Speaker 5 (04:03):
No, he's waiting to botch it at the wedding. That's
that's what the whole thing is gonna happen. Then that's
gonna be the whole thing. And now does he do
it be like she's coming down the aisle or does
he do it at the reception. I'm not giving my
haters any ammunition.

Speaker 6 (04:19):
I'm gonna be recording this and I can put it
on Instagram as soon as.

Speaker 5 (04:22):
It I told you.

Speaker 1 (04:24):
If you remember anybody remembers the character of Terrence Howard
in the movie Best Man, that's exactly you are right now.
You look like him and you played the guitar like him.
It's just perfect.

Speaker 5 (04:33):
It's perfect.

Speaker 6 (04:34):
After performs Yoko, owner's gonna come to break up, gonna.

Speaker 1 (04:39):
Break it up for that.

Speaker 6 (04:40):
Look, I'm about to remind you of DJ Howard from
Whooped that trick in a minute.

Speaker 5 (04:46):
Guitar. No, man, we're just saying it just And of
course Elijah is all social. That's right. He's sure, he's not.

Speaker 1 (04:56):
He's in bobwe Now they went on the longest family
trip every're back.

Speaker 6 (04:59):
Now, Yeah, I don't think they lift the country though
they were exploring the United States as well. Okay, all right,
And for forty years, tire rack dot Com has been
helping customers find the right tires.

Speaker 5 (05:11):
For how, what and where they drive.

Speaker 6 (05:14):
Ship Fast and free back by free Road has a
protection with convenient installation options like mobile tire installation. Tire
rack dot Com the way tire buying should be. And
Major League Baseball on a glorious night a little right there,
but it didn't stop the party. Uh, And then to
finish the home run derby, which I get and you

(05:37):
know me, I'm a traditional kind of baseball guy, but
I thought that was cool and I'm alright with it.
There was a couple things we got to see the
challenge of pitches, right, which was interesting the way that
that went, as long as they don't overdo it. Like
there was a couple right. Yeah, this was the launching
pad if you will. Ye, I didn't want to see
how people go to it, but I think it should

(05:58):
be and mark board something and I think he's right
probably be the manager not the pitcher like in the game,
like thinking of because why wouldn't it just be the catcher.

Speaker 1 (06:09):
I mean, like to me, like, why is the picture
you don't want to kick the picture that First of all,
you catcher, you're literally cuted while.

Speaker 5 (06:17):
You were there. You just had it over the place
you framed it.

Speaker 1 (06:21):
And or the manager also because the manager's thinking, okay,
what do we do now? What it's the challenge with
the situation the game time, are we wasting it?

Speaker 5 (06:29):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (06:29):
Versus the player You're you're just ticked off because that
was a strike. Versus hold on, hold on player, We
need we need.

Speaker 5 (06:36):
We need it when it really matters.

Speaker 6 (06:38):
And it was used early obviously the All Star Game,
and and Scooba wasn't going to pitch long so he
had to kind of throw it in there and it
went from two strikes to a strikeouts instead of a ball.
But anyway, uh, the home run derby, just your thoughts
because the fans bought ate it up. I know there's
some people like, oh dude, stop, it's an exhibition game.

(07:01):
It's for the fans, it's fun. Do I want that
to end a regular season game?

Speaker 2 (07:06):
No? I do not.

Speaker 5 (07:07):
Do I want it to end a tie game?

Speaker 6 (07:10):
And what turned out to being excited was six nothing
National League, the American League storms back and then the
National League wins it Schwarber from the Phillies, you know,
with the three.

Speaker 5 (07:20):
Bombs in his that bat, but by his chance.

Speaker 1 (07:22):
Of listen, when you're on, you're on, when you're having
a run or having a season. You ever had that
that time where man the job, all of a sudden
you got a bonus. The girl you like called you
and said that's going that date and just maybe had
some bad news turned good and just we're like, oh,
this is kind of my season. That's baseball over the
last year, year and a half, two years now, Rob,

(07:42):
I mean, you know, they were trying to figure things out,
how can we get more viewers? How can we speed
up the game? And Rob Manford credit have made a
few changes that traditionalist like maybe I wasn't on the
air with you at the time, but some people might
not have liked, hey, don't speed at the game?

Speaker 5 (07:57):
Change the shit?

Speaker 2 (07:58):
Right?

Speaker 1 (07:58):
And I did you think it was yesterday or Monday?
I can't remember the day, but I said, he's in
his He's in his sug Night deth Ro era where
he was just the boss. I'm making plays, making calls.
They were complaining in the Philadelphia Phillies, Well, why does
you know, why is.

