(00:23):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio. Fox Sports Radio. Welcome
inside final hour of the show tonight, The Jason Smith
Show with my best friend Mike Harmon. Uh Matson The
Dodgers by Dodgers scor see how we score a run?
Yea six to one. Dodgers lead the Mets right now

(00:46):
in the night like Harvey Kite telling bad Lieutenant when
he wakes up from that drug induced has and Strawberry
it's a three run Homer and he's stands up clapping.
They go and that makes the score Mets eight Dodgers three.
And he gets so mad and like his wife or
somebody says, hey, Strawberry comes to that and half dinner,

(01:09):
what a movie the unrated bad lieutenants about his foul
uh as it gets but hey, but I want to
I want to say something because I don't want people
to misconstrue something we talked about a few minutes before
we get into a story from the NBAH go ahead, UM,
so yeah, I'm definitely down on you know we we

(01:31):
kept No, I'm not down on Kate Bush. That song
running Up that Hill that they play in Stranger Things
all the time now the number one song in the country,
because if people are down left and it's just an
okay song, and I can't understand how anybody would have
that would be their favorite song, Like, how is it
your favorite song? It's flipping depressing. It's just what we're

(01:52):
running up then, And I want to tell you what.
I'll send you a list of what's on my playlist.
Did you tell me where that ranks? And I'm I'm positivity,
you're depressing. Well look, hey, I'm not saying it's sweet Jane.
You know, I'm not saying that that that it's it's
that depressing. But even looking into my phone, how can
that how can you do sweet? Sweet? Like how can

(02:13):
you say that's your favorite song? It's a character's favorite
song and Stranger Things going how how how is this
your favorite song? And and the way they use in
the show where it's this big touchstone part. It's like,
it should be something better, it should be something that's bigger.
And I'm not anti playing and listening to the same
song over and over and over again, because when I

(02:34):
was a kid, I love doing that. I used to
buy cass singles of the best song. Why would I
want to buy the whole The whole album probably stinks,
and just have one good song. So I'll buy the
cas single for two fifty and I'll get the regular version,
and then I'll get like one other version, and I'll
get one other song, and then I'll get the extended
version of the song. I like, how to listen to
it back? And I got like thirteen or fourteen minutes

(02:57):
of songs. It's great. Like I would do that all
the time. I'd buy his singles and listen to Hey,
I can listen to that, and then I can listen
to this. I used to get all the times to do
do it all the time. I would even find a song,
I like to just record it and put it on
like five times in a row on a cassette tape,
right like I did that to Van Halen. Why can't
this be love? Right. I was like, Oh, I love
this song. I'm gonna I'm gonna put it on there
like five So I had it like five times in

(03:17):
row listen to it all the way through them, Like, oh,
this is great. So I am very pro doing that.
I'm just anti. You gotta pick the right songs. Yeah,
we were. We were having a discussion earlier about the
Sammy Hagar era of Van Halen versus David Lee Roth.
That was a nice discussion going through and talking about

(03:37):
Sammy Hagar's solo career as well. So it was it
was educational. But yeah, picking those songs, I mean, folks,
Folks have their favorites, you know, you say cassette singles.
I was. We also heard the song the other Side
by Aerosmith, You Don't Loving You has got to be
I had a I had one of those because singles

(04:00):
or whatever you're calling him, uh, that had like six
versions of it. That's a great single. That's a great single.
Oh yeah. Like when when that album came out, they
really went over the top for every single that they
put it. Oh yeah, but you know it's my favorite
one was and it's one of my favorite songs of

(04:21):
the eighties. It's It's It's group. I don't know if
you've heard the song. It's called It's by con Can
and it's called I Beg Your Pardon and it's just
such a great fast dance song and the lyrics make
no sense and it's great. Right. So when this song,
I'm like, oh my god, I love this song is
so much fun. So I bought the cas single. It
was two fifty and there was two songs on it.

(04:41):
It was the regular version on side one, and then
when you flipped it over, it was the extended like
eight minute version because it did all the synthesizer stuff.
I'm like, this is so great, and I would just
keep flipping it over listen to say, oh, do I
want the extended version this time? No? And I want
the regular version this time? No, I want the extended version.
I got the regular this time. Oh. It was so great.

