Speaker 2 (00:22):
You're listening to the Best of the Odd Couple.

Speaker 1 (00:28):
The Jets lose last night, and I guess Aaron Glenn
wanted everybody in their uncle to know something.

Speaker 3 (00:34):
So what was that?

Speaker 4 (00:35):
Yeah, he wanted to let them know how mad as
hell he is. He's not gonna take it anymore. Because
in a game where they had thirteen penalties and three turnovers,
Aaron Glenn made a point, according to multiple reports, to
yell at his team so loudly in the postgame locker
room that the media could hear it down the hall.
So he wanted to make sure everybody knew he was
really upset, and for good reason, because last night, the

(00:56):
New York Jetripolitics became the first team in the last
twenty seasons to start oh and four with zero force turnovers,
which is a big deal because, as you know, Aaron
Glenn is a defensive coach.

Speaker 3 (01:07):
And number two, this is.

Speaker 4 (01:08):
One that's really got his you know, race of eyebrows.
Aaron Glenn last night became the second coach in Jets
franchise history, or excuse me, the third coach against franchise
history to start his tenure as a new coach with
the club oh and four, joins Adam Gase and Lou
Holtz as the last two coaches to do that with

(01:29):
the Jets. He is now one loss away, coming up
on Sunday against the Dallas Cowboys, from becoming the first
OH to five rookie head coach in Jets history.

Speaker 1 (01:41):
I got news for you. He don't need that win
for me to already think Aaron Glenn is the worst
coach in Jets football history.

Speaker 3 (01:51):
I'm already there. What that's how long it took me?

Speaker 1 (01:55):
And I just I told you about one thing, all
that show bolting and cutting a player because he fumbled
and all that and the Bravado and you just talked
about it, rob to you like screaming and carrying on
and all that.

Speaker 3 (02:11):
Dude, your team is undisciplined.

Speaker 1 (02:14):
Thirteen. That's in a reflection of the coach. We agree
with me on that turn. I mean penalties, thirteen penalties
And do you know who they lost to last night?
The Dolphins. They don't even get any worse than that.
The Jets have turned into the general hospital of the NFL.

(02:37):
When you played him, you get well, Miami was starving
for something, some medicine, some help, and guess what the
Jets delivered. That's what they do. They make it easy
for other teams. Aaron Glenn hasn't changed anything. That bs
that they tell everybody about culture from a winning culture

(03:01):
in Detroit, he's gonna transfer that over to the Jets.
Culture starts with winning. That's how you transfer a culture over.
If you don't win, I don't care about all that
other stuff. I've told you a million times. Pro sports

(03:22):
has a short menu wins and losses. And when they
lose to the Cowboys in New Jersey on Sunday, he'll
be zero and five. Remember this is the guy who
told Aaron Rodgers to hit the road right, Yeah he did.

(03:42):
He's the one who's walking around and talking about he's
gonna change everything and we're not gonna tolerate this and
that and if you fumble the ball. Did they cut
anybody else from last night from the fumbles, did Justin
Fields get cut?

Speaker 3 (03:58):
What was the other running back who fumbled at the
goal line? Was he cut?

Speaker 1 (04:02):
I'm just asking, well, what is it You're not tolerating
that or not tolerating that from a bottom feeder, from
some guy you used as a sacrificial lamb to try
to push some narrative that you're not having it. And
it's totally different now with you in charge. The Jets
haven't changed. Aaron Glenn hasn't changed one bit. That team

(04:26):
is pathetic. They could even compete. I don't care what
the score was. Did they compete in that game against
the Dolphins? It was ugly, ugly game. That's where I'm
at with Aaron Glenn. So go ahead, yell at your team,
all that bravado and all that.

Speaker 3 (04:45):
How about coach better?

