Speaker 2 (00:23):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 1 (00:28):
Fox Sports Radio. Welcome inside final hour tonight, the Jason
Smith Show with my best friend Mike Carmon. Almost there,
almost there, you know. Here's the thing. It's Amorial Day weekend. Yeah,
get ready for all the big top five hundred songs

(00:49):
of all time. Moral billy auntdown right, gonna be everywhere,
right the next couple of days. Here's the top five
hundred songs in the nineties all time, and that's gonna
be awesome, right, made for this, made for this weekend, perbviously,
remembering the troops and the ones who never made it.
Homemorial Day Weekend is all about. But there is a
three day weekend. Everybody's off on Monday, and man, I

(01:11):
will tell you sports wise, sport, I need a break,
I need aw're on a break. This is not my
night in sports, from the Knicks loss in Game two
to the way the Mets just lost to the Dodgers
and thirteen innings when in the tenth inning they left
second and third and in the eleventh and twelfth inning
they left the bases loaded. You can't. It's physically impossible

(01:33):
to leave eight on base in three innings and not
score a run. Yet the Mets find a way to
do it. Man, Sports is not my thing tonight. Man,
this is not my day.

Speaker 3 (01:42):
Well, you're all about fighting statistical improbabilities.

Speaker 1 (01:45):
This is not my day.

Speaker 3 (01:47):
So what you're saying is you have a chance for
the Knicks now to have the most miraculous come back
and ever because it would fall in line with your
I mean, this can't possibly happen kind of scenario, not
mine out the bult the squads.

Speaker 1 (02:01):
Yeah, before I get to something really really big out
of the Eastern Conference Finals, I have I know in
an hour, I'm gonna be fine. In an hour, I'll
be fine. Like I said this when the first hour
and by the way, then the first hour of the
show seems like it was like ten hours ago, not
three hours ago. I said, it has been slow at times,
I knew it was just the time, is just dicking.

Speaker 3 (02:23):
By those well because it was such a painful to
the end in that game, right, we came on it.
We're coming in the end of the third course to
tie game.

Speaker 1 (02:32):
Sure, yeah, you were still fatalist and hate but I'll
get you saw in the future. You went full doctor strange.

Speaker 3 (02:39):
You were twitching, your legs were crossed, and you're like
you held up a one finger and it wasn't the
one telling me it was one possibility, these.

Speaker 1 (02:48):
Fourteen million possibilities, this is the one we win. Oh no,
odds have changed. We don't win any of them. Wait,
none of them, No, none of them? No, okay, all
of a sudden, he just does it full like he's Burio.
Oh zero, I went through one and fourteen poussibilities. How
many do we win? Zero didn't win? Yeah? All right, Uh, look,

(03:09):
I knew in the first hour. You know what, I'm
gonna be fine when the show is done, because I
knew from the beginning, from the way Game one ended,
this series was ending in four for the Knicks, and
they're gonna lose the next two. Get if I put
the over under total number of points the Knicks lose
the next two games by a fifty I'll take the
over right, they're done. They're cooked. I knew they were
done after game one, which we'll get to. I'll get

(03:31):
to exactly why what nobody took into account when every
every expert was, oh, the Knicks can come back and
win game answer. But look, I know in an hour,
I'll be fine. Since you know what, I'll be able
to decompress because I knew this loss was coming, and
I'll be able to say, Okay, I'm good, I'm good.

(03:52):
I knew it was coming, it was here, the show
was over, I got the weekend. We're all good. I'm
all good, you're on, I'm all good to us with that.
Just tell you tried. You have to gain what You're
a five and a half point favorite. I go, we're
gonna lose by ten. How about that? We lost by five?
Oh well, oh, I'll take the big l on that.
But it is a ten point different. It just spread.

(04:12):
It was a ten point loss. But I know what
I knew, okay, because I spent The thing is about
being be so locked in on the Knicks in this
playoffs and making the East Finals for the first time
in twenty five years, seeing everything in front of it,
in front of me. The Knicks can make it back
to the finals. We're better than the Pacers are. Starting
five is better than the Pacers. But nope, nope, nope, nope,

(04:33):
nope nope. After Game one, I knew and I said, okay,
So whatever the result, I told you, I couldn't even
be happy watching game I just wanted Game two to
be over. So I know which way to go. Either Hey,
I'm happy because it's still a series and the NIXT
show they come back, or the Pacers win the second
game and the series is over all right, teams up

(04:54):
to what seventy eighty two out of eighty six, whatever
it is, they win a series is all but and six.

