the hour, we will do Tyser's Tower of Trivia. Ephraim
did it with me once.

Speaker 1 (01:00):
I believe.

Speaker 5 (01:00):
I think I let him win.

Speaker 3 (01:02):
Just to you know, first of all, you've never let
me do anything on this showy.

Speaker 4 (01:07):
Well, tonight, I'm gonna show you what time it is,
okay and take you to the wood Ship ent Tower.

Speaker 1 (01:14):
Oh, the wood Ship.

Speaker 4 (01:15):
Since you says you don't appreciate my kindness, I don't
and generosity in that regard fake We will see that's
in thirty minutes, y'all keep it locked for that. But anyway,
Sporty News he from did an interesting article about all
the different dream teams Redeemed Team. I'm calling this Redeemed

(01:37):
Team too, the Dream Team. You had Dream Team two
and nineteen ninety six and all of that good stuff.
Rob G's gonna summarize it for us because he thinks
we're forgetting a team.

Speaker 1 (01:52):
Uh.

Speaker 5 (01:52):
That was tremendous.

Speaker 6 (01:54):
Yeah, So what they did was because everyone likes to
debate who's the best team, Redeem Team, Dream Team, this
Avengers team would ever. But what gets lost in these
conversations and Chris U Lutud earlier, is like during the
Dream Team Magic had taken a year off, Larry Bird
was a shell of himself. This year's team Lebron's great,
but he's thirty nine, so you're maybe not getting the

(02:15):
version that we all talk about of Magic of Larry
of Lebron. So what they did is they ranked every
single player who played for the Olympic team since nineteen
ninety two, because that was the first year they allowed
professional players. But what they did, though, is they judged
them based on the four years leading.

Speaker 7 (02:34):
Up to that team, So.

Speaker 6 (02:36):
If it was Kobe in two thousand and eight, it
was what he did from five to eight, and they
gave a point system. He got points for All NBA
First Team, second team, thirteen points for Championship, points for MVP, YadA, YadA, YadA.
And what they determined, surprise surprise, was that nineteen ninety
two Michael Jordan is the single greatest player to ever

(02:57):
play for Team USA Basketball, which is not real shocking And.

Speaker 4 (03:01):
Was this completely like based on numbers or was there
it was being subjective.

Speaker 6 (03:05):
The only things that they factored in nothing you do
with Olympics, so how you played in the Olympics was immaterial.
What they factored in again was MVP, which all NBA
team you made, a finals appearance, a scoring title, and
All Star team and you got different points for each one.
So it worked out that Michael Jordan was the greatest
player nineteen ninety two version is the greatest.

Speaker 4 (03:27):
Interest there because he had won well, yeah, he had
won two rings at that point. He had a couple
of finals MVPs, a couple of MVPs bron played. No, wait,
he hadn't won any but he did Lebron play in
twenty twelve.

Speaker 6 (03:38):
Yeah, And so what's interesting about this list is that
you have guys who played the multiple Olympics. So Kobe
based on their point system, two thousand and eight, Kobe
is number six, and twenty twelve Kobe's number seven because
for those four years before each Olympics he was doing
all kinds of stuff.

Speaker 1 (03:54):
Give us the top ten.

Speaker 6 (03:55):
So the top five in order. Nineteen ninety two Michael Jordan,
twenty twelve, Lebron James, this is shocker. Two thousand and
four Tim Duncan. People forget twenty fourteen Olympics was terrible,
but Tim Duncan at that time was fantastic. Yeah. Or
nineteen ninety six, Chemo LaJuan was fourth, nineteen ninety two,

(04:16):
Magic Johnson was fifth, twenty twelve Kobe, followed by two
thousand and eight Kobe, nineteen ninety six, Scottie Pippen, nineteen
ninety six, David Robinson and twenty twenty Kevin Durant.

Speaker 5 (04:28):
And they're including the twenty twenty fourteen.

Speaker 6 (04:30):
Yes, And the problem is the problem is with that
situation is there hasn't been really repeat champions. So the
highest person on this current list is Joe l Embiid,
on the heels of all of his all NBA teams
and scoring titles and so on.

Speaker 7 (04:44):
Next closest behind him is Jason Tatum.