Speaker 1 (04:47):
How about doing a better job at coaching your team
up so they don't have to go to Miami and
get embarrassed by a terrible Dolphins team. Because that's what
happened last night, and now you're about to make history.
I'd never considering how bad the Jets are. I can't
believe a coach hadn't been owing five actually more shocking.
I'm shocking, and guess what, Aaron Glenn will wear that

(05:10):
proudly because he's earned it.

Speaker 5 (05:15):
I cannot believe we're four games in and you're going
off on Aaron Glenn. Four games in, four games into
a team that had Aaron Rodgers and only won five
all of last season. Aaron Glenn is trying to develop
in his team. Aaron Glenn trying to find an identity
of the team. Aaron Glenn is trying to find out

(05:35):
who's good on his team. He just got the job
and it's his first head coaching job, and you brought
up the Detroit Dan Campbell, who has had one of
the best teams in the last three years. Wouldn't have
had this chance if they're listening to you, because they started.

Speaker 3 (05:50):
Off to eighth and nine. Then they right at the ship.

Speaker 5 (05:54):
They got their guy and obviously Jared Goff, and they've
been able to move forward. So my thing is, I'm
not even thinking about Aeron Glynn either way, because it's
four games into his first team with a bad team
that I had no expectations of.

Speaker 3 (06:06):
Anyway.

Speaker 5 (06:07):
This is the kid who always brings homes d's and
now I'm yelling at him because they got D minus like,
this is what the Jets do. So I didn't have expectations.
This isn't this isn't you coming in yelling at John Harball.
I can understand that more because their expectations Super Bowl
aspirations for the Ravens, right. I can understand that they're
a handful of other teams. You know, Jamiko Ryans, you

(06:28):
might say, hey man, this team is supposed to be
better than this, talking about Detexans. I can understand that
nobody had any expectations for Aaron Glynn for the dagone
Jets because they weren't good. They haven't been good and
I don't know how long. And the crazy part is
they actually have been competing. Game one, they lose thirty

(06:49):
four to thirty two because of the whole kick return
thing that messed up against the Steelers.

Speaker 3 (06:52):
They could have maybe beaten Aaron Rodgers and the Steelers.

Speaker 5 (06:55):
Did they win hold Up? They got beat down by
the Bills. We know that that was expected. And then
it takes a block field goal for the Buccaneers to
beat them.

Speaker 3 (07:05):
Otherwise they beat them.

Speaker 5 (07:06):
They lose twenty nine, win hold Up and then they
only lose to a terrible. Dolphins teams are terrible. I
told you was the toilet Bowl. Yes night, we're watching it.
This was the toilet Bowl between those two teams, and
they lose by six. So aside from the Bills, he's
lost by a total of ten points those three games,
two of which he should have done.

Speaker 1 (07:26):
Most games are decided, So what I'm saying, losing by
close doesn't mean anything.

Speaker 5 (07:31):
I'm laugh with the idea that we're talking about Aaron
Glenn as if Aaron Glenn is the coach of the
Chiefs or the Ravens or the Lionan.

Speaker 1 (07:41):
I give you an example, and this is why your
argument is lame. And the Jets rob g Nathaniel Hackett
with Denver. Do we not call it after week one
that this guy wasn't head coach? Week one, Week one
we knew the Danuel can't hack it, couldn't coach, and

(08:03):
he wound up going four and eleven and was dismissed.

Speaker 3 (08:06):
You could use the same argument, how can you fire
guys his first year? Oh blah blah blah. No, this is.

Speaker 1 (08:12):
The bravado that Aaron Glenn brought about.

Speaker 3 (08:15):
I'm changing the culture here.

Speaker 1 (08:17):
He didn't come in and tell you, hey, give me
three years and see me in three years.

Speaker 3 (08:21):
We're gonna lose that. There ain't no way. That's not
nobody guy that I believe. I give him time.

Speaker 1 (08:29):
Thirteen penalties is a reflection of your coaching.

Speaker 3 (08:33):
It is.

