XM channel eighty three. Wow, say my name, Rob Parker,
Say it again, Rob Parker, say his name, Robert Giana
Say it again. Oh, Rob g There you go. Take it.
And we are indeed the couple. Rob Parker and Rob

(01:16):
g in for kelvin Washington as we speak. And don't
forget you'll need our telephone number because we are, with
our question, the most listener friendly national sports talk radio
show on the planet, at least when people are awake.

(01:37):
We have to sorry about that. Write it down committed
to memory eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox eight
seven seven nine What is It? Eight seven seven nine
nine six sixty three sixty nine. And always remember when
you do call into the radio show, you have to

(01:58):
always remember to turn your radio.

Speaker 3 (02:00):
Down except for one thing. You forgot to turn down
the radio.

Speaker 1 (02:04):
That's right. And if you don't, we won't let you
come back. That's right. There you go, All right, let's go.
We got a big show, and let me welcome in.
What am I doing? And I always remember, Rob G,
you got me.

Speaker 3 (02:17):
All was filmed in front of a live audio, no doubt.

Speaker 4 (02:22):
You go.

Speaker 1 (02:23):
Now we can go, big show. Let me welcome in
Rob G. Who's gonna fill in for Kelvin? We're not
sure that's right. If he's until further notice, he might
be able to join us at some point, but right now, yes,
it's two robs, Rob G and Rob Parker. Rob G,

(02:45):
what's happened? How are you?

Speaker 5 (02:46):
I'm doing all right? I'm a little upset, to be
quite honest with you, Rob. Not just that Kelvin you know,
threw me into the ocean without a life, fast about
facing it for the show started, That's one thing, Yes,
But I'm really, really really ticked off at Travis Kelsey
right now, are you yes? Because he knows that this
is a very popular show. He knows that America tunes

(03:08):
in every night seven pm Eastern to listen to the
golden tones of Rob Parker and that glorious New York accent,
and he decided, I'm gonna drop this Taylor Swift podcast
at seven pm Eastern. Rob, We're huge in the Swifty community.
To split up our audience like that, I think we'll.

Speaker 1 (03:27):
Be just frawless and immature, just fine, And the people
who want to hear the Odd Couple will listen, and
the other people want to hear that. That's why I
enjoy it. Okay, we'll miss that. It fell personal to me. Nah,
it's all good. All right, Let's welcome into the Odd
Couple crew. Because we wouldn't be able to do this
farm radio program without him. We don't have to say
you because you're here, that's right, Rob G filling in

(03:51):
of course, Alex is our engineer. Shay the official Odd
Couple side piece. That's right, Shae is here, uh, filling
in for Rob G. Right sort of. I'll show you
here the whole night. I'll be here until Covin's back, okay,
and Manzi is at the anchor desk. We keep Blano,

(04:13):
she'll keep us updated. And of course, uh Elijah with it. Well,
we gotta we gotta hear from him, because he's sitting
in the room with us today, right Elijah, there you go.

Speaker 5 (04:25):
I mean, in all fairness, he's sitting in the corner.
No he is, he's not even facing.

Speaker 1 (04:28):
But he's got he's got work to do. Let me see,
he doesn't have a dunce cap on, it's all. He's
not in the corner for any reason. But Elijah, you're good,
all right. You're gonna have some fun, exciting radio to
do now, and you know, pump up those social media
stuff and numbers and all that will be good. That's

(04:49):
right now.

Speaker 5 (04:50):
I mentioned Travis kelcey tongue in cheek only a little bit.
I met half of what I said. But that's not
the only reason he's in the news, Rob because in
addition to this Tailor's swift album rollout that he's.

Speaker 1 (05:01):
A part for whatever reason here.

Speaker 5 (05:03):
On Wednesday, he also did a in depth feature with
GQ magazine, and in it he discussed why he had
what is inarguably the worst season of an NFL career
last year since his rookie year. His eight hundred and
twenty three receiving yards three touchdowns in twenty twenty four

(05:24):
lowest since his rookie season when he only played one game.
So it just tells you how bad it was for Kelsey.
And in the article with GQ, Kelsey explained the fall off.
Here's what he said.

Speaker 1 (05:37):
Quote.

Speaker 5 (05:38):
I think it might have slipped a little bit because
I did have a little bit more focus in trying
to set myself up. Opportunities came up where I was
excited to venture into a new world of acting, being
an entertainer. I don't say this as I should have
done it. I'm saying it that my work ethic is
such that I have so much pride in how I
do things that I never want the product to fall off,
and I feel like these past two years haven't in

(06:00):
too my standard.

Speaker 1 (06:02):
Well, thanks for joining the party, Travis Kelcey, because we
already knew that you're not telling us anything new. He
just said it out loud. Everybody else has been saying it.
Travis Kelcey, is this on do us a favor? How
about just retire now, don't even go into the season,

(06:22):
because what we saw from you last year was shameful.
It was nothing worse than that play that you've been
seeing all over the internet right on social media from
the Super Bowl. Patrick Mahomes running for his life, trying
to figure something out, and there's Travis Kelcey in the
middle of the field County attendance. That's what he was doing.

(06:47):
Can you run open? Can you try to help your
quarterback out? We get it. You got a big time girlfriend, yes,
we understand. Go on tour with her, be a roadie
because your career has eroded. Uh. Last year was awful.

(07:10):
Rob g three touchdowns, awful and everybody saw it. He's
not into it. He's not the same guy. And it's
not just age. I get it, and he's older. This
is focus. When everybody talks about, oh, well, you gotta
have a high profile girlfriend or everybody has a girlfriend

(07:31):
or a wife or a significant other or whatever it is.
So you have to work, be able to balance work
and personal right and most people get to do it.
Kelsey has a mega girlfriend, like like the one of
the biggest on the planet, and it's obvious his focus

(07:53):
shifted towards her Kelsey. Do us a favor. We already know,
we saw it. Do we need to see this again?
Nobody wants to see it. You're not winning the Super Bowl.
You're not not with you playing that way, not with

(08:16):
Patrick Mahomes playing the way he's played the last two years. Yeah,
your luck is gonna run out. Do us a favor,
spend time with your girlfriend and give us football fans
a break. Just retire. How's that? Rob? I only got

(08:39):
two words for you.

Speaker 5 (08:41):
You're right hard think I ever would have said that
in all my years working with Rob Parker almost fell
over because I was expecting. So you're focused on last season, rightfully.
So last season was terrible, and that optics in that
Super Bowl.

Speaker 1 (08:55):
Go watch the video. If you didn't see it, go
watch it.

Speaker 5 (08:57):
It's not quite as bad as the hamp Newton fumble,
but it's close.