Speaker 6 (04:47):
But if you look at this list and again there's
one hundred and eight names on it, what stands out
to me is that if you look at just the
top twenty five, everybody thinks of the Dream Team, this
Avengers Team, the redeem These are the great it's the
Olympic teams of all time. In the top twenty five,
the Dream Team has five players, the Redeemed Team has

(05:08):
three players, and the nineteen ninety six Dream Team two
leads the way with six players, which means, according to
Sporting News, that team is the greatest, most talented team
we've ever sent.

Speaker 1 (05:23):
To the end.

Speaker 7 (05:25):
A lot of guys from the Dream Team.

Speaker 4 (05:26):
I'm gonna read I mean it was stacked. I'll read
it to you in order of the scoring. Charles Barkley
was the leading scorer, and you know it was twelve
points a game because obviously they weren't playing as much.
But Charles Barkley, David Robinson, Reggie Miller, Scottie Pippen, Grant Hill,

(05:49):
Mitch Richmond, Shaquille O'Neill, Penny Hardaway, pre injury, Carl Malone.

Speaker 5 (05:59):
Is Malone's only you know, was that low in the scoring.

Speaker 4 (06:02):
But Carl Malone, Gary Payton, Hakeem Elijahwan, he only averaged
five points on that team, played twelve minutes a game.

Speaker 5 (06:12):
Again these remember this is when.

Speaker 4 (06:13):
They were blowing teams out, and then the lower scorer
was John Stockton, so that that team was stack.

Speaker 5 (06:20):
There was no Christian Lightner.

Speaker 3 (06:23):
That team seems like they'd be a problem. They'll be
a serious problem.

Speaker 1 (06:30):
Look at the.

Speaker 4 (06:31):
Side, here's what you got beside you have David Robinson,
Hakeem Elijahwan, and Shock.

Speaker 1 (06:39):
You got inside, you got on your hand.

Speaker 5 (06:41):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (06:42):
On the the shooters, you have Mitch Richmond, Reggie Miller,
and Stockton could shoot, you know, he just didn't shoot
a lot. Then you just straight scores, I mean, Barkley,
Karl Malone, and then you had I'll throw in well playmakers,

(07:03):
Grant Hill, Penny Hardaway pre injury, obviously stocked and Gary
Payton was a Hall of Fame. Point like that that
that's a heck.

Speaker 5 (07:11):
Of a team right there.

Speaker 4 (07:14):
I mean, you could argue just because like we said,
Magic was, you know, a year removed from NBA play,
and Bird was not himself.

Speaker 5 (07:24):
I mean.

Speaker 4 (07:26):
The argument there Elijah Wyne is better than Ewing. Yes, yeah,
I mean that.

Speaker 5 (07:33):
Again, they they don't have magic, but they got stocked.

Speaker 7 (07:36):
In and Chris.

Speaker 6 (07:37):
What this article is pointing out, an Ephraim is maybe
not necessarily that they have better players.

Speaker 7 (07:42):
Because you know, Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson, you know, this team.

Speaker 6 (07:45):
Step the what what the what this argument this article
is pointing out is at the time we got these players,
that ninety ninety six team was the team that had
the most guys in the prime at the best point
in time in their career.

Speaker 1 (08:00):
Right, yeah, that makes sense.

Speaker 5 (08:03):
Yeah, and I remember seeing that.

Speaker 4 (08:04):
You know, I actually did covered that team a little bit.
And I mean again, and you'll remember this, Ephraim, those
were the days when I mean it was just a joke.
These games were joke. Yeah, you might watch the first
ten minutes, you.

Speaker 1 (08:23):
Had to go do something else. Yeah, because I.

Speaker 4 (08:25):
Mean we were not only blowing their teams out by
forty thirty, twenty five, whatever it might be, but we
were blowing them out early. If I if my recollection
serves me, right like there weren't.

Speaker 5 (08:39):
It wasn't something now today obviously wasn't even a blowout.

Speaker 4 (08:43):
But even I think was the last game who we
played before Serbia, But you know for the first Brazil
first quarter and a half, maybe you know, three quarters
of the first.

Speaker 1 (08:56):
Half, it was it was a game.

Speaker 4 (09:01):
Yeah, and then we generally pull away because we got
so much more talent, But that wasn't.

Speaker 5 (09:06):
Happening back then.

