odd couple crew. Okay, we'll do that. Chris Bussard is here.
We got how are you, Chris on your.

Speaker 4 (01:54):
Little train delay. But it's all good.

Speaker 5 (01:58):
We made it. That's all all that matters. I said
you would be along momentarily, so we are there. Alex
is our engineer, Rob g of course, is our producer,
and Brian Finley is.

Speaker 1 (02:11):
At the h We've been getting a lot of beefin
I know, man.

Speaker 5 (02:19):
It's pretty amazing.

Speaker 3 (02:20):
Sometimes too much, you know what, too much.

Speaker 5 (02:22):
But yeah, you know what it might be though sometimes
maybe Moncey or Steve or somebody is paying Brian an
extra ten dollars to take the shift, you know what
I mean, like that would be happening, you know, like
they just don't want to mess with us, Chris. You
know it could be there.

Speaker 4 (02:37):
They know we bring that fire and let's get it start.

Speaker 1 (02:39):
Because I'm excited about all the topics, but in particular
this first one. Rob so last night, of course, uh,
you know, we have more NBA action and the Oklahoma
City thunder who let's give them their respect. They were
the number one seed in the Western Conference. They beat

(03:00):
up on the Dallas Mavericks so badly that at the
end of the game the reserves rent. So they've been
a bout over twenty and the night before Minnesota took
a commanding or I don't know was the night before,
but maybe two nights before, but they took a commanding
two old lead over the Denver Nuggets. And Rob, We've

(03:24):
got a lot of different, you know, things to talk
about regarding this topic, but I want to give Colin
Cowherd our friend and of course the personality of the
Herd props on this because he was talking about, are
we entering a period in the NBA, Rob where it

(03:51):
could be like the nineteen seventies, and if you remember
in the nineteen seventies, and it was the most parody
ever in the NBA.

Speaker 4 (04:05):
I believe eight teams won.

Speaker 1 (04:08):
Championships in that decade. Eight teams won championships in that decade,
and I actually know them off the top of my head,
but just it might take me a minute, but I'll
read them off. The Knicks won it ROB in nineteen seventy,
the Bucks in seventy one, led by Leu Al Sender

(04:29):
and Oscar Robertson. Of course now kream Abdul jabbar in
Oscar Robertson. The Lakers won it in seventy two. That
was the year they won thirty three straight games. It
is still an NBA record. The Knicks won it again
in seventy three, the Celtics in seventy four, the Warriors

(04:49):
led by Rick Berry in seventy five, the Celtics again
in seventy six, the Bullets, I remember that. In seventy eight,
Elvin Hayes, west unsel I, Bet Dandrich and then in
nineteen seventy nine the.

Speaker 4 (05:05):
Seattle Super Signings. I know you remember that, Rob.

Speaker 1 (05:08):
They beat the Bullets, great series, Dennis Johnson, Gus Williams
and all that, Jack Sigma, Downtown, Freddie Brown. And then
in nineteen eighty that's a new decade, but that was
the Lakers. So you had eight teams in the seventies
win it ROB. And if you look now, we haven't

(05:29):
had like the last what five champions have been.

Speaker 4 (05:34):
It's all been different teams.

Speaker 1 (05:37):
You had Toronto in twenty nineteen, the Lakers in twenty
the Bucks in twenty one, the Warriors twenty two, last year, Denver,
and if Denver doesn't win it this year and they
look like they're in big trouble right now, down oh two,
we would have six straight different champions and rob that

(05:57):
has not happened. And it's the seventies because obviously Jordan
had his run. The Lakers and the Celtics alternated championships
in the eighties.

Speaker 4 (06:09):
The Lakers then had the.

Speaker 1 (06:10):
Three peat, Spurs heat you know, Lakers like I'm looking
at Let me look into early four four you had Detroit,
San Antonio, Miami and then San Antonio won it again.
So yeah, we haven't seen this since the seventies. And
here's the question I throw out you it's two of
them rop one. Do you think we are about to

(06:31):
see that type of parody?

Speaker 4 (06:32):
It might not. I mean, we've already seen six. It
may be six in a row.

Speaker 1 (06:37):
So I guess we're already in the midst of it,
because it wasn't like ten straight years in the seventies.

Speaker 4 (06:43):
It was eight teams in the total decade.

