A truly happy and sincere thanksgiving to you all, and

(01:15):
that we remember what today is more than just good
food and football. What we are thankful for in our lives. Man,
I'm thankful for the fifth straight year, the fifth straight
year you and I in this time slot. I just
think it needs to just be called the av Thanksgiving Special.
We should just name it that now.

Speaker 4 (01:33):
When you told me that I didn't believe you, I'm like, no,
five straight things. You just started like five months ago.
For crit I know, I just got here five years. Wow,
five years.

Speaker 2 (01:45):
Geez.

Speaker 4 (01:46):
Time just flies on by, and nobody does Thanksgiving better
than VJ.

Speaker 2 (01:53):
Husky.

Speaker 4 (01:53):
Later on, I got to ask you what you're cooking,
because you put out the best picture.

Speaker 2 (02:00):
Skivvy or Eddie meal you cook, thank you. I totally
missed those pictures. So yeah, well I did just post
my Thanksgiving dinner I cooked this year.

Speaker 4 (02:08):
Man.

Speaker 2 (02:08):
I kept it light though. I kept it light because
I had this show. I'm supposed to go out, uh
to see some family out in LA and then things
went south at the last minutes. I had to turn
around on the highway, go back home and uh and
just chill four minute before. So I didn't cook what
I would normally like the big schmortgage board. But but
but I did enough my pix are up, man, But
cooking this therapy to me. Brother, like it. Get in

(02:31):
the kitchen the one's around, you know what's bothering? You
could be creative. I mean, I'm a creator. You know
I'm saying I'm creative. You know I'm an artist and
everything I do when you're in the kitchen, it's the
same thing.

Speaker 4 (02:39):
I'm I'm like the complete opposite. Because my wife's up
in Vermont right now, so she left me some stuff.
I didn't even want to heat up the scalop potatoes.

Speaker 2 (02:48):
I'm like, I do.

Speaker 4 (02:48):
I really want to put it in the microwave. That's
such a process for me. I like, I'll just starve
to death.

Speaker 2 (02:55):
Now. Now what type of scalop potatoes? Are they? Cheese?
Are they garlic? Scallop potatoes? They can hit or miss?
Like when and when they hit though, scali potato fantastic
when they Yeah.

Speaker 4 (03:07):
Yeah, there's no doubt about that. You know, my Thanksgiving
very uneventful. But we'll go through it later on, and
you know what I want to get from you later
on too. That's just blowing up on social media. I
don't know if you heard what Erin Andrews said about
working holidays and how she works on people are ripping

(03:28):
about that, like everybody pumped breaks for crying out loud
and people getting just absolutely crazy. But look, we want
to thank all the listeners. You know, I guess most
of them. Everybody's pretty much eating. Well, it's ten o'clock Eastern.
I don't know if people eat. Some people eat laid
on me on the West coast. But we do appreciate

(03:48):
you joining us on this Thanksgiving. And it used to
be back in the day VJ. And I'm not just
talking the five years were you know, you and I
have done the show. I'm talking like ten twenty years ago.
I think there's only like one game on Thanksgiving and
there wasn't all a heck of a lot going on,
and people really want to work the holidays and really

(04:09):
kind of a lack of stuff. But now look at it,
it's crazy.

Speaker 2 (04:12):
Look at all the sports going on right now. You know,
well it's not. I mean, you think about him Man
Hills and is on boy. I call him is on
them Boys because Tom is just one of my favorite
coaches of all time in all the sports that is
on them Boys played today. We had two NFL games
today we got we got that sree NFL G three
excuse me three or three two early played earlier one
going on currently right now as we speak, the bucket,

(04:33):
the Bengals and the Ravens. But then you got that
school down the road from Chapel Hill going against Arkansas
right now. So and you got to think about it
like this, and I know we'll get to it later,
but just a real quick piece about what she said
was My whole thing is just tell me where she lied,
tell me where she did right right. That's why his
final don't know because they don't do what we do.

(04:53):
They don't get it. Like, like you're watching the game
right now. Do you know how many employees right the
Baltimore Ravens Stadium right now? And I'm talking from people
who work there to security, to all the players, all
the coaches, all like all the assistants, all the front
like everybody is there that has to do with that game.

(05:14):
It's Thanksgiving night, like they're not. And they've been there.
They've been there for hours, way before kickoff, you know
what I'm saying. So it's what we do. We work
holidays because you want to sit home and enjoy what
we do you want to watch these games, right, Okay,
cool if you don't want to watch no games and
everything's just off. And we just watched the Macy's Day
Parade right here, and we just watch reruns of Planes, Trains,

(05:36):
and Automobiles, which is a great Thanksgiving movie. It is
a good movie. It's the best Thanksgiving movie you ever, right,
John Candy and uh uh uh and Steve Martin. But
Steve Martin, yeah, you know it's I My whole thing
was when I watched it, my first reaction was where
she lie people in uproar it is. I thought. When
I saw the headline, I clicked. I said, oh this
this is gonna be good. What theyd Aaron Andrews saying.

(05:58):
Then I watched it and it was like, uh, she's
not lying, guy, this is your career.

Speaker 3 (06:04):
Right.

Speaker 2 (06:04):
She was on a podcast, didn't you know.

Speaker 4 (06:06):
They were just talking about it, and then she said
one of her regrets and she works all the holidays,
doesn't really get to see her family. And we know
what it's about though nowadays VJ. You know, like somebody
like us, especially somebody like me on the on the
East Coast, I usually have Thanksgiving with my family, right
walking to my own studio at ten o'clock at night.

Speaker 2 (06:25):
Pretty much everybody is asleep.

Speaker 4 (06:27):
I mean, you're all trip to fans out and you're
you're going to bed unless you're watch.

Speaker 2 (06:32):
The Wee game. It is yeah, you're you're, yeah, you're
you're dozing off watching. Half the families are sleep all
sofas right now with this game on, So we get
the best of both worlds.

Speaker 4 (06:41):
We get to have, you know, dinner with our family
and then go on and do the show. So I
know where she's coming from, though she she doesn't have
that option.

Speaker 2 (06:49):
I mean, look at Chris Collinsworth.

Speaker 4 (06:51):
He's he's taking the weekend off or this this Thursday
off because.

Speaker 2 (06:56):
You know, he wanted to be with his family and night.
So he's probablysdays. So that's that's my that's my thing.
I'm pretty sure he's put in enough Thursdays if we
go back and look at all the Thursday night games
that he's called, probably one hundreds in a row. I
think he deserves at this point when you do get
a little older and you don't and you do want
to spend time with your family for certain holidays, if

(07:19):
you've done sixty of these games five hundred. He's done
five hundred. No, I'm serious, that was the five hundred games.
That just the uh he gets celebration the other day,
he gets it. He gets the opportunity to say, Hey,
this Thanksgiving in my I'm assuming he's in his midleate sixties,
I'm gonna stay home with the family because I'm sure

(07:39):
the family's like, hey, you know, just you know, one
year with the grandkids or maybe great grandkids. At this point,
we can have you for this one because once you
get to that age, you probably got grand kids. If
you're in your sixties to seventies, most likely you got grandkids.
If you got kids, right, you know so, and you
might got great grandkids. If your grandkids that kid at
twenty or twenty one or twenty two, you got a
great grand baby. There. You want to you want to
have the moments, man, So I can excuse somebody for

(08:02):
when to take off. But she didn't tell anything. She
didn't tell any fans.

Speaker 4 (08:05):
No, and I will say this as we'll get ready
to talk some football. So my very first shift, the
way I broke into the business, my first show wasn't
a local show in some small market, was on a
national network but it was on Christmas even Christmas midnight
to six, And if anybody ever wants to get into
this business, those are the shifts you break in on

(08:28):
Thanksgiving Christmas Eve. It was the overnight shift, and I
had no idea what I was doing. But back then
it was a whole different story of VJ. And that
was from that point on, I always had a job,
So I always was very thankful that I got to
do Christmas even Christmas, even though nobody wanted to do
that overnight.

