Speaker 5 (05:06):
Why your bugain? Huh?

Speaker 9 (05:10):
Hey?

Speaker 1 (05:10):
Uh?

Speaker 4 (05:11):
So are you ready to go? Playoffs? The TV's all
on that spectrum. And of course the Dodgers are playing
the night game tonight, so we got that as well.

Speaker 5 (05:22):
So we got goodall.

Speaker 4 (05:24):
Yeah, clubs won, the Tigers won the first game of
the day, the Cubs won, beat the Padres, and uh
the Yankees winning one now one nothing in New York
against the Red Sox, and then tonight the Reds Hunter
Green from the LA area pitching against pitching against the Dodgers,

(05:45):
his hometown team. So that's gonna be great too. So
we got wall to wall baseball for the next few days.

Speaker 5 (05:50):
Great, man, that's good stuff. But a lot of stuff
to talk about though.

Speaker 1 (05:53):
Also, yeah, that's I mean, listen, we're we're, you know,
matter of two three weeks away from it, just all
being there right deep into postseason for baseball football, halfway
through give or take through the season, and then obviously
NBA starting, So we're right just in almost the sweet
spot WNBA finals.

Speaker 4 (06:10):
I don't want to throw it. I don't want to
forget that finals. Anybody talking about no WNBA just talking
about the cat fight or whatever. You want to call it.

Speaker 1 (06:18):
My goodness, man, minding my own business, having a little
egg Benedict. Next thing, I know when our best players
in the league called me out crazy absolutely crazy. Later
all right, but rob g let's start here.

Speaker 4 (06:32):
And just the Jets lose last night, and I guess
Aaron Glenn wanted everybody in their uncle to know something.

Speaker 5 (06:39):
So what was that? Yeah, he wanted to let know
how mad as hell he is.

Speaker 9 (06:42):
He's not going to take it anymore because in a
game where they had thirteen penalties and three turnovers, Aaron
Glenn made a point, according to multiple reports, to yell
at his team so loudly in the postgame locker room
that the media could hear it down the hall. So
he wanted to make sure everybody knew he was really upset,
and for good reason, because last night, the New York
Jetripolitics became the first team in the last twenty seasons

(07:05):
to start oh and four with zero force turnovers, which
is a big deal because, as you know, Aaron Glenn
is a defensive coach and number two, this is one.

Speaker 5 (07:13):
That's really got his race of eyebrows.

Speaker 9 (07:16):
Aaron Glenn last night became the second coach in Jets
franchise history, or excuse me, the third coach against franchise
history to start his tenure as a new coach with
the club. Oh and four joins Adam Gase and Lou
Holtz as the last two coaches to do that with
the Jets. He is now one loss away, coming up

(07:38):
on Sunday against the Dallas Cowboys, from becoming the first
oh to five rookie head coach in Jets' history.

Speaker 4 (07:46):
I got news for you. He don't need that win
for me to already think Aaron Glenn is the worst
coach in Jets football history.

Speaker 5 (07:56):
I'm already there. What That's how long it took me?

Speaker 4 (08:00):
And I just I told you about one thing, all
that show bolting and cutting a player because he fumbled
and all that and the bravado and you just talked
about it rob to you like screaming and carrying on
and all that. Dude, your team is undisciplined. Thirteen turn

(08:20):
that's in a reflection of the coach. We agree with
me on that turned. I mean penalties. Thirteen penalties And
do you know who they lost to last night? The Dolphins.
They don't even get any worse than that. The Jets
have turned into the general hospital of the NFL. When

(08:43):
you played him, you get well. Miami was starving for something,
some medicine, some help, and guess what the Jets delivered.
That's what they do. They make it easy for other teams.

Speaker 5 (08:59):
Aaron Glenn change.

Speaker 4 (09:00):
Anything that bs that they tell everybody about culture.

Speaker 10 (09:04):
He came from a winning culture in Detroit. He's gonna
transfer that over to the Jets. Culture starts with winning.
That's how you transfer a culture over. If you don't win,
I don't care about all that other stuff. I've told
you a million times.

Speaker 4 (09:26):
Pro sports has a short menu wins and losses. And
when they lose to the Cowboys in New Jersey on Sunday,
he'll be zero and five. Remember this is the guy
who told Aaron Rodgers to hit the road right.