Speaker 1 (09:02):
He didn't do anything, not doing anything like you try.
You see your quarterback scrambler. You're trying to run yourself
open so that he has an out lock anything. And
he's stating there watching all the commotion around him. Now,
you mentioned last year it was bad since twenty twenty two,
so this is now the last two seasons. His yards
on a season are down by almost five hundred yards

(09:23):
from twenty twenty two to twenty twenty four.

Speaker 5 (09:25):
His touchdowns twelve and twenty twenty two three in twenty
twenty four. This is not just a one year issue
where he's worried about the Happy Gilmour movie or the
FX show that he's working on, or even his podcast
that he's trying to drop during the Odd.

Speaker 1 (09:42):
Couple, which was terrible by him.

Speaker 5 (09:44):
This has been an ongoing situation for two years now,
and it reached the boiling point before the super Bowl,
when the entire NFL world was convinced this is going
to be Travis Kelse's last game, right, He's going to retire.
There was an open seat amongst everybody who covers the
team and all the national pundits as well, so much

(10:05):
so that you had guys like Rashid Rice say after
the fact, Yeah, no, I convinced him to not retire.
I convinced him that he couldn't go out like that.
You know that he had to come back for one
more year. And you said this before about plenty of athletes.
The minute retirement creeps into your brain, that's it.

Speaker 1 (10:24):
You're done. You're already once you even entertain it, you're done.
Because when you're playing, and if you feel like that,
you're not even bringing that up for real. Once you
start that, you already know deep down your heart's not
in it. And that's what it feels, exactly.

Speaker 5 (10:41):
And just for context, there are two NFL players who
are probably the most two famous NFL players who have
retired and unretired and come back now base on. I'm
gonna say with Kelsey, because Kelsey, by all accounts, was
about to retire. They got blown out like that. He
got embarrassed. He at that viral moment. Then he, you know,
in my words, unretired so to speak. Tom Brady twenty

(11:03):
twenty one retires after the season. Unretires after forty games
or forty days. Right year to year, his passing yards
went down by seven hundred of next season, right his
passer rating went down by twelve points. The Tapaway Buccaneers
went from thirteen and four to eight and nine in

(11:26):
one season. And here's the most egregious example. Brett Favre,
who has flirted with retirement multiple times, but he actually
retired twice. Okay, two thousand and seven, he retires after
the year with the Packers. Unretires to good himself with
the Jets. Year over year, passing yards down by seven hundred,

(11:49):
interceptions go up from fifteen to twenty two. He goes
from thirteen and three in Green Bay to nine and
seven with the Jets. Then the last one he contemplates
retirement after that miracle run with Minnesota's the NFC Championship game.
He gets hurt, right, and that's a big old thing.
The bounty gate scandal was a real thing.

Speaker 1 (12:08):
That year. He was great.

Speaker 5 (12:09):
He was twelve and four, fourty hundred yards, thirty three touchdowns,
seven picks, the highest passer rating of his career that season.
That's a three time MVP. That's how good he was
in Minnesota. They convinced him, Hey, we were right there, Brett.
He got to come back. You gotta come back one
more season. He came back, comes back one more season,
five and eight. He throws for twenty five hundred yards,

(12:31):
seventeen hundred less than the year before, which is about
seventy yards a game less.

Speaker 1 (12:35):
And I know we have way more than seven interception.

Speaker 5 (12:37):
Touchdowns eleven interceptions nineteen a passer rating of sixty nine,
the worst.

Speaker 1 (12:43):
Of his career.

Speaker 5 (12:44):
He went from the best season of his career to
the worst in his career, all because his ego wouldn't
allow him to do what his hard had been telling
him for a year now.

Speaker 1 (12:53):
And that's where we are with Travis Kelce. It's obvious
from the idea that you say you weren't as focused.
You got your hands and way too many things. The
focus should be. You're a young man, You're gonna have
time here. Those things aren't going anywhere, right, They're not
going anywhere. Focus in on playing football, and you didn't
do that for the last two years. Why would we

(13:15):
believe that this year will be any different? All right?
We want to hear from you eight seven seven ninety
nine on Fox. So you're buying Travis Kelsey's idea that
he'll be all right this year, because I ain't buying it?
Or does he just need to shut it down and
go home. I'm with that. It's time for him to
call of the day, go be a roadie with the
Taylor Swift and hang out in the concerts and eat

(13:37):
cold food or whatever they do. But he needs to
stop playing football. I'm all for it. Eight seven seven
ninety nine on Fox eight seven, seven, nine, nine, six,
sixty three sixty nine. It is The Odd Couple. On
a Worship Wednesday, Rob Parker, Rob Garrer, better known as
Rob G right here on Fox Sports Radio in for Kelvin.

went to a restaurant to I had lunch with a buddy,

(16:11):
Thanks for the things, right, Rob, you were busy, you
got a family, don't have time for all that. I'd
like lunch. We'll do that in October, so real quick,
I wanted to add it's a fish place, so I
wanted to add a shrimp scure to my order. You

(16:34):
got me sure, So I ordered the tilapia, ordered the
stuff right, ordered my buddies meal. I treated them today
or the whole nine yard. So we had two entrees,
two drinks all that. After I ate my tilapia and
I ate myself, I was like, I'm still a little hungry,
you know, like I still was said, let me add
a shrimp. I go up to pay. They want to

(16:57):
charge me full price, I said, But with an entree,
it's supposed to be three ninety nine. Without an entree,
it's five ninety nine. I said, I just here's my receipt.
I just bought two entres. Well, you have to order
it at the time that you you know, the side

(17:20):
shrimp skeuer has to be ordered. I'm like, what does it?
Why does it have to be ordered? Then you know
I just bought it. Well, we can't do anything with
the price. I never heard of a restaurant. Can't do
it where you can't change the price, robbed G. If
you want to go in, right, you called, I said,
where's the manager? I did? I was Rob Karen. I
of course called for the manager. This is why you're
not invited. It up there a looker anymore? Right, I'm like,

(17:43):
where's the manager? That's that's what that's my go to.
Where's the manager? I said, I just bought two entrees.
Why in the world can I have a shrimp scuer
for three ninety nine. I'm not paying five ninety nine
for the same shrimp scure that should be three ninety
nine because I bought an entre. That's what it's well,
but you gotta buy them at the same time, it
doesn't say that in the advertisement. They would not give

(18:06):
me the shrimp scure for the wow. So you know what,
I'm not going there again. Where are You're not going? Rob?
This fish place named after this fine state. I'm just saying,
I know what you're talking. Okay, let's hope they don't
be come a sponsor. Am I crazy though? No, Alex
in my crazy business? That is think that is bet

(18:30):
Rob G. If you're the manager, you go she should
have just said, no problem you, We'll bring up a
miscellaneous here's three ninety nine four dollars or whatever tax
here you go make me. I just I just spend
money on lunch. I just bought lunch. Why don't you.

