Speaker 1 (00:00):
Ladies, you want experience during your football season, well, buckle up,
sweet cheeks. We've got all the experience in the world.
Speaker 2 (00:12):
This is I want your Flex.
Speaker 1 (00:15):
With Dan Bayer and Mike Harmon. Mike and Dan break
down everything you need to set your lineups, from position
rankings to starts and sits. The guys help you make
those hard decisions. And now let's catch your flex sod.
Here's Dan Bayer and Mike Harmon.
Speaker 3 (00:33):
One down, a bunch more to go. It is I
want your flex, guys. Honestly, I'm taking a victory lap.
I've already got a survivor pick locked in with a win.
It wasn't pretty, but we'll take it. Get my gets
rolled on. You can find me at Dan Bayer on Fox.
Ian Roddy's the executive producer. You can hit him up
at Ian Roddy Underscore. And I told you to take
(00:54):
the broncos I just didn't think it would be a
ten to seven. I don't even know if it was
a slugfest penalty feats. However it was, but that's how
we start Week ten in the NFL.
Speaker 2 (01:04):
You know, I always joke about we got to rank
all two seventy two I celebrate them all. This one
might be celebrated least, but it got you your survivor win.
I was most interested. I'm like, I want to live.
Look at Dan Byer in the final quarter of this game,
because it was that miserable. Smith and I were on
air for it and we just kept looking at each other, going,
(01:24):
what do we even have to talk about out of
this game? Right? You got the early touchdown from genty,
you get the touchdown from Franklin. Fine, so they at
least give you something fantasy wise. Otherwise it's a bunch
of nothing. Brock Bauers has his one catch for thirty
one yards. You've got people texting me going, can you
argue with our service because it was that block punt?
(01:47):
Actually a block punt, it's not because it went past
the line of scrimmage. I'm sorry, you should not get
the fantasy points. Keep arguing, write a letter to your congressman.
I don't know. But the other with heavy wins on
the way down to the punter's feet, I mean, there's
just craziness. And Gino Smith I felt for him like
(02:08):
I did for Carson Wentz a couple of weeks ago,
of like, do you really hate Kenny Pickett that much.
Speaker 3 (02:14):
Right I for a as the game was so bad,
I'm like, maybe Kenny Pickett's gonna provide a spark, and
then I'm like, wait a second, that's that's idiotic to
think that did not happen last night.
Speaker 2 (02:26):
But even if he could have, we never we never
got to see whether he could happen. He got to
throw one pass and then Gino dragged his dead leg.
Speaker 3 (02:36):
I'll say this, I know, like I've been beating myself
up over this trade that I made in my long
term league in Denver's a great defense, but like Genty
last night ends up getting into the end zone three
point two yards to carry. Yeah, you know, like that's
three catches three yards. So ultimately I'm sitting there watching that.
(03:00):
I'm like, okay, I just was not buying him yet.
If you were to play Ashton Genty last night, you're like, well,
he got me a touchdown. That's kind of how I
feel like when I play twenty Pollard. So that's where
that's where I am right now on anybody Raider wise
and poor brock Bauers owners, my goodness, geez, after what
he did Sunday against Jacksonville to have one catch for
(03:23):
thirty one yards.
Speaker 4 (03:24):
What a disappointment.
Speaker 2 (03:25):
Yeah, you talk about I saw some notes coming out
of the prop bet markets how much money was on
him to just be fed three targets one catch. Tyler
Lockett look good though it is five for forty four.
Welcome back to his life with Gino Smith. But you
know the other side of things, you know, JK. Dobbins
a pedestrian seventy seven r J hardy four carries nine
(03:48):
yards and for bo Nick's owners, looks like a pretty
good spot. You think you're gonna at least get some
saber rushing yards. Oh no, no, no, five carries minus
two and a disaster. So yeah, just a miserable slog
for sure.
Speaker 3 (04:02):
Well, hopefully the rest of the slate is better. Cowboys, Chiefs, Bengals,
Titans on by in Week ten, Jets, Browns Ian Do
I see a sparkle in your eye after the trade
deadline this week?
Speaker 5 (04:15):
I mean, is this yeah you don't.
Speaker 2 (04:18):
Do you want to win this game?
Speaker 4 (04:20):
It's a yes, do you want to win?
Speaker 5 (04:22):
I'm definitely rooting for wins the rest of the year.
I'm not in full tank, but they have so many
draft picks at this point they can. Yeah, I'm not.
I'm not getting picky about where they are.
Speaker 3 (04:31):
Oh man, it may not be our headliner, but it's
always on our raidar.
Speaker 4 (04:34):
All right, radar that is.
