Speaker 2 (00:22):
You're listening to the best of the Odd Couple.
Speaker 3 (00:28):
We saw.
Speaker 1 (00:28):
Like you know, they always say like a tie is
like kissing your sister. I think it's like kissing your
brother in the mouth like a tie. Nowadays talk about
anti climatic and not feeling good about watching a forty
to forty Sunday night football game and not having a winner.
Speaker 3 (00:48):
But pray, tell somebody did win? Who that? And you
know people are like, oh terrible die Jerry Jones.
Speaker 1 (01:00):
And the Dallas Cowboys are the winnow at the end,
the winn Now, that's what I got out of this.
Because Micah came to town with his big bag Green
Bay Packers. The Dallas Cowboys were supposed to disintegrate and
blowing the wind and you know, never be seen again.
(01:20):
Because my god, they let Micah go. They traded this
generational talent. What are you gonna do without Michaeh. Great
players have been traded for since pro sports has been around.
It's no big deal. The Red Sox Oldbabe Ruth and
they still have won championships and they're still around and
they still sell out Fenway Park. Wayne Gretzky was traded.
(01:42):
I could go on and on and on. People have
been moved and they move on. Let's hear Jerry gloating
a little bit after the forty forty TI on Sunday
Night Football.
Speaker 4 (01:54):
It's very simple, right, Dak was in dispenser in my
mind right now, and so yes, and Michael Wison.
Speaker 3 (02:03):
There you go.
Speaker 1 (02:04):
And Jerry, I know a lot of people you know.
I'm not Look, Jerry has watched the Cowboys. I'll be
the first one. I'm not a Jerry being general manager guy.
They haven't won anything since Moby Dick was a guppy
and since Jimmy Johnson and that whole What a disaster.
But in this case, with already paying the two guys
(02:25):
he paid CD and DAG, he had no choice here
and he made the right choice long term for the Cowboys,
and last night was a perfect Micah's back still ain't
right right, didn't really wasn't a real factor. He got
a late sack. I don't know, like, are you celebrating that?
And in his vaunted Packers came to Dallas and what
(02:45):
happened nothing? They got a forty to forty tied with
a bad football team. Nobody's expecting anything from I think
Jerry is the winner.
Speaker 5 (02:54):
Well, first off, I'm gonna show you something about that
that sack you just referred to show you that in
one second.
Speaker 3 (03:02):
Uh to Dallas Cowboys.
Speaker 5 (03:03):
Let me get to this. I heard everything you said.
I can understand it, but you're wrong. And I'm gonna
tell you why. Michael Parsons, everything you just said prior
to last season, what happened Dak was heard? Uh, you
got Micah heard, DeMarcus Lawrence was in and out.
Speaker 3 (03:18):
He wasn't guy the whole year.
Speaker 5 (03:19):
No, no, no, But I'm saying they weren't theirselves the
last time we saw them comprised as themselves, they were
twelve and five, twelve and five, twelve and five. And
I looked at the Dallas Cowboys. We all expected all
things given, especially with CD. You go, man, this offense
should be good because if they haven't been anything else,
at least the offen has been able to move the ball.
Dak Prescott was an MVP candidate a couple of seasons back.
(03:40):
You figure, okay, they can do this. I looked at
it as you can be that and still have Micah.
If they found a way to make it work, right,
that you didn't have to not have Micah. You and
I sat here months ago thinking, oh, he's gonna stay.
He wants to stay, I would say should I'm talking
about well before that, when he was out here talking
(04:00):
about I just want to be here forever. I don't
care about the money. Now, Oh slow down. If i'm
your agent, hold on, let's let's just let me let
me agent, let me work my magic. So you didn't
They didn't have to be without Michael. They could have
found a way to do this. And because the reason
I say that, I look at the the Green Bay Packers.
Speaker 3 (04:18):
I said this about what Micah is.
Speaker 5 (04:20):
He's in a good situation where the Packers made the
postseason last year and the year before, and the Packers
are a good team. He has a chance to He
got paid handsomely to only have to make three to
four plays a game, maybe a sack, maybe two sacks,
maybe a sack, strip fumble, or maybe a tackle four loss.
You just need to come in here and be a
(04:40):
von Miller, you know, a JPP when he's gone to
a few places.
Speaker 3 (04:45):
These types of guys that are specialists, they come.
