R party. You're listening to Fox Sports Radio. It is
The Odd Couple. I'm Chris, He's Robb and we're broadcasting
live from the tirerac dot Com studios. Tirerac dot com
the way a tire buying should be. They've got an

(00:45):
unmatched selection, fast, free shipping, free road hazard protection, and
more than ten thousand recommended installers. They will help you
get there. We got Daniel Kelly who's a former NFL
scout for the Jets. Uh. He will join us at
the bottom of the hour. That should be good, like

(01:06):
going on with the Jets. So uh good to have
him on the night. Got Rob g. You did a
good job with some guests tonight, really very very good.
Dating back to Christian Winfield last week. Good job is good.
I mean he's done a he's done a good job.
He's been I'm so good that I got Braylon Edwards

(01:26):
coming on Friday to preview Michigan Ohio State all day,
but only half of the odd couple is here. I know,
I'm like a dirty car sailer. That's good, Rob Ge
and I we're gonna be enjoyed. A friend of Ron Parker, yes, yes, yes,
said he said anything for Rob I'm down. I'm a
bit torn on that game because you know, I'm from Ohio,

(01:50):
but my daughters went to Michigan. I was definitely when
she was there, right daughter. Yeah, I was definitely pulling
for Michigan when she was there. But she's been out
a few years, so I don't know, we'll see. I
kind of feeling the Buckeyes. I know other well, I

(02:11):
don't pull for anybody, but other than really, you never
pulled for anybody. I pulled for the best story. I
just that's just why I writing a story. No, no no,
but I'm just saying, whatever's the best scenario. Last year
Michigan won Chris after they've been humiliated for what ten
or eleven years in a room, Michigan would probably be
the best story winning. I think they want to go.

(02:32):
You love to see c. J. Stroud play in the
National Championship. But okay, anyway, um, let us get into
a story. Rob g shared with us what's going on
in Denver, because I mean, we know nathaying your U
can't hack it as Rob causing great nickname, Ro I'm
gonna give you all the credit on that thank you's.

(02:53):
He's obviously not doing a good job. They're three and seven, Um,
but er doing he's very much under fire. Yeah. So
for a long time, this Nathaniel Hackett Russell Wilson thing
has been kind of punching back here in the national media.
You know, we've it's been at nauseum now for about
a month, month and a half. Now. Denver is a

(03:14):
great sports town, but they're not as you know, fickle
as some of the national media national pundits. Well, that
changed in a big way following Sunday's loss to my
beloved Las Vegas Raiders. Where now multiple is this true?
The Raiders are o and seven against the rest of
the NFL and two and oh against Denver. No, we

(03:34):
have three wins. One of them was against Houston, oh
one and seven against the rest of the NFL. Yes,
so a game that they had won up three under
two minutes remaining. The Raiders got no timeouts left, and
they inexplicably call a pass play and Russell Wilson was
an incomplete pass saves the Raiders about forty seconds. Terrible

(03:55):
coding kicked the field goal to force over time. They
win it in overtime on a touchdown pass. But multiple
columnists now in Denver, including Mike Kislos, one of the
you know the names to know in the Denver iMedia scene, Yes, okay,
we know him, came out and said it is a
direct quote. The Broncos need to end the madness fire.

(04:16):
Nathaniel Hackett make defensive coordinator, I don't know his named
Evro the head coach. The Broncos are on the road
to nowhere, and coach Nathaniel Hackett is a slacker riding shotgun.
Please remind me what exactly does Hackett do around here?
And why is he still here? Wow, the gauntlet has

(04:40):
been dropped there. And you know what, I agree with
him and Chris. You know they the ownership did not
hire Nathaniel can't hack it. And if I'm new ownership
and I'm watching what's going on, and I say to myself,
what do you mean our defense is giving up seventeen
points a game. That's winning football, seventeen points a game. Right,

(05:04):
we can't score twenty. We can't get twenty, not forty, Chris,
not thirty eight a game, not thirty five a game.
We can't score twenty one points or twenty. Dude, there's
an issue, and the whole thing has been a disaster
Chris since week one. You remember you had to hire

