But I guess your your your thoughts now that at
winning the NBA Championship, is that where you're going?

They're three peating, Okay, they're three pting. Good, Bron's gonna
play extra couple of years there. I wanted to be
just like the three peat that the Chiefs just had.
Three No, it was great to see Luca added to
what they've been doing the last several games. Anyway, because
Lebron had been on a game they still were winning.
Austin Reeves has been on a tear lately, so it

was good to see, all right, how's Luca gonna fit
in this thing? Obviously, they won and they picked a
great opponent in the Jats to kind of get things going,
get some fluidity.

But they're playing well right now, even before Luca. They're
nine to one of their last ten games, which is crazy.
Now they sit at fourth in the West. They're, ah,
what a game and a half behind Denver at for third.
They've been playing well defensively, one of the top ranked
defensive teams in the last twelve games. Offensively with efficiency

top twelve top teams in the last twelve games as well.
Lebron has been on the tear. They asked JJ Reddick
last night, you know, at what's happened with Lebron. It
seems like he's been playing like a next level and
they and JJ says, I had to talk to him
after the blowout in Portland, and that's all. It's all
I have to say about that. So whatever that conversation was,
I don't know what it was.

So my thing about it, rob is while they're playing great,
it's also a look at the West and outside of OKC,
which is just dominating the West at forty three to nine,
it becomes Grizzlies, who are second right now in the West.
They don't necessarily scare me if I'm the Lakers. I mean,
they just beat him recently. I don't even think Lebron
was playing that game. The nugget are the Nuggets. That's

the worry with Jokis. But outside from that, I go
to rockets below the Lakers, they don't necessarily scare me
from the Lakers now that I have Luca. Clippers don't
scare me. Timberwolves don't scare me. Mavericks don't scare me.
Because especially with Ad being hurt. So part of this
optimism isn't just simply them. It's also Rob looking at
the West saying outside of Oka, see, there's no team
if I'm the Lakers that say we can't beat and

I think that's a good feeling as they try to
find their way their mess and find a way to be,
you know, cohesive with Luca moving forward. So that's a
two man tandem that's scary. Rob, those two in the
offensives in a series of me seven game series, Lebron
and Luca, that's a scary tannem with the ball in
hand because they can create for themselves.

just part of the Newman nature and this journey in
the NBA business and the NBA lifestyle, and also just
the connectivity engagement we have with the fans.

maybe there's some frustration parts and things. But when you're

you find a way to make it work. Like Doctor
busted when Kobe wanted to get traded, Right, I mean,
we're talking about the best player in the history of
your franchise outside of Dirk probably right, Like he's seven
years in, he's got you to the finals. What six
months ago, by the way, two years prior to that,
he got that team that didn't have any help to

I don't know. Like to me, I just yeah, it
made me think, what do we don't know? But you
have to take the shot a few of the Lakers

in the picture and a contender, which I think they

is a dog, Vandos a dog, gave Vincent all of
a sudden healthy and the guy's so confident. I was
at the game last night. I happened to be down

about once a month, and I couldn't believe how good
he looked. It started to like I'm kind of with
Kelvin now where I'm like, man, that's not Okay City.
It's wide open. But I do think Rob makes a
good point with like Denver, Okay, we got to do
it against them because that's been our nemesis the last
two years that we haven't been able to get by.
So I'd like to see us beat them before I
start beating my chest and saying we're the champs. But

I mean obviously for this team to go, and they

you can't do it. You have to think longer game.

little rusty and placed since Christmas, which is fine. What
was he one for six or seven? Seven from the
three point line? Fourteen points? It was, you know, it
was fine. He looked good. It was a blowout at
a nice easy opponent in Utah, a really bad team.

But I guess your your your thoughts now that at
winning the NBA Championship, is that where you're going?
Speaker 3 (00:55):
They're three peating, Okay, they're three pting. Good, Bron's gonna
play extra couple of years there. I wanted to be
just like the three peat that the Chiefs just had.
Three No, it was great to see Luca added to
what they've been doing the last several games. Anyway, because
Lebron had been on a game they still were winning.
Austin Reeves has been on a tear lately, so it

was good to see, all right, how's Luca gonna fit
in this thing? Obviously, they won and they picked a
great opponent in the Jats to kind of get things going,
get some fluidity.
Speaker 4 (01:23):
Man.

