Speaker 2 (00:22):
Let's give this you're listening to Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 1 (00:29):
Greetings, Welcome inside final hour tonight the Jason Smith Show
with my bes friend Mike Harmon.
Speaker 2 (00:36):
I want to have a gun blow hot dogs into
the stands. I really do.
Speaker 1 (00:44):
Hot dogs.
Speaker 2 (00:45):
Yo.
Speaker 1 (00:46):
So we got more Monday Night football coming up in
a few minutes. I mean Niners beat the Panthers, yay,
twenty to nine. I mean, really, I got I gotta
understand who's making the schedule where they decide, you know what,
Jets and Panthers, let's not put them on until, like,
you know, two thirds of the way through the season,
when their seasons might just be really done. I don't
I don't understand that philosophy. I don't know.
Speaker 3 (01:07):
Put him on Sunday night. I got Denver, Washington. Well day,
I got Giants New England, all right.
Speaker 1 (01:14):
Will hang on, We'll hang on. Well, okay, Monday night,
Denver and Washington looked like it was going to be
a pretty good game, right, Denver is on the way up,
Washington's got Jayden Daniels in the off season. That looked
pretty good. Now, I got nothing for you on New
England and the Giants, right, I mean I got nothing
for you on that, right, Like, who thought the Giants
are going to be any good? Coming in with Russell
(01:36):
Wilson New England? We thought New England would be a
little bit better everybody. This is why rabel Is, the
you know, was the number one guy. Said, look, he's
a number one guy in the off season, he should be.
That's the team whoever wants to win should hire Mike
rabel I. Didn't think his turnaround would be this good
and this fast, but it is. And so yeah, here
we are. You got lucky that New England Patriots are
(01:56):
there again, playing another really bad team with the can
get it roll up another win and everybody thinks they're great.
So you kind of lucked into New England. But certainly
that matchup beginning of the year, Like, okay, well, who
decided that was gonna be good, Like, who thought, yes,
we week thirteen, let's make sure we come we go
with the Giants, And yeah, you can't even say, well,
we were wishing it, hoping Jackson to Dart was gonna
(02:17):
be out there right and Scatibo.
Speaker 3 (02:19):
Would be running around like that just kind of has
happened as the year. I mean, come on, it's like
a horror movie.
Speaker 2 (02:28):
Ros does it.
Speaker 1 (02:29):
That's ritt and especially today, right you saw you saw,
uh two big coaches get fired today and Shane Bowen
gets fired as Giants defensive coordinator and not a surprise
because you know that's another Giants collapsed at a ten
point lead, and Brian Dables going say, not my fault. Ah,
you want to blame me for all these lawses. I
(02:51):
just shouldn't have gone in and checked the medical tent.
That was my big faux pas. But look see, I'm
not the only guy that can blow ten point leads.
But this story, okay, it's great Mike cap trying to
put his stamp on the team, and you know he thinks, well,
if I have a big end of the season, they'll
give me the job next year. Not happening. Everybody is
out in New York. You had elik neighbors today deleting
(03:12):
tweets questioning the Giants play calling. And you know during
this game which which happened, which again you say to yourself,
what are you doing? Why aren't you kicking field? What
are you trying to really accomplish here? Like everybody is leaving.
It's such a bad situation in New York. Everybody is out.
But the flip side of it is, I'm telling you,
(03:32):
this is the job that you're going to see people
come out of the woodwork to come get Guys that
have jobs now are going to say I want the
Giants job because you are in such a position to
succeed because you have a franchise quarterback. You have a
potential part franchise running back because look Skamp camp Scattaba
when he comes back, he's a big camp hero, but
(03:53):
he's got to be part of a thunder and lightning
backfield because he's not a guy that's going to carry
the ball twenty five times a game and gain you
more than sixty five yards. Right, So he's gooddy, But
you have elite neighbors come back, Wandell Robinson is really good.
