What's up man? What's happened to mister Chris bussad. How
are you.

Speaker 4 (01:30):
I'm fantastic. Everything is going great, everything.

Speaker 5 (01:36):
Is going well. How about you? I'm great? Are you kidding?
Did you watch the Chicken Nuggets over the weekend? My god,
I love that.

Speaker 1 (01:44):
No, the question is did you?

Speaker 5 (01:45):
Of course, of course I watched them. I did know
they did they surprise you? Why are you calling them
the chicken Nugget? No, I was saying because everybody was
counting them out, saying that they were the chicken Nuggets
or whatever after the first two games.

Speaker 6 (01:58):
Actually, you're the only person I've ever heard call them
the chicken that.

Speaker 5 (02:01):
Well, I'm just saying they were acting like they had
no shot, like I had no shot.

Speaker 1 (02:08):
People were counting on sweeps.

Speaker 4 (02:10):
Well, I never said I'm counting on So I actually
picked up Minnesota in seventh.

Speaker 3 (02:14):
I know.

Speaker 1 (02:15):
But you thought that there could be a sweet didn't you?

Speaker 7 (02:17):
After that?

Speaker 1 (02:17):
It was on the board.

Speaker 4 (02:19):
Anytime you lose the first two at home, it's just
a it's a possibility. I said, it's on the board,
that's a possibility. But you know, they played well and
they did show the heart.

Speaker 6 (02:28):
Of a champion.

Speaker 4 (02:28):
And we'll get into that in a few moments, but
let's introduce the Eye Couple crew.

Speaker 1 (02:32):
First, we got the super producer Rob g is.

Speaker 4 (02:36):
In the house on the updates Martin White's Rob, Yeah.

Speaker 1 (02:43):
Right, is in the building. Wow, that's good to have
you man.

Speaker 4 (02:47):
And on the social media our man Elijah Sabuna, and
on the ones and the twos, it is none other.

Speaker 1 (03:01):
That's right. She jumped the gun, that's right. All right,
I don't even do that, making married famous.

Speaker 5 (03:09):
Mary coming from a Ruckus weekend in Texas and all that.

Speaker 1 (03:14):
She just barely got off the planet. Family. Yeah, she
was having a good time, right Mary.

Speaker 5 (03:19):
No.

Speaker 1 (03:19):
Yeah, they keep keeping it really weird.

Speaker 6 (03:22):
That's all right, Wow, not keeping it real, keeping it weird.

Speaker 5 (03:25):
It's a family though. Family can be weird. That's okay,
family can be weird.

Speaker 6 (03:29):
We got our family reunion this summer.

Speaker 1 (03:31):
Where you go with Sarks. Oh, the old arksob. Yes,
I've been to the Old Sarks, Chris, I went. How
was its awesome? Did you know?

Speaker 5 (03:39):
I went to the University of Missouri at Columbia.

Speaker 1 (03:44):
As a student.

Speaker 7 (03:45):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (03:45):
I did a program there for like two or three months,
multi cultural management, and I enjoyed it.

Speaker 1 (03:53):
I really enjoyed my time at Missouri.

Speaker 4 (03:54):
It was I didn't know that they got a great journalism.

Speaker 1 (03:58):
Yeah I did. I would.

Speaker 5 (04:00):
At one point people at the Daily News were thinking
about putting me in management. Chris, when I was in
my twenties, thought like, were you interested. I was like, I'll,
you know, why not at least go you know what
I mean, take the course and listen. And they were
high on me, like almost from the day that they
hired me. It was incredible. But I liked the path
that I took, which was to stay as a writer

(04:21):
and state. Yeah it worked out.

Speaker 4 (04:23):
Yeah, I would rather be like what we do, but
that's you know, we know people that went that route
and it's great, very very successful.

Speaker 5 (04:31):
We need people like that to shape the news and
all that stuff. So all right, well let's get it started, Rob.

Speaker 1 (04:37):
You are right.

Speaker 4 (04:38):
The Denver Nuggets, man, I'm gonna give them credit. I'm
gonna give them credit. Like you said, a lot of
people were down on them. I did think it might
not go seven, like I said, that was my pick,
but I was like, man, they might not even get
to seven.

Speaker 1 (04:57):
I was feeling like six is five even.

Speaker 4 (05:00):
I thought at worst Minnesota would go home or I'm sorry,
go back to Denver. Up three to one, Rob, and
instead the Nuggets took control of the series. And I
gotta give them credit because not only did they have
to fight.

Speaker 6 (05:17):
Through the mental anguish of being down two.

