Speaker 2 (00:22):
You're listening to the best of the Odd Couple with
Chris Bruson and Ron Harker.
Speaker 1 (00:30):
A bad thing happened in the NFL. Yeah, I don't
care what anybody says. And you know, we've talked about
de Sean Watson and we it's been a disaster in Cleveland.
We've talked about that he should been cut or bench
to whatever they want to do. They just want to,
you know, pay them and not play him because he's
played horribly since he came to Cleveland for the most
(00:53):
part and become their starting quarterback.
Speaker 3 (00:55):
But they paid him a fully guaranteed contract.
Speaker 1 (00:58):
The ownership and management there isn't about getting its right right.
It's about being right right, and they're trying to prove
to people that they got it right because they signed
them and everybody thought, wow, with that defense and that
running game, all they need to do is get a quarterback,
add some water, stir and they're going to the Super Bowl.
That that was what they did. And so they went
(01:20):
out on a limb and they wind up costing them.
So he gets hurt yesterday, Rob, Rob what is it?
A acl What did he tear?
Speaker 3 (01:31):
Which is okay, horrible? So he's going to be out
for the year.
Speaker 1 (01:34):
And they get the same face because now he's injured
and he's not gonna play anyway, and you go forward here.
But the fans in Cleveland, what they did was despicable.
And I don't care what anybody says. Some people don't
they don't have an issue with it. If fans pay
their money, they get the book. When somebody is hurt,
(01:57):
Why would you cheer someone being I get to you
don't want him in there, you don't want to be
a quarterback. Please make a change. And the ownership and
the management and the coach wouldn't make a change.
Speaker 3 (02:08):
And the frustration of fans. But the idea that you
would cheer.
Speaker 1 (02:14):
Someone's demise and someone injuring themselves, that that I don't respect.
Speaker 4 (02:19):
Well, I think what we witnessed was something I think
we haven't addressed. And I go back to when Mike
Vick had his issues with the dogs and you know,
being a part of that that. I don't know syndicate
if you were. They were training, killing dogs, fighting dogs,
all of that, and everybody was upset. Remember if you
(02:40):
draft him or if you get for hitting some on
this team, I will never pay my money again, I'll
never come to a game. And you had fans expressing
that all over the place, and teams were scared of him.
He was toxic. They wouldn't draft, I mean not draft him.
They wouldn't sign Michael Vick. I think what we didn't
account for is this that Deshaun Watse. We kind of
just talked about the actual ownership signing him or the
general manign him. We haven't accounted for fans who maybe saying, hey,
(03:03):
I don't want this dude on my team. Now. Fans
are fickle winning cures all. If he was running around
here five and one, four and two, they might feel differently,
but I think they already made it. Didn't like the
signing guaranteed money on a guy that had multiple, multiple
accusations against him, and you gave him a guaranteed contract.
And now let's just call it what it really is.
(03:25):
He sucks. Yeah, so I'm not arguing, but I think
what we witnessed was we kind of forgot about the fans.
We talked about he's not playing well and they shouldn't
have given him all this money. They shouldn't they should
have considered not signing him because of all the allegations
and legal things. We kind of forgot about how the
fans might feel in all this.
Speaker 1 (03:43):
I hear that, But he's injured, he's down. This has
nothing to do with playing. Okay, like that, that's different.
Speaker 3 (03:52):
I hear you.
Speaker 1 (03:52):
They could have booted him to the well, he's upright
and he's throwing a pick, or he's fumbling the ball
or making an incomplete pas boot hell out of them.
Speaker 4 (04:01):
But when a man is down on.
Speaker 1 (04:03):
A football, on such a brutal sport, and you know
how things go and how people can get hurt on
any play, their careers could be over. It's a lot
of stuff. I just be that insensitive about somebody's health.
I'll never ever understand it less.
Speaker 4 (04:18):
Set it up. Yes, here's a couple of his teammates
talking about it.
Speaker 5 (04:22):
I am very upset with the reaction to a man
that has had the world against him for the past
four years, and he put his body and life on.
Speaker 4 (04:32):
The line for this city. You love this game.
