Night Fever. And then this is his big comeback, you know,
in ninety four. It's like no one's put Travolta in
anything in years, like his career was done. And he

that was my favorite scene. I went back. I want
to see that scene again. So I went to see
Pulp Fiction twice. That's the last movie I've seen the
outside of going Zoey bring in her to movies when
she was younger. You go see, that's the last one
I've seen twice in there. That's pretty impressive.

grad Michigan fan. What did he tweet out last week
when the fine was was given to Michigan He was
a strain money bro. I can't believe that Ohio State
has banned him from the stadium. This is this is
stunning to me as much as the Ohio State Michigan rivalry,

absolute object failure. Now, I would say probably one out

half games out, which is not insurmountable. It's not great,
but it's not insurmountable. So it's not like they're at
the bottom of the They're not having a season like
the Braves or the Pirates or the National Sugar Coated
it's not. But yeah, tonight the Cardinals paid attendance was

seventeen thousand, six hundred and seventy five. Okay, so what
see that? Okay, that is the lowest in the history
of this incarnation of Bush Stadium. But Bush Stadium, the
third which opened in two thousand and six, Bush League,
this is before that, it was Bush stadium, but they

made changes and adjustments. This is the lowest in the
history of this Bush statum, which goes back over twenty years,
and the first time they have ever sold, ever have
sold under twenty thousand tickets for a game. Well, how
far of the Cardinals fallen? My goodness, the chickens came

home roost. They missed a good show. I mean, the
seventeen thousand plus that bought tickets at least saw the
Wilson Contres meltdown.

So I got that gift tonight.

According to the Athletic, it's the first time they've had
one single game attendance below twenty thousand since August of
nineteen ninety seven. Wow, so they were below But obviously
that was more than this was seventeen thousand tonight. Now
obviously COVID doesn't count because we play games without sure
without people.

Well, I mean, you had cardboard guys in there. That
is that was cool? Look at that how many cardboard guys?

than go watch losing baseball.

would get absolutely understand.

If nothing else, you want to stand outside and watch

For the first time since City Field opened in two
thousand and nine. Now this is a little bit older
data point, but even going back to the end of June,
they were in the top five for the first time
since two thousand and nine for home attendance. Yeah, that's
pretty impressible because last year wasn't as great as you
thought it was gonna be. But that's what happens. Hey,
the team got good, they added one Soto. You sell

more season tickets, more people buy single game tickets, it's
a big you need like that year effect to go
into into it, which is and now if they didn't
have the increased I said, okay, there's problems, but they
had the big increase this year. So I think they're
the top four, top five ever. Want to hear that
their fans are the best? Ever again?

Oh Cardinals fans, Yeah, they're the worst. The ones who
went tonight are the best fans. They're not seventeen. It's
nothing better to do that. I you know, it's funny
because I think about this because I remember this is
when I knew the Whalers were gonna move from Hartford.
Is that Peter Carmanos who bought the team in like
ninety four ninety five. He bought the team and he

was going to keep the team in Hartford, but things
weren't going well, so we said, if we can't if
we can't sell out something over this two week span,
like I'm gonna I have to look into moving the team.
And he wanted money, like he wanted all this crazy
stuff from the state of Connecticut. He wasn't gonna get
and uh so he wound up moving the team. And
when they asked, I think he had This was the
quote where he says, we have fifteen thousand of the

best fans in hockey, but that's it, Like, but plainly
that's what we got though those are the only fans
in Connecticut.

I'm like, okay, well it's fifteen out of probably what

went to like three hundred Chief games and they would
always in their reps them went they would always no, no,
we were terrible. But it did see because that.

I I got see all the guys that became part
of the Blue Jays back to back World Series teams

my Big Bowl prediction that the Browns are gonna start
all five quarterbacks this year, now I gotta come up
with another couple of different ones because Tyler Henley got
cut over the weekend, and today the Browns traded Kenny
Pickett to the Raiders. So now the Browns quarterback depth
chart is Joe Flacco, Dylan Gabriel, Schador Sanders. Right, so

I'm a little upset. Now, it doesn't mean they're still
not going to start five quarterbacks. I just have to
figure out who are the other guys at some point.

