USC Annenberg and UH our other sponsor today at the

(03:11):
at the Burbank studios and there was a lot of
students there, including students from USC some of my students,
and it was elf eyes, lips and face e l
F they were to sponsor.

Speaker 2 (03:24):
It was a really nice little turnout and stuff what's

Speaker 5 (03:38):
A lot of women, a lot of women were there

Speaker 2 (03:43):
And cruelty free. Sorry, no, thank you. Yeah. So yeah,
it was great.

Speaker 5 (03:48):
It was about ye the business and UH careers in
the business and all kinds of it was great.

Speaker 2 (03:55):
You did that. But now let's UH bring else a
new intern here, new mente.

Speaker 1 (04:00):
No, no, no, we don't have any room for gonna
act like he didn't know when he put him in.

Speaker 5 (04:07):
No, the next one bring you like, since you're sowing
to nepotism, my nephew is going to be taking over
your job.

Speaker 2 (04:14):
As long as that contract they pay me out DA.

Speaker 5 (04:18):
When you when your contracts up, I'm gonna say I
don't want him. Next time I tell you no, no, no,
I want you to put your contract and then I'm
gonna say we can do.

Speaker 2 (04:28):
I want my nephew to be on the couple instead
of you, and.

Speaker 1 (04:32):
Then I want to say you are with But then no, no,
you will be saying who had what if your puoll
ain't as strong as you think, we'll see what if,
We'll see It'll be nine years for me, three for you,
So we'll see what we're talking about. Me, I'm talking
about that, but I'm talking about what in pay per
rock sass. We can do this right now?

Speaker 2 (04:50):
All right? Uh rob g. We do have breaking news
something that we knew was happening.

Speaker 5 (04:57):
And and I got to give Ian O'Connor who wrote
the Roger the Aaron Rodgers book, because he laid it
all out and.

Speaker 1 (05:06):
He said it was that last week or two weeks ago.

Speaker 2 (05:09):
He said it boom. He didn't sign.

Speaker 5 (05:12):
The Stiller knew everything because he didn't want to sign
and then not go to OTAs and then make a
distraction on he signed, but he didn't show up and
he said it, and you don't have to wait for
me if you want.

Speaker 2 (05:22):
But anyway, rob g the news of the day.

Speaker 7 (05:24):
Is, well, actually jokes on you, any O'Connor, because you
know Connor said Aaron Rodgers was gonna come, but he
was gonna come after mandatory mini camp. Then actually Aaron
Rodgers is like, nah, fam, I'm coming this week so
I can be in town for a Steelers mini camp.

Speaker 2 (05:37):
That's right. I thought he said he was gonna come
for not he said June.

Speaker 7 (05:40):
Twelve, that's when he said he said he'd come after
a mini camp.

Speaker 2 (05:42):
So he was wrong. I thought he said. We got
to get him on to talk about how he was
wrong on this one.

Speaker 7 (05:47):
But anyways, know Aaron Rodgers the big story of the day.

Speaker 2 (05:52):
He is, I don't know if he's retired.

Speaker 7 (05:54):
He's coming out of free agency to sign a one
year deal, coming out the crib, coming out of the
camp to sign a one year deal with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Speaker 2 (06:04):
We'll see how he does.

Speaker 7 (06:05):
Apparently, according to ultiple reports, Mike Tomlin was very instrumental
in getting Rogers to Pittsburgh. Said he don't got to
come to the offseason stuff. You don't got to come
to any voluntary OTAs. Take your time, We'll be here
when you get here. And Aaron Rodgers will be signing
with them as early as tomorrow so that he is
in uniform for mandatory OTAs.

Speaker 2 (06:25):
Yep, and there it is.

Speaker 5 (06:27):
People will clamoring, oh my god, you gotta be in
Why what is he doing?

Speaker 2 (06:34):
He's taking sixty day free agency. He needs to be
in camp.

Speaker 5 (06:39):
Oh wait a minute, he wasn't sign with a team,
but he needs to be in camp. Is that what
the story was? We had people yelling that he's supposed
to be in camp even though he didn't have a
deal done.

