Speaker 2 (00:22):
Let's give this part. You're listening to Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 1 (00:29):
Oh my goodness, drama at the crypt. The Lakers lead
the Spurs one eighteen one sixteen, one point two seconds
left to go. They're in a timeout on the floor.

Speaker 2 (00:45):
The reason.

Speaker 1 (00:47):
It's still a game because the Lakers that hit their
free throws is because the Spurs down four one eighteen
one fourteen with twelve seconds left to go in the game.
They take a couple of threes and they miss, all right,
So a couple of threes they miss, they get a
rebound under the hoop that goes in for a bucket

(01:09):
with one point two seconds left, So all the Lakers
have to do is inbound the basketball. They're gonna win
the game. One point two seconds left. Lakers up one
to eighteen one sixteen. Marcus Smart grabs the basketball, sees
one of his teammates down court wide open. He decides,

(01:30):
I'm gonna throw the ball all the way down court.
I couldn't tell who it was because he's all alone
under the hoop, and that's gonna kill the clock and
the game's gonna end. He grabs the ball really quick,
takes a step out of bounds, throws the ball all
the way down court. It's successful, but the rest blow
the whistle. Marcus Smart stepped in bounds with his left foot.

(01:53):
It's a turnover. Instead of throwing the ball down court,
he steps on the court turns it over. So now
the Spurs are gonna inbound the basketball with one point
two seconds left in the game. And I don't know
why he did it, because he had all kinds of time.
It's not like, hey, I got a guy breaking open
deep down down under the basket, like there's nobody else around.

(02:16):
They're all the Spurs are all within fifteen feet of
the basket, because that's where all the Lakers players are.
He had time to just take a step back, easily
chuck it down court and they win the game. He
didn't need to rush like he did, but he steps
in bounds to throw the ball down court, and he's like,
what is he doing? So now potentially he has given
the Spurs a chance to tie this game, or send

(02:39):
it to overtime, or win the game with a three,
because instead of just an easy inbound play, the Spurs
have the basketball. Now with one last chance, he goes.

Speaker 3 (02:48):
For the you know, the home run throw doesn't get
the second foot back out of bounds. So inbounding attempts
from the Spurs, they had one that got knocked out
of bound, get a redo and they put point four
back on the clock, so they get one more look
at it down too.

Speaker 1 (03:07):
So with the with the inbounds play that gets knocked
out of bounds. Okay, So the Spurs try to inbound
to get a shot at the end, it gets knocked
out of bounds. The officials put four tenths of a
second back on the clock. They throw one of those
alley you plays where you can all you have time

(03:29):
for is to grab it and tip it, and the
Spurs tip misses. However, they called a foul on the play,
and now they're looking back at it to see if
it was a foul. They called a foul which would
send it to get it in within five seconds either though,

(03:50):
so they're looking at that too better. Okay, okay, So
what we know is what absolutely happened was that they
call they called a foul on the play. I believe
they called them on La Ravia for coming over the
back and the Spurs will be shooting free throws that
could send the game to overtime. However, now they're looking

(04:12):
at its final play of the game. Maybe they're looking
at getting it in five seconds. Maybe they're looking at
the fact was it actually a foul?

Speaker 4 (04:18):
Uh?

Speaker 1 (04:19):
Did La Ravia actually make contact going up? So they're
looking at that right now. But the call on the
floor is a foul on the inbounds and the Spurs
going to the free throw line. This would be such
an epic joke by the Lakers in this game. A
four point lead with one point two second, with one

(04:39):
point two seconds left, and you're gonna could wind up
going to overtime.

Speaker 3 (04:43):
Yeah, but if my guy goes and hits two free throws,
you don't we get free bask Can we do get
free beat?

Speaker 1 (04:47):
Bad for the Lakers?

Speaker 3 (04:49):
Yeah? Well, I mean it's five minutes to prove your superiority.

Speaker 1 (04:52):
I've never seen anything like this where Marcus Smart steps
in bounds when he throws the ball down court when
he didn't have to, and now he there is a
foul on the inbounds play. All they have is a tip. Look,
if you're the Lakers, you have to you have to
pack the paint because that's the only play you have
with four tenths of a second is Hey, I gotta
throw it up and hope a guy can run in,

(05:13):
grab it and and tip the ball in. And instead
the Lakers have a couple of players in La Ravia's
got to come in from behind. Great a great inbounds
pass by the Spurs. La Ravia comes in from behind,
and it looks like it's a foul. They're still looking
at it right now, and we could wind up seeing
free throws, this game going overtime. Absolute insanity.

