Speaker 1 (00:01):
Greetings, Welcome inside final hour tonight the Jason Smith Show
with my bass friend Mike Harmon. Every goal starts with
an assist on and off the field. That's why Haley
On and US Soccer are launching for the Assist, a
celebration of everyday acts of support that help people achieve

(00:22):
their goals with iconic brands like censitin Tom's Advalencentrum. To
learn more, go to haley onassist dot com. That's h
A l e O N. Hailey on assist dot com.
So we got lots of NFL to get to. Over
the course of the next hour. Here on the show,
we'll preview all the big games in the NFL this week.

(00:43):
But today brought another incredible chapter in the Sharon Moore story.
Today there's video of him as he was appeared in
court remotely wearing the prison jumper, charged with a felony
and a couple of misdemeanors UH stemming from an assault
that was first reported to the public yesterday. Now to

(01:06):
give you the timeline of Charon more and what happened,
each day, we're getting a little bit more of what happened,
a little bit more, a little bit more and now
we kind of have a bit of a complete picture
of what went on, which is which is good, right,
you go from we got a little bit of the
information on on Tuesday, which was he was fired inappropriate
relationship with a with a staff member, and then it

(01:29):
was hey was being held in police custody after an assault.
A couple of days have gone by, and now we
have the full version, and to tell the full version
because it gets to one big deal, uh, to get
to out of this. So basically what we've seen putting
things together over the course of the last few days
is that and this is going all things that have
been reported, not things that have been alleged. These are

(01:51):
all things that have been reported over the course of the day,
different verified news outlets that have that have come forth
with this. The charon More relationship with the female staffer
was the worst kept secret in the program for the
last couple of years. People knew that they were having
an affair. Shrun Moore, who was married with three children,
the affair was going on, and sometime in the last

(02:14):
month he was told by the school or he was warned,
it's not said exactly by who. You think, someone involved
with the school that he needed to distance himself from
this person. Probably the heat was getting too much on it.
People were going to find out about it. You had
to distance yourself from this person. He decided to fire her,

(02:35):
and that's when she said, oh, if you fire me now,
I'm going to the school and she told him about
the relationship. This is when the school found out all
the details and fired him. After getting fired, when he
went to her house with a knife, threatened to kill
her watch her kill himself. He subsequently dropped the knife,

(02:56):
ran out. He was founded a church and now he
is in police custody. He has been charged with a
felony and a couple of misdemeanors stemming from this assault.
The question for Michigan is who knew what when? How
far back to people know right now? The story is
they were somewhat aware of this storyline the last couple
of weeks, but didn't have enough to act, And they

(03:17):
knew enough to act when she came forward after Sharon
Moore came to after she went to the school and said, hey,
I've been in a relationship with Sharon Moore. He was fired.
Then she called nine one one. When Sharon Moore went
to her house with the knife. So this is kind
of the timeline of events. And each day there's something
different that that I focus on that I just go,

(03:39):
I can't believe that. Now if you think about this,
You're the head coach of Michigan, okay. And I used
to always say that, you know, all the TV I watch,
you know my wife, I would say, there is nobody
that had more on his plate in a TV show
that I've ever seen in my life than JACKX Teller
in Sons of Anarchy. Nobody had he had. There's so

(04:00):
many things going on all the time, like how does
Jax keep this straight right? And this is a fictional
television show. He's got so much going on. Here's Sharon Moore,
who is the head coach of Michigan. He's got his family,
He's carrying on an affair. He's got a lot of
stuff going on, man. Because you know, in the order
of things, Michigan football comes number one, and then it's

(04:21):
family and then an a family. You got all of
this going on, and I focused today that I can't
believe his decision. This is reported by a bunch of
different Out's New York Post other places had it that
when he decided to fire her, could have reassigned her
someplace else. This is when she went to the school.
All right. Now, when we first found out she went

(04:41):
to the school and talked about their relationship, my thought was,
oh boy, what are we gonna find out? What was
this was? What kind of situations? Why would she go
to the school and talk about their relationship. Well, now
you're getting exactly why, because he fired her. In what
world did he think firing her was going to end this? Like?
That's what I can't believe. My this guy who's been
carrying on these triple lives for the course of the

(05:04):
past couple of years now, since he got elevated to
be Michigan head coach, how did he think firing her
was gonna end it? Like you think she's just gonna say, oh,
I'm fired, Okay, great, She's someone that her salary was
increased from fifty thousand a year to ninety thousand a
year in the last year and no reason was given,
no promotion, no increase in job responsibilities, just was given

