(00:48):
Tire rack dot Com. The Way tire buying should be.
Angels and Dodgers Marquee Baseball Game of the Night. It's
a Kershaw Day, Zip Zip. In the seven, the Angels
put runners at second and third with nobody out. Kershaw
gets a couple of outs, no run, score walks the

(01:08):
bases loaded. He's at one hundred and two pitches. Dave
Roberts is standing at the top of the dugout and
he's sitting there going. Kershaw doesn't want to come out.
He's at one hundred and two pitches. My bullpen stinks.
What the hell do I do? What the hell do
I do? I can't walk out there. I can't And
I don't know if he just put out all kinds

(01:29):
of messages and mental karma out there. But the first pitch,
pitch number one oh three of the night, Corshaw gets
a ground out to short to end the inning. The
Angels blow a second and third nobody out advantage, and
now it's nothing, nothing, and Kershaw's night is mostly done. Yeah,
now here comes the bullpen where things get really interesting.

Speaker 3 (01:50):
Well, now that's it, right, So we were scoreless through seven.

Speaker 1 (01:53):
He'd gotten a six pitch sixth inning, comes.

Speaker 3 (01:58):
Back out because after he left at the sixth inning,
we're all looking at each other going, he gets to
go out for the seventh, right, still scoreless.

Speaker 1 (02:06):
He still has to go out for the seventh, and
then he struggles. We get to pitch twenty two. They
show the grid of the pitches by inning. Now we're
over one hundred and he induces the groundball to end
the inning. But Dave Roberts standing at the top of
the dugout. You might as well have had the picture
and picture Hey, Clayton, can I come get you or no?

Speaker 2 (02:26):
But we're not.

Speaker 1 (02:27):
If I haven't scored you, stake one more step. I'll
drill you with this with a fast ball.

Speaker 3 (02:32):
He looked like the guy in a horror movie where
everything is unfolding, right, I don't know what to do,
and he's like, I have no idea because if I
take yeah, and do I make If I make a sound,
the monster's.

Speaker 1 (02:43):
Gonna come get me. Yeah. It's like it's like, do
I run to try to save somebody, knowing full well
I could die, Or do I run away, knowing that
if I escape, I'll think about this not saving this
person for the rest of my life. What do I do?
And that's Dave Roberts said Clayton. Who should warm up?
Who do you trust?

Speaker 2 (02:59):
You?

Speaker 1 (03:00):
Tell me who you want me to put in? Oh?
You want me to get Fernando out of the broadcast booths.
All right, fine, Hey, Fernando, come on down. I'm giving
you the high sight with you. Oh you know Oral,
come on down, Pija, come on man.

Speaker 3 (03:11):
I think it was kind of like the speech the
catcher gives in Major League two to Parkman about the
train on the tracks and calls him a butt head
and everything else.

Speaker 1 (03:23):
Uh that it was that, Yeah, it was.

Speaker 3 (03:25):
It was that kind of thing of Dave Roberts trying
to figure out.

Speaker 1 (03:30):
If I go get Clayton, how does this end for me? Uh? Parkman,
isn't he a convicted felon? Well, I don't have that
on it.

Speaker 3 (03:38):
Well, he ought to be all right, But a great
piece of pitching by Kershaw to reduce the ground ball
pitch one oh three. But as we've chronicled, is, for
as long as you and I have been in these
chairs at Fox Sports Radio, whenever you get into the
sixth inning, you can have it with something really special.

Speaker 1 (03:58):
Go. We watched it Friday night.

Speaker 3 (03:59):
Right, all of a sudden, you got a guy comes
up out of the minor leagues. Emergency spots start out
in double A. He's got a no hitter through six,
and here comes the Grim Reaper and.

Speaker 1 (04:10):
Now a horrendous Dodgers bullpen is going to try to
close this game. And I told you the last couple
of times I've gone to the dog park. Dog dog park,
dog park, not dog track. Dog Park. You thought he
was saying something else. What's on your mind? Smith's Dog Park?
Dog Park? You got Mariah Mills on your head? And
stop stops once she's once she sees me in a

(04:31):
sleeveless shirt, she's gonna be after me. Now, said is
he's got on his head. So I so I go
to the dog park to let Benny play. And because
Betty loves to play, so go there two or three
times a week. He loves it, loves it, loves it.
And these two guys I sit in here a couple
of times. The last time I was there yesterday. All
they do is bet on baseball, right, all they do.
It is awesome listening to them talk about things like

(04:51):
one one guy was really excited he got Red's futures
last week at at a great price. And they both, yeah,
you got a bookie at the Wow. He's saying, well,
he already kills the guy where you get the I'm
not saying he's gambling at the dog great. Hey, who's
the big dog? What does that mean? Wh's the guy

(05:12):
who's No? No, they were just talking about one of
them got Red's futures like a week ago at at
a great.

