Speaker 1 (00:00):
Ladies and gentlemen, you want experience during your football season,

experience in the world. This is I want your flex

down everything you need to set your lineups, from position

(00:22):
rankings to starts and sits. The guys help you make
those hard decisions. And now let's get your flexod here's
Dan Bayer and Mike Harmon.

Speaker 2 (00:34):
Well, that's a wrap for Week twelve. Hit Mike up
at Swollen Dom. You can find me at Dan Byer
on Fox and get our executive producer, Ian Roddy at
Ian Roddy underscore over three for us this week into
including two heartbreakers for us here on the show. Not
that you care about our fantasy teams, but we called it, Mike.
On our last episode, the odds makers had the over

(00:57):
under for the Niners and Panthers at forty and there's.

Speaker 3 (01:01):
No way we thought it was even gonna get close
to that, and it didn't.

Speaker 2 (01:04):
On Monday Night, our final game of week twelve, Christian
McCaffrey gets in the end zone. But for those of
us who had some skin in the game at the
end of the week. It went for not because of
that low scoring affair.

Speaker 4 (01:17):
Yeah, you get that ISO game, you get excited, you
have that great opening drive from the forty nine ers
and down at bam.

Speaker 1 (01:25):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (01:25):
Like then brock Perdy throws three interceptions. Bryce Young with
the inexplicable interception. Canalis tried to explain that away, but
not like you're playing anybody outside of Tea McMillan and
ric O'Donnell, Ricodowndle six carries, really six carries in a game. Yeah,
four catches for thirty six yards. So you got a

(01:46):
little savor there to at least get you to a
double digit in PPR leagues. Right, if we're talking about
desperate modes, McCaffrey finishes with thirty one touches. They're gonna
break him in half before this is all said and done.
Juwan Jennings while not getting punched and the junk had
five for forty one in the score.

Speaker 5 (02:03):
But yeah, it was. It was one of the like
looking at the over under and the trend in.

Speaker 4 (02:07):
A lot of these these late night affairs has been
big first halves and they're looking at the over under
and getting excited and then nothing happens in the second half.
We've had a number of those games the last couple
of weeks, so I'm like, maybe there's some life. So
we get a couple of touchdowns in the third court,
I'm like, here we go, Nah, three points in the
fourth and that's it. Twenty to nine year final and

(02:29):
and a lot of hand ringing over what the hell
did I just watch?

Speaker 2 (02:34):
Well, I think that the same one could be said
for what we saw on Sunday night as well, with
the Buccaneers and then no show and the Rams dominance
and now you got Baker Mayfield's injury.

Speaker 3 (02:44):
To deal with.

Speaker 2 (02:45):
It's it's the close games in fantasy are are something else.
But it's funny on how it comes down to everybody.
In Ian's game on Monday Night, he said, I just
needed a little bit more from Christian McCaffrey.

Speaker 3 (02:59):
I needed just a little bit.

Speaker 2 (03:00):
More from Brock Purty or less when it comes to
the interceptions, or from Juwan Jennings. I'm sure someone need
to just a little bit more from Rico Doddell. But
I always tell myself, this is the reason why we
play fantasy. Those Monday night games are fun. You look
forward to them throughout the day and then sometimes it's
just heartbreak at the end, that's what happens.

Speaker 4 (03:20):
Yeah, it's the the unfortunate spot also in week twelve
because the extra extra gravi toss depending on your standings,
depending on tiebreakers and how those have all been set up,
depending on who you're facing in a particular week. Right,
there's some some games, even on a fantasy schedule, that
become you know, might as well be wearing rivalry colors

(03:42):
as you watch the games that meet a little bit
more why they're a better, bigger, more obnoxious smack talker
maybe in your league or just someone you don't like.
But all of that to say, you know that the
Monday night game, and when we start talking about you know,
McCaffrey in particular, it is like, at what point have
you squeezed too much out of him to wearing down

(04:04):
the stretch? You don't have it, but they've needed every
bit of it to get to eight and four. But yeah,
I mean the two circumstances of you and Ian had
talked about like that is just the absolute worst, right,
And I think we can all go back and all
of you listening, go back into your league and whether
it's your matchup or one you were watching chase you're
chasing in the standings, or who's chasing you, and you

(04:27):
see those narrow things, you start watching a myriad of
players beyond your own little microcosm of the fantasy world,
just like no, no, no, no, that five yards is gonna
screw me? Right, or in cases where it's like there's
the big decision of whether it was a pass or
not right, we had that in the Monday night game,

(04:49):
like is that gonna get overturned?

Speaker 5 (04:51):
Is it? What it account?

Speaker 4 (04:52):
Hey?

Speaker 5 (04:52):
Someone tell me was it a catch or like?

Speaker 4 (04:55):
Cause even I was listening to the radio broadcast on
the way into the studio to do my show with
Jason Smith, and they were in the broadcast booth arguing
about it. Well, swing out to McCaffrey whether it was
behind the line of scritage.

Speaker 2 (05:08):
Yes, happened twice during the game on Monday night. And
this is we had our long term league where we
had our own rules, and it took us twenty seven
years to the SAT. I only just let a site
just do it and whatever they say goes. But we
I love to write out a little you know, I
used to do this, I don't do it anymore.

Speaker 3 (05:29):
A little story.

Speaker 2 (05:30):
You know, at the end, some of them are now
AI generated, and I shouldn't even say AI generated because
they've been generated way before AI. But the point being
is now a stat corrections and the other stuff we've
got going on. I just wait until the next week
is underway before I do any of that stuff, because
we have seen that effect games before. I remember a

(05:50):
couple of years ago, I was I had won a
game in a league where we had IDP and I
think it.

