Do you think we get white labels some uh whatever
tequila and make some money off it whatever tequila?

Speaker 1 (01:11):
Uh? You know, I think here's how long that's been
since we played that? Is that? I think it's now.
I think it's it's too pass. It's too over the
Hey I'm a celebrity, I'm gonna have my own liquor. Like,
I think we're passed that now.

Speaker 3 (01:26):
I think we're on the other I don't need a
billion if we just make a couple of million off
it from just fans of the show globally. Yeah, I
don't think I think.

Speaker 1 (01:34):
I think it would work having your own mescal or
having your own Yeah, no, I don't. I think that was,
you know what, good Like, I think that died out
like like eight or.

Speaker 3 (01:42):
Ten years ago.

Speaker 1 (01:42):
I don't think that happens anymore. I mean, I don't
think that was the biggest thing for a while, like
all the all the big stars were, Hey, you gotta
have my own liquor, have my own tequila, have my
own bourbon. Yeah, Hey, I'm Scottie Pippen. I'm gonna light
my teammates on fire and some Oh wow.

Speaker 3 (01:58):
Look what you did there? Well did he or did
he not do that? Hey, you can't fault a good strategy.
I listen to Scottie, but I really want to buy
some of that bourbon. So all right, let's get if
I got if I gotta listen to it. Look, I
got a bottle of Hennessy. That's got a picture of
Lebron on it. So there you go.

Speaker 1 (02:22):
It's Lebron.

Speaker 3 (02:23):
I'll drink a bottle Hennessy you put on your shelf.
So just let me introduce myself. My name is Harmon,
pronounced with the armond Old ladies. I'll bring you something tomorrow.

Speaker 1 (02:35):
I know. I don't think you need to bring alcohol
into the studio. I think we have enough people doing.
Oh sorry, spoiler, hey.

Speaker 3 (02:43):
Red Wine Friday was the thing back in the day.

Speaker 1 (02:45):
It was it and it was an actual thing. That's
that's what surprises me. It was an actual thing.

Speaker 3 (02:51):
Surprise radio in the nineties. What are you gonna do?
So no, this is two thousand, hey man, I was
trying to do it. Just go with it.

Speaker 1 (03:02):
That's one of my favorite. One of my favorite shows
in the past fifteen years was The Grinder, which was
Fred Savage plays a guy who's his brother is Rob Low,
and Fred Savage is a lawyer, and William Devane is
his dad and he's a lawyer. And Rob Low is
this huge actor that finishes a run on a show
where he plays a lawyer and he moves back home

(03:23):
because he's upset his show got canceled, right, And that's
the that's the gist of the show. And it's really
it's hysterical. It was only one season, but it was.
It was so good. It was it was a lampooning
of Hollywood.

Speaker 3 (03:36):
It was really funny.

Speaker 1 (03:36):
Well, there was this one scene where Rob Loow's Rob
Loow and Fred Savage's dad, William Devane was getting deposed
in court and the whole big thing was that they
were drinking a lot in the office and that was
a whole thing. And the lawyer says, uh, you know,
so tell me about what went on. He goes, well,
you know, there was a lot of drinking and a
lot of and a lot of partying and a lot

(03:57):
of you know, you know, things that happened, things that
are said, things that went on. But you know, that
was the time. And the lawyer says, it was two
thousand and eight. He's expecting some like it was the sixties,
like it was mad mad It was two thousand and eight.
And I'm thinking there, yeah, red wine fry, Okay, red
wine fry, not too long, okay, all right, a little

(04:18):
bit after that, red wine fry.

Speaker 3 (04:19):
By the way, over under the number of times Devane
played a member of the Kennedy family.

Speaker 1 (04:24):
Go ooh oh, yeah, oh Man seven eight Yeah.

Speaker 3 (04:29):
I walked through it through the IMDb later and really verify.
It just always seemed there was a television movie of the.

Speaker 1 (04:35):
Week, and you know what he could do better than anybody,
any actor ever, chew gum and act like I can't
tell you how many scenes where he would just get
me mad at like part of the you know, part
of his cart being mad at somebody, but he was
chewing gum while he was doing it. Yeah, yeah, what
do you think about that, like in their face chewing
gumb Like, boy, I don't want to punch him in
the face. He chews gum and yells great.

Speaker 3 (04:55):
That was William Devane. Man punch him in the face.
In the face.

Speaker 1 (04:59):
So we talked about Sam Donald a few minutes ago,
and I upset the Vikings fan bases with me.

Speaker 3 (05:04):
Fine, I hate you.

Speaker 1 (05:05):
Yeah, that's okay. I have big shoulders. I could take
ad how about a fresca. But let's turn this a
different way. Yeah, because now that we've seen almost all
the quarterback side, we're still waiting on Aaron Rodgers and
Russell Wilson with more on them later on this hour.
Who can be the Sam Darnold of twenty twenty five,
someone who had had a chance to start, oh flamed out.