Speaker 3 (05:18):
Rune, that sixty five year old woman over there with her. Yeah,
you go to you, she runs book. You want to
bet Red's futures? I don't got anything for you, sorry
about that.

Speaker 1 (05:29):
So uh and they were talking. They got Red's futures.
They were very excited. And the other thing they were
excited about was Angels on the money line tonight against Kershaw.
They said, ah, you know, we talked to some One
of them said they talked to some people everything, and
they were I was like, interesting, let's see how it
works out. And so far it had worked out great
because the Angels, hey, one hundred and two pitches, they

(05:50):
had gotten Kershaw most likely out of the game. But
the worm has turned a little bit because Kershaw gets
out of the seventh inning without giving up a run
when they had second and third and nobody out, and
now a bad hop single has the Dodgers with a
one run lead in the top of the eighth thing.
So the one nothing, Yeah, I don't know that eleven
is enough. What it would be twelve? Well?

Speaker 3 (06:12):
Yeah, I mean one thing with with Kershaw's numbers, right
was at nineteen straight scoreless innings against the Angels, so
that was.

Speaker 1 (06:19):
Completely if they went heavy in on that action. Was
bullpen is so bad? Kershaw can only go so far.
We got to get at least three cracks of the bullpen.
You think Kursher right now is going one hundred and two.
I'm fine, Send me back out, send me back. He's
gonna lobby him. Yeah, you took me out of that
perfect game I have with the bleeping Twins. You're leaving

(06:39):
me in for this. You don't think I saw you
standing at the top of those steps. You going right?
He got the finger wag. No, No, you don't already kissed.
This game started at seven to eight, that's right. Uh
So that's where we are right now. Dodgers lead the
Angels one nothing. It's been a quiet night. Yeah, yeah, yeah,

(07:00):
because now twelve they'll be safe.

Speaker 3 (07:02):
I'll tell you what though, I just marvel at that
guy every fifth day at this point, right because so
many times when when you have a back injury and
the different things he's gone through physically where you're wondering
where where that end is, and and we've been chronicling
this for a decade and watching the greatness and the
longevity and what he's been able to do and the

(07:25):
amount of innings and quality starts he's given him this year,
even though the bullpen is going to let you down, right,
I mean, it takes nothing away from what he's done.
And I think it's a story that's kind of gotten
pushed down because right now there's so much focus on

(07:46):
can you get one of these other starters back and
how badly the bullpen has performed that it's really overshadowed.

Speaker 1 (07:53):
What is another fantastic year from a guy going to
the Hall. I mean, look, he's the greatest left handed
pitcher I've ever seen. Yeah, right when I was growing up,
Steve Carlton was that guy. But I got Carlton. I
got him at the end. Yeah, I got him at
the end of the mid to late seventies when he
was still great and he had a pickoff move that
I still can't believe it, you know, And you know,
you compare Kershaw to Kofax, and Kofax obviously had to

(08:15):
retire when he was thirty, but the dominant level that
he had for those six seven years is really unmatched.
But I can't I can't hold that against Kershaw, that
he's been able to stay healthy for longer and be
just as dominant in more of an era of a hitter,
because you know the sixties you talking about that was
the air of the pitcher, you know that was and
everything else. They still lower the mound because hey, these
pitchers are doing too well, so to see Kershaw be

(08:38):
able to do this. And really he's the best left
handed pitcher I have ever seen and I'll never see
another guy like him. Well, and he's a chap ass too, right,
He's well, then you have to be right. But I
mean they when we joke about the start time, we
know that that is something that is one of his
big pet peeves. If there are pregame ceremonies or whatever

(08:58):
that start to bleed towards dark time, that he's stalking
around like a you know, caged big cat. And then
we watch him the work that he does on the hill,
the diligence and that that he carries into his interviews.
It's like it's work, and I'll give you the fine
points on the work, but that that's it. It's it's