(05:26):
somebody from to help him manage time a coach at
one week two. We talked about it from the very beginning.
Sometimes things just aren't the right match or guys not
ready to assume the responsibility. Yeah that two, That two, Rob.
And when I heard this today I almost fell out

(05:47):
of my chair. But it's easy to to see. But
Nick write saying today on first things first, if the
Broncos Rob scored twenty points a game this year, twenty,
which would still keep him in the bottom ten in
the league in points per game, guess what their record

(06:08):
would be? Go ahead, nine and one. That's ridiculous, think
about that. I look, I know, but your knew Nathaniel
Hacker was getting fired after this season, buying some miraculous turnaround.
But I hear you. I mean this is what this
was game what ten? And you still had those type

(06:32):
of clock management errors. Right the first couple of games,
we're like, okay, give him time because you right, what
are you doing throwing the football in that situation? Because Rob,
here's the deal and it was unlikely. But if they
had won that game, they're four and six. You're still alive,

(06:57):
not just mathematically, but you're actually like four and six.
We've won two of our last three, right, you feel
like you might have something going turn the corner maybe yep,
you got the Panthers coming up. That's a winnable game.
So that Rob g just described, you know the way

(07:17):
it went at the end of the game. Um, it's
it's a fireball offense. And look like you said, you
know he's not gonna be there next year, and god forbid,
you turned it around. Right, you know, you win like
four of your last few games. You almost don't want
to right right, right right, like this is where you
want to get them out so that he can't rebound

(07:37):
and then you have to keep them. But but uh,
you know the other thing is you talked about if
they just average eighteen points a game, that would be
the fifth worst offense in the NFL, and they still
would be nine and one like that. That's that's yeah,
that's how it would be. It would be twenty again
the Charges beat him nineteen oh, if they just averaged

(07:58):
eighteen points rib, they'd be eight and two eighteen or
eighteen points in regulation. If he was eighteen points, think
about that. And and look, and I like Russell Wilson.
He's not exempt from criticism, but he was supposed to be.
They were like, we got, well, how what have we

(08:22):
heard about Denver for the last ten years old? If
we get a quarterback, if we could get a quarterback
to go with the defense, we got a super Bowl?
Like that's okay. If what do you want, We'll give
you everything we have for Russell Wilson. We got our quarterback,
he won a super Bowl, he went to back to
back Super Bowls. Excuse me here it is. We got
the defense and Wilson robe. And I'm gonna give him

(08:49):
Before I say he's washed, I want to see him
next season under a better coach. Uh. Look, he's got
a strong work ethic, character, professionalism, competitiveness, pride. I gotta
believe this is gonna be maybe the biggest offseason of
his career, you know that, and I guess the one

(09:13):
before his rookie year. But he I want to see
him next year before I say he's washed, Because Rob,
he's about to turn thirty four next week. You see
this type of drop off in an older guy right
immediately to Peyton Manny comes to mind. But for him
to be I mean, thirty three is not old. For

(09:36):
him to fall off completely this quickly is that would
be stunning. And so I want to see what he
does next year before I say he's washed. But I'll
say this, Rob, because we've all you know, when we've
described Russell Wilson, I mean we're talking about the trade
and before the trade, after the trade, future Hall of Famer, right,

(10:00):
that's in If this is who he is going forward,
I think that's in jeopardy. I don't know. I think
he'll probably still make it because of the Super Bowl
and that team, Chris, I do went you think just
I know, I downplay winning the Super Bowl. No, I'm
saying like, yeah, I'm just saying that he probably is

(10:24):
cemented in there because of that team and the run
that they made. Do you know what I mean? Like
that that they were pretty good even though they only
won the one. But I know what you're saying, like
like it was like the ridiculousness of Matthew Stafford's going
to the Hall of Fame after the Rams one, like
like that that was over. It's almost in reverse, right,

(10:45):
Stafford's first ten years or so, you know, not impressive,
you know, individually numbers, but not winning. And then he
has a super Bowl win, and now you got Wilson
very impressive first ten eleven years and that now this
or ten years, I think eight times in the playoffs
telling you it's been it's been ugly this year. And
it really hockey, Yeah, I mean they cannot scool. It's

