My wife and I neither one of us grew up
over really into Halloweens.

Speaker 3 (03:01):
So but the girls will be doing their thing.

Speaker 6 (03:02):
We got the uh little you know, festival thing at
the church a little bit later, so they'll be uh,
they'll they will get their candy.

Speaker 4 (03:09):
So you got so they do? What is an Angels Night?
Is that what they do?

Speaker 3 (03:13):
No?

Speaker 6 (03:13):
No, that's uh no, that's the that is a real thing,
or at least it used to be.

Speaker 3 (03:18):
I don't know if it still is.

Speaker 1 (03:19):
Oh, some people didn't celebrate Halloween and they had like angels.

Speaker 6 (03:23):
The Angels Night harvest fest. Now they call it rob
trunk trunk or treat where you pop the trunk and
several cars rout of church and you go and you know,
you do your things. So uh but either way, be
safe out there. Enjoy for those who are gonna be
out today tonight.

Speaker 1 (03:39):
Yes, uh, there will be plenty of people having a
good time and enjoying themselves. And I get it. Life
is so difficult already. A little diversion is a good thing, right,
A little bit right?

Speaker 4 (03:52):
All right?

Speaker 1 (03:53):
Uh, let's walk's why we're here. Rob, Absolutely, let's welcome
in the odd couple crew. We wouldn't be able to
do this fine radio program with Donald. Shae is our producer. Shay,
what what's your costume? Chase dressed up?

Speaker 4 (04:07):
You know the BUCkies mascot BUCkies.

Speaker 7 (04:11):
Yeah, like a restaurant, corner store or not a corner store,
like a truck stop almost Texas.

Speaker 3 (04:16):
Oh yeah, the huge, massive one he's got.

Speaker 4 (04:20):
He even has the tail on the costume.

Speaker 3 (04:23):
Oh you're yeah, you are, Deic? Is it a beaver right?

Speaker 4 (04:26):
Yeah, I'll face ty. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (04:27):
And the only thing is he's got the Dodger outfit
on over top it. You know, I had to I
understand it's the it's the last game.

Speaker 3 (04:34):
Of the year.

Speaker 4 (04:35):
I all right, I don't even say that, say just.

Speaker 3 (04:39):
My headphones trip, last last one of the year. I
couldn't hear what you say.

Speaker 1 (04:42):
Already you paid me today, get my Apple paid?

Speaker 5 (04:46):
Do it?

Speaker 1 (04:47):
Send me that money back? I mean, Shay was like, oh,
they're gonna win him, not only win, but in five games.

Speaker 3 (04:52):
Was tripping on that one?

Speaker 4 (04:54):
Five games? Some help, but no respect for the one game?
How am I tripping?

Speaker 3 (05:00):
That's that's far one A gentleman. Sleep, Yeah, that's four
to one.

Speaker 1 (05:05):
All right, Uh, we got you, all right, Steve de Sager.
He's at the anchor desk. Go keep us updated throughout
the show. Saga, look at that.

Speaker 3 (05:18):
Oh wow, that's right. We know who he is.

Speaker 4 (05:21):
He's getting applause.

Speaker 3 (05:22):
So what's what's that? He ain't done that much for us?

Speaker 1 (05:25):
It's our social media gury today and on the ones.

Speaker 4 (05:29):
And twos, why that's right.

Speaker 1 (05:37):
Uh so Mary's on the uh is our uh engineer
for the program. So a lot to do, uh so
little time on this funky flashback Friday. And let's start
here Kelvin with the Dodgers and uh you want to
paint the picture tonight game number six in Toronto, and

(06:01):
the Dodgers are hoping and praying that y'all, momodo pitch
is a no hit or a perfect game.

Speaker 4 (06:05):
That's the way they could win.

Speaker 6 (06:07):
I mean, they've already said that he's going and like this,
there's no secret he's going as far as he can take.

Speaker 4 (06:12):
Them, as long until they about hit him around a
little bit.

Speaker 3 (06:15):
Yep, hit him around. So basically we're here.

Speaker 6 (06:18):
Well, the Blue Jays robber up three to two in
this game six and how did they get there to.

Speaker 4 (06:24):
Get to three to two.

Speaker 1 (06:25):
Remember the Dodgers win that eighteen inning game right at
home and then lose the next two at home, Like
that was with old Tani on the mound.

Speaker 6 (06:34):
After that, right, that didn't work out, So that that's
a big you know, you lose. It wasn't like you
lost with them. You lose with a guy on the mountain.

Speaker 3 (06:41):
You lose, and then Blake Snail comes back.

