Speaker 2 (00:19):
You're listening to the Best of the Odd Couple.

Speaker 3 (00:25):
Just to give you context as to how bad it
was not just for bilab for North Carolina as a
whole again, thirty four point loss, second largest regular season
loss of Belichick's head coaching career. The forty eight points
they gave up the most Belichick has ever allowed in
his head coaching career. For reference, he's coached four hundred
and sixty eight regular season games and he's only even

(00:46):
trailed by thirty four plus points, which was the end
result four times in five hundred and eleven total games
as a head coach.

Speaker 4 (00:54):
And if that wasn't bad enough.

Speaker 3 (00:56):
North Carolina, which as we know, is not what you
would call a football factory. Even with that said, historically
bad night for the Heels. Okay, here we go. North
Carolina allowed the most points in his season opener last night,
forty one in their program's history. The next closest was

(01:18):
in two thousand and one. They also lost by their
greatest margin in any game since two thoy and eighteen.
And here's the last one for all you, Bill Belichick,
Truther Chapel. Bill mac Brown, his predecessor, had never lost
the game by that margin during his second stint in
North Carolina, and of course he was asked unceremoniously in

(01:40):
favor of me.

Speaker 5 (01:41):
I thought I saw somewhere where they gave up seventy
three points in the game. Is that not true with
mac Brown in his first in this was his second? Okay,
all right, I was just gonna say I thought I
read that somewhere. I just want to make sure, so
all around awful, And I came away with one thing
and one thing only.

Speaker 4 (01:57):
I'm rooting.

Speaker 5 (02:00):
Openly rooting for Bill Belichick to fail at North Carolina.
And let me tell you why. I have nothing personal
against Bill Belichick. I don't know the guy. He's never
done anything to me wrong. I know people always say, oh.

Speaker 4 (02:13):
What did you sleep with your wife? Why are you
so antitist?

Speaker 5 (02:16):
Or that?

Speaker 4 (02:16):
No hoodies? Okay, problems.

Speaker 5 (02:19):
No, I don't know the man personally. It ain't about
the cheating that he did in New England. That ain't
the reason. Okay, it's the stuff at North Carolina that
I'm rooting against. You know what I'm rooting against. What's
that nepotism, cronyism. Look at his look at his staff, friends, family, kids,

(02:43):
all this stuff. I'm rooting against nepotism. I'm rooting against
his girlfriend being in the huddle or being on the field.
Bill Belichick is seventy three years old. I don't remember
ever seeing his wife on the sidelines run a game.

Speaker 4 (03:00):
Tell me I'm wrong. Have you ever seen her?

Speaker 5 (03:03):
She was casper the ghosts if she was out there,
because I never saw her. And this girlfriend is robed
sasheting up and down. Bill is like, okay, he was
there with one coach. Did you see the coach turn
away because you know, maybe she's saying something.

Speaker 4 (03:17):
He turned away because he was like, maybe I shouldn't hear. Ray,
you're on a football field, you're a coach, this is
his girlfriend.

Speaker 5 (03:27):
What are you turning away from the conversation with Bill
Belichick there in the center of the field.

Speaker 4 (03:33):
And uh.

Speaker 5 (03:36):
And the other part is them trying to make money
off the Hulu you know, documentary, and I'm against all
of that. Like like coach football, that stuff should come,
and it comes if you were to turn his program around,
but not the other stuff. And then the last thing
they had to goal the audacity to go get a

(03:58):
trademark for gold Digger.

Speaker 4 (04:00):
They should have got a.

Speaker 5 (04:01):
Trademark for Golden Corral because that's where she would be
working if it wasn't for Bill.

Speaker 4 (04:06):
How about that. So I'm against all of that.

Speaker 5 (04:10):
I'm on the record i want North Carolina to lose
every game that Bill Belichick is involved in because Rob
Parker is anti nepotism, anti your girlfriend running the football
team when she has no business being out there, anti
making money and doing all this other stuff when you

(04:32):
haven't done Jack there with the Hulu and her on
social media.

