Speaker 2 (00:19):
You're listening to the best of the Odd Couple.

Speaker 3 (00:25):
Well.

Speaker 4 (00:25):
As you guys know, we're about an hour away from
tip off the big debut Cooper flag making his Summer
League debut tonight eight pm Eastern, going head to head
on the marquee against the fifty fifth pick of last season,
Bronni James in Los Angeles Lakers Summer League squad guys.
According to vivid Seats, as of eleven am this morning

(00:46):
local time in Vegas, the average ticket price was up
to two hundred and twenty three dollars per ticket, the
cheapest being about eighty five bucks a court side seat
running you a crisp three grand.

Speaker 3 (01:00):
But that's not the story here.

Speaker 4 (01:01):
The story is, of course, while this is Cooper Flagg's
big debut, the number one pick, he actually he has
to share top billing with Bronnie James. In fact, when
ESPN put out a social media graphic promoting tonight's game,
tipping off about an hour, here's all it read, all caps,
Cooper Flag, Bronnie James, Cinema Rob.

Speaker 5 (01:24):
You got a problem with that, quilp. Yeah.

Speaker 6 (01:26):
I have a big problem with it. And there's two things.

Speaker 7 (01:30):
Because the graphic I saw, Bronnie James was on the left,
Am I right? And Cooper Flag was on the right,
left to right?

Speaker 6 (01:37):
Don't you go left to right? Okay, So here's my
issue with this.

Speaker 7 (01:44):
Bronnie James does not nt belong on the marquee. Once again,
the minions are trying to manipulate you, fool you into
thinking what you're going to see is something special and
something that you can't miss must see TV. And also
I'm worried about Cooper Flag because his day but should

(02:10):
be enough.

Speaker 6 (02:11):
He's the chosen one, he's the new guy.

Speaker 7 (02:14):
Oh my god, he's white chocolate times two, double dipped.

Speaker 5 (02:19):
He's gonna be.

Speaker 7 (02:21):
Larry Bird, Larry Ostrich, Larry I don't know, Larry Raven.
He's going to be all of that plus ten bags
of chips. And the only way we could sell the
next great white player in this country is to attach
him to a second round pick, fifty fifth pick who

(02:45):
couldn't play well at USC who you know, did mop
up duties for the Lakers for the most part and
played in the G League and didn't do anything to
make you feel like, oh my god, you know he's
going to be something special.

Speaker 1 (03:03):
You have to pair Bronnie James to get people to
watch Cooper Flag.

Speaker 6 (03:10):
That's where we are.

Speaker 1 (03:12):
I mean, really, Bronnie James should not be on the
same marquee as Cooper Flag.

Speaker 6 (03:19):
They're not the same.

Speaker 7 (03:21):
The only thing that they have going for them is
that Bronnie James is dead, is somebody super famous. So
they're trying to attach the two. They don't go together
at all. They didn't play together. They if they are rivals,
what do they have in common. They have absolutely nothing
in common other than they're playing in some meaningless summer

(03:42):
league basketball game in Las Vegas and people who have
nothing to do or are afraid of the tables.

Speaker 1 (03:49):
Are gonna go there to waste two hours. That's what's
gonna happen.

Speaker 5 (03:54):
Bah humbud.

Speaker 1 (03:56):
First of all, Rob, you gotta remember, dude, this is
a summer league and this is where so many people
have already planned to go see what they believe could
be the next young star, whether it's Cooper Flag, whether
it is obviously Bronni. And remember, Vegas is LA Light
when it comes to the Lakers. Did we talk about

(04:16):
all the time when we have Lamar Mitchwell and bet MGM,
when we have anybody else who knows anything about Vegas,
they always say, oh, my gosh, the Lakers do huge Vegas.
Oh my gosh, Lakers. This is their home away from home.
Oh the Lakers have preseason games in Vegas. This is
home for them. So so many LA people make the
trip and they go to Vegas and they're Laker fans

(04:37):
and they want to see Bronni because they've been following
his journey since Sierra Canyon USC and now of course
with the Lakers. So I think you're under selling how
many people actually are rooting for Bronni, want to see Bronni.