Speaker 2 (06:47):
He has not signed yet.

Speaker 5 (06:48):
He's coming Friday to sign, so he hasn't actually hasn't.

Speaker 2 (06:52):
Signed an it looked like he didn't have an offer, Rob,
What are you talking about? But what he did the
right thing.

Speaker 5 (07:01):
Why cause a distraction by signing before and then not going.

Speaker 2 (07:05):
To the OTAs. He did the right thing.

Speaker 5 (07:07):
And guess what, So did the Pittsburgh freaking Steelers.

Speaker 2 (07:14):
They did the right thing.

Speaker 5 (07:16):
They looked at what they've had quarterback wise and say,
guess what, We'll take a future Hall of Famer.

Speaker 2 (07:24):
This has been done in the NFL. For eons.

Speaker 5 (07:28):
Joe Montana finished his career with guess who the Kansas
City Chiefs Aaron Rodgers will be Brett Farv two point zero.
Brett Farv had one bad year with the Jets. They
were eited three and didn't make the playoffs because he

(07:48):
played poorly in the second half, and then he went
to Minnesota finished strong, right, he played well for them.
I'm expecting this exact things. I'm not into gambling. I'm
not telling you the over under is eight and a half.

Speaker 2 (08:05):
Take the over.

Speaker 5 (08:08):
Take the over, because if I gave you a stats,
they would sound very very close to somebody else, and
that quarterback is Patrick Mahomes. Aaron Rodgers actually had more
touchdowns than Patrick Mahomes last year. It's a big difference
in wins because the Chiefs were lucky last year, probably

(08:30):
won four games they had no business winning, but they
won them. I'm looking at this and I'm saying, not
only will the Steelers win eleven games, the Steelers will
finally win a playoff game, and Aaron Rodgers will be

(08:50):
a big reason why they have not had a really
good quarterback in a while. And here you having a
future Hall of Famer Saw it. Tom Brady went to.

Speaker 2 (09:01):
Tampa Bay want to win the Super Bowl. Peyton Manning
went to where do you go?

Speaker 5 (09:13):
Just got and he didn't play great, but guess what
he got out of it? Got a Super Bowl. This
is NFL for veteran quarterbacks. Hall of Fame quarterbacks. All
the great quarterbacks finished their career elsewhere. It is no
surprise that Mike Tomlin has said Russell Wilson, Uh okay,

(09:36):
Justin Fields, Nah okay? Do I want to go to
anybody out? If you talk to players, players who played
with him, get Greg Jennings on the phone. Him and
Aaron Rodgers had a blowout after they stopped playing. But
ain't nobody talking about Aaron Rodgers better as a quarterback,

(09:56):
given protection, given an opportunity to play. I think this
this is a home run. I think the Steelers were
smart to wait for him. If he was gonna play,
why not get this guy's very best and a chance
to go out with a blaze of glory. Aaron Rodgers
has something to play for, which is his name, and
if he could go out on a better record, nobody

(10:18):
wants to leave the way to Jets. That whole situation first,
with the injuries first year and then last year where
everything came apart.

Speaker 2 (10:25):
This makes total sense to me.

Speaker 1 (10:27):
I'm in, I'm out, and it's actually not be so
much because of Aaron Rodgers. I don't think Aaron Rodgers
is a horrible quarterback all of a sudden. I don't
think Aaron Rodgers is a bad quarterback. Aaron Rodgers is
still a very serviceable to pretty good quarterback. My issue
is what they've done to bring in Aaron Rodgers. So
you're in a division with Lamar Jackson, I gotta play twice,

(10:49):
I gotta play Joe Burrow twice, and in a Cleveland
team that should be on the up with if nothing else,
we know they have a good defense. They got rid
of their best receiver, They bring in d kV Metcalf
who has been struggle with drops. They lose their running back,
and the defense, as you talked about all last season,
the defense ain't been defensing like he's supposed to. So