(09:21):
all about the excellence of execution. And we've been able
to celebrate it here in La this entire run. So
Dodgers up ONNS up and again Kershaw is going to
get to three thousand strikeouts in the next couple of starts.
I mean, the big plaudits are coming his way again,
the best left handed pitcher I've ever seen, not even close.
More on this game as it continues to unfold, because no,

(09:43):
forget the Dodger bullpen will have time to get in
this end and affect the end of this game. But
earlier today we saw Damian Lillard wigh in that he
wants the Blazers to trade Zion Williamson. Let's go and
you know, and I said, there's been a lot of

(10:04):
talk about this rumor the last few days. Chris Haynes
of Yahoo I think had this ay the Blazers would
like to bring Zion Williamson to Portland. And I look
at this and I go, dude, if you want to win,
Damian Lord, if you want to win so bad, you're
not gonna do it in Portland. Man, how many years
have you been there? You're not gonna build a consistent
winner in Portland? All right, it's too hard. It's too

(10:26):
hard when you're a small market team in the NBA
to say we're gonna be good for a long time.
You're the rare guy who stayed everybody else leaves, and hey,
good on you for staying when everybody else wanted you
to go. If you're happy in Portland, that's awesome. But
what do you really think is gonna happen? I mean, Portland,
they don't have anything. They'll low ball for Zion Williamson

(10:47):
because nobody's gonna pay a lot for him. The Pelicans
are gonna say no, and he's gonna get upset, and
I want to go. Dude, you're in Portland, man, it's
not gonna happen. Stay. Everything's great. You had a chance.
You and McCollum were together for a long time, man,
and you are two really really good guards and this
one and you really could have made him. You got
to the Western Conference finals once and you weren't even close.

(11:07):
You got swept on your way out. Uh yeah, I
don't see how suddenly making demands for trades that's really
gonna happen. I don't. I mean, I would love see
Damian Lillard in a situation in playoff rounds where he
is dangerous and his team is a threat. I would
love to see that because I feel bad every time
we talk about a game this guy has it's yeah,

(11:29):
but now he's doing it in the vast unknown quantity
of late night NBA games for a team that is
gonna be lucky if they even get sneak their way
into the playoffs. So it's like, yeah, I get you
want Zion, but dude, what are you gonna give up?
What what's gonna happen? How is he going to get there?

Speaker 2 (11:45):
And how how?

Speaker 1 (11:46):
How are you how do you think that other guys
are going to get there and stay there and want
to play and say, yeah, we're gonna go win here.
I'm sorry, it just doesn't happen at the teams that
are smaller market that unless you draft well, you're not
going to win. And that's how it goes in Portland.

Speaker 3 (12:01):
Curious to see how they'd make salaries matchup to make
that happen with the roster as currently, Catch a trade, Drexler,
you gotta trade a lot of guys, Duckworth and.

Speaker 1 (12:13):
Trade.

Speaker 3 (12:13):
Yeah, r vetus a legend the Hall of Famer. But yeah,
it's it's really a difficult proposition. I like the ownership
of it all though, when it comes down to wanting
to stay with the squad, it's it's rare error now
is the being unrealistic of what can happen. I think
it would take a lot to pull something off. And

(12:34):
I don't know, you know, when we're looking at future
trade assets and whatever, you know, draft considerations, because people
are just giving those away, right, that's like, hey, do
you want some more stock.

Speaker 1 (12:47):
We're not gonna pay any more money. And if things
go well, hey we all win. If not, well we're
not out anything. And you had a meager salary, are
you in? Let's go and and I think that may
be where the Blazers have to go. And it's like
the trade that the Suns made, you know, to bring
Durant in. Here's four number ones, and in some of

(13:08):
these other trades, here's five, here's a couple of players,
here's a bunch of cash, all of those things. But
I like, if legit he's trying to take on a
recruiting side and trying to push the front office to say, hey,
I'm being loyal, I'm a star in this league. Let's
get some help and let's make a run. I mean,
we watched the playoffs this year.

Speaker 3 (13:30):
Anything can happen, right, I know it was a slogan,
a cheesy one off of one of the later years
in the show, Las Vegas, when Tom Sellick took over.

Speaker 1 (13:38):
But hey, anything can happen.

Speaker 3 (13:41):
We watched the Miami Heat and Heat culture even though
everybody's like it's dismantled. It got to the NBA Finals
with a bunch of undrafted guys, you dopes.