(05:25):
extra money. You think her getting fired and she's not
gonna say, oh, screw me, screw you man, you're gonna
do that to me. Way do you see what I
do to you? And she goes to the school and
this is why Sharon Moore is where he's at. I
can't believe that that was something that was agreed upon,
either by Charon Moore or the school or anybody else,

(05:45):
because you have to understand and go, okay, wait a minute,
wait a minute. If you screw somebody over, you understand
they're gonna they're gonna try to screw you back, right.
You gotta get that. You gotta get that. She's not
just gonna go away unless there's some sort of agreement
or who knows what it would be. But I mean,
I don't know how that was brought up as as
an idea that's going to do it. Because if you
don't do that, if you simply reassign her, if you're

(06:08):
not dating any more, whatever it is, reassign her other things. Okay,
that's fine, man, you can keep you can keep everything going. Man,
you can keep it going. But you fire and you
think that's gonna be the end of it. That that's
so unbelievably naive, especially for someone who's been pulling off
these triple lives for the course of the past couple
of years. How do you think that was gonna be
a good idea? That was just stupid? Yeah, and the

(06:29):
full decision tree.

Speaker 2 (06:31):
Uh, I don't know that you get to that branch
as as you go down you talk about weaving, weaving
that out of Sons of Anarchy, go to the Sopranos,
go all the way down every drama that you've watched
through the years. You know, you're complicated anti hero hell
Brian Cranston running around and breaking bad.

Speaker 1 (06:51):
There's a lot of things going on. It's a lot
of things you're juggling.

Speaker 2 (06:54):
But it's just that that idea of all right, that's
gonna be the end of it, because you go to
fire her. He's got full authority to fire someone in
the offices, like he's not someone on the staff, like
I know if it's a coach. But you still got
to get a sign off through the administration and everything else.
So that part of the equation is still a bit

(07:16):
complicated as you get down to it. But yeah, thinking
that it was going to go quietly into the good
night just as a all right, we're done, especially if
when you take into consideration all the rest of this
right now, you've got stalking allegations. However long that's been
going on, and we're still trying to wrap our arms
around some of those details. I mean, I'm glad we're

(07:38):
getting more specificity because Wednesday you and I were sitting
in the studio and we're just reading off random things
from the internet.

Speaker 1 (07:45):
It's like, Wow, this one says this. It's not a
blue check mark, it's not any real reputable source, but
people claiming to be inside here. Then you had some
talking heads like yeah, I heard this from multiple people
months ago. It's like, hmm, okay, curious that you know
in a day and age, you know source, double source,

(08:05):
triple source, that you as a news entity didn't come
forward with it. But you know that that's a curiosity.
But all of that to say that this becomes your
end of all, right, that's going to clean it up? Right?
What's the old line?

Speaker 2 (08:20):
Don't insert line here where you eat, where you work,
or where you eat depending on your terms. This is
a case where it's it's spirals and now we wait
for the extra details of timelines. But multiple charges today.
There was a lot of discussion over the last twenty

(08:40):
four hours whether there would be formal charges, but held
some of that being also a health check as part
of it. You know, as we talk with Pete Futech
last hour, Jason, you know you feel for the human
side of it, for the you know, his wife, his kids,
you know, the family and everything else. And you know,

(09:01):
as much as we talk about mental health and checks
on yourself, you hope he's in a right state of
mind and just made a bad decision, uh and not.
You know that there's there's other stuff. But when it
ends with knives at throats and my blood's gonna be
on your hands or whatever else, it's a very scary
scenario and a and a spiraling thing, and you know,

(09:24):
cautionary tales certainly. But to get to the idea that
thinking that it was going to be a firing and
that was going to be the end game, Yeah, No,
that that part of it as all right, that's the
third act of this doesn't make any sense.

Speaker 1 (09:38):
Yeah. I mean, if the timeline is that they broke
or she ended the relationship with him, he decided to
fire her. I mean, you realize you're playing with your
entire life, your entire career, You're playing I mean, you're
the head coach at the University of Michigan and and
now like are you ever going to even work again?
Like I mean, this is you know, look, the whole,

(10:01):
the whole conversation that's been had all over social media
the last few the last couple of days and few
hours about the racial aspect of it that black head
coaches don't get second chances like white head coaches do,
and and and over the course of of life. You know,
I think that's a legitimate conversation to have. I do.
I think it's legitimate. But I think what you're already
talking about second chances for a guy who's wearing a

(10:22):
prison jumpsuit right now. Okay, I don't think anybody is
rushing to hire him before the nil window opens again. Okay,
let's understand that this is a guy that's in police
custody right now, Okay, that you.

Speaker 2 (10:33):
Have to figure out how this ends right right now,
it's just charges and you know he's fire with cause.