Speaker 3 (04:36):
Let's get to our I got Raiders on my mind, well.
Speaker 2 (04:39):
After watching like you got traumatized, Yes, post traumatic stress
disorder from watching the Raiders. Although that we we did
point out as you would too, Dan, the Broncos uniforms
look fantastic.
Speaker 3 (04:51):
Yes, they magnificent. And the Raiders even wore a throwback jersey.
Their normal jerseys have the black numbers. These had the
silver with the black outline. A real good look on
Thursday night football. All right, let's get to the top
five rankings. Mike, your top five quarterbacks for week ten?
Speaker 2 (05:08):
All right, better days, better days, all right. Josh Allen
going against Miami eighth, most generous against opposing quarterbacks nearly
twenty fantasy points per game. Allen is fourth overall. He's
got six games with at least twenty points on the year.
Waiting to see what this offense does. Maybe Dalton Kincaid
becomes that number one we keep waiting for. Jalen Hurt's
(05:28):
going up against green Bay tied for eighth few is
given up sixteen fantasy points per game, but when you
look at Herts, he's eighth coming in out of the
bye week, nineteen point four or more points in all
but one game this year. Talk about consistency for your
fantasy purposes. Justin Herbert going against Pittsburgh. Yeah, I'm concerned
about the offensive line, but this becomes the coin toss,
(05:51):
which Pittsburgh pass rush actually shows up on Sunday Night football,
I don't know. Tied for fourth most generous twenty one
points four points per game, Herbert's sitting at only one
point eight average thus far this year. He's got twenty
six or more points in three straight games. Lamar Jackson
going up against Minnesota, They're tied for thirteenth few. It's
just seventeen fantasy points per game, but in the four
(06:14):
games that Lamar has completed, at least twenty five point
six fantasy points per contest. And then we can do
coin flip because they're both sides of that same game.
It's the Chicago and Giants game. You decide whether you
want your Caleb Williams love or a little bit of
Jackson Dart. He's got seventeen points six or more in
every one of his start three with at least twenty
(06:36):
three points six and the Bears six most fantasy points
given up to quarterbacks, Caleb seventh fantasy points most fantasy
points given up to quarterbacks at twenty one per he's looked.
He had a thirty six point seven game with the
season high eighteen or more in five games this year.
So decide which part of that coin you want to
(06:57):
go ride the hot hand, and then we roll forward
some opportunities. It'll be a better days than what we
saw on that Thursday night slot.
Speaker 3 (07:05):
I don't know about you guys, but I assume Jackson
would be the starter. I didn't think it would be
that soon into the season, but I've actually been even
more surprised that he's been this good of a fantasy
option for I mean, not only do you not have
Malik neighbors, you also no I've lost Scataboo obviously, but
just for the simple fact, I just didn't think that
(07:27):
he would be this good, even if he had all
those weapons. But he's he's been really good so far
for fantasy owners who were maybe needing a quarterback because
of the issues earlier in the season.
Speaker 2 (07:37):
Giving you a good production week after week. Now, obviously
you'd like to see a push up in yardage. Only
one game of his starts where he's passed from more
than two hundred and two yards, but getting it done
with his legs. He's scored in five of the six
games that he started.
Speaker 4 (07:55):
Absolutely all right, let's get to the running back.
Speaker 3 (07:57):
Speaking of using your legs, my career top five backs
for week ten.
Speaker 2 (08:01):
You can't stop him. You can only hope to contend
if Christian McCaffrey gets to the top. Yeah. Yeah, the
Rams are the best against opposing rushers, but averaging four
plus receptions per game allowed to opposing runners. And that's
where we're gonna make some Hey here, With McCaffrey third
most targets in the National Football League thus far, you're
looking at eighteen point seven points or better in all
(08:24):
but one game this year. Season high. Season low is
last two games. Which side of the coin do you
get there? Jamiir Gibbs middling defense. Are the Washington Commanders
against running backs about twenty points per game? Season low
four point three points for Gibbs in Week nine. He
does have three games with ten or fewers, so there
is a much lower floor than you would have thought.
(08:47):
Only two explosive games. Will look for a third this week.
Jonathan Taylor going up against Atlanta eleventh most against fantasy
running back season low in week nine. Notice a trend there.
How about five games with more than twenty eight and
a half points we'll look for to get on the
plus side here. Bijon Robinson seventh. Best are the Indianapolis Colts,
(09:10):
but the only way they're playing and winning this game
is getting the ball in his hands, So he's still
fourth amongst total scorers. He's averaging eighteen and a half
a game. Three with greater than twenty one. Let's make
it a fourth and then Devon chen eighth. Most generous
are the Buffalo Bills against running backs. Third highest total points,
(09:32):
double digits each week. I'm trying to really sell because
he's active in the passing game. Again, only a couple
of explosive games, but the consistency has been there. We're
not riding the seesaw like we are with so many
of our other options.
