I like celebrating because you know this is about as
good as it gets. You Fine, it may be so

because I'm still thinking back a little bit not not

people from Modern Family, they're not really doing a lot.

their posts Modern Family run and now, okay, I will

I will give you this bold prediction. We are less
than six months way from the announcement of a Modern
Family reboot. They're going to go back and do one
of those not a reboot, but more same show, but
now these years later, and it's going to be Modern Family.

Now on the plus side, Julie Bowen's gonna be in
Happy Gilmore Part two, so we've all won there.
Speaker 1 (05:17):
Yeah, she said she was afraid she was gonna get
replaced by Sidney Sweeney. That's what our kids were telling her.

Yeah, that Sidney Sweeney would be a cart girl or

And look, take the checks as they come, but certainly

the consistency of a network paycheck, no question about it.

No, And then you can bring everybody back and they're

last of the big hits where everybody were big superstars
and everybod's getting paid a lot of money. Yeah, probably

six months away from from from a Modern Family new
season with the original cast getting announced.

Because you have that and then you have the animated
version of Married with Children now, so we'll get that.

more on the NBA Finals, right, we made our picks
a few minutes ago. We're getting ready for game one
tomorrow night between the Thunder and the Pacers, and of
course the Pacers are playing the US against the World
card and you know, they basically have said, I mean,
they basically have said, it's always been us versus everyone.

They're embracing the challenge. They understand. Pascal Siakam'm saying, I
don't think we expect anyone to pick us. Yeah, great,
that's great, that's all. Yes, yes, yeah, live on that,
Live on that. That ain't gonna help you. Okay, that's
not gonna help you. And one of the reasons, another reason,
you know why I'm saying thunder and five is because
the Thunder as well as they've played, don't they look
(08:35):
like they still have a level to get to where
we're all playing our best basketball at the same time.
As well as they're playing, they look like they still
have a little bit more to get to. Meanwhile, the Pacers,
they've played the best basketball they have played individually and
as a team forever. All right, like this is Tyre's
Halliburton had two all time great NBA games against the Knicks.

Pascalciakam had two all time NBA great games against the Necks.
Best games of these guys careers. Halliburton had two of them,
Siakam had two of them. Nie Smith had one of them. Right,
and then you had matthren with two of them coming
off the bench, playing eighteen minutes, scoring thirty five points
in each game. You saw an incredible performance by the

Pacers against Knicks, and that's one thing that doesn't get
as much attention as that, Hey, yeah, the Knicks blue
Game one, and I still can't get over it. But
the Pacers played at such a high level. I give
them all kinds of credit because that was the best
they were gonna play. They were motivated to play the Knicks,
they wanted to play the Knicks, and they played at
such a They're gonna get a bounce this series. They're
not gonna continue to play at that level, not against

the better opponent. They're not gonna get the shots and
not gonna hit it with that confidence. It's gonna be
a much much tougher sledding. But just the odds in
the math that tells you when a team plays the
best they can play in a game, you're not gonna
continue that in the next series. You're gonna get a bounce.
And that's that's another reason why I look at this
and go, Man, if the Pacers get one game, they
should be happy.

Nine and a half point underdogs are the for Game one.
We talked about it in terms of series odds plus
four seventy five, So bet you one hundred to win
four seventy five minus six fifty going the other way,
which implies about an eighty seven percent probability of the
Oklahoma City Thunder raising the Larry O'Brien.

But all with to say, you know, one of the.

Disconcerting and I guess it's hot take nonsense gone amuck
the last few days. Obviously Thibodeau gets bounced by the Knicks,
but was the dismissiveness towards their team.

And their run.

Now, it was choppy during the season, and it's not
that everybody was playing nice sandbox and got along and
now we're hearing the well, I didn't know about it,
You knew your role. You were sitting on your ass
because you weren't one of the seven guys in the rotation,
or you know when it extended to eight. But all
of that to say, suddenly it was the Knicks were

no good, got lucky, et cetera, which is just a fallacy. Okay,
were they a perfect team? Clearly defensively they had lapses,
but you had offense. You had two players in Brunson
and Cat that you most Knights could pencil in their
offensive stats and hope that they were functional and could

get picked up on the defensive end. Indiana, to me
is curious just because of their depth, because you have
some of the length that can match up well. A
guy like Siakam had a huge series against the Knicks,
but he was their leading scorer during the year. Right
as much as we celebrate the heroics, the historyonics, the
(11:34):
character that is Tyrese Halliburton and his dad, Pascal Siakam
was their leading scorer. You don't have to like it,
but that is fact. And it was just a shade
over twenty points a game, so not a dominant run.
And you had a number of guys in that fourteen
to twenty point range, which means you've got depth and
you don't need someone to take over on a nightly basis.
That's why I give him the Punchers chance to extend.