Speaker 1 (06:46):
So do you think that's the type of run we're
in where it's parody and you're going to have a
lot of different champions, maybe no repeat champion. And secondly,
is that good for the NBA because, as we all know,
in the seventies, rob the games were on tape delay.

(07:09):
Despite having many great players Kareem Doctor J and all
these great players, George Gervin, Moses Malone, the games were
on tape delay. So what are your thoughts on those
two questions?

Speaker 5 (07:22):
First, I'm gonna say the reason the games were on
tape delay isn't because different teams were winning championships. That
league was drug infested. A lot of people were turned
off by the NBA in the seventies, and the ratings
weren't good, and CBS it was about the ratings not
being good and that was the reason why they just
decided that. That was the reason they decided not all

(07:45):
the games were on tape to lay. I think nine
of the seventeen I.

Speaker 4 (07:47):
Think a lot of it was racial.

Speaker 5 (07:50):
Okay, it could have been, but I'm.

Speaker 1 (07:51):
Just saying that you said the league was that's when
the league became overwhelmingly black. Yeah, and this was the seventies,
so you know it was a different time period.

Speaker 5 (08:00):
It was just h yeah, the league. I just I
just remember a lot of issues with the league and
all the stuff that was going on. But anyway, you know,
parody can be good and you and I think I
think parody is good from this standpoint, Chris, Uh, you
want to mix it around. You don't want it to

(08:20):
be the same teams over and over. But that doesn't
mean you can exclude a Every once in a while,
you'll have a dynasty. Dynasties are good every once in
a while where you have a really great team that
wins and and they're put together right and and you go, wow,
they really you know, had a great team and a
great run. But most of the time you would like

(08:42):
for more teams to be included and involved. I think
it makes it better for the league where other teams
don't feel like it's just the same two or three
teams every year. And I've seen this and kind of
tired of it. So the NBA has a very interesting now.
Now if somebody comes along, Chris, and is it Minnesota
or if it's okay, see, I'm just throwing them out

(09:05):
and they can put together a string that you know
and win two or three in a row or whatever,
three out of four that I think people could appreciate that.
But I don't think parody is a bad thing for
a league. You can get burnt out from the same old,
same old, or the same conversations and the same players. Uh,

(09:25):
but you can appreciate so so I'm not totally against
you know, I'm not totally against a dynasty that comes.
But if there's only two or three teams that win
all the time, I think that can be tars Well.

Speaker 1 (09:37):
It's interesting because think of the Golden era that resurrected
the NBA. That was Rob the least amount of parody
that the league has ever seen. I mean, I guess
the nineties you had Jordan winning six and then Elijah
Wyne won two. So I mean that was you know,

(09:59):
but they're there were different teams in the finals in
the nineties, Rob the only teams to make the finals.

Speaker 4 (10:10):
I'm not even talking about winning it.

Speaker 1 (10:12):
The only teams to make the finals in the nineties
were the Lakers, the Celtics, the Rockets, the seventy six ers,
and the Pistons. That's it. Those only teams that made it.

(10:32):
Maye that was the Yeah. In the nineteen eighties, and
yet that was the best decade you know, that resurrected
the league. Nineties again, you had a lot of dominance
with Jordan and then.

Speaker 4 (10:44):
You had a lot.

Speaker 5 (10:45):
But also Jordan is a different case, and I hear
what you're saying, But Jordan was that different thing that
moved the needle the same way Tiger Woods moved the
needle for golf. Michael was love them, hate them. People
wanted to see him and he's a big reason why
the NBA, you know, win another level. It was Michael

(11:07):
Jordan's and his But what about the eighties, I'm just
talking about the nineties.