(05:29):
Maybe nobody thought they could be a starter again. Maybe
they were a backup for a little while. I got
I got a good one. Hey as it will. Hey,
let me finish setting the table? Can you wait until
you would be awful on Jeopardy? You gotta wait until
I ask the question? Damn? Yeah, yeah, harmon, you have
zero points? Why is that? Because you've tried to answer
every question before I've asked it. We're throwing one morning,

(05:52):
We're throwing you out.

Speaker 3 (05:53):
Stop holding the final syllable. Jennings.

Speaker 1 (05:57):
This famous quarterback who is Aaron Rodgers?

Speaker 3 (06:00):
What?

Speaker 1 (06:00):
No, get him out? Get him out? Get someone who hey,
everybody had cut bait on him, he had failed a
couple of places. Who can come back and be the
Sam Dartle of twenty twenty five, where in a new destination,
new team they can put up big numbers and maybe
be a solution to quarterback. Now before I tell you mine,
go ahead, harmin since you so eloquently wanted to buzz in, yeah,

(06:23):
go ahead, and now you can buzz in now.

Speaker 3 (06:25):
There's a rumor that Mason Rudolph may return to the Steelers.

Speaker 1 (06:33):
You know what, you.

Speaker 3 (06:34):
Didn't think I was going there? I zagged you.

Speaker 1 (06:38):
But wow, what were you gonna call me?

Speaker 3 (06:39):
There? You Dirney filthy?

Speaker 1 (06:42):
Look up you you held up on the swing just barely.

Speaker 3 (06:47):
Hey, hey, no, no, no, I didn't even get out
at the beginning of my I didn't get at the
beginning of any syllable out there. I just let it.
It was a dangling participle.

Speaker 1 (06:57):
And I was just about to say, on further of
you jumped in with that early. I like a good
Mason Rudolph story. But the guy is Daniel Jones. Okay.
We we talked last week about how as time went on,
as we got closer to the beginning of free agency,
Donald Justin Fields and Daniel Jones would become really sought after.

(07:17):
Why because the dust settling after the combine, after the
after you see the rookies throw, the quarterbacks throw, and
you meet with them in Indianapolis all of a sudden, well,
we don't really like this crop a free agents. Go
wait a minute, we really don't really really don't like
the crop of college guys. They're all the best guys
are all players that are going to be developmental players

(07:39):
like a Kyle mccorder or Jackson Dart, Jalen Milroe or
Quinn Ewers. Oh maybe let's let's go back to these
free to these free agents, these guys that have actually
done a little bit of something in the NFL, and
we told you their three values would skyrocket. Sure enough,
Day one of free agency, Sam Donald one hundred and
ten million dollars justin fields forty million dollars thirty million
guaranteed to the Jets, and today Daniel Jones to the

(08:01):
Indianapolis Colts where he is going to battle it out
with Anthony Richardson to be the starting quarterback. Now, first
things first, the culture in a win win position right here,
because if Daniel Jones never sees the field, it means
that Anthony Richardson has got it and they drafted them
to be the franchise quarterback. But after two seasons of
diminishing returns and inability to stay healthy, he is entering

(08:24):
his last chance. So if he gets it, great because
the guy is as talented as anybody that's come into
the league. Right, but you got to put it together
right in the words Jerry Glanville. Everybody comes into the
league with talent, but everybody's got to bring something else
to the party if they want to stand out. Right,
He's got to find a way to stay on the field.
He's got to find a way to continue to as
improve his adjustment to the NFL game geometrically instead of

(08:49):
baby steps right, because he's had those first two years
have not gone well. So if this happens, great, But
there's no way the Colts signed Daniel Jones thinking he's
going to be their backup. They know at some point
he's going to play. And the thing is with this offense,
the Colts offense is really good. You got a couple
of good running backs, led by Jonathan Taylor, who's a

(09:10):
top five running back in the game. You have four
good wide receivers. Michael Pittman is fantastic, Josh Downs is
one of the best young receivers in the league. Alec
Pierce has big games every four or five games. Mitchell
they drafted him last year, expected him to come in
and be a little bit better.

Speaker 3 (09:27):
But it was a little bit slow for him.

Speaker 1 (09:29):
But still when you have a crowded wide receiver room
like that, that's gonna happen. Your offense is terrific. The
defense is not very good, but they've been trying to
fix a little bit in free agency. But the thing
for Daniel Jones is this division is not very good,
and as long as he can find the playmakers to
get the football too, he is not going to struggle.

(09:49):
It's the same thing Sam Darnold walked into in Minnesota. Hey,
we signed the running back we think is going to
be able to take the pressure off of you. Awesome
our offensive line, we feel pretty good. We have the
weapons at wide, receiver and tight don't worry about that.
Things are awesome here. Yeah, and Sam Donald went nuts
when he had trouble everywhere else he had been. Daniel
Jones flashed a little bit with the Giants over the

(10:10):
course his first couple of years of his career, but
gets run out of New York because it happens.

Speaker 3 (10:14):
That's how it goes.

