Speaker 2 (02:35):
That is funny.

Speaker 1 (02:36):
How was your how was your diplomatic moment last night
when you went with the diplomats and was snobbing with
the college elites.

Speaker 2 (02:43):
That's right, last night, I was at the Getty Museum.

Speaker 4 (02:46):
They had them new intrum president from Columbia University there.

Speaker 2 (02:52):
I got to catch some of her getting to know
you kind.

Speaker 1 (02:56):
Of deal, all right, to make sure you're paying attention.
You weren't there just for food. Give me three points,
ready to go.

Speaker 5 (03:02):
Uh.

Speaker 4 (03:03):
She went to she grew up in Alabama. She's a
college football fan. She's not a Yankee fan, she's an
Eagles fan. And uh, she did or anything. No, No,
it was about to get to know her thing. And
it was just, uh, it was. It was a good night.
And of course they had a great uh meal spread

(03:26):
reception afterwards. And guess who was first in line for
the reception.

Speaker 1 (03:32):
The person who was last to get there exactly exactly.

Speaker 4 (03:35):
I'm a sports writer, dude, free food. I don't want
it to be where it's already been picked over. I
got my choice of what I wanted to eat my booze.

Speaker 2 (03:44):
I was good. It was a great night. The only
bad part is I'm gonna say this.

Speaker 4 (03:49):
So the table I was standing at, you know, you
have tables standing around and whatever, and there were four
other people there and two.

Speaker 2 (03:55):
Of them were grads. Uh.

Speaker 4 (03:57):
And of course, you know, people ask you a lot
what year or whatever. So I'm like, yes, And here's
the problem.

Speaker 2 (04:06):
Both of them were like, we graduated in twenty twenty two.

Speaker 4 (04:09):
I was like twenty twenty two, man, and I'm like
nineteen eighty eight. Hello, nineteen eighty eight man. Yes, So
it's kind of weird that they were so young.

Speaker 2 (04:19):
But anyway, every now and again that happens even me too.

Speaker 1 (04:22):
I'm a little bit younger than you, but the same
thing where I'll just be like, you know what I mean,
because that's how we used to do it. Tonight we
I was born in ninety eight. I'm like ninety eight, righty,
that was peak high.

Speaker 2 (04:31):
School for you, boy. Unbelievable.

Speaker 4 (04:32):
All right, let's welcome in the yadd couple crew. We
wouldn't be able to do this fine radio program without him.
Rob g is our producer, Alex is our engineer. Isaac
Lohenkron is at the anchor's desk. He'll keep us updated
throughout the program. And of course Elijah is our social
media Gurusir. That's right, we are in full effect.

Speaker 2 (04:56):
That's right. But let's start here news with the Chicago Bed.

Speaker 4 (05:00):
We know how bad the team of struggling Caleb Williams
they fired the offensive coordinator. The Bears did just a
matter of time before the coach is going to be out,
as that's pretty obvious. But Rob, do you have some
scuttle butt from the talk show in Chicago?

Speaker 7 (05:18):
Yes, so you know the world famous show Wadal and
Sylvie esp for whatever, two of the most respected members
of the media in that area. So Sylvie put out
a tweet about an hour after the news broke that
Shane Waldron was being fired as the offensive coordinator.

Speaker 2 (05:35):
And in it he said two things.

Speaker 7 (05:37):
One that several Bears players went to iber Flus and
GM Ryan Poles and said, hey, it's not working with Waldron.
We got to move on, replace him, maybe not fire him,
do whatever you gotta do. He's not doing a good
job with the offense. But then he added there at
the end of his tweet, also, several Bears veterans believe
that Tyson Beagent should be starting at quarterback over Caleb Williams.

Speaker 2 (06:02):
Mm.

Speaker 1 (06:04):
Well for them to say Tyson Beijing, who sounds more
like a good law firm Beijing and Beijing, you know,
or a lottery detergent or something. I mean, that just
shows you how bad things are going right now. In
Chicago win again. Just maybe three four weeks ago, we
were all feeling like, all right, maybe this team might
be better than we thought. Maybe this team, you know,

(06:24):
can you mess around and contend to the NFC North
or at least at least make some noise in the
NFC and maybe be one of those teams sneaks into
a wild car.

Speaker 4 (06:32):
They lost, They lost a game that was devastating to them.
That uh, and that was the defense. That was the
defense giving up. If you remember, Caleb led them down
yep to the go ahead score and then remember like
that's how your season changes.

Speaker 1 (06:50):
They all of a sudden give up some points and
they didn't they didn't have a massive offensive outputting that pool.

Speaker 2 (06:57):
But the chance to win, well, he led them down.

Speaker 4 (07:00):
They were behind the whole game, and they actually took
the lead and then came the hail Mary, which was
just an awful play by the dam Yeah.