You have a pretty good defensive line. Abdul Carter starts
to get it and gets to meetings on time, like,
(04:13):
and you have an owner that is pretty patient with
head coaches. All right, Look how long they gave Brian
Dable all the way into this year to prove that,
you know, two years removed from Daniel Jones, to prove that,
you know, can you not or not do it? So
this is the job, right. It's the number one market
in the country. It's the most popular team in New York,
one of the three most popular teams year to year
(04:35):
in the NFL, along with the Cowboys and the Steelers.
And you have great young talent and you're in a
position to succeed because you're gonna have time to be
able to, you know, show that you can do it. Like,
this is the job that everybody is gonna want. Right,
everybody gets cleared out because it's a bad time there
in New York right now. Everybody's questioning everything, questioning the
coaches quiet. But this is one of those In a minute,
(04:58):
this thing can flip with the right head. And you
wait and see the names that are out there for
this job.
Speaker 3 (05:03):
Yeah, I mean, still a lot of growth potential for
Jackson Dart and you know, we talked about it weeks
before it finally happened, the number of trips to the
Blue tent and everything. I got to learn to play
smartly and be better about his decision making in the
open field, to the edges, etc. To protect yourself and
(05:23):
be smart about it. Get out of bounce. Don't linger
a little bit trying to get an extra half a
yard because you will get blown up. Ask Caleb Williams
about that from that game against the Steelers.
Speaker 2 (05:33):
Hey, he's out a bound.
Speaker 1 (05:34):
No he's not.
Speaker 3 (05:35):
He's still in, which means a guy gets a free
shot on him when he's exposed. And Jackson Dart we
saw that repeatedly, so he's got to be smarter there,
Neighbors coming back off the injury scatter bow, you talk
about the defensive line, All of that pieces are in place.
A lot of rumors about coaching, you know, upheaval and
trades involving coaches, which makes it more fun for us,
(05:58):
like the more chaos that comes in there, and certainly
all of the musical chairs going on in the collegiate
world help us. It's the most anticipated egg Bowl in
the history of man uh and the subsequent press conference, uh,
flowing out of that. But for the Giants, yeah, it's
it's a marquee job. I mean, go back to Tom Kaffam.
(06:19):
Plenty of ups and downs, right, he found found the
the finish line a couple of times. Otherwise just a
red faced guy yelling quite often. And then you look
at their their.
Speaker 1 (06:30):
Well that's coaching too, red face guys.
Speaker 3 (06:33):
But they but they the bigger thing is they'd love
to stop the merry go round that they've been on
over the last decade.
Speaker 1 (06:40):
Right.
Speaker 3 (06:40):
The number of coaches they've gone through is as patient,
uh as the Mara family has been at times.
Speaker 2 (06:46):
Oh there's a there's a lot of blood there, man,
there's a lot.
Speaker 3 (06:49):
There's a there's a lot of coaching casualties. You know, say,
all right, what's the timeline here? And you remember some
of the interims, You remember the macadoon, you remember, like
all of that stuff is there. And Brian Dable thought
that he was going to be the guy to push
it forward with Jackson Dart, but that he couldn't keep
him out of the tent, and even when he was
in the tent, he went to go get him. So
(07:12):
it just was one bad look after the next, and
to this point, Shane's gotten a vote of confidence. I
gotta imagine some more collapses, some more of the decisions
that he made, and the trickle down effect that that
won't be the case. But in division, you know, it's
an uphill climb. I got to think that, you know,
(07:32):
the Cowboys are on the right path. Jerry Jones actually
getting lauded for some of the moves that he's made
as opposed to the normal chuckle hut routines that we
get this time of year.
Speaker 1 (07:42):
I mean, it's what I say, people that have jobs
like Lane Kiffin might just be the tip of the
iceberg with this. It seems like he's more. You see
all the rumors that the rumors, what LSU is offering him,
what Florida could wind up offering him, like the Giants.
But you're gonna see his name mentioned there and you
know between for the next week or so, and old
(08:05):
is his old guy Jackson Dart. Yeah, but you are.