Speaker 6 (06:43):
You're feeling like, all right, well, well he'll bounce back,
and he wasn't horrible. But again, the Dawkins did not support.
They got no run support. So now three to two.
So basically, when teams are down three to two in
a series, they come back to win it thirty percent
of the time. So that's what the percentage. Just have time, right, yes,
seventy percent. If you're up, you win it. So the

(07:05):
Dodgers are facing that right now. The only thing in
their favor to me, we've talked about it where is
baseball is a little weird and that home field advantage
isn't quite like other sports. So if you're the Dodgers,
you're hoping because we just saw the Mariners get a
couple last series versus the Blue Jays, So that's what
you'd be leaning on and hoping for there. So the question,
Rob really comes down to all that the Dodgers acquired,

(07:29):
all that they did this offseason, coming into this season
as the World Series rainning World Series champs. If the
Dodgers were to lose, because we won't be back, you know,
even if they win tonight, they could lose tomorrow. You
and I won't be on until Monday. If they were
to lose, is this season of failure? Kelvin without question.

Speaker 1 (07:49):
If the Dodgers lose this World Series, and you got
to remember this, when the season started, people were saying
it was unfair.

Speaker 4 (07:59):
Remember it's unfair. Look at what they did in the offseason.

Speaker 1 (08:03):
They won the World Series last year, and all they
did was be getting loaded for bear that it was
unfair everybody else. They were supposed to be what the Beatles.
Most of the season they turned out to be a
culture club with boy George, but they were supposed to
be the Beatles. There's no way you can look at

(08:24):
this team, the roster, the pitching, everything that they put
together and think that they can lose this and it's
no big deal.

Speaker 4 (08:36):
Tip your cap to the Blue Jays and keep it moving.

Speaker 1 (08:39):
It will be one of the most colossal collapses for
a team that everybody thought this whole time I've been
doing Shekel City. Do you know every night the Blue
Jays are getting plus one and a half runs like
they've been underdog every night. Nobody believes it. They remind

(09:01):
me of win the Pistons beat the Lakers. I'm sorry
La fans back in two thousand and four, every time
they won, they look when they win, well, the Lakers
will win the next game.

Speaker 4 (09:11):
Well, the Lakers will winning Do you do you remember Calvin?

Speaker 1 (09:14):
Oh yeah, remember, oh yeah, after Kobe helped them win
that game, hit the three in Game two? Right, okay,
now it's over now, Okay. Then the Pistons win Game
three in Detroit. All right, the Lakers will win the
next one. All right, the Pistons win that game out,
they'll win the next one.

Speaker 4 (09:29):
And I know.

Speaker 1 (09:31):
People want to believe they're gonna turn the fascet on
and all of a sudden everything's.

Speaker 4 (09:35):
Gonna click back or whatever.

Speaker 1 (09:37):
This team just hasn't been in a funk for five
days or a week since September.

Speaker 4 (09:45):
Google of Numbers, go look.

Speaker 1 (09:47):
They've been scuffling offensively, the Dodgers have.

Speaker 4 (09:54):
They have three runs in his.

Speaker 1 (09:57):
Two games stre right, in the last two games, and
that's been batting one sixty four with twenty two strikeouts.
This is the last two games at home in LA.
We're sleeping in your own bed. I'm sorry. And the
other part is the Blue Jays aren't fraudulent or they've
played over their heads. They came into this World Series

(10:20):
averaging six and a half runs. Do you know what
that is? In baseball? Teams don't average six and a
half runs for season. Six and a half runs. It's
a ton of runs. My point is simple. The Dodgers
can't turn it on. They haven't hit in a long time. Sure,

(10:40):
I'm not saying they're gonna get shut out or no hit
or anything like that, but Kelvin, this.

Speaker 4 (10:44):
Will be a colossal failure for the Dodgers.

Speaker 1 (10:48):
Who spent what one point two billion dollars or whatever
it was in the offseason, and even when they went
and got Tanner Scott right, remember, oh my god, look
at what they're doing.

Speaker 4 (10:58):
Dude. None of this.

Speaker 1 (11:02):
Will be good unless they repeat as World Series champs.

Speaker 6 (11:07):
I hear everything you say, and I'm not mad at you,
and I'm sure there's a contingent folks who will feel
the same.

Speaker 3 (11:12):
Way, but I disagree.

Speaker 6 (11:15):
Here's why you mentioned people coming in and beginning talking about, oh,
the evil Empire, Oh the Dodgers are doing this. You
and I, yes, me and you both said stop it.
That guarantees you nothing in baseball. Me and You've talked
about spending the most money means nothing.

Speaker 3 (11:32):
Spending the most.

Speaker 6 (11:33):
Money, in fact, if anything, gets you more pressure to
actually have to compete, win and do something, as the Mets,
who don't even make the postseason. Right, We've talked about
the Yankees spent a bunch of money, haven't won quite
some time. We talked about the Dodgers who spent a
bunch of money and then finally went until they won
in twenty twenty. So spending a bunch of money accumulating
players doesn't mean anything. Also, this team, while great on paper,

(11:56):
had a bunch of injuries on and off. Blake Snell
only started at eleven games. You got Glass now only
started eighteen. You had some other guys in and out
the lineup, so they weren't fully themselves throughout the season,
and offensively they have been struggling throughout the season, had
some bad periods. People thought they were gonna win one
hundred and ten to fifteen games.

Speaker 3 (12:15):
They barely. What was it like around ninety I believe
it was so.