Speaker 2 (08:48):
That's probably the worst shift you could do, you know
what I mean, it was horrible. Over the last I
would say maybe seven or eight years, I've worked every Thanksgiving,
every Black Friday, every Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year Zeve,
New Year's Day, Fourth of July, Memorial, Easter or Easter Sunday.
I've done like the last four Easter Sundays. Because you know,
the people that are more seasoned in this business been

(09:11):
around a little longer there, to the point where like
Chris collins Worth, Hey, I kind of want to just
chill with my family on Easter Sunday. You get a
call to do ten to twelve right at am. Okay, Yeah,
there suggests it's two hours, show, three hours or whatever.
But you you're not with your family, united church, you're
not at dinner, if you're doing the afternoon time slots.
It just it is what it is. But like you said,

(09:32):
when you first break into this business, the one word
that cannot be in your vocabulary is no or I
can't or I can't know if you get the text
or email or whatever hey want to fill in on
Christmas Eve from seven to eleven. So yeah, yeah, you're
you're home before midnight. By then the kids should be
sleep anyway. Yeah, you know, to dress up is the
gren should come in, instill the presence and scared the kids.

(09:54):
But which I really want to do this year. But
I really want to do that to my kids. But
they need to learn a lesson. You learn a lesson man,
no fear right only only personal spear is God. But yeah,
and when you break it too this business, like you said,
it's you know you, you take the crumbs. My first
high school game I ever called, I got paid fifty dollars,
Like real, there you go, that's a lot of money back.

(10:14):
I drove, I drove two hours to call it a
high school game because someone asked, Hey, somebody dropped out leak.
You want to call a high school game? Hell yeah,
He's like, yeah, it pays fifty bucks it dude, that
don't matter. Where's the game? Like, where's the game? Give
me the address? What time I got to be there?
And you know you go from there.

Speaker 4 (10:30):
That we always say the best ability is availability there
you go.

Speaker 2 (10:35):
So, uh, we.

Speaker 4 (10:36):
Welcome everybody out this Thanksgiving. Hope everybody is enjoying it.
Even if you're by yourself, let us keep you company.
We know a lot of people can't be with their
families tonight because maybe they're on the other part of
the country. You couldn't travel, or you had to work,
or maybe you're on your way home. So we do
appreciate yeah, hanging out with us. So there was a
lot of sports going on, as you mentioned VJ three

(10:57):
games going on. One game is at the half, Angles
lead the Ravens twelve to seven. Obviously, will keep you
updated on the second half. But I want to get
right to the meat and potatoes, because the Cowboys beat
the Kansas City Chiefs thirty one twenty eight. The Cowboys
offense just keeps getting better and better. I mean, if
Dak Prescott was on a better team, we'd be talking to.

Speaker 2 (11:18):
Them as a possible MVP.

Speaker 4 (11:20):
He's putting up some big numbers, but unfortunately I don't
think the Cowboys, well, they're making a Latin spit of run.
The Kansas City Chiefs don't VJ. It is o v
er for them, no playoffs, they're done. I wonder if
that's a good thing or a bad thing. Are you happy,
because there's a pretty big sediment of anti Kansas City

(11:43):
Chiefs right now, But it can't be a good thing
for the NFL that Patrick Mahomes won't be in the playoffs.

Speaker 2 (11:49):
But I think it's over for them. What do you think?
I'm not sure. The only thing is just logically, I
look at the three to four teams in front of them,
and they've lost to three of those teams. So essentially,
after losing today, they're three and a half. After this
Sunday can be four games back and then it's six
and six. I would say, Okay, cancel Christmas, take the

(12:11):
toys back. Santa Claus is not coming. It's like, it's
really like real talk, it's over. I don't know if
I'm I'm not happy about it. I'm only happy, like
when the rival team of my favorite team doesn't make
it or something. I've never had a thing against the
Kansas City Chiefs. I think this is great for the
NFL because the NFL does preach parody every single year.
And even though we've had runs of the Niners and

(12:32):
the Steelers and the Packers back in the seventies, eighties
and nineties with the Cowboys, and then you had a
run with the Patriots for fifteen twenty years, and you
sprinkling Colts and Big Ben and Pittsburgh and Aaron Rodgers
of Green Bay, and like, it's okay, if it's not
Pat Mahomes in the Super Bowl this year, we're gonna
see we can possibly see a different representative other than

(12:52):
Pat Mahomes and Joe Burrow, which I believe is the
last six AFC appearances for quarterbacks, if I'm not mistaken,
those have been the MC quarterbacks as far as the
Super Bowls concerned, we now know it could be you know,
another quarter It could be Drake may Right, it could
be bow Nicks. It could be one of these teams
in the AMC that's playing really well right now. Still

(13:13):
a lot of football to play, Still a lot to
play out. Injuries pop up and happen, and the ball
bounces funny as why it is oblong and not round.
So man, they could be done. I'm not just sure
if I go there, because these things in front of
them can fall off. But I don't know. If four
teams are gonna do it, they would have to overcome
a lot. They go six and seven. I will join

(13:33):
your bandwagon if they're done, and I'll shut the door
right now. Let's see. Let's see how this weekend plays out. Right,
Let's see how this weekend plays out, and we go
from there. Isn't this though a year coming?

Speaker 4 (13:43):
Because last year the Kansas City Chiefs twelve and zero
in one score games. You know, if we flip the
cord and you won ten times in a row, eventually
you're gonna be lucky. And you know you're gonna be
lucky because it's still fifty to fifty on each coin flip.
But you'd be saying yourself a blow lucky, you know what.
That's just the way it is. Let's face it. The

(14:04):
Chiefs had to say to themselves last year they were
lucky when you go twelve and oh, and I know
you think that you're probably skilled and you can pull
it out of the game. But this year one in
five in one score games and caught up to them VJ. Right,
I mean, this is gonna happen to them last year
at least, you know, they could have lost a couple
of games and the whole thing could have been different.

Speaker 2 (14:23):
But it's finally caught up to them this year, and
it has. And that's see, that's the great thing about
football is because the variables aren't sustainable, right, Like, like
you said, those one score wins, that streak, it's you're
not gonna be able to do that for long. It's
like not being able to stop the run. But you
could score a lot of points, so you win a
lot of thirty eight, thirty four, thirty one to twenty eight.
But sooner or later it's gonna catch up to you.

(14:45):
Because that's just the way football works out. Now, what
you're good at and what you're just you know, stable,
that's the meat and potatoes, the beef of football. Protecting
a passer, rushing the passer, running the ball, stopping the ball,
and not come in in stupid penalties. And you hope
the injury bug doesn't run through your locker room before Halloween, right,
if you can get that far and then up to Thanksgiving,
you're golden. If you're that far at that point, ie,

(15:07):
nine to two teams right now, there's three of them
are four minute league, you'll be okay. But when you
live and die by the three, like in basketball, right
when you live and die by the three, sooner or later,
if you ever have a night where the ball doesn't
go in from twenty six twenty seven to twenty eight feet,
you're gonna lose that game. And it could be a
Game seven, It could be a swing Game five if
a serious is tied at two to two, which we

(15:29):
know is like seventy eight percent of teams to two
that wins Game five going to win the series. So
it just never was gonna be sustainable. But see the
thing about the Chiefs is they got one five man,
They got one five and they got Andy Reid. Now
I know they don't have all the pieces they used
to have. Spags's defense is still really good. But as
you mentioned, Dallas is just Dak Prescott is having a

(15:52):
great year, unbelievable. If they and I'm gonna tell you something,
they look great now after those trades. When they traded Micah,
people just shot that down like their seasons. Oh we
were allowed, feel like it was a common laughing. But
then you know, and I don't know how long it
will last. But you bring against run stoppers, run stoppers
in the middle, you fix up that defensive line they hold.
Say Kwon Barkley was in ten carries twenty two yards

(16:13):
or something like that. Philly wouldn't even run the ball, like,
they wouldn't even call a run play because you couldn't
get it done. And the Chiefs couldn't really run the ball,
you know, just blast them and push them around. Today.
So with the way Dak's playing, throwing up thirty thirty
five to forty likes, let me think about it, they
tied the game with his squart over forty points right
the game against the Packers. They can score if they
if they can just stop and hold people, and Pat

(16:37):
Mahome shows his greatness today four touchdown passes puts up
twenty eight points and they lose. If you told me
today before the game that Pat Mahomes would throw four
touchdown passes and they would lose, exactly, there was a
bet on that you would have took it, you would
have took the opposite side of the bed. Dallas number
nine seed.