Speaker 5 (08:34):
It is you can game the stingo and two they
can literally miss. Your record is and a kickoff return
that all day and then your he got rid of
a middling a guy who barely made the team. It
was an act offseason. It was an act that you know,
how many guys get let go now barely are practiced,

(08:55):
guys who barely special teamers.

Speaker 3 (08:57):
That happens the first three four weeks.

Speaker 1 (08:59):
And everyone and it came back now getting your blood
press and worked up over Aaron Glenn and the Jets.

Speaker 5 (09:07):
Man of you, I want you to go back to
your John Harball tape. I'd rather you yell at John Harball.
I would be down with that than Aaron Glenn four
games into the Jets.

Speaker 4 (10:01):
The defending champion Dodgers taking on the Reds who just
snuck into the postseason. So by all accounts, this should
be a walkthrough series by anybody who covers the league
or who sets the odds. They're saying, hey, Dodgers should
roll in a romp. Not only do they have the
reigning MVP and soon to be back to back MVP
and a time top of the lineup, they got postseason
performers up and down that roster. There's any concern with

(10:24):
the Dodgers, it's with the bullpen, right But entering this postseason, Blake, Snell, Yamamoto,
and Otani have collective eras in the on September of
two point twenty five, zero point six to seven, zero
point zero zero. And if you're worried about the bullpen,
don't worry about it, because they're bringing starters Tyler Glass now,

(10:47):
Roki Sasaki and Machian in there. So by all accounts,
you're looking at the fully formed Avengers Dodgers ready to
defend their World Series championship, and for whatever reason, people
are saying, hey, if they don't get it done, this
season is a bust, even though we all know that
baseball is a crapshoot in the playoffs. And I seem

(11:09):
to think that you guys agree with the naysayers.

Speaker 1 (11:13):
I do think that the Dodgers, on paper, right, it
has been an uneven season.

Speaker 3 (11:18):
We've talked about it. On paper, they're still the best team.

Speaker 1 (11:22):
They spend what a billion dollars in the offseason, and
I'm obviously being facetious but barely, but to get my point,
they spend a lot of money. On paper, people thought
this was gonna break the twenty five year right, It's
been twenty five years right since the Yankees won back
to back, and that the Dodgers would have the team
to be able to do it they win the World

(11:43):
Series last year, but there have been, you know, issues
going forward. All you got to do is get it
together for the next three weeks, three and a half weeks,
and you could win a championship if players play the
way that they're capable of playing. And that's a big if,
you know, because all year there's been some issues in

(12:04):
the Dodgers that made moves, as Rob g just chronicled,
you know, with putting other people in the bullpen, because
the bullpen was basically.

Speaker 3 (12:11):
A gas can. It was so bad.

Speaker 1 (12:16):
But I will say this, if anybody was supposed to repeat,
it's this Dodger team, and if they don't win the
World it will be a failure. This was a team
coming in and I think you would agree with me
that people thought had every chance to win again.

Speaker 5 (12:33):
Fair Yeah, I mean people actually some people thought it
wasn't fair because you already are World Series shamps. Then
you go and get a Blakes now right then you
already you know, you're bringing back some guys who've helped
you before you your second year into some other guys
who come on the team. I mean, people were looked
at this as remember we were literally talking is it fair.
Who do we have We had other Yankees talking about it.

Speaker 2 (12:56):
They ain't.

Speaker 3 (12:57):
I don't like it. It's not fair what the Dodgers
are doing.

Speaker 5 (12:59):
So yeah, a lot of people have been complaining from owners, GMS,
and let alone fans across the conversation. Are the Dodgers
now the new evil Empire? So I believe I'm with
you that the expectations were world Series title or bus
and I believe currently as we sit here less than
an hour away from first pitch, it's still World Series
or bus.

Speaker 3 (13:19):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (13:20):
Absolutely, Like what when you have gone won your division
twelve out of thirteen years, you've been to what three
four World Series over the last six seven eight years?

Speaker 3 (13:30):
You won a couple of them.