Speaker 5 (04:47):
Into one sack that No, no, I'm gonna tell you why. Okay,
he showed at the very end. First of all, he
got quadruple team all game. I mean they but credit
is that man?
Speaker 3 (05:00):
No, no, no, I'm.
Speaker 5 (05:01):
Saying credit Dallas's game plan coming in because they had
chip people ready to chip him a receiver, a back
two offensive lineman. They had him locked up in the
sense and he got back there a couple of times,
four quarterback pressures, but he got the big sack that
saved what could have been a loss. Dak Prescott was
about to run in that end zone in the game
(05:22):
they lost. Lost a forty point tie with the Dallas Cowboys.
Is a loss for the ball? Well, no, they literally
could have lost that game, which would be huge in
the record if you're competing with Detroit to see who's
gonna do what Dak Prescott.
Speaker 3 (05:36):
Help is running into the end zone.
Speaker 5 (05:39):
Except for Micah making a play that him and only
three four other guys in tire NFL can make. So
my thing is, Michael Parsons is in Green Bay to
only have to make a handful of plays. He doesn't
have to be a Ray Lewis. They would have fifteen
tackles a sack.
Speaker 1 (05:54):
I think I think the way they paid him was
not to make one play because because it's more about
an You said the last time they were together, they
were last time they were together, they were on a
playoff game in Dallas and gave up a forty five
piece to the Green Bay Packers. Like he was on
the field. You could sit there and act like he
wasn't playing. He played that game and he was a
part of that. And then when the season started they
(06:17):
gave go look it up. They gave up forty plus
points in the first three or four home games. He
was on the field. He was a part of that.
And I'm not saying he's not a good player. I'm
saying you can move on from people. It ain't the
end of the world. Everybody thinks it's the end of
the world when you move on from somebody.
Speaker 3 (06:34):
That's all I'm saying. Jerry got his picks.
Speaker 1 (06:36):
He didn't have to go leverage the farm with three players,
like they're gonna take up fifty percent of the cap,
and then it's harder to put together the rest of
the team. So because he made a mistake with Dak
and CD, he almost had no choice and he finally
did the right thing. We talk about Jerry all the time.
He always bends over backwards at the end. This was
(06:56):
the one time he didn't do it.
Speaker 3 (06:58):
Only this is where we differ. Though.
Speaker 5 (06:59):
To me, I'm looking at it as look at what
you had plus what you could have had. If I
have all of this, plus I have Micah and he's
only what twenty six, we're only gonna get better. I'm
looking at it as what we could have had and
hopefully became twelve and five, twelve and tel twenty five,
we're inching.
Speaker 1 (07:15):
We're getting closer and closer. Maybe this that's why you fire.
Might be the year because they were getting close. I
don't know who they are. They fired, they fired everybody
you're bringing shut. I'm saying no, but you just get
it at.
Speaker 3 (07:25):
Twelve and five, twelve and twenty five and the coach
got fired any.
Speaker 5 (07:28):
But I'm saying, this is what they do. I don't
ever know who. They never fire somebody and bring in
somebody where you go, who look at that they fired
people and then.
Speaker 3 (07:36):
Bring in like, only one time can they hired Bill Parcels.
Speaker 5 (07:39):
That was the only the only that was the one time,
and then they couldn't work because him and Jerry exactly.
And so the only time Jerry got a real coach,
real coach where you're like, I don't I'm not just
gonna list simply yes, sir, okay, whatever you say, and
they let that go. So to me, I just can't
get rid of the best player and I haven't seen
the draft picks might not be.
Speaker 3 (07:57):
Good and I could be great. They could they could
be great.
Speaker 5 (07:59):
I don't don't think they will per se because you
didn't get the Hall you could have gotten.
Speaker 3 (08:03):
So that's my point right ended with this.
Speaker 5 (08:05):
You could have got a bigger haul, You could have
re signed them, and now you have one of the
best defensive player in the game still with your team,
who offensively looks really good, and you could have kept
one of the best defensers. And to me, you also
made a foe better in the Packers. So I just
don't see the win in this.
Speaker 1 (08:22):
I saw yesterday they won Jerry one bring out the
Stone game.
Speaker 3 (08:29):
All right, we didn't even win the viewer to Dallas Cowboys.
Speaker 2 (08:32):

Speaker 1 (09:17):
So yesterday, another game, big game, two teams with just
one win each, now the biggest game of the week.
