the night there was no baseball, Baseball ceases to exist.
I hate baseball, didn't ever have a baseball died. We're

(01:41):
never going to talk about baseball again. Baseball, We're not
doing it. No, not doing it. I'm not gonna talk
about it. No, it's done. It's done as a sport.
It's over. It's over. Sorry, it's done. It's over. Team,
it's done baseball. And they're in the time of death
of baseball. Baseball here Thursday, June eighth, whatever time was
that Ozzy Albi's went deep to end that Mets game

(02:03):
against the Brave.

Speaker 4 (02:05):
You know on this date, Dance was released, so we
can celebrate that.

Speaker 1 (02:11):
Now, you see that that's just just a patronizing way
to get that word in the show. That's what you're
just trying to get it in. Now. It's not even
it's got to be Listen. When you want to talk
about anniversaries, it's got to be a five year anniversary,
a one year, a five year, a ten year, fifty.
It's got to be an even number, like he's a
here's the eight year anniversary or the thirty Because you
got anniversaries every day, this big benchmark anniversary. You can't

(02:33):
just say, oh, the bat Dance came out in nineteen
eighty nine, was the eleven, twenty thirty, the thirty fourth anniverary?
Next year bat Dance, thirty fifth anniversary Batdance?

Speaker 4 (02:41):
Okay, how about Prince would have been sixty five yesterday,
So today we commemorate the fact that bat Dance from
the nineteen eighty nine classic Batman came out.

Speaker 5 (02:53):
I'm about a three hour anniversary of the Braves win.

Speaker 4 (02:55):
No, I celebrated pitch by pitch and really set it up.
There's about it now, I know. I'm just trying to
bring you something positive since you're all hateful baseball's dead.

Speaker 1 (03:09):
Come on, man, you want a good stuff. I actually
have a good batdance story. You want a great batdance story,
so I want I think it was. Now you gotta
remember this is nineteen eighty nine. Now, okay, it's nineteen
eighty nine, so I think I won five dollars from
my roommates. Okay, my three roommates. We were coming back
from dinner and we were walking up to our room,

(03:32):
and you know, it's it's dinner time in a dorm,
so you know, it's a lot of people walking up,
up and down everything, and we're talking about bat dance
and I just started going Vicky veil, Vicky veil, Vicky veil, right,
because that's part of bad dance. Sure, and my roommates said,
I did walk all the way from one side from
when we get up the steps, which is the very
beginning of our floor, walk all the way down past everybody,

(03:53):
all the way to the end of the floor, just
doing Vicky veil, Vicky veil and don't stop and don't you.
Got to do it all all the way down. And
I was like, what do I get? And like my
one round, I got two dollars, I got a dog
a don I said, oh, five bucks, okay, sure, so
we do it, and of course I wind up walking
by a lot of people, a lot of them girls
that you know. I was like, hey, I'd like to
talk to him. This one at some point. Nope. I

(04:14):
just walked down doing them Vicky Veil, Vicky Veil, Vicky Veil,
with no reason. And my roommates are watching from far
down and I'm doing they They're They're running behind me
like every like twenty feet to make sure I'm still
doing it. I go all the way down to the
end of the hall doing the Vicky veil, and I
turned around wanting to everybody know, I want to bet. No, no, no,
they were gone there. I walked back, going I want
to bet. I want to bet. I won five dollars.

(04:36):
I won, I won five dollars, won five dollars. Okay, okay, yeah.

Speaker 4 (04:41):
Boy, you were really willing to sell yourself out for
a very little money.

Speaker 1 (04:45):
Vicky Veil, Vicky Veil, Vicky Veil, Vicky Mail. Ooh yeah,
ooh yeah, Vicky Veil.

Speaker 4 (04:52):
Like that dance, you gotta go go with the smile,
Vicky Veil. VI See now it's gonna be in your
head for the rest tonight and into tomorrow.

Speaker 1 (05:04):
And I couldn't just do it like I was just
saying it. I was like doing like robot motions with
yeah on the whole thing. Sure, Vicky Vicky Vicky go
in there and sell so I put you in a
better movie. They're like, wow, is this guy? This guy's
drunk at like six o'clock on a Wednesday. What the
hell is going on with this?

Speaker 4 (05:23):
Hey, we were watching a right there. They had a
guy who was a suspected d uy truck. It was
before we even went on air here in Los Angeles.
That was before seven pm.