(11:09):
just they they even when they move the ball, they
just can't put it in the end zone. Right, it is.
It's hard to watch, to be honest, it really is.
And so but I look, I'm with you, get rid
of him because because here's the thing, you already should
be looking at new coaches, rob and rather than go

(11:30):
behind the guys back and you know, maybe a coach
even that you're interested in even says, look right now,
that's Nathaniel Hacker's job. I don't want to talk to
you until he's you know what I mean, Like, so
just get rid of him now and you don't have
to worry about me and Sean Payton or because some
coaches will be like that, Rob, I'm not gonna rip
the women say listen, but you know a lot of

(11:52):
coaches have integrity will be like nah until you know
you're done with him, right, he's gonna have a conversation.
But here's the other thing too, Chris, with the defense
playing that well, the fix ain't that big, like you know, like, no,
the question really, Rob is right, the fix isn't that big.
But what I'm saying with a new coach, it ain't

(12:13):
like you gotta revamp the defense because you can't stop anybody. No,
we just need to be able to degenerate ten more
points or another touchdown. It ain't that big. And those
turning the winds like you're not that way. I agree.
And and the thing is Russell Wilson is there. Rob
g brought up why he's not getting criticized. He's getting

(12:33):
criticized nationally. But I'm just wife pretty. But you're also
understanding he ain't going nowhere like they're they're stuck with
Russell Wilson. You're married to him, no doubt whether that's
good or bad, you know what I mean? Like his contract.
You think Aaron Rodgers contract is prohibitive, No, not even
close to this. So he's going to be there. You

(12:57):
have to find the coach that can pull it out
of me if you're Sean Payton, who obviously will be
a name at the top of the list. And I
don't know what will happen with the Chargers. But if
if the Chargers and the Broncos are open, what do
you what are you more interested in? I would be

(13:17):
more interested in the younger quarterback, to be honest, I'm
just I know, because I don't know about Russ. Yeah,
and Herbert's Herbert's legitimately good. He's good even though they're
not winning. And there's some other stuff. Chris, But you
see the talent there as you could say to yourself,
I could coach this kid up and make them even better,

(13:38):
whereas Russ, I just don't know. And if you remember,
Chris when we were talking about him going to Denver,
remember I think I didn't pick them to make the playoffs?
Am I right? I don't remember I did. I don't remember.
If you did, I don't think I picked them to
make the playoffs because all the talk was about them.
But anyway, my point on this is that, um, remember

(14:01):
we had a couple of guests on him from Seattle
who were like, we've been watching him, Like, yes, the right.
They were saying that you remember that, and we were like, yeah,
I know. They're like, we've been watching him for the
last couple of years. He ain't the same guy. Yeah.
Um so it's gonna be interesting. But the bottom line

(14:23):
is I think we both agree Nathaniel Hackett, it's time.
Like you said, you're not keeping him past this season,
you might as well get rid of him now, all
right and start looking for your next guy. But let's
throw it out to the listeners eight seven seven ninety
nine on Fix eight seven seven ninety nine, six sixty
three sixty nine. Here's the question, guys, should Nathaniel Can't

(14:45):
hack It have been fired after the Broncos lost last night?
Or should he be fired now? And has this season
changed your opinion of Russell Wilson mister unlimited. We'll continue
the conversation with you next. It's the couple Chris and

And two? All right, Mike and Cambarillo, you're on the
odd couple of Fox Sports Radio. Is that California? Yes?
How are you good? Good? I want to wish you
guys all happy days, giving safe traveled this holiday season.
Of course, Thank thank you, thank you. So. I'm a

(17:19):
Denver fan of myself. Hackett should have been gone week four,
Week five like the team we the team we have
should not be having this record. Granted, yes, Russell Wilson
has made some mistakes too. I fully admit that I
think it's a bad year for him. Like Chris you
were saying, I'm not ready to call him watched. I

(17:40):
want to see next year. But Hackett just keep making
these same mistakes he's made week one and two. It's like,
what are you doing? I don't want to sit around
and have another event to Joseph for three years, right,
he think it, Jeff say today and not that he's