Speaker 3 (09:45):
You know, when we looked at the international schedule in
the offseason, I thought cheeze Colts Falcons like this is
what we're going to give to Germany. And we've talked
about how Atlanta's kind of been a mixed bag throughout
this season to maybe say that the least.
Speaker 4 (10:01):
But now I'm like.
Speaker 3 (10:02):
Hmm, this is this is interesting obviously with a cold
seven and two, but Atlanta's got something to play for
and now you have, uh the two of the best
running backs in the game going head to head. There
Guts in Berlin coming up on Sundays should be very good.
Speaker 2 (10:16):
Oh, nicely done, and we're going to start. I don't
know a lot of German, but I'll try. I've got
my bad lifetime babble, So let's go.
Speaker 3 (10:24):
I four years in high school, a semester in college. Yes,
but that's that was a long long time ago.
Speaker 5 (10:30):
I haven't heard of too many people taking German in
high school.
Speaker 3 (10:33):
Well, when you're from where I'm from, the options were
Spanish and German, and I took German, and now I'm like, boy,
Spanish really could have helped me in today's world.
Speaker 4 (10:42):
German doesn't nothing.
Speaker 5 (10:43):
I took Spanish in high school and I barely that's
just it.
Speaker 2 (10:47):
You don't use it. It passes like I can understand it
reasonably well, so every once in a while there it
was just some awkward moments. You'll be on a bus
and you'll hear people making jokes and you'll laugh, and
they'll look at you like a crappy understood what we
were saying, and then they try to talk to you.
Speaker 5 (11:03):
Yeah, exactly, I'll lead to them asking you a full
on question.
Speaker 2 (11:06):
Damn it, all right, only got every fourth word I was.
Speaker 3 (11:10):
I've talked to other people to Ian's point about German
not being a popular language. French was one that I know,
like other people like it would be in different high schools,
but in Wisconsin, German was a was an option option Latin.
Speaker 5 (11:23):
I've actually heard of more than German. Interestingly, Yeah, we.
Speaker 4 (11:27):
Had Latin for all the would be doctors, all right,
not too shacky.
Speaker 2 (11:30):
I don't think any of them went down that road,
but they all claim they were going.
Speaker 3 (11:35):
I don't know any Latin. So we'll just talk wide receivers.
How about that.
Speaker 4 (11:38):
Let's get it was good top five for week ten.
Speaker 2 (11:40):
All right, JSN going up against Arizona, they're middling against
opposing passing games with him, you're looking at eighteen and
a half fantasy points per game. Three of his last
four twenty two or better, and maybe some extra help
off the top. As we discussed in podcasts earlier this week.
Maybe we'll talk about it again as we go on.
Rossaint Brown fourth, He's averaging seventeen per game, fourteen or
(12:04):
better at all but two games. Again, we're looking for
some consistency and some stability in our lives here for
fantasy purposes. Puka Takua going up against San Francisco, eleventh
most to wide receivers, right they're down a couple of
their big defenders. He's second, averaging nearly nineteen points per game,
and in every game he's finished, he's scored at least
(12:25):
seventeen points. Talk about the Ronco Said It and Forget
It award, because well I'm old, so I talk about
Ronco products. Justin Jefferson against Baltimore, still six most, but
trending up. Whard defense is getting better. I just look
for a force feed situation. JJ McCarthy. I don't know
how much I believe any of the videos that go
(12:47):
out there from the locker room. It seems like he
wants to go star in a football Glenn Powell at
this point, so I'm not quite sure what's going on there,
but face paint.
Speaker 3 (13:00):
I think we should all normally lost that in our lives,
that it's the worst. Jackson Dart with his thing over this, Yeah,
all right.
Speaker 2 (13:09):
Didn't they cancel Vikings? I don't know. And then finally
I debated Rome of Doonsday just because you know, that's
super cut. I talked about earlier in the week getting
more and more traction as people really gravitated to what
his dad had to say, and Rome finally just said, no,
my dad's an idiot. He speaks for himself. I'm good,
So pardon me. Wants to do that because the Giants
(13:30):
have been so generous to wide receivers coming off a
zero exposure, but we only have one explosive otherwise, his
ceiling has been fourteen point nine. So we're gonna go
a different route. We're gonna take Lad McConkie going against
the Pittsburgh Steelers. His seven point six points in Week
nine ended a four game double digit streak. You're looking
at sixteen catches per week allowed to wide receivers by Pittsburgh,
(13:54):
and McConkie has been money over the last month plus,
So we get him in a big spot here on
Sunday night.
