the National Football League with Brandon Ayuk requesting his trade,
but first the Odd Couple cruising full effect.

it up, Martin, so let's get down right down to it.

I honestly, a few years ago, Martin, I was saying,
Deebo Samuel.
Speaker 3 (02:29):
Might be the best football player in the world. I
could I could square that to sell me. I'm with you.

Yeah, I mean, and now I think you know there's
an AJ Brown in that class. But you know, dude,
just just a great football player, can do so many
different things. He's obviously been felled by injuries the last
few years.
Speaker 3 (02:50):
Even when he plays, he just hasn't been the same.

And so I think it might be fair to say
that Brandon Ayuk is their best receiver. I think Debo
when he's at his best, is still better, and he's
certainly more versatile. But I think last year Brandon Ayuk
was their man as a.

Receiver checking team off.

Now, yeah, right, he has requested a trade because in
this summer when so many wide receivers are getting paid,
he's not one of them.

Yet.

Now, the Niners still have him under contract for one
more year and then at least the possibility of franchising
him for two years, so they don't have to do anything.
So with that being the case, I mean, how big
of a deal do you think it is that he's
requesting a trade.

I think it's not a big deal yet, it depends
on what's going to happen.
Speaker 3 (03:48):
Mike Sholver a good friend of mine.
Speaker 4 (03:50):
Actually, Mike Sholver reported that the contract they offered him
was twenty six million a year, which that's a lot
more than fourteen point one that he's about to make.
But I think, if I'm Deebo, I mean I'm sorry,
if I'm Brandon Ayuk, I want at least a number
that starts with three, maybe closer twenty nine and a
half when I'm looking at Justin Jefferson making thirty five

and aj Brown making thirty two, like those guys up
above him. The reason I say not yet because we've
seen this in the past with the forty nine ers
and some of their key players. Right George Kittle, he
didn't sign his extension until August thirteenth of twenty twenty
when he was up for a deal. Deebo Shamuel, you

just mentioned him, he didn't remember just two years ago
he requested a trade. He didn't sign his extension until
July thirty first, So I'd say I will officially go
into def con one. In terms of Brandon Ayuk and
his contract situation with the Niners, I say I give
it August first for me to really start to be

concerned about it.

I think demanding a trade seem.
Speaker 1 (04:55):
To think they're going to offer him because the situations
you mis the Niners ended up ponying up.
Speaker 3 (05:03):
That's what I'm saying. I'm not sure they're going to
do that in this case. I think it depends on
what pony up looks like all the way.
Speaker 4 (05:09):
But the forty nine ers have shown that they value
their core players and they just made Christian McCaffrey, the
highest paid, excuse me, the highest paid running back in
the NFL. If they view i Yuk as a guy
that they can keep, they'll get this done. If they
view him as a guy that is, that is, somebody
that they can easily find replacements for, they won't. And

it kind of leans like they may not they think
they'll be able to find replacements for him. Drafting Ricky
Person in the first round, paying Juwan Jennings all that money, right,
because the third wide receiver got paid like he had
a number two, right, And I think that debo for
as good as a football player he is, I don't
know about a pure wide receiver when you consider all

the things that go into what Deebo is asked to
do versus all the things that wide receivers are asked
to do. Deebo, those are two different jobs. Like you,
like we talked about how good he is, I've never
seen him take a handoff.

He's a pure receiver.

And that's kind of what Deebo had an issue with
initially when they wanted him to do so much running
with the football, right, is.
Speaker 3 (06:13):
That he knew it could wear him down and water
him down.

As a receiver, and to be honest, Martin, it seems
like it's kind of done that. It really seems like
it's kind of done that. I think the difference here
is that the Niners know that a year from now
they're likely going to be paying Brock Purty some pretty

big money. And so can you afford to have a
debo a kill you already got of course, bosaon and
some defensive players McCaffrey. Now, I uke like all these guys,
and then you're gonna have Purty all these guys making
that much money. That is the question, and I think

that's what they're mulling over. That's why Ayuk's only been
offered twenty six.

Million a year.

Here's how it can become ugly because I'm not I
don't really feel like.

They're going to pay him the huge money he's looking for.