(18:00):
been Vince Lombardi, but I mean he hadn't made You know,
Hackett's made several blunders that all of us can remember, right,
I mean to be coaching only what ten games drop like,
it's just too many things we can all point to
off the top of our heads, say this, this, this,
there was this, there was this. So yeah, it's time. Yeah,

(18:23):
I agree, Andre in Massachusetts. You're on the odd couple
of Fox Sports radied What up Drake? Right? Yes, how
you doing? It's time Hackett. He's got to go. Based
on the fact you got the Panthers coming up, that's
a winnable game. Get the new guy in there, Get
some momentum shaved the locker room. After that, you got

(18:43):
the Ravens in the Chiefs probably taken two. Else Then
you return with some NFC teams Cardinals, ram Its in
the you know, possibly win those games. But the fact
the matter is, listen, the Waltons are in town. Okay,
big bank has come to town, and they're not. They
didn't buy the team to be suffering in mediocrity. So
I think they've already cute uh, locked in on names
like Sean Payton and these other high profile coaches that

(19:04):
are out there and there. I agree because they don't
old hacking anything. They didn't hire them. They don't want that,
and that rob that that's kind of it. I don't
want to say they don't need an excuse, but you
know what I mean, it's like, this is not our guy, right.
It's one thing to do that when you hired the guy,
because it's so quick. It just is a bad book.
But it's like, right, we didn't hire we didn't have

(19:26):
control of the team. It's not where we want to go.
That's all you have to say, Chris. Then nobody's gonna
be mad at you once you take over. You remember
when Jerry Jones took over the Cowboys a freaking legend
and Tom Landry and and people went crazy like you
guys are too young. But it was earthshaking news, Am

(19:47):
I right? Chris the Tom fired from the cause that
would be like firing. Um. I don't want to say
Bill Belichick because Landry was not successful, but you know
what I mean, like Andy Reid or something. Andy Reid didn't,
you know, win as much land I think Landry won
what too? Um? Yeah, Like he's a freaking Hall of Fame,

(20:07):
one of the best coaches ever. And Rob It's interesting
they weren't. They weren't like a circus undertime Landry. I
mean he was very distinguished, you know what I mean,
wore the suits on the side, hat with the hat. Yeah,
I mean, they weren't. And obviously they were successful with
Jimmy Johnson those guys, but they've been a circus under
Jerry Jones, even when they were winning. So Daniel Kelly,

(20:31):
former NFL scout with the Jets, who was there when
they uh, he was there. Rob g was there when
they drafted Zach Wilson. Right, he was after Okay, so
he was, but he was doing scouting for the league,
so he has some strong opinions at the time. Will
be great to talk to. He's up next. But first,

(20:51):

Couple live from the Tireg dot com studios. Our next
guest is a former NFL scout with the Jets, Daniel Kelly.

(21:13):
Welcome to The Eye Couple. What's happening? Hey, Thank you
guys for having me on. Hey, it's great time to
have you on. We appreciate you joining us. All right,
Zach Wilson under fire. They have not committed to starting
him this upcoming week. What are your thoughts on Zach
Wilson and are you surprised that he hasn't you know,

(21:36):
become at last, even to this point, a decent starting
quarterback yet Absolutely, guys, I'm not surprised at all. In fact,
I was, to my knowledge, the only person in the
country that was talking the way I was talking pre draft.
You know, I talked about how I put a third
round grade on him watching his film at BYU. I

(21:58):
said he an extremely high probability of being a bust.
If he was taking the first round, he could get
people fired in the building. The thing I didn't like, guys,
and to those who are listening, when I watched him
at Byu, was the ball placement is extremely important to
the evaluation process. I'm not talking about accuracy. I'm talking

(22:20):
about the ball placement. I saw receivers at Byu jumping
all over the plays, diving for passes. He did a
lot of that unscripted stuff that he did better at.
But to me, he lacked a polish and he lacked
the fundamentals and mechanics that would translate to the NFL level.
So once he got into the answer the other part