This was crazy, but you know what I mean. You
got the Chiefs and this time it counts. And the
Ravens went to Kansas City. Not only did they get
bad barbecue, they got barbecue period.
Speaker 3 (09:35):
Thank one of the boys was on the grill sizzlings.
Speaker 1 (09:38):
It just was not good. Uh and uh in that,
where are you on? What? When was your takeaway from that?
Because there's two sides you could look at.
Speaker 5 (09:48):
And I and actually I actually agree because there are
Depending on how you look at, it can go either way.
I'm gonna start with the one I said last week,
Elijah boy, I might need you to make me rewind
take up on this. I told y'all my chiefs, don't
worry about the Chiefs were coming. I told y'all that
the chiefs explosive offense was coming. I told y'all, he said,
(10:13):
they can exave you Worthy back. What does he do
his thirty eight yard run? Then obviously he gets twenty
in thirty yard passes all over the place. They give
she Rice coming back in another couple of weeks. Don't
make that phrase, Ryn, I saw you in here. They're coming.
They're getting explosive more and more. Patrick mahomes boy. For
two second. Worthy had one of his numbers. Look, he
had a thirty eight yard run and his total numbers,
(10:33):
what do you have? Two hundred yards?
Speaker 3 (10:35):
He only had?
Speaker 5 (10:36):
But no, I said, I don't need him to do
I needed to make a thirty eight yard run. I
just wondered, I need him to have a twenty five
and a thirty plus yard that's all I needed. Give me,
get in, give me his me time numbers since he
came home to hit me with two hundred and sixty
four yards. Wow, four touchdowns, that three and thirty seven
and complete obliteration and dominance over the Baltimore Ravens. And
(10:56):
then the other side of the ball. What they said,
You know what, Lamar, you are who you are, you
play You played the ball, you played the position very well.
But dangey, Lamar, we're gonna make you look like it's
the playoffs where you have been questionable at times.
Speaker 3 (11:09):
Lamar out here throwing bad interceptions.
Speaker 5 (11:11):
Lamar Jackson's out here running in He got a back fumble,
running to the back of his lineman, fumbling the ball.
Looks bad on the third couple of third down conversions
and had them all frazzled, and it looked like a
pure dominance from the team. Yes, the Ravens defense is
not great, we know that. But the Chiefs did what
they were supposed to do. If you got a bad defense,
let me exploit it. Your defense is sucking right now,
(11:33):
let me go ahead and put some points up on
your head to the tune of thirty seven. So they
did exactly what they want to do. And then I
told you that the Ravens, we're gonna start falling apart
when they say.
Speaker 3 (11:44):
That's why I said it's a must win when we.
Speaker 5 (11:45):
Were talking about that, said for Detroit, because if you're
the Ravens, you lose, you're gonna start falling apart. And
then they go to the Chiefs, they fall apart, and
they're getting literally fall apart, guys getting hurt all over
the side called the national football winout a doubt and
Lamar's frazzle and I've seen now him and R Henry
in two weeks, both slamming hamlet's falling all over benches
and everything.
Speaker 3 (12:04):
So I just think the Chiefs.
Speaker 1 (12:07):
One of the seventy five percent clips. So when you
start one and three, they're just too talented to be
one and three.
Speaker 3 (12:14):
I don't.
Speaker 1 (12:14):
I don't all the helmet slamming and all that. That's childish. Okay,
I agree, that's childish.
Speaker 5 (12:19):
I'm just not used to seeing them like this right now,
Friends with John Harbor, don't know what they're doing.
Speaker 3 (12:24):
Well, what did I say? Where was that? Week one? Yeah?
You want them gone? Okay? Yeah that was weak one.
Yeah yeah week one. Okay. So I stand on what
I said. Go back.
Speaker 1 (12:34):
People said to me, Rob, you're overreacting, prisoner of the moment.
Speaker 3 (12:40):
Oh you know, did John Harball what are you saying?
Speaker 1 (12:43):
Well, you go No, this is what I was saying,
and this is what I was talking about, because it
ain't about the Kansas City Chiefs yesterday.
Speaker 3 (12:51):
What it ain't and three of their law and their
three law losses.
Speaker 1 (12:56):
They're giving up forty one, thirty seven, and thirty eight,
like they almost giving up forty points a game.
Speaker 3 (13:05):
You're not winning anything. I don't care.
