Speaker 2 (00:23):
You're listening to the Best of the Odd Couple with
Chris Brusha and Ron Harker.
Speaker 1 (00:31):
The scandal that potentially could rock Major League Baseball show
hel tany the best player in the league, or certainly
one of them, and arguably even the face or one
of the faces of the league. His interpreter, good friend
(00:52):
of his, has been fired. It was happened last week
because he stole four and a half million dollars from
Tiny to payoff game allegedly allegedly, yes, allegedly, thank you,
to pay off gambling debts and show how Tiny spoke
(01:13):
today not too long ago, just within the last hour
or so, And do we have some sound of it, robbed.
Speaker 3 (01:20):
Yeah, Well he just read a press release, Chris, so
he didn't really take questions.
Speaker 4 (01:24):
It wasn't a real press prize, but he did have
a statement.
Speaker 1 (01:27):
So we are waiting on that. We don't have it
for you yet. But Rob, did you watch it live?
Speaker 4 (01:34):
What do your thoughts?
Speaker 3 (01:35):
I saw it and basically denied everything that he didn't
he didn't bet on baseball, he didn't make a bet
on anything, and that he was he was robbed by
his good friend and interpreter, and that he didn't know
anything that was going on.
Speaker 4 (01:52):
Chris.
Speaker 3 (01:52):
They were taking four and a half million dollars or
whatever it is out of his account and he had
no idea. I got to you know what, Andrew Brandt,
who we've had on Chris, You saw the tweet by him?
No that I said, Okay, you didn't look at your phone.
I did send it. But let me just I think
this is spot on.
Speaker 4 (02:11):
I really do.
Speaker 3 (02:12):
And I'm not saying that old Tani bet on baseball
or anything, Chris, but it's hard for me to believe
like he has no knowledge of any of this. And
Andrew brand of course, was an executive with the Packers
and has been on the show. He tweeted this, either
Otani is not telling the truth or has the worst Chris,
(02:33):
You ready, colon, best friend, interpreter, manager, accountant, agent, bank
in history.
Speaker 4 (02:46):
Yeah, yeah, think.
Speaker 3 (02:48):
About all these things that had to go wrong for
him not or for people not looking out for him,
for him to be involved in this, Like, it's not
just you and one other person. There's a bank that
not the Chris. A certain amount of money comes out
of your account, the bank calls you or alert you, right, everybody, right.
(03:09):
You got an agent who's supposed to overlook. You got
an accountant, why is this five hundred thousand dollars coming
out of your account?
Speaker 4 (03:16):
That's what a good account will do. Or your manager
what is this?
Speaker 1 (03:20):
And he obviously did not, I mean, nobody was able
to ask him a question, And obviously we don't like that.
Speaker 5 (03:27):
Rode, which is I get, you know, he's obviously.
Speaker 1 (03:31):
English is the second language, and I'm sure his legal
team they probably don't want him to answer questions any
way round. I get that, you know, maybe with the
language difference, maybe he says something you know that he
doesn't mean to say, or you know what I mean,
I get that, as frustrating as it may be, but
(03:53):
I understand that from his size perspective.
Speaker 4 (03:59):
I don't know. This story is just taken on so
many things. Chris. I'm not saying that.
Speaker 3 (04:07):
He bet on baseball, because that's because that's the biggest thing.
And I think the other part is in the state
of California, and.
Speaker 4 (04:14):
What what is that issue for him?
Speaker 3 (04:16):
Chris is the illegal bookie and you know it's against
the law in Los in California and I lost in
California to gamble. So that's why he has to really
distance himself from that because if if he were to
admit to that that that's you've broken the law, then
(04:37):
there's the other wire fraud.
Speaker 1 (04:38):
If the interpreter or ex interpreter was doing it, he
also was you know, he was would be aware that
he was breaking the law and kind of serving as
an accomplice and all of that.
Speaker 5 (04:52):
Do we have any sound guys, We're still waiting on this.