(22:42):
of your question, into the Jets, I never expected him
to do anything much. In fact, I've ran for si
Jets now for the last year and I've been probably
his biggest critic that's out there in the NFL world
because to me, it's just like the first year wasn't
that good. In year or two right now that we're

(23:02):
watching is even worse. So if you had the Jets,
what do you do? I mean, Okay, you've invested a
high pick in this guy, you got two other quarterbacks
sitting there who I don't have much confidence in. What
would you do going forward? I would turn over the
Mike White really point absolutely. I wrote an article guys

(23:24):
about a year ago in November on SI Jets that
said that Mike White, his play on the field proved
that Zach Wilson was a bust to me last year.
If you go back and look at the game when
Wilson got hurt in New England, when White came off
the bench, it was incredibly noticeable how much more efficient

(23:46):
the offense looked and moved under the leadership of Mike White,
because he's a lot more decisive with the ball in
the pocket, and he makes decisions quicker and he knows
what he's looking at quicker as well. It was to
me it was a night to day difference. Looking at
the film. I've been a big fan of Mike White
and pushing for him through my keyboard and SI Jets

(24:08):
to get him into the game because I think the
Jets have a much better chance and the team as
a whole responded a lot better. Statistics. Yeah, but we
saw him turn into a pumpkin after the first couple
of games. Well, against the Buffalo. Yeah, and the Buffalo
game wasn't wasn't good. I agree with that. So what

(24:29):
about like you saw Zach Wilson in the press conference
yesterday where he took no accountability for that offense only
not producing anything but three points a field goal? Did
that surprise you? Like? Did you? And I don't want
to say, I don't know did he ask character issues?
But I mean that clearly he came off I don't
know if this is really how he is, but he

(24:50):
came off to me like a spoiled brat, like a
Baker Mayfield or Johnny Manzel, who just didn't want to
take accountability, thought he was editor than he actually is.
Did you see any rare flags with that? And do
you think that's the case or he just made an
innocent mistake at the press conference. I think you make

(25:11):
a really good point there. I think you hit the
nail right on the head. Uh And my my pre
wraps got a report in twenty twenty one that's online.
Um I would I said that, you know, one of
my main concerns about Zack Wilson was a very high
sense of what I felt to the entitlement, um you know,
and It's something that I was very concerned by, uh,

(25:33):
you know, with with everything with him, and so when
you know, and really over the last few weeks, I
think the last especially since the last New England game
at the end of October there, uh, you know, he
kind of was kind of you know, his press game,
you know, a postgame press conference was uh, you know,
he seemed a little um flipping. I thought, it's a
little frustrated. It kind of came out. Uh. He kind

(25:56):
of circled back to that the week before this game
and kind of talked to his critics. Again. Supposedly he
doesn't look at social media, but he seems to be
very flustered and frustrated. So yesterday's comments that he made
to me, it seems like he's evolving very quickly, inspiring
downward very quickly, and should be on the bench because

(26:16):
now we're starting to see the players in the locker
room too openly talk against him and some of the things.
He's losing the locker room pretty quickly, and you know,
it just kind of goes goes in line with everything
I've seen all of him since I looked at him
at DYU. Who else As far as quarterbacks, that you
evaluated and watching them, you know, and watching them play.

(26:37):
Now we talked about we talk about Fields who looked
horrible Chris for how long, right the start of his career,
and then all of a sudden the last month or
five weeks, he looks like a different quarterback. What's changed there?
I think that that Fields is coming starting to come
into his own. Justin Fields was by QB one twenty

(27:00):
twenty one, coming out of Ohio State. Um to me,
he struck me as a young man who was laser
focused down field, a very smart young man in the
pocket Ohio States. Uh. You know, he came in with Naggie.
I thought that was a disaster. They tried to kind
of fit him into what they wanted to do. The
new offensive coordinator comes from Green Bay. You know, he

(27:23):
was committed to kind of forming things and you know
around Justin Fields instead. And I think that he's starting
to do that, you know where you know, Field is
not just running out of necessity for his life under pressure.
But I heard just even today that you know, a
few weeks ago that they really made a real commitment
to you know, design more runs for him, and that's

(27:45):
his comfort zone. So they're kind of building things around him,
and I think that's the biggest thing that's changed and
why we've seen the success from justin fields in Chicago. Now,
you were the rare scout that was not high on
Trevor Lawrence and so far are you know? I think
maybe the jury is still out, but he certainly doesn't.
Isn't looking like a star right now? He was a kid.