Speaker 6 (12:20):
Their starting pitching came together towards the end of the season, but.

Speaker 4 (12:25):
Everybody with that pitching.

Speaker 6 (12:26):
They were like, right, And I agree that's what mass
that the team wasn't really that great an NBP candidate,
and Mookie Betts was terrible this season for a large
portion of it.

Speaker 3 (12:38):
He got great at the very last month. He was off.

Speaker 6 (12:41):
We'd never seen them this dejected, he was emotional, he
didn't have words. When they would be interviewed, you and
I would be like, I've never seen Mookie like this.
Mookie didn't have a great season. So there was a
lot that actually would tell you this team is good,
but they're not great. And I think the starting pitching
mask stat and we know how hard this is.

Speaker 3 (13:00):
It's a reason.

Speaker 6 (13:01):
Why no one has won in twenty five years back
to back championships. There's a reason why no one in
the NL has won sense what was it seventy six
saw Reds seventy five seventy six Reds so to me
to get the year obviously have a shot, get all
the way six. I don't see it as a failure,

(13:21):
massive disappointment, right because you were right there from doing it.
But it is very difficult to do clearly hasn't happened
in fifty years in the NL, twenty five years altogether.
And again you've set yourself up by having all this
great talent to be right back here next year and
have another chance to compete. So I don't view it
as a failure, but I could. I get why you may,

(13:41):
but I don't. Specifically in baseball, if this was the
Warriors with Kevin Durant, I would understand it. Some of
those Patriot teams, Brady and the whole like I would
understand it being a failure of Seeds because that's how
they operate, Shaq and Kobe failure if we don't win
the championship.

Speaker 3 (13:56):
It's a bit different in baseball.

Speaker 1 (13:57):
I just when you look at the way this team
was put to other than the money spent, this was
to win a World Series, not to get to it
and lose it. They were the overwhelming favorites when they
swept the Brewers. Will you admit that overwhelming, overwhelming.

Speaker 4 (14:14):
Yes, all right, and for them to be in this
situation all right?

Speaker 1 (14:17):
Eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox We want to
hear from you. Do the Dodgers have to win this
World Series, come back, win the next two games.

Speaker 4 (14:28):

colossal failure? I say yes, Kelvin says no. What do

Speaker 3 (17:04):
Hold and thank you for the fore one.

Speaker 10 (17:05):
Let me take my headphone, yes and uh yes before
first pitch, let me sing, uh, oh Canada, Here we.

Speaker 5 (17:18):
Go, Oh can Dog our home man, name of land,
true Patrian.

Speaker 4 (17:35):

Sanfrey, Oh Canada, we stand dog God forthy they come.

Speaker 3 (18:23):
To big finish Okay.

Speaker 11 (18:27):
Canada, we stand God God.

Speaker 4 (18:36):
Yes, yes, yes, sir, alight.

Speaker 10 (18:42):
I think our fans in Toronto and Canada, and you
know what, there you go, my love for that national anthem.

Speaker 1 (18:51):
Obviously, working in Detroit, Okay, working in Detroit for those
twenty years, and you know it's close to Windsor. Canada's
right a tunnel and bridge ride away from h the
United States right there, and covering so many games, hockey
games in Detroit during those twenty years, I got to

(19:11):
hear Old Canada a million times, you know where most
people don't get to hear it unless you go.

Speaker 3 (19:16):
On hot That's a good point.

Speaker 6 (19:18):
You said all the time in hockey and you went
what'd you say, one season you went to for one
or something.

Speaker 4 (19:24):
I went to.

Speaker 1 (19:24):
Thirty eight of the forty one home games at Joe
Louis Arena, and whenever the Canadian teams are in, they
play both national anthems.

Speaker 4 (19:31):
So I used to hear it all the time. Got
to love it.

Speaker 1 (19:34):
I know I can't sing, but I wanted to honor
the great country of Canada.

Speaker 3 (19:39):
Did you honor them with that vocal performance?

Speaker 4 (19:42):
Yes?

Speaker 1 (19:42):
Because they know that, yes, I mean they don't think
I'm a professional singer. I'm a talk show host. That's all.

Speaker 6 (19:49):
Well, listen, if you ever need to leave this country,
maybe you have second citizens. You said, you know citizens
you can go over there, maybe a citizen of Toronto
or where'd you like Vancouver where's the where's the spot
you Montreal?

Speaker 1 (20:01):
Montreal? Yes, Montreal, Toronto. Those are the two. I have
not been to Vancouver yet. That's somewhere I do want
to get to.

Speaker 4 (20:09):
All right.

Speaker 1 (20:10):
We had some shakeup. We saw last night Lamar twenty
eight to seven the Ravens. What he have seventy two
percent completion right, Kelvin four touchdowns and you said it.
We talked earlier today, like he's out in the backyard like.

Speaker 6 (20:31):
My older brother playing with the little Brothers friends, where
you're just like, now you can't play, you know what,
You're too good.

