Speaker 4 (02:24):

to every.

Speaker 3 (02:28):
Year, I believe, so just the one and the same.
What did I get an invite? Just was? I live
in Vermont?

Speaker 4 (02:34):
I can't get an invite.

Speaker 5 (02:35):
It's like the wedding. You know, they don't they don't

Speaker 3 (02:41):

Speaker 3 (02:47):
You want to you want a trip to Hawaii? Did
you take it? Did you use it? Oh? Yeah, of
course I used it.

Speaker 4 (02:52):
When I got married. A friend of mine used to.
This is shows how old I am. Used to work
for America West Airlines and gave me two buddy passes
anywhere we wanted to fly that America West did and
I lost them, Yeah, misplaced him. Never could find them.
How do you like that? That knows you how old?
Not to say how old the story is, how.

Speaker 5 (03:12):
Old you are, But think about how you think about
how hard it is now to lose a ticket?

Speaker 3 (03:18):
Right right? It's on your phone right.

Speaker 4 (03:20):
Right, Well, at least I didn't say t w A
or Pan American Fight.

Speaker 3 (03:24):
I didn't. You don't even know what that is, do you.
I did watch Catch.

Speaker 4 (03:30):
Which right, Yes, you know I have some some really.
You know, we were telling stories last night and how
he got into the business, and you know, it was
Christmas and we just had some good storytelling time. Leo
Nardo DiCaprio wanted to meet me at a Laker game
because he used to listen to the show. You always surprised, well,

(03:53):
you're always surprised actors and actresses that loved sports. There
was really only one or two stations to listen to, right,
and I was afternoon driving Los Angeles, so you'd.

Speaker 3 (04:05):
Be Now, I will say this. I was in the base.

Speaker 5 (04:10):
I was at the media center of Crypto dot Com
arena with one Rob Parker. Yes, Denzel Washington comes up
and goes, no way, no how.

Speaker 4 (04:21):
I was like, Denzel was a full listener. I had
him on the show. I called up four people when
Chick Hern passed away, uh huh and the four I
figured we let's get the four biggest Laker fans. So
we called up Diane Cannon, we called up Denzel Washington,

(04:43):
we called up Chevy Chase, and we called Jack.

Speaker 3 (04:47):
Right, pretty good, Jack Nicholson, that's right there.

Speaker 4 (04:52):
Diane Cannon called us back in twenty minutes, just like
in Tears. Came on for like a half hour. She
was she was fantastic.

Speaker 3 (05:02):
Okay.

Speaker 4 (05:04):
The show wraps up. The next day, I get a
phone call.

Speaker 3 (05:12):
It's Denzel Washington. He comes on.

Speaker 4 (05:16):
He was Finn apologizing, apologizing.

Speaker 3 (05:20):
He said he didn't get back to.

Speaker 4 (05:21):
Me yesterday, okay, and that he wants to come on.
I'm like, fantastic, Okay. That show ends. I see the
phones ring, and we get down early because there's a
Dodger game. I pick up the phone. Who do you
think is online? It's Jack? I said, Jack, it's Hardie.
I go, I would love to have you on the

(05:42):
show tomorrow. He goes, let's do it right now. I said,
I said, Jack, I can't. We were not on the air.
He goes, you're on till seven o'clock. I go, well,
thanks for knowing my schedule, Jack, I appreciate that the
Dodger games going on, we have the pregame show. I go,
I will you know tease that you're coming on at

(06:04):
three o'clock. But Jack, you got to give me your
number so I can call you. He goes, I don't
give out my number, I said, I said, I said, Jack.

Speaker 3 (06:11):
I I can't you know.

Speaker 4 (06:13):
Because I called his press secretary or whatever, right as agent.
I said, Jack, I can't say that you're coming on
until unless I know that you're definitely coming on and
I have your number. He goes, listen to me, if
I tell you I'm coming on at three o'clock tomorrow,
I'm coming on at three o'clock tomorrow.

Speaker 3 (06:31):
I said, you know what, Jack, that's fine with me.
That's good. That's good enough for me.

Speaker 4 (06:35):
And guess who called at two fifty five the next day, Nichol,
you better believe it. So it was.

Speaker 3 (06:42):
It was great.

Speaker 4 (06:43):
The only person that gave me an attitude was was Chevy. Yeah,
he gave me. I said, Chevy, already, Spaniard, I know
who you are. Well, Chevy, I wouldn't have called you
chick Kurn passed away lose my number. Wow, I'm like Chevy,
I'm only doing it with his chick. He goes, what
part of loose my number did you not understand? I said,

(07:04):
consider the loss, Chevy.

Speaker 3 (07:05):
Right, consider lost, you know, beating your cheerios. I love this.

Speaker 4 (07:10):
Nature boy writes how loud were the propellers on your
PanAm flight? Oh Panam's not that old, stop it. They
were pretty old. They were pretty old. And he also
has advice for my co host. He says, Elope, and
keep the change for yourself.

Speaker 3 (07:27):
I told you that, did I not? You did?

Speaker 4 (07:29):
Did Elope? Go somewhere nice and then save your money
for a house. Believe me that that's what you want
anyway you want to. You want to be able to
afford your first house. And you know how expensive it
is in southern California.