(05:01):
I mean, I was such a big fan of that song.
And every time it's on the radio now once in
a while I'll get it when it's on like the
eight station or somewhere else, and I go, oh, so
he listened, it's my favorite song, and I would say,
I wanna make you well. The songs makes no sense,
and I'll start singing. She'll go, dad, what what is
this song? I? Oh, it's concat I beg your pardon?
Did so great? She'll just go whatever. Then she'll put

(05:23):
her own. Then that people like, I'm just gonna put about. Yeah,
but that's a fast song. It's got a good beat
and it's fast and it's something fun. Running up that
hill is just depressing. Like you're running up a hill.
That's depressing right away. The title of the song is depressing.
Who wants to run up a hill? Nobody, not even wonders.

(05:45):
Not because he ran up and what happened? He had
to keep running up that hill? You're running up that?
He'll run it up that hill? I mean, I think
he wanted to stop at some point. Right, you want
to stop pushing the rock up the hill? Right? You
wanted to get me. I made it to the toting
off back in the bottom, pushing right, and then I
get to the bottom, I go back to the town.
Hey you go, helter skelter. See, we can make a

(06:07):
do song references all night long. I did you know
it could have been something that's a lot more fun more.
Someone was in a mood when they wrote it, and
then they pitched it and they were able to get
the rights, probably pretty cheaply. And now they've made Kate
Bush a lot of money. Baby, I'm gonna make it's

(06:28):
my it's my job to make more people like Kate
Bush job. Maybe Kate Bush helped them out with their
with her songs when they were teenagers, and now that
they had the opportunity to say, you know what, I
know by putting her her song in this show, she
can go to number one and and make some coin.
I'm gonna pay it back. Dear Kate. When I was

(06:50):
younger and really depressed, You're depressing songs really made me
more depressed and made me think about how depressed I
was and out sad the songs were. Thank you very much,
gotta go. Gotta write the next letter to Robert Smith
in the cure for writing all their songs about really
sad things like death and really just photocopy and changed
the name and said one to Morrissey. I got a

(07:14):
lot of these to go out. I got a lot
of people that that that that made me sad when
I was a kid. I that's one thing that that
gets me now is you know, being. You know, I'm
fifty now and I'm like, okay, I don't know. I
don't want to listen to sad songs like I used to.
Oh no, I I like songs. They'll say so much. Yeah,

(07:37):
very nice. We're going deep into the Elton John reservoir.
We've been watching rocket Man was every other day the
Jason Smith Show with my best friend in my car.
But if you're a valued customer, you deserve a simple
gesture of appreciation from your credit card company. That's why
I discovered matches all the cash back. You were in
the end of your first year, discover exceptionally common sense,

(07:58):
learned more, discover dot com slash match limitations. They do
apply well. As we wait for Game two of the
NBA Finals, something gaining a lot of attention today was
this play by play call from the Boston Celtics fourth
quarter comeback the game on ABC. Mark Jones, longtime play
by play man. He had been doing play by play

(08:19):
for about thirty years. Member ESPN had a really weird
uh set of circumstances where basically their whole broadcast team
um fell victim to COVID couldn't couldn't work, So they
had to bring new people in and Mark Jones announced
the game when it was Mike Breen who was supposed
to do it. So during this Celtics comeback in the
fourth quarter, this is how Mark Jones described it. The

(08:42):
Celtics have stormed ahead. This insurrection has been leading by
a level. Wow, dude, how do you use the word
insurrection to describe a basketball game when it is so synonymous?
Is one of the worst days of American history January

(09:02):
six of the insurrection at the Capitol where they storm
the Senate chambers and people died and it was awful,
and we're dealing with this fall out of this, still
one of the worst days in American history. How do
you think it's a good idea to say, yeah, I
know they want to there, this win, this comeback, this insurrection.
How do you think that's a good idea, right to
pull the curtain back just for a couple of minutes here.

(09:25):
People who talk for a living, like Mike and I do,
like other people do, whether it's on TV, on the radio,
we talk a lot, right, We talked for four hours
a night. Some people talk for an hour a day.
They talked, they do podcasts. But anybody who talks for
a living. One of the most valuable things you can
have is an emergency break, That emergency break in your

(09:45):
head that when you're on a train of thought and
you think you're gonna say something, to be able to
stop and go, oh, don't know that. I want to
say that, even if it makes you look a little
silly for a couple of seconds, to know that this
is probably not something I should say A that's a
real skill to have. Because even if Mark Jones said
the big comeback by the Celtics that I shouldn't say