Speaker 3 (20:38):
That's what Lamar looks like when he just.

Speaker 1 (20:40):
Looks easy when he's throwing the football around and whatnot.
And anyway, it was another loss for the Miami Dolphins,
and then Shane, it were changes that happened today when
we woke up with the Dolphins.

Speaker 4 (20:54):
Yeah.

Speaker 7 (20:54):
So the Dolphins are probably the only team that make
me happy to be a Browns fan, which is very
hard to do. Oh yeah, so this morning, team owners
Stephan Ross announce the decision Friday to mutually part ways
with longtime general manager midway through his tenth season in
the role. Roughly twelve hours after the Dolphins twenty six
loss to the Baltimore Ravens at hard Rock Stadium, dropping
the record to two and seven. What do you guys

(21:15):
think about this firing?

Speaker 3 (21:17):
All right?

Speaker 1 (21:17):
Rob?

Speaker 6 (21:18):
For me, this is this is at to quote my
good friend Rob Parker, this is easy.

Speaker 3 (21:24):
Mike mcdan the GM fine, Chris Gear had a good run.

Speaker 6 (21:27):
Of ten years. He was down for what since twenty sixteen?
And yeo have been twenty years? Yeah, had been very
loyal to the guy, right, Yeah, absolutely, you had a
good run. And we know all good things must come
to end. Specifically, I'm a way that to the side.
And I'm gonna say Mike McDaniels and I talked about
this at the beginning of the season with you. It's
just time for him to go. And it's not as

(21:49):
if he's He reminds me of a Josh McDaniels. Maybe
he'll get another head coaching job, but maybe ultimately as well,
he's just made to be a really good offense coordinator somewhere,
and that's just where he's great, and that's where he thrives.
A couple of reasons why I say this, Rob, Not
every season is gonna be great. We know that. That's
just football, that's just any sport. But a few things

(22:12):
cannot be happening to me if I'm a general manager
or an owner of a team in this case, watching
my team. You can't be an offensive guru in our
offensive table.

Speaker 3 (22:22):
That's number one. You can't be this young, offensive, brilliant
mind in our offense. Stinks.

Speaker 6 (22:27):
That can't happen because at least that could be your
saving grace. Because you also can't lose the locker room,
and we're doing the locker room has been bad, the
let toxic, the all the reports coming out. We're hearing this.
We're hearing that. Guys don't like it. Guys aren't showing
up to meetings. Guys are just leaving meetings. Star players
are doing this as well, not like some randos, the

(22:47):
big time names are leaving. This is why they ship
Jayleen Ramsey out of there. And then you're beefing with
the quarterback who I've given the whole entire brink struck two.
So I can't just get rid of him because he's
been poop pool as well. I wish I could, but
it'll be too difficult right now. I'd have to figure
out a way. So you and the quarterback are beefing.
Your feuding. The locker room's great, and what's happening off

(23:09):
the field is on the field is bad as well.
So at what point, Rob, do I have something to
hang my hat on with you? We're not scoring, we
look awful on the field. You and the quarterback don't
get along. The locker room's broken. What do I and
you haven't been a successful winning They haven't won games
or two and whatever right now, two and five and

(23:32):
they're owing to in the postseason or name so, they have.

Speaker 4 (23:35):
Made the postseason. You're acting like they haven't even made
they made the post Let me tell you something about that.

Speaker 6 (23:41):
This team hadn't won a postseason game since twenty six years,
the longest trout in the NFL, and it's only been
to the postseason four times in twenty three years.

Speaker 3 (23:50):
Even the Lions can laugh at that.

Speaker 4 (23:52):
Blame Don Trula, the late great.

Speaker 6 (23:54):
I'm sorry they get Don shuld Ron Ron is great
at you right now. So while I'm saying I believe
he can get a a second chance somewhere at some point,
he's only forty two years old.

Speaker 3 (24:03):
But right now it's just time to move on.

Speaker 6 (24:05):
Sign to blow the whole thing up and figure and
find out what your next thing is.

Speaker 3 (24:09):
Because it looks awful.

Speaker 6 (24:11):
Tools regressed, the offense regrets that's what they're supposed to
hang their hat, and that's not the case. Nobody believes
in him. The locker room's broken, Your leaders are leaving
the team. Your leaders are broken. Your Tyreek Hill is
a terrible situation. Ramsey, now to it. I think it's
just he's he won't He may last a year, he
won't make next year.

Speaker 3 (24:30):
I don't see that happening.

Speaker 1 (24:31):
I don't have a problem with the idea of keeping
the coach till the end of the year. And I'm
gonna say this, I agree it's time to make a move,
But there's so much that goes into it with coaching.
And here's the other scary part, and I do get it.
Sometime when you put an introm in players, you win

(24:55):
a couple of meaningless games. The season's over.

Speaker 4 (24:58):
Players.

Speaker 1 (24:58):
We saw this and where we saw this in Oakland,
didn't we? I mean in Las Vegas the players rallied
around Antonio Piers. We want Antonio Piers to be the guy.
And what happened? Ownership They cave in because they had.
They brought in an introm right, they won a few games,

(25:19):
they related to them and did that work out with
Antonio Piers?