Speaker 1 (13:52):
But the other side, being on the Western Conference side,
Lakers were in the Western Conference Finals. They made a
couple of moves and they rolled the dice that their
big stars would stay healthy in a couple other role
players that they acquired would catch fire. I guess what
it worked. Why can't that be Portland for one day?

(14:12):
It can't. Maybe not sustainable, but let's not gonna happen.
I wish, but it's not gonna happen. Oh I want
to make Trey. Dude, if you really want to win,
you gotta go play someplace else. I'm sorry, but you
gotta go play someplace else. How many years have you
been there? Suddenly now it's gonna happen. You gotta go
someplace else. And man, it just takes one. You gotta go,

(14:33):
and they haven't been able to get one. They haven't
eithernew you gotta go But this is not about me
and next year's NBA final participant in New York Mix. No,
this is about Damian Lillard. You want to win. You
gotta go, man, you gotta go. Yeah. Fred Armison's a
bigger deal than him. There Armison Wow Orlandia Yeah.

Speaker 2 (14:53):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Jason Smith
Show with Mike Harmon weekdays at ten pm Eastern, seven
pm Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 1 (15:04):
Fox Sports Radio. The Jason Smith Show with My best
friend Mike Harmon live from the Tireck dot Com Studios,
where the Dodger bullpen has come in and gotten three
hours Dodgers based strikeouts. Dodgers lead the Angels to nothing
going to the ninth inning, still another inning for the
Dodger bullpen to get through. So can they trade O'TORNI
guys after tonight? I don't think they can. I think
they actually clinch a playoff berth if they win tonight. Oh,

(15:27):
after all these strikeouts to him and Trout, they gotta
trade him. Tell you what that pitch that Trout just
got called out?

Speaker 3 (15:32):
One that is showing where you're at in the in
the pantheon of stars here in twenty twenty.

Speaker 1 (15:39):
He's ready for Eagles football because that was awful. That
was an awful pitch. So we'll keep you updated on that.
To nothing on a kershaw Knight. No damage at all
tonight at all from either Otani or Mike Trout in
the Marquee Game of the Night in Major League based twitters. Now,
before we get to design Williamson, I have to say
we have to spend a minute here because Paxton Whitehead

(16:01):
died today at the age of eighty five. Oh who
was Paxton Whitehead. Well, if you watch Back to School
with Rodney Dangerfield, he was the bad guy. He was
phill Up, the teacher, Sally Kellerman's boyfriend. He was also
Rachel's boss on Friends, very popular. He was also in Seinfeld.
He was the upper crust, snooty Englishman who always was

(16:23):
funny despite the fact it wasn't his job to be funny.
And you and I spent today before the show watching
the first scene because Back to School was his first movie.
Backs was my favorite movie. What a scene, What a
movie Thornton Mellen getting after it and went to school.
When he's to school and he's in his uh, he's
in his class for the first time and they say

(16:43):
we're going to start a company from the ground up.
Let's just say we're making widgets. And the scene is
so great. He's going toe with toe to toe with
Rodney Dangerfield and you know you see him go, oh wow,
that's who that was. Look people, he had he had
some kind of career where he had back to school,
back to his friends. He you know, he had some memorable,
memorable roles, and that's really all you can ask for
as an actor. But I still I go all away.

(17:05):
I still run packs and whiteheadlines from back to school
in my house, where it's always like what movie is this?
You'll see it at some point.

Speaker 3 (17:12):
But that exchange is so dynamic, and he's so deadpan
and it's just one line back and forth and the
facial expressions of the all right, I still have to keep,
you know, the righteous Englishman persona. So I'm not gonna
get dragged into the mud with this guy as he
keeps making mafia references.

Speaker 1 (17:34):
Kicking and Maia payouts. Maybe your way of doing things,
mister Mellon boy, what what do we what's our product?

Speaker 3 (17:42):
It doesn't matter, Like tell that to the bank, and
like the little wincing that he does, like all these
little back and forth overall, But you look at the
other shows, if you look at his IMDb really quick,
you've got Frasier, Caroline in the City, Matt About You, Friends,
The Drew Carey Show, Rock from the Sun. Also, Law
and Order was on a couple episodes. Magnum p I

(18:04):
like Anything.