Speaker 6 (04:36):
Look at it.

Speaker 5 (04:36):
How well we're doing our documentary and all this.

Speaker 4 (04:42):
I'm against it.

Speaker 5 (04:43):
All this is so unlike I was never a Bill
Belichick guy from the cheating scandal.

Speaker 4 (04:49):
Say this.

Speaker 5 (04:51):
I'm not standing for. And I'm telling you right now,
I'm openly hoping that this winds up being a total
disaster for Bill Belichick.

Speaker 1 (05:01):
Well, let me tell you something. We were sitting here
yesterday we talked about Chapel Hill Bill and looked Mark
like kill Bill. To me, it was a massacre. It
was a beat down. It was terrible, it was embarrassing.
And I believe it's only a bit of what's to
come now. I don't think every single game will be
such a widespread in the score like this. But you elaborated,
You said so many things. I'm just gonna elaborate on

(05:23):
a few things. The reason why this isn't gonna work
is because multiple reasons. One the catch twenty two of
it all. He needs to win fast in order for
players to go, oh shoot, look what he's doing, and
maybe he can usher in an NFL factory line and
get guys to the league. But in order to win fast,
you gotta have players. But you gotta get players when
you win, and you know what, that takes time, and

(05:44):
you know what, he don't have time.

Speaker 4 (05:46):
So it's not about to happen.

Speaker 5 (05:47):
You think anybody who plays high school football watched that
game last night? I said, oh yeah, I want to
go to North.

Speaker 1 (05:52):
Camp if that was a kid who was like, yo,
North Carolina, Bill Bell. He's got six Super Bowl rings.
They just ripped up their letter in the intent to
go play it just got ripped. Let me tell you
what it's in a bunch of shutters right now, the
intent to play for UNC. They might as well call
it unk. I'm not playing for the unk. I'm not
playing for him right now. Now, let me continue on
why this isn't gonna work. What I'm also tripping on

(06:15):
is you can't teach you all old dog new tricks.
At least that's what I thought they lied to me,
because this old dog told me no distractions locked in.
We're on the Cincinnati all this. Now, I see hims
on book tours. He's got it shows with his girl.
He's arguing in the Robert Kraft like he had at
seventy something year old, arguing with an eighty something year old.

Speaker 4 (06:37):
He's doing this, he's doing that. I've seen him more.

Speaker 1 (06:39):
In the last year with interviews than I've seen him
in twenty something years, popping on everybody's podcast interviews and shows,
which is fine if that's what he was gonna do,
which might have been alright at TV, doing that a
little different, get a different spend of different side of Bill.
Now we got his girlfriend. We never like you said,
we never really saw wives or anybody. Now she's popping
up everywhere. Ever saw a wife or a girl friend. Absolutely,

(07:01):
And then this was also what was bad about the
kill Bill massacre. If there was nothing else you could
hang your hat on with him, it was defense like
that was that has been in staple. It was with
the Staple with the Giants when he Bill Parcells, when
they won those six Super Bowls. Look at their defense
was top five every year. Absolutely, And that's one of

(07:21):
the things that Tom Brady had in his favor was
dagg If nothing else is working, I know, I got
a great defense and a great special team.

Speaker 4 (07:28):
The defense was trash.

Speaker 1 (07:30):
So if they were out there and they lost, you know,
okay twenty to three, you all right, what're working on offense?
It takes time, okay, But the defense solid held on
only twenty You know, that's not bad. You can't get
beat down like that in all facets of the game.
And we were talking about this yesterday. They showed the
clock ticking. They said they hadn't had a first down
and in since eighteen eight seventeen PM or whatever it was.

Speaker 5 (07:51):
It went to a two hours of a regular time,
not football time.

Speaker 4 (07:57):
Two hours.

Speaker 1 (07:58):
So that that was the bat to me, you at
least expect a showing in some facet like man, all right, well, shoot, defensively,
they're gonna be a problem.

Speaker 5 (08:06):
You know.