Speaker 1 (10:40):
Yeah, he's dealing with a felony and two misdemeanors. And
again he's in a prison jumpsuit right now. Let's let's
let's worry about the the you know, the next step
with coaches and his because you look at right now.
It's like, I don't I really don't know. I mean,
there's there's coaches that have been fired in disgrace that
have found their way back, right it certainly that that's

(11:01):
the case. But man, you talk about trying to find
your way back from a potential assault and and felony
and and and and two misdemeanor charges, and it's and
and and the charges just sound the way they are.
Stalking in the domestic relationship, breaking and entering third degree
home invasion like this isn't Hey, you know, I had

(11:21):
an affair with someone and it got out and I
had to get fired from my job. That's where you
go away for a couple of years and you come
back and go, hey, I learned my lesson. You know,
most of the time when when when you see people
lose their jobs like this, there's not the breaking and
entering third degree home invasion stalking, you know, added to
this is you know, but that's a lot of that,
a lot of leg you know, heavy legal stuff like this.

(11:44):
It's outside of just the coaching, but that's it. It's
been the false equivalence.

Speaker 2 (11:48):
And you know, at least in this individual space, and
if he's exonerated, then we can have that conversation. Right,
he goes to jail for whatever period of time rehabilitation,
we can have that conversation. But to your point, Yeah,
there's there's a difference between resigning or being fired, uh

(12:08):
and being disgraced versus criminal charges.

Speaker 1 (12:12):
Yeah, I mean that that that's that's the that's the
deal breaker for everything, whether you are you know, Rick
Patino or Bobby Petrino, all the like, who all have
had issues, you know, personally with affairs and different situations. Yeah, okay,
it never got to that point where the guys were
in handcuffs or the guys were appearing from a jail cell,
you know, to enter a plea somewhere like that. That's

(12:34):
that's something that this is that's unique to this situation.
This is Sharon Moore and this is what happened with
him and this relationship. And again he's still in police
custody facing these charges. This is serious stuff. Mean, the guy,
the guy could go to prison. I mean, I don't
know what the what the what the potential time time
he could wind up serving is. But but that's where
this story is right now. This is we're one of

(12:56):
the point of redemption moving on, and who's gonna hire
him next? Like, hey, like he's got to Like if
he waits out of coaching cycle, someone's gonna say, all right,
let's go get this guy. I mean, I don't think
I don't think we're at that point right now to
have that conversation.

Speaker 2 (13:08):
Look, I mean, we're we're always ahead of the curve
this one. Uh, We're we're still in a very long
straightaway before we gotta we gotta worry about curves here man,
and anticipating. Uh, because there there's still so much in
the timeline of this story that still needs to be
pieced together, right, I mean, we're we're just now sloughing

(13:29):
off a bunch of rumors, and even those I don't
know that all of them are disproven. We just don't
know the answers. Right, there's a bunch of question marks
next to them. And and again it's you know, very
human thing, not performance football related, just uh, the curiosity
of what we find out about the the administration and

(13:52):
university in terms of their timeline and how this, how
quickly or how slowly this this came to bear? How
was this a long gest dating thing? And so long
as performance was strong. That all right, if it doesn't
blow up, and you know, don't don't cause any don't
upset the apple cart, as it were, versus a flash

(14:14):
point kind of situation like this ended in where he
ends up in a church.

Speaker 1 (14:19):
It's just insane. Exit. How about a Fresca exit swollen Dome.

Speaker 1 (15:52):
Fox Sports Radio The Jason Smith Show with my best
friend Mike Harmon. What before we get to the biggest
football games of the week. This just in and boy,
this is a shocker. This is a sad story. Peter Green,
one of the best on screen villains in movie history,

(16:14):
Bad Guy in the Mask, he was Zed in pulp fiction,
Redfoot in Usual Suspects, has passed away at the age
of sixty. He was found dead today inside his New
York City apartment. This story is just getting out there
right now. And I'll tell you, I remember when he
when he hit it big in the nineties, and he
was and he was Zed, and Zed was I mean,

(16:35):
come on, Zed's character in pulp fiction, come on exactly
so uneasy. Every single second he's on screen, He's incredible.
And then you know, even the little bit he's in
unusual suspects like this guy you talk about someone that, hey,
I can do the movie villain thing, and I know
how to do that better than almost anybody in the world.
He was phenomenal. He's at over seventy five movie credits.

(16:56):
But obviously, I mean he's Zed. I mean he's Ed.
Whose motorcycle is this? It's a chopper, baby, Who's chopper?
Is this? Z's I mean everybody knows Z. And you know,
just a sad story just to mention him for a minute,
because he really did have some kind of career, I
mean again, hitting it big, playing a host of bad
guys in the nineteen nineties.