Speaker 1 (13:07):
Derek Henry lamar Jad, I don't care. Defensively, the Lions,
they're still rushing for yards two hundred like the Lions
can run the ball two hundred and fifty yards on
the ground at home. Seriously, their defense is like a
golf course like Swiss cheat their holes everywhere. And my
(13:28):
point is this has been going on for a while
and unless you're gonna fire the defensive coordinator, make some
changes or John Harbaugh saying dude, like he's been here
for a long time. This keeps happening. They got way
on paper, they have way too much talent. We talk
about it all the time. At some point, you can't
keep doing the same thing. You can't keep saying running
(13:51):
the same people and the same coaches out there. That's why, Like,
like the Giants weren't expected San Francisco, John expected to
win anything this year.
Speaker 5 (14:01):
No what they do. They ran Bob Melvin.
Speaker 1 (14:04):
Out after two years of like and I get it,
John Harbor won a super Bowl that was many moons ago. Like,
at some point, we need you to do something else,
Like there's no reason. And all I'm saying is, yes,
Kansas City got off. They're two and two. The Ravens
are one and three. Kansas City still has other teams
and games. That was like a one off and unbelievable
(14:27):
how bad they had been offensively that they finally got
Patrick Mahome didn't even have three hundred yards, but he
got four touchdowns and you know he had a good game.
I'm not and Lamar struggled and whatnot. I'm not writing
off the Ravens only because of the division. At their win,
the division and the one team who I said was
gonna win more than ten games better bet on it
(14:49):
is the Pittsburgh Steelers, who have now three wins, one
loss and haven't won one game at home yet, like
one home game.
Speaker 5 (14:57):
Which is really really a great if you would have
asked thembody, yeah, I mean they they they credit them
for winning games. And if you were watching the game,
they could have lost. It could have lost to the Patriots.
They could have lost. Who was the first one? I
was the Bears, but and they found a way to win,
So I credit them. But I want to go back
to the Ravens. What the issue I have with the
Ravens is when the issh hits the fire all of them,
(15:20):
you can't. I can't, John Harball, something seems a little
bit off with the play called and when they're going
to go for fourth down, should we do this? Lamar
Jackson gets a little tight when the defense can't look
lockdown and buckle down, and you can't have all three
phases to me be frazzled and looking frantic. And that's why,
like if the Chiefs aren't scoring, which they haven't been, duh,
(15:41):
there's no denying that their defense can lock in and
I think since twenty twenty three, they've had the lowest
points per game on the defensive and holding teams like
seventeen eighteen the game you say super Bowl, hanswer that one, okay,
but that got them to the super Bowl. And I'm
saying they can only say, all right, our defense gonna
keep us in it.
Speaker 3 (15:59):
We got a shot.
Speaker 5 (16:00):
The reason why I see that Stroud has been in
so many games over the last year year and a
half that you're be like, how are they in it?
Because his defense kept giving him a chance. Here's the
ball back, all right, try to go win this all right? Man, Hey,
here's the ball backs scored a few touchdowns, right, and
that's why they would be in so many games that
you feel like, how are the Texans still in this game?
And that's what the thing that worries me about the
Ravens right now is that from the coaching for Lamar
(16:22):
tightening up and say I got this out, make it
happen in the crunch moments, for the defense saying Daniel,
we've been we gonna let y'all down all game, We're
gonna lock down in this fourth quarter. I'm not getting
that from and I'm getting that from the better teams
right there somewhere where the Eagles. We could talk about
how bad they were. We'll get on that in a
bit in the second half. But their defense at all, right,
we're not gonna let anybody else score. We're gonna the
special teams. We're gonna block two field goals last week.
(16:44):
That's what conserves me about the Ravens. Who's going to
stand up?
Speaker 3 (16:48):
Man up?
Speaker 5 (16:49):
And it seems like when it starts going down, the
whole thing spirals out of control. And I don't like
that from a team that I put in the Dagon
Super Bowl. If you look at the sheet right there,
ro Chiefs Lions, I said, ah, not the Chiefs this
year with the Ravens. Dag you say your first pick
is the first guess is always the best? I said,
have stuck with that. The way the Ravens playing right now, stop,
(17:09):
that's my concern, right rob. They can't stop from faltering,
like you know what I mean, Like if they're like
we've seen Josh Allen defensive letting points. But Josh Allen said,
hop on the back, I'm gonna get it done. And
that's got anything done. I mean, I'm saying he's won
games where he's like, I'm gonna get this thing done.