Speaker 1 (11:12):
I'm just saying the eighties was even less parody than
the nineties. The nineties, even though Jordan was winning at all,
he was facing a bunch of different teams, the Blazers,
the Sonics, the Jazz, the Elijah and Beat, the Knicks
and the Magic. You know, you had a lot of

(11:33):
different teams making it the Suns Jordan beat. Here's I'm
kind of with you, Rob. I think parody is really good.
It's great to you know, when you there are a
number of teams that could win it, Like if let's
say Minnesota or even Boston wins it this year. I

(11:54):
think next year when we start the season, I mean,
there will be a number of teams that you think
can win it because difference. Not like that's the thing, right,
It's not like, oh, we didn't win it this year,
we're done. Bird never repeat it, you know. I mean
we went twenty years without a repeat champion until the
Lakers did it in eighty seven eighty eight. So I'm

(12:15):
just like, there's this panic when your team doesn't win it, like,
oh my gosh, we're done, we gotta rebuild. No, you
might add a piece or two, or you might run
it back for the most part, and you still could
win it. But I think here's what I'll say this
quickly because I know you got something to say. I
think parody is great for the hardcore fans. I think

(12:40):
the hardcore fans love the parody, the ones that are
gonna watch no matter what.

Speaker 4 (12:44):
And now you got all these.

Speaker 1 (12:45):
Different teams that could win. You can get into the
styles and you know who's matchups, who's favored in different matchups.
I think for the casual fan, dynasties are better. Dynasties
bring in.

Speaker 5 (12:58):
The casual agree with that if somebody's on the run.
We said it, Chris. In baseball, the Yankees was at
the late nineties, early two thousands, Like that's the last time. Yeah,
you know that's twenty five years ago, right, it's been
almost that.

Speaker 2 (13:18):
Uh.

Speaker 5 (13:19):
I'm trying to think when you talk about other teams, I.

Speaker 4 (13:23):
Mean Zach Kobe.

Speaker 1 (13:24):
Yeah, they brought in you know, casual fans wanted to
check them out. Yeah, I think that's the case. But
the every was in the dynasty. But you know they
got their four straight years they won two, you know,
so people want to see that.

Speaker 4 (13:38):
So all right, let's start out to the listeners. Eight seven,
seven ninety nine on Fox.

Speaker 1 (13:43):
Looks like the NBA is in a a an era
of parody, which is great. I think Yanni's got one,
Jokic got one. Maybe somebody knew will get one this year.
Steph got another one. You know, Kawhi of course, but
that wasn't new. Anthony Davis got his first. Uh do

(14:03):
you like this? Do you like this parody? Or would
you rather see a dynastic team? Come along your thoughts next?

Speaker 2 (14:11):
Chris A.

Speaker 4 (14:11):

Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.

Speaker 1 (14:54):
All right, it's the Oco Boo Chris Bruce, Rob Parker
live from the tire Rag Dot Time Studios. Eddie House
will join us in a few moments, But first your
Turn eight.

Speaker 4 (15:07):
Seven seven ninety nine on Fox.

Speaker 1 (15:10):
Is the NBA in a new era of parody, first
time in a long time, first time in.

Speaker 4 (15:18):
Basically fifty years. And do you like it? Do you
think it's good for the leagueor would you rather see dynasties?
Your thoughts? Eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox.

Speaker 5 (15:28):
All right, let's kick it off with Nick in New York.
You're on the odd couple of Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 4 (15:32):
What's up? Nick?

Speaker 2 (15:33):
Hey, guys, how you doing? I say, happy, Happy you
hear you know it's my favorite show.

Speaker 7 (15:38):
I go.

Speaker 2 (15:38):
I know you guys know that.

Speaker 5 (15:40):
No doubt I appreciate it.

Speaker 2 (15:42):
Yeah, of course, definitely. I love basketball, but I'm not
an every night watcher. I don't have a favorite team.
I just enjoyed the game. But Dynasty's outside of the
spurs creative, like household names, where you know you had
these guys that you wanted to watch. When you have
a Stephane Lebron every year, you get pulled in women watching,
And I think that's what created where it was like

(16:03):
this when they went back and forth for so many years,
it was it created tensions and households. Also, the frequency
of injuries is contributing to this parody. But I think
that the parody is good because it's getting everyone else involved.
It's more that international field that we're trying to get overseas.
It's creating it in country and I don't know if

(16:25):
that makes sense, but it's getting bigger and smaller. Vis.

Speaker 1 (16:29):
Yeah, more fans feel like their team can win. I mean,
I know that a lot of team, the Lakers, the
Bulls with Jordan. You know, these dynasties tend to get
fans from all over the country. True, but a lot
of diehards, you know, for local teams can feel like
they got a better.