Speaker 1 (05:33):
Well now you went dark on that. Because dark? Who
knows what happened? Come on, man, what do you gotta
do that? Harmon? I had a good day. I had
a good whole half story about Vicky Vale told the story.
I gave a punchline. You know what happened. There was
a real serious day. Why are you gonna do that?

Speaker 4 (05:51):
Why?

Speaker 1 (05:51):
Why?

Speaker 4 (05:53):
But he's just I was just saying, I mean we
tailgate at nine am for.

Speaker 1 (05:57):
Ailmost games, I'd almost I'd almost rather hear off the
Albis walk off home running here? Didn't did I say that?
Why did I say that?

Speaker 4 (06:04):
You too?

Speaker 1 (06:05):
Out the pitch, swung on, bunted deep, breakfield, Get out
of here, Rossie run fuck game.

Speaker 2 (06:19):
Ozzie hobbies with his fourteenth Hummer.

Speaker 1 (06:22):
It's a three run shot.

Speaker 4 (06:23):
He's got forty two RBIs and the Braids win the
most amazing game.

Speaker 1 (06:28):
Of the year. So from thirteen to ten, am, Oh,
it's so, it's so great. I hate baseball.

Speaker 5 (06:37):
And then I lifted him.

Speaker 1 (06:38):
I need I need a break from the Mets, like
I need like when like when I say I need
a break, this happens too three times a year. Like
I need to wear to not even read about them
at all during the day, not even do it. I need,
I need a break. It's it's spre I.

Speaker 4 (06:51):
Think we learned something tonight. Though. What's awful that that
he and Frank are the same guy, because isn't that
what Frank put up on Twitter?

Speaker 5 (06:58):
Well, they are blood brothers.

Speaker 1 (07:00):
It's it's awful. Are you his account? No? Did he
put up that? Really?

Speaker 4 (07:05):
Really?

Speaker 1 (07:06):
Wow much He's taking from me now because I've been
talking about needing breaks up for the last few years.
I need a break, man, I need I need a bread.

Speaker 4 (07:14):
I need a break from the met and break something
to do to not watch this team.

Speaker 1 (07:18):
And I'm seriously and and and and look, I understand
two things that are gonna help me. One is that
the Jets have Aaron Rodgers. And that's what's important right
that that I can go watch a vidiot. I'm gonna
go watch it right now. I'm talking. I'm gonna watch
a video of Aaron Rodgers uh throwing a nice tight
spiral uh to somebody from I. I I can do it.
I can watch it right now. It's gonna be great.

(07:39):
I can watch right, it's gonna be awesome. Look at
look at as I found it all the big slow
motion pass from yesterday. Oh, it looks so good intercepted right,
let's stop with that. Look at this. It's beautiful. It's
the best rotation on a football that's ever been thrown.
Look at that. That mayll be the best throw in
the history of the NFL. And I'm watching this over
and over and over again. I can watch it.

Speaker 4 (07:59):
So that's what it's important therapeutic for you.

Speaker 1 (08:01):
The second thing is the second thing, Vick Vickyville, is
that I can seriously, you think I'm lying to you,
but I'm gonna go to bed tonight. It's like, how
do I go to bed? And I always try to
find ways, certain things to think about to go to bed,
and he gets me tired everything. But when it's time
for you to go to bed, I'm really gonna sit
there and I'm gonna think, Okay, this is who the

(08:23):
Mets have to get rid of and by the trade
deadline to shed salary and get younger because we're too
bleep and old and we stink we're terrible. No, I'm
not gonna I don't do that. Come on, man, I'm
just gonna go to bed and I'm gonna think Verlander, Sureser,
Marte Albi's no, Stopana Escobar, everybody, all those big up

(08:48):
instead of the counties.

Speaker 4 (08:51):
Of dollars.

Speaker 1 (08:51):
And I think I'm thinking, okay, who would take Verlander
and the rest of this deal which is terrible now
because look at his era, it's awful. Him. Insures are
were terrible. They needed them to be big pitchers. The
last two nights they were bad. What can they get
as long as they pay this, I don't care what
we get back. It's gonna be eating money all of this.
And I'm gonna think, where's the best way. Who can
we dump Verlin or on? Who can we dump shurs

(09:13):
are on? Who can we dump Martean? Who can we
dump Canna? On? Who can we bring up? Let's see
the young guys play. Let's i mean, that's what I'm
gonna go to bed. That's exactly how I'm gonna go
to bed.