Speaker 3 (05:31):
Then Mark is Smart mould have made sense if they
were trailing right the Hey, I got the ball, Let's
try to work fast and you're not watching your feet.
You're just trying to get to the ball, and the
ball down court. We see that in play all the time.
In this case, it's a game ender man, just mind,
mind your space. Although half the time the referees aren't
looking at what your feet are doing on inbounds. It's

(05:52):
just to assume play. It's got of like a throw
in in soccer, but this time you got guy. So
the Spurs are at the free throw Oh my good Okay,
this is just insane. Now the officials review. The foul
occurred with point two seconds left on the clock. Okay,
so the foul curd Yeah, there was time left.

Speaker 1 (06:13):
It was a foul. There's time left on the clock.
Spurs go to the free throw line and they missed
the first free throw. Yeah, and now all you can
hope for is some sort of crazy bounce and a
tip in with point two seconds left.

Speaker 3 (06:27):
And now you have the crazy agitator that is Marcus
Smart behind the free throw shooter, screaming, gesturing and running
his mouth. It's just about he got off the hook, yeah, Champan,
he misses the misses the free throw. No, Spurs actually
get two shots at it and they can't make it.
Oh my goodness.

Speaker 1 (06:45):
The Lakers escape one eighteen one sixteen thiss.

Speaker 3 (06:49):
Is one way you grab your title belt, will run
back to the locker room.

Speaker 1 (06:52):
Yeah, that's the honester for a sec.

Speaker 5 (06:54):
I really wanted to mind it with this team being
exciting like this without Lebron James if it went to overtime,
but it's.

Speaker 1 (07:00):
Not, No, man, I really Champenny Misses makes a good
shot because it gets a good bounce off the off
the rim, and the Spurs get two chances at it,
and they really almost got the tip on the first one.
It was a great It was a great tip that
almost went, but uh, off the back board, gets knocked
off the backboard. The second tip would have been after

(07:22):
the buzzer, but that first tip.

Speaker 3 (07:24):
Would have gone in that he gets a give an
angle on it, but he got to the ball and yeah,
what a wild fin?

Speaker 1 (07:31):
Real question?

Speaker 5 (07:31):
Real?

Speaker 4 (07:32):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (07:32):
Yeah? How much do you think Lebron paid the refs
to make it that more interesting? There? Hey, man, I
gotta come back at some point. They don't want me
back if they're winning, because I'm just gonna screw everything up.
You guys got this ot we lose?

Speaker 3 (07:44):
Yeah, look at that smile from Luca Dodge. It says
he walks over to do the post game because he
was incensed when that fall got He was losing his mind.

Speaker 5 (07:54):
Honest?

Speaker 1 (07:54):
How fun was this? The end?

Speaker 5 (07:57):
Is?

Speaker 1 (07:57):
This was this was. This was probably the best game
of the year in the NBA so far. It was
close all the way through. We had craziness at the end.
That's the game of the year in the NBA. It's
absolute game of the year.

Speaker 3 (08:07):
Yeah, we go day to day. I usually flush him
and move forward. We'll have to start keeping full rankings
like the two seventy two I do with the NFL.
But this, this was a thriller for a Wednesday night.
Here's your marquee matchup that lives up to all the hype.
I mean made a lot of these usually leave us
wanting either someone's not playing or someone has it off night.
Luca didn't shoot particularly well, but it didn't matter. Did

(08:30):
everything else.

Speaker 1 (08:30):
Yeah, Luca tonight his numbers doing the interview right now
in forty two minutes, thirty five thirteen assists, nine rebounds,
five steals, two blocks. Still think Wemby's the MVP. He
had more steals in blocks than Wemby did tonight. Wemby
only had one blot. No, it was a big fund.
That was a good one, but it's been moved Dateton

(08:51):
thinking he had him before we get to Lebron. I
will say this the ending of this game was insane,
and I'd like to see it end with, you know,
a team making a big shop, and instead it was boy,
the Lakers throw up on themselves, then they throw up
on themselves again, and then the Spurs throw up on themselves.
So there's a lot of throwing up on them first hand,
but it was still entertaining. I got news for you.