Speaker 5 (04:36):
But when my first guy here, I knew these were
some amazing fans. But Deshaun was treated badly and now
he has to overcome another obstacle.
Speaker 4 (04:44):
See that's the problem. He is going to have to
overcome this obstacle. Bro Bro put himself in a position
with all the other drama they deserve, doesn't deserve to
be cheered.
Speaker 1 (04:55):
But what I'm saying to her, it would be like
the same thing somebody people going, uh, somebody's at the
top of a building about them. People yell and jump
like like seriously, that is discourt that. There's no way
that you should act like that when somebody's hurt.
Speaker 3 (05:11):
You don't know what it is.
Speaker 1 (05:12):
You don't know what really has happened to the guy,
You know what I mean, Like you don't know he's
down a man show.
Speaker 4 (05:18):
You're right, but also think people think highly of and
of fans. Fans. These are the same fans who pick
and choose when they want to have morale. You can
you can do anything you want, except if you're Colin
Kaepernick's stand up for injustice. Now they never want them
on their team again. Or you can be this guy
who actually Dante Starward and then it was a terrible situation,
(05:41):
but drunk kills somebody, but he can play. Or this
person domestic violence and throwing his girl on guns, but hey,
he's good on Sundays. I don't care because we're winning
with that guy. You think highly, much more highly of
fans than I do. These are the same fans when
I go to games. They're fighting in the stands, they're booing,
they're cussing players out. We just talked about the throwing
stuff and the Padres Dodgers. I just don't.
Speaker 3 (06:05):
I just don't. I just don't think.
Speaker 1 (06:06):
And from a morale standpoint, I just don't think. I
just think it's about human beings. It ain't even about
no football game. I'm sorry, and and all that other
stuff you're talking about. It's bad behavior, I get that,
But decency when someone's down, that's all I'm talking about.
I'll never accept that. I don't care how much you
hate the guy. I don't care how much you despise him.
(06:28):
I don't care what like, when someone's down and hurt
there's no way that should be acceptable. What what world
are we living in? You could how many times have
we seen opponents do something, you know, for against your
team or whatever, and fans will still find it in
their heart to give the guy a chill.
Speaker 4 (06:47):
What he gets.
Speaker 3 (06:48):
I'm gonna give you understand.
Speaker 4 (06:50):
I'm gonna tell you why Dumar Hammling goes down and
the entire world is all in. Everybody's stopping, everybody's watching,
everybody's praying, players that are crying, everybody's in because tomorrow
Hamlin to no offense. Was it kind of a nameless player.
We didn't really know him. It was just a man
guy down there playing hard and got hurt. Deshaun Watson
has all the issues, the names, the allegation, the jokes,
(07:14):
the memes, and like I said, for his team for
the last you know years, so has been terrible. That's
what you're gonna get. I'm agreeing. It shouldn't be human
decency says somebody's down there. I always something about human
decency and and it ain't.
Speaker 1 (07:31):
You don't have to He's not once he's down on
that field, he's not a player.
Speaker 3 (07:35):
He's not playing. He's a human being.
Speaker 1 (07:37):
Who's been injured and at the very least I've covered
I've been doing this for forty years. I've covered a
million games, and I've seen crowds on the road when
they get somebody up off the floor or right shields
and they clap. But do they have the allegations he does? Yeah,
(07:58):
because but that they shouldn't matter.
Speaker 4 (07:59):
But I'm I'm just saying it though, I get I'm
with you, but I'm saying you're for seventy five thousand
people who that's what they're.
Speaker 1 (08:08):
Team out at that moment, Like because they could boom
every time he touched the ball if it bothered them
that much. Okay, because we've seen that in a basketball game.
Right when Kobe Padman was going through his thing, they
could have done they were booing every like or some
other player whatever, Right, they booed every time they touched
the ball if there was some player that had a
problem with So if they were doing that all year long,
(08:30):
maybe I would buy into it.
Speaker 3 (08:31):
That's not the reaction that they had been given.
Speaker 4 (08:33):
It because you know what they were giving them. You
finally got what you deserve. And I'm not saying I'm
with her. Human decency should be something we all strive
for want to see that ain't the case. That ain't
the case in sports, that ain't the case in politics.