(10:06):
insurrection the the way they are getting off the mat.
And even though it may sound weird and cliche, is okay,
people forget about it in like three seconds. But you
say insurrection, that's what's wrong with you? Insurrection? What the
hell are you doing? To be able to have that
and and have that circuit breaker in your head to go,
you know what, I don't want to say this, I

(10:28):
should say something else. Is so incredibly valuable to have,
because how many people have we seen over the course
the last few years. The world is littered with people
who used to work in broadcast because they didn't have
that emergency break, and they said something they shouldn't have said,
and it wound up hurting and maybe ending their careers. Right,
Because I'll be the first guy to tell you, Mike,

(10:49):
I don't know where the line is for certain things.
Not that I'm someone who always for language wise, I'm
gonna tell you, Oh, I say this, but as far
as the line goes, I don't know. If someone says
something how it's gonna be metal. If someone says something
that looks controversial like this like St. Mark Jones in Insurrection,
thing like is this gonna be met with Hey, he
needs to be fired because he made this this this uh,

(11:13):
this comparison. Is this gonna be something that blows over?
Is this gonna be something that ESPN is gonna look
into more? And maybe he doesn't get assignments down the
road and it hurts his career. You know, it's hard
to tell where something like this goes. It depends on
how it lands, what the reaction is, especially, you know,
because everybody is so panicked about social media. Oh, people
are getting mad at that's on Twitter. We have to

(11:34):
do something. I don't know where that line is, right,
and and that's something that that I've I firmly you
know I'm saying, I don't know that I'll ever know
where the line is because it changes all the time.
But to know that, to not to know that, okay,
what is this gonna get me? Is this really gonna
get me somewhere? When I say this, right? Is it
really is saying insurrect? Is that really something that that

(11:56):
that is gonna help me? That that's worth it if
I say it. So I'm lucky that I think I
know how to hit the emergency break at times and
not say certain things. Not that I not that I
would say things like that, but just to know, oh,
I can't say this word, I can't say. You know,
A couple of times almost cursed on the air. You know,
you know I got oh boy, I almost said that.
Uh you know, it's it gets difficult at times. But

(12:18):
I liked the fact that I think I know and
I can do that in my head where I go, okay,
well I almost said this, I almost said this. You
have to know when when you think what's a clever
idea or something, you think, oh this might go over
fun really isn't and it's gonna go over and could
really cost you. It's like anything you try to you know,
put your thoughts together, and we're doing improv We're not scripted.

(12:40):
We don't have you know, a bunch of stuff written
down for guests. You know, Hey, would you like let's
let's here's the four things that we've prearranged. We're talking. No,
it's off the cuff, and you and I going back
and forth. You've got a couple of notes on the
larger topics and we go from there. Uh And Mark
Jones also had uh He's had some other issues going

(13:01):
back to in the midst of all the protests UH
and and upheaval uh as related to the police and
interaction with African American UH men and women the you know,
he said we didn't want his police escort for a
particular game. Uh and and use some choice words about

(13:24):
execution and such with you know, I'm not signing my
own death warrant, is what he said, okay. Uh And
yesterday's game, he had a fruityan UH slip that you
know isn't even FCC compliant in this hour, so I
can't even say it, but I will tell you, Jason,
think about Major League Baseball and some of the great

(13:44):
relievers of all time, you know, Bob James. So you
have those kind of things that that that go along
all along the way as well. But you know, you're
you're trying to figure out where the line is. Sometimes
you're trying to be edgy, right, you're trying to make
a name and Mark Jones getting the opportunity to be
on the big broadcast certainly there, but this one there,

(14:09):
there's no there's no dancing around what using the term
in this context, uh, in this time and space what
he's alluding to, right, this isn't five years ago, ten
years ago or five years hence where it's like, all right,
we're in a different time maybe hopefully uh. And and

(14:29):
some of this stuff has been passed and and resolved. Uh.
Certainly wounds that linger. But the idea that you'd use
this this term when you've got an English language, that
the beauty of it and the horror of it is
that you have a thousand words that you could have
used the net instance. Instead you chose that one Twitter

(14:50):
And how about a frescop Mike get swallowed. I'm telling
you you have that emergency break, you wind up keeping
your career a little bit longer. Be sure to catch
live editions of The Jason Smith Show with Mike Harmon

(15:39):
give me even a second of concin I beg your pardon,
give me one second of it. I'm just gonna give
you a generic song. Yeah, did you get? Thanks a lot?
Thanks a lot? Uh. The Jason Smith Show with Mike Harman.
You're just so angry about the music selections and the
Mets lost again. Now I'm a a upset and a

