(01:13):
That's right, Thanks for Lebron and yes, we'll take some
of your requests. We'll do that. So much good stuff
to talk about. In the first hour, We're gonna talk
with Sean Powell from NBA dot Com we'll get some
stuff coming up on that. On the NBA playoffs, we'll

(01:34):
have a little inside the park, a little baseball stuff
for you. That's also in the first hour. In the
second hour trolling or rolling with Martin Weiss. We'll get
to that. And Ryan Hollins, the former NBA VET and
NBA analyst, will have more NBA as the playoffs are
fully underway and less. Welcome in. Mister, E from Salam

(01:58):
and I from How you doing, buddy, I'm good man.
How you doing, man? It's good. Good to work with you. Good.
It's always good to come in and work with you, man,
no doubt. We know we're gonna go at it and
it's gonna be fun. Fun three hours. What's happening today?
Anything good with you? You know what? Um? Today was
the first day of of of school from home with

(02:19):
my chi so uh, you know, I got a fourth
and a first grader, and it just seemed the summer
was long and short at the same time. That happened, right, Um.
But the kids are they're good. They they adjusted well
the first day. We as parents adjusted well the first

(02:41):
day as well, because it's a it's a shock to
us because I can't sit my six year old in
front of a zoom for three hours and expect him
to sit and pay attention. So it's constant. Hey put
that down, and we don't need They don't need to
see your dance moves. I couldn't know. You put stuff
to animal down? Where you going? Like? How many hours

(03:02):
are they on the zoo? So they'll they'll go for
like an hour, take a break, then they'll get back on.
They'll have an assignment to do during the break, then
they'll get back on for another like forty minutes, and
then have like an enrichment or at lunch. They'll come
back for a third and that goes anywhere between forty
five minutes to an hour. So I mean it's spaced
out pretty good. I guess based on what the teachers need,

(03:25):
and I'm sure they the teachers need times. I feel
so sorry for them. They didn't sign up for this,
and I bet you you also. I'm teaching remotely and
online at USC and we had our first class on Monday,
same kind of thing. Man, It's it's an adjustment. I'd
rather be in a classroom. But safety, yes, comes first,

(03:46):
even with football. For all those hard headed football coaches
but we'll get We'll talk about some of that stuff
a little later on, but let's first welcome in the
odd couple. Cool. We wouldn't be able to do this
fine radio program without them, rob Gs O do. Sir
Alex is our engineer as always, and David Gascon's at

(04:06):
the anchor desk. He'll keep us updated throughout the program.
And let's just kick it off. I know playoffs are
going on today, but everybody's all worked up, got their
panties in the bunch. The Clippers loss, Oh my god,
they're not as good as you think they are. They're
not gonna win the NBA Finals. We've heard all that.
I know. It's so easy to jump on that. I

(04:27):
got one word for you, and I don't even need
Chris Bussard to say two words. Stop it? Are you
kidding me? Did you really think they we're gonna go
sixteen to no and not lose any games? You never
let me let me. I had an old radio partner
in Detroit name Mark the Man Wilson, and he always
said this, and he for me. He's right on the money.

(04:48):
You never like how you lose. It doesn't matter what
it is. You're never happy with it. You know, it's
always like, oh, well we didn't do that, so we
didn't do that, or we lost by two, or we
got blown out. You never like when you lose. So
obviously they're not happy that they lost in the series
is one one, but let's just be realistic. Your number

(05:10):
two guy, Paul George, had an awful night, foul trouble
early on. We've seen that in the NBA the neutralizer,
the foul trouble to a star. But anyway, four for
seventeen he was awful. Uh Kyrie, I mean Kawhi letter
play great had thirty five? Did his thing? No, Patrick Beverly,

(05:31):
that's the biggest problem with the with the Clippers is
that guys they just haven't been able to stay healthy.
And obviously you lose, Patrick Beverly, it's a big loss.
But I am not for one second, one iota second
guests and the Clippers are wondering if they're going to
get there. They lost, they move on, get ready for

(05:51):
Game three. Okay, so I get all that. And that
was a good soapbox right there, right, you jumped on
your soapbox. Yes, that was time, and you're doing your thing.
The problem I have and I said this on my show,
which you can check out on Saturdays. Um, well you
know this very same network. What I said was the