As you see it, we get two weeks, a little
over two weeks from an election, human decency unfortunately is
(08:53):
out the window. And as a parent, I'm trying to
trying to keep this thing alive. But my goodness, you
start to get more more concerned about this. So I'm
with you, as in the heart of Kelvin the person
that I am, I understand, but also have been living
long enough to know fans ain't like that. And you
got them saw stuff. They're drunk, and you've been performing
well and you had those allegations that was what was
(09:15):
gonna happen. And for Jameis Winston, who's supporting him as
he should, that's his guy, as his teammate, trying to
get past the allegations, get past things. You know for
a fact people ain't viewing it. How Jamis Winston fused it.

Speaker 3 (09:39):
Let's get this party started.
Speaker 1 (09:42):
And let's start with football and the Kansas City Chiefs,
Rob G.
Speaker 3 (09:47):
They were making moves because we already know their.
Speaker 1 (09:49):
Offense is stinky. Patrick Mahomes is worse than Daniel Jones.
Speaker 4 (09:56):
Oh yeah, we don't know this. You know this. I
don't know this, Rob G.
Speaker 3 (10:02):
There was they made a trade, correct, Bob G's gonna
set it up for.
Speaker 4 (10:07):
They did make a big trade.
Speaker 6 (10:08):
It was probably all you were sleeping, rob just to
be honest with you, because how they decided, let's drop
this one at six am Eastern time.
Speaker 3 (10:16):
But in any event, yeah, that's really early.
Speaker 4 (10:20):
All Pro Pro Bowl.
Speaker 6 (10:22):
Potentially washed wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins is going from the
Tennessee Titans to the Kansas City Chiefs for a conditional
twenty twenty five fifth round pick that could become a
fourth rounder if the Chiefs number one make the Super
Bowl and number two. Hopkins plays at least sixty percent
of the snaps for the Chiefs, and in order to
facilitate the deal, the Titans also picked up two and
(10:45):
a half million of hopkins remaining eight million dollars salary,
which means they are literally paying him to play for
another team.
Speaker 3 (10:53):
Okay, and there it is So if the minions who
are like.
Speaker 4 (10:57):
What badr mall? We got it. We need a receiver, help, we.
Speaker 1 (11:01):
Got it, Pump the brakes as usual, the Kansas City
Chiefs to the bare minimum. I didn't even know DeAndre
Hopkins was still in the league. He only w is
a forty. He's not even a starter anymore. He gets
like forty percent of the snaps.
Speaker 4 (11:18):
I did it. Really, that's who you go get.
Speaker 1 (11:22):
Stop shopping at Goodwill, go to Sacks Fifth Avenue. That's
where the Jets win. That's where the Buffalo Bills went.
And guess what, Kelvin, guess who's available? Cooper Cupp is available?
How about Cooper Cup? In Kansas City, they had Patrick
Mahomes sign a bogus deal telling them, hey, take less money,
(11:46):
we'll keep.
Speaker 4 (11:47):
The band together. You have a chance to win and
win and win.
Speaker 1 (11:51):
And all they do now is they bring back rejects
and return items. That's what they do. Hey, kareem Hu,
we didn't want we sent you packing. Come on back juju. Hey,
instead of getting a pack of juju, be's at the
movie theater.
Speaker 4 (12:08):
We'll get a receiver who we didn't want.
Speaker 1 (12:10):
That's what the Kansas City chiefs do, and it's a
disrespect to a talent like Patrick Mahomes. He shouldn't have
to play around with leftovers. Go and buy him good groceries.
Go to the store and get him top shelf. Cooper
Cup is available, Make it happen. Stop being cheap. All
(12:33):
of the Super Bowls you won, all the money you've saved.
What are they trying to do? I think it's terrible.
DeAndre Hopkins. I'm not mad at him. I'm happy for
him if he could go over there or whatever, but
that's not who they should go get when Cooper Cup
is available.
Speaker 3 (12:49):
I'm sorry.