Speaker 5 (08:13):
The wiz kid getting the men's getting to be in there?
Why is he pitching?

Speaker 3 (08:16):
Why?

Speaker 1 (08:17):
And he say, I asked y'all, wuld y'all pitch it?
Guarantee me one inning? And your pitcher said no, I
just pitched Sunday one said. The other one says, no,
I'd rather cool, he said, Do I want to do
this every time?

Speaker 3 (08:27):
No?

Speaker 1 (08:28):
But he pitches on a hundred three hundred four miles.
Why would this could be something cool for the fans.
I talked to him. Yeah, uh, pregame just a night.

Speaker 6 (08:36):
He's a kid, I mean literally, And I was like,
is this a whirlwind or you know what?

Speaker 5 (08:42):
He was just like, he.

Speaker 6 (08:44):
Says, I can't even believe I'm sitting here in a
locker room in the clubhouse with all these guys I
grew up watching, you know what I mean, And all
this stuff he said.

Speaker 5 (08:52):
He said, I pinched myself every day.

Speaker 1 (08:54):
And he's been on a roll rockets, so you get
the way he's been handling, Like I said, the shift
and the pitch count and speeding the game up, and
the game's going well. He lucked into a Dodgers Yankees
which ended up being spectacular. Ready to the roof, carries
over this season, radies through the roof. You have a
good offseason where want So it was gonna go like
they're in a three space right now. It's been a
good couple of which leads to the All Star Game,

(09:15):
and it starts off it's competitive. I thought we'll get
into a little bit later. I thought they started the
game out. We were on the air, and you represented
where you were. You in Atlanta. You had HBCU, you
had the Clark marching Man, you had Luda, Chris, Jermaine Duprix.

Speaker 5 (09:28):
It looked good, it felt good.

Speaker 6 (09:29):
It felt like it felt the Dogs series, right. It
just they've been on to be like that, and you
look for people who you know, represent the city or whatever,
and that's how you connect. And I think it was great.

Speaker 5 (09:43):
There was. It was star studded. There were a lot
of Atlanta people. Yeah, I mean it's there, proud of
their hometown and all that and the All Star Game.

Speaker 6 (09:50):
And I got stopped by a number of people, you know,
walking around the ballpark about the odd couple.

Speaker 5 (09:54):
And it was really nice shout out to them. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (09:56):
So, and then the actual game, right, you you get
the competitives, you got to two young pitchers who look
like they're gonna be the guys for the next decade. Uh,
the schemes and schoolbl and so obviously Scooble would have
preferred to do a little bit better. But the point
is you got the two stars off there out there right,
you got cart o'tany kind of sets it off for them.
They get rolling and it's just going and it's looking good.

Speaker 5 (10:14):
It's fun.

Speaker 1 (10:15):
Yes, there was a big deficit, but they don't just
see this is the difference. They didn't just mail it in. Well,
I guess that's just now to night. Where y'all going.
I heard Rob gonna be a magic city what we're doing.
They kept fighting. Rob came back.

Speaker 6 (10:28):
If you were watching the game, there were plays made,
diving catches and stuff like that, like, guys don't like
where I saw what.

Speaker 5 (10:37):
I can't remember was it. Uh he's from the Cubs. Uh.

Speaker 6 (10:42):
And he dove for a ball out left field, and
I said to myself, he easily could have pulled up
and let that be a double.

Speaker 5 (10:49):
It's a double.

Speaker 6 (10:49):
I'm not I'm not even gonna chance like messing my
knee up or doing something, you know what I mean.

Speaker 1 (10:54):
Even some of the at bats, you know, Junior had
a couple where it was like really like, there's a
couple well, especially the one that went down the the
right line. It's just like, oh, like he could have
easily sad I tried and swung whatever, but like, no,
I need this. We're in this game. We've got a
chance to come back, tie it up. We got a
chance to come back whin this thing. So that went
great as far as the seventh inning, the American League's

(11:15):
four runs and eventually they were tied. And then we
have the home run derby off the swing off and
that ended up being really fun. So it couldn't have
gone any better for them. I thought it was. I
thought it was really good and from top to bottom,
and I said, yeah, he made a great catcher left.
And I just think baseball's having a great couple of
seasons right now with just the moves that they've made.

(11:37):
Like I said, they fall into the Dodgers Yankees first
time since eighty one, that ends up being great.

