R party. You're listening to Fox Sports Radio. Yeah, it
(00:42):
is The I Couple. I'm Chris brus Haara longside my
partner Rob Parker, and we are coming to you live
from the Fox Sports Radio studios, doing live great show
for you today. Lot of NBA to get into. Great
series still under way. Will history not only repeat itself,
(01:05):
but will it take it even further? And something we've
never seen before happening in the NBA? Maybe we gotta
keep an eye on that one. But there's so much
to talk about. Robbing eyes picked the nets are done toast.
We knew it yesterday at this time, but it was
official as we were getting off the air, So we
(01:28):
will do our nets post mortem as well, and so
much to get into. Gonna be a lot of fun,
so keep it like right here on Fox Sports Radio,
the iHeartRadio app or a serious XM Channel eighty three. However,
you may be listening all right, let me welcome in
my partner, Rob Parker. What up man? What's happening to
(01:48):
mister Chris Boussard? How are you on this trash talking Tuesday?
That's right? You sound like you ready to try. You
ready to hear some trash talk and do some trash
tall doubt, no doubt. Out Today on dead Spin, I
trashed the Cincinnati Reds, Chris, Okay, because they're They've made fans,
or tried to make fans who were wearing paper bags
(02:12):
over their heads, tried to get them to take them off.
They were doing like a live interview, and an official
came home and goes, can you take those bags off
your head? No? The Reds that lost eleven in a row, Chris,
you know they traded got rid of all their good players.
So no fans have a right to wear paper bags.
Chris is from Louisiana maybe, or one of those states.
(02:34):
You remember the Ain'ts Chris? When the Saints were terrible,
people used to wear paper bags. Are they hurting anybody? No?
Let them wear paper bags if they want. Rob. I
wore a paper bag on National television yesterday? Did you
in our show? First Things First? And when I was talking,
I was asked, have I am I done with the nets?
(02:57):
Have I given up on them? Or do I think
they could come back from that three oh deficit? And
when they when the when the camera came on me,
I had a paper bag over my head. Oh hey,
I said, does this answer your question? It sounds like
one of my girlfriends in high school. She was a
two bagger. A bag over my head and a bag
over her head just in case the bag on her
(03:19):
head fell off. I'm just saying everything that's not funny.
Don't use that one, Rob, don't use that actually, Yeah,
just a lot of Robs jokes. Right, you've hurt Rob.
Alex didn't want to tell you this, but he's hurt
all your jokes, is that right, whether it's from you
(03:42):
or somebody else, from somebody's dad, right? Ay? All right?
I wish I could hear T and T because Barkley's
talking about he and Kevin Durant going at it. Of
course we'll get into that later, but Rob, you saw
Barkley said Durant was not the bust driver in Golden State,
(04:04):
and you know, meaning the guy that drove you know,
Lant the way to the championship and Durant posting on
Instagram photos of Barkley with Elijah Wan and Drexler Elijahan
and pipping doctor Ja and Moses. So it was good.
They went back and forth. But hopefully it'll all being
(04:26):
good nature natured fun. But um, we'll get into that
and much more. We got e from Salim joining us
at the bottom of the hour, and Sheckyl City to
wrap up this hour. And of course you at the
third hour of the show, you can do your trash
talking thing. Get thirty or forty seconds trash anyone anything
(04:47):
in the world of sports. We got superproducer Rob g
in the house. We got DJ Alex Seiser aka Alex
the Vegan in the house, and we got the low
quacious mister Ryan Finley in the house. All right, Rob,
let's get to this. The nets, of course go down,
get swept. I'm not even gonna say they go down swinging.
(05:11):
They just go down. Four oh. First round. Kevin Durant,
who had had he had a horrible series in the
first three games. He does score thirty nine points last night,
but he shot thirteen for thirty one and you know,
missed a big free throw at the end of the
(05:32):
game with twenty two seconds left. Maybe they wouldn't have
won it anyway, but it was a big free throw.
It was indicative of his series, you know what I mean,
Like it was almost fitting that he didn't make it. Yep, yep.