I mean, you're gonna see guys with big college jobs, hey,
Giants head coach, right, You're gonna see I wouldn't be
surprised if you saw guys like Marcus Freeman get get
named in, Hey, Marcus Freeman could be the next Giants
head coach something like that. You're gonna see this this
kind of situation. I think you're gonna see some guys
in the NFL that might be be named Hey, you
(08:28):
know I want that Giants job. You're gonna see him.
You're gonna see at the end of the year, if
Pittsburgh wants to part ways with Mike Tomlin. You think
that the the Giants aren't gonna say, Mike, come on in,
Come on in, Mike, come on in, run things that
we don't want any of this crazy ass stuff. And
we're like, there's gonna be dudes with jobs, big jobs,
big names that are gonna get mentioned for this, for
this gig.
Speaker 2 (08:48):
Yeah, there's no question.
Speaker 3 (08:49):
I mean, we talked about some of the odds last year,
I mean, or last week I should say, I mean,
talk about Mike Tomlin as a potential trade candidate in
all of it's trying to get some compensation on him
because he's still even if you think his message and
methodology is worn out in Pittsburgh. You're telling me that
how many teams have had the stability that the Steelers
(09:10):
have had right over these years. Now, I'm not talking
about the chaos with wide receivers and some running backs
along the way, But you know, you're looking at Mike
McCarthy as one of those guys out there. Clint Kubiak's
been mentioned, Kingsbury, Halfley there in Green Bay, Todd Monkin.
Lane Kiffen was fourteen to one as of a week ago.
(09:32):
Marcus Freeman was at fifty to one after signing his
new deal.
Speaker 1 (09:37):
Now, one guy who could be on that list but
is not getting the job is Chip Kelly, who suddenly
is available. About the Raiders. I would laugh at this,
except it's the Raiders. It's typically on brand for the Raiders.
The Raiders paid him six million dollars a year to
get him out from Ohio State to be their offensive coordinator,
(10:00):
and today they fired him. I mean, it's it's it's
it's It would be embarrassing if it wasn't. Well, it's
a raid. It's kind of the Raiders operating.
Speaker 2 (10:08):
You just gotta shrug. It's the Raiders.
Speaker 1 (10:10):
Midway through their first year. Yep, yeah, yeah, we're getting out.
And he doesn't sound upset when he's at when he
was asked about it today, you would think, oh, guy
getting fired after week twelve, year one, he's gonna be pissed.
He's gonna say, I can't believe this. He would say, yeah,
I got it. You gotta win now, I understand.
Speaker 2 (10:24):
He got six million dollars.
Speaker 1 (10:26):
No, not to be not broken up about leaving the Raiders. No, yeah, yeah, okay,
I'm done. I'm good. I'll see you guys. Uh. Look,
this is this is tip. This is so on brand
for the Raiders, and because the Raiders, for my entire lifetime,
the Raiders have made a cottage industry of signing players,
older players who they're hoping still have something less sure
(10:48):
right now, They used to win super Bowls with that, right,
that was a whole big thing in the seventies and
the eighties. The Raiders did this, and Jim Plunkett wins
a Super Bowl. Look at that, like they did this
all the time. They did it later on, Jeff Hosteller
all the way through. Right did it this year? Were
Gino Smith?
Speaker 4 (11:02):
Right?
Speaker 1 (11:02):
Okay, Gino Smith has seen it. Yeah, Gino Smith is
our guy. Okay, that's great. And now they did it
with Chip Kelly, who, let's face it, Chip Kelly is
ten years passed his prime for being hired in the NFL.
Like Chip Kelly was the hot guy in the in
the early to mid twenty tens when he was the
head coach in Philadelphia, his system was red hot. That
(11:25):
was when to go get Chip Kelly. You get Chip
Kelly now, right. He had had a nice little run
there in Columbus calling plays for the Ohio State Buck
guys and the great coaching staff there. And as we
have seen, maybe they don't miss chip Kelly that much,
considering Julian Saying is the second Heisman Trophy favorite and
Ohio State's still undefeated going into this weekends Michigan, So
(11:45):
like maybe they didn't miss him all that much, But
like that was the time to go pay all that
kind of money to go get chip Kelly was you know,
twelve years ago they get him now. Yeah, I'm kind
of done. I'm collecting this money. I'll see you guys. Okay,
that's great, Like that's so on brand for the Raiders
to do this, and especially to have it fail and
have it fail in the middle of the first season.
