at Progressive dot Calm All right, Rob, last night, Uh,
(01:16):
we had a foot Monday night game that you said
it you you took the Vikings and the points and
you won money because they gave you more than the points.
They they got won the game right.
Speaker 3 (01:28):
Right, victory.
Speaker 4 (01:29):
I just thought that they would cover, you know what,
I mean that what was the spread?
Speaker 5 (01:33):
Was it?
Speaker 3 (01:33):
Seven seven points?
Speaker 4 (01:34):
Which on the road, Just just thinking that the forty
nine ers would bounce back after their bad right after
their bad clean to Cleveland.
Speaker 1 (01:44):
Yeah, and they did anything. But Vikings win twenty two
to seventeen. And look, the forty nine ers vaunted defense
was horrific. Kirk Cousins looked like, uh, Captain Kirk, I
can space age right, thank you? Like it was from
(02:08):
another world, right. I mean, he was rob That might
have been the best game of his career. I mean primetime.
Speaker 3 (02:18):
I was gonna say he played so poorly in prime time.
It was shocking to watch.
Speaker 1 (02:23):
Three hundred and seventy eight yards passing two touchdowns, a pick,
thirty five for forty five. But he was fantastic. And
you know, we know the Niners have a great defense,
but last night they just they had nothing.
Speaker 4 (02:34):
To We talked about it earlier, Chris. They couldn't stop
them on third down. I mean it's no you know
that that was that was the buggaboo all night.
Speaker 1 (02:42):
Yep, they only stopped. They only forced one punt Rob,
So I thought the defense was the Niners' biggest problem.
I thought brock Purty played solid, not great, but he
played a solid game through the first three quarters and
then and then the fourth quarter he fell apart, had
two picks in the last five and a half minutes,
(03:05):
finished twenty one for thirty two hundred and seventy two yards.
That's seventy percent nine point one yards per attempt. So
that's what I mean by he was playing well. But
again he has the two interceptions late, only throws to
one touchdown and coming off the Cleveland game, which was
really the worst game of his career, Rob in that
(03:26):
when he was twelve for twenty seven, one hundred and
twenty five yards, one touchdown, one pick. So last two
games he's got two touchdowns, three interceptions. After their blowout
of Dallas when they were five and zero, I thought
he was the MVP at that point. Some people were
saying he was like Joe Montana, others bringing up Tom Brady.
(03:49):
The hype was through the roof, and now there are
some people certainly stepping off that bandwagon. If not saying
he's Fugaysey altogether. So what is your take on rock
Purdy at this point?
Speaker 4 (04:03):
Now, I think this is the other shoe that was
gonna drop eventually because people kept saying and that's why
all that stuff was premature. Chris, and as well as
he played and no one's taking that away from him,
it was still less than the season. One full season
at this point, he hasn't even played started twelve games.
Speaker 3 (04:24):
He's right, okay, Like it's just not enough.
Speaker 4 (04:29):
They're just not enough to be able to crown anybody
from that amount of time. And this is what we
kept talking about. This is what I was saying to
fans about that at some point, like he could play
well during the regular season, if he has a bad
game in the playoffs, they lose or whatever. People say, see,
I know he's not that guy or whatever. Because it's
(04:50):
so hard to believe that everybody got it wrong, that
you're the last pick in the NFL. Everybody missed on you,
nobody knew what you were doing, even though there was
film on you.
Speaker 3 (05:01):
Even though that people could.
Speaker 4 (05:02):
Do all the research and get a diamond in the rough.
We talk about it and how in the world did
NFL scouts miss it so badly. And I'm not sitting
here telling you he's a bomb. He can't play, But
I think what we've seen the last couple of weeks,
we might start to see, especially if he doesn't have
all of his weapons. Last night, for forty nine Ers fans,
(05:25):
they had to be sick to see him throw two
picks Chris in the final five and a half minutes
in a game that they had a chance to win.
Speaker 1 (05:33):
You know, yeah, well, I think look, he's already had
some good playoff games, you know, his debut against Seattle.