Speaker 6 (04:58):
What are you?
Speaker 4 (04:59):
Where are you?
Speaker 6 (04:59):
Chris?
Speaker 3 (04:59):
Just just on the idea that he says he knows
absolutely nothing and he was robbed. They that that his
interpreter stole the money from him.
Speaker 1 (05:10):
Well, this is why it would have been nice to
get somebody to ask a question, because you know, how
did did did your interpreter have your.
Speaker 5 (05:20):
Bank account numbers and all that you know? Do you have.
Speaker 4 (05:22):
Access to your your logins, your high everything.
Speaker 1 (05:28):
And even if he did, I guess it's possible to
you know, hack in there, I guess, but you know,
was the interpreter that skilled?
Speaker 5 (05:38):
And you know what I mean? Like we know all
that to qush.
Speaker 4 (05:41):
Let me let me ask you this as a reporter.
Let me ask you this. And he addressed it, which
was really.
Speaker 3 (05:48):
Good in the in the in the in the press release.
What would have been if if you got a chance
to ask him a question? What would have been the
first question you would have asked? I asked my baseball
writing classes today and talking about this, I'm just curious,
(06:08):
what question, Chris, would you ask as the first.
Speaker 4 (06:12):
Question if you got one question to ask him?
Speaker 5 (06:15):
Man, there's so many.
Speaker 1 (06:17):
I think what I just asked, what I just said
probably would have been my first. You know, how did
how did he get your How do you think he
got into your bank account and was able to, you know,
send all that money in your name? We do have
(06:38):
sound now that on baseball, Chris, another question there you go,
Let me tell you that that would have been number
one for me, because I need to paint you into
a corner as we before we go forward, like that's
because that's the most damage that can be done to him.
Speaker 4 (06:54):
Do you know what I mean?
Speaker 3 (06:55):
Chris, So that's gotta be like, did you bet on baseball?
Speaker 6 (06:58):
Show?
Speaker 4 (06:59):
Hey?
Speaker 3 (06:59):
Did you bet on baseball? Because the other stuff, Chris,
you know, you can work through and it's not gonna
wreck you. But but the but if he's the baseball
did you bet on baseball? We've already seen Pete Rose's
name and legacy ruined, you know what I mean? And
and it would be a big stain if that comes out,
(07:19):
and I'd want to hear him say no, I never
bet on baseball. He's gonna say, right, but but but
but to get him on the record stating that, so
we do have sound.
Speaker 4 (07:30):
Chris, let's throw to it.
Speaker 5 (07:31):
Let's there's some.
Speaker 7 (07:32):
Sound ship to it.
Speaker 6 (07:52):
I say so, I never bet on baseball any other
sports or I never have asked somebody to do that
might be have and I have never went through a
book maker. Uh to that on sports cardigal Up until
(08:17):
a couple of days ago, I didn't know that this
was happening.
Speaker 8 (08:20):
He Nani just to kind of just go over the result. Uh.
Speaker 6 (08:40):
In conclusion, has been stealing money from my account and
has told lies.
Speaker 1 (08:47):
You know, and you also ribe a critical question is
why initially did your team say that you knew what
was going on?
Speaker 4 (08:58):
Stories? Definitely like that.
Speaker 3 (09:00):
That would be definitely another one in there, Chris, absolutely
like what you said, Uh, how did he get.
Speaker 4 (09:08):
To how did he get your money? Why?
Speaker 3 (09:10):
Why has the story change from what they told the
ESPN like that that that was just just story. The
story changed, Like like, what what happened there?
Speaker 4 (09:21):
Boy? What a mess? What a mess?
Speaker 5 (09:23):
It really is a mess.
Speaker 6 (09:24):
Rob.
Speaker 1 (09:24):
And I don't know if you've talked to people around baseball,
but what is if you know, or maybe you've talked
to people who have some baseball reporters, but it feels this.
Speaker 5 (09:36):
Really is a downer.