Speaker 3 (14:01):
Foot should be a fun one at Sofi Stadium between
those two AFC. I don't want to say Titans contenders.
That's a better word.
Speaker 2 (14:10):
I debated going. I looked at tickets get in was
like two twenty.
Speaker 3 (14:13):
Yeah, tough one with the Steelers fan base, for sure,
it's but it should.
Speaker 4 (14:18):
Be fun on Sunday night. All right.
Speaker 3 (14:19):
There they are your top five wide receivers four Week
ten in the NFL.
Speaker 4 (14:23):
More information to come.
Speaker 3 (14:24):
Mike Scott his hot plays, cold sores and ninjas Ian
sitting there. How many streaming defenses do we have this week?
Give me, give me a number.
Speaker 5 (14:31):
For this week? Make we having two?
Speaker 4 (14:34):
Fair enough?
Speaker 2 (14:35):
Look at that?
Speaker 4 (14:35):
Fair enough?
Speaker 3 (14:36):
We got a points of to lose. And I'll give
you another survivor pick as well. That's all next here
and I want your flex all right, let's dive run
into it. Mike, your hot plays for Week ten. Guys
that didn't make the top five, but you got to
get in your lineup this week.
Speaker 2 (14:52):
We start with Matthew Stafford going against San Francisco. About
eighteen points a game allowed to quarterbacks by San Francisco.
He's ninth amongst quarterbacks. He's got twenty five or more
points in four of his last five starts. Everybody's healthy,
everybody plays, everybody win. Sam Donald going up against Arizona.
A little counter into it is they're tied for the
(15:12):
eighth fewest fantasy points allowed. But you're looking at Sam
with three twenty plus games and his last four starts,
looking to make some more hay in a big spot. Sunday.
Jared Goff going up against Washington. He's not been spectacular,
nice and steady as they go. An opportunity here going
up against the Washington d that's tied for fourth most
(15:35):
allowed to fantasy quarterbacks, and I think the defense gives
them some field position to play with this week to
get after it. Manunga, Yeah, DeAndre Swift's there, I get that.
But you got a guy that two of his last
three games has been absolutely fantastic going up against a
Giants front that might have been I don't know, maybe
(15:55):
more reputation than performance in some of these efforts. And
the Bear offense starting to move a little bit better
once you get Loveland reigning Player of the Week and others, well, yeah,
pretty crazy, right, play the pinball all the way to
the end zone. Ricodowdell, because well he's Rico Dowdell. New
Orleans given up the twelfth most Fantasy points to the
(16:16):
running backs twenty seven or more three of his last
five starts, so let's go with the hot hand and
ride it there. A little counterintuitive with Derek Henry eleventh
fewest allowed to running backs the Minnesota defense nineteen point
one twelve point six since the bye, but I'm expecting
big things down the stretch here as we get rolling
with this Baltimore offense, they are a four and a
(16:39):
half point favorite and the over under his forty nine
and a half. Everybody plays, everybody wins. A couple of
wide receivers real quick. Khalil Shakir going to against Miami.
Are you getting big explosives? No, Miami, by some metrics,
you're looking at a top ranked defense against opposing wideouts.
That's fine, but I'm looking at a guy that is
(17:00):
the security blanket there for Josh Allen, so looking for
another double digit game out of him on averaging about
ten per game. Jalen Wattall. On the other side of that,
you're looking at a season season high with twenty back
in Week five, eighteen point four and week four, so
we do have some opportunities for him to get after it,
(17:22):
and I think they're trying to prove a point after
some of the public scuttle but from a couple of
weeks ago, then Nico Collins. Am I trusting the Davis
Mills experience. I don't know, but I think I'm gonna
see a lot of Nicocollins just having the ball thrown
in his general direction. Take him, take Dalton Schultz, and
we're looking for a hefty target count going against Jacksonville,
(17:45):
which is one of the more generous defensive secondaries.
Speaker 3 (17:49):
Again we mentioned it's a four team by this week,
but they're notable wide receivers that are out Ceedee Lamb Rashi, Rice,
George Pickens and obviously in Cincinnati with T Higgins and
of course Jamar Chase. Don't worry about the Titans receiving corps.
But you know those plays, especially a guy like Shakira,
can help you for a week if.
Speaker 2 (18:06):
You need yeah, and then you look on the other
side of that game, just for the Houston Jacksonville mean,
Brian Thomas has been declared out, so you know you're
trying to find needles in a Haystack as it were
for some of these matchups.
Speaker 3 (18:20):
Absolutely, all right, let's get to the cold soars, the
guys you don't want in your lineup, that you don't
want to see coming up in Week.