Speaker 6 (11:42):
But I wonder where people are, like when you watched
it last night, you know a lot of people watched
did you like it? Like is this something? Could you
even see this? For like during the regular season, because
the one thing I do not like as you put
the run on second base right away in the tenth inning.
I get it, they don't want to play sixteen innings. Okay,

(12:05):
I get that, but why can't we have one extra inning,
one extra frame to tenth inning and then you do
that to give it a chance to win the game.

Speaker 5 (12:13):
You know what I mean?

Speaker 6 (12:14):
Because those games, to me, can wind up where you
win and they're not exciting men on second you butt
them the third and he scores on the fly ball. Okay,
you win a game, but that's not you didn't even
get a hit in the.

Speaker 1 (12:27):
You know what it reminds me of I think you
might feel me. It kind of reminds me of sudden
death in the NFL, where it's like, all right, I
got to.

Speaker 5 (12:35):
Just kick a field goal, take it off.

Speaker 6 (12:37):
So the only thing I disagree on sudden death is
you can score defensively that you can in baseball, you
know what I mean, Like, like I've covered the lines
for twenty years.

Speaker 5 (12:47):
You know I've seen pick sixes go the other way.
You know what I mean?

Speaker 6 (12:51):
You know what, Scott Mitchell, But you know what I mean,
Like you could win a game defensively as well.

Speaker 1 (12:57):
Get a kickoff, you return it to the forty. We
throw a ten yard in a fifteen yard pass, kick
a field going we're out of here, you know, or
if you want't even go with the college how they
used to do it.

Speaker 5 (13:05):
Where you know, college twenty five yards.

Speaker 1 (13:08):
Twenty five yard line, so it's like, oh okay, instead
of going the whole you know, one hundred or seventy
five if you will.

Speaker 5 (13:13):
But it was.

Speaker 1 (13:14):
Entertaining, it was funny. It was a great way to say,
here's a chance. It was it was really the home
run derby and the All Star Game and having a baby.
And to me, you got a chance. A few guys,
few pitches, each of you get a few pitches. Let's
see what happens. We're not burning you out. So you
go back to your team messed up because that's happened.
Dudes something do home run derbies and they're off for
a few more weeks. They just can't get their swing

(13:34):
back together. Only a few batters, few pitches, quick fun,
get it over with and we all move on. But
the game itself was competitive. That was fun way to end.

Speaker 5 (13:45):
It because it wasn't It was six nothing, and you
could have said, like you said on a vacation, take
the first swing.

Speaker 6 (13:51):
And get out of there, like you could do that,
say're working to count, you know what I mean, trying
to get on base like all that kind of stuff,
making plays.

Speaker 5 (13:59):
It was a very entertaining when you put it all together, all.

Speaker 1 (14:02):
Right, I give them credit. Then they gotta give them credit.
We complained. Listen, we'll sit here and that's coming February
and maybe complain about the NBA.

Speaker 5 (14:09):
Maybe they get it right, maybe they don't.

Speaker 1 (14:10):
But my point is we'll complain when it's when it's
done poorly and just doesn't seem like people cared. Gotta
give them credit. MLB were there, they care, the players
were there. It seemed fun, and they seem to get
it right, all right.

Speaker 6 (14:21):
Eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox eight seven seven
nine nine six sixty three sixty nine. What'd you think
of the derby at the end and is that something
that you would be interested in? Would you like to
see that for the regular season instead of putting the
guy on second base?

Speaker 5 (14:40):
Just your thoughts. A lot of people thought it was exciting.

Speaker 6 (14:43):
There was some people who didn't like it, But you're
not everybody that exactly, but Kelvin and I are in agreement.

Speaker 5 (14:49):
I thought that was fun. It was a great way.
And I was the one.

Speaker 6 (14:52):
I was in Milwaukee when they had the tie, and
that was bad. That was a bad ending to an
All Star game. Bud Selig was there in his home,
you know, park and a whole nine yards. It just
it didn't feel.

Speaker 5 (15:02):
Good with then the overreaction afterward.

Speaker 1 (15:04):
Now with World Series home advance, that overreaction, Okay, let's
not overreact there, all right?

Speaker 6 (15:09):
Eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox, It is The
Odd Couple on a Magic City Monday. The glitter is
still on me and the taste of chicken wings on
my breath.

Speaker 5 (15:21):
I won't gonna call you out, but yeah, I'm sorry.

