Speaker 1 (00:00):
Ladies and Jules.

Speaker 2 (00:01):
You want experience during your football season, Well buckle up,
sweet cheeks. What we've got all the experience in the world.

Speaker 3 (00:12):
This is I want your flex.

Speaker 2 (00:15):
With Dan Bayer and Mike Harmon. Mike and Dan break
down everything you need to set your lineups, from position
rankings to starts and sits. The guys help you make
those hard decisions. And now let's get your flex od
here's Dan Bayer and Mike Harmon.

Speaker 4 (00:33):
Week five's off to quite a bang in the National
Football League. He is Mike Harmon. Hit him up at
Swollen Doma. Ian Roddy is our executive producer. Find him
at Ian Roddy Underscore and you can hit me up
at Dan Byer on Fox. We'll get the Blue Sky
working through the throughout the season. We'll mix that in again,
but wow, not Blue Skys for the Los Angeles rams On.
How things turned out on Thursday Night football. Before we

(00:56):
get to Mike's rankings and plays and hot plays and
coltsores and the whole let's just quickly hit on that
Thursday night affair between the forty nine Ersen Rams ending
with the forty nine Ers victory in overtime, something that
not many people expected, and definitely Mike not expected in
the way that it turned out. With the Rams running

(01:16):
it on fourth and one and getting stuffed to lose
by three.

Speaker 5 (01:19):
They ran into the backside of Puka Nikua. He was blocker.

Speaker 1 (01:24):
Not a good option.

Speaker 3 (01:25):
That seemed a bit suspect.

Speaker 5 (01:28):
Look I like the aggressiveness, opportunity to go get the
first down, win the game, and obviously hindsight twenty twenty
down distance, where you're running, how you're running, et cetera.
Kyron Williams left one at the doorstep earlier in the game.
He'd been fantastic, right, He'd put up some numbers for you,
and then he kicked you in the teeth. The other

(01:49):
side was really to me, the entertainment of it all was,
you know, Mac Jones and company getting out to the
big lead. When last week spoke, we had no idea
what was going on with the wide receivers. That's really
where we had to leave it because they were being
coy about injury status maybe maybe not. Instead, everybody's down,
which means Kendrick Bourne rises from the ashes working with

(02:11):
Mac Jones on the two team all year. So ten catches,
one hundred and forty two yards on eleven targets. McCaffrey
does his usual wizardry, but the opening script, you know,
it's like a prize fight.

Speaker 3 (02:24):
Came out of the.

Speaker 5 (02:26):
Corner with arms and guns blazing really fast, and then
you know, made it a game.

Speaker 3 (02:32):
Did the Rams in the second half.

Speaker 5 (02:33):
But watching that offense click with mac Jones was certainly
something to raise an eyebrow.

Speaker 4 (02:39):
Curious to see and how things play out the rest
of the way. As Kyle Shanahan called Rock Party week
to week after the game, I just think that Sean
McVay and I love Sean McVay even though their arrival
of the Seahawks. I love Sean McVay and what he
does and what he says, and he put the blame
on himself with that play called Mike. I don't think
that he in the parts that I heard, didn't elaborate

(03:02):
necessarily on the decision, but I think he was talking
about that play call and I felt that he wanted
to make it personal. You know, these two teams, Shanahan
and mcphay obviously know each other very very well, and
when Kyron Williams fumbled at the end of regulation at
the goal line, I felt like the Rams wanted to

(03:23):
prove something in overtime. Sure, just throw it to Pokin
a cour or Devonte Adams or Kyen Williams out of
the backfield. That's what you do on fourth and one.
Put it in Matthew Stafford's hand. I felt that they
wanted to feel like they got tough, that it would
be a great locker room thing, like.

Speaker 1 (03:38):
Yeah, I fumbled at the one yard line.

Speaker 4 (03:40):
Put in overtime, came up big game ball, Kyen Williams
like that sort of thing.

Speaker 3 (03:44):
Sure that he overcame that gaff.

Speaker 5 (03:47):
Right, he had eight for sixty six with two scores
as a receiver. But we're all gonna remember, you know,
the punch out which every one I see of those
I gotta start logging him. So Charles Tilman gets into
the Hall of Fame. But I had to say, I
agree one hundred percent with you, Dan that it was
about toughness and not giving an inch to the forty
nine ers.

Speaker 3 (04:07):
Instead, they couldn't get that extra what.

Speaker 5 (04:11):
Eight inches point whatever they needed with a little extra push.
And this is where it's difficult, right. We watched it
with the Chargers for years where on short yardage plays
you knew that there was no quarterback sneak or any
anything running off of that, because Philip Rivers didn't do it.
Matthew Stafford's right there with him, so you know he's

(04:32):
handing the ball off where he's going to turn and pass.
So like defensively, you already are at an advantage.

Speaker 4 (04:38):
Well, if you have forty nine Ers players, if they're
going to get healthy. George Kittle, who knows could be
back in the very near future. Is four week expiration
date on IR expired after this game, So there could
be an opportunity for Kittle and some others, maybe Ricky
pier sal Juwan Jennings who didn't play on Thursday night.
Maybe their value is boosted by the play of Mac Jones. Again,

(05:00):
We'll find out the status of PERTY as things goes along.
But week to week was the message from Kyle Shanahan.
All right, let's get to the games that are actually played.
It's a bye week, starting with Buys, Packers, Bears, Steelers,
Falcons all getting arrested in Week five. Mike, let's start
with the top five quarterbacks for the upcoming week of
the NFL season.

Speaker 5 (05:19):
Rady number one, because I'm insane, Patrick Mahomes going up
against the Jacksonville Jaguars had the bounce back.

Speaker 3 (05:26):
Yeah it's Baltimore. What are you gonna do?

Speaker 5 (05:28):
But you're looking at three times he's top twenty three
Fantasy points in a game. The rushing yards weren't there
last time, but the passing yards were. Xavier Worthy back
opening up that offense, Let's see more of it. How
about number two with a bullet Drake may making some
plays with the leg, but he's number four after four
weeks averaging twenty one points per game. We know the
Buffalo defense, banged up, can still make some hay in

(05:51):
that secondary. Jalen Hurts going up against Denver. He's averaging
just over twenty one points a game himself. Rushing yards
and the rushing touchdowns always going to help. Be curious
to see if he tries to make AJ Brown happy
right off the jump.