Speaker 1 (10:15):
But this is a great opportunity for him outside of
that spotlight. With a loaded offense. He beats out Anthony Richardson,
which likely he's going to He's going to play at
some point, and he can have that Sam Donald type year,
maybe even a better year because he's a little bit
more of a dual threat quarterback than you want to
give him credit for. Because remember he's kind of a

(10:35):
Josh Allen light like he's he makes big plays with
his legs. He can do that. If you're looking for
who the next Sam Donald for twenty twenty five is,
I'll give you Daniel Jones every day of the week.

Speaker 3 (10:46):
Yeah, Like, as you said that, someone was looking for
the gift of him with that long run where he
ended up falling down. Yeah, he's so.

Speaker 1 (10:53):
How many people lost their fantasy game that week because
Daniel Jones just fell down to the fifteen.

Speaker 3 (10:57):
He's gonna score, He's got Oh no he did, Yeah
he didn't. Yeah. Look, you've got an offense there. I
am concerned that you lost two members of your offensive line,
including your center Ryan Kelly, to Minnesota that that's not good,
but all the skill position guys are there, and obviously
Taylor is still one of your top backs. I'm optimistic

(11:18):
that that you get some positivity out of Jones. Do
I necessarily think that you're getting world beating from one
or the other he or Richardson in this well, No,
and you may end up running into the old if
you have two quarterbacks, you don't have one scenario if
this plays in its worst form. But with Richardson, we
we've seen flashes. Even if he no matter how poor

(11:42):
he's played, no matter how poorly he's played here these
first two years, every once in a while there's a
sequence where he's just like, yeah, that's why you drafted
him where you did, right, Just what we saw in
college when we were watching his games together in the
studio and looking at it to the marveling at you know,
the athleticism and the arm and the throws, and then
at the same point waiting for the next possession and going,

(12:05):
my god, what did I just see? Hey, Daniel Jones
had some of those two So yeah, then two sides
of the same coin in that regard. But athletic ability
to run. We'll see how much that's changed for Jones
and the wake of the number of injuries he sustained
to where maybe he's got the advice of just go
the hell down please, So maybe a little of that

(12:27):
has been lost after the neck injury and the other
things that have sidelined him and kept him off the field,
and we can dare say really limited his upside at times,
not just the lack of weapons in the New York
Football Giants offense, but he got a year with O'Connell.
There was some speculation we did it talking Bucky Brooks

(12:49):
and I and I've mentioned it on the show before,
but the audience always changing that he was wondering aloud
if maybe he would just be the Sam Darnold two
point zero in Minnesota with the chance, hey, if McCarthy's
not ready, or if he gets hurt or physically isn't
ready to go, that you had a guy that was
in the system half a year plus a full offseason

(13:10):
would still be able to be kept on the cheap.
But obviously you had more guarantees, an opportunity coming from
the Colts, and an opportunity to take what you learn
from O'Connell and apply it to the stike in offense.
I don't know, it could be a lot worse. I mean,
we look around the division Jacksonville as so much as
we cheer for and want to see that quote unquote

(13:30):
generational guy Trevor Lawrence succeed anything reason to believe that
they will. Now they purged a lot of talent. Houston
gutted their offensive line. But in Stroud we trust so
like they're at the head of that division. Tennessee trying
to do a full reclamation project and reboot, so not
expecting great things there. That leaves us with the Colts

(13:53):
almost by default here, Jason. So the opportunity for your
Daniel Jones prediction wearing that suresey that you love so much,
is going to be there.

Speaker 1 (14:03):
And you know, listen, you mentioned Stikeen really quick. Okay,
keep bringing over the Sikens offense. Don't forget that. You know,
Shane Stikeen was one of the big young offensive minds
in the NFL until he got the gig with the
Colts and he gets a job with the Colts and
he kind of were off the NFL radar for a
little bit, but you know, he really ran some fantastic
offenses and that's how we got the gig. And now

(14:25):
you have Daniel Jones in another quarterback friendly system like
we look. Dable was a quarterback guy, but it just
didn't it didn't work out for him, but he still
flashed in that system with Brian Dable. So now here
you are the different a different chance to do it
with another quarterback friendly head coach. Now he's in a
great spot. He's in a great spot for it. Man,
if he if he can get back to being the

(14:46):
guy that he was when he came into the league.
I mean, this is this could be a Sam Darnold
type years and at the end of the year, we're
talking about do you keep Daniel Jones?

Speaker 3 (14:53):
Do you keep Anthony Richardson? What are you doing?

Speaker 1 (14:55):
We're having this conversation about these two guys a year
from today, you know, on March March eleventh, next year,
we're having this conversation, except with Jones and with Anthony Richardson.