Speaker 3 (07:42):
You know, tell me about it.

Speaker 5 (07:44):
I was thinking about planning a bank robbery to try
to get it down payment.

Speaker 4 (07:48):
That might not be enough. Yeah, that might not be
enough a bank robbery. By the way, Any New Year's plans?

Speaker 3 (07:55):
Uh?

Speaker 4 (07:55):
Coming up next week? Because of course New Year's on
the first? Are you going out on New Year's Eve
on on that Tuesday?

Speaker 5 (08:01):
Hell no, I'm bro I have to buy that ring.
You know, I should probably be if you always fox
sports radio because I gotta make some dog all money back.

Speaker 4 (08:12):
I was gonna say, you can always go to parties,
though you know your your friends are throwing parties get
free food, free booz stuff like that.

Speaker 3 (08:19):
Yeah, I don't know.

Speaker 5 (08:20):
I'll probably keep it, keep it low. Actually, I think
I'm on the air that night.

Speaker 4 (08:23):
Well, I'll go back and check. I'm on the air
that night too.

Speaker 3 (08:26):
Oh maybe it's us together.

Speaker 4 (08:29):
I'm not sure. I'm not sure. I think I'm out
with Plike actually on that Tuesday. So oh yeah, I think.
I don't think the schedule came out yet.

Speaker 3 (08:39):
I'm pulling it up and I think Dan got me
doing something.

Speaker 4 (08:42):
Well, let me let me know if the schedule comes out,
because I.

Speaker 3 (08:44):
Have not seen it yet. Yep, I'm on.

Speaker 5 (08:46):
I'm filling in for Covino and Rich and uh Doug
Gottlieb that day.

Speaker 4 (08:51):
Okay, there you go, so you are, but that you'll
get done early. You'll still have time to go out
and and party and have a good time.

Speaker 3 (08:58):
Sure, I can't wait.

Speaker 4 (08:59):
Yeah, because alright, if you want to get in real
simple for the bonus out of the show at Martin Wise,
I'm a stinking genius one.

Speaker 3 (09:07):
Let's kind of wrap things up right now.

Speaker 4 (09:08):
Seattle wins at sixty Me over the bears, What a stinker?

Speaker 3 (09:12):
What can you say about this?

Speaker 4 (09:13):
You know as much as Chris Plank and I fight
about Caleb Williams. He's not the quarterback I thought he
was going to be here that they thought he was
going to be right now. I think bo Nix is
playing better than him. I think you can come up
with about the two or three. Jayden Daniels is playing
better than him. Drake may is the actually looking a
little better than him right now. I'm real disappointed with

(09:35):
what Cale Williams has done so far.

Speaker 5 (09:37):
I think when you viewing in this totality of his
expectations were so high. Yeah, this output is not great.
I don't think he's had a terrible rookie season though,
and I think when you look at he has had,
I'll put it like this, aren't if we are seeing
Caleb Williams have a season like Jayden Daniels right now,
with the infrastructure that is in Chicago, our lack of

(09:59):
infrastruct you're in Chicago, he might be the best football
player of all time.

Speaker 3 (10:03):
He like. I mean, well, I'm being facetious.

Speaker 5 (10:07):
But they have no head coach, they have no offensive coordinator.
The interim guys is the passing game coordinators from the
start of the season who so they don't even have
to meet the framework to be successful in Chicago. Right now,
the big thing for them is gonna be a getting
a good pick in this year's draft. They're gonna be
doing that just fine because this team stinks. But secondly,

(10:30):
finding somebody who's gonna be able to come in and
galvanize the environment and galvanize that roster because it is
not nearly as bad as a team like, for example,
the last five six games or so, the Carolina Panthers
have been playing much better ball than they've played in
the last I don't know, twenty four games, right, the

(10:52):
Bears are more talented than the Panthers are. But you
see Dave Canalis has been able to build a little
something going and now they're play playing better ball.

Speaker 4 (11:01):
And you think Pete Carroll's the answer there in Chicago.

Speaker 3 (11:04):
I don't think any of these old guys are the a.

Speaker 4 (11:06):
If I was going to hire an old guy, I'd
rather hire Belichick then Pete Carroll.

Speaker 6 (11:10):
Right.

Speaker 3 (11:11):
If I wasn't hire somebody, I think Mike Rabel would be.

Speaker 4 (11:13):
I think that Mike Rabel's name is popping up big
time over there.

Speaker 5 (11:17):
His situation in Tennessee ended oddly to me but I
always seemed him to be a guy that seemed to
get the most out of his roster year in year
route and I think that with a quarterback like Caleb Williams.
I know everybody says you have to hire an offensive
head coach, you have to hire an offensive head coach.

(11:37):
Which you have to hire is a head coach who's
good at hiring people.

Speaker 3 (11:42):
What happens if you.

Speaker 4 (11:42):
Don't like Caleble Williams, then you don't want the job.

Speaker 3 (11:46):
I would suggest not taking the job.

Speaker 4 (11:47):
Well, I mean, seriously, suppose you don't think he's as
great as everybody else thought. Do you say, then I'll
take the Jets and deal with it after Aaron Rodgers leaves.