But they're playing well right now, even before Luca. They're
nine to one of their last ten games, which is crazy.
Now they sit at fourth in the West. They're, ah,
what a game and a half behind Denver at for third.
They've been playing well defensively, one of the top ranked
defensive teams in the last twelve games. Offensively with efficiency

top twelve top teams in the last twelve games as well.
Lebron has been on the tear. They asked JJ Reddick
last night, you know, at what's happened with Lebron. It
seems like he's been playing like a next level and
they and JJ says, I had to talk to him
after the blowout in Portland, and that's all. It's all
I have to say about that. So whatever that conversation was,
I don't know what it was.

JJ's trying to take credit that he motivated Lebron after
twenty years.

Addition to Luca Man, it sparks something I think you're
gonna get for right now at least and hopefully, you know,
the injury stays away from the Lebron because that's really
the main key.

Offensively, I like what you're getting from them with some
of the pieces gave Vincent finally coming around.

Somebody they got from Miami can play Pinney Smith.

He is playing well defensively, shoe the ball exactly what
you hope for.

Ruey is playing well.

So my thing about it, rob is while they're playing great,
it's also a look at the West and outside of OKC,
which is just dominating the West at forty three to nine,
it becomes Grizzlies, who are second right now in the West.
They don't necessarily scare me if I'm the Lakers. I mean,
they just beat him recently. I don't even think Lebron
was playing that game. The nugget are the Nuggets. That's
(03:01):
the worry with Jokis. But outside from that, I go
to rockets below the Lakers, they don't necessarily scare me
from the Lakers now that I have Luca. Clippers don't
scare me. Timberwolves don't scare me. Mavericks don't scare me.
Because especially with Ad being hurt. So part of this
optimism isn't just simply them. It's also Rob looking at
the West saying outside of Oka, see, there's no team
if I'm the Lakers that say we can't beat and

I think that's a good feeling as they try to
find their way their mess and find a way to be,
you know, cohesive with Luca moving forward. So that's a
two man tandem that's scary. Rob, those two in the
offensives in a series of me seven game series, Lebron
and Luca, that's a scary tannem with the ball in
hand because they can create for themselves.

Just making the I got a new toy and it's

If Luca and Lebron are that's scary. Are they gonna

picked up the Mavericks and what happened And then you.

Say, oh, well, you know it depends on the injury Yeah,
Lebron is injury prone. He's forty years old. Yes, he
can do it for a stretch, but can he do
it back to back? Can he do it as much
as they need him?

And that's been the same exact thing.

Luca has been hurt a lot. Luca has missed time.
That's the issue with him. And so that's why I wait.

one of the top three best players in that I

top whatever. You want to him play any defense, that's
not one of the players.

they were with Anthony Davis, who could protect the rim
and do some other stuff with his size. Luca is
not a good defender, and neither is Lebron. And they
could score all the points they want, but teams will
be able to score against them.

and Larry Bird and Kobe the greats. They all maintained

he is just finding a way to keep talking about Luca.

but it's just like I felt away when I was

the nets and he got traded. I was mad at
J Kid for a while as a young fan, you

just part of the Newman nature and this journey in
the NBA business and the NBA lifestyle, and also just
the connectivity engagement we have with the fans.

And my first thought, you guys don't understand this was,

then I'm like, there's so I so I often I

ain't real. He got hacked. Literally five minutes later, phone's
blown up. Everyone's like, it's real. I just couldn't believe

I think I was up for the next two three
hours just talking to everyone and reading everything I could,
and I just couldn't believe it. Guys. It was. It
was different than anything that I feel like I've ever
been a part of here, you know, just when Shack
came to LA was different. As Free Agency, you know,
ad Trade, we kind of knew was going to happen
at some point. This one was out of the blue,
out of nowhere, shocked the NBA world and nobody knew
about it. That to me is the craziest part.

I think that's totally fair. I've just been for the

about once a month, and I couldn't believe how good
he looked. It started to like I'm kind of with

two years that we haven't been able to get by.
So I'd like to see us beat them before I
start beating my chest and saying we're the champs. But

I mean obviously for this team to go, and they
got to ease him back. Man, you can't. You know,
