Speaker 1 (00:24):
The guys help you make those hard decisions. And now
let's get your flex on. Here's Dan Bayer and Mike Harmon.
Speaker 3 (00:35):
It is I Want Your Flex. I'm Dan Bayer, that's
Mike Harmon. That's Ryan berging Er, executive producer, Hit Harmon
up at Swallendome. You can find me at Dan Bayer
on Fox. You can find Ryan at Ryan Berginger. That's
actually just Harmon's chair for right now. He's going to
be here in a little bit. At the time of
this recording, he's wrapping up his show that he does
weeknight to Fox Sports Radio with Jason Smith.
Speaker 4 (00:55):
So Burschinger and I have got you covered.
Speaker 3 (00:57):
I know when you're listening to this, it's a Tuesday morning,
and maybe the Monday night game is fresh in people's mind.
But we're going to start things on Sunday, and I
do think that the story fantasy wise, there are a
lot of different stories fantasy wise, but you just can't
ignore the performance of Christian McCaffrey. Birch the crazy. There's
two crazy things about Christian McCaffrey. And if you have
(01:18):
him in fantasy, my goodness, are you reaping the benefits?
Speaker 4 (01:22):
Number actually three things.
Speaker 3 (01:24):
Number one, the consistency of the output that he has
continued to put out game after game after game. I
think they put a stat up it's his forty ninth
straight game with a touchdown for the forty nine ers,
even though he's only played in like twelve of them.
I mean, it's absurd on how much how consistent he's been.
(01:47):
Number two, how healthy he's been. But also then in
a scenario where you have so many mouths that you
can seemingly feed, he still gets consistently fed with touchdowns.
In all of that, it is a it is a
marvel that if you have Christian McCaffrey, it is such
it is such a luxury that everybody else in your
(02:08):
league has no idea how good you actually have it.
Speaker 5 (02:11):
It really is incredible to watch, and this is kind
of what we all figured was going to happen, and
it's really what should happen when when a coach like
Kyle Shanahan acquires this fun toy like Christian McCaffrey, you think, well,
he's going to use him in a way that's going
to be so advantageous for fantasy managers, and we're so
used to that like not actually happening. I feel like
(02:35):
a lot of times when guys land in new places,
especially via trade, we all get really excited for the
potential output. Or maybe it's you know, through free agent, Well, no,
it was through trade, Darren Waller. We all get really
excited about the possibility and we hear the way in
which they intend to use them. When you have Christian McCaffrey,
(02:56):
who is the best both in past catching running back
in the game, uh, put into an offense that is
designed to move the ball at an incredibly efficient rate. Yeah,
this this is what you wanted to happen. This is
what you figured what happened. This is why he was
going either one or two in your fantasy drafts. Just
(03:19):
it's it's incredible to watch. It is great to see
with you know, all the different varying outputs that we've
gotten from first round picks this season. It's great to
see McCaffrey and Justin Jefferson really paying off so incredibly
well at the top. And yeah, as you mentioned, Dan,
when we're talking about the Niners offense specifically this last week,
(03:39):
and in the way that feeding McCaffrey caused them to
feed other mouths less as somebody who had Deebo Samuel
on a team, and fortunately for me didn't hurt my team.
I was still fine, but it would have been a
great situation where like maybe you just you just just
let him take the week off, right, it was. It
was a it was a qui estion of his health
(04:01):
coming into the game. They go ahead and let him play. Ironically,
the only way he got the ball was by running it,
So yeah, this is the the drawback that we feared
with other parts of the Niners offense is maybe they're
going to give McCaffrey the ball too much. But I
kind of figure that, especially with Debo, that's something specific
(04:22):
with his health coming into that game, because he had
just had a great game the week before that, So
I'm not too concerned with Debo there, but definitely with
other pieces. You kind of were hoping for a big
game from George Kittle here because of Debo's injury and
that didn't happen. So it is interesting to see what
this means for other parts of the Niners offense.