(06:15):
Mavericks are going to be a problem for the Clippers, right.
Think about that first game. Clippers poured it out one
eighteen to one ten. The only reason in my mind
watching that game, the only reason they won that game
was why you don't believe. No, You've been around a

(06:35):
long time, so you of course Zingis was out the game.
That made a huge difference. Patrick Beverlely not playing last
night make a huge difference. That's what I'm talking about, right,
I get it right. These are the ebbs and flows
when you miss. When you're missing number one. Patrick Beverley
is a He's a bench player, whether they start him
sometimes or not. He's a bonafi bench guy. We know that. Yeah,

(06:57):
but he is a play but let's keep it real.
He's a bench player. Porzingis is a twenty two and
twelve guys starter, bona fide all star. Right, So when
you when you take a bench player out the game,
someone has to fill in. When you take an all
star out the game, there's no filling in. You get
what I'm saying. So when they removed Porzingis in that

(07:19):
which was a travesty that changed the dynamic of that
game moving forward and what they wanted to do offensively.
He stays, in that game, we may be having a
different conversation. We may be having all the Clippers are down,
you know, uh two old like. So watching them play

(07:40):
last night, I was very shocked how flat the Clippers
came out right like almost like they didn't take them
they were Is that what I mean? They came out flat,
They came out No, you can't have that. But the
problem is this group, they're core group, hasn't been together

(08:02):
enough this year, right, do you right? You agree with
that they haven't played together enough. When they are together,
they're like fifteen or in one or fifteen to two.
So once those guys are there, and and and I
get your point. The only problem is they beat the
Mavericks all three times during the regular season, and they

(08:23):
didn't have their full squad, So I'm not gonna buy
into that. I didn't think they were gonna sweep the Mavericks,
you know, regular season in playoffs. No, But but did
you think they were gonna sweep you thought? No? No, no, no, no, Okay,
but what the like I said when I watched that
first game, I said, oh, wait a minute, when Pazinga's
got thrown out and they were still in the game.

(08:45):
You gotta remember they were in that game until late
I said, Oh wow, somebody forgot to tell Luca Dontage
that he's not the man right that Kauai or Paul
George is gonna lock him down. They forgot to give
him that message. There's a reason why he's He's the
second leading scorer in the first two playoff games of

(09:08):
a career, right behind the Great George, Mike and Lakers.
It's a reason why this kid is different. He doesn't care.
He doesn't care about Kawhi, he doesn't care about Paul George,
Doc Rivers, nobody out there. He's carried himself that way
this entire year to where he's gonna step up to

(09:31):
the challenge. That's why that's why they were a seventh seed,
because he's that good. Dallas has historically throughout this season
lost games where they were leading in the last two
minutes or the last one minute, more than any other
team ever. And what every analyst said is if they
can fix that problem, they're in trouble. That's just like

(09:55):
saying that the Trailblazers are eight seed. We know that's
not true. We know that's now you are what your
record says, you are a seed. They were disclose as
much as people are making about Portland, they were a
levertu if he drove to the basket. They were almost
got knocked out of the playoffs. But the Nets without

(10:17):
any of their stars, Okay, no kd no Kyrie and
Dame Lillard for all the points and all the accolades,
was a bucket away from being knocked out. Of the players,
we'll get to them, Okay. I was just making a comparison.
When I look at the just say, you know, I
when I look at the Dallas Mavericks play, they play

(10:37):
better than a seven seed. They play like they don't
care what people think about the Clippers. Are their accolades,
are their trophy case? They play. It's a European mentality, right.
You can't tell Luca or poor as Inga as anything.
They don't. They can't guard him. So you know, I

(10:58):
forgot to tell Tim Hardaway Junior, he's not his dad.
I want to say the whole Yeah, did no one
could how do you solve that right now? They'll they'll
get it. They'll get it figured out. This is the
biggest this is my biggest issue. There's two things going
on with the with the Clippers hate. Okay, hey, no,

(11:20):
yes it is, Yes it is. There's a lot of
people in LA who know that they're a better team
than the Lakers, and they have a better shot, they
have a better shot of getting there than the Lakers. Okay,
that's but they're a better better they're a better team.
They're a better team. Okay, yes. And the other part
is people still thinking that this is their grandfather and
father's Lakers, and that's what people can't get over. He from.