(28:08):
Why didn't you believe in him? And what do you
think from what we've seen so far in the NFL.
That's a great question to me. When I watched him,
the biggest thing about him was I think you see
through the most screen passes of any quarterback in college
football that year. He was good start, and he was

(28:28):
good long with the big army has, but the intermediate level,
it seemed like he only threw the ball once the
receivers had already made their break, and much like we
see a lot of times in the college football they're
wide open. That doesn't fly in the NFL. You need
to be able to throw the timing routes. And I
think that intermediate game is really throwing a kink into
what he's trying to do there, and to me, it

(28:51):
just and really the biggest concern I had was that
Sports Illustrated story that came out, the character story, you know,
prior to the draft, where you know, he talked about
you know really you know everybody in knew him. It
says family, everybody else. You know, he didn't really care.
You know, somebo didn't really rise on a championship. And
that was a complete turn off to me. And I
put a ninety percent of bus rate on once I
read that article. Wow, Wow, Trey Lance, we haven't seen

(29:15):
a lot of him. You're not you weren't that high
on him coming out of school? Um where with him? Yeah,
it's just tough. It's a tough situation for him because
he hadn't been healthy. That is a tough situation when
you invest that type of draft a capital into into
a kid and bring him in and the injuries obviously

(29:37):
haven't helped. But to me, I mean the first time
I didn't know who he was when I first looked
him on a film, you know, about six seven months
prior to the draft that put on the film and
you know, at NBSU, And the first thing that struck
me was, you know, this looks like a poor man's
you know, Donald McNabb I said, you know, I put
a sixth seventh round grade on him. I said, well,
you know, maybe it's somebody you bring in to play
on the practice squad you can run your scout team

(29:59):
for you, you know. And I just couldn't even believe
the hype and the stuff that builts around him that quickly. Um,
you know, I think he's in over his head. And
I frankly think the forty nine ers are in over
their heads with Trey Lance. And they've been trying to,
you know, mitigate this, and Kyle Shanahan and John Lynch
had been trying to mitigate this by by you know, continuously,

(30:20):
you know, trying to build them up in the press.
But you know that the cold reality is is that,
you know, David Lombardi put together a nice piece spreadsheet
from the athletic on Twitter, and uh, you know, I
mean throughout their training camp, even mister irrelevant Brock Purty
and journeyman quarterback Nate Sudfeld, they all performed Trey Lance

(30:41):
even in their camp. Uh you know, So to me,
I think, yeah, it's really concerning, and um, you know,
to me, I think that you know, I'd be very
surprised at this point. Um, if we see Trey Lance
start another game for the San Francisco forty nine ers. Wow,
that's a hot take right there. Last thing, Daniel, and

(31:01):
I know we've been talking about young quarterbacks, but tell
give us your thoughts on Russell Wilson. Have you seen
enough to determine that he's washed or do you think
like I'm looking at him at thirty three years old
saying I want to give him another year before I say,
was it Daniel Hackett, Yeah, you know, making a switch
to Denver? What is it? It's a very good question. Um,

(31:25):
you know, I look at Russell Wilson as a as
a study in the past. Obviously he started out really
well they won the Super Bowl. Ever since then, if
you look at his career in Seattle, it's been kind
of study declined, walked down the stairs as far as
you know, how far they got and everything to the
point where he was gone. And um, you know, I
wasn't sold on Russell Wilson even watching him, you know,

(31:49):
on film last year at Seattle. I was actually rather
surprised that the Denver Broncos made that that huge trade
for him. I mean, I understood why they did it.
To me, I mean, I wrote about him for SI
Jets a couple few weeks ago, and to me, I
think he's gonna go down one of the biggest bust
in NFL history as far as like the trades concern,

(32:10):
because I'm not seeing him really rebound from this. As
far as what I'm seeing on film, it just doesn't
even look He just looks like a shelve of his
old self in game from is the best way I
can say it. All right, Wow, Daniel Kelly, great stuff, man.
We appreciate the time. Former NFL scout for the Jets.
You can follow him on Twitter at Daniel Kelly Book.