Not that they don't value him, but I just think
they feel like one they're gonna have to figure this
money thing out as they move forward with Brock Purdy
next year. They're in a very good space right now
because he's not making any money, and they also know
we've got control again, Ayuk is under contract, right, they

can franchise tag him for two more years?

Does it really suit Brandon Ayuk?

And he is great, don't get me wrong, But does
it really suit him to sit out a year? Or
I can't even imagine him sitting out the whole season.
But you know what I'm saying, like, is that good
for him? It's kind of like t Higgins in Cincinnati.
I know he's been franchised, but he's not happy, but
he's He's said, look, I'm gonna play this year because

the best thing for T Higgins is to go out
there in ballste you want somebody to write. And so
everybody knows how good Ayuk is, So I'm not saying
like sitting out.

A season would totally ruin his value.

But we are at a time, Martin where there are
a ton of wide receivers out there that are good.
Speaker 3 (08:31):
You mentioned they drafted Piersall.
Speaker 1 (08:34):
How I mean, Jenny's now, he's not as good as Ayuk,
but he looked awfully good in the Super Bowl, you know,
and he's probably feeling like it. Maybe they're feeling like
he can play a little bigger role. Obviously, you still
have Kittle as a tight end, and then Deebo and
when you can draft these receivers and they're a great

one coming into the league seemingly every year. Are you
you know a guy that sits out a year? And again,
I don't think that'll happen.

I don't know.

I just don't know that a ton of teams are
gonna be ready to pay him big money.

Look at Buffalo.

Buffalo thinks of itself as a contender, and they don't
have one really number one wide receiver, and they're not
looking to.

Get one, it seems, I mean, there's one right there.
You make that call Brady being over there to San Francisco.

I mean, he'd be great, you know.

I look Baltimore, I think you know, I'd love to
see him in Baltimore, the Chargers, and as I said, Buffalo,
everybody's mentioned in Pittsburgh or Washington, New.

England's got money. So I just I don't know.

I think at the end off, if you wants to
make it ugly by basically being like, look i'll sit out,
I mean I won't play, then it could really get
ugly and tough for the Niners.

But I don't see him doing that.

Hell, Joey Bosa yesterday last year set out for twenty.

Nine days from away from training camp.

shown they are not afraid to get down in the
in the mud and hold on with these Some of
these guys, they will, they do not. They keep their
powder dry over there in San Francisco when it comes
to these hold ups, they don't get worried about it.

Well, but a lot of times they get these guys
back by paying them.

No, I mean, that's how they get it back every time.
They get back every time.

I just don't I don't know, and I think they
really value you.

He's really good. I don't know that they can they
give him thirty million.

I mean really, I'm not sure, and I don't know
that it's gonna be worth him holding out.

So it'll be interesting, you know.

Maybe he's looking at it like he'll hold out for
some games, uh and then see, you know, see how
the teams doing.

I mean, that would be interesting. That would be the
best case.

Without it, if they come out and all of a sudden,
brock Party looks like a seventh round pick. They can't
move the ball. The safeties are just closing down on McCaffrey.
That would be optimal for for our Yuke if if
he does decide to hold out that long. But I
don't see him doing though. Uh what's his name? R
Le'Veon Bell? Where he since the entire year trying it

didn't benefit Le'Veon Bell. I mean, basically, his career was
never the same. I think a lot of that had
to do with Adam Gase being the guy that was
his next head coach, but ultimately he did lose the stuff.

Yeah, I think I think he didn't recognize. And this
is kind of what we talked about with Tua yesterday.
Sometimes you need to recognize when you're in a good situation,
and Le'Veon Bell was in a great situation in Pittsburgh.

He goes to the Jets for money.
Speaker 1 (11:52):
Look, I'm glad he got paid, but he did he
got less money than he could, you know, than Pittsburgh
was ultimately offering him at one.
Speaker 3 (12:00):

And his was his career was never the same, This
guy that might have been on the Hall of Fame trajectory,
and he went out meekly.

Sure, you know.

So it's just and that's the thing with a Yuk,
like shit, what about a Carolina if do they go
after him New England now New England, I don't know.
Could that be promising down the road? Could he help
Drake maybecome something?