And to me, John Harbor, I'll give you credit. I
don't think you fire him?
Speaker 3 (17:30):
Why not? What? What? Like?
Speaker 1 (17:32):
What like seriously like seriously, I'm coming off these these
games where you this is these are bad games, like
nothing has changed here like you would think. Okay, we
we that game one was terrible in Buffalo. We gotta
make some changes. We gotta do something different. We gotta
send the house on these quarterbacks. Put more pressure.
Speaker 3 (17:50):
We gotta do. We cannot do what we're doing.
Speaker 1 (17:53):
Okay, and all you're doing is giving up almost forty
points a game in your losses.
Speaker 5 (17:57):
The reason why we're gonna talk about I'm not letting
him go because when you look at the Ravens, they
have been a stable and a good, very good organization
for twenty five years.
Speaker 3 (18:06):
Okay, I say so, and.
Speaker 5 (18:08):
I get I'm not mad as if you say that
that's not crazy. I understand that. For me, I love stability.
I love knowing what I have. I love I have
my shot every year to get to the postseas AFC
Championship and from there get to the super Bowl. You
never know, and he has provided that I have a
culture which it thrives. For Lamar to thrive and win
seventy five percent these games, we do have to tweet
(18:28):
the defense. The defense had been better the last prior
to the last couple of sece. That's another justin fields
fumble where am I?
Speaker 3 (18:34):
Yeah, I don't know. They looked, Oh yeah, they look bad.
It wasn't fumble.
Speaker 5 (18:38):
You talk about a toilet bowl of a game. My gosh,
this was like nineteen ninety four five or something. This
will be a game not right now. So but yeah,
that's my issue. And if go back to the Chiefs,
that offense is starting again. Ty ty Kwan Thornton got
a touchdown. Can you give me those numbers on what
you need.
Speaker 3 (18:57):
Knowing for.
Speaker 8 (19:00):
His one hundred and twenty one yards for Worthy?
Speaker 5 (19:02):
Totally Yeah, game one hundred and twenty one yards for Worthy, right,
explosive running the ball, passing on and that's what they
have been waiting on. He finally comes back, shows you
what he does, one hundred and twenty one total yards
were Worthy? I got Rashi Rice coming. Defense is playing great.
Taekwon Thornton seems like a nice fine in the gym.
All of a sudden Juju, Schuster Smith.
Speaker 3 (19:21):
Is playing well.
Speaker 5 (19:21):
I just feel like we're about to see some really
good ball from the Chiefs. Not saying twenty twenty twenty
twenty one Chiefs, but in between. It ain't gonna be
that great, but it's definitely not gonna be It's gonna
be better than we seen the last couple of seasons.
And the Chiefs all of a sudden gonna be on
the rise. And that's what I walked away the last
couple of weeks. I told you or they're coming, and
the league should have beat them when they were down, and.
Speaker 1 (19:42):
They did beat him. What do you mean beating when
they're down? They did beat them. No, the Eagles, I said,
the league. They beat the league up to the tune
of fifteen and one with Mahomes. Yeah, but the Eagles
handed them, Oh debth that wasn't impressible.

Speaker 5 (22:11):
Let's call they called him a wellness check. Yeah, let's
call it wealdness. Let's call and see what's going.
Speaker 3 (22:19):
See if he's okay. Man, you know that's our guy,
man to make sure he's doing all right. Let's see
if Jason answer this.
Speaker 5 (22:28):
Is a Jason Smith voicemail with my best friend Mike Carmen. Sorry,
I can get your call trying to contemplate my life
after the Jets and the Mets, but leave a voicemail
after this.
Speaker 1 (22:36):
All right, he's not there getting ready for the show
and everything. But you know we have a message from the.
Speaker 3 (22:41):
Give it to him.
Speaker 2 (22:49):
That's a good one.
Speaker 5 (22:51):
Sorry, Jason, Why you do that? Man, he's gonna coming now.
You're gonna be mad when we see him. You think
every time you listen.
Speaker 3 (22:57):
To that message, you can think gonna delete it.
Speaker 1 (23:00):
Probably, Yeah, he's gonna be mad and he comes in.
Speaker 5 (23:04):
All right, Sorry, we get so, Hey, Alex, we might
leave about forty five seconds early and normal so he
can find a back exit to get out of here.
Speaker 3 (23:13):
Jason Smith Show with sorry, wrong time early? That's right?
Did we do that?
