that's like saying waters wet. And I was like, okay,
meaning less home runs. But after last inning right bases loaded.
The Jets suck meaningless home runs, he said, meaningless home runs.
Oh we did, Yeah, say that to my face, Mike.

Here comes a meaningless home run. I didn't go so
far to say, hey, what what are the odds you
give me that he hits his home run? Well, because
here's the thing, so Anderson looks like he's got Otani
struck out on a two to two pitch, but it's
a little bit low, not in the not in the
strike box. We never got the the side view as
to where it crosses the play. Well, that's out the

window neck right, that's everyone ends in the box. The
next pitch, Otani Homer's to right center field. Now, you
would have been great because we know we used to
do this and it would be fun to do this here.
But I think people would steal the money. Like when
I was at ESPN and Fox and we were I
think we did in Radio two a little bit. With
ESPN Radio, we had a thing called the deep pool.

Clint Eastwood. I did a couple of dead pools. Then
I stopped doing it. Was a bad karma, the deep pool. Okay,

in a game you were watching like because you know
we're production assistants or we're watching games and it's on
all on all the TV screens. If you thought a
guy was going to hit a home run in that
at bat, you said, hey, I'm taking show, hey in
the deep pool, and you put a quarter in the can,
and if he hit a home run, you won all
the money that was whatever it was in the can. Okay,
if he didn't, it stayed and it built up. Do

you think our bosses would frown on such a here's
the thing here, dude, stuff disappears from the refrigerator. You
think the deep pool was good? People with the money
would stay. Forget it, man, even though I got in here.
Forget Like the guy's fishing for quarters at the another one,

Max Munsey in the deep pool, he just hit a

And I think the Angels right fielder got hurt jumping
into the jumping into the padding to try to uh

doing the well that's what you trying to stop a

I can't leave right now, pennies forever my food. I'm

a second. I know longer feel like I can leave
an unopened soda in the refrigera No that because I

know it's got twenty four hours later it's gone. It's
absolutely gone. People get thirsty, right, I know that walk
to the vending machine in the back. It's a long
the dollar the dollar ten for a can of diet coke.
But I I know I can't. I have to bring
it home with me every night. Like there's no way
I can leave it. Now, certain food, I think I
can leave for maybe twenty four hours maybe, but like

that might be pushing a coffee can with money in it.
Forget forget it, man, that's a And the thing is
that lived at ESPN and at Fox and Radio like
nobody touched it. Like even though there were no cameras
back that nobody touched it. It was a respect thing
where I put the money in you call it guy
hitting the home run. There was one time I know
you got any suspects here? And baggery, Oh there could

be the lot, there could be lots of like the
Jackson jet are plural. It's like, uh, it's like when
it's like when when Andy Samberg on Brooklyn, when Andre
bar would say, do you have looks with suspects peralta,
You would say, oh no, it's way too long. Because
he wanted to do some kind of game and he'd
showed us to like fifty people like yeah, we're we're
getting there. We're getting there, Sorrgy, We're getting there. But

uh but no, there's no way there, There's no way
I could I could do it because the money would disappear.
And in fact, and people tried to game the system
times and say like okay, like one time one guy
came in at ESPN and he had a roll of
quarters and he would just go every guy until he
thought someone was gonna hit on because roll a quarter
how many in roller quarters even thoughts how long it was, right, quarters, bucks,

whatever it was, And he did a quarter for every
single batter of of and yeah, you rolled these up rolling. Yeah,
he kept throwing a quarter in quarter, a quarter in
no home runs like they got like because he threw
whatever it was it was, you know, because you realize, oh,
he's gonna get it. But if you're doing it for
every batter, which is how you do it, you're only

gonna make it through like three in right, like you
know you're gonna you know, because it a hit, not
not a home run. The hit doesn't make you don't
get money back. You throw that money, you throw that
money at No, it's tough. And it was at one
point it got up till we counted it and it
got up to like fifty bucks, and then it was
suddenly was like, oh, I gotta win this. I gotta
win this. I gotta win this. I gotta win this.
I gotta win this. And I want to say, Harold