Speaker 7 (18:46):
Say it was just next time? Just make sure you
know it's a thank you, thank you easy.

Speaker 1 (18:50):
That's all right. And instead she has a customer now
who doesn't want to go back there because they wouldn't
give me my shrimp scure for three ninety nine. That's terrible. Okay,
they should be ashamed of themselves. It's just good business.
Alice just said the same thing, like like, it's so
easy to correct it.

Speaker 7 (19:11):
Rop think about it. That little act would have made
you go back.

Speaker 1 (19:14):
I would have told I'll be telling a different story
right now, right at the fish grill that's named after
the state. I'm just saying, are we in the state, Yeah,
we're in the stack.

Speaker 5 (19:24):
Well we're a nationwide we don't know what state it is, yes, okay,
all right, I'll rob g the New Hampshire fish Grill.

Speaker 1 (19:30):
Let's talk about Bill Belichick. College football is right around
the corner, and uh, what are people talking about? Bill?

Speaker 5 (19:37):
Well, everybody's been talking about Bill. He's been the talkable
person now for months, between his girlfriend and his buyout
and everything under the sun there in New North Carolina.

Speaker 1 (19:46):
You really call a girlfriend or is that like a galpal?
What I mean, is that a girlfriend? His dependent? You
think he claims are the taxes? I just think it. No,
I just think it's transactional. Let's just be honest. What
if he likes her Rob? He probably does, But does
she like him? Okay, so I understand that he.

Speaker 7 (20:06):
Likes her Rob, he didn't have rings, money, et cetera.

Speaker 1 (20:11):
Do you think she cares that he has Super Bowl rings? Yes?
Or do you think status money and status status?

Speaker 5 (20:17):
I was gonna say if if she is the way
she's been, she was already with an old guy before
all the boyfriend.

Speaker 1 (20:22):
I like old people to Rob. Yeah, but you're not.
I wonder why does that make me a scandalous individual?

Speaker 4 (20:30):
Guy?

Speaker 1 (20:32):
You're married with kids. My wife is younger than me. Yes, son,
your wife likes old people. I wanted to die my beer.
She said no. She says she wanted to look seasoned.
There you go.

Speaker 5 (20:43):
But in any event, everyone's talking about Bill Belichick, including
Tom Brady.

Speaker 1 (20:46):
He was on the Joe.

Speaker 5 (20:47):
Clap podcast talking about his expectations for Belichick in year
one with the tar Heeelicks.

Speaker 8 (20:53):
What they're gonna get is obviously the most prepared, the
most hard working coach I'd ever been around. If you
go to that school, you will be prepared to play
at the next level. He's going to teach you the
right fundamentals, the right techniques. He's going to have a
high expectation for you, and you're going to develop a lot.

Speaker 1 (21:13):
That's what I know.

Speaker 8 (21:14):
He is so smart with how he approaches defensive schemes
and offensive schemes and how much can these young kids retain.

Speaker 1 (21:23):
Yeah, okay, I'm not buying it, Tom Brady, thank you.
I'm convinced that Bill Belichick's ten yere at UNC will
blow up in his face. This will go down as
one of the worst decisions ever made. And I still
don't understand it unless this is strictly about his son

(21:43):
getting a job and setting him up because he had
a chance to get a job in the NFL and
become the all time winning his coach, and instead he
chose to go to U n See not to coach
basketball there. It's not exactly a football school. Rob g AM.
I wrong. It's not a football school. You're going there

(22:04):
to do what. You're not winning any national championship, Bill Belichick,
your championship winning is over. You're going there to waste time.
That's what you're going to do. And you've turned into
a distraction and a side show with the young girlfriend

(22:25):
and all the other stuff that goes with it. This
is the Bill Belichick who we who didn't say anything.
It was all about business, Why about working and right,
not being a distraction and being focused on it. This
is the same guy now, Rob g I don't know
who this is. And the other thing is that girlfriend

(22:48):
on campus. Do you think some of those players are
not going to try to get at her? Seriously, this
will be a disaster. I'm convinced more than ever this
will be bad. And Bill Belichick people will say, what

(23:09):
was he thinking? You know when people hit this, I
should have had a V eight. I shouldn't have gone
to UNC. That's what he's gonna hit his head. I
shouldn't have gone to the UNC. What was I thinking?
Have your girl toy or whatever it is. Coach in
the NFL try to get Don Shuler's record. That's what
your waning year should have been winning football games. Whatever.

(23:33):
Going to teach kids at a non football school in
college with a college girlfriend makes no sense.

Speaker 5 (23:44):
Rob, you are so right you can't turn left. I
can't believe I'm bringing with you twice now in the
same show. I feel like I take a shower after this, Rob.

Speaker 1 (23:52):
You salling Mike's wife begun.

Speaker 5 (23:55):
The ACC preseason poll pick North Carolina to finish eighth
in the Conference of among seventeen teams.

Speaker 1 (24:04):
Very nice. The Coach's Poll.

Speaker 5 (24:06):
The AP poll both came out in the last week
and a half or so. Not only were the Tar
Heels unranked, they did not receive any votes in either poll. Okay,
Bill Belichick is expecting this comeback to be like Robert
Downey Junior. It's like, hey, Robert Downey Junior was a

(24:26):
big time star in the eighties, had some personal issues.
We thought it was over, We thought it was done,
we thought he was in retirement. Boom, iron Man comes out.
He's a superhero now and he's gonna be the highest
paid actor in Hollywood in about a year or so
with his new.

Speaker 1 (24:41):
Movie coming out.

Speaker 5 (24:43):
Instead, he's gonna be more like Charlie Sheen Charlie Sheen.
At one point, with two and a half men, was
the highest paid actor on television. He leaves the show
tries to come back with a show called Anger Management.

Speaker 9 (24:57):
Rob.

Speaker 1 (24:58):
I know you've never heard of it. No I did,
Actually I remember I didn't watch it back.

Speaker 5 (25:01):
Get here, complete flop. That's what's gonna happen to Bill Belichick,
You're right. He was at the top of his game
throwing fastballs. He has a slip up there at the
end in New England where he tries to bite off
more than he can chew be the GM and the
head coach. He loses Tom Brady and it kind of
fizzles out. And rather than ride off into the sunset

(25:24):
with his young girlfriend and his super yacht that he
has seven rings or whatever it's called, living the high
life as a Hall of Fame coach, arguably the greatest
coach in NFL history, he wants to try his hand
at college football. And if you don't believe me, you
don't believe Rob Parker. Do you believe Vegas? Because according
to bet MGM earlier this summer, North Carolina over under

(25:46):
seven and a half point wins on the season. The
under was getting sixty eight percent of the bets sixty
seven percent of the money on North Carolina under seven
and a half.