Speaker 4 (12:50):
Well, okay, so everything you just said and yelled at
me about I don't necessarily disagree with. However you brought up.
Going from Goodwill to sax fith right, not a shopping
at Macy's. It ain't nothing wrong with Macy's. Okay. You
can go in there and get you a nice Saturday
night outfit at Macy's. You got a big event, you
can go to Macy's. You got an interview Daggan, you
can go to Macy's and come out. Okay, So I
(13:12):
think you need you need to pump the brakes a
little bit because right now, what they're doing is getting
some pieces at a time. I remember my mom used
to always tell me.
Speaker 3 (13:20):
Season if he's not even starting anymore.
Speaker 4 (13:22):
Because we all know he's better than not starting. Let's
stop there. Let's not act like DeAndre Hopkins. It's still
not one of the more skilled receivers in the in
the league.
Speaker 3 (13:30):
Let's not act like.
Speaker 4 (13:32):
Let's not act like current DeAndre Hopkins, who's not happy
in his current situation, is not still great. It's like this,
you want to bring up your favorite quarterback of all time,
Delote Tom Brady. Tom Brady got a Randy Moss. Now
I'm not saying rad DeAndre Hopkins Randy Moss, but if
you would have been going based off how Randy Moss
looked with the Oakland Raiders, you would have thought he
(13:54):
was washed. He had like forty five or seven at all?
Tom Great, are you kidding me? Dotre Hopkins not off.
I'm gonna say Randy Moss.
Speaker 1 (14:02):
And you know what, that was a team that was
doing it with guys working at dunkin Donuts, and they
finally went on that big time.
Speaker 4 (14:10):
Receiving unyielded time. I said, Rob, go ahead and say
what you got to say Randy Moss is top one, two,
three receivers of all time, however you want to play them.
I have no argument one, two or three. So I'm
not saying DeAndre Hopkins is that. What I'm saying is
I know he's better than his situation. Similarly, how we
know Amari Cooper is better than what was going on
with him in Cleveland. DeAndre Hopkins automatically is elevated once
(14:35):
he goes and played with Andy Reid that offense. And
Patrick Mahomes you know it. I know it that everybody
listening knows that. So you're also assuming it's over to
your point. Maybe they're cooking right now, trying to get
Cooper Cup. Maybe they're working some things out where we
look up in another days or two times and they've gotten.
Now DeAndre Hopkins on one end and Cooper Cup on another,
(14:55):
And now we're having a whole entire different conversation. And
Patrick mahone now has some real things to collect cook with.
He has the filet vannon and a lobster tail to
cook with. So I hear you, and I'm in actual agreement.
I think the Kansas City chiefs. I told you this before.
They've been able to get away with the minimum, but
obviously injuries have hurt them this year. But because they
(15:17):
keep winning, and I think there's a part of them
that's like, well, shoot, we've had Tyreek Kill. We won't
we not didn't have Tyreek Hill, we won. We had
all the butterfinger receivers last year, we won. So I
do think they need a reminder that it's okay to
be good, it's okay to be great with defense. You
can still have some great pieces on the outside for
Patrick Mahomes, and I think DeAndre Hopkins is just a step.
(15:38):
I still think they're gonna pull off one more thing.
If it's Cooper Cup or somebody else outs out there
that's a good veteran receiver that can help them, I
think it's on the way. And I agree if they
can go get Cooper Cup, that's scary. Now you're scary.
You got Cooper Cup and DeAndre Hopkins with all the
other pieces. Given the way that.
Speaker 1 (15:56):
They have been pinching pennies, you really believe that I'm
deep down serious.
Speaker 4 (16:00):
Well the Rams, because I'm not tell you what the
chiefs the RAMS has said that they're willing to take
some of that money with Cooper Cup. And that's why
I do believe.
Speaker 3 (16:08):
Why wouldn't you just wait on Cooper Cup? Why wouldn't
you make that move?
Speaker 4 (16:13):
Well, because I don't think you can necessarily just wait.
Obviously there's so maybe you don't have the exact thing
they won back. Cooper Cup is a better receiver now
than DeAndre Hopkins. The Hopkins, So I don't think you
can just guarantee. Maybe they're working out. What do you
need or you need a second round pick? Okay? Well
what do you need? How much money?