Speaker 5 (13:32):
I mean you got I believe, the best player in
baseball and you got some of the best pitchers. Like,
this is exactly where you're supposed to be. There's no
shock when we say the Kansas City Chiefs believe they're
supposed to win championship. This is where they've built themselves
up to be. There's no doubt that the Warriors, when
they were on their run, they thought, we're supposed to

(13:52):
win championships. This is what we do when Tiger Woods
was rolling, I'm winning majors, Serena Williams.

Speaker 3 (13:58):
Yeah, I'll better win a major. I'm not coming here
to win a few matches.

Speaker 5 (14:01):
And so that's where the Dodgers have put themselves in
a position where to win a World card, a wild
card series and then go home. It's unacceptable. Just to
sneak into the postseason unacceptable. And that's where they are now.
They're at the point where just winning a division doesn't count,
just being happy to be in the postseason doesn't count.
It's all about can we run off? Can we do

(14:21):
some Yankee type stuff?

Speaker 1 (14:23):
The late right with Derek Jeter and that team when
they won three three out of four, you know what
I mean, and they put together a dynasty.

Speaker 3 (14:31):
They were a dynasty.

Speaker 1 (14:32):
I always say it's either three in a row or
three out of four kind of put you in that.
And you look at the Dodgers roster and the players
they have, and you said, dude, they got the makings
of this. If anybody's going to be able to come
back and win another championship, it is the Dodgers. And
I think them more than any other team, not even
the Yankees. Remember, people forget that they lost their race.

Speaker 3 (14:56):
Yeah, karat Cole and he's still about Game five last year.

Speaker 1 (15:00):
You know, right, And it didn't cover first base, Aaron
Judge dropped the ball and in center field that they
could have easily forced the game six, and then the
Dodgers are out of pitching.

Speaker 3 (15:08):
We talk about all the time. That could have been
something else happened there.

Speaker 1 (15:12):
Yeah, it was a big play, but the Dodgers are
in a class by themselves.

Speaker 3 (15:16):
And I do believe that. I do believe.

Speaker 1 (15:18):
That that not winning will be a disappointment all the
way around, and people will say, what happened?

Speaker 3 (15:26):
What went wrong? Why was this team?

Speaker 1 (15:28):
You know, Mookie struggled for four months, was just a
shell of himself. Has bounced back, you know with that
mazing September. Yeah, like like so, so that's a good sign.
And old TONI had you know, big numbers, not the
numbers that he had a year ago. We had one
hundred and thirty RBIs and he batted over three hundred
O Tony batted two eighty four or five or something

(15:51):
like that. Still had fifty five home runs. It's a
great season and he's going to win the National League
MVP and all that. But anything less than that. I
think the Dodgers or the team that will look back
and go like, we blew an opportunity. Why weren't we
good enough? And uh, and they have almost not have

(16:12):
to win, but they.

Speaker 5 (16:13):
Need to No, no, no, they have to win because
that's what they that's what they've built themselves. If you
couldn't get certain players right, ah, we tried to get
so and so we could. Oh we were in the
old tiny so we got everybody right, man, Blake Snell
will be a great addition to our staff, but all
we missed them.

Speaker 3 (16:27):
You're getting the players.

Speaker 5 (16:28):
You still have some young guys to match with the veterans,
and then you got guys still just dead smack in
the middle of their prime. You have an amazing home
field advantage, Like there's you can go down the line
of reasons why you know, you'd feel good about situations
for the doll Like, man, if we if we can
get series in LA, we're good. We got obviously a
manager who's been here at this point for such a
long time, like all the things are in favor and

(16:51):
Rob alluded to something. The last month their starters started
getting healthy and started wheeling and dealing you got Otani going, oh,
he's gonna go about an inning, he's gonna go two inns,
hes gonna go three and d he won't go before
wait a minute, he went five, Okay, went six inn's.
You started to see the build up. Blake Snell comes back,
Glass now comes back. I mean, tull you even had
Kershaw out there willing and Diler who didn't even make

(17:12):
the roster. That's how confident you feel, said Kurse. We'll
get back to you a little bit later on. So yeah,
they're built to win this year, despite it all, despite
having some ups and downs and ebbs and flows throughout
the season. So absolutely they'll be disappointed if they don't win.
And to your point earlier, you and I've talked about this,
somebody's got to repeat, and I'm sure they're looking at
themselves in the mirror saying why not us?