(11:45):
That's what you go back to. Oh, there it is.
They lost the game. They're not gonna go to the finals.
People are talking about the Clippers. They're not that good.
They have Doc Rivers, they have another guy leading the team.
Who's who's been NBA NBA MVP in the finals twice,
who took a team that had never been able to

(12:06):
get over the hump to a championship. You mean last
year when they were down two Old and Yannis in Milwaukee.
Do you remember that Toronto was down two Olds, and
everybody was like, Oh, they're not they can't. What are
they gonna do? How are you gonna stop Yannis? How
are you gonna win two more game? How are you
gonna win four games? Do you know what they did?
They won four games in a row. So I've covered

(12:27):
the NBA since nineteen eighty seven. The new the thing
that neutralizes teams like Dallas is winning the four games. Yes,
you're gonna win one or two, you might even win three,
you gotta beat them four times. And that's why I
believe in the Clippers. That's why I believe in Doc Rivers.
That's why I believe in Kawhi Leonard. They have been there,

(12:51):
done that, That's what they needed. I watched that team
a year ago with no stars, take two games in
Oakland against Olden State, and then watch kd have to
score fifty three points to extinguish and put them out
of the playoffs in a game six in LA. I
love the Clippers up and down. They will be Dallas

(13:14):
and move on. Okay. So with all that said, and yes,
you made excellent points, the fact that the matter this,
this isn't a regular season. All things are have to
be considered right, guys are not for whatever reason. Teams
that we think are supposed to be that we're special

(13:35):
going into the lockdown, and in the stoppage of the
season they fumbled a little bit to try to get
gain their footing. And teams that that you know, weren't
doing so hot as all of a sudden have a resurgence.
There's something different going on. You have to take that
into account. It's all of that you said was perfect
in a perfect world. All that I was great, but

(13:57):
it's not the same. Now we've ever been here, we've
so I'm gonna stop you because I want you. So
you picked Dallas to start, and that was your pick
before the playoffs started, Dallas over them before. Yes, before
I said, okay, okay, that's fine. I look, I believe
you if you tell me I don't like the Clippers.

(14:18):
I'm a Laker guy. I get that. But what I
saw was that Dallas creates a serious problem for the Clippers.
Number One, they have a big So the Lakers have
no shot because they lost Game one, Right, they have
no shot. I didn't say that, No, I'm asking you.
You you saw what the Lakers, so they have no shot.
I can tell I don't want to get you right.

(14:40):
I got plenty to say, I got plenty to say
about them. Okay, all right, we will definitely do that,
all right? Should should the Clippers chunk up? Last night's loss?
Is just one game? Or did the Mavericks expose a
chink in their armor? We'll continue that conversation next eight
seven seven ninety nine five. We want to hear from
you eight seven seven nine nine six sixty three sixty nine,

(15:04):
and we'll continue that conversation. Yep, it's the Odd Couple.

I know it? You ready? Here we go. We finally
got our piece off the part fish, don't fry in

(15:46):
the kitchen, beat don't burn on the grill. Took a
whole lot of trying just to get up that hill
there we go up in the big leagues. Do not
turn that fat? Always live baby. Ain't nothing no with that?
Oh yeah, I am. I can't hear, but I love

(16:09):
it anyway. It is the eye couple of Fox Sports Radio. Yes, Uh,

eye couple of Rob Parker and I from salam In
for Chris Broussard and uh, we're talking about the Clippers
and they lost last night. It's a one one series
against Dallas and eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox

(16:53):
is the telephone number we want to hear from you? A.
Is it all over for the Clippers? Should they pack
up everything and get out of the bubble because they
have no shot to get to the NBA finals? As
he from thanks? Or was it just one game? Look?
They are putting words in my mouth, man. You know
what let's see what the people think. Okay, I love it.
Let's do what the nick in South Carolina. You're on

(17:14):
an odd couple, Fox Sports Radio. What you got, hey, guys, job.
I was hoping you keep the same energy for the
Clippers that you kept for the Lakers yesterday. Dude, it's
a totally different story. And let me tell you this.
Here's what you gotta understand. The Lakers have played poorly
the whole nine games in the bubble. They were the
best team in the West and they have two of