Speaker 3 (05:59):
Was like Titans.

Speaker 2 (06:01):
It was a Titans game because AJ Brown was on
the Titans at the time, and they threw three interceptions
the Titans did, and AJ Brown was getting points for
the tackles on the interceptions, and so.

Speaker 3 (06:14):
Like it was like I lost, I won, I lost.

Speaker 2 (06:18):
I ended up winning, But it went back and forth,
I kid you not, like two or three times on
whether AJ Brown was actually being credited for a tackle
on an interception where the defender went out of bounds
or just gave himself up. But yeah, those are the
sort of stat correction things that can end up plug,
you know, changing the fortunes and outcomes of games.

Speaker 4 (06:36):
Well, what's funny is Once upon a time, in a
prior life, when I was helping administer the fun and
exciting world of the Yahoo Sports games, we'd have those
where people would set up the IDP. Well, there wouldn't
be the explicit nature of telling you what AJ Brown got.
There would be an asterisk that would show up, so
you know we got points for something, not a reception,

(06:59):
not yage, not a touchdown, but it wouldn't tell you
the specificity. So we'd get people writing in going, hey,
this guy got an extra like four points that doesn't
make any sense, like, and then we'd have to do
exactly that, go back through the play by play as
best we could, and obviously we get far more information
in our play by plays and recaps or the ability

(07:23):
to just go back and watch a game if we
needed to to try to settle these things, and you'd
have to write them back like, well, since your league
is set up for individual defensive players, since AJ Brown
tackled insert player here hit six P forty two of
the third, he was awarded the two points for the
tackle as prescribed by your rule, And we'd have to

(07:44):
go through and like it was. It was the fun
research part of the job. Right, Usually it was all right,
people just can't do basic math. But in this case, like,
all right, it's got to be a tackle. Go find
where that tackle happened in the game, and then let
this poor guy.

Speaker 3 (07:59):
Know, gotta be somewhere in this sixty minutes.

Speaker 5 (08:02):
No exactly.

Speaker 4 (08:03):
And sometimes it wouldn't just be you know, a nebulous Hey,
this guy intercepted it down at the five. It's like,
all right, that has to be it, but it doesn't
say it. Yeah, how do I tell this guy that
that's the play? Because I couldn't attach a video at
that point. Right, this is rudimentary part. You know, the
internet just really starting to take off. Its like you're

(08:25):
gonna have to trust me, pale, you know that.

Speaker 5 (08:27):
Kind of thing.

Speaker 3 (08:28):
That's that's great.

Speaker 2 (08:30):
It would come down to that and people would get mad.
But that's why we love fantasy football. Let's let's dive
into week twelve. Let's get to it, because there was
a lot that happens. I'm gonna I'm gonna start out
with one of the wackier situations. When you're scrolling box
scores and you're looking at all the matchups that we
had in week twelve. I think most of us were
pretty sure when we saw the leading rusher in that

(08:50):
Colt's Chiefs game, it was gonna be Jonathan Taylor ocntreer
Mon Frere. Not only did Taylor just have fifty eight
yards on sixteen carries, Kareem Hunt, he had a buck
four and a touchdown Mike doing so on thirty carries.
I'm telling you it was shocking. Longest run eighteen yards

(09:10):
for Kareem Hunt average three and a half yards per
carry is the math is sitting there right in front
of me. But Kareem Hunt cashing in on week twelve
was not something that I expected, especially in that showdown
with the Colts. I know DeForest Buckner's not available right now,
that's hurting the Colts defense, but they just couldn't get
off the field and cream Hunt one of those who
was able to reap the benefits.

Speaker 4 (09:31):
Just the willingness to keep tucking the ball into his gut. Now,
obviously still another week without Pacheco. We'll see if he's
available for week thirteen as they have that big showdown
against the Cowboys. You want to talk about intrigue on
both sides of an equation for a game in a
nice standalone spot there as part of the Thanksgiving festivities.

Speaker 5 (09:52):
But thirty carries, I.

Speaker 4 (09:53):
Mean, we count on one hand the number of guys
that have gotten thirty carries in a game, probably in
the last two years combined.

Speaker 5 (10:00):
We just don't see that anymore. So.

Speaker 4 (10:02):
The fact that they went to him early and often,
and it's a game where Patrick Mahomes threw for three
hundred and fifty two yards like the two just they
blow your mind. Right, you finally got a couple of
big plays out of Worthy and Rice in the receiving game,
which the explosives haven't been there. But for Kareem Hunt,
it's we've kept him at arm's length all year and

(10:22):
rightly so, right because you're looking at a week to
week basis with that Kansas City run attack that you
haven't seen a lot, But it was his fourth straight
week with a touchdown run. So we had him on
the radar just because of the red zone efficiency. But
now you're talking about four straight weeks with double digit
touches and thirty thirty. Okay, even if we go back

(10:46):
to fifteen, he still becomes viable as a back end
two with the expectation even with a better Dallas run defense.

Speaker 5 (10:54):
I mean, I still need to see more.

Speaker 4 (10:56):
One game against the Raiders and then a half of
football that was pretty good against the Eagles is not
a great defense, make.

Speaker 2 (11:04):
No, no, that's for sure. And the Colts, I think
better days will be ahead. They couldn't get off the field,
but I think this is also now a bit of
a recipe and not every team's going to be able
to do what the Chiefs are going to be able
to do.

Speaker 3 (11:17):
CJ.

Speaker 2 (11:17):
Strouds expected back for the Texans in Week thirteen, and
what is a huge divisional game in the AFC South
for both Indy and Houston.

Speaker 3 (11:26):
But we saw what Houston did.