Speaker 1 (18:06):
Showed up. He was across the hall. He was their
neighbor across all on that About You, Yeah, and they
couldn't stand him. He was still the upper crust, snooty,
curmudgeon league guy, and he was just funny even when
he's not trying to be funny, and that that's really talented. Well,
you can be a straight man like that and still
be incredibly funny. That's a gift. That is an absolute gift.
All back to cool, Back to cool. To prove too

(18:31):
dead that I'm not a fool, I'm not him. What
a movie not yet? No? Not okay, different movie reference, Jane, Yeah, no,
different movie not not not Billy Madison. Billy Madison is
a fine movie and a good thing.

Speaker 3 (18:46):
We called that guy, but well then there's good life
lessons to be learned in that whole part of the film.

Speaker 1 (18:53):
Aren't they playing crying game over with us? Uh? So? Yeah?
So hey, rest in peace, Paxton Whitehead eighty five and
an absolute legend. Today was one of those days where
if you're Zion Williamson, you just cringe getting up going

(19:13):
what is being said now about me? Where trade rumors
have been following him for the last couple of weeks,
now the last week, he has had to deal with
all the drama involving adult film actress Mariah Mills. If
you remember, this all started a few days ago when
Zion posted a picture with his girlfriend a reveal party

(19:36):
that they're expecting a baby. Mariah Mills didn't like this
and said, oh, I was just with you and I
didn't know this was happening, and it became a pretty
big story pretty fast, and I saw some stuff online. Oh,
I can't believe mainstream media is running with this story
well because it involves an adult film actress that's kind
of a.

Speaker 3 (19:54):
Guy that has been yeah, so in the spotlight in
a very big way for quite some time, with a
lot of consternation about his inability to get back on
the court. Yet now he and then there was a
third woman that got into the mix. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
so you got that going on too.

Speaker 1 (20:10):
So it was a very It was a very It's
very easy to say, well, this is why the story
has gotten out there, and so all of this is
going on. Boys, Zion's got this this this girl that
he wanted to allegedly move to New Orleans. She said,
I have texts that say how much will it cost
for you to set you up in a place here?
And that became a story. And then today on Twitter,

(20:32):
she tweeted a bunch of times, Zion's going to get traded.
You wait, wait till the sex tape comes out, and
she threatens it's coming out six times that she was
going to release a sex tape that the two of
them have apparently, which I mean in this day and age,
is it's still a big thing. Uh yeah, no, it
still is. It still is. Yeah, it still is. Asking
for a friend, where can I get this? Yeah, I'm well,

(20:55):
we'll see mills common Mariah, I would say, hit her
up on Twitter, just don't get out. I mean, his
computer is smoking. But in the studio right now as
he did his rep I'm not I'm not searching anything
as far as you know. But the thing is after
she threatens him with release of this sex tape like
seven times on Twitter, her Twitter account got suspended. So

(21:19):
now you can.

Speaker 3 (21:21):
Spew out anything you want about fuzzy math in terms
of government expenditures, political on everything.

Speaker 1 (21:31):
But if you threaten to release that sex tape one
more time, man, look and see. Is Elon Muskim minority
owner in the New Orleans Pelicans? Is is he some
kind of is he? Does he? Because if he doesn't,
he would think he was Zion's uncle. We gotta, we
gotta get we gotta, we gotta stop this. So her
account gets deactivated, suspended, So now at least he wont

(21:54):
have to wake up and see that tomorrow. I mean
maybe maybe maybe maybe maybe maybe she jumps to Instagram.
I don't know, Maybe she goes to friends her, you know,
I don't know. Maybe still start doing interviews and we'll
put her on TV or a podcast or something. Hey,
it could go, what's that? Get to that roll of
dex let's go what do you want? On Jay? You know,

(22:15):
Harmon wants you to book Mariah Mills. Apparently, well Mariah
Mills on the show. I don't think that would be good,
don't you have enough dump buttons for the dump. Yeah, dude,
this is this is still a family show. I mean,
she's got to know all the euphemisms of what you
can say. Can you put her on at ten forty
nine Pacific? Right? We can read some of the tweets
that she just put out there. Well, you think she

(22:36):
knows what she can say and not say? Right here?
You can do whatever you want. Yeah, but I'm not
so wild wild West. I'm going back to the Will Smith's.
I mean, I like your style, Mike, but I got
a side with Jason on this video podcast. Just me
that that's a little bit racking, uh, to have to
worry about what someone's going to say. When I see
some of the things some of the things she has