Speaker 3 (12:04):
Well, you look at genty has a decent game this week. Finally,
Bouers was in and out of the lineup, and you
haven't been able to capitalize that mayor is just an
afterthought in things the receiving corps. I mean, how many
weeks did we have Jacoby Myers where if given the opportunity,
he literally would have put the nameplate has Trade Me
(12:26):
on the back of it before he finally went off
to Jacksonville. Right, they bring in Tyler Lockett, fine and
Gino Smith's a turnover machine and he takes too many sacks.
And I could do this all day because he's just
been abysmald going down to his atrocious press conference a
week ago, and then this week now you got video
of him flipping guys off because of a sign that
(12:47):
asked whether he or JaMarcus Russell was the bigger failure. Now,
I did see there was a ranking of all the
quarterbacks that have played, I think in the last twenty
five years, where you got JJ McCarthy down with some
of the numbers that equate to JaMarcus Russell. But that's
a discussion for another time. Gino a little bit higher
(13:07):
than that, but Chip Kelly was leading them to fifteen
points per game. They're lower in scoring than the Tennessee
Titans tied with the New Orleans Saints.
Speaker 1 (13:18):
That's a tough thing to do.
Speaker 2 (13:19):
Yeah, I mean you're almost trying. Now.
Speaker 3 (13:22):
Will he be able to go be a coordinator in
college again? Absolutely? But to say, hey, why why is
he not mad? He got six million dollars? I want
proof of concept that he actually did any work.
Speaker 1 (13:35):
Well, I mean obviously he did some kind of work.
He showed up, you know, Oh yeah, okay, well showing
up either way.
Speaker 3 (13:42):
The other thing. Let me ask the the other thing
that goes with this Tom Brady. It was supposed to
be and he's a teammate and all this. But remember
when everybody was like, this was going to give them
this decided leg up on everything that has a translated
to this point. So can he just take over the
offensive play calling and maybe that'll juice things? I don't know,
(14:04):
Remember everybody was all mad, oh yeah about Tom Brady
just being involved with things at all. It's like the Raiders,
they're not there. It doesn't matter.
Speaker 1 (14:15):
At this point. Shouldn't tom Brady call plays? Call plays?
You know, he's got a quarterback. I know he's got
to call games on Sunday. But shouldn't he just call
plays if he's on the headset anyway, should just call plays?
Speaker 2 (14:25):
Just go be the quarterback.
Speaker 1 (14:27):
At this point he was throwing passes on Sunday still look, I.
Speaker 2 (14:31):
Had some zip there, and isn't it he gets nothing
wrong with Gino. Guys, you never keep rolling them out there?
You stop, dude.
Speaker 1 (14:40):
You Chargers don't have to worry about anything Raider wise
this year.
Speaker 2 (14:42):
I hope they signed ten years.
Speaker 1 (14:47):

Great things, and welcome inside the Hotel California. I am

Michael Harmon. You cannot leave. Ty Shirt is really big
on the alternate versions of a Hotel California. He's got
like seven of them.
Speaker 3 (16:05):
I think, well, I mean, it's it's the gift that
keeps giving. Sure, sure, Happy Thanksgiving week? Yeah absolutely.
Speaker 1 (16:17):
Week twelve was in the books. Week thirteen, Hey, three
days away, three games on Thursday. Cowboys featured on Thursday
after authoring that huge comeback a day ago against the
Eagles in which the Eagles got out to a twenty
one nothing lead and they decided, yeah, we're good. We're good.
It was easy for us. We scored first three times,
(16:38):
we got the football, that's it, and they stopped playing.