Yeah, so I got to figure out somebody else who's
gonna be there at some Mike White maybe he just
got cut today. So maybe Mike White is a guy

say this, it's gonna make sense and make more sense
why Shador Sanders has had the preseason that he has
had in which he's been slow played and a lot
of decisions that have been made have been head scratchers,
And there's many different things. In many you've heard hot
takes of, Uh, the Browns don't want him, they're mistreating
(24:49):
him as a quarterback. The Eric Dickerson story that he
knows that the teams were told not to draft Shador Sanders. Well,
if they were told not to draft him, and the Browns
didn't have to take him, but they still took him
when clearly they could have sucked this year and tanked
for Arch Manning with Dylan Gabriel and Joe Flacco and
snoopun Lee slash Kenny Pickett. They didn't need adge door standards,
but they did.

Speaker 1 (25:08):
Why has is Sanders been treated this way? Why has
he not been able to move the depth chart despite
the fact he had a really good week one of
the preseason. Why is he still being looked at as
and being talked about as he's someone that is barely
holding on to his roster spot when his talent level
is there, but obviously he needs some time. His game
this weekend wasn't that great, but his Week one was
(25:30):
really good. Now, Number one, I'll throw this out there
because we talked about this in the past. The Browns
want to make sure he's mature enough to handle being
a starting quarterback, because what have they seen in the
offseason two bad speeding his situations that did not make
him look good. He yells at one of his wide
receivers after he got sacked in his debut, which, boy,
that's not a good optic. He gets into it with
(25:51):
a reporter following the game who nedn't said anything good
about him and Tony Grossey in Cleveland. Meanwhile, it was
kind of a ha ha ha, but still it was
bad optics on Shador Sanders that hey, he needs a
little bit more mech of the maturation process to become
a starting quarterback, because it's a bigger deal when you
become the face of a billion dollar franchise or multi
(26:13):
billion dollar franchise. But the other part of it is
this is that and now and you think about it
because you know Browns, because how inept the Browns have
been even when they drafted Shador Sanders. The Browns didn't
get what they were going to be in for by
bringing him onto the roster. And to be fair for
them in the beginning, I don't think a lot of teams,
(26:35):
and a lot of us thought that Shadoor Sanders was
going to dominate conversation and interest level in him was
going to be coast to coast. At the high that
it's been, he's been the only real story in the preseason,
and as a result, when all these negative stories come up,
whether it is the reporter story or the speeding story
or Chador Sanders is really good story or he's really
(26:56):
bad story, the Browns weren't ready for the amount of
attention and oxygen that Sanders is gonna suck out of
the room. So to do anything I don't want to say, nizer,
but to do anything bold as far as his status
on the team, like move him up the depth chart, uh,
or you give him a chance to start all of this.
They know that whatever move they make is gonna be
(27:19):
dealt with so much scrutiny that this is decision that
can blow up in their faces. So they don't really
know how to handle this guy being so much of
the daily story because they've been used to the last
few years going to Sean Watson's your quarterback. We don't
want even want to talk about your team, So hey, okay,
well no, we don't want to talk about you. We
don't want to talk about to Sean Watson, so you're
off the radar. But now Shoudoor Sanders has put you
(27:42):
strictly on the radar, and whatever they do, they know
is gonna be front page news. So they want to
slow play this until they really understand what kind of
talent that is, because this is a guy that's an
outsized personality, outsize attention. But at the same time, he's
a backup quarterback, So we don't want to move him
up too quickly. We don't move them down too quickly.
We're gonna talk about him too over the top and
(28:04):
giving him praise. We don't want to give him too
much criticism because we don't know how it's gonna play.
Because whatever he does mushrooms out of control. Again, his
story sucks all the oxygen out of the room. So
everything with him is being slow played and behind closed
doors because they don't know how to handle it. They
don't know how to handle him being on and being
this big of a personality and a story.
Speaker 2 (28:24):
Well, to be fair, I mean you brought up the
he must not be named to go all Voldemort talking
about Deshaun Watson. They brought him in a year after
those allegations. They traded for him, and then they signed
him to an almost all guaranteed deal, right full on guaranteed,
here we go, which is why all the owners hate him.
By the way, his agent's the same guy that represents
(28:44):
Michael Parsons. But all of that to say that if
he was that good to be the number one guy,
he'd be the number one guy. Kevin Stefanski, I don't
think he's gonna wait to ordain him the number one
guy if he's ready to play. So you know, behind
the scenes, I gotta I gotta give him some credit
that it's a he still needs to learn. And we
(29:06):
saw that week three, didn't get to play in the
week twos game, Week one against the Ones, didn't play
so well. Substitutions come through, had his moments, had his
and we know the athleticism we watched it. You know,
I kept hearing the site citation of his accuracy right
(29:27):
of his completion percentage from college, like I watched that
with Caleb Williams. It was only sixty two and a
half percent. But you know what, you can have an
interceptionallest streak, you know, how you take the sack instead
of actually trying to make a play or.