Speaker 5 (04:52):
And if that was.

Speaker 1 (04:53):
Last year, that last old news, that was last year.
Come on, But this happened last Summer League. This happens
in the Summer league. Rop when you're when you're you
go a couple of years. Unless you are saying rookie,
if you're a Jason Tatum or somebody.

Speaker 6 (05:08):
You saw BRODDI playing the NBA last year. This is nothing.
The novelgeteam was last did we Yeah? But the novelty
was the novelty was last year, right yea? And so
well get that not this year.

Speaker 1 (05:21):
But so what people are going for is hoping and
what they saw happen in the G League because he
has played so much in the G League last year.

Speaker 7 (05:28):
Against seventy five percent of the league and this summer
league who won't be playing in.

Speaker 1 (05:33):
The NBA exactly the same thing. No, exactly what the league.
So they're gonna see him and to see if he
can actually produce now that he's beat up on the
G League with guys mostly who won't make the league,
can that translate into the summer league again against guys
who for the large part either won't make the league
or won't get meaningful minutes. So of course they're gonna
sell that. You know this, this is marketing.

Speaker 2 (05:54):
One O one.

Speaker 1 (05:55):
I have a kid again who's been famous since really
essentially his birth.

Speaker 5 (06:00):
Everyone's followed his birth rivals.

Speaker 6 (06:03):
It's a phony.

Speaker 1 (06:06):
If this were Branni versus as Bailey, it would be
Brannie A's Bailey. If this was for whatever reasons, If
when Ben Yama they said we want to work him
back up, you know, to see his stamina, it would
be prani And when ben Yama, absolutely this is gonna happen.
I'm not saying he's Cooper Flag's level of talent. Cooper
Flags should be better. Now this will be his first
real go at it, so you know, he got to
get his legs up under him. But he's a he's

(06:28):
a much better prospect. That's not even a question. But
absolutely for marketing persons purposes, for the NBA, for Vegas,
for Summer League, you knew this was gonna happen. The
right was on the wall.

Speaker 7 (06:38):
It's false advertising. It's false advertising. Fans should should follow
class action suit. It's false advertising. What do you what
do you what exactly is having those two guys they're
gonna be on the court at some point?

Speaker 6 (06:54):
Are they going mono imano?

Speaker 5 (06:56):
They made that? What this is? They may? I do?
I do think more people.

Speaker 1 (07:03):
Are optimistic and rooting for Brownie than you may think,
and meaning they just want to go see and their
rooting and hopefully he plays well, and they're they're rooting
for the.

Speaker 5 (07:10):
Story of him.

Speaker 1 (07:12):
Uh, not that they think he's going to be a
five time ten time All Star, more so that he
finds his footing because he's he's come off as for
all the things that like for his father, he's polarizing.
People hate him, they love him, they're tired of him.
And I get all of that, right, He's been around,
He's been in our subconscious for eons at this point.
But I think for Bronnie, who comes off when they

(07:32):
ask some questions like, man, I'm just trying to become
the best defender I can because I know that's gonna
be one of the main keys I play off in
the league, play in the league. When they ask him
questions about this, he comes off very responsible, very likable.
There are a lot of people also who look at
him as a uh the kid with a goldens with
a silver spoon in his mouth and in the league

(07:53):
is the only the only reason he's in the league
is because of his dad and his last name, and
it's not his talent.

Speaker 5 (07:59):
So there's a lot of.

Speaker 6 (08:00):
People on the other side.

Speaker 7 (08:01):
I mean, you find positives and everything like talking to you.
So I think I got four cavities just listening to that.
What I'm saying Rock you wear this is what hat?

Speaker 5 (08:12):
Do you wear? A lot? What does it say? MLB?

Speaker 8 (08:15):
Bro?

Speaker 1 (08:16):
You wear shirts and say our show the couple you
wear a shirt? My point is, come on, Rob, is
this thing on? You're mister marketing you? What are you
doing here? How are you missing this? It's the NBA.

Speaker 6 (08:29):
If i's not, it's not a real market.

Speaker 2 (08:32):
It's not.

Speaker 6 (08:32):
It's not if they were one and two in the draft,
or they had.

