You're listening to Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 1 (00:28):

dot Com is the way tire buying should be. We
(00:48):
got Jason locking for coming up at about twenty minutes.
NFL Inside are all the latest done? Jamar Chase, you
gonna really play Week one? Trent Williams, you really gonna
play Week one? Who's the trendy Super Bowl picks that
he likes? All that more coming up in twenty minutes.
But over this Labor Day weekend, we had so many
big college football stories we're gonna get to more of
(01:10):
them coming up this hour. But this controversy continues to rage,
and it's just it's fun and it's weird and it's bizarre,
and because it cuts through the clutter and it's new,
this is why we tend to respond to it. The
latest WNBA controversy involving Caitlyn Clark is one that it
(01:35):
doesn't make any sense, and it continues to fester. So
this past weekend, Caitlyn Clark and the Fever, another big game,
another big double double game. They get a big win
over the Dallas Wings. And here they are now over
five hundred, they're a trendy title pick. She's now basically
sewn up Rookie of the Year. And Nancy Lieberman, who
(01:56):
is one of the Dallas Wings analysts, said on the
game yesterday that, hey, she deserves to be in the
MVP conversation. What I want to say is, hey, Nancy,
quit stealing takes from me. Quit stealing my MVP tap
because it should be Asia Wilson or Caitlin Clark. And
that said, quit stealing knows takes from me. But I
was okay with it, uh, but this controversy with it Hey,
(02:21):
I'm okay now that I got to say that, now,
I'm okay, I'm okay. Yeah, I'm still salty about the
magic and Larry that that Caitlyn Clark is magic and
Larry and people have co opted that into be well,
you know, Caitlin Clark is magic and Angel read that. No, no,
Caitlin Clark is both of them. Okay, both of them.
So this controversy was just something that it really it
(02:42):
defies logic if you've been keeping track the last few weeks.
Cheryl Swoops, w NBA legend now member the media again,
one of the Dallas Wings game analysts, has come to
prominence for her lack of exuberance in talking about Caitlyn
Clark giving her credit for the Fever's success. There's been
(03:05):
time she's talked about the fever and not talked about
Caitlyn Clark. We played it on the show last week,
the time when she was doing the Fever game last
week and Ron Thulin, the play by play mansid, here's
your players of the week in the WNBA, and Caitlin
Clark was one of them. And he said Caitlyn Clark
and and and Collier were the two players of the
week and Cheryl Swoop said nothing.
Speaker 3 (03:26):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (03:27):
As I recall it, it wasn't something like wow, what
are your reactions to that? Where there should have been
an obvious like if you really want her to talk
a question? So I kind of gave Swoops a bit
of a pass on that one that while it may
have been the worst of it of I'm just not
gonna comment on it. I wonder how much of that
was you didn't throw to me. So I don't know
if we're going to commercial or there's some other ad
(03:49):
that's getting red or whatever.
Speaker 1 (03:50):
But when it comes to Caitlin Clark, you know, and
and and judging by what's going on the last few days,
you know that Cheryl Swoops really wants to wear this
as a badgeho it certainly of Caitlyn Clark. So there
was that when Ron Thulin said here's your players of
the week. Obviously this is where the analyst says, boy,
Kitlyn Clark blah blah blah blah blah, Collier blah blah
blah blah blah. But no decided to say nothing.
Speaker 4 (04:11):
Collie are currently the second favorite. Yeah, MBT having a
really good year too, really good year.
Speaker 1 (04:17):
But what Caitlin Clark has done in elevating the Fever
who haven't sniffed the playoffs since twenty seventeen. But so
this has become a storyline and ESPN stephen A. Smith
has jumped into this whole thing. There's been a big
back and forth with Cheryl Swoops about it and about
her lack of giving Caitlin Clark credit. Well. In yesterday's game,
(04:38):
Caitlin Clark and Indiana play at Dallas and Cheryl Swoops
is not on the game. Nancy liebermannba WNBA, NBA Pro
Basketball Hall of Famer, the first breaking barriers player. I
remember seeing Nancy Lieberman, seeing her play in the NCAA
tournament in the seventies when it was like women's bat
(05:00):
basketball and I'm seven years old on women's basketball on television.
Nancy Lieberman was the big star. She was the first
of the big stars, and she's carved out a career
as an analyst since then. She does the game yesterday
and it was okay, well, maybe there was something that
the Wings have a couple of analysts, And then a
report came out today that maybe Cheryl Swoops was replaced
(05:21):
by Nancy Lieberman because of her refusal to talk about
Caitlyn Clark, which really doesn't make any sense because this
is like an analyst saying, Hey, you're doing the Lakers
and the Mavericks tomorrow. Yeah, but I'm not gonna talk
about Lebron James. Wait what, I'm not Why I don't
want to? Why don't you want to? I just don't.