Speaker 4 (05:21):
Having lost the first two at home, but Rob, it
looked like they were at a massive physical disadvantage. They
looked slower, they looked overwhelmed by the timberwolve speed and athleticism,
and they came out and they solved it.

Speaker 6 (05:41):
Nicola Jokic was great, Jamal Murray.

Speaker 4 (05:46):
Rob who I think while Jokic is obviously their best
player and the hub of what they do, I think
the key is Murray because they need him to really
play well to win. But Aaron Gordon hit threes to
Grudy Gobert away from the basket and they.

Speaker 1 (06:02):
They played well.

Speaker 4 (06:03):
I gotta give them credit, and their defense was strong.
So yeah, I think they showed the heart of a champion.
And now we got a serious and while I still
got the Timberwolves in seven, objectively speaking, you have.

Speaker 6 (06:16):
To say Denver now has control.

Speaker 4 (06:18):
They got the home court advantage in these last three games,
and they have the momentum. The one thing, though, Rob,
I don't know what momentum means in this series because
it's gone exactly opposite of what you would expect, right
with the road team winning every game. So it's gonna
it's a great series and I'm excited about it.

Speaker 7 (06:42):
All Right.

Speaker 1 (06:43):
I'm gonna say this.

Speaker 5 (06:45):
I'm not patting myself on the back, but I'm just
saying I did say, don't count these guys out even
when they were down.

Speaker 1 (06:51):
Oh to Chris, And this was my.

Speaker 5 (06:53):
Point when we talked on Friday, because I know you
and Antonio were talking about there are no adjustments to
be made.

Speaker 1 (06:59):
Well what adjustments?

Speaker 5 (07:00):
Well, what can And my biggest argument was they can
play better because that the way they played in the
first two games is different from playing well and losing
those two games. Then I would look at it and go, dude,
they got no shots.

Speaker 1 (07:16):
But there's a.

Speaker 6 (07:17):
Reason teams not No.

Speaker 1 (07:18):
But I'm just saying, but people can play better.

Speaker 6 (07:21):
Team can make them play back.

Speaker 1 (07:23):
Okay, but people.

Speaker 5 (07:23):
But I didn't believe they were done because I didn't
see the best of those guys yet. Jamal Murray was
what shooting like twenty two percent at one point or something.

Speaker 1 (07:32):
He's been shooting like that throughout the whole postseason.

Speaker 5 (07:34):
Yeah, but but at that point where they were after
the first two games, late shots.

Speaker 6 (07:39):
But he hasn't really been hot.

Speaker 5 (07:40):
But I think but there were a lot of people
and Antonio and who else he from. You sounded more
like it was gonna be a sweet I mean, I
know you said you said you said it was over
to Did you say that?

Speaker 1 (07:54):
Did you say it was a series was over? You
did say that.

Speaker 4 (07:57):
I thought it was old. I think I still think
December was gonna win. I'm not backing down for my pick.

Speaker 1 (08:01):
No, I'm not saying the timber Wolves were right.

Speaker 5 (08:03):
But you when you say the series is over, that
doesn't that doesn't sound like somebody who has a seven
game series when you say this series is over.

Speaker 6 (08:11):
I thought after too, that they were in control Minnesota.

Speaker 1 (08:13):
Was not that you just said control? The series was over?
Was your words? Do we have a hot take? That's fine,
You're gonna pay yourself on the back.

Speaker 4 (08:20):
Yeah, give me some give me some some reasoning there
other than that they could play better.

Speaker 1 (08:25):
Because that, I mean, you're gonna get up here like
you you saw something. What you see? I knew that
they could play better. Yeah, they get hit shot. I
know that they couldn't that they when that's all Chris.
You know just too good, you are right, too good.

Speaker 5 (08:41):
They can't, let me tell you that this mother defensively,
they can't do anything.

Speaker 1 (08:46):
I don't know what if judgments can they make.

Speaker 5 (08:48):
I don't see it because they're more athletic and they
don't look that good.

Speaker 1 (08:54):
And the jokers this and the jokers? That was the jokers?

Speaker 5 (08:59):
What and my point to point totally, Sidney, my point totally.
Anybody who listened to this show knows that you had
them dead and buried after two games. You're miscalculated, misshad
the room. You miss the room the championship, Trea, you

(09:21):
misread the room. You became a prisoner of the moment,
which is the worst when it comes to it being
an analysis of being trying to analysie.

Speaker 4 (09:29):
You don't you can't you all the time?

Speaker 1 (09:38):
Would Wemby the Defensive Player of the Year MVP.

Speaker 5 (09:43):
Chris, You're wrong every day here, every day, and.