Speaker 4 (08:06):
They gotta work on and get the quarterback. He's a transfer. Okay.

Speaker 1 (08:08):
It wasn't nothing to hang yet on what it wasn't
a hat hook in sight. Couldn't hang my hat on nothing.
He made MJ fade away. MJ.

Speaker 4 (08:16):
You know how he loved the fader. He did it again.

Speaker 1 (08:18):
He phase just left and I'm gonna get on the
bot of here. Bill, I'm gonna get some sleep, and
they don't go to a cigar lounge in the middle
of now.

Speaker 4 (08:24):
You know you love the cigar lounge. No, that was terrible.
After that, I don't know.

Speaker 1 (08:28):
LT left up crazy. What we saw LT at the
Super Bowl. Don't have him come sack you. And where
we're about to be in the Bay Area this year
coming up Super Bowl? What are you about to say
about LT.

Speaker 4 (08:40):
After that performance? You might go to rehab.

Speaker 5 (08:42):
I'm just saying, see c rob g football rehab.

Speaker 4 (08:47):
Make it six years.

Speaker 2 (08:50):
Now.

Speaker 1 (08:50):
I gotta jump in the middle between him and LT.
He gonna treat me like is any give us.

Speaker 4 (08:54):
I said football rehab that he don't want to watch
any bad for it.

Speaker 1 (08:56):
And you're gonna be in physical Rehabah, that was work,
working on your back, stretching you out. No, man, listen.
The only thing I'll disagree with you on.

Speaker 4 (09:04):
You know me.

Speaker 1 (09:05):
We've argued about this a million times. I don't mind nepatist.
Oh I do, I know, but I don't know. I'm
gonna get my cousin, my nephew to do. Do your show,
do your job.

Speaker 4 (09:14):
Who's sitting next to me right now? Who's sitting next
to me right now? Who's sitting next to me right now?
That's not nepotism. That's my student, Rob G. Dylan?

Speaker 1 (09:21):
What's the student? Shout out to Dylan? Watch the countdown
before next thing? I know he caused me. He's like, yeah,
remember Dylan, Yeah yeah, I was just saying, man, maybe
you know what I'm saying, were gonna bring them on?
And he gonna be like, you know what I'm saying that?
And Dylan gonna have a job here, Rob G. How
many people work we used to be around, Rob and
I got a job here, DAG. I did show him
two times last week and Rot and Weiss. What you

(09:43):
got to say to that, I'm not related to any
of those people.

Speaker 4 (09:45):
I don't know.

Speaker 1 (09:47):
Ian went to usc usc christ Us here all lost
white in US somewhere all black people got some white
in America.

Speaker 4 (09:56):
Body.

Speaker 5 (09:56):
I'm not related. That's not how it goes. If Dylan
got a job in because he's talented.

Speaker 1 (10:02):
Dylan, you are talented, but you also know Rob, which
is perfectly fine. I don't have a problem with a Dylan.
That's my point.

Speaker 2 (10:08):

Speaker 4 (10:49):
Podcast or wherever you get your podcast.

Speaker 3 (10:52):
You know, the only way to celebrate the return of
real football is to announce the return of fake boxing.

Speaker 4 (10:58):
There you go, that's what that is. Last you said that, Robjet.

Speaker 3 (11:01):
According to TMZ Sports, which is being confirmed now by
multiple outlets.

Speaker 5 (11:05):
TMZ is right a lot. Yes, I tell people that. Yes,
I told people that all the time. When Kobe did
you know, the people like, oh, it's a TMZ, I said, dude,
to do no trust me? So right? Is they paid
for stories too, They know what's going on. Trust me.

Speaker 3 (11:24):
Coming up in the spring of twenty twenty six, boxing
legends Mike Tyson and Floyd Mayweather Junior will compete in
an exhibition match. Floyd actually released a statement to TMZ.
I'm gonna read it to you in part quote, I've
been doing this for thirty years. There has been a
single fighter that can tarnish my legacy. You already know

(11:47):
that I'm gonna do something. It's gonna be big, it's
gonna be legendary. I'm the best in the business of boxing.
This exhibition will give the fans what they want. Guys
who wanted this fight.