Speaker 1 (09:39):
I mean, obviously if he did something, if you bet
on baseball, it's just horrible. But I mean in the
in terms of it taken away from opening Day, no doubt,
and what really was probably one of the most stars
stud of teams in recent memory.
Speaker 3 (09:54):
I was on MLB Now with Brian Kenny today on
MLB Network and we talked about it, and I did
what you just said.
Speaker 4 (10:04):
It's a distraction.
Speaker 3 (10:06):
It's the worst possible way you want to start this
season with the Dodgers, who are supposed to be like
the Beatles this year, Chris, right, like ticket sales for
Dodger games all over the country or through the roof,
like when they come to town. People were buying tickets
no matter what stadium or whoever they were playing.
Speaker 4 (10:25):
And then for this to count.
Speaker 3 (10:26):
And I'm not saying that this is a buzzkill on everything,
because they could come out after an investigation that there
is no evidence of him betting on baseball, and then
that would that part would move away, that cloud.
Speaker 4 (10:40):
You know what I mean.
Speaker 5 (10:40):
And that's the biggest class, the main thing.
Speaker 1 (10:43):
It'd be great if he had he said he's not
hasn't been on any sporting events. Hopefully that's the case, right,
Hopefully because he had, if he's been on other sporting events,
rab and I there's nothing wrong with that.
Speaker 5 (10:58):
He's free to do that.
Speaker 1 (11:00):
But in some people's minds they will wonder about baseball.
Speaker 2 (11:05):

Speaker 9 (11:18):
Hi, this is Jay Glazer, and you may know me
for the World of football or fighting or even shows
like HBO's ballers who you don't know is for my
entire life, I have lived in something I refer to
as the Great Depression anxiety. So now I'm coming out
with a new podcast, Unbreakable, a mental health podcast with
Jay Glazer, where each week while we talk.
Speaker 4 (11:39):
About mental health, I hope to describe it, give it words.
Speaker 9 (11:42):
Listen to Unbreakable with Jay Glazer on the iHeartRadio app,
Apple podcasts or wherever you get your podcasts.
Speaker 5 (11:51):
There were rumblings kind.
Speaker 1 (11:52):
Of like you know, little drops droplets if you will,
of reports where people saying, hey, maybe the Cowboys won't
give Dak the big extension. The reports, Rob remember about
a month or two ago that Dak wanted sixty million.
They were feeling themselves even though they went out meekly
(12:13):
in the playoffs.
Speaker 5 (12:14):
I guess Dak and his crew thought.
Speaker 1 (12:16):
They had all the leverage and they're saying sixty million.
Speaker 5 (12:20):
Yeah, we want to set the market sixty mili.
Speaker 1 (12:23):
And now reportedly there is an official report or something
with more substance behind it, Rob, and that is coming
from Ian Rapaport, and he says that both sides now
understand that Dak Prescott will not get the long term
(12:43):
lucrative extension. If this is true, then Dak and Mike
McCarthy we talked about his coaching staff.
Speaker 6 (12:52):
Rob.
Speaker 1 (12:53):
Mike Zimmer, who's the new defensive coordinator, got a one
year deal. Think about that a new job. I get
McCarthy being on the last year of his deal. You
hired somebody for one year. So clearly Rob approve it
year And doesn't mean they're totally done with Dak Prescott
(13:13):
if they don't win the Super Bowl or go deep,
but certainly they're saying, let's see what you got this
year before we pony up sixty million.
Speaker 5 (13:23):
Dollars a year in a in a long term deal.
So Rob, what are your thoughts?
Speaker 3 (13:30):
I am I'm a little shocked because the Cowboys have
been doing it wrong so often, Chris, they always get
it wrong. And I think, finally, if you're a Cowboys fan,
you gotta feel good about this. Now, Jerry might cave.
(13:51):
Chris is the last if he doesn't cave. I'm talking
about because Jerry's known the cave and this.
Speaker 5 (13:56):
Could be some time.