Speaker 3 (05:42):
No, I'm not saying that.
Speaker 4 (05:44):
I'm saying, but once if they don't get to where
they're supposed to, or they lose, or they lose in
the Super Bowl, because he has two picks, they'll always
go back because because he wasn't.
Speaker 3 (05:55):
A Blue Chipper, they'll always go back to that.
Speaker 4 (05:58):
Rather than saying I'm not saying everybody could, I'm saying, right,
some people will always go back to that. See I
told you he really won that guy, or he fooled
us all this time and when it really came down
to it, he couldn't make the plays that we needed
to win the Super Bowl not fair or unfair. I
think it's unfair, but that's what the narrative would be.
(06:19):
If he doesn't finish the job, play really well during
the regular season, and don't win the Super Bowl.
Speaker 1 (06:25):
I think there'll be some of that for sure. I
mean at this point, and again, I do think it's
too early to call him elite, but he if he
robbed with what he did, winning his first ten games,
having the highest passer rating in the history of the league.
To your point, if he had been a first or
(06:47):
even second round pick, I think people would have been
praising him to high heaven, like if Trey Lance had
done what brock.
Speaker 3 (06:55):
Purty, no doubt about it.
Speaker 1 (06:58):
He's a Hall of Famer in the future. And so
I agree with you there, But I think I would
say this it shouldn't be And I'm not trying to
rip NFL scouts because obviously they get they know more
about the game than we do. We're not saying that
that's not true, but they get and they get a
lot right, but they also get a lot wrong. And Rob,
We've done it before. But I mean JaMarcus Russell, Cardel Jones,
(07:25):
Marcus Marrio to Sam Darnold, Zach Wilson. We could go
on and on about the top picks Josh Rose and
a tenth pick that have not panned out, and so
it's not that difficult, especially when you look at the
Tom Brady and even a Dak Prescott who was a
fourth round pick. You know, guys that weren't expected to
(07:47):
do anything and have turned out to be really good quarterbacks.
And we could name even more than those two. So
I don't really hold it against him that he was
mister Irrelevant. But you know, I actually think Rob that
this is actually good for him. Now it may drowning,
(08:09):
he may get expelled, I don't think so. I believe
in him to be at least a good quarterback. But
this stretch of games that he's going through I think
will kind of make or break him in that regard.
Because Rob, you knew adversity was coming, right, I mean,
(08:30):
it was just too easy, it came too fast. First
ten games he starts, he wins, he beats Tom Brady,
he wins two playoff games, throws for three hundred yards
and three touchdowns in his first playoff game, has the
highest passer rating in the history of football. And as
I said, people comparing him to Montana and Brady like
(08:53):
it was just everything he touched was turning the goal.
Last night, Rob was his first game with two interceptions.
And so I think he needs to go through this
because you talked about getting the Niners where they want
to go, which is of course winning the super Bowl.
(09:13):
That's not gonna be easy. And so he needs some adversity.
I don't just mean endgame that too, but I mean
he needs to show what he's made of and this
is the opportunity for him to do that. So this
will make or break him. I think it'll make him
in terms of him being a good quarterback.
Speaker 6 (09:33):
But this is.
Speaker 1 (09:33):
Something that he's gonna have to go through, Rock because
everybody's gone through it.
Speaker 4 (09:38):
Yeah, everybody does go through it, and people struggle or whatever.
I just think that he's on a different He's just
in a different on a different island, chrisch Because even
when you talk about the guys who you know, were
number one picks or top picks and they failed or
things didn't go you know, their way, or they got
a bad career, it just wasn't a guy who that
(09:59):
many people overlooked, you know, to I mean a sixth
round pick No, I know, but even he has one
more round. Yeah, but if you even look at Brady,
look at what he really did at Michigan. You remember
he lost the job to Drew Henson. I mean, like, right,
but that's what I'm saying, like, like he didn't do
anything in college to where I think people should have
(10:21):
thought of Brady any higher.