And you know they say it in hockey all the time.
You know what three to nothing lead is the most
dangerous lead to play with. Well, a three touchdown lead
might be the most dangerous lead to play with in
the NFL. Because the Cowboys came back. The Eagles blew it,
They handed the game to them, and the Cowboys author
a win that gets them more respect a better chance
(16:59):
to make the playoffs. It's a huge showdown this week
against the Chiefs, and it really was something I didn't
mind so much that my game prediction went south, because
what did I tell you on Friday? Look all this
controversy with the with the Eagles, and everybody hates Jalen Hurts.
Watch what happens this week. Watch how big of a
week the Eagles offense has. They're gonna beat the Cowboys
(17:21):
by twenty and and it looked like it right they
were out again. I'm like, oh, this is the easiest
bullprediction I ever made. And then the Eagles just quick
because they figured, yeah, we're done, we got it. And
unfortunately the game sixty minutes, yeah, and not just the
first twelve minutes.
Speaker 2 (17:35):
No, it was great a score, Yeah, got the Smith's
let's go.
Speaker 1 (17:43):
I didn't mind that that the you know, the the
Eagles just really blew it for me, so, okay it happened,
I didn't because it was just so exciting to watch
the Cowboys come back and and and look. The thing
is what people forget about the Cowboys. We get caught
up and I hate the Cowboys. I hate Jerry Jones.
I hate this. The Cowboys are fun, man. This is
(18:03):
a fun team to watch because offensively they're unstoppable, and
defensively you have no idea what you're gonna get. Right,
they've been They were so until the trade deadline, but
now you see the moves they've made. Their defense got better.
I mean, look, you stopped the Eagles after the first
three drives they got zero. You gave him nothing. The
rest of the way. Quentin Williams was great. I think
(18:24):
he had eight pressures uh yesterday. He's exactly what they
need in the middle of that defensive line because you're
not gonna stop the run. You got a defensive tackles.
Speaker 2 (18:31):
Yeah, that's kind of a big game. So it's a
new content.
Speaker 1 (18:36):
I like the I love the unpredictability of the Cowboys,
and I'm building towards something here. There's times when I
watch George Pickens play this year and I go he's
the best receiver in the NFL doesn't happen all the time,
but man, there's there's some sustained moments where I say,
nobody is more talented than this guy. He's even better
than than Jackson Smith and Jigbo, who is clearly the
(18:58):
best receiver in the NFL this year. Just the overall
talent level doesn't matter what you have on him. Pickens
is motivated, He is fun, he is exciting, Like, this
is how good the Cowboys offense is. It's basically uncoverable.
You can't stop them. And talking to Jay Glazer last week,
you know we watched the Texans in the big Thursday
(19:18):
Night defensive effort. He said, look, every year there's a team,
a couple of teams that you don't want to play
in the AFC. That team is the Texans. Nobody wants
to play the Texans because of their defense. I mean,
the offense doesn't scare anybody. Davis Mills is nice. CJ.
Stroud coming back, all right, that's great, But the offense
isn't isn't amazing. It's not gonna hurt anybody. He's not
gonna scare anybody. But their defense is that good, right, Texans,
(19:40):
Rams Broncos. Three best defenses in the NFL, and the
Texans might be the best one. You want to go
to the NFC. The team nobody wants to play, that's
the Cowboys. Nobody wants to play this offense. They have
gone from a team. Hey, just don't get into a
shootout with them, you'll be okay. Now it's man, no
lead is safe. We really don't want to play them.
They have an era, they have a They exude an
(20:03):
aura of calm even when they're down big because they
know they can get back on the board. Even plays
where Dak is just throwing the football up, he makes
the right decision and and hey, this is where I'm
gonna take the chance with the one on one spot.
Uh dout down the line. Uh, it's nobody wants to
play them. Not nobody wants to play them because they're
just that that dangerous. So you don't want to play
(20:24):
the Texans in the AFC because of their defense. Don't
want to play the Cowboys in the NFC because their offense.