Speaker 3 (15:05):
So I'm gonna screenshot the text we've been sending back
and forth and then we'll just replay it and I'll
read them verbatim.

show and the best of version posted right after we
get off the air. Now, day two of NFL Free
agency in the books, and really day three is what's left.
We still have a you know, big name players that
potentially could wind up changing teams. Evan Ingram now doing

(16:29):
the visits. Visited the Broncos yesterday, the Chargers today. You
still got Stefan Diggs and Keenan Allen and Nick Chubb
and JK. Dobbins and Maari Cooper. Tyler Lockett still has
some big names on there. We'll get to the quarterbacks
coming up in a few minutes, but two big hot
takes after two days, and I don't think anything that
happens in the next day is going to change either

(16:49):
of these things. You have watched the end of the
era of the forty nine ers, This era that we've
seen the last three plus years where they are one
of the most talent, tented rosters in the NFL and
a yearly big time heavy super Bowl favorite. That era
is over right, It's not bad. It's what we thought

(17:09):
would happen this year. Following their offseason a year ago,
the forty nine Ers decided, all right, we have a
lot of guys that want to get paid, a lot
of guys we can't pay after this year. What do
we do, Hey, we load up, we bring everybody back,
and let's pay him for this year and we'll figure
it all out after this season. Right, great strategy, hoping
that you're coming off the Super Bowl when guys are

(17:31):
leaving because you can't afford anybody. Didn't work that way
for the Niners. They had a lot of injuries. It
turns out their window was closed a lot sooner. So
what happened The Niners had to wave goodbye to a
lot of players We saw the trade of Deebo Samuel
last weekend. They lost Elijah Mitchell and Banks and Shavarius
Ward to the Colts and Drake Gleek Greenwad of the Broncos,

(17:52):
which is one of the biggest moves in all of
free agency. And it's just been an absolute exodus of
players and US check today or yesterday rather as well.
His wife was very emotional today talking about saying farewell
to a guy's been to the Pro Bowl. Like nine
times Leonard Floyd gets released, he gets signed right away, Hargrave,

(18:13):
let go. And what the Niners have done is they've
brought in Luke Farrell as a tight end. So okay,
well what does that mean for George Kittle? Right, you
have seen their bills question Right, Yeah, there's still the
big purge to go because you still have You had
a lot of guys making over fifteen million dollars a
year next year.

Speaker 3 (18:30):
Last year, you.

Speaker 1 (18:31):
Didn't have enough money to get Joey Bosa. You figure
this is gonna be the cosmetic move that makes everybody happy. Hey,
Bosa and Bosa, we're here at San Francisco. No, they
came up almost four million dollars short of the Bills
who signed Joey Bosa tonight for one year and twelve
and a half million. This tells you the state of
the forty nine ers and their era is over. They

(18:52):
have to pay brock party. The Brocolypse is coming either
at some time this year or at the very latest
next year. So suddenly getting these big players and is
gonna be more difficult. And so for the Niners to
suddenly think their Super Bowl favorites again gonna be a
little while on. That not gonna be this year, maybe
not next year. Look, you have quarterback you love, right,
Purty is great. Christian McCaffrey's getting a little older. Hasn't

(19:15):
always been the most healthy guys. Obviously. Yeah, it kind
of sucks. But this era of dominance of the forty
nine ers, they're gonna have to find a way to pivot,
and it's gonna be a bit before they get back.
They can wind up finishing last in the NFC West
this year, right, I mean, you got the Rams at
the top. The Cardinals are getting better, they're improving. The

(19:35):
Seahawks are gonna try something new with Sam Darnell, but
no DK Metcalf. Okay, still trying to figure out what
they want to do. But you have a lot of
talent that is leaving the building in San Francisco, and
there's not enough coming back in. And when last year
was about injuries and falling short, you don't suddenly just
get back to being a Super Bowl contender when you
have to pivot like this.

Speaker 3 (19:54):
Yeah, I think the curiosity to it is, you know
you're making this switch, and now you have to finally
pay brock Purty and what is his value? Right? That's
the big argument that we've had all along is where
does he fit in this giant continuum? How much of
last year, with all the injuries, was a referendum on

(20:15):
what his ceiling truly is from being the celebrated mister
irrelevant to everybody's darling and the next great thing in
San Francisco. When you subtract McCaffrey, you have injuries to
so many of the other players. You lose Ayayuk for
the year, pierceal doesn't get to play the first part
of the year because of the incident and the shooting. Again,

(20:39):
it just feels weird to say that, Yeah, and then
he played and then he played well, So you've got
the next iteration of those receivers you mentioned Farrell coming
in well for George Kittle. He's got one year left
and they were really good friends with the US checks.
So what happened? You had a bunch of that on
social media as well, and he's been spotted at every

(20:59):
w WE event I think for like the last month
and a half. Okay exaggerated, but it's been at least
a couple of appearances there. So how much is it
like I'm just doing free agency tour kind of thing
while I'm at it too, checking out other cities. So
do you get rid of him? You know what's the
asking price? Because he's one of your top tight ends.
Is another contender maybe in the AFC looking to add

(21:24):
a tight end that will give you the requisite relief
of your cap, but also you know something else you
can do and keep building in the draft. Trent Williams,
another year older injury, had the personal issues right he
had he and his wife had lost lost a child.
So all of that weight on the locker room and
certainly him and the offensive line was averaged a subpar

(21:48):
You've lost half of your starters from the Super Bowl
of just a couple of years ago. Elijah Mitchell is
now a member of the Kansas City Chiefs and go
on down the line. So a bit of a re
you know. I keep wishing and hoping that Arizona plays well,
you know, new Blood, And anytime there's a guy that's
closer to my height than most of the average of

(22:10):
the league, I get excitable. So Kyler Murrie, I cheer
for him at every turn, Go little man, make it happen.
But you know, Seattle, we don't know. Which is a
great curiosity, and I think we both think the world
of what the Rams at least are on paper right
now with Stafford upright and ready to go. So all

(22:31):
of that to say, for San Francisco, as the NFC
gets better, you regress immediately because you lost a lot
of that institutional knowledge, all of that experience that you've
been relying on. And you got brock Purdy that it's
really going to be on his shoulders, truly for the

(22:52):
first time, because you've always been able to caveat it
out as well. He's not making any money and he
was an also rand guy. Look at him, and now
he's gotta be be the man.