And So the question I want to throw at you
rob a lot of people talking about this, do you
think this loss has any impact on Kevin Durant's legacy? No,
(05:56):
I think today it does because we don't know what
the future holes. But I don't think so. I mean,
you could go in a lot of players career when
Lebron in the Miami after they lost that I mean
Lebron when they lost to Jason Terry and the Dallas Mavericks,
it was the end of the world. Oh my god, Lebron,
How's he ever gonna come back from that? Easy? He
(06:18):
won two championships in Miami. He came back. So yes,
today for today's narrative, Chris, and until he gets another opportunity,
it'll it'll be there. You can't run from it, you
can't duck it. It's there. But it doesn't mean it's
gonna define him because he has years and now if
(06:39):
he's retiring, I guess, you know, some people could hold
it against him. But he didn't win a couple of championships.
He was finals MVP twice. He put up good numbers.
It's not like he's never had any big games in
the playoffs or made big shots or anything like that
to say he never was able to do it. So
I don't think it's as dire as people make. And
(07:00):
I remember two years ago when the Clippers had the
embarrassing choke job against Denver, right up three to one,
and it was a choke job. Kawuhi was terrible. Remember
in game seven, Chris terrible. Uh, Paul George absolutely got awful.
(07:20):
I mean, how would they come back from that? And
the next year without Doc Rivers was the one who
got fired. Somehow they came back and they went to
the Western Conference finals, even though Kawhi didn't even play.
But I'm saying Paul George was a part of the
debacle and that team somehow was able to right itself.
(07:41):
No one's talking about, Uh what was it? What would
they calling Paul George a pandemic? Pandemic? P like that
went away because he played well, and people remember the
last thing you do. So if we're talking about today, Chris, absolutely,
if we're talking about six years from now and and
(08:02):
he gets to win again or whatever, wins an MVP
or whatever it might be, or had some big shots
or big moments, then know that'll be a footnote in
a terrible series that he once had. But it will
not define him. I think it's prison of the moment,
and I get it. It was awful, so it's hard
for people just to ignore it and write it all. Well,
(08:25):
it won't define him no matter what, because Kevin Durant
has had a terrific career. This is one series and
believe it or not, Rob this is the first time
Kevin Durant's ever been swept. And being swept in the playoffs,
all the young uns out there being swept in the playoffs.
(08:48):
Yeah it hurts. Yeah that that day, that week you
get disc but that doesn't ruin a legacy because virtually
everyone has been swept virtually just about. Michael Jordan was
swept more than once. Lebron James has been swept more
than once. Kareem ab Dude Jabbar was swept in the
(09:13):
heart of his crime by Bill Walton another center, Kareem
and Magic were swept together Shock. Rob. Guess how many
times Shock was swept from the place, say three times? Six?
Oh wow, I did not know early on. It was bad.
Some of them with Kobe, So some of them with Kobe.
(09:37):
My point is being pointed. Yeah, it doesn't ruin a
legacy by any stretch. And it's actually impressive that Duran
hasn't been swept. You know, the first time he's swept
it was in his fourteenth year. But here's what I
will say, Rob, and you will you you kind of
touched on it a little in the moment. It does
(10:00):
hacked the way people view you and the way you
erase it is you come back from it, Magic, john
you mentioned a few of them. Lebron Ron in twenty
eleven was getting destroy and how did he get how'd
he get rid of it? He came back and won
the next two championships. Rob Magic Johnson. Magic had already
(10:24):
won two titles. Magic had had one of the greatest
performances in NBA history as a rookie to win the
championship in nineteen eighty forty two points, fifteen rebounds, seven
assists with kareem out and when they got swept in
eighty three by the Sixers, and then in nineteen eighty
four against the Celtics, Magic was horrible. I mean, the
(10:47):
best point guard ever dribbled out the clock, had some
crazy turnovers late in the games. It was bad, and
he was being ridiculed as tragic Johnson. Rob. They were saying,
he's too happy, he's always smiling. Yeah, he ain't. He
don't have the he don't have a killer janet. Yeah,
(11:10):
he gets rough, he can't handle it. That's what they
were literally saying. He's too busy kissing Isaiah. You know
what I mean that I know, but you know what
I'm saying. But and he But how did he overcome it? Rob?