I still think the thunder are better. We've talked about
their defensive stars obviously have Champion Dorton Holmgron going back
to their origin stories at this point, but with Sga
playing the level of basketball that he has and even
on games where he's not dominating, it becomes that quiet
thing that we've talked about. He's still at twenty eight,
(12:17):
he's still at thirty. He slows things down if he
needs to to get to the line, but they also
push like anything. And that's the one part for Indiana
which was such an advantage against the Knicks that gets
torn away here is that the Thunder will match that intensity.
The fast break differential to fifty to fifty balls were
not going to be one sided, and that's where the

battle gets won ultimately in this series. Why I think
the Thunder win win out is that you do have
that consistency of the superstar which you leaned on last
round to get them through. So that's why I give
Sga and company the win. But I think the Pacers
will be game and give a game f for time

and time and Miles Turner and Matheren, who look, he'll
muddy it up. That's the thing that I think is
the most curious. How early do we see him in
the series where there were a couple times with the Knicks.
Fro'm like, I don't know that he's playing basketball anymore,
but it certainly is affecting the game now. He was
to end up scoring twenty points and whatever, But the
point is, in those twelve minutes he was also disruptive

and can he get the Thunder off of the block
in that regard? I time to tell you, and I'll
be watching even if America as a whole does not.

Look and let me button it with this. The Thunder
are a team that has their defensive identity and knows
exactly what they want to do. The Knicks were a
team that didn't have one and tried to find something
on the fly against the Pacers. Right, that's another reason why. Hey,
the pace is what they did they Oh wait a minute,
this is completely different from what we have seen in

the end make and you could convince yourself we're great. Yeah,
we know it's coming up, but it's a different thing
when you step on the court and you have to
actually do it. I mean, a team looking for their
identity flaming bad defensively versus a team that is locked
in and probably the best defensive team in the in
the NBA. Yeah, it's it's gonna be a short series.
Sodeikas show up as a as a Pacers fan. Oh
you have to, Yeah, you don't know how long it's

gonna go fan before Yeah, but that doesn't matter. You
forget about that.

but I'm like, I like being able to go to
Google and typing in something and getting an answer right away. Right.
I like getting answer something to you that that's not

maybe AI is not as smart as I think it is.
Because there was that story from a couple of days
ago where Mission Impossible came out and someone wrote this

big long block I think it was a reddit was
a Reddit thread where they said, hey, I couldn't didn't
know why Ving Raims wasn't in Mission Impossible three? Like
why was he not in that one? So I googled
it and AI came back and said, well, possible answers are.
It could have been a contract dispute, he could have
been shooting another movie, okay, And then the guys that
I went back to watch it and he was in mission.
So here's AI not just saying, oh, here's some possible

answers when the answer should have been, hey, idiot, he
was in Mission Impossible three, right, so it should have
been a thing. So I'm like, Okay, maybe I'm not
that scared of AI, but now I am. And here's
why I've gotten to the point in my life where
if I say something in the living room and you know, like, oh,
you know, you know what you know I haven't seen
in the Wiland and anything like I really I haven't

seen uh the Stephen Baldwin. Stephen Baldwin's not done anything?
For what is he still acting? Is? He said? Like okay?
And then I get on you throw a couple of
flintstones lines out and yet on Yahoo or I'm on

his wife, Like, wow, how is this coming? So I
know that, like Alexa, all these different things are listening,
and I'm okay with that, right, this is this is stuff.

