Speaker 4 (01:36):
I ain't gonna lie know what happened, what I've been doing?

Speaker 5 (01:39):
Why was up late watching the game and got some sleep?

Speaker 6 (01:45):
Probably maybe they give us enough.

Speaker 5 (01:47):
But you know, I do a It's my second job
of the day, so full day. And now I'm walking
rob in the I'm walking now to the train, so
I take I get a car service to the studio
for TV First things first FS one and then I

(02:09):
walk about a mile, almost two miles to Penn station.

Speaker 4 (02:13):
But it's good I need. It's good exercise.

Speaker 1 (02:15):
That is great, walk in, swimming, Chris playing tennis. Those
are the best things you could do for your body.

Speaker 5 (02:21):
Like yeah, because with my schedule now it's very sedentary.
You know, we have our meeting for first things versus
ten am I then you know, I'm getting dressed. Then
I drive in or take the car service into the studio,
prep for the.

Speaker 6 (02:39):
Show, sitting down, do the show, sitting down, and.

Speaker 5 (02:44):
Then typically with drive home sitting down, get home just
in time for the eye couple sitting down, you know
what I'm saying, and then too the clock, watch the
game or go to sleep, you know, and so I
need that walk. I mean, I'm still you know, I
might get up early sometimes and work out, but the
walk is definitely good for me.

Speaker 4 (03:05):
No, that's good.

Speaker 1 (03:06):
I'm hoping to at some point get into back into that.
I've just been caught up with so many things, you know,
that I'm taking care of and trying to make happen.

Speaker 4 (03:16):
I don't have time for anything, to be honest. Yeah, No,
that's the thing.

Speaker 5 (03:20):
Yeah, you get busy, but you gotta make time because
that's important, you know what I mean, that's definitely physical health.

Speaker 4 (03:26):
All right.

Speaker 5 (03:27):
We got the Odd Couple crew, super producer Rob g
Is in the house, DJ Alex tyshit on the ones
and the twos on the updates, the loquations Brian Finley,
and social media are Man Elijah sept Bunya. It is,
of course the trash talking Tuesday, second hour of the show.

Speaker 4 (03:48):
You'll be able to call in.

Speaker 5 (03:49):
You get thirty to forty seconds to trash anyone or
anything in the world of sports, Rob who You're trashing
the Denver Chicken Nuggets?

Speaker 4 (03:59):
Wow? Wyah, we was sad. I mean, come on, Chris, wow.

Speaker 5 (04:04):
Well now you say that, let's get right into it
because that's our topic. So I'm gonna let you go
go ahead and do your trash. Are they done?

Speaker 4 (04:12):
They're down two oh. I set the stage for you.

Speaker 5 (04:16):
They're down two oh, lost the first two games at home, obviously,
need to win four of the next five.

Speaker 7 (04:24):
Robbed.

Speaker 5 (04:25):
Only five times in the history of the NBA Playoffs
has a team come back and won the series after
losing the first two games at home. And so I
ask you, are the Denver as you call them, Chicken
Nuggets done?

Speaker 4 (04:43):
No way? No how? Don't sound like trash talk to me.

Speaker 1 (04:48):
No, But I mean just the performance, because I could
trash the performance. This is a team that won a championship.
This is a team that's been battle tested. And the
young upstart kids and I know they're not all kids,
but the Timberwolves haven't been there yet, haven't done that,
And I'm not going to because the series can easily
turn around with one game.

Speaker 4 (05:09):
It can. If they win Game.

Speaker 1 (05:11):
Three in Minnesota, then you start to think something different
is happening. It's that simple. So I'm not there to
say and have they played their best basketball or played
what I'm used to watching with the Denver Nuggets.

Speaker 4 (05:24):
Absolutely not.

Speaker 1 (05:25):
If they have played their best basketball, Chris, and we're
down two after losing two games at home, I'd be like, oh, yeah,
it doesn't look like there's anything there or any improvement
that can happen or changes or whatever it is, or
can they play better. I'm always afraid of teams that
play their best. I always talk to you about that
game one when the Lakers lost last year in Denver

(05:51):
and ad at the forty piece. You remember, I always
talk about that game because when you play that well
and you don't win, you start to look and go, well,
what game are you really gonna win?

Speaker 6 (06:01):
And what about the opponent making you not play?

Speaker 7 (06:04):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (06:05):
I get that, but I don't think I've seen the
best of the Denver Nuggets. I think there's more to them.
I'm going to the defending champs have to lose four
games before I'm there. I'm just not going to go
down that road.

Speaker 4 (06:18):
Chris.