Speaker 2 (18:25):
Ten, Jordan Love going up against Philadelphia. We've talked about
him a lot. I have an incomplete I can't say
he's been bad. I certainly can't laud the greatness because
he's had a couple of big games, but overall just
three games with more than sixteen Fantasy points this year,
so I can't get there. It's good enough for eleventh
(18:46):
overall at about eighteen a game for him, but going
up against the middling Philadelphia defense that you know on
the NFC side, a team expecting a bit of a
surge coming out of their bye week. We'll go back
to that game in Germany. I can't trust Pennix as
much as we talk in about some of the potential
issues in the indie secondary. Looks like Sauce Gardner will
(19:08):
make his debut barring some setback here. Got cleared out
of the concussion protocol, so looking to see what they do.
His twenty two point seven a Week nine was his
best since Week one. A lot of middling up appearances
and a little injury mixed therein you got Baker Mayfield
going up against New England one of the premiere games
of the week. Forty eight and a half is the total,
(19:31):
So expecting some fireworks coming out of the bye week,
but this is one where I'm a little bit of
a hand ringing kind of situation. He's tied for twelve
amongst fantasy quarterbacks nineteen and a half five times nineteen
and a half or better, I should say five times
this year. Note regardless of who's catching the ball, but
the New England defense is for real. The one thing
(19:51):
that would put this over is he is at home,
So back end number one for me, but I do
so with a bit of trepidation. I with Saquon Barkley
going up against green Bay, you're playing him, and I
wonder if this isn't the start of let's feed Saquon
and get that run game going. Fix some of the
stuff with the offensive line in the bye week. But
(20:13):
green Bay the fifth best against opposing runners, So the
rubber meets the road here in a big matchup on Sunday,
Kenneth Walker going up against Arizona nine point eight fantasy
points per game. His last double digit effort came in
Week four.
Speaker 4 (20:28):
Yeah, it's it's tough.
Speaker 3 (20:31):
The running game isn't going, and there's been a lot
of discourse now over the last week or so on
how it's never going to get going because that's not
the Seahawks goal in terms of how they're going to
win football games. It's really crazy and messing with my mind,
not only as the Seahawks fan, but someone who just
feels running the ball as the recipe to win football games.
And you know, hearing Greg Olsen and others chop it
(20:54):
up and saying, yeah, Seattle's all right with not being
able to run the ball.
Speaker 4 (20:58):
That's also bad news for Kenneth Walker owners.
Speaker 5 (21:01):
It's so frustrating seeing Kenneth Walker just rip off a
fifteen yard gain and then the coaching staff just be like, quick,
put sharbone in, you know names, Yes, it's crazy.
Speaker 2 (21:13):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (21:13):
Then you see like a Jumbo for Major they got
their three tight ends and then Donald drops back and
rips one to a j barner and you're like, what,
you know, I thought this was my opportunity.
Speaker 4 (21:23):
It wasn't not.
Speaker 2 (21:24):
This is not football, as you and I grew up. No,
it's very frustrating at times, like the running game seems
to be working. I get it. Don't don't your offensive
lineman get juiced by bulldozing people. I don't understand this.
It opens everything else up.
Speaker 3 (21:42):
It's crazy because I know you guys probably looked at
me funny a couple of weeks ago, but I felt
that Kenneth Walker was unstartable because he wasn't getting goaline carries,
and it's just there are like, he's not hurt, he's
not anything. I thought maybe they were saving him for
the rest of the year or for later on in
the season, but that isn't the case. I don't think
there's anything wrong with him. I just think that they're
(22:03):
not able to maybe run block as well, and they'd
rather pass, and that's how they're going to move the chains.
Speaker 2 (22:09):
Deposition of Sam Darnold, Yes, well they paid him a
lot of money, So here you go, Sam, go earn it. Yeah, exactly,
all right. Travis etn going up against Houston game that
the over under seems to be pushing lower by the moment.
Thirty seven and a half as we sit here, he's
losing touches. The Houston defense twelfth fewest allowed to running backs.
(22:32):
His fourteen against Las Vegas was his highest total since
Week four. Aw yeah, so tough times there. Rashad White
going up against New England. Fourth fewest allowed to running backs.
He's only got three games with more than six and
a half points, and he's been utilized quite a bit,
So I little reticent to get on board there because
(22:53):
he's not active in the passing game, which is where
he had made some bones in the past. Couple of
quick wide receivers d Metcalf Chargers fourth fewest allowed to
wide receivers one point six points in Week nine, only
two games with more than fifteen points. We talked about
that a little bit earlier in the week, the disappointment
that that has been because even though they get that
(23:14):
win over Indianapolis, go dig deep into the box score,
that offense is not helmet at all. Jordan Addison against
Baltimore six most generous d But you know you're looking
at his Week one or Week nine was his first
since returning from his suspension without a double digit performance.