Speaker 4 (09:24):
It's gonna be okay, buddy. I think I think it'll
be okay for it.

Speaker 1 (09:28):
It'll be okay because we have another one hundred games
to celebrate suffer through.

Speaker 4 (09:34):
But it'll be training camp soon enough. And as long
as Aaron Rodgers shows up, you still have hope.

Speaker 1 (09:39):
Yeah, and he's he's showing up. I mean, you know,
it's not like he's not showing I mean, you know,
that's a long time he's showing up. Listen, Well, he
only doesn't show up when it's it's in the off
season and he wants to do something else because he's
thrown enough pretty passes to Mets players jet two Mets
players to Jets players during the OTAs. It's fine, we

(10:00):
can cancel a few days, it's all right. Could he
close out games?

Speaker 4 (10:03):
Oh no, we've seen the playoffs.

Speaker 5 (10:07):
Picks in the Hall of Fame game, he was.

Speaker 1 (10:10):
Not even gonna play in the Hall of Fame game.
What are you talking about? You don't you gonna play?
Of course? Are you kidding? Zach Wilson, He's like, yeah,
Zach Wilson will start and play the majority of the game,
I guarantee.

Speaker 5 (10:23):
And when he lights up the team you're playing, he's
gonna take Rogers job.

Speaker 4 (10:28):
Yeah, that's good, that would be fantastic.

Speaker 1 (10:31):
Just I need this one thing tonight, Frostburg. I need
this one thing tonight. Man, this is a rough night.
You know, it's not you know, I laid off Cindergart
saying I'm the worst bitch of ever. I laid off
that for you. I laid off that.

Speaker 5 (10:43):
There is no Syndergard without you. It's all your fault.

Speaker 1 (10:46):
It's not my faulty, it's not my fault. He throws
sixty five miles an hour. And do you know, well
you broke him. A lot of years went by, man,
a lot of years.

Speaker 5 (10:54):
You have to name him four.

Speaker 1 (10:56):
Yeah, well he was great.

Speaker 4 (11:00):
And then uh, you had the unfortunate circumstance whereby Thor's
sister crushed Molnar and that was the end of it.
In this case, it's an extension of his arm, Kate Blanche,
it just took him out right crushes that crushes his arm,

(11:20):
and he's never the same.

Speaker 5 (11:22):
For my ass was supposed to be strong, strong.

Speaker 4 (11:29):
He did go through a period where he was brothor
or fat thor.

Speaker 1 (11:32):
He was fat. The Mets used to be thorn. Now
they're fat thor.

Speaker 4 (11:36):
That called him bro thor because of you know, trying
to be sensitive.

Speaker 5 (11:40):
At least he got the chop house.

Speaker 1 (11:41):
I mean, really, that's all I'm gonna go to bed tonight.
That's think about.

Speaker 4 (11:47):
No, No, it's probably a better thought either that or
go back to Kelly's. I mean that'll get you through it.

Speaker 1 (11:52):
Well, no, well there's there's also retail therapy and there's McDonald's.
So there's both of those things. What will I go?

Speaker 4 (11:59):
What will I go that? There's the trifecta for you
there tonight, you know what? Tonight maybe the night where
I go, Hey, welcome McDonald's.

Speaker 2 (12:07):
Sir.

Speaker 1 (12:08):
Can I take your honor? Listen, I'm a Mets fan.
I'm so sorry about that, sir. What can I do
for you? I need that chocolate sheet cake that's not
on the menu. I know that's a that's an urban myth, Sirah,
they don't have that. I know it's there. You get
it for me because I need it, all right, give me,
give me fifteen minutes. That'll be thirteen ninety nine. I'll
pay it. I'm coming around. Just have that chocolate cake
out for me. I want it right now.

Speaker 4 (12:28):
And here's where it becomes really problematic is that you
have a very good chance that the person to drive
through has no idea what the hell of met is.

Speaker 1 (12:37):
Oh no, no, they look, LA's a baseball town. Come on,
they know what the Mets are.

Speaker 4 (12:41):
Come on, there's how many people what's the last census
frostper How many of those people do you think don't
know what the hell of met is?

