(00:23):
starts and sits. The guys help you make those hard decisions.
And now let's get your flex. Ond Here's Dan Bayer

Speaker 2 (00:33):
All right, this is gonna be some fun. He is
Mike Karman, I'm Dan Byer. This is I Want your Flex.
Ian Roddy is our executive producer with a little help
from one Ryan Persinger. Welcome in Get My Get.

Speaker 3 (00:44):
Swollen Dome on X.

Speaker 2 (00:45):
You can find him at Mike Karman on Bluesky. You
can find me at Dan Byer on Fox and at
Dan Byer on blue Sky. The position that we all
love to talk about in fantasy football. I feel like
a quarterback preview is one that people don't want to
spend a lot of time talking about quarterbacks. They'd love
to spend ten times as much of their fantasy planning
on the running back position. So let's just get into it. Mike,

(01:08):
running Backs in twenty twenty five in the NFL in
fantasy football.

Speaker 4 (01:12):
Well, because that's the thing. It drops off so quickly,
guys that we trust guys with giant question marks. I
keep joking that, you know, for some of those quarterback positions,
it's been the all right, who's the guy in the
riddler outfit running around with question marks? Right, But we're
starting to settle out some of those position battles as
we tape. The Saints are the only team still making

(01:35):
a decision. They've got two weeks. They'll get to it.
But for the running back position, you know, the way
things are deployed, either the quarterbacks themselves taking on a
bigger onus in that part of the game, or the
split workloads two three guys at times working their way in,
it's made for a maddening kind of scenario for running backs.

(01:57):
So yeah, it's a really curious list this year. And
I've probably jumbled the top ten thirty times in the
two to three weeks you know, leading up to us
getting back to the eyewatch of Flex podcast and starting
to create some fantasy blogs and whatever. It's just the
all right, how much do I love this guy? Well,
don't forget about him, and don't forget about this, and

(02:18):
don't forget about that injury that we remember. He's not
the same guy you loved. He's changed, He's come back different,
almost like you've watched a horror movie. Like I don't know,
I don't I think there's something different about this guy.
It's not quite pet cemetery, but we go down those
same roads.

Speaker 2 (02:32):
I love the running back position because as much as
we have advanced in the NFL, is so predicated on
the path that there is still the value of the
running back.

Speaker 3 (02:45):
That's what I love about it.

Speaker 2 (02:46):
And then when you get to a certain point in
the draft, because there's just so many wide receivers in
the running back position, you're not going to be taking
a third running back, but you may. Sure as I
take a third wide receiver on a squad Mike, all
of a sudden, you're sitting there saying, geez, maybe I
should Maybe I should have invested a little bit more
in the running back position. So while it's not as
maybe top heavy and dominant as we were used to,

(03:09):
I still think the position is extremely valuable when you're
trying to set up your fantasy football team because you
have to at least have viable running backs.

Speaker 3 (03:18):
And if you're in a twelve team league with multiple
flex positions, you.

Speaker 2 (03:23):
Don't want to be sitting there stuck with just one
good running back and a bunch of wide receivers that are, Hey,
this guy's okay, that guy's okay. You're like, I got
to start a guy who's going to get ten carries
a game because I was so worried about my flex
and wide receiver positions. I think those scenarios happen in
fantasy drafts. That's why I love, still love the running
back position, even though people want to downplay the importance

(03:45):
of it. I would almost argue it's more important than
ever at any time in fantasy history.

Speaker 4 (03:50):
Well, you and me, with our Midwest roots, we still
love our three yards and a cloud of dust. Whenever
we can get it shortened games, get them on, get
them over, get him in, and certainly being able to
bank on a guy in that ten to fifteen touchcount.
Like what do we always do, Like if we take
phone calls in fantasy shows pasted on the Fox Sports

(04:12):
radio network, or we do it, you know as part
of the podcast. Here's some tweets and whatever, it's the
touches over targets, right to give me a guy that
they're going to stick the ball in his gut, particularly
once we start breaking down red zone stats and efficiencies there.
I'll take my chances that those bear out versus the

(04:33):
quarterback acumen and the tight coverage and a guy getting
double teamed in, you know, trying to work in the
low posts. So yeah, it's certainly fun. And this year,
you know, once again we get into the the tiering
of guys dan and that first tier is very small.