Speaker 1 (09:46):
You were dead wrong on this.

Speaker 5 (09:49):
You had them dead and buried and guess what now
you're saying they're alive and have control of the series.

Speaker 1 (09:56):
How did that happen? Since an objective okay, analyst, No.

Speaker 4 (10:01):
If I'm wrong, hold on, I let I listened to
your garbage. If I'm wrong, I let men I'm wrong,
but you you gonna sit here?

Speaker 1 (10:10):
Had no reason? Reason? No, no, no, no, no no.
You don't want to hear it. You don't want to
hear my reason. Go ahead, go ahead? Are you gonna
let me talk or not? You could talk? Well, didn't
be quiet? I have to be quiet? Just talk?

Speaker 8 (10:25):
Well.

Speaker 4 (10:26):
No, I'm not gonna sit here and let you interrupt me.

Speaker 5 (10:28):
Everybody, Chris Brusa, whyett? I don't need to be quiet.
Go ahead and talk. I'll stop talking when you talk.

Speaker 1 (10:36):
All right?

Speaker 4 (10:37):
First of all, if you're gonna accuse me of being wrong,
know what you're talking about?

Speaker 1 (10:43):
You wrong?

Speaker 4 (10:44):
You said Winby was the defensive player the here. I
never said that. I say he's my vote for Defensive
Player of the year. Hold on, I never said he
was gonna win it. In fact, I said he wasn't
gonna win it. But that's not gonna fact my vote. Secondly,
who are m v P? I said yok is just

(11:06):
gonna win it, but my MVP.

Speaker 1 (11:08):
Vote is Luca, So how is that wrong?

Speaker 4 (11:12):
I wasn't predicting Luca was gonna win it or Winby
was gonna win it. So so I I give reasoning
and I made my picks for what I saw.

Speaker 1 (11:23):
It doesn't mean I was wrong wrong. I didn't. Did
I say Luca was brother Chris?

Speaker 4 (11:31):
Did I say you do you understand world?

Speaker 1 (11:34):
I do? Now you don't You obviously you thought I don't.

Speaker 4 (11:39):
Pick you who I think is going to win because
I pick who I think should win.

Speaker 1 (11:44):
Write and I'm telling you that your reason is is
that wrong? It is ill, ill faded, And you do
it all the time.

Speaker 5 (11:50):
You picked Tom Brady to win the m v P
over Aaron Rodgers that year.

Speaker 1 (11:53):
Who okay, Rob?

Speaker 5 (11:55):
All right, I'm just I'm going against those I don't
know all your picks.

Speaker 4 (11:59):
I don't know, dude, I'm giving you. Last year, I
picked Joe LMB to win MVP.

Speaker 1 (12:06):
Did he win? I don't remember what he did win?

Speaker 4 (12:10):
And I'm not running around saying I was right, because
it ain't no right and wrong.

Speaker 1 (12:15):
You pick who you think, you don't.

Speaker 4 (12:17):
I don't if everybody picked based on well, I think
everybody else gonna vote for him, so let me vote
for him. Why would you even have people with votes
You don't understand what you're talking about. Just like when
you watch the Nuggets. If you watch the Nuggets, you
don't know what you watch it.

Speaker 5 (12:35):
No, you don't know, but you by your reason it
was they could play Kenby. You can playday loss by
playing Jimmy basketball analysis. You're in that Parker, You're analysis.
They're dead, the series is over. You're supposed to be
the basketball analyst. And you couldn't have been more wrong

(12:57):
to say with Antonio Daniels.

Speaker 1 (12:58):
He was Antonio, you don't know anything. I didn't say that.

Speaker 5 (13:04):
He's the one who said that the Nuggets were gonna
lose your Lakers, and he said they had no answer.

Speaker 1 (13:10):
He also said they had no answer from Minnesota. Okay,
so he was wrong.

Speaker 5 (13:14):
So what you what they in the house, Oh, don't
be surprised if they got swept and come on with that.

Speaker 4 (13:24):
Antnio Daniels aren't here. I'll talk about you and me
talk to them when we get there. And all you
could say, at least they give me some reasoning, no reason.

Speaker 1 (13:35):
You got a lot of nerves wrong, You got a
lot of nerves.

Speaker 5 (13:39):
Stick up my shirt, thrutting like a rooster when you
don't know what the heck was going on?

Speaker 8 (13:45):
All right?

Speaker 1 (13:46):
Was you like I know that they can play better.
I mean they could just make shots. Okay, congratulations, Rob Parker.