That's how dangerous they No.
Speaker 3 (20:30):
That's the thing, right, we'll see what the what the
defense becomes here going forward? Big test. Uh, the chiefs
who've been grossly inconsistent. So this is one of those
uh grab some popcorn and let's see which side uh
plays out. Because there was a lot of praising of
Jerry after the bye week. They come out heavy hearts
(20:51):
certainly still thinking about Kneeland and with the reconstituted defense,
and they get a big win against Vegas. But there's
nothing Grandy Ocean you can take from that because they
just fired their offensive coordinator. They're averaging fifteen points a game.
So the fact that you won thirty three sixteen you
just kind of shrug. Yeah, you did get that safety,
(21:12):
so that was a nice little bonus for you. But
all of that to say, you know, for for a
first half against Philly, like, well, Philly's offense hasn't been
any good.
Speaker 2 (21:20):
Look what the hell they're doing?
Speaker 1 (21:22):
Right?
Speaker 3 (21:22):
So all of a sudden you're back to the you know,
riddler question mark suits on all these guys going what
am I getting? And so Thursday, another middling offense, but
the head of the snake is there growing injury from
my homes but he'll play. We'll see what they're able
to do. It's a big home game, you know, the
traditions that people complain about every every year.
Speaker 2 (21:44):
It's Detroit Dallas.
Speaker 3 (21:46):
I just programmed all of your what you're gonna listen
to a little bit on on Thursday. Some folks will
go go deep into those weeds. But you're looking at
the schedule going forward. You got Kansas City, then you
got Detroit, then you got so They're okay cool. You
got the Chargers, you got Washington and New York. The
final two games are road games to finish things off
(22:07):
for the Cowboys. They're interesting as hell going forward because
if the defense, It's like we talk about with Cleveland, right,
if they had a decent offense or just slightly above
average offense with that defense, they'd be fantastic. With the Cowboys,
it's the exact opposite. If I can get a little
bit of defense to go with my Dak Prescott. I'm
feeling pretty good because I've seen this week's come back
(22:29):
and finishing the job with the Aubrey field goal ranking
up as one of Prescott's biggest wins. With this three
hundred and fifty four yards passing, you know, they readily
dismiss the early part of the game, you know, when
they did nothing, but all of that twenty four to
twenty one, hard fought win to keep them alive at
five to five and one.
Speaker 1 (22:50):
And look, there's teams that I always will not give
credit to if I don't believe in them. Right, I'm
not gonna believe in the forty nine Ers, not giving
them any credit because they stink. Yeah, you hate rock Party, right,
the Steelers stink. Now brought perty's just overpaid and overrated.
But they both stink. They're both not good. The Patriots playing,
I mean, look, their schedules gets easier and easy. I
think they have they have they have more buys coming up.
(23:12):
I think they have three more buys the rest of
the way. Well, one of them is the Jets.
Speaker 3 (23:15):
Right, But but the Cows waiting to see which opponents
you were gonna name that.
Speaker 1 (23:21):
But the Cowboys not one of those teams because as
much as nobody wants to give them credit and go,
I don't believe, I don't believe it, don't believe who
do you believe? This is a year in the NFL
where you could say why not us? Right, that's the
year you can say, Now the NFC is a little
bit better overall in the AFC because you're your top
of the NFC. Look, we'll get more into the Rams
probably tomorrow night. We'll get into more in the Rams
(23:42):
and and where they are sitting at the top of
the NFL right now. But the NFC is a little
bit tougher. But it doesn't matter. You're you're right there.
You're one game under five hundred. You are in the
playoff race. And it doesn't matter because if you're the Cowboys,
all you want to do is get in. But I
give them credit because it was an awful trade with
Micah Parsons to start. Just think about what the Cowboys
have overcome here. You had the horrible Micah Parsons trade
(24:04):
to start the season where you begin this year, and
it's great. Our owner doesn't believe in us. He couldn't
find a way to make it happen for the best
defensive player in the NFL to keep them. Now we
lost them. What the hell are we doing? Right? Things
don't start out great, but they stay with it. Their
offense is terrific. Okay, what do you need to do well?