Speaker 7 (08:36):
A rivalry in high school or rivalry in college.

Speaker 1 (08:39):
I'm buying it. That's what I'm trying to die. It's
not a real The season's over. I gotta get you
to phone.

Speaker 7 (08:46):
It's a three dollar bill. If I put my hand
on it, guess what I'd have to wash it. That's
how bad it is. I'm not buying into it. And
let me give you the number. Go ahead, eight seven
seven ninety nine on Fox eight seven seven nine.

Speaker 6 (09:02):
Six sixty three sixty nine.

Speaker 7 (09:04):
And I just do you have a problem with Bronnie
James being up on the marque alongside Cooper Flag like
their equals when they then the only equal that Bronnie
is to Cooper Flag is if he had a couple
of packets in his back pocket. I mean, that's the
only equal that he would be.

Speaker 1 (09:20):
We'll continue that conversation to go ahead and laugh, go
ahead and laughed, We'll continue with that equals.

Speaker 5 (09:27):
That one was sweet hand low. Okay, Oh, very nice,
very nice, Kelvin. I didn't know you could think on
your feet. Wow, that one was right there. I don't know.
I don't know if it.

Speaker 6 (09:40):
Was sweet and low.

Speaker 9 (10:34):
From the reigning NBA champion Oklahoma City Thunder, they locked
up the third and final member of their Big three
All NBA four Jaalen Williams has agreed to a five
dollar JDub five year max rookie contract extension that could
reach up to two hundred and eighty seven million dollars.

Speaker 3 (10:53):
So when you factor in.

Speaker 4 (10:54):
His deal with the SGA deal, with the ched Holgreen deal,
Oklahom the city has now agreed to eight hundred and
twenty two million dollars worth of salary extensions just in
the last two weeks, guys, And just I know you
care more.

Speaker 1 (11:09):
Than the city economy, that's true, And I know you
care about this kind of stuff, guys, Exactly.

Speaker 4 (11:14):
These contracts are all gonna kick in kind of around
the same time. So in the twenty seven to twenty
eight season, three years from now starting then, these guys
will make just the three of them one hundred and
fifty four million, one hundred and sixty six million, one
hundred and seventy eight million, and one hundred and ninety
million dollars. Okay, see they're breaking bread out there right now.

Speaker 6 (11:36):
Man, we are all breaking bread.

Speaker 5 (11:39):
We in a wrong state? Rop crazy? Do we have
taxes out there?

Speaker 6 (11:43):
I don't even know. I've only been there, I think
one time.

Speaker 5 (11:46):
Yeah, I've been.

Speaker 6 (11:46):
It's allSome LOPGDF state taxes. I'm assuming they do.

Speaker 5 (11:50):
Yeah, I don't know if they're Texas or Florida. Now.

Speaker 6 (11:53):
The only problem is the tumbleweed tax.

Speaker 7 (11:56):
You know, you might get hit with two or three
of them if you're walking downtown there is.

Speaker 5 (12:00):
It's worth it.

Speaker 1 (12:01):
If I'm making forty to fifty sixty million here, I'll
be all right.

Speaker 6 (12:06):
You know what I'm gonna I'm gonna be outside the box.

Speaker 7 (12:10):
And you know this, I'm the biggest players guy to
deserve every nickel that they get. When you're working for
somebody and they're paying you that kind of loot, it
tells you how much money the league is making and
the teams are making because they're not paying I'm a
business owner, Kelvin, you're you're a business owner. They're not
paying those guys unless they got it. So they got it.

(12:31):
But my point here is, forget about the extensions. What
I would have done if I was a thunder. I
would have been thinking the forward spind is we just
won a championship. We're not winning three in a row.
The NBA is not set up that way. Something will
go wrong, somebody, something will happen. It just doesn't set
up that way. People in Oklahoma City the dissatisfied. They

(12:53):
haven't seen anything like this since two cows collided downtown.

Speaker 6 (12:57):
I mean, like.

Speaker 5 (13:00):
Nothing like that.

Speaker 4 (13:00):
Rob.