(22:56):
said on social media. Bobs not like that. You'd have
a meeting with the Bobs and you wouldn't like that
meeting at all? What would you say? You do here? Well, well,
it's nothing brought into the studio because you're fire new audience.
If I are ed, we might be able to sell

(23:17):
access to that on only fans and being revenue street fired.
If I are ed, I'll do it. This is now
an absolute mess for Zion Williamson. And look, now it's
going to make trading him a little bit more difficult,
because not that this would preclude you from trading for him,

(23:39):
but it's I'm worried he's going to be on the
court and he's got this kids. It's another distraction. You're
already having trouble getting him back into shape, back into
proper mindset to get onto the court. There's rumors of
malcontentedness and maybe not getting along with teammates. I e.
Is teammates going why the hell can he play? That

(23:59):
extends to adult film stars now allegedly allegedly getting along
with them, I have to say, allegedly. But wow, Well
he hasn't said anything yet. I mean, but he hasn't denied. Well,
but no, he's not getting along with her off the court, No, no, no.
On the court, they're doing just fun.

Speaker 2 (24:18):
Yeah, I mean.

Speaker 1 (24:18):
And I don't know anymore though, Although don't you get
the sense that all all this stuff, all this threatening,
and if Zion Williams has said, hey, you're right, I
should be with you, she would say yes, I love you.
Of course she would do that to all this stuff.
I'm gonna do this. You choose me, I'm gonna do this.
I choose you. Yes, I love you, baby, Jason. If
he was smart, he would do it. Then she would

(24:38):
delete the video and it would never come out. Would
she really delete the video though, if he told her
I'm coming to you like I'm coming back to you, yeah,
she would in a second. I don't know about that.
I think you don't always hold on to the Yeah,
you never know its insurance. Baby, relationships are like ww,
you never know when someone has a heel turn coming
and ah, then you suddenly screwed. She doesn't seem like

(24:59):
the type she would see that coming. I don't know.
I think she seems like or at least she threaten
giving here giving her a way too much credit. Well,
it's the unknown, it's the unknown man. That's a big dice.
What somebody's ever threatened you with? Sex times Jersey all
the time, and I know how to deal with them.
That's my whole thing I don't have. That's why he

(25:20):
doesn't have any sleeves on in the studio today. Hey,
it's a preemptive strike, came straight from the sun. I'm
already showing you what I got, you got. I'm wearing
my sleeveless shirt showing you my triceps. And if Mariah
Mills saw my triceps, she would go forget about Zion,
not tweeting about him anymore. Yeah, I'm gonna I'm gonna tweet.

(25:41):
I'm gonna wear a Mets jersey and and an Aaron
Rodgers hat, and I'm gonna say, yeah, Jason, show me
those tri SEPs. But Kelly's gonna leave Bill Murray for you. Now,
I wouldn't know what to say to her if she
showed up here in the studio. Well, I would say, Hi, Mariah,
nice to meet you. Mike Corman wanted to put you
on the air. I think we're gonna get fired, so
we're not gonna do that. Thank you. Yeah. Uh, but

(26:04):
let me just say this because this is and just
keep going like when uh, like when Ryan put Creed
on the internet, you put it. No, he's just typing
in a word document. He thinks he's on the internet.
It's a word I open a word document for uh.
Is that you I understand? And it's hard to feel

(26:25):
It's hard to feel sympathy in situations like this because
obviously you're seeing how this goes and you're wondering. Everybody's
a grown adult and you're responsible for your own life,
and when you have some kind of life changing money
and you're yeah, it's not a lot of sympathy because hey,
this is something that could have probably been avoided. But
at the same time, it's it makes me understand, and
I do feel that stars, especially of this magnitude. When

(26:49):
you have this much money, this much fame, this much everything,
it's almost impossible to have a relationship because anything can
go bad at any time, and if it does well,
like you and I, it's okay, hey or relisha, it
didn't work, and all right, we're breaking up. And of course,
you know, you'll say something to the to your friends
because you want to step out in front of things,

(27:11):
and she'll say something to your friends because she wants
to get out in front of it. Nobody wants to
look bad. But this is not something that plays out
on radio stations and TV and on Twitter and social media,
whereas it plays out that way. And I don't mean
to a point where hey, I got involved with with
an adult film actress allegedly and now all she's doing
is threatening to release a sex tape. It's everywhere it's

(27:32):
it's just some kind of breakup when two stars break up.
Who's gonna win the breakup? Who's gonna be the one
that people like? People are gonna like Jennifer Aniston more,
are they gonna like Vince Vaughn Moore? Who are they
gonna like? Who are they gonna stay with? They're gonna
like Brad pittmore like Angelina and joe Leemore. And it's
so hard for stars to be able to have that
relationship because the end is all you're thinking about. It
has to be if this goes bad, what is out there?