Speaker 4 (06:06):
I hope AJ Brown has zero targets in Week five.
That's what I'm hoping for. I am sick of the charade.
But they'll play kid him. He'll get a couple of
footballs early and then we'll see how it plays out
from there.

Speaker 5 (06:16):
Well, we'll watch Patrick Sartan chase him.

Speaker 1 (06:18):
Around. Yeah, good luck, so good good luck.

Speaker 5 (06:21):
With that Hey cold sore anybody, Let's put him on
the list already. Josh Allen going up against New England
number one at the position, even with that Week two clunker.
That's what's kind of interesting watching the tops of the
scoring leader boards right now. You don't have a lot
of consistency. Necessarily, there's one that's truly an outlier. Alan
had his look for a bounce back here, and then

(06:41):
we look at Justin Fields going up against Dallas.

Speaker 3 (06:44):
Why it's Dallas.

Speaker 5 (06:46):
It's Dallas twenty nine to twenty seven in the two
complete games that Justin Fields has played.

Speaker 1 (06:51):
How about that Ian Justin Field's top five play.

Speaker 6 (06:54):
I love it.

Speaker 3 (06:54):
I know.

Speaker 6 (06:55):
I just wish he was as good a real life
quarterback as he was a fantasy quarterback.

Speaker 5 (06:59):
That is, unfortunately that fantasy reality divide something that I
don't know by you, Dan, but I've been fighting that
good fight for twenty five years that the two can
run in parallel with one another.

Speaker 3 (07:11):
Yeah, and we can celebrate them both.

Speaker 4 (07:13):
It's why I think I have a positive aspect and
outlook on Dak Prescott. To be honest with you, I
feel like my fantasy. My fantasy tendencies lean in, and
maybe I'll ignore some of the big games or some
of the misthrows because of the pinball like numbers that
he put up last week.

Speaker 1 (07:30):
Right, but hey, Dak's actually been pretty good this year.

Speaker 4 (07:32):
So but I do feel that fantasy does leak into
sometimes your psyche.

Speaker 5 (07:37):
If only the guy had a little bit of defense
working around it. But we'll leave that for another time.

Speaker 1 (07:42):
All right, Let's get to the top five running backs
for Week five.

Speaker 3 (07:44):
Jamiir Gibbs.

Speaker 5 (07:45):
He's second most Fantasy points allowed to running backs by
these Bengals thus far, Gibbs ranking fifth and half PPR.
Even after that Week one meltdown where we all got
nervous against Green Bay, what happened?

Speaker 3 (07:59):
Now, he's just fine.

Speaker 5 (08:00):
James Cook going up against New England, twentieth ranked against
running backs, He's the top back. His worst game of
the year, eighteen point seven points. Yeah, let's take that
consistency going bounce back. Jonathan Taylor going up against Las Vegas.
He's got the high floor. Right, We're getting into double digits,
even though he doesn't do anything for us in the
passing game. Double digits all four games, two explosives and

(08:23):
second and third week Las Vegas. I think maybe smarting
a little bit after that game against Chicago, maybe a
little bit of a letdown scenario here. Amarion Hampton going
up against Washington up to eleventh and a half PPR
leagues back to back. He's been absolutely tremendous, the big
thing we love, very active in the passing game, so

(08:43):
we're getting those easy targets, receptions, and then once he
gets starts with a head of steam, it's gonna be.

Speaker 3 (08:50):
A problem for you.

Speaker 5 (08:51):
And then number five with a slight edge over some
of the usual suspects. How about eight Chan going up
against Carolina for the very reason that I just gave
about Hampton, he's going to be active in the past game.
No Tyreek Hill, curious to see, you know how the
targets shakeout? Waddle Darren Waller. Are we buying the encore?

(09:12):
They're saying he's gonna have a bigger I can it
be bigger than what he did?

Speaker 3 (09:17):
I don't know.

Speaker 5 (09:18):
But for HM, we know we're gonna get to our
eighteen to twenty one touches at a minimum in this
one going up against Carolina. So consistency's starting to build
mid teens. In a couple of games, he's top twenty one,
so let's go higher floor for him.

Speaker 1 (09:34):
Yeah, I think that actually could be a little fun one.

Speaker 4 (09:37):
It's not gonna be my points of Baluza this week,
but I do think that you could have some fun
with Carolina trying to bounce back from their dismal performance
that they had in Week four. They're back home, and
the last time they were home, they took it to
the Falcons, so we'll see if they do it to
the Dolphins in week five. All right, let's get to
the pass catchers, the wide receivers top five for Week five.

Speaker 5 (09:56):
Some of them, I'll just say the name, and we'll
just shrug at each other and move on. I'm on
Ross Saint brown Let's get another Lions player up there.
Seventeen point five or better, three straight games, twenty seven
of thirty two target I mean, just absolutely insane efficiency.

Speaker 3 (10:12):
And he's already got six touchdowns.

Speaker 5 (10:13):
I got to imagine that the Detroit defensive front gets
all over mister Browning, and we got ourselves almost called
them mister Brownstone, mister Browning, and all of a sudden,
we got ourselves some short field opportunities for Golfing Company
JSN against Tampa, averaging six point five receptions and one
hundred yards per game through four. Take the targets, take
the consistency. Let's keep it rolling. How about Nico Collins

(10:36):
against Baltimore. Do I trust this team?

Speaker 2 (10:37):
And no?

Speaker 5 (10:38):
But the Baltimore defense is absolutely SIV Like. We still
need to find him some consistent help in the receiving court,
but that's just fine. Baltimore might struggle to field actually
a full eleven. I'm waiting on a call to see
if they need me to go run some you know,
at least pretend to play some defense. Justin Jefferson against Cleveland,
we keep waiting for more his best outing in Ireland.