But he's a popular player. People enjoy hearing about him.
(05:42):
He is instrumental to the Lakers' success. Yeah, but I
don't want to talk about it. I just don't want to.
So you get why you might get pulled off a game.
If that's the case, be so Cheryl Swoops, who refused
to acknowledge Caitlyn Clark and the only thing she did
was back up Diamond Deshields, who we talked about this
on Friday night when she got called for three fouls
against Kitlyn Clark. One was pretty dirty at the end
(06:04):
at the end of the game when they beat Chicago,
and Caitlin Clark had a huge night backdrop saying, don't
worry about the haters. You keep going It's like, oh,
that was a pretty dirty play on Caitlin Clark, but okay,
and Caitlyn Clark of eighty percent of the flagrant foul
she's gotten this year have all been from Chicago, so
you know, Chicago plays with some kind of edge when
it comes to her. So there's a lot going on,
(06:26):
right with Cheryl Swoops and Caitlyn Clark, Kennedy cater in
that game. No, she didn't play Larry Aet. Seventeen percent
of all the flagrant fowls of the WNBA this year
have been called as fouls on Caitlin Clark, like players
fouling her seventeen percent, Like, that's one players responsible for
all of those. So you know that this has been
a thing, right, you know what's a thing? Cheryl Swoops
Kitlyn Clark? Is she talking?
Speaker 5 (06:46):
Is she not?
Speaker 1 (06:47):
Nancy Lieberman goes on stephen A. Smith's show, Right, so
let's hear her talk about the conversation she had with
Cheryl Swoops because she said, we were friends and we
talked about this. Because now here's Nancy Leebran doing games.
Maybe Cheryl Scoops was supposed to do the game and
got replaced by Nancy Lieberman. Listen to Nancy Leebran talk
(07:07):
about the conversation she had with cheryl' scoops and where
their friendship is. Right now, you know.
Speaker 6 (07:13):
You can say whatever you want, you can have your
own opinion about anybody, but you do have to get
the statistics right. I mean, facts matter. And if you
just get ahead of this and just say, hey, I'm
made a mistake on my numbers, then this thing is
over and everybody respects you for your opinion. And you know,
you might like Boston, I might like the Yankees. You
(07:34):
know it's okay to have difference of opinions. Well, she
got up set with me on the phone and I
was like, Cheryl, you know, I'm not doing anything to
hurt you. I'm just sharing. We're talking, and so our
relationship pretty much is not happening at this point. I
tried to talk to her at the Final four. She
didn't want to talk to me. My life's going to
(07:55):
be good or great with or without Cheryl Swoops in
my life. I'd rather have her in it.
Speaker 1 (08:00):
Wow. Well, definitely you're not talking to someone if you
go public and say hey, this is what happened. And
in a private phone call we disagreed about stuff. So
she's going all the way back to when when Cheryl
Swoops talked about Caitlin Clark breaking the all time record
and saying that all, well, she had five years to
do it. No, she didn't have five years. She played
in four and show oh I didn't know this. So
(08:21):
this is now a thing, right, this is now a
huge thing with Cheryl Swoops, one of the WNBA legends,
and Caitlyn Clark. And you know for a fact, Cheryl
Swoops wants to wear this as a badge of honor.
I don't like Caitlin Clark because Nancy Lieberman is right,
if she wanted to nip this in the bud, if
she will, hell, oh whoa. I'm not anti Caitlin Clark.
(08:42):
I'm not any no, no, I will say this because
she is someone that says her appear right. She even
said about Angel Reese that she wasn't even gonna be
a good player in the w NBA or something to
that effect, that Angel Reese would she'll be a role
player or something like that. So she's no shrinking violent.
Cheryl Swoops likes to get her conversation and get her
points out there, the fact that she's that she knows
what's going on, that she knows that this is a controversy,
(09:04):
and she won't tamp it down or she won't say, hey, listen,
you know she wants this out there. She wants this
irrational dislike of Caitlin Clark to be a story. And
I don't know why because unless she says, hey, this
is what's happened behind the scenes, you don't have a
leg to stand on on this. Like, Caitlin Clark is
a popular whether you like her or not. She is
(09:25):
a popular player in your sport that people like hearing about. Right,
whether you like Angel Reese or not, she is a
popular player in a sport that people like hearing about,
like talking about WNBA has made a huge leap this year.