(09:12):
The NBA MVP race this year is gonna be a
two man race with Luca and Wemby. That's the way
it's gonna be. Look, we're a stats driven league in
the NBA. We like to see the numbers. We like storylines,
but Luca versus Wemby. You see the numbers that Luca's
putting up already through the first part of the season,
forty point games, doing everything while Lebron is out. Wemby

(09:35):
just stuns you every single night. He is a highlight
reel every night for Wemby seems to be like a
twenty eight, seventeen, twelve and seven. I mean not tonight tonight.
He didn't have a big night, but the Spurs did
have seven guys in double figure tonight, so they were
so they were really spread out tonight, and the Spurs
had a great start to the season, but you have
the Lakers now at seven and two and the Spurs

(09:57):
getting there only their second loss of the season. Wemby
and Luca are the two guys that are gonna cut through,
that are gonna give us all sorts of different highlights
and different things to see every night that we haven't
seen in the last couple of years. Because look at
the other guys that are there for MVP, right, Sga
is right up there, But is he really gonna do
stuff incredible that we didn't see him do last year?

(10:19):
We've seen Jokics do the great triple double thing. Okay,
that's great from Jokich, right, Tyrese Maxi may be a
big highlight guy, but if the seventies, if he's doing
the same kind of things that Luca's doing and Luca's
doing him better, I can't see him jumping into the
top of the MVP race. So I look at what
we're gonna see on a nightly basis, and it's gonna
be the marvel at Wemby, the marvel at Luca carrying

(10:39):
the Lakers because it's something that we just we like
new stuff. Everybody likes new stuff. Everybody likes storyline, and
this is what we're getting so far. It's gonna be
Wemby and Luca all season.

Speaker 3 (10:49):
Yeah, as you look at the current MVP odds and
they just showed a graphic Luka Dancics with two hundred
points scored in his first five games of the year.

Speaker 1 (10:56):
The only guy who eclipsed that. Will Chamberlain did it?

Speaker 5 (10:59):
Is that good?

Speaker 1 (11:00):
Say, it's not bad. It's not bad at all. It's
a lot of fun.

Speaker 3 (11:03):
And and he can go in and wave and maybe
he gets to steal Lebron's jacket that he was wearing. Oh, okay,
and then they put it on the court and they
play chess.

Speaker 1 (11:11):
No that that that could be a new thing, you
know how Like the Blue Jays had the jacket for
the home runs everything right, Like the guy that has
the biggest game gets Lebron's jet trident and they do
that in the NBA. Hey, you get Lebron's jacket that
he wears your show, he's could probably get you get
Lebron's jacket.

Speaker 3 (11:29):
Go current odds SGA at plus two twenty. Okay, cool,
they lost to the Blazers today, that should cost him. Yeah,
when Miyama plus three thirty, Luca at plus four hundred,
Jokics plus five fifty, Yannis at plus six fifty. Uh,
and then you've got let's see the next on the
board at plus seventy five Anthony Town. No, it's it's

(11:52):
Donovan Mitchell, who was inspired by some trash talker on
NBA two K.

Speaker 1 (11:56):
He scored out of forty six. He's scored forty six
to nights after the game because guy told him he
was washed up on.

Speaker 3 (12:02):
Highlights for you, I get nothing from you.

Speaker 1 (12:06):
You're talking about all right on that one's for you.

Speaker 3 (12:10):
So he got and then you're you're looking at what
Tyrese Maxie is forty to one. That's it, and then
it really drifts from there.

Speaker 1 (12:18):
Yeah, he'll uh. I think he'll move up a little bit.
People start seeing what he does a little bit more
carrying the team. The Lakers now at seven and two.
It's the best record by any lebron lead roster over
a nine game stretch without him.

Speaker 3 (12:33):
So there's a picture of him on the graphic. They've
met Jacket, they've missed him for times in the past.
This is their best record without him so far this season.

Speaker 1 (12:42):
They've been fun to watch.

Speaker 3 (12:44):
Man like game after game seven and two, and like
the record obviously huge, right we put that, but like
just from a visceral response to watching this team play,
there's a flow to it. Yeah, right there, there's an energy.
Luca losing his mind after that first miss free throw.
You're telling me, you know a game here in it's

(13:05):
the fifth of November, that he's that jacked up about
a game this early in a season. He knows what's
being written, he knows all the the long, long winded
daya tribes.

