Let's give this.

Speaker 3 (00:23):
If you're listening to Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 1 (00:31):
Hello, Welcome inside final hour tonight the Jason Smith Show
with my best friend Mike Harmon. What's in the bag
for shark or something? Live from the tire rack dot
com studios. Tirac dot com help you get there. An
unmatched selection, fast, free shipping, free road hazard protection at
over ten thousand recommended installers. Tiraq dot com is the

(00:52):
way tire buying should be. Well. Before we get to
our big picks for tomorrow's action in the NFL, the
Lakers and the Nets. Oh boy. The Lakers lead the
Nets one oh two to one oh one after Austin Reeves,
who had a thirty eight point game tonight, career high

(01:15):
for him. Thirty eight points from Austine's lebron was a
near triple double, had a big night. Two Austin Reeves
misses a short shot and the Nets have one chance
to win this game. Shot clock is off. What do
you think was gonna be? It was gonna be D'Angelo Russell,
who had a big game off the bench, former Laker,

(01:36):
who's going blank you, blank you, blank you. This is
going in blank you misses from twenty five feet in
the final seconds. A big night, nineteen points off the
bench for him, and the Lakers hold on to beat
the Nets one oh two to one oh one.

Speaker 4 (01:54):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (01:54):
It was fun, It was It was you know, like
it shouldn't have been this fun because it's the Nets
visiting the lake. But look, yeah, no a D right,
no a D. So you know they did have to
move things around a little bit. But this, yeah, but
this is just this is who the Lakers are, right.
This is just for all of the the the talk

(02:16):
or think that they're gonna become this, They're gonna be came,
They're gonna get it together and they're gonna be great.
It's not happening. Oh, they're gonna everything's gonna fall apart
and then they're not gonna be able to make trades
that No, it's not gonna be that either. No, the
Lakers are gonna chug along here. A few games go
over five hundred, and this is how the season's gonna go.
And they'll get to the playoffs, and maybe the first

(02:37):
round they can have if they if they stay out
of the play in round, maybe the first round they
can have, and they can they can win if they're
if they have the right matchups against. But then they're
going home in the second round. Like that's that's how
the Lakers season is going to go. I mean, here
here at mid January, I'll tell you this is how
it's gonna go. Maybe they say they stay out of
the playing round. Maybe not. They should get out of
the playing round, but if they don't, it's not gonna

(02:59):
be hugely surprising. Maybe they can win the first round.
If they do, it would be a really big deal.
And then they'll go home in the second round. And
that's just how it's gonna This is just it's just
who the Lakers are. They're not gonna change your identity.
You hear that saying all the time. People say, hey,
when someone shows you who they are, believe them, right
Like that, when someone shows you who they are. You
believe them. The Lakers have show been showing us who

(03:21):
they are for the last three years. It's like, not
our faultf you don't believe us, not, this is just
who we are. Okay, I get it, this is who
the Lakers are.

Speaker 2 (03:29):
Well, and all just comes back to as we talk
about with the NBA each and every year. I love
watching the roller coaster as we were on it. Right, Hey,
let's let's see some great highlights. Let's watch some big games,
fantastic finishes. This one at a great finish, as Frostburn said, hey,
just win. Right now, he's channeling Raiders people, which is
a problem for him, but you know, just win. Maybe

(03:51):
that's it. Take take the W and move on. The
Clippers the last couple of nights, right, they basically got freebies.
These are free games. Square, you have the Brooklyn squad
followed by Portland.

Speaker 5 (04:03):
That might be the softest.

Speaker 6 (04:04):
Back to back you're ever gonna get on a schedule,
But your players on the schedule take the w's take
whatever leisurely strolls you can in the fourth quarter, and
you succeed and proceed.

Speaker 2 (04:17):
It all comes down to come mid April, as we
get the playoffs second season started, Who the hell's healthy?

Speaker 1 (04:24):
Right?

Speaker 2 (04:24):
Are you able to count on Anthony Davis and Lebron James.
If you can, then you have a puncher's chance against
most squads. Right If Austin Reeves is gonna be able
to play as he did tonight now with Davis there,
does he need to go for thirty eight?

Speaker 5 (04:38):
No, But when you can have an.

Speaker 2 (04:40):
Explosion like that, if you get consistency from Ruy Hachimora,
which you did for chunks of last year until he
got hurt this year, missed some time due to injuries.
So if you get normal reasonable minutes, and notice how
it's a lot of ifs and hands and butts. And
that's where we're at with a lot of these squads,
because once you get past the stars on the squad,

(05:03):
you got a lot of dice rolls.

Speaker 5 (05:05):
What are you get from Denver? No idea? Even with
your stars.

Speaker 2 (05:09):
Jamal Murray had that big game the other night, you
would have thought it was the first game the guy
ever played the way people got excited about it, Like, no,
he just hadn't hadn't been that guy for them this year.

Speaker 5 (05:20):
So like tada, there he is? Is that gonna be consistent.