But no, no, I don't want to give her credit
for whatever reason, right, And you can get into whether
it's jealousy, whether it's race. Now everything is back on
(09:47):
the table because this has become a story. Here's yet
another person that is anti Caitlin Clark for reasons that
nobody gets because Caitlin Clark is not doing anything that's
fostering the hatred. Hey, the dislike on the court. Stuff
that happens on the court, I understand on the court
is on the court, right, you're trying to win a game.
You're trying to do X, Y and Z. I get it.
(10:07):
She's not saying things about people. She's not taking on
Cheryl Swoops, who's one of her idols. She's not doing
anything wrong other than I'm playing and I'm trying to win,
and I know that I'm bringing people to the sport.
She's very self aware of who she is. I don't
even have that big of a problem with her getting
physical on Friday against Dallas because when you're against against Chicago,
(10:29):
because when you're winning a game by twenty on the
road and you are visibly laughing on the court with
a couple minutes left to go with your teammates given
high fives, you're up twenty five, and you're throwing behind
the back passes. When you're up twenty five, guess what,
You're gonna get physical. It's gonna happen. Sure. So I
don't really have a problem with that because that's on
the court. I get it. But off the court is
(10:51):
people want to hear about this, like I can can
you imagine doing a Chiefs game and the Adams refusing
to talk about Patrick Mahomes. I don't talk about mahmes,
So I want to talk about Travis Kelsey. Yeah, but
my home's not. I don't why I just don't. I
just don't. There's no reason you can give anything that
makes any sense why you wouldn't talk about Kaitlyn Clark.
And all Cheryl Swoops is doing is she is hastening
(11:13):
the end of her career because the WNBA is gonna
go if you can't talk about one of our stars,
we don't have room for you. And now she's gonna
be ostracized and she'll be someone who comments about best.
But the people gonna take her seriously because no one
could take you seriously if you don't want to talk
about a big star, no one can.
Speaker 4 (11:28):
Yeah, the curiosity to it, right, She put out earlier
today text exchange she had with Kaitlyn Clark, which is
dubious to some level. Right, those are your communications? Why
are you witning this? But you wanted to show receipts
of Hey, we go back and forth and we discuss
things whatever. Now making the rounds is a Lieberman quote
from the aforementioned Kennedy Carter thing from back in the day,
(11:53):
the physical altercation, flagrant and everything else where she went
out a podcast and said I would have punched her
in the face if I was.
Speaker 1 (12:02):
Yeah, what about that, you know? And the brute honesty there.
Speaker 4 (12:06):
And then Lieberman in that same podcast interview had said
she was disappointed that the Fever teammates didn't back Caitlin Clark.
Speaker 1 (12:15):
Up, which is something we've talked about.
Speaker 4 (12:17):
But she to her to the point we're making before
is she doesn't shy away from it, like she gets
into the greatest showwoman kind of thing and revs up
the crowd and goes but walks by the bench while
doing so, Like every once in a while there's the
all right, you know you're gonna get hit, like you're
inviting this in some some degree doesn't excuse it, but
(12:40):
I understand why if you're an opponent, you know, you
might take the salty part of it. For Cheryl Swoops
made such a decorated career, such a legend, and all
of that to where it gets down to petty beef.
And now you know Nancy Lieberman going into these giant
discussions of all our friendships and everything.
Speaker 1 (13:00):
Right, this is so streen and you know what, it
goes back, But it goes back to what we talked
about and I keep saying it because it goes back
to the very beginning of the year. I said, my
biggest concern for the WNBA is you're about to become
incredibly successful. Handle success. Show that you can handle success.
And it's been rocky. This shouldn't be rocky. This should
be a magic carpet ride. Caitlin Clark is in. We're
(13:22):
flying charter.
Speaker 3 (13:23):
Now.
Speaker 1 (13:23):
Everything is great. Look at the television deal we're getting.
Look at the arenas. We're selling out, We're moving games.
She's playing in to bigger arenas. This is like when
Babe Ruth would barnstorm at the Yankees in the twenties
in the offseason. Hey we're going to Iowa. We're gonna
play in the cornfield. One hundred thousand people are gonna
come watch, like this is what the w And still
we're talking about knuckleheaded stuff like adalysts who refused to
(13:45):
talk about players and for some reason just don't like
her because she's her and she's not someone who played
twenty years ago, and she's not someone who helped who
grew the game from the beginning. This is show you
understand sports. Handle success.
Speaker 4 (13:59):
The most mature person in all of this. Who said
everything right coming out of the game against the Wings
was Sabali. She said, I hate that it's all Caitlin
Clark fans. I hate what I'm hearing in the stands.
But damn, isn't it great that we're filling up arenas.
Isn't this the best that we could possibly hope for?
Speaker 1 (14:17):
She's disappointed that more Dallas fans didn't come, but this
is what we're hoping. We get more.