Speaker 4 (25:25):
Do you see what I'm saying?

Speaker 3 (25:26):
Where is advice?

Speaker 1 (25:28):
Whereas I would rather let them finish out the string.
We don't have to go change and hire all new
coaches or do all this kind of crazy enough and
change everything, and then we'll do a real search, go
find us a coach and whatever. The GM part, I
understand why they want to part ways.

Speaker 4 (25:47):
Now there's work to be done.

Speaker 1 (25:50):
We need guys to get ready to pick players for
next year and the draft and all that. And that's
why I understand, let's get you know, let's get him
out of here. We don't want him picking any more
players for us. We don't like the roster that we have,
so so we want to start on that because before

(26:11):
the next season comes around, the draft will be here faster.
Do you know what I mean? I do, But the
only thing I'll I'll throw it.

Speaker 6 (26:17):
That makes this strange rop is that they got four
days to the trade deadline, so they could have waited
five six days.

Speaker 1 (26:23):
No, they don't want him to they don't want him
to have anything to do with personnel.

Speaker 4 (26:27):
And that's why I'm just saying.

Speaker 3 (26:29):
Because we don't want you to know it's bad. When
they say get out the door, you know, right before
the trade d.

Speaker 4 (26:35):
Been there forever.

Speaker 1 (26:36):
Look at that first batter, Old Tawny strikes out to
lead off the game.

Speaker 3 (26:41):
I just just you're a little ahead of me, my
little streaming. I saw. I just saw it right now.

Speaker 1 (26:45):
Yeah, the first two strikes and then right and then
he got him on.

Speaker 4 (26:51):
A two two piinch.

Speaker 3 (26:52):
Let me let me tell you something about Tony one thing.
I gotta admit when he strike out, that looked it
looks bad.

Speaker 6 (26:59):
I ain't go lie Calvin Shade, Hey Shade, that's our man.

Speaker 3 (27:03):
But when he strike out, its.

Speaker 4 (27:05):
Happened everywhere, like pumping it.

Speaker 7 (27:08):
You can see the sweat flying off of him, and
like it just looks like he's trying to throw the back.

Speaker 6 (27:12):
He didn't got on a he didn't got on his knees,
bended knees.

Speaker 3 (27:15):
I thought, held into somebody.

Speaker 1 (27:17):
We've seen him strike out a lot postseason, My goodness, gracious.

Speaker 3 (27:22):
So they mixed it up. We just saw will Smith.

Speaker 4 (27:25):
Yeah, movie has been knocked down to fourth.

Speaker 6 (27:27):
Now yep, Yeah, watching me watching my three run home
run or something.

Speaker 4 (27:33):
Yeah, good luck the center field.

Speaker 6 (27:36):
Hey, don't do that now, you know you need MLB, bro.

Speaker 1 (27:39):
And Rojas hasn't had a hit since win, hasn't hit
had since September.

Speaker 6 (27:47):
You know who is that thing? What was the main
star in the Major League?

Speaker 3 (27:54):
The catcher? That's who ro like?

Speaker 10 (27:57):
Ya?

Speaker 7 (27:57):
Wait me, did you guys see the picture or the
video of Rajas last game because that was his last
home game?

Speaker 4 (28:04):
Yeah? Yeah, he stood out there here.

Speaker 1 (28:06):
He was in the dugout for a long time after
to realize that might be which.

Speaker 7 (28:11):
I don't know.

Speaker 6 (28:12):
Okay, all right, go ahead, Well last point, real quick,
real quick, Rod, did you see that video of Dave.

Speaker 3 (28:17):
Roberts running around the base?

Speaker 10 (28:18):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (28:20):
Is that good or bad? Is that an omen or?

Speaker 6 (28:22):
Is that they're finally gonna loosen up, have some fun
and just let the bats fly today?

Speaker 3 (28:25):
Which omen or? Which? What side are you on? Shay
and Rob?

Speaker 4 (28:33):
I don't even want to No, it's fun. I had
no issue with that.

Speaker 1 (28:36):
You can't walk around on eggshells like you can't laugh
and that.

Speaker 3 (28:40):
I just need it.

Speaker 4 (28:41):
That Yeah, and that was.

Speaker 1 (28:44):
You remember that with Dave Roberts was big when the
Red Sox came back, he stole that.

Speaker 3 (28:48):
Base that whole series, he was still in basis.

Speaker 4 (28:51):
Yeah, that was a huge part of his career and
that moment for him.

Speaker 3 (28:55):
You remember that.

Speaker 6 (28:56):
You remember that era in baseball, Rod when they used
to do a thing called still in basis.

Speaker 1 (28:59):
Well, they're doing now. Remember last year Tony stole fifty.
I mean they're stilling more now.

Speaker 3 (29:04):
But what did you used to say about him?

Speaker 4 (29:06):
Well, they were phony because he's sliding in the pizza boxes.