Speaker 3 (04:40):
Yeah, I am. I am concerned with Kittle. There's gonna
be a game where he plays and you're like, oh,
there he is, and when you're when you're watching the
forty nine ers, they do only get the ball to
a Kittle, Debo or McCaffrey. Like truly, I had the
play in a Guillotine league in Week three and played
(05:04):
Juwan Jennings because I thought, hey, Deebo's out. I know
they don't play the same position, but there's going to
be more targets, say three three.
Speaker 4 (05:14):
Balls to him.
Speaker 3 (05:15):
Yeah, but really when you watch and you watched them
on Sunday against Arizona, Brandon Ayuk had, you know, really
nice game, one hundred and forty yards. I believe on
six receptions a bunch of big plays, and when McCaffrey
is doing that, those big plays are available.
Speaker 4 (05:28):
But in saying that, as you said, Dibo has a
nice game. But I think the the.
Speaker 3 (05:34):
Shine on Deebo was pre Christian McCaffrey coming to San Francisco.
It's it is very much Kevin Durant goes to Golden State,
who takes the hit. Christian McCaffrey goes to San Francisco,
who's the one that truly takes the hit. It is debo.
It's actually helped Ayuk in a way. It maybe Brock
(05:55):
Purdy has helped him in a way. But the point
two is is on in watching the game on Sunday
with Arizona, Arizona kept it competitive, so the forty nine
ers still had to continue to do what they do.
It wasn't it wasn't like Burst, like the Dolphins just
running away with the Broncos and the Broncos not tackling.
(06:18):
It was San Francisco continuing to get to play that
they wanted to play because Arizona was still just kind
of hanging around. And the frustrating then part about it
is if you don't have Christian McCaffrey or you're going
up against him, is again, they just didn't spread the wealth.
And then when they got to the one yard line,
you were just thankful that he didn't get his fifth
touchdown when Brock Party just ended up taking a quarterback sneak.
(06:40):
But it is an interesting spot in fantasy and even
you know, even even a guy like brock Party, you know,
I think does have some value. But I do think
that with the success of McCaffrey, and again, it's amazing
that he's staying healthy.
Speaker 4 (06:56):
And I'm glad. I don't want anybody to get hurt.
Speaker 3 (06:58):
You don't want anybody to get in, you know, so
so I'm glad that the has stayed healthy.
Speaker 4 (07:02):
But you're always worried about that.
Speaker 3 (07:05):
See Jamal Adams, you know, with the Seahawks and comes
back and then he gets knocked out. My goodness, but
perty's got some I think increased value as well, even
with the the staggering numbers of Christian McCaffrey.
Speaker 4 (07:20):
Like I even just like look and I.
Speaker 3 (07:21):
Know I'm rambling a little bit, but the you know,
like like on Sunday, McCaffrey ends up having one hundred
and six yards and three touchdowns and then seven receptions
for seventy one yards, and you look at, okay, who
else had all the receptions? Oh, Josh Jacobs had eight
catches crazy in that game against the Chargers, But he
then just had the fifty eight yards rushing, And I
(07:42):
know he's not Christian mccafery's not going to get forty
eight points every single week. But he was basically the
best receiving back of the best running back this past
week in fantasy football, and he was just one guy crazy.
Speaker 5 (07:55):
It's it's going to be interesting to see what happens
next with the Niners because you have the the Cowboys
this week and then the Browns after that. That's two
very strong defensive matchups. Of course, you're not worried about
Christian McCaffrey in terms of his fantasy output, but the
other options you do have to wonder, right, I think
that Brock Party does provide a great fantasy quarterback value
(08:18):
that's matchup dependent because after that Browns, I got the
Vikings and Brock Purty against the Vikings I think would
be a very strong start the Bengals. The Bengals defenses
look solid, but then you have the Jaguars. I play
Brock Party there. So yeah, just kind of looking at
Purty as a as a matchup dependent quarterback and fantasy
I think we'll get interesting. And with the receiving options
(08:40):
these next couple weeks, you might have to downgrade some
of these guys a bit. But of course, you know,
Christian McCaffrey is going to be there the whole time.
Speaker 3 (08:50):
I want to go to one other powerhouse, just because
we talked about the forty nine ers and it is
the Philadelphia Eagles. I believe that we have some clarity,
and I feel that people probably felt that there was
clarity after Week two with what Philadelphia did with DeAndre Swift.