Speaker 1 (25:59):
By fall are the most made bet in college. Everybody
knows that that that this is going to be a disaster.
That's what I think it could be. Wind up being
a disaster. I think it will be a disaster. People
will question why he took that job. None of it
makes any sense to me. Again, I think it's a
nepotism angle, right, because he got his cronies and his

(26:20):
friends all jobs, right, and his son with a chance
to take over after he's done coaching waiting? Yeah, what
else could it be? It can't be anything else? Yep.

Lights Out Extreme Fighting Lights Out Extreme Fighting. So we'll
do that as coming up and last call Rob g
in case someone wants to get in and they couldn't
get in at any other point during the show. How
you doing your holding out? All right, I'm doing it.

(28:54):
I'm a little upset with Ricky and the imaging staff
back then. Why is that?

Speaker 5 (28:57):
Because I mean, if I got twenty minutes notice that
I was going to host the show because Kelvin had
some issues there at the house with the internet service. Yes,
they had at least fifteen minutes, and all was doing
it and.

Speaker 1 (29:10):
Oh, you wanted your name on it.

Speaker 5 (29:11):
I wanted my name on the intro. And when your
name has never been on that, I think once, so
it has been. I think, yeah, so I know it exists.
They could have just played it. But in the intro
it says, can this sports writer and this sports fan
co exist? Rob, I'll have you know I'm an award
winning high school newspaper.

Speaker 10 (29:28):
Right.

Speaker 1 (29:28):
Oh is that right? Is not on the you know
marquee like yours?

Speaker 5 (29:33):
They didn't name They did name the box after me,
but I did win a local award, so I feel like.

Speaker 1 (29:38):
If so fact though, I could have got mentioned. So
you were like you did you ever think about being
a writer or no? What was your like when you
were in high school? Well? I know you played high
school football? Not well, but I'm not well, team captain
of a two and eighteen right, Okay, that's sorry, but
you were on the team. Was on the team. Yes,
how much did you have to pay? You?

Speaker 2 (29:57):
You?

Speaker 1 (29:57):
I knew a guy who knew a guy guy? So
then what did you when you were in high school?
Because obviously you know my path. When I was in
high school, I wanted this is what I wanted to
do as a sports writer? Sure, what did you want
to do when you're in high school?

Speaker 5 (30:12):
I knew I wanted to be in sports, and that's
something that you know, since I was like six seven
years old. That was one thing me and my dad
would bond over because he worked a lot of crazy
hout I told you about how he worked, and.

Speaker 1 (30:22):
He worked at the coliseum here in La.

Speaker 5 (30:24):
He worked at the LA Sports Arena when it was
popping back in the day with the clips.

Speaker 1 (30:27):
Then he played basketball with Prince, or he watched him.
You know, he watched him. He set up the court
so that he could play and che he could play right,
and they say he can choot Bosco.

Speaker 5 (30:34):
So yeah, so he had some crazy stories about stuff
like that. But you know when he was in the
High Hills walk up the floor at the LA Sports,
he didn't say that, but he said it was wild
to see him say, hey, I need the arena lights on,
not the practice lights so he can get his jump
shots in.

Speaker 1 (30:49):
Once he was done, you know, by himself.

Speaker 5 (30:51):
Walks out, goes to the side where they have his entrance,
and his entrance for the concert was a coffin. So
he shot the ball, put it down on the rack,
walked over to the coffin, laid down, was rolled onto
the stage and there was a Prince concert.

Speaker 1 (31:05):
You know what's crazy. I had the same exact thing happened,
not that with Lil Wayne. Little Wayne did a concert
in Michigan. And this is when he used to be
on first take. When I was like, this is years
and years ago, and he invited me, gave me backstage.
I went by myself. I just I just went and
I went to his trailer and all that. We talked

(31:27):
all the way up, Rob G. We come out of
the trailer, walked to the back of the stage. He's
talking to me the whole time, this, that and the
other thing, and he goes, all right, I gotta go
to work. And I said, all right, awesome, thanks whatever.
DAPs me up. Walked straight out. The curtains open up.

(31:48):
I can see it from where I was. Do you
know what, I gotta go to work. It though he
meant like a cross town or something like that, he
literally like, well like dap me up, turned around, went
grabbed the mic and was on stage. I put on
a crazy perfore he sure did. That was awesome.

Speaker 5 (32:02):
So can you imagine me that good at something like
you know, Prince shooting baskets, going on stage, Little Wayne
talking sports to you for fifteen twenty minutes.

Speaker 1 (32:11):
Going on stage. Do you think Rob you could be.

Speaker 5 (32:13):
At your best to host this radio show if you
walked in talking to Shay about you know, this new
woman that he's not dating, right, and then as soon
as you walk into the studio, turn on the microphone
and you're ready to go. Do you need at least
some time to yourself to get your thought I think.

Speaker 1 (32:30):
I think for the most part, when I'm ready, you
know me, when when it's show time, I'm ready to go.
I'm always ready to go, unless somebody really pisses me
off and makes me feel like I need to do
something else. I just say it a you know, I
get right. Alice's been around me for eight or nine
years at the time. Right, I'm an easy going guy.
But when you cross me, I'm not.

Speaker 7 (32:51):
Oh, it's over.

Speaker 1 (32:52):
I have a whole rolodex of people that we can't
get on the show.

Speaker 7 (32:55):
Why rock because they crossed me. Your spirit animal is
an elephant, because you never forget. I never don't cross me.
Rob g By the way too soon?

Speaker 1 (33:03):
It was too soon, too soon? You alright, now you
brought it up. See you brought it up a second time.

Speaker 10 (33:11):
All right, disrespect Rihanna, not Shay. Okay, let's go here.
Rob g Yes, give us the Chador Sanders news. Because
he didn't practice today for reasons.

Speaker 1 (33:22):
Yeah, it's not looking good. After that, we'll call it impressive.
Performance was good.

Speaker 5 (33:30):
Touchdowns, no pitch, didn't move up the depth chart. He
was fourth, So we thought, hey, this is a big
week for Shador.

Speaker 1 (33:37):
This is gonna be to start again.

Speaker 5 (33:38):
Yep, to separate himself from the pack a little bit.
He played good on Saturday, maybe he'll play good again
this weekend, and unfortunately he goes down on Wednesday with
an oblique injury. He's gonna get an MRI here the
next day or two, and Kevin Stefanski, cocording to multiple reports,
has already suggested that not only should do or not

(34:00):
start this upcoming preseason game, there's a good chance it's
very highly unlikely that he even plays.