Speaker 2 (04:50):
It is, and it's and I still think that there
are question marks even in the top tier.

Speaker 3 (04:55):
We do a quarterback.

Speaker 2 (04:57):
Episode and Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson, barring injury, are
likely going to produce.

Speaker 3 (05:02):
They're gonna produce their points the running back position.

Speaker 2 (05:05):
Yes, butt, And I think that there's a big butt
because especially well I like big butts. I cannot lie,
but there is a big There is a big butt
because these top guys aren't innecessarily fail safe situations. And
I'm just going to start out with the fantasy MVP
of last year in Saquon Barkley and the Eagles, even

(05:28):
coming off of that season where I think so many
other previous years, we would be ready to anoint Saquon
Barkley the number one overall guy. We're not ready to
do that now because we're saying, all right, when does
the other shoe drop?

Speaker 4 (05:40):
But that's just it. After that massive workload three hundred
and forty five carries in the regular season, Dan in
the regular season, and you go back his last four
years prior to that, you're not getting to massive totals. Right,
you got some injury history. He had a thirteen hundred
yard game games again, that's the Giants and it's a

(06:02):
different world order. That's fine, but looking for history to
repeat itself, very reticent to do so. Now, he's been
fairly consistent in the passing game, so you're getting your
thirty plus receptions, even though that's taken a bit of
a downtick. But he's still active there, so you're gonna
get some points coming out of the backfield. But all
of that to say with the offensive line, with what
Jalen Hurts does, and again coming off of a massive

(06:26):
run that you did last year, you can't do that again.
Like just logic dictates, all right, we're playing for January
and a February date up in Santa Clara. We're not
gonna give this guy the ball four hundred times again.
We just can't. The human body doesn't do. It's why
one of the top guys in that next year is
I'm really reticent to jump on board as much as

(06:48):
it's a shiny new toy. So for Saquon Barkley, it's
very much that he's third on that first year for me.

Speaker 2 (06:54):
So I would guess that Bijette Robinson and Jamior Gibbs
are one and two in some sort of order.

Speaker 4 (07:00):
That's it, right, It's all just dependent on, you know,
the banking on the Detroit offense. Next year, I think
I'm gonna see more of Gibbs, like huge final run
right when we talk about overall Fantasy points, the skewing
a little bit with Montgomery unavailable, and the amount of
workload that Gibbs had in those final few weeks, like

(07:22):
he was a Fantasy MVP just for what he did
in the Fantasy playoffs for you, but it thrust him
to that huge position. But as we talked about a
bit in the Quarterback episode, this is why you need
to download it all and listen to them all. But
to encapsulate it here. I think with Ben Johnson gone,
there becomes a little more of a benefit for Gibbs

(07:42):
in Montgomery to take on even that much more. I
saw a crazy stat of Gibbs that I was trying
to locate before we got started on this one, Dan,
and it got lost to the screenshots because you take
a lot of stuff over the course of the day
as you're out and about for stories that you might
try to include in shows. I lost it. But talking
about the number of touches that went for ten or

(08:03):
more yards, it was like some ridiculous percentage of Gibbs
carries a year ago. I mean, think about two hundred
fifty carries over fourteen hundred yards with those sixteen touchdowns. Yeah,
I'll take him slightly over Bijon for the number one
spot this year.

Speaker 2 (08:17):
I'll just I'll make an argument for Beijon at number one,
and it's a little bit of what you said with
Gibbs last year's I think the Falcons can compete. I
think that their offensive line is solid. They've made investments
into that, and you know, Michael Pennix is getting his
first full season as a starter. You're obviously going to
rely on the running game, and we know the Falcons
love to run the football. I also wonder, Mike if

(08:40):
like the argument that I would make for Bejeon to
be number one.

Speaker 3 (08:44):
The reason why I compare it to Gibbs is I think.