Speaker 5 (09:45):
He did.

Speaker 4 (09:47):
He's the one who's walking around and talking about he's
gonna change everything and we're not gonna tolerate this and that.
And if you fumble the ball, did they cut anybody
else from last night? From the fumbles? Did Justin Fields
get cut? What was the other running back who fumbled
at the goal line?

Speaker 5 (10:06):
Was he cut?

Speaker 4 (10:07):
I'm just asking, well, what is it. You're not tolerating that,
or not tolerating that from a bottom feeder, from some
guy you use as a sacrificial lamb to try to
push some narrative that you're not having it. And it's
totally different now with you in charge. The Jets haven't changed.

(10:28):
Aaron Glenn hasn't changed one bit. That team is pathetic.
They couldn't even compete. I don't care what the score was.
Did they compete in that game against the Dolphins. It
was ugly, ugly game. That's where I'm at with Aaron Glenn.
So go ahead, yell at your team, all that bravado

(10:50):
and all that.

Speaker 5 (10:50):
How about coach better?

Speaker 4 (10:52):
How about doing a better job at coaching your team
up so they don't have to go to Miami and
get embarrassed by a terrible Dolphins team, because that's what
happened last night. And now you're about to make history.
I'm never considering how bad the Jets are. I can't
believe a coach hadn't been on and five.

Speaker 5 (11:10):
Actually more shocking, I'm shocking. And guess what.

Speaker 4 (11:13):
Aaron Glenn will wear that proudly because he's earned it.

Speaker 1 (11:20):
I cannot believe we're four games in and you're going
off on Aaron Glenn four games in, four games into
a team that had Aaron Rodgers and only won five
all of last season. Aaron Glenn is trying to develop
in his team. Aaron Glenn trying to find an identity
of the team. Aaron Glenn is trying to find out

(11:40):
who's good on his team. He just got the job
and it's his first head coaching job, and you brought
up the Detroit Dan Campbell, who has had one of
the best teams in the last three years. Wouldn't have
had this chance if they're listening to you, because they
started off oh to eighth and nine.

Speaker 5 (11:57):
Then they right at the ship.

Speaker 1 (11:59):
They got their and obviously Jared Goff and they've been
able to move forward. So my thing is, I'm not
even thinking about Eron Glynn either way, because it's four
games into his first team with a bad team that
I had no expectations of.

Speaker 5 (12:12):
Anyway. This is the kid who.

Speaker 1 (12:13):
Always brings homes d's and now I'm yelling at him
because they got the D minus, like this is what
the Jets do. So I didn't have expectations. This isn't
this isn't you coming in yelling at John Harball. I
can understand that more because their expectations Super Bowl aspirations
for the Ravens, right, I can understand that there're a
handful of other teams, you know, Demiko Ryans, you might say,

(12:34):
hey man, this team is supposed to be better than this.

Speaker 5 (12:36):
Talking about Detexans.

Speaker 1 (12:38):
I can understand that nobody had any expectations for Aaron
Glynn for the dagone Jets because.

Speaker 5 (12:44):
They weren't good.

Speaker 1 (12:45):
They haven't been good and I don't know how long.
And the crazy part is they actually have been competing.
Game one, they lose thirty four to thirty two because
of the whole kick return thing that messed up against
the Steelers.

Speaker 5 (12:57):
They could have maybe beaten Aaron Rodgers and the Steelers.
They did.

Speaker 1 (13:01):
They win hold Up. They got beat down by the Bills.
We know that that was expected. And then it takes
a block field goal for the Buccaneers to beat them.
Otherwise they beat them. They lose twenty nine, win hold Up,
and then they only lose to a terrible Dolphins. Teams
are terrible. I told you was the toilet Bowl. Yes night,
we're watching it. This was the toilet Bowl between those

(13:21):
two teams and they lose by six. So aside from
the Bills, he's lost by a total of ten points
those three games, two of which he should have won.

Speaker 5 (13:30):
So what I'm saying, most games are decided. So what
I'm saying by close doesn't mean anything.

Speaker 1 (13:36):
I'm laughing that the idea that we're talking about Aaron Glenn,
as if Aaron Glenn.

Speaker 5 (13:42):
Is the coach of the Chiefs or the Ravens or
the Lion.