Speaker 6 (15:24):

Speaker 1 (16:18):
Fox Sports Radio. It's the Odd Couple. Calvin Washington, Marri
He's back. Rob Parker's back in the building. And if
you got achy knees and step back, your jointsar cooperating. Well,
some days your body's just like, uh uh, this ain't it.
And on those days, luckily there is a leave with
just one pill. A lead provides up to twelve hours
of pain relief so you can keep it moving use

(16:40):
as directed. Did you enjoy the MLB All Star Game?
Did you enjoy the swing off? That ended up being
pretty fun for Rob and id like the way it ended.
Didn't want to be in and be there another five hours.
Just find a quick, fun way to get it done,
and he did that. Maybe you feel differently and could
you see that as a remedy in extra innings as
opposed to the person already being on second eight seven,

(17:02):
seven ninety nine on Fox.

Speaker 5 (17:03):
Will take some calls.

Speaker 6 (17:04):
We got Scott in Pennsyl Tucky. You're on the odd
couple of Fox Sports Radio. What's up, Scott.

Speaker 8 (17:10):
That's three hours on the air. Welcome back, Rob.

Speaker 5 (17:13):
Thank you, buddy, appreciate that. Yep.

Speaker 8 (17:15):
I'm telling you, it's been about twelve years since I've
watched the All Star Game. It was fun. I couldn't
believe it. I watched, I got the whole thing, and
then when our man Schwarber came up, I said, he's
got three of them right there. Yeah, it was great.
It's back for me. But let's not rush it to

(17:37):
having it at the regular No, I'm.

Speaker 5 (17:38):
With you, Scott. I'm with you. I don't want to
rush to that either.

Speaker 8 (17:42):
And how I believe is if they need that god
darn ghost Runner, which I dis detested, right, put him
on first base, make them earn second base.

Speaker 6 (17:51):
Right because you need a hit in there. Could you
win a game without a hit, Scott. And that's the
part that I do not like. Andrea in Massachusetts, You're
on the a couple of Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 5 (18:01):
What's up, dright, how you doing?

Speaker 9 (18:04):
Thanks for taking a call, listen. I enjoyed the All
Star Game and I did like to swing off to
conclude it.

Speaker 4 (18:10):
Now.

Speaker 9 (18:10):
I don't want to see this on a day to
day basis. I would prefer to see extra innings. And
I'm fully in line with you, Rob, I'd like to
see it in the eleventh inning.

Speaker 5 (18:21):
Can we have.

Speaker 9 (18:26):
Of actual baseball and then because of the time sensitivity, okay,
put the runner on second base to start the eleventh
inning and we can play forward from there. But I'm
also a big proponent of the automated ball strike system.
I think it's long overdue. I think people want to
see you get it right. And I thought it was
incorporated well yesterday. It's not adding additional time, you know,
and we just you know, we go, we see what

(18:47):
it is on the monitor, and then we just move
forward right from there. And I think that's a huge thing.

Speaker 6 (18:52):
Its right, right, And you don't want it to be
where it's going to take time and you got to
keep looking at it, and you got to keep deciding
what you're going to do.

Speaker 1 (19:00):
You have to remedy the PA you don't want to
go backwards.

Speaker 6 (19:04):
How about Jordan in Atlanta. You're on the odd couple
of Fox Sports Radio. What's up, Jordan?

Speaker 10 (19:09):
How do you guys doing? Love the show?

Speaker 5 (19:11):
Thanks man?

Speaker 6 (19:12):
Atlanta showed out for the All Star, Yes, Derby and
the All Star Game.

Speaker 9 (19:17):
Yes, I actually work at the stadium.

Speaker 5 (19:19):
I'm here now, Okay.

Speaker 9 (19:20):
It was just amazing the whole week starting Friday, Like
the battery was busy from nine o'clock to basically twelve o'clock.

Speaker 2 (19:29):
In the morning.

Speaker 10 (19:31):
I love the tribute that they showed on the field.

Speaker 4 (19:34):
That was amazing.

Speaker 10 (19:36):
The O'Neill Cruz home run in the.

Speaker 6 (19:38):
Home run Derby crazy, the Ronald of Counya hit in
the first thing and that was electric. Yeah, it was
just a great week.

Speaker 5 (19:48):
I really enjoyed.

Speaker 6 (19:49):
That's good to hear, no doubt, Jordan, Thanks for the support.

Speaker 5 (19:53):
Thanks for calling in.

Speaker 6 (19:55):
Kevin in Culver City, you're on the odd couple of
Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 5 (19:58):
What's up, Kevin? God it's good all the time, buddy.