Speaker 2 (11:27):
Defensively against the Bills on Thursday night and at least
getting after the quarterback. So I'm seeing I'm curious to
see on who wakes up for the Colts in that contest,
because it was Daniel Jones of the red zone making
a couple of touchdown passes, but Jonathan Taylor largely ineffective
for a game where the Colts just weren't on the
field much against Kansas City.

Speaker 4 (11:48):
Yeah, they got off for early, right, you saw, Like
I certainly got the blips of the updates of the
Daniel Jones heroics early and then radio silent.

Speaker 5 (11:57):
Yeah, radio silent along.

Speaker 4 (12:00):
The way and you know Jonathan Taylor, I mean, that's
one of the misses. But you know it's on the
Ronco set, and forget it. It's the anniversary of those
infomercials starting, so I got I gotta you know, get that,
especially if you get the rotisserie chickens.

Speaker 5 (12:13):
Going for the holiday holiday holiday.

Speaker 4 (12:15):
But yeah, Daniel Jones, you know, you look at him
for the last couple of weeks, tough go. He's just
outside of the the qb ones in terms of his
scoring for week twelve. But against Houston, I mean that
becomes the what the hell else do I have available?
No part of that defensive front?

Speaker 2 (12:35):
Yeah, I agree with that, Like you got the as
you said, he got the two touchdown passes and it
was a moderate day. You know, you know, he didn't
kill you by any means. But it's sure it is
a different time and now these games mean something. It's
it's the first half of the season versus the second
half of the season. And it's not that the first

(12:56):
half of the season is a high scoring affair. As
Evan by what Jamier Gibbs did, and we'll get to
him and the Lions in just a second here, But
it's it's also just the fact of now teams are
realizing that they're, you know, playing for more, and I
just think, I think sometimes games play out differently. Sometimes
you will get those forty one thirty five shootouts and

(13:16):
maybe you wouldn't get earlier on in the season. But
other times you have a Chiefs team that desperately needed
to win that game and that was their script to
do so keep the Colts off the field, and they
were able to figure it out.

Speaker 5 (13:27):
Grind it now.

Speaker 4 (13:27):
Kareem Hunt also adding three catches for twenty six yards
in that one. But yeah, it'll it'll be curious to watch.
I mean, that Indie game this next week. I mean,
that's just crazy because now Houston they've won those games
with Davis Mills. Has it been great and efficient? No,
but it puts them back in. So now we start
looking at the jockeying for the division with Jacksonville playing

(13:51):
Tennessee as well, So we do the presumptive, all right,
Jackieville is gonna win. How does this you know matter,
you know for the division, but certainly you know divisional
matchups are a weird beast in and of themselves.

Speaker 2 (14:05):
We'll get So what stood out to Mike in week
thirteen and or a week twelve as well, and what
stood out to Ian in this past week's action.

Speaker 3 (14:12):
Of course, Week thirteen.

Speaker 2 (14:13):
Starts with the tripleheader on Thursday to have into some
ramifications for that, and of course we have the Black
Friday Game with Mike's Bears taking on the Eagles coming
up on Friday. But more week twelve recap next here,
and I want your flex all right, we have the
Eagles blowing a twenty one nothing lead, or if you're
a Cowboys fan, you could say Cowboys coming back from

(14:35):
that twenty one nothing deficit with twenty four un answered
Giants alliance.

Speaker 3 (14:41):
We're talking about that game.

Speaker 2 (14:42):
As well, so much in Week twelve, Mike, what stands
out for you from what the week that we just.

Speaker 4 (14:46):
Had absolute chaos all across the board, some as I
use the term strange bedfellows. I thought Jamis was a
nice ninja play. I didn't expect them to catch a
touchdown pass nor lead all quarterbacks with thirty two points.
Cam Ward was a top five guy for a week. So,
like you know, the old you know, any given Sunday,

(15:10):
kind of the mantra kind of really rang true. Trevor
Lawrence was a top seven quarterback. Nobody's banking on that.
Whereas some of our usual suspects. We already talked about
Jonathan Taylor and the struggles that he had, a part
of it not being on the field with all those
Kareem Hunt touches. But you know, Emmanuel Wilson steps in

(15:32):
for the injured Josh Jacobs. He's the second leading rusher
of the day. Again, we'll take the small victory lap
off the Ninja, but it had a giant question mark
was he actually going to get a workload? Derrick Henry
was number four. I don't trust Derrick Henry. I don't
trust anything going on in Baltimore right now. They're winning,
but for fantasy purposes, they inspire no confidence whatsoever. Lamar

(15:54):
Jackson seems like he's running in about fifty to sixty
percent of his normal self over the last four weeks
since his return, he's got a total of seventy two
rushing yards like twenty five attempts.

Speaker 3 (16:07):
Yeah, and you could see it.

Speaker 2 (16:09):
And again, Ian under suspect to your jets.

Speaker 6 (16:13):
But disrespect away.

Speaker 2 (16:16):
Like I do wonder like if because there were runs
where you could tell that Lamar did not, you know,
go down on the throttle, like he just he was
not going to take off.

Speaker 3 (16:29):
And I don't know if he was playing safe. I
don't know if he was.

Speaker 2 (16:31):
Because they're playing the Jets the week prior it was
the game against the Browns, I don't know if, like
those are the reasons why he's doing that. And you know, figuring, well,
we got a game with the Steelers coming up in
a couple of weeks, you got the Patriots on our schedule.
Those are the games are got to make sure I'm healthy.
But you're right, there is a different Lamar when he's
running the football.

Speaker 3 (16:50):
You can see it.