Speaker 4 (16:53):
Right now, they have the same losses with Detroit, but
Detroit seven and five Dollas six, five and one. With
the tie there, they're both chasing San Francisco. I don't
have the schedule for the forty nine ers. We'll try
to pull that up because I know the forty nine ers.
Their next two games are absolutely easy. Matter of fact,
they have at Cleveland and then the Titans before they're

(17:15):
at the Colts, and then they finish up with Chicago
and Seattle. So it's gonna be somewhat tough, you know,
for Dallas to get into the playoffs spot not all impossible,
though certainly a lot better percentage than the Kansas City Chiefs.
I would love to see Dallas sneak got in and
see if they make any noise this year more than ever.

(17:37):
It's so wide open in either side, AMC and NFC.
Maybe the Rams and the Eagles stick out above everybody else, right,
everything else is a big mix up there. What do
you think about Dallas? Can they make that run at
seventh seed or is it too little too late?

Speaker 2 (17:51):
No, No, it's not too little, too late, because at
number one, they have no one offense in football. Okay,
they're putting almost four hundred yards a game, and they're
at Detroit. We saw Detroit. In my opinion, Quick Sidebar
is the most disappointing team in the twenty twenty five
season going into this year, where we thought, well, Dan
Campbell's calling plays, like that's a problem. I know, I
know it looks good. I know he's Corgy and I

(18:13):
like Dan Campbell. But Dan Campbell is now calling the plays.
And they got really their coordinator. And I never was
a really big coordinator guy untill about a year and
a half ago. I've got somebody kind of be coordinator
into my brain and I'm like, you know what, Wow,
when you go through and you do look at teams
that lose their coordinator, you can still have weapons. And
look they're still seven to five, right, They're not, you know,
they're not one and eleven. But the head coach has

(18:34):
to take over play calling duty. So I think that
could be a dub that's on Thursday night, a week
from night. Then they have Minnesota there. I think JJ
probably should sit the rest of the year. It just
doesn't look good. It's not working out this year. It
is essentially his rookie year. But that's my guy. Love
him to death, but just being real, he's out with
the kacussion protocol. They got a backup that's going to
be ready to go. I think Dallas gets that with
a home the Chargers, both tackles are down, they're fighting injuries.

(18:56):
They will show up and fighting that game because that's
what hardball's gonna bring. But you know, I think they
can get that one Washington and then the Giants, like
they could run the table for they could run the
table and like the rest of these games, they finish out.
Man two won the row to finish two division games.
But watching the Giants, you know, week seventeen, Week eighteen,
you know, I would probably take Dallas. I think they'll
be favored in the rest of their games other maybe

(19:18):
the Detroit game not, but the rest of games they'll
be favored.

Speaker 4 (19:21):

and his best friend Mike Harmon, all right here on
Fox Sports Radio. Hope everybody had a great Thanksgiving out there.
We certainly do appreciate you tuning on in. I know, uh,

(20:43):
sometimes holidays can be difficult for people. So if you're alone,
you want to go ahead and tweet at us. It's
real simple. I haven't given this uff out enough at
Big Vanilla Funny. I'm a stinking genius one, and you
can tell us where you're listening to us, how you're
listening to us if you're working on this Thanksgiving was

(21:06):
We did talk about Aaron Andrews earlier at our number
one VJ because she was working on Thanksgiving. But we
work all the holidays. Like you said, you work Thanksgiving
Christmas Eve, Chris, But you know what, we don't work
Christmas Eve anymore because the boss we run the best
of now on Christmas even nobody has to work. Everybody

(21:29):
gets the night off. So we started doing that the
last couple of years. So the boss didn't want anybody
working on Christmas Eve, so we do the best of
it at that point.

Speaker 2 (21:38):
So yeah, the later shows are are not running at
that point. Everybody's home with their families and stuff, and
that's that's cool.

Speaker 5 (21:45):
Now.

Speaker 2 (21:45):
When I was in sales, I definitely was working, especially
when I was like in retail as a store manager
for Verizon. Ye, you work Christmas Eve till about seven
whatever time tomorrow. Yeah, till like o'clock, eight o'clock. It's
still get because in their mind, hey, you still get
time to go home and make milk and cookies and
watch and watch National opools, Christmas vacation or bass staying

(22:06):
or one of those awesome Chrystmas l for some my
home alone and sit with the kids and rap gifts
and all that stuff. You still got time to do that.
You got four hours. But until eight o'clock you belong
to me. And today was weird because I was, like
I said, I was gonna go to a family's house
down in LA and I really wanted to go. I've
spent so many things givings over the last four years alone. Yeah,
I'm always by myself on these holidays, and this year

(22:28):
and I told him, I said, I just I honestly
just want to be around some people. Man. I just
want to be in a living room on a sofar.
I still got to be this studio and to do
the show, but during the early earlier part of the day,
I really wanted to just be around some people, bro
and then eat some food and talk some trash and
watch football and watch my kids run around with their
cousins and stuff like that. And then that went south
at the last minute, and like I said, it turn

(22:49):
around on the damn highway and go home and sit
and wait until it's time to come in. So, uh yeah,
working is cool. I liked I like working at night
because at least during the day you could still see
your family. Like Chris this day, you can work earlier
in the day. You can do an early show and
still being even be home by one pm. You know,
Christmas is done mostly by the attersoon and you're done.

(23:10):
We're done with right exactly. Christmas is the morning thing. Anyway,
by ten am, you're picking a wrapping paper on the floor,
trying to figure out why you didn't buy enough batteries
for all the toys he bought your kid.

Speaker 4 (23:23):
We who want to know where you're listening to us,
how you're listening to us, and if you're working. As
Aaron Andrews said on this Thanksgiving I bet you if
you're driv an uber tonight, you're probably making a lot
of money tonight VJ. You probably get like extra high
value fares and everybody probably you.

Speaker 2 (23:39):
Know, drinking so they don't want to drive out there.
No oh no, ubers and lifts and everybody. If you listen,
if there's some money to make the night, there are
people making money, man, That's just the way it is.
Convenience stores are open, gas stations are open, right, like,
there's there are It's not just people in the entertainment business.
There are people who work during the holidays. They don't
know what it's like. Just like there's people who don't know.

(24:00):
I would just like to have a Saturday off, right.
There are people who work every Saturday and maybe they're
off days like Tuesday and Wednesday. They don't know what
it's like, right, you know, Yeah, you don't know what
it's like to have a Saturday off. You've worked Saturdays
for twenty years. You don't know. If you're a bartender,
are you working a club, are you working at a restaurant?
How many Saturdays you think you're getting off? You're not right,
And you're working nights too, right, exactly, you're off Tuesdays

(24:22):
and Thursdays. Those are your two days off. We are
in the industry, and I've been in that industry, so
I know it. So it's not just holidays, man. Everybody
just thinks nine to five money through Friday. No, the
world keeps going and there needs to be people around
working period.

Speaker 4 (24:38):
By the way, real quick, because I said that you
are the best cook the begs us to be the
best chef yes at Fox Sports Radio by far. I
know you didn't have a chance to cook everything up,
but usually, what does VJ have cooking up for Thanksgiving?
Because I know you could make great side dishes and
you're a big I don't know if you're a Friday
turkey guy or an oven turkey guy or stuffing in

(25:00):
the turkey guy out on you told me, what what
is VJ all for? Three?