But if I'm Brandon Ayuk and I'm playing in San
Francisco right now, and I wake up and I'm in
Carolina or New England, I mean, I guess the money,
you know, that's what he ultimately wants. And I'm not
mad an him for that, But those aren't great football
situations New England.

I mean, maybe it could prove to be.
Speaker 1 (12:46):
And I'm not totally out on Bryce Young, but I
just I don't he's in a much better position.

I was never in on Bryce Young because he's shorter
than me in ways, less than me, and that does
not make for a good football player. But you you
you you got a little meat on your bum so well,
I mean yeah, but then.

You look purty, probably shorter than you in ways.

I saw Brock at the Super Bowl a couple of
years ago, and uh no, can't can't can confirm he's
bigger than me. But uh you know one place that
would be a great fit. I just don't think the
forty nine ers would do it. If the Lion the
Lions have the second most cap a ton of cap space.
They could pay him for at least two or three
years if he if he found his way to Detroit
opposite all'm on around Saint Brown Lord at Mercy Cancel Christmas.

Yeah, that'd be a great move for Detroit. But if
i'm uh, yeah, the forty Niners wouldn't do that. Yeah,
the Niners, I mean the team you just played in
the NFC Championship Game. Because here's the other thing, Martin,
the Niners need to cast the chips at some point.
They have been knocking on the door for years. Kyle

Shanahan's been knocking on the door for years, and if
they don't get it done yet again, they'll be closed.

Whether it's they'll be the playoffs, they'll be close.

I'm not saying they definitely get into the NFC Title
Game or the super Bowl, but at this point close
is just not good enough. And so that's another reason
that they can't withstand. You know, a really problematic situation

Because we know that Rogers has been talking about playing
with Devonte Adams again, getting him traded to the Jets,

and while Adams hasn't shot it down, he hasn't actually
you know, played into it as much as Rogers is.
And today Devonte Adams agent Kenny Chapman, two of his
agents or both of them, they tell Adam Schefter VSPN
this is baseless this is a direct quote, unfounded speculation,

and DeVante is expected to be with the Raiders as
there has been absolutely no trade talk.

Now, why would agents come out and say that, Like,
if I'm an agent and my client is with a
bad team, I I'm not so much upset by speculation
that he could be in a better situation.

Right, But the fact that they were willing to come
out and in no uncertain term shoot this down kind
of tells me it is a bunch of hogwash.

And that's what I mean.

I mean, is this Aaron da running off at the
mouth and you know, kind of talking junk like he
does with a lot of things.

I think it's a mix between Aaron Rodgers just talking
out the left side of his mouth and also that
I'm telling you that show, I know, it just came
out that Netflix show Receiver Grace. Some of the clips
from Davonte Adams, how angry he seemed on the sidelines.
It's like the obviously it's like watching the real world football, right,

you know what I'm saying, Or like it's it's a
reality TV show just about football players as oppose anything else.
So it's edited in a way that we don't get
to see all the other things, right, we just see
and the narrative that they were painting in the shows
that DeVante was upset, I mean, and to be honest,
his his comments to the media showed that he was
upset as well. But he looked so mad, and without
(19:52):
the context that we have of other receivers in that
same position, like you know, we get miked up and
all that stuff, but not a full on camera crew
just focusing on one guy all the time like it
was in receiver. For Devonte Adams, it was impossible to
think that he wanted to be there after watching that.

Yeah, so what do you make of it? I mean,
is that just frustration in the moment. And it might
be you know, if you saw a couple, a married
couple have an argument, you might think, oh my gosh,
they'll never work it out, you know what I mean,
the divorce is impending, and in reality things might be

fine the next day or the next day or two.
So I don't know, it could just be that situation.
But Aaron Rodgers shouldn't certainly isn't helping it. And look,
I'm not mad at Aaron Rodgers, I mean, a great player,
a former teammate. Sure he'd love to have him in
New York with the Jets, but at the end of
the day that this might just.

Be a bunch of a much ado about nothing.

And I mean again, the agent's coming out and saying
it the way they have and and Martin, they don't
say that if it's if DeVante isn't like.

On board with it. They work for him.