Speaker 5 (13:57):
You what you don't know, Chris is we talked about
it with the Lakers and this was the example.

Speaker 1 (14:02):
I gell you, here's what you mean.

Speaker 5 (14:04):
I gave you the example of when Anthony Davis scored
forty points in Game one on the road in Denver
and they lost, and I said that was a sign
that the Lakers can't win a game.

Speaker 1 (14:15):
That couldn't meet them. No, I know the game this year,
last year.

You're the I Couple of Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 1 (16:10):
What's up? Stand?

Speaker 4 (16:12):
What's up?

Speaker 8 (16:13):
Guys?

Speaker 10 (16:13):
Love the show always?

Speaker 1 (16:14):
Thank you, thank you?

Speaker 10 (16:17):
Yeah, I think I mean I was listening to the
show when Chris was talking about the Nuggets. I don't
remember exactly what he said, but he had written them
off and Rob.

Speaker 11 (16:26):
You, I think maybe a little bit.

Speaker 10 (16:29):
A few more years of uh maturity and watching and
seeing the heart of a champion. You can't write a
team that stop last year and a half in the league.

Speaker 4 (16:42):
Yes, but we've both been covered long enough. I made
a mistake, but it ain't because of years of covering.
I covered the NBA thirty years.

Speaker 5 (16:52):
And the other thing too, is you got to remember
appreciate the call is the way Denver is. Then no
bag of tricks. They've been doing the same thing. They
get the same lineup. All they needed to do. I
didn't see any big adjustments like they did something. They
just Chris and I know that sounds simplistic, but they
weren't gonna do it.

Speaker 1 (17:11):
They didn't. They didn't do it make any I mean,
they hit shot.

Speaker 4 (17:15):
Jamal Murray played better Yo Kic in Game four especially,
Rob came out as a score.

Speaker 1 (17:21):
He took twenty three shots, which you know he doesn't.

Speaker 4 (17:24):
He's usually looking to get everybody involved, and he came
out to score. He had a big pass under the basket,
did you. Oh yeah, that was I mean the dude,
that was beautiful. And then Aaron Gordon hitting threes is
huge for them, big timeus. Michael Porter Junior hadn't gotten
it going, so Gordon hitting.

Speaker 1 (17:39):
The threes is big. KD in Memphis, you're on the
couple of Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 7 (17:44):
What's up?

Speaker 12 (17:44):
Kd Y Spicy in the studios today?

Speaker 1 (17:49):
Right, Sometimes it's the odd coup, that's right.

Speaker 5 (17:53):
Sometimes, k sometimes you need an eight piece of a
piece spicy.

Speaker 1 (17:58):
Okay, yeah, No, I love it.

Speaker 11 (18:05):
I love it.

Speaker 12 (18:06):
I just want to Yeah, that was just I just
want to highlight the respect and maturity that you guys
have for one another to throw a heart punch and
know when to for the next one you. It was
a good back and forth. Real that was great right there.

Speaker 4 (18:17):
Well that's what we do, yes, right, yep.

Speaker 12 (18:21):
As far as the question goes, Rob Robinson one hundred
percent right. The entire world had everybody written off, from
Steven A the mad Dog to the guy on the
midnight everybody. Yeah, and and and Chris is right to
that when because I listened every day when y'all was
talking about it, Rob, you said they could just play

(18:41):
batter period.

Speaker 11 (18:42):
That's it.

Speaker 12 (18:43):
They could they played, they could play better than how
they was playing, and so they can pull the game off.
And that's what happened. I mean, Chris immediately said I
was wrong.

Speaker 5 (18:52):
I know I'm problem with that, but I can still
rub it in or try.

Speaker 1 (19:02):
Originally, Pick it's still alive. Did you pick what you
what was your pick? Denver? Pick Denver? But I don't
remember giving the games.

Speaker 5 (19:13):
I don't remember, to be honest, Chris, but I picked
them because you know I got them repeating as Champs,
Tim Chili Tim in Atlanta, you're in the yard couple
of Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 7 (19:21):
What's up?

Speaker 1 (19:21):
Tim?

Speaker 11 (19:22):
What it?

Speaker 1 (19:24):
What's up?

Speaker 11 (19:25):
Man?

Speaker 1 (19:26):
You want to pant that extra spicy to hand up
for your frat brother. You better not to be like
it is with.