He ended up winning three more championships. And my point
(11:30):
is that this does I do. The one thing I
think is this changes the way we need to talk
about Kevin Durant and mine. I agree with that until
further notice, Yeah, right, until further notice. Though. But it
ain't like he's off the charts and we don't. He's
a top twenty player. He's a top twenty player. But
(11:53):
I do think his cape Superman cape to a degree,
he's been removed because there was this feeling that he's
just absolutely unguardable. I said it myself, like, literally, he's
a seven footer withold handle and Jay, how in the
world can you stop him? And we saw Jason Tatum
stop him, we saw Grant Williams stop him, we saw
(12:15):
physical defense stop him and actually shake him up. And
so I think it's Kate's been removed a bit. I
think Rob I think people need to stop saying he's
the best player in the world. I think Yannis is
the best player in the world. And I think it's
fairly clear, not that Duran's not great and up there
(12:38):
it ain't. It ain't even until further notice. To me,
I mean, anything can happen. Maybe Yannis falls on his
face the next you know. But I'm just saying, right,
I'm not into all this. I'm not gonna see here
and say, well, if Kyrie Irvan wins the next three
championships when we were talking differently about him, of course
we will. No, I know, but I'm just but I'm saying.
All I'm saying My point is that you gotta be
(13:02):
careful when you try to bury people after things don't
work out. It doesn't mean that it's over or you
can't rebound a win. That's all I'm saying, Chris, and
and I'm not I'm not burying no, but I know
people are oh you know, blah blah blah blah. Yeah, yeah, okay,
(13:22):
you could say that today, and I just think you
need to be careful because we gave you plenty of
examples when I was saying I don't think he's the
best player in the world. Okay, yeah, regardless of whether
he wins next year. He doesn't play the defense of Yannis,
he doesn't rebound like Yannis, he can't go in the
post like Yannis. I mean, Yannis scored Danna. Yannis don't
(13:44):
have the bag that k D has, but he scores
as much as more efficiently. So that's all I'm saying.
I think we need to stop with that in my view.
And also, Rob, you've heard some people say best score
of all time, stop it, stop it. He's not. He's
not the best score of all time. Put some respect
(14:07):
on Michael George's dam. I mean, obviously there's plenty of
respect on him Jay's name, But I'm just saying Kevin
Durant ain't the best score. Ever, and if he was
the best score, why didn't he take little little little
Jason Tatum little by Durant standers into the post. Okay,
he's guarding me well on the primimitter, he's got a
hand in my face, he's blocking my jumper. A few times.
(14:29):
I'm gonna take him in the post. He didn't do it,
so I don't want to hear that. So I think
it does change a bit the way we think of Durant.
And you're right, Rob, if he comes back to me,
he's got one thing to prove or one last thing.
(14:50):
He's got his two rings. But I want to see him.
I think for me, the question for him is can
he lead his own team to a championship. A lot
of people feel like that's why he went to Brooklyn
Kenny will lead his own team, And so far it
hasn't happened. He hasn't even led him pass the conference
finals or into the conference finals, I should say. And
(15:15):
so I just think it changes a little bit of
the way we talk about him, think about him. But
obviously still a top twenty player of all time, no
question about that. All right, eight seven seven ninety nine
on Fox eight seven seven nine, nine six sixty three
sixty nine. Is You'll turn the way in? Does the suite?
(15:35):
Does the broom? Does? Kevin Durant being definitively outplayed by
Jason Tatum in this Boston series with the Nets change
his legacy. We want to hear from you eight six,
eight seven seven nine nine six sixty three sixty nine.

battery trouble, go to Auto Zone. It's your battery solution

seven ninety turned away in Did being broomed affect Durrant's legacy?
(17:08):
All right, let's kick it off, Chris with um Zach
in Phoenix, Arizona. You're on the odd couple of Fox
Sports Radio on this trash talking Tuesday. What up, Zach? Rob,
Chris Man, I'll miss you guys. Man. How are you
guys doing you? I'm doing well and Rob Man, I
(17:28):
gotta give you propis Man. I think the takeas you
had you last few weeks improved greatly, Man, So I'm
really in your corner right now. But to answer the question,
improved greatly. Struggle was a struggle? What No? But what
I wanted to say was you used to be pedestrian, Rod,
(17:49):
but you've been greatly. No, No, Rob, it's always been
great man. But I just I've been feeling this taste
lay Man. He's been speaking to my soul, my man.