Speaker 1 (29:08):
Get anyway, all right, hey, Jay, last thing and then
we're gonna take some calls eighty seven, seven ninety nine
on five Before we move.

Speaker 4 (29:15):
On from the Dolphins topic, do you think.

Speaker 7 (29:17):
This if, if anything that you guys have been saying
does happen and they end up firing McDaniels or they
end up getting rid of everyone at the end of
the season, does Tuus still have a chance in this league?

Speaker 4 (29:28):
Of course he does.

Speaker 1 (29:29):
First of all, he's got a big contract and that's
gonna keep him around.

Speaker 4 (29:33):
That's gonna keep him around. They just can't cut him
or release him. So I don't.

Speaker 1 (29:37):
I don't think two is going anywhere unless they can
make a trade with somebody. I just think financially, you know,
thise Kelvin, When you sign those deals, you're locked in.

Speaker 4 (29:46):
You just you just are another And not.

Speaker 6 (29:49):
To mention, I think too someone's gonna say, I like
to when I put him in the right situation.

Speaker 4 (29:55):
Right, we saw him scoring seventy points, didn't we see
him scoring sevent the Broncos t heres yep.

Speaker 6 (30:01):
Some quarterback coach guru is gonna say, and when everything
is perfect with it, you know his timing, he got
the right receivers. This guy can be accurate because that's
his biggest strength. He's accurate. So they'll say, I can
fix him. You got always happens. I can fix him
all right?

Speaker 1 (30:14):
Eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox, Did the Dolphins
do the right thing, which was fire the GM and
keep the coach or they both need to be fired?

Speaker 4 (30:26):
Where are you? I think they did the right thing? No, introm.

Speaker 1 (30:29):
We don't want anybody to get connected with one of
these guys and and and want them to stick around
and have players lobbying for him to be the head
coach next year. Or like Kelvin, you think they all
both should have been broomed out together. And enough with
Mike McDaniel we'll take your phone calls.

Speaker 4 (30:47):
Next.

Speaker 1 (30:47):

Speaker 4 (32:11):
Covin, how are you feeling in this so far?

Speaker 3 (32:15):
Yeah, this is what you want.

Speaker 4 (32:16):
Man, if you're if you're from over, this game is
far from over.

Speaker 6 (32:19):
So gosh, listen, if there was a team that the
Dodgers know is far from over, isn't that on Blue Jays?
The way they get runs, the way they hit the
ball up and through that lineup. So but for the Dodgers,
it's just great for them to have to have some
early run support for Yamamode.

Speaker 3 (32:34):
So that's fine.

Speaker 6 (32:35):
A human being, he can be a human being rob
which means not be your best all the time, meaning
he might give up a couple and still feel like
they're in this game. Uh, so that that has to
be great for them. And if you're Dave Roberts, look
where'd you move Mookie to clean up?

Speaker 3 (32:50):
He cleaned up?

Speaker 6 (32:52):
Coincidence, luck, good fortune, whatever, the move ended up paying
off thus far.

Speaker 4 (32:58):
All the numbers were against them, and he came through
and he neared it.

Speaker 1 (33:02):
That was it, and he looked bad on a two
strike swing, right, It looked like he threw it by him,
like he wasn't you know, couldn't catch up to it.
And he came inside again with that pitch and he
was able to pull it in the left field, get
two runs in a two clutch, two out hit and
it's three nothing. Man on second, one out. Yamamoto just
struck out Clement. I think that's what's up, right, all right?

(33:27):
So there we are as we get ready for the
third inning now and the final hour of this program. Shay,
we got a big football game coming up this weekend, right, Yeah,
of all the teams out there, what we got.

Speaker 4 (33:42):
Yeah, man, we got it all. We got Chiefs Bills.

Speaker 7 (33:45):
The moment that every NFL fan waits for almost every season,
it seems like it's what we wait for is the
media because we have so much to talk about from implications,
quarterbacks and people. Obviously, Chiefs Bills is a little different
than most years. They both haven't really started off the
way that most expected.

Speaker 4 (34:02):
The Patriots are starting on not the Patriots.

Speaker 7 (34:04):
The Chiefs off the back of Patrick Mahomes are starting
to pick it up, and the Bills are coming off
of buy who do you guys see standing on top
after this week, Rob.

Speaker 6 (34:17):
Kelvin, you could start, well, I think for me, this
game means more for the Bills because I think the
Chiefs feel like, if you're looking at the Chiefs, they're saying,
we're heading in the right direction.

Speaker 4 (34:30):
We know we are.

Speaker 6 (34:32):
There's this genius that does a show called The Odd
Couple of Kelvin Washington, who said it weeks ago that
the offense was about to get cracking again and look
like what they look like years past, not exactly, but
way better than the last few years. And that's what
they've done. Patrick Mahomes has put himself an MVP candidate
leading right now and also the team leading the odds
of winning a Super Bowl. So I think the Chiefs

(34:53):
feel good about them positions. To Shay's point, the Bills
were all kind of like, eh, I want more from them.
I want them to dominate more. I want to be
more assured what they are as a team. And so
what's interesting is you go into this game where the
Bills Jared Josh Allen has been He's now four and
one in the regular season, so he's dominated the Chiefs.