(11:01):
He finally got over seventeen points. Cleveland's not exactly the
one where we're looking for a monster game. But with
the return of Addison, we have to start playing a
little bit of chess with Carson Wentz as I'm like
doing like this weird little dance and the chair as
I'm going here pulling strings here, dan Ian's looking at
me like I'm insane. And finally, how about Garrett Wilson
against those Dallas Cowboys. I had justin fields in the quarterback. Hey,

(11:26):
he should have gotten me there last year. Last week, right,
they had that nonsensical offensive pass interference call. Now maybe
it wouldn't have eventually given him another touchdown opportunity, but
either way, nineteen nineteen seventeen opportunity knocks here. Fifth most
targets in the National Football League through four weeks and
an opportunity against the civil like defense. I use SIV

(11:48):
like again, there you go, not going down that road.
I won't go through the hat trick because then I
get penalized like beetlejuice. Beetlejuice can't say it a third time.
And just outside the top five, we've got our guy,
mister Pickens on the other side of that game against
the Jets. Why just chuck it up and let them
go make places.

Speaker 4 (12:05):
I said, the Jets look in their uniforms this week,
but they are not going to hold a candle to
what we're going to see in Seattle on Sunday. And
Jackson Smith and Jigba maybe the best looking Seahawk in
their throwback uniforms that they wear, and the Buccaneers also
celebrating their fiftieth season in the NFL. Will be wearing
their nineteen seventy six white Bucko Bruce uniforms in Seattle.

(12:28):
It is a full throwback game to the two teams
that came in for the teams that came into the
league at the same time in nineteen seventy six, It's
going to be magical.

Speaker 1 (12:38):
I'm in the late.

Speaker 4 (12:39):
Window for the end Zone show that we do on
Fox Sports Radio. Aside from the Seahawks playing, it's just
going to be very difficult to peel my eyes away
from the beauty of the uniforms of that contest.

Speaker 5 (12:51):
Did you get yourself a large in or somebody yet?
Do you have the jersey to go with the mini.

Speaker 4 (12:55):
Onlet I have always wanted a back in the day
when Sean this is from the nineties. I'm just never
a big jersey guy, never a big jersey guy, but
I always wanted a Sean Springs White Seahawks throwback. Royal
blues a little tough to wear at times, especially for me,
just not my color, not that I really have colors, however,

(13:16):
that was always one that I always looked back on
that I would love. I loved Brian Blades in the
White Seahawks. Yes, throwback they'll be wearing their blues. But yeah,
those are some of the names that I'd love.

Speaker 5 (13:26):
Two of our favorites back in the day. My little
brother and I we sometimes while watching games go on
little letter writing campaigns and send some cards to get
autographed to the stadium. I'll have you know, both Springs
and Blades two very good signers through that, all right,
And usually I added a little bit of a note
with whatever you said.

Speaker 4 (13:46):
Brian Blades kind of had to take the torch from
Steve Largent and had a couple of years so they
overlapped with each other.

Speaker 1 (13:51):
But when I was a kid.

Speaker 4 (13:53):
He was my favorite Seahawks outside of Dave Craig of course,
of course, yeah, absolutely, all right, there you are your
top five wide receivers for Week five, the running backs
and the quarterbacks as well. There's the flip side of
the coin, the guys you don't want to get your lineup.
We're going to get to those next, plus some other
guys that you should maybe play because of their favorable
matchups this week. And you know, we got a shocker

(14:14):
coming up in streaming defenses. Ian's going to be laying
I guessed it, Mike, I have to say that. I
went to Ian earlier prior to the show, and I said,
you've got blank as a streaming defense this week. I
kind of phrased it like that, Ian, right, Like that's
kind of how I phrased it.

Speaker 6 (14:31):
Our yes, hit accurate a picture for the Yankees.

Speaker 1 (14:37):
We'll find out.

Speaker 4 (14:38):
We'll find out, Yes, we will find out, coming up
a bit a bit later here, and I want your flags,
all right, Let's get to the hot plays for week five.
He's Mike Carmen, that's he and Roddie our executive producer.
I'm Dan Beyer. The guys that didn't make the top
five at the quarterback running back of wide receiver positions,
and Mike even sprinkles and some tight ends here and there.

Speaker 1 (14:58):
Mike, who do you got to get lineup? This week?

Speaker 5 (15:01):
Let's grab a couple of chargers right off the bat
against Washing. They're coming in banged up, offensively, missing a
bunch of component parts, looking for the defense to get
right for Justin Herbert, for Quinton Johnston to continue their run.
Herbert through four weeks, only one massive week, but he's
been nice and consistent.

Speaker 3 (15:16):
All right.

Speaker 5 (15:17):
The bottom's not falling out. Ninth through four weeks for him.
You look at Johnston, He's fourth and half PPR leagues
tied for the fourth most targets in the league. So
even with Ladin mconkey there, and I know folks are
really kind of sad, and we've talked about that at
nauseum on the podcast Guys. That continues here more Keenan,

(15:38):
Allen Moore, Johnston, all right, Daniel Jones against the Raiders.
His numbers have declined three straight weeks for fantasy purposes,
so we're maybe at our last run of him as
a fantasy guy. Of course, ad Na Mitchell doesn't drop
the ball. Now we're talking maybe a completely different story,
but we got to take it where it is. Kyler

(15:58):
Murray going up against Tennessee again, not we haven't gotten
that massive breakout game running the ball.

Speaker 3 (16:04):
Maybe it's this.

Speaker 5 (16:05):
Week because well there's nobody left day Mercato, anybody because
no Trey Benson, no, no James Connor. So maybe we
see a little more with his legs. But eighteen fifteen,
fourteen eighteen consistency against Tennessee. And this is where the
Arizona defense that i'd push them chips in say they

(16:25):
drafted all sorts of defensive players.

Speaker 3 (16:27):
It's gonna be better.

Speaker 5 (16:28):
Maybe this is the week because you know, Tennessee, the
players are all pointing fingers like the spider Man meme
at this point.

Speaker 4 (16:34):
Well, also, Mike, just for people who want to know,
Marcell Ship is out, so is JJ Arrington, and Stump
Mitchell won't play for the Cardinals this week.

Speaker 1 (16:44):
Stump Mitchell, let's go.

Speaker 3 (16:45):
We're going.

