Speaker 3 (02:47):
My partner he is Calvin, Calvin Washington.

Speaker 5 (02:51):
Man.

Speaker 4 (02:51):
We had some wild finishes in the NBA. So why
I mean stuff. You never see game winning buzzard tip
back dunks.

Speaker 1 (03:00):
I've seen it with the Clippers, unfortunately. That's yeah, yeah,
what I'm saying. Eighton did it?

Speaker 3 (03:06):
Oh yeah yeah at the point on an inbound.

Speaker 4 (03:11):
Piston's game with Pistons Nicks is probably the most fun
series that you had. A crazy, wild finished there, wild
finished with the Lakers. I mean it was a wild
weekend with the NBA when it comes to finishing games.
And obviously we gotta get to the draft as well.
So yeah, a lot to get to on a Monday,
and usually sometimes to be slow.

Speaker 3 (03:28):
Not today, not today, plenty of stuff.

Speaker 1 (03:30):
All right, let's welcome into the Odd Couple crew, because
we wouldn't be able to do this fine radio program
without him. Of course, Alex is our engineer. Yep, Justin
is our producer, Rob g. Yeah, he's still on the show.
But a few more days did he leave or no?

Speaker 3 (03:50):
Well you better come back looking like thor all this time.

Speaker 4 (03:53):
He better be come back looking like a Honis Giannis
any other Honest.

Speaker 3 (03:58):
I'm not buying that. I think he'll be a little
puffy around them like they all this time off.

Speaker 4 (04:05):
Look, I have kids, they go to sleep at some
point and he can just on a treadmill.

Speaker 3 (04:10):
What was that noise? No, that's what got him, the kids, Rob,
That's what got him, all the kids.

Speaker 1 (04:14):
I want to make sure, uh, mister Steve de Seger's
at the anchor day, Steve, he'll keep us updated throughout.

Speaker 3 (04:20):
The program, that's right. And never, of course, I've never
heard of Eliza our social media. Yes, it's getting so
bad at starting to think he never heard of Steve.

Speaker 4 (04:30):
Like he's saying, he's hitting it right there, and he's like,
Steven is getting so close.

Speaker 3 (04:34):
I literally never dropped, says hey Steve, Steve.

Speaker 4 (04:36):
No, I know that, but it's getting close and doing
up there. Steve never heard of him?

Speaker 3 (04:40):
Yes?

Speaker 1 (04:41):
Uh so, yes, so much to do, so little time
on this Magic City Monday And Alex.

Speaker 3 (04:46):
Did you get the picture? That is amazing? Isn't that great? Yeah?
We've heard his voice for seven years. It doesn't match. No,
they never match.

Speaker 1 (04:56):
Do you remember Sean when we first when I first
met Sean, all of us here we swore Sean was black. Serious,
he's Filipino. Wait wait wait, Sean Sacramento is not black.
He's Filipino.

Speaker 6 (05:09):
Yo.

Speaker 3 (05:10):
That guy. I'm so glad.

Speaker 4 (05:13):
I'm about to keep my job for six years with
you because I had so many jokes locked and loaded.

Speaker 3 (05:17):
They were locked and loaded. That's serious. Remember that one.
I shall do well.

Speaker 4 (05:24):
You posted a picture of him, but it was a
brother as well, so I thought it was No Sean
was next to me. It was three of you in
the picture, so I assumed there was the brother, No
Sean sitting right next to me.

Speaker 3 (05:35):
Yes, that's Sean.

Speaker 4 (05:37):
So he was adopted by a black family. I don't
care what he tells me. He has a black wife.

Speaker 3 (05:41):
You ain't got to tell me. I believe it, right,
But I'll tell you what a what a great time,
great venue. It was awesome. It really was. All right,
let's go here.

Speaker 1 (05:50):
We're gonna get to Shador and the NFL Draft, but
we gotta get to the NBA first and the Lakers
who are on the brink now, you know, down three
to one, they lose on Sunday, close game, but they
don't get it done. And just your first thoughts and
then I'll get into what I want to.

Speaker 4 (06:09):
Well, I mean, shoot, there's a lot of thoughts that
I have. The thing that's disappointing, you know, you want
to kind of say, what's the blame to me? It's
like a buffet rob think about when Big Mama and
make her best meals.

Speaker 1 (06:20):
I know what I'm eating when the time comes and
it's time for me to make my play.

Speaker 4 (06:24):
Yeah, you know what it is. And so there's a
few people can come get some of this buffet real quick.
First and foremost, I'm gonna start with JJ. JJ was
treating this like an AAU game on the weekend. And
I'm referring to the fact that the first team in
the NBA playoff history, it's the first time a team
has ever played the same five players for a whole half.

(06:45):
Referring to that second half. Mind you, one of the
players is forty something years old. Mind you, the other
player was just coming off some type of illness where
he said, I literally had to sleep all day the
night before, I had to sleep the entire day to
get better. So those are the two guys are playing
these forty six minutes. But those are your superstars. You
kind of don't have a choice in the sense that

(07:05):
they have to play. But to me, what he didn't
do was allowed for those magical moments. If I brought
up to you Matthew Delavandova. You would say, well, who
was that prior to those finals in twenty fifteen, when
he finally was getting in a game, chasing around Steph,
hacking Steph, pulling Steph jersey and at least making it
hard on Steph. They would ultimately lose a series, but
Matthew Mcdelovdova made a name.

Speaker 3 (07:26):
For himself because of that.

Speaker 4 (07:27):
Tyron Lou you never heard of him too, was chasing
around Allen Iverson, pulling on Alan Iverson, making it hard
on Allan Iverson. Alan Iverson still got points. But then
you go, oh, I remember that game when Tyron Lou
had a moment. My point is this could have been
a gay. Vincent comes in the second half, only plays
eight minutes, but hit two or three huge threes. This
is when Vanderbilt everybody was saying, man at van Dolt

(07:49):
was better healthy last postseason, they'd have been all right,
well he's healthy.

Speaker 3 (07:53):
You telling me Vanderbilt could have.

Speaker 4 (07:54):
Run around and just hacked, push around, shove me, muck
up the game a little bit on Anthony Edwards, who
drops forty three in your head? So missed opportunities to
have some role players have a moment in that second
half there, So I was disappointed see that. Jackson Hayes,
even if he's just in the game, being six eleven
seven foot, he could have gave you three or four minutes.

Speaker 3 (08:12):
You needed that, and that's part of that as well.

Speaker 4 (08:15):
Also Rob Polenka bruh, I know you got Luca, but
you ain't got nothing else, because if this is what
it is, go ahead put him out their misery, meaning
if you can't find a way to have something else
keeping up off that bend you signed Land, he doesn't play,
you got Jackson Hayes went from getting some favorable minutes
not playing at all. And Mark Williams, who you has signed,

(08:38):
then you were scind it the trade because he wasn't
healthy well. He played two thirds of the rest of
the season, averaging about twenty five thirty minutes a game
for the Hornet, so he could have been helpful for
the Lakers. And lastly, Luke and Lebron too. I know
you guys are tired. Lebron, you're old. Luke, you're not
for them. Y'all got to close it up. You can't
go on the fourth quarter up what was it ten
and find a way to lose his game, especially coming

(08:58):
off Game three that you were in control of and
last point Rob.

Speaker 3 (09:02):
They played sixteen quarters.