Speaker 1 (17:35):
If anybody, it should be because of what they've able
to do, their resources where they are, they have a
ownership that's aggressive. We're trying to win now, we're not
talking about they're not sitting back. They could have easily
won and said hey we wont go before we got two,
and we got two in the last five years, right exactly.
And this one wasn't in a coach over year, right,

(17:59):
this was a legit full season and we beat the Yankees,
and and we should be good and we should be happy.

Speaker 3 (18:05):
I mean they could be, but they didn't do that.
I agree, I agree, I think they and they know that.

Speaker 5 (18:09):
And everybody who kick Hernandez comes back, God, Blake Snell,
all these guys who sign on, you know what you're
getting into, Like, you're not coming here, like you said,
just to have some fun, compete, maybe win eighty games.
So you're coming here knowing the expectations are world series,
not just expectation to make the playoffs.

Speaker 3 (18:26):
It's world series. Nice player there about Judge? Did he
drop it? No? He caught it? Okay, it wasn't a fifth.

Speaker 5 (18:34):
Boys having game five, fifth in and they can't even
bring you let them out, get ready to say no,
you know, swing it on.

Speaker 4 (18:39):
You YouTube saw them for the radio audience. Judge makes
a nice catch, right, So as Calvin is talking, Rob
immediately turned looking at him like he saw that catch, right,
And then he tries to play it off like did
he catch I.

Speaker 3 (18:52):
Was gonna stall him out? He acted like he didn't
see it.

Speaker 5 (18:54):
What did he catch You got two New York Yankee
TVs on here?

Speaker 3 (18:58):
No, no, no, the cameras in the way, I couldn't. Okay,
did he catch it? You go good Will? That was
just Cody. Yeah, sorry, no, it was just a thought.
You know what, you guys killed me.

Speaker 4 (19:19):
Yannis I did the GOOPO missed Bucks Media Day because
he had the rona. He was doing it via Zoom's
ward off sound of it, but he was asked by reporters, hey,
we heard it was while reported by several people, including
ESPN Shaan Sharanya, that you were considering demanding a trade
out of Milwaukee, and Yannis, being the stand up guy

(19:42):
that he.

Speaker 2 (19:42):
Is, confirmed it.

Speaker 4 (19:43):
Here's what he said quote, of course, yes, every summer,
their shoot through every report. I want to be on
a team that gives me a chance to win a championship.
It's at a service to the game to not want it
to beat at a high level to win your season.

Speaker 3 (19:55):
In April.

Speaker 4 (19:55):
It's not the first time I had the same thoughts
last year, two years ago, five years ago. It's never
gonna change. I want to be among the best, complete
with the best, and win another championship.

Speaker 3 (20:06):
Period.

Speaker 5 (20:10):
This is where we start to get into the pantheons
and greats, right, This is where we start to have
conversations of the pecking order or your top ten, your
top fifteen, and your top twenty. And for me, I've
said this, You and I have talked about it last season,
during the NBA postseason, even just during the season. I
expect more out of Giannis Antetokounmpo, the Greek freak. I

(20:32):
want more out of him. He is a phenomenal player.
He's an MVP candidate every year. He had an incredible
season again last year, putting up MVP type numbers. He
is a nine time All Star, nine time All NBA.
This is another great one, five time All Defensive, two
time MVP, All Star, MVP, top seventy five player all time,

(20:55):
and then we go finals MVP.

Speaker 3 (20:57):
We can go on and on and on.