Speaker 2 (23:18):
Now?
Speaker 1 (23:18):
Right?
Speaker 5 (23:18):
Give me a Jason Smith show with Mike Harmon is
coming up next.
Speaker 2 (23:22):
I never missed your radio show.
Speaker 3 (23:23):
I never hear it, so I never miss it.
Speaker 5 (23:25):
Did you hear that? I mean that joke might not
see Today is one of them days.
Speaker 3 (23:29):
That joke.
Speaker 4 (23:30):
He gonna be like, he's gonna be like what he
had enough for this rap? He might come in and
go post a lord, I told you the movie falling Down.
Somebody laughing right now? They know the movie falling Down.
They know what I'm talking about.
Speaker 1 (23:40):
Yes, all right, Uh, we're gonna talk about a couple
of things coming up this hour. Yeah, the Aaron Judge.
Did he win the American League MVP? Over the weekend? Also,
Kawhi Leonard Address finally addressed the Clippers controversy.
Speaker 3 (23:54):
He's just laughed at her.
Speaker 5 (23:54):
That's why he did thatwhere he said, I got the money.
Speaker 3 (23:59):
Are you gonna return the money? Quiet? No, Alex, you
gotta Alex, you gotta go get the one that he laughed.
Speaker 1 (24:09):
At at when they win the championship at the Toronto
and the parade and they're in Toronto, that one, which
is just spectacular, and all his teammates laugh at him.
Speaker 5 (24:24):
Did you find it? It's making fun making fun of himself.
Speaker 1 (24:27):
Like wait, look like before that laugh, I never really
heard what he sounded like.
Speaker 3 (24:32):
I didn't know. I didn't know what his voice soundedlike.
Speaker 5 (24:34):
I'm a fun guy. I just can't give you at all.
I don't even know where you're sitting. I hit him
the Toronto one.
Speaker 3 (24:42):
It's the great one making fun of himself. Guys who
knew would be the greatest part of.
Speaker 1 (25:00):
And I know that man has two finals MVP and
the greatest thing he ever did was laugh And everybody
everybody wants that. Like when that first came out, Alex,
that was like automatic about three Twitter days in the
history of Twitter.
Speaker 3 (25:14):
Everybody was like, oh my god, that is so funny.
My wife people was like, Okay, that is hilarious. I
can't lie. That is hilarious, hilarious. I don't even know
where you are. He was.
Speaker 1 (25:26):
There was somebody who, like it was a press conference,
can't give you all.
Speaker 9 (25:30):
I'm a fun guy.
Speaker 3 (25:33):
You're stall like a blast to hang with. You got
the rest of it. Do the one where I'm a
fun guy. I can't even see you. I don't know.
Speaker 1 (25:44):
I can't give you I don't even know where you're
sitting at. And that's what to give you it all
you gotta ask. And then that's what a laugh at.
What would you like people to know about you?
Speaker 9 (25:55):
I'm a fun guy. Obviously, I love the game of basketball.
I mean, it's just more question you have to ask
me in order for me to tell you about myself.
I just can't give you a whole spill. I don't
even know where he's sitting at.
Speaker 5 (26:17):
That fun I don't even know where he's sitting at.
Was not that funny? Why you know what I mean, Hilaria,
You've been hanging around shocking Charles and all these That's
what made you laugh sitting there. I'm doing that permanently anytime.
I don't know where somebodys sitting at I'm laughing like
that on I'll tell you one guy was not laughing,
(26:41):
and that's a J. Brown.
Speaker 1 (26:42):
You know what he is doing, right? He belly aked.
He ain't too happy. Trigger fingers turned to Twitter fingers. Yes,
that's what he's doing.
Speaker 2 (26:49):
Boy.
Speaker 5 (26:49):
Let me tell you, in this era, if I got
beef with you and smoke with you, I ain't gonna
take it to you. I'm taking it to Twitter. I'm
not gonna go talk to the offensive coordinator. I'm gonna go.
I'm going straight to Twitter. Ryan, What is up with him?
And first is all good? I'm reading peaceable books and
understanding piece in my chi in er chi. Now he's
taking a Twitter.
Speaker 3 (27:09):
That's right. Well.
Speaker 8 (27:10):
Yesterday, of course, the Eagles beat the Tampa Bay Bucks
in Tampa Bay. Big game for them.
Speaker 1 (27:15):
They're still they've only won eighteen games in a row, correct,
eighteen games in a role, concluding playoffs and Super Bowl
eighteen games.