Speaker 7 (13:03):
All I'm saying is I would have said, Okay, I
got Shay, that's my main guy, and now I'm gonna
trade one of the other two Chet or Jay Dubb
and Bill for you know what I mean, for the
next run. Two of them is enough. You don't need
three guys in the NBA. Everybody. It's two guys, and

(13:24):
you got your number one, you pick your second one,
and you're not worrying about three years from now.

Speaker 6 (13:29):
Oh we're gonna have to get rid of somebody gonna
do that. We've already done that.

Speaker 7 (13:32):
We've already advanced that where we got another you know,
younger players where you're not paying out that kind of
money and then.

Speaker 6 (13:39):
You could sustain your run.

Speaker 5 (13:41):
Here.

Speaker 7 (13:42):
I'm just saying I'm not against them getting paid. I
just wonder about them paying three young guys. Very seldom
are you in this situation, Kelvin, where you got three
guys at one time that you have to pay, right,
It just doesn't happen. And I just wonder, Yeah, And
I'm just saying, and I think I would have looked
at it that way.

Speaker 6 (14:03):
Who's the other guy that we need to keep?

Speaker 7 (14:05):
And then we'll go get somebody else, do a sign
and trade, you know what I mean, Get somebody younger
that we don't have to pay, who's got an upside,
who's really good or whatever.

Speaker 6 (14:14):
And we'll pay him two years from now or whatever
it is.

Speaker 1 (14:18):
I think the reason why this could work, and I
actually get your point, but the reason why I think
this could work couple of things. Number one, even more so,
believe it or not, then the previous big three they had.
I think this big three is better serve to win
than the Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook, James Harden, and I

(14:39):
think they have the perfect nucleus to try to do
what that three what's trying to do. And the part
of that is because of the fit, Rob, you have
three guys who none of them want to be the star,
None of them want to be the you know, I'm
the man, I'm the out look at me.

Speaker 5 (14:53):
It's all about me.

Speaker 1 (14:54):
You got three guys who have routinely said it's all
about the collective, it's all about the team, and that's
a rarity. And when you get that, that could equal
some potential long sustained success.

Speaker 5 (15:05):
And when you have guys who play different roles.

Speaker 1 (15:08):
Chet is a guy who kind of can do the
Chris Bosh with the heatles or Horace Grant with the
bulls and that tonight you need me to score a
cool I can get twenty. But if you need me
to just get you fifteen and fifteen and a handful
of blocks, I can do that. And then you got
a guy in j Dubb who's a great defender, but
he was an All NBA defender this year who can
also be a bucket.

Speaker 5 (15:26):
He was an All NBA guy, an All Star meet.

Speaker 1 (15:28):
So you have the perfect nucleus, in my opinion, even
more so than the previous three. The previous three rob
I think you looked at Kevin Durrant was Kevin Rant.
Obviously he was the best, He was a scorer and
all of that, so you kind of put that check Okay,
he's over there, but his temperament didn't mix well with
Russell Westbrook's temperament. Right, you had guys who he's more combustible,
he's more emphatic, he's more you know, raw energy. And

(15:51):
we see it that I didn't work with Kevin Durant,
right because he leaves this him and Russ leave and
a beef. Russ called him a cupcake and all that,
and he goes to team up with Draymond and the Warriors.
Draymond is combustible, is raw, is energetic, and is emphatic,
and so he wouldn't have worked with him. And then
you also had James Harden, who I think is the
opposite of these three in that I need my own team.

(16:12):
I'm just that good, I'm that dynamic, and he was
so I need my own team. So I think this
three is worth the money because it's the right nucleus. Now,
I totally get what you're saying about buying the you know,
getting the other guys and the surrounding cast.

Speaker 5 (16:26):
I do believe you look at.

Speaker 7 (16:27):
Because that's what you're gonna need in order and have
those guys. You're gonna be at the point where you
can't afford anybody else. And that's when you you become Phoenix,
or you become.

Speaker 6 (16:39):
A team where you're top.

Speaker 1 (16:40):
But this is why relax with the Dolly parton. The
reason why this is not Phoenix Rob is because Sam
Presty has an extreme track record of finding guys that
we go, well, shoot, who is that?

Speaker 5 (16:57):
And then they're really good or will shoot?