Speaker 1 (13:57):
I mean, they do say it's mutual, but it could
be something type of you know, throwing it out there.
Speaker 5 (14:02):
To the media.
Speaker 4 (14:03):
Right you know what I'm saying.
Speaker 5 (14:04):
People think and all that.
Speaker 3 (14:05):
Yeah, but if this is, if this is ironclad and
this is what's gonna happen, then then Jerry Jones the
Cowboys organization should be applauded because I told you before, Chris,
I would not give him sixty million. I'm tired of
looking at these guys where they're getting paid for the
position rather than the person. And that's what Dak would
(14:26):
have been. Not that he didn't deserve a contract or
you know, the going rate, but he should be a
higher paid quarterback than Patrick Mahomes. No, I'm just I
don't care when Patrick signed his contract, Chris, he could
have signed it four.
Speaker 5 (14:40):
Years because they keep redoing it, you.
Speaker 3 (14:41):
Know, right, And I still wouldn't think that Dak deserves it.
And he he he went the band in the playoff game.
He's got a terrible playoff record. And this has happened
over and over and fint. Let the guy earn it.
If he leads you to something, Chris, you get to
the NFC Championship game for the first time since what
ninety five or ninety six, whatever it is, then sign
(15:05):
the guy. Let's see. But I wouldn't do it, make
him prove it. And then you got McCarthy on a
short leash. You have Doc Dak on a short leash,
and guess what, things don't happen Chris makes a move.
So I love this all the way up and down.
This is a proved me contract for Dak. I think
(15:26):
he does need to prove that he's worthy of such
a deal. I don't care what the ramifications are. We
saw what Denver did with Wilson. I mean they just said,
we don't care, we don't care what the damage is
to our we don't care. We're just not going to
go that route. And in this case, I think the
Cowboys are making the right move.
Speaker 1 (15:46):
Yeah, and look, obviously, and I'm sure you agree with this,
Dak Prescott is playing better right now than Russell Wilson.
Speaker 3 (15:54):
I'll give you that the situations, but Russell won big
games and Dak camp.
Speaker 1 (15:59):
But I mean he's thirty five now, you know, and
we will see this year in Pittsburgh how much he's
got left. But I think that's different. That is a
different type of situation from that. I do think Dak
is a franchise quarterback rop. I think he's proven. I
think he played well last year. Now he he what
the bad as you say in the playoffs, There's no
(16:21):
doubt he wasn't the only one. Micah didn't make an impact.
I mean their whole defense was a joke. I mean
they all were bad in the playoffs. But he did
have a very good season, arguably his best ever. And
I think, like I said, he's a franchise quarterback. If
I'm the Cowboys, I'm not ready to move on from Dak.
But from a financial perspective, Rob, I think, and maybe
(16:44):
even from an inspirational or motivational aspect, I get it.
I get it you and I have always said, you
know what, if you know you want a guy, you
might as well pay him now because is only gonna
get more expensive.
Speaker 4 (17:01):
It doesn't go down the probably doesn't go down right well.
Speaker 5 (17:04):
But I think that could be changing.
Speaker 1 (17:08):
And that's why I agree with what the Cowboys are
looking at doing here.
Speaker 5 (17:12):
Because Rob Dak reportedly.
Speaker 1 (17:15):
Wanted sixty million dollars, right, so let's say a five year,
three hundred million dollar deals what he was eyeing four
years to what would that be to forty or something
to that effect. I don't look, let's say Rob and
I think this is very realistic. Let's say the Cowboys
go out next year, get to the second round.
Speaker 5 (17:37):
Get beat.
Speaker 1 (17:39):
Dak's okay, he's fine, He's not as bad as he
was this year in the playoff game, but you know,
he doesn't lift them.
Speaker 4 (17:44):
They lose.
Speaker 1 (17:46):
If he's a free agent, rob do you think even
one team is offering him sixty million a year?
Speaker 8 (17:54):
No?