Speaker 3 (05:00):
Yeah, but it's like Ian asked me before the show.
My brother texted me before the show. A couple of folks,
I mean, they worry about you, buddy. It's like, well,
what's the show gonna be. I'm like, well, if they win,
then it becomes four years of the Knicks.

Speaker 1 (05:13):
Are back, four hours, four hours years. It's four years that.

Speaker 3 (05:18):
Someone's gonna go to Knicks college. Four year all right,
So it's four and four hours. It feels like four
years four hours of the Knicks are back. Look at
Jalen Brunson, look at the heart and determination and Tim
pulled off and all or they're gonna lose and it's
still gonna be floating in the air, whether it's Hello,
Darkness Wild or whatever song we're picking to encapsulate it all.

Speaker 1 (05:41):
It's like we're riding the lightning Man. There was no
in between.

Speaker 3 (05:45):
I mean literally the wait for the final final horn
and look at the final scores, like I tell you
which way we're going? Yeah, do you see the fork
of the road and take it? Yeah? And you know
the funny things. I'm glad you tell you brothers.

Speaker 1 (06:00):
I'm okay because I know okay good because a couple
of my friends said to me, hey you know or no, no, no.
Zoe said to me today when when I picked her
up from school and take it home and she goes, oh,
you're ready for the game tonight, And I said, ah,
you know we're gonna lose on my fish because well,
haven't your you know this is this is where I
love my daughter so much. He goes, haven't your friends
been texting you?

Speaker 3 (06:18):
You know?

Speaker 1 (06:18):
Support? Because that's you know that's what she is, and
I said, okay. I said, first of all, if they're
gonna text me anything, they're gonna make fun of me
because my team is losing. And she goes, okay, I go,
but I will say this instead of texting me. You
know about the Everybody knows how I feel, so I
am not getting a lot of texts because this is

(06:38):
something all my spends. People are like, I gotta give
Jason some space here. No, that's right, I gotta give
job because he knows that I know when the Knicks play,
I'm thinking about him when the Mets play and lose
like they bleep and did tonight. I just, you know what,
I think he just needs space. Not that I'm gonna
get men, because I'm not that kind of person, but
they just know I'm not helping by saying, hey, are
you okay? Because my response will be what do you

(07:00):
you think I'm okay? You think I'm okay with this? Right?
Or you're just gonna write back and say I have
to be or okay.

Speaker 3 (07:06):
Typical guide responses, which are non responses, but it's basically
you don't respond with a middle finger emoji, which would
be your other.

Speaker 1 (07:16):
Alternative, I would I was probably with a swipe left delete.
Didn't you get my text? Yeah? You didn't text me back?

Speaker 2 (07:23):
Nope?

Speaker 1 (07:24):
How come I deleted it?

Speaker 2 (07:26):
Why?

Speaker 1 (07:26):
Because I did? What was I gonna say?

Speaker 3 (07:29):
So?

Speaker 1 (07:29):
I said, you know, so they're giving me my space, right,
there's certain times where we go back and forth and
me and my family members or friends, But like, okay,
I'm giving you. I need to give you your space.

Speaker 3 (07:39):
I just send you a bunch of nonsense. Has got
nothing to do with the knickt thing that's here here,
go over here.

Speaker 1 (07:45):
Just ignore the quote.

Speaker 3 (07:47):
Real world against sports, you know, but let's go over
here and have some fun with random news ice.

Speaker 1 (07:55):
It's you know, so I knew so, I just knew
when this is over, I knew that was going to
be when I'll be able to Okay, now I'll be
able to deal with stuff like I've just been existing
in stasis for the last thirty six hours since game one, knowing, Okay,
there's nothing I can do. I can't fast forward to
get the game here faster. I just I couldn't even enjoy.