Speaker 5 (16:47):
You know what, You're gonna have a stack of card
sitting at the desk when you come in on Sunday,
and damn it, there will be a Stump Mitchell in there.

Speaker 3 (16:53):
I can promise you.

Speaker 1 (16:54):
Ian. Have you ever heard the name Stump Mitchell.

Speaker 6 (16:56):
I've heard the name, but I never never got the
watch the man.

Speaker 1 (17:02):
You Toobe just no solid player just played for the Cardinals.
Was running back for the Cardinals.

Speaker 5 (17:08):
Generally, if you went and played for the Cardinals, no
disrespect to my guy. You know, Ron wolf Lee, you
know and all those guys. Not exactly a hot bed
of activity for a while there.

Speaker 4 (17:19):
Also because when they played in Saint Louis, the field
was one and seventy degrees when they would play at
the old Butch Stadium, So I may be exaggerating but
not by much.

Speaker 1 (17:29):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (17:30):
I think they were roasting marshmallows and dogs in the
anybody need a hot dog?

Speaker 3 (17:36):
Who's got one? Crazy?

Speaker 5 (17:39):
All right, let's go back to the battery raph camp Scattum.
I'm going up against New Orleans workhorse in week four.
That's the thing we want to see. We want to
see those touches rising week over week. Only three point
eight yards per carry, but you know how we make
it up. Volume and the fact that he will find
that guy in the back seven that he's gonna target,
He's gonna run right through him. The other thing is
he's now catching the ball out of the backfield, and

(17:59):
that's going to be very important. He will become the
safety valve for young Jackson Dart who's gonna eventually learn
to play with a little less reckless abandon not so
much that it limits what he's doing with his legs whatever.
But you know the pinball stuff he was doing last week,
They probably showed that on video, saying let cam do that,
let him do that.

Speaker 3 (18:19):
Javonte Williams going up against the Jets.

Speaker 5 (18:21):
He's been a workhorse and a great surprise for fantasy owners,
those that won him off of waivers. Or took that
late round flyer. However it worked out. It's working thus far.
Sixth in half PPR leagues. You'll continue to see a
big workload as well. I mean they do everything they
can to keep that defense off the field. See what
I did there, extra shot at Eberflus and the defense

(18:44):
Quinn John Judkins, Hey, you got to get up early
to watch him. But he's going up against Minnesota. Back
to back huge games against Green Bay and Detroit, two
defenses we love.

Speaker 3 (18:54):
Well.

Speaker 5 (18:54):
He did his work and he's starting to be included
in the passing game. As they were chasing, the Lions
always assume they're going to be chasing at least a
little bit. And once he gets ahead of steam on
opportunity two more quick wide receivers, zaf you're worthy five
for eight for eighty three, two rushes for thirty eight
yards in his return. Guy, that really changes the complexion

(19:16):
of that offense altogether. And then Jalen Waddell, welcome to
number one territory, going up against Carolina up to the
number one, three or more catches each game. All right,
that's not world beating, but we're at least getting some
level of consistency and a floor to work. With the
target count I imagine gets augmented with no Tyreek Hill
averaging just six per game, here's an opportunity for a

(19:37):
little more work, little more opportunity, and paydirt for your
fantasy squad.

Speaker 4 (19:42):
I am no Chiefs fan, but I will say they
are better to watch when they're more of the offensive
team than the defensive team they've been over the last
few years.

Speaker 5 (19:50):
Patrick Mahomes, which just store carries for five yards. The
less running he's doing, I think the better it is
for all. But yeah, I get your point, though, Dan,
I think everyone he wants them to go away.

Speaker 4 (20:01):
Yeah, I think, all right, all right, let's uh if
at least at least there's fantasy stuff with it. Like man,
it was just handing off the Pacheco and he gets
seventeen carries for sixty four yards, and Kelsey's got four
catches for twenty eight and you just wonder if Rahi, Rashi,
Rice or Somebody's gonna have a touchdown Like That's it's

(20:23):
not fun, not fun fantasy wise.

Speaker 1 (20:25):
At least they're putting up some points.

Speaker 3 (20:26):
I'm not gonna lie.

Speaker 5 (20:27):
I was really kind of hoping that it would stay
for another week or two and then there would be
some break glass and some massive trade. Oh they came
out of the blues, like wait what like that? That
was the thing with Tyreek Hill. If he's still not happy,
maybe you know whatever. But alas that will not come
to be.

Speaker 4 (20:44):
All right, those are the hot plays. Let's go to
the cold. Soares the guys you want out of your
lineup for a week five?

Speaker 5 (20:48):
All right, No Trevor Lawrence against the aforementioned Kansas City defense.
We'll take the low hanging fruit here. More than twelve
fantasy points scored just once this year. You're looking more
at the run game. We've talked about it a lot
with etn I expect more of the same. And this
defense flying around for case Bo Nicks against Philadelphia, it's
been an even odd thing. Is like Brett Saberhagen to

(21:09):
throw an old baseball and cross sports for a minute
where Cy Young, Cy Young, and then eventually he's a
pitcher for the Rockies. But either way, huge weeks two
and four against Phillies. D I'm not expecting Peter. That's
why I also have Courtland Sutton on the list. We
mentioned it. He you know, the other side of it,
A J. Brown, He's he's got his man certain well,

(21:33):
Sutton's gonna have Mitchell chasing ms. So this is where
we start looking down the depth chart. Maybe we'll get
to that in then Ninja territory in a minute. Baker
Mayfield in those sweet uniforms against Seattle, he'll look good.
He will not play well, but we've gotten consistency from
him thus far, so that that at least keeps him
at the back end of the ones. But I'm not

(21:53):
expecting huge upside here, Dan.

Speaker 1 (21:56):
Yeah, it's last week.

Speaker 4 (21:58):
I mean, they were being taken care of by the
Eagles and then he had a couple of the big plays.
And you still wonder just at some point to some
of some of the injuries. You know, Bucky Irvings's status
as we talk about this matchup coming up on Sunday
at this point, he hasn't been practicing this week, so
that's a concern.

Speaker 1 (22:15):
So there may be some attrition.