Throwing the ball away. Tada, my numbers higher.
Speaker 2 (29:42):
But all of that to say is as you move
forward Cleveland, you don't go into a year saying, all right,
we're gonna just decide we're gonna take our lumps. We
recognize they're not gonna be a very good team. They're
not the same roster they were two or three years ago.
When Watson came in. That was a team that a
lot of analysts looked at and said, hey, this could

be one of your top five rosters if this guy's
any good. And guess what. He took a year off
before he showed up, and guess what, he wasn't good,
And he's been terrible all the way through, and now
he's hurt all the time, et cetera. So they've been
on the radar. They've just been getting all the poison
pens all the way through, which is why as soon
as there was more of the same, Tony Grosei and

all those guys were ready for it. Look, I think
a lot of folks would love to watch him succeed.
We saw some great moments when he was at Colorado.
But I can't believe that Kevin Stefanski would be saying, Nah,
we're just gonna watch and learn and see what happened.
Certainly Jimmy Haslin he wants to see it succeed or
fail because he wants to.

fan would have a different view of last season now.

still they're not too far. They're only five and a
half games out, which is not insurmountable. It's not great,
but it's not insurmountable. So it's not like they're at
the bottom of the They're not having a season like
the Braves or the Pirates or the National Sugar Coated
it's not. But yeah, tonight the Cardinals paid attendance was

seventeen thousand, six hundred and seventy five. Okay, so what
see that? Okay, that is the lowest in the history
of this incarnation of Bush Stadium. But Bush Stadium, the
third which opened in two thousand and six, Bush League,
this is before that, it was Bush stadium, but they

made changes and adjustments. This is the lowest in the
history of this Bush statum, which goes back over twenty years,
and the first time they have ever sold, ever have
sold under twenty thousand tickets for a game. Well, how
far of the Cardinals fallen? My goodness, the chickens came

home roost. They missed a good show. I mean, the
seventeen thousand plus that bought tickets at least saw the
Wilson Contres meltdown.

So I got that gift tonight.

According to the Athletic, it's the first time they've had
one single game attendance below twenty thousand since August of
nineteen ninety seven. Wow, so they were below But obviously
that was more than this was seventeen thousand tonight. Now
obviously COVID doesn't count because we play games without sure
without people.
Speaker 2 (18:36):
Well, I mean, you had cardboard guys in there. That
is that was cool? Look at that how many cardboard guys?
Speaker 1 (18:44):
Though? We had a forty five.

Forty five thousand cardboard cutouts. They were all bought by
the same guy in different poses.

games under five hundred, so it's not like they've fallen

and I don't know what the weather necessarily has been there,
but plenty of storms in the Midwest, plenty of upper
ninety degree high humidity days, you'd rather do something else
than go watch losing baseball.

Yeah, I mean, look, and it's not like there was
a hoboob going through town. There was Phoenix. If there
was a hoboob going through town, you can understand. I
would get absolutely understand.

If nothing else, you want to stand outside and watch
the haboo Yeah, I'm gonna go to the game. Why
it's the best place to see haboob. See, there's the market,
there's a marketing play. Not only do you get to
see the Pirates, you may get to see.

Now five games in the standings, that's what separates it.

For the first time since City Field opened in two
thousand and nine. Now this is a little bit older
data point, but even going back to the end of June,
they were in the top five for the first time
since two thousand and nine for home attendance. Yeah, that's
pretty impressible because last year wasn't as great as you
thought it was gonna be. But that's what happens. Hey,
the team got good, they added one Soto. You sell
(20:53):
more season tickets, more people buy single game tickets, it's
a big you need like that year effect to go
into into it, which is and now if they didn't
have the increased I said, okay, there's problems, but they
had the big increase this year. So I think they're
the top four, top five ever. Want to hear that
their fans are the best? Ever again?
Speaker 1 (21:09):
Oh Cardinals fans, Yeah, they're the worst. The ones who
went tonight are the best fans. They're not seventeen. It's
nothing better to do that. I you know, it's funny
because I think about this because I remember this is
when I knew the Whalers were gonna move from Hartford.
Is that Peter Carmanos who bought the team in like
ninety four ninety five. He bought the team and he
(21:34):
was going to keep the team in Hartford, but things
weren't going well, so we said, if we can't if
we can't sell out something over this two week span,
like I'm gonna I have to look into moving the team.
And he wanted money, like he wanted all this crazy
stuff from the state of Connecticut. He wasn't gonna get
and uh so he wound up moving the team. And
when they asked, I think he had This was the
quote where he says, we have fifteen thousand of the

best fans in hockey, but that's it, Like, but plainly
that's what we got though those are the only fans
in Connecticut.