Speaker 1 (10:22):
And especially I mean, I mean, Perdy was solid, he
was good at Iowas State, but his numbers aren't eye
popping either.
Speaker 4 (10:30):
No, no, no, right, And I'm just saying like there's
to me, I just get to feel like he's playing
a different hand because of his background, and people are
waiting I see on Twitter and everything, like they go
at him as soon as he has bad games. Oh yeah,
because people don't really want to believe in him yet.
And I think the only way people will believe in him,
(10:52):
and I notice is harsh, it's for him to win
the Super Bowl. I think anything less than that he
can play well. If he he doesn't have, if he
has bad games or they losing the playoffs in the
NFC Championship game or losing the Super Bowl, and he
plays poorly or has a bad game, it will come
back to him and.
Speaker 3 (11:11):
Well, that's just because of where his beginnings come from.
Speaker 1 (11:14):
I think it's that I agree with you that because
he was mister relevant, not a big name out of college. People. Look,
it is a higher bar for you to prove, you
know the people that you're legit. I give you that.
And I also think Rob, just the fact that the
Niners have already been to the Super Bowl with Jimmy
(11:34):
g Right, and so it's like getting there's not enough.
They're going to have to win it.
Speaker 4 (11:42):
They have to win anything, and for him to be
the quarterback on that team, that's the only thing they're
going to accept to say, you know what I mean,
like that they are at that point, and if fair
or unfair, I think that's where he is.
Speaker 3 (11:55):
He's pigeonholed into.
Speaker 1 (11:56):
That nick right throughout our first thing, first to day,
he did throw out an idea that I thought was
a great one because even as as I like Brock
Purty and believe in him, but he said, because you know, Rob,
you saw Kirk Cousins last night. You know his relationship
with Kyle Shanahan from Washington and the Vikings. I mean,
(12:19):
now they might actually be putting something together. But he
was talking about the Niners trading for maybe Brock Purty
for kirk Cousins if the if the Vikings want to
go in a whole different direction, kirk Cousins, Rob on
that Niners team. As much as I like Purdy, there's
no doubt kirk Cousins is better. I love that idea.
(12:42):
If I'm the Niners, and and certainly uh cousin.
Speaker 4 (12:49):
Minnesota won't do anything until until the season's over, you know,
like they know that they're out of it, but they're three.
Speaker 1 (12:55):
Well now they're they're right there and they're the A
seed right now, Robin. That's what I'm sorry in the
in the n FCFC that I don't they're not a
I don't they they're not a Super Bowl contender. But
could they make the playoffs yet? Rob, They're going to
battle a team in the NFC UH North South for
(13:18):
that seventh playoff spot. I believe, I believe. I believe
there's five surefire playoff teams in the NFC Dallas, Philly,
UH San Francisco, Detroit, and then whoever wins the NFC South,
and then if you throw in Seattle, that's six.
Speaker 7 (13:38):
Rob.
Speaker 1 (13:39):
So I think they Minnesota should battle whoever that second
team is in that NFC side. I mean maybe the Rams.
I don't know, do they get in there, but that's
who they'll they'll be. They should be in the U
in that race, so maybe that will keep them from
trading cousins. All right, It's The Odd Couple of Christian

all right, eight seven seven yep eight seven seven ninety nine.
(15:39):
On Fox, you'll turn the way in. What are your
thoughts on brock Perty Has he been exposed or do
you still think he can be a franchise quarterback?
Speaker 4 (15:47):
All right, let's kick it off with Sean in Sacramento.
You're on the couple of Fox Sports Radio. What's up, Sean?
Speaker 9 (15:53):
Yeah, mygles from another mother, my brothers mine the board.
Speaker 10 (15:57):
Hey man, look I feel it, man.
Speaker 9 (15:59):
Look if you know anything about the Bay Area, Robin.
I know you do because you always leave Bonte and
Butcher up in flames every time you make an appearance
of me.
Speaker 4 (16:07):
You look, man, the whole Bay Area, northern California back
in like the sky is falling, Trey Purdy bringing anybody
but Purdy.