Speaker 2 (25:04):
What what's VJ cooking up for thanks Giving? Well, first
of all, I grill the turkey every year. Okay, yeah,
I grill it, man, because that is different. Man, as
long as you brime me, you gotta brie it. First.
Got to make sure you brime it at least for
four to six hours that way it doesn't dry out.
And wrap it and foil, then unwrap it and finish
it off. Get the meal, put the little crisp on it.
Let the flame and the charcoal and the coles given.

(25:24):
Give it that grill Oh yeah good, oh yeah, give
it that grill taste. This year was the first year
I ever made a ham. I've never made a hand
before because I was always afraid to because you can
really mess a ham up. I was always afraid to
mess make a hamd because you can really mess a
hand up to no man, have you seen that line?
Hell no, hell no man, quick sidebar anybody y'all crazy

(25:48):
as hell? You guys are some some some gangsters people
who order from Honey Baked ham and go stand in
line mad because you they told you to come at ten. Real,
do you really think your hair was gonna be ready
to tend? It's like seven hundred people house. I'm like,
oh my god, y'all some gangsters. Man. I would never
never do that. So in the Boston markets, no, no, no, no,

(26:10):
I'm not ordering the turkey from anywhere. That's just that's
lazy to me. Collar green is always on the side, man,
but mac and cheese. And this is my second straight
year of making dressing. I was always afraid of making
You call it dressing, guy called stuff because no, no,
it's just two different things dressing. Okay, So the corn
bread dressing is different than stuffing. Stuffing is pieces of bread.

(26:31):
Corn bread dressing. His corn bread baked and you let
it cool down and then you crumble it up and
then you add in all your your you know, your
regino your time, your sage. I like a little offspice
in mine, a little Kanye pepper to give it a
little little brown sugar. So the sweetness comes and cools
the kickoff when you're eating it. Celery dicelery and dice
onions and dice scarlet. Yeah, boom. Some you get some

(26:52):
some chicken broth or some vegie broth going on it.
Throw some egg in it so there's a dry out
cover foil. That's how you do. It's My wife went
to the mark.

Speaker 4 (27:00):
She was gonna make me something, but she didn't have time,
so she just bought me, like, oh, I have to
do stick to the Leverridge Farm.

Speaker 2 (27:07):
Yeah, something like that. And I ate the whole thing
that I got sick.

Speaker 4 (27:11):
I'm like I can't eat like I go like like
I like stuff thing, but I like when it's homemade.
It was just it wasn't good. It was making me sick.
And I was thinking to you, I'm like, I bet
your Vjy's eating.

Speaker 2 (27:23):
My corn bread stuff. It came out great this year, man.
And then uh, you know, cranberry, I'm a big cranberry
sauce guy. You are big cranberry. It's the only day
a year I eat it. I don't eat cranberry sauce
any other time of the year at all, other than
about a three day period during Danksgiving, I don't have
it any other time of the year. It goes great
on your fork with a piece of turkey and a

(27:43):
little scoop of stuff in and you put a little
piece of cranberry sauce on the top of it. Eat
that to get man, you eat that together. Don't don't
have a little chicken gravy dripping off of it too.
If you got that going, you are going to be
koma tost all my sofa if you come over to
my crib man. So uh you know, yam, she gotta
you gotta do all that and stuff. Man, it's the
same food, But once again, I'll cooking with love, And

(28:03):
it's more about being around your peoples that you don't
see all the time. You know who cares about the food? Man,
it's your cousin you ain't seen in a minute, or
your auntie you ain't seen in a minute. Are you know?
A homeboy hit you up in town till him come
through and grabble play y'all sit around and have a
shot in tequila and watch the game. You know what
I'm saying reminists a little bit Holidays. To me, it's
less and less as you get older. And I think
you'll agree it's about the food as you get older,

(28:25):
it's more about the people, right, No.

Speaker 4 (28:27):
One hundred percent. And some people, like I said, are working.
Some people don't have families. Some people like Colin tweeted
and said, hey he's a bachelor at homeless. Thing on.

Speaker 2 (28:35):
iHeart from a grand Prairie Alberta.

Speaker 4 (28:39):
I may be Canadian by they celebrity Thanksgiving like an American.
One of the best weekends of the football season. There's
no doubt about that. It has been an absolutely tremendous States.
It's gonna be a tremendous weekend. I think Cincinnati just
got the field goal. Let me double check. It was
twenty six fourteen, now twenty nine to fourteen in the

(29:00):
Bengals big turnover by Lamar Jackson right on c Just
like I said, you want to apologize real quick, j.

Speaker 2 (29:09):
You just want to stick with that because the ball
it was a tip ball. It was that was bad luck.
It was a tip ball. It was a great play.
How about this, how about we just give credit to
the defender who followed his keys. And when you see
a quarterback about to throw you put your hands up
and leap, you just go straight up and try to
block it. How about we just give him credit for
sticking to his keystick was fundamentals and making a play

(29:30):
and the defensive back could have dropped it. You know,
he did his job. Man, I can't put that one
all them a just it just looks bad because now
they're able to go down the field get another field
goal out of it. So now you're you're down fifteen.
So now you need a touchdown and another time you
need two touchdowns and one two point conversion. They even
make this thing interesting.

Speaker 4 (29:48):
You know, you're at home, you're losing to a team
that's three and eight, and I know Joe Burrow's come back,
but I mean, did you you know, did you really
think he was going to be sharp? He's already throwing
the ball like forty five times. Who would have thought
in his game he'd be slinging it up there like that.
And now the Bengals put up the twenty nine points,
the defense come alive. You have to wonder where Cincinnati
would be had not Joe Burrow got injured at the

(30:10):
beginning of the season.

Speaker 2 (30:11):
Yeah, but that's the that's the biggest what if about
the Bengals is it always seems to revolve around you
gotta wonder, man, if Joe Burrow was around, because now
this is his third year of missing significant time with
an injury, and he's twenty three or forty six, two
fifty eight two touches. There's only been sacked one, so
they can't get to him right, and they've only run

(30:31):
the ball twenty three times, so they basically have said, hey, man,
go get this one for us. They Chase Brown eleven
carries forty yards, no touchdown. His long yards run so
night to night so far as twelve yards. So the
coaching staff basically went to Borrow, oh Burrow, who seems
to be quite the alphas, like, hey, man, put the
ball in my hand tonight. I'm back, Like, put the
ball in my hand tonight. Let me go get this
one for you guys, and listen, if they run the

(30:51):
table and finish at nine and eight in Baltimore and Pittsburgh,
have the bottom fall out and finish at eight to nine,
and they somehow do come back and win this division.
How dangerous would that team be going into the playoff.
They would have to go on or they have a
home game because they would win the division, so they'd
have a home wild card game. You don't want to
go in there and play them, and Burrow would be

(31:12):
on a roll at that point. That's a long way away,
that's six wins from now. But you look at Burrow
back tonight and you say, hey, you have to think
where would they be if he'd have been there. I
think he has to say, well, he's there now, so
maybe we could talk about what can they do now
that he's back. Chase the night two seven for one ten.
You know, don't agree with what happened and what he did,

(31:32):
but fourteen targets. So Joe Burrow knows who throw the
ball to tonight. I didn't think he'd.

Speaker 4 (31:37):
Come back, and look as sharp, I didn't think he'd
come back until the ball forty five times and you're right,
there's no way they would be three to eight had
Joe Burrow been around. Yeah, I forgot it was what
in week two's that would have happened week two or
very early in the year.

Speaker 2 (31:50):
I mean, that was crazy.

Speaker 4 (31:51):
He hasn't played in like nine weeks, ten weeks, and look,
we're in the position they're in right now. You know,
I might not even have brought him back because I
don't think they're gonna be able to make the play.