I'm like, okay, well it's fifteen out of probably what
eighteen five?
Speaker 1 (22:06):
I mean, that's not bad. It's near to a sellout.

Man getting close and yes, since it wasn't a Schemes
day unless he was going to come and sign autographs
for every one of those seventeen thousand, you showing up
in the middle of the week or early week for
the Pirates, nobody. I got home from work. It's really
been hot and sweltering. I busted my ass for ten hours.

That's always count tickets sold, right, as long as you
know they were sold. We would go to We would
go to Syracuse Chief games, right, my dad. I've not
been to any more games my life. When the Syracuse
Chief games over a four year span, I think I
went to like three hundred Chief games and they would
always in their reps them went they would always no, no,
we were terrible. But it did see because that.

You couldn't see a lot of guys.

I I got see all the guys that became part
of the Blue Jays back to back World Series teams
in ninety two ninety three. Like one Goosman came up
through there, and and and a whole bunch of other players.
Is like, wow, they're all really good. Mark Whitton came
up through there. But I remember they would always there
was like maybe three hundred people at the game, and
they would say tonight's attendance is three four hundred and seven.
Everybody's just laugh going, come on, man, there's three hundred

people here. You're talking about three times. But they would
count all the season tickets and tickets sold. It's like,
there's only three hundred people here tonight, man, not even.