Speaker 1 (12:50):
If I go to McDonald's, be the person there knows
what do the Mets are. If I said to anybody, hey,
do you know what the Mets are? They would say bet.
Some people other than it says it on your head,
my maga. We have an n Y on it. So
that's you know. But tonight, I mean, look, I love
the fact that Mets the number one trending topic in
the world. I love the fact that the Mets sucking

(13:12):
and all that and all the braves gloating gets to happen. Oh,
three straight nights we overcame, three run deficits, and and
oh throw it again with ped Alonzo. Look how much
we've put that back in his face and all your faces. Yes,
the Braves, we're all we're so great. We're just we're
just the greatest team ever put together. And oh it's
like it's like the gods came down and sprinkled ust

(13:35):
with with with god dust and now we're we're we're
we're that team now that we could do no wrong.
And we're made up of an angel at a baby
with a Viking or whatever the like was. That's Braves,
That's the Braves and the Mets. I really like that.

Speaker 4 (13:52):
It's not gold dust like the former wrestler.

Speaker 1 (13:54):
It's god dust, no gold dust. What is what is
the life? What does he say? Thora is like it's
like an angel had a baby with a pirate? Is that?
What does he say? It's like, what does Drex say?
It's like an angel had a baby with a with
a viking with a pirate with a I can't believe
I came with that life.

Speaker 4 (14:12):
And the funny thing is his endgame is on right,
like a pirate had a baby with an angel. He's not.

Speaker 1 (14:17):
That's it.

Speaker 4 (14:18):
You're a dude.

Speaker 1 (14:19):
There you go, pirate with a bait. There you go. See.
I knew it. I knew it. Twitter at How about
a fresco Mike at Swollen Jason Smith Show with my
best friend Mike Carmon. You want it, I'm gonna go
to sleep tonight. That's it, hopefully sheet cake from McDonald's
retail therapy and thinking about who the Mets can get
rid of. There you go. That's how I go to sleep,
That's how I sauce. But coming up next, we get

(14:41):
into a big story out of the NFL because there
is a big time running back who now I believe
is officially available for anybody. I mean unlessa trade came
in the last eight minutes, but you can go out
and get him, and I would go out and get
this guy. That's next right here, Jason and Mike from
the Tirec dot Com Studios. This is Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 2 (15:02):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Jason Smith
Show with Mike Harmon weekdays at ten pm Eastern seven
pm Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 5 (15:12):
I thought the Mets were only good in fairy Tales.

Speaker 1 (15:16):
Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 6 (15:17):
The Jason Smith Show with my best friend Mike Harmon,
still with the Seinfeld Wait for Seinfeld stinger on it
because I pulled the.

Speaker 1 (15:31):
Still won't get the clean version, still won't get it
now and I'm just wait good, gonna play it right
off of YouTube.

Speaker 5 (15:37):
Because Seinfeld, are we ready for the Keith Hernandez.

Speaker 1 (15:40):
No, Michael, Michael, I'm not gonna tell I'm not gonna
tell him that. No, tell him go Buckos, Go Bucko.

Speaker 4 (15:46):
I'm Keith Nandy.

Speaker 1 (15:47):
That's right.

Speaker 4 (15:48):
At the beginning of an episode two.

Speaker 1 (15:50):
Yeah, yeah, Jan is saying, not, Michael, I'm not gonna
tell him that. I'm not I'm not going to go Buccos.
Go the Jason Smith Show, the Bike Carbon Live, the
Ti rat dot Com Studios, Big NFL story today, And
I assume now it's official, because it's past midnight that
you can go get Dalvin Cook, running back of the Vikings,

(16:12):
who we told you last week. He he's gonna get cut.
They took him down off the Twitter banner. You saw
Kevin O'Connell say glowing things about Alexander Madison being a
three down running back. You knew Dalvin Cook was going
to be available. They tried to trade him, they couldn't
because he was due too much money, and the decision
was they were releasing him. They had till late tonight

(16:34):
to try to find a trade partner. And if you
haven't found a trade partner yet, you're not gonna find one.
So he's going to be available for anyone. And usually
when you get to June first, the high priced veterans
get cut and it's well, what does this guy have left?
Maybe you're thinking about a one year deal potentially, and

(16:55):
how many games are they really going to be good for?
But Dalvin Cook is different man. This is a guy
that has a couple of good years left as a
running back and he's not gonna get much more than
that because the guy's had a lot of touches throughout
his career. But he's still one of the few bell
Cow running backs that will run for eleven twelve hundred
yards and is good in the red zone as a

(17:18):
as a goal line back. Dalvin Cook's got a couple
of good years left and there's a couple of teams
that he could really really help. And I'm not gonna
go much more past a couple of years with him
because you're getting to that point where, hey, that magical
age of thirty for running back when you talk about
what he's had going on already, the responsibility, all the
carries he's had. It's not gonna go past that. But

(17:40):
I'll tell you what right now, two years Dalvin Cook, Yeah,
I'm making if I if I, as soon as I
could make that phone call or however I can get
my conversation to him that hey, we're interested. I do
it because he's a guy that can really help you
for a couple of years.