Speaker 1 (16:59):
I thought he was washed up getting a VET on
a veteran minimum. And I think the key to this
also would be because they have a young, good nucleus,
they'll be able to get guys who are still good,
but you know their older veter say at Chris Paul,
I'm just I know he played there before, but on
a lesser budget. Because I have a chance to win
when guys who are really good vets who are obviously

(17:21):
past their prime but can be contributors see that, Oh
I can win. I can go be a ray Allen
to them, right, I can go be a piece to them.

Speaker 5 (17:29):
I'll go be a metalworld.

Speaker 1 (17:31):
Peace to Kobe Powell and Andrew Bidam or lamar Odom.
Because I can be a piece to a winning program
for the let for the minimum. Because I have a
chance to finally win something. So I think them having
the right nucleus, with the right mindset and the right
attitude gives them a chance to get some older vets
on the for minimum and Sam Pressy is a proven
track record of getting some younger guys.

Speaker 5 (17:52):
Now.

Speaker 1 (17:52):
My one concern, Rob, My one concern, and if I
were to subscribe, the Rob Parker planet will be because
of this.

Speaker 5 (18:03):
Chet home. Grid has had two big injuries already.

Speaker 1 (18:07):
He missed his whole rookie campaign and he only played
thirty two because he landed on his hip and he
ain't got no meat, ain't nothing on the backside. He
even broke his whole hip. Rob, it sounded like a
joker comedian would say, I broke my hip. He broke
his whole hip. My only concern is that is this
Chet's future of up and down.

Speaker 5 (18:26):
I'm healthy, not healthy, hurt, hurt for the future.

Speaker 7 (18:31):
That but that's why you strike when irons hot, because
you already won your championship. Seriously, and I'm not trying
to say you bail, but that's when that that's when
everybody's hot. Now, anybody in their uncle would be willing
to take Chet now. He played last year, right, Oh yeah,
I'll take him.

Speaker 1 (18:51):
Are you kidding? You're giving him up? Yeah, but you
get tool and you restop. He ain't giving up on
a chet this early. He could be defensive player of
the Year next year. He's offensively score he can be.

Speaker 5 (19:04):
But you in a wheelchair. And that's why you do.

Speaker 1 (19:08):
That's they stop and see Rob, and you usually there
you go. You almost went about a month without an
extreme example. I don't even know who are You almost
went too long, Rob. That was like you smoking a cigarette.

Speaker 5 (19:19):
Bro.

Speaker 1 (19:20):
Let me get to the cigarette. You had to finally
get to the extremes. Now he is in a wheelchair.

Speaker 5 (19:24):
Now, but now you to put the man in the
wheel You didn't even say tweaking ankle. You didn't put
him in a wheelchair. Rob.

Speaker 6 (19:31):
But I just saying, like, there's always a possibility.

Speaker 1 (19:34):
This three is built to have a run. You know,
I said this a month ago. They're built to have
a minimum. I believe a Boston Celtics runoff. We get
to a couple of finals, we win one, we get
to in their case, Western Conference finals. Got a couple
of cracks at it. But I think they may be
the one that breaks the mold and finally wins multiple,
like multiple championships in a period of time, Like they

(19:55):
win two out of the next four, they win, you know,
three out of the next set. This run they could
be on. They're built like that to me, and I
see what the NBA has become. If anyone can crack
that code, I think they have the shot at it.

Speaker 2 (20:08):
Rock.

Speaker 7 (20:10):
Yeah, it's gonna be interested that she plays out. So
do you think they win the championship next year? Because
I don't.

Speaker 1 (20:19):
It's gonna be tough with Obviously in their own conference,
Denver retooled, Houston got better.

Speaker 5 (20:25):
I think it's in the mix.

Speaker 6 (20:27):
This is what you have to go through, right exactly.

Speaker 1 (20:31):
But they gave themselves a shot rob every single year
for the next like I said, five years or so.

Speaker 5 (20:37):
And that's all you can ask for is be able
to compete and don't disrespect Oklahoma like that.

Speaker 1 (20:41):
That they should be happy with their little one. Why
they can't want to go crazy and get two or
three round.