Speaker 4 (14:23):
On our side and this exposure. Like she had the
right thing, because you can tell visibly she may have
wanted to go off a little bit more on her fans.
Speaker 1 (14:32):
Twenty two. The people are gonna buy from the other team.
Speaker 4 (14:35):
Yeah, but that's the thing, right, You've got the the
circuses come into town and you sell out an arena
and you recognize how cool it could be. You all
start winning, and the league as a whole gets propped
up because think about it, reinforcements are coming, right. Anybody
that wants to downplay it as a one year wonder,
it'll You've got Paige Becker's who's getting so much love
(14:56):
for showing up at the US Open whatever else.
Speaker 1 (14:59):
Hey, she's back.
Speaker 4 (15:00):
And then you've got Juju Watkins, Who's gonna be a
big deal to watch here in southern California. So you've
got more big names on the way. And the women's
game as healthy as can be for the most part.
Speaker 1 (15:12):
Just handle success, just be able to handle success. We're
talking about knuckleheaded stuff that is just hand two games.
But this is also two games, two of the game's greats.
Speaker 4 (15:22):
It's one thing that it's a bunch of the early
twenties running around. You don't know what you don't know yet? Yeah, right,
we say that all the time. Right, you don't know
because you haven't lived, you haven't worked long enough, you
haven't done this. And let me tell you something. Here's
two of the game's all time greats going back and
forth on that. Like waitmen, ladies, come on.
Speaker 1 (15:44):

not for week one for the Bengals. Bengals doing a
little bit of an about face and y'all ye were
definitely gonna have him now, maybe not. Russell Wilson's a
cap Maybee the nine as we'll have Trent Williams from
(18:03):
Monday night. So much big NFL conversation to get to
joining us now on the hot line, longtime front of
the show. Check him out on Odyssey one oh five
seven The Fan in Baltimore, Washington, post. He's on Twitter
at Jason lock and for it is Syracuse grad Jason
Lock and for who is right now working on fifteen
thousand words for tomorrow on Kyle McCord's debut at quarterback
(18:26):
for Syracuse. Jay, Welcome in, man, your.
Speaker 3 (18:29):
Witch is my command. Let me squeeze that in. I'll
get on that. I'll get on that tonight.
Speaker 5 (18:34):
All right.
Speaker 1 (18:35):
So if you can do that, then tell me this
is Jamar Chase gonna play. All we saw tonight was hey,
maybe not now the big backpedal by the Bengals. Oh
maybe he's not gonna play Week one.
Speaker 3 (18:45):
Well, I don't know, but I can tell you this.
Speaker 5 (18:48):
We were at my niece's wedding in upstate, New York
last night and we were driving back to the Airbnb
and my middle child was doing a.
Speaker 3 (18:57):
Fantasy football draft and I had a sick pick and.
Speaker 5 (19:01):
I'm like, because I was a little worried because we're
going to be in the car and it's bad sell
and I'm like, who do they have you getting on
the auto draft?
Speaker 3 (19:08):
And they're like Jamar Chase and I'm like, oh, I
hope to make this pick. I just don't know that
we need to take him that high and.
Speaker 5 (19:18):
There's a little bit of variant here, and we were
in the dead zone for.
Speaker 3 (19:22):
Like eight miles and he got stuck with Jamar Chase.
Speaker 1 (19:24):
Oh no, you don't pull over the car. You should
have pulled over until he made a pick.
Speaker 3 (19:29):
There's no, no, no.
Speaker 5 (19:30):
We're in the middle of nowhere, like we're in a
one like we're in a series of one stop light towns.
Speaker 3 (19:34):
Like yeah, it's not like you just you know, hit
the seven to eleven.
Speaker 5 (19:39):
And log in real quick, like there you're knocking on
a farmer's door, like how's your WiFi?
Speaker 3 (19:44):
So, yes, yes, this is so.
Speaker 5 (19:50):
Am I convinced he's playing in this game. I'm not.
I would have thought that Mike Brown would have sort
of come to his senses on this one and just
realize he's got to pay what he's got to pay
in the same way that you know he did with
with Joe Burrow. And maybe he gets there in the
next forty eight hours. And it's not like Jamar Chase
has been you know, on a beach somewhere for eight weeks, so.
Speaker 3 (20:14):
I wouldn't rule it out. But I think we're also
getting a little bit late in the game. And look,
it is the New England Patriots. This is a team
that's got its eyes on February and not you know, September.
This is a team.
Speaker 5 (20:29):
That, like, let's face it has has looked bad in
a lot of Septembers.
Speaker 3 (20:34):
Before, right and still gotten to the promised land or
close to it.
Speaker 8 (20:39):
So I'm not sure, guys, I'm.