Speaker 2 (05:24):
Probably not, but for a night it gets tongues wagon
Steph currys saying he doesn't want to get dealt great storylines,
but Lebron and ad are healthy. Could be fun as
long as he just stops lying about Torch and Michael
Jordan in a game that everybody's told you, including himself,
that that never ever happened except in fantasyland.

Speaker 1 (05:43):
Yeah. But look, but the Lakers, when when one side
comes up big for them, they struggle elsewhere. It's Yin
and yang. Right, you can't. They haven't had They haven't
been able to say, Hey, let's fight, let's all gel together, right,
let's coalesce. Let's be able to fire on all cylinders. No,
they can't when when once one part of the team
is doing something, it means the other part is not right.

(06:05):
They can't just get Hey, let's get solid play from
our starters. Let's get solid play off the bench. Just
can't do it well, Jets, you know, it's like, no,
it's like a baseball team that that Hey, when they
when they score seven runs in the game, they're pitching
gives up eight, and when they pitching gives up one run,
they don't score in a game like they just can't
sync up. And the guy, the guy that the quintessential

(06:27):
guy at this is Dalton Connect because I'm old enough
to remember back in the middle of November when he
had that thirty seven point game against Utah, it was
like in a row and it was like five games
in a row of double figures. He averaged like twenty points.
It was, Oh, my goodness, He's the rookie of the year.
He's awesome. He's awesome. Well, the guy has made twelve
baskets since the calendar turned to January. Right, he has

(06:48):
seen his minutes go from thirty plus minutes a game
to now he's playing about fifteen minutes a game. And
he hasn't scored in three games, hasn't scored from the
floor in three games. He's gone from a guy that Wow,
he's he may be the best pick we've seen too. Well,
now he's a rookie who comes off the bench and
scores five or six points a game, like for the
ascension of Austin Reeves. And now look Austin Reeves, who

(07:09):
they're paying and who should be a guy that continues
to ascend? Right, he was not ascending while Dalton Connect
is playing well. Why why can't both things happen? Why
can't you start Austin Reeves and have him, you know,
and he can have the season he has. Why can't
Dalton Connect come off the bench? Why can't he do
it in less minutes when he's getting used to the
riggers of the NBA. We've seen him succeed, We've seen

(07:30):
him score twenty in a game. Why is he just
suddenly someone who has fallen nearly out of the rotation
or someone who's playing unimportant minutes. This is how it
goes for the Lakers. Anytime you get something out of
one aspect of what we really need, this really not
getting the rest of it either. I mean that that's
how it works for the Lakers.

Speaker 2 (07:46):
Now it's gonna be insiniaate fun ride to watch though,
right because like we talked about with the Josh Allen
Lamar Jackson debate, which you'll pick up steam and it'll be
often imitated, never duplicated. Find the podcast as it goes
up later on tonight and evangelize tell your friend's family
across the globe with Lebron James, everything he does, everything

(08:07):
he says, has folks interested and with the Lakers. If
it fails, then those that want to be on the
side of see he's done, he's cooked. He should retire,
he should go hang out with Aaron Rodgers and they
should start a podcast together. In the new retirement age.
You're gonna have that. But if they win, it's all

(08:28):
the better for the NBA. Why because one of their
stars that they can still brand and sell as well
as anything, is still still alive and playing. So yeah,
it's the best of all worlds for us because hot
take Nonsense is sure to follow The.

Speaker 1 (08:45):
Jameson Smith Show with Mike carbon Lifethtirec dot Com Studios,
more NBA on the way. But as we're on the
cusp of the best weekend of football we'll get in.
The NFL Divisional Playoff round is always the best round.
The pretenders have gone home. The teams that that have
surprised and won a couple of games and gotten in
and are shocking America and making us tune into their games.

(09:06):
They're playing for potentially the last time this weekend as
the big boys all come out, the number one seeds
come out to play Tomorrow's action. Let's start by breaking
down a game that I can't even say I'd like
to pick Washington to beat Detroit because I'm not insane.
I can't live in I gotta live in my house.
I gotta go to Detroit. I gotta visit Pam's family.

(09:27):
I'm not not picking the Lions to win this game.
I can't do it. They would. They would kidnap me
off the plane, and all of a sudden, I'd be
in like one of those spy movies where I wake
up and I'm tied up in a room and my
hands are above me, and you know, of course, you know,
there's blood coming out of my mouth, and someone's down there,
you know, showing me all these different like advice and
some sort of device they're gonna use to torture me,

(09:48):
Like that's what happened to me if I didn't pick
the Lions. But not only am I going to pick
the Lions. The Lions are gonna win, and they're gonna
win easy. If Jared Goff and the starters aren't middle
of the fourth quarter with their shoulder pads off in
the sideline joking around, I'll be really surprised. It's one
thing for the Commanders to beat a mediocrely good Tampa
Bay team. Right, it's one thing for that. And this

(10:10):
is not anything against Jayden Daniels. We talked about him
this week. There are five truly great quarterbacks in the NFL,
and he is one of them because his team wins
because of him and he makes the players around him better. Right,
he is one of the top five best quarterbacks in
the NFL because he does something. He and four other
guys Burrow and Mahomes and Lamar Jackson and Josh Allen,