Exactly exactly, they represent his interests and it shows that
to me, it shows that he is not interested in
being traded, which is.

And that's I mean, maybe just likes his lifestyle out
there in Vegas on the West Coast.

Aaron Rodgers once and you can talk about wanting to
play with Derek Carr, and Derek Carr on his best
day isn't close to Aaron Rodgers. So he still chose
to leave Aaron. And now it appears that he has
no I'm not saying they're not legitimately friends.

I feel like they are from what we've.

Seen, but he certainly doesn't seem to have any more
interest in, you know, going going to play with Aaron
now or may he doesn't want to go to the
East Coast.

But it doesn't seem like he's as.

Excited about a potential reconciliation as Aaron is.

No, it doesn't seem near nearly.

But I think also to Aaron, that might have just
been a throwaway comment by Aaron Rodgers when especially, would
you consider the things that Aaron Rodgers has been up
to this offseason, all of the non football things like maybe, hell,
maybe he was with it until you realize Aaron Rodgers
was missing things like mandatory mini camp to go on
vacation in Egypt.

Maybe he was on board before he realized that Aaron
Rodgers might have been, you know, dipping into the fund
box a little too much like Aaron Rodgers is. It's
been a lout there exactly. He's out there. He's he's

We know he's requested a trade the Niners. The reports
are that teams are are calling them and right now
they're like, look, we got no intention to trade him.
He's under contract for another year. They have potentially two
franchise tags on him or they can put on him.

So do you The only way this really becomes a thing,
in my opinion, is if Ayuk really wants to risk
sitting out the whole year. Do you think that that
is even a legitimate possibility him doing that?
Speaker 7 (24:57):
No. And the reason I say that is because it's
his tag it what is it? He's making what this year?
Fourteen point fourteen point one million this year, and then
they can tag him if he sits out the whole year.
He's not making fourteen point one million dollars. He's going
(25:20):
to be fined every single day until I believe, what
is a week seven, week eight? And then if he
doesn't show up, then that's that's a wrap for that.
Oh year, the year doesn't A million is done, Oh
fourteen gone and the year doesn't count.

Right, He's not even a closer to free agency.
Speaker 7 (25:38):
Right, there's no, absolutely, not even closer. He just puts
himself right back in the same situation and so it
may sound good and threatening now, but the reality of
the matter is once training camp starts and if you
even if when you hold out during training camp, it
now costs you money. Right now, it's not costing you anything.

Maybe they'll waive the missing the mini camp or whatever
that is. But if you start missing training camp, preseason
games and then into the season, now it costs you money.
So that fourteen million dollars you're looking at and turning
your head up at, and I get it. It's all
about negotiating and leverage. He doesn't have a lot of

On the other side, act Le'Veon Bell he was never

one's value on a team that's destined in the favorite
to go back to the Super Bowl, that's the best
thing you can do. You may not be happy with
the fourteen million you're gonna make, but to increase your value,
this is the best thing you can do. As a player.

to play, but actually not have an attitude problem, not
be a problem in the locker room with the coaches, whatever,
and play good football and contribute to the team being
the best at now.

This is a perfect situation because he's on the right
team for him to realize this. First of all, it
is difficult when you don't feel like you're paying what
your value is. When you're being paid what your value is,
it's difficult. But contracts or contracts for a reason. Case
in point about San Francisco being the right situation for

him to really maybe take a bird's eye, a ten
thousand foot view opposed to the one up close. Rock
Perty's making nine hundred grand next year. Okay, and in market,
we're quarterbacks with lesser numbers than him the last two seasons,

last twenty five and whatever that is are making fifty
forty five, forty eight million dollars a year. He's making
nine hundred thousand. So just to put perspective, the player
that you value the most on your team, which is

the quarterback as a receiver, that is your guy. He's
got to get you the ball. Someone who's increased his
value the last year and a half. And Brock thirty
is making thirteen point one million dollars less than him.

running backs. I'm in warm weather like I'm in a
great situation, and one hit next year could change my

talking about Kawhi Leonard. We know he's been removed from
Team USA due to injury. Basically, he's not one hundred percent.
His knee has bothered him, the knee that kept him
out of the NBA playoffs or at least all but
two last year, our last season. And here's the team president,

Lawrence Frank, disappointed that Kawhi is not playing.