Speaker 3 (11:56):
I mean, the.

Speaker 5 (11:59):
I don't know what coaches outside of Ben Johnson just
in the business of turning down head coaching jobs in general,
right right, So, I think whoever is gonna be the
guy who takes this job is either you're.

Speaker 3 (12:10):
Gonna sell yourself on Kayla Williams is the answer, or.

Speaker 5 (12:13):
Like you probably shouldn't take it, Like if you can't
get behind Kaylen Williams, that's the future for this organization
right now.

Speaker 3 (12:20):
Like the good the bad of the ugly.

Speaker 5 (12:22):
You gotta be able to know, hey, I have a
plan to get the most out of this guy right here.

Speaker 4 (12:27):
All right, So let's go to the games on Christmas,
Chief speet. The Steelers are the Chiefs back on track
now after playing all these one possession games. They win
the last couple of games, kind of easily flexing their muscle.
Patrick Mahomes kind of looked like the Patrick Mahomes of old.
Three touchdowns over three hundred yards, no interceptions. I think
he was like twenty nine to thirty six. Just looked

(12:50):
like a like the old Patrick Mahomes. Plus, if you
would have told me that they'd be fifteen to one
and we're not even considering him to be the most
valuable player, I thought you were crazy. But they're starting
to pick it back up, Martin.

Speaker 5 (13:03):
Well, the thing is, pick it back up is all
relative because they only lost one damn game the whole time.

Speaker 3 (13:08):
That's true, right, So it's like pick it back up.

Speaker 5 (13:10):
Sure, I'm sure if you're a Chief fan then probably
talking about like what the hell are you talking about?

Speaker 3 (13:15):
We don't lose, But.

Speaker 5 (13:17):
I'd say the benefit that Kansas City has they came
into the season very very hurt.

Speaker 3 (13:23):
Very very injured.

Speaker 5 (13:25):
Now they don't have a meaningful game for almost a month,
their entire roster will be at his peak performance and
the wildcard route of the plut when they started to
play the first playoff game.

Speaker 4 (13:37):
Yeah right, yeah, a little bit over three weeks.

Speaker 5 (13:39):
So they're gonna be more arrested. They have to play
less games. Like they were able to gut it out
and I know that. You ask whoever it is luck,
you know, witchcraft, voodoo, whatever. They were able to execute
in and out to the point where now their talent
level is going to be better. You saw Hollywood Brown
back in that offense, and the offense was clicking better, right,

(14:01):
Like if you're a team, other teams are getting guys
back too at this stage in the game or shutting
guys down due to injury. But the difference is they
don't have the foundation like Kansas City does, where they
just have so much just institutional dominance that is hard
for them to even you know, it does different standards.

Speaker 4 (14:21):
You brought up that Kansas City is going to have
the bye week, so they'll play one less game. But
yet when we were talking about the college games that
didn't come into play, does that not make a difference
about the teams the four teams that are a bye
week waiting to play.

Speaker 5 (14:35):
Oh I think the difference is I think you could
give a Boise State five more players on their team
and they wouldn't stand a chance, right right.

Speaker 3 (14:44):
If the talent gap is too big.

Speaker 5 (14:46):
Now, if you were out now Oregon Ohio State, maybe
that might be it, you know what I'm saying. Like,
I think that's something if if Georgia was going to
be able to get their quarterback back and getting the
buy or something like that. But it doesn't factor in
as much. But I think it's because when college football
you're looking at teams that are the margin is greater
in terms of who's better who's not.

Speaker 3 (15:04):
Right And the Ravens of course won thirty one to two.

Speaker 4 (15:09):
Again not great numbers for Lamar Jackson ten to fifteen,
one hundred and seventy yards, two touchdowns, but no interceptions,
great passer rating. I don't know if that's sustainable for
when the playoffs start. He's gonna have to do better
than that. Even if Derek Henry's gonna run for a
close two hundred and fifty yards.

Speaker 5 (15:25):
I mean, he just has to be better in the
playoffs in general, Like you could you could argue, and
I think it's a fair one to say the Baltimore Ravens'
biggest problem in the postseason has been Lamar Jackson. Like
that's a fair statement to make, especially when you go
into last year's AFC champions Game you hold Kansas City
to what twenty four points something like that, Right, you
gotta be able to out you gotta be able to

(15:46):
win that game, especially when you have that franchise level,
multiple time MVP quarterback, so that he's been their biggest issue.

Speaker 3 (15:54):
So it's kind of unfair.

Speaker 5 (15:56):
But we're looking to me, the Baltimore Ravens and the
Boston Celtics are very very similar in that they can
almost do whatever they want in the regular season.

Speaker 3 (16:06):
It's not gonna matter until they win a championship.

Speaker 4 (16:09):
Oh and the pressure is gonna be out Lamar Jackson
over and over until he gets the team to the
Super Bowl.

Speaker 3 (16:15):
There's a lot of pressure on him right now.

Speaker 5 (16:16):
I would think, oh, absolutely absolutely, because I mean Matt Verderon,
who we had on earlier, said it.

Speaker 3 (16:23):
But there's only a handful if not.