Speaker 6 (16:51):
There were there were some plays in that game where
they where the Ravens played the Jets that it was
like because the Jets defense was able to make those plays,
that was an ind cater in and of itself that
Lamar isn't isn't himself right now, there were some tackles
they were able to make that if Lamar were himself,
it just wouldn't have happened.

Speaker 4 (17:07):
Yeah, you look at their schedule, right, so they play
Cincinnati Thanksgiving night, and they have another one with them
no Hendrickson, So the one defender you would fear chasing
him down in there. Two against Pittsburgh New England, as
you said, Dan, and then you got Green Bay. Those
are your six games remaining. But right now, back to
back weeks without a score, right now, the hand ringing,

(17:32):
here's an MVP. It's like and it's like, all right,
he's back and healthy, but I have a voted no confidence,
like I.

Speaker 5 (17:39):
Can't start him.

Speaker 4 (17:40):
Yes, I agree, but eaven against the Bengals what looks
like the cherry of matchups, ISO game, Thanksgiving trip to
fan induced coma, eating my fifth piece of pie. I
don't want to be throwing up because I'm getting a
miserable effort because he can't run.

Speaker 2 (17:57):
Yeah, what scares me is we've seen some Angles Ravens
games in the past be nice, fun shootouts. This doesn't
behoove Baltimore to get into a shootout. Plus, I don't
even know if Burl's gonna be any good to be honest,
I mean I say that fliple, yeah, only just because
of rust. Now you're putting them in, what are we
going to get? I don't think you're gonna see t

(18:18):
Higgins on Thursday night because of the concussion that he suffered.
But yeah, so I just yeah, Lamar just didn't look
still is not looking the same. And I don't know
if it's if it's something more than him just being
apprehensive because of this or what.

Speaker 3 (18:34):
But there is a difference for sure.

Speaker 4 (18:36):
Go back through the running backs for some other Week
twelve again the position that is so in flux, right,
which is why if you have one of those bell cows.
We've talked a lot about McCaffrey, and you have one
of those guys that you can bank on those fifteen
to twenty touches, you just cherish them because you look
at the back end of those scores for rb ones

(18:58):
in week twelve, right half point PPR leagues, Kareem Hunt
that we talked about he was eight. We've seen more
of Travis etn feeling more comfortable and confident in what
they're doing run wise. James Cook was there great, but
we finally had an Ashton genty sighting wrong by me.

(19:18):
We talk about Wilson Gibbs with that monster performance, but
the back end of the rb Ones Judkins had the
two scores taking care of business there. Kenneth Gainwell had
a big game against the Bears. Again, this goes back
to the Bears will give you a lot of yards.
They're gonna be opportunistics defensively even when they don't have
six starters. Dylan Samson with that swing pass that put

(19:42):
him into the top twelve, and then Tyrone Tracy was twelve.
So you're looking at a lot of guys that are
either undrafted that you picked up on waivers, or they've
been languishing on your bench waiting for that opportunity.

Speaker 5 (19:57):
Week twelve was it.

Speaker 2 (20:00):
On Tracy gameplay. But now I'm starting to think that
these are what Giants games are going to look like.
I hate to say, Well, Jameis says the quarterback things
have opened up. I mean it really has, and and
the Lions needed every bit of Jumior Gibbs and his
fifty five points and whatever he put up in various
leagues to be able to even have a chance to

(20:21):
win that game.

Speaker 4 (20:22):
You know what's funny, like with the alerts that I
get right, it's opponent like, so I faced him in
a league and it kept bleeping. I'm like, this can't
be right. Is a running back like what they don't
have the ball that much, Like what's going on here?
And then you look at the final you know, final updates. Again,
I was at a soccer game, so I eventually got

(20:42):
to go back and watch him, Like boy, I really
enjoy watching him play, and it just scares me that
for all that time he.

Speaker 5 (20:52):
Was boxed up.

Speaker 4 (20:52):
And I love David Montgomery, but I mean, Gibbs is
just that guy on a whole other level.

Speaker 3 (20:59):
And with the Laporta injury. Mm hm, this is this
has changed things.

Speaker 2 (21:04):
That gets golf is either getting the ball to Amarra
or he is getting the ball to Jamiir Gibbs. Like
there is no more everybody feasts. I mean, if Jamison
Williams can make some plays, great, but he didn't have
a catch on on Sunday, so that is of concern.
And when guys are when your options are dwindling, it's

(21:28):
not that.

Speaker 3 (21:29):
Next man up. Four moves to three and five moves
to four.

Speaker 2 (21:33):
Now I think it's so much just focusing on all right,
I gotta find Amanra, I gotta we gotta get Jamir
Gibbs the football, and this is who we're gonna ride.
And it's actually what they did when Montgomery got hurt
at the end of last year, and why Gibbs was
able to to strive. I don't know if that's a
winning fashion for the Lions, but that's the way that
they have to play right now.

Speaker 4 (21:51):
Yeah, I mean, certainly down the stretch, you've got a
lot of indoor games, which bodes well. We all know
the legend that is Jared Goff there for Ama Rossain
Brown a big game. He's been plagued by drops throughout
the year. Certainly, we've got a bunch of Lions fans
and writers that we know that lament that at times

(22:15):
and like just the law of averages, you throw a
ball to a guy one hundred times, you get a
drop one. But all of that say, he was third
and half PPR leagues this week. But yeah, the Laporta
injury really does shed a light on you know what,
just get the ball into the two best guys and
let him try to scheme it up to get him
some yak.

Speaker 2 (22:36):
And it wasn't like Laporta was the thea porter that
we knew from a season or two ago. But still
like it's just another option that kind of ends up
going by the wayside. Ian what stood out for you
in Week twelve.