Speaker 5 (20:42):
I'm not convinced it does get done, to be honest
with you, in time for this football game.
Speaker 4 (20:46):
Now we got the it is the Patriots, so hang
a star with that. But also I feel I feel
bad for Zach Taylor to a degree, keep going back
in front of a microphone within complete information and trying
to make the best.
Speaker 3 (20:58):
Of it stuff.
Speaker 5 (21:00):
And this is all on the owner, Like this is
going to be you know, Mike Brown wants to pay
the thirty six million or whatever it turns out to
be and makes you know, this player sort of whole
or I do think she'll be pretty stuck in and
set out. I mean again, we're talking about a pro
rated one million dollars here, you know, for the most part,
(21:21):
and he's going.
Speaker 3 (21:22):
To get that back eventually. It does get a.
Speaker 5 (21:25):
Little phonier when he gets into the season. It's a
little different than missing preseason games. But still I don't
think there's anybody in that organization who thinks they're winning
a super Bowl this year without Jamar Chase being a
major contributor to it.
Speaker 1 (21:39):
Jason Locking for our guest the Jason Smithzer with Mike
Carmon Love from Thetireck dot Com studios. All right now,
probably the last bit of drama before you actually see
him take a snap. Russell Wilson is voted a Steelers captain.
Can you still be a captain if you're the backup?
I want to know, like the week four, Week five,
is that still going to be the case?
Speaker 3 (21:58):
Yeah? I don't think do we ever remember, you know
what I mean? Like who actually was the captain of
a team in any like any giving you Like it's
a story about certain guys like Callum.
Speaker 9 (22:07):
Williams, you know gets it and it's like, oh, okay,
that's people. But like, I don't know that this ever
really registers or you know, it matters. I think we
know who the leaders of these teams are by the
for the most part, and they certainly themselves right inside
the locker room that there's no secrets.
Speaker 5 (22:26):
No do I think that it's it's week six, Week four,
Week five, and this looks like a pathetic pedestrian little
you know, three yards and a cloud of dust passing
game and they're scoring seventeen points a game. Do I
think that's going to prevent justin Fields from getting, you know,
becoming more and more and more a part of this
and eventually taking over.
Speaker 3 (22:48):
No, I don't.
Speaker 5 (22:49):
People I talk to around the league are pretty convinced
that it won't. No, They're going to go this route
now because it's a little safer and Russ has the profile,
Russ has the resume, and look, Russ did was a
twenty six touchdowns to eight picks last year. Russ, he'll
be He'll protect the football to a fault. But it
(23:11):
stands the reason that they're going to reach a point
pretty soon here where they're going to want somebody with
a little more of a ceiling and somebody who can
electrify their run game a little more and just make
them more difficult to defend.
Speaker 4 (23:22):
It would be cool, though, if they had a ceremony
to depose him and take the sea off his chest and.
Speaker 3 (23:27):
Yeah, like he gets fully rock.
Speaker 1 (23:30):
Yeah, he lines up with the entire team, Tomin just
yets it off his chest, walks down and hands a
roof of a.
Speaker 3 (23:37):
From Anti Brothers or something.
Speaker 4 (23:38):
Yeah, there you gone. I knew wrinkle hard knocks next year. Now,
going back, we talked mentioned the Patriots in passing. Let's
go to another contract situation that's hanging out there, and
that's Trent Williams.
Speaker 1 (23:51):
Is the forty nineers get ready to face the Jets.
Speaker 4 (23:54):
How many times does brock Purdy have to get hit
before a cell phone docusigned in fat machine, whatever happens
for Trent Williams.
Speaker 10 (24:04):
Look, I can't fathom there's any body on the planet
who knows inherently how important Trent Williams is a that
offense anymore than like Kyl Shanahan himself. Like I just
don't know that, like anyone could have a better understanding
(24:24):
of Like there, you know their EPA with this left
tackle and without this left tackle.
Speaker 8 (24:31):
I just don't think that, Like it's untenable. And I mean,
could they do this for a week or two? I
mean maybe, but it's not a great offensive line with him.
He is a singular force force of nature, past protection,
run blocking, everything, Like it's just.
Speaker 5 (24:55):
I think it crumbles, and I think it crumbles pretty quickly,
and I think.
Speaker 3 (24:58):
Kyle Shanahan knows that.
Speaker 5 (25:00):
And and this is one where I think, if it really
was up to Kyl Shanahan, like Trent Williams would get
every penny he possibly could get and then everything else
will fall in line.
Speaker 3 (25:09):
But you know, this is an ownership thing. This is
a ProGMA OT thing. But man, I don't think this
one could.
Speaker 5 (25:18):
Go very far.