Speaker 5 (16:26):
I think there might just be one quarterback in NFL
history with multiple MVPs who's never even attended a Super Bowl. Wow,
do you see what I'm saying. That's Joe ellen Beiden's status.
And you can make an argument right here, right now
that Lamar should have three MVPs and he should be
the MVP this season. There's a legitimate argument for that,
and I don't think it's a crazy one here. And

(16:47):
depending how the all things set, you know, all settles out,
he might be the MVP. And you go three at
regular season MVPs and you don't win in the postseason,
that is going to that's going to impact to the
legacy talk quote unquote all right.

Speaker 4 (17:02):
By the way, if you're gambling on the games, you're
gonna want to stick around. Bill Krackenberger is joining us
next live from Las Vegas, so we'll talk to him.
I do want you to know I'm not a weatherman,

Be sure to catch live editions of The Jason Smith
Show with Mike Harmon weekdays at ten pm Eastern seven
pm Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 4 (18:41):
Martin Wise Arnie Spaniard for Jason Smith that has best
friad Mike Harmon here on Fox Sports Radio. We're live
at the tier rack dot Com studios. Martin, I want
to get right to our next guest. Always love having
him on Professional Gambler. Also he does countdown to the
kickoff Sunday mornings right here on the network on Sports
Radio seven eight to ten, eight Pacific. It's our buddy,

(19:04):
Bill Krakenberger.

Speaker 6 (19:05):
Are you doing Bill, Hey, thanks for having me on,
for coming on Survive tonight. I'm in the big contest
here in town, fourteen point two million dollars on the line,
and have my team had Seattle. We're down to down,
We're down to forty five teams, and we had Seattle
to go on two more weeks. Now, now we have

(19:27):
next week and the week after and looks like we're
gonna probably have a nice big split with a lot
of teams. But it was a sweater tonight. It was
a sweater Seattle Chicago twice, Chicago Chicago twice. Now should
have been probably more prepared at the end of the
game to knock me off and knock my team off.
So yeah, it's pretty good.

Speaker 4 (19:47):
Pretty what happens if the forty five all stay in
for the last two weeks? How much will your split
be for your team?

Speaker 6 (19:54):
I have twenty percent of a team, so there's there's
Like I said, there's four five teams, now it looks
like it's twenty. In the last couple hours. I've been
working out the mass for the last two weeks. Who
we have left and who I mean this is. It's
gonna get real tough now because I only have a
road team left that I have two favorites left out

(20:16):
of the choices, and there's no way I'm taking the Raiders.
So it's either going to be the Raiders minus one.
By the way, there's no points in this In this
kind of contest, it's a literally you have to go
twenty and oho no point. Sounds easy, but it's really not.
Starting out fourteen thousand, two hundred entries literally down to

(20:37):
forty five entries I bought back in Laten, how I
got in with this team and I'm going to go
with the Colts this week over the Giants. So the
Colts just need to win the game. However, it's one
of the first road teams that I remember using here,
so anything can happen in this NFL. We know that
even though there're a seven and a half point favorite

(20:58):
doesn't matter, that'll be the money line team. And then
the last week looks like probably Atlanta Falcons at home
versus Carolina. That'll be the last two hopefully, uh get
and then and then I'm part of Get the Split
fourteen point two million with probably a lot of I.

Speaker 3 (21:14):
Love it, Yeah, I love it.

Speaker 4 (21:17):
That is awesome, man, that's great. I'm rooting for you.
I remember you talking about it. But I mean, let's
talk about the games coming up this week.

Speaker 3 (21:22):
I have a question for you.

Speaker 4 (21:24):
Is this get a little I don't want to say easy,
but easier kind of like the living against the dead.
When you see teams that have given up, have nothing
to play for, and teams that have the playoffs on
the line, do you just start taking the favorites?

Speaker 3 (21:37):
Is it easier now or what?

Speaker 6 (21:38):
Well you kind of thought that tonight. As a matter
of fact, one of the commercials I did from our
sponsor on our show Countdown to kick Off at MGM,
I put up a video. I was outside the sphere
tonight and I put up a video about how these
must win teams. It sounds so simple, but however, you're
going to pay a heavy tax and tax and they
means points here. We just look just a week ago

(22:00):
our sponsored BETMGM, they had Seattle minus one and a
half and two, and now after Seattle loses to in
a row, they become more of a must win team.
They went up to four to four and a half
and even five. The only five in the world today
was that bet MGM. They even closed five looking for
Chicago money. So that means you're going to pay extra

(22:21):
points because of the must win team. And that's why
you almost like lean towards the dog here, knowing you're
getting some extra points. But if you look at it
like you would think Chicago would just give up they've
lost nine in a row, they were, you know, just
getting ready to end the season and maybe even get
a higher draft choice.

Speaker 3 (22:38):
No, not at all.