Speaker 5 (21:00):
And this is why my expectations are higher for him.
This is why I want him in the Leastern Conference
is what we call it. Why hasn't he been to
the finals a couple more time. I'm not saying he
has have three four rings already. He still has another
six seven years of a really good career. But I'm
saying he should be in the finals a couple more times.
He should be guys that are competing for finals instead

(21:22):
of us coming into the season not even thinking about
the Bucks. And there's too many seasons where we don't
think about the Bucks for him to be on the team.
And what's the point of being just that great? We're
you're an MVP candidate in the Leastern Conference where you
have a chance. There's no Bohemoth in the Eastern Conference, right,
He's not dealing with the Warriors of the West where
I can't get past him. So I think if he

(21:42):
was sitting right here in his third chair, he would
be like, Yo, Dub, I'm with you. I should be
in the finals more often. I should have maybe one
more ring, And I want him to be competing for
that year in year out instead of coming to the
year and you're like, eh, that maybe be a three
seed for like, you don't have a high have enough expectation,
And it doesn't make any sense because he didn't come

(22:03):
in highly touted. We didn't really know him like that.
But now you look at a guy like Yo Kich,
same thing, Yo Kich. All right, you're an MVP candidate
every year. I'm expecting you to be in the finals.
More because again, when we typically get that caliber player
in the NBA, it's usually followed with some type of dominance. Right,
you get a bunch of MVPs with Tim Duncany stays
relevantly in the finals obviously to win a five. Lebron

(22:25):
stayed in the finals. Steph stayed in the finals. Kd
once he got with Doors stayed in the finals. Don't
even go back in the day Isaanah Thomas in the
Birds and Magic.

Speaker 3 (22:34):
So he's too good to if.

Speaker 5 (22:36):
Another five, six, seven years career ends another MVP or
two and he walked away with one finals appearance, one
final win, that would be disappointing for the greatness. I
mean his his reference page is littered with credentials. Litter
you know how you click on the more, it's just
kicked falling down with credentials. And I think it's okay
and fair to have a higher expectation for the caliber

(22:58):
player that he is actually in the conference where there's
no dominance there. It's not like he's playing twenty twelve
through eighteen.

Speaker 1 (23:04):
Lebron, I couldnot disagree with you more, and I think
I'll just give you a list. Carl Malone, Charles Barkley,
John Stockton, Patrick Malone, Patrick Ewing, Reggie Miller, Alan Iverson,
Elgin Beale or Steve Nash, Chris Paul. What all those
great players have in common? They never won a championship, So.

Speaker 3 (23:26):
Jannis don't know it. So Jannis is.

Speaker 1 (23:31):
A made man in the NBA, and he's already won
a couple of MVPs. He won a championship in Milwaukee
with nobody, with nobody win out another top fifty player.
And I'm not saying he doesn't want to win, but
he did the unthinkable.

Speaker 3 (23:50):
Everybody was like, you're crazy. Why would you stay in Milwaukee.

Speaker 1 (23:54):
I heard all you'll never win, go to the Miami Heat.

Speaker 3 (23:59):
You remember that.

Speaker 1 (24:00):
He could have asked out, go to Miami, go play
with Lebron, go do something else. It was all out there,
and he said, no, I'm not with all that. I'm
not working out with these guys. I'm not doing any
of that. I'm my own dog. And he won his
own championship. That championship there, to me, means so much

(24:21):
more than if you go team up with other people.

Speaker 3 (24:25):
This is one that he earned.

Speaker 1 (24:27):
He has mad respect from people because he was able
to put it together, able to win a championship in
a place that normally doesn't win, that normally doesn't win.
And that is what you want is to be able
to win. And he's done all that. Now if he
gets another one, that would be great. But to look

(24:49):
down on Giannis's career in Milwaukee and say he didn't
accomplish enough, please, I just gave you some of these
great play Chris Paul has been on a a gazillion
team with a gazillion guys and he can't win.

Speaker 3 (25:05):
It ain't that easy to win?