Speaker 2 (08:46):
The Falcons are in prime position to win the NFC South,
so they're playing meaningful football weeks eleven through eighteen, and
even if you look at Bijon's workload last season, there
was an uptick towards the end of the year, so
maybe they like that sort of plan. Maybe Tyler Aljier, who,
by the way, because of just this argument, could get
a bump higher as you're looking for a depth at

(09:09):
the running back position because of how the Falcons are
going to use it. But Bijon had I think one
twenty plus carry game in the first nine weeks of
the season and then afterwards finished in the final six games,
five out of the six had twenty plus carries. So
if you're playing meaningful football, maybe that's a reason if
you like Bijon better. Because I think the Falcons are

(09:29):
going to be good. I think the Falcons are going
to compete for the division crown in the NFC South. Again,
this season, then maybe that would be a reason why
you would lean on Bijon because they seem to find
value and he actually being their guy when they need
it most.

Speaker 4 (09:41):
It's funny because you also mentioned a guy who's grossly undervalue,
not to steal away from the Alsos and Sleepers, Ninjas whatever,
Algiers number fifty one, Wow among running backs right now? Now,
I know Bjeon Robinson like we're and like we're splitting
hairs between one and two. He's great, but that offensive

(10:05):
line is good. They've got a good wide receiving corps
and we're expecting Panics to take that huge step forward.
You're telling me Tyler All's year, with what we've seen
the last couple of years, is not worth a higher
draft choice to make sure if he does get into
the lineup, and we wish no ill on anybody, but

(10:25):
telling me he's fifty first, Either you're telling me Bijon
Robinson is a cyborg and he will not be injured,
or or you really don't like all jyear and I'm like,
I've watched dot Lgier enough. He's a pretty good back.

Speaker 3 (10:38):
What am I missing?

Speaker 2 (10:39):
Yes, Yes, he's gonna be physical and you hate to
say it, but you know, hopefully nothing happens to be Jean,
but if they did, what a magnificent spot he would
be in for you know, fantasy production, absolutely on that alone,
where you have other backs in that situation and even
just like even in that drafting area where if there

(11:00):
was an injury, there still wouldn't be the huge, huge bump.
I mean, he's being drafted along the lines of where
Ray Davis is the backup in Buffalo, where Jaden Blue
is in Dallas. So those are the names that are
right now around Tyler Lger. And if something were to
happen to Beijon, which we do not want to happen,
but if it did, Tyler Azieler would be in a

(11:23):
much better situation than any of the guys around him
in that fifty to fifty.

Speaker 4 (11:27):
One range, no question about it.

Speaker 2 (11:29):
All Right, So let's get to the we got the
top three taken care of. Let's go to that next
tier of guys, because there are two that stand out
to me like a sore thumb, and we're gon we're
gonna give a nod to the experience and the veterans
in the NFL. Christian McCaffrey and Derrick Henry are two
guys that I think people expect great things. But again,

(11:50):
there's something in the back of your mind, all Right,
is McCaffrey really really back? Is he ever going to
be back? Is this it for Derrick Henry? How do
you sort it out with those two veterans?

Speaker 4 (12:00):
With Henry, you're looking at greater than one thousand rushing
yards six the last seven years, seven straight years of
double digit touchdowns. So while the cliff may be coming,
it still seems a little little bit of ways. Right,
we kept waiting for you and I've been doing this
together a number of years, and it's the all right,
is this the year? Is this year? And then he
goes out and rushes for nearly six yards of carry

(12:22):
behind what was the healthiest line he's been behind in
a long time. Ronnie Stanley and everybody were ready to
go in Baltimore. We'll see if that happens again. So
I'm certainly I can push him towards that next tier,
to the top of that next tier. I take McCaffrey,
he's on the other end for me, he's closer to that,
you know, number ten role for me, based on the

(12:45):
like again, if potentially he becomes more of a slot receiver,
and we're now we're talking about picking up the PPR
numbers to all of it. Dan, you know, back when
he was in what was it twenty eighteen, twenty nineteen,
where he had back to back one hundred catch years,
then I'm gonna get my value. Otherwise, you had a
bunch of ulcarand years where we kept waiting and wishing

(13:07):
and wanting and hoping, and then we finally had that
number one season where we were making MVP arguments for him,
and then he misses last year. How am I going
to bank that given his injury history and a number
of years around that one standout that we're good, but not,
you know, world beating. Not to mention, you've got a

(13:28):
squad around you that I'm wondering, if you know, I
never want to shut a window entirely because things break
curiously in the National Football League on a year to
year basis. But that receiving corps and Rock Purdy, I
don't think the offense has the same buzz and hum
that it has these last couple of years.