Speaker 3 (13:46):
You an example.

Speaker 5 (13:47):
This is why your argument is lame. And the Jets
rob g Nathaniel Hackett with Denver.

Speaker 4 (13:55):
Do we not call it after week one that this
guy wasn't head coach? Week one, Week one we knew
Nathaniel can't hack it, couldn't coach, and he wound up
going four and eleven and was dismissed.

Speaker 5 (14:11):
You could use the same argument, how can you fire
guys his first year? Oh blah blah blah.

Speaker 4 (14:16):
No, this is the bravado that Aaron Glenn brought about.

Speaker 5 (14:20):
I'm changing the culture here.

Speaker 4 (14:22):
He didn't come in and tell you, hey, give me
three years and see me in three years we're gonna
lose that.

Speaker 5 (14:27):
There ain't no way that's not that I believe give
him time.

Speaker 4 (14:34):
Thirteen penalties is a reflection of your coaching.

Speaker 5 (14:38):
It is, it is.

Speaker 1 (14:43):
And two they can literally miss.

Speaker 5 (14:46):
Your record is in a kickoff. Return to that all day.
And then he got rid of a middling guy barely made.
It was an act off season. It was an act that.

Speaker 1 (14:57):
You guys get let go barely are practice guys who
barely special teamers.

Speaker 5 (15:02):
That happens the first three four weeks and everyone's every sack.
And it came back because that you're.

Speaker 1 (15:07):
Getting your blood rush and worked up over Aaron Glenn
and the Jets. Man, I you, I want you to
go back to your John Harriball tape. I'd rather you
yell at John Harball. I would be down with that.

Speaker 5 (15:18):
Than Aaron Glenn. Four games into the Jets.

Speaker 4 (15:20):
All right, eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox eight seven, seven,
nine nine six sixty three sixty nine. And it's pretty simple.
Has Aaron Glenn been a disappointment so far in New York?
And do you agree he's already the worst coaching Jets

(15:41):
fans franchise history because no one has started oning five
and he's on the cusp of it.

Speaker 3 (15:47):
We'll next by next week, he'll be zero and five.

Speaker 4 (15:50):
We'll continue this conversation next with you eight seven, seven
ninety nine on Fox It is The Odd Couple, Rob Parker,
Kelvin Washington right here on a trash Talking Tuesday.

Speaker 5 (17:42):
Four games in? What do we expect from the Jets?
Who we got?

Speaker 4 (17:46):
Call Thos in California. You're on the odd Couple Fox
Sports Radio.

Speaker 5 (17:49):
What's up? Callos?

Speaker 11 (17:50):
Hey?

Speaker 12 (17:50):
What's up?

Speaker 11 (17:51):
Guys?

Speaker 3 (17:51):
How are you turn you down? Turn your radio down? Please?

Speaker 13 (17:55):
Oh?

Speaker 12 (17:55):
Sorry about that? Sorry about that? Yeah, I just I'm
just starting to check up my daughter from uh from school. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
I was. I was just going to say, Aaron Glenn,
he's super soft. Unfortunately, the pace of the of the NFL,
if you're not on it and you're not trying to win,
they're probably they're just going to get rid of you.

(18:16):
And there's a lot of pressure for gms too.

Speaker 13 (18:19):
Oh yeah.

Speaker 12 (18:19):
But then like basically, like having thirteen penalties in the
game is a reflection, as he was saying, of how
bad the coaching is, because like that should be like
that should be day one.

Speaker 13 (18:34):
Stuff that you're trying to clean up one right, yeah, exactly,
one on one.

Speaker 5 (18:39):
We might not be good, but we're not going to
do it to aurselves, right.

Speaker 12 (18:42):
Yeah, exactly, start from the beginning.

Speaker 13 (18:44):
You know.

Speaker 12 (18:44):
It's just like even professionals can do that. Like if
you're a good professional, it doesn't matter where you where
you get from, like where you get to if your
if your boss comes up says and says, hey, this
is how we're going to do We're gonna start from
you know, door one or whatever, like from the base.

Speaker 5 (19:01):
No, and no doubt I appreciate it. Thank you, man.

Speaker 4 (19:05):
Drew in New Jersey on the Odd Couple of Fox
Sports Radio. What's up, Drew, I.