But I'm fearful he gets lost in the sauce with
(23:36):
a number of guys they've got to get after and
then a little counter. You're gonna get some target opportunities.
But Chris Olave going up against Carolina, you know, half
pprs averaging eleven point one Fantasy points per game. He
has one game with more than twelve point eight points.
Speaker 3 (23:51):
We'll see how the absence of Rashid Chiheed affects him
in New Orleans and that NFC South showdown with the Panthers.
All right, Mike, Let's get to your Ninjas four week ten,
All right.
Speaker 2 (24:01):
Jalen Warren, because we get five games with double digit
points two of his last three seventeen point eight to
fifteen point nine. Feed him the ball as a receiver
out of the backfield. I mentioned Davis Mills earlier. What
the hell strange bedfelt is between buys and injuries? Jacksonville
third most fantasy points allowed to quarterbacks. Again, you got
(24:24):
Christian Kirk had eight targets last week. You got Dalton
Schultz in the mix. He had eight targets for seventy
seven yards. Nico Collins, why not for a dollar in
your daily fantasy league? Would you love to say you
won some money on Davis Mills? Yeah? You would. Situation
as we record this hasn't been finalized. Looking at San
(24:44):
Francisco and the Rams, mac Jones has played well. Rams
fifth FEUs against quarterbacks about nineteen or more points and
three of his seven games for mac Jones. If it
flips to Purdy, then yeah, that we roll him out
out and wish and hope that he's fully ready to go.
But you know, just a situation that Warrant's watching, you
(25:07):
want to get desperate. Maybe he can give you some
love with his feet of aiding Aiden Hutchinson. But Marcus
Mariota against the Detroit team that is the tenth most
generous to quarterback why usually scoring up some points. So
you just keep throwing the ball down the field. So
we'll see Judkins going up against Ian's Jets.
Speaker 4 (25:28):
Whoa just kidding.
Speaker 2 (25:31):
The well, wishing and hoping, Right, what are we talking about?
You know you're looking at ninth most fantasy points allowed
to opposing runners season high twenty six points in Week seven.
And then it's the Cleveland Browns week to week. Offensively,
I don't know what to expect. Another game that's really
pushing our season lows thirty seven and a half. Cleveland
(25:54):
a two and a half point favorite on the road.
You got Devin Singletary against Chicago ten touches for fifty
one yards in Week nine. Snap count was higher than
Tracey's and the Bears given about twenty one fantasy points
to running backs per game. Zach Charbone, we benched his teammate,
but we get him in why because we're looking at
(26:14):
the potential for those goal line plunges. Season high of
eighteen and a half, three double digit games his last
five Arizona middling against the run. A guy this stash
if you haven't already off waivers. James Cook looks like
he's gonna go back and practice it all. But when
he misses the day in the middle of the week,
immediately Ray Davis pops back up on your radar in Miami.
(26:35):
We know how poorly that run defense has performed over
the course of the year. Division game, maybe you get
a little bit of weirdness to it. But if it
plays as we would expect, even though it's supposed to
be like ninety five degrees, that he Davis gets some
work in the second half, So we'll keep an eye there.
Go back to that Giants Bears game. Quick Wondale Robinson
(26:56):
seven or more targets four of his last five games.
Just looking for oppertunity here against the Bear secondary Marvin
Harrison Junior, because we don't normally get to talk about
how great he potentially is against Seattle eighth few ist allowed,
but they're going to try to force feed, so I'm
gonna push in that we see a little more of
a workload for him. And then Josh Down's going back
(27:17):
to that game in Germany. Touchdown and three straight six
receptions three of his last four games.
Speaker 3 (27:23):
I think there could be some points in that game. Well,
I've been disappointed with Michael Pennix Junior this season. I
had high expectations in the preseason. Found out on Friday
to Forrest Buckner's not only not going to play, we
knew he wasn't going to make the trip to Germany,
but he's been placed on injured reserve, So that softens
up that Colts defense, even with the addition of Sauce Gardner.
(27:43):
So I think Colts Falcons, as I mentioned earlier, I
think could be fun just because a little more points
than maybe we previously expected.
Speaker 4 (27:51):
We shall see. You're welcome, Germans, You're welcome. All right.
Speaker 3 (27:54):
There they are your hot plays Cold Soares and Ninja's.
By the way, I'm three quarters German as well. Ian,
so that's yeah, that's well.
Speaker 5 (28:02):
There you go.