We really disappointed for Kawhi and this is something we
really wanted for him. But with that being said, you
know now I think we have to move forward. We
support USAP, desperately want to see them win the gold medal.
I know that's how Kawi feels too well.

I have no problem with Lawrence being disappointed for Kawhi.
But there's another clip where he says, they are disappointed
that Kawhi was removed from the team right first of all,
and they said it was all on Team USA. They
have to say that because the USA Basketball rules are

for Team USA. So that's number one, it had to
be the team the USA, Team USA's decision, and otherwise
I'm gonna call hogwash on what Lawrence Frank is saying,

sure you would have been happy for Kawhi to play

an AJ Brown in that class. But you know, dude,
just just a great football player, can do so many
different things. He's obviously been felled by injuries the last
few years.

Even when he plays, he just hasn't been the same.

And so I think it might be fair to say
that Brandon Ayuk is their best receiver. I think Debo
when he's at his best, is still better, and he's
certainly more versatile. But I think last year Brandon Ayuk
was their man as a.

Now, yeah, right, he has requested a trade because in
this summer when so many wide receivers are getting paid,
he's not one of them.

Now, the Niners still have him under contract for one
more year and then at least the possibility of franchising
him for two years, so they don't have to do anything.
So with that being the case, I mean, how big
of a deal do you think it is that he's
requesting a trade.

I think it's not a big deal yet, it depends
on what's going to happen.

Mike Sholver a good friend of mine.

Actually, Mike Sholver reported that the contract they offered him
was twenty six million a year, which that's a lot
more than fourteen point one that he's about to make.
But I think, if I'm Deebo, I mean I'm sorry,
if I'm Brandon Ayuk, I want at least a number
that starts with three, maybe closer twenty nine and a
half when I'm looking at Justin Jefferson making thirty five

and aj Brown making thirty two, like those guys up
above him. The reason I say not yet because we've
seen this in the past with the forty nine ers
and some of their key players. Right George Kittle, he
didn't sign his extension until August thirteenth of twenty twenty
when he was up for a deal. Deebo Shamuel, you

just mentioned him, he didn't remember just two years ago
he requested a trade. He didn't sign his extension until
July thirty first, So I'd say I will officially go
into def con one. In terms of Brandon Ayuk and
his contract situation with the Niners, I say I give
it August first for me to really start to be

concerned about it.

I think demanding a trade seem.

To think they're going to offer him because the situations
you mis the Niners ended up ponying up.

But the forty nine ers have shown that they value
their core players and they just made Christian McCaffrey, the
highest paid, excuse me, the highest paid running back in
the NFL. If they view i Yuk as a guy
that they can keep, they'll get this done. If they
view him as a guy that is, that is, somebody
that they can easily find replacements for, they won't. And

it kind of leans like they may not they think
they'll be able to find replacements for him. Drafting Ricky
Person in the first round, paying Juwan Jennings all that money, right,
because the third wide receiver got paid like he had
a number two, right, And I think that debo for
as good as a football player he is, I don't
know about a pure wide receiver when you consider all

the things that go into what Deebo is asked to
do versus all the things that wide receivers are asked
to do. Deebo, those are two different jobs. Like you,
like we talked about how good he is, I've never
seen him take a handoff.

He's a pure receiver.

And that's kind of what Deebo had an issue with
initially when they wanted him to do so much running
with the football, right, is.

That he knew it could wear him down and water
him down.

As a receiver, and to be honest, Martin, it seems
like it's kind of done that. It really seems like
it's kind of done that. I think the difference here
is that the Niners know that a year from now
they're likely going to be paying Brock Purty some pretty

big money. And so can you afford to have a
debo a kill you already got of course, bosaon and
some defensive players McCaffrey. Now, I uke like all these guys,
and then you're gonna have Purty all these guys making
that much money. That is the question, and I think

that's what they're mulling over. That's why Ayuk's only been
offered twenty six.

Here's how it can become ugly because I'm not I
don't really feel like.

next year. They're in a very good space right now
because he's not making any money, and they also know
we've got control again, Ayuk is under contract, right, they

can franchise tag him for two more years?