Speaker 4 (17:53):
Well, you send out smoke signals, or you ask head
coaches and watch them squirm as they have to maybe
dodge questions about him. Since it wasn't time on the
clock to where he was truly a free agent. Last
minute trade efforts. I'd be curious to see if there's
any team that you know, at least offered something better

(18:14):
than a bucket of balls up there.

Speaker 1 (18:17):
But he moves on.

Speaker 4 (18:19):
Was a fourteen million dollar contract, but a guy that
tread still on the tires, right, four straight years of
at least a thousand yards rushing, some good numbers in
the receiving game. But you're wondering where the cliff is
based on usage these last few years. He's been durable,

(18:40):
right rookie year, second year, had injury issues, couldn't stay
on the field. But the last four years, other than
you see some of Madison to spell him at points
during games, the durability questions have been asked and answered.
Now it's just a question of how much is it
I want to go to a contender versus I still

(19:00):
want to maximize my deal or can I find a
spot where maybe I can marry both of those?

Speaker 1 (19:07):
Now the couple of places I like, here's what I
like because we keep hearing Dallas right here with Dallas
Dallas do.

Speaker 4 (19:12):
And I like it. And I'll tell you one reason
it's really important about it. They have, as of right now,
according to spot track, the fourth most available cap space. Yeah,
so look like shiny new toys.

Speaker 1 (19:26):
Yeah he does, he does. And while Dallas seems like
it would be an okay place, maybe they're still waiting
for the reunion with Ezekiel Elliott for not a lot
of money and who knows, And and if they really
wanted to, they would have addressed the running back position
more in the draft. They really didn't, even though Tony
Pollard is coming off of an injury that you don't
know when he's going to be back, and look, Pollard

(19:47):
became one of the top ten running backs in the
league last year. So yeah, he's a guy that catches
the ball out of the backfield. He has a three
down back. So the fact that they didn't really address
it and Elliott is still out there, it tells me
the Cowboys were like, ah, maybe we're a ok.

Speaker 4 (20:00):
Right they did draft douce Vaughn.

Speaker 1 (20:03):
Yeah true, great, Yeah, good name, good name. But there's
three places that I really that are great landing spots
for him because they would he would take them to
the next level they need to get to. Right If
you're talking about Dalvin Cook going to a place where

(20:24):
he could be the number one running back, where he
could be a three down back, but he could also
split time and maybe save some tread on his tires.
The first place is Kansas City because Kansas City's running
back situation is just a mess. It's been a mess
for a couple of years and he's still been able
to win the Super Bowl.

Speaker 4 (20:40):
I was gonna say, how big a mess is it
really when you got a guy average in nearly five
yards of carry as a low load draft rookie.

Speaker 1 (20:48):
Yeah, but I mean, is he going to be that
guy for you know? How if he give him fifteen
eighteen carries a game. You know sometimes is he a
change of pace guy? Is he that guy? But it's
a it's a gamble. But if you go get Dalvin Cook,
suddenly you have someone that can be that bell cow.
If it doesn't work, he can split time and still
be a goal line running back. And you know they

(21:08):
don't like Clyde Edwards Hilaire because they didn't give him
the fifth year option. And you don't know, I mean,
I don't know, Jack mckinna, I mean, how much longer
is he gonna be in the league. I mean every
year that now, don't worry, don't worry. I mean, it's
it's it's a lot to gamble just to trust that
Pacheco's gonna take that next step. So I get they
like him, But you can get Dalvin Cook for not
a lot of money, and all of a sudden, that's

(21:29):
another big weapon you can throw in there. I think
he can keep Kansas City at the top if they
go out and get him.

Speaker 4 (21:34):
Yeah, but how much is not a lot of money
because as of right now, they have one point one
million dollars in cap space, and that's with the number
of rookies that are playing Pithal Roles.

Speaker 1 (21:46):
Yeah, but you you can always say, listen, we're gonna
restructure you into as signing bonus. We're gonna restructure your deal. Here,
We're gonna restructure. I know it's always funny to do that.