Speaker 1 (13:16):
That are gonna be out there. So here you have it.
Lakers win the game of the year so far in
the NBA one eighteen one sixteen coming up next. You're
gonna think what we're gonna say about Lebron James and
the Lakers are hot takes, but they're really not. I'll
tell you one. I really wonder if he's ever gonna
play for the Lakers again. He had a good run.
I really wonder after all the stuff that's going on

(13:38):
in the Lakers success, he still ows you pizza again.
We yes, he does. We get into what you think
it's gonna be hot takes about Lebron and the Lakers,
but it's not It's crazy. It's next Jason and Mike

Speaker 1 (14:34):
Fox Sports Radio Jason Smith Mike Harmon Live. As we
just saw the early game of the year in the
NBA Lakers and the Spurs, Lakers try to hand the
game to the Spurs not once, but twice in the
final five seconds with a four point lead. On a
night where Luka Doncic had a huge night, we talked

(14:56):
about his numbers. Wemby has a nice night, but not
a big Wemby nighty five out nineteen points, but Spurs
did have seven players in double figures.

Speaker 3 (15:04):
It also shows you're not a superstar yet if they're
following you out.

Speaker 1 (15:07):
Man, hey man, I'm Wemby. You still have to earn this. Well.
He almost followed out Luca. I mean Luca had miles,
Like dude, No one that's sixth was never coming out.
No one comes to the game to watch you blow
the whistles on Wemby and Luca. I just want to
let you know nobody does but to pull the curtain bag.
It was funny.

Speaker 3 (15:25):
Right in the final seconds there was a great play
a pass. Hachimura driving the baseline gets hacked and sent
to the line, but he was going in for the
ultimate flush and I'm in the back and Shay, who's
working on editing Forrest tonight and working for the sound,
he just starts screaming, goes.

Speaker 1 (15:42):
You journey visit. You took away.

Speaker 3 (15:44):
The highlight of the game, like I can't cut free throws.

Speaker 1 (15:50):
So the Lakers are up four with ten seconds left,
Spurs have the ball. It's been a close game throughout.
The Lakers up the erase an eight point deficit in
the fourth quarter, and the Spurs miss a couple of
threes before they get to put back. With one point
two seconds left on the clock, Marcus Smart grabs the basketball,
sees a teammate far down court, chucks it down court.

(16:14):
Game over right, one point two seconds got to catch
the ball, except Marcus Smart screws up. He steps in
bounds with his left foot, throwing the ball down court.
Turn over with one point two seconds left. The pass
was great, though good good depth, Ye, great pass mean

(16:35):
absolute great great arm strength, great pass. But it's like, hey,
it's a great pass. But if you step out of
bounds and you throw the ball, you step over the
line of scrimmage. Uh So they turn it over to
the Spurs. One point two seconds left. The Spurs try
to inbounds, Lakers knock it out of bounds. Officials go

(16:56):
back and put four tenths of a second on the clock.
Now the Lakers are still try to get past this
huge Marcus Smart brain cramp. All the Spurs can do
is throw one of those alleyute blob plays in the
paint and hope for a tip in. Jampanye goes in
and gets fouled. With point two seconds left on the clock.
La Ravia hits them from behind. He goes to the

(17:18):
free throw line with point two seconds left. If he
hits them both, we go to overtime. He misses the
first free throw and Crypto is going nuts.

Speaker 4 (17:30):
Now.

Speaker 1 (17:32):
The last play they have with two tenths of a
second left is to miss on purpose and hope to
get a tip in. Here's the thing, Jampany misses, they
get a tip, does it go in top? It's time,
It's over. It's over. Lakers TV on the call. Johnson

(17:54):
gets a hand on it and just tips it a
little too far. Clock hits zero b the Lakers win one,
eighteen one sixteen, and you see Luca and his teammates
laughing with each other like can you believe the end
of this game? And I'm watching Lebron laugh a little
bit the end of the bench as well. Lebron of
course still not playing. And we got into it a

(18:15):
little bit before, but now it's time to get this
stuff about Lebron James that you think is a hot take,
but it's not. You know, talking to Rick Bucker last hour,
and and you know, we brought up to him about
Lebron being on the sideline of this game and he says.
You know, he's just kind of at the end, not
talking to anybody. He's just kind of there. It's awkward.
You see the Lakers win tonight. They're having fun with