(16:00):
little and you're going tomorrow and you're already saying I
wasted money. We're gonna lose again. You know what, you'll
be able to get a nacho helmet and helmet yeah yeah,
and giant beer. Yeah, that's the best part of tomorrow
is is the is the helmet nachos, Like that's gonna
be my favorite. Like as soon as I walk in,

(16:21):
I'm going I'm going to get helmet nachos. I'll be
back and like, I don't care how long it takes,
I'm gonna get those. I mean, that's what I want.
That's all I want. And like three or four Dodger dogs.
I mean I'm not I'm not great four or four. Oh, dude,
I love Dodger dogs are the best. Oh, that's so good.
In fact, one good one time I went to a
game a couple of years ago and and um, I

(16:41):
went up. I say, I'm having Dodger dog and a
Diet coke and the nachos. And the guy said to me,
is that it? And I go, no, give me another
Dodger dog. And he looked at me, goes, it's for you,
isn't it? And I go, yeah, yeah, yeah. What's the
cost at the ballpark? Uh? I haven't been this year,
so I don't know if they raised the price this year,
but I think it was like six fifty And then

(17:02):
you get the extra long one is like eight fifty.
I think it's how it was. I don't know if
it's changed this year. And that's my first game, all right,
So there you go. The long road begins with that
first step. Make sure you get your steps in if
you're gonna eat a bunch of h We stepped now
to the hot line to bring in our man in

(17:22):
Vegas are Insider former Coast or Coast about the Board
podcast When where Odds Maker at Caesar's Check him out
on CBS as well. He's on Twitter at Todd Ferman.
That is at Todd Ferman. He is in the process
of changing his Twitter handle from ad Todd Ferman too. Boy,
the Mets are great? Uh it is Todd Ferman top.

(17:42):
What's happening? Man? Not a whole heck of a lot, gentlemen,
How you boys holding up on this? Fine? We're gonna'd
be better if the Mets and won a game. But
you know, I'm still feeling good now because I'm sure
the odds are winning. The World Series has gone from
like five to one to now even money, you know.
I mean, I think at this point in the season,
given all everything else going on in that Division. The
Mets are one step closer to mathematically clinching the National League.

(18:03):
Gee says, the Braves continue to flounder about in the
Philadelphia Phillies trying to identify who their bench boss will
be going forward, because you know, there's nothing worse than
when professional baseball players are going to blame their manager
for everything that's gone wrong on the baseball field. I
gotta have a fall, guy, Todd, You know that drill.
But certainly major League Baseball now two months in, as

(18:23):
we look at the the Yankees and the Mets have
been rolling. We've got the Dodgers, the Padres without tatish,
any money shuffling coming in here or maybe some teams
off the pace that people are looking at a little differently.
Nothing to really change, guys. I mean when you look
at some of the blue bloods right now. We knew
that the Dodgers and Yankees had high expectations coming into

(18:44):
the season as far as their win totals were concerned
and as far as their odds to win the World Series.
The Mets prices of course shortened as they continue put
a strangle hold in that division. We try and figure
out what we need to do in the National League
Central as the Milwaukee Brewers just dealing with a rash
of injuries. But the only movement that you've seen elsewhere
would be the Houston Astros. They appear to be the

(19:05):
class of the American League West, and as a result,
they find themselves as the third betting favorite, behind only
the aforementioned Los Angeles Dodgers in New York Yankees. Alright,
so as we as we segue from baseball into the
NBA Finals, Now, I'm sure you were surprised at the
Celtics come back at the end of at the end

(19:26):
of Game one, what do you see going forward to you?
Do you think the Warriors get back in this on
Sunday Night or the Celtics gonna be too much for
you know what? Coming into the series, I like Boston's chances.
I thought they were a little bit more versatile, had
a number of ways they could go out there and
attack the Golden State Warriors, and we saw that in
full display in Game one. Now, did I think Boston
was going to be able to erase a fifteen point

(19:47):
deficit with only a few minutes to go in the
third quarter? Absolutely not. And what you saw from that
bunch was a tremendous effort on the defensive end of
the court more than anything else. And I think time
and time again you see teams go through shooting drafts.
But when you can lock down a team as talented
offensively as Golden State, it speaks volumes for what you're
gonna be able to do going forward. And if Golden