Speaker 7 (20:45):
Because I would have won the way because I could
give you so many teams that after they won Milwaukee,
even the Celtics when they won their you know, oh yeah,
they're gonna repeat that. The team, well, something happened on
the way to you.

Speaker 5 (21:00):
No, I'm not saying what can happen. I'm saying you're audience.

Speaker 6 (21:03):
You want to be happy, be happy that you got
a championship. Because there's so many teams.

Speaker 7 (21:08):
The Knicks would take one every one since nineteen seventy three.

Speaker 6 (21:12):
Would they be happy to have one?

Speaker 5 (21:13):
The Knicks to New jer The Brookery.

Speaker 7 (21:15):
Nets have never won. The Pistons haven't won since two
thousand and four. Right, that's twenty one years.

Speaker 6 (21:22):
I could go on and on.

Speaker 7 (21:23):
The Utah Jazz have never won. The New Orleans Pelicans
have never I.

Speaker 1 (21:28):
Gotta take twenty ten. Why I can't want to win
a bunch? Why I gotta win one and go away?
All right, here's your one. Here you go, turn around,
smack them with the butt. Thank you, don't out here. No,
don't worry, be happy was the song Rob.

Speaker 5 (21:39):
I ain't happy. I want to compete. I got a
twenty three, twenty four and a twenty six year old.
Two of them, man, even in the prime. One might
have just stepped in his prime. We go for it. Dangd.
I couldn't do nothing with the three MVPs, Hard and
Westbrook and Durant. I'm going for it now. If I'm Sam.

Speaker 2 (21:54):
Presty, be sure to catch live editions of The Odd
Couple with Rob Parker and kelvin Washington. He said, seven
pm Eastern, four pm Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and
the iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 4 (22:06):
Well, from one MLB bro to a former NFL bro,
depending who you ask, guys, I was.

Speaker 5 (22:16):
About to say.

Speaker 4 (22:18):
Rob's longtime nemesis, Bob Griffin, RG three.

Speaker 6 (22:24):
What a minute was that, Teel Roberts.

Speaker 4 (22:26):
You were trending hard from like eight am Pacific till
about two am Pacific. And that's because and this is
something we mentioned a little bit yesterday, Angel Reese got
the cover of the NBA two k W NBA edition
right now. Obviously, when that happened, there was some blowback
on social media because she's a very polarizing player, and

(22:48):
one person photo shopped Angel Reese that cover depicting her
as a monkey.

Speaker 3 (22:55):
So very race is very inappropriate, very.

Speaker 4 (22:56):
Discussing what we saw, RG three, in an attempt to,
I guess defend her from the trolls, put out a
tweet and I'm gonna.

Speaker 3 (23:05):
Read part of it for you. You guys, let me
know what you think.

Speaker 4 (23:08):
He says, quote, all right, this has got to stop.
There's no place for racism in this world. Whether you
like a player or not. Angel Rees should never be
called or depicted as a monkey. I've been quiet on
the Angel Rees front because she shared a video that
aided in my wife, kid's family and friends receiving death threats,
threats of physical harms to my family and friends, and
threats of sexual violence to my children on social media

(23:28):
and beyond.

Speaker 3 (23:29):
This will never be okay with me.

Speaker 4 (23:32):
And then he goes on to continue because remember he
famously said that Angel Reese did not like Caitlyn Clark.

Speaker 3 (23:39):
And here's what he said.

Speaker 6 (23:40):
That's what Camp said.

Speaker 4 (23:41):
He said, quote people in angels inner circle called me
and told me I was right. And Angel Reese has
grown a Kaitlin Clark because of the way the media
is always asking her about Kaitlin and be constantly compared
to her. Some people make it about race, but I
never did and never will. Guys, there's lots of unpacked there.

Speaker 5 (24:00):
War two.

Speaker 4 (24:00):
And then he adds later, I mean this is about
four and a half paragraphs, but he says, Angel Reads
or any black man or woman should never be called
bigger as a monkey.

Speaker 3 (24:10):
Ever, stop it.