(11:09):
to me, when you bring up to Tom Brady, when
you bring up the Peyton Manning, Peyton Manning and Tom
Brady walked into perfect Taylor made situations where they had
receivers galore, especially Tom Brady and they had defenses that
were top notch. The Steeler defens is getting old. It's
not what it used to be. They' again they don't
have the same offensive schemes. They have not been good

(11:30):
at handling the quarterback and managing the quarterback position. So
I just think it's just not a n upgrade from
Russell Wilson to me, if they were gonna run this back,
this kind of version of a quarterback, then ry not
russ up run out. Russell Wilson to me is pretty
much the same quarterback as Aaron Rodgers at this point
in their career. And Rodgers had the great terr career,
but they're pretty much the same quarterback who would be

(11:53):
second year in the system. Now you've got a star
new receiver who's learning the system. You have a new
quarterback who ain't in yet, but he will be learning
a new system. He's forty one going on forty two.
And he also again is losing receivers, not like he
added DK. They lost pickings and now they have DK.
They don't have a bunch of weapons. I just don't

(12:14):
think the offensive line isn't great. He's not mobile and
he's coming off an Achilles injury from two years ago.
So I don't think Aaron Rodgers is a horrible quarterback.
I don't think this is a Taylor made as it
may have felt like it was. This isn't him going
to the Buccaneers for Tom Brady. They just needed a quarterback.
They finished eight to eight with Jamis Winstonson going Jamis
Winston doing the thirty for thirty and that's why Tom

(12:37):
Brady was like, you know, I'm not gonna give it
thirty for thirty, and that's why they were so good
and that defense was incredible. So to me, I just
look at this again. Ass the division is tight, and
I think Mike Tomlin is for the first time, at
least in my mind, being very desperate with this because
the last point rob Aaron Rodgers. He might be solid.
I don't think they're making the postseason. I think this

(12:58):
is the first time Mike Tomlin is under five hundred.
You can book that for me. What are we betting
on that? Let's bet something on that. Let's bet you
want to get your Jordan's back. No, I don't put
wings on.

Speaker 2 (13:08):
No, let's get Jordan's You don't you want to win
your Jordans back? No, no, no, don't you want to
get your Jordans on that? You put some wings on it.
You don't want to get your Jordans back. Now, we'll
put some wings on it. Have plenty of I have plenty,
we have.

Speaker 5 (13:18):
No A good one I love. This is the one
I would love the time. This is the one I
want to do.

Speaker 1 (13:23):
You said five hundred. They will not make the post case. No,
you said sub five hundred. That's what Mike will be.

Speaker 5 (13:31):
Let's bet that.

Speaker 2 (13:32):
If you got that, let's why not I am betting.
I'm not betting Jorans.

Speaker 1 (13:35):
Let's bet Jordans. Don't you want to get your Jordans back?
And I will get the Jordans back. I'm not betting
on this.

Speaker 2 (13:41):
He doesn't want to get his Jordans back. What seven
and ten?

Speaker 5 (13:46):
He has no no conviction if your dollars on Jordans
and not a chance to get him back.

Speaker 1 (13:53):
And I'm so sure, let me let me just let
me even make sure he even signs.

Speaker 2 (13:58):
He might back out of this.

Speaker 1 (13:59):
Well, if he's then that's different. I'm saying, let me
let me be him signed. I just I don't get
the Steelers in this.

Speaker 5 (14:06):
Steelers won ten games you ready with no quarterback the
last few they won ten games two years ago.

Speaker 2 (14:12):
I don't know who was a quarterback.

Speaker 1 (14:14):
Ten games their defensive ten games with no quarter a
running game ten games.

Speaker 5 (14:19):
You think the Steelers are gonna have nobody to run
the football on.

Speaker 2 (14:22):
Their defense will be as bad as it was a
year ago? Is that was you're saying? Why not? Okay?
I don't why not?

Speaker 1 (14:29):
I think that's what they do and they would you
agree that the Jets had a better offensive team than
the Pittsburgh Steelers. No last year, Yes, they did, look
at those receivers the Jets had.

Speaker 5 (14:40):
No the Jets had a dead issues last year defensively,
that wasn't the same defense that they had two.