Speaker 2 (16:45):
Chance the other. The one last thing I just want
to say is that you know some players would choose
what team when they would go to based on their location.
Maybe it's taxes, maybe it's like the weather.

Speaker 8 (16:56):
But if you have a good.

Speaker 2 (16:57):
Team and you can get set up, I mean, there's
a lot of money and it's not even half of
what it's going to be in the next like maybe
ten to fifteen years in the NBA, it's gonna be huge.
And these smaller markets that we say now are gonna
be huge.

Speaker 4 (17:12):
Thank you, No, that's a.

Speaker 5 (17:13):
Good, good call, Nick, Yeah, Nick appreciated eight seven, seven
ninety nine on Fox. If you do want to join
the conversation, Chris so Rob, I'll.

Speaker 4 (17:24):
Say I'll say this.

Speaker 1 (17:25):
Let's say Minnesota goes on to win the championship next year.
You're thinking Boston, Milwaukee, Philadelphia in the East, maybe even
the Knicks, depending on what they do in the offseason,
could win it. You're thinking OKC, Denver, Minnesota, Dallas.

Speaker 4 (17:54):
That's nine teams.

Speaker 1 (17:56):
That you would probably think had a really good chance,
you know, to win the champions or have a legitimate
chance to win the championship. And that's not to mention
possible spoilers like the Clippers, the Suns, the Lakers, the Warriors,
you know, teams like that.

Speaker 4 (18:14):
So it could be interesting. Robb G. Where are you
at on this? Do you go ahead?

Speaker 5 (18:20):
Yeah? We got we got John in Minnesota. Let's get
to John, and we'll get to Robb GI as well.
But John, you're in the odd couple of Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 9 (18:26):
What's up, buddy, it's sitting McAll. You know, I think
changing anything is good because you know, I'm in Minnesota. Obviously.
I love what the Timberwolves are doing, and they're kind
of doing it, playing almost a version of nineties basketball,
and everyone's going, wow, look at Minnesota and they just
kind of went away from small ball and they're playing, uh,

(18:50):
they're taking long two point jump shots as I haven't
seen in a while. And they're playing good defense.

Speaker 4 (18:57):
That's right, that's a great point.

Speaker 1 (19:00):
That's a great their physical, their defenses, and they're the
best defensive team in the League by a mile.

Speaker 4 (19:06):
What's it like up there? Howard? Are the fans going crazy?
Is he still there?

Speaker 5 (19:10):
I think he lost him? Yeah, I know they're going Yeah,
I know they're going crazy. Rob G. Are you You're
from Los Angeles and you'd want to be loud and
proud and big and tall and.

Speaker 7 (19:21):
No, this is not the NFL. Parody is not good
for the NBA. The real There's a thing that exists
across all sports, whether people want to admit it or not,
but sports fans, especially casual sports fans, love dynasties. They
love villains, they love people they can all join hands
together and root against. Because being a Laker fan is different.

Speaker 5 (19:45):
You know, you win a.

Speaker 7 (19:46):
While you're used to, but if you're like a Utah
Jazz fan or a Pacers fan and your team doesn't
really win like that, the one thing you can root
for and stuff and interesting as the series and things
move on is well, as.

Speaker 5 (19:57):
Long as the Lakers don't win, I'm good.

Speaker 7 (19:59):
As long as Duke and win or as win.

Speaker 1 (20:02):
Well, I will say, to Rob's point, Rob G's point,
dynasties and a lot of times is before they even
become a dynasty. But it's more So the personalities that
come with dynasties, right, Kobe, Shaq, Jordan, a magic bird, Lebron, Like,
I want to see them win or lose. I live

(20:24):
in Kansas City, but I'm into Lebron, you know what
I mean.

Speaker 4 (20:28):
So I'm pulling for him.

Speaker 1 (20:30):
I live in Sacramento, but I love you, know, I mean,
you're there. You're gonna be a Kings fan most likely,
but you know what I mean, Like you can pull
for these Now, I think it might be more personalities
because look, San Antonio. Now Rob doesn't think they're a dynasty.
There may be a different kind of dynasty. We don't
have to argue over whether they were or not. But
they were clearly a supreme team and they didn't capture

(20:54):
the imagination of the public like that.

Speaker 4 (20:56):
So I think it has to also be.