Speaker 4 (22:16):
No matter what the forty nine ers told you on
Thursday night, sometimes those things still catch up with you
and the Seahawks. Honestly, the defense is really really good
in the front four. They can get pressure on Mayfield
it's going to make it difficult for Baker against throwing
against those other seven.

Speaker 3 (22:31):
Yeah, they're flying around all right. Let's get back to
the running backs. How about Derrick Henry.

Speaker 5 (22:35):
He's now going to become a frequent contributor on this
list going up against that Houston front. Banged up on
the offensive line, No Ronnie Stanley, and really the right
side has been a problem. No Lamar Jackson quite obviously.
So what do you do your key on Derrick Henry
who hasn't been much of a fantasy factor since Week one?

(22:55):
So now you got it, plus the fumbling issues everything else,
he's a no fly's back end too for me, perhaps
a little bolder than a lot of the colleagues in
the fantasy world.

Speaker 3 (23:05):
I'll put my name on it. That's fine.

Speaker 5 (23:07):
How about Ashton Genty He looked great with whatever the
Michael Myers stance and everything against the Bears. This isn't
the Bears Indianapolis eighth fewest fantasy points the running backs
gets his. He's in as an RB two. I'm not
expecting anymore obligatory shot at myself for really trying to
hype Chase.

Speaker 3 (23:25):
Brown this year. Thirty second and half pprs right.

Speaker 1 (23:30):
Now, man not good, not good at all?

Speaker 5 (23:33):
All right, Tuba Hubbard might go, but he's missed a
couple of practices the last couple of weeks. He's been
a non factor. So we sit him down and then
Jamison Williams. You want to take this shot that he
has the big play. Maybe it's there. Cincinnati's not very good,
but is he the guy whose number gets called?

Speaker 3 (23:51):
I don't know.

Speaker 5 (23:52):
When you're only getting two receptions in a couple of
these games, I'm not rolling the dice right now. Week
five a pivotal spot to try to get yourself on
the plus side. Right. A lot of teams sitting at
two and two or lagging behind, here's the chance to
go find something a bit more consistent.

Speaker 4 (24:09):
I find that Lions Bengals game interesting just for the
fact of we feel that the Bengals are just such
an absolute mess.

Speaker 1 (24:18):
To your point, Mike, the Lions will just have to
pick how they.

Speaker 4 (24:21):
Want to beat the Bengals, right, do we want to
run over them or do we want to get Jamison
Williams and other guys in the in the mix. I mean,
I'm on Rosy number one, Rode receiver. He's a set
it and forget it.

Speaker 1 (24:34):
Guy.

Speaker 4 (24:34):
But it's almost like, yeah, pick your point, pick your
poison if you're Dan Campbell in the Lions, because short
week for the Bengals too. I know they're home, but
still you just got done playing in Denver. You just
got manhandled in Denver. Now you got to go and
face this physical team of the Lions. Yeah, things not
good in Cincinnati.

Speaker 5 (24:52):
Schedule makers did you no favor? Injury God's already done
smite you. And now the schedule Gods gets you on
this short week. That is too terrible games to have
to play back to back because even if you get
the extra couple of days on the other side, you
have no idea what you're physically, what you're coming out
of after this one.

Speaker 1 (25:09):
Yeah. Absolutely, those are the cold source four.

Speaker 4 (25:12):
Week five, let's get to the sneaky place, some ninjas
and I know Ian's waiting.

Speaker 1 (25:16):
Could we even have more jets? Just kidding? Who knows,
We'll see. We'll find out the ninjas for week five?

Speaker 3 (25:21):
Yeah, how about it? Why don't we get more jets?

Speaker 1 (25:23):
All right, let's do it.

Speaker 3 (25:26):
We got to go to.

Speaker 5 (25:27):
Our man, our tight end, Mason Taylor. Mason Taylor, Big
game last week gave us the over. It was like
twenty two and a half yards. Yeah, past that with
flying colors.

Speaker 6 (25:37):
He was involved, more of them, he was involved. Yeah, yeah,
I think he had like five or six catches last
week and his return to Miami because that's where his
family's from. Son of Hall of Famer Jason Taylor is
in Miami Dolphins legend. But yeah, young Mason, he looked good.
He looks out of the Jason Taylor viral moment I did.
I did. That was actually his wife, though they tried
to make it into a hole cold play things.

Speaker 3 (25:59):
Let's see. Wait, we got to fix that in post.
Nobody knows, but I did.

Speaker 6 (26:03):
When I saw it live, I did kind of be
like whoa, you know, because it was like she stood
up right when the camera got there. It looks really
really suspicious. But yeah, that was his wife. So we're
all good.

Speaker 4 (26:12):
Listen, there's one thing of doing it at a concert.
It'd be I mean, the balls if that were to
actually happen.

Speaker 6 (26:20):
Yeah, with his son sitting right there too.

Speaker 1 (26:22):
That a personal suite.

Speaker 5 (26:23):
Yeah, yeah, you're saying it didn't happen, not in this
particular case. All right, let's get to the Ninjas. Let's
start with CJ. Stroud, wishing, wanting, hoping again. It's it's opportunity.
It's the fact that we have four teams on by right, Pittsburgh, Chicago, Atlanta,
Green Bay toy set opportunity here best outing of the

(26:46):
year and week four with an eighteen point performance, So
perhaps we can double down. Jackson Dart going against New
Orleans nineteen point eight fantasy points in his first start again.
I fear him being broken in half if he runs
like he did last week. I know you want to
prove your toughness, etc. Live to see another day, man,
and this is an opportunity to do it against a

(27:07):
New Orleans squad. I know you're missing Malik Neighbors now,
but Wandell Robinson, a guy that we hang a star on.
Perhaps we see a little more of him. He was
three to five for just fourteen yards last week, but
perhaps a little bit more in the offing here two
a tongue of I low again, no Tyreek Hill, but
with Waller back eight Chan out of the backfield. Jalen

(27:29):
Wattle last couple of weeks starting to see a little
more consistency. The floor is rising for him like he's
never going to be that top five guy that we
were wishing and hoping for when they were flying around
for McDaniel. But again, strange bedfellows when we're talking about
the number of injuries and bye weeks out there, Woody marks, boy,
I'm really picking on Baltimore whatever. So are the every