Speaker 6 (22:49):
Yeah, guys, I think I think we'd be remiss if
we didn't mention schud Or Sanders and the start to
his you know, starting career that he's had.

Speaker 5 (22:58):
It was the Raiders.

Speaker 6 (22:59):
You know, plenty of people in our industry have have
pointed out, and rightfully so it was the Raiders, and
that's not you know, it makes his performance a little
less impressive, and it's not like his performance in a
vacuum on its own with some incredible, you know, lights
out performance, But it's just so much better than what
Dylan Gabriel was to me. This just opens up every

(23:20):
other Browns fantasy option, like not only the receivers you
know in Djoku and Judy who obviously had that terrible fumble,
but the running backs too, like Judkins had a huge
game and that's just a result of them being in
scoring position more often, and Schador clearly gives them way
more of a chance to move the ball. So we'll
see how he does against the defense that's non Raiders,

(23:42):
but again, like you play the team in front of you,
they're still an NFL defense, and he looked like he
belonged to He looked better than a fifth round pick, right,
So that's what I saw.

Speaker 2 (23:51):
Yeah, I mean he did, especially when you look at
the names of some of the quarterbacks that have started.

Speaker 3 (23:57):
That was my big thing on Sunday.

Speaker 2 (23:58):
Of about twelve quarterbacks that ended up starting games from
in their rookie season that were fifth round or worse
over the last ten seasons. And we're talking Clayton Tune,
We're talking Skyler Thompson. Now brock Perty was one of
those guys. Jaron Hall a couple of years ago with
the Vikings as the Nathan net pops up. Gardner Minshew

(24:19):
was on that list. And you know what else is
on the list, Nathan Peterman remember him from.

Speaker 3 (24:23):
The five interception game and a half year.

Speaker 2 (24:26):
Yeah, yeah, So it could have been that for Shador
and it wasn't. What I do think was interesting, and
I wonder if it will change in Week thirteen against
the forty nine ers. But Judkins got it both of
his touchdowns via the wildcat. It took Shador completely off
the field in that scenario. So I don't know if
this is going to be something going forward, if this
was a different look, if this was a we don't

(24:48):
trust Shador. But I am curious to see what the
Browns do in those certain goal to goal situations moving forward,
because it did seem to work. I mean, Judkins got
in the end zone both times, but it's against again,
it's against the Raiders, and maybe different against San Francisco.
But Niner's not coming in on a short week, going
on the road again, having to travel west or east.

(25:10):
So yeah, so there could be more opportunities, uh for
that for that run game, and even to Ian's point,
maybe even more so in the passing game if.

Speaker 3 (25:19):
You need to.

Speaker 6 (25:20):
And to be clear, I'm not saying I would, you know,
even start Shoudoor Sanders in fantasy.

Speaker 5 (25:24):
It's more just no. But you're saying Harold result exactly.

Speaker 6 (25:28):
Guys like Harold Fanon are just gonna have way more
opportunities because there's a guy who can actually get them
the ball.

Speaker 5 (25:33):
No, that's thing being able to work down field.

Speaker 4 (25:35):
Like in terms of advance reference from Pro football Reference
dot Com, Dylan Gabriel average yards air yards per pass
attempt five point nine. Not surprising down there with Kyler
Murray and Aaron Rodgers just ahead of them. Jared Goff,
take that for what it is, uh for Shoudoor Sanders

(25:59):
limited limited space here, but you're looking at eight point four.
That puts him at eighth right. And and that's the
one thing that we saw when he came in with
the four for sixteen. He's gonna put the ball up right,
and he's not shy about it. Like his postgame comments
got everybody all and it's hissy. It's like, whatever, the

(26:19):
guy got to start a game. He gotta win. He
gets to say nanny nanny booboo and move on, right.
I mean, that's that's it. You can like it or not.
You know, he thanks God, he thanks his family, whatever. Wow,
what a terrible guy. But it's when you get down
to it. Jerry Judy Fannin, who was one of the
few targets that Dylan Gabriel could get the ball to

(26:42):
because of that short and intermediate style that he had.
That's great, but you know, Shador's not gonna shy away
from putting the ball down. Does that mean that some
turnovers are gonna come? Absolutely? And was he scattershot?

Speaker 5 (26:55):
Sure? First start eleven of twenty one, was it world beating?

Speaker 3 (26:58):
No?

Speaker 4 (27:00):
A lot of the yards come on the two, like
the one reception, the fifty nine yarder. I mean that
was a great throw right and rolling to your right.
I mean cannon for an r but for a stumbling,
bumbling catch he goes into the end zone. And we're
talking about that in a whole other way, right. And
then obviously you get the Sampson swing pass that it

(27:22):
counts for sixty six. You don't have to like it,
but it still counts as a sixty six yards.

Speaker 6 (27:28):
The best was like ESPN PR or something like tweeting
out the videos saying it's the longest completion by a
rookie all season, and just knowing that that was complete
rage paid.

Speaker 2 (27:38):
The other great thing about the Dylan Samson play in
the line is that Dylan Samson's long catch came for
sixty six yards. He had fifty nine total receiving yards,
So the other one lost seven yards. Oh no, two
catches for fifty nine yards and a touchdown and the
long was sixty six.

Speaker 4 (27:57):
Well, on that other reception, you just still got the
point three in a pp are. But all of that
to say it, it does open things up, and it
gives us another guy to talk about, right, are we
gonna see great heights? No?

Speaker 5 (28:08):
I don't think so.

Speaker 4 (28:09):
But it's interesting and it's the first win by a
Brown's quarterback and his debut.

Speaker 5 (28:16):
Did you see the answer to that one?

Speaker 3 (28:18):
Dan Yeah, Zire Eric.