Speaker 1 (21:01):
Powered by personalities and individuals that really move the needle
as well, and most dynasties have those type of guys.

Speaker 5 (21:12):
Yeah, I get like Rob G's point, but I still
believe that people are interested and even if you just
have the idea, Chris, that your team has a chance,
like I do, believe that that spurs peoples that the

(21:34):
season is not over. When the season starts, you know
what I mean, Oh God, there's no chance that they're
gonna beat Steph or they're gonna beat Lebron or whatever.
And this is what happened when you start to see Milwaukee.
Like when Milwaukee won, everybody said when Giannis went back there,
oh he's dumb, he will never win, blah blah blah blah,
bright all that. You can't tell me that smaller markets

(21:58):
didn't feel good when when he won, right.

Speaker 1 (22:01):
Yeah, well, rob look at the I mean, Denver, Milwaukee.

Speaker 4 (22:07):
Toronto's not a small market.

Speaker 5 (22:09):
Toronto's a major sit.

Speaker 4 (22:10):
Yeah, but it's in another country to the NBA.

Speaker 1 (22:13):
It might as well be a small market because they
don't get the ratings from Canada, you know. But yeah,
I mean, small market teams can win. But I just
think it does boil down to Robber. You mentioned casual fans,
yet I think.

Speaker 4 (22:27):
To casuals.

Speaker 5 (22:31):
And he's right. Got the Cowboys, they want to root
against the Yankees, they want to root against the Packers,
like certain team brings.

Speaker 1 (22:38):
In wives and Notre Dame cris College, All right, would
you say that Notre Dame?

Speaker 5 (22:44):
Right?

Speaker 1 (22:44):
I mean, they it's been so long since they were
good but I know what you're saying, like Alabama or
you know, something like that. So all right, we got
Eddie House around the corner. We'll ask him about this
and much more.

Speaker 3 (22:57):
Fox Sports Radio has the best sports talk lineup in
the nation. Catch all of our shows at Foxsports Radio
dot com and within the iHeartRadio app. Search FSR to
listen live.

Speaker 4 (23:08):
We're live from Thetiereck dot com studios.

Speaker 1 (23:11):
Our next guest has theme music, has an NBA championship.
He's an NBC Sports Boston color analyst, Fox Sports Radio
NBA analysts.

Speaker 4 (23:22):
Our man, Eddie House, whatever you House, what's up?

Speaker 8 (23:25):
What's that?

Speaker 4 (23:27):
We are great man, Rob and I were just talking
Eddie this.

Speaker 1 (23:31):
If Denver loses and we'll get to them in the
Timberwolves in a moment. But if they don't win the
championship this year, it will be six straight years of
a different champion and we haven't seen that since the
nineteen seventies. Win eight teams won championships in that decade.

(23:52):
That was the most pretty the NBA has ever seen,
but it also was the toughest decade for the league.

Speaker 4 (23:58):
There are a lot of other issueses Rob up earlier.

Speaker 1 (24:01):
But do you think do you like this? Are you're
a purest so I imagine you like it. But do
you think it's good for the league overall to have
this type of parody or do you think it's best
when you have a dynasty shot Kobe, the Jordan Bulls,
the Lakers, Showtime Lakers, and the Bird Celtics.

Speaker 4 (24:22):
Like, what do you think is better for the league?

Speaker 8 (24:25):
I would say as a fan of the league, this
is better because every each individual city feel like they
have opportunity. Think about Minnesota, right, we talk about small
markets Minnesota, Okay, see never even being a smaller market,
all of those guys, you know they won last year
and having a chance for those fans to feel that
or feel like they can get to those to those

(24:46):
points of making a final or or making a deep
run into the playoffs. You know, we've seen it with
Cleveland with Lebron, but they have star power. I like
it because what it shows is that, you know, DM's
gotta do their works. DM's got to handle they business,
you know, and players got to go out their handaday business.
So you look at what Sam the job Sam Presty
has done and put together dat roster with all the

(25:09):
stockpile of draft picks to where he could go get
another veteran. He could get two veterans if he wanted
to to add to that team. You look at what
Brad Stevens has done in Boston, you look at what
Bion Rose has done over in New York. You know,
I think it's really really good when it is parody. Now,
it's also really great for the fans if there is

(25:32):
a dynasty. But like the Golden State Warriors, they had
been at the bottom of the barrel. Youre talking about
the run TMC era was really good. It was exciting,
but they never won anything, you know, and I grew
up watching those guys, but they never won like they
won regular seas, but they didn't win the big thing,
you know. And so for a fan base when the

(25:53):
Warriors had their dynasty, yes, great for that fan base,
But overall in the league, I don't think a dynastic
it's not I don't think it's great overall for the league.
In any league if there's just one team that constantly
win it, imagine, we'll just take it back when it
was all with Cleveland and Golden State. Did you not
get tired of seeing that.