Speaker 1 (14:45):
Years He went five and twelve with more offensive weapons
than they'll have with the Steelers. And again I'm not
saying Aaron Rodgers gonna throw only ten touchdowns and twenty interceptions.
I don't think the team is as good as they
think they are. Vision that is going to be very
good to competitive.

Speaker 5 (15:02):
They won ten games last year, and two years ago
they won ten games in that very.

Speaker 1 (15:07):
Same six straight games but in that same, very very
same division, and I think they're going down they're trending downward.

Speaker 5 (15:16):
What's more likely for Aaron Rodgers than your one? A
losing season or a playoff victory. Will continue that conversation
next with you. I say a winning season and a
playoff victory. Kelvin says neither one. That they'll have a
losing season for Mike Tomlin and the Steelers eight seven,
seven ninety nine on Fox eight seven, seven nine nine
six sixty three sixty nine.

Speaker 2 (15:35):

he says, something eleven games or something eight seven, seven
ninety nine on Fox.

with Rob, which Kevin I love you and.

Speaker 2 (18:19):
I think they're gonna win eleven games.

Speaker 6 (18:23):
But yeah, I think they're gonna I think they're gonna

Speaker 2 (18:29):

Speaker 4 (19:13):
Then I'm going to win the playoff game and all
this just to go eight and nine.

Speaker 6 (19:17):
That's your ceiling, eight and nine and part of the
country where my family's from.

Speaker 4 (19:22):

Yeah, yeah, yeah yeah. Well it's a little few hours before.

Speaker 1 (19:47):
I know, you don't care about the find It's gonna
start tomorrow week and Saturday, and.

Speaker 9 (19:56):
But you know this is always going to be about
what was best for Pittsboro's future. I mean, you know,
being up there better draft. I'm not mister fan, but
but I do like to listen to consumers of a
strong market, and this is more or less okay. The
football was going to have to play out with whoever
they got, whether it be Cousins or Aaron Rodgers doesn't work.
I don't know the details of his contract. I'm not
sure if it's out, but I remember the thing with Cousins,

(20:18):
that do you split the better part of forty mil?
You know for Kirk Cousins that maybe get you the
same thing you get.

Speaker 4 (20:23):
With Aaron Rodgers.

Speaker 9 (20:23):
So it's you know, it's one of those things. But
with a depleted offensive corps and not beginning the conversation,
I know that Joe Burrow had both his guys last year,
but let's see what that solidified contract.

Speaker 5 (20:35):
If it does Joe Burrow had all his players right
and had MVP stats and didn't make the playoffs.

Speaker 1 (20:43):
Okay, all right, appreciate the calls and the offers to
gamble too. Thank you for that, all right. On the way,

Okay, it's by it pause.

Speaker 4 (21:34):
But that's how important you guys are that I'm actually
stepping away from Adam Silvers NBA Finals annual NBA Finals address, and.

Speaker 5 (21:45):
He was telling you how to you guys, how great
it is to have Green Bay playing Pittsburgh in the
NBA Finals and to celebrate it.

Speaker 2 (21:54):
Right.

Speaker 4 (21:55):
Oh so, Professor Parker can only enjoy the finals if it's.

Speaker 2 (21:58):
Too big man, honest son.

Speaker 5 (22:00):
But the idea that he had I been at the
private when when he was on that show, I just
would have said, I'm just wanna like bring it up
to you.

Speaker 2 (22:07):
Okay, I hear what you're saying.

Speaker 5 (22:09):
But like, the two of the worst rated finals ever
included the San Antonio Spurs, which was a model franchise,
had great players, whatever, and they still had two of
the lowest rated because of the market size.

Speaker 2 (22:22):
That's all we're talking about, Mark.

Speaker 5 (22:24):
I'm not saying you have to have big cities and
all these other things to do it. But let's not
act like it doesn't matter who's playing in it as
far as TV ratings.

Speaker 4 (22:35):
That's all I'm saying, Professor Parker, it doesn't matter. I'm
just saying that they're getting the next fall. I don't
know what's wrong with my voice, Sorry, guys. Next Fall
is year one of a new eleven year seventy plus
billion dollars.