Speaker 3 (25:18):
Guys.
Speaker 5 (25:19):
I just don't think they're going to try to play
more than a game or two tops without Trent Williams.
And maybe maybe it's it's more like one.
Speaker 1 (25:30):
All right, Jay, last last time we get to talk
to you before the season begins on Thursday. Who you're
thinking for the Super Bowl right now? The Jets and who?
Speaker 3 (25:44):
Yeah, yeah, yeah. I haven't actually like me to pick
a document and a pick anywhere, but I do find
myself leaning into Kansas City continuing to make history here,
and I just can't bet against them. I can't pick
against them. I do think they're the cream of the crop.
Speaker 5 (26:03):
And I think he don't have to go on too
far of a limb to see them having even a
better regular season than a year ago. And getting that
one seed back, and you know, somebody going to Arrowhead
and doing what only one team's done to this point,
the Bengals. Like, I just don't know how tenable that
is in the NFC.
Speaker 8 (26:24):
The Rams, you know, like I kind of have.
Speaker 3 (26:26):
A little bit of a vibe about the Rams. It
would not shock me if the Rams or the Packers went.
I kind of think the Packers is my chalkier pick.
But I could see the Rams getting there.
Speaker 1 (26:38):
I'm with you, man, I love the Rams. I love
the Rams this year a lot because I'm confident that McVeigh. Look,
it's a different defense and no Aaron Donald, sure, but
what has Sean mcveiin not made the right moves? I
mean what.
Speaker 3 (26:51):
Ago?
Speaker 1 (26:51):
Boy, Hey, that was awful. Now you always seem to
make the right moves. It's a phenomenally run organization.
Speaker 3 (26:57):
Yeah. No, I think they're going to win that division.
I really do.
Speaker 5 (27:02):
And I think it's I could see him, you know
mcveigel floor, you know, NFC Championship game.
Speaker 1 (27:07):
He's on Twitter at Jason locking forward, that is at
Jason lock and for again. Now it's up to thirty
thousand words on the debut of Kyle McCord for Syracuse.
Jay is always buddy. Appreciate him. Man, we'll talk for
fun week, Maybe another few minutes. We up to forty
thousand words fifty that's a lot of work.
Speaker 4 (27:24):
Just keep adding on. How many times can he say? Wow,
what a quarterback? Syracuse quarterback? Hey, you know what, look,
finally got one.
Speaker 1 (27:34):
Just keep yelling why not us? He's going to be
the best quarterback we've had in thirty years. He's played
one game.
Speaker 4 (27:39):
Here's a picture of everybody holding up signs of Donovan McNabb.
Speaker 1 (27:43):
Yeah, fast forward. Hey, Kyle McCord, here we go. Thank
you Ryan Day, Thank you for Kyle McCord, and thank
you for Steve de Seger. Hey, wellso was kicked out
of Ohio State by Ryan Day. Really landed with us
here at Fox Sports Radio. The loft to Michigan last
year was apparently all your fault. Well, I just should
have done more scouting on their behalf.
Speaker 4 (28:03):
Secretly should have been hiding in the bushes making notes. Steve,
we have this stat to pass along as Florida State
lost again tonight. You know, ranked teams so far this
young college football season, what's the record against unranked teams? Well,
Florida State, oh and two now everyone else in the
country undefeated against unranked teams. The ranked included Florida State
(28:25):
with kind of an asterisk because they were preseason number
ten and the new rankings don't come out till tomorrow.

to Boston College. In fact, trailed BC early third quarter

and fall behind. A reminder This Saturday on Fox TV
Texas at Michigan noon Eastern time. Friday night on FS one,

you watched this, this was actually would be a great
place to see a game. Turning that practice field into the.
Speaker 1 (29:22):
Yeah season ticket older. He absolutely loved.
Speaker 11 (29:25):
Twelve thousand people packed into that place right by Lake Michigan.
Not in a lot of seats on the sidelines, because
you'd have.
Speaker 1 (29:31):
To put the stands in Lake Michigan.
Speaker 4 (29:34):
But they had build it up way too high for
it to say to be the blimpers a gorgeous, gorgeous
shot though.
Speaker 11 (29:39):
So that'll be on FS one Duke at Northwestern on
Friday night. Bengals wide receiver Jamar Chase miss practice again
wanting a new contract. Dolphins wide receivers Tyreek Hill and
Jalen Waddle each practice fully. The Cowboys say Cooper Rush
is their number two quarterback behind Dak Prescott, Trey Lance's
third string. Seattle signed quarterback Jalen Hall to its pre

practice yesterday after a bad hamstring. Green Bay opens that
season this Friday in Brazil against Philadelphia. The first Fox
TV game with Tom Brady in the booth is Sunday
Dallas at Cleveland. The forty nine Ers signed tackle Brandon Parker,
with Trent Williams still away from the team. The La
(30:20):

reportedly as an analyst, and Yes Disney removed all of
its channels from DirecTV last night in a carriage dispute.