(10:31):
they do things nobody else does. But in a case
of one great player versus the one great team, if
the one great team is playing at home, I'm gonna
take the team. You know. The Lions are that rare
contender that loses in the one step short of the
Super Bowl and comes back the next year. So incredibly hungry,

(10:52):
and they play so good for all eighteen games, and
they are ready for the playoffs a week off. They
are foaming at the mouth to play in this game.
They are peaking, they are focused. They'll get David Montgomery back,
although it shouldn't matter because the offense is even better.
When Jamiir Gibbs gets twenty carries in a game, you're
gonna find out pretty quickly that the Lions are not

(11:13):
Tampa Bay. And maybe Jaden Daniels keeps it close for
a little while. I'm sure he's gonna have some wow
plays that make us understand how great the future is
from and the president is for Washington as well. But
eventually they're gonna have to score with Detroit and they're
not gonna be able to and the Lions are gonna
pour point after point on the board, and if it's
if it's not forty four to twenty four in the

(11:34):
fourth quarter, again, I'll really be surprised at this because
the Lions have everything they need right now. This is
not a game where the Lions fall short. They win
this game. They win it big over Washington.

Speaker 2 (11:45):
Opportunity knocks and Washington walks through the door. Yeah, I'm
I'm calling for chaos.

Speaker 1 (11:51):
You're just doing that because I'm picking the Lions. That's
the only reason you're doing this. That's the only I pick.

Speaker 5 (11:56):
The same team as now.

Speaker 1 (11:58):
Now, you want Pam to hate you and her family
to hate you, and that's fine, I'll have them hate.

Speaker 2 (12:02):
I'm gonna go out on a limb and say, for
eleven years they've probably done that.

Speaker 1 (12:06):
No, your name rarely comes up, but now it will.
Now it'll come up all the time.

Speaker 2 (12:10):
If this is the thing that's gonna get me in
the doghouse, then so be it.

Speaker 5 (12:14):
Call me Fido, all right, But here we go.

Speaker 1 (12:16):
Everybody in Pam's family is Steve BUSHEMI. Your name is
on the list in Billy Madison.

Speaker 5 (12:23):
Easily, easy enough, I'll wear it.

Speaker 2 (12:26):
Daniels in the offense, get it going against a banged
up Lion defense. One guy coming back as great as
his hair is, and everything else doesn't save them. Daniels
and company able to move the ball, keep up with
the point barrage because there will be a lot of
points scored in this game. It's one where we don't
have to worry about whether quite obviously over Under is

(12:47):
at fifty five and a half Lions minus nine and
a half. I'll take Washington with the points. I'm gonna
take him to win. Outright, defense does enough to confound
Jared Goff. They get after him and cause that wan play.
That one chaotic play that sets the world to blaze
is dan Quinn and company get a w and Ben

(13:09):
Johnson is left looking around. Boy, I had the world
at my feet.

Speaker 3 (13:14):
Now we'll go to the Jets.

Speaker 1 (13:15):
I guess I guess it's the Jets. It's the Jets
are nowhere. Hey, Aaron Rodgers, the Jets are nowhere for you.
Jets are nowhere for me.

Speaker 5 (13:23):
Very good Commanders.

Speaker 1 (13:26):
Sure, yes, their defense will do what no defense has
done the entire season until now.

Speaker 5 (13:31):
Hey, hey, you know what and you and you hate
t Swin.

Speaker 2 (13:33):
By the way, the Bears played really well against them
on Thanksgiving Day?

Speaker 5 (13:37):
What are you talking about?

Speaker 1 (13:38):
Because the Lions did you see they had dinner on
the sideline with their families and at halftime they were
only halfway focused on that.

Speaker 5 (13:44):
Should have lost that game? Number of what it should
have goods?

Speaker 1 (13:48):
Yeah? Really, how many games the Bears play that? You say, Boy,
they should have lost that game. But now I've found
a way to lose to.

Speaker 5 (13:53):
The pay and Bears, Bears loss to the Commanders.

Speaker 1 (13:57):
Stop looking at the big blow in the ground at
it out about a Fresca exit swollen dome. Well, Mike's
got the upset there for washing over Detroit.

Speaker 2 (14:05):
Heally, Like I said, I just said, you have the
upset over to Jerry mocking Tone, I said, you have the.

Speaker 1 (14:11):
Upset over Detroit. Let me fin Let me finish, mister interrupter,
let me finish. Is there a bigger upset on the
way tomorrow? Plus we get an in depth preview from
the Eagles and the Rams and one of the Eagles

Smith Show with my best friend Mike Harmon live from
the Tirerach dot com studios. Got an interview with the
Eagles Dallas Goddard coming up in a couple minutes. He
gets ahead of the big game Sunday against the Rams.
But uh, let's finish our preview of tomorrow's action. We

(16:05):
talked about the Lions and the Commanders a few minutes ago,
and I'll tell you this, I am taking the Texans
over the Chiefs and I am happy about it. Wow,
even even with the even with the reutem taking, I'm sorry,
I'm taking the Texans over the Chiefs and the referee.