Speaker 4 (28:02):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (28:02):
I'm sure there's probably a more definitive twenty three and
Me or Ancestry dot Com breakdown, but it's just easier
to say three quarters. All right, we are about three
quarters of the way done with this podcast. Ian's kind
of streaming defenses. I got a points of Palooza and
a survivor pick, another survivor pick after I gave you
that glorious winner on Thursday night with the Broncos beating
(28:24):
the Raiders. It's all coming up next here, and I
want your flex. Mike Carmon can sit back and relax
and start to critique our selections. Ian Roddy is here,
our executive producer. I'm Dan Byer. Ian take it away
with your streaming defenses for week ten.
Speaker 5 (28:40):
All right, So, like I said, I've got four this
week because I only brought you guys to last week.
But I will tell you which are my favorites and stuff,
just not to dilute the product here, but we'll start
with the Carolina Panthers. They're the first of them. They're
thirty one percent rostered in ESPN leagues, playing against the Saints,
who are led by Tyler Shuck and his second career
(29:00):
NFL start last week. In his first start, he only
managed ten points on offense and he threw a pick.
The Rams managed to get nine fantasy points against them
as well, and the Panthers defense has been up and
down for fantasy, but they've had some big performances in
favorable spots, like when they played the Falcons and Jets
this year. So I don't know, I feel like this
could be one of those spots, just considering the matchup
(29:23):
and who they're playing against. Next up, the Baltimore Ravens
forty nine percent rostered. They're playing against the Vikings and
JJ McCarthy, who admittedly exceeded expectations last week when McCarthy
beat the Lions in his return, but I will say
the Lions defense still managed to get nine fantasy points
in that game, which was top twelve on the week,
(29:45):
and that was thanks to an interception and sacking McCarthy
five times. So now in his three games this season,
McCarthy's averaging four point seven sacks a game, so he's
taken a lot of sacks. Ravens defense obviously really bad
to start the year, but they've quietly been picking it
up in recent weeks. They shut down the Dolphins last week,
which obviously that's not saying much, but in the two
weeks before that, they also held the Bears and Rams
(30:07):
to less than twenty points each as well. Row seats
yes he did, yes he did.
Speaker 4 (30:12):
So.
Speaker 5 (30:12):
Pair that stinginess with what could be their highest sack
total of the year, playing against McCarthy who's taking so many,
this could be a pretty nice fantasy week. So that's
actually my favorite of the four that I'm giving you
the Ravens. Next up the Jacksonville Jaguars. They're forty two
percent roster playing against the Texans, who are starting Davis
Mills at quarterback. Like you were mentioning earlier, Mike CJ.
(30:34):
Stroud's still out with that concussion. For a backup, Mills
actually doesn't take too many sacks or turn the ball
over a ton, but still he is a backup for
a reason, and the Texas Texans offensive line is pretty terrible.
Jaguars defensive line is underrated as well, so that's a
pretty good formula there for streaming defenses. And then the
last one a bonus if you will, my Jets. They're
(30:57):
only eleven percent rostered in the row that they did.
They did just trade away their two best players on defense.
But I'm still relatively comfortable starting them here against the
Cleveland Browns, that being because Dylan Gabriel is the quarterback
and they've looked pretty bad with him under center. They
haven't haven't scored more than seventeen points in a single game.
The only one that they did was against the Dolphins,
(31:19):
so this should be a pretty low scoring game between
two bad teams lots of defense. So yeah, there you
go four this week, but the Ravens are my favorite
if I had to pick one.
Speaker 2 (31:28):
Yeah, it's a strange schedule, right, We got two extremes
because you got a bunch of games in that forty
eight forty nine over under window and then a bunch
creeping around forty so, and we got the opener between
Las Vegas and Denver was forty three, and at no
(31:49):
point did we threaten that except for how fast I
could that's like a four to three time did the
TV to change channel from it? But no, it's fun.
Baltar was an interesting one and just a little note
for a game that's not on the board that way,
forty six and a half the total Giants in Chicago
just got a note from my brother's thirty five mile
(32:11):
an hour winds expected.
Speaker 4 (32:12):
It ooh wind day, the Windy City living up to
its name.
Speaker 2 (32:19):
Yeah, did we go?
Speaker 4 (32:20):
Did we approach forty three yards in Broncos raiders? Just
kidding for a while?
Speaker 2 (32:25):
We didn't for a while? I mean right, the Broncos
went through most of the first half with about forty yards.
Speaker 4 (32:31):
Oh man, it was that. That's the true definition of survivor.
Speaker 3 (32:36):
And if you missed our potter earlier in the week,
I gave you an early one because I wanted in
on the Broncos.
Speaker 4 (32:41):
But that was I don't want to say it.