Speaker 1 (34:09):
And with that news, I'm even more convinced than I
was before that he won't make the team and he'll
get cut. This hurts him more than anybody, like the
other guys will hurt I really do because when you're
four string and now we're not going to see you,
you know what I mean this week coming up and

(34:29):
you didn't move up. You did pretty well, right were
you used the word impressed? I say, he was very
good And it wasn't like, oh my god, we didn't
know are we what are we doing? Yes, he should
be here, he should be doing this. Let's move him up.
He's definitely made the team that No, he didn't make
the team off that game. He didn't move up the
depth chart from that game. And I still I'm looking

(34:50):
at just the way that the NFL does his business,
which is normally fourth string quarterbacks don't make the roster.
Had nothing to do with Shador. I would ask anybody
give me the four string court, and and didn't they
move up for Dylan right the third pick like they

(35:10):
they wanted him. So I'm just asking myself, how does
this figure in? How does this work? I know I'm
the lone wolf out here. Everybody's got Chador starting by
game three. By week three, Rob g gonna be a
uh selling the most jerseys in the NFL. Whatever you
want to talk about. Tim Tebow sold a lot of

(35:32):
jerseys too. Guess what couldn't play, Rob, He couldn't play,
did he not? Did he not have ridiculous buzz? He
had beyond ridiculous buzz, ridiculous buzz, sold jerseys. Everybody was
Tim tebau Mania. It's gotta be a is here a
thirty for thirty yet? I mean seriously, during that time,

(35:53):
it was outrageous. Yeah, Rob, again, this has got to
be a first for the odd couple. I agree with
you on.

Speaker 5 (36:02):
This situation has been percolating now for a few weeks.
The Cleveland Browns are telling you without telling you, yes,
that Shador Sanders is not in the picture. He is
not being seriously considered to be a active roster NFL quarterback
for them. Much has been made leading into last week

(36:24):
about Kenny Pickett and Dylan Gabriel not playing in the
preseason game because they have hamstring. Both of them had surprise,
I don't know both of them get hampstring injuries, but
they both get hastured right and now should has an
old bliek and now he's got a no blague.

Speaker 1 (36:38):
The only one who.

Speaker 5 (36:38):
Actually is healthy is eighty seven year old Joe Flacco,
which we said not going to put out there until
we make that make sense.

Speaker 1 (36:44):
But here's the thing.

Speaker 5 (36:46):
Gabriel and Picket both sat out last weekend's game. What
they didn't do, however, was sit out practice. So that
tells you right there, we don't we value you too
much to risk running you out there in a meaningless
presess the game is meaningless. We're gonna let you practice,

(37:11):
get your reps in with eleven on eleven with the
seven on seven. Don't worry about Saturday. We got chaeduor
to take the snaps and we just signed new punt Lee.
Let those guys put their body on the line.

Speaker 1 (37:22):
Don't worry about it that that I don't know an
even NFL player, Like so many people are so engaged
in this and feel like they have ownership of it.
I've never seen anything like it, Like like the the
the people Lewis Reddick on ESPN had to take back likes.
The whole idea that uh, they were setting him up

(37:44):
to fail is like like and I was surprised to
just hear. I know, he clears clarified and said, I'm
not saying that, but that's what it sounded like, right
like without saying it, I like, oh, this is like
a setup job or whatever. And I just I cannot
disagree more. I do believe teams want to win. If
you're to Cleveland Browns, you don't want to win. You're

(38:06):
the GM, you're the coach, you don't you don't want
to win, rob G. You don't want jobs to cure.

Speaker 5 (38:10):
And that's why they're going with Joe Flacco, right because
we all know Joe Flacco is not the future.

Speaker 1 (38:16):
He's not for Kevin Stefanski. Something can win games now,
Joe Flacco. No one's gonna say, Oh, it's all right, Stefanski,
don't worry about it. You know you're you only won
two games this year and one the next year, and
you're still going to be the coach when this thing
turns on. No, he won't be the coach.

Speaker 5 (38:35):
And this and I hope I'm not putting words in
your mouth, but I think you've said this before. This
is not some kind of indictment on Shador Sanders. This
is the reality of the NFL, of any workplace for
that matter. Joe Flacco is the starter. Presumably not because
he is the future of the franchise because they think

(38:57):
long term he's our guy. It's because because Kevin Stefanski
feels like he could be on the hot seat if
year gives us the best. Because you remember he got
them to the playoffs two years ago and they still
moved off of him. Why not because he wasn't the
best quarterback at that time, but because they invested so
much into Shaun Watson there was no way they can

(39:19):
move off him. That's the reality of the NFL. You
moved down the list. Kenny Pickett. The reason why he's
gonna keep getting chance after chance with them, is because
they gave up a real asset to get him right.

Speaker 1 (39:32):
Otherwise, if you're the GM, you gotta still quote what
did you do there? Exactly? What what are you doing?
You know what I mean?

Speaker 5 (39:39):
Like like seriously, last, but not least, And this is
the one I guess that's the most controversial. Dylan Gabriel
by all accounts, if you're according to the people who
cover the team around the team, all the beat writers around,
there has been the worst quarterback of the bunch. He
just has not been seen the field very well. Just
on Wednesday, he was six for nineteen throwing the football. Okay,

(39:59):
because because they invested a third round pick in him
and a fifth round pick in Shador standers, I guarantee
you they are gonna go ahead and say we're gonna
give Dylan opportunity after opportunity after opportunity and make him
be the reason why we have to keeep Shador. And
unless that happens, you're not keeping four quarterbacks just not

(40:24):
doing it right.

Speaker 1 (40:25):
And I just I'm with you. The third round compared
to the fifth round, it's so much easier to let
your door walk right or let him go or whatever
it is practice squad. I don't know. I'm convinced now
even more now as injury puts them behind. You know,
like this, this is not He would have been better
off getting to play Saturday. And maybe we see a

(40:46):
little bit different right with some other players in there
and some other situations. But now he can't even do
that and time is ticking, all right? Eight seven seven
ninety nine on Fox. By reading too much into this,
you still think Chador are gonna be the starting quarterback
or in week three? Or is this injury good news

(41:07):
for him because now everybody's banged up? Or is it
bad news because he needed more time and effort. Where
are you on Shador Sanders and what the Browns are doing?
Because I know the history of the Browns has been
bad when it comes to quarterbacks, But in this case,
I just don't see the scenario which lends to Shador
being he's not making point blank period, Yes, all right?

(41:32):
Is he not? Rob g says no. I say no,
Maybe you say yes. It is the odd couple on

Talking about Shador Sanders and Rob G and I are
in lockstep with this this. We're more convinced than ever
he's not going to make the fifty three man roster.

Speaker 5 (43:07):
Got we got a lot of calls here, full bank
as usual, Get started quickly.