Speaker 3 (16:28):
Okay?
Speaker 4 (16:28):
And I think you have to work these things out.
Where DeAndre Hopkins might have just been sitting there an
easier thing that can happen. I can't listen. I told
you in the club you can't miss a for show
thing trying to get missed next thing, and I for
show thing in this situation was probably DeAndre Hopkins. Okay.
Speaker 1 (16:43):
DeAndre Hopkins only fifteen receptions for one hundred and seventy
three yards and one touchdown in six games, and for
prospective forty nine ers number three receiver Jennings right, Juwan
Jennings had more yards in one game. I'm one hundred
and seventy five, then Hopkins Atta's entire twenty twenty four year.
(17:04):
So you think he's Macy's. I think he's goodwill, and
I think the Chiefs need to stop on it so cheap.
Speaker 4 (17:11):
You know he ain't good with with Patrick Mahomes. I'll
give you he's goodwill with some other people. With Patrick
Mahomes Andy reiding that offense, he is absolutely not goodwill.
Stop it. Goodwill will be shocked. If they got this,
they would think some Beverly Hills movie star accidentally put
some twelve hundred dollars a leather coat in a Goodwill
on accident. If they got this.
Speaker 2 (17:30):
Fox Sports Radio has the best sports talk lineup in

Speaker 3 (17:42):
I want to talk about what happened last night.
Speaker 1 (17:44):
We saw Bronnie James big night on the court for
him and lebron and I don't know, it just didn't
move me. But Kelvin, you could tell me. Yeah, I
was reading through a lot of stuff. Most people weren't moved,
but I guess somewhere you were tell me.
Speaker 4 (18:02):
About it was moved. Man, absolutely, I was moving. I disagree.
I think most people will either move or just thought
it was a pleasant moment. Like I'm not saying this
was heal the world Michael Jackson type song We Are
the World and it changed history of mankind. No, but
it was a really cool moment that folks were actually
excited to see and just to see like, wow, this
actually happened. And uh you see listen man, you talk
(18:24):
about Lebron who has been really trailblazing his own way,
and that he the stuff that he's been able to
do as a player on and off the court. Uh,
this was one of those things that he kind of
said I wanted to love to see happen years ago.
We all kind of thought, yeah, it sounds cute, but
you know, I don't know if it really will happen.
And here we are and it actually happened. And to me, again,
what was the moment for you?
Speaker 3 (18:44):
What?
Speaker 4 (18:45):
What? What? Seeing them? Yeah, both of them coming on
the North playing no play or anything. It didn't know
absolutely not, but that No, it didn't have to be
like I mean, obviously it'd have been. I literally if
you're drawing their script for Hollywood. Yeah, Lebron gets to steal,
and he throws allu to his son as if he's
throwing the passing the torch or something. Yeah, I'd be
iconic if I'm riding it out, which may happen at
(19:06):
some point, but didn't have to happen last night. Last night,
all they needed to do was exactly what they did.
Play together. It's historic. It was great, and this is
why I keep telling you nobody has expectations in the
sense of, like, man, they're gonna ball out together. Lebron's
gonna average twenty five, He's gonna average fifteen. No, it's
just something that happened. He's a part of the team.
He gets to work with his dad, and we'll see
(19:28):
if he gets out there and actually make some plays
within the next year two because Lebron ain't going nowhere,
and Leron Garanie has a guaranteed contract, so they have
a chance to do this again year two and maybe
he's playing more, maybe he's a little bit more of
a rotational piece. But this was just awesome to see
man experience, and most people enjoyed it. The building was
standing up and all waiting for the moment. Every time
he shot, think he shot one or two shots. They
(19:49):
wanted to see it go in. He should have made
that tip. He had a tip early on that was it.
I didn't think he could jumped high he got up there.
But yeah, I just think it was a special moment.
The NBA is embraced the Lakers clearly, and I think
fans embrace and I also think fans are smart enough
to have put not put enough in it as if
this is about to be them running starting together and
playing eighty two games together. Moment that it was cute,
(20:11):
we moved on.