(35:15):
So the Chiefs can say we've been here before, y'all
beat this in the regular season.

Speaker 3 (35:19):
What's the big deal?

Speaker 6 (35:19):
Because the Chiefs are four and oh Mahomes against Allen
in the postseason, so this will be the ten time
that they have matched up.

Speaker 3 (35:26):
So to me, the Chiefs are heading in the right direction.

Speaker 6 (35:29):
The offense is going, the defense is still good, and
I think they feel confident going into this, but ultimately
also knowing we know where we're headed, we know what
we are. The Bills, to me, I think is more interesting.

Speaker 3 (35:40):
We don't know.

Speaker 6 (35:40):
Exactly what they are. Can they continue to run the ball?
Can their defense continue to be good? Can they be
where Josh Allen is good or solid and they still
won a game? I don't know that I've seen that
right now? Where can James Cook be relied upon? Where
they run him the ball more? Well, another couple of
receivers step up, And that's the difference to me right now,

(36:02):
Rob where I don't fully know what the Bills are.
They don't look as complete as with a lot of
us Thart coming into this season, and the Chiefs are
starting to peak at the right time.

Speaker 1 (36:11):
Yeah, I think this is big for the Chiefs. They
need it because I think that their season has been
so far. For Gayzy if you look at who they've beat, Gayzey,
they like, look at their wins. Okay, I'll tell you.
Look at their losses. They lost to the Chargers, they
lost to Philadelphia, they lost to Jacksonville. And when you

(36:32):
look at their wins, they beat the Giants, the bad
Ravens where they were giving up forty points a game, right.

Speaker 3 (36:41):
Yeah, they.

Speaker 1 (36:44):
Beat Washington without Jayden Daniels, and they beat the Raiders,
you know, like I'm just I know they were on
the schedule, but this is why I want to step
in here. Oh yeah, and they beat the Lions that
was probably their only one. And the Blue Jays are
on the board too. I'll clutch it. I guess who
George Spring Kirk Gibson. I'm believing that's a big hit,

(37:07):
Like like you know, like the goal when your team scores,
what's the goal is to have that clean inning the
next inning, a shutdown inning.

Speaker 3 (37:17):
Yep.

Speaker 4 (37:17):
And Yamamoto, who's been you know that doesn't give up
more than one run a game in a two out situation,
gives up the two out knock and it's three to one,
so there's life.

Speaker 6 (37:28):
While remember James, Yeah, I remember we had that conversation Rob.
I think it was earlier this week where we were
saying George Springer like is I think it was a
foler fair maybe last year, I mean last year, last week,
but the point.

Speaker 3 (37:40):
Was where is he ranking the pantheons of hitters?

Speaker 6 (37:43):
And we said, you know, it was specifically with the
Blue Jays, but we all agreed, like, dude, he's up there,
this dude in Blue Jays astros. He just makes big hits,
and he's started around and had made himself a heck
of a breer. That's a big a heck of a
postseason career. I agree, And that's a big hit. It
really is.

Speaker 1 (37:59):
Like it it seems like, well it's still down three
to one, but if Yammoto comes out, you know what
I mean, and mows them down, you might be like,
this is going to be a long night.

Speaker 4 (38:08):
That's a clutch to out hitting.

Speaker 3 (38:12):
Yes, you've glad he hits a two run home run.
Now you're back right back in it.

Speaker 4 (38:15):
Yep. So there you go, big hit there.

Speaker 1 (38:17):
I'm just saying, like Kelvin playing Buffalo and I get it.
Regular season compared to the playoffs. We can't play the
playoffs now, it's the regular season. So I want to
see I wasn't that impressed with them against Washington. No,
Jane Daniels right, Marcus Mariota, quarterback Mahomes had a couple

(38:38):
of picks. You know, they scored what they have, twenty
eight points. But it wasn't like they you know, like
overwhelmed them or Washington turned the ball over a couple
of times, I think in the red zone where they
had a chance to you know, get into the game
or be close to scoring. I wasn't that impressed with
that win, twenty eight to seven. They won comfortably, But

(38:58):
I want to see them against Buffalo and in Buffalo.
You heard Sean King earlier thinks that this could be
a wipeout for Buffalo up in Buffalo coming off a bye.

Speaker 4 (39:08):
How will this matter to you?

Speaker 1 (39:10):
Depending on the game if they get blown out, just
say they don't, you know, they get blown out in Buffalo,
would that just be a schedule game, you know what
I mean?

Speaker 6 (39:18):
Where So I think they listen that this ain't the
fifteen and two Chiefs in the sense of you can
waste one, right.

Speaker 3 (39:24):
They can't.

Speaker 4 (39:25):
They can't, definitely not right.

Speaker 3 (39:28):
So they have to win the game.