(27:52):
offense they face one hundred and nineteen total yards, two scores,
twenty one touches. It's time Nick Chubb was running in mud.
Joe Mixon is not ready. Here's your opportunity. This is
the thing that might be able to spring CJ. Stroud
a little bit forward, right, get a little play action going,
get him as a safety valve out of the backfield
for a big play. Play a little tempo to maybe

(28:16):
disguise a little bit of your deficiencies in your receiving core.
Whatever the case is, Opportunity knocks dem Barcado mentioned him
in passing two catches, two receptions, had the touchdown, twenty
one total yards. Look next man up right, that's what
we're looking at. Likewise, for Tampa, this is where it
gets fun. We're not quite sure Bucky Irving's status right

(28:37):
was in the walking boot as we record, still a
big queue that's blinking at me as I look at it.
So perhaps we get an opportunity for Shot White or
even last year a couple of games you got Sean Tucker.
I think I get royalties or some kind of payment
from Smith. I mentioned as Syracuse guy, So make sure
to cut and print that Ted McMillan going up against

(28:59):
my eighteen to thirty five. Yeah, not exactly efficient, but
he's gone for sixty or more receiving yards three games.
Catch him at least twenty one yard in every game
this season, so they're at least gonna take their shots
down field to get him the ball. I mentioned that
Denver Philly game. Yeah I can't. I can't really endorse
someting where you know, normally would rank him. But how
about a little Marvin Mims going up against the second

(29:21):
corner like we always talk about with Philadelphia as they
still try to figure things out. Trey Tucker against Indianapolis,
they had a guy quit. That's all I'm gonna say.
Uh No, smallest week against the Bears after that explosion
in Week three, but still part of the offense. I
gotta think Gino's moderately better than he was a week ago,

(29:41):
and then we'll go back to that Cleveland Minnesota game.
Tilman out, How about Isaiah Bond as a deep ninja
play maybe in your daily fantasy or something like that.
Seven catches for eighty five yards. But he's worked the
second unit with Dylan Gabriel, So maybe I'm wishing, wanting
and hoping that he finds a familiar face downfield.

Speaker 1 (30:02):
Yeah, his situation in the draft process.

Speaker 4 (30:04):
And then how it played out with him and going
to Cleveland completely overshadowed because of Shador Sanders, then the
Quinn shot Judkins situation.

Speaker 1 (30:15):
But Bond's story is unique, but the talent.

Speaker 4 (30:18):
Is there and Cleveland doesn't have a lot of it
on the offensive side of the ball. So maybe Dylan
Gabriel can find some find something there with Isaiah Bond
against Minnesota.

Speaker 5 (30:29):
As long as Bond responds to him yelling hot route
because Flores is gonna blitz the hell out of them.

Speaker 4 (30:36):
Well, we know Shador Sanders can send in sides on
the sideline since he can do it in the locker
room as he's mining away. Oh what a week? What
a week never ends with the Browns. Someone on Instagram
said that my obsession with the Browns is borderline psychotic,
and it's not. It's just they keep on giving us material.
That's all that it is. They just keep on providing

(30:58):
it unprovoked. The Cleveland Browns, I guess, are the Thanksgiving
mood because they're just always giving up.

Speaker 3 (31:06):
So they'll be on.

Speaker 5 (31:06):
The list that we put up when we do our
Thanksgiving episode. I've already got. I mean, what are their
fifteen different stories? And even if they don't result in
much other than the day of can you believe this happened?

Speaker 1 (31:18):
Yeah?

Speaker 5 (31:18):
That the stories are in that day and they are
gifts that keep given to us.

Speaker 6 (31:24):
I can I just also say with Shador, I see
a lot of people questioning why the media was even
asking him what he thought as the QB three. I
just think if people are playing dumb when they ask
that question, because it's like to act like Shador Sanders
is not newsworthy, and to act like his opinion after
the guy getting drafted ahead of him is now going

(31:45):
to be the starter, Like to act like his opinion
doesn't matter in that and the general public isn't interested
in what he has to say, Like the media shouldn't
have been asking him. It's crazy to me.

Speaker 4 (31:55):
I think that there's a legitimate story to be like,
you aren't moved up to number two, what's the reason
why exactly?

Speaker 1 (32:00):
You know, like that would be.

Speaker 4 (32:01):
And I think we kind of understand the reason why
he is in, Like the Browns can't play Flacco right now,
Gabriel is the next step. But from everything that we
had we had heard report wise the Rex Ryan comments,
I think we're completely taken over the edge by those
that love shoud Or Sanders. Rex Ryan basically just said
I know people in the league, so I know what's

(32:24):
going on inside the walls in Cleveland, and it doesn't
sound like shad Or Sanders is giving one hundred percent
in trying to learn everything that he can. And so
this goes along with everything that we have heard previously,
and I don't even think that I think that's a
that's a fair criticism for all the stupid stuff that
Rex Ryan may say at other times, hearing stuff from
people you know is the reason why you're on the desk,

(32:46):
and at least one of the reasons why you're on
the desk.

Speaker 3 (32:48):
Well, are all cycles in right?

Speaker 5 (32:49):
Joe Flacco, when being asked about Dylan Gabriel, went out
of his way to talk about how much time and
effort he spends in questions he asks in preparation to
think that that doesn't you know, have at least uh
you know in the giant part pie chart some percentage
that's directed at Shador Sanders is to me foolhardy. Now,

(33:10):
I think a fair question is you know, why is
the third guy available? I think that was that was
another question, like that's a completely separate topic. But again
he's entertaining, and it becomes obfuscation, right, yes, and what confirmation?
Biased or maybe just adding fuel to the fire?

Speaker 3 (33:29):
Up? What here? Here's what you wanted? This is what
he's getting there.

Speaker 6 (33:33):
And and it's it's shaudeur. I mean it's it's Dion
Sanders's son who was drafted way later than anybody expected
him to be drafted, and now he's in this situation
as the QB three in Cleveland, which is one of
the biggest storylines in the NFL. For people to act
like that he shouldn't be having the media talk to him.
It's it's just crazy.