Speaker 5 (28:19):
Zion Ericxire in nineteen ninety.

Speaker 3 (28:22):
Five, former Georgia Bulldog.

Speaker 2 (28:24):
The other thing with like the Browns, like if you
were to pick up Isaiah bond if you're like really
hurting for wide receivers and maybe you are, maybe you
got Terry McLaurin or Marvin Harrison or T Higgins or
one of those guys. You do have a game with
the Titans coming up in a couple of weeks. Plus
teams that do have these young quarterbacks will take shots
down the field, so you'll see more maybe of those

(28:46):
plays to Isaiah Bond.

Speaker 4 (28:47):
Well and those guys they've been working with all season, right,
we've yeah, we've always talked about that, right ye. Elevated
guy from the second team, whoever he's been running practice
reps with, probably gonna see a little more run.

Speaker 2 (29:00):
Absolutely. Any thoughts on JJ McCarthy now on concussion protocol
for the Vikings, that's and that's that's tough man.

Speaker 4 (29:10):
And like right now that that shot of Justin Jefferson
walking off the field and he's saying all the right
things and he's being a good teammate. It is tough.
I mean I mentioned to you guys, I think it
was off air. Was the Jordan Addison big goose egg, right,
because in my matchup I got absolutely drummed because a

(29:31):
couple of huge uh the one I really care about,
you know, how you line up. It's like it was
on his side, I'm on Ross Saint Brown on my side,
Jordan Addison like yeah, so yeah, you're you're just watching
a disaster from an offensive standpoint, right, and it this
week it gets magnified because here's Sam Darnold and the

(29:54):
Seahawks waiting on you.

Speaker 3 (29:55):
Yeah, and it very much could be the Max Brosmer show.

Speaker 6 (30:01):
Cathy's not even playing, so it's just gonna look yeah.

Speaker 2 (30:04):
Well that's yeah, that's the rock. They They may they
may need to just punt on the season, bring a
little bit more talent in, but you got to figure
out a way to fix that in the off season.
Every By the way, Ian, just so you know, Vikings
fans now think that they can maybe try to swing

(30:25):
a deal to get Joe Burrow.

Speaker 5 (30:26):
So it's not just the Jets.

Speaker 2 (30:28):
Vikings fans are now in on it, because why wouldn't
you reunite Joe Burrow and Justin Jefferson right from the
LSU days.

Speaker 3 (30:35):
Let's get him.

Speaker 6 (30:35):
I'd much rather go to Minnesota than than the Jets.
I still don't think he moves.

Speaker 3 (30:43):
But no, I don't. I don't think so either.

Speaker 5 (30:45):
But postantial for chaos is good for all of us.

Speaker 2 (30:48):
Oh yeah, right, yeah, keeps the conversation going. That's always
a good thing. We will as well. After our time out,
Mike's gonna give you some waiver wire picks. Plus we
all give our report cards for how we did in
week twelve.

Speaker 3 (31:02):
That's all coming up next right here on. I want
your flex.

Speaker 2 (31:09):
Mike's got some waiver wire picks coming up for week
thirteen in just a little bit.

Speaker 3 (31:13):
But let's get to the report cards. Mike. We will
start with you hand your week twelve.

Speaker 4 (31:17):
Look, well, we got a couple of hits in the
quarterback Stafford and Hurts got us there.

Speaker 5 (31:22):
Mahomes was still a QB one. I'll take the w there.

Speaker 4 (31:26):
I had Gibbs and McCaffrey flipped, but we'll take those wins.
And we did have Derrick Henry in the top five.
I was questioning myself after we record, I go, why
did I do that? And it worked for once? Hey,
the blind squirrel theory. I'm on Ross, Saint Brown, JSN
wins and the wide receiver. Otherwise, I mean Drake May,

(31:48):
Jared Goff, Traveon Henderson, Saquon Barkley. I mean, yes, you
got the receptions, but the running it really two one zero,
Like it looked like the old Barry Sanders where you're like,
all right, I'm gonna get the fifty five and a touchdown.

Speaker 5 (32:04):
Aren't it?

Speaker 4 (32:04):
Nah? I got none of that. Shot in a beer,
shot in a beer. Jonathan Taylor gave us nothing, so
fails there. T Higgins failed to finish the game. Hopefully
he's okay, but we had him as a top play.
Rashi Rice had ance game, so we'll take a half.

Speaker 5 (32:23):
A victory there. Puka Nakua and a Rare.

Speaker 4 (32:25):
I mean, he got seven for ninety seven, but that's
not what we come to expect. Where's more, if you're
going to score that many points in the first half,
why do you give me nothing?

Speaker 5 (32:33):
All right?

Speaker 4 (32:33):
Brissett, Caleb were wins Quin, Shawn Judkins. As you mentioned
with the Wildcat got us there on the cold Soars.
I feel like I've got him in a really thick
inkpen at this point when you're talking about Justin Jefferson,
Christian Watson didn't give us much Roma doonesay, despite the
Bears heroics, he didn't give us much fantasy wise, Jamis

(32:57):
was a ninja and Wilson was a ninja. Gain Well,
Michael Wilson massive targets once again and won. Dale Robinson
hit for us on the downside, Lamar as a hot play.
Jean was outside of the rb ones Jamison Williams big
fat zero. I'm stealing that from our buddy Monci Belanyos,

(33:19):
Big fat zero. That's how she describes players on her
fantasy team that let her down. I had Genty on
the cold Soores got good for him, had a big
day a dak after just a miserable start to things,
ends up with a banner day, so he gets it done.
So it makes me look stupid, so we take that.
And then I had Shadour as a ninja. So while

(33:42):
he gave us the headlines, he gave us nothing else.