Speaker 1 (26:15):
Well that that was that was like an extreme version
because you know, Golden State was just so overwhelmingly good.
But I think that the Jordan dynasty was great for
the league. The Showtime era, only five teams even made
the finals in the eighties ATDI and.

Speaker 4 (26:31):
That was great for the league.

Speaker 8 (26:33):
Right, it was great for the league because they was
they needed that, They needed that magic, that star pass,
they needed that. But I'm quite sure there was other
fan bases that were like, we're tired of seeing the
Lakers and Celtics unless you were a Laker and Celtics fans.
And then when it was Jordan, if you were, you
were The difference between the Jordan is he played different
teams damn near.

Speaker 5 (26:53):
Every year, right, Right, that did help Eddie, There's no
doubt about it. There was a rivalry with the Nimt.
There was a rivalry with the Pistons. There's a rivalry
with the Pacers. Yeah, it was just it was different.

Speaker 8 (27:06):
It was on the final was the Blazers. It was
the Lakers, the Blazers, uh, and you know the Suns
and then you had the Utah twice and then it
was so it was all different. It was all great
for all of those other fan bases that usually aren't there.
So that dynasty kind of worked. But the Warriors dynasty

(27:28):
was just Cleveland and the Warriors. You know what I mean?

Speaker 5 (27:31):
Uh? What the the NBA has come out with with
the two minute reports said that they blew a call
in that Knicks Pacers game on the kickball, which was
huge because it could have been a you know, a
dunk for the Pacers open course, and.

Speaker 1 (27:48):
Then definitely wouldn't have been a three pointer for the
Knicks exactly.

Speaker 4 (27:51):
It was huge.

Speaker 5 (27:52):
It was a five point turnaround Chris absolutely take away
the three and add the two.

Speaker 2 (27:56):
Uh.

Speaker 5 (27:56):
But Eddie officiating for the most part, and we saw
on the fill against Fililadelphia, the Nick's got some calls
to how do you fix the like the like the
bad calls or this is just the NBA and we
have to live with it.

Speaker 8 (28:08):
Well, I mean, if that's the human air, the same
thing happened. Remember the Minnesota Saints game, bad call the
hell Mary Green Bay and Seattle, you know, bad call,
that's the human air that happens. I'm not gonna say
that the refs change that game. Yeah, those players are highlighted,
but I got a handful of mental mistakes that happened

(28:29):
by Indiana in the last five minutes of that game.
They turned the ball over three times. They they went
to rode to when Deep Vincenzo hit that shot. Nie
Smith goes in double teams Jalen Brunton with his back
to the basket above the free throw line. He goes
in double teams. That puts Indiana and rotations. Halliburton hesitates

(28:50):
for count when he should be sprinting and giving up
the shot to Scott's Hart. But because everything is you know,
sped up. You know, they have the Josh Hart offensive
rebound from the free throw, the Josh Hart corner offensive rebound, Like,
blame those things. Don't blame the ref because those are
the controllables, you know what I mean? The ref is

(29:11):
an uncontrollable and so yeah, the refs gotta get it right.
And I don't like the two minute report because what
does that do except stir up everything and.

Speaker 5 (29:21):
Doesn't do anything look bad.

Speaker 8 (29:24):
Yeah, it's just not cool.

Speaker 1 (29:26):
Before you go, Eddie, we got about a minute, minute
and a half.

Speaker 4 (29:30):
Is Denver done? And why or why not?