Back to you, Thank you, Steve. Wait to finish with
a flourish right there. The Jason Smith Show with Mike
Carmon Love from the Tireck dot Com Studios.
Speaker 11 (31:58):
Are you are you noting that I didn't finish with
the White Sox this time?
Speaker 9 (32:02):
Now?
Speaker 1 (32:02):
What are you gonna say? The White Sox lost?
Speaker 11 (32:04):
Well, it's pretty good in the news department the White
Sox season.
Speaker 1 (32:07):
Quite frankly, they have to go over five hundred the
rest of the season to not be the worst team
in baseball history over right. No publicity is bad publicity.
That's true, that's true. They're talking about him. At some point,
the Cubs are going to go, you know, we're winning
the last month. Why is no one paying attention to
But you know what was great.
Speaker 4 (32:28):
For the Cubs is that between everybody you know, clamoring
to talk about Caleb Williams and the White Sox road
of futility. The Cubs had that era where they were
going down into misery and nobody talked about it, and
then they righted the ship. Petekarl Armstrong is a star.
Speaker 1 (32:47):
You watch. Yeah, you know where you got them from us?
Speaker 3 (32:52):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (32:53):
Yeah, yeah. We'll give you a Hobby Baiaz for a
month and a half and you give us your number
one rank prospect.
Speaker 2 (33:00):
We'll do it.
Speaker 1 (33:01):
That's Met's baseball Sterns. You wouldn't have done that. The
Jason Smith Show with Mike Carmon Live from the tire
Rack dot Com Studios coming up next Yes, generals were
gathering with the masses. We'll also get back into the
biggest story of the night from football. Keep it right here,
Jason and Mike, this is Fox Sports Radio. We love
you all, just like Florida State lost Tune nine and
(33:27):
they lost the week before they were in Europe, not
no more. Be sure to catch live editions of The
Jason Smith Show with Mike Harmon weekdays at ten pm Eastern,
seven pm Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio
app Fox Sports Radio. The Jason Smith Show with My
(33:50):
best friend Mike Harmon Live Fromthetirack dot Com studios. Well,
I remember two weeks ago when Florida State was a
top five team. Yeah, trending upwards. Everybody still feeling like
they'd been slighted and here was their opportunity to atone.
Now it's it's time for us to We need to
(34:11):
check in and make sure that a very important person
is okay. You know, we're about positivity on the show,
taking care of Oh absolutely, We're a.
Speaker 4 (34:19):
Family, we're a community, a global community.
Speaker 1 (34:22):
Let's use the large arm of this show to check
in on one person and make sure that's okay. Because Okay,
if we could save one person from doing what they
promised to do, If we could save one person, then
it's worth it. There are some medical treatments that would
have you do We need to figure out and find
(34:44):
where at three two one Knowle is n o l
E not n ol So it's not Chuck Nolen ol E.
That was a winning program. This is high went all
the time. And I hated Terry Bradshaw Uh, a Florida
State fan who went viral tonight because this tweet started
making the rounds basically when Boston College was beating Florida
(35:06):
State by two touchdowns. Dj uyana lelay is not the answer. Okay,
that's the question. I'll take quarterback that should not have
succeeded Jordan Travis for five hundred Uh. He puts out
this tweet and this is just a Florida State fan.
The picture of him on his social media account as
(35:27):
him Florida State had Florida State t shirt. I was
smoking a cigar, very excited after being thirteen and zher
and being left out of the plasta. I'm sure quote
if Florida State loses to BC this weekend, I will
eat dog blank out of a red solo cup with
a spoon and post a video of me doing it.
(35:48):
Book it.
Speaker 4 (35:50):
Well, I mean it's an old take on the gag
me with a spoon.
Speaker 1 (35:54):
Uh, that would definitely gag me with you, that would
definitely do it. Yeah. Now, every time I take Benny
out for a walk through to the week, I'm gonna
think about this guy. Here's what we're gonna do.
Speaker 4 (36:03):
We're gonna find you a Florida State can and I'm
gonna get you a red Solo cup that you will
have fixed to the end of the leash.
Speaker 3 (36:12):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (36:13):
The reason I say I hope this guy is okay
is because very shortly after Florida State fell down two touchdowns,
his social media profile disappeared. Yea activated. I'm sorry, I'm
calling it in. No, we're done. I can't find me now.