Speaker 5 (12:01):
Nobody wanted it, nobody whatsoever. Nobody wants this fight, and
the idea of it is repulsive. It is once again
these guys telling boxing fans that you your garbage. That's
what they're telling box your garbage, your suckers. You don't

(12:25):
know what you're watching. You'll pay for anything. We could
throw anything at you and you'll buy the pay per view,
or you'll pay for whatever streaming service or whatever. Then
sign up for it and you'll go to Vegas and
you'll pay the money or whatever. Your suckers. That's what
they have. No regard, no respect for the boxing fans.

(12:48):
Don't do it, you hear me, Don't do it. I
don't care if you have nothing to do that night,
don't do it. Do not give them one thin dime nothing,
I don't care what it is. Stop the madness. We

(13:10):
can't allow us to continue. At some point you gotta
say hell no, Mike Tyson, did you what did we
watch the last time you fought? It was god awful.
We're not interested. It's okay to turn turn your head.
You don't have to cough, but just turn your head

(13:33):
and say I'm not interested. I don't care who they were.
They might have been great in their day, but no longer.
And if they make any big money off of his,
shame on you. You're the sucker, You're the jump. You're

(13:53):
the guys who have decided that you're gonna pad their
pockets for a bs A boxing exhibition. They know they
can't even call it a real fight because it ain't real.

Speaker 4 (14:04):
And you know what the exhibition is.

Speaker 5 (14:06):
Don't hurt me, bro, We're gonna dance around here for
a few rounds. You'll land a few punches. I'll land
a few punches. If I have to go there and
lay in front of the arena and you have to
step over me to get in, I'll do it. If
that stopped you from going in. Do not do this,
boxing fans, please, I applore you.

Speaker 4 (14:33):
Listen.

Speaker 1 (14:34):
Representative Parker, Congressman Parker, presidential candidate Parker.

Speaker 4 (14:39):
I don't have to add too much more. These are
two old boxers.

Speaker 1 (14:43):
Once forty nine, one fifty nine, Tyson be about sixty
when this fight happens, or did I say fight this
pity pat happens. Let me say this. We didn't want
to watch the end of Floyd's real boxing season because
he wasn't boxing. We didn't even want to watch the
last handful of years of Floyd supposed to be throwing hands.

Speaker 4 (15:00):
We didn't want to see that.

Speaker 1 (15:03):
So now you think we want to watch Mike Tyson
bite his gloves again for eight ten rounds because that's
all he did against one of the Jake Paul, was
bite his gloves and show us his butt. Don't nobody
want to see that? And I'm upset nobody wants to
see that. And he's talking about with the fans that
a single person asks me, is not a single human

(15:24):
being on God's earth woke up? I want to see
Floyd and Tyson fight. Nobody as for that, In fact,
you just said it. Whether it's streaming, whether it's pay
per view, whether it's rather regular TV. At the end
of the day, this is what you need to do.
Turn the TV off, turn his TV off. Don't nobody
want to see that? Almost almost threw these headphones, right,

(15:47):
ain't nobody?

Speaker 4 (15:47):
I'm taught me.

Speaker 1 (15:48):
Listen, I just you and I talked about this two
three weeks ago with Jake Paul. Another one now because
now they're playing with us. Now they're saying you have
no standards. That's what I'm no integrity. You're that board
in life, you're that desperate for any type of content.
We'll just keep playing with your ha haha and teasing
you in your face. You don't have to find something else,

(16:12):
find something better to do. Spend time with your kids,
spend time with your friends, read a book, watch a
good Netflix. You know something good on there binge, watch
something worthy. You don't have to watch this. We talk
about this all the time. If you really want to
change from ownership of your favorite team, stop going to games.

Speaker 4 (16:30):
We are. Stop the money, trained money. That's how you
get changed. Stop it. You can't.