Speaker 2 (17:16):
Yeah, long, long career, long long list on IMDb, but
certainly the mask and pulp fiction the two biggest in
pop culture for you know, remembering his roles there.

Speaker 1 (17:29):
The role of Z. I mean that you always want villain.

Speaker 2 (17:33):
You can play a villain over the top, that's not
over the top, that's the terrifying underbelly of what, you know,
the guy next door that you look at sideways kind
of thing. I was like nice normal antique start, yeah,
not so much, you know, kind of sundry items and
pawn shop nope, next level stuff. So good thoughts to

(17:54):
his friends, families, fans, and probably have qu up the
old pulp fiction a.

Speaker 1 (17:59):
Little yeah it, you know. And two things from from
from that from that role of pulp fiction is Za
like the introduction of him. Well so so Bruce Willison
and Ving Raims are fighting in the street and it
spills into the into the the gun shop and the
pawn shop and the guy, you guy, takes some hostage
and he says, you know, only two people are allowed
to kill people in this store, me and Zed. And

(18:22):
then the doorbell rings and that's Zed and you're like, Okay,
how is this guy gonna come in? Like that's an
unbelievable entrance, right, that's an unbelievable job of writing and directing, Like,
how is someone gonna come in and live up to that?
And he comes in and you're just like, oh man,
this is the most evil guy in the planet. I mean,
you watch him do the Eenie Meani mine and he's

(18:46):
just like, oh my god, Like your skin is crawling
and you're on the edge of your seat in that
scene in pulp fiction while he's doing that that. There's
sometimes when when actors just go I got it. I'm
in the zone. And and that role him in that moment. Man,
he was in the zone.

Speaker 2 (19:00):
Man, absolutely under legendary scenes, no question, terrifying on many
many levels.

Speaker 1 (19:07):
Rest in peace, Peter Green, sixty years old. But look,
our business is sports and we're getting on here and
it's a it's a football Friday, and we talked about
a big quarterback change in the NFL this week, and
it's official. The Brady Era has begun for the Jets. Well,
he said he was coming.

Speaker 2 (19:24):
Back, Brady Jets for the Jets, the Brady Era.

Speaker 1 (19:29):
Hey, it was just it was just a scant twenty
five years ago where a quarterback got hurt, young man
named Brady came in to play his first game played Okay,
didn't win the game, but after that things got better,
went on to win the Super Bowl that year and
had a twenty year run. Well, what happened last week.
Quarterback named Brady is thrust into the game after an injury,
plays Okay, gets a big touchdown pass drop to wind

(19:51):
up losing. That's okay. Now, this week the Jets take
on the Jaguars and Brady Cook is your starting quarterback.
The uncrafted free a out of Missouri, and he is
starting on Sunday the next twenty years. Mike Harbon, the
Jets own them. We had one Brady era in two thousand,
now the new Brady era in twenty twenty five. Four
hundred and fifty yards and four touchdowns on Sunday.

Speaker 2 (20:13):
Money line is plus six hundred if you want to
go down that road, Buddy. Completions over under set at
sixteen and a half minus won twenty one. There pass completions,
we're looking at fifteen.

Speaker 1 (20:29):
Yeah, if you get.

Speaker 2 (20:32):
Get it exact, you get six to one on that.
So there you go and passing yards, let's have a
little bit of fun with that. Well, they don't even
have a line for him there.

Speaker 1 (20:41):
Well, let's be honest, they don't even bother.

Speaker 2 (20:43):
It's a Trevor Lawren's band Breeze Hall is dinged up,
so he may not play. They're not gonna suddenly give
the ball TOWAYESAA Davis twenty five times.

Speaker 1 (20:52):
It'll be a lot. It'll be Brady Cook twenty seven
out of fifty five on Sundays. Over under for pass
attempts is thirty and a half. He'll reach that easy,
And are you kidding? And that's his second He'll get
there one hundred percent. He will get there. Uh So,
while the Brady and the new Brady era is upon us. Now,
you don't need to watch football for the next twenty years.
The Jets are Oh wait.

Speaker 2 (21:12):
Wait, we need to addressed the other piece from the
Jets game though, what your coach said he wants to
come back and play.

Speaker 1 (21:18):
Yeah, the Brady era is here, that said, Oh no, no, no,
the Aaron Glenn era. He said, I'm fifty three. I
got a couple of snaps in me. Yeah, you know what,
the way the defensive backs are going this year, he
may have to get out there for a couple of snaps.