(08:16):
It's like, I just want it to be over so
I know how to react either, still have hope it's
still going or it's over, and now I'm dealing with
being over. So I'm dealing with it being over. Now.
How did I know this was gonna happen? Nicks were favored,
and you watched every expert the last couple of days.
Nicks are at home, They're resilient, they'll come back. This
is not over. It's going seven and every single expert,

(08:40):
whether it's a former athlete or analyst, and I see,
you're just dumb. You're just dumb because you're not taking
into account enough of the mental toll it takes on
a team when you lose a game that historically no
one in the NBA has ever lost. This is I

(09:02):
said it Wednesday night and last night. How do you
come back from this mentally? And you hear people saying, no,
you just turn the page. No you don't, because what
happens is it's not that you show up and just
stop playing and you quit. But when you have a
game like that, and again, it was the most devastating
loss in Knicks franchise history, probably the most devastating loss

(09:23):
that any of these Knicks players have had in their
professional careers. Devastating to blow a lead that no team
to blow a lead with two and a half minutes left,
that no team has blown since nineteen ninety five well
recorded history, to blow a lead since they've been keeping track,
to blow a lead in the final fifty seconds that
no team in recorded history has ever blown, to do

(09:45):
it to your arch rival, where your arch rival's best
player gives you the Reggie Miller choke sign. So you're
reliving history again and you still can't win in overtime.
There is such a mental toll that it takes on
a team. This wasn't just we blew a lead late,
we blew a seven point lead with a minute left
to go. This was you lost an historical lead twice,

(10:08):
two losses that no one again in the history of
the NBA has never blown. So what happens then is
that for the Pacers, there's no hey, we're happy just
getting one. It's hey, we know we have so much confidence.
Whatever they throw at us, let's go out and try
to take game two. And they came out and they
knew siakam Hey, this was their plan to get him going.

(10:30):
He scored the first eleven points of the game, had
the night of his career right second straight Pacers player
who had the night of his career in this series. Meanwhile,
for the Knicks, what happens. And this is what I
meant when I said, hey, the mental toll, you just
don't come back the same way in the second game.
The Knicks played hard, right, they played, they played well,
they played as well as they could. But when you

(10:52):
lose a game like that in game one, in the
back of your mind, I don't care what kind of
athlete you are. This where all the former players needed
to be have a little bit more. Show me that
you played the game and you didn't just show up
on my TV for ten or twelve years. Is that
you know that when you're playing a game and things
don't go your way a little bit, it's snowballs, and
you don't play with the same confidence you need to.

(11:14):
You don't play with the same focus you need to.
And I watch that in the Knicks tonight. I watch
them defensively get lost repeatedly, and still Pascal Siakam again,
prime Kevin Durant is what he looked like tonight is
still wide open for shots the Nick. It got to
a point in the game where the Knicks couldn't do
anything right, And you saw them. They didn't play fast,

(11:35):
they didn't play like they knew what they were doing defensively,
they played like they were reacting to whatever the Pacers
put out there. And I saw one team playing with
confidence and one team saying, Jalen Brunson, please score every
time down the floor. Right. That's what I saw, and
that's what happened. When you lose a game that badly mentally,
when you come into that next game or the rest
of that series, you know disaster is right around the corner.

(11:57):
And sometimes it just takes that little bit to make you,
to put you in a frame of mind of it's
not going our way, and suddenly you lose that little
bit of focus, you lose that edge, you lose whatever
it takes to make you great. And I saw that
in the Knicks in the second half of the fourth
quarter as the Pacers lead grew. That had a great
comeback at the end, but of course they didn't have enough.
Why because the Pacers kept finding ways to get easy buckets.

(12:20):
There wasn't a lot tonight where I saw a boy
Pacers had to work on that. The Knicks have to
work every time down the floor and Jalen Brunt. Snasta
has to dribble his way in and use his arm
and push and hit some kind of fade away or
some kind of weight till the defender gets in the air.
And there's a lot of hard work. The Pacers did
not have a lot of hard work other than just
continue to move the basketball and the Knicks will make mistakes.

(12:42):
One team is playing with an incredible amount of confidence,
and the other one is the sky is falling its
If it's not falling, it'll be falling after this possession
of the next one. That's how no one took into
account the total loss like that takes on a team.
That's how That's why I knew this series is gonna
be over. The Knicks weren't gonna win a game, and
every expert I heard saying all the Knicks can do, No,
it wasn't gonna happen.

Speaker 3 (13:02):
Yeah. My fear was you were leaning into history too
much and just saying, Okay, there's something about this squad.
Was it one hundred percent? Hey, that means nothing turned
the page. No, No, that's a tough loss to get pass.
But you are professionals. Your hallmark is we play good
defense where a team. We're unified, got a defensive minded coach.