Speaker 4 (09:09):
But it's crazy to see how DeAndre Swift has.
Speaker 3 (09:12):
Taken over the backfield job when he got the one
carry in week one. There's a lot going on in Philadelphia.
Jalen Hurts continues to be Jalen Hurts the AJ Brown saga.
I've got a lot to say about AJ Brown, and
maybe I'll do it on Wednesday's podcast, But for fantasy purposes,
(09:34):
it's great that he continues to complain because look at
least how the Eagles are feeding him as opposed to
what we've got with San Francisco, where I feel McCaffrey
takes up a little bit more air in the room.
Philadelphia I think has the same sort of makeup, if
you will, maybe not, you know, exact replicas of what
(09:54):
they've got, But I don't see anybody taking the hits,
you know, like the quarterback Jalen Hurts is a viable starter.
If you have AJ Brown, you've got a j Brown
that you're starting every single week. You're always starting Devonte Smith.
There are weeks where maybe Dallas Goddard ends up being
your starting tight end. Maybe that's where the hit comes
because DeAndre Swift has been pretty good and Kenneth Gainwell,
(10:17):
you know, not that guy anymore that maybe we thought
could be in the preseason. But I just think everybody
in Philadelphia a little bit different than San Francisco because
all of these guys are feeding right now.
Speaker 5 (10:29):
Yeah, it makes you wonder, as somebody who took a
shot on Kenneth Gainwell in like the twelfth thirteenth round
in one of my drafts, if he didn't have that
injury after Week one, Like, man, would I be sitting
in a good spot, Because I think that it looked
like with not only the way that Gainwell was used
week one, but throughout the preseason, that the Eagles are
(10:50):
pretty hard set on having Gainwell be their lead back
coming into the season, and because of the injury, they
had to go fully on DeAndre Swift and that week too,
and he looked phenomenal. And so because of that you
can't go back to Kenneth Gainwell, who looked fine in
Week one. The Swift looks like the fastest guy on
the field. You want that at your running back, of course,
(11:12):
so I think that Gainwall will still get some work
because this is just how this team operates. There's a
reason why they acquired multiple running backs this offseason. Even
though you know, I'm including Rashad Penny in that, but
he's he's present. You know, he is employed by the
Philadelphia Eagles, so we mentioned him. But Swift just looks
(11:33):
so strong out of the backfield that it's Gainwell will
get touches, but it's that is he's a guy who's
just kind of a desperation play.
Speaker 3 (11:43):
I'm not trying to curse anything. Deandrew Swift does have
an injury history, and it's one of the reasons why
he's not in Detroit anymore. So not as all lost
in that scenario.
Speaker 4 (11:53):
You hope again that he stays healthy.
Speaker 3 (11:54):
But maybe a reason to stash, especially if you actually
do have Deanders Swift on your team and you're interesting
and that interested in that handcuff, that maybe one that
you want to lock up. But Kenneth Gainwell's value dipped
with just four carries against Washington, did have two receptions
for a monster seven yards, but DeAndre Swift even taking
(12:16):
over those the four catches that he had in that
overtime win against the Commanders. All right, So there it
is some high powered fantasy talk. Is Week four is
in the books? By the way, do you see any
value in the New York Giants even if Saquon Barkley
comes back. I just have a hard time playing anybody
not named Sakuon Barkley.
Speaker 5 (12:37):
It's it's so frustrating because as somebody who really bought
into the Darren Waller hype coming into this season, Yeah,
that's not been fun to watch. I will continue to
play Waller simply because I don't have better options a
tight end. But like I wish I was able to
feel good about it because tonight's game was so frustrating
(12:58):
because you know, I'm your Seahawks are now three and one,
but we can acknowledge like they've been strong fantasy matchups.
Four quarterbacks and uh Daniel Jones was looking directly at
defenders and throwing them the ball like it was it was.
(13:20):
It was insane to watch. Yeah, like it's I you
can't really. I I hate that I'm gonna have to
like continue to buy into Darren Waller. But I don't
have much of a choice.