Speaker 11 (19:11):
Definitely I'm not going to say is he's going to
be a failure. But what I will say is I
would not have hired him to coach at rebuild. I
just don't believe in hiring defensive coaches for rebuilds. I think,
like Floraes, I think Flores only works with the Bengals.
I think that's a good hire for next year only
because number one, he had locker room problems in Miami.
But I feel like in Cincinnati that's Joe Burrow's team,

(19:34):
and Joe Burrow has the offense because of Flores on
the on the defense, and that works like that, I
think defensive defensive coaches should be looking for teams that
are AFL that are aflaw on defense, that are just
focused on offense, because you know, it's an easy fix.

Speaker 1 (19:50):
Drew is Mike McDaniel is now having locker room issues.
We just did a whole report on him last week.
Now they're trying to get him. You know, folks aren't
liking him and all that. So that that definitely can
happen with with offensive guy or a defensive guy.

Speaker 5 (20:04):
I hear your point.

Speaker 4 (20:05):
Though, Cameron in Indiana, you're in the couple of Fox
Sports Radio.

Speaker 5 (20:08):
What's up, Cameron?

Speaker 14 (20:10):
Hey, so listen, I'm twenty nine years old, and there's
only three things I'm sure of in life, Death, Texas, Jets,
Jaggs Brown. They're all gonna suck and doesn't matter for
twenty years. They're all gonna suck twenty years from now.
It doesn't even matter.

Speaker 5 (20:29):
There you go. Yeah, he's only twenty. He's only twenty nine, knows,
which is sad if you're those organizations.

Speaker 4 (20:34):
Made being sixty one and and uh being a fan
of Wow.

Speaker 1 (20:38):
I'm confused why you're getting your blood pressure up over
the Jets four games in what's new?

Speaker 5 (20:42):
Rob? I did you hear another twenty five years? It's new?
It can't be doing this? Is that as bad as
the Jets are? Okay? That no coach has ever been
ozing five? Maybe he'll beat the Cowboys, right, Like, that's
the thing. No, you're like, what, like, what's new? That's
what's new? That's shocking?

Speaker 4 (20:59):
That actually a shock, that is and the whole idea
that they couldn't beat Miami.

Speaker 5 (21:03):
Miami's they're on fire. They're in flames. That that's the one. Yeah, right,
that that's why they needed coach. He's on LinkedIn right.
I'll tell you he's hanging on by thread.

Speaker 1 (21:15):
I just mentioned it down there, and that's why they
needed those two games that Daniels win.

Speaker 4 (21:20):
He's so messed up with this whole thing. What's going
on in Miami. He's now saying he's blacked. I mean,
he wouldn't say you can't get his man at Tiger Woods.
You can't get his man of Tiger Woods. I'm not
dealing with you right now on.

Speaker 1 (21:32):
The other side, right now, Steve de Sager, please save us, Steve, what's.

no man, no, oh shoot, But the Washington Generals did right,
exactly right?

Speaker 1 (22:31):
Oh all right, man? Shoot we could we could start
a couple of different places.

Speaker 5 (22:35):
Let's start with the Jets and Aaron Glenn. Start with
the Jazz.

Speaker 4 (22:38):
Start with Aaron Glenn and how bad this team looks,
and he from if he loses on Sunday against Dallas
to be the first Jets coach. As bad as they've
been to start out zero to five, thirteen penalties last night,
they can't even compete against the bad Miami team.

Speaker 3 (22:54):
I'm saying it's a bad start for Aaron Glenn.

Speaker 13 (22:57):
It is a horrific start, and I'm pulling for Aaron.
I think he was instrumental in helping Dan Campbell turn around,
uh the Detroit Lions the last couple of years. And
I'm just holding out hope that even when Dan Campbell
was you know, took the Detroit job, you know, it

(23:18):
took him. It took him a minute, right, It took
him a minute to to I believe whether they won
three games that first year or two or three games
that first year, And it took a minute. And it
took a couple of turnovers with the draft and free
agents to really put them in a position to where
they had a bunch of guys who bought in to

(23:38):
the way they're trying to do that. And that may
be similar to what Aaron Glenn is going through right
now in New York. But it was bad to watch.
It was tough football to watch.