(18:37):
each other. They're running up and down the court. They
look like they're playing free with confidence. Right, we've talked
about this now a few days ago, and now you know,
we get back into it now and people will steal
the take for tomorrow. So just understand that the Lakers
are Luca Austin Reeves. Driven. Reeves has stepped up to
become what you like me to say, the Scottie Pippen

(18:58):
to Luca's Jordan. When Lebron comes back, he's gonna wind
up being the third option. But here's the thing. This
Lakers team is really humming along without him. There's no
ball stopping with Lebron like there will be. You have
guys that are making contributions that would not make any
contributions with Lebron on the court because he needs the

(19:20):
basketball so much. You're not gonna get the contributions that
you're getting from ruy Hachimuror who had fifteen tonight, Right,
Marcus Smart seventeen five and five you're not getting that.
You know, you're not getting Hayes with nine and four
off the bench being a guy that actually takes a
couple of shots in the game. That's not happening, man,
it just isn't. You're you know, La Ravia, who's like

(19:40):
a ten to five guy that he's become since he's
starting to play more minutes in the starting lineup the Lakers,
and because of the way this offense is run, they're
using their players more and what looked like a bunch
of guys seems like, hey, we got to look out
for now. Hey, this addition of Marcus Smart was pretty good.
This is now building a team around Luca and Reeves,

(20:01):
who has stepped up to become an elite star. This
team is now playing really well. What kind of role
is Lebron James gonna have when and if he comes back?
And I say if, because tonight we find out he's
just progressed to playing five on five with Skyattica or whatever.
He was sitting out this early part of the season,

(20:22):
and he's not gonna accompany them on the upcoming five
game road trip. So we're gonna get near game twenty
of the of the NBA season. Really before he say
before Lebron's gonna come back if he's just getting to
five on five. Now he's not going on the road trip.
We're at nine games, we're at fourteen or fifteen games.
When they come back home for the next time, when
is he gonna play? Is he gonna play? I've said

(20:44):
from the beginning, it's so awkward with Lebron and the team,
with how this offseason went, with Lebron opting in and
and all the different message he tried to send by
working out at the Clippers facility and the Cavs facility,
and you know, he side they would love to be
able to move on from the other, but Lebron opts
in and they couldn't move them. They weren't gonna buy

(21:07):
them out, so you're kind of stuck. But after all
of this, and the main thing is seeing Lebron not
be treated as an alpha for the first time in
his NBA career because he's not coming back, and suddenly, hey,
I'm getting the basketball. It's me and Luca, Like if
the Lakers they're winning, this is working. The Spurs were
really good and they want to winning a big game
to seven and two is seven and two. Right, have

(21:28):
they played the big titans of the of the game. No,
but they've played a couple of really good teams. And again,
seven and two is seven and two. And they won
a couple of these games without even Luca. When Austin
Reads stepped up to score forty and fifty points, Hey
won this one without Austin reed this This Lakers team
is pretty good. They got things going on pretty good
right now. So again I say to myself, I can't
see Lebron actually coming out here and being the third

(21:51):
option or being such a supporting player when he has
been a personality that has stirred the drink of the
end for twenty years. He's never not been the biggest
alpha now coming into this year, him and Luca. Yeah,
I'm sure Lebron can say, well, I could share things
with Luca. He's the future, but we get to the
playoffs when games matter, I get the ball, I make

(22:13):
the big shots. I can see him living with that.
But this situation now where he's gonna come back and
it's gonna be dude, he been great for so long,
but we've all kind of figured stuff out without you,
and we're all having fun we're laughing. You don't see
a lot of that with Lebron. You don't see the
Lakers in there and their body language like it is
when Lebron is playing. You don't see any of that,
and you're seeing it now. I mean it what kind

(22:34):
of role if he does ever come back, because I
can see him not sitting and shy boy, I'll come
back if the Lakers hit the skids, because that's the
only way he can show I can add to this team.
But he doesn't want to come back until then because
if he comes back and the Lakers start losing, they're
gonna say, dude, it's your fault. And if you want
to get traded at the deadline to the Cavaliers or
the Knicks, or the or the Mavericks or someplace else

(22:57):
or the Golden State Warriors, we got to show them
you're actually helping the team. Like I mean, I don't
know when we're gonna see Lebron James play for the
Lakers again. I don't know why I still can't visualize
seeing him play because right now, if he came back
like it could be worse for the team than him
actually playing. And you would think that would have been
a hot take at some point, but it really isn't.