The deadline? Jerry Jones went out that he overpay, sure,
(24:24):
but he went out and got the best defensive tackle
you were going to get in. Quinn Williams right, you
made the moves you needed to get. Okay, you need
some stuff. I got your back. It's exciting in Dallas now.
The defense is a little bit better again. You don't
know what you're gonna get. You're gonna get a little
bit better effort defensively now than you did the first
seven eight weeks of the season. So I give them
credit for a season they could have folded on the
(24:45):
pressures could have gotten to them. But instead things have
gotten better and there's excitement in Dallas, and they're fun
to watch and you have no idea where they're gonna
be and what they can give you from week to week.
And that's okay. It's just in the offensive show because
it's so incredibly dangerous, and they're running the football well too.
People forget about that other run. No, they're running the
(25:07):
football really well too. This is a full service offense.
This is not just Dak throw to throwing it. This
is Javonte Williams and running in a very complimentary way.
Unlike when they were first built on Dak and Ezekiel Elliott,
where was really built on Zeke running and you had
Dak throw in the football. This is more a complimentary
way of Javonte Williams and company being able to take
(25:28):
the pressure off the offense. This is this is an
incredibly dated I don't want to play them. I don't
know any team in the playoffs. It's gonna look down
and go, yeah, well the Cowboys squeaked in as a
final wildcard. Note nobody wants to play them. Not one
team wants to play them. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (25:41):
I go back to that trade.
Speaker 3 (25:43):
I was might it might have been the only guy
raising my hand to try to defend Jerry Jones. Now,
nothing happens in a vacuum, and they had to make
these other moves to bolster the defense. And you know,
as you roll up and you're banking on health in
that secondary and everything else, hoping it comes to get
But you were losing with Micah Parsons. You can lose
(26:04):
without him, so run stuffing, especially when you're looking at
Saquon Barkley again, things that they knew in the offseason
and could have addressed while still negotiating with Michaeh Parsons.
But unfortunately sometimes you can't get over it. And even
for Michah Parsons, he's still looking over there, he's still
sad he's not there.
Speaker 2 (26:24):
Even if shitt Green Bay.
Speaker 3 (26:25):
It's you know, there's still something to it, but you know, unfortunately,
sometimes you move on and move forward. We talk about
this a lot with different teams and moves that may
he's like, yeah, you don't want to get rid of
this guy, but at some point and the rubber meets
the road and you don't hand the guy a blank
check because there's still ten guys that gotta play defense.
(26:46):
It's your rock, pretty argument, just on the other side.
So I as much as Michael Parson's a great individual,
he's still part of a defense that still needs to
come and bring it to full on. And if you
can't stand to step the run, then you know what
you're not on third and long to where he gets
to pin his ears back and get back after a quarterback.
Speaker 2 (27:08):
Right, it all plays together.
Speaker 3 (27:10):
But we're at this place now where the Cowboys are
at least viable and they're more than just a passing fancy.
And hey, let's see what Jerry's gonna say next, because
the team is actually interesting on a whole other level
for what's actually on the field.
Speaker 1 (27:24):
For once exit out bout a Fresca exit. Swallen down
the Jason Smith Show with my best friend Mike Harmon
Tom Gow to find out what's trending in the wide
world of sports. But guy has been called the Micah
Parsons of Fox Sports Radio. Every time he's not with us,
he misses us. It's Steve the Sego.
Speaker 4 (27:41):
I did switch to a single digit number for my
new team.
Speaker 1 (27:44):
Forty nine.