Speaker 1 (06:19):
It looks daunting, and I know it's different. We talked
about it before the Suns. I think they won their
first two games in the finals at home, and then
they lost the next four. People can lose four games.
It doesn't look like the Timberwolves are ever gonna lose
a game. That's the way that they're playing. They don't
look like they're on a historic run. They're six and

(06:39):
oh in the playoffs, and think of this rap six
and oh against Kevin Durant, Devin Booker, Bradley, Bill, Nikola, Jokic,
and Jamal Murray.

Speaker 4 (06:48):
I mean, it's impressible.

Speaker 5 (06:50):
And they've won four of those games on the road
and by an average of fifteen points.

Speaker 1 (06:55):
You know what they feel like, Chris? What the Texas
Rangers last year? Remember they didn't lose a road game?
They want they won the World Series?

Speaker 4 (07:03):
Yeah, yeah, they didn't lose a road game. I'm gonna
say this to your commentary.

Speaker 8 (07:09):
Stop it, Rob Parker, stop being mealy mouth, stop it.

Speaker 4 (07:17):
You know nine, I don't. I mean, I'm gonna trash them.
They're not done.

Speaker 8 (07:23):
I haven't seen the best of film. Give me something concrete.
The reason they're playing so poorly is because Minnesota has
put it on them. I agree that I have the
heart of champions.

Speaker 5 (07:38):
I have nothing but respect for Jokich and Murray and
Michael Malone and so on and so forth.

Speaker 6 (07:45):
But I think they're in trouble now.

Speaker 4 (07:48):
They may come back.

Speaker 5 (07:48):
I picked Minnesota in seven I don't think it looks
like it's not going seven now, but they may come
back and make it a series. But Rob, I'm just
gonna keep it real. I think Minnesota is better. I
think they're better. They have the size to make it
tough on Yogic. Rob, this is the first time I've

(08:09):
seen Yokic, at least recently, like the last few years,
where now he's still let's keep it real. He's still
averaging twenty four twelve twelve boards and eight and a
half of.

Speaker 4 (08:22):
This right, I mean, it's not being efficient. You're not
being efficient.

Speaker 5 (08:25):
He's only shooting forty twenty percent from three, so he's
not being efficient. But Rob, this is one of the
few times, or certainly the only time recently, that I've
watched him, and it looks like, man, his lack of athleticism,
inability to jump, lack of speed is a problem.

Speaker 6 (08:48):
That's what Minnesota is making him look like.

Speaker 5 (08:50):
I said on TV today, Rob, the Nuggets look like
that suburban team playing a team from the hood for
the first time, and like, oh, what what.

Speaker 4 (09:01):
Do I mean?

Speaker 5 (09:02):
That defense, especially in Game two, has been to nacious,
their athleticism, their length, and beyond that, Rob they've got shooting.
They were the third best three point shooting team in
the league. Uh, and they've got the one spectacular player
that can you know, when all else fails, he can create.

(09:23):
Of course, Anthony Edwards and Rob they really have two
number one options. Karl Anthony Towns is a number one option.
Twenty three points, twelve rebounds, fifty two percent shooting forty
percent from three for.

Speaker 4 (09:37):
His career, not this year, his career.

Speaker 5 (09:43):
He I don't think he's a number one like personality.
I don't think he has that dog of a number
one in him. But he's a number one, got number
one game, kind of like Anthony Davis. You know, I
don't think he has number one mentality, but number.

Speaker 4 (09:58):
One numbers are the numbers speak for himself. Yeah, I
mean he so. So you got to go to guys offensively.

Speaker 5 (10:04):
You got role players that can shoot, they're athletic, they're long,
they're tenacious.

Speaker 4 (10:11):
And here's the other thing.

Speaker 5 (10:12):
And we'll we'll talk about this in detail obviously later
on in the show. But Rob if Jamal Murray is suspended,
and we'll give our opinions on whether or not he
should be later, But Rob, if he suspended for throwing
that heating heating pad at a referee onto the court. Then, man,

(10:34):
they gonna have it's gonna it's hard to see them
winning Game three in Minnesota. And of course Minnesota showed
at least against Phoenix rob that they're not gonna take
their foot off the gas, that they're not gonna let up,
they're not gonna get big headed, they're not gonna, you know.

Speaker 4 (10:50):
Put the cart before the horse.

Speaker 5 (10:52):
That they're not gonna think this thing is over until
it's actually over. So I think that I do think
the Nuggets are done and we'll see.

Speaker 6 (11:03):
The question to me is how competitive they make this thing?

Speaker 1 (11:06):
Yeah, it's just it's the shooting that I don't expect
to continue. Okay, Murray twenty eight point one percent Chris
from the field, Porter shooting forty percent.

Speaker 4 (11:19):
The joker you mentioned forty two percent.