Speaker 5 (16:37):
The reason that they're even putting this out there is
they know that they're suckers who will buy it.

Speaker 4 (16:43):
That's why. Yeah, we know these guys.

Speaker 5 (16:46):
They got nothing to do on a Friday night, you
know what, and they'll make a boxing party at their
house and they'll do this, and they'll do that, and
they'll come to Vegas for the weekend and buy hotel
rooms and eat food and drink. Yeah, they got nothing
else going on in their lives. They'll do it. Stop it.
You have to stop the money train, make it a

(17:07):
disaster so that they'll stop putting these on.

Speaker 4 (17:10):
And maybe we're wrong.

Speaker 1 (17:13):
Maybe we're dinosaurs, we're outdated, we're purists.

Speaker 4 (17:19):
Maybe we need to get with the times.

Speaker 1 (17:21):
And understand that content is content is content, content is
king content coe content over everything. Maybe we need to
just accept that content over everything. Content is what matters.
And people will watch anything, and they're board our tension
spans and we'll just tune into anything. But my gosh,
it's not how I want to remember Mike Tyson. That's
not how I want to remember Floyd There's now I

(17:42):
want to see it more. Even more than that, I
just don't have any interest in watching a sixty year
old fight, which is not even gonna be a real fight.

Speaker 5 (17:49):
Right, And and I give sports fans some credit. They
haven't taken to these phony football leagues, right, you know,
like they don't show up, they stopped, they don't go
to that, and like, dude, what is it. We'll wait
for the NFL season to start. So Joe, you can
do the same thing in these boxes. And I know
it's not as many opportunities and you can't hold on

(18:11):
there selling you the glory of the past. These are
big names in boxing. I got it, Okay, it ain't
like Joe Schmoe and Bill Smith. These are big names.
But you can stop the insanity. It's up to you
to say, no, no way, know how am I spending
one thin dime on any of this.

Speaker 1 (18:32):
It's lunacy, it is, man, and I can't believe that
even Floyd's trying to sell us on you know what
I do? You just about to go down, No, Floyd,
And it's less than a WWE match. We're like, there's
an actual excitement and there's the pageantry of it all,
and you actually don't know who's gonna win this. And
I'm not a wrestling fan, but I can understand. Okay,
I get it. It's it's an acting there, you know

(18:52):
what it is, and you're here for the show. This
is terrible. After the first ten seconds, it's gonna be born.

Speaker 4 (18:58):
Hey man, how you doing? How the kids doing Itbody? Good? Yeah? Man?
Every good?

Speaker 5 (19:01):
Man?

Speaker 4 (19:01):
How much you we're gonna make with this fight?

Speaker 1 (19:03):
Man?

Speaker 4 (19:03):
I don't know, maybe thirty forty? Yeah? What you want
to go eat after this?

Speaker 2 (19:06):
Man?

Speaker 1 (19:06):
Yes, that's exactly that's all. It's gonna beat up talking
to each other pep pet pet Pet.

Speaker 4 (19:10):
Yeah you ain't. Oh yeah, he swunkin a hard day.
Am I bad? I'll dial it back a little bit,
That's all it's gonna be.

Speaker 2 (19:15):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Odd Couple
with Rob Parker and kelvin Washington weekdays at seven pm
Eastern four pm Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the
iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 4 (19:27):
Rob G This. Everybody's like, Christian McCaffrey's playing. He's not.
He's out.

Speaker 1 (19:31):
He was got this calf strained. Everybody who drafted him
in their fantasy league he's like, no, here we go again.
But now it looks like he's still gonna play, even
with being he's questionable. Uh, with that cave injury. But
that's the latest with him as far as playing this week.

Speaker 3 (19:47):
Yeah, he's questionable. But if we're being honest, is not
looking good because he will now have been limited on
Thursday and out on Friday. Now it is possible, but historically,
if a player misses f which is supposed to be
the lightest day of the week, chances are he's not
gonna play barring something unforeseen, which means when the San

(20:07):
Francisco forty nine ers kickoff on Sunday on the road
in Seattle. Brock Party will be taking the field without
Christian McCaffrey, without Brandon Ayuk, and of course Deebo Samuel
has already been traded well. So if that's the case,
cal Vils are with you. Do you think that brock

(20:28):
Perty should still win that game minus the rest of
the Avengers?