Speaker 5 (16:25):
Chiefs plus eight and a half look at you.

Speaker 1 (16:27):
Once in a while, an underachieving team gets into the
playoffs and they either solve their issues or suddenly remember
who they were. And that's kind of what the Texans
looked like to me. They thought it was going to
be a great season. It was a lot of stop
and go. They never really found their momentum. They thought
Stefan Diggs is gonna be a difference maker. He gets hurt.

(16:50):
But last week everything clicked and I watched the defensive
line just absolutely wreck havoc against the Chargers and Justin
Herbert and turn Herbert into a guy. I've never seen
him play a game like that in the NFL. He's
had games better than others, but I've never seen a
game like that. And for Jim Harbaugh at the end
of the game to say, hey, we just couldn't control
Those are the best defensive ends we played against, right,

(17:12):
those are the best guys, and the Texans defensive line
controlled the game. What's been the kryptonite for the Chiefs
in the Mahomes era. When you can rush Mahomes with
just the four down lineman, when you can pressure him,
this is where he gets into trouble. This is where
he can find guys downfield and the Chiefs offense bogs down.

(17:32):
I will take that to happen tomorrow, especially as this
is not a up and down the field, scoreboard blitzing
Chiefs team. It's gonna be well. We'll keep it close
and went in the fourth quarter. The Texans defensive line
is going to roll it run the day again. CJ.
Stroud will make enough plays and it's gonna end with
a shocker twenty to sixteen. I'll take the Texans over

(17:53):
the Chiefs. People want to what happened to Kansas City.
They gotta go get more guys in the offseason, but
it's gonna be the Texans defense line that does it again.

Speaker 2 (18:01):
Chiefs haven't played in a couple of eeks. Remember they
laid down so Cincinnati wouldn't get into the playoffsers, so
I've been told, uh so.

Speaker 5 (18:07):
The rest is ready to go.

Speaker 2 (18:10):
I'm gonna look for just all the things you said
about Houston's defense and defense in front.

Speaker 1 (18:16):
I'm more.

Speaker 2 (18:18):
More in line with the idea that CJ. Stroud is
the one who's going to make the extra mistake. So
I'm gonna lay the eight and a half. That's Bagnola's defense.
You want he's showing out. He wants a head coaching job.
He wants to be Pete Cocky and that Mahomes and
company are in sync. Big plays Xavier Worthy and Travis Kelsey.
It's playoff time, baby, it's winning time. It's like your

(18:39):
own eras tour. Let's go final stops.

Speaker 1 (18:43):
Got sight?

Speaker 5 (18:44):
Uh, Mahomes, did I dismiss you?

Speaker 4 (18:46):
No?

Speaker 5 (18:46):
I didn't dismiss you. You dismissed my last pick. No,
I didn't make fun of you.

Speaker 1 (18:50):
You're fuck said you were fine. I'm saying, mister Mahomes,
meet mister Hunter and Anderson. You'll still see you in
the backfield all day long. Uh So we got more
nf able to get to right now because coming off
a big win last week, Covino and Rich, our teammates
here at Fox Sports Radio, had a chance this week
to catch up with tight en Dallas Goddard off the
big touchdown he had and ahead of the next playoff game.

(19:12):
Here's Cavino and Rich with Dallas Goddard.

Speaker 5 (19:14):
All right is.

Speaker 4 (19:14):
Cavino and Rich and his content is brought to you
by Otesla a Primo. Last and our featured guest is
a six foot five beast. Dallas got her an actual
Otesla patient who's been compensated for his time.

Speaker 5 (19:26):
Welcome Dallas, go away man.

Speaker 3 (19:27):
I'm doing well, doing well. Glad to be here with you. Guys.
Say you got a big smile on your face.

Speaker 8 (19:32):
You should because you rumbled into the end zone twenty
four yard touchdown. You were stiff, arman. Take us through
that play and how does that feel, especially in the postseason.

Speaker 9 (19:41):
Yeah, touchdowns always feel good. In the postseason, they feel
even better. It's definitely up there for one of my
favorite touchdowns in my career. But you know, it was
early in the third quarter. The offense has kind of
been sling out lately, and it was time to make
a play. It was a one score game and they
brought a cover zero. Jalen made a check, got the
balls in my hands quick, and you know, I saw

(20:04):
a cornerback and I never want to get.

Speaker 3 (20:06):
Tackled by a corner.

Speaker 9 (20:07):
So you know, I lowered my shoulder on him, pushed
him off me. He kept chasing me down and I
just kept pushing him away. Got on the end zone.
It was really cool because the entire stadium got super loud.
All my teammates were hyping me up, and it was
just a really good feeling. And like I said, getting
the end zone is always fun, but it's always even
better in the playoffs.

Speaker 3 (20:26):
You got that ball or what? Yeah, I got that ball.