(13:25):
He's gonna slap us upside the head, and we're gonna
get back to business. We're at home and we're going
to get after it.

Speaker 1 (13:33):
Well, what did you have?

Speaker 3 (13:34):
Josh Hart gets called for two files in the first quarter.
He has three shot attempts, and that includes the little
bunny he got from Brunson in the final fifteen seconds.

Speaker 1 (13:44):
Yeah, Rick Carlisle not complaining about the officiating in this playoffs?

Speaker 3 (13:46):
Isn't oh so like he doesn't exist offensively? And then
the most damning that carries forward from here, because that's
the word, that's the tough part of it is not
only you have the hit history lesson that we got
in game one, in other words, writing a.

Speaker 1 (14:03):
Whole new book.

Speaker 3 (14:05):
You built on top of it by saying, we've been
built as a team with a very short rotation. Here's
the seven guys we trust. Maybe those six and seventh
guys they're in the next circle. Maybe it's a little
extra sliver.

Speaker 1 (14:18):
You're outside of the circle of trust grade.

Speaker 3 (14:21):
But now you shoved one of those five guys that
you that you rode all year, you shoved him out
of the circle of trust in the fourth quarter because
he could move his feet defensively, as we talked about
all year long that that was gonna be a liability
with Karl Anthony Townsend. It was offensively struggled to find
his game consistently. But he's literally on the bench for

(14:42):
a large stretch for a guy who's was a great rebounder,
who's a subpar free throw shoot, I'm gonna be nice,
but as an offensive threat, he's a non factor. So
that's where you were at in this of like you
were desperate to get a little bit of defense, knowing
that they were gonna play Hacker Robinson down the stretch

(15:02):
to take Carl Anthony Towns out even though offense was struggling.
Like that's how bad things got for Tibbs in that
matchup game with Carlisle in the fourth quarter.

Speaker 1 (15:12):
As they had to run.

Speaker 3 (15:13):
As we've talked about when you talk about depth and
the extra minutes that you can steal with the bench
for Indiana that come fourth quarter, they're still fresh, right,
they're still rotating, they're still getting to their spaces, whereas
the Knicks tired legs that extra step to make the
rotation to cover a corner three, isn't there? How many
times did you guys do you see a guy catch

(15:34):
the ball, look around and go, wow, I could spin
it to exactly where I wanted on the ball as
if I'm at the free throw line. I've got my
ten seconds, right, I mean McConnell did it once thinking
someone was gonna come swatting from Isaac. Well, nobody there,
all right, cool three point shot. Halliburton steps to the
top of the key. Didn't have a huge night shooting,
still had eleven assists making things happen and putting pressure

(15:57):
on the defense going back. So yeah, I underestimated that
they would that the resolve of the Knicks, I guess
I thought they'd come out like a house of fire. Now,
the move to go to offense in Pascal siakam eight
shots in the quarter, six inside the arc free throw
line and in a work of brilliance, forced the big

(16:19):
guys to move, maybe get some faul trouble you got
it with Josh Hart, but for them to not respond,
and they did briefly in that first quarter. You saw
some fire when they were down ten and came back
to take that two point lead into the second quarter.
It's like, all right, there's the Knicks and that was
all you got. That was your flash, last flash of
Like Jack Smith, I told you.

Speaker 1 (16:39):
And yet the NBA you wanted Indiana, Oklahoma City, you
got it. Good luck.

Speaker 3 (16:45):
It's a ratings juggernaut. I don't care if you don't
want No, Actually I do. I care about the business.
Actually no, they have a seventy five billion dollar business.
They don't need anybody to watch this year. You're ready

Speaker 2 (17:09):
Well, we got more on.

Speaker 1 (17:10):
The NBA playoffs coming up in a bit. But straight ahead,
when the biggest football story of the last six weeks
gets really creepy, Jason and Mike Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 2 (17:23):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Jason Smith
Show with Mike Harmon weekdays at ten pm Eastern, seven
pm Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 1 (17:33):
Now that was the laugh I needed about three minutes ago.
Jason Smith Mike Harmon live from the Fox Sports Radios Team. Yeah,
after tonight, the Knicks lose. The Mets, losing thirteen innings,
they leave eight runners on base, and in the last
three inning, because it was more ridiculous the Mets. The
Knicks loss. I told you was coming. The Mets leave

(17:54):
eight runners on base in three innings. I mean, it's
almost impossible to lose a game. No, nope, nope, they
can't score a run and they lose to the Dodgers.