Speaker 8 (29:34):
I would say they on the grill right now. And
I don't know, you know, I ain't gonna stick the
fork in them because I don't know if they done.
I got to give them a puncher's chance, a puncher's
opportunity and championship pedigree that they do have, and they
do have Yokic, I gotta give them. I gotta see
it again. But they look like they quit in Game two,

(29:55):
and it looked like they quit early. I ain't talking
about late in the fourth corner. It looked like they
quit early in the second quarter, complaining the coach went crazy,
and so I would. I wouldn't be surprised if they
got swept. I would not be surprised.

Speaker 1 (30:13):
Trying to get ejected to light a fire under his team,
because you go at a ref like that.

Speaker 8 (30:20):
That would be the dumbest thing on earth to try
to light a fire. You're the head coach.

Speaker 4 (30:25):
We've seen that happen.

Speaker 8 (30:27):
Yeah, but not that in this same regular season. Not
in with the stakes. You going down too. You want
to be on the sideline coach and your.

Speaker 5 (30:35):
Team, Eddie, I have a pet peeve in this business
and a lot of people do it, so don't take
it personal. But when you say I wouldn't be surprised
if they got swept, you're not saying anything. I want
you to say they're gonna get swept. I'm not gonna
say that because when you say hear me out and
hear me out. When you say I wouldn't be surprised,

(30:58):
you're not committing either way. So if they get swept,
you could come back and say that I told you,
And if they don't get swept, you could say I
told you they weren't gonna get swept. So all I'm
asking you is that doesn't when you say I wouldn't
be surprised if they got swept, you haven't committed to
either side.

Speaker 8 (31:16):
Yeah, because I'm not committed to either side, and I'm
not gonna commit to either side because you want me
to commit to either.

Speaker 4 (31:21):
No, I'm just trying to tell you topics.

Speaker 8 (31:27):
This is where. This is where I stand. This is
where I stand.

Speaker 5 (31:29):
You're in the middle of the fence. You're not standing anywhere.

Speaker 8 (31:34):
I'm not sure. And I said it before I even
said that. I said that I got to give them
a puncher chance, and they're the champion, so I'm gonna
give them that respect. But I wouldn't be surprised if
they got swept. It's not like I'll be like, Oh,
I got surprised they got swept. I wouldn't. I never
would have believed that the way things are going right now,
I wouldn't be surprised if they got swept.

Speaker 5 (31:52):
But you, miss, you're not You're not saying anything. No,
there's no insight that to what you just said. There's
nothing you just said.

Speaker 8 (32:01):
You what do you want me to say? You want
me to say? Are they gonna get sweaty?

Speaker 4 (32:05):
Yes?

Speaker 1 (32:07):
Plenty takes where he don't commit either, So no, no,
what are.

Speaker 5 (32:11):
You talking about?

Speaker 4 (32:12):
Chris? I'm the committed I've called you on it too.
I'm the committing Chris.

Speaker 1 (32:17):
Every caller we get now, most times you do make
a stance, I'll give you that, But a lot of
there's times you haven't, and I've called you on it
like you got you jump on our callers.

Speaker 4 (32:27):
They can make us stands. You ain't saying that, Eddie, Eddie,
I love you anyway.

Speaker 5 (32:32):
I want you to know.

Speaker 8 (32:33):
I know I know you do.

Speaker 5 (32:35):
You know I do.

Speaker 9 (32:36):
That's not the fact.

Speaker 8 (32:37):
But if you would have been listening and got the
took th row out of your ear, you would have
heard what I said before. And what I've said before
was I'm gonna give them a punch of chance now,
and I wouldn't be surprised if they got swept because
of the way that they've been playing. They did quit
early in the game, and that is not cool.

Speaker 1 (32:57):
So all right, we gotta run Eddie Yo Yoki is
just named m v P. No surprise, but you were
talking about that.

Speaker 4 (33:04):
I voted for Luca.

Speaker 8 (33:06):
Come on, many didn't get to vote.

Speaker 4 (33:09):
Have been nobody, I'm sure say the second I haven't
seen the results. I'm imagining he should have been that
he should have been the m v P.

Speaker 1 (33:16):
He shouldn't have been. His numbers aren't aren't close to
Yo stopping not the n B. But that's cheap, that's lazy.
The best. Let's give it to Jason Tatum. Why ain't
we give it to Jason Tatum?

Speaker 8 (33:29):
That would that would be lazy, That would be lazy,
because best Tatum. Today's numbers were great.