I appreciate that, Zak ahead, what's love, But um, I
don't think it affects his narrative. I think we're all
prisoners of the moment right now. Kobe Bryants had bad series,
(18:09):
Lebron James has had dad series and it didn't really
affect their greatness. Um, So I don't think this one
series is going to affect his greenness because we can't
forget the fact that Kevin Durant was wallowing us against
the Bucks last playoffs with his scoring ability. So I
just think this is just a bad series for him.
It was a bad matchup and without having the help
that he deserved. Um, it just was a tough out
(18:30):
for him. All right, Yeah, you appreciated Zach and Phoenix.
You know, we appreciate your support. Uh, let's go to
Tyler in Sacramento. You're on the odd couple of Fox
Sports raided. What up, Tyler? We're going on, gentlemen. That's
a that's a shout out for Mark from I know
it is because I thought going on right away, what's
(18:53):
going on? Gentleman? First, I wanted to say that, you know,
you guys got me through a lot of tough times.
You know, I'm in the service, and I recently came
back from Africa missed my daughter, my first child birth
out there serving the country. So you know, you gotta
do a lot of good things out of here now,
Thank you, man. We appreciate that. What's your daughters? Were
you listening over? You aren't listening over in Africa, were you?
(19:16):
So I would catch you guys like the day after
because if I couldn't potentially get some type of Wi Fi,
you know, I just would always tune in on the
Spotify after words. So I never We appreciate that, man,
We appreciate and we appreciate your service. Yes, absolutely, shue
y'all y'all are really then? Was that serving out here? Man?
Y'all y'all keep it one hundred twenty four seven. Every
(19:37):
time I listened to you guys, You guys are like
these rudy cool radio stations about all this. When Chris
and I came together, we said we weren't doing that
kind of show. We talked about it. We're gonna we're
gonna keep it real whether people like it or not.
And that's where we are four years later. So we
appreciate that. Go ahead. What's your comment, No doubt, No,
So I just kind of agree with the call it previously,
(19:59):
you know, I think it's the cliche him to do obviously,
kind of like that Monday morning quarterback syndrome where it's
kind of like a temporary black eye. You know, everybody
looks at it, and that's what that's recency bias. It's
what we saw literally last night, not even twenty five
hours removed, and I don't think it's gonna effective legacy.
We've seen what this guy can do when the stage
is the brightest, and he delivered now rather than you
(20:21):
want to have people want to hate on him for
going to Golden State. That's need to hear North there.
But at the end of the day, he delivered before
when it mattered, and I think we'll see him do
it again. There you go, Tyler, appreciate the call. I
think we hear his daughter in the background right there. Yeah.
I'm like, yes, all right, let's squeeze one more in
Chris Andre in Massachusetts. I mean, in Massachusetts, you're on
(20:42):
the eye couple of Fox Sports Radio. What's going on?
Thanks for taking the call. Yes, one hundred percent. His
legacy has been changed. And Kevin Durant and his feelings.
Right now, he's on social media talking about who was
driving the bus and who's riding the bus and the
fact of the matter, it's a clear and under it's
definitive right now, Yannis as a bus driver last year
(21:04):
brought a championship to Milwaukee and for everybody to see.
This year, Kevin Durant, with my opinion, back the wrong
horse as his running mate wasn't able to get out
of the first round. So listen, if we want to
start talking this all time G fourteen classification status, Kevin
Durant is not in the top ten anymore, okay, because
he hasn't been able to lead like the other all
time greade his squad to the promised lad Not that
(21:27):
he can't, but he hasn't yet. I think this generation,
with all the fame abulations, social au they think because
they've done one thing, they've done everything, and you haven't.
You have to actually get to the mountain top KD.
And you're not there yet. You can get there, but
until then you're in the back of the busy. Yeah,
and I don't think. I'm not sure KD can lead
his own team. I mean He's had plenty of He's
(21:49):
had eleven years to lead his own team and hadn't
done it once to a championship. So I don't know
that we can say he's obviously a tremendous player. I
never had him in my top ten and so I
don't have you know, obviously don't have him in there now.