Speaker 6 (22:39):
Chicago was in that entire game and a very boring
game for most six to three. I find the same
thing this week. Don't think just because even though I
have to choose India in our pool, don't think the Giants,
one of the worst teams in football, are just going
to give up at home in front of their fans,
maybe to get a top draft choice or something like that. Oh,

(23:00):
the same thing with I'll even use the Dallas Philadelphia game,
of course, as in quarterback information that came out about
Philadelphia today. But that line even went. That line opened
up ten and a half is down to seven. The
Giants game was up to nine for a while, down
to seven and a half. Now, I am one that
always thinks the values on the dogs anyway, I'm not

(23:20):
a favorite better even though you can bet favorites now
in the NFL, I'm like years ago it was just
simple money, especially primetime home underdogs. That was many years ago.
No more, we're finding that that's not the case. At
one point the season, eight road favorites in a row
primetime one and got the money versus the point spread.
So you have to evolve a little bit. And you know,

(23:43):
I get that, I really do. I get evolving, but
I'm still not going to lay. I refuse to lay
over three. I'll say three and a half. Over three
and a half on any any team over three and
a half points in the NFL. That is got me
a lot of money. It's maybe a lot of money
over the years in the NFL, especially if you ever

(24:04):
see a team that we don't see it here, but
automatically you don't have to know anything. You don't have
to know a single thing in the NFL. But if
you see a double digit favorite over fourteen and a
half or more lifetime, that's money just taking. You don't
have to know a single thing. So we don't have
that situation here. We did have it last weekend with
Buffalo and New England, and we did have fourteen and

(24:26):
a half here in town. They almost went out right.
The New Engle almost knocks some people out of our
survivor pool. But yeah, there's never a must win. Whenever
you're betting one of those must win teams, you're paying tax.
Like I said, the public all knows that these game
lines have been out there for a while, you know,
more towards game time, it even becomes a more solid line,

(24:49):
and the public still doesn't care. They're still going to
lay it with both hands on the musk win teams.
Bill Krackenberger looks to take the opposite way.

Speaker 5 (24:58):
So what's Bill Krackenberger and looking to take when it
comes to the college football playoff Because a lot of
those things, I feel like the automatic fourteen point favorite
look towards the underdog. That is not true in college
football as true as it is in the NFL.

Speaker 6 (25:12):
Oh, absolutely correct. As a matter of fact, I look
at the Syracuse game. Wow, one of the biggest line
moves I've ever seen. Probably I'm willing to say it's
the biggest line move I've ever seen a ball on
a bowl game. It's opened up six and a half
at the Key sports books up to seventeen and a half,
even eighteen now Syracuse over Washington State again. You know,

(25:33):
it's funny. I stayed away from a lot of these
bowl games, and I'm really thankful that I have. But however,
this particular game, believe it or not, it's going to
be hard to say. It's gonna be hard to even
swallow saying this. I would just to lean towards the
favorite in this situation, lay in the points. But however
I didn't do it. I couldn't force myself to it. However,

(25:56):
I am. I am on a team tomorrow four pm
our time, Las Vegas time. I'm on Texas Tech versus Arkansas.
I think Texas Tech is just more fundamentally, more mentally
mentally prepared. That's going to be a bet for me.
I laid the one and a half today. There was
a couple of ones in town. I may even look

(26:18):
towards the money line minus a dollar thirty, minus a
dollar twenty. Here in town, I'm looking at DraftKings and
bet MGM is minus a dollar twenty, thinking about laying
the money line. Also on Texas Tech versus arkat SOA,
that's a pretty strong game for me, probably one of
my biggest Bowl games tomorrow and one of my biggest
Bowl games of the entire season. So again, there was

(26:41):
some big moves here on Navy. I actually did like
Navy over the field goal, but I can't you can't
take it now. We have a sportsbook here and Top
Ball Circa. They're one of the original sports books that
make the lines, and they're pretty sharp sports books because
they take a big bet. They opened that game ten.
It's down to two and a half. Giant, giant move.

(27:02):
I can't take Navy now. I can't take Navy now
playing in Fort Worth, Texas. Can't take them down plus
two and a half. But I'll tell you, uh, you know,
when it was over to the three and a half
and four, I leaned to Navy there. It's another one
of those games where anything Oklahoma, I mean, they're they're
the more. They're a team that you would think over

(27:23):
the years they've had such big players, big coaches, big
name but the Navy football squad actually has shown that
they can play with this team. They're they're gonna be ah,
this will be this will be a heck of a game.
Under a field goal Oklahoma Navy. I'll tell you if
you ever put this lineup pre flop. Uh, you know,
during the season, you never think that you would have
a field goal deciding this game. Like I said, it

(27:46):
did open up at ten. So there's a couple at
the early morning game by the way, nine am tomorrow morning,
Las Vegas time. But looking forward to a couple of games,
and then there's a game right here in Las Vegas
at seven thirty tomorrow night. USC Texas A and m
U Texas A and M being shown a lot of
love here opened up two and three of the two
sportsbooks that open up the line up to four at

(28:06):
some of the major sports books that included the Bet
MGM and CIRCA here in town. Lots of money on
Texas A and M. Should be a good game and
a game that I actually had tickets to and I
actually gave them away tonight.

Speaker 4 (28:18):
So I know you like any of the Big four,
the playoff games like Ohio State, Oregon or anything like that.