Speaker 4 (09:08):
No, No, And I think from we had not only
the great talent, but I just think I called me.
I think that we had a better understanding of playing
team basketball.

Speaker 3 (09:19):
Well, yeah, because everybody grew up playing teams.

Speaker 1 (09:23):
That's how you grew up back then. That's how it was.

Speaker 3 (09:26):
Look that whole soliloquy, I went on about the point
guard and this and that that's a real thing.

Speaker 1 (09:32):
That's a real thing.

Speaker 3 (09:34):
Like you were raised and taught positions yep, and how
to get the best out of a team, and how
to prepare and how to do like everybody wasn't doing
everything well.

Speaker 5 (09:47):
And the offenses you grew up running you.

Speaker 4 (09:52):
Moved, yes, and everybody, even if you had a star
on your team, he it wasn't like give him the
rock and everybody kind of watch him go to work
and maybe spot up.

Speaker 5 (10:03):
To it actually might pass to you.

Speaker 4 (10:06):
Right, you ran plays and I understand when you know,
when you are so talented with the basketball and athletic
that nobody can kind of stop you one on one.
You know, you just kind of drive by guys. Right, Oh,
we can just give it to him and he can
beat anybody. But that that that's not going to be

(10:29):
a talented team, even if they're a little bit less.

Speaker 5 (10:32):
Talented than you, if they're playing together.

Speaker 1 (10:36):
You know.

Speaker 3 (10:36):
You know what else that I have realized just watching
the games, and what's lacking this notion of nobody goes
to rebound anymore.

Speaker 5 (10:48):
Well, nbat have four rebounds to that.

Speaker 3 (10:50):
So what happens is because they're no true positions. You
don't like, you don't have a person who is dedicated
to crashing the board every time. A lot of times
when you watch the Olympics are NBA basketball, a shot

(11:12):
goes up and you see everybody before the shot even
gets to the rim, trotting back down the other side. Yep, right,
they might to stop the fast. There is no there
is no one crashing the board. Now if you're down
there and the shot goes up, okay, but no one
is coming from fifteen feet out and crashing the boards,

(11:33):
right like Dennis Rodman would average thirty rebounds a game
in today's NBA because he would be the one person
crashing the board every time the shot went out, no
matter where he was on the court. And I think
in itself, that's a lost art, right, So you're willing

(11:55):
to concede a rebound opposed to contestant it maybe tipping
it out right like you're there's no effort going into
attacking the rebound. If you're like I said, if you're
down there, then you no one boxes out anymore. Then
you you block, you box out and then you know
you'll try to tip it around or grab it or whatever.

(12:16):
To me, though, all of these things are lost arts,
like things that the teams that do well are teams
that have multiple shots on one possession, right, you get
double attempts, multiple attempts. That's why Nicola Jokicic is so valuable.
We almost blew it in the fourth quarter of that
game because we couldn't get a rebound. We gave Serbia

(12:41):
three four opportunities. I'm talking about. This is in the
final two minutes at scoring a bucket and I was
just like, wow, no. My wife screamed at the top
of her long grab the rebound, like.

Speaker 1 (12:52):
Nobody in South Sudan get that.

Speaker 4 (12:55):
Yes when we are Yes, yeah, yeah, they got I
think three shots at the that's what devin rebound.

Speaker 3 (13:02):
That's the whole thing. They're crashing the boards. It's especially
for the NBA, it's a lost art. And if you
don't believe me, just just watch some games and you'll
see no effort going into uh offensive rebounding. It's just
weird to me.

Speaker 4 (13:19):
In the late nineties early two thousands, when I was
covering the league, teams started you might send two guys
to the rim, or you might send one for the
offensive glass, but the priority was on getting back defensively.

Speaker 1 (13:36):
That's what I remember.

Speaker 4 (13:37):
The league was very defensive minded, low scoring, and part
of it was that teams would they were like, look,
we'll give up the offensive rebound unless this one man
can get it, but we're getting most of our guys
back to stop the transition game.

Speaker 3 (13:54):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (13:54):
And I don't know how much that I am. I
don't know about like that.