(17:35):
the three best players in the NBA. That performance against
Portland was awful. Well, I'll just I'll just say that
for the Clippers. Look, it's just one game. But but
here's the thing. Clippers fans always have the same excuse.
They always say, if they're healthy, they're gonna win. And
that's a big if you can't go off and you
can't have a team that hasn't Paul George shot four

(17:56):
for seventeen. Can can you acknowledge that? Yeah? Who's fun
is that? You know what? I'm just saying that, that's
not That's not why when your second star shoots four
for seventeen, good luck with winning the game. It's the
same thing with Anthony Davis and the Lakers. When is
he gonna show up in the fourth quarter. It's the
same thing, like you can't have one argument for one
team and and and exclude that argument for for the

(18:18):
other one. But wait a minute, we'll we'll get to
the Lakers because we'll keep we got going back, we
keep going. We're gonna get to the Lakers later on.
And of course they played U tonight. Is that nine
o'clock tonight Eastern? Right, yeah, they play tonight. We're gonna
be We're gonna be on when it when it's home.
So right, um, let's go to uh, Tony and DC.

(18:39):
You're on an odd couple Fox Sports Radio. What do
you got? So what's good? What's good? What's up? Tony?
Don't from no commercial? What like that? Ever? Again? Please
you almost speakers, you know you wan to sing? Come on,
Rob oh Man, man, it sounds good in this series

(19:06):
isn't over. But the Clippers better not played with this
team because the further the series goes along. And what
he said is, hey, we need to believe we can win.
He's not afraid of nobody on the Clippers. Okay, and
Paul George. You know, reputations are made in the playoffs.

(19:26):
Him and Ada wanted the seam with the reputations. Paul
George needs to step up and quick believe in Patrick
Beverley's the stopper on team. Somebody has to be like,
you know what, done tonight it stops. You're a good player,
but tonight it stops. So who's gonna step up for
the Clippers and Kawhi out and stop done on the

(19:47):
other end? Or we could be seeing an upset here
because these maps they're not afraid of the Clippers. And
that's the point. That's exactly what I was saying. You
guys are gonna go back. I can go well, well,
say there are two stars or European players. They don't

(20:10):
succumb to the same type of intimidation. They have a
whole different mentality. Luca came into the league like I'm
the best point guard in the league period, right. He
didn't cow down to anybody. He didn't feel a certain
type of way. Porzingis has been a ball to what
I'm saying is when you go up against arguably one

(20:32):
of the best teams in the league and you realize, look,
we should have won that first game, the refs got
in our way, all right, and now we dominated the
second game, led from start to finish. That's a different mindset.
So now the mindset is him, let's try to get
a game. It's we need to finish these dudes off.
And that's dangerous. That's what me and Tony are talking about.

(20:55):
You feel me, Rob, Come on, No, I can't. I
just I just can't. I just I just think it's
an overreaction to one game. And I don't look at
it that way. I look at it like the Clippers
are going to lose a couple of games in this
series and it doesn't matter that that's I if I
thought they were so much better they were going to
sweep them and there was no contest, then maybe I

(21:17):
would buy into your argument. But I don't expect the
Clippers to win. Uh. They didn't. They weren't the best
team in the West. Uh. They've had clunkers. But they're
a good team in a in a long series. They are.
They are a good team. Uh, Joseph in Virginia, you're
on the odd couple, Fox Sports Radio, what you got
stop it. This is the time we've seen the Clippers

(21:40):
with teams like this. Okay, we've seen him with Corey mcgetti,
lamar Odom Patino Mobile, Elton Brands. They've heard these little
sticks Live City. They've had these little sticks where they've
tried to capitalize on making highlight. And that image of
Palm George with that ice patch on his shoulder is
the playoff peak. There is nobody the Clippers. Even if

(22:04):
they make it out of this series, they're going to
have to meet Denver, and I think that's where it stops.
Denver can beat them in four games. They have too
many young dude stops that's going to run them out
of the gym. Patrick Beverley has a bum leg. Kawhi
Leonard has been playing how don't know how many consistent games.
He's gonna need a break soon. Oh yeah, he really