Speaker 3 (18:01):
I may or may not have flipped off the ghost
runner at second every time he ran out there.

Speaker 1 (18:06):
So I needed a laugh, and I got one because
now the games are over, and I believe that Nickey
seventeen movie is on with Robert Pattinson where he plays
the person who's cloned, you know, and they keep sending
new versions of him up to try to colonize a planet. Yeah,
it just got came. And the seventeenth version doesn't realize
he's a clone, and things happen, and so this is

(18:28):
what's on, and and you know, we're telling Mary and
I and who are who are running the show with
us tonight? And Mary says, so, wait, so how good
is this movie? What like, what's it about? And Harmon says,
you know, my daughter saw it. He said it was okay,
but then it got a little repetitive. And I said, the.

Speaker 3 (18:46):
Movie's about who happen getting reborn every few minutes.

Speaker 1 (18:50):
Of course it's gonna be repetitive. And he goes, no,
that's not what I meant. When I meant was that
in goods? I said, yeah, but this is kind of
the thing where they keep bringing, they keep failing, and
the keep you get the same guy coming back and
coming back and coming back. It's just the point I
need was that it dragged on. Right.

Speaker 3 (19:07):
It's one thing to say, Okay, we're gonna do this again,
of course, but normally it becomes the all right, we're
now on the seventeen version, and you've done that in
a super cut of about three minutes.

Speaker 1 (19:16):
Yeah, as opposed to all right, I get it, I
get it. He's a clone. Well look, look be lucky.
It wasn't the but they changed from the book because
the book was Mickey forty seven. There you go, whoa,
that's wait. We got to cut that down. We can't
go through forty six of these. It's too it's too long.
We don't have a music song long. We have a
song long enough. We can't play the extended version of
Innegata Davida. Let's Go Mickey. Seventeen is going to be

(19:38):
the name of this movie. It becomes like the final
Harry Potter. How do we get two movies out seventeen?
I can do forty seven, not happen forty seven. But
to take a break away from the night in the
NBA for a few minutes. Every day we get a
new development in the Daily Bill Belichick Jordan Hudson soap

(20:01):
opera and for a story that has been the biggest
football story of the last six weeks ever since the
way the relationship has gone really public, and how there's
controversy and really exploding after the really bad CBS interview
about the book where Jordan Hudson stays right off camera
and says, we're not talking about things, and this relationship

(20:24):
stepped into the limelight. Things were always weird. It was
a TMZ thing. It's a seventy three year old old
man dating a twenty four year old woman and it's weird.
And Jordan Hudson really wants the fast lane and she's
Lady Macbeth and all the way she's insinuating himself into
his life and into into into a professional spotlight. All right,
this has been a really weird story. But now it's

(20:46):
just getting creepy, right because look, Pablotry, who has been
around for a long time on ESPN, you know, had
the high Noon Show for a while, and now he's
you know, he's he's investigating the Bill Belichick Jordan Hudson
in relationship. And this part of it now is also
look seventy three twenty four. It's creepy. I'm sorry but

(21:07):
it is. But this investigation of it is creepy. You know,
you're talking on podcasts and TV shows about how he
today's story is that he did a deep dive into
the ring doorbell cam, which when we first found out
Belichick was dating Jordan Hudson when that crazy video came
to light a few months ago of him with no

(21:27):
shirt on outside of the Airbnb that we later found
out he and Jordan Hudson had rented for a weekend.
It's him coming out, he's got a satchel, he's got
no shirt on. He does a deep dive into that
video and what it meant and how it got out
and the details of it. He interviewed the people who
ran the Airbnb that was rented to Belichick and Jordan Hudson,

(21:49):
and they saw the video, the people who ran the Airbnb,
and they didn't know what it was. They said, we
thought it was a drug dealer, like a here's a
really old old man and here's a younger woman. Thought
is this a drug dealer something? Then realized, oh, it
looked like Bill Belichick. And then they sent it out
to a friend saying, Hey, I think that's Bill Belichick.

Speaker 2 (22:05):
Ta da.

Speaker 1 (22:05):
Then it hits the internet. Nice job, and the interview
about how weird they thought it was and and what
they said and some of the things that Jordan Hudson said,
some sexual innuendo things when the Airbnb people talked to them,
talked to her about renting the house they stayed in.
And I'm looking at this and I'm saying, why the
hell is Pablo Tory investigating this?