Speaker 1 (23:03):
Yeah, I mean, this is this is now gonna be
this is all the pressure in the world on Brock Purty,
who goes from what a great story.

Speaker 3 (23:10):
No, he's great. He's a great quarterback.

Speaker 1 (23:12):
He's gonna have his defenders to, Hey, you gotta earn
this money, man, you gotta you gotta suddenly be the
guy that we didn't think you were, that you that
you know you gotta throw forty touchdowns a year. Man,
if you think this is gonna work, like, this is
a lot of pressure gonna be put on Purty because
he has succeeded when his roster was completely loaded, right, Like,
that's when perty's been good. Yeah, it's a completely loaded

(23:33):
roster with a peaking Deebo Samuel and Brandon Ayuk and
and and Kittle and and and McCaffrey. And yeah, he's
been great when he's had great players around him. Guess what,
not as many great players around him anymore. And I
mean it, this is the it's the end of the
era of the night. You're gonna see familiar faces. It's good.
But this whole dominance they've had the last three years, Yeah,

(23:54):
that window was closed, man, it was just closing.

Speaker 3 (23:56):
Well, now it's his job to make these guys great.
So you know, the old quarterback has to be able
to elevate the talent around. We watch Patrick Mahomes as
much as people want to go and try to tear
down his year. Look at the final stats for the season. Uh,
and yes they're not the pinball numbers. But they still
won a hell of a lot of games, right, still

(24:18):
elevated guys and made plays when it mattered. It's time
for brock Party to show that he can do the same. Obviously,
I'm not equating him with the dynastic run that the
Chiefs have been on, but forty nine ers for the
NFC side of adjacent every year it's been all right,
presumptive NFC title game or bust. And then last year,

(24:39):
I mean they rolled snake guys at every turn.

Speaker 1 (24:42):
What surprising team can also finish last in their division
this year? Oh we got that hot take coming up next.
But now, Tom, in the wide world of sports, I
can't even.

Speaker 3 (24:56):
Cleveland absolutely especially last.

Speaker 1 (24:59):
It's not a surprise shock complutely finishing last, absolutely last?

Speaker 3 (25:03):
Yes, hey, hey, can you Pickett is there?

Speaker 4 (25:07):
But guess who we're leading with in this report? Oh,
there you go, Because it's an NBA story. Cavaliers were
down eighteen early in the third quarter and still beat
Brooklyn one oh nine one oh four, the Brooklyn team
that had lost seven in a row until they beat
the Lakers last night. Cleveland has won fifteen in a

(25:28):
row thanks to this comeback. In a game where Donovan
Mitchell did not play out with a groin injury, Darius
Garland scored thirty points want to finish at Indiana. Pacers
over Milwaukee won fifteen to one fourteen. Tyrese Haliburton, returned
after missing three straight games with a strained hip, had
the game winning four point play with under four seconds left.
Halliburton also with ten assists just one turnover. Detroit over

(25:52):
Washington won twenty three one oh three. Wizard's record thirteen
and fifty one. New Orleans got a triple double from
Zion Williamson and beat the cliff One twenty seven to
one twenty. Philadelphia's Tyres Maxie will miss another game Wednesday
with a back sprain and fingersprain. Trey Young of the
Hawks questionable. He missed last game with the Bruce Quad.
Oklahoma City's Jalen Williams out tomorrow with a hip injury.

(26:14):
Golden States Jonathan Minga plans to return on Thursday. He
missed about two months with a bad ankle. There were
four conference finals in men's college hoops. Gonzaga in Vegas
won the West Coast Conference, beating nineteenth ranks Saint Mary's
fifty eight fifty one. Saint Mary's had had just one
loss in the conference season, but went oh for sixteen

(26:34):
from three point range tonight Colonial Tournament to UNC Williamton
William Wilmington, I should say, and Robert Morris, the Horizon
League winner. I'm just still distracted that Saint Francis PA
is going to the NCAA tournament.

Speaker 5 (26:50):
I'm looking at this record. Yeah, it's true.

Speaker 4 (26:52):
They're sixteen and seventeen onto the first four forty six
forty three winner at Central Connecticut htcrcis.

Speaker 1 (27:01):
They only care about the postseason tournament. That's all. That's
all you got to worry about that.

Speaker 3 (27:04):
That's fine.