Speaker 3 (32:42):
Was an obvious pick, but according to the spreads that
we had, it was one of the bigger spreads, as
Mike mentioned, But it just didn't turn out that way.
But still, if you're in the clubhouse with the win
on the Broncos, good for you. I am in my
remaining in my remaining survivor pool. Now there may have
been a situation where you've picked Denver recently, maybe and
that comeback against the Giants, so they weren't available, so
(33:02):
you need to pick this week. The Panthers, I think
are going to be the most popular pick because right
now they're middle of the road. It allows any survivor
entries that have really picked the best teams in the
NFL to maybe venture out of that. Saints going from
coast to coast, not only with Tyler Shuk, but last
week they're in LA. Now they got to go to Charlotte.
(33:24):
Not that it's a long trip from New Orleans to Charlotte,
but it's a lot of travel that you've gott in
the past week. So I expect the Saints to be
a bit worn down and maybe the Panthers can carry
that momentum over.
Speaker 4 (33:36):
They're at home. They've played better at home.
Speaker 3 (33:37):
So give me the Panthers and the survivor pick points
of Palooza has Mike laid out a a lot of
forty nine and a half's out there, So I took
one that I saw was just shy of it. I'm
going to go Buccaneers Patriots, And the only reason I'm
going to say this is I just think they're two
good football teams and you're going to see some points
like we saw with Seattle and Tampa Bay earlier this year,
when we thought Tampa Bay was depleted, ends up being
(33:59):
a three eight thirty five win for Tampa. Give me
the Bucks and Patriots in a fun one coming up
on Sunday.
Speaker 4 (34:06):
From my points of palooza.
Speaker 2 (34:07):
I love that game.
Speaker 4 (34:09):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (34:09):
I was actually talking to my family. They're down My
mom and dad are down in near Tampa a little
earlier on Friday, and you know, they've fully invested in
the Lightning. But my dad really likes Baker Mayfield, so
he's all excited that are these guys ever gonna get healthy?
Of Like, I don't know, something in the water there.
So you guys figured that out. You're keeping all sorts
(34:30):
of other people alive down there with the age, you know,
and the older folks that find their way to retirement
to Florida, you know, figure out to put something in
the water to help their team regenerate, because man, it's
still the walking wounded. I think on Sunday morning, we'll
be surprised to see who shows up for New England.
I'd like to see. You know, it's a great test
(34:51):
for them, right because we're talking about their record against
what has been the easiest schedule in the game. And
for Drake may starting to get a lot of that love.
I want to see him validate some of it in
a big spot here on the road.
Speaker 3 (35:03):
It should be. It should be a fun one. Buccaneers Patriots,
who knows, maybe a Super Bowl preview. Crazier things have happened. Yes,
And I'll say this, if I had considered the Jets
because they're home, you know, I like to pick home
teams and survivor. But I went back to my what's
the best unit on the field, and it's the Cleveland defense. Yeah,
(35:28):
I guess I would go Cleveland if you were to really,
if you really wanted to put them out there. I
feel like the Cleveland chips were cashed in when they
played the Dolphins a couple of weeks ago, like that
was the week to use them. So but if you
want to live dangerously, Cleveland could be another survivor.
Speaker 2 (35:43):
You ready for the question that this game begets what's that?
Give me the scenario where we go over thirty seven
and a half.
Speaker 4 (35:53):
Got one.
Speaker 3 (35:55):
Even if quinch On Jenkins scores three times, I don't
expect the Jets to do anything to even pick up
their end of the bargain.
Speaker 5 (36:01):
Now, I actually almost the Browns. I considered having as
a streaming defense as well, but they're actually rostered in
like sixty five sure, so you can't really can't really
stream them.
Speaker 4 (36:10):
But well, they were probably loaded up this week.
Speaker 3 (36:12):
Everybody got in ahead of the game and we're like,
all right, let's let's get that Browns defense in. All right,
that's gonna do it for week ten. Best of luck
to all of you. And we're all still alive in
our Guillotine League here at Fox Sports Radio. So we've
made it through the halfway point. I'm not sure how
many lives my team has, but but it's it's been
(36:33):
a fun ride so far.
Speaker 2 (36:34):
Good that we're all still alive to this point. Going
down the mountain side as the waiver wire dollars start
to diminish, Yes, judicious moves need to be made from there.
Speaker 3 (36:45):
No I needed Ceedee Lamb just to stay alive last week.
So counting my nine lives, all right, that'll do it
for this pod. Ian up at Ian Roddy Underscore. You
can find me at Dan Byron Fox and has always
find Mike at Swollen Dolmen. We will talk to you
next time after week ten here and I want your
flex m