Speaker 4 (20:31):
Yep, yep.

Speaker 1 (20:34):
And I just paid you hundreds of millions of dollars as
to why you at that level that I'm paying you
is a forty three mili year whatever, my expectation is
for you to find ways to win a handful of games.
Just because you found a way to win them, now,
that doesn't mean that I expect you to officly you know, hey,
no matter who's there, he's still gonna win twelve games,
you know, missing a bunch of players. But absolutely I

(20:56):
believe you've been in the system. You're not a new guy,
You're not necessary. We have Donald coming to the Seahawks,
still getting acclimated right, still going through a chaneing camp,
still finding his ways, getting rapport with the team, finding
the chemistry. You've been here, same ownership, down the GM,
down the head coach, down to you. We've got a
nice run. Now you know the system, you know what
we do. We still got enough players, we still can

(21:16):
run the ball. We still got kittled. We still actually
picked up a couple people offensively as well in their draft,
and even free agency picked the receiver. So the expectation
is for me go out here and find a way
to win this. And Sam Donald's is a new situation.
He shouldn't come out here and outplay you. So absolutely,
to me, I look at this as this is why
we pay you. We believe that you are a difference maker,

(21:39):
not that you're Patrick Mahomes, not that you have to
be Lamar Jackson, but that you can win some games
when things are advantageous, when things aren't exactly how we
want them to be. And he himself acknowledged that understands
that that he has to be better, also acknowledged that
he put a little too much on his shoulders trying
to prove and get back to the super Bowl and
putever you know, prove how great he was. But man,
my expectation is, you still have to win this game.

(22:02):
If I'm Colcanna, ain't.

Speaker 2 (22:02):
Come on.

Speaker 1 (22:03):
We got enough talent out here. We got enough continuity,
you can win this game.

Speaker 5 (22:08):
I'm out on brock Purty. I've seen brock Purdy without
a loaded roster and players, and he struggled, you know
he did, and when he got in there was a
great system. I know they paid him, they felt compelled,
they had no choice, But I do. I think the
forty nine ers are winning the Super Bowl with rock party.

Speaker 1 (22:27):
No.

Speaker 5 (22:27):
I think their window of opportunity has coming gone. You know,
they've already shed a lot.

Speaker 4 (22:32):
Of habitual windowshutter. It's done.

Speaker 5 (22:36):
I'm just saying like it because they don't stay open
that long. Like windows don't stay open, there's an opening.
That's why teams don't repeat, you know what I mean.
It's real hard for teams to repeat and do stuff
like that. It's just rough. It's hard to win. It's
hard to have everything together. You have a team, you
know what I mean, and it's working out or whatever,

(22:57):
and then the next year you lose somebody or somebody
gets hurt or you can't pay them or something else.
And it's just hard to put that together. And that's
why you can't blow opportunities when they are there. I'm
not that excited about the forty nine ers or feel
like they're in the mix. If iut to take the
top five teams in NFC, the forty nine ers are

(23:18):
on one of them.

Speaker 1 (23:18):
No, they're not for me either, but they're not far off.
I mean, I think in their own division, I put
the Rams ahead of them. We obviously know for me,
the Lions. The Packers are right there as well, the
Bucks especially just because of the division area, and they
should be there. Commanders should be there as well, So
they're not far off.

Speaker 4 (23:35):
They're not.

Speaker 1 (23:35):
I don't think they're far off the forty nine ers,
and again based off their contuity, just kind of having
their system and their way of winning, I don't expect
them to be bad. In fact, if they make the postseason,
I would not be shocked at all. And are they
making a postseason? Let me, I had literally have to,
I'd have to write out all the teams, okay, because
you have to let me you know, because that was just.