(22:26):
looked like he needed a break last night. I mean, man,
he should sit down somewhere and rest his side. Well,
he rests all year, That's what he does. That's his thing.
Right do you play You can't play back to backs?
Just what they don't play back to backs during the
playoffs and you get to go. I get it. I
understand that. That's how he's won two finals MVPs. I'm
not knocking Kawhi Leonard. Kawhi Leonard is a San Diego

(22:47):
State Aztec. All right, that's the best part of the Clippers.
We all know that. I'm not y'all salty Lakers. You
know what planters online too, that's for you clanters on
you know what. I'm from Sacramento. So let's see what
Mark and Sacramento got to say. You're on the odd couple, Man,
Fox Sports Radio, what you got? What's going on? Even

(23:08):
from Man's you hear what's happening, But what's going on? Rob?
They had teacher, Yeah, a substitute teacher yesterday told me
I called a kiss Rob's ass. So I'm glad you're here.
I'm insting about me obviously, but uh, I see it
this way, Rob, I was telling you and Chris we
talked about this all year. What street fight with the

(23:29):
Lakers or the Clippers get into before they played each other?
Looks like to me, both of them on the verge
getting into a street fight. And I don't and I
don't think. I don't think the Clippers are in sync
yet they only played eleven games. Now they don't have
Patrick Beverley. They're still trying to find it. I kept hearing,
wait till they get to the playoffs. Wait till they
get to the playoffs. Guess what, we're here, they better

(23:51):
find They were the second seed in the West and
you're saying they need to find No. No, seriously helped
me out. You know, you're saying like they're trying to
find it. How were they the second seed in the
West without having all their players all year and last
year what they did with no stars against against the Warriors? No,

(24:14):
because because that's the that's that's the the Lakers were
the last year. Yeah, because they sucked. I mean, they
were terrible. So we can't keep bringing up last year. No,
you can because a lot of those guys are a
lot of those guys are still there that team. Yes,
it does. That stuff helps, all right? Do the Clippers
really have chemistry problems? NBA dot Com scribe Sean Powell

(24:39):

We now welcome in our guests, mister Sean Powell from
NBA dot Com. Uh, Sean and I go way way

(25:24):
back when covering the NBA's he from since the eighties,
and Sean is one of the best in the business.
What's happening to Well? First of all, I don't go
back that fa Rob. I remember you in Dallas and
in Miami in the eighties. What are you talking about?
Remember that right? He was out in high school. Man,

(25:45):
get on one out of here doing great. NBA playoffs
are underway, love it, and Uh, let's talk about let's
jump out first the Lakers in the Portland series. Let's
talk about that first. That's the big game tonight. Obviously
people want to see the Lakers are really struggled in
the bubble in those nine games. Sean, Well, is there

(26:09):
an issue? Is there a reason for concern or or
can they get this rioting. I think both. I think
there's a reason for concern because the last time the
Lakers really played a meaningful game in which they won
that was back in early March when they beat the
Clippers and the Bucks back to back. That seems like

(26:30):
years ago now. The other thing is that they just
can't make three point shots. If you have a team
with Lebron James Nancy Davis, the teammates are going to
get a lot of open loads, and if you can't
knock down those open looks, then that's the problem because
in one of those games, or a couple of those games,
either Anthony Davis or Lebron James or both, they're gonna
have an off night shooting the ball, and then you

(26:51):
know you're gonna pay. But I would say this, you
still have two of the best to top five players
in basketball. I do think Portland is not your typical
eight seeds, But when you're bringing that kind of heat
with Lebron and Anthony Davis, you would think that that's
going to give you an advantage against most teams, even

(27:13):
some of the contenders, and over a seven game series,
you're you know, you're trying to beat them four times.
That's a lot when you really consider it. So I
think they're in trouble with they help start knocking down
some of these shots. But at the same time, when
you have those two players, you know, they can erase
a lot of mistakes. And you know the thing with
that roster, they got a couple pieces that they really

(27:35):
didn't have during the year. So we saw in these
you know, the eight playing games, the seeding games, them
trying to figure out these rotations. This vote Frank Vogel
watching that rotation, watching guys not play, guys who came
in and got buckets. Do you think that rotation is
going to change in the second game? Yeah, I think