Speaker 2 (32:02):
Well, here's the thing to already look at some of
their games, right, they should have beat New England. They
also that game twenty six to twenty that was a
loss forty seven forty two to Chicago. Right, they're they're
in the game thirty nine to thirty eight to them
bum ass Jets. Like they they've been in these games. Man,
they they've been thirty seven to twenty four. Remember they
were in that game. No, no, I'm sorry, No, they
got blown out of that game against Detroit. But these

(32:23):
other games that I mentioned, they're in these games, you
know what I'm saying, Like they're in these games. They
have a chance to win with Uncle Flacco back there.
They have to being traded from Cleveland, so they've had
a shot. They could easily be five and six right now.
They don't have to be where they are. But when
you don't have your quarterback, you're gonna lose some of
those games. That the Patriot game was just like Wow,

(32:47):
Patriots were just stiming in the second half. They just
couldn't score at all. Their defense did their job in
the second half and held the Patriots to like one
touchdown I believe in the second half of that game.
Still to score.

Speaker 4 (32:57):
Game though, twenty nine to fourteen, about nine minute their
nine minutes left. Now we'll see if Baltimore can go
ahead and pull pull back to the comeback and see
if they're gonna tie this thing up or maybe go
for two points each time. We'll see how that works out. Now,
you watched the Kansas City Dallas game. I watched the
Kansas City Dallas game. Did forty nine million, nine hundred

(33:19):
and ninety nine hundred and ninety eight million people. Other
people did because they were saying fifty million people, which
would break a record for a regular season NFL game.
I believe it could possibly tune in now they did have.
It was a fourteen to seven game at the end
of the first three point game at half times seventeen
fourteen in favor of the Cowboys, twenty five points scored

(33:41):
in the fourth quarter, one score game going into the
fourth quarter. All that is a recipe for people to
stay through, stay tuned. The whole entire game, especially with
all the scoring in the fourth quarter. They may come
close to get that fifty million. That'd be absolutely incredible.
It just goes to show you that football Thanksgivings all

(34:04):
about Turkey and football. That'd be crazy if they got
fifty million VJ unbelievable.

Speaker 2 (34:09):
Yeah, I heard that. I think they said it would
give a CBS a seven percent spike too, as far
as as far as the biggest game that they've ever
they've ever had, So I would love to see where
that number is. It probably will hit it about forty
to forty five. If I see fifty out, that'll be
But you are talking to Cowboys. It's Thanksgiving, it's the
it's the middle game. It was close, period. It was Oh,

(34:31):
it was a great football game. It was a good
fourth quarter. Everything that's it's a blowout.

Speaker 4 (34:36):
People tune on out if it was like twenty one
nothing in the Cowboy Philadelphia game like it was even
though they came back, still some people tuned out. You
didn't tune out of this is what it was close
to the entire way.

Speaker 2 (34:47):
Hey, listen, you said it earlier. You think Kansas City's done.
So this essentially today for both teams. Dallas is in
favorite because they got that one under the te right,
there's a five a five and that one that one
could hell with tie breakers down the line, how things
shake up, especially if they were to go on a
run and something was to happen, let's say against Green Bay.

(35:09):
Who oh yeah, that's right. Forty to forty two? Was
it Monday night or Sunday football? Those guys tired. So
you definitely can see the intensity today. You could see
the lock in I mean everybody. And there were no
cheap shots that it was hard played football. It was
that was grown ass men against another set of grown
ass men out there playing very official. You didn't see

(35:31):
a lot of a lot of mistakes. You didn't see
a lot of carelessness. My boy drop Seas is still
dropping balls, though I've been saying that for since he
got to the NFL. I'm gonna keep calling him drop
Seats until he doesn't have five, six seven drops the
season like he does going into every by this time
every season. But he stepped up and made some places,
and hey, listen, let's give some some props to Pickings.
Let's give some props to that oh absolute, let's do

(35:53):
what's talking about how he has now revived his career.
Dallas is gonna pay him in the offseason. They have
no choice but to pay him. But sometimes aren't happy
or dark Prescott or or a CD.

Speaker 4 (36:05):
LAMB, you tell me Dak Prescott, Lams got to be
pretty happy to about it, Lamb.

Speaker 2 (36:12):
He doesn't strike me as a team guy. Just one
A one hold on, I'm not sure Pickens is the one? B.
I'm yeah maybe right about that. Yeah, I'm not sure.
I'm why see why share you right? Right? Why CD?
Why CD? One? Like listen if this off season there

(36:35):
was a decision to be made there and so when
a'sked me, yeah, get trade Piggins or tray said tray City,
tray City. Pickens just seems more locked in. He just
seems like this is he knows this was his second
chance and it might be his last. Remember, anybody stands
for what would Jerry Glanville tell that one official NFL
films A NFL films back in the day stands for

(36:59):
not for long? When you're when you're when you're doing
bleep like that? And Pickts knows when he got traded
out of Pittsburgh this was gonna be his shot, and
to me, he has done nothing but stand up and
stand tall. And every time Dak needs a big, big throw,
big throws, yeah CD. But when they just need like
a big, big play, Pickens has a better catch radius,

(37:19):
so you could just get just get it in his
area and let big boy go do what big boys do,
the catch balls for a living.

Speaker 4 (37:25):
No, and you know, like you mentioned earlier and now
were number one, we were laughing when they traded Micah,
nobody's laughing now, right A. Whether would they have been
in a better position had they kept Parsons or really
wouldn't have made a difference at all?

Speaker 2 (37:37):
What do you think? Well, I do have to stand
on my word. I thought a year and a half
ago I said on Fox Sports Radio I would have
signed Parsons before I signed CD. And if they didn't
sign Parsons, I made a prediction that Parsons are gonna
win out want to trade, And that's exactly what happened.
I set it on it and he put good today.
By the way, right, No, he listened, he's bawling in

(37:57):
Green Bays. Let's stop that. He's he's fit right it.
It took a little bit. Remember when he first got there.
He was getting to the quarterback, but he couldn't really
finish the sacks like he couldn't just finished the plays.
I think he was overdoing it, man. I think he
wanted to show the world, show people know I'm still
that guy. I'm still Michael Parsons. They gave him the deal,
they gave his money, so he's solidified there, right, He's

(38:18):
gonna be there the next four or five years. He's
not going anywhere. But once he kind of got settled
in it, he is wrecking shopping. It's almost like watching
Hutcheson play for the lines every down. That guy's doing
something to disrupt what your offensive scheme is for this play.
So I think it worked out for both. So I'm
not gonna I'm gonna not gonna be smirched either side.

(38:38):
But I still would have paid Micah first before I
played CD.

Speaker 4 (38:44):
Jerry, I think took that personally too with Micah, you
know what I mean. I think they both let me rephrase,
I think they both took a picture.

Speaker 2 (38:50):
Both of them did.

Speaker 4 (38:51):
Matter of fact, there was a rumor, I don't know
if it's a true story that Micah called Jerry personally
before it was supposed.

Speaker 2 (38:58):
To be finalized for him to go to green Bay.

Speaker 4 (39:00):
He heard it was green Bay, and Jerry said, I
forget the way he phrased it, but Jerry said that
then you better.

Speaker 2 (39:07):
Go to green Bay. Right, he went to Green Bay.
There's a lot of egos and pro sports. These are
grown men, all rich, all want to be alpha, all
want to be the man. Yeah, you got some team
guys and egos or just what you want deserves you
know you want to be I know, let's let's just
be about life.

Speaker 4 (39:24):
Man.

Speaker 2 (39:24):
They're just is egos. Not saying that's a bad thing,
but listen, better, you better have a little bit of
a damn ego if you're a pro athlete. Bro, you can't.
Everybody can't be the quiet guard or the quiet center. Right.
Sometimes you gotta the oil. The squeaky wheel gets the oil.
Like that's serious, bro, Like I'm Michael Parsons, I change games,
pay me like that. It's as simple as that. And

(39:46):
this is a short shelf life for NFL players. I'm
never be smirched any NFL player for saying, give me
what I've earned or given I'm up next. I say
this about quarterbacks all the time. I don't want to.
He always number one, He's never I don't care. That's
not how this goes. Who's next? Okay, he's gonna get paid.
Whether it was Party, whether it was Tool, whether it
was Herbert, whether it was Burrow, whether it was Herbert's

(40:07):
I could, They're all gonna get paid. Deck's making sixty.
You didn't have a choice, right, right, you did have
a choice. He's up next. I never be smurts guys
for getting their brain.