Speaker 4 (20:01):
Hey man, the number one thing you want is sports,
and the business is entertainment.

Speaker 10 (20:06):
This was entertainment, This was entertaining. I remember Barry Bunch
carrying Tory Hunter. This is the best All Star Game
I've ever seen. I didn't want it to be boring.
When that swing off happened, it felt.

Speaker 4 (20:20):
Like it was box office. Kyle Schwarber to win it,
he needed he needed like two three to win. They
came from behind. Then you had Alonzo if he if
you know, to finish it out. That's what you want.
NBA's we're trying to get it right with the All
Star Games. Can you imagine a three point shoot have
to win it or slam duck contest? The Pro Bowl,
can't get it right? Major League Baseball? Rob Manfred got

(20:42):
it right. And I don't care what anybody says. I
would love to see a World.

Speaker 10 (20:46):
Series with a swing off with Otani versus Aaron Judge.

Speaker 4 (20:50):
It would be boxed office. The ratings bonanza weeks.

Speaker 5 (20:59):
He's right there.

Speaker 1 (21:00):
I'm with you, and then you always go too far Camp.

Speaker 5 (21:02):
You always ended, we're going all right. Thank you for
the call, Kevin appreciated as always. All right.

Speaker 1 (21:09):
We got Joe Varden getting ready to talk to some
NBA with him in just a little bit. Right now,
Martin Wisz is gonna get your sett on what's trending
What's up?

Rob Parker kelvin Washington on a worship Wednesday. And we're
joined right now by Joe Varden covers the NBA for
the athletic Joe Varden on X Joe, what's up?

Speaker 5 (21:37):
Man? You guys doing doing good?

Speaker 6 (21:40):
Doing good, absolutely doing well. Let's let's start with Bradley
Beale and uh, finally moving on taking the buy out
and moving on to the Clippers. How surprised are you
that he wound up with the Clippers?

Speaker 3 (21:58):
You know, not, I mean not not overly surprised. You know,
there was a personal sort of familial presence to be
in a twelve months warm weather climate that had a
lot to do with his resistance to being traded last year.

(22:20):
You know, he probably could have gone to Miami, but
that's neither here nor there. But you know, with the Clippers,
I mean, they have a veteran roster and they have
a players coach, and so you know it's I mean
if you just kind of look at who they have
and who they've had through the years since Tyler has
been there. This just makes sense to me, you know.

(22:45):
And and if if I mean James is usually healthy,
but you know, if Kawhi can be out there for
sixty games anyway, then yeah, you know, you know, Bradley
like this is the place he'd want to play, you know,
he would figure to have some space. And he's got
one of the games great assists men that he's playing alongside,

(23:06):
So you know, he's certainly after what happened in Phoenix,
he is looking for a way to jump started, you know,
kind of rev up his career after a couple of
years certainly you know, going in the wrong direction. So
you know, I mean the Clippers are a team as
we all know. Every year we're talking about them as

(23:28):
a as a contender, and you know, and and they
just it hasn't worked out in the playoffs. So if
they get the Bradley Beal that we know he can
be or had been, they get anywhere close to that,
then this is a huge acquisition at a pretty low cost.

Speaker 1 (23:46):
Well you know what, So Rob and not going to
have a longer conversation about Bradley Beal next hour, So
I wanna switch to the thunder. They spend eight hundred
and something million dollars between their three guys, U and
Chad obviously Shay and and Jay Dove. Just did you
think they'd be able to get that done? H And
do you like the deal? You feel like maybe they
handcuffed themselves as far as over did it? Those young

(24:08):
the younger in those you know, those ancillary pieces that
made them such a great team as well.

Speaker 3 (24:14):
No, I I like this. I'm going to take the
other route. Uh sorry, Rob, I just think I think
you know, on the one hand, we all expected it.
You know, you you get your guys under contract, But
now I mean we have you have to think as
the salary cap goes up and up over the next
couple of years, like you knew no matter what, that

(24:36):
this team was going to become really expensive. So and
I also think, by the way, that as long as
you are winning, you continue to pay, Like if you're
if you're a second ak from team, but you win,
you repeat, then you run it back, you pay the cost.

Speaker 4 (24:53):
You don't care about roster building.

Speaker 6 (24:55):
Well, here's my pushback to you did not win and
three championships in a row.

Speaker 5 (25:02):
You won an Okay.