Speaker 6 (39:30):
They should want to win the game, I should say
I still believe they lose their fine because again I
think they're treading in the right direction.

Speaker 3 (39:36):
But they should want to win.

Speaker 6 (39:38):
They should They should look at this and say, yeah,
we ultimately always beat them in the postseason, but it's
okay to smack little brother up even in the regular
season and say, nah close with no cigar. You'all cute,
but y'allin us. And that's to me how their approach
should be. And again, also because you want to just
continue to trend in this right direction. You want to
get the reps going where she writes more. You want

(39:59):
to get the cottonuity of that offense explosive more. You
want to get the defense to continue to be dominating.
You want to find out if they can ever, ever, ever, ever,
ever have a running game. And again, to me, if
you're the Bills, you gotta show that man. Listen, if
Josh Allen is solid to good, can we win a game?
Because he has to be insane for them to win
a game. The Chiefs have proven over the.

Speaker 3 (40:20):
Last couple of years because last year Mahomes wasn't the greatest.

Speaker 6 (40:23):
They went fifteen to two. Now all of a sudden,
he's gotten his mojo back. They're winning games, but they've
lost the games. And this last year where he's playing better,
Coret well. Now that they've got it going the last
about four or five weeks and can the Bills and
this has been that. This is why I can't pick
them the Super Bowl. You want to you see, oh Man,
because I just feel like they were to go up

(40:45):
against the healthy and good ravens Lamar is just too much.
He can find out way to get done. Plus at
the time there's other guys. Dereck Henry can come to life.
They got tight ends that come to life. The defense
can make an opportunistic play. We already know. Patrick Mahomes
has been four and oh he finds a way. Is
it a Chargers team? Is it another AFC team? And
that's the difference with the Bills. They have to prove
that they are more well rounded team and they just

(41:06):
haven't been able to do that. In my opinion, it's
just Superman Josh Allen or nothing.

Speaker 9 (41:12):
No.

Speaker 4 (41:12):
I agree.

Speaker 1 (41:13):
I agree with you on that it's going to be interesting.
I'm looking forward to the game actually, and I'm doing
a good one. I'm into watching a game that I
can like you know, dig into and watch and not
just solely flipping around, you know what I mean. I
want to watch zero the minute a sixty minute game, right,
I want to watch the entire game. I want to

(41:35):
see what's going on on both sides here where Buffalo is.
Buffalo's kind of been under the radar when you say
that after the first couple of wins.

Speaker 6 (41:42):
Yeah, and that's because rob their offense hasn't been as
good as you would have thought it would be. The
defense has had some weird games, some fluky games where
you're kind of like, all right, why did we lose
that one? Or why did you allow this other team
to be so close? Like the loss of the Falcons.
You know what was.

Speaker 4 (41:57):
That that game? Yeah, that was weird, right.

Speaker 6 (42:00):
Yeah, you know that was a weird one. They were
in The Saints were in that game for a really
long time. As remember the Dolphins we talked about on
the air that day, think might because I think it
might have been a Monday night game. The Dolphins were
in that game against the Bills for some time as well.
So they've had, even in their wins, some wins where
you're like, all right, that's a strange win, like you won,
but I didn't feel good about that. And I think
that's why the Bills have kind of been I mean,

(42:20):
and they were getting dominated by the Ravens till the end,
you know what I mean, And they snuck that one out.

Speaker 3 (42:24):
So I just think they haven't looked at that great
which is.

Speaker 1 (42:29):
And if it was right and even in that game,
you know, if Derek Henry doesn't fumble, they don't win
that game.

Speaker 3 (42:35):
That's That's what I'm saying.

Speaker 6 (42:36):
I think that's the issue with the Bills is you're
just kind of like, and.

Speaker 4 (42:39):
They gave a forty at home forty at home to
open the season. Let's not forget that.

Speaker 3 (42:44):
I mean, La Marve be doing that.

Speaker 4 (42:45):
But yeah, so all right, eight said it, but I
look forward to it.

Speaker 3 (42:48):
It's gonna be a good.

Speaker 1 (42:49):
One eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox A couple
of things.

Speaker 4 (42:53):
Who needs it more?

Speaker 1 (42:55):
The Chiefs to prove that what they're doing is is
definitely you know, real and not fugazy or is it
the Bills will kind of like they're kind of fall
off the radar, right, they fall off the radar a
little bit. Do they need to do this so people remember, yes,
the Bills are still viable, They still have a chance.

(43:16):
They still trying to make noise, still trying to get
to the Super Bowl. Where are you on this game?
Who needs to win it more? I think the Chiefs do.
I need to see if the Chiefs, who could easily
what if they lose? They would be five and four.
They'd have four losses, double the amount of losses that
they had from a.

Speaker 4 (43:32):
Year ago, double, which is crazy.

Speaker 1 (43:35):
In nine games, eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox
eight seven seven nine nine six sixty three sixty nine,
it is the odd couple on a funky flashback Friday,
Rob Parker kelvin Washington, right here on Fox Sports Radio.