Speaker 2 (21:32):
Well, I mean we saw him with the dance that
he certainly has the moves.

Speaker 1 (21:36):
Oh sure, yeah. And you know the thing is, I'm
glad that he does have the day like even though
they lost the game and it was a bad thing
for him to you know, hey, there's still two minutes
left in the game. Aaron Glenn, Why why are you
dancing like the game is over? It's not. There's still
two minutes left, but now they lost. But I'm glad
there's that because the only other look Aaron Glenn was
a terrific player for a long time for the Jets. Right,
I memt his entire career. He was a great player.

(21:57):
Right Bill Parcell's favorite. He was phenomenal. Uh. But the
big headline and the only video you ever see of
Aaron Glenn is he's the guy that gets victimized in
the Dan Marino fake spike. Right, He's the guy, But
he's also the only guy on the field that knew
that play was happening. He's the everybody else is standing, right,
He's the only guy. He stays with the play the

(22:18):
entire time. It's just a back shoulder throw. This is
like before the back shoulder fade became a thing. It's
just a back shoulder throw that you know. There's nothing
to do. He's into the end zone looking for the
fade on it. So it's not like he was standing
and and and receiver ran right by him. This was
he was right there. It's just Marino threw a bleeping
bullet and and that was a touchdown.

Speaker 2 (22:39):
Marina, tell you he keeps coming back on you. Every
every week or two, there's a there's another Marino. How
about we get him. I bet he could still spin it.
That guy couldn't move either. Oh I'm sure, Oh yeah,
him up back there.

Speaker 1 (22:53):
Let's see who can who can move more? Dan Marino
or Philip Rivers. That's a that's a tough one. Man.

Speaker 2 (23:00):
We might be waiting and we can go through a
large tub of popcorn waiting for that forty to finish.

Speaker 1 (23:06):
So two of the biggest games on Sunday, number one,
the Chargers and the Chiefs. Justin Frosburg, I believe is
landed in Kansas City, probably enjoying barbecue right now, getting
ready for the game on Sunday. Chargers are the Chiefs.
Another game where you're getting a lot of pundits, a
lot of experts saying, well, the Chiefs have to win
this game because you know there are seasons at stake
and they're playing at home. Have you been watching the Chiefs?

(23:30):
Like I said, I'm your Chiefs whisper. Everything I've said
so far about the Chiefs has come true. Stock up,
Patrick Mahomes, stock down on the Chiefs. Other teams are younger, better,
It's going to be a struggle for them to even
make the playoffs. Their season ends on Sunday. Not because
I think the Chargers go in and win in a
large way and they blow them out. No, it's gonna
be one of those nip tuck down to the wire games.

(23:50):
But the Chiefs can't beat teams with good defenses. The
Chargers have a great defense. Again tonight we've had it's
been a big common theme the top. We've mentioned the
top five defense in the NFL the entire night. The
Chargers have one of the top five defenses. The Chiefs
have an issue, they don't have enough playmakers. Every week
Travis Kelcey seems to drop a pass that meant the

(24:11):
Chiefs go from winning the game to losing the game.
I have confidence that the Chargers, even though it's on
the road and the Chargers had to fly halfway across
the country and it's in cold weather. It's gonna be
twenty degrees on Sunday, it's gonna look a lot like
the Chargers game against the Eagles on Monday night. It's
gonna be ugly. Justin Herbert will get hit a lot.
But I see the Chargers running the football a lot

(24:31):
to keep control of the ball, and the Charger defense
makes enough plays to win this game. And just because
the Chiefs are playing at home and they've always done.
It doesn't mean they're always gonna win. Give me the
Chargers to end the chief season on Sunday.

Speaker 2 (24:44):
Old rule pass performance not indicative of future with charge.
Chiefs fourth in the NFL with twenty five drop passes.
Hang a star on it because you have to decide
what's a drop what's really catch? But but what isn't The
Jaguars lead the entire NFL with thirty eight by way
of comparison. But to your point, you know, I think

(25:05):
anybody that starts doing the Patrick Mahomes isn't this that
the other hasn't watched any Chiefs football this year because
he's been magnificent for the most part. Yeah, are there spots? Yeah?
Show me the quarterback without the warts this year. I
mean even Matthew Stafford, your leader in the clubhouse for MVP,
has had his issues at times. But you look at

(25:29):
the Chiefs and there's just nothing they really do well.
The defense is good, not great. Mahomes has been fine,
but you know, Rashid Rice appears, disappears. The run game
has been sporadic at best. For fantasy purposes, as like,
I have to put up Mahomes as a I don't
know that I start him. I'm looking at my other
option on my bench this week against Mintor and this

(25:51):
charger Deefen, and I think that's the story. Here is
a guy that wants either the Michigan job or he
wants an NFL job.