Speaker 1 (23:49):
Man, Hey, if I want to do it like this,
I'm staying at AFC for this one. There's a handful
of teams that are three and one right now, but
I want to know who you believe are real. So
you got the charge of the three and one and
the Steelers at three and one, the Colts at three
and one, and the Jags at three and one. Who
do you think is real, and maybe who you think is,
you know, fools gold just early in the season.

Speaker 13 (24:09):
I think the Chargers are real because of Herbert and Harball.
I mean, a dynamic coach and a borderline star quarterback
that makes for a more compelling team than say, I
don't know Jacksonville at three and one. Look, and I

(24:35):
played for Jacksonville, but it just I love the fact
that they're really handing the ball off and they're really
featuring Travis at the end. I think that takes a
lot of pressure off of Trevor Lawrence and trying to
be something that we haven't seen him be yet. But look,
all I can say is we'll find out how real

(24:57):
they are this week and the Jaguars born up against
Kansas City because Kansas City may have found the thing
that they have been missing even as far back as
last year in terms of offensive output.

Speaker 3 (25:11):
Let me let me ask you. We mentioned Jacksonville Travis Hanna.

Speaker 4 (25:18):
You know, they're also a good start, but he's not
even got benched on defense.

Speaker 5 (25:24):
What do you make of his start?

Speaker 4 (25:25):
He hasn't been electrifying offensively either, you know, are you
surprised that he didn't have a media impact or no,
this is part for the course.

Speaker 13 (25:35):
I think I don't think it's part for the course,
because anybody that talented, if they were hyper focused on
one side of the ball, we would definitely see them
making strides and helping the team. I think because he
has this notion of and they have the notion as
well of being a two way starter in the NFL,
you take away from the development from either side. I

(26:00):
don't think he can be the best player he can
be on offense our defense without really truly focusing on it.
It's hard to this day do offense that they do defense,
and on this day you're going to do both. I
think if Travis Hunter just work with receivers, I think
he'd be a top, big time, big play receiver for them.

(26:22):
And I think if he was just being a dB,
he could be one of those dbs that finds his
legs and be a real ball hawk and the showstopper.
I think trying to spread a young player two fin early,
I know how difficult it is as a rookie to
come in and play. I couldn't imagine how it is

(26:43):
to come in and play offense and defense. So as
talented as he is, I think he needs to focus
on one aspect of the game first before he ventures
into the other side of the ball. I think that
would help him tremendously.

Speaker 4 (26:57):
I want to ask you about that Cowboys Packers game
which ended in a tie. Of course, just from the
standpoint of the Cowboys feeling good about themselves. I know
they didn't win or whatever, but that's you're talking about.
But that looked like that looked like, you know, the
Packers would come in and and you know, kind of

(27:18):
beat up on them and prove to them that they
were dumb for giving up such a talented player and
all that. I don't know the Cowboys. Did they make
out in this or are they okay? Like people thought
they were going to fall off the face of their
earths and they have.

Speaker 13 (27:35):
Well, what what we do know is offensively, we knew
they were going to be able to put up points.
Dak Prescott is a is a more than serviceable starting
quarterback in the league. Ceedee Lamb and George Picketts are
great outside even though CD is hurt right now, So
we knew they would be able to throw the ball
around the yard. What we did we also knew was

(27:57):
they were in that defense so to be. That's not
a shock that they were in a shootout. We knew
they can put up points. But defensively, I think they're
going to struggle as we get into the you know,
the second quarter of the season, because they're not going
to be it. They're gonna run against a team that
has a better defense than what they've seen and they're

(28:20):
not gonna be able to put up forty points. If
you have to score forty points to tie a game
for the Dallas Cowboys, that's nothing to celebrate. That's not okay.

Speaker 5 (28:29):
But how bad is How bad is it though? For
Green Bay?

Speaker 13 (28:32):
You know what I mean?

Speaker 3 (28:33):
Like to not be able to beat them?

Speaker 13 (28:37):
Well, yeah, I think we have a lot of high
expectations for Green Bay coming into the season. I think
a lot of people had them as or penciled them
in as the representative for the NFC for the Super Bowl.
I myself had some questions about Jordan Love and if
he was that guy. He's shown that he is a
top tier quarterback. But they also got to figure out,

(29:00):
you know, defensively for them as well, Like you have
Michael Parsons, you guys gotta put more pressure. You got
to get to the quarterback. You got to look. I
know this is an offensive league, but if you're like
I said, it goes for them too. If you're scoring
forty and you're tied, that's not good. That's not a
good thing. That shouldn't be celebrated.