Speaker 2 (13:46):
Yeah, I agree with that. I think there could be
guys e merging for San Francisco but I don't think
it's gonna be like it once was. And the funny
thing is, as well as if you look on the
Fantasy Pros website, we had the top three that we
talked about with Barkley, Bjohon and Jamier Gibbs. If you're
to Mike's point, if you're in a standard league, Derrick
Henry is getting that push and McCaffrey's fallen even below

(14:09):
someone like Ashton Genty.

Speaker 3 (14:11):
If you're in that.

Speaker 2 (14:11):
Full PPR full point PPR league, McCaffrey's sitting there at
number four for you. So it depends on in your league.
I know you're not as high on him, but it
also just tells you the difference of how they're going
to use McCaffrey and how high and how he can
fluctuate on a draft board, because it is a different
scenario in San Francisco.

Speaker 4 (14:29):
Trying to guess what Shanahan's going to do. All right,
you mentioned Ashon Genty, I'll throw it to you, you know,
And a lot of the boards I've seen, I've seen
him drafted first, running back off the board. I've seen
people push all in with him, running through people and
finding finding contact like he did in the preseason game

(14:49):
Week two. That leaves me a little concerned, like you
don't need that, especially a guy that had six hundred
carries the last two years.

Speaker 2 (14:58):
I agree, and i've I'm the reason why I'm tempered.
I have the tempered expectations on Ashton Genty Mike. If
he was in any other division, any other division, I
would be higher on him and would probably put him
in the first tier, especially if I was in a
standard league.

Speaker 3 (15:17):
But you play the Broncos twice, you play the Chargers twice.

Speaker 2 (15:22):
Now their final Week eighteen game is against Kansas City,
but that's another game against Kansas City. You also have
a game against the Eagles in and you have a
game against the Texans in.

Speaker 3 (15:33):
The first week of the playoffs.

Speaker 2 (15:35):
Those are defenses that I think will be legit defenses.
And I'm not saying he's not going to get his
but the monster games where you would need him, that
pushes me a little back from him. So that's my
concern about Genty. I just think Denver's I think the
Chargers defense will be good, and Kansas City is now
a defensive team, So I think when you're playing those

(15:57):
teams and you have a bunch of matchups against them,
may the numbers aren't going to be as fruitful. Despite
the opportunity that you could get with Jim Kelly now
as your offensive coordinate.

Speaker 4 (16:05):
Certainly some excitement to have him on board, no question
about it. Right. We love the shiny new toy in theory.
I mean you like what I mean, Tom Brady running
around looking like he's Al Davis with the leisure suit
and all is kind of cool. But and Pete Carroll,
we know his history, right, we know what he and
Chip Kelly should be able to do. I just think
that workload is so daunting from a year ago, and

(16:29):
the offensive line isn't quite there yet. So all of
that to say i'd push him down, I'll let someone
else take that shot. If it breaks right, I'll give
him a hardy handshake. But you mentioned all the schedule
blips that are potentially there for him, particularly in crunch time.

Speaker 2 (16:45):
I'm out, He's Mike Carmen, I'm Dan Byer. We are
not out. We got another whole segment to go on
running backs. We've touched on the top backs at the top.
Now where can you strike gold outside of those top
tier running backs? Swollen Dome, find me at Dan Byron
fox on X. That's next tier and I want your flex.

(17:06):
All right, let's dive into these running backs that aren't
maybe at the top of your rankings, but definitely have
some value. Devon ah chan dinged up a little bit
with the Dolphins. We have no idea what's going to
happen with the Bengals offensive line, So Chase Brown's in
the mix. Mentioned Josh Jacobs a little bit in our
quarterbacking segments an episode that we had interested in talking

(17:29):
about Jordan love status. He's there, Jonathan Taylor is not
going to take handoffs from Daniel Jones. Just some of
the names that you're going to get in that next
tier or two of running backs after the top guys
that we could draft, like yeah, I.

