Speaker 2 (00:23):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 1 (00:31):
Woo, what an ending in Golden State Fox Sports Radio,
The Jason Smith Show with Mike Harmon Live and uh
an absolute thriller. It is the Warriors that are up
three games to one right now after they hold off
the Rockets one oh nine, one oh six. When we

(00:52):
last left you, the Rockets had the basketball thirteen seconds left,
down by a point. What were the Rockets gonna do?
Is gonna be Sengun who had an incredible second half?
Was gonna be Fred van Vliet who had been making
dagger shots keep men. A hoop by the Rockets might
have been enough to win. And then this happened.

Speaker 2 (01:13):
Books will.

Speaker 3 (01:24):
Side Who's so Rockets?

Speaker 2 (01:28):
And Draymond Green wanted all the smoke versus shame gooon.

Speaker 1 (01:36):
And he got a TNT Kevin Harlan, Reggie Miller on
the call ate two great defensive plays you had. Draymond
Green and Shin Gun had a phenomenal second half.

Speaker 4 (01:46):
He was amazing.

Speaker 1 (01:47):
I mean, he's really becoming a huge superstar in the league.
And it was clear the Rockets had a clear out
package for him because Fred van Vliet gives a ball
up and then we're to the side and he was
on one with Draymond. He gets into the lane and
it looked like Shingoon had a little bit of it
looked like he could have kept going towards the hoop,

(02:07):
but he kind of stops to do a little turn
and like a like a one hand like almost like
a hook, and Draymond stands him up and he misses.
Jimmy Butler comes from which is not the Jimmy Butler thing,
comes flying in for the rebound from from the baseline,
gets the rebound, gets fouled. He hits both free throws.
Fred van Vliet has a desperation three at the buzzer

(02:30):
that doesn't go, and the Warriors win at one oh
nine one oh six. Now, let me tell you two
things why why The Warriors later up three to one
when when it didn't feel like, how is this gonna happen?
The Warriors they need so much from Steph and Jimmy
Butler on every event. Let me just say first thing, Defensively,
at the end of games, the Warriors know how to

(02:51):
figure it out and the Rockets don't. Right, we had
who is I think it was Kurt Healin who came
on with us or Rick Bucker came on with this
last week and said, you know who's gonna take the
shots the Rockets at the end of games?

Speaker 2 (03:01):
Ye?

Speaker 1 (03:01):
Right, Defensively, the Warriors are going to be able to
have the advantage at the end of games defensively, and
clearly they had it tonight because they put Shingun one
on one with Draymond and look how they execute it. Right,
So who's gonna take that shot? And obviously it's going
to be Shogun or it's going to be Fred van Vliet.
But this was a case where clearly the Warriors knew
what the Rockets wanted to do they were able to

(03:22):
stop it, so they have a little bit of an
advantage there. But the other thing is this is that
what the Warriors have been able to do is get
in the Rockets heads. Draymond Green has been agitating the
entire series. Right, had the early back and forth with
Dylan Brooks that resulted in three technical fouls being called.
It's been a chippy series overall. And this is what

(03:44):
the Warriors do best. Draymond gets in your head, he
affects the game. His energy then is pushed out to
the rest of his team. When Draymond has has a
loud game, it doesn't need to I don't mean stats.
He's got to have a loud game affecting the floor
with his energy, when his defense, with his attitude, when
he has one of those games, that just makes things better.

(04:05):
Like that's the one thing Draymond does he doesn't get
enough credit for, is that, Hey, in the playoffs, we
need that burst of energy, either in the middle of
the game or near the end. I'll agitate and I'll
get and the Rockets are going back and forth, and
Dylan Brooks is a willing participant on the on the
other end. And so this is keeping this this series down.
It it's it's you know, they're they're they're punching low
is what you would say, Hey, we're keeping the we're

(04:26):
keeping the series down. Towards the ground. We're not letting
it be running in a different way. It's just, hey,
we're dragging you down to this. We know that if
we play our game, if we do our thing, which
is Draymond agitating, opening things up for the rest of
the players, we keep it chippy.

Speaker 3 (04:41):
And this is not your game.

Speaker 1 (04:42):
This is not Hue, this is not anybody's game, but
this is how Draymond and the Warriors would like to
play it. And they get away with stuff. Draymond gets
away with stuff. And this is the last few games
has been a clinic on This is how Draymond is
navigating the latter portion of his career. And it's everything
that favors the rock the favors the Warrior, and none
of it favors the Rockets and the Rockets that got
caught playing the Warriors style, playing the Warriors game, getting

(05:05):
involved in back and forth, and that's why the Warriors
up three one.

Speaker 5 (05:08):
No stuff you watch with Draymond, there's a number of
plays that you're just like, all right, it's the playoffs.
That's the only way you can describe nothing further coming
from the situations. Because you had the the altercation after
the hard screen, and then Brooks taken down Steph Curry.
That results in the technicals that you talked about, a

(05:31):
lot of hugging then and then he gets into it.

Speaker 4 (05:33):
He goes to the floor with Easan and you can.

Speaker 5 (05:36):
Decide whether it's intentional unintentional that his feet end up
coming down around Easan's neck and head area, which is
a whole other probably got a hard fil Jimmy Butler
as Brooks has a breakout in the final minute of
the first half. So you had all these little bits
and sequences. I'm gonna take you into the box score,
not to do box score reading, but it'll it'll inform

(05:58):
some of the larger.

Speaker 4 (05:59):
Reasons as well.