Speaker 4 (09:04):
Now the Lakers are probably played better ten to eleven
of those sixteen. They just haven't played better at the
crucial moments they're in lies, being three and one.

Speaker 1 (09:14):
I'm not blaming Luca. I'm not blaming Lebron. Oh to wait,
just you heard what I said going with this mic,
I'm telling you, okay, because I don't know what I
am blaming JJ Reddick from top to bottom. Okay, this
is coaching when your start playing Lebron gets no.

Speaker 3 (09:32):
Points and you give up a lead.

Speaker 1 (09:35):
In the fourth quarter because these guys have played all
these minutes. You already mentioned it. He's supposed to be
the genius. We can't rape to get rid of Darvin Ham.
Guess what, Darvin Ham when they went to the Western
Conference final, what were they sixth seed? They want a
three seed. They didn't get knocked out in the first round,
and that's what the Lakers are on the brink. He

(09:57):
did not there's a reason they're ups in basketball. You
play basketball.

Speaker 3 (10:01):
There's a reason.

Speaker 1 (10:02):
There's a reason that everybody doesn't have five just five play.

Speaker 3 (10:06):
We just need our best five.

Speaker 1 (10:07):
There's a reason for that, and no coach had done
this since nineteen ninety seven. He left hisself open for criticism,
and rightfully so.

Speaker 3 (10:22):
JJ Reddick is the poison.

Speaker 1 (10:27):
He is the reason the Lakers are where they are.

Speaker 3 (10:31):
You can't do it to a forty year old.

Speaker 1 (10:34):
It's nice for Lebron to cover for him and say, oh,
nothing to do with fatigue. Really really, and Luca we
talk about all the time, coming off of illness twenty
five with a thirty five year old body. Really, that's
the guy you want playing the entire second half.

Speaker 3 (10:55):
Come on, man, no way, no how and all you.

Speaker 1 (11:00):
You guys wanted to crown jj Reddick and give them credit.

Speaker 3 (11:04):
Oh my god, what are different between you?

Speaker 1 (11:06):
Oh you can see what you have a coach, really
and you talked about it then been able to close
out the games.

Speaker 3 (11:13):
That's coaching.

Speaker 4 (11:15):
That's the bad part too, is that for me? For
me looking at it, the Lakers had the opportunity to
be up. They could be up three to one, right,
you close out game three, you close out Game four,
you were up. And like I said, they've played they've
out played Minnesota two thirds, maybe three quarters of the
quarters and the you know, most of these games, most
it's just the the Timberwolves will find the perfect spurt

(11:35):
to find a perfect quarter and end up winning a
game or stealing a game. And I want to give
some credit to the Minnesota Timberwars in this regard. When
we made our preseason picks, who's gonna do what in
the NBA Finals blah blah blah, I had Timberwolves Celtics,
And of course I'm looking at the Timberwolves like, oh
my god. All season long, they're underachieving the last twenty
so games of the season. Now rolling in the playoffs,

(11:57):
they're starting to be what you kind of hope they
would be coming off of last season. Julius Rando is
looking good in this series, and Edwards is looking like,
I know, you don't want to be the face of
the league. Keep playing like this, keep talking smack, keep
being showing the antics and being fun and enjoyable. You're
gon mess around to be the face of the league.
And Edwards and so the Timberwolves are finally starting to

(12:17):
get to where they should have been and playing much better.
But again, Lakers, you can't lose these two games. Luca
Lebron if I told you the scenarios in which they're
up ten, they're up in this going the fourth quarter.
Those are the two guys you say good. If they
have the ball in their hands, they're gonna make the
right read, the right decision, and something good's gonna happen.
They can't find a way to lose this. But again,

(12:38):
JJ I said it before Rob Throughout history of the
NBA playoffs, there's always a role guy that has a
magical night. Steve Kerr hits the big shots. Stam cansewhen
he was a rookie with the Rockets have a big
night like this happens, Robert Dory hitting big shots. You
gotta allow for those magical moments. And if Gabe Vinson
gets a few minutes here there, maybe he hits a

(12:59):
couple of three.

Speaker 1 (13:00):
Maybe if you rest your guys, they could close out
the game.

Speaker 4 (13:03):
Or that's what I Yeah, I'm even saying just for
the other guy, because if Vanderbilt comes in, he MUCKs
up the game and holds Anthony Edwards at thirty seven
forty three, you could win.

Speaker 1 (13:12):
So that's the other issue, you know that, Like, like
Anthony Davis said it, the Lakers need a senate to
win a championship.

Speaker 3 (13:19):
They do well. I mean, yeah, it's so easy, are you?
I mean seriously?

Speaker 1 (13:24):
And it might hit fifty tomorrow here and then is
it tomorrow Wednesday?

Speaker 3 (13:28):
Wednesday? Win have fifty? All right? Eight seven seven ninety
nine On.

Speaker 1 (13:32):
Fox, We are playing the game, the blame game on
a Magic City Monday.

Speaker 3 (13:37):
Who are you blaming? Is it? Lebron? No points in
the fourth quarter?

Speaker 1 (13:42):
Me, that's right, passing the ball off to Austin Reids
for the three?

Speaker 3 (13:47):
Lebron you take that.

Speaker 6 (13:49):
You guys want me to turn my brain off because
I'm gonna have a huge basketball IQ.

Speaker 3 (13:53):
Yes, turn it off.

Speaker 4 (13:54):
That's actually perfect time, is it? JJ Reddick, don't forget
Throw Rob Link up in there, Rob Polinka loyal because
its the best. It's the best you got for me
on the bench?

Speaker 5 (14:07):
Or is it?

Speaker 3 (14:08):
Luca?

Speaker 1 (14:09):
I mean, where where is it? He can't stop a
waterfowl of falsett I mean seriously, but we knew that
coming inway, I'm just saying. And now they get knocked
out in the first round. Nico Harrison might get a
new contract in Dallas.

Speaker 3 (14:21):
Go ahead and laugh.

Speaker 1 (14:23):
Eight seven seven ninety nine On Fox, Who are you blaming.
I'm blaming JJ Reddick, the worst coach in the in
the NBA playoffs as we speak. You heard me right,
He's the worst coach coaching right now in the NBA Playoffs.
His name is JJ Reddick. He's the blame why the
Lakers are down three to one. It is the Couple

(14:46):
on a Magic City Monday, Rob Parker Kelvin Washington right
here on Fox Sports Radio, Stick and stay.

Speaker 3 (14:53):
You already know whose fault it is in the us
of A.

Speaker 1 (14:57):
Could be Genie busting jaymore from everyone, No, it's Jay Jay.

Speaker 2 (15:03):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Odd Couple
with Rob Parker and kelvin Washington weekdays at seven pm
Eastern four pm Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the
iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 4 (15:16):
Fox Sports Radio The Odd Cup of Robin Kevin on

like mobile tire installation.

Speaker 3 (15:32):
Tireraq dot com. It is the way tire buying should be.

Speaker 4 (15:36):
Rob and I talking about the Lakers loss, or should
I say the Minnesota Timberwolves win. Gotta give them some respect,
put some respect on their name.

Speaker 3 (15:43):
I'm not doing that. I'm on name.

Speaker 4 (15:45):
JJ ready to blame. Rob says for me, it's a
black grandma's kitchen. It's a buffet of smargsburg. Everybody can
get a little bit of this. Uh check on my
name for real?