But you know, he's got time to redeem himself. I
think though he's we want to see him do it,
(22:09):
and so we got from Salim coming up. We'll talk
NFL and NBA with him, but first be sure to
catch live editions of The Odd Couple with Chris Broussard
and Rob Parker weekdays at seven pm Eastern four pm
Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeart Radio app
Our next guest got his own theme music. That's right
(22:30):
up in the Bay Area West Coast. Former NFL offensive
lineman now a star here at Fox Sports Radio. Weekend
hosts our man E from solon, what's up, brother, Let's
get right to it. We get into you a little late.
(22:52):
We were just talking Robin I about whether or not
getting swept in the fashion he did has impacted having
durrance legacy. You've probably have heard a lot of people
talking about today. What's your view on that? What his
legacy is his legacy? Right, He's been an MVP, he's
won uh uh some championships. He's been Finals MVP twice.
(23:15):
So the legacies we get so caught up in, like
you can't take anything any of goes away, right, unless
there's some big cheating scandal that comes up to strip
them of his titles, then his legacy is gonna be
his legacy. Right. Um, we don't hold Jordan's Wizards against him.
He's feel the greatest basketball player to ever played, you know,
so we gotta keep that in context. I'm just disappointed
(23:39):
and and and the lack of of of team, the
lack of a fight that the Brooklyn Nets brought to
the playoffs. Yeah, I feel you, I feel you. And
they didn't seem to hurt afterwards. They seemed relieved that
it was over. Yeah, there's a lot of a lot
of laughing and clapping from Ogan and ain't get good
(24:02):
job y'all. But like Marcus Smart was seventy and Kyrie
at the end, he was like giving Kyrie advice. I'm like, yo, Kyrie,
this was your backup. That's that's u AAU basketball man.
Everybody's friendly, everybody's cool. Uh, that's where we are today.
(24:24):
Let me ask you real quick before we get to
some football as well, about James Harden in the seventy
six ers. And we know Doc rivers history. Oh late
in the postseason, he's never choked down A three old
leads a lot of three ones. This would be incredible, right,
How important is this for Harden and for and Doc?
(24:47):
It is extremely important. One thing you can't do is
combined a coach who struggles in playoff series with the
with the a player who doesn't show up in playoffs theory,
you have those two things on the same team. Uh.
That that's not a good look. And you know Jombi
is trying to abuse cold and say what he can
say James harder to rekindle some of that MVP type
(25:11):
of basketball. I just think he's out of shape. I
think he's unmotivated. Uh, and I think he'd be unmotivated,
you know what I mean. Look, Look, we've seen James
Harden in the playoffs completely disappeared, right, what other then unmotivated?
Is that like he's an all skill in the world.
(25:32):
Remember there was an argument about him being the best
scorer of the basketball in the history of the game.
Now all of a sudden in the playoffs, he can't
score the basketball like that. Those two things don't go together.
So it has to be something, right. Well, I think
it's a bit of fear. Fear the big moment, you know,
gets tights if Philly, if Philly didn't win Game six. Man,
(26:00):
I think the dudes in the Sixers locker room, including
inb because I know him be hit that three the
other night, but he hadn't been awesome in the clutch
either hadn't been hardened. But no, I think that and
maybe Doc rob he might be tight. I think they're
gonna be tight in that Sixers locker especially when people
start talking about the history from you know, you can't
(26:21):
get away from that. Uh, if you're Doc Rivers and
you just can't. No, you can't. And and and the
only way to change history is is to change your future.
And it looks like they're on the verge of another collapse.
We look at what happened last year with the Sixers,
and everybody blamed Ben Simmons and he's not gonna do this,
And Ben sim that's a whole other situation. But now
(26:45):
you got the guy you're going, You got James Harden,
you got all these pieces, and you still are on
the verge of giving up a tremendous lead and finding
yourselves in the same situation you've been the last few years.
It's got to be just nerve wracking. Even from you
brought up I'm sorry, right, you brought up Ben Simmons,
(27:08):
and you know you the story came out today that
there is you know, his back injury is related to
mental stress, and you know we know that backs can
injuries can be caused by that if you're in mental anguish,
mental stress. Have you seen you know, in your career
in the NFL or even just playing college ball, whatever
(27:28):
it might have been. Have you seen this before? And
are you concerned about his future because this seems to
be mental for him. Yeah, I've never seen it before,
and yet I am concerned. I mean, when you talk
about the amount of money players make and the things
(27:49):
that they have to go through to get themselves to
this point. Look, mental health, I get it, I understand it,
but we were really addressing it because you know, the pandemic,
all of these things have taken a toll on people.