Speaker 2 (22:52):
It doesn't change numbers though.

Speaker 4 (22:55):
Ratings could be terrible and it doesn't matter.

Speaker 2 (22:58):
I get that.

Speaker 5 (22:59):
I get that, but it says something about your product
because you can't have it both ways. You can't teut
the ratings and make it a big deal when they
are really good and then when they're not, mark act
like they don't matter. So which one is it? Because
I've honestly, I've heard the NBA talk about I've heard.

Speaker 2 (23:17):
Them tell.

Speaker 4 (23:19):
We've talked about this. It seems like every time online
we talk about this, and you know what, you're We're
the same age, so you know this as well as me. People,
the thing at play here is the NBA more than
any of the major sports leagues in North America. It

(23:39):
has been a storyline since the seventies what is wrong
with the NBA and ever since in times of struggle,
but even in times of prosperity. Everyone wants to talk
about what is wrong with the NBA, and I you
know that conversation. It's just never as loud in the

(24:01):
other leagues. All these leagues have their problems. Every single
major sports league has issues. If we really want to
dig in and talk about them. Every league has issues,
every league can do it better. But look the ratings
discussion in these finals. It's going to happen every single
game and the ratings probably will be bad. But it's

(24:22):
like to me, if you like basketball, why would you
not watch?

Speaker 2 (24:26):
Why don't know?

Speaker 5 (24:27):
I'm asking you, know what, that's a great question. And
Sga is a good, young, exciting player. The Pacers have
had an unbelievable run with great wins up and down
the road, every time being underdogs and they've won, and
you're right, The question is why won't people watch? That
is a question that is something marked that interests me

(24:49):
because the Okac has been great all year. His numbers
are historically great. Somebody you should want a team you
should want to watch, and a young player you should
want to watch. And the Pacers are cardiac kids you
should want to watch. And you know, and I know,
and Kelvin knows people won't watch, and I agree with you.

Speaker 2 (25:12):
I agree, But we should want to see these this finals.
Why don't we?

Speaker 4 (25:16):
But you know, if people don't want to watch them,
don't watch. I don't care, Like I mean, this is
gonna be a great series. It's been a circus of
a season. We have an unexpected finals. The Pacers have
been great theater. I'm gonna watch it. If you don't
want to watch it, and I'm not talking about you specifically, no,

(25:37):
I know what's the metaphorical you. If you don't want
to watch it, then don't watch it, right and the
league will be fine and the NBA will The NBA
will not fold if they have bad ratings in these finals.
I promise you the NBA there will be a draft
on June twenty fifth, Cooper Flags going number one to Dallas.
Free agency will start on June thirtieth, and next season,

(25:59):
when the NBA brings back NBC and welcomes in Amazon
and counts to billions in their new TV deal, they're
not going to care one wit about what the ratings
of these finals were.

Speaker 1 (26:09):
Mark Stein, our guest distribute of the style line substat
Fox Sports Radio NBA insider Mark, let me ask you
this about the actual game.

Speaker 2 (26:16):
We got the Pacers.

Speaker 1 (26:17):
We know what they do offensively, we know what the
thunder dude defensively. If you look at Vegas, it looks
like this is going to be an easy route for
the Thunder. If you're you know, Rick Carlisle, what are
you saying to the Pacers to make this thing competitive
and maybe win it?

Speaker 4 (26:33):
Well, look, the question is going to be can the Pacers,
you know, play their game offensively and run on a
defense that is the most feared defense in the league.
I mean the Thunder. They're so good defensively, and then
they bring Caruso and Wallace off the bench and they
might get even better defensively with their second unit. It's

(26:55):
it's crazy. It's going to be a challenge. And you
know what an underrated thing here that people really aren't
talking about in these playoffs. Okase, he has actually played
at a slightly faster pace than even the Pacers. So,
Oklahoma City, everything Indiana does well, the Thunder theoretically do
it better. But I think we're going at least six games.