Speaker 1 (11:22):
That's going to continue the entire series, especially when you
look at their playoff career. Yeh, didn't look like it
against the Lakers. He looked pretty good, but I get
it hasn't played defense.

Speaker 5 (11:34):
Man, it makes shoot a little better.

Speaker 1 (11:37):
But jokers average fifty three percent Chris in his career
in the playoffs, Porter forty six and Murray from forty
six to twenty eight is a big drop off and
that's why they were in the hole that they're in.

Speaker 8 (11:48):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (11:49):
But again, and I don't want you to get my
trash caught up with my take. My trash was for
the performance yesterday, okay. But my take is that I
have not thrown in the towel, throw the talent, throw
the talent.

Speaker 4 (12:03):
I'm not throwing the talent yet on the Champs.

Speaker 1 (12:06):
I'm going to let this series play out, and even
in your circumstance. And I get it, Chris, when you
win the first it's the same way. I wouldn't have
counted out, uh the t Wolves if they would have
lost the first.

Speaker 4 (12:17):
Two games at home, I wouldn't have it is real,
it is I want to if they lost the first
two at home.

Speaker 7 (12:24):
No no, no.

Speaker 1 (12:25):
I meant had they lost the first two in Denver,
But that's different. That's no no no. I said that.
I'm just saying I expect this to be a series.

Speaker 4 (12:34):
I expect I expect Denver to fight back. I really do.
I don't think, Uh, this is and now you know
what I.

Speaker 5 (12:44):
Like all this, all this Michael Malone going crazy and
I don't know what in the world has gotten into
Jamal Murray.

Speaker 6 (12:54):
And I'm not like some of the.

Speaker 1 (12:56):
Ravens throwing helmets during the She Traded Man.

Speaker 5 (13:01):
They look frustrated and they are frustrated, and it's understandable
why these dudes are swarming them.

Speaker 7 (13:09):
Rob.

Speaker 5 (13:10):
They got the number one defense in the league by
a mile. I mean, they were at number one by
like two points, which is a big deal in the league.
And last night without the defensive Player of the Year,
they held them for the thirty five percent shooting below
thirty five percent, So.

Speaker 6 (13:29):
I mean I agree that I think will shoot it
a little better.

Speaker 4 (13:32):
On God Bear's baby.

Speaker 5 (13:33):
Congrats, Congratulations to Rudy Gobert's baby and to he just
won Defensive Player of the Year. Rob ties the record
for more time Ben Wallace and to ken Ba Mtumba
four time. Those are the three four time defensive Players
of the Year.

Speaker 1 (13:50):
I'm not surprised, Chris. I know you voted for Wemby,
but you didn't think he was gonna win. You didn't
even I think Wenby deserved it. I think last night
kind of was like, Wow, they that good. They just
a great defensive team. Now go Bear is great. I
have no problem with he winning it rock because he
is a very good so many games that don't matter,
I think that hurt him.

Speaker 5 (14:11):
I think a lot of some people probably took I
think they held the record against them. I think the
eight team, maybe eighteen straight L's rookie, you know all
that stuff. But yeah, but yeah, I congratulations, go Beart
on both fronts.

Speaker 4 (14:25):
And that's awesome, man. And he wasn't crazy for staying
home with the baby in the.

Speaker 5 (14:30):
First No, and I don't And I think it's to
each his own. I gotta be honest. And I was
there for the birth of my twins. I named them.
I mean my wife we had picked the names before,
but I actually had was holding them. She's like out
and I'm holding him and I said, this is Noel and.

Speaker 4 (14:47):
This one's wow. Yeah.

Speaker 6 (14:50):
But I can't honestly say, like, would I have played.

Speaker 4 (14:55):
I might have.

Speaker 5 (14:57):
I'm not gonna rip a guy. It's your decision, but
I I don't know. I mean, you know, I always
have respective I wouldn't mind.

Speaker 4 (15:07):
I'm not saying I wouldn't have played.

Speaker 1 (15:08):
And in those moments and those moments, you have a right,
uh to to what's going to be long lasting in
your life, the life of your child or your career
and a game. And just like Sandy Kopax when he
pitched for the Dodgers, Remember they didn't pitch in the
Jewish holidays. He just those were religious holidays. To Sandy Kopax,

(15:30):
and if it fell on up Jewish holiday, he did
not pitch.

Speaker 4 (15:33):
It was just as simple.

Speaker 5 (15:35):
Yeah, yeah, I wouldn't have judged him either way. Like
I said, I I don't know what I would have done,
but I think it's more important to raise your child.
That's the biggest part than just being there for the birth.
But that's important too, And I was a great moment.
We got pictures obviously and everything.

Speaker 1 (15:55):
And and the other thing too is I think if
your Rudy Gobert and Chris, I've never had a kid,
I practice a lot.