Speaker 1 (17:55):
Right, And that's where see Look Kirk Cousin, who he's
not viewed as good as Dak Prescott is.
Speaker 5 (18:05):
I think they're very close.
Speaker 1 (18:08):
I think Dak might be a little better maybe, but
you know, he's viewed as being a slightly higher level
quarterback than Kirk Cousins. But Kirk Cousins, Robing, I get
he's coming off injuries a little older. Robbie got forty
five million dollars this year. So I think if Dak
under the scenario I painted second round exit, he's plays fine.
(18:31):
I think if he enters the market next year, rap
is he getting offered fifty two million ish annually? And
I think the Cowboys see that, and I think they're saying,
you know what, if he plays well, if we don't
see anything from Trey Lance in practice or any other
option out there, We'll go that route. And heck, if
(18:54):
he leads us to the super Bowl or really close,
then we'll up him.
Speaker 4 (18:59):
We'll REUPI for sure. Or he bottoms out and doesn't
play well, you know what I mean.
Speaker 1 (19:03):
If he plays poorly, you're right, then maybe they'll let
him go.
Speaker 5 (19:06):
But you see what I'm saying. I don't think.
Speaker 1 (19:08):
Dak's when when Lamar Jackson was free, who's better than Dak. Obviously,
ROB teams weren't willing and I think some of them
made mistakes. The Jets and teams like that, whatever, they
weren't willing to break the bank for it, and I
certainly don't think they're gonna be willing.
Speaker 5 (19:28):
To do that for Dak Prescott.
Speaker 1 (19:30):
So I think even ROB from a financial perspective, because
I would want to keep Dak, but I think financially
it could make more sense for them to just, you know,
see what the market bears, and depending on how he
plays this year, you'll either paying market value, but I
think the market value will be less than what he
(19:51):
reportedly is asking for. So I think it works out
for them in that regard.
Speaker 3 (19:57):
Yeah, you know, I'm not the biggest Dach fan. And
I think he's the or talk about all till he's
the known. I'm not afraid of the unknown sometimes, and
he's gonna have to prove to me that he can
get them there. I'm just not convinced. It's not like
he's been in. I think he's put in what a
playoff game for the Cowboy or five seven playoff games.
(20:18):
That's a that's a lot of that's that's a that's
a good sample size. That's not a corner of a sandwich.
That's a sandwich, you know what I mean.
Speaker 5 (20:27):
No, it is, And my view, Rob is.
Speaker 1 (20:32):
I mean, we talked about this on First Things First
the other day. Do I think Dak's going to win
a Super Bowl within the next five years? I said no.
Now I'm not saying he can't, but I said no.
Some people might say, well, then get rid of him,
let him go. This is one year and then you
let him go. I'm of the perspective that, you know what,
(20:56):
there's a value to be irrelevant. There's a value to
being in the mix every year. It's painful in the moment, Rob,
when you keep getting beat midway or deep into the playoffs,
but there's still a value there.
Speaker 5 (21:13):
It's a business.
Speaker 1 (21:14):
Every team doesn't win, Rob, But would the Utah Jazz
die to go back to the Malone stocked in era, Yes,
even though they never want it.
Speaker 4 (21:28):
But the difference here, Chris, and I hear you about
being relevant.
Speaker 5 (21:32):
You get what I'm saying.
Speaker 4 (21:33):
But Jerry Jones is in a different place.
Speaker 1 (21:35):
I mean he's he's all talk Jerry Jones, and he
really was about that. He makes some changes, Rob, if
he really wanted Super Bowl over anything else, he'd starts
shutting his mouth.
Speaker 5 (21:47):
I really believe that he runs his mouth too much.
Speaker 1 (21:50):
He is more his goal is to make the Cowboys valuable,
which he's done very well. To have the spotlight on him,
be the face of the franchise talking and be popular
and be talked about him and the Cowboys on all.
Speaker 5 (22:06):
The talk shows, and that's what he's done.