Speaker 5 (27:05):
They do say that, yes, every year, but no, they
don't say that at all. We've got they're.

Speaker 3 (27:10):
Trying to put it into existence.

Speaker 1 (27:12):
It's like, fetch Saint Francis is the red flash, that
is that they are the red flash.

Speaker 4 (27:17):
You know, unlike a certain team in Illinois, that had
a certain Catholic supporter that was kind of good luck
for them. Perhaps Saint Francis might have a certain supporter.
As we head toward postseasons.

Speaker 1 (27:31):
I'm trying to look for who the most brings the
animals together. Alumni from Saint Francis.

Speaker 5 (27:36):
Is in the Pennsylvania one.

Speaker 3 (27:38):
That's tough.

Speaker 1 (27:39):
Yeah, yeah, not Saint Francis of ASSISI No, Saint Francis University.

Speaker 3 (27:42):
No, it's what I'm looking for.

Speaker 1 (27:44):
Oh, Scott Layden, there you go.

Speaker 3 (27:46):
Scott Laydon is your most famous alumni.

Speaker 5 (27:48):
There you congratulations, that's the most famous alum.

Speaker 1 (27:51):
Yeah, it's I'm telling you man, it's tough.

Speaker 5 (27:54):
You're not kidding.

Speaker 1 (27:55):
First you read Tod's Piertrowski.

Speaker 3 (27:58):
Author No I all cou No.

Speaker 4 (28:01):
First four games are March eighteenth and nineteenth in Dayton,
by the way, coming up March eighteenth and nineteenth, the
baseball openers in Tokyo next week. Cubs and Dodgers on
Fox TV for the first game, then on FS one
for the second games at six am Eastern time. Cubs
lost their spring training game to Milwaukee nine to seven.

(28:21):
The lost to Justin Steele. Cubs are flying overseas tonight
Dodgers will fly over there tomorrow. Dodgers have a couple
exhibitions there each on Saturday our time, they beat Cleveland
and Arizona ten to for today winning pitcher Roki Sasaki
with four scoreless innings the Buffalo.

Speaker 1 (28:37):
Will they play Saint Francis as well in an exhibition
over there.

Speaker 4 (28:40):
I have confidence that the Dodgers in any sport, could
beat Save Francis and Pennsylvania.

Speaker 3 (28:45):
I got a couple of people from Saint Francis. Okay,
got a notable almni yes number one, Charles Schwab.

Speaker 5 (28:51):
Oh well, we're not on the list.

Speaker 1 (28:53):
Hey wait a minute, I have done, I have done.
Oh okay, it's tax time.

Speaker 5 (28:58):
How did you not get that.

Speaker 1 (29:00):
Miss Charles Schwab?

Speaker 3 (29:01):
What about normal van Lear? Because he died.

Speaker 1 (29:04):
That's why.

Speaker 5 (29:05):
Okay, all right, exactly go Dorman.

Speaker 1 (29:09):
Yeah, uh, he is not on my list.

Speaker 3 (29:13):
Paul Boyton, known as the Fearless Frogman.

Speaker 1 (29:18):
Gim me, I mean the author, inventor and member of
the International Swimming Hall of Fame.

Speaker 3 (29:23):
Is that is right?

Speaker 1 (29:25):
And this is a ryo about Saint Francis off the
top of my head, like this is all age seventy
six Frogman.

Speaker 5 (29:31):
This is not an Alpacino reference, by the way.

Speaker 3 (29:33):
Frogman flowing up fingernails. See In Saint.

Speaker 4 (29:37):
Francis, Rycues won its first round ACC tournament game and not.

Speaker 3 (29:41):
The last game good luck.

Speaker 4 (29:43):
SMU defeated Florida State sixty six sixty two, noted am
Age Pit fifty five fifty four, and col won in
double overtime against Virginia Tech. And finally we did have
Buffalo signing defensive end Joey Bosa and the Ravens agreed
to a one year deal with wide recei DeAndre Hopkins.

Speaker 3 (30:01):
Back to you, Thank you, Steve. I appreciate you, Steve.

Speaker 1 (30:05):
Uh So we more about Saint Francis.

Speaker 3 (30:08):
See, we got some of that in. So there you go.
We we got to make it. Hey, did you see
the the foul before before we continue the follow at
the end of that Notre Dame game. What did you think? Oh? Yeah, follow,
no foul, no fell See And you said that all
I was doing is trying to look at what the nil.

Speaker 1 (30:27):
Situation was for Saint Francis, Like, wow, what's their nil stuff?

Speaker 3 (30:33):
Well, you saw what I showed you from the collective
for Saint John's they're sewing.

Speaker 1 (30:38):
Uh sweater cards from Louse Carna second fro. This is it, man,
Saint John's has never been I been this hot in
forty years. Come on, man, this is crazy. Uh.

Speaker 3 (30:48):
So hey one more.

Speaker 1 (30:50):
Big hot take off of Day two of NFL free agency.