(20:07):
State can't extend their defense, clearly can't go out there
and play, you know, valuable minutes With Andre Iguodala and
Draymond Green at the floor at the same time, they're
gonna need somebody else to step up alongside Steph Curry.
Clay Thompson wasn't that guy. In Game one, Jordan Pool
looked like the moment might be too big for him,
and the Celtics did it despite Jayson Tatum really struggling
to shoot the basketball. That being said, I don't think

(20:29):
Boston goes into Game two going you know, it would
be great. Al Horford is not gonna go for twenty plus.
He's gonna go for thirty plus to carry us. I
think Boston wins the series in my opinion. It's just
a question if it goes five or maybe goes six.
Games coming back to San Francisco, so m V p ods,
Steph Curry was far and away the favorite, and all
I've heard today is all the scenarios based on scoring

(20:51):
his thirty four points, that he's still the leader in
the clubhouse even though they lost. Uh. The standing for
him is insufferable at times, but realistically, what what are
we talking in terms of like a money pool? How
much money would have been bet on him? Yeah? I
mean Steff is going to be continue to be the
favorite and should rightfully so when you consider that if

(21:12):
Golden State's gonna win this series, Steph has to be
their best player. I don't see a scenario where the
Warriors can win this best to seven with him not
being the key cog for everything they do. Now, of course,
with Boston winning Game one, you see odds shorten on
Jayson Tatum, you see odds shorten on Jalen Brown. Al
Horford comes way down, Marcus Smart as well, because we
know how rare it is for a player on a

(21:34):
losing team to take home that hardware. But there's a
direct correlation, no doubt about it. When you're talking about
Steph Curry's price and Golden State, right now plus one
fifty to win that series. I just don't think there's
a scenario that can play out where the Warriors are
able to come back and it's Clay Thompson or Draymond
Green doing some of the dirty work. It's got to

(21:54):
be Step scoring to thirty a night, and that explains
why he was the main repper resentitive as far as
the Lion's share of handle early on. Let me so,
in terms of player props as we go for it,
is there any way to bet on the plus minus
banking on guys like Jordan Polonato Porter to have like

(22:16):
really terrible negatives because they can't defend. I mean, you
can bet on leading score for the series more than
anything else, but you can't dig too far into some
of the other minutia as far as the other statistical
categories in terms of those guys being represented. But to
your point, I think Steve Kurris got to try and
figure out who is optimal five is going to be,

(22:36):
especially when you're talking about six eight minutes remaining in
a game and Golden State can't go through an offensive
drought much like we saw in Game one, because this
thing will be over but long before it started, alright, Todd,
So then what kind of odds you give me? Because
here's what I want. I want to take this my parlay,
here's my party, because I know how badly the voters
want to do this. I want to take Boston in

(22:56):
a sweep. But Steph Curry is somehow the VP because
I know, you know, the voters want to give it
to him. So that's what I wanted. What kind of
what Boston wins fors it? But somehow Steph Curry is
the m v P. Yeah, I'll be able to give
you north of fifty to one because I don't see
any way that that scenario can play out unless Steff
is averaging forty points per game or some a ghastly

(23:18):
number being the only guy that Boston has to worry
about on the defensive side. But to your point, I mean, hey, look,
we know that staff. This is the one piece of
hardware missing from his catalog and during the course of
his illustrious tenure as a member of the Golden State Warriors.
But no, if the Celtics were to sweep this series,
I can't see a scenario where Steph Curry is getting
m v P. Just wait, I'm telling you that the

(23:39):
voters want to give it to him, They've been dying
to give it to him for years. He's gonna get it.
It's gonna happen. They're gonna try and do everything they
possibly can to make it happen. I just don't think
it's going to be possible. Now, Todd, let me let
me ask you in magas. Right now, obviously we got
the NBA Finals, uh, And is everybody else just heads
down starting to work their numbers and magic building the

(24:01):
algorithms for the NFL. What else is drawing action right now?
It's the NBA is kind of the leader, and then
the NHL create a little bit of buzz. But the
Rangers storyline, knowing that they are a national brand, will
generate a little bit more betting handle. But for the
most part, it's going to be those two sports. You've
seen some books starting to get into the college football
game and hang numbers for Week one and some of