Speaker 4 (36:28):
I'm kidding. We'll forget about this when I reactivate the account,
right and canceling the Avengers initiative.
Speaker 1 (36:33):
It happens now. We're getting rid of it now, so
you can't find it. But hey, he was hacked. Uh.
Book it, Yeah, book it, book it, Mary Mack. See
he he put this out there, Yeah, and then probably
was really concerned that people might make me actually do this.
Speaker 4 (36:50):
Well, I think if your friends and family, we got
to help keep men and women to their word.
Speaker 1 (36:55):
Yeah, this is why the Internet is undefeated. The Internet
and fall time are undefeated. This is gonna live forever.
Whatever this guy does the rest of his life. This
guy could go and he could cure diseases, he could
single handedly save the economy, he could save teachers, he
could do whatever across the world, and people would just
put this tweet out there about I'll eat dog blank
(37:18):
out of a red solo cup with a spoon and
post a video of me doing it. If Florida State
loses the BC, which book it now go?
Speaker 4 (37:26):
Which team on the schedule going forward puts this guy's
image up on one of their signal cards.
Speaker 1 (37:34):
Oh, I think every team is going to do this
is going to find some way if be creative way,
of course, and Florida State has a week off before
they get back to their season. The rest of it say, Okay,
what do we need? We need a video? Have a
guy in an FSU hat walking a dog? Can we
(37:55):
actually can? Can you build the pixels so it looks
like he's scooping up dog blank and putting it in
a red solo cup. I don't know that we could
show him actually eating it, because that might be but
could we show him putting in a red solo cup
and showing it to the fans, and then as soon
as he picks it up, we cut away from it.
Can we put that on a scoreboard coming up against
Florida State? You got it?
Speaker 4 (38:15):
And then you play some sort of anthem that the
crowd gets along to. Well, you play Red Solo Cup
well by Toby Keith. I means right, I mean Joby's
Keith taking over. I mean they played every every time
Angry American there before the fourth quarter in Oklahoma.
Speaker 1 (38:30):
Every time you hear Red Solo Cup when Florida stake play. Oh,
they're gonna show that video of the guy walking on
the dog. He's gonna scoop up to you know what,
he's gonna put in a Red Solo Cup. All let's
see it.
Speaker 4 (38:40):
That would be much more than jump around after a minute,
wouldn't it.
Speaker 1 (38:45):
Well, we've seen jump around. We've seen mister Bright's eye. Oh,
we've seen that. This is something new. And I want
it to be pixelated like it's tecmo bil Like I.
Speaker 4 (38:53):
Don't want it to be really the whole just the dog, no, no, no.
Speaker 1 (38:57):
Just everything, because I don't want to be really advanced.
Speaker 4 (38:59):
Because it looks like the Money for Nothing music video exactly.
Speaker 1 (39:02):
Yeah, it kind of kind of like, what, hey, what
does super Mario look like in nineteen eighty Is that
I had a hard head on anisonar Yeah, yeah, exactly,
yeah yeah, pixelate it make it looking that way. Oh,
it's kind of fun. And then I think you get
past the well, how far can we show him tipping
the solo cup to him to his mouth? How can
we show how far up can we get? Not far?
It's a rough night for that cat. You cut out
(39:23):
of it? Oh incredible, are you kidding?
Speaker 4 (39:25):
Especially watching in Boston College run all over two fifty
three rushing yards.
Speaker 1 (39:31):
I would never get on the internet again. If I
was this guy, I would say the Internet is dead.
This is the way to go cold jerky. You need
to break a bad habit.
Speaker 4 (39:38):
Oh yeah, you know, like talking blank out your blank
uh huh oh no, putting it up on uh you know,
the interwebs.
Speaker 1 (39:45):
This is completely where he would do. Like in a
few years he could. He can make appearances going how
how I kicked the Internet? And like he says, oh,
it's a point presentation. Hey, kids, you're addicted to your phone.
You spend too much time on it. Here's how I
kicked the internet. Say something thing stupid, make sure it's captured,
and then run for your life. Oh aren't you have
(40:06):
to keep running and understand Internet is forever. They're gonna
find you. They're looking for this guy. I bet you.
There's people in the street and now red Solo cups going,
where are you, run Solo cap Florida State fan, where
are you?
Speaker 4 (40:20):
There's a bounty out on him. Now warriors come out
and plan this tweet.
Speaker 1 (40:26):
Like five years ago he would have been on Ellen
Uh oh woo oh yeah, I'm I'm gonna let I'm
gonna let that Ellen one slide. I'm gonna let that slide.
All these things are going through my head. I'm gonna
(40:47):
leave that alone. Coming up next to my buddy Ben Mallor.
This is Fox Matsio