Speaker 8 (27:22):
AJ Brown finished that game with two catches on nine
targets for seven yards. So AJ not satisfied with just
the win, was very unsatisfied with his performance or I
guess the lack of production. And he posted a picture
of a quote, and that quote is if you're not welcomed,
(27:42):
not listen to quietly withdraw, don't make a scene, shrug
your shoulders and be on your way.
Speaker 5 (27:49):
Right, basically saying that he's he wants to be out.
Speaker 1 (27:53):
He he he doesn't care about the winning, doesn't care
about the Super Bowl. He wants his numbers. And if
I'm the Eagles, I would happily move off from him. Seriously,
because you're winning. He's saying he's not getting the numbers anyway,
So we could replace him with somebody who really wants
(28:14):
to be on a winning team.
Speaker 3 (28:15):
He's a talented player.
Speaker 1 (28:16):
I'm not saying he's a ball and he could go
somewhere else, go to a bad team and get all
the numbers you want.
Speaker 3 (28:20):
You can do that. I just think it's selfish when
you're winning.
Speaker 1 (28:25):
If you're struggling and you're not winning and you're not
getting the football and your talent.
Speaker 3 (28:30):
I understand that.
Speaker 1 (28:32):
When you're a team that won eighteen games in a
row and the Super Bowl and all these other things,
everybody can't get the ball, everybody can't make a play,
you know, Like, really, isn't it about winning? I think
it's about winning. It's great if you could be in
the mix. There are a lot of guys. I bet
you could. We were watching this. It's on the TV.
(28:53):
We were't watching it, but on TV. A football player's life.
Oh yeah. Calvin Johnson, Kelvin Johnson with the Lion. He
played in three playoffs, getting no meaningful games in his career. Seriously,
Like you don't think he would rather play? Okay, got
all the numbers, He went to the Hall of Fame.
Speaker 3 (29:09):
That's nice.
Speaker 1 (29:10):
Nobody remembers him for some important catch or big game,
you know what I mean? Or big game or he
got the thrill of winning a Super Bowl or something something,
NFC championship, whatever it was. I just would, right, I
would give up some of that to win. There are
a lot of guys who played for bad teams to
pile up numbers. We talk about the NBL. Somebody has
(29:32):
to score pointless point somebody has to score like that
Kevin Martin.
Speaker 5 (29:36):
Boy, he was having like twenty six k on too,
and teams ten and seventy two teams.
Speaker 1 (29:42):
Right, because somebody has to score, right that those are
the points you want?
Speaker 3 (29:45):
Where are you on it?
Speaker 5 (29:46):
I think it's selfish. So this is this is two
things with me. Aj Brown. I have zero problems if
he wants more passes. We saw what he can do
last week, right, we thought this might be the change
for them.
Speaker 3 (29:59):
Opening up.
Speaker 5 (30:00):
He goes for six catches last week, one hundred and
something yards, you know, and he looks good.
Speaker 3 (30:05):
You're like, all right, this is this is what the
offense is gonna become.
Speaker 5 (30:08):
And then all of a sudden, one hundred and nine
yards and a touchdown last week. Other games he's gone
one catch for eight yards, five for twenty seven, and
then last night two for seven.
Speaker 3 (30:19):
Right, that's embarrassing for him. Ro I get it.
Speaker 5 (30:22):
He says, I'm one of the top two three four
receivers in the league. I should be averaging eighty ninety
yards a game, six seven, eight catches, you know, a
touchdown every other game. That's how he feels. So I
don't have a problem with him wanting more. Receivers have
been doing it. What's the position. We called it the
diva in NFL receivers, you named the receiver. For the
most part, they've been doing that. My issue is him
(30:44):
going so public with a team that has been so
trying to be locked in and be focused on going
to super Bowls and winning multiple super Bowls. My issue
is with that he's going public and putting tweets out
there because now we got to talk about the tweet
Rob Parker kelvin Washington, which means the next hey, aj
I saw your tweet at the game now instead of
talking about how we can get better as an offense
(31:05):
because it can't have zero passing ark in the second half?
Right what nineteen thirty two? The leather helmet team is this?
So I agree they need to get better offensively for
where they're trying to go. If you're trying to get
better and for the end of the season, postseason, super Bowl,
they got to get better offensively.
Speaker 3 (31:21):
That's without a doubt now.