Speaker 1 (25:56):
So what's he gonna do.

Speaker 2 (25:57):
He's gonna have that defense flying around the Oh, they're
going to the cold. You can tell me that's gonna
work with the Jim Harbaugh squad. You got a quarterback
running out there who's been rebuilt, bigger, faster, stronger like
the six million dollar man. All right, So much made
of the surgery and the pain threshold and all of that. Hey,
I want to go celebrate with my teammates.

Speaker 1 (26:18):
Leave me alone. Postgame interview. A debacle that went down. Yeah,
the two headed monster in the run game helps control
things and it all comes down to your guy, Dicker,
the kicker. Yeah, plus five and a half is an
easy score. From where I sit Lions and the Rams. Uh.

(26:39):
Maybe the Lions are the Chiefs of the NFC. The
chiefs window with this team is closing, right. They need
big change in the offseason, and they'll get them right.
That's a topic for next week. Trust me, things aren't
all bad for the Chiefs, even though this year is
a struggle. But the Chiefs window with this team this
iteration seems like it's closed. And you don't want to

(27:03):
think that for the Lions because most of their playmakers
are young. But they're on a three year decline from
the NFC Championship game to losing their playoff game to
the Commanders at home last year to now on the
outside of the playoff looking in. Things are trending up,
They're not getting better. This is not all of a sudden.
The Lions are in this third year of dominance. Things

(27:25):
are not getting better, and maybe their window is closed
with this team and they need other changes because it's
just not working. When Dan Campbell took over the play
calling on offense, okay, that was a little bit of
a jump start, but it's just overall things aren't meshing
and it's much more difficult for a team that has
the most talented offense in the NFL to be at

(27:46):
the point where they're on the outside looking and looking
up at two other teams even in their own division.
And this week it's gonna get even tougher because I
have way more confidence that the Rams, again top five defense,
had more confidence they're gonna make the big plays, not
that they're gonna shut down the Lions offense. I love
the over, I love the points in this game, but

(28:06):
you're talking about on the road and the Rams playing
at home, and this is a case where, hey, the
Rams defense will probably get those couple of turnovers that
they need. I don't know that the Lions defense is
gonna be able to do enough where it's gonna be
more of situational defensive achievement by the Rams this week.
Maybe it's a big stop late in the fourth quarter,

(28:27):
maybe it's a couple of back to back stops in
the third quarter when the Rams score a couple of
times and get ahead of the Lions. But again, more
confidence that the Rams defense, as good as it is,
can force the Lions into a couple more mistakes, the
Rams win, and they cement their spot at the top
of the NFL as the best team. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (28:45):
I just don't know how you're stopping the Rams offense
right now with what Detroit's bringing, all right, You're putting
an awful lot of pressure on that front, on the
d line to get after Stafford, to give your secondary
a chance. They are depleted, starting a lot of first
times guys with minimal snaps on the season, they've they've
sent a couple of their heavyweights to the I R

(29:08):
and so I think that's different. Well, they score some points. Sure,
Williams has stepped up as a couple acted back Devin.

Speaker 1 (29:17):
They're trying on swimming.

Speaker 2 (29:23):
Uh from you know, to take extrapolate it to the
field to play week to week. You're getting alternately monster
great weeks.

Speaker 1 (29:35):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (29:36):
And he needs to be spectacular for them to get
over the hump, to over overcome what that defense can't do.
Fifty four and a half is the total uh, and
that's pressure going upward. Rams six point favorites. I think
they get the win, uh, but Detroit keeps it close.
And to your point, it's it's that one defensive stop, uh,

(29:57):
towards the end where golf makes a mistake. We're on
a third down or fourth down play that they gotta
have it. They don't get it because statistically it's going
against them.

Speaker 1 (30:08):
Yeah, but look it may be thirty nine thirty seven,
you know, it's it's the case of where you see
like an NB thirty seven where they in a row
where they play situational defense, and yet they've given up
one thirty. But the final three minutes of the fourth quarter, boy,
they really stepped it up and it looked like they
were playing great. Like that may be what it what
it gets, but that's all the rams are gonna need
rams and the lights. I'm sorry to all my relatives

(30:31):
in Detroit, Uh, but yeah, that's okay. Time of the
final bots. Trending in the wide world of sports with
someone who has sucked it up all night with a
temperature of one hundred and seventeen degrees, with a cough,
with a sneeze. She is a She is a walking
ad for chicken soup and and all kinds of sects

(30:55):
and hot showers and whatever else you need. It's Monty
Belangos with what's trend. I'm not that bad.