Speaker 3 (23:18):
Well the reality comes and smashing the face stue bad.
It's no longer on TNT because as you know, they
knew drama. Yeah, unfortunately we don't get that tagline anymore.
I don't think it traveled with them. But the curiosity
in all this, right we saying Reeves didn't play tonight.
You get one hundred and eighteen points. You get contributions
all over the map, some big moments. Obviously you had

(23:40):
the brain freeze moment of Marcus Smart. But he's a guy,
he's a good agitator and from what you see, there's
an energy right when he's on the court. La Ravia
has the fall here a bit of a touch situation.
I think the aftermath after they're flying towards the basket
a lot looked a lot worse than it was, but
the ca made you get the call. But you're getting

(24:02):
good contribution from him. You're you're spreading the ball. You
got all these guys in double figures and it's moving,
it's flowing, and Luca didn't shoot particularly well, but lived
at the file line took care of that, distributing the
ball well and so you've got to try to figure
out exactly what Lebron is. Look, he made it unnecessarily
complicated by opting back in when they weren't going to

(24:23):
give him a multi year deal, So that's on him.
He could have gone and found another place to play.
Wouldn't have made fifty two million Lebron. Look, it's awful
hard to walk away from that.

Speaker 7 (24:33):
See.

Speaker 1 (24:33):
The thing is Lebron if he would just be okay,
because nobody would say anything to him. If he took
less money, no one would say and he's made so
much money in his career. If he said, you know what,
I'm opting out because I want to go somewhere where
I would be somewhere where I know we can win
the title and I don't need to get paid a lot,
but you can't. King's welcome.

Speaker 4 (24:57):
God.

Speaker 1 (24:57):
Yeah, look, this is this is how it works. I
I will take less money. I want to go back
to Cleveland. I want here. But clearly Lebron wants everything
his way. No, I'm gonna take fifty one million. I'm
never gonna take less. Okay, Well, you realize that eventually
you pay the piper on this. Eventually you wind up
paying if you want to keep playing, and you want
to keep doing things your way, well when you're not.

(25:18):
When when he's been off the court, the Lakers are
figuring out things without you. Now it gets even more awkward.
How about Lebron coming back?

Speaker 3 (25:24):
How many people you think they employ a clutch sports?
So when he goes on the interwebs, he gets servers
that only say positive things about him.

Speaker 1 (25:32):
Yeah, heye, Lebron, get on this computer right here, but
I wanted on that. No, no, don't go on that one.
That one's down where you can't be on that. Get
on this one right here.

Speaker 3 (25:38):
I'm really having trouble mirroring all these different sites.

Speaker 1 (25:41):
Man, this is so good. The alternate steven A universe
we have to build is huge. But just just think
about how awkward it's going to be when he does
come back. He's not coming back. Makers are whinning here,
but you should never come back. Here's the thing, right,
this is this is why you're like again, I can
envision it, right, I can envision because I like the chaos.

(26:04):
They're not going to buy him out, right, they're not
going to buy him out.

Speaker 5 (26:07):
It's already so awkward that he had to crash DeAndre
Ayton's postgame interview just to get his voice out there.

Speaker 1 (26:12):
I know, I know, and like I said, it's really
awkward for him, but I would bet you this, Lebron
is banking now. I'll come back when the Lakers hit
the skids, because that's the only time I can prove
that they need me. When happening, He's already said he's
not going on the road trip. He can wait it out. Many,
he's gonna cut five. He's five on five. He's going

(26:35):
to a pickup game at the Wye. You could get
to games twenty five and third, Hey, the Lakers are
twenty five and seven. Lebron still Now, we don't need Lebron.
Let's let's let's let him get healthy. Let him get healthy.
Hold so I hold, because you know Lebron is going
to be creative about this. And I don't think it's
any coincidence that here on a night where the Lakers
started out well, they win again. Luca is great. He says,
oh yeah, yeah, not back for I'll not going on

(26:55):
the road trip. Like he knows two things. I'll come
back if they're not playing well, I can come back,
and then I can slowly get myself back in here.
But if he's gonna understand that at some point he's
gonna finish his career elsewhere than Los Angeles, this is
not gonna be his last year. If he still has
enough that he can add to a team, he's got