Speaker 9 (16:16):
Look at Shanahana.
Speaker 7 (16:17):
What he did with.
Speaker 9 (16:19):
Kirk Cousins and wife is a great relationship. Look, man,
over the long haul, it's gonna pay off with Purdy.
Because he's making so little money. You have to resign
Kirk Cousins. You can't afford all these offensive players when
you sign that veteran player. Look at what happened to
the Rams, and I think more of this needs to
be put on the defense. Nick both have signed one
of the richest deals in NFL history, one to half
(16:40):
sex through six games. I can't name another guy on
that defense outside of Fred Warner who's actually earning their
key man. Whenever you let a guy like Kirk Cousin
in a terrible offense with no might, I add Justin Jefferson,
march it down on you.
Speaker 7 (16:53):
Over and over and over again.
Speaker 9 (16:54):
I can't put that on Purty.
Speaker 1 (16:57):
Last night, that that's the worst I've seen defense looking
a long time.
Speaker 4 (17:01):
I agree with that the defense was bad, but this
is two weeks in a row that he's not played
as well as we had seen.
Speaker 7 (17:10):
Well.
Speaker 1 (17:10):
Cleveland he didn't play well, and then at the end
led that last drive where you know they just and
then this game he played pretty well and then you know,
crumbled in the in the clutch.
Speaker 4 (17:22):
Yep, Jake and Iowa, you're on the odd couple of
Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 11 (17:26):
What up, Jake, Hey Fellas, how you doing the shows?
Speaker 10 (17:29):
Great?
Speaker 1 (17:30):
Thank you?
Speaker 6 (17:31):
Hey.
Speaker 7 (17:32):
I don't think it matters if it's Purty or Garoppolo
or whoever. I mean, I guess the thing that was
disapoint about Purty last night is that when the team
wasn't playing their best, he had two chances at the
end to cover him and he didn't do it. And
that's something Garoppolo did a lot, even when he wasn't
playing well. At the end of games, he was really good. Yeah,
I think it. I think it comes down to this
(17:55):
defensive line has been terrible this year, and they are
and they get making a lot out of money, and
the whole team changed when they got McCaffrey. When when
Purdy came on the scene. McCaffrey just came a few
weeks before it, and people forget that. So I you know,
I'm not going to extend pretty ever and give him
huge money. I mean, I don't care who.
Speaker 3 (18:16):
You why not? Why Not's all he does is win?
Why not? Tell me why you won't give him?
Speaker 7 (18:22):
But Garoppolo won and they wouldn't extend him once he
made big money and he cook from the super Bowl.
Speaker 11 (18:26):
And I think Darnold.
Speaker 7 (18:27):
Would do well too. But because these guys around him,
because the forty and ards, you're trying to do something
the other teams don't do. They're trying to win, to
be cheap at quarterback.
Speaker 11 (18:35):
And.
Speaker 4 (18:37):
Well, we'll see and if and if they don't win,
you might look at at the opening window and say it.
Speaker 3 (18:42):
Was all for not. That's the scary part about it.
Speaker 11 (18:45):
I mean, you know, they went through the Hardballty're had
the same way, and they didn't close the deal. They
got a great team there for three years. I mean,
if they don't get it down with this group either,
but then you know, I'm probably gonna have to change.
Speaker 1 (18:57):
But that one difference with Gara below and party to
this point, at least and we've talked robbing about Garoppolo's
success in San Francisco. He did, and you're right, he
led some some game winning drives. There's no doubt about it.
The rams, No, he definitely was was good at that.
(19:18):
But he also he made he was more prone to
making mistakes than Party. You know, get safeties in the
end zone and and just more untimely interceptions. Now, Party
last two games has been that, but we'll see if
he does that over time. But that that's one difference.
I think Party is better with ball protection than Garoppolo was.
Speaker 4 (19:40):
Just last night, Ricky and Florida, you're under the couple
of Fox Sportuitio.
Speaker 1 (19:45):
What's up, Ricky?
Speaker 6 (19:47):
What's up?