Speaker 3 (15:54):
Who you got a seven seven ninety nine on Fox?
Who we got? Let's start Andre in Massachusetts.

Speaker 1 (15:58):
I knew you'd want to get in your Oh yeah,
a couple of Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 3 (16:01):
What's up? Dray?

Speaker 7 (16:03):
Hey, hey doing thanks for taking a call.

Speaker 8 (16:05):
Listen for me.

Speaker 7 (16:06):
I'm gonna be straight ahead. You win as a team,
you lose as a team. So I don't have it
going to anybody specifically, and I specifically. I actually appreciating
the plot. JJ Reddick shortening that lineup.

Speaker 1 (16:16):
Oh please stop it. Andre, I'm not doing that today.
Stop it. You got tired old players Lebron You thought
that worked for him?

Speaker 3 (16:25):
Did that work?

Speaker 7 (16:27):
Different strokes for different strokes for different folks. People want
to criticize my main man, Tom Thibodeaux for having a
short rotation. Pat Riley said, you play eight, you trust seven,
you play six, so when it comes down, no.

Speaker 1 (16:39):
He played five, including a forty year old and a
twenty five year old looks like he's thirty five.

Speaker 3 (16:45):
I'm doing a look collection Rob so.

Speaker 8 (16:47):
And so again.

Speaker 7 (16:48):
For me, the reason I see JJ Reddick telling his dogs,
his alpha male saying, go out there and win it now, Rob,
it didn't work, so he can take some of this heat.
You can. You can do the itching butt things maybe
gave vichin maybe so on and fourth, but I specifically
I say put strength against strength and go ahead and
see what happens.

Speaker 3 (17:06):
But that didn't work out. I'm sorry.

Speaker 1 (17:07):
They're not supposed to get Dred knocked out in the
first round. I'm sorry.

Speaker 3 (17:11):
Yeah, I just dre.

Speaker 4 (17:12):
I totally hear what you what you're saying, especially if
this were a game six or seven. I totally understand
the call, thank you, But I just dalt and connect
can get you three minutes. Just spell people and or
find a little magic, is all I'm saying. Vanderbilt could
have been chasing around Anthony Edwards. To me, that is
another way for the other side of this thing. He
could have been hounding and making it hard on Ann Edwards.
I'm not saying they had to all be offense. It

(17:33):
could have been defense making it hard for Anthony Edward.
Vanderbilt's good as day.

Speaker 3 (17:37):
Can somebody be like, make him work for it?

Speaker 4 (17:39):
You get six files, go in there, muck it up.
Use some of those files. Vanderbilt countin. You saw him
pushing Lebron around.

Speaker 3 (17:46):
That's my point. So what everybody's looking at just offense.
I'm not dude.

Speaker 4 (17:49):
Go in there, mess it up, Gay Vince and check
somebody ninety four feet.

Speaker 3 (17:53):
Just mix it up for three or four minutes. That's it.

Speaker 1 (17:55):
Marcus in Tampa Bay, you're on the couple of Fox
Sports Radio.

Speaker 3 (17:59):
What's up, Marcus?

Speaker 6 (18:00):
So what's going on?

Speaker 3 (18:01):
Guys? How are you good?

Speaker 2 (18:03):
Good?

Speaker 9 (18:03):
Good?

Speaker 10 (18:04):
Look?

Speaker 6 (18:04):
Yeah, this whole thing is on JJ Reddick Man. He
should have been to Lebron the entire fourth quarter. Okay,
see those three, those three young guns are not intimidated
by Lebron's visicality. You know when Lebron flips, I know
what I'm feeling. Happened to me when I was forty
years old playing against some young bucks. Take that step

(18:25):
the ground ain't there. I haven't played Marcus.

Speaker 1 (18:29):
If they didn't play him at all, he would have
got the same amount of points.

Speaker 3 (18:32):
Any unfortunately, right one.

Speaker 4 (18:34):
I have to admit you're right, But come on, now,
they came they not not playing the fourth?

Speaker 3 (18:38):
Ain't the issues? Give m a spell?

Speaker 1 (18:41):
Nick in New York, You're on the odd couple of
Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 3 (18:44):
What's up? Nick?

Speaker 6 (18:45):
Hey, guys, thanks for taking my call.

Speaker 5 (18:47):
Love the show.

Speaker 3 (18:48):
Thank you appreciate.

Speaker 9 (18:50):
I think JJ's got the most to take the blame
for it, but it is collectively as as the said.
One thing is why is Lebron taking the ball out?

Speaker 6 (18:58):
That was one thing that was so confusing.

Speaker 10 (19:00):
Why he takes the ball.

Speaker 3 (19:01):
Up because you don't know because you didn't want the shot?
Is that what it is? Yeah? I mean what else
could it be? Are you saying on the last play? Yeah?
What else could it be?

Speaker 9 (19:10):
The other part was there was there was a play
that JJ redick. They had the camera on marking with
the rep when there was that kickball that would have
restarted the shot clock to back to fourteen.

Speaker 8 (19:19):
Yeah, he never challenged it.

Speaker 9 (19:21):
It was right in front of him. The rev blatantly
missed it. But that would have added more time in
another possession. That's on JJ.

Speaker 7 (19:27):
You gotta I don't know what.

Speaker 9 (19:28):
Their timeout circumstance was. But you got to review that
and get that possession back. But that's not playing the bench.

Speaker 6 (19:35):
Even to come in and.

Speaker 1 (19:35):
Give a hard pot you gotta give, you gotta get
That's what I was saying. Do you bring a defensive
segments stance? Uh, give them a blow so that they
could play. Thanks for sharing the call. Yeah, that's my
whole point. The other thing is this mixing it up
a little bit. I gotta give Anthony it was a
different look. I gotta give him. You know what I mean,
Gay Vincent, smaller can get up under him.

Speaker 4 (19:53):
Okay, switch it up, Vanderbilt, you're bigger, you're fat, Like,
mix it up a little bit.

Speaker 1 (19:58):
Dion in Texas, you're on the couple of Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 3 (20:01):
What's up? Dion?

Speaker 8 (20:03):
He what's up? Fellas? Loving the show great? And man,
I was screaming at my television all weekend.

Speaker 5 (20:09):
JJ.

Speaker 8 (20:09):
Reddick is getting out coached by and I don't think
since is that great of a coach. And honestly, the
people are praising Anthony Edwards. I don't think he's done
anything spectacular. I think he's just taking advantage of the
stupidity of the Lakers. And JJ Reddick. They had nineteen
turnovers in game three and then and then yesterday, Yeah,
absolutely slopping yesterday, Oh my god, you get Luca had

(20:33):
two rebounds and one assist. That's my point guard. He
got one assistant, really right?

Speaker 1 (20:38):
And yes, that terrible imbound lazy inbounds by Lebron?

Speaker 3 (20:43):
What is that?

Speaker 8 (20:45):
And that's because of not focused and also tired. Lebron
missed the lay up yesterday, Lucas. They were tired, and
and so you can't have that. But they're just getting
out coached, and you gotta rotate players in and out.
You gotta come out. Forty year old le Bron's tired
after game three. Now you're gonna play him the full
game and not think he's gonna be tired.

Speaker 3 (21:06):
Come on, man, they remind you too, Dean.