Speaker 4 (21:54):
Yeah, yeah, no, it's it's you can always do that dance,
there's no question.

Speaker 1 (21:58):
And how much money do you think he's gonna get?
Fourteen million a year is too much? Right? I gotta
think ten million a year is too much, But maybe
two years and fifteen million is probably what it would
be for Dalvin Cook. I'm thinking that's probably gonna be
the landing point too.

Speaker 4 (22:11):
We're fifty two for fifteen, two for seventeen somewhere around that.

Speaker 1 (22:15):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (22:15):
Man, I'd have to look at where where the current
rankings are of running back deals. But yeah, it's gonna
be a significant pay cut. And how much does he
want to go? And we know Patrick Mahomes is all
about winning, So even though people say he's doing everybody wrong,
just like Tom Brady before him, it's like he's got
plenty of money. Stop worrying about his wallet. He's doing

(22:39):
just fine. He's a partial owner in multiple teams. At
this point where he will passively generate a lot of income.
So stop wallet walllet check it out, Patrick Mahomes. He
wants to give a little bit back to keep the
the juggernaut rolling. He's gonna do it.

Speaker 1 (22:58):
The other place I like because it put them over
the top is Cincinnati. All right, Now, you don't know
what's gonna happen. You let some ogp Ryan go. Joe
Mixon is a dice roll right, you do know what
you're gonna get from the guy. How healthy he's gonna be,
How good is he going to be? It's a gamble.
And well you had you had the nice little uh

(23:18):
safety net and pe right, look, you know you made it.
You drafted a guy in the fourth round. You're hoping
he's gonna be the darling of so many dynasty leagues.
Oh man, I'll tell you gonna take over. But if
Dalvin Cook goes into Cincinnati, he puts them over the
top because now you have two running backs that you
can rely on that still have enough tread on the tires.

(23:39):
And maybe it's a fifteen carry a game situation for
Dalvin Cook, but he in your cold weather running back,
he puts them over the top. I love that match
him in Cincinnati.

Speaker 4 (23:48):
They've they've got some decent money available to them. Again,
we we always take those with the grain of salt because,
like we said, we can move stuff around, but they
can absorb it. With Mixon, there was questions of whether
he'd take a pay cut. They re signed Treveon Williams
so he might have a role, and Zach Taylor at
the end of April was talking after the draft that, hey,

(24:11):
Joe Mixon is our guy, because we wondered aloud when
we were doing our draft coverage if he wasn't going
to get traded during said draft, which did not come
to fruition. But you know, you can always add up.
You think we need one more, go full Ocean's eleven
and bring in another big time player. And the pass
catching part of it is the thing that's the most
appealing Mixon. You need a little bit of insurance between

(24:33):
durability and let's face it, the off field questions that
surround him with some regularity.

Speaker 2 (24:41):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Jason Smith
Show with Mike Harmon weekdays at ten pm Eastern, seven
pm Pacific.

Speaker 4 (24:49):
The last place I like this is Jack, No, No, No, No, No.

Speaker 1 (24:54):
Come on we got pre se halt Man. He's fine.
He's running in a straight line. He's running in a
straight line. He's going to be great.

Speaker 4 (24:59):
I like he's running in a straight line.

Speaker 1 (25:01):
Is he running all right? Now? Cut he's running. It
doesn't matter. Hey, Hey, if the line opens a hole,
you just have to run in a straight line. That's now.
You just said the keyword. If the line opens a hole,
that's all you have to do. I have to worry
about him running straight, that's all. That's all I don't
worry about.

Speaker 4 (25:18):
No, you gotta worry if your offensive line is any good.

Speaker 1 (25:21):
But the place I really like to because he would
help put them back in the playoff conversation is with
the Rams because the Rams are struggling for playmakers. Right.
You don't know what you're gonna get from Matthew Stafford.
You have no idea what the wide receiving Corps is
going to have guys coming off of injury. Your running
back situation has been we don't know who's gonna be
up from week to week. Maybe cam Akers is playing,

(25:43):
maybe he's not. Maybe he wants to play, maybe he doesn't.
Maybe Henderson is good, maybe he's not. You go sign
Dalvin Cook and suddenly, all right, now, now we have
a little bit more of an identity. We can trust
our running game a little bit more. You get a
little bit of a bounce back by the defense and suddenly, yeah,
maybe you are you're a fire five hundred team and
you are sniffing around the playoffs. I mean, it's not
going to take him over the top. The red the

(26:04):
era of the Rams is done and they're gonna be,
you know, partly a part of a tear down here.
But there's no reason why you can't rebuild and still
stay competitive. And Cook's not a lot of money, and
they've been moving some money around this offseason. They've cut
a lot of guys, so maybe they have a couple
of moves in them. But Cook to the Rams, I
love that. That that that keeps them a five hundred
is team and gives them an identity. I love that move.