Speaker 8 (19:36):
Christ were brothers in the Bond and of the Cross.
But uh, you know, in my job as a Parisic psychologist,
hand sis pick, I heard what they were telling me,
but I always listened to what they weren't telling me.
Now you said that, you know that you didn't say
it was over, but you did say it was over.
So but my other point, he did, I think it
was more about I think it's more about uh and

(20:01):
Rudy Gobert. Think about Donovan Mitchell's biggest complaint about Gobert.
You played great during the season, but then the playoffs,
you know, you go from the Eiffel towents and the
courage side. And then when Anthony Elways think about what
he said after the game, he was talking about what
he said to Jamal Murray. He said, first he said, yeah,
we love it, and he said, no, I love it.
So he's said, I don't think these guys are up

(20:23):
to it. So I think it was part Denver. But
then I think too the things that we looked at
Gobert and called Anthony towns from before, they hadn't never
proved it, And I think that's why it was preliminary
to kind of like count because they've proven it where
these guys have never asked.

Speaker 5 (20:41):
And that was and that was Chris's argument all year
about Minnesota. Chris was that they were a younger team
thanks to call and are they ready between them and
OKC and both of them could wind up being out
just based off of their talented But you even questioned
whether or not Mark from Sakram, I know we've been
talking to Mark.

Speaker 1 (21:01):
Where's Mark? Mark? What can you call the high line? Mark?
Is that Mark? No?

Speaker 5 (21:05):
No, no, I'm just saying, but Mark was the one
thing that that that uh that those guys can we
squeeze in one more?

Speaker 1 (21:12):
We got real quick?

Speaker 5 (21:13):
Get listen to it, uh, Moses, Moses in Nashville.

Speaker 1 (21:17):
You're on the eye couple of Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 11 (21:20):
Yo, yo yo, I'm back, I'm back. Listen. That opening
monologue was was an epic. I love back and forth.
That was great, But I will just say this. Listen,
Well it comes to baseball.

Speaker 12 (21:36):
I listened to Dangow.

Speaker 11 (21:39):
When it comes Rob, Rob, I respect everything you got
on uh on baseball. When it comes to basketball, I
do lean towards Chris And if you watch that series
after the first two games, it did look like it
was over. So whatever a series is tied to to
after four games, then you have to say both team.

Speaker 5 (22:01):
I disagree with that. I don't think it's even. I
totally just I don't think it's even. I think Minnesota
won't win another game. You hear, I don't believe they'll
win another game. They won the first two. I'm telling
you right here, Moses, they won't win another game. That's
what it feels like to me.

Speaker 4 (22:18):
I think Denver will go up three to two, and
then I think Minnesota will even it at three a piece,
and then they'll go back to Denver for a Game
seven and we'll see who settles it. But Rob, I
will say this the history of basketball. Rob would say

(22:39):
that the Timberwolves lose this series in a tough, kind
of heartbreaking way, and then the question is Okay, next year,
can they get over that hump right or if not, next.

Speaker 1 (22:51):
Year the year after.

Speaker 4 (22:52):
Like typically, Rob, we've seen so many champions go through
the growing pains of the playoffs.

Speaker 1 (22:59):
But Chris, you they will be skipping.

Speaker 5 (23:01):
You brought this up about them skipping, that they will,
but both of them you were like, really you would
be like, well, well they would buck What normally happens
when you get to a point to try to make
a run for a championship, and what could wind up
happening is that both of these teams wind up getting

(23:23):
knocked out by older, you know, more experienced teams. I
think the mass is gonna win that, you know, like
like okay, see, look like they won their first one
six or seven six.

Speaker 1 (23:33):
Posts won their first six, No I'm sorry.

Speaker 4 (23:36):
OKC won their first five, Timberwolves won their first six.

Speaker 1 (23:41):
All right, it is the odd couple.

Speaker 4 (23:42):
Chris and Rob on a spicy, spicy afternoon, all right,
Jared Golf, Rob, I don't know how you feel about this.
Got a new deal, second biggest contract in the league.

Speaker 1 (23:55):
We'll talk about that next, but.

Speaker 3 (23:56):
First, Fox Sports Radio has the best sports talk line
up in the nation. Catch all of our shows at

Speaker 6 (24:09):
Jared Goff, you just heard Martin Wisse talk about it.

Speaker 4 (24:12):
But he signs a four year, two hundred and twelve million
dollar contract.

Speaker 1 (24:16):
Extension one seventy guarantees.

Speaker 4 (24:18):
That's the real number, yep, right, so per year fifty
three million. He's the second highest quarterback in the league
behind Joe Burrow, but his guaranteed money, Rob is just seventh, which,
to be.

Speaker 1 (24:32):
Honest, that's about I mean, I'm not.

Speaker 6 (24:35):
Even saying he's the seventh best quarterback, but that's more
than a.