Speaker 1 (22:08):
I think he wants a Super Bowl, of course, but
I think it's secondary to his ego personally.
Speaker 3 (22:13):
That's my personal Yeah, I still think he wants one,
and at some point, I mean, I don't know how
much time the clock is ticking.
Speaker 4 (22:20):
It is loud, it's loud. I don't know what Joey's
doing to go that far. Man, I'm sorry, just leave
it at one loud. Okay, it's loud.
Speaker 5 (22:27):
You had to be like, I can't even emphasize it.
I can't even sleep at night.
Speaker 4 (22:31):
It's so loud. You know, it's keeping me up at night.
Speaker 2 (22:34):

Speaker 1 (22:46):
We all know about Caitlin Clark, the all time leading
scorer in college basketball history, at least n C double
A history. I'm not I don't know if n AIA,
but the n C double A men or man or woman.
Speaker 5 (23:01):
Ice Ce the legendary.
Speaker 1 (23:03):
Rapper, actor, producer, entrepreneur, Yes, entrepreneur.
Speaker 5 (23:09):
He runs the Big Three friend of our show as.
Speaker 4 (23:12):
Well, has been on many times here with us.
Speaker 5 (23:14):
Yes, good brother, he says Rob.
Speaker 1 (23:17):
He is offered Caitlin Clark five million dollars to play
in the Big Three in the summer. You know, that's
the three on three league that Cube is the commissioner of,
founder of and she'll be able to play in the
w NBA games and all of that. And Rob, what
(23:39):
are your thoughts on this?
Speaker 3 (23:42):
I thought that was pretty smart on his part, a
very smart.
Speaker 4 (23:46):
He sees what's going on. Chris.
Speaker 3 (23:48):
His league needs eyeballs, Okay, his league needs to sell tickets.
And he's looking at somebody who plays basketball. Figures, Hey,
why not get this lightning rock that's selling tickets, that's
lighting up TV sets, that's cooking up TV ratings and
all that. Let me go get her. But with all discreet, smart,
(24:11):
no doubt. But Chris, this is with no disrespect to him.
She is too big for the Big Three. And not
only that, Chris, she's too big for the w n
b A. I am convinced that Caitlin Clark should play
(24:37):
for an NBA team, Chris, not a w NBA team.
And I want to say this before you pooh pooh me,
or before you told me I'm a sugar now I'm crazy. Okay,
ain't good enough. Let me say this. You say this
ain't no stunt like Eddie.
Speaker 5 (24:57):
Good because you should know you've covered.
Speaker 4 (25:02):
Yes she is.
Speaker 3 (25:03):
And I'm gonna tell you why this is not Eddie
Goodell with the White Sox Christian, Remember they had the
small person who gate up the bat and they tried
to get him to walk every at bat This.
Speaker 2 (25:14):
Is not that.
Speaker 3 (25:15):
This is not a side show. This is not the
bearded lady at the circus. This is not what it
could be. The NBA right now is so soft as
far as physical play. They allow almost anyone to just
take three point shots. And I believe, I really do
(25:36):
that she could put up threes in this man's NBA.
This is not two thousand and four. This is not
the nineties, Chris. This is an NBA where the three
ball is open. It's open to be had. And if
you if you had players and you signed because he
can't play, he's not the all time he's not the
(25:58):
all time leading scorer. We just saw Steph Curry. We
just saw Steph Curry go up against a female in
a three point shoot shooting contest.
Speaker 1 (26:08):
Right, It's not about skills, it's about athleticism. It's about size,
it's about strength. This is embarrassing for you know it ain't.
Speaker 3 (26:18):
I'm telling you she could play shots in the NBA
if they get her on some screams. They opened her
up for some shots and open looks. Nancy Lieberman already
played in a men's league, and that wasn't taking the
man's league. It was a minor league. What was that,
I can't remember the name of it, but she played
Google didn't play more professional the NBA. They paid, not
(26:41):
the NBA, but it was a men's league. And in
this NBA, Chris, where you're not physical, where you can
put up threes, I'm telling you, I think she can
make threes in the NBA.