I understand that I am not being unsympathetic to what's
going on, But what I'm saying is you can't make
(28:11):
fifty million dollars and not want to do the job
they're paying you for. Right, I'm gonna come out. I'm
gonna give you two minutes. If it's not working, I
gotta go sit down. But I'm not gonna show up
and alligator jackets with you know, fifteen, he'd be looking good.
(28:33):
I'm not gonna look good. But let me let me
ask you this though. I mean, I think sometimes we
need to stop pushing people out on the court that
shouldn't be there. And I'll give you the example I
from UH people shamed Anthony Davis, who was injured to
get out on the court for five minutes because Charles
(28:54):
Darton called him street clothes and he went, I could
have done some serious damage. I don't know how the doctors,
the Laker doctors, cleared him to play. He was obviously
heard from from the starting horn of the game. Am
I right? I mean that was You're right, You're right,
But do you know the difference is then Simmons hasn't
played basketball and eleven months no, I get that. I'm
(29:17):
just saying, eleven months one. We can't play kate them.
We can't make excuses for not it's eleven months. Why
isn't he in shape? Why hasn't his mental been taken
care of? Why it isn't back better? It's been eleven
months of no basketball and therapy and relaxation. It's not
(29:39):
the same thing of a player who's been injured during
the actual season trying to come back. Hey, last day,
because we're running out of time. The NFL Draft is Thursday.
How closely do you follow the draft? And I mean
it sounds like it feels like it's it's doesn't have
the electricity of normal drafts because we don't have any
like high profile quarterbacks. U where are you on this draft?
(30:01):
And is there somebody maybe you've peeped or heard about,
somebody that we should pay attention to. I look, I'm
I love the draft that changed my life, even though
it was at the end of the draft one I
got drafted for the Dealer. Were you missed it? Irrelevant?
Were you the last guy I was? I was one
ninety nine, one ninety nine. Why but you know thirteen
(30:24):
years later in one hundred and fifty nine games later.
Put on that career out of it because I'm a
fall player and I'm an athlete, and I don't care
where you get drafted. My take on the drafted, Look,
it's gonna change a lot of people's lives. Some lives
are gonna be changed tomorrow, I mean on Thursday, and
some lives are gonna be changed in a couple of years.
(30:45):
It took me a couple of years for me to
really get to that amount of money where I changed
everybody's life. Either way, when you get this opportunity, cherish it,
take it and take it serious, all right. Don't let
this slip through your hands, because they'll never would be
another time in your life where you have this much
promise and this much ability to generate generational wealth at
(31:06):
such a young age. I feel that words well spoken,
all right, Eve from Salim, that's our man, great job, brother,
Thank you brother. Piece. The Phoenix Suns are seeing now
how the other half lives. We'll get into that next

Checkle City, the whole base for Rob Parker's dans against
the spread. All right, Checkle City, soon to be sponsored
by Caesar Sports Book and bad Night last night. One
out of two be quiet, Chris, just the pay attention
one out of two or one into me one and two.
(32:37):
I'm sorry, one and two correct last night? Thank you
for correct And Uh, let's go. My best bet is
the Hawks plus four and a half. And what is it? Chris? Uh?
Who is it? Butler and Lowry about both out for
the whole Lowry he's been out, Remember he's been out
for a few games. And Butler, Butler's out with a
(32:58):
knee knee and drowning out. Seriously, is he's been playing great?
But obviously if if this is something that Lingers, uh,
they're gonna have trouble. Yeah, but they got an easier
side of the bracket. You know there's no Lee in Toronto. Yeah,
So I have the Hawks plus four and a half
tonight in Miami. Chris, also, I'm taking the Grizzlies. I
(33:18):
like the Grizzlies a lot minus six and a half.
I know they lost that nail bier close one, the
tightest series in many really, and I'm going with the
Sons minus six and a half at home against the Pelicans, Chris.
Of the Pelicans win in Phoenix here, I will I
would be stunned. I just you know, they tied it up,
(33:41):
it's two two. I just think the wightest Sons lost.