Speaker 5 (06:00):
You limited the Warriors to under forty two percent shooting
on the night. Now they made six additional threes than
the Rockets did, So there you go. Steph doesn't have
a particularly great shooting game, two of eight from three,
six of thirteen overall. But here's where the Rockets really
did themselves in. They missed twelve free throws.

Speaker 4 (06:21):
It's a lot of free throws.

Speaker 5 (06:22):
They go nineteen to thirty one from the fall line,
so plenty of opportunities. By way of contrast, even if
you want to talk about that Jimmy Butler play where
he gets fouled by Brooks and they had to go
back to the review tap.

Speaker 3 (06:35):
He got them right.

Speaker 5 (06:36):
It was one of those hand check to the to
the waist, and obviously Jimmy's been hurt, so he's gonna
sell them. I mean, sure he's in pain, but he
can sell that a little bit more. And it's Dylan
Brooks Hence that call is going to hold up right
along the way. But you missed twelve file shots. Yeah,
and you shot nine more file shots than the Warriors did, right,

(07:00):
even with Jimmy taking those shots at that point. So
the Warriors do shoot thirty seven percent from three rockets. Conversely,
fewer attempts, fewer makes, but shot forty seven percent all
the box. More things you're checking off, all these things.
Van Vliet was fantastic. Shng goun second half was great,
didn't matter, didn't matter. Warriors hold on with the big

(07:21):
defensive stop and Jimmy Butler with the flying in rebound
which has led to a bunch of guys taking big
hip injuries.

Speaker 1 (07:28):
And like Jimmy Butler time, Jimmy Butler comes down with
the rebound he's walking, he's walking gingers and then he's fine, right,
and he's fine. He hit twelve, twelve or twelve from
the free throw line tonight. Jimmy Butler.

Speaker 4 (07:41):
Now look this, and this goes back to him.

Speaker 1 (07:43):
We talk about the Warriors, right, let's go all the
way back to the trade deadline, right, because here we
are three to one and it looks like they're getting
set for the second round of the playoffs. Is that
what did we say when the Warriors got Jimmy Butler?
This was the first part of a two part plan
that's going to be fully executed this summer when they
bring in the last star played the last star, the

(08:03):
next star they beat to continue to take advantage of
the end of Steph Curry's prime. Right, this is where
they're at now. Pezezki had a huge night tonight. He's
becoming a much bigger part of the offense. I don't
think they thought coming into this year he was gonna
be this good, but boy, he really is fitting with everything.
The Warriors are doing well. But you know, you need
that one more piece. He that one more piece. Maybe
you're missing that one more shooter that someone's gonna you know,

(08:25):
play off ball a little bit. Whatever it is, they're
gonna go get that guy, right, or maybe you say,
we're gonna go get a big down low. We're gonna
go make a big swing for Joel Embiid. But the
Warriors are one more player away from opening that window
back up for the end of Steph's prime because they
need it. Because look, look what happened in the end
of the game tonight. What happened Steph Curry had the

(08:45):
ball twice in the final minute and they had a
bigger defender on him, and he barely got a pass
off to Jimmy Butler, and then he had defenders on
him and he had a wild running one hander that
didn't go, and it gave the Rockets a chance to
win the game with thirteen seconds left. Not going to
make those shots at the end of games. Jimmy Butler's
getting a little bit older, but they are one piece away. However,

(09:06):
this is going and look, with the positionless NBA, it
could be a lot of different things, Like I love
the idea of them going to get Joel mb I
love the idea that boy and being a down low
with with Draymond, Oh my goodness, but this is a
plan that is one still one player away from opening
that window really far back up, and they're ahead of
the game.

Speaker 2 (09:23):
Now.

Speaker 1 (09:23):
They're playing better than I thought they would the rest
of this year. I thought this would be more of
a hey, let's get used to things at the end,
and are Steph and Jimmy really going to be enough?
And everything they've done so far has worked, and it's
worked even better than expected, but they still need If
you want to be a title contender, you need a
little bit more because you're still squeezing every last drop
out of Butler and Steph and it's enough here against

(09:46):
the Rockets, but now you're getting into the rarefied air
after this round where you're talking about the you're talking
about the thunder that's left, and you know, come in
probably and ascending te Wolves team that is younger and
more athletic than you are, that would cause all kinds
of problems if you wind up playing them. The Nuggets
are still the champs if they're coming out of this
and being healthy with a coach they now no longer
hate like there's there's still there's still going to be

(10:08):
at a at a at a disadvantage against whoever they
play in the next round. But it's not but it's
not so much pronounced now because the Rockets are still
kind of becoming who they're going to be to and
clearly they have been out class so far in this series.

Speaker 5 (10:21):
Yeah, I think that's where we've talked about it, uh,
you know nationally, you know, you and I. But certainly
it's an overwhelming narrative of some of these squads that
have ascended to the top of either conference that quote
haven't done it before. And whether that shows up in
any substantive means in the playoffs, only time will tell, right,

(10:42):
because we we go back to all the annals of
history and well they had to have their growing pains
against this squad and finally slay the Giant before they
were able to win titles. So that's the question for Cleveland,
that's the question for the Oklahoma City Thunder. Whether the
the Timberwolves move past the Laker and move on. You know,
they've got depth, athleticism and Edwards loves to be that

(11:05):
guy so take over game. But is this where the
veteran acumen of those three provided obviously the giant health
factor there if Jimmy Butler, I mean, how much of
that is acting versus dude, just really just trying to
get through game to game because you still have another
month and a half a playoff.

Speaker 2 (11:23):
Here.

Speaker 1 (11:23):
The thing when guys, when guys look like that and
they're wincing, and you can tell it's an act, especially
when you know, oh I'm back and I'm playing.