Speaker 4 (16:02):
It just as it happened.

Speaker 1 (16:03):
But I say, you know what, if there, if there's
a complication or something goes wrong, you will never you
know what I mean, And you're not there.

Speaker 6 (16:13):
Yeah, that's your true that would be Chris.

Speaker 5 (16:16):
Am I right that you really have to you have
to make sure your wife is totally good.

Speaker 4 (16:20):
Do you know what I mean?

Speaker 5 (16:21):
Like, but Also, like you said, even if she's good
with it, if something goes wrong, it could change her mind.

Speaker 4 (16:27):
So that that's a great point.

Speaker 7 (16:29):
All right?

Speaker 5 (16:29):
Eight seven seven ninety nine or Fox simple question for you?
Are the Nuggets done? Eight seven seven nine nine six
sixty three sixty nine A couple of Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 2 (16:38):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Odd Couple
with Chris Brussard and Rob Parker weekdays at seven pm
Eastern four pm Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the
iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 1 (16:50):
Hey, this is Tom Berducci from Fox Sports, MLB Networking,
Sports Illustrated, and I'm Joe Madden, and we're going to
be around to talk a little bit about managerial decisions
may have a to the dugout, maybe in the nineteen eighties.

Speaker 4 (17:02):
It's the Book of Joe podcast. I can't wait for this, Joe.

Speaker 1 (17:05):
We're going to dive into what goes on in the
dugout and behind the scenes in Major League Baseball, cars,
wind whatever else we want to talk about.

Speaker 4 (17:11):
Yeah, well, there are no boundaries, right.

Speaker 1 (17:13):
Listen to the Book of Joe podcast on the iHeartRadio app,
on Apple Podcasts or wherever you get your podcasts.

Speaker 5 (17:20):
All Right, it's the Odd Couple live from the tire
rag dot Com Studios. DJ Alex tysher it all up
in the crates, all right, I like you. Rob Damal
Murray is fined one hundred thousand dollars for throwing the
heat pad at the referee and it went on to

(17:40):
the court.

Speaker 6 (17:42):
Uh, he will not be suspended.

Speaker 4 (17:44):
So we'll get into the shock by that.

Speaker 5 (17:46):
Either I don't agree with the decision, the fan and
me's happy. I hate to see, you know, a game
or a series determined by something like you know, in availability,
whether it's injury or something like this. But I think
that was a suspendable offense period. I don't even think

(18:08):
it's a question. But we'll get into more of that.

Speaker 4 (18:10):
We'll talk about it. I think it made the right decision.

Speaker 5 (18:13):
Eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox, you'll turn the
way in. Are the Nuggets toast or do they still
have life?

Speaker 1 (18:20):
Your thoughts Raymond and Milwaukee. You're on the odd Couple
of Fox Sports Radio. What's up Raymond?

Speaker 7 (18:25):
Hey? What's up? Rob?

Speaker 5 (18:26):
What's up?

Speaker 9 (18:27):
Chriz?

Speaker 1 (18:28):
How you? I don't think they're done.

Speaker 9 (18:32):
I believe all they have to do is just get
one in Minnesota to get it back to Denver.

Speaker 7 (18:38):
I want to see man Edwards. Everybody has him with
this Jordan comparison. I want to see him.

Speaker 9 (18:46):
In a close out, either home game or road game.

Speaker 7 (18:52):
I want to see it.

Speaker 5 (18:53):
You did you watch the last series because he had
to close out the Phoenix Suns.

Speaker 9 (19:00):
Yeah, but.

Speaker 7 (19:03):
Not the Raining Champions.

Speaker 4 (19:05):
Okay, but they do have you know, two Hall of famers. Yeah,
I hear you, Raymond.

Speaker 1 (19:12):
I mean, I hear you, but I'm just saying right,
I hear you.

Speaker 7 (19:16):
You're right.

Speaker 9 (19:18):
You're both right. But they don't have like the They're
not right.

Speaker 4 (19:28):
They're not they haven't been there yet, they haven't been
to the mountaintop.

Speaker 1 (19:31):
There's a big difference, and people sometimes can falter on their.

Speaker 4 (19:35):
Way and you look like they're not going to lose
a game. We talked about it before.

Speaker 1 (19:39):
We've seen teams win the first couple of games in
the series, not usually Chris giving it up at home,
but win a couple of games.

Speaker 4 (19:45):
And still not win a series.

Speaker 7 (19:47):
Not.

Speaker 4 (19:48):
It's not automatic.

Speaker 1 (19:49):
It doesn't mean everybody who's up to h when the
series wins every single time.

Speaker 4 (19:54):
No, it doesn't happen that.

Speaker 1 (19:56):
That's that's what you need to look at no matter
where the games are.