Speaker 4 (17:42):
Think the guys I like most. We mentioned a lot
about Josh Jacobs and putting it all on his legs.
What he's been able to do. Consistency is what you're
talking right when we're talking about double digit touchdown seasons. Now,
the yardage has been a little bit hit and miss,
going back to his previous step, but some of that
you take with the grand assault because you know raiders

(18:05):
and want to, and you know there were some issues
there contractually and what they were building, but you look
at Green Bay and at least structurally everything looks right
to go take another step forward. Chase Brown's a guy,
you know, his ability in the passing game. Fifty four
catches a year ago, finished just shy of the thousand
yard rushing mark, but eleven total touchdowns. I think he's

(18:28):
a guy that could could outperform you know where he's at.
He's eighth, ninth in some in most rankings. I think
that could be a little bit higher. Jonathan Taylor's a curiosity.
Look he's been touching the ball from how many different guys?
Quentin Nelson great quote early in the week, just going, yeah,
I'm tired of it, Like I just need some consistency

(18:51):
behind it. I think it's the eleventh guy, Daniel Jones,
the eleventh quarterback since Andrew Luck walked away. Wow, eleventh
guy to start a game. And that's how short it is. Right,
we talk about you know, Green Bay and you've got
three guys for as long as you and I have
been alive almost and then you talk about the Colts
in a decade at eleven.

Speaker 3 (19:11):
This is our cults. This is our team. We bleed blue.
They've been bleeding for a while. That is true in Indianapolis. Yeah,
for Ed.

Speaker 4 (19:21):
For Jonathan Taylor, is he staying healthy like he's done
that once in the last five years. I can't bank
on it. So he's a back end one just based
on when he's available the workload. But he's certainly a
guy that I can't push any higher.

Speaker 2 (19:34):
I just like him just because I think that's who
they're going to load up on. But the injury history
ends up scaring you in that scenario. And I honestly, Mike,
I hate to say this, but I don't know who's
going to be worse between Miami and Indianapolis as we're
looking at, just some names that pop short, because I
think the bottom could completely fall out with the Dolphins.

(19:56):
I mean, it hasn't been a great offseason with Tyreek
Hill and saying what he has to say. John hu
Smith is no longer in Miami, and so you're wondering,
all right now, Devon hn who has battled, you know,
those injuries in his history, is he able to even
take on a full workloads. There's there's some questions at

(20:17):
that back end.

Speaker 4 (20:17):
RB one, yeah, saying that Hn may miss a couple
of games because of a calf injury or if it's
at least gonna limit him off the jump. I don't
know when when McDaniel went to the podium and you know,
great day, you know we're one day closer to death,
or however he phrased it, I got a little bit
nervous there, right. I gotta say that that one did

(20:39):
not strike I mean I loved it from you know,
my morbid sense of humor to it all and the
dead pan nature of it. But doesn't seem to me
like he's a guy really jacked up for the twenty
twenty five season.

Speaker 2 (20:50):
I know there are people who are who are mixed
on him. I absolutely love him. I love the I
love the sound bites, I love everything with it. I
love the this style. I don't know if he's going
to last after this season in Miami, but I will
forever be a fan just because of certain comments like that.

Speaker 4 (21:08):
I'm one hundred percent with you. He's a guy that
I will love him when he's my offensive coordinator and
the mad scientists, but I'll miss the press conferences because
we won't get the same accessibility Allie Gordon the second
getting the run six to one out of Oklahoma State,
shining in practice, shining in a little bit of the preseason.
So Jalen Wright, right before we started recording this podcast,

(21:32):
Dan he'd left with trainers, no details as of yet,
but with he and h Chan both banged up, Holly
Gordon is going to be your draft darling over the
next week.

Speaker 3 (21:43):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (21:43):
People raving about his performances in the preseason with a
physical sort of running. The question is that the Dolphins
going to have a lead? We would need that, surety.
That's the other question. I'm going to throw a couple
of other names out to you, Mike. James Cook has
got his contract in Buffalo, no longer a hold in
and ready to go for a team that has big
fish to fry this season. Where are you on the

(22:06):
Bills back?