Speaker 5 (33:35):
No, they were nothing.

Speaker 1 (33:36):
They were great, but they weren't as great as yok
and lucas.

Speaker 8 (33:40):
Behind shots and we and we see what Luca and
Jokic is doing.

Speaker 4 (33:43):
Right, No, but that's not it ain't not about Let's
give it that to Anthony Edwards. Then let's make Anthony
Evers NB.

Speaker 8 (33:52):
We shouldn't have a great he didn't have every single
game was great in the playoffs, by.

Speaker 1 (33:55):
The wayward like the right the play play else have
nothing to do.

Speaker 4 (34:01):
We gotta run, though, Eddie. All right, more people coming
your way, Yogi me, that's next.

out of a church CB.

Speaker 1 (34:32):
Now all right, all right, Luthor. You can't get enough
for Luthor.

Speaker 4 (34:37):
My goodness. All right, it's time for Sheeco City. I'm sorry, Rob,
but your picks off to wait. Luther singing.

Speaker 1 (34:49):
About the Virgin maryle yes base, Yes, daily picks against
the scrap.

Speaker 5 (35:00):
All right, here we go a little Shekel City to
get us going here. No, no, no, I'm good on
this one. Let's start here, Chris, Shekel City, best bet.
I got the pachers plus four and a half against
the Knicks at Madison Square Garden. They did cover last
game they were getting I think five and a half points,

(35:23):
so it's four and a half today.

Speaker 4 (35:24):
You got the Pacers winning.

Speaker 5 (35:26):
I got the Patriers winning tonight. Yep Pachers plus four
and a half, but I think they went out right
tie the series one one. Also, baseball, couple games Orioles
minus one and a half. They can't beat the Nationals,
so it's about time they break out of it. I'm
gonna take the Oriols minus one and a half runs
in DC against the Nationals, and I'm gonna take the

(35:46):
Atlanta Braids minus one and a half runs. They're hosting
the Red Sox in Atlanta. So Braids minus one and
a half runs, Oriols minus one and a half runs,
and the Pacers plus four and a half points. Chris,
And I'm not telling you who the bet on. I'm
telling you who I bet on, all right, Rob.

Speaker 1 (36:04):
Nicola Jokics named MVP for the third time in four years.
Shay Gilders Alexander second, Luka Doncis who I voted for third,
Janni's fourth, Jalen Brunson fifth. I had Tatum, Jason Tatum fourth,
and Jannis fifth, So congratulations Jason, Jalen Brunson but.

Speaker 5 (36:27):
How many how many did Brunton get? How many votes?

Speaker 4 (36:31):
He got? No first place?

Speaker 1 (36:33):
But he got a three second and one third, twenty
eight fourth, and thirty two fifth.

Speaker 5 (36:38):
Okay, and what was the breakdown for one and two?

Speaker 1 (36:42):
Jokic chat seventy nine first place, Shae fifteen, Luca four.
I was one of those sons actually had one.

Speaker 5 (36:51):
Wow, Johanna's got won this year.

Speaker 1 (36:54):
That's surprising that the Milwaukee numbers were phenomenal.

Speaker 4 (36:58):
His numbers were phenomenal.

Speaker 1 (37:00):
What do you think third? So, robb G, you might
have to help us out. I'm thinking those that won
three and four years, Lebron. I believe right, Lebron win
three and four years.

Speaker 7 (37:14):
There's only nine guys total who have won three or more? Right,
give them all, Rob Magic, Johnson, Wilt Chamberlain, Bill Russell,
Michael Jordan, Lebron, James Carreno, Dul Jabbar, Moses Malone, Larry
Bird and now Nikola Jokic.

Speaker 4 (37:27):
Wow, I'm just wondering how many won three and four.

Speaker 7 (37:29):
But I just want to know how many of them
have not beaten a fifty plus win team in the playoffs. Oh,
that's just one.

Speaker 4 (37:34):
My bad.

Speaker 7 (37:38):
You're going to have We're going to have an uncomfortable
conversation about a Joker in about a week.

Speaker 4 (37:43):
What is it we wanted to do it if they lose,
I like to do it. If they win, I don't
know if we can cause Joker.

Speaker 1 (37:49):
Jokers game is is is Buttera? Even if they lose
this series, his game is Butta