(24:23):
the bigger Markey matchups during the season, But this is
kind of the dog days of summer. Unfortunately, with the
World Cup push back to November, you don't have that
kind of international sporting event to dominate in the sports
book during the summer months. So once the NBA and
NHL go dark, Uh, it'll really be the dormant period
and you'll be talking about waiting for NFL football the
kickoff in August. Alright, So Todd, now, because I've been

(24:45):
waiting to talk to you about this, I know you're
gonna have a unique perspective on it. Where do you fall?
What's your big takeaway from the Jack Peterson Tommy Fam
Mike Trout is the worst commissioner in fantasy football history.
Story from this week that I just want to know
much money these guys are actually playing for it. Hopefully
it's life changing style cash for them. But with Mike
Trout as the commissioner, knowing he makes substantially more uh

(25:08):
than some of the other members that have been mentioned publicly. Uh,
you know, you lead you to wonder how much money
Tommy Fam has lost lost in a number of trips
to Las Vegas and some of the adult establishments that
he's been known to frequent in the past. So much
so that you can infuriate some of the people around
you and get yourself stabbed in the process. Well, yeah,
that is true. He does have a history and he

(25:29):
talks about liking to fight, So maybe eventually I'll challenge
Logan Paul or something. Hey, everybody's looking for a pay
day in the off season. That is the incredible part.
The other thing I was gonna say, and listening to
Jock Peterson talks so eloquently about what transpired, there is
no way that Jack Peterson has ever won the scripts
National Spelling Be given the vocabulary he used to try

(25:51):
and address this ridiculous situation that's unfolded in terms of
fantasy football. He's on Twitter at Todd Ferman, that is
at Todd for e been our Vegas insider Todd as always, buddy,
thanks for taking time with us tonight. Have a great
week and we'll talk to you next week. You got it,
And hopefully, for your sake, Smiths and Mets don't go
into Chevez Ravine and come away winless after four games.

(26:12):
He's going tomorrow, Todd. Yeah, I've I've already, I've already
come to come to terms with that. That that's what's
gonna happen, that we're gonna go. Hold. This is what
happens when you don't get to play the Nationals every
single day during the month of Apris what happens, Larry,
this is what happens. Thank you very much to see buddy. Yeah.
Now I've done, Mike, I've really, I've I've I've come

(26:33):
to terms with the fact that we're gonna lose tomorrow
because you know, Walker Bueller's pitching and the Mets have
scored one run in the last two games. Now I've
come to we're gonna lose tomorrow. So I'm gonna go
and spend whatever money I want to on gear and
I'm gonna get helmet, nachos and ice cream, and that's
gonna be my day. And that that's what I'm gonna
be excited about. You know what, You're gonna find. You're
happy in one of the great places of our sporting

(26:56):
universe because Chavez Ravine is a is a beautiful play,
is nice intersection of all the good folks of Los Angeles.
I think it'll be a good time. I'm excited. You'll
be hammered. I'm excited. Well, I don't. I don't know.
I'd be drunk on nachos. That's number one cheese. We'll
give me more cheese. Can I get more cheese? That, sir?
I could put more chas on. Okay, it's like Homer Simpson.

(27:19):
Is that enough? Keep going, keep going, listen. I want
a helmet nachos, right, and then I want another helmet
that's just cheese. What what? Yes? Fill it all the
way to the top with just cheese so I can
dunk everything here and put it in there. Do you
think they would sell that to me? Could I buy
a helmet full of just nacho cheese for like twenty bucks?
I have no doubt. Just cheese. That's all I want.

(27:40):
So I get to so I get to that. I
think that would be an interesting thing. You go up
there and make sure you're videotaping it, do it like
an Al frank And mobile unit where you're broadcasting it
to your internet stream, you know, under cover of night,
and just be like, you know what, I don't want
any of the chips. I can't have the chips because
I can't have the carbs, but I can have the

(28:01):
sodium of the cheese straw and can you put it
in my night? Three Mets helmet day helmet. I brought
my own helmet. Will you do that for me? Thank you?
But this is Dodger Stadium, but the Mets are here sir.
This is a Wendy's outside. Just give me chee, sir.
This is a life size batting helmet. This is an actual,

(28:23):
real batting helmet. Yeah, it's been worn. It's got like
patting inside and stuff. Yeah. Just fill it with cheese. Man.
But it's got holes in the side. I don't care.
I'll put my hands on the side to keep the
cheese from coming out. Just put the cheese in it.
Just fill it with cheese. Be sure to catch live