Speaker 4 (40:19):
Look, it's not a great football schedule on Sunday, but
there is a quarterback we have to talk about where
contractual obligated to talk about him. That's coming up next.
VJ Husky, Arnie Spad, You're in for the Guys Night
Jason Smith and his best friend Mike Harmon right here
on Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 3 (40:38):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Jason Smith
Show with Mike Harmon weekdays at ten pm Eastern, seven
pm Pacific.

Speaker 2 (40:46):
Is us good evening, everybody.

Speaker 4 (40:48):
VJ Husky, Arnie span You're in for the Turkey Boys
Jason Smith and his best friend Mike Harmon right here
on Fox Sports Radio. Hope everybody had a great Thanksgiving Day.
Always one of my favorite holidays. VJ always loved that.
And with all the sports that's going on, absolutely crazy,

(41:09):
how could you not love thanks if you let me
ask you this. Sure, you're in a house full of
people on Thanksgiving Day, right, Yeah? A few people say
to hey, who's playing you go Packers Lions? And then
one of the guys says, oh, Brett Fava is in
quarterback for the Packers anymore?

Speaker 2 (41:30):
Would do you ever ever have to be around a
bunch of non sports? Never?

Speaker 4 (41:34):
Never, You've never had to be around not sports? Well,
it happens in the Super Bowl. Usually that's when everybody
comes out of the woodworks and.

Speaker 2 (41:42):
They're like, no, you just a hard core sports family. Yeah,
but sometimes you're invited to a party or something, and well,
if I'm invited to a party and they're and they're
not sports people, non times to attend they don't have
the game more right? Yeah? But most people houses I
go over to or visit or whatever, the game gotta

(42:04):
be on or listen. I'm that guy before the DVR
because I'm the DVR sports game. You guys know that
no one DVR is more sports than me. In the
radio business, not just Fox Moorts Radio there's nobody at
DVRs more than I do. Exactly that way I can
live my life because living on the West Coast is
hard man football on Sundays ten am. I'm used to
growing up on the East Coast, where it's one pm.

(42:24):
NBA game start at four pm, Like I'm a Pistons fan,
fifteen and three, first in the East. No one's talking
about that. But we'll get to that on another show
another day. But the Pistons start at four pm, Dude,
I'm at work, Like I'm at work in LA. I
can't watch basketball at yeah, but watch it at ten
thirty at night. Yes, yes, I do. That's exactly when
I want to watch it. Because I'm smart enough now

(42:45):
and I'm strategic enough. I stay off social media, okay,
which helps the mental health. Social media for a week.
Watch how your life changes, ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls.
That's listening right now? Cut people, go all right, I
can do it out, Okay. Let me see no social
media for a week. Watch how many other things you
get done in your day, which scrolling on your phone.
I did a social media fast for seven days, dude,

(43:06):
I got so much accomplished, Like two months ago in
one week. But I am the DVR king. I love
my sports. So anything I'm evolved around has to do
with sports, right, one of.

Speaker 4 (43:17):
Our people that I mean, sometimes you just meet people
that just stret into sports, you know what're either just
like no, I don't know that real.

Speaker 2 (43:23):
Well, I may meet you, but I'm not gonna hang
with you. What we got in comment. I don't want
to play Dungeons and Dragons. I don't want to watch
I don't want to watch I don't want to watch
What's what? What's the stranger things? And and uh, what
was the weird show with the dragon and the old
people with the swords back in the day? What is
one of the shows that was all? Yeah, I don't

(43:43):
watch none of that stuff. Man. I don't watch you know,
Power or anything fifty got on TV, all these TV shows, Bro,
I'm just it's not my thing, man. Sports and stuff
that makes me laugh being I'm a twenty five year
stand up comedian. Sports and things that make me laugh.

Speaker 4 (43:57):
I e.

Speaker 2 (43:57):
Comedy, if it's drama and it's you know, drug selling,
or if it's you know, you know, any type of
weird stuff. People running through the woods, squid games, dude,
I don't why I love squid games. I know I
love squid games. Come on, I know, I listen. I
know these shows are uber popular. I know millions of
people watch them. I don't watch nothing, but sports are

(44:21):
something that's gonna make me laugh quick, cybar. Did you
see Kevin Hart's new Netflix specially that just released? You know,
I'm not. Yeah, It's good. It's called Act My Age.
He literally is talking about he's forty five, and it's
all stuff that I can relate to because I'm over
forty five. Like it's funny stuff because he's telling the
truth about some of this stuff. Man, I like things
like that. If I'm not gonna watch sports, give me

(44:43):
something that feeds my mind, or give me something that's
just gonna make me laugh. You know, laughter helps lower
high blood pressure and cholesterol in stress.

Speaker 4 (44:49):
So I like, No, I've been I've been around people
that are not into sports, and they've asked questions like that.
You know, whether it was a Super Bowl party or
you know, they're just they knew the host or something
to that effect. It's always it's always funny when they
give the score, they always give it backwards.

Speaker 2 (45:05):
What's the scores it's ten to twenty one or something like.
You know what I'm talking about. They I know exactly
what you're talking I no, no, twenty one ten you
mean there you go. That's what I said.

Speaker 5 (45:18):
No, it is mighty.

Speaker 2 (45:20):
I mean you've heard that before, right, I've heard that. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
I go fron, that's funny when you hear people say that.
But you wow, you really? I mean your son is
the you know, big time hockey player. Yeah, but my
son does not pay ball Hall of Famer.

Speaker 4 (45:33):
Like, yeah, you know what so funny is my son
does not watch football on Sundays. He watches hockey and
watch out sports, college hockey. You know. He watches a
little basketball, but mostly hockey. This hockey, that hockey.

Speaker 2 (45:49):
Yeah, I bet I bet you he knows who quarterbacks
all the you know, popular power teams in the NFL.
He's not going to show up at somebody's house and go, oh,
Kansas City Chiefs their quarterback Elvis? Is it still Elvis
Girbat from Michigan?

Speaker 3 (46:04):
Right? Right?

Speaker 2 (46:04):
Right? Is it is it still Trent Green?

Speaker 4 (46:07):
No?

Speaker 2 (46:07):
Not, I get what you're saying, but I normally don't
be around people. They have to remember to Arnie. I
got a five and a four year old man, like,
I am a dad dad bro like, so mostly the
things that I that I take in once again, sports
comedy and kid cartoon shows, Dude and Mickey Mouse club House.
If I hear you're going to the movie, you're going
to the movies next month? Right, No, not at all.

(46:29):
You have to know what's coming out. I just saw
the commercial Touchbow Movies. That's showing my kids. They're too
young for that. There's a lot of subliminal grownness going on. Yeah,
maybe Bob talking about me. See I see see you're right, Bob,
because your kids are grown now. See here. No, I'm

(46:49):
not out of the loop, bro, I'm reliving all this.
I have my older daughters in their twenties, and then
I have kids for a long time, and I got
a five and a four year old, so I got
pulled back and out there for kids to watch. You
know how many channels out block on my kids tablets
on YouTube? Now Bugs Bunny is for older people, like, Yeah,
there was some symbolic stuff going on back in them
days too. Yeah. Yeah, we didn't know his kids, but

(47:12):
he looked a hold up man. He really got him
handcuffed with a ball in his mouth, with his hands
behind his back. Hold on, what is what? Why you
got the chicken? Why you got the chicken tied up
like that?

Speaker 4 (47:22):
Is?