(33:38):
Let's wrap it up with the Kansas City Chiefs day,
of course, beat the Los Angeles Chargers thirty to twenty
nine on a late game, last second, really last minute
touchdown passed from Patrick Mahomes to Travis Kelsey. Rob, I
think that Mahomes is the clear front runner out. We

(34:01):
got some time left, but right now he is the
clear front runner for the MVP. Uh do you differ
with that at this point? But yeah, there's still a
long way to go as we go forward here, there's
still what eight weeks, It's a long time, but yeah, yeah,

(34:22):
that's a I mean, there's a lot of stuff that
can happen from here on out. Um, but yeah, so far,
I think he would, you know, especially with Josh Allen
going by the wayside. I'm trying to think who else
maybe was in that conversation early on, maybe Lamar that
was real early Chris, after the first month he's been
out of it. Um well, they went thirteen to three

(34:43):
or two. I think two and Jalen Hurts I think
are probably uh the quarterbacks. I think two of them
more than hurt the people that are closest to him.
Um yeah, the only quite only issue two as far again,
I think it's clearly Mahomes the only issue with two

(35:04):
of being even higher than Hurts. It's just that he
missed those three games, you know, and so missing three
out of seventeen if it's closed, could hurt him and Rob.
They've changed it where now you vote for five players,
I mean, you know, in the order, like the NBA MVP,
whereas with in the past it's just been you put

(35:26):
in one name. But Mahomes. Rob is throwing. He's averaging
three hundred twenty six yards a game. The NFL record
is three twelve by Tom Brady, so he's on pace
to actually beat that pretty handily. He's got twenty eight
touchdown so he's around close to maybe on pace for fifty.

(35:52):
So yeah, he's having a huge year and the comeback.
Rob and I had picked the Chargers to pull off
the upset, so I was going for them, But that
dude scares me. Anytime I'm going for the other team.
It just seems like, if he gets the ball, you

(36:15):
gotta be worried. You got to be major league worried.
And I feel it's the feeling I had when Barry
Bonds was that bat in two thousand and one, when
you just felt like like, like, it's a feeling I
really haven't had, even though a Tom Brady and Aaron Rodder.

(36:37):
You know, you've seen guys make comebacks and you know
they're capable. But with him, I almost feel it's inevitable,
and I know it isn't because he's had you know,
he hasn't done it every time. I was gonna say
this year, didn't even though he threw a pick against
Indian Buffalo at the end, right in those games, I know,
one of them. But yeah, he hasn't done every but

(36:58):
his percentage when down is like double the next highest
in history. It's like crazy, Um, Yeah, when I just
looked at something when trailing in a game this year,
with less than three minutes left in it. He's got
one TD and two picks. But yeah, last night was
one of those games that they needed and and and

(37:19):
it was big. I mean, and if you're the charges
on the other side, Chris, you just gotta go like
like you know, you you get to touchdown right and
look like you're gonna steal it. And I'm sure you
were feeling good right when how much time left a
minute in something minute forty six? I believe that's a
lot of time in football, yep, yep. And but yeah

(37:43):
for him, I mean, like I said, I feel like
it was It's just something I haven't seen. I've said
this before, this is not new. But um, I think
he's by he's the best quarterback in the league. And uh,
we'll see if he keeps it up. He's on pace though,
to win his second MVP. Like I said, I think
Tah and probably Jalen Hurts, maybe Micah is in there.

(38:07):
Michael Parsons um that would be. Yeah. I mean, he
won't win it, you know, he'll just be in the
top five. I just can't see that. There's no way
of defense he's gonna win it. Yeah, unless it's just
something you know, These next seven eight weeks, all right,
this is the odd couple. We're out of here, but

(38:28):
keep it locked. Jason Smith and Mike Harmon the next
and I'm telling y'all they bring it heat.