Does it really suit Brandon Ayuk?

And he is great, don't get me wrong, But does
it really suit him to sit out a year? Or
I can't even imagine him sitting out the whole season.

I know he's been franchised, but he's not happy, but
he's He's said, look, I'm gonna play this year because

the best thing for T Higgins is to go out
there in ballste you want somebody to write. And so
everybody knows how good Ayuk is, So I'm not saying
like sitting out.

A season would totally ruin his value.

But we are at a time, Martin where there are
a ton of wide receivers out there that are good.

You mentioned they drafted Piersall.

How I mean, Jenny's now, he's not as good as Ayuk,
but he looked awfully good in the Super Bowl, you know,
and he's probably feeling like it. Maybe they're feeling like
he can play a little bigger role. Obviously, you still
have Kittle as a tight end, and then Deebo and
when you can draft these receivers and they're a great

one coming into the league seemingly every year. Are you
you know a guy that sits out a year? And again,
I don't think that'll happen.

I just don't know that a ton of teams are
gonna be ready to pay him big money.

Look at Buffalo.

move the ball. The safeties are just closing down on McCaffrey.

he does decide to hold out that long. But I

Le'Veon Bell? Where he since the entire year trying it

didn't benefit Le'Veon Bell. I mean, basically, his career was
never the same. I think a lot of that had
to do with Adam Gase being the guy that was
his next head coach, but ultimately he did lose the stuff.

is kind of what we talked about with Tua yesterday.
Sometimes you need to recognize when you're in a good situation,
and Le'Veon Bell was in a great situation in Pittsburgh.

They could pay him for at least two or three
years if he if he found his way to Detroit

out that Netflix show Receiver Grace. Some of the clips
from Davonte Adams, how angry he seemed on the sidelines.
It's like the obviously it's like watching the real world football, right,

you know what I'm saying, Or like it's it's a
reality TV show just about football players as oppose anything else.
So it's edited in a way that we don't get
to see all the other things, right, we just see
and the narrative that they were painting in the shows
that DeVante was upset, I mean, and to be honest,
his his comments to the media showed that he was
upset as well. But he looked so mad, and without

the context that we have of other receivers in that
same position, like you know, we get miked up and
all that stuff, but not a full on camera crew
just focusing on one guy all the time like it
was in receiver. For Devonte Adams, it was impossible to
think that he wanted to be there after watching that.

Yeah, so what do you make of it? I mean,
is that just frustration in the moment. And it might
be you know, if you saw a couple, a married
couple have an argument, you might think, oh my gosh,
they'll never work it out, you know what I mean,
the divorce is impending, and in reality things might be

fine the next day or the next day or two.
So I don't know, it could just be that situation.
But Aaron Rodgers shouldn't certainly isn't helping it. And look,
I'm not mad at Aaron Rodgers, I mean, a great player,
a former teammate. Sure he'd love to have him in
New York with the Jets, but at the end of
the day that this might just.

And I mean again, the agent's coming out and saying
it the way they have and and Martin, they don't
say that if it's if DeVante isn't like.

He's under contract for another year. They have potentially two
franchise tags on him or they can put on him.

So do you The only way this really becomes a thing,
in my opinion, is if Ayuk really wants to risk
sitting out the whole year. Do you think that that
is even a legitimate possibility him doing that?

No. And the reason I say that is because it's
his tag it what is it? He's making what this year?
Fourteen point fourteen point one million this year, and then
they can tag him if he sits out the whole year.
He's not making fourteen point one million dollars. He's going

to be fined every single day until I believe, what
is a week seven, week eight? And then if he
doesn't show up, then that's that's a wrap for that.
Oh year, the year doesn't A million is done, Oh
fourteen gone and the year doesn't count.

Right, He's not even a closer to free agency.

Right, there's no, absolutely, not even closer. He just puts
himself right back in the same situation and so it
may sound good and threatening now, but the reality of
the matter is once training camp starts and if you
even if when you hold out during training camp, it
now costs you money. Right now, it's not costing you anything.