Speaker 4 (13:58):
I mean, I don't think it's quite as pretty now.
But also, I do you also get a lot of
long rebounds today because you take They've taken so many
more threes and long jump shots. But but like I said,
Joe LMB, biggest dude on the floor, have four rebounds today? Now,
great fairness, Jokic only had five. But all right, We're
gonna give the callers a chance. Eight seven seven ninety

it's your turn the way in We've been talking a
lot about Team USA, which a team that is so

(16:51):
stacked with legendary players that everyone's been comparing them and
a lot of people face for bleek to the nineteen
ninety two Dream Team, which was historic. Uh and yet
today against Nicole Jokic, the best player in the world, Okay,

(17:12):
we get that, but with two other NBA players I believe,
and then basically a bunch of Euro League guys, they
pushed the Team USA, had them, led them all but
three and a half minutes, and led them by as
many as seventeen points. And so we want to get

(17:34):
your thoughts both from this game and going forward in
the Saturdays against France A seven seven ninety nine on

Speaker 3 (17:42):
All right, we got a ride in Detroit you're on
the odd couple with Chris and E from what you got?

Speaker 11 (17:46):
Hey, what's UPO?

Speaker 3 (17:50):
Let me say this, it is not the best player bro.

Speaker 1 (17:54):
You got KD.

Speaker 11 (17:55):
Lebron and the other guy what's his name?

Speaker 1 (17:58):
Steph Curry? And the other guy name Carrie? And how's he?

Speaker 4 (18:03):
He's won three of the last four m vps and
a championship. I don't and almost beat all of those
guys you mentioned. I don't with with minor league.

Speaker 1 (18:15):
I like those four over the chubby kid.

Speaker 4 (18:18):
Uh whatever, Well, when you give me a basketball reason,
I'll give you some credence.

Speaker 1 (18:23):
Why why you like them over that?

Speaker 12 (18:26):
I will do that, but not right now.

Speaker 3 (18:27):
I want to get to it.

Speaker 5 (18:28):
Then you you got nothing. You got nothing.

Speaker 4 (18:30):
Let me get to my point of the who you
shouldn't have made that point if you wasn't gonna try
to try to defend it.

Speaker 12 (18:37):
I am not pressed about yo.

Speaker 3 (18:39):
Kis like that?

Speaker 1 (18:40):
Like you go ahead, man, bye bye bye.

Speaker 3 (18:43):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (18:44):
Don't.

Speaker 3 (18:44):
First of all, y'all, don't call up here with no
foolishness a right. If you if you feel a certain
type of way, just back it up. We're not saying
We're not saying you can't have your opinion. Just give
us something. Just gonna be like, I don't want to
get into a basketball team. Come on, right, come on?
Who got Scott in North Carolina and a couple of
christ and from what you got? What's up?

Speaker 2 (19:05):
Man?

Speaker 12 (19:05):
How y'all done?

Speaker 1 (19:06):
Good? Brother?

Speaker 3 (19:06):
Good?

Speaker 1 (19:08):
Hey?

Speaker 12 (19:08):
When Roth coming? Man, it's like he's gone for two
weeks now, man.

Speaker 3 (19:11):
That's what happens when you got that type of money.

Speaker 1 (19:14):
Man, You just he'll be back next week.

Speaker 12 (19:17):
Okay, okay, Well this is actually the first Olympic basketball game.
I watched the team USA and when I was seeing
it the first quarter, the other boys they came out
to play Serbia, they came out to play. They were
playing hard, and honestly, I wanted them to win, you know,
just because it'll be interesting to see Yokis take down

(19:38):
autumn guys like that. But the USA they stepped it
up in the fourth quarter and U Joe b he
came and he showed up, so you know, need to
put respect on his name. But I have no worry
about them playing France just because of the guard play.
I watched the French game too, and their guard play

(19:59):
is up the part our guard play, So I'm not
really worried about that. But hats off to Serbia. They
came to play and uh Lebron he stepped up and
Curry stepped up, but definitely put so some respect on
my guy Joel.

Speaker 3 (20:16):
All right, thank you man fort that we got one more.
We got rich in Texas. You'll not a couple of
Christen even what you got.

Speaker 11 (20:22):
Hey, guys, thanks for taking my call.

Speaker 1 (20:24):
Uh.

Speaker 11 (20:25):
I just thought I thought it would be interesting to
compare uh did when Jordan and and Kobe and them?
Did they ever have any close games? And how close
were they?