Speaker 9 (20:30):
You know, I decided this year I'm gonna save all
my touchdown balls. I'm going to save all more jerseys,
you know, start stacking that memorabilia for sure.

Speaker 8 (20:38):
When you in the future picture that touchdown run, do
you picture first person? Or have you seen the highlights
so many times now that you actually picture the highlight?

Speaker 3 (20:46):
I say, I actually picture the highlight, even though you
lived it. You know, I lived it.

Speaker 9 (20:49):
Everything happened so fast you kind of just forget about it.
And then you watch the replay obviously.

Speaker 3 (20:55):
More times than you do it because I only get
to do it once, and.

Speaker 9 (20:58):
I've seen it so many times honestly, like it's a
third person wherever the camera was, that's my view.

Speaker 3 (21:03):
That I see it in all this time.

Speaker 8 (21:04):
Funny, we always wonder that does the athlete remember the
three pointer, the touchdown knocking someone out, or did they
picture the highlight?

Speaker 3 (21:11):
Yeah? Highlight?

Speaker 4 (21:11):
Yeah, I would imagine he sees it through his face
mask and he's like a shud.

Speaker 3 (21:15):
They need to get a little GoPros in.

Speaker 8 (21:17):
Hey, yeah, oh that's that's got a little bit.

Speaker 3 (21:19):
Now you got the ball, you got in the end zone.

Speaker 4 (21:21):
But if you were see Kwon Barkley late in the
fourth quarter on his breakaway run, would you have taken
a knee or gone the distance?

Speaker 3 (21:27):
Ooh that's tough.

Speaker 9 (21:28):
You know, you always want to say you want to
play the situation is really smart, do.

Speaker 3 (21:32):
The right thing. Happy that we got the first down
and we're able to end the game.

Speaker 9 (21:36):
But if it was me running the ball, I think
I would have taken it all the way to the
one yard line and then taken a knee.

Speaker 3 (21:41):
Get those Stars touchdown. But I need all the yards
I can get.

Speaker 1 (21:45):
Yeah.

Speaker 8 (21:45):
I even saw DeVante Smith was like why didn't he go?

Speaker 3 (21:48):
Were?

Speaker 8 (21:49):
You were your teammates saying like, yo, Saquon, you should
have just.

Speaker 3 (21:51):
Went Yeah, everybody was saying that.

Speaker 9 (21:53):
But I think he understands he's already got two thousand
yards on the year. He's been racking them up, so
he's like, ah, I'll save my legs for next week.

Speaker 3 (22:00):
I applaud that discipline.

Speaker 8 (22:01):
Man.

Speaker 3 (22:01):
Yeah, that's tough.

Speaker 8 (22:02):
After Jalen returned from the concussion. You guys, the passing
attack hasn't been you know, I guess you would say
fully in sync. What's your playing going into this game
against the Rams.

Speaker 9 (22:13):
We played the Rams earlier in the season, we were
able to get to win. What I remember the mouse
about him was how good their front was. They got
two defensive ends that play really physical.

Speaker 3 (22:23):
They're really good.

Speaker 9 (22:24):
So that'll be our biggest challenge going against them as
their fronts. But having last week growing, you know, it's
been a long time since our offense played together this year,
between me aj DeVante and Saquon, I think we only
played one game together and that was the first game
of the year and then this playoff game. So just
getting us all back in, figuring out what's going to work,

(22:46):
how we're going to attack the defense, what the defense
is going to do to take away who they want
to and that all plays in effect to it. But
I'm really excited with where we're heading and it's going
to be a fun game on Sunday against the Rams.

Speaker 4 (22:58):
Well, you sort of clapped him last time, and you
got to figure the Rams are gonna make some adjustments
this time, So how do you combat that?

Speaker 9 (23:06):
It'll spend a lot of time in practice and meetings.
The coaches are breaking down the film. Now we'll look
at it. We'll see things that they did against formations
that we bring out, try to give them different looks,
make sure they don't know what we're running. Just kind
of tweak little things like that. But after you win
that first playoff game, it gets really excited. Everybody just
locks in a little bit more because you know each

(23:27):
one you win, you get closer to the main goal.
So I know the team's super excited and we're gonna
be ready going into it.

Speaker 3 (23:33):
It's going to be a tough matchup.

Speaker 9 (23:34):
The Rams are playing really good football at the right time,
and so are we.

Speaker 3 (23:38):
So looking forward to a great matchup. Y, this defense
got a lot better since then.

Speaker 8 (23:42):
Since then, they put up some good numbers defensively. You guys,
almost five hundred yards against those Rams. Last time, Saquon
got to be licking his chops. That was the game
against the Rams where fifty. So they're going to make
adjustments obviously.

Speaker 3 (23:55):
Yeah, for sure.

Speaker 9 (23:57):
Obviously last time they played, Saquon broke the Eagles right record.

Speaker 3 (24:00):
So that was a cool day for all of us.
And we're not going to take that lightly.

Speaker 9 (24:04):
And you know the good thing about our offense is
we can win in so many different ways.

Speaker 3 (24:08):
If they want to load the box and take away Saquon.