Speaker 4 (31:02):
Listeners are gonna think I'm on my deathbed and here
working not that bad. I sound worse than I feel.
I think. I'm just you know, I'm pasted it. I
think I'm past the worst. I just sound so funny again, sexy,
like Phoebe says, smelly cat, guys home.

Speaker 1 (31:18):
And have a whiskey tonight. Just throw that shot back.

Speaker 4 (31:21):
Oh, yes, no, I'm gonna do that. I'm absolutely gonna
do that.

Speaker 1 (31:24):
Uh shot, shot shot.

Speaker 4 (31:27):
We'll start in the NFL. Since you guys were just
talking about this. Upcoming week fifteen, the Raiders are going
to start can you pick it? At quarterback against the Eagles.
Gino Smith has a shoulder injury. The Jets are starting
rookie Brady Cook at quarterback against the Jaguars. The Colts
have not publicly named a starting quarterback yet for their
matchup against the Seahawks. Cowboys will have Ceed Lamb he
cleared concussion protocol. Bengals won't have t Higgins he did

(31:50):
not clear concussion protocol. One second, guys.

Speaker 2 (31:57):
Talk about so hey, you know, you know Mansie gave
a state the gold there though, I mean, we do
have a Super Bowl matchup, super Bowl winning quarterbacks facing
off as Hertz and pick it, get after it.

Speaker 4 (32:09):
Yes, that's right, that's right. Okay, I'm back, I'm back,
going to do this way.

Speaker 1 (32:12):
Before I'm losing again. I tried to sell a thank you,
thank you.

Speaker 4 (32:15):
This is team teamwork, team eup for Indiana. Quarterback for
Nano Mendoza took home the Davey O'Brien Award for Best
Quarterback and the Maxwell Award for Most Outstanding Player in
the Nation. In the NBA, Timberwolves had a one twenty
seven to one to twenty win over the Warriors despite
no Anthony or despite no Wait, despite thirty nine points
from Steph Curry. Also, Minnesotad didn't even have Anthony Edwards

(32:36):
in this game and they managed to win. Donovan Mitchell
dropped forty eight points, Cavaliers rally passed the Wizards won
thirty to one twenty six. Joe l Embiid with a
vintage type of night thirty nine points, nine rebound seventy
six ers outscore the Pacers one fifteen to one oh five.
Jalen Johnson recorded his third straight triple double. He had
nineteen points, eleven rebounds, eleven assists and the Pistons rolled

(32:56):
past the Hawks one forty two to one point fifteen.
Josh Giddy had to the six points and the Bulls
stop the Hornets win twenty nine to one twenty six.
Keyante George had a career high thirty nine points and
the Jazz beat the Grizzlies one thirty to one twenty six,
while the Mavericks pulled away in the fourth quarter to
defeat the Nets one nineteen to one eleven. Anthony Davis
with his own double double twenty four points and fourteen rebounds.

Speaker 1 (33:17):
Also Spurs expect Victor.

Speaker 4 (33:18):
Win Binyama to return from his calf injury to play
against the Thunder in Saturday semi final of the NBA
Cup in Las Vegas, but he's expected to play limited
minutes in the NHL two games on Friday night, the
Blues stopped the Blackhawks three to two and the Mammoth
outscored the Kraken five to three.

Speaker 1 (33:34):
Back to you, guys, all I know wanti now before
you go. I know it's been a rough night. It's
awesome when you came in. Can you do can you
say one more thing for me? What I want you
to say? Red rum, red rum? Can you do that?

Speaker 4 (33:47):
Red rum, red rum? That was pretty good.

Speaker 1 (33:51):
That was really good. Thank you forever nicely. You know
what I date. I think she'll be happy to have
it replace a former Jason. You have to guide her.
I want you to be scared and want you say
like you want to just do you want to really
irk the listener? Try it one more time. I'm trying
to scare the listener. Yes, like I just want to
get into their spine.

Speaker 4 (34:10):
Try Red.

Speaker 1 (34:13):
Yeah, there we go. There you go, Tyson like he's
a director and he's it what you do in this scene? Okay,
they need you to feel a little wistful. Can you
do that again? We'll feel better. Enjoy. Are you doing tomorrow?
I hope, so, I hope.

Speaker 4 (34:30):
I'm I wake up even a little bit better. Yesterday
I didn't have a voice, and I woke up better today,
So I'm hoping tomorrow I will wake up better.

Speaker 1 (34:37):
All right, very good. Just bring a bullhorn and you
just talking to that and you just have people listen.