Speaker 6 (25:03):
See, I'm not saying throw to towel in and not
try to compete, but it wouldn't have been the end
of the world to sign pick two of the three
guys and then allow yourself to be able to do
some other stuff, some other you know what I mean
along the way and not be top heavy at some point,
and then you're hamstrung if you're not winning championships and
you gotta pay that, you know, like, like there was

(25:25):
another path to say, and I'm gonna take two, I'm
gonna move the other guy right to whatever it is
to take and still wind up being there where you're
in the league that has had what eight different championships
in the last eight years or whatever it is? Like,
is that the wrong way to think about it. I'm
not saying, oh, I'm good, I'm happy I won my
one championship. I'm not signing anybody but two of the three.

Speaker 4 (25:49):
Yes, so I help you out point yeah.

Speaker 3 (25:52):
But this is I mean you said it. You said, like, well, listen,
you're not winning three championship in a row, and that
is because of the era that we're in. We haven't
had a consecutive champion since the Warriors when they're beaten
the Cavs. That's a long time ago now, and it's
because basically of salary cap rules. So the key to

(26:13):
remain very good is to maintain flexibility. Now, you would say,
whatever the price tag is of those three contracts, totally,
he'llcuffs this team. I disagree. One of the restrictions of
being over an apron is you cannot make trades, like
you cannot aggregate player salaries in trades. So if you

(26:38):
want to make moves like you have to have the
expensive guys they do with three of these players under
these contracts. If they want to move on from one
and they want to get a big fish, they can
they have like thirteen or something first round picks over
the next seven years, some outrageous number. Like yes, on

(27:02):
the price tag of these three guys is expensive, but
I would argue that it actually provides more opportunities if
they feel like they need to change their roster in
the coming in the coming years.

Speaker 5 (27:14):
Yeah, I was.

Speaker 1 (27:14):
I was, you know, he and I had our conversations
about it. I was team keeping. They're too young or
too good, and I'll figure out the.

Speaker 5 (27:19):
Rest and throw them back, throw one back. No, I'm
not throwing back. Is this a well yeah, who would
probably Chet? You would have said this hit? Yeah, probably probably. Yeah,
I'm not doing the man.

Speaker 1 (27:31):
They're too young or too good and Daggan Sam Presty
can find some pieces.

Speaker 6 (27:34):
He's been buying pieces for twenty years, and Chet's been
getting injured a lot. So I'm saying I got lucky
with this one. I want a championship.

Speaker 5 (27:40):
Let me move on.

Speaker 1 (27:41):
Rob has this thing Joe where he just if you're
in a small market, he believes, take your one and
be happy. If you're Milwaukee, just be happy. If you're
an Oklahomas e why can't I get two three? Why
can't I be agreed what to do? Let me be greedy.

Speaker 5 (27:53):
I mean even the Warriors had to go get Kevin
Durant in order to do more than that, right didn't they?

Speaker 4 (28:00):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (28:00):
Well yeah, but you know, if you're you're this The
entire roster's coming back for next year. So I know
that doesn't have anything to do with the contracts that
they all signed this summer. But now you've got a
team that's coming back, not only is defending champs from
totally intact, but also happy. Uh, No one's looking over
their shoulder at least in their in their core. But again,

(28:22):
I just want to say, like, you know, whatever happens
with Giannis, like it doesn't mak he's goingnywhere this year.
But if he, if he decides at some point he
wants out, they can do it because of these salaries
and the and and then also the first round picks
that they have, you know, or if they want some
other outrageously you know, expensive, great veteran, they can do that.

(28:47):
Or if they decide that the game has changed again
and you know, they don't need centers like they used to,
you know, and you want to move off of chet,
you can do that still, Like you could do that
because you can because his salary is not going to
limit you based on the rules.

Speaker 8 (29:08):
So I like it.

Speaker 3 (29:10):
That's yeah, that's right there.

Speaker 6 (29:12):
If I'm honest, you can't go from Milwaukee to OKAC.

Speaker 1 (29:15):
I mean, like I'm just saying, like he's a New
Yorker who moved to LA That's why. That's you know
what I mean, That's what it is. Joe Vard and
our guests. One more for me, I want to go
to everybody's been making moves to trades or doing something
to do something. A team that has not acquired anyone
or re signed anyone is the Warriors. They literally have
done nothing, Like they've not signed anyone. Have you seen

(29:36):
yah double apron and so and it's backless aside from
them being two chefs in the catch kitchen with those aprons?

Speaker 5 (29:44):
What do you make of that?

Speaker 1 (29:45):
Are they just are they waiting on Lebron the Lakers
to do something? Are they what are they trying to
figure out over there? They feel like they got enough?