Speaker 9 (24:11):
We got two star wide receivers on the outside, and
we have so many different ways to win. And we
got a bunch of unselfished people on the team that
whatever role they're asked of playing that game, they'll do
whatever they decide to take away they can take away.
But we have so many weapons other places that we
can rely on.

Speaker 4 (24:28):
Let me give you some advice, man, Just keep practicing
that stiff farm in the mirror, you know, Yeah, and
keep watching that highlight man.

Speaker 3 (24:33):
Yeah, just keep doing it. I would excite fire it
up all week. I'll be ready to go.

Speaker 8 (24:37):
Not only that, maybe read Inner Excellence. Have you guys
been busting to aj Browns chops at all? Based out
of the whole reading the book thing, that's like the
big story.

Speaker 9 (24:45):
Now, we've joked around with him a little bit. Obviously,
We've seen him do it multiple times. He's done it
when he's had really good games, he does it when
he has bad games.

Speaker 3 (24:52):
It's just something that he does. We have a few.

Speaker 9 (24:55):
People that have been contacting the author of the book.
We're trying to get one for everybody on the team,
and maybe next week you'll see all forty eight of
us on the sideline reading the book.

Speaker 3 (25:06):
So AJ Brawn Book Club, I like it.

Speaker 4 (25:08):
Now, you've had a great season again, Cavino and Rich
here with Dallas Goddard. But Sakoon Barkley had an incredible
season two. Does he get your MVP vote?

Speaker 9 (25:16):
I wish you would have played Week eighteen with me
so we could have got the all time rushing record.
But I'm definitely giving Saquon my MVP vote and him
getting an MVPs. You know what your team award for us,
so you know, I know the old line would give
him the vote to and me being a tight end,
I block for him here and there too. So he
obviously did so many special things this year, things I've

(25:37):
never seen on a football field, So he definitely gets
my vote, and you know, I'd be proud to tell
my kids one day a block form as well.

Speaker 5 (25:45):
Well.

Speaker 8 (25:45):
You're fired up the divisional rounds? What do you do
the night before are you do you have trouble sleeping
or do you sleep like a baby? Like what is
the night before playoff game. Like for Dallas Goddard, it's different.

Speaker 9 (25:55):
You know, I have no problem sleeping before a regular
season game, but before the playoff game games, your mind
races a little bit. Your heart's beating a little bit
faster a couple days before the game. But I just
try to focus on my breath work. I try to
keep myself as calm as I can for as long
as I can, so I don't waste all.

Speaker 3 (26:12):
My energy just thinking about it, being excited for it.

Speaker 9 (26:15):
But yeah, I just sit in the hotel, do my
breath work and just try to relax. Maybe put on
a good movie, something that you can just keep me calm.

Speaker 8 (26:23):
Hey Dallas, we recently saw your Instagram posts about your
struggles with plaquoriasis. Can you tell us about how that
impacts your life as a football player.

Speaker 3 (26:30):
Yeah.

Speaker 9 (26:30):
So, placariasis is an automimmune condition that makes my skin
itchy and scaly. I've been dealing with it since I
was a kid, and sometimes I just want to cover
it up on and off the field so people won't
see my plaques.

Speaker 8 (26:41):
I'm assuming with all the football equipment and gear, that's
tricky for.

Speaker 9 (26:44):
You, especially in the locker room and during summer conditioning,
when the rest of the team have their shirts off,
I'm the one who's going to leave my shirt on,
and then I'm uncomfortable because I'm hot and I'm inchy.

Speaker 4 (26:54):
We also hear you finally found the streament for your
placoriasis that fits your lifestyle.

Speaker 3 (26:58):
You're taking Otela. Can you tell us about it.

Speaker 9 (27:00):
I've tried lots of treatments, and I've been using different
topicals over the years, but they were greasy and felt
so uncomfortable. They were also tough to apply on those
hard to reach places under my gear. I asked my
doctor about other options, and she told me that Otesla
is a pill that might be a better fit for me.

Speaker 8 (27:15):
That is Otesla different from other things you've tried before.

Speaker 3 (27:17):
Topicals only treat the flaky.

Speaker 9 (27:19):
Scaly plaques on my skin, but Oteesla's a pill that
works inside my body where plaque sariasis begins.

Speaker 3 (27:25):
There's no mess, and unlike.

Speaker 9 (27:26):
Topicals, I don't have to worry about getting all greasy
under my gear or sweated.

Speaker 3 (27:30):
It off while I'm playing.

Speaker 9 (27:31):
With Otesla, I can get clear skin after just four months,
and there's no more grease stains on my Jersey.

Speaker 4 (27:36):
Otesla is a prescription medicine used to treat adult patients
with plaqu sariasis, for whom phototherapy or systemic therapy is appropriate.
Otesla can help you get clearer skin after.

Speaker 3 (27:46):
Just four months.

Speaker 8 (27:47):
Don't use otesla if you're allergic to it. Get medical
help right away. If you have trouble breathing or swallowing,
swelling of the face, lips, tongue, throat, or arms, severe diarrhea,
nausea or vomiting, depression, suicidal thoughts or weight loss can happen.
Tell your doctor if any of these occur, and if
you have a history of depression or suicidal thoughts.