Speaker 1 (20:12):
Yeah, I think there are a lot of people just
looked at it as a photo op. Even Colin said
it was a Kardashian moment kind of thing, and that's
what it felt like.
Speaker 3 (20:21):
It just felt like.
Speaker 1 (20:22):
And we had who was it who called up earlier
who said it wasn't the history.
Speaker 4 (20:27):
Oh yeah, I forgot his name, but he said it
was manufactured.
Speaker 1 (20:29):
From Atlanta, Tim Chili. Tim, it was manufactured, And that's
what it felt like. It really felt like this was
kind of set up and it could have been a
great moment, or it could have been greater. I say,
if people didn't have any skepticism on whether or not
Browny really belonged there, and I think that's the part
that people still can't get over or to embrace.
Speaker 4 (20:51):
But Rob, honestly, I genuinely mean this. That is being
overblown in that you know what I mean, But that's
in europe opinion. That that's that's your opinion, And let
me just say that's your opinion. For you, it doesn't
bother you.
Speaker 3 (21:07):
You don't care.
Speaker 1 (21:08):
You just you're happy because Lebron did what he wanted
to do. You're a Lebron fan. But for people who
really love basketball and the competitive nature of it, they
feel like the game has been damp and cheapen altered.
That that you gave a spot to a kid who's
not ready doesn't mean that he was never going to
(21:28):
be ready for it. No one's saying that Brianni can't
work his way in and there's an opportunity for him.
But a lot of people just feel like, what are
we doing here in the n b A where we're
giving away roster spots because of a player Like Shaq
said on that on that on that studio set, you
(21:48):
don't think Shaq wanted his kid to make it to
the NBA.
Speaker 3 (21:52):
And there's a ton of other NBA players who have.
Speaker 1 (21:55):
Kids as well, who would love for their kids, right,
got a Pippen and and there's all kinds of other
players whose kids are didn't get that opportunity. And they
could sit there and say, oh, that's cool whatever, deep
down they wish they could do the same thing.
Speaker 3 (22:12):
And deep down they know why.
Speaker 4 (22:15):
You're bringing up You're bringing up things that aren't even possibilities.
Number one, none of them were in the NBA to
make this happen. Talking about what I'm saying, but anyway,
that literally makes no sense. NBA players sons are in
the league saying all time great, but that has nothing.
That's conversation. The conversation that's father and son playing. Scottie
(22:39):
Pippens son is in the NBA, so is Dale Curry's son,
so is Michael Thompson's son. That has nothing. That the
conversation is playing with your son, not can my son
make the NBA? Has a chance?
Speaker 1 (22:51):
About even your given an all time great kids a
spot on it.
Speaker 4 (22:55):
That was not That was not what happened last night,
Rob Harder. Part where happened was a father and son
play together because you are history was them playing together?
Speaker 1 (23:07):
No, But I'm trying to tell you why people won't
embrace it. That's what I'm trying to get to you. Yes,
it was historic from the standpoint that has never been done.
Speaker 3 (23:15):
But the reason that is not the.
Speaker 1 (23:17):
Fuzzy feel good story is it because of the way
Bronnie got in.
Speaker 3 (23:21):
That's what you don't understand is.
Speaker 4 (23:23):
Because of fatigue umpt into. Koupo is in the NBA
simply because he's Giannis under the drafted before. I didn't
ask you when he was rafted. I said, why is
he currently in the NBA? He's only currently he was drafted.
Cow stop playing everybody who Everybody knows he's only in
(23:43):
the NBA. He was drafted by the Nicks. God's telling
me he was drafted. I said, he's only in the NBA.
I didn't say, get into the league? How did he
get into the league? Every wed get everybody and they
don't stay in the league. That's the craziest thing ever.
Just because you're drafted does not mean you stay in
the lead. You don't draft have to never even step
foot on the court, let alone stay.
Speaker 1 (24:02):
In the rog're lak You're a Lakers fan, all right,
you're a Lakers fan. You and brace Lebron when he
got here. You're a Lakers fan, you want your team
to win all of that. Did it move you? Was
all I'm asking you. Did it move?