Speaker 4 (21:08):
This is off Luca coming off whatever the illness was
that had them all jacked up. So again, I get
playing them big minutes. I don't even mind if you
play them forty minutes. If it's just you need a
moment to find and again you might find a spark.
Connect might come in for four minutes, hit two or
three threes. You say, man, I didn't see that coming.
So there's a spark to be had somewhere on the
bench if you allow for the magical moment.

Speaker 1 (21:28):
All right?

Speaker 4 (21:28):
Eight seven seven yeah, ninety nine on Fox. Go ahead,
We're gonna take more of your calls. So if you
holding on, I want to get in on this.

Speaker 3 (21:34):
We want to know.

Speaker 1 (21:35):
Everybody wants to talk about the Lakers and what's going
on there in the three one hole and in trouble
for real, like they gotta try to win three in
a row against this young, energetic Timberwolves team.

Speaker 3 (21:44):
I don't see it, but the stranger things straight, that
is true, all right. I don't see I don't think
it's gonna happen.

Speaker 4 (21:50):
Eight seven, seven ninety nine On Fox, we got what's
trending right now with Steve the Saga.

Speaker 3 (21:53):
Hey, Steve, Hello, gentlemen.

Speaker 11 (21:55):
Hell is his sports weekend, Sir.

Speaker 1 (21:56):
It was absolutely fantastic in Sacramento Beautiful Ballpark fourteen thousand.

Speaker 3 (22:03):
It was a little drizzly and then it stopped, cleared.

Speaker 11 (22:05):
Up Triple A Stadium they are sharing for a few
years until we all assume the A's are moving to Las.

Speaker 3 (22:10):
I've seen the spot in Las Vegas. You know, they've
already torn down the Tropic it is. It's right on
the strip cross from.

Speaker 11 (22:18):
MGM where you take that walkway over the boy.

Speaker 1 (22:21):
Yeah, yeah, it's right there. It would be awesome. And
they're talking about having four o'clock games. Oh yeah, four
o'clock Pacific, so that would be like seven eastern.

Speaker 3 (22:30):
Yeah to the roof. Of course, you could go to
the game and then go out in Vegas.

Speaker 1 (22:34):
They don't want you to be at the ballpark during
the business house.

Speaker 11 (22:37):
If you've ever visited Vegas, that is one thing. You
want to go to a show or something at night
and then or even just watch a ball game. It's
I can't tell you how fun it is to watch
a big game in Vegas with the crowd on the
enormous big screen TVs. Whether it's World Cup, Monday Night Football,
any of that.

Speaker 3 (22:55):
It's a blast. By the way, I sold me, I'll
tell you that they need you to in the market.
It's great. I've just experienced. Baby. Let me tell you
I'm going to Vegas this weekend. Don't ask.

Speaker 4 (23:05):
Steve and Rob got to talking and now I gotta
go speaking to TV.

Speaker 11 (23:08):
Friday night, Celtic's Magic Playoff game on ESPN two point
one million viewers. Wow, NFL Draft seven point three million viewers,
and that was second and third round on Friday night,
and then baseball on Saturday night. We had a four
homer game for Arizona and Hennio Suarez. It was four
straight at bats he hit home runs, including leading off

(23:31):
the bottom of the ninth with the tying homer, and
then they lost in the tenth. And then yesterday Giants
were tied bottom of the ninth and they won on
a little league homer, a ball that was fielded by
the pitcher originally.

Speaker 3 (23:43):
And thrown all the way around the field.

Speaker 11 (23:45):
And then today we have the Mets game that wound
up nineteen to five. The Mets win at Washington with
an infielder pitching the ninth inning. Brandon Nimo two homers,
nine RBIs for New York.

Speaker 1 (23:58):
The Mets had so many hit that even Wan so
So had a couple of hits in the game.

Speaker 3 (24:03):
I'm just saying, oh, I guess we're all hitting today.

Speaker 11 (24:05):
The Mets at the plate were twenty one for forty.

Speaker 4 (24:08):
Seven over under three their next game three runs.

Speaker 3 (24:12):
You were saying, hits three runs. You're right about that.
Used to That's why is it over under three? What
you got?

Speaker 11 (24:18):
Well, it is the national sir, they're visiting, and so
the Mets record.

Speaker 3 (24:22):
Is twenty and nine.

Speaker 11 (24:24):
Right now, the Twins are leading four nothing at Cleveland
in the fifth and the Orioles up one nothing on
the Yankees bottom of the third. Dodger pitcher Tyler Glass now,
who left early in another start yesterday, will likely go
on the injured Listen. Wow, Pittsburgh Penguins. Yeah, it's a
different thing every time too. It's four different things in
the last year. Pittsburgh Penguins fired coach Mike Sullivan after

(24:44):
ten seasons. And the NBA update is we have Cleveland
at Miami coming up. The Cavs. Darius Garland is out
again with a spring toe. The late game Golden State
hosting Houston. Jimmy Butler. The Warriors returns tonight after the
fall last week.

Speaker 3 (24:56):
Back to you, all right, Steve, thank you appreciate it.

Speaker 12 (25:00):
Eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox. Right, we're talking
about Lakers. They take that al one sixteen one thirteen.
Timberwolves get the win. They're up three to one now
and they commanded the series.

Speaker 4 (25:12):
Who's to blame? And people forget for those who joining.
I mentioned this earlier, Rob the Lakers could be up
three to one. They took care of business in Game three.
Had they took taken care of business yesterday, they could
be in the driver's seat up three to one.

Speaker 3 (25:27):
But they haven't. And that's what's been disappointing.

Speaker 4 (25:29):
Having a Luca led team with also a Lebron and
Uh and Alson Reeds who played spectacular this year. You
would think those three guys will be able to close
and get it done.

Speaker 3 (25:38):
That's not the case.

Speaker 4 (25:39):
So now we're talking about JJ playing all five starters
in that second half, the second half of those starters,
Finny Smith being the one that was inserted in in
the second half, all the entire second half of the game.

Speaker 3 (25:49):
Eight seven, seven ninety nine one Fox.

Speaker 1 (25:50):
Who we got Emmitt in Olympia, Washington. You're on the
on couple of Fox Sports Radio. What's up, Emmett?

Speaker 5 (25:58):
This Randy right be in New Orleans.

Speaker 13 (26:00):
What's going on?

Speaker 3 (26:02):
Wrong button? Sorry about that? What's up? Random? Oh man?

Speaker 13 (26:04):
Uncle Robe Kelvin, what's happening?

Speaker 6 (26:06):
Man?

Speaker 13 (26:08):
It's a it's a surprise surprise that a podcast coach
is not working out the NBA. Right, surprise surprise you right,
But but my biggest thing was this is jj reddick.
To me, obviously its was coming down. You know, they
would pressure him as he crossed half court and then
they will sending a blitz, and as they sent the blitz,

(26:29):
he found either the open man or he went to
his right or his left, and he blew by.

Speaker 5 (26:34):
He made the.

Speaker 13 (26:35):
Bucket and he made the pass. It was going on
like the whole fourth quarter. If I'm a guy at
home watching this and I could see that adjustment that
needed to be made, you're telling me that the JJ.

Speaker 3 (26:46):
Redd right, he's a he's a genius that needs to.

Speaker 5 (26:50):
Be he's a genius.

Speaker 13 (26:51):
You're telling me that they didn't draw that up on
the podcast.

Speaker 3 (26:54):
There you go.

Speaker 1 (26:55):
Maybe all that hair gel got in his eyes.

Speaker 10 (26:58):
I'm just exactly what it was.