Speaker 4 (11:30):
Oh okay, I.

Speaker 1 (11:31):
Untied my shoes and tied them back up. Oh okay, great.
I went to the bench, I sat down, then I
tapped the floor with both my hands and I'm.

Speaker 4 (11:39):
Back up, like you know, well, I mean it is theater.

Speaker 1 (11:42):
I mean, the guys aren't walking off, Jimmy Butler's not
walking off, falling down and win sing. I mean they
know the cameras on them, they know they need to show,
they know they need to sell it out. Yeah, it's
a guys are that you can tell when guys are
down and this is this is gonna be something, This
is gonna be something.

Speaker 5 (11:58):
All said, it's still a guy in his mid thirties
that's taken a lot of bumps and played many a
weary minute.

Speaker 3 (12:03):
But in the basket you don't.

Speaker 1 (12:05):
Really care to play most of the series with the heat,
so he's probably fresh Oh did I say that out loud?

Speaker 4 (12:10):
Was that out loud? Well, I mean LA decided.

Speaker 5 (12:13):
This is how they got This is how they got
back at pat Riley and Harry Spolster for getting rid
of Jimmy Butler.

Speaker 4 (12:20):
You know what, We're not even gonna try. Oh no, no, no,
I'm just gonna let it keep going. Where's your fifth guy?
Oh he's out there in Spirit.

Speaker 1 (12:27):
Exit out a bout of Fresco, exit swollen dome. Jason Smith,
Mike Harmon. But look, make no mistakes. You have a
lot of guys having big series right now, right, I mean,
Pitzemski is. Look, he's becoming, he's growing with every every
game he plays. But the Warriors are in up three
to one without Draymond and and that's and that's the
thing is in the playoffs, his energy, his attitude, his

(12:51):
annoyances of the the other team. It it it takes
you away from your focus. Like he he I look
at him like he's the MVP of the series right now.

Speaker 5 (13:00):
Well, what's funny, Jason is we we go always go
back through And you had Beeheim for years and now
the meme is going around in Chicago with you know,
some of the crazed looks on the face of Ben
Johnson as he's talking to draft picks. You always have
the I hate that guy when he's with somebody else,
But now he's my monster, right. You defend anything with

(13:22):
Beeheim for years, My monster defend anything now in Chicago.
Hated watching some of the Wow where does he get
those wonderful toys moments for Ben Johnson And I'll cry
the first time he has a tackle, throw a pass
for the Bears, But damnit, he's my monster now. Draymond
Green's that same guy right for the White Sox years ago.
I had Aya Perziski when he was with the Twins,

(13:44):
all the little things, and then he comes to Chicago.
My gosh, everybody hates Draymond Green.

Speaker 4 (13:51):
Is that guy. You may hate him, you may not
like the antics.

Speaker 5 (13:55):
And there's several of these things that I'm sure that
are going to go through the suppruter or film of
frame by frame. I'm a boy that was an intentional
foot here there, wherever.

Speaker 6 (14:03):
Uh.

Speaker 5 (14:03):
But if he was on your squad, hey man, he
plays to the edge of the rules. He's fighting the commission,
the referees, daring him to throw him out because after
you pick up that first technical and then they're going
back to the review on several of the things you did,
and you just put a toweler on your neck and
a smile. That's that's what we all aspire to be.

(14:24):
That Draymond Green moment of I gonna throw me out.

Speaker 1 (14:27):
I mean, he scored twenty five points in the series,
and I can say they're not winning without him. They're
not They're not up three to one without Draymond. That
that's the effect he's having on this series. So he
won't go on his podcast and say he hates you. No,
he's probably recording his podcast right now. He could be
exit altbout a Fresco Exit Swelling Dome. Jason Smith Mike Harmon.
Coming up next, we'll have more reaction from this game

(14:50):
with Golden State and the Rockets, plus the NBA team
that should be absolutely embarrassed to the extent if the
league kicked him out, I couldn't argue with relegation. That's

Speaker 1 (16:17):
Fox Sports Radio. The Jason Smith Show with My best
Friend Mike Harmon Frostburg's in the Other Room introducing tysher
to letter Kenny. If you watch I just finding out
about this Letter Kenny is hilarious. You watch, you go,
oh my god, this show is hysterical, and it is.

(16:38):
It's I'll tell you know what it's like. It's like
if you saw and hard to say better because it
was so good. It's like a better Napoleon Dynamite. Okay, right, Frostburg'
that's pretty accurate. Letter Kenny's kind of a little bit
better Napoleon Dynamite. Wait, sorry, are you talking to me? Yes,
they're watching Letter Kenny. Would you say, Letter Kenny is

(17:00):
like a better Napoleon Dynamite. That's how I would describe
the show.

Speaker 3 (17:03):
It's yes, that is accurate. The writing's just yeah, incredible.

Speaker 1 (17:09):
Oh it's okay. The hockey guys are my favorite. So
now I have to binge this when I get you'll.

Speaker 4 (17:16):
Watch one and go, oh my god.

Speaker 1 (17:18):
If you know what, Letter Kenny's a show where you're like,
you'll have to stop go I gotta go to sleep.

Speaker 4 (17:21):
And I'm just laughing so hard.

Speaker 3 (17:23):
It's impossible not to laugh.

Speaker 1 (17:25):
Well, we all need some laughter, we all need some levity. Yeah,
no question speaking that we'll get to one hundred men
versus a gorilla in a minute.

Speaker 4 (17:32):
But yeah, let's go.