Speaker 10 (19:48):
My brothers from another different.
Speaker 6 (19:53):
Yeah, I love you guys man, thank you. You know,
when it comes to when it comes to Party, I
just think he's a system quarterback. You know, everything's got
to go right. Uh think it it was Elway.
Speaker 10 (20:05):
Or Marino, they would have came back, but you know
they were with injuries. NFL is a week to week
type deal, and uh, you know it wasn't that week.
Next week, let's see if they get the players back
and then they played the right team I I believe.
Speaker 11 (20:18):
The coach said that. You know that he wished he had.
Speaker 10 (20:20):
Debos last night when they played against the Fighting It
would have been good for them. He's a list quarterback.
He's not a you know, l Way or Marino that
can come back and do those things. And I don't know.
We'll see if the Fortnite is gonna be all right.
Speaker 4 (20:34):
Ricky, Ricky, let me ask you this. I think you
got a peg on this. But how surprised were you
after that?
Speaker 8 (20:41):
Was it?
Speaker 3 (20:41):
After they blew out Dallas?
Speaker 4 (20:43):
They're saying, MVP, he's better than Joe Montana, but not
that conversation. He's in the Joe Montana How.
Speaker 10 (20:54):
That's that's all media driven and before and I got
to thank you man. I had to cut the call
off last night short because I had a few blizzies
on the Vikings myself. I mean, I've been follow I've
been following you picks man, You've been doing good.
Speaker 3 (21:07):
So to not bet Hey, they're not bad, Chris? Did
you hear that?
Speaker 1 (21:11):
Four he was won and four to last two Sundays?
Speaker 3 (21:14):
I was three and oh last night? Am I right?
Speaker 1 (21:18):
Alright?
Speaker 10 (21:19):
Guys? Thanks for the call man, alank.
Speaker 1 (21:20):
You all right? It's the Eye couple, Chris and Rob. Rob.
The Knicks got their eye on the superstar. Will it happen?
That's next? I Couple.

(22:06):
a first deposit match up to one hundred dollars today, Rob,
I don't know if you saw a friend of the show,
Keith Pompey of the Philly Inquirer. Now you remember I
was talking last week out there was some scuttle butt
around the league that Joel Embiid would like to play
with the Knicks. It's not gonna come out and say it.
(22:28):
He doesn't want the Philly fans on him.
Speaker 3 (22:30):
I'm I'm sure that better not come out of his mouth.
Speaker 1 (22:33):
Right he knows better than that.
Speaker 10 (22:35):
You know.
Speaker 1 (22:37):
That, right, And it's scuttle, but it's talk out there.
But today POMPEII writes a story saying that the Knicks
are willing Here's what he says. This is what they
would be willing to trade for Joel Embiid because rob
you know, the league, people teams around the league are
(22:58):
watching him bid, and they're watching to see if he
gets so disgruntled with the James Harden situation and the
Sixers not being a true contender that he eventually wants out. Now,
mind you, in full context, he's just starting the first
year of a four year, two hundred and thirteen million dollars.
(23:19):
I just, Chris, I can't, right, he I mean, Philly
could keep him if they want. But Pompey writes that
the Knicks would be willing to offer this package Julius Randall, RJ.
Barrett Evan forty eight and Mitchell Robinson. Three of those
You could get three of those players, all right, if
(23:41):
you're an opposing.
Speaker 3 (23:42):
Ten, and I would throw in Bernard King, you can
have whoever you want.
Speaker 1 (23:45):
Chris Well, and here's what Swededten's it two or three
first round picks.
Speaker 4 (23:48):
Whatever you want. I mean, if you're gonna seriously, like
if I'm the Knicks and I could get Joe l embiid,
I'll give you every Well, let's they.
Speaker 1 (23:56):
Obviously want to keep Jalen Brunt in the pair with him,
which is.
Speaker 4 (24:00):
Get But other than that, right, yeah, I just think
this Rob.
Speaker 1 (24:06):
First of all, I don't think.