Speaker 4 (19:59):
But it just doesn't happen all the time.

Speaker 1 (20:01):
Marty in Kentucky, you're in the odd couple of Fox
Sports Radio.

Speaker 4 (20:05):
What's up, Marty? What y'all doing great? How's River doing?
Is he in college yet? I'm just we've been on
the air so long.

Speaker 9 (20:14):
Nah Rivers Rivers nine and right now he loves Fortnite
fitching in basketball. Yeah, he turned on the basketball lightly,
so I'm kind of getting excited. He's got a good
looking shot on him.

Speaker 4 (20:26):
Oh that's very nice, very nice for the River.

Speaker 9 (20:28):
I gotta get him to work on the dribble and
the defense. He's got catching up.

Speaker 6 (20:32):
He gotta work on that handle.

Speaker 4 (20:33):
Yeah a hand. Are you coaching, Marty? You coaching his
team or not.

Speaker 9 (20:37):
I will not coach his team unless he gets older.
I tried to coach him as in the first but
that's was great and I was way too intense.

Speaker 1 (20:46):
That's what I thought. That's what I thought that you
were coaching. I remember that early on, and sometimes it's
not good for your dad to coach you.

Speaker 9 (20:53):
Sometimes I have a chance in coaching baseball and soccer
because I'm not that intense when I get on the
basketball floor. Another part of me comes out, and it's
way too intense for kids. You gotta know what you're
not made for, right, But Fellas, I'm as far as
the series goes.

Speaker 6 (21:11):
I ain't gonna lie.

Speaker 7 (21:12):
I picked Denver.

Speaker 9 (21:13):
People have been asking me for weeks for mine till
you think, and I've said I think until I see
somebody come up with a defensive scheme that can keep
Denver from doing what they want to do. I'm sticking
with Denver. Well, I have seen that, Rob Parker. If
you knew how to tell when something was over before
it's over, you would have never said I do because

(21:34):
this thing is over.

Speaker 4 (21:38):
Wow, Marty, you know what played, Marty?

Speaker 1 (21:40):
You want, Marty, you want to pour more salt in
my would because I don't have a wife and you're
married and kids and you gotta picking fence in Kentucky.
You're gonna do that to me and make me feel
like less of a man, Marty.

Speaker 9 (21:53):
I apologize, Mob. I watched the Tom Brady roast and
I'm just I'm just.

Speaker 5 (21:57):
You're in the spirit, You're in that spirit, You're in
good that we're good, Marty, Marty, I've never been happier,
Can I tell you that never been happier.

Speaker 4 (22:05):
Thank you.

Speaker 9 (22:06):
That's hear Ro.

Speaker 5 (22:19):
Former NFL offensive lineman now Fox Sports Radio Weekend hosts
joins the I couple.

Speaker 4 (22:25):
Ephraim what I brother from. Let's talk. There are a
lot of NBA to talk.

Speaker 5 (22:31):
Let's start with the fact that Jamal Murray's not suspended
for hurling that heating pad at an officially also through
a towel that didn't reach him.

Speaker 6 (22:41):
But I'm the fan of me. Is glad Murray's not suspended.

Speaker 5 (22:46):
But if that's not a suspendable action, I don't know
what is.

Speaker 4 (22:51):
I think that you gotta suspend him for that.

Speaker 1 (22:55):
What are your thoughts on that? And I, from my disagree.
I think that the rule is clear to tech Nicole.
It's not even even.

Speaker 5 (23:01):
If there's no rule, yeah rule for that, because they
say it says you don't do it.

Speaker 1 (23:07):
It's a technical if they saw him do it at
the time when they did so. If it's just a technical, there's.

Speaker 4 (23:13):
Nowhere you're going to get a suspension for that. But
go ahead of you.

Speaker 7 (23:15):
From your your take, I get where both of you
guys are coming from. But as an athlete, it wasn't
like it was a timeout and he threw the heating
pad on you know at the at the referee correct,
It wasn't like.

Speaker 6 (23:32):
Darned there to players darn near landed on it.

Speaker 7 (23:35):
They were playing. It was in the course of action.
This man threw a heating pad on the court while
people were jumping, rebound and doing all that. Now, let
me just ask you this, Rob and this is the
what if game, And I know what ifs or whatever,
but punishments are or what if right, Because when you

(23:56):
punish somebody, you say, what if this would have happened? Right?
So what if you're going up for a rebound, you
come down, you step on that and it just takes
your foot from right under you, you pull your quad,
your hamstring, your knee, whatever the injury is, and now
you're out for the series and maybe the start of
next year. Then would it be suspendable.