Speaker 9 (28:04):
Talking to my doctor about a pill was a total
game changer.

Speaker 8 (28:07):
Sure sounds like a Dallas, thanks for sharing your story
and if any of you listening are dealing with plaquoriasis,
talk to your doctor to see if otesla could be
right for you. Visit otesla dot com for more information
or call one eight four four for Otesla for prescribing info,
info about cost and more. Good luck this weekend divisional round.
Congrats brother, thank you man, thank you all right.

Speaker 1 (28:29):
Great stuff there with Cavino and Rich and Dallas Goddard
and all that. Yeah, I got the Rams in the
Super Bowl. I to say it. I mean, I can't.

Speaker 5 (28:36):
This is the Eagles playing the Bills.

Speaker 1 (28:39):
So you know, I told you before the season I
picked the Rams for the Super Bowl. I'm not going
off of them now. And Hey, the Eagle's got a
lot of stuff going on. And I'll take Sean McVay
over Nick Sirianni, and I'll take Matthew Stafford over Jalen
Hurts when it comes down to it. I feel pretty
good about the Rams, even though they're playing away from
it's going to be called Yeah, yeah, that's fine, that's fine.

(29:00):
Everything'll be fine.

Speaker 2 (29:01):
Dan Cooper got be a hero just for one day. Yeah,
I mean, we're still waiting out our Super Bowl rings.
But I did pick the Eagles before the season. Goddard
in the interview refers to the fact that they didn't
get to play a lot of football together different injuries.
He came back from his from the IR and a
knee injury for Week eighteen and he was the only
guy there looking around going what about me? So looking

different direction, but yeah, sure six eight tight end people
mistake Beaver, Dallas gotter all over the time.

Speaker 1 (29:59):
You have to say you're the guy with the glasses

Speaker 10 (30:02):
That's the yed Ox TIS twenty sure.

Speaker 1 (30:04):
By the way, two twenty one whatever it take.

Speaker 10 (30:06):
Snow is in the forecast for Philadelphia's home game Sunday
against the Rams. The game after that Baltimore at Buffalo

the game with his knee injury, missed another practice today,
missed their wild card game last weekend. The temperature in
Buffalo do to be under twenty degrees for that divisional

(30:27):

Speaker 5 (33:03):

Speaker 1 (33:04):
What a great day for Dawn Staley, great day for
women so making.

Speaker 10 (33:07):
More per year than Roki Sasaki. Let's be honest, ah
way more.

Speaker 1 (33:11):
Roki Sasaki is gonna make more money this year than
show Hey Otani for last year, This year.

Speaker 5 (33:17):
And next year's deferred here christ.

Speaker 1 (33:20):
Wait, thanks a buch Giva. The Jason Smith Show with
Mike Carmon live from Thetirack dot Com Studios. Coming up next.
Uh yeah, we'll give you the Express pros Pro of
the Week. Plus we will pick what I am telling
you was the most difficult football game to pick all
season long. It also happens to be the game of
the year. Who's coming away with a victory between Lamar

(33:42):
and Josh Allen. That's next right here, Jason and Mike
Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 7 (33:50):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Jason Smith
Show with Mike Harmon weekdays at ten pm Eastern, seven
pm Pacific.

Speaker 1 (34:01):
Fox Sports Radio. It is The Jason Smith Show with
my best friend Mike Carmon, live from the tirect dot
Com Studios. Gotta listen to the whole show. Somehow, the
Dodgers getting Roki Sasaki turned into Alex tight shirt playing
a lot of drops in Spanish. I don't know how
it just did.

Speaker 2 (34:22):
Nobody appreciates and welcomes the globe like we do on
the iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 5 (34:28):
And however you consume the show. Damn right, Tucker, We'll.

Speaker 1 (34:37):
Pick the game of the year in the NFL color
Cleveland is not playing in the Game of the Year.
They're allowed to watch the game of the year. And look,
they're Cavs fans. And honestly, everybody in Ohio was worried
about Ohio saying on Monday Night they don't care. I
don't care about the Browns. But it's time to find
out who the Express Pros Pro the Week is. If

(34:57):
you're ready for a new job, let Express Employment perferre
nationals Help. Express is hiring for jobs in a variety
of industries. Job Seekers never pay a fee at Express.
Check out expresspros dot com to find your location. That's
expresspros dot Com. Now time for the Express pros Pro
of the Week. Well, when you win the game for
a Lakers with a last second jumper and you don't

(35:17):
even play for them, you get to be the Express
pros Pro of the Week. Lakers up by one, Nets
have a chance for a huge jump sets and.

Speaker 3 (35:26):
You know the engine to watch this shot. Yes, you guys, D.

Speaker 11 (35:30):
Six deliver Billy Mack still lands Lakers TV.

Speaker 1 (35:43):
Uh, that is your Express pros Pro theeek game winning
shot by D'Angelo Russell, who misses so the Lakers can
win one two one.