Speaker 4 (26:52):
I'm not saying she's going to be a star.
Speaker 1 (26:54):
I'm telling you you're crazy. And this is no disrespect
to Caitlin Clark. All right, what is Serena to Williams,
the greatest women's tennis player of all time?
Speaker 5 (27:03):
Say, when she.
Speaker 1 (27:04):
Was asked if she could beat men, did she say
she'd be ranked like seven hundredth or something like that
among men?
Speaker 3 (27:11):
I mean, come on, Rob would not asking her to
be the best player in the league.
Speaker 1 (27:14):
With you are so disrespecting the quality of play in
the NBA.
Speaker 4 (27:21):
I'm talking about the physical player of the year.
Speaker 1 (27:23):
It's still somewhat physical and you can speed quickness. Kaitlyn
Clark is not quick for an NBA player. Caitlyn Clark
is six feet, one hundred and fifty four pounds and
she is awesome, but she does she shouldn't even be
compared to NBA players. I hate to even say, but
(27:46):
she's not She's not good enough to play in the NBA.
Speaker 4 (27:50):
I think if the.
Speaker 1 (27:50):
Big the Big Three, got guys from minor leagues playing
overseas now who're twenty five, twenty six years old.
Speaker 4 (27:57):
She couldn't play with them.
Speaker 1 (27:59):
She play with the old guys that aren't in shape
and they just play playing around. But young guys that
play ball for a living professionals. No, she's not good enough.
And it's I ain't even say it that way, because why.
Speaker 5 (28:13):
Are we even talking about her being in the NBA.
Speaker 1 (28:17):
I mean, I asked you about Jimmer fordet Jimmer for
Debt was a phenomenal college basketball player against men.
Speaker 5 (28:25):
She was at the highest level.
Speaker 3 (28:27):
He wasn't the greatest college basketball player, but he wasn't.
Speaker 4 (28:31):
Playing against women.
Speaker 1 (28:32):
Rob He's playing against men or biologically stronger, bigger, faster,
all right, and he was not athletic enough to consistently
get his shot off in the NBA.
Speaker 5 (28:46):
What makes you think she would be.
Speaker 4 (28:48):
I think that with the way that they play the
game now.
Speaker 6 (28:52):
Like.
Speaker 4 (28:54):
No defense whatsoever. I know everybody thought when they.
Speaker 5 (28:57):
Sounds like you just want to take a shot at
the NBA.
Speaker 4 (29:00):
No, I think she's putting up shots from the logo.
We just saw. We just saw. It doesn't matter. We
just saw an All Star game where they didn't put
their hands up there.
Speaker 1 (29:12):
Comparing All Star games are real NBA open shots that
you see in the.
Speaker 4 (29:18):
NBA every night.
Speaker 1 (29:19):
All the team is going to focus our whole offense
around getting Caitlyn Clark open three.
Speaker 4 (29:27):
I didn't say that they had to.
Speaker 3 (29:29):
Fu see what he could do. I didn't say I
didn't you know what to start a team. But could
she play and put on She can't. She wouldn't get
off the bitch.
Speaker 4 (29:42):
That means unable to.
Speaker 5 (29:45):
Play. I mean she's not good enough.
Speaker 1 (29:47):
What the defense gets physical, she can play on it,
can get hurt, play on the perimeter. Rib you've had
some bad takes in your day. This takes the cake
by a mile.
Speaker 4 (30:06):
I'm telling you this is she's too good for the
w n b A. That to see.
Speaker 5 (30:11):
Let's see to your there and eat up the NB
w n b A.
Speaker 1 (30:15):
Let's see because Grinder was killing in college and she's great.
There's a lot of great players that have played in
the w n B A. Why what makes you think
she's too good. This is too good for the for
the w.
Speaker 4 (30:27):
N b A.