Speaker 4 (24:10):
If you hate Angel Reads because she's black, you're the problem.
If you hate Angel Reaess because you are a kinga
Clark fan, don't turn it racial. There's no space for
racism in this world. A few hours later, Angel reachs
PU out of a statement saying that he's lying. You
don't know anybody's in a circle. This is all made up.
But guys, just your thoughts on this whole.

Speaker 5 (24:27):
Mom can go a him.

Speaker 7 (24:30):
Sorry, No, I'm gonna say here, here's my biggest thing
to start. First of all, you don't have to be
involved in everything that people like.

Speaker 6 (24:39):
You don't have to respond to everything. Number number But
that's number two number one.

Speaker 7 (24:44):
Why would you retweet a racist picture like that and
give it any more exposure or life?

Speaker 6 (24:51):
Am i Kelvin? Am I wrong?

Speaker 5 (24:53):
How do you?

Speaker 6 (24:54):
How do you retweet that picture?

Speaker 5 (24:58):
No?

Speaker 6 (24:58):
If you want to, if some bunt of your attentions,
I'm not going.

Speaker 1 (25:02):
To give the person who just did that more exposure
by putting it on my timeline and my millions of
follow over how many people he has?

Speaker 6 (25:13):
What is he thinking?

Speaker 1 (25:16):
It's so First of all, right, I mean there's there's
so many layers of this, So we're gonna go this
is gonna be on those times where we're gonna double
dutch back and forth, you know, volleyball, I mean, you know,
like a volley and tennis. We're gonna go back and
forth because as I say something, you're gonna be like, oh,
that's a great point, and then you say something.

Speaker 5 (25:28):
So Rob, Robert Griffin. The third a couple of things
I'm looking at. Rob.

Speaker 1 (25:32):
You've been you and I both know you're you longer
because you've been doing this longer and you've been more
on the journalistic side. But you know that I know people,
I know you know people, and you know this from
a journalistic standpoint, you don't have to share everything. Some
things you just hey, you get it, you say, all right, cool,
appreciate that you don't have to say anything. And this
is what I'm starting to see is happening Rob. With

(25:54):
a lot of ex athletes who are now trying to
get into the journalistic side of things. They they're they're
they're feeling like, oh, let me prove how much of
a journalist I am. And to me, sometimes they're shooting
themselves in the foot. So for him to go, oh,
I'm so much of a journalists. I know her inside.
They don't like her. She doesn't like her, and it's like,
what does she have to like her? Like, as long
as there's nothing crazy and then per like they're they're competing.

Speaker 5 (26:16):
What's the issue that?

Speaker 9 (26:18):
Like?

Speaker 5 (26:18):
What do you know?

Speaker 1 (26:19):
What?

Speaker 6 (26:19):
Kelvin? Real quick, I want to say this piggyback, who
was the guy robbed you? You might remember it?

Speaker 7 (26:25):
You remember that he'd make uh KD at a Christmas
party and off the cuff comment and he put it
out in public.

Speaker 6 (26:32):
You remember that. It's a couple of years ago. I
remember like it was like a private conversation.

Speaker 3 (26:38):
Yeah, is that Michael did that?

Speaker 5 (26:40):
No?

Speaker 6 (26:41):
No, no, no no? Was it? Jason Williams on ESPN Do.

Speaker 5 (26:47):
You remember that? I do remember the story? We have to.
I want to try to get you.

Speaker 6 (26:51):
Look it up, robbed you look it up?

Speaker 5 (26:53):
But you get what I mean? Rob You know?

Speaker 1 (26:54):
Okay, so somebody allegedly told you, you said, but what
is it? Ooh they told me she don't like her?
Oh okay, So then you couple that with what you
just mentioned. You retweet something that only had like some
of the spot that only has like thirty five followers.

Speaker 5 (27:08):
Some trolling little thing.

Speaker 1 (27:10):
And now you get there for the minions who don't
like injuries, not for basketball reasons, but for racist reasons.

Speaker 5 (27:16):
You've given them fuel to add to the fire.

Speaker 1 (27:19):
So you made a nothing thing a something thing, and
that's what's disappointing there. And he continues to jump in
these things and to me add things that weren't necessary,
And to the point of, why can't Angel Reees just
simply be on the NBA two K cover and that
be that? Why does it have to be well, kayln
Clark should have been. Do you know how many people
are NBA covers? NBA players as well that necessarily weren't winners.