Speaker 1 (17:33):
Look, I gotta say this, right, we watched as far
as you know, it's not We talked about the Warriors
win a few minutes ago here over the Rockets, and
despite the fact he scored twenty five points in the series,
Draymond Green is the MVP of the series. Jimmy Buckets
is having a great series, hitting big free throws. But man,
I'll tell you, Draymond Green's the MVP.

Speaker 4 (17:53):
Glue maybe glue.

Speaker 3 (17:54):
But speaking of.

Speaker 1 (17:55):
Jimmy Buckets, I don't know that I'm more embarrassed for
an NBA team that I've been in quite a long time.
Then how embarrassed I am at what the heat put
out there the last two games of this series against
the Cavaliers. Right, they lose by thirty in Game three,
and they absolutely quit because they lose by fifty five
in Game four tonight, again, they were losing seventy two

(18:18):
to thirty three at halftime. It's like Belichicks as in
Jordan Hudson's age. I mean, seventy two thirty three at
half time, like that's that's and it's at home, and
it's embarrassing on so many levels. Like if the NBA said, hey, Miami,
this is just terrible. We're relegating you. I couldn't say no,
Like pat Riley's got to not answer the phone, go
on vacation and just stay away for a while. Because

(18:40):
it's a heat. Players shouldn't even wear their gear.

Speaker 3 (18:42):
You play for the heat.

Speaker 1 (18:43):
No, no, no, man, I'm a teacher. I teach and
teach a elementary school.

Speaker 3 (18:48):
But you're really tough.

Speaker 4 (18:49):
You have a bucket hat, are.

Speaker 3 (18:50):
You, Tyler hero?

Speaker 7 (18:51):
No no, no, no, no, no no.

Speaker 1 (18:53):
My name is Roger Murdoch, kid, Roger Murder. I would
even admit that I play for That's how embarrassing this
effort's been the last two game.

Speaker 4 (19:01):
It's really kind of insane.

Speaker 5 (19:03):
The because the hallmark of the heat for years has
been effort right, not always with the superstar leading the charge.
Good to great and Jimmy Butler decide where you want
to put him on the pantheon A pantheonic players here
of the last fifteen twenty years.

Speaker 4 (19:20):
But you always got effort right. It's what made them
fun to watch.

Speaker 5 (19:25):
Playoff Jimmy, and you know, for forty eight minutes, I'm
getting an honest effort out of this squad.

Speaker 4 (19:30):
Yeah, and this was well up.

Speaker 1 (19:32):
Until the playoff Jim, up until this year where he decided,
I don't want to play for the heat anymore and
I'm quitting.

Speaker 5 (19:36):
Well, but that's a whole other fight in the battle.
And look, I can't I can't speak to the man like.

Speaker 1 (19:41):
The opposite of quiet quitting. It's like loud quitting. I'm
loud quitting.

Speaker 4 (19:44):
Well, but I respect that right. Go back to James
harden Hey.

Speaker 5 (19:48):
For those in the back he was overseas when he
said he didn't want to be with the Rockets. Hey,
if you missed it the first time, let me say
it again. I play it for these guys, but for
the heat. That was what they were built on. This
for this game eight and a half. Okay, so Cavaliers
were favored on the road at eight and a half.
I showed you the live betting line with about three
minutes left, it got up to fifty seven and.

Speaker 4 (20:10):
A half.

Speaker 3 (20:12):
Seven and a half NBA playoff game.

Speaker 4 (20:14):
They just put up a.

Speaker 5 (20:15):
Graphic in the post with Shaq and Kenny and Charles
and their worst playoff losses. They all lost at least
one game by thirty three or more points.

Speaker 4 (20:24):
All three of them.

Speaker 5 (20:27):
Just amazing, right, and for the heat. Yeah, it was
not a great season. You know, you're well under five hundred,
but you battled to get to this point. You battled
through the little play in stuff, and then you come
out here and look, nobody expected you to compete for
the series or even probably to win a game.

Speaker 4 (20:48):
Right.

Speaker 5 (20:48):
I don't know that you would have had any other
money than sweeps up on the board for the most part.
But the reality is you at least still expect did
an eck an effort like coming out of the gate.

Speaker 4 (21:02):
If it gets away in the third and fourth quarter.

Speaker 5 (21:05):
We see that all the time in sports, Right, game's
not going your way, pack it up, you're done in
this case, pack it up. It's time for vacation. But
they did that in the first quarter and got absolutely blitzed.
And to show you what what kind of night it was,
the end of the third quarter, Ty Jerome just pulls
up from just inside half court. He just trucks it
up for a three, and everybody's just looking around. He

(21:27):
does the Jordan shoulder shrug and everything else, and it's
just a laugh for all the way through.

Speaker 1 (21:32):
I mean, Kenny Aathetic didn't he use a challenge when
they were up by forty he used to coach.

Speaker 4 (21:37):
I got it up by doesn't do you any good
into the off season. Can I stack these and carry
him out?

Speaker 6 (21:44):
No?

Speaker 1 (21:44):
Go, well, I use a So you're up forty three
and you want to be up forty five.

Speaker 5 (21:49):
Yes, yes, yes, but yeah it doesn't carry forward to
the next series or anything.

Speaker 4 (21:53):
So yeah, I'm waiting.

Speaker 1 (21:55):
But you know, I haven't seen I haven't seen a
lot of those heat culture tweets that always popular whenever
the Heat pull out some kind of big one Heat culture,
Heat culture, your entire organization quit again. I'm more embarrassed
for the Heat than maybe any team that I could
be in recent years, because this is I mean, you
lost two games by eighty five points. You just did

(22:15):
not care, man, Okay, pat Riley, try to spin that
one for me. Try to spin it.

Speaker 4 (22:20):
Oh.