Now from the NFL today, I'm a little bummed that
my Big Bowl prediction that the Browns are gonna start
all five quarterbacks this year, now I gotta come up
with another couple of different ones because Tyler Henley got
cut over the weekend, and today the Browns traded Kenny
Pickett to the Raiders. So now the Browns quarterback depth
chart is Joe Flacco, Dylan Gabriel, Schador Sanders. Right, so
(23:49):
I'm a little upset. Now, it doesn't mean they're still
not going to start five quarterbacks. I just have to
figure out who are the other guys at some point.
Speaker 2 (23:54):
Like come back?
Speaker 1 (23:56):
Yeah, so I got to figure out somebody else who's
gonna be there at some Mike White maybe he just
got cut today. So maybe Mike White is a guy
that hangs out and he starts the last couple of
games for the Browns, Like I could see that. So
they're still gonna get five, It's just gonna be a
different five now, all right, that's fine.
Speaker 2 (24:10):
Nate Sudfeld could show up any day now.
Speaker 1 (24:13):
But a couple of things, like something a little bit
different about Shador Sanders, because clearly the storyline with him
is still going. Now he's bumped up to third, right,
he was fourth, Right now he's the third because they
traded Kenny Pickett.
Speaker 2 (24:25):
Are people happy and he moved up?
Speaker 1 (24:27):
The depth chart is that you know, Look when I
say this, it's gonna make sense and make more sense
why Shador Sanders has had the preseason that he has
had in which he's been slow played and a lot
of decisions that have been made have been head scratchers,
And there's many different things. In many you've heard hot
takes of, Uh, the Browns don't want him, they're mistreating
(24:49):
him as a quarterback. The Eric Dickerson story that he
knows that the teams were told not to draft Shador Sanders. Well,
if they were told not to draft him, and the Browns
didn't have to take him, but they still took him
when clearly they could have sucked this year and tanked
for Arch Manning with Dylan Gabriel and Joe Flacco and
snoopun Lee slash Kenny Pickett. They didn't need adge door standards,
but they did.
Speaker 3 (25:08):
So.
Speaker 1 (25:08):
Why has is Sanders been treated this way? Why has
he not been able to move the depth chart despite
the fact he had a really good week one of
the preseason. Why is he still being looked at as
and being talked about as he's someone that is barely
holding on to his roster spot when his talent level
is there, but obviously he needs some time. His game
this weekend wasn't that great, but his Week one was
(25:30):
really good. Now, Number one, I'll throw this out there
because we talked about this in the past. The Browns
want to make sure he's mature enough to handle being
a starting quarterback, because what have they seen in the
offseason two bad speeding his situations that did not make
him look good. He yells at one of his wide
receivers after he got sacked in his debut, which, boy,
that's not a good optic. He gets into it with
(25:51):
a reporter following the game who nedn't said anything good
about him and Tony Grossey in Cleveland. Meanwhile, it was
kind of a ha ha ha, but still it was
bad optics on Shador Sanders that hey, he needs a
little bit more mech of the maturation process to become
a starting quarterback, because it's a bigger deal when you
become the face of a billion dollar franchise or multi
(26:13):
billion dollar franchise. But the other part of it is
this is that and now and you think about it
because you know Browns, because how inept the Browns have
been even when they drafted Shador Sanders. The Browns didn't
get what they were going to be in for by
bringing him onto the roster. And to be fair for
them in the beginning, I don't think a lot of teams,
(26:35):
and a lot of us thought that Shadoor Sanders was
going to dominate conversation and interest level in him was
going to be coast to coast. At the high that
it's been, he's been the only real story in the preseason,
and as a result, when all these negative stories come up,
whether it is the reporter story or the speeding story
or Chador Sanders is really good story or he's really
(26:56):
bad story, the Browns weren't ready for the amount of
attention and oxygen that Sanders is gonna suck out of
the room. So to do anything I don't want to say, nizer,
but to do anything bold as far as his status
on the team, like move him up the depth chart, uh,
or you give him a chance to start all of this.
They know that whatever move they make is gonna be
(27:19):
dealt with so much scrutiny that this is decision that
can blow up in their faces. So they don't really
know how to handle this guy being so much of
the daily story because they've been used to the last
few years going to Sean Watson's your quarterback. We don't
want even want to talk about your team, So hey, okay,
well no, we don't want to talk about you. We
don't want to talk about to Sean Watson, so you're
off the radar. But now Shoudoor Sanders has put you
(27:42):
strictly on the radar, and whatever they do, they know
is gonna be front page news. So they want to
slow play this until they really understand what kind of
talent that is, because this is a guy that's an
outsized personality, outsize attention. But at the same time, he's
a backup quarterback, So we don't want to move him
up too quickly. We don't move them down too quickly.
We're gonna talk about him too over the top and
(28:04):
giving him praise. We don't want to give him too
much criticism because we don't know how it's gonna play.
Because whatever he does mushrooms out of control. Again, his
story sucks all the oxygen out of the room. So
everything with him is being slow played and behind closed
doors because they don't know how to handle it. They
don't know how to handle him being on and being
this big of a personality and a story.
Speaker 2 (28:24):
Well, to be fair, I mean you brought up the
he must not be named to go all Voldemort talking
about Deshaun Watson. They brought him in a year after
those allegations. They traded for him, and then they signed
him to an almost all guaranteed deal, right full on guaranteed,
here we go, which is why all the owners hate him.
By the way, his agent's the same guy that represents
(28:44):
Michael Parsons. But all of that to say that if
he was that good to be the number one guy,
he'd be the number one guy. Kevin Stefanski, I don't
think he's gonna wait to ordain him the number one
guy if he's ready to play. So you know, behind
the scenes, I gotta I gotta give him some credit
that it's a he still needs to learn. And we
(29:06):
saw that week three, didn't get to play in the
week twos game, Week one against the Ones, didn't play
so well. Substitutions come through, had his moments, had his
and we know the athleticism we watched it. You know,
I kept hearing the site citation of his accuracy right
(29:27):
of his completion percentage from college, like I watched that
with Caleb Williams. It was only sixty two and a
half percent. But you know what, you can have an
interceptionallest streak, you know, how you take the sack instead
of actually trying to make a play or.
Speaker 1 (29:39):
Throwing the ball away. Tada, my numbers higher.
Speaker 2 (29:42):
But all of that to say is as you move
forward Cleveland, you don't go into a year saying, all right,
we're gonna just decide we're gonna take our lumps. We
recognize they're not gonna be a very good team. They're
not the same roster they were two or three years ago.
When Watson came in. That was a team that a
lot of analysts looked at and said, hey, this could
(30:03):
be one of your top five rosters if this guy's
any good. And guess what. He took a year off
before he showed up, and guess what, he wasn't good,
And he's been terrible all the way through, and now
he's hurt all the time, et cetera. So they've been
on the radar. They've just been getting all the poison
pens all the way through, which is why as soon
as there was more of the same, Tony Grosei and
(30:23):
all those guys were ready for it. Look, I think
a lot of folks would love to watch him succeed.
We saw some great moments when he was at Colorado.
But I can't believe that Kevin Stefanski would be saying, Nah,
we're just gonna watch and learn and see what happened.
Certainly Jimmy Haslin he wants to see it succeed or
fail because he wants to.

in was him write that guy right over there.