Speaker 1 (33:52):
Yeah, there's a there's a there's a lot that's going on.

Speaker 4 (33:55):
And listen, it's not like it's not like Shador hasn't
been done wrong here or there because it's happened. But
when you mime and make it about yourself and are
passive aggressively trying to say that I'm a victim here
because what I say gets taken out of context. You know,

(34:15):
he could have just given us coach speak and you're
talking to someone who hates coach speak. So I actually
do like an honest opinion, But I also understand the
role that shud Or Sanders is in and the things
that you have to say or don't say as a
third string quarterback, right, and miming never came up to

(34:36):
in anybody's mind, and it just came off as childish
and unprofessional.

Speaker 3 (34:41):
How does it help any situation?

Speaker 1 (34:43):
Right?

Speaker 5 (34:43):
Even Like when I first saw it, I kind of
chuckled for a second, and then I'm like, why would
you do this when everybody's looking you know, not everybody,
but you know the proverbial everybody is looking for, you know,
the extra checkbox in whichever column they want to go
to either he's persecuted or this is another reason he

(35:04):
get drafted.

Speaker 3 (35:05):
Why feed into it?

Speaker 1 (35:07):
Yeah, I don't get it. I don't get it at all.

Speaker 5 (35:10):
It's like it's like a Lebron James. I want to
headline about me. That is that the.

Speaker 1 (35:16):
It's better we talked about than not talked about. I guess. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (35:19):
All right, let's take a time out. Our final segment
coming up streaming defenses. Plus I got some Survivor on
points of Polouza for you. That's next year, and I
want your flex All right, Mike Carmon could sit back
and relax. Ian Rodney and myself would do the heavy
lifting here is. Ian's got some streaming defenses for you,
and I'll follow up with the points of p loser

(35:40):
and Survivor pick. What do you got Ian? On the
defensive side of the things.

Speaker 6 (35:43):
All right, Dancy, you teased it earlier. Let's start with
that one. The New Orleans Saints were the defense that
you correctly guessed earlier. Yeah, they're only one day wodat
They're only one point eight percent rostered right now in
the ESPN leagues last I checked, so very very very
available at I.

Speaker 4 (36:02):
Am I am part of the one point eight percenters?
Are you not only that they are in my starting
lineup this week?

Speaker 1 (36:09):
Yes?

Speaker 3 (36:09):
Right, let's go.

Speaker 1 (36:11):
I'll tell you.

Speaker 4 (36:11):
I'll give you another point, just because he's picking them
here as soon as Jackson Dart said this week that
he remembers that the Saints passed on him, like I'm like,
all right.

Speaker 1 (36:22):
All right, it's over all.

Speaker 4 (36:23):
Right, Like this is the Jackson Dart should not have
a checklist of teams that he can't wait to be like,
I'm sorry, like it's we're not at that point. They
were a two justin Herbert bad interceptions away from losing
last week.

Speaker 1 (36:38):
All right, let's be real.

Speaker 4 (36:39):
So so yeah, so I am all in on the
Saints this week, and but this way I have Texans defense.
They're going up against the Ravens, like right, and Mike said,
Ravens may not even be able to.

Speaker 1 (36:48):
Feel the team right now, but I'm going to roll
with the Saints against the Giants.

Speaker 3 (36:52):
I love that.

Speaker 6 (36:53):
And to that point too, Dan Jackson Dart wasn't even
considered some slam dunk first round pick the.

Speaker 5 (36:58):
Giants last college season, and then it drifted right.

Speaker 6 (37:02):
Yeah, a little up and down. So you know, the
Giants traded up to get him. But it's not like
he was someone who was a lock to go in
the first round. So he shouldn't feel slighted by every
team passing on him anyway. Whatever, I'm digressing at this point,
but if you can get a chip that helps you,
Sure it worked for Jordan. No, he's still mad at everybody. Yeah,

(37:24):
but yeah, Saints defense, like I said, one rostered, and
like we've been saying, they're playing against Jackson Dart, who
had a solid debut last week against the Chargers. Despite that,
though the Chargers defense actually still had a pretty good
fantasy day against him. They got six sacks.

Speaker 4 (37:41):
Uh.

Speaker 6 (37:41):
And the Saints defense themselves, they've actually given up some
big plays to good defenses over the year, but other
than those plays, if you take those out, they've been
quietly pretty solid and they've gotten at least three sacks
in every game but won this season, so they're actually
playing surprisingly well. H Dart could improve here, but until
we actually see it, I'm expecting him to continue to

(38:02):
taking a lot of sacks. And he doesn't have the
league neighbors anymore either, so that's something to know too.
But moving on next, the Indianapolis Colts fifty four percent rostered,
so a little less available, but still in a just
under half of league's out there, they should be there
playing against the Raiders, who we've been targeting when looking
at streaming defenses. The Bears last week were a good play.

(38:22):
They were playing against the Raiders Gino Smith. He's thrown
a league leading seven interceptions so far and taking sacks
at the sixth highest rate in the entire league. So yeah,
Colts defense, I think they're going to be pretty good.
Lou Ana Rumo has been scheming over Colton Miller out too.
That's a good point, great point, Mike. I didn't even
take that into account, but that's even more reason to
play Colton Miller, one of the raiders best offensive linemen.

(38:45):
And then lastly, here the Arizona Cardinals fifty seven percent
roster playing against the Titans, who have been arguably the
worst team in the league through four weeks. Titans have
also allowed sacks and pressure at the second highest rate
in the league, and three of the four defenses to
face the Titans this year have scored at least thirteen
fantasy points.

Speaker 1 (39:04):
Wow.

Speaker 6 (39:05):
Yeah, And the one week that they didn't give up
thirteen fantasy points, that team still got eight fantasy points.
So it's just you just want to be chasing after them.
When streaming defenses and this week. The Cardinals are up next,
so looking for them.