(27:16):
I have that much respect for the Pacers. They've just
been too good. They really are a team. And listen,
I've used this line before, but I don't think i've
said on this show, so I'm gonna go ahead and
repeat it. I am an incurable grudge holder. It's one
of my weaknesses. I'm bad at getting letting go of grudges,
and that's why I'm a Tyree Haliburton fan. This guy

(27:40):
is using the fuel of this overrated story, which it
shouldn't even be a story that anonymous poll of players
who quote called him overrated. It was thirteen players out
of ninety that were interviews, only thirty. If this is
thirteen guys in the league said he was over rated,

(28:00):
and he is using the slight from that as fueled
this endless amount of fuel. He's played amazing. He's already
had five games with at least ten assists and one
or fewer turnovers. It's gonna be Look the pacers of
one game won in the last two rounds. Can they
steal game one tonight? The other variable here, guys, is

(28:21):
it's the finals, and it is so I'm telling you,
even as a broadcaster, to step on the hardwood at
the finals, it just feels completely different than any other
regular season and playoff game. And there is very little
finals experience on these two teams. So we don't know
how OKAC is going to react. How will OKC react

(28:44):
to being an overwhelming favorite and stepping onto that final stage.
Alex Caruso is the only Thunder player with finals experience
and that was in the bubble, which is not the same.
So we're going to see how the Thunder adapt to
this new environment, and that I think gives the Pacers

(29:04):
some hope too. It's not like the Pacers have tons
of experience, but hey, Siakam is their second best player,
second most important player, and he's won a championship. He's
done this before, so that's true.

Speaker 2 (29:16):
I think.

Speaker 4 (29:16):
I think it's interesting, no doubt about it.

Speaker 5 (29:19):
And Halliburton, to me, is just the games that he's won.
We talked about it before. I mean, Steph has no
game and like none of those and he's got like
five of those, you.

Speaker 1 (29:31):
Know, fourteen from the game time or winning shots and
fresh time, Like it's.

Speaker 5 (29:35):
Pretty incredible and everybody can't do it, like somebody you
know this Mark, You've covered the league for a long time.
Everybody can't make those kind of shots. And when you
have a player like that, I think you're never out
of it. I like the Pacers. I think the Pacers
win game one without question. To me, I think if
you come in like that's the game, you know you

(29:56):
gotta win, and a home team, that's to kind of
you know what I mean?

Speaker 2 (30:00):
I like the Pacers a lot in this game one.

Speaker 4 (30:03):
Look, when you look at the thunders resume, they are
They're a historically great team, and they should win this series.
They should be the champions. Their resume compared to pass champions,
they check all the same boxes. But I do think
the Pacers really are the personification of a team. I

(30:25):
think they can take this thing to at least six.
I'm with you, I would not be surprised if they
stole Game one again. And I'm just really curious to
see how the Thunder react to the setting and the
pressure of being such an overwhelming favorite, because I feel
like the most common pick in this series is Thunder

(30:47):
and five. The Thunder are expected to roll through these
guys and gentlemen, gentlemen, sweep these guys, and I'm not
so sure it's going to be that easy.

Speaker 2 (30:55):
All right, Well, so your pick is and going Thunder.

Speaker 4 (30:59):
And six because again, I I mean, I you know,
they're they're justifiably the favorites. I'm not trying to.

Speaker 2 (31:05):
Nobody, I think, but they're all that's why we play.

Speaker 4 (31:09):
Right, I mean, we know that Indy is a tougher
out than Indy has been the most underrated team in
the league all seasons. Now, you can't really say that
anymore because you're not underrated when you can see NBA Finals.
But to this point they've been slept on and doubted,
and you know, let's see, let's let's throw it.

Speaker 5 (31:27):
I think we're going to have a remake of two
thousand and four. That's all I'm gonna say to you.

Speaker 4 (31:32):
Wow, Okay, so you're picking the Pacers.

Speaker 2 (31:34):
I'm going to pick the Pacers.

Speaker 5 (31:38):
Saying, you know, like in two thousand and four, right,
I mean that they weren't supposed to win that The
Lakers have four Hall of potential Hall of.

Speaker 2 (31:46):
Famers on that team, and I picked them because I
was by it. You're a homerk. No, no, legitimately, they're
old Mark. We appreciate you man.