Speaker 3 (13:34):
Okay, quick, quick exercise. Because you say there's not many
tight ends out there that you would you would take,
I'm gonna give you some names and tell me who
you if you would play Waller or play.
Speaker 4 (13:47):
The name that I'm gonna give you.
Speaker 3 (13:48):
Okay, the guy who had the best weekend of any
tight end Cole Comment, Cole Comment or Darren Waller going with.
Speaker 6 (13:57):
I would still go Waller really yeah, yeah, I uh yeah,
because it just, man, it just feels, it feels so wrong.
Speaker 3 (14:10):
But me let me go Jake Ferguson the Cowboys or
Darren Waller.
Speaker 5 (14:15):
I I probably go Ferguson because I do really like
Jake Ferguson, So I okay, I could.
Speaker 3 (14:23):
I could lean that way, Sam Laporta or Darren Waller.
Speaker 5 (14:27):
I would definitely go Laporta.
Speaker 3 (14:28):
I think, yeah, hard, I think I agree as well.
Speaker 4 (14:31):
What about Dalton.
Speaker 5 (14:33):
Schultz after this last week? I oh, man, I guess,
so I guess I would.
Speaker 3 (14:41):
Go Dalton Schultz because throwing them touchdown passes.
Speaker 5 (14:45):
Yeah, I guess. I mean, I still you know, I
play matchups so heavily, so like some of these, some
of these will be very matchup dependent. But yeah, now
that Schultz because after like the first couple of weeks,
he just wasn't super involved. But like, let's we'll wrap
(15:06):
this up. I do want to bring up a point
about the Texans after this, but that's okay.
Speaker 3 (15:09):
Well, let me just put the fact that you're wavering
on Darren Waller or Dalton Schultz. I mean, like, honestly,
it was the Dalton Schultz of last year, it would
be a no brainer, right, Dalton Schultz. Yeah, I don't
see any there. There was no concerted effort to get
him the football. No, there was nothing like, let's scheme
(15:29):
anything up against you know, the Seahawks and and make
this this work at all, Like there is no rhyme
or reason. You have no idea on who's getting into
the flow of anything. I mean, and so I am,
I am. I would be in cell sell sell mode
on Darren Waller if I don't even know what you
could get for him, but all of the names I mentioned,
(15:50):
By the way, Burst, I'll just say this and then
you can make your Texans point. I would take those
guys over Darren Waller, every single one that I mentioned.
Speaker 5 (15:59):
And that's fine, and it's it's so sad that that
is the point that we're at.
Speaker 3 (16:04):
Walter, Henry Hunter, Henry Oh geez, he's been good. Yeah,
you're getting you're getting, You're getting sucked in by the
name of Darren Waller.
Speaker 4 (16:13):
I know, I really am.
Speaker 5 (16:14):
I still want to like, I want to believe, but
it's just been so bad and and I still believe
that they they have to find a way to like
to scheme up more plays for him, right, But then again,
this is what we've said about Kyle Pitt since he
came into the NFL, So, like, I don't know, it's
(16:37):
it's painful.
Speaker 4 (16:39):
It's really bad.
Speaker 3 (16:40):
He was the best guy in the Raiders and they
found ways to get him the football.
Speaker 4 (16:44):
Yeah. Yeah, And he's the best receiver that they have
for the Giants.
Speaker 3 (16:48):
And no offense to my man in Paris Campbell or
Wandale Robinson or Darius Slayton, but those guys are getting
the football.
Speaker 4 (16:56):
Thrown to him. Yeah. Yeah, all right, do you what
you want? You want to give your Texans thought before
we take a time.
Speaker 5 (17:02):
Out, I think we have to view Nico Collins as
a must start every week now, right, like in terms
of and this is a point just too about the
Texans offense in general. Nico Collins seven catches, one hundred
and sixty eight yards and two touchdowns. This is his
second giant way.
Speaker 4 (17:19):
I was saving this for a Wednesday's pot.
Speaker 3 (17:20):
Oh yeah, that's okay, we go ahead, go ahead.