Speaker 4 (24:15):
You know?
Speaker 3 (24:16):
Just a lot of people I talked to today, they just.
Speaker 1 (24:20):
Weren't moved by it. It was just, okay, it's a
photo op. They took a picture whatever. I don't even
remember Ken Griffy Junior and Senior taking a picture before
the game.
Speaker 4 (24:29):
That's why I'm blown away that everybody's making the people
who are hating it and writing ops about it op eds.
It's no one really really cares because he's under the game.
It's a great historic moment. Wow, that was nice. He's
going to the G League. Like I told you, what's
the big deal? That's my whole thing. Y'all acting like
he's starting. We're gonna draft him. He's gonna start and
(24:49):
play forty eight minutes of eighty two games. That was
what I That's what I would be like, All right, Yo,
this is wild. Dude got drafted fifty fifth, played two
minutes and thirty six seconds. Eventually he's gon to go
down the G League in the next few games. What's
the issue? Nobody was saying this is the most magical
moment in NBA history. All they were saying, Yo, this
is pretty dope. We see a father son play together.
We used to see his little kid run around the court.
(25:11):
We remember seeing him around and now he's playing with
his pops. Yo, that's pretty dope. That's it. That's it.
Speaker 1 (25:16):
Well man, that he didn't change the world. But that's
the way you look at it. There are other people
who feel differently. I love to talk to as many
as we can who really felt If you felt like
you would move by it, then that's your opinion and
I gotta respect it. But there are a lot of
people I talked to today who didn't feel that way,
who just thought it was a photo op and it
was more about Lebron. It wasn't a magical moment for Bronni.
(25:39):
It was about Lebron. So that he has something else
to say, Look what I did, That's what.
Speaker 3 (25:43):
It felt like.
Speaker 4 (25:45):
If you think Bronni did not enjoy, it's not what
I'm saying. No, you just said it wasn't a big.
Speaker 3 (25:51):
It was about This is about Lebron.
Speaker 4 (25:53):
And Bronni doesn't have an amazing moment playing with his
father dude, First of all, think about who his father
is to him now, Rob Parker, not Kelvin Washington. That's
his dad, simply his father who he loves at Myers
and looks up to. And he got a chance to
play with his pops in a real game on a
team for a moment and have this special bonding moment.
(26:15):
How do you think he's not enjoying that love and
that knowing this is only gonna last for a couple
of seasons max. Before Lebron retires, before Brony maybe gets
traded and real life kicks in. He absolutely's enjoying it.
And I don't think it's any more than simply that
a dope cool moment where guys playing with his father.
We've never seen it before. His father has been the
face of the league for twenty years. This is pretty cool.
Speaker 1 (26:39):
This is what This is what a team that's gonna
be ninth in the Western Conference is doing. I mean,
like this is where you question the Lakers, like this
is important to a team that has to go into
the play in in order to get to the playoffs.
With Anthony you see him David yesterday. Just the idea
that that's important to them.
Speaker 4 (26:58):
It's important to them because now, if you know the
as you should, historically, they are a family franchise, both
figuratively and literally, meaning their family run and they do.
They consider their guys family. They take care of Kobe
Bryant because of what he meant to them. They took
care of other players. They know what they Magic Johnson,
Kurt Rambis' wife is a part of the organization. Lebron
(27:18):
is part of those the family now and they're looking
out for their family. God, I'm not saying all organizations
will do then I completely agree that maybe everyone doesn't.
But this is how the Lakers, right or wrong, have
conducted business now for thirty five, forty five years, and
this is just how they handle it. They become a
family run business who do family things for people who
are they adopt into their family. It's Magic Johnson in
(27:41):
and out there business president, not president. They're not there
Kurt Rambis doing as a bench coach. Next thing you know,
his wife's a part of the team. She's been there
thirty years. This is just what they do. So to me,
I'm shocked in anybody shocked by this? Have you not
watched the Lakers for forty years?
Speaker 1 (27:55):
Yeah, people are shocked when people get a roster spot
in the NBA.
Speaker 3 (27:58):
Yes, people are shocked.