Speaker 8 (27:00):
But I appreciate, thank you, no doubt.

Speaker 4 (27:02):
And I just keep bringing up Vanderbilt because I know
Laker fans were saying, man, if we had him last
year the postseason, because he was he was hurt a lot,
we'd be all right, We'd be all right.

Speaker 3 (27:10):
Well, he's sitting there, he can't play. What was it
seven minutes?

Speaker 4 (27:12):
I believe it was Vanderbilt literally is the perfect pir
going there, muck it up, mix it up, with it
with and Edwards get in his face the same way
he's pushing around the bron pushing around talking smack with Luca.
Man if y'all don't go, don't get me starting Jackson Hayes.
If you're nothing else but a big body, go file
and Edwards in the air and tell him it's the playoffs. Something,

(27:32):
do something, and I do.

Speaker 1 (27:34):
We do have a quote from Darvin Ham about JJ Redd.

Speaker 3 (27:38):
I'm here, yan, where's your messiah now? Because he was
the messiah? What he got higher?

Speaker 4 (27:49):
I thought this, I thought you were gonna have anything
being played because his pants were in his hands on
his pants and he wasn't doing hands in his pocket.

Speaker 3 (27:55):
Yeah that's okay, this wasn't I'll feel like not like that,
not like that now. Like to do a quote though, Yeah.

Speaker 1 (28:01):
Big Mike, big bike in Kansas. You're in the odd
couple of Fox bort Hey.

Speaker 5 (28:07):
What's going on? Fellas? I say, Man, I just I
didn't get to watch the first half. I'm just trying
to figure out who else played in that game. I'm
with you on Vanderbilt, you know, at least defensively but
who else can have hit a three? I mean you
mentioned connect, but he mentally he ain't capable of doing
it in the big game. You know, he can do

(28:27):
it when well it's not a whole lot of time
or garbage time and stuff like that. He could play free,
but he's too intimidated to be playing at that level.
And it's like, who else do they have on that team?
I know, Vincent, he too inconsistent. Everybody else is inconsistent.
But five, you're right to play five guys for the
whole second half. I mean put it this way in

(28:47):
the from Luca and Reeves. They should not be deferring
to each other, but they so tired someone that you
take this shot because I'm through.

Speaker 3 (28:57):
Uh, thank you, Mike, appreciate you.

Speaker 1 (29:03):
Who else Trey? Is that Trey in Texas? You're on
they couple of Fox Sports Radio?

Speaker 3 (29:08):
What's up?

Speaker 5 (29:08):
Trailing up, y'all?

Speaker 7 (29:09):
What going on?

Speaker 3 (29:11):
We're doing great?

Speaker 5 (29:13):
Doing good? Man, going good?

Speaker 3 (29:14):
Hey man?

Speaker 2 (29:15):
J J.

Speaker 5 (29:15):
Rag was out there coaching like he was JJ Sibodeau.

Speaker 3 (29:18):
You know what, I'm oh, look at that you.

Speaker 1 (29:22):
Got You got a kahi laugh, you got a kawhi
for that tray?

Speaker 10 (29:26):
Yeah, dude, man, yeah, dang, what's going on over here?

Speaker 4 (29:31):
I don't know JJ thought JJ was about to suit up.
I'm like, did he think he was about to go
back there? Switch uniforms were quick come out there. I
don't know about you. And he was so bad.

Speaker 3 (29:39):
I was saying, thumb was your coach instead of jayj
somebody got on Mike, I got you, you got Alex
wasn't having it. Thanks for the trail shoot.

Speaker 1 (29:51):
Scott in North Cacilaki, you're on the odd couple of
Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 3 (29:55):
What's up, Scott?

Speaker 10 (29:56):
What's ya?

Speaker 3 (29:57):
How y'all doing doing good?

Speaker 10 (30:02):
I'm doing good, man. I mean I said it. The
team is just not good enough. I mean when you
look at what JJ did, it was a ball reach.
I mean the third quarter they put the lead up
to ten, so it was working at first. I mean
it's just two back to back games where Lebron, Luca.

Speaker 6 (30:17):
And Austin Reeves, who was not that good as.

Speaker 10 (30:19):
Everybody portray him, didn't come through the fourth. I think
they just collapsed. I mean it was bad mistakes on
their part, the turnovers.

Speaker 4 (30:27):
Lebron, what don't you think there's a reason for the collapse,
saying like, do you can't play them the entire game.

Speaker 1 (30:34):
Second half this Lebron, Lebron oh for two right, the
bad turnover, Luca missing layups.

Speaker 10 (30:44):
I mean I think. I think Lebron produced on the
defensive end, I think, and Luca they just they just
didn't have it. And they didn't have it last game too.
But Atty Edwards played the whole fourth and he produced.
So I mean, I don't know if it's good enough.

Speaker 1 (31:00):
So Lebron is forty and Luca's twenty five going on
thirty six.

Speaker 3 (31:06):
An Austin reason. Maybe he was solid.

Speaker 1 (31:08):
He just wasn't great, that guy that in the postseason
that everybody thought he was.

Speaker 4 (31:12):
I yeah, I mean he was fine. He wasn't spectactular today.
And the big issue is again someday they didn't get
a spark from anywhere else in Minnesota. Just kept coming,
kept coming, kept coming. And they have that. They have
guys who have well defined roles. I know exactly who
I am, and we have an outpha and a superstar
at end. You put that in a blender. This is
how you get Denver a couple of years ago. You
put that in a blender. This is how you get

(31:34):
Toronto with kawhiet a bunch of guys. When you guys
have guys with defined roles, know exactly what they're supposed
to be doing, and we have a superstar, good things
can happen. Lakers got to figure it out. They gotta
figure it out, indeed, because now they're down. And if
Luca ever wanted to show people this is why I'm Luca.
People believe in Luca magic, Well, this is the chance
to do so, all right. For over forty years, the

Speaker 3 (32:08):
It is time now for the tire Reck play of
the day.

Speaker 14 (32:10):
You guys were bitching in twenty eighteen about Josh Allen.
You guys wanted Josh Rosen, and now you guys are
bitching that we don't have a receiver.

Speaker 3 (32:17):
I don't get it, Like we.

Speaker 14 (32:19):
Just scored thirty points in a row for eight straight
games a year ago. I get you guys asking why
we didn't have receivers, But I don't understand it.

Speaker 1 (32:28):
Now.

Speaker 15 (32:29):
You just saw us lead the league in points. Our
job is to score points and win games. Where do
we need to get better defense? We did that, so
I get it. You got to have a show. We
got to have something to bitch about. But bitching about
wide receiver is one of the dumbest arguments I've heard.

Speaker 4 (32:45):
That is Bill's general manager Brandon bed was on WGR
five fifty going at him complaining about what receivers. He said,
take that. You ain't got something better else to talk about.
There is your player of the day right there. All right,
I couple a whole lot left. The show is Fox

Speaker 3 (33:57):
What we got, Alex? You play that drop? You want
to drop real quick, dropping like it is hot? Do that?
Three and a one in my last three up eight?
Hey go with nowhere? What Rob Bank? What nowhere?

Speaker 1 (34:18):
That is Friday eight and one in the last three
betting days and now one eleven and one ten overall.

Speaker 4 (34:27):
I'm over there we go. That's the run I was
looking for. There you go?

Speaker 3 (34:31):
Yes, all right, here we go tonight best bet.