Speaker 3 (24:08):
Philly, I'm not making that trade.
Speaker 1 (24:11):
Right. Well, that if they get to a point, like
if let's say, and be the ass for trade they Rob,
They're gonna try to get a lot more than what
the Knicks have to offer. Now that's not a bad package,
but it's good, right, But they're not great, right, And
none of if Julius rams who's selling tickets there, Chris
who what player you're getting is selling tickets? Well? And
(24:35):
beyond that, what player is good enough to be the
best player on the championship team? No? Right, right out
of that group, Julius Randall would be your best player.
Maybe r J. Barrett pass him. Neither one of those
guys is good enough to be the number one guy.
You'd have Tyres Maxi. Presumably he's not good enough to
be the number one guy on the championship team. So
(24:56):
you would have a bunch of good players. And Daryl
Morey doesn't try to in trades. He tries to crush
in trades, and he's patient, as we've seen. And so
I just and Rob you know this too. Look, if
the Knicks had the best deal, I think Maury would
probably do the trade. But it would take a lot
for Philadelphia to trade Joe LMB to New York. That
(25:19):
would be right.
Speaker 3 (25:21):
But in your division, you know what I mean, you're
gonna regional.
Speaker 1 (25:24):
Rival I mean, as mediocre teams go, it's a rivalry, right,
And god, yeah, I'm with you. And again there's so
many other teams that I think could Now the Knicks
have a bunch of draft picks, but as far as
like star players that you could get back, you won't
get back somebody as good as MB. But for star
(25:47):
players you could get back. I just think the Knicks
would be be wanting with that Rob g hopping here,
what do you think about this this MB talk?
Speaker 5 (25:59):
Unless he pushes the deal and and he forces something
like this happening, I don't see Daryl Morey ever making
that kind of track that.
Speaker 3 (26:05):
Trade just it would probably be as general manager.
Speaker 1 (26:11):
I do think this.
Speaker 3 (26:12):
And I would say the Diamondbacks Chris of Todd the
game to two to two.
Speaker 1 (26:19):
Yep. I wouldn't say this obviously if I'm Maury, but
we all know that himb You know, at some point
it appears his body's gonna break down. He's never played
more than I think sixty eight games playoffs. He's always
banged up, always and misses a game or so here
or there. So I would watch quietly how he's holding
(26:43):
up physically, you know, because you might be able to
if you think he's not going to last, you might
that that might provoke you to pull the trigger on
some type of deal. So I wouldn't. I mean, he's
a great player. He's got to show up better in
the playoffs, no doubt. But I wouldn't be one n
(27:04):
posed to trading him like a Yo kicch or somebody
like that. But I would just watch it if I'm more.
Speaker 5 (27:10):
Well, Chris, are you surprised that Mbat hasn't already asked
out given the situation he's been having to deal with
the last four or five years in Philadelphia?
Speaker 1 (27:21):
I'm not because he I think he is important to
him to be liked by the fans in Philadelphia. I
don't mean say that in a bad way, but I
just mean I think that's part of it. And I
also think I do think he feels some loyalty to
that franchise. To remember, they did believe in him when
(27:41):
he missed the first few seasons with this remember him absolutely,
And obviously they've chosen him over everybody. Ben Simmons, Uh,
they would have loved to have kept Jimmy Butler alongside him.
They made a mistake there, but you know, he's been
their guy. But I think those are big factors. And
(28:03):
also I think this, and I'm maybe this is an overstatement.
He certainly has the right to ask to do what
he wants to do, But I just don't think in
Beat like I think part of their problem has been
in Beat hasn't been as good in the playoffs.
Speaker 3 (28:20):
Like one of the reasons. I think you got stats
to back that up.