Speaker 6 (28:25):
You know, when it comes to those big games, that's
like betting an NFL game. I swear when you look
at those lines, they're so hard to beat, like an
NFL game. That game opened up at one, Ohio State
one one and a half, up to two and a
half now, and boy, I tell you, if anything, I'll
lean to Ohio State. I've been tech talking about that.
I have been talking about Ohio State all season though,

(28:47):
as being the national champs, as being one of the
best teams in football. And I don't have a bet
on the game right now. I lean towards the over
a little bit more than anything. I think this could
be some offensive fireworks. But then again, to open up
fifty three, it's up to fifty five. I hate getting
the worst of the number. That game's Wednesday, January first,

(29:07):
should be a great game. A couple of really good games.
They're looking forward to Georgia Notre Dame. Boy, I'll tell
you who else. What other games can you ask for
this year? Except for these type of games, giant giant
games Ohio State or on Notre Dame, Georgia. Boy, there's
a lot of really good games. I think even Texas

(29:28):
Arizona State. I think that'll be a better game than
thirteen and a half. A couple of fourteens in town
here well outside take them taking a lot at at fourteen.
That's taken a lot of points in a decent Arizona
State team.

Speaker 3 (29:41):
I love it. I love it.

Speaker 4 (29:42):
Bill Krakenberger, everybody you got to check about on countdown
of the kickoff every Sunday morning, seven eight to ten,
eight Pacific.

Speaker 3 (29:48):
Bill.

Speaker 4 (29:48):
Always a pleasure, man. I can't wait to see what happens.

Speaker 6 (29:51):
Wellsc I gave you guys an FCS game last time
is a nice winner. I'm going to give you another one.
North Dakota State plus the point plus three. There's a
couple three and a halfs out there. North Dakota State
plus the three against Montana State Monday, January sixth. Always
appreciate you, guys, big fans of big fans of the show.
Thank you very much, Thank you.

Speaker 3 (30:11):
Bil.

Speaker 4 (30:11):
Always appreciated Bill Krackenberger living living the life professional gambler.

Speaker 3 (30:16):
That's the life I want to live, Martin.

Speaker 4 (30:18):
Matter of fact, Martin let's get a final trending from you,
my friend.

Speaker 3 (30:21):
See what's going on? Everything's a final now.

Speaker 5 (30:24):
Yeah, that Seahawks came through for Krackenberger and also came
through for themselves six and one on the road, nine
and seven overall.

Speaker 4 (30:30):
How much did he say he had fourteen million dollars
riding on this thing?

Speaker 5 (30:33):
Yeah, but it sounds like it's gonna be a portion
of fourteen million dollars.

Speaker 3 (30:37):
But you don't do the math.

Speaker 4 (30:38):
I gotta do forty five teams divided by fourteen million dollars.

Speaker 3 (30:42):
Ian you're on it.

Speaker 5 (30:44):
Yeah, cat on that the Seahawks lou and beat the
Chicago Bears six to three. Caleb Williams threw an interception
that ended the NFL rookie record of passes without an
interception at three hundred and fifty three against Yea Proofs
to nine and seven. On Thursday Night Football in the NBA,
the Heat hang on and beat the Magic eighty nine

(31:06):
to eighty eight. The Thunder beat the Pacers one twenty
to one. Fourteen Grizzlies over Raptors one fifty five to one.
Twenty six Rockets of Repelicans won twenty eight to one.
Eleven and the Pistons. Jade and Ivy hit a four
point play as time was expiring in Sacramento for the Pistons,
who get a one point lead one fourteen a one

(31:27):
point win rather one fourteen to one thirteen over the
Sacramento Kings Kate Cunningham with thirty three points and ten assists.

Speaker 3 (31:33):
Borderline all star right now in the East.

Speaker 5 (31:36):
Thursday had called here we go College football games Toledo
in six overtimes meeting Pittsburgh forty eight to forty six,
Kansas State forty four, Rutgers forty one. In the Rate
Bowl rate what aren't he? I don't know, just rate
Rate the Bowl exactly sixty eight Ventures Bowl Arkansas State
victorious thirty eight to thirty one. And the NFL Cede

(31:58):
LAMB is being shut down for the rest of the
season due to a shoulder injury. A. J. Brown was
limited in practice today with a knee injury. Joe Burrow
was had little excuse me was limited in three practices
this week, but has no injury designation ahead of this weekend.

Speaker 3 (32:14):
Arnie becked us, all.

Speaker 4 (32:16):
Right, I did the math by the way. I did
the math by the way.

Speaker 3 (32:19):
Thank you.

Speaker 4 (32:19):
Martin Wiite Arney Spanier in for the guys Jason Smith
and his best friend Mike Harmon.

Speaker 3 (32:23):
I'm a little.

Speaker 4 (32:24):
Disappointed, to be honest with you, because when he throws
out the fourteen million dollars, you know, it's like I
got money side in my eyes. I'm like to change
a jing ja ching. Well, if there's forty five teams
left right right, and they let's I just said fourteen
million dollars, so forty five and the fourteen million dollars
comes out to three hundred and eleven thousand, one hundred

(32:46):
and eleven dollars per team, So let's just say roughly
about three hundred and eleven thousand. Now, Bill said he
owned twenty percent of a team, So twenty percent of
three hundred and eleven thousand comes out the sixty two thousand.