Speaker 4 (22:06):
He's currently sitting at number fifteen. I'll do an outperform
with him because I think it'll be a bigger factor
in the passing game. And now he's gotten paid, so
you know that's that worry. Isn't there anymore? Receiving corps
not exactly world beating once again for Josh Allen see,
things must be really hard to recruit guys to be

(22:27):
a top end guy in Buffalo. I don't know. I
figured you want to hang out and if nothing else,
Hailey Steinfeld can tell you all about the Marvel universe.
Or maybe she's been sworn to secrecy of stuff that
even has long been released. I don't know, but either that,
either way, you know, I think James Cook is still
that guy, and he's going to need a big workload.
Once again, you mentioned Ray Davis. He's down in that

(22:50):
low forties. I'd handcuff it because again, once she started
getting into the winter months, how you shortened games and
have to play to the elements at least until that
new stadium where they take the wind away. Once that's gone,
I mean, all bets are off and maybe it becomes
a much more pass happy kind of place. But I
think in the interim Cook's gonna have to have a

(23:10):
big role.

Speaker 2 (23:12):
I will make this comment on Kenneth Walker the Third.
I think that he and this is I feel like
it's the same every single year. I think he's lower
than he should be if he were to stay completely healthy.

Speaker 3 (23:26):
The change in.

Speaker 2 (23:27):
Kenneth Walker the Third is now you've got a new
offensive coordinator in Clint Kubiak in Seattle. I really think
that the Seahawks are going to be a good defensive
team and you're going to see a ball control offense
with that running game. And well, Walker hasn't played in
the preseason, Zach Charbonay has shown that he's had some
success in the new zone blocking scheme. I'm curious. I

(23:51):
think it could be a big year for Kenneth Walker
the third, but I also think it's kind of a
make or break year for him because if he gets
injured again, there's no way that you can count on
him on being your lead back. So as I look
at Kenneth Walker, Mike his draft position Fantasy Pros right now,
and a half point PPR league has him at about fifteenth.

Speaker 3 (24:13):
I think he could easily be top ten, but.

Speaker 2 (24:17):
Because the bottom falls out with the injury stuff puts
him down to fifteen if I had if I had
my way, I would roll the dice and hope you
can hit a jackpot with Walker.

Speaker 4 (24:27):
I am one hundred percent with you. He'll be much better,
I believe than the three point seven yards per carry
your ago. The thing that I think is most encouraging.
Also though, is that he was a bigger part of
the passing game. Let him out and go blow guys
up one on one, right, don't don't run, just straight
up the gut with him and make some plays. I'm
curious the other part of it. You mentioned Charbone. He's

(24:49):
sitting at thirty third to thirty fifth. I think there
might be some value down there for him as well.

Speaker 2 (24:55):
Yes, yes, absolutely, at least in a handcuff situation. If
you're still in to that sort of thing. I don't
know some people are. I don't know if they're they're there.

Speaker 4 (25:04):
I like the way you phrased that.

Speaker 2 (25:05):
Yes, I think I think I'll say these comments and
then you can you can respond with you with your
own backs.

Speaker 3 (25:11):
I think Breece Hall is being overvalued. Cuba Hubbard undervalued.

Speaker 4 (25:16):
Cuba Hubbard had himself a nice year last year, very
quietly for U Man Carolina. There was a lot of
talk about Bryce Young early and that kind of died
because you know, we start getting into playoff worthy teams
and whatever. But nice finish to the season. I think
year two would be even better. He's sitting at eighteen
to twenty. I think there's a great opportunity to outperform

(25:37):
at Brice Hall has already told you they don't love him.
I'd be looking at if I wanted to go put
something and I can't play justin fields as a running back,
so I'd end up looking at Brailen Allen. That was
so mean. Brailen Allen down where he is as an
RB four. I think there's a chance, you know, he
ends up as a back end RB two before it's

(25:58):
all said and done, and that you'll have a team
that's desperate for running back. Help go and grab Breis
Hall in a trade before this is all said and done.

Speaker 2 (26:07):
Who are some other backs that you have your eye on,
either good or bad? And this kind of mix of
backs that you'll look to fill out your starting roster.

Speaker 4 (26:14):
Now, in some of the abbreviated previews we've done on
our Fox Sports Sunday show, we mentioned Traveon Henderson. You're
watching his average draft position rise up. I believe the
hype and I think of what they're trying to do
with New England to re establish their identity, their format. Hell,
you got a coach diving into piles in practices, so

(26:35):
I think there's some excitement there.

Speaker 3 (26:37):
R J.