Speaker 5 (22:20):
Everybody also saying that he wasn't gonna blink with Jimmy Butler,
like he already lost that one because he did. Right,
He could have just said, all right, you're gonna sit out,
We're not gonna get.

Speaker 4 (22:31):
Rid of you.

Speaker 1 (22:32):
But he did exit outb out a fresca exit swollen Dome,
Jason Smith, Mike Carmon Live Tonight, as we always are
from our studios here at Fox Sports Radio, We'll get
into the biggest social media debate of the last couple
of days, something that has almost a billion views on
social media. But first, a guy who's been called the

(22:53):
pat Riley of Fox Sports Radio tell us what's trending
in the wide world of sports. He used the same
product on their hair. No, it's Steve the Seger.

Speaker 3 (23:04):
Okay, thank you. There was a pause. You didn't even
know where you were going.

Speaker 4 (23:08):
I had no idea where that was. I had choices.
I had a choice. I leaned forward.

Speaker 1 (23:13):
My other choice was going to be because he likes
to tell people if you got the guts to stay,
but it said I went with the hair product.

Speaker 6 (23:21):
Pat Riley former Lakers color analyst on radio, by the way,
before he ever became and he was, you know, actually
to bring us to the Mets game today.

Speaker 4 (23:32):
That was Paul west Head, right, he took over for
Paul Westead. He went from the radio booth to.

Speaker 3 (23:36):
Take it over, right, he wound up going to the
bench and then yeah, exactly, and it.

Speaker 1 (23:39):
Was an Oscar Hey, doctor Buss, I could do it
better than the who are you?

Speaker 4 (23:45):
I'm the radio guy?

Speaker 3 (23:45):
Yeah, go ahead.

Speaker 6 (23:47):
There was a favorite old show of both Ben Maller
and I and many others in LA growing up of
Jim Healy that would play sound clips kind of like
we have going through this show tonight, except always on
was some Tommy lesorda rant like the Dave Kingman game
that we talked about last week, which I was brought
to mind tonight.

Speaker 3 (24:06):
Well, I'll get to that in a moment.

Speaker 6 (24:08):
And also another one was pat Riley as Laker cutlor Analysts,
where he actually said I've seen more shoven in the
men's room. That was wow, debating the lack of physical
play in the paint. And so the guy becomes head
coach and nobody, I mean nobody expected this kind of
career from the guy, and so he's built Miami and

(24:28):
they've had so much winning, and that head coach Bolster
has been there so long, and then they give us
this a thirty seven and forty five season fall apart.

Speaker 3 (24:38):
After the Butler trade.

Speaker 6 (24:40):
Finally out of our misery watching the Heat, they're down
three games to none coming into tonight, and then they
lose even worse than they did over the weekend. These
are the worst two playoff losses the franchise has ever suffered.
These last two games, they lost by fifty five to
Cleveland tonight, one thirty eight to eighty three. Tyler Herro
from three point hi range one for nine. Calves were

(25:02):
actually up sixty with about a minute to go, and
Cleveland did not have Darius Garland out again with a
sprain tote. Well Mark Price either, Yeah, and many others
down the Brad Dougherty Brad Dougherty was not there.

Speaker 4 (25:13):
No Craig e Low, No Craig Elow.

Speaker 6 (25:16):
Tonight Golden State feat. Houston one oh nine, one six. Yeah,
Houston did not have Drexler or Barkley, no Ajuan.

Speaker 4 (25:24):
Oh no, no, you know, eliju Wa would have hit
that little runner in the lane.

Speaker 6 (25:27):
I mean he would have hit the last shot over
of Draymond Green a freaky couch, I said Samson.

Speaker 4 (25:32):
But the probably result would have been the same, So
forget about that.

Speaker 1 (25:35):
Wow.

Speaker 6 (25:35):
Oh Sampson had the game winner against the Lakers's long
Hair and didn't drink wine. Jimmy Butler returned for the
Warriors after last week's fall and scored twenty seven points
Golden State on free throws twenty of twenty two, winning
a close game to go up three games to one,
and the NHL Florida four to two over Tampa Bay.

(25:56):
Dallas beat Colorado six to two. The Penguins fired, which
Mike Sullivan after ten seasons.

Speaker 3 (26:02):
Now the Mets.

Speaker 6 (26:03):
One of the best RBI games ever had been Dave
Kingman's three homer game at Dodger Stadium back in the seventies.
And what do you know, Brandon Nimmo, who averages up
to two eighteen now had two homers nine RBIs at
Washington today.

Speaker 4 (26:18):
He's having a good ear.

Speaker 6 (26:19):
Now now he's having a good It's like Andy Pa
has weekend at the plate for the Dodgers.

Speaker 1 (26:23):
Suddenly he looks like a real hitter. Nine hours ago
it was Brandon Nimmo one of the worst contracts. Oh
one night, get you Yeah, four for six, four runs scored.
The Mets won nineteen to five at the Nationals. In fact,
they led fifteen nothing in the eighth inning. Yeah, Jose
Urita tried his best to come in and give up
a lot of runs in the last he got to save. Yeah,

(26:44):
he gotta save. They're up fifteen nothing. He came in,
he got to save you.

Speaker 6 (26:47):
Any meanwhile, and infielder pitching the ninth that would seemingly
never end against the Mets.

Speaker 3 (26:52):
But I'm gonna ask, see, I forget that.

Speaker 1 (26:54):
There's something about the Mets record that I'm what, what
is that fact about the Mets record.

Speaker 6 (26:59):
The fact that it never going to be eleven games
over five hundred again the rest of the season.