How they're feeling, you know what the finals last last year.
I just think that this is their fight because if
they lose this, they might get closed out in New
Orleans in the next game. Rob And you know, I
picked the Sons to go all the way. Now. Obviously
if they're without Booker, you know, I'm not bounded at
(34:03):
but I gotta be honest, especially as they are right now.
If Booker was playing, I would I would want them
to just win. Man. You know, I'm not like a
Son's fan. I kind of would like I would like
to see New Orleans keep playing. Really yeah, I mean
they're just they're just exciting and and Rob and we'll
(34:24):
get to this maybe tomorrow or another day, depending if
they win the night. But I also wonder. We asked
Antonio Daniels last night, Rob, what if New Orleans were
to win, do you bring back Zion? Yeah? You do
for the next series. Yeah, we'll talk about it, you know,
just do something if they got Zion back, because who
(34:47):
would they play there? There? They're the one eight. They
would play Dallas and iin't have a shot. Remember, I'm
just telling you who I bet on. All right, all right,
we were we started all the top. We're talking about
the Suns. We're talking about the Sons and the and
the Pelicans. Rob and um, you you have a take
(35:08):
on the Sons. I like the Sons a lot when healthy.
I think they had a wonderful year offensively and defensively.
They were right there and at the top of the league.
I think mine Williams is one of the best coaches
in the league. Chris Paul playing great, although I think
he has trouble doing it every game at his age,
(35:28):
doing you know, like big time scoring, which is what
they need from him now without Booker. With Booker, I
think they can win it, but without him I don't.
So we'll have to just see what his status is
going forward. Yeah, I'm only things. You know, this kind
of happened last year in their favor and now it's
(35:49):
kind of the basketball gods, it's the other way around,
and you just kind of kind of deal with it.
I know they were not happy with the officiating Chris
and the disparity, right, and the free throws in the
last game. Uh, And I get that in basketball, we've
seen it before where it's not we're not new to
the party, right. We've seen it in playoff games and
(36:09):
sometimes it thinks it just does, but it happens, and
there's nothing really else the Suns can do. But you're
missing up. You know, you're missing a big piece and
nobody cried. You weren't boo hooing for the Lakers last
year or for Denver or for the Clippers in the
Western Conference final. No Kawhi. Oh, this isn't fair. We
don't want to win like this. I never heard anybody
(36:31):
say that. It happens, and it happens to you know,
a lot of teams and sometimes I think Antonio said
at Chris didn he said yesterday, go back through history
and look at a lot of teams in the finals
are the play Guys are missing, guys are heard, and
it changes the complexion of the game. So I'm just saying,
(36:51):
the Suns, you got the benefit last year and now
it's coming back to bite you. That's all. Well, the
thing is, though arrived, they they they had they were
bitten by the injury bug a bit themselves last year.
So it was like they missed a couple of games. Well,
he missed the first two games of the conference finals,
right man, I'm just a serious. That's a lot. Yeah,
(37:13):
that could be the end of a series. But they
actually ended up winning those games. But but I'm just
s just saying, yeah, they were, they were down in
that Lakers series when when Davis got hurt. Jamal Murray
is a big part of Denver. We know that. And
Kawui not having Kawhi, I think if Kauhi played in
that Western Conference Finals that the Clippers would have been
to went to the championship. I just you know what
(37:36):
I mean, just based off of it. Not there's no guarantee,
but you know, there's a good shot that they would
have been able to do it because they played them
to six games. If I remember without them, you know, no,
I went six. Yeah, I went six, and they were
two and two with Chris, but you know, they, like
I said, and if you remember, Phoenix won the first
two with without Chris, right and if you remember, remember
(37:58):
the tip at the game too, remember that ye tipping
or something like, they were that close from from winning
one game, and that that was a miracle shot at
the end, right right. So um, but we'll see. Yeah,
injuries rob Detroit's first championship with Isaiah and Dumars Magic
played seventy five minutes in that series. Byron Scott, I
(38:21):
believe was out the entire series or most of it.
So injuries, it's unfortunate, Um, you know, but it is
a part of the game and and it has been
a part of the playoff basketball for a long time.
All Right, we got two hours left, you know what
to do? Keep it locked