Maybe they'll waive the missing the mini camp or whatever
that is. But if you start missing training camp, preseason
games and then into the season, now it costs you money.
So that fourteen million dollars you're looking at and turning
your head up at, and I get it. It's all
about negotiating and leverage. He doesn't have a lot of

leverage right now, so I wouldn't advise him as an
agent or who are a manager, whoever he's listening to,
to sit out half a year or an entire year,
because it never goes as well as you see it.
On the other side, act Le'Veon Bell he was never
the same career, ruined his whole career. And so increasing

one's value on a team that's destined in the favorite
to go back to the Super Bowl, that's the best
thing you can do. You may not be happy with
the fourteen million you're gonna make, but to increase your value,
this is the best thing you can do. As a player.

Let me ask you this Eve from quick Cut. I'm
with you completely, and I'm like, look, I've said, I
actually said that the best thing for him to do
is go out and ball if he wants somebody to
pay him that much money in the future.

How difficult is it?

Look, fourteen million dollars is nothing to sneeze at, But
how difficult is it for a player when yes, you're
making great money compared to most Americans, but you're looking
at other guys at your position that you feel you're
either better than or as good as, and they're making
twice as much as you. How tough is it for

a player to suck it up and not only return
to play, but actually not have an attitude problem, not
be a problem in the locker room with the coaches, whatever,
and play good football and contribute to the team being
the best at now.

This is a perfect situation because he's on the right
team for him to realize this. First of all, it
is difficult when you don't feel like you're paying what
your value is. When you're being paid what your value is,
it's difficult. But contracts or contracts for a reason. Case
in point about San Francisco being the right situation for

him to really maybe take a bird's eye, a ten
thousand foot view opposed to the one up close. Rock
Perty's making nine hundred grand next year. Okay, and in market,
we're quarterbacks with lesser numbers than him the last two seasons,

last twenty five and whatever that is are making fifty
forty five, forty eight million dollars a year. He's making
nine hundred thousand. So just to put perspective, the player
that you value the most on your team, which is

the quarterback as a receiver, that is your guy. He's
got to get you the ball. Someone who's increased his
value the last year and a half. And Brock thirty
is making thirteen point one million dollars less than him.
That's oncome, welcome to perspective.

You we're talking about, well, how you would advise auk
if you're an agent. What about Davonte Adams agents coming

They may be offering him around forty five, maybe between
forty five and fifty. I get that he can be
upset that that's not quite market value. But again, if
he looks in the mirror and says, okay, I've only

play caller as my head coach. I've got very good
running backs. I'm in warm weather like I'm in a
great situation, and one hit next year could change my
whole career. Why don't I go even though it's a
little less than I want. Maybe I should go ahead
and sign the long term deal for forty five forty

eight million a year, whatever it would be.

Do you think that's something he should really look at.

I do, And I'll tell you why if market value
for a quarterback is fifty million and they come in
at forty seven million a year, given your history of injury,

I'm at a place that I love, no state taxes,
I'm with an offensive minded head coach who loves me.

it worth it? Right? I agree with Hey, I think
more guys because the money is so large. Now now
you can start talking about NBA NFL money because the
money is so large.

talking about Kawhi Leonard. We know he's been removed from
Team USA due to injury. Basically, he's not one hundred percent.
His knee has bothered him, the knee that kept him
out of the NBA playoffs or at least all but
two last year, our last season. And here's the team president,

Lawrence Frank, disappointed that Kawhi is not playing.

We really disappointed for Kawhi and this is something we
really wanted for him. But with that being said, you
know now I think we have to move forward. We
support USAP, desperately want to see them win the gold medal.

But there's another clip where he says, they are disappointed
that Kawhi was removed from the team right first of all,
and they said it was all on Team USA. They
have to say that because the USA Basketball rules are

be the team the USA, Team USA's decision, and otherwise

sure you would have been happy for Kawhi to play
just because it's something he wanted.

Leonard clearly has a limit to how many games he
can play in a calendar year.

late in the year.

If he's either hurt early in the year and can't
play for the most part, or he does play through
most of the season but then gets hurt come playoff time,

then any playoff games they might earn. I think this

they would much rather have his six months be playing
for the Clippers than playing for Team USA.