Speaker 4 (31:56):
All right, guys, talk to come alone.

Speaker 1 (31:57):
With seventy six years old Gary Peg was a all
right on the way Shekel City, and we'll get you
set up too with the player of the day. Stay
with you, boys is Rob Parker Kevin Washington the OACABA
Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 3 (32:09):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Odd Couple
with Rob Parker and Kelvin Washington weekdays at seven pm
Eastern four pm Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio.

Speaker 1 (32:20):
App Fox Sports Radio The OCABA. Rob Parker, kelvin Washington, Hey,
I didn't know this one, but at least got me
dance a little bit little nice saw so so one
two steps And don't ask Rob G what showed us
is because that's racist. Well maybe the music is not
correlated to the folks on the actual show.

Speaker 2 (32:41):
I never saw this show. What single guy? This show
is about me? Yeah? You still love it? This s
would be a jam. But I was married? Am I
a single guy? Divorce? I'm not? You know what I mean?

Speaker 5 (32:55):
I think, Yeah, you know, I don't think we look
at me as single. Like if you never would marry,
you would be a single guy. You love divorced you
live in a big span though.

Speaker 2 (33:03):
Yeah, I'm agreed, Like twenty years is good.

Speaker 8 (33:05):
Like say you were eighteen years, two kids, you're divorced now,
But if you got married for a few years, you're
still single.

Speaker 2 (33:11):
Yeah you're single, bro.

Speaker 1 (33:12):
If you agree, if you have you had, if you
all had kids and still had to stay in contact
and touch, and then I wouldn't be Yeah, you'd be
divorced because you you still have to live a life
with that person.

Speaker 8 (33:21):
Like what it feels like, Rob, Like you were the
assistant coach to Belichick one year and you're like, I
want to be called coach.

Speaker 2 (33:25):
Now you did one year.

Speaker 1 (33:27):
I just thought you were gonna say, he'd like to
hang out with Bill, Well, I want the leftovers. Yeah,
that's what I'm saying.

Speaker 2 (33:33):
You know how you know that? Hey, Hey, you know
the two man games. Hey, girl with my boy? You
got a girl? I got a girl cool can Yeah,
but she's four hundred pounds not doing that. I'm just saying,
you ever had to take the L for a homie?

Speaker 1 (33:45):
They take an L for me. You never had to
take an L, Rob G, I know you had to
take L. Yeah, he still takes els. Yeah, Alex, you
had to take AL.

Speaker 2 (33:53):
I don't know. You might have been sabbatical at that point.
Every take. Yeah, you know what, I'm the wing man.

Speaker 3 (33:57):
You won?

Speaker 2 (33:58):
Did I get you hooked up? And I to go
my way?

Speaker 1 (34:00):
Listen, top tier. So I'm gonna say, goose man iceman,
pick a man. All right, let's get to it, and
it's time now for Sheckl City.

Speaker 3 (34:08):
Welcome to shekel City. The whole base for Rob Parkers
Day Dicks against the spread today?

Speaker 2 (34:20):
How you doing two and oh last night? Okay, we
up to well one fifty and one forty eight one
and one forty eight tonight.

Speaker 5 (34:32):
I think the Pacers bet the Ranch on the Pacer
plus ten and a half. I think they're going crazy
plus ten and a half. I'm gonna take them plus
ten and a half in Game one.

Speaker 2 (34:43):
I still got a thunder. That's crazy. I agree that
phrase half is a lot. That's a total disrespect.

Speaker 5 (34:50):
And I'm saying and most get series when a team
is underdog or whatever, like when the Sixers beat Kobe
and the Lakers. Yeah, they win game one usually and
they might not win another one or something like that,
but get in like the team is trying to get there.

Speaker 2 (35:03):
I love the patients and that uh so that's thunder twelve.
That's my best bet. And then I got uh Texas
Rangers plus one and a half.