Speaker 1 (24:18):
Yeah, he from I hear your point, But the only
issue I have, the only issue I have is by rule,
even if they had seen it at the time, it's
a technical that it's not an automatic ejection. If it
was an order, If you told me it was an
automatic ejection and they didn't see it and they found
out later, then Joy should be suspended.

Speaker 7 (24:39):
Happened in the game. I'm not talking about what happened
in the game. I'm talking about the NBA and the
NBA offices, and they're going back and reviewing the tape,
just like we got to see last night. Right they
so eloquently pointed out, Oh, it was Jamal Murray. So
once the NBA found that out, one hundred thousand dollars,
it's not a lot of money to Jamal Murray.

Speaker 4 (25:00):
He's from you.

Speaker 7 (25:02):
Wait, just wait, just old on, man. So what I'm
saying is you just paying for bad behavior. That's not
a deterrent. Guys take they take the liberties and they'll
pay that little money. But when somebody does so something
is egregious as what he did, you must be punished.

(25:23):
I was expecting a one game suspension. I thought that
that definitely called for one game. Man, that was so reckless.
I have never seen anything like that before.

Speaker 4 (25:33):
From from you.

Speaker 1 (25:34):
Talk about money, do you think the NBA wants this
series to be over in four games. Okay, all right,
that's why they did No, I'm telling you that the
penalty the way it stated, Chris is that you don't
automatically get ejected. But I'm just saying, when they look
at it, there's no way they want this thing to
be over.

Speaker 4 (25:53):
And if he's not playing, it's going to be over.

Speaker 7 (25:56):
I just think that's anyway.

Speaker 4 (25:58):
But I'm but I'm saying that, let's move on to that.

Speaker 5 (26:02):
Then, So you think the Nuggets I picked the t
Wolves in seven. I mean, obviously it doesn't look like
it's going seven now, But do you think you think
the Nuggets are done?

Speaker 7 (26:12):
And why I think the Nuggets will get swept And
I'll tell you why. It has nothing to do with
with you know, the Joker and and and Murray. It
has nothing to do with any of that. What it
has to do is the Denver Nuggets haven't faced that
type of defense ever. I don't believe the fact that
you didn't have the arguably the defensive player of the

(26:34):
year on the court. And that's it really looked like
it was six or seven Timberwolves out there on that
court right like that energy imagine them now playing at
Sea level. Right, imagine them not now playing in altitude
and the type of energy that they can bring with
the home court and all of that. Brother, they're in trouble.

(26:57):
The thing that Denver does is, yeah, they always start
so especially at home, but they know the third fourth
quarter that altitude really kicks in. As somebody who played
there and played for the Broncos and played against the
Broncos there, it does wear down or it wears you
down as a player. And if the Minnesota Timberwoods can

(27:19):
play that hard for that long and that altitude, it
doesn't have a chose. They don't have a chance over.

Speaker 1 (27:27):
What do you make on the what do you make
on the calls at the end of the knickt Pacers?

Speaker 4 (27:33):
I mean that.

Speaker 1 (27:35):
Too many reports out that blew another two calls that
helped the Knicks win. I mean, how many times have
we got to watch, uh, these kind of things with officials?

Speaker 4 (27:45):
What do you do?

Speaker 1 (27:45):
I'm not into robots and all the other all that stuff,
but I want people to be held accountable.

Speaker 4 (27:52):
Forget about the two manute report.

Speaker 1 (27:53):
How about demoting or firing refs who continue to make
bad calls?

Speaker 7 (27:58):
Well, I think it should be a healthy fine, right,
if you're going to have a job where the outcomes
of things are based on can be based on your
calls or no calls, then yeah, I think if you
miss something as glaring and as blatant as that, you
should be fined accordingly. And of course it affects your
great moving forward. I think those things should be implemented.

(28:21):
But whenever you're dealing with the game, and human error
is such a huge part of it. You know, nobody
wants to see robots zooming up and down. That's ridiculous.
But you can't affect the end of games like that.
I mean, that was That game was amazing. That was
probably the best playoff game we've had so far. I mean,

(28:42):
it was musty TV going back and forth. The skill
level and the energy and effort they were putting forth
was amazing. And to have it in marked by two calls,
I mean not.

Speaker 1 (28:54):
One, two and Philly got job too, Chris and the
Garden with two calls.

Speaker 7 (28:58):
Yeah, yeah.

Speaker 6 (28:59):
Now, the NBA confirmed that. They they said.

Speaker 5 (29:02):
The screen was fine, that Miles Turner and maybe by
the letter of the law it was. But you don't
to me.

Speaker 4 (29:09):
That's ridiculous.

Speaker 5 (29:10):
Nah, In that moment, you do not they do that
every trip down the floor.

Speaker 4 (29:15):
That's terrible.