Speaker 4 (26:37):
Harvey and Denver. If we believe Denver is the team
that is going to push forward a great year last year, right,
and we talked about bo Nix and what he's doing,
but with that defense that you're going to have some
opportunity in Harvey becomes the number one there and pushes
forward the other guys, I mean, Omarion Hampton is by
default going to see a heavy workload and a Harbaugh offense,

(27:02):
especially with Najee Harris hurt, and now they're scrambling to
fill out depth just to get to opening days. So
opportunity there and then a little bit of a price
shot later when we look at like a Jordan Mason
in Minnesota, wondering if the bloom is off the rose
for Aaron Jones with JJ McCarthy and a new look offense,

(27:23):
curious the first couple of weeks to know Jordan Addison,
so how that offense comes out playing right off the jump.
And then Tyrone Tracy had himself a nice year last year.
Now he's got the Camp Scatabo hanging out behind him,
so that clouds things a little, especially in short yarded situations.
But the Giants are interesting again owing to as you

(27:45):
and I love to do with the strength of a
defense and how that changes the complexion of what an
offense is trying to do well. Jackson Dart will eventually
be the guy. Russell Wilson's best days were four or
five years ago, not that he can't still throw the
moon ball and shock you. So Malik Neighbors fans, don't worry.
We'll get to you in the Wide Receiver podcast. But

(28:07):
I still think you can have some opportunity there, and
I think Tracy at twenty seven to thirty will outperform.

Speaker 2 (28:14):
Also in that San Gruber a pair of Pittsburgh running backs.
I know Caleb Johnson is getting the hype, but still
if things work out early with Jalen Warren and you're
also looking for a guy who could catch the football
out of the backfield, I know that Johnson, being the
young guy in the physical back touchdowns can all way
in to put him over the top of Warren. But

(28:34):
I just think if Warren produces, Pittsburgh is going to
stay with it with him because they're all in for
this season, like this is everybody's there. So if it
works early, I don't think they're going to make a change.
And then Traves Etn has been a name that's popped
up in the possible trade rumors that could really shake
things up. I think both you and I like Tank

(28:55):
Bigsby more in Jacksonville. I mean, especially in a standard league,
but that could be a if something would happen and
Etn would be on the move, that could shake up
a couple of different running back rooms in the NFL.

Speaker 4 (29:07):
His value a great for trade absolutely, And then you
got a great name in Bigsby. I mean, how great
is that? A couple of guys really deep as we
go through I mean we talked about Joe Mixon being
a bit of an injury question right now as we
get ready for the season, Nick Chubb's being drafted as
the fifty third running back. I know they've got some
young guys on the roster, but assuming and Chubb is

(29:30):
eighty percent of what he once was for a couple
of weeks, you got some value. And then going further
down the list, we talked a lot about Derrick Henry.
How about we go for a little bit of a
price shot with the speedster Keaton Mitchell coming back. Sure, yeah,
I'd be remiss. I got to give it. Think of
the guy's name Woody Marx wood He over there in Houston.

Speaker 2 (29:51):
Yes, yes, he's been popping up. And I don't know
what the Texans offensive line is.

Speaker 3 (29:57):
You know it's still bad.

Speaker 2 (29:58):
Yeah, yeah, question on how that's gonna break out. I
hate to bring an old name into this, but I'm
gonna do it. Hit it Raheem Ostert with Las Vegas
for as much as they run, and we'll run the
football again for us talking about Genty at least as
a backup if anything were to happen to Genty and
what would be a run centric offense. I think Moster

(30:19):
could have some value, so maybe a late pick. He's
all the way down at seventy four overall according to
Fantasy Pros, but if something were to happen to Genty,
I think his value would jump up extremely high.

Speaker 4 (30:32):
I'd love to see some of the names that are
still on this list, because it goes like one hundred
and twenty guys deeps like that guy's still playing. No,
that guy's not a roster Yeah.

Speaker 2 (30:43):
Frank George Junior is one hundred and fiftieth. So there
there you go. It just keeps going and going and going.
We won't We're gonna end our running Back Talk, just
to let you know we're gonna be back with more
episodes of wide receivers and tight ends, plus our Top sixty,

this is fun. It's so great to be back in
the mode.

Speaker 4 (31:05):
Good to be back at it. So many names, so
many storylines, and a full two seventy two of glorious
football ahead of us.

Speaker 3 (31:13):
For Mike Carmen, I'm Dan Bayer.

Speaker 2 (31:15):