Speaker 1 (34:34):
I'm taking the Rockets plus four and a half taking
on the Golden State in San Francisco, the Yankees minus
one and a half run.

Speaker 3 (34:42):
Oh they're already down four nothing. I don't know how
that's gonna work out. We'll see there. Still early.

Speaker 11 (34:49):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (34:49):
And then Miami plus eight and a half they eat
it down by fifteen.

Speaker 3 (34:54):
I still early.

Speaker 1 (34:55):
But all of these bets were on social media, of course,
earlier before the game started again. Miami he plus eight
and a half, New York Yankees minus one and a
half and that Houston rock is the best bet. At
plus four and a half. And remember Kelvin, Yeah, I'm
not telling you who to bet on. I'm telling you
who I bet on.

Speaker 4 (35:17):
I know people king by the way, And we're gonna
talk a little bit more about this as we get
in the next hour. For those who wait to hear,
you know about the Schadeur Sanders and the NFL draft
and all that, But the print call that defensive coordinator
you have Olbrick, his son, Jack's Olbrick called Chadeur Sanders

(35:39):
a couple of nights ago, acted as if he was
going to be drafted, do the whole thing, and that
was not the case.

Speaker 3 (35:45):
That was disappointing right there.

Speaker 1 (35:46):
And I'll be honest, Yeah, I thought it was hilarious.
I thought for a kid who's what sixteen or whatever, No,
he's in college.

Speaker 3 (35:54):
Yeah, he's in college. He's in college.

Speaker 1 (35:55):
I thought for a kid to have those kind of
kohonas to take the number off his dad's iPad, right, yeah,
and then call up in that moment to get an
ultimate I'm serious, like, because it's a prank, Because a
kid's prank is dumb as childish. It's something I would
expect a college kid to do. Not a grown man,

(36:16):
so I don't. I really don't have an issue with me.

Speaker 3 (36:19):
He didn't hurt any boy.

Speaker 4 (36:20):
I'm gonna tell you why I didn't hurt anybody. It's
not that I have an issue with pranks, kids, prank, you, prank, prank.
The issue I have with it as looking at it
as a father, specifically, as a father specifically in this
industry and business. It's not like you know obviously has
a father and his father sells insurance in wisconsin' some
random guy like dude, you literally are interfering with me,

(36:43):
my team, my organization, how your dad feeds you, how
I'm paying for your college, and that to me is
the main you know, that's one of the major issues
I have.

Speaker 3 (36:51):
Yeah, but everybody, everybody who does. Can you have a kid?

Speaker 1 (36:53):
Yeah, okay, you have three daughters that one of them
is going to do something.

Speaker 3 (36:58):
Okay, that doesn't mean you don't say that.

Speaker 4 (37:01):
But express I agree what I'm saying from my vantage point.

Speaker 3 (37:06):
On just just a viewer enjoying the prank. I enjoy
good prank, and I thought that was funny. Hey, Shador,
you're gonna have to wait. We're gonna pick you, but
you have to wait a little longer.

Speaker 1 (37:16):
I mean, here's a guy sweating it out, being embarrassed,
and I'm.

Speaker 4 (37:21):
Actually shocked by you. This is very Unrob of Rob.
I know you love comedy. I know you love stap
slapstick comedy.

Speaker 3 (37:27):
You don't know where I'm gonna go.

Speaker 12 (37:28):
Everybody thinks they have me pointing in the court. But
it's also you're usually enjoying this. Maybe maybe it isn't you.
The more I think about it, Alex.

Speaker 3 (37:36):
We gotta remember, Kate, you're very new to the show.
Rob does not like black quarterbacks. Well that too, I
forget about that.

Speaker 4 (37:42):
No, I know, I've been around long to know that
pretty soon, you know, except for Lamar. Except for Lamar,
by the way, about you about five more years away
from about three quarters of the quarterbacks.

Speaker 3 (37:51):
And I was like, I don't know what you're gonna do.
You're gonna be hating the NFL.

Speaker 4 (37:55):
No, no, man, I know it's October, but do we
gotta talk about the NFL? A JJ McCarthy, God man,
you're gonna be hanging out with uh what's his name?

Speaker 3 (38:05):
Uh? Who was the coach of the Raiders again? John
John Gruden? John Gruden?

Speaker 4 (38:09):
No, look my again? Kids will be kids. Prank's having
my issue with it. He's again I'm looking at us, Dude,
your dad is literally the defensive coordinator for the Atlanta Falcons.
But he's a kid though, right, But I'm saying like
that is that's just stupid, beyond just kids stupid, because god,
you know, nothing happened to his dad. But what if
you know what I mean, what if they we need
we need to overreact. Everybody's is we gotta do something.

(38:32):
Let's fire him or just whatever, doc him, suspend him,
whatever that. So that to me makes it even stupider.
But again I do appreciate and respect how shoud or
handled that. It was just like, yo, man, people are
gonna do stupid things. Kids be kids. You know, I'm
on a bigger and better things. And so he kind
of had some empathy and you know, show some grace
towards the young man, which is counter to what everything

(38:55):
everybody was saying about him. So, but again, some other
kids got prank too. Apparently it wasn't just Chador Tyler,
Warren tight End got prank. You got Kyle McCord, Chase
Lunt uh, some unfree uh undrafted free agents got it
as well, but yeah, that's that.

Speaker 3 (39:10):
Let me tell you where we are.

Speaker 4 (39:11):
By the way, everyone, when you go to the grocery store, Steve,
Alex Justin and we know you stay at Raffs, Rob, what.

Speaker 3 (39:20):
I'm be careful. We think that work there. I'm in there, so.

Speaker 4 (39:23):
Seriously, they're gonna start handing you stuff. Here's the cast register.
You're on al five. Be careful because co Oe is
real right now, content over everything. And these kids are
throwing stuff at people, putting trash bags over people's heads
while they're shopping.

Speaker 3 (39:39):
They're doing all types of stupid stuff. Have you noticed.
I don't know if you've seen it. I got hit
in the head by some pillows that fell down at
the store. Are you serious?

Speaker 5 (39:50):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (39:50):
Is that a prank?

Speaker 4 (39:51):
Somebody might have did that if you're being serious, yeah,
some kids might have you lucky with some pillows, not
the trash buckets, pillows.

Speaker 1 (39:58):
And I was like, I looked around and they were
like they fell off from the top and there was
a guy the I was like, are.

Speaker 3 (40:06):
You serious right now?

Speaker 9 (40:09):
Rob?

Speaker 4 (40:09):
Google yourself? You're Google man is shocked to be hit
with pillows? You might be on the run right now. Yeah,
let me go to my TikTok and see if you
are hit rob there you are right there, Gucci hoodie.

Speaker 14 (40:21):
You guys were bitching in twenty eighteen about Josh Allen.
You guys wanted Josh Rosen, and now you guys are
bitching that we don't have a receiver.

Speaker 6 (40:28):
I don't get it.

Speaker 14 (40:29):
Like, we just scored thirty points in a row for
eight straight games a year ago. I get you guys
asking why we didn't have receivers, but I don't understand
it now.

Speaker 15 (40:39):
You just saw us lead the league in points. Our
job is to score points and win games. Where do
we need to get better defense? We did that, So.

Speaker 5 (40:47):
I get it.

Speaker 15 (40:47):
You got to have a show. We got to have
something to bitch about. But bitching about wide receiver is
one of the dumbest arguments I've heard.