Speaker 2 (20:36):
So?

Speaker 11 (20:36):
I just feel like Jordan and Kobe they had that
killer instinct right from the get go, and they wouldn't
allow that to that kind of stuff, that those games
to be that close. Not to say that the verbron
hasn't taken over games or anything like that, but I
just feel like those guys had a more of a
killer instinct in the Olympics. And then the other interesting

(20:56):
thing I would I would like to take that dream
team and use that scoring system as if they were
leading up to playing in the eighty eight Olympics. I
bet you they would fare a lot better than because
Bird and Magic and those guys are kind of past
their prime when they played.

Speaker 4 (21:11):
Yeah, yeah, I mean that the Dream Team had no
close games. They won by an average of forty something.

Speaker 3 (21:17):
Yeah, it wasn't even about halftime, it was it was
a wrap like it was. I mean, you were just
watching your favorite players just do anything on the court,
right then.

Speaker 5 (21:26):
Right they did. They won by an average of forty
three point eight points.

Speaker 1 (21:30):
So nothing was now the world, the world, you know,
the world.

Speaker 5 (21:34):
Obviously wasn't as good as it is now.

Speaker 3 (21:36):
No, it wasn't, but it's still was decent. But that
defensive pressure was Scotty and Michael. You couldn't do nothing, man,
you could do anything.

Speaker 1 (21:44):
And then Kobe they did.

Speaker 4 (21:45):
Look they won by eleven over Spain, which was tight.

Speaker 1 (21:49):
It was a tight game. It was a tight game.

Speaker 4 (21:51):
So that one was tight and Kobe, Kobe was huge
in that game down the stretch. And they don't win
it without Kobe. So all right, Tyser's Tower of Tripp
is next, But first.

Speaker 8 (22:01):

it's it's a great honor to finally be here.

Speaker 4 (23:27):
Remember Alex, I told him in no uncertain terms, okay,
that I was taking him to the wood shed in
this season really segment.

Speaker 3 (23:35):
So no, it was those certain terms, right was I
think some? Yeah it was those actual terms.

Speaker 5 (23:42):
Yeah, no uncertain terms, certain.

Speaker 1 (23:44):
Certain You think we can get chrisp starting in like.

Speaker 5 (23:47):
Kind of a classy way of saying.

I gotta break down the rules again.

Speaker 6 (24:07):
But in honor of the upcoming gold medal match between

Speaker 4 (27:07):
A clue.

Speaker 1 (27:08):
First of all, that's not a clue. You want to
you want to know why.

Speaker 3 (27:11):
That's not a climb because Halloween, that's Michael Meyer.

Speaker 6 (27:16):
Yeah, he should have said Michael Friday the thirteenth is Jason.

Speaker 1 (27:20):
So that's not a clue. That's not a clue. That's
so why you are patting yourself on the back. That
was trash.

Speaker 6 (27:26):
I wanted to say, for I'm pretty sure there's not
a guy named Freddy, right.

Speaker 1 (27:31):
I was like, Michael Tatum, who are we talking about? Winning? Garbage?

Speaker 6 (27:37):
One time, Alex gets fred Trump is the Donald Trump?
Fred Trump? Rob was so mad, He's like, who the

Speaker 4 (27:48):
Wait, Jason was Friday the thirteenth, Yes, Friday Thursday.

Speaker 5 (27:53):
Jason, that's a man.

Speaker 7 (27:55):
Now you totally got that wrong. And yeah, but you're winning.

Speaker 1 (28:00):
So it's Freddy Krueger was there? You go, Hey, it
don't matter. I'm like, he ain't get this. I'm not right.
I was gonna say Freddy, but didn't.

Speaker 6 (28:13):
Level number four what e from Salam? Victor Wehm Banyama
one of the rare two nickname guys.

Speaker 7 (28:19):
In sports like he from Salam.

Speaker 6 (28:21):
Most people call him Wemby, but the folks at Nike
call him the Blank.

Speaker 1 (28:28):
Oh my god, Oh that's tough. Are you ready? Thank you? Yes?

Speaker 13 (28:39):
I was nervous for a sec. Okay, you're saying it's tough.
This isn't helping me. You know, you don't even know
what the nickname is I do? Okay, all right, but
it's it's so off. Can you read the question again?
And then he's got.