Speaker 3 (32:57):
Two hundred. That's not as much as I thought it
was going to be.

Speaker 5 (33:01):
Martin, I doubt, but you're doing the math before the
competition is over, right, forty five times aren't going to win?

Speaker 4 (33:07):
Well, you're possibly that could be the most. It won't
be any more than forty five, so it could be
forty thirty five thirty.

Speaker 3 (33:15):
You're right about that. I think it'll probably be a
you know, without.

Speaker 4 (33:18):
So if I cut it into half, Yeah, but that
means his share will be about one hundred and twenty
five thousand dollars.

Speaker 3 (33:23):
That's what I think. I think that's a little bit
better half. Yeah, that's a little bit better. And I mean,
you know, you know, a couple of thousand more than
you started with.

Speaker 4 (33:31):
Yeah, but when you're talking fourteen mil, I want to
be the last team standing.

Speaker 3 (33:35):
If it's fourteen million.

Speaker 4 (33:37):
I want to be the Just to be clear, twenty
percent of fourteen millions a lot of money.

Speaker 5 (33:43):
Twenty percent of a hundred a couple of hundred thousand,
not to say a.

Speaker 4 (33:46):
Stick at You couldn't get a house for one hundred
and twenty eight thousand dollars in southern.

Speaker 3 (33:52):
Gal No, could not.

Speaker 4 (33:54):
But twenty percent of fourteen million dollars is what three
three point two miller something.

Speaker 3 (34:01):
Oh, so I'd have a down payment.

Speaker 4 (34:05):
That I would be so nervous. Could you imagine you
had the game tonight and you had Seattle and they're
winning six to three and the bears of the ball
trying to get a late score. No, I would you
had so much money laying on that you know.

Speaker 5 (34:19):
In fact, I used to bet a lot more on
games and it stopped being fun.

Speaker 3 (34:24):
Like I was like, this isn't even fun. This one
have been fun and.

Speaker 5 (34:27):
This one when you're win and that's what it's But
even this win wouldn't have this win would have just
felt like avoiding a loss.

Speaker 3 (34:33):
Do you know what I'm saying? It's like the Bears
then me Crack even said it.

Speaker 5 (34:36):
The Bears should have won this game probably three or
four times if they just had any level of things
going on here.

Speaker 4 (34:44):
Have you ever had a big, big win? What was
you like your biggest win like a big parlay or
something or.

Speaker 5 (34:48):
Oh, I'll tell you what I My biggest win on
a single bet was betting the Tennessee Titans to go
to the AFC Championship game the year that they did
against my Homes at first yard of my Homes ran
down the sidelines and was able to advance. Now, I
got that, like, you know, about eight and a half
to one at the time that I placed it, because
I placed like earlier in.

Speaker 4 (35:08):
Oh that's not that's not that big of a eight
and a half to one. And how much did you
put down on it? One hundred bucks okay, so that
you know what I did that one time. I was
living in Vegas and I was a degenerate gam where
I'd bet on anything, and I saw that the French
opened in tennis.

Speaker 3 (35:23):
Right there was a big article.

Speaker 4 (35:25):
On Sergey brew Geraf I remember the name correctly, and
there was like watch out for this guy. This guy
plays well on clay or whatever. Bs They were telling
me he was twenty to one. So I put one
hundred bucks on him and he won. I thought I
was the richest. I thought I was the richest guy
in Vegas, Martin I was. I thought I was bazils

(35:45):
so I'm not kidding around. I was ready to party.
I was young and single and ready to mingle.

Speaker 3 (35:50):
My friend. It was. I thought I was the richest
hell at that point.

Speaker 5 (35:54):
You know, Yeah, I've never hit I've never hit something
super big, but I mean eight to one to me,
you know, I'll take it a good dowb by me,
you know, but twenty to one, twenty five to one,
like I see all these tickets that come out of
sociality and stuff, but I just don't have it. It's
just a fool's errand to me, I think I would
lose so much more than I would actually like when
I actually did hit the twenty to one, you'd have

(36:15):
to actually do the math on it. A.

Speaker 4 (36:17):
I have ten thousand dollars riding right now. I bet
one hundred dollars parlay on the Knicks to win the championship,
which is pretty much done.

Speaker 3 (36:28):
Deal that's gonna happen. Oh yeah, lock it up.

Speaker 5 (36:30):
And.

Speaker 4 (36:32):
To my Arizona Wildcats to win the NCAA basketball Championship.
And they're six and five right now, so that's not
looking very good right there.

Speaker 3 (36:42):
It's a little donation.

Speaker 4 (36:44):
Yeah, I'm glad I didn't bet any more than that.

Speaker 3 (36:47):
All Right, we'll come back.

Speaker 4 (36:48):
Let's see who we like for Week seventeen. That's coming
up next right here on Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 2 (36:57):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Jason Smith
Show with Mike Harmon weekdays at ten pm Eastern, seven
pm Pacific.