Speaker 4 (39:20):
There is going to be a lot of people who
will pick the Cardinals for Survivor in Week five. And
I think there's going to be a lot of people
that will pick the Colts as survivor in week five.
And they fit my profile, both of them not playing
a division opponent at home, and heck, now you even
got for the Titans and Cardinals cross conference, so there's

(39:43):
not like a rivalry built up or a reason to
maybe get up for a game. Yeah, so I think
you're going to see a lot of Arizona. You're going
to see a lot of the Colts.

Speaker 1 (39:52):
Guys.

Speaker 4 (39:53):
The scary thing is is you saw a lot of
Rams on Thursday night and I had a RAMS entry.
I had three Survivors entries left went RAMS on one
of them, and I went against my rule.

Speaker 1 (40:04):
And even though last week against.

Speaker 4 (40:05):
The Titans it worked because it was a division matchup
with the Texans and Titans didn't work this time around.
I try to stay away from the divisional matchups. So
you're going to see a lot of Colts. I think
you're going to see a lot of Cardinals this week.
I think those are legit plays. But if you really
want to make hay in a streaming defense and excuse me,
in a survivor pool like Ian did with steaming streaming defenses,

(40:28):
take the Saints. This may be their only chance, like
it truly might be their only chance to win a game.

Speaker 1 (40:35):
Your models will take it.

Speaker 4 (40:36):
When Jackson dart is making a second straight start of
his career, go with the Saints if you want to
live dangerously. Another point of this, guys, is there have
not been huge upsets so far in the first four
or five weeks, so you're getting by with your your
teams that you're picking, So.

Speaker 1 (40:53):
There's probably a lot of people still remaining.

Speaker 4 (40:55):
At some point, you're going to have to go out
on a limb, And why not go out on a
limb with a winless team but at home that has
played competitive football. Now, with the guy making his second
career start and first ever start on the road in
the National Football League, I think the Saints are your
survivor pick for Week five.

Speaker 5 (41:13):
I dig that I don't know they're gonna win a
home favorite, but yeah.

Speaker 4 (41:17):
Yes, the Giants were a one and a half point
favorite when the line opened. It's now moved to New Orleans,
So there's something at least on your side there. But
if you're gonna win a Survivor pool, sometimes you got
to put it out on the table, right You gotta,
you gotta, you gotta have some guts in So.

Speaker 3 (41:35):
What Matt Damon told me in those ads, I'll tell.

Speaker 4 (41:39):
You, like, the Chargers could be a decent pick with
the Commanders hurting as much, but I'm not picking against
Jaden Daniels at least at this point. There are other
Charger games. We don't know how they're going to respond
without Joe alt Now out with that high ankle. Sprain
Bills are a heavy favorite, but that's a divisional game.

(42:00):
I know people think that New England could go in
there and maybe win that game outright, Lions, just you're
gonna have other opportunities to save the Lions. They're ten
point favorite. You'll probably see some of that in Survivor,
but I think the popular ones will be the Cardinals
and the Colts. But if you really want to play,
have fun with the Saints. I also think the Panthers

(42:20):
could be a play. They're actually underdogs at home to
the Dolphins, but if they do what they did two
weeks Ago.

Speaker 1 (42:25):
I think they'll be in a good.

Speaker 4 (42:26):
Spot and the Dolphins coming off of a short week
without Tyreek Hill now could be a spot for Carolina.

Speaker 1 (42:31):
But my one play is the Saints. I like that
a lot points of Palooza Ian. Yeah, you're Jets and Cowboys.

Speaker 4 (42:37):
So when Mike was running out all of these players
from that game, I'm going with the Cowboys and Jets
and mark it down two straight weeks.

Speaker 1 (42:44):
Jets are in my points at Palooza.

Speaker 6 (42:45):
Two awful defenses.

Speaker 4 (42:48):
I can't take Lions Bengals because of the high point total.
Same thing with the Patriots and Bills, so they are
off the mark. So I'm going to go with what's
happening at MetLife between Dallas and New York.

Speaker 5 (42:57):
You see the over under for our Minnesota Cleveland game.

Speaker 1 (43:03):
I just happen to be looking at it right now.

Speaker 6 (43:05):
Isn't it like a record low or something like that?

Speaker 1 (43:07):
Lot of curves?

Speaker 3 (43:07):
Yeah, thirty six.

Speaker 6 (43:09):
Ooh, yeah.

Speaker 1 (43:12):
You'd think Iowa would be playing in this game, but
they are not.

Speaker 3 (43:15):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (43:16):
There's a couple of others that are just on the
the plus side of forty right, Houston, Baltimore, Tennessee, Arizona,
the Giants and Saints, all of those between forty and
forty two.

Speaker 4 (43:29):
Okay, so the Titans are sitting there at on to four,
the Jets are on four, the Saints are on four.

Speaker 1 (43:37):
Any of those teams pick up win number one.

Speaker 3 (43:42):
With your Saints.

Speaker 1 (43:43):
Yeah, I think Tinnity Rat, you're gonna get.

Speaker 5 (43:47):
Completing sixty seven percent of his passes, five touchdowns against
a pick.

Speaker 3 (43:51):
You can avoid the turnovers, all.

Speaker 5 (43:53):
Right, bave down the field against this Giant secondary. I mean,
as long as you can avoid the pass rush, right,
I mean, that's really what it comes down to.

Speaker 6 (44:04):
And we mentioned it already. Neighbors is out and that's
that's the Giant's best player.

Speaker 3 (44:08):
That's a lot here. It's a lot of attention, and just.

Speaker 4 (44:11):
To look way down the road with Survivor when I'm
telling you you may want to pick a team, you know,
you may want to make some Hey, in week seventeen,
the Titans are at the Saints, So you're going to
see a lot of people probably having some of those
teams left. But yeah, that's a coin flip. But I'd
rather just take a different matchup that week at that point,

(44:32):
and hey, you get a coin flip right now, why
not roll with it. So we're going with the Saints
this week. All right, that's it for week five, and
I want your flex week six.

Speaker 1 (44:41):
We'll be here.

Speaker 4 (44:42):
Before you know it, we'll be back giving you the
aftermath of what's happening in week five. Mike's off to Disneyland.
Yeah and uh, and then he'll be back with some

Cardiac Cowboys

Cardiac Cowboys

The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