Speaker 3 (35:51):
Wow?

Speaker 2 (35:52):
What, I don't know that we've ever played a miss
as the given a guy winner.

Speaker 1 (36:02):
This is a This is Justin Frostburg feeling it on
a night where the Dodgers got Rokie Sosaki.

Speaker 5 (36:07):
It's got a big deal.

Speaker 1 (36:09):
Yeah, that is a heat check Express pros Pro of
the Week from Justin frost.

Speaker 5 (36:19):
On a night where Ben Simmons even played check.

Speaker 1 (36:22):
No, stop stop telling people Ben Simmons played with all
it's not it's not for real. It's a fake basketball
that dribbles up and down. It's not him. It's not him.
Don't worry, it's it's trust me. It's not he's not playing. Uh.
So there you go, Lakers escape by one over the Nets.

Speaker 5 (36:38):
Succeed.

Speaker 1 (36:40):
Uh. The game of the year in the NFL is Sunday,
right for for all the stuff, we got great games
this weekend. I like Houston to upset Kansas City. The
Lions could be one step away from repeat in the
NFC Championship game. Rams in Philadelphia had Dallas Goddard on
the show a few minutes ago. But all that pales
in comparison to Baltimore and Lamar Jackson and Josh Allen

(37:02):
for a birth in the AFC title game. And I
got to be honest with you, Mike, when I was
thinking about this game and picking it and going through everything,
this is the most difficult game I think I had
to pick all year long, because I just keep going
back and forth. I mean, there's no there's nothing that
there was nothing that stood out to me. There was
nothing that, well, this can happen. Even Zay Flowers injury,

(37:23):
I'm like, Okay, I don't know how much that affects
the game. But that got me to where I'm going
with this is that between Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson,
I just can't shake the feeling that this is Lamar
Jackson's year. Right, even without the wide receivers, even without
Jay Flowers, he's been terrific, Even without Ozzie Newsome, he's

(37:44):
been to without without Shannon Sharp, He's been terrific. Right.
He has been able to win when his guys are healthy,
when his guys are not healthy, When Derrick Henry has
a big game running the football, when he doesn't run
the football. He is on that Michael Jordan iPad I
took that thing personally tour and this is the year
that he gets over the hump into the AFC Championship game.

(38:04):
It's now. Look, it's not gonna be easy, right. Like
I said, this is a really tough game for me
to pick. But I have more confidence that when it
comes to it, the Ravens d is going to get
a big stop against Josh Allen more than I see
the Bills being able to stop Lamar Jackson. And it's
not quite gonna be lighting up the scoreboard. There is
gonna be a lot of points. You're also talking about

(38:25):
a late afternoon evening game in Buffalo. But give me
a game that Baltimore pulls out with a Lamar Jackson
big drive, or you get a you get a raven
stopping Josh Allen at a big on a big drive
to set up the Lamar Jackson winner. But I will
take Lamar in this game over Josh Allen Ravens twenty
seven to twenty four.

Speaker 2 (38:44):
The winner will be showered with praise. The loser will
be taunted and booed until my throat is sore. Yes,
that's quote Homer Simpson, the famous ice hockey episode. What's
funny is the weather gets brought up on this one. Yeah,
Baltimore play in the cold people.

Speaker 1 (39:01):
Yeah, people forget that, don't They play in the dome
in Florida. No, No, no, they don't know. It's not that.

Speaker 5 (39:06):
Uh it's kind of cold there.

Speaker 2 (39:08):
Look, I picked Buffalo before the season, so I've got
to stick with them and run it through. Uh.

Speaker 5 (39:13):
It's yeah.

Speaker 2 (39:14):
I've been watching a lot of those wrestling documentaries and
you you've kind of mocked me a little bit for it,
and maybe you're a little worried for me. But you know,
in a little bit of a passing moment of thinking
about this game, it's really a tag team match. It's
Cooking Allen on one side of the ring and led
down the aisle by their.

Speaker 5 (39:31):
Manager John Harbaugh. It's Henry and Lamar Jackson.

Speaker 1 (39:35):
On the other.

Speaker 5 (39:35):
I mean that's what we got. And I think McDermott
can fight dirty.

Speaker 2 (39:39):
So he's in that corner you Harbaugh's and milk and
cookies and play it straight kind of guy on the
other side. I didn't think of mcderbott all white, white,
a little dirt your eye defensive coordinator getting after it.
So looking at the Bills, can do they have enough firepower?

Speaker 5 (39:55):
Is really what it comes down to who can score
the most.

Speaker 2 (40:00):
This is a game that's fifty one and a half
for a total, and the referee crew is to the
under eleven and eleven and three is the record going
to the under in the playoffs with Cheffers and crew.

Speaker 1 (40:13):
I think Scott Foster is on this game. So you
want to be wow, look okay, uh so there you go.

Speaker 5 (40:20):
There are the films. You got the Ravens. It's a
fun one.

Speaker 1 (40:23):
We're on opposite sides of the Game of the Year.