Speaker 1 (43:11):
Mike is in Dallas. Mike, you're on the akabol Fox
Sports Radio.

Speaker 11 (43:15):
Hey guys, how you doing. Thanks for taking a call.
I'll make it quick. First, we know the history of
the Browns and their quarterback knowledge, if you will, they
don't make great decisions. The historically have not made the
best decisions. But I cannot disagree with you and Rob,
who is known hater?

Speaker 1 (43:35):
Why could you disagree with me?

Speaker 4 (43:37):
Man?

Speaker 1 (43:37):
That doesn't make any sense. You just so much because
we have a different point of opinion that I'm a hater.
It's just ridiculous.

Speaker 11 (43:45):
You're known hater.

Speaker 4 (43:46):
Rob.

Speaker 1 (43:46):
We know this.

Speaker 11 (43:46):
No, let me get to the point real quick, and
I'll make it real quick, real quick.

Speaker 3 (43:51):
Shador who was wildly expected to be expected to be
drafted higher than Dylan Gabriel and now I'm performing him
in and he's still going to get cut.

Speaker 1 (44:02):
Yes, that's the Yes, that's it.

Speaker 5 (44:05):
You got a new It looks like a first time
long time. We got Chris in New Jersey calling in
the christ on.

Speaker 4 (44:13):
The first of all, How in the world not the
first caller?

Speaker 1 (44:19):
Easy?

Speaker 4 (44:19):
You know why before me.

Speaker 1 (44:23):
You know why, Wait a minute, let me tell you why,
because we have a warning for you, and we figured
that this is the reason why here.

Speaker 3 (44:31):
It is exactly for one thing, you forgot to turn
down the radio.

Speaker 1 (44:37):
There you go, you don't call him radio.

Speaker 4 (44:42):
Look, I just had a great New York City. I
get in my car and I hear Rob hating, oh
and Chadure Sanders And sure, I think Kelvin or Ron
g is going to put him in his place? And
you coat, how are.

Speaker 9 (45:01):
We hat him?

Speaker 1 (45:02):
How had the call is h Yeah, he's a four
string quarterback. They're not carrying four quarterbacks? How we hating?

Speaker 4 (45:09):
You're right, he is going to make the team. Here's
the deal. Even though obviously you didn't want him to
get injured. The injury helps him assuming he can come
back next week, and you know, you'll be fine. He
already put the good taste out there. Like the last
time we saw him, he was very good. And if

(45:30):
Dylan Gabriel goes out there against the Eagles, he gonna
be facing a better team.

Speaker 1 (45:35):
He's going there and if he plays better than what
okay say he plays well against a better team and the.

Speaker 4 (45:40):
Eagles because he's been terrible. He was six nineteen.

Speaker 1 (45:44):
Okay, what I'm asking you in the game, if he
plays well, Schardor had his one hundred and thirty yards,
If he has one hundred and forty yards and two
touchdowns and no picks, then then what's the conversation.

Speaker 4 (45:56):
If he plays well, then it will probably keep. I
mean they'll cut. I think they'll trade Kenny Pickett. I
think they're gonna trade Kenny.

Speaker 1 (46:04):
They're not gonna keep two rookie quarterbacks. The backup of
God could.

Speaker 4 (46:07):
Get hurt if Gabriel plays well, but I doubt he
will against the Eagles. He's been bad, as rob Gie said,
he's been bad in the training camp, and he's not
gonna you know, he's gonna be facing game planning, which
they really don't do in the first preseason game, so
he's going in a tougher situation. He's probably gonna look bad,

(46:28):
and that's gonna make that will probably move Shador ahead
of him on the depth chart. So this actually helped
Shaduur because he was so good in his only outing.

Speaker 1 (46:38):
Well, it's funny because he didn't move up the depth
chart after that's so good and.

Speaker 4 (46:41):
You just you just need to You just even said that.

Speaker 1 (46:44):
But you just said it, Chris, that they don't even
plan for the game one. They're just out there playing.
It's like pick up football.

Speaker 4 (46:52):
Right, Well, I wouldn't say pick up football, but you
know what I mean, right, you just said it. The
defenses don't game play, you know, they progress. You know
this game one, game two is a little more sophisticated
than three to four. But he had not had a
lot of reps in practice. So and remember he was

(47:13):
playing at least some of the time against Carolina's starters
with the backups from the Browns, and you got him in.
Those two touchdown passes were pinpoint.

Speaker 1 (47:23):
Yeah, they were good.

Speaker 4 (47:24):
Saying he was perfect because he had a few mistakes,
but he looked good. And look, if Gabriel goes out
there and plays well, robbed, you're right, then you got
a battle for the backup spot. But I think there's
a better chance he goes out there and struggles, and
then that will probably move to do ahead of it.

Speaker 5 (47:41):
Chris, you are entirely too smart to have this kind
of That'd be like if on first things first, because
Daddy park is at he went to the show, if
he comes in and does well, they're gonna say he's
done so well, we're gonna replace.

Speaker 1 (47:57):
So much.

Speaker 4 (47:58):
Chris.

Speaker 1 (47:58):
That is not gonna happen.

Speaker 4 (48:00):
Gabriel. I mean, I've already done my thing. Like it's
there's not I mean, Gabriel's a third round pick.

Speaker 5 (48:11):
Yeah, but they invested too much of it to just
move off him that quickly.

Speaker 4 (48:14):
He didn't invest too much. I mean he's a third reason,
not like he's a first I get it. If he
was a first round pick, then you're really giving him
a legit chance and all that. It's not that much
different in a third and a field. Get it. It's
a little different. But they're not Gabriel. And you said it,
Rob g He hasn't looked good. It's just you have
not Yeah.

Speaker 1 (48:33):
All right, well, Chris, we gotta get you on again.
We'll have you on. We know you're the star. First
things first, that's on FS one. But I do have this.
We got Sean Merriman coming up. But I gotta say this, Chris,
there are people who question the legitimacy of all sources.
That's right of Martin Weiss's wedding Tamurio. Uh, because you

(48:54):
indeed were the officiator of this. Are you ordained in
the state of California. We want to know.

Speaker 4 (49:01):
I am, I said, by the powers invested in me
in this by the State of California. So it is
a legit marriage, Alex told me. And when Alex is ready,
I'm ready, Alex.

Speaker 5 (49:13):
Wow, Chris, Really, it's just gonna take a sizable donation
of the King movement.

Speaker 1 (49:19):
That's why you know what, Alex, all you're gonna do
is bring twelve clean uh uh clean hoodies and then
Chris could put the King there could be donation. Hey, Chris,
thanks for listening. We appreciate you listening and calling them
my man.

Speaker 4 (49:39):
Keep a great word, y'all sound great?