Speaker 1 (29:20):
Literally, I don't know if you were talking about the
Ravens or those two teams. Hey lord, I'll get you
out of here on this one. I don't know, and
Rob and I have talked about this. If you just
fail from Mars, you would think the Eagles are dysfunctional
team right now, except they're what eighteen in a row.

Speaker 5 (29:37):
The last twenty four and oh this season.

Speaker 1 (29:40):
But also they are kind of weird, like they go
half without a passing yard with great receivers on the outside,
tight ends and a great receiving running back.

Speaker 5 (29:50):
What do you make of the Eagles?

Speaker 13 (29:53):
I'm making the Eagles like this is a difficult formula
for them to continue to win with if they're there's
no consistency, right, there's no consistency in how they approach
these games. So we don't really know who they are.
We know that they're a running team because of Sakwon
Barkley in the year that he had, and even prior
to that, when they had Sanders and then they had.

Speaker 5 (30:18):
Who was it?

Speaker 13 (30:21):
Sandy was a dope. They had a dual headed backfield.
But even with Jalen Hurts running the ball, they're primarily
a running team. But look, they are dysfunctional. They're like
a family that's close. They got that weird crazy uncle
who comes to the cookout and eventually burned it down
after they've been there. Aj Brown about to burn that
day down, these cryptic messages and reading books on the sidelines.

(30:44):
He's not gonna be able to take too much more
of this man like negative eighteen passing yards in the
second half, one of the top four receivers in the league,
and so he's about to explode. He can't even stop himself.
They don't want eighteen straight including the super Bowl, and
he can't even stop himself from tweezes.

Speaker 5 (31:02):
I do get crazy. It's great.

Speaker 1 (31:05):
It's a strange team, consider how good and how much
success they've had. All right, he appreciate it, man, Thank you.

Speaker 5 (31:09):
We doing again next.

Speaker 13 (31:10):
Week, absolutely, brother.

Speaker 5 (31:12):
No doubt. All right.

Speaker 1 (31:13):
On the way, folks, we got Shekel City. We got
Play of the Day as well, and some shots were
taken at to WNBA Commissioner by one of the best players.

told you you already gone.

Speaker 4 (32:31):
All right, last night, I was just want to know
because I just had the second game of the.

Speaker 3 (32:40):
Bengals in Denver, right, so I had that.

Speaker 5 (32:44):
No, I sew the NFL games last night, the snooze fest.

Speaker 4 (32:47):
It was pretty bad. But anyway, I want to know.
I'm now twenty seven and twenty five on the season.
You go there, you go good with that. I'm over
five hundred, really good. And there my picks Tis minus
one and a half. That didn't work out because it
was one by one.

Speaker 1 (33:04):
Only one by one. I mean for me it worked out,
but not for your bet exactly. That was my best bet.
But I did have the Tigers. See, yeah, you have
the Tigers. The Tiger's were my best bet. Yankees minus
one and a half. I had the Padres plus one
and a half. They lose by two, three to one,
so that didn't work out, and that knowing boy, and
if the Reds plus one and a half runs so

(33:25):
again Red plus one and a half, Padres plus one
and a half, Yankees minus one and a half, and
the Tigers minus one and a half.

Speaker 5 (33:33):
And remember, Kelvin, what's that. I'm not telling you who
to bet on.

Speaker 3 (33:37):
I'm telling you who I bet on?

Speaker 5 (33:39):
All right, there you have it. It is now time
for your tyreck Player of the day. Schoobol drops his
hands into his motion.

Speaker 12 (33:44):
The O two is swinging.

Speaker 5 (33:45):
Miss change up gets Jenkins.

Speaker 4 (33:48):
Noel to start the eighth fourteen strikeouts for Terrek Schoobel.
There was Dan Dickerson, My man, Dan, I'm known Dan
for thirty five years.

Speaker 1 (33:59):
Man, who don't you know the createst part should I've
known you about right a long long time?

Speaker 5 (34:05):
All right?