Speaker 5 (24:38):
Domestic right on where he should be. And we've talked
about this on this show a million times. Stop paying
the position and pay the player, and Jared Golf shouldn't
have topped out Chris as the number one pay because
it was his time. You remember when Stafford was the
highest paid player in the league. You remember that had
a few years back and all that because their contract

(24:59):
were up and they were quarterbacks and they got all
the money.

Speaker 1 (25:02):
That's not it shouldn't be like that.

Speaker 7 (25:04):
Yep.

Speaker 6 (25:04):
So this is fine, This is in line with I agree.
I'm cool with that.

Speaker 4 (25:08):
And hopefully, Rob, this is a trend, you know what
I mean, This starts something where.

Speaker 1 (25:14):
Stop paying quarterbacks are gonna be the highest paid.

Speaker 4 (25:17):
But you you can't just make every quarterback that comes
up for a contract the highest paid quarterback in the league.
It makes no sense. And I do think teams are
starting to realize that.

Speaker 7 (25:28):
Rob.

Speaker 1 (25:28):
So good for the Lions.

Speaker 4 (25:30):
And look, Rob Golf, I mean you you obviously wrote
a column in Detroit. Do you think Lions fans should
feel good about this?

Speaker 1 (25:41):
Absolutely?

Speaker 5 (25:42):
I mean, there's no the guy got him to the
NFC Championship game. They should have gone to the Super Bowl, Chris, right,
They really, they were in position, They're up on the road,
up big in the first half, and they and they
let it get away from them. Okay, you don't know
if there's another opportunity, but there's no way you can.
What are you looking for or what possibly would you

(26:03):
be looking for to do anything different? There's no choice.
You gotta let this play out. And there's no guarantee. Now, Chris,
I don't I'm not sitting here thinking they're gonna win
a championship in the next four years.

Speaker 1 (26:17):
For sure.

Speaker 5 (26:18):
We know that the last time they went to the
NFC Championship game, it was back in the ninety January
ninety two.

Speaker 6 (26:26):
Chris, I could have sworn you were gonna say Mobile.

Speaker 5 (26:28):
Dick was a guppy or you know it was that
long ago. Yes, but you get My point is there's
no guarantee. But Jared Goff has earned the right to
get a deal and and go on this road.

Speaker 1 (26:40):
For the next four years, win loser, draw, That's that's it.

Speaker 4 (26:44):
Rob, He's been to a super Bowl with the Rams.
We told before he was with the Ram remember that.
I mean, look, and you know how hard it is
to get a like a very good quarterback.

Speaker 1 (26:58):
We're not even talking top tier. He's not top two year.
He's in that second tier, yep.

Speaker 4 (27:01):
But it's hard to get that type of guy. Rob
and you we talk about it every draft. Teams are
just raving about all these quarterback You know, there aren't
gonna be five great quarterbacks in each year.

Speaker 1 (27:14):
You already know it.

Speaker 5 (27:15):
We already know even from that list, Chris, that there's
gonna be about three guys who will knock on a
pan out.

Speaker 1 (27:21):
Oh yeah, yeah.

Speaker 4 (27:23):
And so when you have a guy and he's only
twenty nine years old, Rob, like he's still young, got
a lot of years ahead of him. I think it's
a good move and they're gonna be interesting. I mean
that division, Rob. Last year, you know, the NFC wasn't
wasn't that good, but this year be AFC.

Speaker 1 (27:43):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (27:43):
But around him and the Packers, you know, can they
can they Chris, uh take a step after the last
part of last year when they went to Dallas in
a playoff game and throttled them.

Speaker 1 (27:57):
So those are two teams right now, right.

Speaker 4 (27:59):
I mean you look at the Packers and Lions, Rob,
and you think, okay, they're contenders in the conference.

Speaker 1 (28:04):
And then the.

Speaker 4 (28:05):
Bears are not a mystery, but yeah, they should be better.
And to be honest, Minnesota, Rob is not that bad.
We don't know what the court, but they got look,
the skill positions are are very good. I mean they
they they're similar to Chicago in that they've got a
lot of pieces around their quarterback and the question is

(28:28):
how good would a quarterback be? Right, And everybody's been
raving about JJ McCarthy around the draft.

Speaker 1 (28:34):
So let's see Rob. Let's see what he is going
to be. You know, Saturdays and Sundays are different.

Speaker 4 (28:41):
Yeah, I think they feel like, you know, he's a
paint by numbers guy.

Speaker 13 (28:45):
Right.