Speaker 2 (47:22):
What's going on? Turn out? Turn it off my TV? TV?
Oh man?

Speaker 4 (47:28):
Oh yeah, so yeah, there's I mean, but I thought
you certainly would enjoy that. But we certainly appreciate people
tooting on it on this Thanksgiving Day. So much going on,
and I know you wanted to get to college also,
and I want to do that. I wanted to start
with Lane Giffin. Where is he going to end up?
And a lot of people are saying a lot of
people are saying that this is hurting his reputation the

(47:51):
way this whole thing is going down now. The people
that are backing Lane Kiffin saying this is all about
the calendar and this is the way it has to
be done. I'm not sure that the calendar and the
way it falls, and the bowl game coming on and
the Egg Bowl tomorrow and you know, all this should
have an effect on what he wants to do. But
this is the process. They're off fringing him a boatload

(48:14):
of money. It's a simple question, VJ. Do you stay
at Old Miss, Do you go to LSU, do you
go to Florida?

Speaker 2 (48:21):
And does this? Does this make him really look better?
Is this just part of business right now? I just
asked Shame to put his headset on because we just
talked about this during the commercial break. If I'm Lane Kiffin,
I'm gone and I think he's gone, that's my He's gone.
He's gone. He's not going back there. Why would you?

(48:42):
There are four jobs that are better than that job.
And you did what you were supposed to do, tour
in college, tour in the NFL. If I'm laying I'm
going back to the league, that's unfinished business. It was,
it was, It was terrible. What do you chase? What
are you chasing?

Speaker 4 (48:59):
Now?

Speaker 2 (48:59):
You think, Nah, that's what these head coaches do. You
always want to coach at the high Look what Bill
Belichick did. He dominated the NFL. There's nowhere to go,
So you don't want to be a fig fish of
the small park. I'll go down. I'll go down to
Chapel Hill and see what I can do down here.
Like Bill couldn't take another NFL job, there was nothing
left to prove. Lane has nothing left to prove. The

(49:20):
college National championship doesn't mean what it used to Ryan
Day won it last year. But what did Wody Hayes
famously say back in the nineteen sixties and seventies, You
can't claim a national championship if you don't do what
if you don't beat Michigan. They didn't beat Michigan last year.
No one even talks about Ohio State being a defending
national chair. It don't mean what it used to mean anymore. Man,

(49:43):
going back to the league redoing where you're messed up
before showing that you can elevate and coach yourself. And
I got two teams and that's why I want Shaye
to jump on on this. He disagrees. If I'm Cleveland
number one on fire, Stefanski, he's done. And Shadoor's a
young quarterback and you got Dylan Gabriel, So you got
two young guys there if you like them. I'm not

(50:03):
so sure I would do that. But Lady Kiffin has
an ego, like I just said, like all these coaches do.
I guarantee if he puts tape on both of these kids,
he sees stuff where he sits back in the dark
room and go I could change that what about the Giants?
Jackson great mind? Stig a light?

Speaker 3 (50:19):
Shae?

Speaker 2 (50:19):
What was the other team that I gave you? I
told Shaye the Giants, But I said this the Heartman.
A month ago, I said, I fire Brian Dable. Whish
they did? And I called Mississippi and say, what does
it cost? We have your quarterback here and we got
a guy like the Elk Neighbors that you win and
gets in the sec to go to You know everything
about this, you probably try to recruit him. Let me

(50:41):
let me just back up for a second here. Okay,
let's just back up for one second. We're back to Mississippi.
What do you have against the Mississippi job?

Speaker 4 (50:49):
Because he's doing why not be a big why not
be a big fish in the small He's done what
he's done there.

Speaker 2 (50:55):
Man, you could win a national championship in Mississippi. Was there.

Speaker 4 (50:57):
They could be in the playoffs. They may not, but
they have a good chance. They're probably gonna be like
the third or fourth seed.

Speaker 2 (51:04):
Whatever they are. If you get into the playoffs, you
could win it. Why leave so quickly if you enjoy it.
He's not gonna win a national championship at all. Miss Michigan,
Ohio State, Oregon SC. Now again, there's other programs, man,
that are gonna recruit better than him. They're gonna get
better play. Have the money though, it's all about the Yeah.

(51:26):
But in college, those bigger schools have bigger money. And
at the end of the day, you still have kids
who will say, Okay, maybe I won't take the two
point one million, I'll take the one point eight because
I really want to play for Michigan even though oh,
missus saying two point one it's three hundred thousand dollars difference. Man,
the kid's heart's gonna really lead him to where he
wants to play. So that money thing is plausible, but

(51:49):
it's not something that's gonna sway every kid to go
to this school. If you gave all the money to
this school, every kid's gonna go to school. Some kids
still grow up with a certain flag or emblem on
their wall in their bedroom, Arnie, and they want to
go there, and now you can get money to go there,
they'll make it happen. But the other two jobs that
are out there are Florida and LSU. And I'm like, no,

(52:09):
why you're not gonna overdo anything Urban Meyer, Steve Spurri
or Dated Florida. So you're always gonna be ranked third
or lower before below them. You can win a championship
as you're never gonna but you're never gonna be seen
better than Nick Saban or less Miles. You're never gonna
be seen better than those guys. But if you go
to the NFL.

Speaker 4 (52:27):
But why would you even go to LSU the way
they treated Kelly about the whole And I know they're
gonna give him the money now, but after.

Speaker 2 (52:33):
What I saw the last couple days, I wouldn't go there.
I don't understand why anybody is surprised that. Look how
they traded. I forget the coach with the Rascipe voice.
I always forget that guy Ojan. Look how they treated him.
He won a national championship, Look at it at him
so so to me, it was really shocking when people
were like, oh my god, look what they're doing to
Brian Kelly. Hello, did you guys not pay attention to
the way they treated the coach before? Remember when people

(52:55):
show you who they are, what do you do? Arnie
believe them?

Speaker 4 (52:58):
And she was showing it's your choice to fire somebody.
It's man it's not a choice to try to rip
somebody off their money when you know you have to
go ahead and pay it.

Speaker 2 (53:06):
Yeah, but I thought Fire or Jeron was worse than
what they're trying to do.

Speaker 4 (53:09):
But they gave him his money though at least they's
no I thought what they legally, what they're doing the
Brian Kelly is wrong because now they gotta pay him
his fifty four million. I think they're gonna gi him
what six million or eight million a year right for
the next Like these.

Speaker 2 (53:22):
Big universities don't know the word legal, Are you kidding me?
They know loopholes. That's the word. They know loopholes. Look,
I cover this stuff nowadays, man, and I'm and I'm
a veteran at this stuff. I talk to people, you
know me, Arnie, I'm a very talkative person. I'm very personable.
And I don't go to games and just sit in
the press box and make my little notes that man.
I mingle, I network, I move around. I find people
who want to talk because I got questions and I

(53:44):
want information. And I don't go blabbing my mouth on air,
go telling people, well, this guy told me this and this.
And I rarely try to use the word my sources.
I hate that. If somebody tell you something, just put
it out there. If not, just keep it to yourself.
And if someone brings it up, you could say, hey,
well you know this is what a little birdie told me.
But to come out and push that narrator like, oh
I know this, I know not, that's not my style. Man,
may they don't know nothing about legal they know about loopholes.

(54:04):
But back to Lane Kiff in another L word, Listen, man,
it didn't work in Oakland or I think, or in
Vegas or whatever it was with the Raiders. It didn't work. Fine,
that doesn't mean you don't go back and try. Everybody
wants to do this again. Man, I'm pretty sure in
our business there's so many people that got on air.

Speaker 4 (54:20):
What are you looking if you're what are you looking for?
You just said championships. Really it's not what they used
to be.

Speaker 2 (54:26):
So is it the money? The money? Can't it can't
be about the money yet, Well he said they never
took a job for money, right right?

Speaker 4 (54:32):
What nine million eight million a year? Nine million ten million?
What differences a make if you have a good financial advisor?