Speaker 3 (33:45):
Oh that's all right, at least they had some fun.

Speaker 5 (33:47):
No, that's it.

Speaker 3 (33:48):
Yeah. Ian Hunter streaming defenses work in Week.

Speaker 5 (33:51):
Twelve, pretty solid week.

Speaker 6 (33:53):
We'll go worst to best, So start with the Raiders.
They got just seven fantasy points if he started them.
They all allowed twenty four points to the Browns, but
they did picture door off once. They got a fumble,
recovery and a sack, so that was good for seven points.
And then the New Orleans Saints the other two that
I gave you with the Saints and the Falcons.

Speaker 3 (34:13):
Both on the Saints game All Black weekend.

Speaker 6 (34:16):
Yeah exactly, So the Saints got to eleven fantasy points.
They also allowed twenty four points to the Falcons, but
they got a pick six forty nine yard pick six.
Might I add on Kirk Cousins huge, and then they
sacked him three times as well, so that was good
for eleven fantasy points. And then the Falcons. They only
allowed four points to the Saints, so that was extremely

(34:37):
ideal for fantasy purposes. They got an interception on top
of that, recovered a fumble, and they got to Kirk
five times, or they got to Tyler Schuck five times.
Yeah yeah, so pretty good week for fantasy defenses. So yeah, uh,
seven eleven and fifteen points.

Speaker 3 (34:54):
All right, That's that's all we can ask. Especially with
those teams.

Speaker 2 (34:58):
There was a little bit to be desired, but sometimes
you just have to have to roll with it.

Speaker 3 (35:02):
And Ian cashed in.

Speaker 2 (35:05):
Yes, Yes, zilmed the Points of Paloza. Hit guys, yeah,
Giants and Lions, so much so that I replayed this
on Sunday to Ian, I said, I got a double
check to make sure, and I'm like, yes, all right,
we did hit it. And survivor pick told you to
take the Seahawks of the games that had the three

(35:28):
big spreads. If you took the Lions, you sweated it out,
but you gotta win. Kudos to you, But we were
safe on the Seahawks. The coin flip that I told
you to take the Browns, I kind of wish I
would have done it myself in my pool, but they
came through big time. So if you took Cleveland, congratulations,
you were probably one of the few. So at least
some high marks on the report card for me for

(35:50):
Week twelve, despite the tough loss in Fantasy during the week.

Speaker 5 (35:54):
Good call on the Browns, Dan, That's that's a good week.

Speaker 2 (35:58):
Yeah, there's there's a couple of Week thirteen that we'll
get to in our next episode that I think could
be very intriguing. It's just on what side you're going
to be on, so sha'll see.

Speaker 4 (36:08):
Yeah, it's an interesting slate for sure. And finally, a
week with no buys, no international games. For that you
have to monitor early on and get those lineup sets.
And so this is where we get into the injury
report for week thirteen. It is probably the most important
week of the year in trying to parse out information.

Speaker 2 (36:28):
Yeah, and there will be buyes after Week fourteen is
the last week of byes. But yes, Mike says, there's
nobody on by coming up in week thirteen. All right,
With that being said, we don't have to worry about
guys being on by Mike, but we do have to
worry about injuries and other things.

Speaker 3 (36:42):
Who do we look for on the waiver wire this week?

Speaker 4 (36:44):
Well, we got another top seven effort out of Jacoby
Brissett in week twelve. He goes up against the Buccaneers,
so let's go, let's roll him up again. He's still
available in nearly forty percent of leagues based on looking
at the Yahoo default leagues to a tongue of Ilo
going up against the new Orleans Saints owned in only
seventeen percent of league's opportunity. They played well coming out

(37:08):
of their bye week. Maybe an opportunity to push Trevor
Lawrence going up against Tennessee. Look you arrive the lightning
with Trevor Lawrence. We've talked about this, Dan, you and
I I think I've flipped a decade at this point,
it seems talking about Trevor Lawrence. But an opportunity here.
We'll keep an eye on what goes on with the Giants,

(37:29):
whether Jackson Dart gets activated. Right that's the Monday night
game against New England, because if not, Al jamis all
the time, baby.

Speaker 5 (37:38):
If not, maybe you could play him as a tight end.
I don't know.

Speaker 4 (37:42):
And then Sam Darnold going up against Minnesota. They're ten
and a half point favorites as I look at this
here late on a Monday night, So an opportunity knocks there.
Quarterback position done gain Well fifty four percent owned Monong Guy,
fifty six percent owned Trey Benson on the comeback there
in Arizona. That's a stash. See what his status is.

(38:05):
Eventually he's going to be back to take up that
run game. But he's available, in nearly forty percent of leagues,
and then Emmanuel Wilson with the short week, with that
game against Detroit looming, the potential is that Josh Jacobs
may miss another We'll have to see. We'll have more
on our midweek episode, but for defensive purposes and based

(38:27):
on proof of concept with what he did this past week,
he should be rostered. Go find him still available in
about thirty five percent of leagues. And then we get
to the wide receivers.

Speaker 5 (38:36):
We got our guy.

Speaker 4 (38:37):
DK We've talked about him before, Shamir d K fourteen
percent on Now you're probably not getting the punt returns. Sorry,
that's not helping you out, but you're looking at a
guy who if cam Ward's finding anybody's finding him, and
against the Jacksonville secondary for week thirteen, potential for you
there Wandeale Robinson still available in about twenty five percent

(38:58):
of leagues. His target count week to week has just
been through the roof. You look at Christian Watson. Do
I trust the Packers pass game week to week? No,
But we're trying to find shares, trying to find some
level of consistency going up against Detroit. Potentially an opportunist
no t Higgins as we've talked about, which means Yoshavash

(39:19):
should be able to find his way. He's only owned
in about twenty to twenty five percent of leagues depending
on where you're looking. Seven target sixty one yards in
that one, and then Parker Washington only forty percent owned,
So getting a little bit deep, and then we could
start playing in the tight end position as the week
goes on.