Speaker 1 (28:52):
Two nicknames, Wemby and the blank everyone knows is when
be there you.

Speaker 3 (29:01):
Go shout out, Rob Parker, Alex play the jingle let
me go with.

Speaker 7 (29:06):
It's a lot of words.

Speaker 5 (29:07):
That's a one word. We are sticklers for the rules here.

Speaker 6 (29:12):
We are the David Stern of Commissioners. Is t That's
not even a word.

Speaker 1 (29:26):
Okay, my bad? Okay? Does he get another? No, you
don't get another?

Speaker 3 (29:30):
Wait? Wait, hold on, wait a second, wait one second.
What that's a name? It's not a word. What you're
talking about? ET is not a word.

Speaker 4 (29:42):
That's I don't know what to call et. That's not
a word. No, Steve the seger is eat a word?

Speaker 8 (29:49):
Is it?

Speaker 1 (29:50):
Come on?

Speaker 6 (29:52):
It's two words? He's okay, switching over so e E Okay,
now he's just saying the letter E.

Speaker 5 (30:00):
He's already done had about.

Speaker 3 (30:03):
That's crazy to me. This is how you This is
how you win though, this is what this is what
you do. I get it ready, here, here we go?

Speaker 1 (30:13):
Is something?

Speaker 4 (30:14):
This was all you had to say, was this, Martian?

Speaker 1 (30:22):
I think I know what it is because of your
not clue.

Speaker 3 (30:25):
Clue, because of mine? Right, Yeah, of course, but that's hard.
They didn't want to keep they didn't want to keep it.
But that's fine. Go ahead, you know what, Martian, this
is bogus.

Speaker 1 (30:41):
I'm gonna say Marvin is.

Speaker 3 (30:43):
Correct from Okay, don't flow this.

Speaker 4 (30:49):
I think he from Promised Space. It's a dinner after
the show or something like.

Speaker 1 (30:53):

Speaker 5 (30:58):
You wouldn't know, marten Et.

Speaker 6 (31:06):
Whoever gets this, next one's gonna win level number? What
is number five?

Speaker 1 (31:10):
I go first? Uh no, it's back to Chris Korean.

Speaker 6 (31:16):
The most accomplished player in French basketball history.

Speaker 1 (31:20):
By the way, former Spurst guard Blank Parker.

Speaker 5 (31:28):
Can you read that one more time?

Speaker 6 (31:30):
Most accomplished player in French basketball history? Former Spurs guard
Blank Parker. I wish we had time for the last question.
The last question is of dude, don't know if you guys
saw it, can you imagine Alic Cameroon?

Speaker 7 (31:42):
That would have been a good one.

Speaker 1 (31:43):
Wait, what is it?

Speaker 6 (31:44):
The last answer was Cameroon for level number. We're not
getting to that was a question, though Joe LMB could
have played for three counts.

Speaker 1 (31:51):
Hey can we do this one?

Speaker 3 (31:53):
Chris?

Speaker 1 (31:54):
Here we go. Okay, hawk hawk Yeah was the last name? Parker? Yes,
hawk hawk a bird that is incorrect with the.

Speaker 6 (32:11):
Chance to steal in the wind. We're looking for a
former Spurs guard, a Frenchman named Blank Parker. Skateboard see
just First of all, isn't that two words?

Speaker 3 (32:25):
No?

Speaker 1 (32:25):

Speaker 5 (32:26):

Speaker 1 (32:29):
That's hawk, right, But he wouldn't have known.

Speaker 5 (32:33):
Champion played off my.

Speaker 1 (32:39):
All right, A couple of girls. We gotta go to break.
We got to go to break.

Speaker 5 (32:46):

Speaker 1 (32:48):
Go to break, then go to break. Unbelievable.

Speaker 8 (32:52):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Odd Couple

Eastern four pm Pacific, back on Fox Sports Radio and
the iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 3 (33:03):
And we're back on the Couple at the tire Rack
dot Com Studios.

Speaker 1 (33:08):
Uh. Chris was severely for winning, severely.

Speaker 3 (33:13):
Beaten and decided that he didn't want to close out
the show.

Speaker 1 (33:18):
I apologize first of all. Let me let me just.