(27:42):
Luca ain't one nothing, Devin Booker a one nothing, Damian
Lillard ain't won nothing, Carmelo didn't win anything.

Speaker 5 (27:49):
And there's a bunch of people meeting.

Speaker 1 (27:50):
Auries is having a great little season for her right now,
the last handful of games, she's averaging.

Speaker 5 (27:55):
Nineteen and fifteen.

Speaker 1 (27:57):
She's playing well, So like, why does it have to
be what she's doing tied to injuries? He's too he
should be too adult for that to be playing that game.
So I think that's the crazy part for me when
I look into this. It's him. Oh I heard she
doesn't like her, and that's like pett that's like Petty's stuff.

Speaker 5 (28:15):
And I think that again, that's what you get some
of these.

Speaker 1 (28:17):
Guys who are jumping into the journalistic world trying to prove,
oh I'm breaking stuff like okay, but you don't have
to say everything. Some things can just be somebody just Rob.
You know, yo, Rob, you're sitting in the club. I
was back in Kansas City. Man, that dude, I can't
stand him. And you said, oh right, I just don't
like Hi because of blah bah all right, cool, Like
you didn't have to go make a headline out of him.

Speaker 6 (28:36):
No, no, no, And.

Speaker 7 (28:38):
That was it was Jay will rob g. Do you
have the details? Wasn't it at some party or he
ran in to Kevin duran He went on earth.

Speaker 4 (28:45):
Yeah, he said that they had a story where they
had a Christmas party confrontation about a comparison to Honis
And then Kevin Durant called that and f and L.

Speaker 5 (28:56):
Yeah, it's just you don't you get conversations people. You
don't have. Everything's not a thing.

Speaker 1 (29:01):
And again and he goes on here and then he
does like a whole, even though you were disrespected to
my family.

Speaker 5 (29:08):
I know he said, I'm quoting him here.

Speaker 1 (29:09):
I never attacked her or her family when I stated
and backed up with clear basketball evidence that Angel Rees
hates Caitlyn Clark like what, First of all, you're talking
about the just why are you bringing up how her
emotions about somebody else? Then he goes on people in
her inner circle called me and told me I was right.

Speaker 5 (29:25):
Her mom jumps out and said, you were wrong. I'm
just disappointed.

Speaker 1 (29:28):
And somebody again mentions the fact that this is a
page at thirty five followers, you with your two million
followers here, you are putting this out there and now crying.

Speaker 5 (29:35):
Storm that was not a storm. RG three, RG Please
what I'm about to tucle? RG? Please relax, RG, Please
put the phone down. RG.

Speaker 2 (29:45):
Please.

Speaker 5 (29:45):
At times it's okay to just mind your own business.

Speaker 7 (29:48):
And sometime when my phone is buzzing and people are like, uh, you,
I'm not.

Speaker 6 (29:53):
I'm dead serious.

Speaker 7 (29:54):
Now when I'm trending, I already know and we had
some hot takes and whatever.

Speaker 6 (29:58):
Not for a minute, did I I think it was
one of the takes.

Speaker 1 (30:01):
You knew what it listen did at some point Rob,
we'll talk off the air.

Speaker 5 (30:06):
I got some money on it.

Speaker 1 (30:07):
We might as well make some shirts to say Rob
was right and people will know what they're talking about.
Just say Rob Parker was right and people will know
what that was referring to. But I just I guess
that's what I'm just disappointed, is that he's not allowing
Like my last point, real quick, Angel Reese is having
a cool moment. She's playing really well right now. She's

(30:29):
breaking records as far as most reconsecutive games of fifteen
rebounds of more, and she's on the NBA two K
cover and her shoe just dropped.

Speaker 5 (30:37):
Rob.

Speaker 1 (30:38):
And instead of having this, you know, while having a good,
you know, good moment, good little season right now in
my life, here he comes adding this rand Oh, she
hates her, she hates her and tying everything about my
life to her. Part of the reasons she might not
like him is because everything I do is subsequently tied
to her.