Speaker 1 (25:08):
Ask Lebrono's played twenty four twenty three years and got
four championships, And you're gonna look at Giannis and question like, oh,
he didn't know his career it wasn't that great because
he only won one time? Are you kidding me? I
think we are totally lost sight. Ask how hard it

(25:31):
is to win because a couple of people.

Speaker 3 (25:33):
Have won a lot, and and and and.

Speaker 1 (25:35):
You think everybody should be Tom Brady or everybody should
be Michael Jordan.

Speaker 3 (25:40):
Those are those are not the guys that are normal.

Speaker 1 (25:44):
Most people don't get to win, or if they win,
they win one time, and they're very fortunate for that.

Speaker 5 (25:52):
This is where we disagree. If you're talking baseball or football,
I'd give you that more than the NBA. In the NBA,
when you're that guy and you've kind of locked in,
you have a chance to compete for a very long
time because there's just five men on the court. And
if you're that dominant, especially a guy like him, on
both ends of the floor, you typically do I mean,
look at Kawhi Leonard. He obviously was with the Sports

(26:14):
Spurs organization, but then he goes and wins with Toronto
and then he's competitive at least with the Clippers when
he's healthy and when he's there, when he shows up.
And my point is, Giannis is not even near the finals.
It's let alone win another ring. He's not even in
the finals competing. He's not losing heartbreakers in game sevens
and man, I had a chance if I'm Charles Barker
that just lost to Jordan. He's not even doing that.

(26:37):
And that's the part to me. For me, that is
more disappointing. Again, I don't expect him to walk around
and do the Michael Jordan with the six rings picture
on a Sports Illustrated or whatever it was. But Daggett,
you're too good, too talented, year in year out to
not even be a thing, to not even be competing.
And that's all I'm saying I did, is I expect

(26:57):
him to be competing and noting on the door he
ain't even in the room.

Speaker 1 (27:01):
Yeah, but I just think that people are way too
thinking that you're supposed to win or be in the
finals every year.

Speaker 3 (27:07):
It just doesn't work like that. And that's why I
gave you.

Speaker 1 (27:10):
I just gave you fifteen names of great, great players
who didn't get a chance to win a championship. And
nobody's gonna look at Charles Barkley and say he wasn't
a great player, or Patrick Ewing a guy I covered,
or Steve Nash who won two MVPs or whatever.

Speaker 3 (27:26):
And Giannis has done all that.

Speaker 1 (27:27):
And that's what I'm so impressed by is he did
win two MVPs. He did win a championship on his own,
like like that championship for a lot of people would
be better than going to tack on and be on
some other team and you're not the main guy. Yannis
won that in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, of all places.

Speaker 5 (27:47):
What you want that man to do? Robert tired, Yo,
I gotta ring him out. No, he wants to say
that he's just so good to be out.

Speaker 2 (27:55):
I don't know.

Speaker 5 (27:56):
He is one in seven. This is how many in
the last two playoffs he has one win. No MVP
candidates should be walking around with here with one win.
Lebron got swept. Oh no, they won one game. I'm
sorry in the first round, right, we'll luka. Lebron is
sixty seven years old. All right, he's still I'm not
even sure he's not seventy two. And that's a horrible los,

(28:18):
especially when we got Luca. But my point is Giannis
is too good to have only one game in the
last two postseasons. That don't make any sense. He's too dominant.
And that's all I'm saying. When you're when you're typically
that guy, and then once you've ascended to that height
and and by the way, i'ma be having the same
conversation about yo kids here. This is what it comes

(28:38):
with when you're this good, that's great. It's not a
question of are you an all time great? We know
that at all time great, we know that, it's where
are you when it comes to starting to get to
chances and knocking on the door of championships. Nobody asks
you to be Jordan six? And oh, but that's all
I'm saying is you mentioned Karmelon. Karmeloon got to a couple.
He's sitting there like, dang it one for Jordan. I
might have a couple. That's all I'm saying.

Cardiac Cowboys

Cardiac Cowboys

The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