(27:54):
What could what could the other person possibly do to
me if this? If this gets bad and this goes
out there, and this kind of goes back to I
remember Nick Saban saying this a couple of years ago.
You got a big laugh out of his team because
now he's presented it. But he said, listen, when you
get involved in a relationship and you're a star, always
always understand if you're a relationship with someone where you

(28:15):
have more to lose than they do. And just as
long as you understand that is that's why you should.
You should never get involved with somebody that doesn't have
as much to lose as you do and not saying
that this isn't a situation where hey, she's got a career,
he's got a career. But you just don't know what
the unknown is. And that's where if you're a celebrity
and you're a star, it's hey, you have to watch
out because anything, it may seem like the greatest relationship

(28:37):
in the world, but it can go bad over a day.
And then who knows what a publicist is tweeting out
or saying or leaking to the New York Post or
what someone's going right to social media and saying, you
were just with me while you're with your girlfriend, and
here's this and here comes to sex tape. Its Oh wow. Yeah,
now I get what people mean when they say you
got to watch your relationships when you're a star.

Speaker 3 (28:57):
Otherwise you can just write a couple of hit albums
where you just go after whomever and.

Speaker 1 (29:03):
Sell out stadiums nationwide. Yeah, but Zion can't sing. I
don't think, we don't know. I don't think if he
could sing, he would have done it already. You think, yeah,
when you get back on the court first, singing is
much less strenuous than actually playing basketball. Okay, Yeah, but
I don't think he can sing. We'll see if we can.
They have just as good a chance of seeing him

(29:25):
sing a song about breakups as you would see him
on the What about the mask singer? You might see that,
could see him on there, could see him on the
mask singer.

Speaker 3 (29:33):
Yeah, especially if he's I mean, what was he He
was wearing a mask and you really couldn't even tell
him the video was him.

Speaker 1 (29:37):
Who's the guy not moving around the stage pretty well,
Oh that's Zion Williamson. Yeah, he's not coming back. Who's
that guy that's doing Super Dunk's pre game jumping out
of the gym while wearing in a guana suit? Just
gotta watch why in iguana suit going on a mass singer?
I don't know. I never watched it, so I have

(29:59):
no how many iguana suits do you all money?

Speaker 2 (30:01):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (30:01):
I mean I remember, I'm really trying to make that happen.
I remember really wanting the iguana skin air Jordan's when
they came out the thing. But then but then, I
don't know, I don't remember if that was like now
something that was okay, like to have a guana skin.
I think you are you there might be some, you know,
rare species of iguana that you don't want on your sneaker.

(30:22):
But I think in general, I just mean, like, is
that an acceptable type you rocket? I mean I'm not
what like do you think like you have some iguana
skin and it's poison like? But I don't know you
you don't want that on your on your sneaker? Okay?
I mean does bring up to your point if I
said to you a pair of Jordan's What am I
talking about? Jordan's? Yeah, shorts, sure? Yes? Or basketball cards? Yes,

(30:48):
the basketball cards. It's actually cards. It's actually shorts made
out of basketball cards. Really their cardboard, and you wear them.
They're really cool. Mike's got a Perry bought some money
bay no dole rookies? I do one? Do you really
a Jordan Fleer Rooki year about one hundred and fifty grand?
What does that worth? No? No, No, I only have
it in a seven. Oh come on, what happened to it?

(31:09):
That's how I bought it? Oh? Oh, you bought a
lower condition, so it's only one hundred grand. Ja the
tens we're going at the time for about three hundred grand.
Oh wow? Mean the other lower grades were on a
relative basis of bargain. How much is your seven worth?
You can look it up. A couple grand, okay, A
couple grand, A four grand? Oh okay? Oh nice, very good.

(31:30):
Yeah you guns held the Tyser for like ten grand.
He doesn't even know. He doesn't know. Now he just
feels good. That's a deal. Yeah, see right there, I
just sold it four well, I mean it was owned
part of the Harmon collection, he says, sell it to Tyser.
He's gonna borther you with some potatoes and brocas. I'll
tell you what. The burrito he gave me was pretty good, though.
Here's five thousand dollars and some of the best rice
you'll ever have. You know what, though, if he made

(31:52):
me something in that thirty eight pound blender, we don't win.