Speaker 4 (28:45):
He can he can do you know, follow the script.
He can make on time plays. Uh, he can make
some tough throws. And I think they feel like they'll
plug him in and you know, and he'll be I
think a lot of these teams, Robin, you know, it's
a copycat league, all of them are. But I think
they're looking at rock Party and saying, Okay, you know,

(29:09):
he's got pieces around him and he's played terrifically. Let's
you know, let's see if we can do something like that.
You know, So we will see. But yeah, it's going
to be a good division. And like I said, you agreed.
I like what the the Lions have done.

Speaker 1 (29:26):
They did the right thing. If anything else would have
been dumb, just anything else.

Speaker 7 (29:31):
Yep.

Speaker 1 (29:32):
So uh it is.

Speaker 4 (29:33):
The odd couple Chris and Rob. And Rob can't wait
until the NFL.

Speaker 6 (29:39):
Schedules come out. I think they're talking about Wednesday.

Speaker 4 (29:42):
Oh yeah, they might be our Wednesday. You got with
baited breath. You are waiting that and Shekel City is next.
Keep it a lot, Chris and robbed the eye couple
of Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 3 (29:52):
Fox Sports Radio has the best sports talk lineup in
the nation. Catch all of our shows at foxsports Radio
dot com and within the iHeartRadio app. Search FSR to

Speaker 4 (30:05):
All right, it's the Odd Couple Chris and Rob live
from the tire Rack dot com studios.

Speaker 1 (30:10):
It's time y'all for Shekel City. All right, Shekel City.
Feeling really really good about this Shekel City. I just
I do.

Speaker 5 (30:21):
We posted it earlier, of course on social media. And
my best bet for the night Chris Celtics minus eight
and a half on the road against the Cavs. They're
up by ten about nine minutes to go in the
first half. Celtics minus eight and a half. Also have
the thunder Chris in Dallas. Let's tie this thing up

(30:43):
plus one and a half points at the Mavericks. Wow, okay, yeah,
we've got the Thunder tying this up. And then Blue
Baseball Astros minus one and a half runs, four day
struggling taking on the Oakland A's at home in Houston
Astros minus one and a half runs, the Thunder plus
one one and a half, Chris on the road in Dallas,
and the Celtics minus eight and a half in Cleveland.

Speaker 1 (31:06):
And remember, I'm not telling you who to bet on.
I'm telling you who I bet on.

Speaker 4 (31:12):
All right, well, Rob, The NFL has announced at least
some of its schedule.

Speaker 1 (31:17):
The the opening night game.

Speaker 4 (31:20):
Which will be the champion defending two time defending champion
Kansas City Chiefs Drive facing or hosting the Baltimore Ravens
in a rematch of the AFC championship game. And this

(31:44):
I thought this would be the opening season game when
I saw that Kansas City was hosting.

Speaker 1 (31:50):
This makes sense to me.

Speaker 4 (31:52):
Do you like this for the Ravens, for the Chiefs,
for the NFL?

Speaker 5 (31:57):
Or you think it's not a good eye? No, I
don't have any problem with that game. I mean for
the opener, that's a great game, or rematching all that.
I just Chris the schedule stuff like like, first of all,
we already know, you already know who people are playing,
so it's like the schedule reveal, it just tells you
what days. There's no there's no nothing new here other

(32:19):
than when they're exactly playing. But you already know you
play the division rivals, you know what the other division
you're playing, Like this is all you've already known what
games are being played. Oh, Tom Brady's first game on
Fox is September eight, don't forget about that, as if
we wouldn't be watching where he does all the national games?

Speaker 1 (32:39):
Like are we not watching that game?

Speaker 4 (32:40):
Want to see? Don't you think people want? I know
you don't, but no, but do you think people are
interested in seeing? How he sounds as a broad.

Speaker 1 (32:48):
Of course they do, but I'm saying not like we
wouldn't be watching.

Speaker 5 (32:51):
My only point is the only thing different is the
days we already know, like who's playing who?

Speaker 1 (32:56):
That that's my point, like, is.

Speaker 5 (32:57):
That that's the big schedule reveal, the actual days compared
to if nobody knew what the schedule was and it
was like totally like oblivious and you and you had
no idea from year to year, But you do already know.

Speaker 1 (33:10):
Who you're gonna play.

Speaker 4 (33:11):
That's that's my It's coming out Wednesday night, rib eight
pm Eastern. Yeah, I mean, I I hear you. I'm
not as into it as something. I mean some people
they're gonna have. Yeah, it's all a scheduled.

Speaker 6 (33:27):
So I'm not there.