Speaker 5 (17:26):
But yeah, I think that obviously, like Tank Dell had
the big game the week prior and Collins took a
bit of a step back, But after this one, I
think Collins is very clearly the number one in that offense,
and c J. Stroud is just getting better and better
every week. That offense as a whole is now a
(17:46):
passing offense that you want pieces of. And I'm looking
at like this week with what I've got DK metcalf
on buy and my options are Nico Collins, Adam Thielen,
DeAndre Hopkins. So I think it's a pretty easy call
that I go with Nico Collins there.
Speaker 3 (18:01):
Yeah, I agree, I would only play Adam Feelin if
Andy Dalton.
Speaker 5 (18:05):
Starts right exactly.
Speaker 3 (18:08):
I mean, sorry, Bryce Young, but that is that is
the case. Yeah, And uh, yeah, no, there's there's there's
value in Texas and on Damian Pierce hasn't gotten off
to the greatest to start for UH for Houston, but yeah,
we're gonna have a CJ.
Speaker 4 (18:23):
Stroud conversation.
Speaker 3 (18:25):
Pierce ended up having eighty one yards in this UH
in the game against the Steelers. Still not great for
carry got twenty four carries, but there's a commitment to him.
Speaker 4 (18:34):
Which is good, so you'd like to see that.
Speaker 3 (18:36):
But yeah, just the the number one guy in Houston
for sure, Nico Collins. And and we're gonna have a
c J. Stroud discussion coming up on the Wednesday pod
of I Want Your Flex. He is Ryan Berschinger, I'm
Dan Beyer. All right, Howard's gonna join us. Next We're
gonna break down some waiver wire pickups. Also start to
look ahead for week five a little bit. He's Ryan,
Mike's coming in.
Speaker 4 (18:56):
I'm Dan.
Speaker 3 (18:57):
It's next here and I Want Your Flex all right,
Harmon's here, his show's done versus here. I'm Dan Byer,
Get Mike at swellendome, Ryan at Ryan bersching earned me
at Dan Byer on Fox. We just kind of ended
talking about the Giants at the time of this recording,
it is late Monday, early Tuesday, depending on where you are,
(19:17):
and went through the whole Darren Waller value. I don't
think Darren Waller has much value, Mike, and outside of
Saquon Barkley when he's healthy. I mean, I would try
to stay so far away from any New York Giant
I couldn't be. I don't know how far away I'd
have to be. But we're talking time zones when it
comes to the New York Giants in the futility that
(19:39):
they've showed on offense.
Speaker 7 (19:41):
Yeah, Monday Night's performance against your Seahawks, Dan one of
the more miserable watching experiences this side of the fourth
quarter of the Bears Denver Broncos game from Sunday.
Speaker 2 (19:51):
But I digress.
Speaker 7 (19:53):
A thirty five minute rant about eber Flus will be
up in all my socials by midday, two day after
I stopped frothing at the mouth. But yeah, watching the
offensive line is ineptitude. Daniel Jones as bad as he was, Like,
you keep trying to figure out with these squads and
maybe I'm overthinking it all of how much of the
(20:16):
blame pie goes to each part of the process right
with no Andrew Thomas and with Neil looking like a
damn turnstyle that's nicer than Rodney Harrison.
Speaker 4 (20:25):
Right, yeah, turnstyle is.
Speaker 2 (20:27):
A little nicer.
Speaker 7 (20:29):
Is you're not getting but one one thousand or one
Mississippi to get rid of the ball before someone's on you,
so separation. Look, you tried to win the receiving core
game with Waller and just a numbers game, and none
of those guys are difference makers.
Speaker 4 (20:48):
Right.
Speaker 7 (20:49):
You would have thought, you know, the return of Robinson
from injury, that maybe you'd see some creativity to get
in the ball. No, Hyatt is a non factor. Hot
pops up occasionally, but not consistently. Slayton is the same
guy we've seen forever. Waller was supposed to be the
difference maker and now he's reduced to just being a guy.
(21:11):
If you need three receptions and him to fall forward
the length of his body, great, you're not getting much
because you're sure as hell not seeing any red zone
opportunities with this squad right now. So you know, I'd
rather go to these more prolific offense and just say, look,
this guy may only get two targets, but one of
them's in the red. So yeah, it's just a dismal
(21:34):
spot and the number of horror stories of I needed
this from Daniel Jones, like I'm sorry, I'm sorry.