Speaker 4 (30:54):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (30:54):
The Dolphins might finish last in the AFC East. They
might finish last. This is a division the Bills are
still gonna own. The Dolphins have taken such a step
back in just over a year's time from their up
and coming Mike McDaniel's a great young head coach. Look
how fast the Dolphins offense runs and now it's they've

(31:18):
lost so much talent in the last calendar year. All
the company, well, they're gonna have a lot of compensation picks,
so that's good. But boy, another team that has lost
so much talent and not replace it. They are so
thin you worry about to his injury history, obviously, Tyreek
Hill is happy, not happy. Devon a Chen was not
the guy he was a year ago. The Dolphins could

(31:39):
finish last because both the Jets and the Patriots have improved.
People forget a year ago. At this time, the Jets
were a super Bowl favorite because their roster. Right, They've
lost guys the first day of free agency that are
older guys that they were counting on last year. Okay, yes,
they lost some players who were really talented, but the

(32:00):
or this team is really young. They have a lot
of talent on both sides of the ball. That's twenty three,
twenty four, twenty five, twenty six years old. And you know,
I'm telling you the truth. How I feel about the
Patriots offensively, I don't know how much better they're gonna be,
but wow, this defense is gonna be great. They have
spent a ton of money the first day and a
half of free agency. They brought in guys that will
fit with Mike Rabel's scheme, guys and he's been familiar

(32:22):
with from his time in Tennessee. I know how good
this Patriots defense is gonna be. This is a Dolphins
team that's not nearly brought in the losses they've had.
They're very thin. They could easily finish last in the
AFC East and it might not even be a it
might even be a hot take by the time the
season gets here.

Speaker 3 (32:40):
Well, what happens if Tua goes down. I'm gonna point
to you Zach Wilson. Zach, there you go exactly, and
you don't have to worry about Hassan Reddick this year either.
Buddy's going to Tampa so that he's got that going
for you too.

Speaker 1 (32:54):
Yeah, I sent my my one of my best friends
is a Dolphins fan, and I that I sent him
a picture of Zach Wilson photoshopped in a Dolphin uniform.
Just sit with the caption. He'll be starting for you
by week two.

Speaker 3 (33:07):
Oh no, he was not. He was.

Speaker 1 (33:11):
He was Let's say, he was just not happy. He was.
He was just not happy that I sent that to him.
And I said, no, No, I don't mean. I just mean, like,
you know, something's gonna happen. He's gonna be starting by
week two. I'm just saying, you know it's gonna Hey,
at least hey, Zach Wilson's mom will be a lot
of fun. So you're gonna have that.

Speaker 3 (33:26):
In Miami with their friends. Oh, that's a reality show, buddy.
Forget about hard knocks, blake that, let's go.

Speaker 1 (33:34):
Why do you think he signed with Miami. He'sa come mom,
I got your reality show five.

Speaker 3 (33:38):
The greatest thing and hang out with the Cavender Twins.
I mean, this is gonna be awesome. I'm never gonna
see the field again. But I got your reality show.

Speaker 1 (33:45):
Okay, So congratulations, Yes, exit.

Speaker 3 (33:48):
Out about a Fresco Swallen Dome.

Speaker 1 (33:50):
Jason Smith Mike Harmon live from the tire rack dot
Com Studios. Coming up next the two NFL players. I
just feel sad for so far in free agency? Do
we tell you who they are?

Speaker 3 (34:01):
That's next? Jason to Mike Fox.

Speaker 2 (34:04):
Better not be DK Metcalf.

Speaker 1 (34:06):
I'm looking for more people who went to Saint Francis
right now, tyshow, I don't have time for it.

Speaker 5 (34:09):
To DK Mtcalf.

Speaker 4 (34:11):
No, then I don't.

Speaker 3 (34:12):
Let me look hang on, then I don't care. Wait
wait check o one time?

Hey No.

Speaker 3 (34:29):
Yo. But before we get to.

Speaker 1 (34:32):
The players, I feel sorry for so yeah an NFL
free agency?

Speaker 3 (34:36):
Am I one of them? Now? No?

Speaker 1 (34:38):
No, this, this this is what a Northwestern education gets you.

Speaker 3 (34:42):
Okay.

Speaker 1 (34:43):
A few minutes ago, we were talking about Saint Francis
Pennsylvania qualifies for the NCAA Tournament sixteen and seventeen. Right,
we went through all the famous people. I said, there's
hardly any famous people here. The most famous person Scott
Laden You go, oh Smith, you missus Charles M. Schwab,
Charles Schwab Investments. How'd you missed that? You are talking
about Charles M. Schwab who was an American steel dude

(35:06):
who died in nineteen thirty nine.

Speaker 3 (35:09):
Charles R.

Speaker 1 (35:10):
Schwab is the steel mag oh, the Charles Schwab Corporation,
charl Schwab invest money. You had the completely wrong Charles Schwab.

Speaker 3 (35:18):
Well, you know, I missed the I missed the note
that he's still a steel magnate, so that's still kind
of a big deal.

Speaker 2 (35:28):
I'm so sorry.

Speaker 3 (35:30):
I'll take the l but damnit, he was still one
of the most important people in the construction of our country.