Speaker 1 (34:05):
That is your tire Rack Player of the air, the
play of the day Tigers Radio right there on the call.

(34:27):
buying should be. Rogie, we have any sound on that,
all right? So WNBA talk believe it or not. That's
because one of their best players in the Featia Colin Collier,
went nuclear on this here today. Here's what she had
to say about the WNBA commissioner.

Speaker 5 (34:41):
At Unrivaled this past February.

Speaker 6 (34:43):
I sat a car across from Kathy and asked how
she planned to address the officiating issues in our league.
Her response was, will only the losers complain about the refs?
I also asked how she planned to fix the fact
that players like Caitlin Angel and Page, who are clearly
driving massive revenue for the league, are making so for
their first four years. Her response was, Caitlyn should be

(35:03):
grateful she makes sixty million off the court, because without
the platform that the WNBA gives her, she wouldn't make anything.
And in that same conversation, she told me players should
be on their knees thanking they're lucky stars for the
media right steal that I got them. That's mentality driving
our league from the top. We go to battle every
day to protect a shield that doesn't value us. The

(35:24):
league believes it succeeds despite its players, not because of them.

Speaker 1 (35:30):
So this gets interesting, Rob because I think it's the
right message, but you could argue the wrong messenger. So
I'll start with why the wrong messenger? Now, the Visa
Collier is one of the best players we know that,
without a doubt, but she talked about the unrival league. Well,
she is a conflict of valflex of interest, yet she
has an investment in that. She's the founder of it,
her husband is the president.

Speaker 4 (35:51):
I wish she would get up there. And you know what,
I'm gonna say this. The WNBA commissioner didn't really like
focus in on all that and was really nice. But
I'm gonna tell you you're talking about her and her
like yeah, without going into all that or answering responding
to all of that. But for her to have a
rival league and destroy the WNBA and all this stuff

(36:13):
sound like private conversation.

Speaker 5 (36:15):
Man, I got an issue with it. Well, hold on,
are not done though?

Speaker 1 (36:18):
Because she's also the vice president of the w NBA
Players Association, Y, I got.

Speaker 5 (36:23):
It's a conflict. So it's a conflict of interests and.

Speaker 3 (36:26):
I don't like it.

Speaker 4 (36:27):
I really really don't like it. She has her she
can complain about whatever, but she has a rival league. Yeah,
let's let me destroy this. Let me put this out
there so that everybody can go over to my league
or whatever it is. It just doesn't feel good. That's
not in her position.

Speaker 1 (36:42):
And that's why I said, I get the message That's
why I say it's right message because I don't think
the WNBA. I don't think they realistically, quietly they might
not admit it allowed. I don't think they were ready
for this boom of attention, this boom of people being like, oh,
what's going on?

Speaker 5 (36:56):
What are they gonna do?

Speaker 1 (36:57):
Obviously, the Kaitlyn Kark anderies, they both come even out
of college in the.

Speaker 5 (37:01):
Area, but their revenue is not up for them to
think that they should be making with the NBA.

Speaker 1 (37:05):
But I'm going to just simply like you can't change
the salary off the blue. I'm talking more global, like
bigger and ready to handle this handling Kaitlin Clark and
the Olympics, like putting her in there.

Speaker 5 (37:15):
You can't handle referee. You just can't pay.

Speaker 4 (37:17):
I'm saying, like with that league and wear it like
like it's a thirty year track record of nobody watching
and nobody showing up and thirty thirty years. Not it
just started and you gotta give it time thirty years.

Speaker 1 (37:31):
And I think there are some owners who have because
NBA owners most of them own these teams too. I
think there's owners who have enjoyed the tax right off
of this that's what it was, that's what it's becoming.
So I think they now did not expect all of
us to kind of be like, oh wow with Kaitlin Clark,
when angelies with Page Beckers, you have attention, And that's
why I think some of the players.

Speaker 5 (37:49):
Are doing instead of getting six thousand people every night.

Speaker 1 (37:52):
But the conflict of entriess does come when you are
the president of the association, vice president association and you're
part of the other league. That doesn't look good when
that's the person screaming the loudest for you. So you
need some more voices to scream if you want change,
because that just doesn't look good because it looks like
it's going to her advantage.

Cardiac Cowboys

Cardiac Cowboys

The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