Speaker 1 (28:23):
Yeah, I mean his numbers last year. He averaged thirty
three points in the regular season. Guess how many in
the playoffs twenty six twenty three. Wow, he goes full
ten points. He averaged ten rebounds down to nine rebounds
in the playoffs. But here's the thing too, he shot
(28:43):
fifty five percent in the regular season forty three percent
in the playoffs. His numbers routinely go down in the playoffs,
and again he misses some time too. So I almost
feel like, dude, you got a lot of nerve a
skin out when you haven't delivered and hardened to like
(29:04):
hard needs to realize the best basketball place for him
is Philly. I get it, you're upset, and that's real, right,
you're a human being. You feel like you've been duped.
I get that. But Rob, the best place for him basketball,
it's not the Clippers. It's here, right, He's the second
(29:24):
guy here. What would he be in the Clippers the
third guy? He's the second guy. He's got the ball
in his hands all the time. I mean, and you
got one of the second best center in the world,
and you got some good role players, were like what more?
Speaker 5 (29:40):
Like, well, Chris is the easy fix to that, though,
and that is to fire Darryl Moury.
Speaker 1 (29:47):
Well, you'd have to see what.
Speaker 5 (29:48):
Yeah, apparently that's not on the table because several players.
Now I've had issues with Daryl Moray going back, yeah
a decade.
Speaker 4 (29:57):
No, that that is the easiest fix, and usually he's
the one that you're going to move on because it's
so hard to get talent, you know, it's just so
hard to get.
Speaker 1 (30:08):
The only problem and I hear you because Moray has
not delivered a championship. He's been okay, he's, you know,
the post child for the analytics movement, but he look,
it's not he was in Houston. Being in Houston and
having deep runs, playoff runs, is not the goal. Houston's
won championships, right And I said right that they're not like, oh,
(30:29):
we made a nice little run. They're about championships. He hasn't.
He didn't deliver that obviously, hasn't done it in Philly.
And the problem is this, And you're always gonna choose
to me a superstar player over a GM or a
coach in most cases. But here's the here's the thing
with Harden. He's so unpredictable. Right, Like, even if you
(30:55):
fired Maury, if you don't come to a wink wink
deal with Harden, you know you couldn't do it, like legally,
but a wink wink deal, handshake deal that we're gonna
max you out or something in the off season, he's
he might quit, who knows what he would do you
know what I'm saying, and not to mention he is,
(31:18):
he gonna get him to the problem even if he
buys in and says, you know what I'm all in,
we're gonna try to win the championship. How much faith
do you have in that?
Speaker 3 (31:29):
Not much?
Speaker 1 (31:30):
Right, that's the thing. And he's old, he's thirty four
years old.
Speaker 4 (31:33):
So and let me give you another update. Another two
out hit by the d Backs or up three to two,
but the Phillies have the time run on second, Chris
time run on second with nobody else.
Speaker 1 (31:46):
Okay, this is what you want from a game seven?
It is.
Speaker 4 (31:49):
It's back and forth, three to two, big fifth inning. Yeah,
the last time a blowout last night was.
Speaker 1 (31:57):
That was very anti climactic to say the lead. All right,
rob we got a nightcap. The Denver's up one ten
ninety six, and Robb g will attest to this. Denver
has controlled the game from the outset and the Lakers
have made some nice little runs to get within six, eight, whatever,
(32:19):
and every time Denver's just answered and it's just they're
just too much. At least that's been the case so far.
They're one ten to ninety eight. Ninety nine, I believe now.
And that's that's really been the story of this game one,
ten to ninety nine and they just hit a three.
(32:39):
Michael Porter Junior. It's really been like that. Rob G
wouldn't in that decase like that's what it's been. Lakers
making a nice little run.
Speaker 5 (32:50):
I'll tell you what, six or eight, I'll do you
one better. It feels like the playoff series last year.
Speaker 1 (32:55):
Similar.
Speaker 5 (32:56):
They've been right there within five six points at like
the four minute mark, and then a barrage of threes
and that's yeh now it.
Speaker 1 (33:04):
Ends yep, just look like they got too much. But
it's game one. But all right, there's a nightcap though,
Rob the Suns and the Warriors. We'll talk about that next.

Nuggets up. They're gonna win this about a minute fifteen
left one fifteen one to oh three. Nicola Jokic's twenty
nine points, thirteen rebounds, eleven assists.