Speaker 4 (40:55):
That is Bill's general manager Brandon bead was on WGR
five going at him complain about what receives. He said,
take that, you ain't got something better else to talk about.

Adam Kaplan, NFL Insider on Fox Sports Radio, will be
joining us at the bottom of the hour till more
about the draft and some other stuff.

Speaker 3 (42:02):
Give us some more insight. But that's where we're gonna
go this hour. Kelvin.

Speaker 1 (42:05):
Yeah, talk about what happened with Shador Sanders, the shock
of going in the fifth round, all the other stuff
and all the crazy conspiracies.

Speaker 3 (42:16):
That were out there very abundant.

Speaker 1 (42:19):
And I'm gonna say this, I thought the draft coverage
was the worst I've ever seen it.

Speaker 3 (42:25):
And we mentioned this the other day.

Speaker 1 (42:28):
So many analysts like took it personally, do you know
what I mean, Like like the NFL and drafting quarterbacks
and who goes in this like like it's it's not
an exact science. They're wrong. And guys, Tom Brady has
seven Super Bowls. You drafted the sixth round, like it's

(42:50):
not whoever's drafted the first round automatically gonna be great,
and this and that. How many bust first overall picks,
first round quarterbacks? Josh and had a cup of coffee
in the sweet role in Arizona one year.

Speaker 4 (43:05):
It happens both sides of the guys. We didn't see
coming that, you guys, let Tom Brady go sit. Guys,
we thought was the end all be all, you know.

Speaker 1 (43:12):
But I gotta say this, the Sanders family, Dion and
Should they're to blame for this as well. And what
I mean by that is they thought that they were
going to run this Like Dion was the one who

(43:34):
said he's going to be a top five pick, right, Okay.

Speaker 3 (43:38):
Yeah, all right.

Speaker 1 (43:39):
Even they have interviews and and quotes where he's like,
if I'm a young quarterback, I wouldn't want to go
to Cleveland, That's where they all died there or something,
you know like that. Also talked about team that he
wouldn't allow should do or to play.

Speaker 3 (43:56):
Okay, So all that.

Speaker 1 (44:00):
Plus Shador blew off some interviews, chardor you know, went
in they said, you know, the stuff that he was
unprepared to do, the whiteboard, all kinds of stuff, and
people went, Okay, I guess he You know, we don't
look at you as a first round talent, so we're
not gonna draft in the second round or first or

(44:20):
second round.

Speaker 3 (44:20):
And have you think that we think you're going to
be a.

Speaker 1 (44:24):
Starting quarterback or franchise quarterback, because that's the worst thing
you could do is draft the guy too high thinking that, oh,
I'm this is my team, I'm gonna be that guy.
They didn't look at him like that. Even going to
the Browns. They passed him over four times before they
picked them with their was it their fifth pick, four

(44:48):
times And I just it was mishandled this idea that
the NFL they were trying to humble and put them
in his place. That's all poppy cock, boulder dash and nonsense.

Speaker 3 (45:03):
It's just as nonsense.

Speaker 1 (45:05):
You're a general manager or a coach and you have
a talent there, you're trying to hold onto your gig,
you're trying to win games. Come on, man, do not
buy into that that you're not going to draft somebody
who can help you win, you are going to do that?

Speaker 3 (45:23):
And then the race thing. There are no black general managers?
Are okay? Is Mike Tomlin black? Did Mike Tomlin have
a chance to draft him? He sure did?

Speaker 1 (45:35):
What he say, No, I'll pass. I'm not saying it's
all on him. But there's a black coach. Tom Brady's
his mentor?

Speaker 9 (45:44):
Is that?

Speaker 3 (45:45):
Was that what they're calling tom Brady? Or friend or something?
You know they worked out together.

Speaker 1 (45:50):
All that the Raiders passed them over. Tom Brady's your guy,
shador tom Brady. He knows quarterback talent, doesn't he? Tom Brady?
If he worked out with him through the football with
him right, he could have said, are you kidding me?
He's available. Let's make it happen. We have our quarterback

(46:13):
for the future. The Raiders don't have a quarterback. Why
wouldn't tom Brady.

Speaker 3 (46:18):
Took take him?

Speaker 1 (46:20):
This had nothing to do with anything other than he
wasn't viewed as a top tier quarterback and they didn't
want to waste a high pick and decided later there
were only really three or four teams that needed a quarterback,
so that limited the scope.

Speaker 3 (46:39):
Would you agree? Yeah?

Speaker 4 (46:40):
That to me, of most things that you said, I
agree with the most. I do believe that this was
in the year where there were several, you know, eight, nine,
twelve teams that needed quarterbacks. I do agree with that.
I would push back on a couple of things. I
do believe that there were a couple of things that
play here. Number One, I think the reason why you
saw some people I know Mel Kuiper and I know
we'll talk about that a little bit more specifically, and.

Speaker 3 (47:02):
Why some other people saw Lewis Rick.

Speaker 4 (47:04):
I saw the people genuinely frustrated, upset and obviously fans
and people are you know, who.

Speaker 3 (47:10):
Are covering the sport.

Speaker 1 (47:12):
I'm sorry to be personally, but let me just say
that then I'm gonna let you go.

Speaker 3 (47:17):
Yeah that that's because you might be friends with Dion.

Speaker 1 (47:20):
You can't have a personal like like the idea that
mel Kiper could get on the air and say, the
NFL doesn't know how to uh evaluate quarterbacks and they
haven't been able to.

Speaker 3 (47:33):
Do it for fifty years.

Speaker 4 (47:34):
It's a joke, but it's not a joke when they
look at the percentage though, Like that's what we just said.

Speaker 3 (47:38):
He's absolutely right that most of the time they get
that's what I know.

Speaker 4 (47:43):
It's what I'm saying in theory, and he put extra
sauce on it. But I think why he put extra
sauce on it was because, like a lot of people,
for him, I've evaluated this for thirty forty However many years,
I've never seen a guy who so many people, in
our conversations, in our text exchange and our meetups and
our having coffees, valuate this guy.

Speaker 3 (48:05):
Here.

Speaker 4 (48:06):
A lot of people, Hey he's not a top five,
not top ten. Hey he's not a first rounder, he's
probably a second rounder. To see a guy go from
not really a first round maybe late first round, second
to may to fifth, specifically at the most important position,
that is probably why he put extra sauce on his emotions,
how he felt, and why so many people did that.
And Louis Reddeck I can go down the line because

(48:26):
people were like, wait a minute, if you've all told
me he's the first hold.

Speaker 3 (48:30):
You that did NFL people tell.

Speaker 4 (48:32):
You that, that's what I'm saying. White male comin probably
felt the way because he's having conversation literally, he's talking
to his peers who do this, and if most people
are saying, I don't agree with the top ten. He's
definitely not a first round up, but for sure second
round off the run and for him to drop fifth
and they get to the fifth round and again not
only drop to the fifth round, be the fifth quarterback

(48:53):
selected when we had heard of universally he was around
the third, maybe not first, maybe not second, probably third.
That's why it was so com so third to fifth
made people lose their mind.

Speaker 3 (49:03):
I'll tell you why.

Speaker 4 (49:03):
So that point he said that in another year to fifth,
where there's a bunch of draft quarterbacks, their quarterbacks weren't great.