We've talked a lot about the Warriors in their uh

(29:54):
dismissiveness towards losing Game one, Draymond Green basically saying, most
of the guys who played well for the Celtics aren't
that good, and you really want to see the Warriors
get some come up and it's four. Their cockiness coming
off a Game one loss, especially when they got beat
in such a way, we have not really seen in
NBA Finals history a twelve point lead at home of

(30:16):
Game one going to the fourth quarter. Not only do
they lose, they lose by twelve. It's shocking. So all right,
on the service, I get a little bit of there,
it's fine. It's fine, it's not a big deal. We've
been here before. Yeah, you're in trouble. But I will
say this for game to Mike, I'm gonna I'll give
you my bold prediction right for this series. Game two,
the Warriors win to keep it a series, whether they

(30:39):
have a big advantage of the free throw line or uh.
They win to keep it a series, and it's the
last win they have in the NBA Finals. They win
and one going back to Boston, and that's the last
win of the series. I dig that. That's hot. Take theater.
That'll get people upset. That'll be fantastic. Good for you.

(31:00):
I mean, it's too bad it's really late on Friday
because that would show up tomorrow. We'll make sure you
tweet the hell out of that. I'll tweet it out
right now and I'll retweet it, and you out there,
wherever you are in any town, USA, you'll retweet it
at How about a Fresco at Swallen Dome and so
on and so on and so on. Uh, yeah, I

(31:21):
think the Warriors get Game two. Uh, you saw the
spread was what three and a half or four last
I looked at it, so expecting a little more help
from the referees, not that we're we're calling for chaos
and and the craziness that some suspect happens on behalf
of the Warriors. But all it takes is an extra

(31:43):
call here or there to change things up. I did
like the video Marcus Smart talking about playing defense uh
in the huddle, UH talking about the open shots they
got in Game one in the first quarter. So I
think they ratcheted up a little bit too offensively in
Key one. But what that might mean is a little

(32:04):
bit of space fun trickles open uh in the fourth quarter.
I'm curious to see how Jordan's pool responds because he's
been such a big piece of what the Warriors do
all year and he just looked absolutely lost in Game one.
And as I finished that analysis, Jason, I must point
out that Vincent Price is trending on Twitter. He would

(32:28):
have been a hundred and eleven years old today. I
think Vincent Price, I think that's why he's trinding it. It
It would be a hunter. What about Brett Mussburger, What
the hell? It's not his birthday? No, but he got
fired or got our mutually agreed to part ways or
something like that. He's no longer to be the Raiders,
uh Raiders analysts. Yeah, looking for you know, the thing

(32:51):
is about this. You mentioned Jordan Pool and you know,
we talked to Rick Bucker the other you know, last night,
and he said, you can definitely tell that Steve Kerr
is lacking in trust in some of his younger players.
And and Moody had no time whatsoever. And Gary Payton
was clear to come back and he didn't play and didn't.

(33:12):
I have to question whether he's actually cleared or not.
But that's a whole other I don't know that Steve
Kerr has a choice if he wants to keep this
series going other than going to the younger guys and
hoping they can give him something. Because defensively, the Celtics
are gonna be able to hammer Clay and Steph and

(33:32):
keep them from getting shots right. That's what it's. It's
keeping them from getting the clean looks. And that's why
I don't worry as much about the getting them to
the free throw line, because it's gonna be about limiting
the open looks because that's what the Warriors offense does.
It allows Steph and Clay to shoot wide open all
the time. It's how do they like. It's like, how
is Rob Gronkowski running down the field open all the time? Right?

(33:53):
How do they wind up getting open? No, they run
the team that way, but Boston is really adept when
they when they need to, when it gets to be
winning time of being able to shut that off from
the Golden State Warriors. So I don't know that Steve
Kerr has got a choice. He has to play the
younger guys and hopes that he gets something and hope
that he finds a mismatch somewhere that they can exploit
because it's something that the Celtics aren't ready for and

(34:14):
can't adjust to on the fly. Yeah. I think that
when you when you look at it the review of
Andrea goodal good to see him out there, great story obviously,
his history, uh and he for everybody that wants to
point it, Stephen, his would be finals m v P.
You look over at Andrea Gadal, He's like, I got one. Uh,
so you've got that going. But he can't play twelve

(34:35):
minutes again, right, Those young guys with the pogo legs,
they gotta find some minutes, even if they don't have
the history of some of these veterans Twitter, and how
about a fresco Mike gets swollen down The Jason Smith