Speaker 4 (37:04):
All right, let's take the cast first. Thanks to Jason
Cole for stopping on. By Matt verder Am an hour
or two. Also Bill Krackenberger. I love crack. I meant
Bill Krackenberger, I mean just crack. But joining us just
a couple of minutes ago. Professional Gambler out of Las Vegas.
Thanks aleg tysher my techn little director Ian was producing

(37:27):
the show tonight, Martin producer are not producing, hosting and updates.
I love it, Martin, way to bust your hump there.
Thanks to Smith and Harmon for letting us fill in.

Speaker 3 (37:38):
And remember now coming up next, Ben Mahller is out.

Speaker 4 (37:42):
It's going to be Bernie Fratto in for Big Ben Mahller.
I'm still nervous for Bill Krackenberger in the fourteen million dollars,
even though.

Speaker 3 (37:50):
You just said it's not that much money. Well, you
made it. It was sixty sixty two thousand.

Speaker 4 (37:54):
If nobody gets eliminated, but you had to be thinking
half the field gets eliminated exactly. I don't know if
that's let's say it is, then you got about one
hundred and twenty five thousand dollars riding.

Speaker 3 (38:04):
And plus two.

Speaker 5 (38:06):
The other thing is you don't know what teams other
guys have left, right, right, so you might you might have.

Speaker 4 (38:12):
You know, they're not taking the same teams as you
guys are for the most part.

Speaker 3 (38:16):
Right they may have taken all the good teams.

Speaker 4 (38:18):
Yes, yes, yes, what happens if there's just one team left.

Speaker 3 (38:22):
That probably happens probably what happened to me fourteen million.

Speaker 5 (38:26):
The latest I got into a survivor pool, I believe
it was week fourteen, and I picked the New England
Patriots in Bailey Zappy to beat Justin Fields. Matt Eberflus
in the Chicago Bears and Matt Eberflus light. I'll tell
you he won three road.

Speaker 3 (38:46):
Games in his career as the Bears head coach. This
was one of them. Oh that was Kilja Thursday Night Football.
Justin Fields had the game.

Speaker 5 (38:55):
He ran through that Patriots defense like I mean, you
would have thought he was Michael Vick.

Speaker 3 (39:01):
The way that he just was ridiculous.

Speaker 4 (39:05):
A funny little story when I worked for another network
when I was first just getting into broadcasting business. It
was out in Las Vegas and we had a lot
of listeners and we said, come out out to Las Vegas.
We'll watch the Super Bowl together. And we didn't know
how many people were going to come. We thought maybe
it'd be like two three hundred people. Five thousand people

(39:25):
showed up.

Speaker 3 (39:26):
Wow. We were sitting in a ballroom.

Speaker 4 (39:28):
We had like one six foot sub and a keg
of beer and everybody's getting a little bored. So one
of the guys, one of the hosts, stands up. He goes, hey,
I got a fourteen parlay and stand yells out the
four teams and all five thousand people go running downstairs
like they were giving away free gold bricks.

Speaker 3 (39:47):
All four teams won.

Speaker 4 (39:49):
Wow, And the guy at Caesar's Palace were doing it
and said, if you ever do that to me again,
because don't you ever do that to me again. That's
always said, don't you ever ever do that to be again? Gibba,
Could you imagine how much they lost people betting one, two, three,
four teams in that absolutely crazy right now, let me

(40:12):
ask you just real quick before we get out of here.
Chargers Patriots. We've got three games on Saturday. Chargers are
four and that point favorite you mong us game for
the Chargers. Can the Patriots hold them off at home?

Speaker 3 (40:22):
I think the Patriots can cover.

Speaker 5 (40:24):
I think it's gonna be close, but I do think
ultimately Chargers win.

Speaker 4 (40:27):
Patriots played a good game against the Buffalo Bills. Let's
not overlook that. I think it will be closer than
a lot of people expect. I think that Patriots could
pull off the upset same thing with the Bengals and
the Broncos. A big game for the Broncos. They need
to win, but the Bengals probably gonna have to play
without t.

Speaker 3 (40:43):
Higgins.

Speaker 4 (40:44):
Still think they look good offensively.

Speaker 3 (40:46):
I think they get to win.

Speaker 4 (40:47):
I would lay the three and a half in this.

Speaker 3 (40:48):
What do you think?

Speaker 6 (40:49):
Uh?

Speaker 3 (40:50):
I would too?

Speaker 5 (40:52):
I would too, but I'm you know what the Actually,
I take that back. I'm thinking I'm going Broncos here.
I think the Broncos defense turns it around. Defense has
been one of their calling cars all year. They'll get
it right.

Speaker 4 (41:03):
And the Rams a six of that point favorite over
the Cardinals. Cardinals have been eliminated. Rams have been playing
some good football. I like the minus six and a
half Martin, this is a funny game. The Cardinals went
out so sad last week. It makes me want to
take the six and a half on their side of things.
They got to have a better showing or they're gonna
have to make some organizational changes after this year.

Speaker 3 (41:22):
Yeah. Well, good job, my friend.

Speaker 4 (41:24):
Congratulations once again, thank you uh for getting engaged.

Speaker 3 (41:29):
I certainly wish you the best.

Speaker 4 (41:31):
Coming up next, Bernie Fratter win for Ben Maller here