Speaker 4 (22:26):
What?

Speaker 2 (22:27):
What?

Speaker 1 (22:27):
What? What is going to happen here? I mean, what
is what? What is the purpose of this? We know
that they met she was nineteen, he was seventy one,
Right now is that weird? It's even weirder because she's
a teenager when they meet. But now, but we knew
that right, I don't know what is going to be
on earth here? What's the purpose of this? This just
seems like it's a it's a creepy part of this

(22:47):
story that that I don't know that we need it.
I don't know that. Like, I don't know what the
endgame is for for having an investigation, for him investigating
this what? Like? What?

Speaker 2 (22:57):
What?

Speaker 1 (22:57):
What do we really need to see?

Speaker 2 (22:58):
Me?

Speaker 1 (22:58):
Do? I think we know what they were laid? Is
we know at all relationships are like and what goes
on in different relationships. I don't Again, I don't see
the endgame as to why this is being investigated the
way it is.

Speaker 3 (23:09):
Yeah, I know there's been some talk of the origin
story and stories linking up and whatever else. He actually
rented this Airbnb. He did a video recreation of said
Belichick video found the air because he's now renting it,

(23:30):
started asking questions and the owners, who I haven't rented
an Airbnb. I got to imagine there's some level of
privacy you're expecting. Not Hey, I'm gonna start sending this out.
So I don't buy that story either. I think that
was a Hey, I think Bill Belichick rented our place? Yeah,
can you check this out. That's what I think really
happened that And I just find it funny on a

(23:53):
day and I'm sad that we're really given this much oxygen.
I'd rather talk about Aaron Rodgers and whether he show
it up. That's how much this story uh is lacking
for me.

Speaker 1 (24:05):
But this is there is a big There is a
big takeaway from it other than like why the hell
doesn't he have a shirt on? Like how come no
one's really talked about that? Like what why is he outside?
Why is he not? He's outside the paper, he goes out,
he's got a satchel, he's got a computer.

Speaker 3 (24:20):
Why is he not you've ever had a walk of shame?
Why is he without a shirt? Wears his shirt? You
gotta know where your shirt is or you gotta find
a shits that's Bill Belichick's business. Are you outside an
investigative thing on the day where everybody's crying because the
TV is showing off the air. It's the death of journalism,
of which this guy was apart. This is what he's doing.

Speaker 1 (24:39):
How are you not wearing a shirt when you go outside?
Like I understand, Like I get if I'm stepping outside
to get the paper, grab the mail. But he's outside
like doing things. I got my satchel, like, have a
shirt on? Why don't you have a shirt on? Like,
it's just I don't understand why doesn't have a shirt off.

Speaker 3 (24:52):
I've never done that, seventy two year old man with
no shirt on, not in a situation like that where
I'm up in the morning and I'm out. I have
enough because I have to have a bag and carrying
a bag and I'm doing things.

Speaker 1 (25:05):
But I'm wait, he got the ass out. I'm saying, satchel,
like I I don't. I don't like why you're outside
without a shirt. It's just a weird part of it.
But this whole story just but the part that really
makes the thing right, because this gets to a bigger point,
is that this is now something that is in Bill

(25:29):
Belichick's way of succeeding at North Carolina, because this is
a storyline that is not painting North Carolina in a
great light. Because Bill Belichick is North Carolina. They did
a lot to get him. They sold a lot of
season tickets because of him. And now when Bill Belichick
is in the news, it's generally not favorable. It's generally

(25:51):
look at this story about how Jordan Hudson tried to
talk Away into running Hard Knocks. Look at this story
about how Jordan Hudson talked Away into the commercial with
Bill Bell. Right, Look, nothing is painting North Carolina in
a positive light now while the rest of it is
seem me TMZ stuff. And again, what what is pablotry
hoping to uncover with it? I don't get the whole

(26:12):
thing is that North Carolina Like, if Bill Belichick doesn't
win this year, like he's done, North Carolina is gonna
say it's too You can't fire him now, it's too
close to the beginning of the season. You would be
an Absolutely, you'd be a bigger mess by firing him
than if you let him coach a year, because again,
you have the recruits that came to play for him.
You have a lot of season tickets that you sold