Speaker 10 (34:07):
Rob.
Speaker 1 (34:08):
I don't even think this is like going out on
a limb. I don't know if it'll be true or not,
but I'm gonna say it. I think it's I think
Yoga's gonna average a triple double this year.
Speaker 4 (34:19):
Yeah, you might be right, and I know it's just
one game, but where is the You know, nobody has
any kryptonite Chris or an anecdote. I mean, somebody would
have to show me what they're going to do to
change or stop him from doing what he's done. Right,
there's nobody. If Anthony Davis can't do it, who in
(34:41):
the league's gonna do it?
Speaker 1 (34:42):
No great point nobody, I mean ad when he's engaged,
I mean period, He's one of the best big defenders
in the league. And Jokis just had his weight with him.
And whoever else they threw on him, and last year
rob look Jokic was two tenths of an assist away
from a triple double. Twenty four and a half points,
(35:03):
eleven point eight rebounds, nine point eight assists. So, like
I said, I'm not going out on huge limb, but
I think he's going to He averaged it in the playoffs,
and he nearly averaged it last season. I don't even
think he's going out trying necessarily, but just I mean,
he's a point center and in that position, he's gonna
(35:25):
get a lot of assists. You know, he's gonna get
the points and rebounds. And the Lakers, I'm look, it's
one game against the best team in the league, so
I'm not gonna make too many grand statements. But they
they didn't look as good as I expected. I thought
Denver pretty much scored at will against them. Rob they
(35:48):
shot over fifty against them. And Lebron, who's had a
good game, but it looks like he's gotta pace himself.
Twenty one points, eight rebounds, five assists from Lebron ten
for sixteen shooting. That's all good, but he's doing it
(36:08):
in spurts, you know, which I get he's thirty eight
years old, right, so that's understandable. But if ad ad
ribs seventeen points eight to rebounds, four assists on six
of seventeen shooting he at his size, he should not.
Speaker 4 (36:27):
Be shooting six for seventeen, and that you would have
to take a look at the shots becus you were
watching it more closely than I was. I was flipping
back and forth with the baseball. I don't know where
all his shots were from. I saw a couple of threes.
I saw some perimeter stuff.
Speaker 1 (36:41):
One for two from three.
Speaker 4 (36:42):
Yeah, yeah, So I didn't see a lot of I
don't know where his shot selection was.
Speaker 3 (36:47):
Was it poor?
Speaker 1 (36:48):
Because I just think that he's not like a great
jump shooter. He's when you as a four to seven footer,
you know, outside out of a Duran, a Dirk guys
like that. He's a He's a good shooter. He's not
in bad at it by any stretch. But I think
he takes too many j's for his skill set. He's,
(37:13):
like I said, he should be making he should be
on the perimeter sometimes for sure, but he should be
more I think inside, because he wouldn't shoot six for
seventeen if he's getting more shots around the back.
Speaker 3 (37:29):
Right, That's what I'm saying. Yeah, like like like it's okay, you're.
Speaker 4 (37:33):
Gonna miss something, you're not gonna make them all but
six for seventeen that's bad for him.
Speaker 3 (37:37):
He's just too good.
Speaker 1 (37:38):
He's too good, too good. And Austin Reeves, who's supposed
to be that third guy four for eleven again first night.
We're not gonna make any you know, huge proclamations one
way or the other. But you know, Denver looks good, Rob,
They look like they haven't missed the beat.
Speaker 3 (37:58):
Chrise, I like that team lot I told you before.
Speaker 4 (38:01):
I just you know, like they're young, they're together, they
have more confidence than ever, they have experience now, you know, like,
how do you not feel good about? You know, you
got that monster in the middle every night?
Speaker 1 (38:13):
Chris? What's not to be?
Speaker 3 (38:16):
Do not think you can't win?
Speaker 1 (38:18):
Well? What is it? No doubt? Final one nineteen one
oh seven. All right, it's Chris and Rob the odd couple.