Speaker 4 (27:03):
Yeah no, no, you're you're living in denial.

Speaker 1 (27:05):
Something about their record and where it ranks in Major
League Baseball right now?

Speaker 6 (27:09):
I forget, what are twenty and nine, right The Dodgers
are nineteen and ten, as are the Giants, as I.

Speaker 1 (27:15):
Recalled, So not quite as good as the Mets, that
is correct, and the Mets, so that makes the Mets
what really good? So third best record in baseball? Fourth
best record? I'm pretty sure what has someone around there?

Speaker 4 (27:27):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (27:27):
Okay, all right, I mean I haven't done the math, but.

Speaker 4 (27:29):
Higher than that.

Speaker 3 (27:30):
Maybe Detroit was eighteen and ten. Yeah no, not as good?
Yeah no, not as good.

Speaker 6 (27:34):
Detroit wound up losing with Jack Flowherty on the mound
eight five at Houston. Flowerty gave up four runs in
five innings. The Dodger win was in ten over Miami
seven to six. This after LA had a five nothing
victory through five. Eventually Tommy Edmund game winning two runs single.
Dodger pitcher Tyler Glass now hurt yesterday went on the il.
He has a bad shoulder, so does pitcher Blake Snell.

(27:56):
Dodgers with thirteen pitchers on the injured list at the
moment at Atlanta six y three.

Speaker 4 (28:01):
Winter Cofax, is he okay?

Speaker 3 (28:02):
Colorado? Believe me, if he could throw, they would get.

Speaker 4 (28:05):
Him, okay.

Speaker 3 (28:06):
Jerry Royce, Yeah, probably not at this point.

Speaker 4 (28:10):
Dave Goltz, Rick Roadin, Rick ro.

Speaker 6 (28:13):
Sure, nice, sure, nice grab get wait for the celebrity
golf tournament. Colorado's lost seven in a row. They've lost
fifteen of sixteen. Lost at home sixty three to the Braves.

Speaker 4 (28:24):
Brand Penny, okay, you get a pitch.

Speaker 3 (28:26):
I forgot completely.

Speaker 6 (28:28):
I've had Brad Penny, and it's more recent than any
of these other guys.

Speaker 4 (28:34):
Dave Golds greater than Brad Penny.

Speaker 3 (28:36):
Okay, Well, you know Dave Golds. I can remember him
blowing the pennant in today. Brad Penny, I just remember
that he liked horses.

Speaker 6 (28:44):
Aside from that, you know, and he made he made
the clubhouse guy drink milk and throw up that one time.

Speaker 3 (28:51):
Aside from that, I don't have any other Brad Penny stores.

Speaker 5 (28:55):
I don't think you need any. I think enough I
get you through any party or social sectary.

Speaker 6 (29:00):
I mean a half gallon of milk. I'm not kidding
on this. It really made the kid sick, but of
course the players loved it. The A's were two one
winners at Texas. Cincinnati won its fifth straight three to
one over Saint Louis. Baltimore led the Yankees for nothing
going to the seventh four to three. The final Mets
and Minnesota with lopsided victories, and finally in the NFL,

(29:22):
Packers signed linebacker Isaiah Simmons. The Browns signed wide receiver
Deontae Johnson.

Speaker 1 (29:27):
Back to you, Thank you, Steve, though so nearly a
billion views later on social media. The one hundred men
versus a gorilla? Who wins debate still rageous. Yeah you
showed me a video tonight that a enterprising Twitter account
put together of a video of what a computer computer

(29:47):
simulation of a Silverback gorilla would be against one hundred men,
and the debate is who would win in a fight,
would it be the gorilla or the hundred men who
would kill everybody with the gorilla?

Speaker 3 (29:58):
Kill everybody with the hundred men, kill the gorilla.

Speaker 4 (30:00):
Are they trained martial artists like Steven segall Uh?

Speaker 1 (30:05):
Well, here's see, here's where we get down to it, right,
because you open up, you open up a point. So
the general consensus has been all the silver back gorilla
will win. This is kind of like that Tim Kirkchin
conversation from like ten years ago where he said Tim
Kirkchen in the best content, if you put a grizzly
bear at midfield and you had a NFL returner returning

(30:27):
a kick, could he get by the grizzly bear? With
the grizzly bear, catch him and eat him? And that
became this huge topic and of course the grizzly bear,
where the grizzly bear is faster than the man. But
here's where I go with the men over the silver
back gorilla. Okay, which is a very heavy individual, right.

Speaker 3 (30:42):
Well, I just look at her fierce.

Speaker 5 (30:44):
Yeah, we're talking typically between three and eighty five, yes, range,
So let's go to the average of about four thirty.

Speaker 1 (30:53):
Okay, So let's go out four to thirty. Everybody thinks
the gorilla would win. Now, in theory, a gorilla would
win because well, okay, you have one hundred people, and
how are they gonna attack. Okay, but the gorilla is
fighting for his life.

Speaker 4 (31:05):
Yeah, gorilla is in it.

Speaker 1 (31:06):
It's it's it's I either win or I die. If
the hundred people that are in there are men who
also know they're in a fight or die situation where
either you know they have to fight or die, or
there are people who want to fight, I'll take the
hundred men over the gorilla because all you got to
do is attack the gorilla all at once. Everybody runs

(31:26):
at him at once, and yes, there will be some deaths.
Not everybody's gonna make it about one hundred of them.

Speaker 3 (31:32):
There will be some.

Speaker 1 (31:32):
Really now, there'll be some bad bodies left over. Guys
will be grabbing arms to hit the gorilla with.

Speaker 3 (31:38):
But if you.