Speaker 3 (49:10):
Even the reach for three wasn't great.

Speaker 4 (49:12):
I mean, dude, you're talking about quarterbacks that weren't fantastic.
This isn't a quarterback season or draft where they was
loaded with legit real quarterbacks. So even a third pick
dart or a second pick is like oh okay, and on
down the line until you get to Shador. Also, when
you just talk about there's things to be left desired,
I can completely understand that, right. Is he walking around

(49:33):
like Andrew Luck? No, But we've had plenty of people
who were drafted way higher than him who had left
things to be desired. Johnny Monzel, Ryan Leave JaMarcus Russell,
Trey Lance. There was a reach. Zach Wilson was a reach.
Matt Looner we talk about, So there are other pan
wasn't a reach. I mean he made a mistake by
not well, no, no, no, not a reach. I'm saying

(49:54):
with those two were reached. I'm saying with deficiencies. They're saying, well,
his arm might not be the greatest. That was what
they were saying. That line arm not the strongest. So
I'm saying there were deficiencies. Again, He's not Andrew Luck.
Nobody's saying that. But when you look at the productivity,
that's where it also didn't match. The dude is fourteenth
in NCAAD one history with fourteen hundred, three hundred and
forty three passing yards. He is the first two He's

(50:16):
only one of two qbs to have fourteen thousand yards
while completing over seventy percent of his passes. And then
he had a nine to one touchdown the interception ratio.
He went bar for bar, as they say in rat world,
but pass a pass with Caleb Williams, he had no
offensive line. So that's where people are like, well, dang,
I'm not saying he's the greatest, but to drop like that,
And I think there's something last point I'll make here.

(50:38):
I do think there's a part of this that absolutely
said the kid who has it all and all these
other kids coming nil money making big money, got a name,
got millions of followers, and he might have had a
little extra bravado and swaggering a little bit of confidence.

Speaker 3 (50:54):
I believe that.

Speaker 4 (50:54):
I absolutely believe that, and I do think there was
a message being sent, don't come in message I'm about
to tell you, don't.

Speaker 3 (51:02):
Come in here with all that. This is the NFL.

Speaker 4 (51:04):
We were bigger before you, during you, and after you,
and don't come in here with all that.

Speaker 3 (51:08):
I'm the man, I'm.

Speaker 4 (51:09):
The one an extra bravado, extra arrogance, extra confidence. Just
because you got already got millions of dollars in the bank,
just cause you got millions of followers and shows on
all types of networks and all that, we still run
this thing. And I absolutely believe that was not only
for for NFL coming into the league, but also college
all your young folks like the young quarterback who left Tennessee.

(51:31):
Hold on everybody just trying to go get more money
and do all that hold on, and I think a
message was made because again it just logically didn't make sense.

Speaker 3 (51:39):
Nobody's saying he had the top time.

Speaker 1 (51:41):
Disagree. I totally disagree. You don't even have any evidence.
And people keep saying unless you where's your evidence that
the NFL circulated, Like, seriously, you could speculate all you want,
but I'm talking.

Speaker 3 (51:57):
Me, be very clear.

Speaker 4 (51:58):
This is one hundred percent Kelvin Washington's object speculating a
thousand percent. This is me watching saying noticing trends, won'ting
what the kid happened in college a week or two
before the kid the quarterback from Tennessee, and noticing conversations,
and I just think there's absolutely.

Speaker 1 (52:15):
The the guys who lose jobs in the NFL because
they don't win. Okay, seriously, you can't tell me that
somebody really believes he's a franchise quarterback and the NFL
told you not.

Speaker 3 (52:28):
To draft him, okay, because his.

Speaker 1 (52:31):
Receivers got drafted, right and everybody else who around him,
And you're gonna tell me that they're really gonna be like,
oh yeah, don't draft him, but the Browns did draft him.
If you told me he didn't get drafted at all,
or or nobody sign him as a free agent or whatever.
Maybe I would buy that there's some sort of black
ball thing. But he did get drafted. You're just not

(52:53):
happy where.

Speaker 2 (52:54):
He got.

Speaker 3 (52:56):
Mesgeing, But what's the masho? Who who was message? Was this?
Roger good Daft? Who is that from? Tell me?

Speaker 4 (53:05):
I'm telling you front officers who say, kid, don't come
in here acting like you're haughty or better than deon Center.
This is what happens when you're not. If he were
Andrew Luck cam Newton when he was coming out, uh,
you know Baker some of these obviously, or Trevor Lawrence
when they feel like you're the one, this wouldn't matter.
He could come in whatever he wanted. He could have
been five minutes late, because you're that talent. We know

(53:26):
that in life, in any profession, talent superseeds a lot.
So I agree he would have been drafted despite anything
anybody said. If he were that type of talent, what
what type of time? And I agree with that, But
that's where people are confusing, because Okay, if he's a second,
if he's a second, third round pick, and all this
other stuff, well I have no problem. Let him slide
the fifth in to make it a point, because if he's.

Speaker 1 (53:47):
Not, it's not a point because they did draft him.
That Browns passed on him, because I still gotta draft
seven people. Yeah, but they know I still gotta dra
have to draft thirty two teams, seven rounds.

Speaker 3 (53:57):
Somebody's gonna grab. But they didn't have to.

Speaker 1 (53:59):
And the whole thing is that they did draft him,
and finally they were like, Okay, that's for that value
of a guy that we don't expect to be this
kind of quarterback. That that's a reason you wait because
you could say, well, he might be that fit.

Speaker 3 (54:13):
I agree, I agree, we don't have this. You need
other players first, we don't need a quarterback. Then I
agree with you on that.

Speaker 4 (54:20):
I said, this wasn't the year of like, uh, you know,
seven legit real, five legit real quarterbacks, last weight real quick.

Speaker 3 (54:28):
I do believe that Dion might.

Speaker 4 (54:31):
Have put a little too much out there about you know,
we ain't going here, remember a little sex and your windows.
He wasn't Eli talent. Now, obviously career we never know
what's gonna happen. That's life. But Eli coming out was
universally know the number one.

Speaker 1 (54:48):
Because Archie was a quarterback, and and Peyton was in
the league, so you already had a.

Speaker 4 (54:52):
Track, right, right, and so he so he, you know,
over the last year and a half, putting out a
little too much, saying a little too much, being a
little cute with the hell we ain't gonna, I ain't
gonna say, but we ain't gonna. They did put a
little extra bit on that as well. But I get
I think, I, like many was just dumbfounded that this
guy who did nothing but be productive his entire college career,
all of a sudden was a fifth rounder. And you
got guys who we literally when they got their name

(55:14):
called with me quarterbacks and me other players me I
picked over him.

Speaker 3 (55:18):
That's what made it crazy eight seven ninety nine on Fox,
We woul't get as many people in on this. Where
are you? Was there some sort of conspiracy?

Speaker 1 (55:26):
The NFL throughout the said he was a boogeyman, don't draft.

Speaker 3 (55:30):
Him, or was he maybe just not that good?

Speaker 1 (55:32):
And we over and I mean we, the media and
people will put it out there, over evaluated him, and
the NFL was on a different page. Not many teams
were looking for quarterbacks and they didn't want to waste
picks high when they knew he wasn't gonna be.

Speaker 3 (55:47):
A franchise quarterback.

Speaker 1 (55:48):
You don't have to take him there eight seven, seven
ninety nine on Fox, It is the couple on a