(27:57):
you'll see Dion Waiters. I think you'll DJR Smith. Now, again,
those are two guys that nobody wanted, so keep that
in mind. I mean, I'm not trying to disparage him
as players or anything like that, but the whole league
had a chance to sign both those guys, and everybody's
all twenty nine other teams took a pass. So usually

(28:17):
in the playoffs, guys like that at this stage in
their careers, they wouldn't see the light of day, particularly
like in the fourth quarter. But in this situation, the
Lakers not having Avery Bradley, who was a very good
defender and their second best three point shooter. Avery Bradley
opted out from the bubble because for family reasons. Now

(28:40):
you've got to try other options. And you know, I mean,
I mean, look at this point, you know, if you're
the Lakers, you have to throw players out there and
see what happens. At least JR. Reid as a veteran,
he's been there before. You know, you know, say what
jokes you want to make about him, you know, forgetting
to score and everything when he was with Cleveland Lebron. Still,

(29:02):
he's been in some you know, big games, some big
moments and hit some tough shots. So we'll see what
he can do tonight. Our guest is Sean Powell, NBA
dot Com columnus joining us here on the odd couple.
Tell me about Houston, and you know when Westbrook got hurt,
people were right away, oh, okay, see he's going to

(29:22):
Uh they might win this series. It was all that
talk about Houston and all they've done is cruise for
the most part in the first two games. Uh, can
they make a long run. You know, Jeff dan Gundhi
said something on TV today, He said, if he was
gonna play defense like that, then you have to consider
them a title favorite. Um, I would probably say that's correct.

(29:45):
You know with Houstmitth' has always been trying to prevent
the other team from scoring as much as Houston can score.
So yeah, I mean they've got some They've got some
guys on that team who are just hungry, guys like
Ben McLemore, who's career was in the toilet and then
all of a sudden he came in Houston and he's
been a terrific three point shooter. I mean, you know,

(30:06):
Jeff Green, you know, guys like that, Robert Covington. Again,
these are guys that are role players, and some of
them are you know, deep in their career and never
really found at home. But with Houston, and you've got
to and you're on a team at James Harden, who's
going to attract a lot of attention and everything, and
who's a good pastor, same as Russell Westbrook. These guys
are going to find open shots. And as long as

(30:28):
these guys knocked down open shots and played good defense,
you know, that's going to be a Contuston the other
thing about Houstons, they're playing small ball. You know, PJ.
Tucker is really the only player in that team, you know,
who has the presence in the paint, and he's giving
up what four or five inches on you know, other
centers from other teams. But on the other hand, you've
got to match up against Houston on the other end.

(30:50):
So if you have a center out there, you know,
he's got to come out to the corner where PJ.
Tucker is sitting, or goes to someplace else, and that
opens up the fool for James Hardy. Let's talk about
I want to talk about the Miami Heat. When you
look at this team and what they bring to the bubble,
this was a team was fifth in the East and

(31:12):
they were fifteen to twenty two away from home struggled.
When you take that aspect out, when you take the
opponent's home court advantage out, and you're in this kind
of AAU style format, it seems like the Heat are
playing a little bit freer, more confident. How far can
they go if they continue to dominate the Pacers. Well,

(31:36):
I kind of thought that they would probably take advantage
of Pacers, because you know, the Pacers don't have the
bonus hurt not going to be in the playoffs, and
Victor Oladipo just seems to be, you know, not one.
So I didn't think the Pacers going to be a problem.
I think the big test was going to be the
next round or they'll have to see Boston or Milwaukee.