Speaker 5 (35:15):
They're in Tampa Bay taking on the Rays and Saint
Louis plus two and a half taking on Kansas City.
So again, Saint Louis plus two and a half runs,
Rangers plus one and a half runs, and of course
the UH Indiana Patris plus ten and a half. And

(35:36):
remember Calvin that I'm not telling you who to bet on.
I'm telling you who I bet on.

Speaker 1 (35:42):
By the way, real quick, your boy Steven A. Smith
what and the looking like Morgan Freeman and Bruce Almighty.
He's got the all white suit going. I thought he
was godly out there. I mean he that's how you know.
He was like, I'm gonna make sure they see me
all white with the white tie.

Speaker 2 (35:59):
But the camera on me. I don't care if it's
the finals, put it on me. How much SGA make
I make that too. I'm the one hundred million dollar man.
But who's gonna win a game? I don't care who winning.
I'm winning the game looking like a black glass of milk.

Speaker 1 (36:18):
That man said, give me the all white with the
white shirt, with the white tie, with the white suit
with the white socks.

Speaker 2 (36:24):
All right, stephen A, all right?

Speaker 1 (36:26):
Now, Uh, there's some reports out here Rob that Doris Burke,
who has got Richard Jefferson, Mike Breen, obviously they're on
the call for the NBA Finals, that things could be
changing next season. Specifically it could be for Doris Burke.
I have just thought, man ESPN, and this is not

(36:47):
a doors Burke knock as much as I think they've
been chasing their tail, playing catch up ever since.

Speaker 2 (36:51):
They let the perfect situation go.

Speaker 1 (36:53):
Rob Mark Jackson, Mike Breen and Stan vank Are Jeff
van Gundy was perfect. If TNT had the perfect pre
and post game, they were the perfect end game crew.
And now that there's kind of this marriage between them,
how perfect would it We could have got what I
was clamoring.

Speaker 2 (37:12):
For, screaming for for a decade, Rob g Man.

Speaker 1 (37:15):
If TNT could do the pre and post and if
Mike Breed and the crew could do the game, that
would be perfect.

Speaker 2 (37:21):
And they twitched it up.

Speaker 1 (37:22):
They let Mark Jackson go, they let Jeff van Gunny go,
and now they're having issues, can't find the perfect they
got Doc Rivers.

Speaker 2 (37:27):
Doc Rivers said, no, I'm not leaving. I'm not going anywhere.
Who a lot, I'm going to Milwaukee. And he left.

Speaker 1 (37:33):
They now they're scrambling, and now that JJ Redick was like, no, no,
I'm here man, because I left the analytical minded gawm
was good.

Speaker 2 (37:39):
That was good, that one mind the game and then
he's out of there.

Speaker 5 (37:43):
Well, but but Kelvin, I just think I hear what
you're talking about. But ESPN didn't get rid of him
because they weren't good at what they were doing. They
were trying to entice the investors who were thinking that
the ESPN was too fat because you know the business.

Speaker 2 (37:58):
All those guys still got paid.

Speaker 5 (38:00):
But it looks good when you when you're letting go
talent and then people look and go they're finally tightening
their belts. They're finally not over.

Speaker 2 (38:07):
That's all it is. It's a window dressing. It has
nothing to do with it. They let Jalen Rose go
with two or three years left on the deal. They
still had to pay them his money.

Speaker 5 (38:16):
But but but it looks good when you're trying to
get investors who are saying, man, what's going on and
there's been too much money because it didn't make sense.

Speaker 2 (38:25):
I get that. That's what I mean.

Speaker 1 (38:26):
It's just like now, and my perfect dream scenario could
have happened. Rob, let me tell you something. We could
have had Chuck, Ernie and Shaq and Kenny and then
Mike bring Jeff and Gunny.

Speaker 2 (38:36):
That show wouldn't be good once it moves over.

Speaker 1 (38:38):
I'm just saying, I mean, listen, get involved business there's
a chance, says saying oh yeah, well, ESPN not gonna
do anything.

Speaker 2 (38:46):
McAfee's show isn't exactly the way it was on YouTube either.

Speaker 1 (38:50):
I'm hoping that that crew that's there maintains and stays
the same.

Speaker 2 (38:54):
Hope