Speaker 4 (33:28):
But look, rob it's just further evidence that the NFL
is just everything. NFL is gold. I mean, people are
so into the NFL and they keep, you know, taking
over days. Now they're gonna play on Wednesday, Christmas Day,
and that means what Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, Thursday.

Speaker 1 (33:55):
If I'm college football, you better be careful those days.

Speaker 4 (33:58):
Yeah, and they Friday. There is a rule in rob G.
I don't know if you've heard of it, but you
can look it up quickly if you like. You know,
they got like this rule that the NFL cannot play
on Friday nights and that's to protect high school football.

Speaker 1 (34:17):
Have you ever heard that? No, rob G, you ever
heard of that?

Speaker 7 (34:21):
Yes, that's why the Black Friday Game was such a
big deal.

Speaker 1 (34:24):
Is it unwritten rule? It's unwritten rule.

Speaker 4 (34:26):
It's a broadcast rule. Yeah, but they what is it?
They can't put the games on television or that they
can't play.

Speaker 13 (34:35):
It's that they had to leave Friday nights open for
that reason, and that's why they got away with it
last year by playing a matinee game so that they
were actually playing at night.

Speaker 1 (34:46):
I love that.

Speaker 4 (34:48):
I mean, I don't necessarily think they should be playing
all these days that they are, but I love that,
rob because Friday nights, anybody in high school, whether you
played or not, I mean, Friday night, we're big for
high school football, huge, And I'm glad that the NFL

(35:08):
is leaving that alone. And I hope they never get
rid of that rule. But the way things are going,
I'm trying.

Speaker 1 (35:15):
To take it.

Speaker 4 (35:16):
They need to be careful. I don't know that they'll
ever get oversaturated, but it just, you know, because I
look forward to the games. I look forward to the
games Thursday night. I look forward to the Monday night games.

Speaker 5 (35:26):
So I think just depends on if it continues and
they're playing all these games and people on are hurt
more Chris because they're playing, not getting enough rest or
the quality of the game, stuff like that.

Speaker 1 (35:37):
That's where things can happen. Robbed, you will you go.

Speaker 7 (35:39):
There's another one for you guys.

Speaker 13 (35:41):
Now again, the schedule comes out on Wednesday, but they've
been leaking out some of it. People are already upset
about the scheduling because December twenty first is the college
football Playoff. NBC and Fox have both thready announce they
will play NFL games directly.

Speaker 1 (35:56):
Twenty first is what a Saturday? That's what I said currently, See,
I don't like that.

Speaker 6 (36:00):
I don't like that.

Speaker 1 (36:01):
But but that that that's kind of like the NFL.
They don't care.

Speaker 4 (36:05):
I think that's hurting themselves right because their next batch
of players is coming from college.

Speaker 1 (36:11):
Don't care like that? Like that that part right there,
rob G.

Speaker 5 (36:14):
If you're college football, you gotta be pissed, right No,
at that is I don't I.

Speaker 1 (36:21):
Don't care they don't.

Speaker 6 (36:22):
I don't like that at all.

Speaker 4 (36:23):
I don't like that at all because it's just like
I said to me, I mean, I guess they're gonna
make money off of it, so I can't say it's
bad business.

Speaker 5 (36:34):
But they would make the same money if you play
on Friday or I'm not for.

Speaker 13 (36:39):
But they just should be playing on Sunday that weekend.
But in that scenario, what gets better ratings? NFL even
more than the playoffs. So it's gonna be what the
semi final, final four? What are the games in the NFL.
We don't know yet, but we assume if it's a
prime time one of them got to be opposite, right,

(37:00):
I don't think it all depends on one has to
be opposite.

Speaker 7 (37:02):
You know.

Speaker 13 (37:03):
If it's an NBC game, you know, they would probably
they're equivalent of a Sunday night football game and a
Fox I think it on.

Speaker 1 (37:12):
The who the teams are.

Speaker 4 (37:14):
If it's Kansas City Detroit, you know, and I don't
even know if they're playing this year, but I mean, if.

Speaker 13 (37:20):
It's if it's at least Chargers going head to head
with Ohio State Georgia.

Speaker 4 (37:28):
It probably depends on how good the Chargers are. I mean,
I know the Chiefs. You know, obviously they gonna draw.
That's a good question. That's a good question.

Speaker 7 (37:39):
That's that you don't know for college football, right.

Speaker 6 (37:44):
I mean, and and you know everybody, I don't know.

Speaker 7 (37:48):
It's just tough.

Speaker 1 (37:49):
If you only have one or two TVs.

Speaker 6 (37:50):
In your house and they're not in the same you know,
it's just bad. I don't like it at all. Keep
it like we got two hours left a couple