Speaker 1 (35:36):
I really want to call Charles M. Schwab against the
financial advice. Well that's a tough call. Did he not
almost Bethlehem Steel the greatness? You gotta have some my
economic acumen for that Bethlehem Steel Like it's like Bethlehem
Steel was a football team. He led them to greatness
back of the upset Notre Dame in the Cotton Bowl
in nineteen forty one. It didn't happen?

Speaker 3 (35:58):
Didn't happen? Charles Bethlehem's ship building in steel, no wonder.
It was the development of the h bead harmon. How
are you broke the I followed the advice of Charles M.

Speaker 1 (36:09):
Schwab. Now my money's in steel and I can't get
it OUTA wait for it.

Speaker 3 (36:13):
In nineteen eleven, Bethlehem Steel formed a company soccer team
known as Bethlehem Steel F Seed. Three years later, Schwab
took the team professional until its demise in nineteen thirty.
The team won eight league championship, six American Cups, and
five Nationals. Hey you gotta get it, back to sports.
Considered among the greatest soccer teams in US history. The
company disbanded the team as a result of financial losses

(36:36):
incurred in the twenty eight to twenty nine quote unquote
soccer wars between the American Soccer League and the United
States Football Association and the onset of the Great Depression.

Speaker 1 (36:47):
See that's back when soccer only had three people on
the side. It was a keeper, a striker and a defender.
That's all you have. We'll take that.

Speaker 3 (36:54):
Early days of soccer, during the first years of World
War One, Bethlehem Steel had a virtual monopoly in just
supply the allies with the initis.

Speaker 1 (37:03):
Okay, dude, do a book us say us say, do
a book? Report on it?

Speaker 3 (37:07):
Presented in English tomorrow morning on Charles M.

Speaker 1 (37:10):
Schwab.

Speaker 3 (37:10):
Okay, the differences between Charles R.

Speaker 1 (37:13):
Versus Charles M. Schwab. Who you got eight seven seven
ninety nine. It's a good battle. How important is steal
to our country?

Speaker 3 (37:21):
Boy?

Speaker 1 (37:21):
Let's go so uh? The two players that I honestly
feel bad for me. You love this story, don't you?
H The two players I feel bad for, I just
feel sad for. And it's weird because you think, like,
why do you feel bad for them?

Speaker 3 (37:36):
So far?

Speaker 1 (37:36):
I feel bad. I just feel sadness for Aaron Rodgers
and Russell Wilson because these are guys where we want
to talk about their career the last couple of years.
These are Hall of Fame players. Aaron Rodgers is one
of the top five quarterbacks that I've ever seen. And yeah,
the last two years were rough. He misses a year
he plays well in the back half of the year,
but he is especially I feel bad for Rogers because

(37:59):
he is just openly begging for a job. And this
is not how future Hall of Famers go out. They
go out with dignity and and and they're head held high.
And here are Rogers and Wilson just trying to keep
the game going one more time. Well, I just keep
keep it going, Rogers saying, look, I'll do anything. I'll
I'll stay with the Jets, please, I'll stay with it.

(38:20):
I mean, that's enough to beg to stay with the Jets.
But I'll mentor somebody. I'll be a bridge quarterback, Like, dude,
you're Aaron bleeping Rogers. Man.

Speaker 3 (38:28):
If it's over, it's over.

Speaker 1 (38:29):
And and the end is just gonna be sad and
embarrassing for both of these guys because they're just trying
to hold on for one more bite. Hey, I'm sorry,
you had your chance. You guys both played into your
mid thirties, early late thirties, early forties. But it's kind
of over. I mean, it's embarrassing. Even if they wind
up getting to the Steelers or the Giants to go
to the Steelers, a chance to win games if the Giants. Wow,

(38:51):
they're terrible, but just the way they're they're out and
just begging waiting at the end for scraps, watching Daniel
Jones get signed before and watching Justin Fields get signed
before them. It's just embarrassing to see for these two.

Speaker 3 (39:05):
Yeah, I mean, as we watched it unfold, right, you
talk about age performance, Rogers uneven better down the stretch,
but two games kind of as we've talked about, help
the stats, they don't take them away. But look, Steelers
are still on the board. That's a pretty good spot
for either of them based on what their their best

(39:25):
attributes are in terms of putting the ball with accuracy
and putting it up down field, something they can both do.
So I'm not feeling too terrible. I mean for you, you're
okay with the Aaron Rodgers side of it. You know,
the begging, there's some fun to be had with that.
With Russell, I mean that means we won't get high

(39:46):
knees anymore. Yeah, No, high knees.

Speaker 1 (39:49):
At thirty thousand feet it's gonna be tough to get.

Speaker 3 (39:51):
I mean, that's tough, right when we lose an ambassador
for high knees and physical fitness on that level. And
nano bubbles.

Speaker 1 (39:58):
Oh yeah, dude, nano bubbles so ten years ago. Man,
that's how long ago nano bubbles is. It's ten years ago. Exit.
How about a Fresca ad swollen dome from Mike. I'm
Jason coming up next, my buddy Ben Mallard. This is
Fox Nano Bubbles.