Speaker 3 (21:41):
I was going up against I was going up against
Waller in one of my leagues, thank goodness. So I
was not only was I enjoying it as a Seahawk fan,
I did have some late game stats to follow. But
the great thing that you just did, Mike is I
would even add Paris Campbell to the list. Yeah, like
we all know the names Sterling Shepherd caught a pass.
(22:02):
Yeah on Monday night, Like we can go. We could
go seven deep in terms of the Giants weapons, but
then we're zero for seven for any fantasy value on them.
Speaker 4 (22:12):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (22:12):
On the plus side for them is you know they
only had they held the Seahawks to seventeen points on offense.
Speaker 3 (22:20):
Yeah, with their offensive line missing.
Speaker 2 (22:23):
Yeah, I mean take take that for what it's worth.
Speaker 7 (22:26):
I mean it's hey, man, Pyric victories, Man, Pyeric victories.
Speaker 2 (22:30):
No, but you know, like Gino Smith and whatever.
Speaker 7 (22:32):
I mean, Kenneth Walker got his touchdown run to save
you there, and and the numbers were fine in the
second half. He put on a couple of good runs
to start giving you some numbers. But yeah, over overall,
Monday night football is forgettable. Leading us to Bears Washington
on Thursday.
Speaker 4 (22:50):
Oh yeah, man, you know that game sucks so much.
Speaker 3 (22:55):
I'm gonna let you guys just do the preview for
it for the Thursday pob. I'll just oh, I'll duck
out on that one.
Speaker 4 (23:05):
I do want to, I do want to.
Speaker 3 (23:06):
I do want to bring up this point and then
we'll get into your waiver wire. I was in a
tight game this week, a teen I got chopped. It's
my own fault. I had the worst back, and well,
I played Corderio Patterson. That's how. That's how. That's how
bad it got, Mike that I needed to find a
running back.
Speaker 2 (23:23):
Size of those squads, man, that's tough.
Speaker 4 (23:26):
Yeah it is.
Speaker 3 (23:27):
If I would have played Gary Brightwell instead of Corderol Patterson,
I've actually would have advanced. But that's the completely different story.
I did have Justin Herbert on my team, and I'm
curious in what you guys thought of Brandon Staley not
only running a quarterback sneak on fourth and one with
Justin Herbert and his broken finger, that had you know,
(23:51):
a huge huge brace on it. But also he had
to take he was taking knees out of the piss
because they weren't putting him under center like it was.
He lost ten yards of offense because they were they
were snapping the ball in the pistol formation, so Justin
(24:13):
Herbert could take a knee. I mean, dude, get put
Easton stick out there. You know, like this we touched
on the Sunday Show quickly, but my goodness, like and
it's not foreign that you could lose a fantasy game
because your guy ends up you know, you know, taking
a knee, but dang it, just you know, you probably
(24:37):
lost a full point if you had Justin Herbert.
Speaker 5 (24:39):
I do think about that every time I see quarterbacks, Neil.
I think there is one person somewhere who is going
to lose their fantasy game because of these kneel downs. Yeah, no,
I've I've felt that way for a long time. Like
I think they these can't count against rushing numbers. It's
just it's it's not cool. And for a league that
he's like obviously now with with gambling as well, like
(25:03):
you have to think like they have to actively be
better about or at least institute something that says these
are not rushing yards, like there has to be a
way where.
Speaker 8 (25:16):
Like his total there, I was fine, like I was,
I was fine, but but yeah, no, it's justin they
had to bring out the long snapper practically to.
Speaker 5 (25:28):
For Herbert's and neel down like it was.
Speaker 4 (25:30):
It was.
Speaker 7 (25:31):
It was normally not a guy that does quarterback sneaks either, right,
So I just a weird convergence of events. Yeah, I
mean there's a lot of things when you have the
regulation and expansion of gambling, little things like that that
probably need another look see in terms of how they're
going to be evaluated, because you know, there's gonna be
(25:51):
some sports book that says, you know what, we don't
count and eel downs, and then it's going to cause
your you know, it's like all the dopes that say
we're gonna give your money back because of some incident. Right,
Aaron Rodgers gets hurt on the fourth play, let's give
you your money back. No, right, it's a cost of
doing business. He got a hurt on the field. Yeah right,
I mean, once the game kicks off, it's done, at
(26:14):
least in my mind.