Speaker 4 (29:51):
Uh?

Speaker 5 (29:51):
What what's happening up there in the Bay.

Speaker 3 (29:54):
Well, I think they're gonna end up with Orford and
uh and and maybe not the player I think who
is DeAndre Milton? Maybe or that's not right, there's one
other guy. But but certainly I think, uh now.

Speaker 5 (30:13):
Just if you can't remember him, that he ain't really
that good, keep.

Speaker 3 (30:16):
Going well, But but Horford, I think I think I
think that they're they're kind of zeroed in on Horford.
I think that there is mutual interest there. I do
think that the Warriors would be interested in maybe some
of the bigger name trades that that you might be
hinting at. They're one of the teams that salary wise

(30:37):
that could that could maybe do it. I don't know
if the other side would be interested in that, but
but yeah, I mean the Warriors are always a franchise
that's looking to add They always are, and I think
they will be so long as Steph Curry is there.
You know, I mean, what does Horford have left in
the tank. He was really good last year. Bringing him

(31:00):
off the bench is interesting to me. You know, certainly
we'll see how many games Jimmy Butler plays during the
regular season. But yeah, I think I think they're not
quite done yet. And you know, if if the Lebron
situation gets worse, I do believe the Warriors would be
a team that would make a run at them.

Speaker 1 (31:22):
Well, all right, we'll have to wait and see, man, Joey,
appreciate you as always, Joe Barden on X no doubt,
thank you, all right, on the way, welcome back. Rob
got a little Sheko city. See how he did. Also
play of the Day as well. We'll get to that
and watching about what.

Speaker 5 (31:37):
I did the last time I was on. You know,
there's no games tonight.

Speaker 1 (31:40):
What do you mean there's no games on? The w
n B A is on right now. Abbreviating the disrespect
is crazy. There are no games on today. I'm watching
the Liberty and the Fever. Go at it right now,
Sabrina i Unescu just got a bucket.

Speaker 6 (32:44):
And as I said before, there are no games tonight
on other than the WNBA, So sorry about that.

Speaker 1 (32:51):
Those are still games, Rob, you could have picked.

Speaker 5 (32:53):
You could have picked the Liberty. I don't know.

Speaker 6 (32:55):
Plus I'm not doing that. How I'm gonna pick the Liberty.
I've been watched one w NBA game.

Speaker 5 (33:00):
Aim to be able to make the same on you.
You never miss it. I never missed a WNB all right, anyway,
Uh Friday I was two and one. Okay, I'm just
looking for my season record, which I can't find a course,
but any I think he miss remembers. Yes, thank you, Tom?
Uh yeah, two and one. Oh, here we go.

Speaker 6 (33:19):
Day one seventy five and one eighty is a total
two and one Friday one seventy and you know that
no baseball lamar either.

Speaker 5 (33:26):
We get back on Friday. So you want to get
the WNBA calendar for you.

Speaker 8 (33:30):
I'm not.

Speaker 5 (33:32):
We're not doing WNBA. It's not trigonometry. I'm always shocked
when it's included in the updates. Yeah you are.

Speaker 1 (33:39):
Actually, I do recall that as if it's not a
whole league that has athletes in there.

Speaker 6 (33:45):
Sorry about that, all right. I remember when they didn't
do WNBA scores. The league has not just showed up
like last week. He's been around for like thirty years,
like you've been covering.

Speaker 5 (33:56):
A w AB since nineteen ninety six seven when they came,
so for twenty nine years there were no updates on
the WNB.

Speaker 1 (34:02):
That just shows what we were the level of mal Chov.

Speaker 5 (34:05):
That's what. Now we're there. I'm just saying, it's so disappointed.

Speaker 1 (34:08):
Matter of fact, whoever the update person wasn't oh two,
I'm disappointing them and five twenty ten.

Speaker 5 (34:14):
Ben Malan were doing updates back then.

Speaker 1 (34:15):
Right now I'm disappointing maybe not Aaron. Aaron is upset too.
He's like, boo, why you ain't covering this?

Speaker 5 (34:22):
This the w n b A. Aaron's like, why do
you bet your my name all the time? But Aaron is.

Speaker 1 (34:28):
Such a calm down personally calm down. Okay, hold on, Ralph,
all right, you just came back. I bet you you're
not getting a Christmas invite?

Speaker 2 (34:38):
I am.

Speaker 5 (34:39):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (34:39):
We're just keeping it a little close to the vest
this year. Be a few of us, just a couple
of friends. No black people, you know, No people talk
about my wife on the raid.