Reynolds won it. Wow, like he was. He was back
baseball tonight, right, he was the handles for baseball tonight.
But the biggest thing it was. For a second there,
I thought it was wow, Harold Reynolds hit the home run.
He came down and he he just said, oh, so
and so is gonna hit a home run and they
and he put a quarter in. We said to put
the money in, and he was like a guy making
more money than anybody, you know, just hit the just

hit the deepot. And I remember he took the can
with him. It's like, guys are gonna buyas food or anything.
This guy makes all this money. But then he brought
it back. He wanted to count it to see how
much money was in there, so he kind of brought
it back and it was over fifty bucks, right over
fifty bucks. And I think he put an extra couple
of dollars in, which is pretty cool, right, So he
put that in. I mean then you know they had
to but uh that we were like, oh yeah, I'm

gonna put more money in. And then I was off
for two days and I came back and it was
gone and somebody hit it and I never found out
who did it, Like, hey, you with the people. Oh,
I don't know somebody a couple of days. But it
was like a thing. It was like it was like
the twenty two year old equivalent of watching uh you know,
mega millions grow from like here, it's it's ten million, now,
it's fifty's one hundred million. Now, it's five hundred million.

Now it's seven hundred and fifteen millions. Like, oh, I
gotta keep playing. I gotta keep playing. Like that was
a twenty two year old equivalent something you can do
on Sundays here during football season or Saturdays. Who's scoring
the next touchdown? Man? Oh yeah, you'd have to call
it for that play. You have to say touchdown on
this play. You can't do it for a player. It's
that we say it though, like it's it's potential for
absolute chaos. Be like a betting part. You look like

the sting in here if we had that going, Yeah,
but I just throw it course. Yeah. The thing is
like if a team gets down in the one yard
in any game, you could do it for any game.
So team gets down to the one yard, you say, okay, hey,
Jalen Hurts quarterback sneak here. Oh I'm gonna win it.
I'm gonna win the touchdown pool. I say, he's gotta
be something else. He had to be got to do something different,
you know, hit something different. Like the deep pool was great,

but like again, the money would disappear, be gone. We
would have a deep pool, there would be seventy five
cents in at the end of the night. That seventy
five cents would be gone. With the time you and
I came in the next day, I could have seventy
five cents in there gone. I'm taking Alonzo deeple no,
Otani deeple no, Freddie Freeman, deeple no, seventy five cents,
seventy five cents gone. Somebody walking around drinking a soda going, yeah,

I took those three quarters out of there. Oh absolutely, Cohen,
you a sucker. Well they did it telling you. But
congratulations to Otani and uh you know, look a serious moment.
Right now, they have still not resumed play between the
Angel and Dodgers because he is still down in right
field after banging into the wall trying to make that catch.

Well he never got really jump. No, his leg hits
against the bottom of the the matting. Yeah, yeah, home
run the max. Right. So the monthly home run makes
it seven to four here outs top of eight. But
still they they've got Anaheim Fire and Rescue that brought
the cart out. Now they're bracing his leg. It's it's

a pretty grizzly, grizzly injury when you watch it on replay,
just the way his leg hits and buckles and down
he goes. I mean, all big thoughts of Gasavo comparo
who's out there, because he was feeling right away, you
could tell the fact. And I looked at I was like, ooh,
when you see an injury like that, or someone holding
their leg like that, you think I'm gonna see something
bet the other way or that. And at least there wasn't,

at least from what I've seen so far, because there's
still again you do you have fire and rescue out there, Uh,
you know, looking at him, and he's sitting up and
he's looking and he's and and so from that perspective,
you know he's okay. Uh, but they have they have
the card out there for him to take him off,
and he's still on the on the warning track. Uh.
It looks like they have uh stabilized his left leg

and they're now picking him up and carrying him over
to the cart where they're gonna place him on and
drive him off. It's a brutal, brutal moment for Campero
trying to make a play and lose the sight of
where the fence is and jams is left leg directly
into that embracing. Yeah, so again, we'll bring an update

on that, but it looks like that's what's happening, bringing
him onto the court, taking him off. The game should
resume in Anaheim in the next few minutes. Again, Angels
with a seven to four lead over the Dodgers. Now,
we talked about Dak Prescott earlier in the show with
Jason lock and for and a couple of big stories.
We'll get to the Matthew Stafford angle in a few minutes,
but you know, Rams and Cowboys playing Dak Prescott obviously