Speaker 2 (39:36):
All right, there you are your waiver wire pickups four
Week thirteen. I love the love the matchups. I love
the game in Detroit should be a good one. Chiefs
Cowboys is going to just shatter records for viewing. It's
going to be the most watched game of the season.
That Cowboys game usually is. But now with this matchup
should be intriguing. And yeah, Bengals and Ravens are the

(39:59):
Sunday Night test with Joe Burrow's return, I mean, Chris
Collinsworth is not gonna be there. I mean he's gonna
miss a Bengals game. It's gonna be Jason Garrett in
the boothon on Thursday night.

Speaker 3 (40:09):
Wow.

Speaker 5 (40:09):
How about that?

Speaker 3 (40:10):
Yeah? Yeah? Interesting?

Speaker 4 (40:11):
Yeah, I mean, so those four games before we get
to the weekend are just insane. Yeah, right in Chicago
Philly basically for the top of the NFC, alongside the
Rams right now. I mean, it's just I don't know,
it's nuts.

Speaker 2 (40:25):
Well, I'll say this, when it comes to Survivor pools,
we've given advanced picks before. There's no reason to pick
anybody in the first four games of the week, so
you can hold off the Sunday Sundays where you're gonna
want to find more fertile ground. Because I'm not quite
sure what we're gonna get on Thanksgiving her on Black Friday.

Speaker 5 (40:42):
No, I know, I'm gonna eat a lot.

Speaker 4 (40:44):
I'm gonna probably pass out and try to sleep, but
probably see a movie or two with the girls somewhere
along the way, watch some soccer. But those four games
are all heavyweight battles, like so much meaning for each
of those in Baltimore ahead in the we may not
like the North, but if Joe Burrow plays and plays

(41:04):
anything like we've seen Joe Burrow, all of a sudden
chaos ensues. Kansas City, Dallas may just break the internet. Yeah,
all right, right, and then Green Bay Detroit. There's two
teams we're going into in the week thirteen. I can't
tell you definitively how much I love or hate those
Like I don't know what I'm getting week to week.

Speaker 5 (41:23):
So it's great. And then the Bears drive me nuts.
So winning football but still maddening.

Speaker 4 (41:31):
Dan.

Speaker 2 (41:32):
Yeah, I was gonna say, what else is new? But
just the winning recording that changed, chalk up the the WS,
the I just I want to just leave the podcast
with this point because I don't know if it dawned
on people as much. But with Joe Burrow coming back

(41:55):
and I said this, we're in for Doug on Monday
on Monday Show, do people realize that the Bengals, like
it was.

Speaker 3 (42:05):
Worst case scenario for them.

Speaker 2 (42:07):
Practically the only game they've won since Burrow was out
was that Thursday night game against the Steelers that we
all watched. And so now Burrow is coming back and
they're three games back, and we feel like the Bengals
like kind of survived, like they still have a chance,
which I don't think they do really. The Steelers and
Ravens haven't played each other, but it basically almost wouldn't

(42:32):
have mattered, Like Joe Flacco won them that one game
that was the only game that they've won since Burrow
went out in that game against Jacksonville that they ended
up winning when Jake Browning took over. But I mean
they could get anything right during that stretch.

Speaker 4 (42:45):
No, not at all. And it's still just that curiosity
even coming back right right, Like part of me is,
all right, you're getting paid a lot of money, you're
a professional. You can play spoiler and show that you
can get back on the field because the injury bug injury,

(43:06):
you know, riddled, you know, Tag is starting to really
find him. Like I still remember walking out of the
super Bowl against the Rams and everybody, ah, we got.

Speaker 5 (43:15):
It for a decoun I'm like, not so fast. That's
not the way this works.

Speaker 4 (43:19):
You're not supposed to be happy just because you got
a trip to southern California and got to watch your
team in a super Bowl. You should be pissed should
have won that game. But it's and now we're watching
it years later, just we as football fans fantasy owners
just want to see this guy on the field. But
now that he's coming back and Week thirteen him, part
of me is like.

Speaker 2 (43:39):
Why, yeah, it's he needed to play last week honestly,
like he really did.

Speaker 3 (43:45):
He needed to play against the Patriots on Sunday.

Speaker 6 (43:47):
And it's not like scoring points has been the issue
for them. It's been the defense. Like Joe Flacco, they
still mad. There were a few games they managed to
put up like thirty eight points. Still, so how much
was Burrow gonna help still lose?

Speaker 2 (43:59):
Yeah, well, hopefully you won't throw a pick six that
ended up costing ultimately the Bengals that game against the Patriots.
There are other awards to play along with, but Chase
Brown's been great at least during that stretch. So you
got that Cincinnati and that's it for us. We're going
to be back with our rankings episode later in this
Thanksgiving week, but that's what we're gonna give you.

Speaker 3 (44:21):
We've talked about it. We're gonna just have two episodes
this week.

Speaker 2 (44:23):
But we are always thankful that you continue to listen
to the podcast and support it, and we always love
to hear from you guys on social media. You can
find Mike at Swollen Dome, get Ian at Ian Roddy Underscore,
and you can find me at Dan Byer on Fox.
So for Ian Roddy and Mike Harmen, Happy Thanksgiving to
you guys. I'm Dan Bayer and we'll talk to you
next time right here, and I want your flags