Speaker 4 (27:45):
Ers got a Monday night home win against Carolina twenty
to nine. Christian McCaffrey eighty nine yards rushing in a score,
seven receptions for fifty three yards. Niners in Conference eight
and two. Now after tonight, San Francisco plays at Cleveland
by week, then against Tennessee. Some consider the bye week
and playing Tennessee the same thing, but that's neither here
(28:07):
nor there. Brock Party an early touchdown pass tonight, then
three interceptions in the first half. Bryce Young won TD
two picks in the first half. The Panthers had five drives,
three three and outs, an interception, and a field goal,
and yet the Niners only led seven to three late
in the first half twenty to nine. The final and
quarterback Dylan Gabriel of the Browns, who's out of concussion protocol,
(28:28):
was cleared to play, but Shodour Sanders will start again
Sunday against the Niners. The Vikings place quarterback JJ McCarthy
in concussion protocol. Washington quarterback Jayden Daniels will return to
practice this week, but he still hasn't been cleared for
contact yet. New England tackle Will Campbell is believed to
have a spring to mcl The Giants fired defensive coordinator
(28:48):
Shane Bowen. The Raiders promoted Greg Olsen to interim offensive coordinator.
Three games in the NFL this Thursday, Thanksgiving Night at
Cincinnati at Baltimore. Bengals star quarterback Joe burrowicks expected to

Speaker 1 (30:13):
Got the score wrong, it was Syracuse seventy four, Notre
Dame seventy.
Speaker 2 (30:18):
Seventy to seven exactly.
Speaker 4 (30:21):
Gonzaga beat Alabama seedon all upset number twenty three NC
State produce still number one, Arizona up to number two.
NHL wins for New Jersey and Tampa Bay, Florida one
eight three at Nashville, Utah home victory against Vegas five
to one, and Colorado Rockies interim manager Warren Schaefer will

(30:42):
coach and congratulations to the MLS expansion team in San Diego.
They won their playoff game one nothing against Minnesota tonight.
San Diego will host the Western Conference Finals Saturday against Vancouver.
The East Final Saturday has Liono Messi and Miami against
New York City.
Speaker 2 (31:00):
That Vancouver l a f C game was insane.
Speaker 1 (31:04):
That was goodness. Oh my goodness, I'll tell you what.
You know what, watching that game, it was two different
first half, it's all Vancouver and LA oh yeah that
was on TV. Yeah, it was streaming, so I had
I had to stream it, but I have the streaming
so it's fine. And then in the second half it's
(31:25):
all l a f C. And they tie it up
and then Vancouver is playing the rest of the game
with a man down, and I'm saying, oh my goodness,
l A f C is gonna is gonna win this game,
and they're gonna find a way or not score it
all and and it goes to penalties, and I'll tell.
Speaker 2 (31:41):
Vancouver has another guy get hurt too.
Speaker 1 (31:43):
Yeah it was. You talk about a battle of attrition
there with Vancouver and l A f C. That was
such an exciting game down I really thought. And two
of my best friends are big l A f C fans,
and and they were all crazy texting me in the
in the middle to come back in the second half.
Just see, just see that free kick calling it yeah, yeah,
he's worth all the money. Then to the penalty phase,
(32:04):
I go, is he still worth all the money? And silence?
I get silence back of.
Speaker 4 (32:07):
That streaming only for most people, just like the NFL
game Friday, streaming only from most.
Speaker 1 (32:16):
Let's go get ready Black Friday, everybody, I'll be watching.
Speaker 3 (32:20):
My playing a soccer tournament. When watching the Bears and Eagles.
Speaker 1 (32:26):
Why am I sure I watched it? Yeah, I'm sure
I watched it.
Speaker 2 (32:28):
I don't think MLS playoff games are on TV because
why would they put a playoff game on TV?
Speaker 1 (32:34):
Yeah, well they put it. Wasn't it was on streaming sport.
I know, I know I know eventually, eventually, and I
even thought, well, we'll get it in the local WoT,
We'll get it here, like it's got to be on here,
not just nope, nope, nope, streaming, streaming only uh coming
up next, we get back into a big store in
the end, and we'll have final thoughts on Monday Night
(32:55):
Football plus one team. Enjoy beating up on them now
because next year is going to be quite a different story. Combers,
that's next right here, Jason and Mike. Fox Sports Radio.