Speaker 5 (34:48):
I mean, uh, you know. And here's the other thing.

Speaker 6 (34:51):
Okay, you really can't take the w n b A
seriously because they don't cover it, like like Caitlin Claw
you talked about this has been struggling all year. Where
the story, dude, where seriously, Like you can't bash her,
you can't talk about how poorly what is she shooting? Like, uh,

(35:11):
she was like twenty eight percent from three, Like you know,
like she's not having a banner year. But if you
talk about her as you're jealous or you hate her
or there's something like that, rather than talking about the game,
talking about and then if you criticize them, it's the
same thing. They don't want to hear criticism of this
about the women and whatever. What kind of league is

(35:31):
it's it's phony, it's not a real league. If you
can't criticize the players will talk about the game.

Speaker 5 (35:37):
If they do well, you praise them. If they do poorly,
you bury them. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (35:42):
I brought this up yesterday that she had been struggling.
At one point in time, she was one for twenty
eight from three on the road. She was struggling, and
she's been dealing with injuries. Now she's got to grow
and that's growing injury. That's why she's out tonight. But
even I was telling Rob Gen, she's been healthy enough
to get out there and play, you would think find
another way, And this is where her game is gonna
have to grow. Right now, I'm watching Sabrina Ali Nascu,

(36:04):
who is balling. She got the three mid range to
the rack passing. And my point is Caitlyn is gonna
you know, you have to evolve, and the league is
kind of caught up a little bit.

Speaker 5 (36:12):
I do think.

Speaker 1 (36:12):
Also, I know she's been dealing with some injuries, but
she hasn't played great. She hasn't looked great. She turned
the ball over around five turnovers a game. So to me,
that was part of my question was, well, she's not
looking good at all.

Speaker 6 (36:25):
How many games do you watched start to finish. I'm
just curious. I'm not trying to put you on this, so.

Speaker 1 (36:29):
I'll probably start to finish three or four, I said,
But I'm gonna tell you guys on the show because
they've started while we're here, you know what I mean,
Like you and I are in here, like right now,
this game started at four. I'll probably I'm gonna finish
this game. So maybe maybe even a little bit more.

Speaker 5 (36:45):
No, I'm just asking.

Speaker 1 (36:47):
But so the the thing I've had, the issue I've
had is, and I mentioned it was when she's playing great,
we talk about it. But the coverage You've heard me
say this for weeks and for months. My concern was
the only coverage is if she filed hard. That's the storyline.
Her and angeuries, that's the storyline. RG three's got something
to say. That's the storyline. And to me, I was like,

(37:08):
when is it gonna be Hey she looked good to
night she had thirty and ten, or hey you got
you in a bad night, Hey she has. She's struggling
from three. You wouldn't even know she's in a three
point contest. She' shooting like twenty seven percent, twenty eight percent.
And other teams they're playing well, they had a good game.
This person doing that, this this team is on a streak.
To me, the main coverage becomes she's getting a file
too hard, the officiating isn't good. They're hating on her.

(37:30):
Don't you know she's a cash Kyle. Those are the conversations,
and to me, it's a disservice to the league and
the players when that's why it can't be when it's
solely the conversation.

Speaker 6 (37:39):
But that's what I'm saying, like, you can't take the
league seriously if you're not going to cover it honestly.
If she plays well, give her credit. If she doesn't
play well, talk about it. It doesn't mean you hate her.
You wanted to fail, you want the league to fail.
She's not You're not shooting the ball well, I.

Speaker 5 (37:55):
Mean, is that crime there?

Speaker 1 (37:58):
As much as much as we and I we kind of,
you know, joking different. On Patrick Mahomes, we both agreed
throughout the whole season he's not playing well. He's not
looking like Patrick, and our longer perspectives were different, but
we both acknowledged numbers are the same. He's off, he's
not even And I used to tell you my concern
was he wasn't even making the easy path, like oh

(38:18):
that's a gimme, that's a seven yard little quick out,
and it's like, oh, he's overthrowing people. So obviously there
was a lot to it, But my point is acknowledging it,
covering it, it's okay, and so yeah, but I think
that's been my big thing. When when they're playing well,
when there's other storylines things are going on, she's not
playing well, whatever. It doesn't always have to be everyone's hating,
she's getting filed hard, or she and Angel Reese are beefing.

(38:38):
That's kind of only it's the only headlines you get.
To me, that's a dis service to the league, all Right,
the clippers, the clippers,