Speaker 1 (31:42):
If you would, if you've all hundred people surround the
gorilla and attack him all at once, the men win
because you're talking about three thousand, like probably close to
three thousand pounds of men that are gonna be on
top of a three hundred and fifty pound gorilla. They
would smother him to death. Long is now if it's
like you and me, people like you and me, like

(32:03):
I don't want to fight this gorilla, Like then I
could see where the gorilla with the girl?

Speaker 5 (32:06):
Well, everybody I look in the end. I've always said,
when when it's my time, I want it to be
something different. I don't want to just you know, ump
over in a chair and a heart.

Speaker 4 (32:15):
That I don't know that you want to be heyl.

Speaker 1 (32:17):
About gorilla, but he'll be headlines everywhere. He would rip
your arm off and hit you over the head with it,
but I'd probably bleed out before I knew he was.
Here's Mike Harmon being beaten to death with his own
left arm. Boy, I'll tell you that arm that couldn't
throw a ball for the last twenty years now really
be accused of just crush his.

Speaker 5 (32:36):
Head like he's a guy that's in desperate need of
shoulder surgery that he's keeping putting off.

Speaker 3 (32:41):
But nah, let's mocket.

Speaker 1 (32:43):
There's another way that I that that I know how
to win, right, Okay, now you've come up with an
altern different way.

Speaker 5 (32:49):
Right, Here's how I would win if I was so
the sequel to be one hundred. Yeah, like against the girl.

Speaker 3 (32:54):
There's your strategy.

Speaker 1 (32:55):
A hundred people have to go at him right away,
say okay, some people are gonna die. But because then
you would smother them, you would ki that you would kill.

Speaker 5 (33:00):
Figure, what where are we going? Two hundred pounds of person?

Speaker 4 (33:05):
Yeah, one hundred of that. That's that's you know, how
many pounds is that?

Speaker 3 (33:08):
That's too many?

Speaker 1 (33:09):
That's that's you know, you're talking about thousands of pounds
of people on top of him at once. It's gonna
look like a scene out of twenty eight days later
when everybody's just run, or World War zero or all
the zombies just overrun. That's what's gonna look like.

Speaker 5 (33:22):
Say, I fear that they all kind of trip over
each other trying to get to some gorilla, and then
all of a sudden he's just stomping on top of him.

Speaker 1 (33:30):
He that's twenty thousand pounds of people on top of
a gorilla. I'm sorry, he's not gonna be able to move. Sorry,
he's not gonna have gorilla.

Speaker 3 (33:35):
You're doing?

Speaker 7 (33:36):
What do you think is gonna happen? You think he's
just gonna lie on the ground and let them dog
pile him. No, but wind all, well, they're getting killed.
If one hundred people are jumping on top of the
grill at once.

Speaker 1 (33:46):
Moving science the gorilla, the gorilla fee, there's gonna be
ten or fifteen deaths the people who are closer to
the first guy that gets there.

Speaker 3 (33:56):
That doesn't matter.

Speaker 5 (33:56):
He's getting obliterated, right, which means everybody else's back.

Speaker 4 (34:01):
Every guy goes in it once.

Speaker 7 (34:03):
Everybody goes from step brothers at the end on the
America round punch off thee.

Speaker 3 (34:08):
Now everybody goes in it once, and that's how it's
gonna go.

Speaker 1 (34:11):
Like again, the first twenty most of them will die,
but they'll be the weight on top of the grilla
where he can't move. Again, twenty thousand pounds of people
on top of a gorilla.

Speaker 3 (34:19):
It's too much.

Speaker 5 (34:20):
What would be great in this social experiment? As if
the gorilla just kind of sat down and chilled.

Speaker 3 (34:25):
Yeah, well no, here's like, wait, I thought he was
gonna fight. Here's how I win. Here's how I win.

Speaker 1 (34:30):
You would exactly how I Let's say you put a
hundred of people like you and me that don't want
to fight the gorilla round. Okay, so what I do
is I I I run out of the way, and
I either pretend I'm dead, hide under somebody who's dead,
or stay away from the gorilla until he gets really tired,
like killing one hundred people. Believe people, No, he wouldn't.

(34:51):
He's like killing like ninety some odd people. He's gonna
get tired, so then he's gonna fall asleep. Then I
steak up on him and I hit him with a rock,
and that's how I win.

Speaker 3 (35:01):
That's how I win. The Hunger Games, too.

Speaker 5 (35:03):
Always goes back to nine eighty seven classic The Princess Pride.

Speaker 1 (35:07):
I wait till he's asleep, and they come up behind him,
and I hit him in the head with a rock,
and that's how I win.

Speaker 3 (35:13):
Are you trying to become Wallace Shawn? How long can
the gorilla be?

Speaker 4 (35:17):
I'm tired. I eat a nap right now, Okay, the
gorilla falls asleep, and then.

Speaker 3 (35:20):
I sleep up with a big rock and I bat
him in the head, and I win.

Speaker 4 (35:24):
That's how I win. Here's the problem, though, if you
introduce the rock and failed.

Speaker 3 (35:30):
I don't mean the rock, No you can't.

Speaker 4 (35:32):
I don't mean. Dwayne Johnson comes rolling.

Speaker 5 (35:34):
In the final Boss you Gotta you gotta because he
didn't show up for WrestleMania, even though they show sold
shirts and said the rocks. Well, but I mean you
talked about the rock. If you don't get the job
done with that rock, he's got a weapon. Now, it
doesn't mean you've just killed everybody else.

Speaker 1 (35:50):
One shot one David and Goliath and Don David, except
I'm right up next to him.