Speaker 1 (49:41):
Thank you, buddy. Chris. There it is Chris Bussar. He
used to be around here for a couple of years,
wasn't he. He used to be his key card. Don't
work no more? No, no, he's done here? Can I
Can I not say rest in peace Christmas or anymore?
Now that we know he is alive, Yes, we know
he's alive. Okay, okay, all right, Hey, come up Sean Merriman,
the former NFL All Pro linebacker. Yeah, we'll talk with

(50:05):
Sean about some football stuff and about his lights out
extreme fighting as well. But first let's get you caught up.
Monte Bolanos is up next. Chris Brossard. Nice to have
him on the show. Yes, you know what? And I
heard the back the feedback because he didn't turn his

(50:26):
radio down. He wanted to hear his cell phone and.

Speaker 5 (50:28):
Brings you want to hear a fun story about Chris
real quick. So he called me about a month and
a half or so ago. He's like, hey, man, real quick,
I'm gonna be out now there are you gonna go
to Martin's wedding? Oh?

Speaker 1 (50:36):
Look at this? And I was like, I mean, I
don't know. I don't know.

Speaker 5 (50:39):
And then he's like, well, it's coming up in a
few weeks, so you probably ain't invited.

Speaker 1 (50:42):
Never mind. I was like, thanks, Chris, appreciate it. You
never you never assumed anything like anything like that.

Speaker 12 (50:50):
So way to go, Chris.

Speaker 1 (50:52):
Nice to hear from you. But you know, you know what,
where was I? I was in the same situation, which
was weird when Lomas Brown had his h surprise sixtieth
birthday party. Lomas Brown Camember that party, right, So I
was doing a show with Rodney Pete okay, filling it

(51:13):
over at the local station in la back in the day,
and we both didn't ask each other if we were
going to the park, you okay, out of respect, I
didn't know if you were going. You know, it had
been awkward. And then we're there at the party together.
I was like, I didn't know that. I don't want

(51:34):
to say anything. I know you were going to go
and CAUs and that's what it was like. We didn't
want to each go Are you going to Lomas's sixty
to talk about? That's funny, that's funny.

Speaker 12 (51:45):
Let me give you some baseball scores of fellas. The
Cubs are on top of the Blue Jays four to one,
bottom of the ninth and mean in Toronto. There was
a rain delay for a while between the Braves and
the Mets in New York, but they are back in
action and it's all met so far.

Speaker 1 (51:57):
Juan Soto hit a two run shot. Pete A.

Speaker 12 (51:59):
Lonso started things off with the two RBI single. Six
zero is the score bottom of the second in New York.
You can catch all the action on FS one. The
Astros have a four to one lead over the Red
Sox top of the ninth in Houston. The Marlins outscored
the Guardians thirteen to four. Jacob Marcy seven rbi in
the win for the Marlins, and the Red shut out
the Phillies eight to zero. Hottest team in baseball still

(52:20):
the Brewers. They've won twelve in a row, defeating the
Pirates twelve to five. The Padres have won five in
a row, crushing the Giants eleven to one.

Speaker 1 (52:26):
They have a half game lead in the NL.

Speaker 12 (52:28):
West over the Dodgers. Dodgers about to start their game
against the Angels in Anaheim. NFL news. Vikings wide receiver
Justin Jefferson still dealing with the hamstring injury out of practice.

Speaker 1 (52:38):
His status is going to be reevaluated next week.

Speaker 12 (52:41):
You can expect Caleb Williams and the Bear starters to
play in their second preseason game against the Bills. Bills
running back James could agree to a four year, forty
eight million dollar extension, and Browns rocky quarterback Shador Sanders
has an oblique injury. He is day to day, won't
practice Thursday, unlikely to play in their second preseason game
on Sunday against the Eagle.

Speaker 13 (53:00):
Back to you guys, thanks months Jess appreciate It is
the couple on a worship Wednesday, Rob Parker and Rob Gera,
better known as Rob G.

Speaker 1 (53:11):
Filling in for kelvin Washington. Let's welcome in former NFL
All Pro linebacker Sean Merriman and also founder of Lights
Out Extreme Fighting. Sean, what's up? Welcome to the odd couple.
Say hello to Rob G.

Speaker 9 (53:26):
Rob G. What's up?

Speaker 1 (53:27):
What's up? Sean? We're doing great, you good man.

Speaker 9 (53:32):
Just cranking away seeing all this news, Man, it got
me doing jumping jack somewhere.

Speaker 1 (53:35):
I was hoping that some of that UFC money fel
your way, Rob G.

Speaker 5 (53:39):
Yeah, before we get to the football, quick question. I
know you're in the fight game. You run your own
fighting company, and you know you're all deep into it.
I was shocked when I saw the news that the
UFC was getting out, basically getting out of the PA
per view business for this seven year, seven billion dollar
deal with CBS in Paramount Plus. I'm based on your tweets,
I'm assuming you think this is a good idea.

Speaker 9 (53:59):
Though it is man and crazy enough, this is a
big win for Paramount. I know people seeing that big
seven plus billion dollar deal, but you gotta think of this, Uh,
UFC is a is a congloment man. Man, they're so global,
Paramounts most of their subscriptions and base is in the US,
so they're going to gain, you know, a big subscription

(54:23):
base internationally. And if you don't, if you guys don't recall, man,
like when when usually left Fox and went to ESPN,
they in one week, I think within one week it
was over seven hundred thousand uh subscribers to ESPN plus
in one week, right, And so you got to think
of the lifetime, lifelong of the customer. Man. But I'll

(54:44):
tell you one thing though, you know that the UFC's
gonna miss is everything you know. ESPN is big. They
got your show, the programming, they got your subscriptions, they're
big internationally, So you're gonna miss out on that part.
But I think this is a big, big win for Paramount.

Speaker 1 (54:58):
Huge quick follow up, rob before you get to it
in the football.

Speaker 5 (55:02):
Do you think, Sean, honestly that the UFC still would
have made this move if they still had one of
those marquee John Jones, Connorugh McGregor guys that are putting
out three four million dollar pay per view guys.

Speaker 9 (55:16):
No, I think I think Ultimately, you know, I keep
saying that pay per views. Pay per views is not dead,
but the subscription model for the lifelong term of the
customer that's going to be there, is gonna over over.
It's gonna you know, it's going to be way over.
Then you can pay for a fifty or sixty dollars
pay per view. Now there's still gonna be some big
events on you know, ESPN is great, man, they got

(55:38):
a lot of stuff, and I think overall, man, for
the lifelong customer of anyone of these subscription based platforms
they're going, it's a big, big win.

Speaker 1 (55:49):
You know.