(27:16):
to show that you're okay trading for me, because you
gotta make the salaries match. And you're not just gonna
send somebody dead cap salary. You're gonna send a player
or two that means something. Now, it's not gonna be
you're upsetting your entire rotation, but you gotta make the
money work, which means, hey, you're gonna a team that
trades for Lebron, whether it's the Cavaliers or the Knicks, whoever,

(27:38):
it's gonna be the Warriors, they have to give up something.
That team's got to know that I'm getting a healthy Lebron.
I mean, I don't think at this point in his
career he's gonna be able to say, hey, listen, I've
just been sitting out because they didn't need me, and
I'm not getting out there and having myself get blamed
for losing. But I'm healthy. I'm fine. They're gonna say, no,
we really want to need we need to see it
from you a little bit. So that's the only thing

(27:58):
that tells me he's got to get back on the court,
if not to make the rest of the first half
of the season to the trade deadline. Hey, Lebron is
out there for you, and teams would be okay trading
and trading money and trading talent to go get them.
There's a new owner in town where money is no option,
I can afford to just say beat it. Yeah no,
But but gee Bus is still running. No, she doesn't

(28:19):
deal with.

Speaker 3 (28:19):
The money doing still running prints. Yeah, it's basically here's
the number. Let's make this work. But it's curious like
Lebron at this phase of his career, right, We talk
about in the NFL all the time, Hey are you
okay going from being the primary receiver to being the
guy that helps move the chains. Some receivers are okay
with that. Some guys always envision themselves that they're the

(28:39):
boundary X guy forever. It's never gonna change.

Speaker 1 (28:43):
It's the kid.

Speaker 3 (28:43):
It's the only child being told no for the first
time when they ask for something. Plenty of a movie
in TV, it's the smart kid in a small town
who goes to a bigger college and suddenly is not
the top student. Right. They're they're seen as just another
They're a jag, right, And you've got to either learn
that that's the new world order or you pout and

(29:05):
still try to find your way. Uh from Lebron James,
He's at that crossroads at this point with the way
this team is operating, and you've got the shiny new
toy in Luka Doncic that everything is being tailored around.
There's there's no Lebron billboards anymore, Luca, and your guy
reeves his.

Speaker 1 (29:24):
Presence on the Lakers roster is really awkward. And that's
not a hot take. That's crazy. But this is where
we are.

Speaker 5 (29:31):
You want to hear how awkward It's already gotten go
ahead from Lebron crash in interview by his.

Speaker 4 (29:37):
Head, so you know you can't be too surprised. And
I'm getting used to that as well, but you know,
it's truly fun to play with it.

Speaker 1 (29:43):
Surely, surely, how sound is that got here? I had
a big game shirt beat it, beat it. You and
your checkerboard jacket get out of here, because me I
am excited. I'm excited for my guy, go back to
your throw. Hey, hey, everybody, it's me. I'm back to
your mind effort.

Speaker 2 (30:03):
I don't need this now.

Speaker 1 (30:04):
I was so sad. Can we hear that again? Yeah,
go ahead, let's hear it.

Speaker 2 (30:06):
Go.

Speaker 4 (30:07):
That's good. You got eyes in the back of his head,
so he can't be too surprised. And I'm getting used
to that as well. But you know, it's truly fun
to play with it.

Speaker 1 (30:18):
I wanted to turn around and go, who is that?
Who is that? Who's that? Who's that yelling at? Who's that?
Whos that?

Speaker 2 (30:22):
Hey?

Speaker 1 (30:23):
Hug me, I'm still relevant. I'm still relevant. I'm still relevant. Well,
he made the thing right. I'm sure he's referring to
Luca right, be ready for the ball. He's got eyes
in the back of his head. It's like I got
eyes in the back of my head too. Lebron beat it.
His presence on the Lakers is so awkward right now.
Time How to find out what's trending in the wide
world of sports with someone who's presence is wonderful here

(30:44):
at Fox Sports Radio. Oh thank you.

Speaker 7 (30:46):
I would not be sitting next to you guys like
Lebron was sitting next to Austin Reeves just like this
with his arms crossed, looking upset for most of the game.

Speaker 2 (30:54):
When Austin Reeves is cheering and smiling.

Speaker 7 (30:56):
And yes, you're right, I would not handle it like Lebron. No,
I would be.

Speaker 1 (31:01):
I would be. I mean out with you guys on
the side. I also don't think quiet is your wheelhouse.