Speaker 3 (33:21):
Say I apologize for being a guest here and coming
on and and literally just just demolishing the host, his ego,
his confidence.

Speaker 1 (33:34):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (33:34):
And I just want to apologize for that, because that's
not my intent. My intent is to come and bring
levity and knowledge, not to make you not want to
finish out the show, Chris. So I apologize. Man, Look
how about this? We tied?

Speaker 1 (33:49):
How about that? Were tied? Okay? That is that good?
Is that good? People? I win every time I'm here, man,
It's crazy. That's why you don't let me be here
on Thursdays. Man, I get it. It's all right, all right, We're.

Speaker 5 (34:03):
Gonna close it out with something interesting.

Speaker 3 (34:05):
Rob g.

Speaker 5 (34:05):
Something's going on on Twitter.

Speaker 6 (34:07):
Oh, there is something going on on Twitter now. As
we've mentioned in the last segment, Jason Tatum was one
of only two players to not playing today's game against Serbia,
and during the game, his mother, who was very active
on social media, apparently retweeted a fan who said, if
Kerr is watching this, and willingly decided, yeah, Jason Tatum
could not help here. He legitimately cannot coach in twenty

(34:29):
twenty eight. So that was bad in and of itself,
but then after the game, several hours in fact, after
they've already won, they vented the gold medal game, she
retweeted a Dick Vitel tweet and quote tweeted, actually, here's
the original Vitel tweet. Someone, please let me know. Is
Jason Tatum injured? He hasn't received any playing time. You
would expect an all NBA player to get his mom

(34:52):
quote tweets it. No, Dick Vitel, And again this is
way after they've already run. No, he's not injured. But
if you find out what's going on, please let me know.
This is unacceptable, makes no sense. So he's playing the
good soldier, but people in his camp not happy about it.

Speaker 3 (35:11):
Of course, that's what happens when you know. I'm sure
people in joeln Bead's camp wasn't happy. I'm sure people
in Halliburton's camp or even more fury.

Speaker 4 (35:23):
The thing is, I think, and I think though for Halliburton,
because he's so young, and you can even just see
it in the way he's handling it on the bench.
He just happy to be here, you know, no expectations
of him. Jason Tatum just won a championship. Look, he's
behind two legends Durant Lebron Now you can not argue.
You could say he could have played instead of Devin

(35:44):
Booker and obviously all that, but I think he has
to look at it like it's just a matchup situation
or a team.

Speaker 5 (35:54):
You know, the way the.

Speaker 4 (35:55):
Roster's constructed, he's obviously better than Drew Holliday, Derek White.

Speaker 1 (36:01):
And not defensively though.

Speaker 4 (36:03):
No, But but I do think on a team like
this where you don't have to focus on scoring, he
could focus on defense.

Speaker 3 (36:13):
Yeah, but is he though he could do it? But
we know what Derek White and Drew Holliday, we know
what they're there for. Right, So when you have a Lebron,
a step A KD right now, you really need the
defense now right, Lebron is gonna give you it in spurts.
Steph has never been a defensive juggernaut and KD you

(36:33):
know he can't play defense.

Speaker 4 (36:36):
Tell Pate or tell Tatum though, just like Kobe said,
now he's not the defender Kobe was.

Speaker 5 (36:42):
But you could tell him, Look, we want you to
focus on defense, but.

Speaker 3 (36:46):
If you if that's not been in your willhouse telling
somebody to do that, and that's not what they do.

Speaker 1 (36:52):
He ain't bad. It ain't like he's.

Speaker 3 (36:55):
Not a bad defender, but he's not at the level
of the first team all defense into not without.

Speaker 4 (37:03):
The responsibility of having to score twenty five points or thirty.

Speaker 3 (37:07):
But sometimes it's difficult. Sometimes it's difficult to just snap
into that position. If they haven't seen it, they've been practicing,
they've been playing, and if they haven't seen that type
of defensive.

Speaker 1 (37:19):
Pressure or effort, then I get it. I understand.

Speaker 4 (37:22):
I'll tell you what if they had lost, you really
would have heard something from Missing and other people, right,
all right, Eve from good job except for Tyson's tower.

Speaker 5 (37:32):
You cheated.

Speaker 1 (37:33):