Speaker 2 (54:38):
So what are you looking for? VJ? What the opportunity
to compete with the best in your business, like, for instance,
let's just flip it really fast, which is what he's doing.
We do we do national radio? Correct, yes, okay, but
at one point you did local, right, yes, and then
at one point you did regional right yeah, okay, why'd
you keep going? What do you mean? Why'd you keep going?

(54:59):
Why did you just stay local? Why did you just
stay regional? Why do you want to get the national?
It's what it was, Dashel was actually my first job.
So yes, excuse me, I know, see I forgot who
I'm talking to. You're not from the bottom barrel like
my son. It's more what I wanted to do. It's
more what I liked more.

Speaker 4 (55:15):
Vj's if I enjoyed I always enjoyed national more than locome.
I worked in many local jobs, but they've always enjoyed. Right.

Speaker 2 (55:22):
But when we do national, we're competing with the best.
Right then the world is hearing us at Fox Sports Radio.
We're not just nationally, we're global. We have listeners in
other countries who tweet us. Man and I could yes,
and then if a national company call me, a network
call me and say VJ. I got a five day
a week show for you right now? Man pays this. Yeah,
I gotta go home and talk about this and pray
about it because I want to get more days. But man,

(55:45):
if it doesn't fit just to get more days to
leave National to go local, let me think about that
for hey, let me give you a call back. Can
I get a week? I got seven days on it? Okay,
I gotta go think about that. But National is where
we are. The NFL's the top, trust me, Lane Kiffin, Guys,
he wants to go back to the NFL. Nick Nick
Saban never went back to the NFL after the Miami

(56:07):
He had his two shots though. He had two shots
because he was a coordinator for the Cleveland Browns on
the Bill Belichick and with the Giants with Bill Parcels.
So then he got his shot, and it's like, Okay,
this ain't my thing. Let me go back to college,
stay there long enough. Now, let me go retire and
sit on TV and talk game Day and make a
whole bunch of millions doing that now and doing a
flat commercials with coach Let me go. Let me, let
me go do that now. But he took his two shots.

(56:27):
You always want to take that second shot and go
back Man Cleveland and the Giants. But I said the
Giants over a month ago on Hartman and Husky on
Sundays here from from ten to two on our end
Zone show, would you take Tennessee? If you're a Layne Kiffer,
then go be with camb There's another There's another, there's
another job. Hell, they finally really a coach that's not
exist such a great job. I don't know, No, No,
I just said there's another job right here. The thing,

(56:50):
I'm gonna take the word great job away from it,
ar I am, because it's just let me get back
to the NFL. Okay, let me get back to the end. Hell,
if you're good at what you do, and you got
a good ownership, and you got a good front office,
a good VP vice president Football Operations, in a good GM,
the job doesn't have to be great or a good job.
Let me ask you this. Did the Patriot joll look

(57:10):
like a great job two years ago?

Speaker 4 (57:11):
No? No, but the Jets job doesn't look good and
it hasn't been good. Cleveland's job doesn't look good. It
hasn't been good.

Speaker 2 (57:17):
You know, I think these guys have egos to where
they think they can fix anything. Like there's I just
mentioned that about looking at a quarterback, right, they're a coach.
I coach high school football. There are times I look
at kids and go, I can fix that, and here
I am just coaching high school. Man, it's in. It's
in a coach to think that you can go coach
the next level and the next level. Last year we
had a guy that used to coach our linebackers. He left.

(57:39):
Where'd he go? Steven F. Austin University? And I should like, hey, right,
And you know why he did it because it's the
next step. And he used to say, Man, I want
to go coach college now, like I've done a lot
of high school and I did ju Coll. I'm trying
to get the d one man, Like it's in us
to want to go compete with the best, and I
believe that's Lane Kiffin. He wants to go compete to
be with the best. There's gonna be jobs of vail

(58:00):
and trust me on this. So which one does he take?
Don which one would you take? If so, you think
he should go to the NFL. If I'm laying I'm
I want the Giants, I would stay right, where I
am at, old Miss, I want the Giants job. If
I'm laying I got there's my quarterbacks, there, my kids, there,
My guy's there. He's already already have my quarterback. And
you need what connection in the NFL more than anything

(58:21):
head coaching quarterback and it's all right there, I got
a number one receiver. I'm not on scatter Bowl Scottaboo.
I forgot how he says that I was always out
on him. I think he's I think he's good. He's
a glorified Peyton hill Is in my opinion. Oh wow, Yes,
he's not Mike Alstat He not John Riggo, he not
He not Larry Zanga. He ain't one of them dudes.
Right does he take does take a hit? Yeah, that's long.

(58:44):
He already already heard showing up on at wrestling events.
Come on, dog and y'all, don't nobody tell him he
got to grow up. He's injured right now, right, and
he decided to go and do a camp. He took
a lot of criticism for that. He should know he
should have. Dude, you're hurt, so that shows you where
his mind is. That's your RB one, Nah, not my

(59:06):
RB one, Not my ar not hurt. Now off week
by week you go do something like that. All right,
we sayna, please do that all the time. But you're
hurt dude, right, but you you would take that job
if you're Lane. Forgeting about the nine's job. All it's
New York and Lanc can handle New York. Lanc and
handle New York. Man. He's learned from the best. He really,
he's learned from the back. Where do you think he's

(59:27):
going to take? What do you think he's Florida? That's
what I think he's gonna do. Think he's taking a Florida. Joh,
you don't think it's I hear. I think he's taking
a Florida. Joh, Yeah, that's the job I think he's taking.
But if I'm him, I would love to see lan
Kiff and come back to the NFL and give it
another run. Go go coach your quarterback. Go to New York,
big market, big market. You got some pieces there. Hey,

(59:48):
what is the NFC East?

Speaker 4 (59:49):
Look at the reputation because Mississippi seems like they're getting
pretty bitter about the whole thing that that.

Speaker 2 (59:54):
I don't blame them, well, you know they would be
our coaches leading who's made us relevant. You're old friend
that is talking to another girl. Ye, your girlfriend's talking
to another guy. Of course, I'm of course, yeah, I dude,
I'm high. I'm in my feelings. I'm in my feelings. Like,
hold on, what's wrong with me? What is it about him?

(01:00:14):
What is it about him that's better than me?

Speaker 4 (01:00:17):
Like?

Speaker 2 (01:00:17):
No, come on, man, I think he's taking a Florida job.
It's probably more appetizing to take the Florida job over
the LSU job. Like I said, look how they look.
How they treat their coaches. Somebody's whispering that in his
ear bump the money. Look how they treat people. Man,
he's not staying at Old miss that I know for sure.
I would love to see Lane Kiffin take the New

(01:00:39):
York Giants job. Go be with your quarterback and go
give the NFL a shot again. If it doesn't work,
then you know you tried it again. Cool And let
me ask you this. He goes to the NFL gets
fired up, three years, is he done coaching?

Speaker 4 (01:00:51):
No?

Speaker 2 (01:00:51):
Absolutely not.

Speaker 4 (01:00:52):
Five colleges will come calling, of course, no doubt you're
gonna be done coaching, or.

Speaker 2 (01:00:57):
Franklin can't coach you Damn, I don't care what nobody
he says. I think it's not like you're gonna signed
him as well. I mean that's more his speed, right, Well,
whatever it is, I think he's gonna that's more his speed.
Is it a step down from Penn State? Yes, that's
all right, that's more his speed. The only reason why
we know who Vijaina Tech is is because the three

(01:01:18):
people Mike Bruce Smith, Bruce Smith, Mike Vick, and Frank Beamer.
The only reason why we know about Virginia Tech's football program.
Let's that's be true. What do we get back? There's
It's rivalry weekend? You love it?

Speaker 4 (01:01:32):
Uh, I'm kind of curious. Does does VJ know that
Michigan plays Ohio State.

Speaker 2 (01:01:36):
We're gonna get to that. That's coming up next.

Speaker 3 (01:01:39):
Uh.