Speaker 2 (31:55):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Jason Smith
Show with Mike Harmon weekdays. He said, ten pm Eastern,
seven pm Pacific.

Speaker 1 (32:03):
Fox Sports Radio, The Jason Smith Show with my best
friend Mike Harmon. We have a situation that happened tonight
in Major League Baseball with one Soto that you just
have to hear it to believe it all. It's coming
up in about ten minutes, but uh earlier, it's coming
up in ten minutes. We'll see. Maybe it is maybe

(32:25):
it is must Ash far it. Jordan Whitehead is a
safety who plays for the Jets. He played for the
tam Bay Buccaneers in twenty twenty when Tom Brady was
traded there. Tam Bay Buccaneers won the Super Bowl, and
he said today the Jets situation is the same as
when Tom Brady came to the box, except for Aaron Rodgers,

(32:48):
isn't tom Brady, but sure, hey he's almost as good
regular season. I'll give you, well, the last couple of
years he's been better than Tom Brady in the regular season. Yeah,
and then when well, what was that sound effect you
were just playing? When it comes to the postseason. For
for Aaron Rodgers, yeah, Rodgers, the Jets new vibe reminds

(33:09):
him of the Bucks Super Bowl. This guy, brain, I'm
telling you, you're all doing it. It's all fun. You
all think you're having fun and games the summer. It's
this that we're not having fun. And all ready for
talking about the Jets a lot. I trying to save
you from your feelings getting hurt. Get ready for how
good the Jets are gonna be. You're gonna be looking

(33:31):
for the nixt season teams where all my teams stink,
the Mets stinks, and basketball, maybe this year will be better,
but it's you and and Yang. All my teams can't stink.
Wait a minute, maybe that's true, but you all can
say what you want and want to dismiss. Get ready
for how good the Jets are going to How good Jason?

(33:51):
How good are they going to be? The Jets are
going to the super Bowl. It's happening, Rogers getting We're
gonna win the division, They're going to super Bowl. It's happening.
Like you can't even say that it's happened. Look, I'm
like any other team that if any other team had
a top three defense and the reigning rookie of the

(34:12):
Year and another guy who would have won Rookie of
the Year if he was healthy at running back, a
lot of ifs you would say. You would say, well,
that team's going to the super Bowl, getting Aaron Rodgers,
you have to go to the super But because it's
the Jets, it's oh, they're a sad sack franchise. Nobody
wants to give any credit for anything you know what, blank,
all of you, the Jets are gonna watch how good
they are? Just watch? Won't just watch? O start with

(34:37):
the playoffs? Why do you gotta go straight to the
super Bowl? You got playoffs first? Because if I thought
that's where we would end up, that's where we might
not end up in the super Bowl.

Speaker 3 (34:44):
I will say this, the most entertaining thing I've seen
related to the Jets is the uh the video. Someone
went and they superimposed the heads of Zach Wilson and
Aaron Rodgers on to Nicholas Taturo and Adam Sandler on
the longest side, went to turn wants to be the quarterback.

Speaker 1 (35:04):
That's not why you're That's why you're not the quarterback.
Pretty funny. So that was good. I like all your ifs.
If this guy hadn't gotten hurt, that was pretty significant. No, no, no, no.
If it was a team other than the Jets who
had top three defense a Bresee Hall, Garrett Wilson, and

(35:27):
they ad Aaron Rodgers, it would be They're going to
the super Bowl. They're the trendy pick for the Super Bowl.
But because if the Jets, everyone's to make fun of them,
there's such an easy target. We're not going to give
him credit and say Rogers Steaks and all the time.
Just watch, just watch, just watch. Everybody will because they're
on national TV every week. For your sake. I hope
it's it's not as bad as it could potentially be.

(35:49):
How bad do you think it's gonna be? Divisions? What's bad? Eleven?
We got to see what happens with this Tyreek Hill situation.
Eleven and seven. And Stefan Diggs is not happy. Everybody's
happy with the Jets. The Jets when they had the
part of the off season, Well, that's great. You won
the off season, Buddy's Dan, You've won the off season.
The happiness. We've won the happiness part of the office. Remember,
every time you can draft a quarterback, it's the greatest saying, ah,

(36:11):
he stinks