(26:33):
your allotment of season tickets. That's great, right, you don't
run a premium. Yeah, you don't really have a golden
era of North Carolina football. You gotta go back to
Oscar Davenport and Chris Keldor from the nineties, So you
don't really have that. You're hoping if you fired him.
Now it's a mess. Who takes over? Do the recruits stay,
to the recruits leave? What do you do for the future.
It's it's really so you're saying, Okay, we gotta suck

(26:53):
it up for this year and if he doesn't win,
and good luck winning in the eight even though the
schedule doesn't seem like it's that that that difficult. If
he doesn't win, he's done. And I mean North Carolina's
gonna say, okay, we tried that for a year and
it got out of our control. We didn't anticipate his
girlfriend being such a of an impact on our university.

(27:15):
And again, it doesn't matter if she has anything to
do with North Carolina. Belichick can say, oh, she's you know,
she's not doing that. No, well she's kind of see
seen in all your emails. They'll come into North Carolina.
So you can only say that so much. North Carolina
is going to pull the plug and say, Okay, after
this year, we gotta do something else, and it will
be someone else coming in, a new head coach. And
is Belichick really gonna come in and suddenly with this

(27:36):
recruiting class beat everybody in the ACC He's not He's
not So when you're looking at North Carolina at three
and six or four and five, they're gonna say, is
this worth it? Is this worth it? No, he's gonna
do one year. He'll be one and done at North
Carolina and they'll say, we tried it, we tried to
see how this went, and we're moving on. And before
you get say, well, what if things get better? You

(27:56):
really think Jordan Hudson's not gonna be in the headlines.
She wants the fast lane, Dude, do Do do too.
She wants life in the fast lane. She wants to
be in charge of stuff right, we're even getting stories
about it. She wants to be on the social scene
in Nantucket and Belichick's ex girlfriend is kicking her out
of parties, Like, there's not gonna be a time where
she backs out of the news. She wants the fast lane,

(28:18):
pooty do dude, life in the fad to. She wants that.
So this is gonna continue to be a story throughout
the whole year. There there may be a little bit
of downside where you may get a couple of weeks
here and there where there's nothing, but you really think
that's gonna go on. No, they want they both want
the fast lane. He's obviously okay with this. You know
she wants this. There's gonna be no slowing down. And

(28:39):
North Carolina's gonna say we've had enough one year and done.
For Belichick, he was a hard headed man. He was
brutally handsome, and she was terminally pretty. Yeah, you do
have Drake May and Mitchell Trubisky. Don't dismiss it all
not tremendously. Was that a golden era? No, it was not.
I don't know. They got some high draft picks, but

(29:00):
I think when when they had when they was led
and they had dre BLI like they were like a
top They were like a top five team in the
mid in the in the yes guy. Uh.

Speaker 3 (29:12):
Anyway, looking at it from a couple of perspectives, Uh,
Number one, as long as the money is flowing in,
you're gonna have some semblance of people in those meeting
rooms that are looking around going.

Speaker 1 (29:27):
And if they do win, by god, dial it up.
I would be remiss.

Speaker 3 (29:31):
But I didn't bring up a quote from Mac Brown,
who appeared on Serious XM College sports radio former North
Carolina coach quote, as far as North Carolina, Bill Belichick,
now he's arguably the best coach ever. Okay, great next line.
They've committed money to it, and they've helped him with academics.
They've lowered those standards some so there's absolutely no reason
they shouldn't be successful. And and they've changed the roster

(29:54):
and he keeps going from there, so all of that
lines up perfectly. Again, this story, to me is one
where this is full on TZ and click and good
on Pablo Torre and everything else, getting his name out
there and got his name in the National Geographic and.

Speaker 1 (30:12):
I just I don't know what are you trying to
accomplish with this, Like, are you gonna unearth something that whoa,
here's a bombshell about this relationship? I don't know, But
again do I I don't know? How much do we
all really care them?

Speaker 3 (30:26):
I don't.