Speaker 4 (35:54):
With a huge rock and I hit him in the head.

Speaker 3 (35:59):
Coming up.

Speaker 4 (35:59):
And how about this?

Speaker 1 (36:02):
The NBA has apologized the Lakers and the Pistons for
bad calls at the end of the fourth quarter of
their recent games. I have a way to solve this
so this doesn't come up again. How that's next? Right here?

Fox Sports Radio The Jason Smith Show with My best
friend Mike Harmon.

Speaker 4 (37:37):
Oho. So here we are.

Speaker 1 (37:39):
Big night in the NBA, big win by the Warriors,
and the NBA started the night off by apologizing to
the Lakers a day after they apologize to the Pistons
for erroneous calls that were not made during.

Speaker 3 (37:55):
Their most recent games.

Speaker 1 (37:57):
The NBA apologizing to the Pissed a day ago saying, hey,
Josh Hart kind of felled Tim Hardaway Junior in the corner.
You probably should have been shooting free throws. And they
apologize the Lakers today that in the final fifteen seconds
of the Lakers Game four loss to the Tea Wolves, Hey, luka,
Doncic got fouled. He probably should have been the free

(38:17):
throw line to give the Lakers a lead.

Speaker 4 (38:19):
All right, now, I'm a hey, probably, yeah, but what
can you do now?

Speaker 1 (38:27):
I love the fact that we're still we're at a
point where the NBA comes out with a two minute
report and they understand, hey, we screwed it up, we
screwed it up. But in the end, it's not really
giving you anything. It say, yeah, we know we screwed up. Yeah,
but we're still seeing the two minute reports. We're still
seeing the the the mistakes that are made. What is
the result going to be? What's the result going to be?

Speaker 4 (38:48):
And you can't find it? Oh yeah, Well we move
guys around already.

Speaker 1 (38:51):
At NBA officiating, No one trusts any of the officials,
So what does it matter who gets to officiate who does.

Speaker 3 (38:56):
Sure, here's my way.

Speaker 1 (38:58):
It's an easy way to fix it, right because first
of all, I go back to boy jib bickerstaff, dude
using a challenge in the first quarter when you're up
ten to eight, like what the hell are you doing? Like, well,
you know, predy crazy.

Speaker 4 (39:09):
Come on, it was burning a hole in his pocket.

Speaker 1 (39:11):
So he's my dad with money. So here's how to
fix it. I had to had to drag Walt.

Speaker 3 (39:18):
That's my dad.

Speaker 1 (39:18):
Every time he's got he's got five dollars, go buy something.
But here's how I fix this, right, because I'm a
I'm a problem solver. Give every coach one challenge to
use in the final minute. Doesn't expire during the game, everybody,
when you get to the final minute. If you want
to do it just in the playoffs, that's fine, but

(39:40):
the end of games are really important and you want
to be able to let it. Coach say, hey, I
can use my my challenge. I use a challenge here,
but give all coaches a challenge in the final minute.
Even if you wanted to just be a point where
you can challenge a foul call, either a foul that
you don't believe was a foul or a foul that
didn't get caught that you think was right. Give up

(40:02):
because the referee are gonna look at all the balls
out of bounds and who gets the possession here, and
they're gonna look at all that. But if you want
to get no matter what you have, you have a
coach's challenge in the final minute. Everybody gets one in
the final minute, everybody wins. We don't have the stories
like this. And I'm telling you he's a Knicks fan.
I'm telling you I'd be okay with it because harder
Way is a ninety percent shooter from the free throw line.
He'd have gone to the free throw line and hit

(40:23):
two shots. And if that series is two too, Luca
would have hit two free throws and then maybe the
Tea Wolves come down and score, maybe they don't, maybe
that series is still too too. So yeah, I'm okay
with that. I'm okay give everybody that challenge that they
can have in the final minute of games where you
can go back and look at it and every and
and and and look at stuff like that, and then okay,

(40:43):
and then then you then you stop problems like this
from happening throughout the NBA.

Speaker 5 (40:48):
Or how about you have to be right with your
other challenge. See we introduced the NFL chick well and
that's okay. You want you want you look, it's it's
a hard thing for coach. I want to be able
to know when to use it again. But it comes
down to this, right, It's like the fact that they
have these two minute reports. Now, all they do is
infuriate people because what's the accountability. I mean, you get
a downgrade and you're officiating.

Speaker 4 (41:10):
No one.

Speaker 1 (41:11):
No one cares when an official gets gets gets kicked
out of a game. No one cares if a guy
doesn't get to do a playoff game. Because we keep
this keeps happening. It's not like, well the guys out
of this and now it's gone away systemically and hasn't changing.
We're replacing guys that make bad calls with other officials
who make bad calls.

Speaker 3 (41:26):
So how does that help. It doesn't.

Speaker 5 (41:27):
You're just getting stacks of letters saying sorry you lost
that game. Maybe it could have been different and we
got this call right here. Here's a video of us
simulating this, and stay tuned for the extra edition of
one hundred Guys Against a Gorilla. All of thatts to say,
I think your your opportunity here has merit in that
you're already going to the the well for all those

(41:50):
different situations.

Speaker 4 (41:51):
What's one more?

Speaker 1 (41:52):
Yeah, and it's at the end of the game. No
one cares.

Speaker 5 (41:54):
It's important. You get it right, it's important. And it's
only being called if the game's being contested.

Speaker 4 (41:59):
Yeah, right right. But that you can those time management people,
you can use it however you want to do it.
That takes care. We now join our regular program.

Speaker 1 (42:07):
Already in program Exit A by the Fresca Exit Swallen Dome,