Speaker 2 (26:15):
But I get it.
Speaker 7 (26:16):
You're trying to curry favor against a billion operators out
there and get some customer loyalty. But yeah, this is
one that I would imagine gets it gets a little
bit of a look.
Speaker 2 (26:27):
See.
Speaker 3 (26:28):
Do you know, by the way, on that topic, do
you know the weird looks I get on my face
when I go and cash in a lottery ticket and go,
I'll just take the cash like they ninety five percent
of the time, they just expect you to buy more tickets.
Rolling over, Yeah, yeah, all right, you got twenty bucks.
You're like, I'll just take the cash, Like what don't
(26:48):
you just want, like, you know, four or five dollars tickets.
They look at me like I'm an alien when I
say that.
Speaker 2 (26:55):
Sports us do it.
Speaker 3 (26:56):
No One's like, you know what, I'm gonna take my
ten dollars Aaron Rodd, I'm gonna put that back in
my wallet. Nope, They're like, let's just put it right
back in time for a Zach Wilson prop to lay
that baby out there.
Speaker 7 (27:08):
You go, it's available as a credit to you right away.
Speaker 4 (27:12):
Is Zach Wilson a waiver wire pick up for Week five?
Speaker 2 (27:14):
I didn't quite go that far.
Speaker 7 (27:16):
You know, Desperation does some kind of times make for
strange bedfellows here in fantasy football. But Week five we're
not quite there yet. Although against Denver, you know what
I mean, it's like, I mean, you watch what Justin
Fields was able to do, Cole Comet coming up big,
(27:39):
and but here's the question for the Jets, outside of
Garrett Wilson, if we're gonna play the outside of this guy,
what are we doing with a squad?
Speaker 2 (27:47):
I mean, who's who's catching the ball for?
Speaker 4 (27:51):
Yeah?
Speaker 7 (27:52):
Right, I mean you know they add up there's one
here or two there or three there, whatever. And Denver's
defense is just an absolute train wreck. They got bailed
out by a dopey call that was sniffed out by
anybody with half a brain watching the game, putting Fields
in trouble for that scoop, you know, sack fumble return
(28:16):
for a touchdown, and then the interceptions and miscommunication between
Comet and Fields where if Comet doesn't cut off his route,
it hits him square in the numbers and you know,
move those chains, but ifs and butts and all of
those things when your snake bitting, your snake bitten. But
for the Jets, I think there's an opportunity maybe Zack,
(28:40):
if you want to get a little bit frisky, I'd
be looking at that Thursday game, Sam Howell, the Bears
are going to have no fight coming out of after
that loss, and how fractured that locker room is. Eberflus
fielded twenty questions about why Chase Claypool wasn't around, is
he coming back? All of those things as opposed to
(29:00):
let's take some positives out of you know, this situation
and what Justin did in the game, or let's talk
about the train wreck that was the fourth quarter. It
was all about Chase Claypool and then he goes all right,
let's get to the injury report.
Speaker 2 (29:15):
There are no injury updates. Like the hell you carved
it out. It is the most insane thing I've seen.
Speaker 7 (29:22):
He's got a bye week this week, But long term,
Baker Mayfield owned only in eighteen percent of leagues. Rookie
of the Year CJ. Stroud is still available in more
than fifty percent of leagues as we sit here, that
game against the Steelers did not go anyway, shape or
form near what I expected. How About how many times
(29:42):
do you say that a Steelers team under Mike.
Speaker 2 (29:44):
Tomlin came out and had no heart.
Speaker 4 (29:47):
That might be it's a very very rarely yes.
Speaker 7 (29:51):
And to watch his reaction, like we'll see what kind
of movement follows, pickets, banged up, whatever else. So it
could be my guy, Mitchell Trubisky's time. Not tell you
to pick him up for fantasy, but just you know,
I do still have my Suresy out there. But for Stroud,
he's been fantastic. Now it's just Nico Collins Tank Dell,
(30:11):
both available in about twenty to twenty five percent of leagues.