Speaker 5 (23:57):
Noncommittal that you wouldn't be shocked because.

Speaker 4 (23:59):
You did because they're trying to count the teams.

Speaker 5 (24:01):
Not just saying I'm not putting you on the rec right,
but I'm just saying to say I wouldn't be shocked
like that's that's why I don't look at you to
be able to say I told you that they would
make it, or I didn't tell you that they were
going to looking.

Speaker 1 (24:13):
At it just right now without riding the teams down,
I would have them making the postseason, okay, I would
have them in. I think they would be similar to
what we and we're gonna talk about a little bit later,
the Cowboys in that. I don't think they're going to
be maybe some people out on forty nine ers, and
I think some people we had to eat from here,
who would little I think a little too high on
the forty nine ers. So I think, to me, they

(24:34):
can ten games, get a wild car spot ten eleven, uh,
and then from there, once you ran, you're in.

Speaker 4 (24:41):
You never know what happens. But now back to you
habitual window shutter.

Speaker 1 (24:45):
What actually I disagree with the windows shutting that you do,
not with the forty nine ers.

Speaker 5 (24:49):
Just there are teams, didn't We just see McCaffrey can't
stay healthy. Now that's not but that's a part of
the forty nine ers. So why would I believe in
the forty nine ers and thinking that they're gonna want
to have you got.

Speaker 1 (25:00):
I'm talking about eventually shutting them. I'm talking about you
saying the window is the window close with the Chiefs
the window yeah?

Speaker 4 (25:08):
Or is still over with the Chiefs.

Speaker 5 (25:09):
Well, I think they have more of a chance than
like the Lions is shut, like shut.

Speaker 4 (25:17):
What I mean by the teams are shut.

Speaker 1 (25:18):
We've seen teams have a very nice long window of opportunity,
Like the Seahawks had one for some time, The Steelers
had it for Ben Roethlisberger, the forty nine Ers have
had it with Jimmy g and then they had it
with now Rock Purty. And like, when you have a
good coach, a good quarterback, and a good system, that
window isn't as closed as you're making it. To me,

(25:39):
this is just me. I don't I don't see it.
I mean, we're not even gonna The Patriots are such
an anomaly. I'll even go that's an anomaly. But the
Chiefs to different fifteen teams in the NFL that have
no shot and don't and haven't had a shot to
win in twenty years, I mean, what are you telling me?
You know? What I'm saying is when a team to
me is a ligned right, they got a good GM.
They got connuity there, they got a good coaches conduty,

(26:00):
and then they got their guys, their quarterback. The window
is open, especially when you don't have a perennial It's
not like the Warriors in the NBA were for a
handful of years.

Speaker 4 (26:09):
It was like, just here, just give it to them.
Just gives you the Warriors.

Speaker 5 (26:13):
I just there are a lot of teams that have
really no shot. The NFL comes down to the same,
roughly four or five teams.

Speaker 1 (26:20):
That rights should be in that mix.

Speaker 4 (26:23):
But you're saying.

Speaker 5 (26:25):
Because because they've had two golden opportunities. I'm not saying
it just based off of their talent or whatever. They
should have gone to the Super Bowl two years ago
and blew out the forty nine in the first half.
They won fifteen games, a franchise record at home field,
were nine and a half point favorites against a rookie

(26:45):
quarterback and got blowed out in their own buildings.

Speaker 7 (26:48):
So then you lose your two coordinators and the quarterback
who you thought was maybe gonna be be different in
Detroit is the same guy they got rid of in
l A.

Speaker 5 (27:02):
It was exposed last year. You saw the bad Jared
golf when it mattered most.

Speaker 4 (27:07):
But that that's not closing a win. Yes it does.

Speaker 1 (27:12):
A couple of years ago, Jared hurts, the team looks
bad as nobody.

Speaker 4 (27:16):
Nobody said that their window was closed.

Speaker 1 (27:18):
Because their window wasn't. But the difference is they went
to the super Bowl. The Lion didn't go okay, So
it's a big difference. You said the lines in Philadelphia
the same way going to the super Bowl and a half.