Speaker 4 (26:27):
You really just wanted to start yelling hot route because
Cook catching a lot of football's receiving gord Van Jefferson,
the return of Cooper Cup off injury, and Ben Scournick
out of Northwestern who became a pivol piece of the
offense at times last year Stafford backy ontom me, is

(26:48):
he upright? Or has it become the Stetson Bennett show.
That's really where we're.

Speaker 1 (26:53):
At, putting Stetson Bennett.

Speaker 4 (26:55):
On the field, saying that the potential is there. Right
with Matt Mathew Stafford. There was some concern along with
Sean McVay, that he might not return for the year.
All right, that's been squashed and put aside. But physically,
I mean, that guy's taken a lot of hits. That
guy's played a lot of football. So the question remains of,

(27:19):
you know, does he hold up over a full season.
We had a lot of we watched him last year, like,
even when he was on the field and finishing games, like,
he didn't look right, and we wondered about his elbow,
We wondered about his shoulder, his back, all of those things.
Those concerns don't go away just from a little bit
of off time. It just means you're in better shape.

(27:39):
You're never one hundred again, right. It's like you go
in some video games, never let you get back to
one hundred percent of health because it doesn't make any sense. Right,
at some point, you're still losing. Even if you're finding
the power pellets along the way with Matthew Stafford. I
don't know that the rest is saying, ah ah, he's
much better. No, he's still an older guy, still getting

(28:01):
after it. So I think the spot works because you
do have the unknown. If cam Akers is the player
that they once thought he was, then great. But we
watched that soap opera unfold throughout the year last year
and he played some meaningful football when the Rams weren't.
So maybe they believe in him to a point, but

(28:23):
doesn't mean they wouldn't kick the tires on Dalvin Cook.
And if anybody can shuffle moneies around to make things happen,
we know the Rams can.

Speaker 1 (28:31):
You know? And the real quick just this is the
part of this For the Vikings, who had a good
year last year, they had a lot of breaks go
their way, and you would think that this is a
year where we can take hold of the division. Because
the Packers are starting over with Jordan Love and the
Bears are starting over, they should be improved. They brought
in a lot of talent in the offseason. The Lions,
okay they're the Lions. You get rid of Dalvin Cook. Really,

(28:54):
you can't find a way to restructure with him. You
can't find a way to keep me. You can't find
a way to say, hey, we're keeping our best running back.
It's really it's a weird message to send that. Yeah,
we're trying to win, but oh, by the way, at
this point, now we're moving on from Dalvin Cook. Free
agency is over and the draft is over and all
the time. But now we're moving Like, I get it
in the beginning we're going, but after post June. First,

(29:15):
I get you're saving the money, but it's a weird thing. Now.
It's like, if he's you know, if he's got another
good year, let well why not just figure out a
way to keep him. It's really strange.

Speaker 4 (29:24):
Yeah, I mean looking at that roster, like, on paper,
you should you should be a pretty good team. Now.
I know we talked with Jason Cole earlier in the show, uh,
and we're trying to figure out where they are between
the twenty twenty one team that lost every close game
and the twenty twenty two team that won every close game.
Somewhere in between there we find our new level. But

(29:47):
you add Jordan Addison to a roster that already had
kJ Osborne is a pretty good number three, that justin
Jefferson guy here, he's pretty good. And TJ. Yeah, TJ. Howkinson,
who was fantastic for you when he came up board,
Brandon Powell a good return guy. You bring in Jalen

(30:08):
Rieger thinking maybe you can coke something out of him.
I mean, you got bodies lined up all over play
and you still have a fullback in CJ. Ham, So
good for them, all of those things with Captain Kirk
Cousins who comes back for another year on paper in
the NFC, how many better are there offenses and weaponry assembled?

(30:29):
So to get rid of Dalvin Cook, you either love
Alexander Madison or the dollars and cents. You really just
decided he had to be a casualty of it all.
So he goes to Buffalo teams up with his brother
where they rule the Tag Team Division.