Speaker 5 (29:16):
Seriously, that's like if you call a Pauman at that point,
it's like, hold on, dude's a Paul Mean fall game
and now you want to call it, come on, look.

Speaker 7 (29:25):
But if you do make that call, you should have
the ability to go to the monitor and get it right. Yeah,
that's how important it is, right.

Speaker 4 (29:33):
Right, all right?

Speaker 5 (29:34):
Ephraim written with Jalen Brunson. A lot of people now
saying he's a superstar. He's on a historic run, joins
Michael Jordan, Jerry West, and Bernard King as the only
players ever to have four straight playoff games of forty
or more points. Rob and I still feel like he

(29:55):
is not yet a superstar. He may be one day
and maybe one day soon, but we're not not ready
to give him that title yet. A lot of people
are New Yorkers are killing me because I'm not where
are you at on, Jalen Brunton As far as being
a superstar.

Speaker 7 (30:09):
Well, Jaylen Brunson as a superstar. It was a superstar
two years ago. But he took what World by storm
with hold On, hold On Man when he was playing
with the Dallas Mavericks opposite Luca. You knew that was
the beginning, right, Like you're talking about him at that point.
He's progressed since then last year what he was able
to do with the Knicks and then this year. If

(30:31):
you just watch him play, he has superstar. He is it.
He has superstar written all over him period. Like his
body controlled his ability to get any shot, to get
his teammates involved, to take on at his height and size. Right,
we're talking about New York.

Speaker 5 (30:51):
We're talking about how many superstars superstars do you have
in the NBA and under your under your definition.

Speaker 1 (30:59):
All one hundred and five fifty, I mean how many superstars?

Speaker 7 (31:03):
No, no, no, it's very very few superstars. To me,
just put somebody's face on the side of the bid building.
Somebody will know who that is. That's a superstar. Nah,
but in the number one media market.

Speaker 5 (31:16):
But that's we're taking that out of Like we're just saying,
as far as your basketball.

Speaker 4 (31:21):
Ability, so are you a superstar?

Speaker 1 (31:24):
So if the if the Knicks lose this series, right,
he's a superstar.

Speaker 4 (31:30):
Next year he's a superstar. Yes, Okay, wow.

Speaker 7 (31:35):
I don't know what the man has to do to
become a superstar.

Speaker 4 (31:40):
It's not about playing well.

Speaker 5 (31:42):
I think he has the right. He has to win more.
And I'm not even saying the championship. Everybody that have
to do that to me because his pedigree is not impressive,
you know, relatively speaking, second round pick, first four years
in the league, hold on the first four league and
as a role first four years in the league is
a role player. You you have to uh Bridge's mv.

Speaker 7 (32:07):
More.

Speaker 5 (32:09):
You know, I'm gonna hold you to a higher standard
before I give you a superstar than the first round.
You know, the lottery pick that comes right into the
league and does damage.

Speaker 2 (32:17):
But we gotta run get it.

Speaker 7 (32:19):
Yeah, I mean in terms of him not having m
vps and all of that. Before Joel indeed had his
m VP last year, he was a superstar.

Speaker 6 (32:26):
I agree, And I think be still is a superstar.

Speaker 5 (32:29):
And he's been beaten by Brunton in the playoffs just now,
but I.

Speaker 4 (32:33):
Think he's still.

Speaker 7 (32:35):
Yes, of course, yes have an m v P.

Speaker 5 (32:38):
No, but their games I don't see that. Yeah, we
got it. We gotta run.

Speaker 6 (32:43):
I'll get you on the air.

Speaker 4 (32:45):
Robb's trying to take vacation. I might might whoop you
up a little bit. When Rob.

Speaker 7 (32:49):
First of all, let's elevated. We're gonna elevate when when
I get up in there.

Speaker 5 (32:53):
Man, all right, that's alright man from salib More Couple

Speaker 5 (33:14):
He must have heard Mary Mary been rocking the house
in his absence, so he coming back hard.

Speaker 1 (33:19):
Okay, okay, okay, you got some new stuff too, out Yeah, yeah.

Speaker 4 (33:24):
Well, I've been excavating the world for new music. He's
in love now.

Speaker 5 (33:28):
So you know we are live from the tie right
dot com studios this time.

Speaker 4 (33:32):
I was in love once to Alex, I'm just.

Speaker 2 (33:34):
Saying two Shekel City the home base for Rob Parker's
day Dix against the spread.