Speaker 7 (31:08):
I can be quiet, okay, okay, when I'm sleeping, Okay,
if I happen.

Speaker 1 (31:16):
To be in sure, I mean, you talk for a living,
So for all of us, we don't do quiet. You're right,
you're right.

Speaker 7 (31:27):
No, yeah, I just I'm just saying I maybe if
I'm asleep, maybe I talk in my sleep.

Speaker 6 (31:31):
So I don't know.

Speaker 7 (31:32):
Guys, what a wild night in the NBA, and not
because Lebron is being a little uh poop poop guy. Oh,
I was gonna say something worse, you know, being a
little you know what on the sideline for his team,
but you guys broke it down. Lakers and Spurs got wild,
but the Lakers survived one eighteen to one. Sixteen. LA
has won five in a row. They sit at the

(31:54):
top of the Western Conference. Right below okay, see Luka
Doncic thirty five points thirteen assists. Victor One Banyama fouled
out with about ninety seconds to go in the game.
He had nineteen points and eight rebounds at the end
of it, but really all of san antonio starters ended
in double digits. It looked like san Antonio was gonna
pull away with the way Lakers held on. Nikola Jokich

(32:16):
recorded his fifth triple double of the season. Nuggets defeated
the Heat, won twenty two to one twelve. Russell Westbrook
recorded a triple double himself as the short handed Kings
beat the short handed Warriors one twenty one to one.

Speaker 2 (32:29):
Sixteen.

Speaker 7 (32:30):
No undefeated teams left in the NBA Guys Trailblazers handed
okay See their first loss of the season, coming out
on top one twenty one to one nineteen. Shake Gilgess
Alexander did have thirty five points and nine rebounds in
the loss. The Nets got their first win of the season,
topping the Pacers won twelve to one.

Speaker 1 (32:44):
Oh three.

Speaker 7 (32:45):

ninety nine. Cooper Flag twenty points and nine rebounds on
the loss. Nick Screws passed. The timber was one thirty

in the Cavaliers outscored the seventy six ers one thirty
two to one twenty one. Also victories today for the

(33:06):
Rockets and the Celtics and the Pistons. When it comes
to the NHL, Alex Ovechkin has hit has scored nine
hundred career goals. Capitals crushed the Blues six to one,
Mammoth top of the Maple Leaves five to three, and
the Sharks speak the Kraken six to one. NFL News,
Cardinals have placed quarterback Kyler Murray on our ir because
of his foot injury.

Speaker 5 (33:27):
No CJ.

Speaker 7 (33:27):
Strod for the Texans this week. They're taking on Jacksonville.
He is still in concussion protocol. Davis Smills will get
the start on Sunday. You shoot see wide receiver Pukin
Nakua for the Rams this Sunday, despite that rib injury
that he suffered two weeks ago. And the Commanders are
still figuring out how to deal with Jayden Daniel's elbow injury,
including getting second opinions and Cameron Bynum who is the

(33:49):
safety for the Colts. He tweeted, I'm just putting this
out in case there's any Colts fans listening.

Speaker 2 (33:54):
He tweeted this today, not long ago.

Speaker 7 (33:57):
If anyone buys my jersey, mail it who are practice
facility with the return label, I'll sign it.

Speaker 1 (34:03):
I'll sign it and mail it back. That's really cool.

Speaker 7 (34:06):
So putting that out there in case, you know, and
people are.

Speaker 1 (34:10):
What all four of them got it? Lebron, would you say,
why why are you jumping on?

Speaker 6 (34:17):
Hey?

Speaker 1 (34:17):
Why are you jumping on mona? Come on, man, it's
too funny.

Speaker 7 (34:23):
There's people in the comments that are like, really done,
and it's a picture that they just ordered his jersey.
Oh yeah, so it is because somebody was asking him
if he could get some sort of autograph jersey for
his wife that's Filipino, because he's part Filipino.

Speaker 2 (34:37):
So he just put that out, like, if you.

Speaker 7 (34:39):
All send a jersey to the facility with the return label,
you'll get it back signed.

Speaker 4 (34:44):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (34:45):
Five yeah, five, yeah, shut up, Lebron.

Speaker 2 (34:54):
They don't need you. They don't need you.

Speaker 1 (34:58):
I know you're not, Lebron.

Speaker 5 (35:00):
No.

Speaker 1 (35:02):