Speaker 5 (27:32):
No, going to the super Bowl and a franchise that's
never been to the super Bowl.

Speaker 1 (27:36):
Yes, one believe it that your entire window. Nobody's saying
that you have one.

Speaker 5 (27:41):
It's not one because last year they had everything laid
out for them.

Speaker 4 (27:46):
Tell me last year you didn't think they were going
to the super Bowl.

Speaker 1 (27:49):
Definitely the year before more just because they were healthier,
not riding it out last.

Speaker 4 (27:54):
Year and a half point favorites they have won that
game point favorites. When they went to San Francisco.

Speaker 5 (28:02):
No, they kicked the forty nine ers ass in the
first half. Nobody expected that. Nobody but nobody.

Speaker 4 (28:10):
Is the window close?

Speaker 1 (28:11):
There's so many I just told you the Matthew Stafford
with the with the rams, they have good season that
they are. They make sposed the struggle that the window
isn't closed. If you ask me about the Cardinals, yeah, okay,
then they had windows closed. Or the Panthers are jat.
There's teams to me that I don't see why they're winning.

Speaker 5 (28:30):
But I'm telling you why why I'm telling you because
the Lions are taking a step backwards, which will open
it up for the for the Packers. It's because of
the Lions dropping down, the Packers are going to go
ahead of them. And here's my point. It's a couple
of things. It is the coach right who I don't
believe in Dan Gamble. It's the two coordinators who left.

(28:52):
It's it's uh the quarterback and Jared Goff who exposed
himself and showed you why the Rams didn't want him
despite him leading them to a super Bowl.

Speaker 4 (29:04):
It was my point because Matthew Stafford is no, that's
not it.

Speaker 5 (29:07):
They the year the year they went to the Super Bowl,
they averaged thirty five points. It was one of the
fifth it was the fifth highest offenses and they hit
the NFL and.

Speaker 1 (29:17):
At that time what second year ish Uh, Jared Goff,
Nobody's gonna take him over Matthew Stafford.

Speaker 4 (29:23):
You've got a chance to get Matthew Stafford. I just don't.
That's ridiculous. Made him wins.

Speaker 1 (29:27):
Stafford didn't even win a playoff game before he went
to LA. Everybody knew Matthew Stafford's more Town.

Speaker 4 (29:31):
Nobody.

Speaker 5 (29:33):
He didn't win a playoff game, and Jered Golf went
to the fin and Super Bowl.

Speaker 1 (29:37):
I don't care Brad Johnson stopping Chary Dilferd went to
a super Bowl.

Speaker 4 (29:42):
He ainate more talented than than Mackwick. Not talking about that.

Speaker 5 (29:45):
But there's one guy who I could at least say
at least Jared Goff won some big games in the
postseed and got you to the super Bowl.

Speaker 4 (29:52):
Now, he didn't do well in the super Bowl.

Speaker 5 (29:54):
But this whole notion, if they believed that was just
a one off, there's no reason that they would.

Speaker 1 (29:59):
Have t or got rid of because he was a
second and third year guy, and you got a Matthew Stafford,
you've got a chance to get him.

Speaker 5 (30:05):
What got what would do that? They lost confidence in
Jared Golf because they didn't believe he could get them
where they wanted to. And that's what I'm saying. If
you're a Lions fan and you watched last year. That's
the real Jared Golf. That's the trade. That's the Jared
Golf that got traded. They don't believe he can win
the big game. That's what I'm telling you.

Speaker 1 (30:23):
The idea that a team is not making the postseason,
that was that, the idea of the Chiefs ain't gonna
do that. And then the forty nine ers, the teams
that have had.

Speaker 5 (30:32):
Everybody's good and everybody's gonna make the playoffs.

Speaker 4 (30:35):
And a handful of teams that are all over them.
You're all over the math.

Speaker 1 (30:43):
Your disagree all of a sudden out of it. I
argue with you some more the other day