Speaker 1 (33:47):
All right, here we go a little Shekel City two
and one. Last night I lost the Denver game, got
the other two white. We're gonna do a basketball and
two baseball Chris, best bet I'm taking the Mets plus
one and a half runs in Saint Louis to take
on the Cardinals, Mets plus one and a half. Dodgers
host the Marlins tonight in Los Angeles. I got the

(34:08):
Dodgers minus two and a half runs hosting the Marlins
only ten wins on the season. I'm gonna go there
on the Wednesday day game tomorrow. Check them out. And
in basketball, I'm taking Dallas plus four and a half
at OKC. I have OKC winning the game, but Dallas covering.

Speaker 4 (34:29):
With the four and a half points.

Speaker 1 (34:30):
So I'm expecting a close one a barn burner, and
I expect Dallas to cover with four and a half.
Dodgers minus two and a half runs Mets plus one
and a half runs. And remember, I'm not telling you
who to bet on. I'm telling you who I bet on.

Speaker 5 (34:46):
All right, quickly, raph let's go to Miami. Pat Riley
spoke yesterday end of the year conference. I don't know
if it's yesterday the day before, but end of the
year press conference. And here's what he said about Jimmy
but Jimmy Butler, he's got two years left on this deal,
but once a contract extension.

Speaker 4 (35:04):
Here's what pat Rally said.

Speaker 10 (35:05):
Yeh for him to say that, you know, I thought
is that Jimmy trolling or is that Jimmy serious? You know,
if you're not on the court playing against Boston around
the court playing against the New York next year, should
keep your mouth up shut.

Speaker 6 (35:21):
All right?

Speaker 4 (35:21):
That was this.

Speaker 5 (35:22):
I didn't think that was what's coming. That was him
referencing Jimmy Butler said, uh to tweeted or something that
if he were playing Boston and New York would both
be home.

Speaker 4 (35:34):
I agree with Pat rally, like.

Speaker 1 (35:35):
Dude, please, nobody, nobody wants to hear that, exactly, like
stop it to hear that.

Speaker 4 (35:40):
You're not playing so you can't do anything.

Speaker 5 (35:43):
So, yeah, exactly, So here and Rob, when he was
asked about the extension, he said, well, a lot of
it depends on you know, you have to be healthy
and available for the extension will be based on some
of that.

Speaker 7 (35:58):
Rob.

Speaker 5 (35:58):
If I'm the heat, I've got him for two years,
he's locked up one year.

Speaker 4 (36:02):
Last year's a player option.

Speaker 6 (36:04):
I'm like, no, No, you're.

Speaker 4 (36:06):
Thirty four years old.

Speaker 5 (36:07):
You'll be thirty five, you know when next season, early
into next season. You haven't played sixty five games since
twenty nineteen.

Speaker 4 (36:18):
Has it been that long while?

Speaker 7 (36:20):
Yeah?

Speaker 5 (36:20):
Since he played sixty five games and you're unavailable for
a lot of the playoffs. And then there's a feeling
that when he does play rob he's you know, half
the time in the regular season.

Speaker 6 (36:31):
We know he's dope in the playoffs, but sometimes in the.

Speaker 5 (36:33):
Regular season he's not giving full leftfort I mean, and
he may make a stink. Remember that's how he got
out of Minnesota. But I'm like, we're not winning championships.

Speaker 4 (36:41):
It doesn't matter.

Speaker 1 (36:42):
You already know what they do in Miami. You could
make a stink all you want. They don't care. I mean,
they don't And Lebron wasn't happy when they didn't do
what he wanted.

Speaker 4 (36:51):
They let him leave. They'll let yeah, they'll let people leave.
Jimmy boy. They wanted to keep Lebron. They tried to
keep him, but I mean.

Speaker 1 (37:00):
But obviously they didn't want them enough because they didn't
want enough.

Speaker 4 (37:04):
But but didn't he nothing to do with Foster.

Speaker 5 (37:07):
By that point, they had won two championships. Now that
was his first year in Miami. I'm talking about his
you know, he played three three more years there win championships.
So he just wanted to get back to Cleveland. But
what is your would you would you resign, you know, extend,
but not not at this point.

Speaker 4 (37:25):
There's no reason to. I'll just play it out.

Speaker 1 (37:28):
Let me see next year talk about right, Yeah, I
mean I would just want to see. I just want
to like, there's no rush. You got two years. Next
year is my year to look and if you don't
like it, you could bounce out to They didn't want it.
It's not like they won two championships. And I'm not
trying to pool his his ability of what he's done.
But when you when you don't win, it's not like,

(37:48):
well you can't well you can't not win without somebody
because you didn't win with them.

Speaker 4 (37:53):
It's the difference. It just sounds cold, but it's reality.

Speaker 9 (37:57):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (37:58):
A lot of talk that Philly should go after I
don't know, because my concern if I was another team.
He's a great player, but he's hurt a lot and
Philly MB's hurt a lot too. So that's be two
of your top guys, all right, keep it a locked
a couple