Speaker 5 (31:22):
But see, just make your public face to think about
it all the time, disustice all.
Speaker 3 (31:28):
You just talked about it.
Speaker 5 (31:29):
He had over one hundred yards just a week before.
Speaker 1 (31:31):
Okay, so it's not like they froze him out or
he hadn't gotten any balls, or we don't know.
Speaker 5 (31:35):
It's talent.
Speaker 1 (31:36):
I just don't want anybody on my team who thinks
their numbers is better than winning. You didn't win, oh
you eight of your last ten. You've won eighteen games
in a row. It's working. You're a part of something.
Some days you get numbers, other games you don't get numbers.
You know, like, it can't be about that. I don't
(31:58):
want that guy. If I'm in the front office, thank you,
I gotta move off for you. I really want somebody
who wants to be here, wants to be a part
of the team.
Speaker 3 (32:08):
There's games.
Speaker 1 (32:09):
Did you talked about it, Patrick Mahomes. Last year's numbers
weren't great. They kept winning. You gotta keep winning. It's
about winning. That's the only thing that matters. When you
start talking about your personal numbers on a team that's
won eighteen games in a row in the NFL and
you're not satisfied, dude, you're eating dirt. But if you
(32:31):
should be satisfied.
Speaker 3 (32:33):
Here's the thing.
Speaker 5 (32:33):
He got a hundred something million dollars, got a big deal.
He's the man, and I think that comes with it.
He wants to be able to say, well, winning. Now
I'm a part of the winning because ego pride. You know,
I'm having a Pro Bowl type year and we're also winning.
So that's my biggest issue. Ain't him not won the ball.
(32:53):
I don't have a problem with that. That's not what
I said. I'm saying for me. I'm saying for me
for a team that's won eighteen games.
Speaker 9 (33:00):
Row.
Speaker 5 (33:00):
I don't want that dude on my team. I don't
want you making a fuss. Come talk to me. Yeah,
that's what I'm saying. Come talk to me, Come talk
to offensive coordinator, come talk to a quarterback, coach, whatever,
Let's have us figure this thing out.
Speaker 3 (33:14):
I agree we need.
Speaker 5 (33:15):
To get better offensively because they've been keeping in these
weird games where they should lose, but they find ways
to win. And we know that's not gonna be beneficial
towards the end of the season. But you don't have
to make a fuss. You don't have to read a
book on the sideline, you don't have to make a
fuss last year a couple of times. You don't have
to make everybody think you and jaylen Hurst don't get along.
You don't have to do it two weeks ago or
after the win last week when you had a big night.
(33:37):
Guess what we're supposed to do. We've got to be
more explosive. So I have an issue with that, and
I agree at a certain point we're gonna have to
move forward because you keep being a distraction and a
team that is a reigning Super Bowl champ play into
a couple of Super Bowls in the last three years,
and it's trying to go back again.
Speaker 3 (33:53):
So that's my issue. I don't have an issue.
Speaker 5 (33:55):
If you want the ball, what receiver didn't t o
Michael Irvin, Chris Carter, Randy Moss.
Speaker 3 (33:59):
Everybody wants the ball.
Speaker 1 (34:00):
And none of those guys have dead team had won
eighteen games, And I'm dead serious, like to go public
in that you know, cryptic way and put out the message.
Speaker 3 (34:10):
I'm just I'd be like.
Speaker 1 (34:11):
As general manager, I'll be like, dude, go talk to
whatever you want to hold on to that and whatever.
But that's for you, you know what you're doing, that's
for your homies.
Speaker 3 (34:21):
Who keep going, how come you don't get the ball?
That's that's who you're dressing.
Speaker 1 (34:25):
Seriously, that's the only people are those people who are
in your camp who are like, you know, look at
what so and so got one hundred and fifty yard
You don't get the ball.
Speaker 5 (34:35):
How come you don't get no touchdown? How come they
don't throw you the ball?
Speaker 1 (34:38):
You don't like you? You know, and you're listening to
that instead of what they give you all that money
for no reasons. All you doing is blocking exactly.
Speaker 5 (34:45):
But they but on a separate conversation Rock, their offense
is really weird right now. Sakuon Barkley is not getting
busy the passing games last year. I'm saying, this is strange,
like your offense can be like, look at what they
did in Tampa. Man, that's a big weird weird. They
have weird weird halves where like, what the heck just
(35:06):
happened there,