Speaker 5 (30:27):
Is she definitely better than Diana Tazzi? Is she definitely
better than she was?
Speaker 3 (30:33):
Yes, because they weren't shooting from the perimeter in this
way the game for this shooting right to a different
league though the game who was playing. It's a way
different league. Can you at least acknowledge that?
Speaker 1 (30:46):
Is it a different new basketball and its men and
it's still women and speed? Caitlyn Clark is not fast
or quick enough to play in the NBA.
Speaker 5 (30:56):
Forget the strength. Obviously she's not strong enough.
Speaker 1 (30:59):
I mean, comeing man, Husci Garden, who's to keeping in
front of us?
Speaker 3 (31:04):
There are plenty of guys who don't guard anybody. Every
night we talk about it on this radio station. I'm
talking about somebody to make shots from the perimeter.
Speaker 2 (31:14):
There are a lot of.
Speaker 1 (31:17):
The greatest dunkers aren't in the NBA. They can jump,
they can do things in the air, but they can't
play the game the greatest. There's a lot of guys
that are awesome shooters that are not in the NBA
because they gotta be. You gotta be quick enough to
get open and get your shot off and things like
that and shoot it when you are shooting it under
(31:40):
duress and under pressure, it's a lot different than shooting
it wide open. And she would be under major duress
because the men's game is so much faster than the
women's game.
Speaker 3 (31:51):
That doesn't mean that she wouldn't be able to get
some looks.
Speaker 5 (31:56):
Wipe the floor.
Speaker 4 (31:57):
With you don't tell act like Katelyn.
Speaker 1 (32:00):
And again, all due respect, she is a phenomenal player.
I don't know if she's the best women player women's
player ever, obviously Cheryl Miller. There are some others you
can mention, but she's in the conversation. But that doesn't
mean she could play in the NBA. And we really
shouldn't even diminish her by like I can't compare her
(32:21):
to these NBA players. The G League players are awesome.
She couldn't play in the G league? Are you sure
about that? I'm not convinced of that. I'm not convinced.
Speaker 5 (32:32):
Did you ever play organized basketball?
Speaker 8 (32:34):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (32:34):
Hey, I'm serious, Yes, but there's not on that level.
But I'm saying she's the greatest shooter that we've seen
it from the from the perimeter for women's game.
Speaker 4 (32:44):
But you can hold on, hold on.
Speaker 3 (32:46):
If you're gonna give somebody an opportunity, it should be her.
It should be her. Can we can we have her
go to training camp? Can we have her fail? Can
some NBA team give her an opportunity?
Speaker 4 (32:58):
Chris?
Speaker 3 (32:58):
What is so wrong with trying and giving her an opportunity?
Speaker 4 (33:02):
If she can't make.
Speaker 5 (33:04):
It, I think she should go to the w n
b A. It ain't Women's National Basketball Association for a reason.
Speaker 3 (33:11):
She's a woman, that's all right. It doesn't mean that
women haven't been able to do things that.
Speaker 5 (33:17):
We thought and demolished men or women.
Speaker 1 (33:21):
I mean before she might not even be the best
payer in the w n B A Gino ari Emma
says she's not even the best play in college.
Speaker 4 (33:29):
Well, that's because he's not one of hurt his players.
Speaker 1 (33:31):
But Page Becker a few years ago was more talented
than like Caitlyn. That's that's a legit argument. You might
Caitlyn might be better. But he ain't just blowing smoke.
Speaker 4 (33:44):
I mean, but I want to hear him say that.
Speaker 3 (33:49):
I'm talking about a coach who's not picking one of
his players.
Speaker 4 (33:53):
That's That's what I'm talking about.
Speaker 3 (33:54):
I'm not I take it with a great assault because
he didn't score, because player player all about.
Speaker 1 (34:02):
I mean, i think Kayln Clark is the best, but
I'm just saying Paige Beckers.
Speaker 4 (34:07):
Is she bad too,