(31:59):
Now that's going to be a test. But if we're
just talking about Miami Heat and you know, in the present,
I mean, like today, they get a fantastic game from
Duncan Robinson. You know, they've gotten some pretty decent output
from Tyler Hero, Bam out of Baio, Derek Jones Junior.
I mean, they've got got a strange team. They've got

(32:21):
some young players who weren't big time stars in college,
like Robinson, the even Tyler Hero although he went to
a big school, and same with bam Audebaio, and they've
come in and been better than what they were projected
to be and that's been a big help. Then you're
throwing under Ugadala, guy who's been a championship setting and

(32:41):
of course we haven't even started talking about Jimmy Butler,
who's got some you know some pit bull with him,
so I think Miami is scrappy. I just don't know,
number one, if they have a true, true superstar, which
you need in the postseason, let alone two of them,
and I just don't know how they would fare against
a D team like box to Walk in the next round. Hey, Sean,

(33:02):
we gotta run real quick. Who wins Lakers or Portland tonight?
Just quick. I'm gonna say the Lakers even up that series,
but I got to Portland down for at least another game.
I think it'll go fix. Okay, all right, his name
Sean Powell from NBA dot Com. He's a columnist there.
Thanks for the insight, buddy. We appreciate you. Thanks guys.

stink Today. Of course it's a Thursday TV theme song Thursday,
but also every Thursday, my Baseball podcast drops inside the
Parker and here we give you a little preview in
case you didn't get to hear it. Here's getting robbed
to lead off, It's getting robbed to keep him on,

(34:51):
Robs hot take, and the three biggest stories in Major
League Baseball Number one baseball and it's unwritten rules. I
know the Fernando Tattoos junior situation is on everybody's mind.
We're gonna talk with the former major league third baseman

(35:12):
Charlie Hayes about that situation. But let me go over
some of the unwritten rules and I wonder if you
even know some of them, you agree with some of them.
There's all kinds of stuff out there. The one that
I do buy into is you don't bunt during a
no hither, especially like in the ninth inning, if the

(35:33):
game is basically out of reach, you should have to
hit to get your way on. I do believe in that.
There are other ones like never make the first or
third out at third base. Have you heard about that.
That's another one that's out there. The center fielder gets
the ball, you know, he's supposed to have free reign

(35:58):
out there. He's supposed to be able to grab everything
that with this in his reach. All of the talk
about you don't swing at the first pitch from a
pitcher who has allowed back to back home run. So
if you're the third battle, you're not supposed to do it.
There's all these different things that are out there and

(36:21):
people some people agree with, some people don't. You don't
steal bases if you're up by a large margin, so
that's another one. You don't show up the picture, you
don't show up the fielders. These are all the ones
that people are out there as far as unwritten rules
in baseball, baseball has changed. Newer players have come in.

(36:45):
We've seen different things happen. I don't buy into all
the unwritten rules, but a couple of them I do.
Number two, this will be very interesting in Cleveland. There
is a riff. I'm mutant. Players aren't sure if they
want to invite back the pitchers Clevenger and Police Sect

(37:06):
back to the team. Two of their best pitchers in
the best rotation in baseball. That's what the Cleveland Indians have.
Those two guys have been demoted. The teammates are now
not sure if they want them back because those guys
breaking the trust with their teammates and going out on

(37:27):
the town in Chicago and bringing it back to the clubhouse,
especially with COVID nineteen out there, this will be very
very interesting. I don't believe the Indians are gonna trade
these guys or get rid of them. If the Indians
have a chance to try to win, they're going to
need both of these guys. These guys have to man up,

(37:47):
own up to what they did, beg for forgiveness from
their teammates so that their teammates can once again trust
them and they can rejoin the team. I expect them
back on the team. But it'll take a little time
for players to feel better about these two. Number three.
As a Wednesday, the Los Angeles Dodgers had the best

(38:10):
record in baseball. Yes, the Dodgers had won seven games
in a row, finally got hot, finally after a bumpy start.
And here's the other thing. At eighteen and seven, they're
off till their best twenty five games start since nineteen
eighty three. And don't look now, but the Dodgers have

(38:33):
a chance of making it to the World Series again,
which would be the third time in four years, which
is nothing to pooh pooh. Yes, but the Dodgers still,
it's not about the regular season. We know this team
is loaded. They have so many good players, such a
great line up. The addition of Mookie Bets only made
them stronger. But for the Dodgers, it's about winning the

(38:54):
World Series. I hate to break it to you. They
can win all the games, they could have the best
record in the league league, they could win the division
again in the NLS. They could get to the World
Series again, and none of it will matter unless they
win the World Series. It's World Series victory or bus
for the Dodgers. In twenty twenty our number two of

(39:17):
the odd couple coming up right here on Fox Sports Radio,