It's really weird. I'm okay with that. I know that
there's something listening into my conversations, so I'm okay with that.
But this is where it gets me is because today
I just happened to be thinking right. So there was
a couple of things happened. I made a couple of
segues in my head and I just thought, you know, man,
I really I really want to see a five to
four football game, like I really want And I didn't
say this anybody. I'm just thinking all the all the sargammis,

all the score, I think it was. We were talking
about those now we were scoring. We happen to be talking.
We hadn't be talking about softball and softball scores, but
it wasn't but didn't. But that none of that came.
I was, Oh, this is a game, like a game.
Was our game the other day was twenty to seven?
It was kind of a football score. We're talking about that.
And then I started just thinking myself, going man, you

know all these scorer gomis and and I that's what
I said. I said, well, you know when scores a
cup that offen, you know, they call it score a gomis.
Oh okay, And I just have to me thinking to myself,
think it by boy, I really would like to see.
That's the one final score I want to see the
football game is five four? Right, It's it's three safeties
in a field goal, right, Like that's the most impossible
score you could possibly other than getting up to the hundreds. Right,
it's not gonna happen, but like feasible scores like five four,

I want to see a five to four game. Didn't
say it to anybody. All I did was thinking. All

And I get on Twitter maybe about twenty minutes, half
hour after the after that point, I'm scrolling through and
a couple of people in my timeline have reposted, hey,
throw back to the to the game where Iowa beat

like what the? Hell? MAN i was scared for a,
Second like now that like is there like a chip
in my? Body because why the hell is that up

to see what else is gonna come, through what other,
ideas maybe some blind spots in your process from the

Halliburton had two all time great NBA games against the Knicks.

Best games of these guys careers. Halliburton had two of them,
Siakam had two of them. Nie Smith had one of them. Right,
and then you had matthren with two of them coming
off the bench, playing eighteen minutes, scoring thirty five points
in each game. You saw an incredible performance by the

Pacers against Knicks, and that's one thing that doesn't get
as much attention as that, Hey, yeah, the Knicks blue
Game one, and I still can't get over it. But
the Pacers played at such a high level. I give
them all kinds of credit because that was the best
they were gonna play. They were motivated to play the Knicks,
they wanted to play the Knicks, and they played at
such a They're gonna get a bounce this series. They're
not gonna continue to play at that level, not against

the better opponent. They're not gonna get the shots and
not gonna hit it with that confidence. It's gonna be
a much much tougher sledding. But just the odds in
the math that tells you when a team plays the
best they can play in a game, you're not gonna
continue that in the next series. You're gonna get a bounce.
And that's that's another reason why I look at this
and go, Man, if the Pacers get one game, they
should be happy.

were they a perfect team? Clearly defensively they had lapses,
but you had offense. You had two players in Brunson
and Cat that you most Knights could pencil in their
offensive stats and hope that they were functional and could

get picked up on the defensive end. Indiana, to me
is curious just because of their depth, because you have
some of the length that can match up well. A
guy like Siakam had a huge series against the Knicks,
but he was their leading scorer during the year. Right
as much as we celebrate the heroics, the historyonics, the

character that is Tyrese Halliburton and his dad, Pascal Siakam
was their leading scorer. You don't have to like it,
but that is fact. And it was just a shade
over twenty points a game, so not a dominant run.
And you had a number of guys in that fourteen
to twenty point range, which means you've got depth and
you don't need someone to take over on a nightly basis.
That's why I give him the Punchers chance to extend.

I still think the thunder are better. We've talked about
their defensive stars obviously have Champion Dorton Holmgron going back
to their origin stories at this point, but with Sga
playing the level of basketball that he has and even
on games where he's not dominating, it becomes that quiet
thing that we've talked about. He's still at twenty eight,

he's still at thirty. He slows things down if he
needs to to get to the line, but they also
push like anything. And that's the one part for Indiana
which was such an advantage against the Knicks that gets
torn away here is that the Thunder will match that intensity.
The fast break differential to fifty to fifty balls were
not going to be one sided, and that's where the

battle gets won ultimately in this series. Why I think
the Thunder win win out is that you do have
that consistency of the superstar which you leaned on last
round to get them through. So that's why I give
Sga and company the win. But I think the Pacers
will be game and give a game f for time

muddy it up. That's the thing that I think is
the most curious. How early do we see him in
the series where there were a couple times with the Knicks.

point is, in those twelve minutes he was also disruptive

and can he get the Thunder off of the block