Speaker 1 (30:27):
I don't. I don't know what the endgame is. I
don't know what the endgame is to this, because this
is not this is one of those where hey, like
they're talking about they're making the sequel now to UH
or the Hamich movie for the Games. The book just
came out that I just read The Sunrise on the Reaping,
completely unnecessary, didn't need it. It was I read it

(30:49):
and not necessary nothing congratulations on a job done kind
of thing. I could I could tell you that book
in twelve seconds. I mean, I'm not lying. I could.
I could recap that book in twelve But now here's
the whole thing where every day a new casting announcement
is made to this movie and it's the number one
trending topic on Twitter. Right, here's Jesse Plemons is in it,
now El Fanning is in or whoever. And I'm like, Okay,

(31:11):
I get it, but this is not that this movie
is not that big a deal. Like, I don't. I
think you're overestimating the the interest level in this movie.
Like I think we're overestimating the interest level of just
what we want to get into with this relationship.

Speaker 3 (31:28):
I just wonder if in the end it's the we're
gonna keep doing this. And it's like whenever say a
lawyer asked the question, he already knows the answer. Right.
If your significant other is asking you a question about something,
often times they've got a pretty good idea what they're

(31:48):
what the end is, but they want to see what
you're going to say. Hey, the garbage is still here,
you know what happened?

Speaker 1 (31:56):
Not I forgot or I didn't want to do it.
No blame the dog. Do you know that kind of
time not to find out what's trending in the wide
world of sports. One man who's been called the Bill
Belichick of Fox Sports Radio, don't you dare he goes
to interviews wearing Navy T shirts with holes in them.
It's Steve de Seger.

Speaker 4 (32:13):
Well appropriate Belichick would have a Navy T shirt considering
his family. Yes, hey, there you go, Thank you very much.
Long night in New York, and I'm not talking about
the Knicks. Sore was rain delay in the Mets home

(37:18):
we've talked about How tibbs is getting completely out coached
By Rick, carlyle and you're seeing this because what The
pacers want to do, offensively The knicks have no answer.
For they couldn't do it in the second half of game.
One game, two they come out Clearly we're going to
Establish Pascal, siakam and The knicks couldn't stop him the entire.
Game there was No it's like The, knicker the knickser

(37:39):
trying to react to whatever The pacers are doing and
they just can't do. It i'm okay With brunson taking
that shot with ten seconds left and. Missing he had
a good look at a. Three the way then it,
Look brunson is that. Clutch I'll i'll live with the.
Result it was a Good you didn't need to call
a time out to set a play up if you you.

(38:00):
Score he had a good. Look i'll live with that.
Result that he won the most clutch player in the
league for a. Reason he hits clutch shots all the.
Time i'll live with. That i'm.

Speaker 3 (38:10):
Okay it's been your offense all year and as we've
watched in these playoffs and certainly during the regular season as,
well by end of game, situations it's like nobody practiced.

Speaker 1 (38:18):
Them, Yeah LIKE i inbound the, ball what do you?

Speaker 2 (38:21):
Do?

Speaker 3 (38:22):
Right the whole idea of the out of bounds play
is to try to get the ball in his. Hands guess,
what he had the ball in his.

Speaker 1 (38:27):
Hands, NOW i am gonna say this, Right, Okay So, tibbs,
yes he's getting out, coach And Bryn sie, Also i'm
okay with him taking that. Shot you want a hot.
Take Karl Anthony towns was benched for the fourth quarter
of this. Game Mitchell. Robinson Chel robinson got to, play
and how great would that have? Been if he had
one of those two free throws at the, end maybe

(38:47):
it would have been a different. Thing but he's bench
the entire fourth. Quarter tibb, Says, ah you, know as,
matchups we were coming back with this group who were playing,
well and they WERE i, mean he wasn't. Lying they
were playing. Well they cut into the ten point deficit
by The it's not been the season The knicks expected
With Carl Anthony, towns and he has not lived up
to the expectation that they thought he would have when

(39:10):
he came. In And i'm telling you, this this is how,
valuable this is how gut punching this loss will be
to The. Pacers nicks lose this. Series there's already rumors
That jannis Likes New york a my favorite place to
go on the. Road The knicks will engage with A
Carl Anthony towns And Unobi's bridges some kind of. Trade

(39:32):
If jannis wants to come To New, york they will
find a way to make it, happen And Carl Anthony
towns will be at the center of those trade. Talks
that's how disastrous a loss this will. Be If Carl
Anthony towns is to the point where he's not playing
and getting benched in the fourth, quarter watch.

Speaker 3 (39:47):
Unless they get the full on cast crew and everything
of you, know The broadway staple. Wicked you can't make this.
Deal you don't have enough as. Sets you, DO i