Speaker 4 (34:41):
Exactly exactly, yes, yea good night.

Speaker 1 (34:47):
Really that Red gonna It's gonna take a lot of
people by surprise when T Shirt keeps playing that exit
up about a fresco. That's pretty good name that voice.

Coming up next, we preview the most underrated game of
the weekend and give you two big bold predictions. That's next,
Jason and Mike Fox Sports Radio, standing the back teeth.

(35:17):
You know, well, I don't care what AI can bring
us they can't bring us that exact enjoy. Yeah, they
can make it sound smoother and like Bill Belichick's actually
singing it. But I think the unfair editing, there's something
to be said for that. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (35:32):
Fox Sports Radio, stop start, stutter, hesitation is a win.

Speaker 1 (35:38):
Jason Smith and Mike Harmon live from the Fox Sports
Radio studios. All right, So, as we get set for
another big week in the NFL, the most underrated game
of the week, the Browns and the Bears. Why underrated? Well,
First of all, Shador Sanders, who is now the starting
quarterback for the Browns the rest of the season, was
asked about his status this week. He says, I'm just

(36:00):
focused on Chicago. You want something different about him? He
kind of feels like he could be the next Jameis Winston. Right,
He's got the talent. He's a gun slinger. He's entertaining
on and off the field. He's going to put points
on the board. He's gonna throw the football to the
other team a lot, and and it's he's gonna be impressive,

(36:21):
he's gonna be maddening. Like That's kind of how it
feels like the path that he is on because he
is someone that so far as you were seeing, Yes,
I will make big plays, but I'm also someone that
is gonna, you know, maybe think I can make more
plays than I can and as entertaining as Jameis Winston
has been throughout his career. Now I kind of feel
like that could be the next way forward for Shador Sanders,

(36:44):
Like is he is he ever gonna get the hug
or the trust that he needs to be a starting
quarterback like Jamis had thirty touchdowns and thirty picks. It
was the last time he was the starting quarterback in
the NFL, but he has had moments where he's shown
maybe I could do it, maybe I can't, But his
his last ten years has been some kind of ride,
and Shador Sanders kind of feels like he could be

(37:05):
that same kind of guy. Incredibly entertaining, incredibly dynamic. Wow,
he'll throw thirty touchdowns at thirty picks. He's the next
guy I could see throwing thirty touchdowns and thirty interceptions.
Is Shador Sanders one hundred percent?

Speaker 2 (37:19):
Yeah, There's no question Jason that he got the gift
of gab from his old man. Outside of that little
back and forth, Hey write something nice about me kind
of thing. In the preseason, he said all the right things,
talking about team, talking about growing and all of that stuff,
which is fantastic. And the one thing that you love
his quarterbacks that are willing to put the ball in

(37:40):
harm's way and to try to make a play, especially
when you know your team's not very good, trying to
jumpstart some things. So that's what we've seen. So a
little bit of Harold Fannin. He's gotten a good run.
Jerry Judy has been revitalized to at least a little
bit of a degree, and you got a good, great
defense at times. But yeah, for Shadur, I'm curious to

(38:02):
see the growth and the continued development because we need
more quarterbacks, as evidenced by the fact, what are we
at like fifty five And I'm not talking about Philip
rivers Age. I'm talking about the number of quarterbacks who
start a game this year.

Speaker 1 (38:15):
Now. Meanwhile, the other side of the coin, Oh, here
come the Bears. Off this really bad loss to the Packers.
Guess what, The Bears are still gonna win the NFC North.
They'll be back in first place by the end of
the day Sunday, because Green Bay is gonna lose to Denver.
The Bears are gonna win this game, Hey Shouder, Sandals
put some points on the board, but he's also gonna
turn the ball over two or three times. The Bears lost.

(38:37):
It was one play at the end. It's part of
the growth of Caleb Williams. If he waits one more second,
DJ Moore is open and he walks into the end
zone like it's all part of the process. Yes, it
went into green Bay. They lost a tough game. It happens,
and they have three of their last four games at home.
They'll be back in first place after this Sunday. Everything
is still great for the Bears. Your Bears, Mike Carmon,

(38:58):
there are still no problems even after the loss of
the Packers on Sunday.

Speaker 2 (39:04):
Now good spot here in the meat and the sandwich
before the next battle against green Bay seven and a
half point favorites. You're looking at an opportunity here the
run game.

Speaker 1 (39:14):
For the Bears too much.

Speaker 2 (39:15):
Not looking for fireworks necessarily from Caleb overall, but the
defense will get their takeaways. Adding on to the twenty
seven They've already.

Speaker 1 (39:22):