Speaker 9 (55:49):
UFC, man, I don't think people under saying UFC is
a is a big media company with great fights. That's
how they present it. And so the show the program
and to lead up the build ups to the fights,
the reality shows, they get so much more that Paramount
can tap into. Now it's ridiculous. And you know, having
a fight at the White White White House lawn right

(56:11):
that that they're going to be able to promote, you know,
one of the four to six big events of the year.
It's huge for Paramount.

Speaker 1 (56:18):
Yeah, I don't know about a fight at the White House,
but I guess whatever it takes. But I'm just saying,
you know what.

Speaker 9 (56:25):
Robert, the thing is, you know, in the fight business,
it's all about promotion.

Speaker 1 (56:28):
Yeah I get that. Yeah, Yeah, I'm just saying from
the standpoint of it's just to me, it's like the
wild Wild West. Let's turn the football the chador Sanders. Uh,
just get your take on it. I mean, the thing,
I guess I just can't get over. And it's like
some of the former players and people who are uh

(56:50):
just out there and mel Kiper like blowing a gasket
and they can't believe this and they're setting them up
to fail and all these other conversations football, if you
can play, I just can't believe no one's going to
let you play if you're that guy. But what do
you make of where he is? And I've never seen
so much made of a first game of a preseason?

(57:14):
Am I crazy?

Speaker 9 (57:16):
Yeah? But you gotta you gotta think and what's transpired?
What's the what's the Browns GM? The brown gym is?
And he got a real problem on his hands. Andrew
Barry got a real problem on his hands because he
got a few guys. It's hurt and you know, should
do I think was hurt. He had his shoulder whatever

(57:37):
it was.

Speaker 1 (57:38):
Now, No, he's hurting, that's what it is. He's not
playing on Saturday, so he's hurt.

Speaker 9 (57:44):
But you know what he got the honest guy, don't lie.
You got enough on film to know you can go
out there and get it done. And so right now
what he put on film is enough. I'm not going
to say competing. And actually, matter of fact, I don't
think he should even think about starting the first four
weeks of the season. Sit back and get you some
more reps in I think bout week six, week eight

(58:07):
should do it well. Be the starter. And that's a
good thing because look at the history of all the
guys that had a shot somewhere in the mid middle
of the season. Whoever that start is going to be
initially coming out the gate. Let them go out there,
and I'm not gonna say stink it up, but let
them underperform while you're learning and getting reps behind them.
And you just come in and play a little bit

(58:27):
better to him and show that your ceiling is higher
than that starter. That's all should do. It has to be.
He is a prime and perfect position right now where
he shouldn't rush, He shouldn't make it a big deal
that he's not on the field right now, and he's
exactly where he needs to be. But when he put
a film is more than enough anybody know that he
can start in this league.

Speaker 1 (58:46):
After game one of a preseason, really, like I'm geting,
this is what I'm asking Sean Seriously, no reps with
the first team. I just teams don't carry four quarterbacks
drafted in the fifth round. People. Then Tom Brady didn't
think enough of him to even draft him with the Raiders,
and Tom Brady supposedly his mentor. And I'm not saying

(59:08):
he can't play or there's no place for him, but
I just don't. I don't think that that's where the
Browns are. I really don't, because Rob, Rob.

Speaker 9 (59:16):
I'm with you. I'm not on a hype train either,
like somebody go out to have a big game. It's
like somebody you know dropping a single but their album's
up right, Like you know what I'm saying, I'm not.
I don't follow the hype train. But I've seen enough
for him be able to make elite throws. And I'm
not saying that he gonna go out there and do
it all the time. But he has a capability and

(59:37):
his ceiling is higher. We already seen ticket. We've seen
these you know, we've seen these other Hunty Huntley, right, Yes,
we we've seen these guys already. We know that they
can be really, really solid backups. The only thing we
haven't seen is a ceiling of Shador Sanders. And so
that's all. That's all I'm really saying. I'm not I'm sore.

(59:57):
Gets his hype trained and that's ridiculous. And everybody, you know,
these little clutch for social media go viral. Oh he's
the greatest. Oh I told you he should No, no, no, no, no,
I'm not I'm not with you.

Speaker 1 (01:00:08):
Okay, you know what I'm saying. That's the part that
I can't get to understand. And even people have played
you know what I mean, and and I mean mel Kiper,
they don't drive him. There's something wrong with for football.
I'm like, dude, all the all the quarterbacks you got wrong,
and to go to sit here and tell everybody that
they're wrong. I just thought it was crazy.

Speaker 9 (01:00:28):
Robert Soon does he throws a couple of picks. You're
gonna tell here he's Yeah, he should have gone fifth round.
And then when he goes back and throw two touchdown passes,
I told y'all it's gonna be it's a lot of
back and forth. I don't follow the high Tram. I
follow consistency and what the guy is capable of doing,
and can we see him improved? So yeah, I do.
I would love to see him on the field again

(01:00:49):
and do the same thing and perform again like he
did last time. But what I'm saying is I've seen
enough of elitenists where his feeling is higher than everybody
on that roster.

Speaker 5 (01:00:58):
Right now, all pro Sean Merriman on the couple, Sean
last one for me. We had about thirty or sixty
seconds here. We started the show talking about Travis Kelce
and his Thomas the GQ saying that he lost his
focus the last two years, and we know before the
Super Bowl he was openly thinking about retirement as an athlete.
When you hear a player say something like that, how
confident are you that he's gonna be able to just

(01:01:19):
flip the switch and get back to his previous self
this subcoming.

Speaker 1 (01:01:23):
Season, especially because the last two years or is he
already one? Fed out the doort. He should just retire
as it is.

Speaker 4 (01:01:29):
You know.

Speaker 9 (01:01:29):
So one thing I've always admired about Floyd Mayweather is,
no matter how big a success was, he stayed hungry.
That is so unusual for any athlete, because once you
get to a certain level, this dog, right, this dog
leads out of you a little bit. You've already you know,
you got your family, you got enough money, you get comfortable.
It is hard to go out there and physically throw

(01:01:51):
your body around and compete with somebody out there trying
to make a name for themselves that you just over
time lose the hunger. So any athlete I've ever seen
that have a massive amount accomplishments, a massive amount of money,
and a massive amount of success, it could still go
out there and have that dog eat. I give them
all the credit in the world. So I wasn't I

(01:02:11):
wasn't surprised at all what he said. I mean, look,
you know what, girlfriend is right, So, like you, you
at the point now where he's at the tail end
of anything. But he has to find that that dog
back in him. And it sounds like from that comment
that he lost a little bit, he lost focus, but
he's regaining it. But it's really really hard man, to
get that dog like he used to be where you've

(01:02:33):
had as much success as he's has.

Speaker 1 (01:02:36):
All right, Sean, Always a pleasure, my man. We appreciate you.
Thank you, my man.

Speaker 9 (01:02:40):