So maybe take a look and see if anybody's still
been asleep in your league. Desperations a stinky cologne. As
we know, Brita doesn't do much but had a big
catch and run in Monday night, and Saquan is still
a question mark. Look, we're looking for able bodied running
(30:31):
backs at this point, just where you might be able
to steal a couple of carries. So Brita makes the list,
and really according on running backs, that's about it. Like
everybody else's rostered at this point more than fifty percent
that would be on the radar right now. Wide receivers,
(30:52):
you know you're looking at Palmer of the chargers, but
they have a bye week, so not immediate help for
you there. Jamison will Williams, because he's coming back off
suspension at least worth a stash. He's available in two
thirds of leagues. Michael Wilson is intriguing, as is Terrace Marshall.
Two guys that are virtually unowned in weird situations, weird
(31:15):
potential opportunities for both. Again, we're looking for where we
might be able to find some volume. Wilson already with
fourteen catches, had a big week this last week. And
then you get to the tight ends, the aforementioned Comets
available in about half the league's as is Jake Ferguson.
Why because I just want to say the name of
Jake Ferguson.
Speaker 3 (31:34):
Well, you know, Bursch did pick Jake Ferguson over Darren
Waller in our tight end showdout. I'd get on board that,
But do you have second thoughts about your Comet waivering
Bursh that still would take Darren Waller over Cole Comet.
Speaker 5 (31:52):
That's the that's the tough one. I think I would
still need to see a non Broncos game from.
Speaker 7 (32:00):
From Gold commanding on the touchdowns. But there's at least
an effort to get him the ball right and with
DJ Moore probably going to see the safety floating over
his way forever more because they actually pushed the ball downfield.
Speaker 2 (32:17):
Go figure.
Speaker 5 (32:18):
Yeah, I would command. I mean, I do think about
like the second half of last season, he was great,
So yeah, I can definitely see him being a strong
fantasy tight end weekend and week out. I'm just I
don't know.
Speaker 7 (32:34):
That he hates the Bears, and he's not wrong.
Speaker 4 (32:40):
I'll tell you what. I'm still stung from last year.
Speaker 3 (32:42):
I got eliminated in a survivor pool because of what
Justin Fields did to the Patriots on Monday Night Football,
and still still fuming from that one. So I'm not
ready to count out those Bears Thursday night against the Commanders.
You never know. Maybe the short week is gonna help
them because they'll be around each other life.
Speaker 4 (33:00):
Yes, maybe that's gonna be the positive spin on it.
Speaker 3 (33:03):
Who does short, short week road game though usually doesn't
farewell for most teams, and usually poor teams don't handle
those weeks well.
Speaker 4 (33:12):
But yeah, I'll let you guys handle Bears commands.
Speaker 2 (33:14):
Just a vote of no confidence for me, Dan.
Speaker 7 (33:17):
That's kind of where that's you couldn't You had forty
eight hours to script a response as to why this
guy that you traded for wasn't with your team and
won't be with your team, and you fumbled it enough
and tried to lie enough that they took twenty questions
before it was finally no Moss.
Speaker 2 (33:35):
And guess what. At no point did they waive it
saying last question.
Speaker 7 (33:39):
They let him flail out there like he was a
fish being bought onto a boat.
Speaker 3 (33:45):
Oh man, but hey, the good news is the Cubs
didn't make the playoffs, so you've.
Speaker 7 (33:49):
Got that is a big win. That's my guy, Damn Byer.
He knows where my heart is.
Speaker 3 (33:54):
Oh all right, it's a perfect going to end it
for Ryan Burschinger and Mike Karmen.
Speaker 4 (33:59):
I'm not going to be back on Wednesday versus gonna
be year.
Speaker 3 (34:01):
As well, hanging out talking Texans, talking Miami Dolphins.
Speaker 4 (34:06):
Uh yeah, just talking all things NFL fantasy football.
Speaker 3 (34:08):
So we hope you join us then, but until next time,
you have a good one here and I want your
plays