owner Stan Kronky. Everybody's hanging out at midfield talking. Jerry
Jones is there and what's become a big deal in
the last twenty four to thirty six hours has been
video of Dak Prescott telling Stan Cranky, all right, hey,

we'll see in the NFC Championship game? All right? And
all of a sudden, oh, he's Dak Prescott guaranteeing the

let's be serious about this before, before we get to

away because for about twenty four hour, everybody was kissing

great and glowing things even going back to last year

this could be fun. And now in camp he's had
some moments and coming out of the preseason game, some

because he can't help but throw some more dirt debt.
So Dak Prescott said, Hey, Jerry, how about this. I'll
make you proud. We're going to the Super Bowl. And
look like I said, it's a nothing burger. It's it's
him just saying something fun. Right, It's a nothing burger
except in two cities. It's a nothing burger for all

you know. It's a nothing burger here in LA. It's
nothing burger in New York, nothing burger in Dallas, nothing
burger in Chicago, nothing burger in Houston, nothing burger. But
it's something in Philadelphia and Washington. Oh, the Super Bowl

in Dallas though, No, well, we if you thought the

could have been on video saying I want out, and
it would be exactly the same. The pressure would be

and and I remember, I vividly remember this when I
was a kid, Like that's how it was, right like
in the eighties, all the way back in the eighties,
but like because I had a boom box, and it
was one of those things where with a cassette in
the middle, right, that was always a big like you
had the boombox, you had the caseet in the middle,
and you could tape anything on the radio. And I remember,
like so many things that I looked musically that I

learned about for the first time because I heard a
good sign it like there was a station New York

a perfect Alble's side. I remember the first time, like
when I'm young and they go, hey, we got the
Who Who's Next? Side too, I'm like okay, and I
and I remember taping it and they play it all
the way through. I'm like, oh, man, I got the

whole side of this Who album. And then I realized,
you know, as I grew up how much I loved
that album. I'm like, that's probably one of the ten
best rock albums of all time. Who's Next? Like that's
got Baba O'reiley and Won't Get Fooled Again and getting
in tune and behind blue Eyes and going mobile and uh,
that was always one of my fanish. Man, that's a

great I'm getting into one of my favorite who saw
check out? My estimated way time to check out? Oh
you're align to check Wow, sixty eight minutes for you
to check out? It was just sixty nine minutes if
you would have looked down thirty seconds. So I remember
taping and having it and listening to it, like listening
to the Who album side. But I vividly remember when
David lee Roth left Van Halen right for the first time,

Halen and he went and formed his own new band
and it was Billy Sheen was the bassist, and and
I forget who was he had a he had a
what's his name was a guitar. Stevie Vie was a guitarist. Yeah,
And he was debuting his album at a big party, uh.
And it was simulcast on the big rock station New York.

And I'm like, oh, this is great, this is great.
And he's debuting the album right. So the first song
they played was Yankee Rose, and I'm like, they played
it the beginning and then and the guy is interviewing
davidly Roth and members of the band and they're all
like in various states and whatever, and so he's talking
about it. He goes, yeah, he's a first single. Here's
Yankee Row. Yankee. So they played Yankee rosm like, oh, wow,
that's such a great song, Like, Wow, this album's gonna
completely kick ass. So then they would play the other songs.

But because David le Daily wrong, I remember him saying,
so I'm gonna talk over these songs, says you cats
and kiddies can't like just tape it listen to it
for free. So he would he would answer questions about
the songs and would talk over them, so like for
the first like if it's a four minute song, because
they played the entire album, and like if it's a
fourth song, like a four minute song, he would talk

over the first like two and a half minutes ago,
all right, here's the rest of the song. It was
like Damn Good, which the song about van Halen. He
had a couple of other songs out there, and it
was so maddening because I'm like, yeah, I'm gonna taping gout.
I'm gonna get the new David Lee Roth. I'm not
having to pay for it. And he just kept talking.
Hey man, he knew that he knew the gig. He
just kept doing it. I'm like, come on, man, But

I had yanked which Yankee Rose was the best song,
so I was I was okay with it because the
other songs were okay. But like Yankee Rose's David Rob
knew that Noah, oh yeah, he knew had the presence
of mind but if he got talking over the top
of it, We're gonna buy the full album because you
were excited about yan yek Ros and you and you
heard like some of the other songs is not bad.
I'm like, oh, okay, this is not bad. This is