Speaker 1 (07:10):
I mean, you got guys, but obviously we know what
happened and you and little to your point, little things
like that can fracture already fragile team that's just trying
to hold it together. Right, You got defensive players talking
smack with the crowd during a play, not paying attention
on a Hail Mary, and it seems like their season
is gone. They need some hail Mary, some prayers right now.
Since then, but one of the things that you heard

(07:31):
about Caleb Williams in college, especially here being in local
scusc and us here being here in LA, was that,
as magnificent as he is, the one criticism this is
during his Heisman campaign and especially the next year, last
year twenty twenty three, was that maybe just maybe a
couple of things rob And this is where I feel

(07:52):
like it leads to the second point will be where
I think it leads to what you hear from some
of the veterans on this team. One is that he
holds the ball too long. He's been used to that
because he's been better than everybody in high school, better
than everybody in college. I can do this, I can
make these superman like plays. When you start to look
at some of his numbers now, it starts to resemble
that this is what he believes. He's thirty second in

(08:14):
completion percentage, fifty five point five percent yards per attempt
at this low, he's at four point nine. He's sacked
eighteen times, including nine just this past previous game, he's
tied for thirty first and passing touchdowns with zero rob
and thirtieth in total QBR at twenty one point two
during this losing street, specifically that he's been on this

(08:36):
losing streak. All these numbers are for that. So you
look at him holding the ball. You look at him
all of a sudden, holding the ball too much in college,
and this is what they're saying he does. He tries
to Oh, and you can get away with this in
college because you're just better than everybody, and those those
separations are much larger between your receiver and the defensive
backs in college because you're as senior playing some schools

(08:58):
that aren't that great with a bunch of guys who
are going off. Becomes sales insurance agents, not in the
NFL with pros who were good. The second half of
this is you remember hearing little weird things about like
he doesn't necessarily maybe not get along with the guys.
He's kind of a different guys. He's a little bit
aloof and he's kind of a different cat when it
comes to leadership ability. And to me that might scream

(09:21):
loud too. When you have veterans with a talented young
player who are already kind of ready to give up.
Sometimes talent just s ain't it where they'll go all right,
Look he's struggling right now, we're not winning, but you
know what we like to do. We believe in his leadership.
He'll be all right eventually. When you start getting guys
ready to do this already, Rob, we're not. We're what
a little over halfway through the season. To me, that

(09:41):
screams that there's something more than just getting sacked. There's
something more than offense not scoring. To me, this might
also scream something to leadership, something to locker room issues.

Speaker 4 (09:51):
Now I totally disagree. I think this is what teams do.
They panic. This is the third number one overall pick
that's had a coaching change in their first year. This
happens often because there's an adjustment that has to be made,
and you can't listen to just players a handful of
players in the locker room because it's not a popularity contest.

(10:15):
That's why you have a GM, that's why you have
a coach, that's why you have other people.

Speaker 2 (10:21):
It just can't be because you like somebody.

Speaker 4 (10:24):
Or if we all work with people that we don't
all like or feel like we have a connection or
a vibe with but it doesn't mean that they can't
do their job. And I think this is where people
get caught up in it. We talk about it all
the time. It's not just about feelings and whether or
not he's cool or I want to hang out with him,

(10:46):
or he talks to me or whatever it is. People
are all different, and if you're winning, none of that
ever comes up. Nobody would ever talk about those things
because it's only when you lose.

Speaker 2 (10:59):
That you could try to find a rhyme or reason why.
Uh and and and.

Speaker 4 (11:05):
I think that's what you have to be careful of
because losing brings out where people are ready to throw
the blame on somebody or try to figure out, Uh,
it's because he painted his nails in college, just because
you know, like all these other reasons other than maybe
a he's a rookie learning how to play in the NFL,

(11:26):
B toy have a terrible offensive line, senior offensive coordinators
not great.

Speaker 2 (11:31):
There's a lot of reasons. And I'm not.

Speaker 4 (11:34):
Exxolving him or saying he's not to blame or he
doesn't have to play better.

Speaker 2 (11:39):
But I saw some moments there.

Speaker 4 (11:42):
This is not a season long where he couldn't get
anything going. And that's what I what happened to that
three weeks ago? What would have happened if they won
that game against Washington on the road?

Speaker 5 (11:55):
Right?

Speaker 2 (11:55):
That like that would change your season, your perspective.

Speaker 4 (11:58):
I doubt you be hearing from veterans talk about, uh,
we need to make a change or put somebody else in.
I've seen this. I've been covering this leak since nineteen
eighty seven. You gotta be careful. It's not a popularity contest.
It's a talent driven business. If they tell you that
after eight nine games that he can't play, I tell

(12:22):
you that I don't buy into that.

Speaker 2 (12:24):
Can he play better? Absolutely do.

Speaker 4 (12:27):
I want to wait and see a little more before
I make a decision on where he is.

Speaker 2 (12:33):
Absolutely, But I think this is a rush to judgment.

Speaker 1 (12:37):
They're absolutely not gonna get rid of him. I mean,
they did too much to get somebody like him. They
gave up to get him in this position to get him,
and I think he's too talented, just pure ability, pure
raw talent. You've seen enough to know this guy, Because you.

Speaker 4 (12:50):
Say Daniel Jones, who I knew early on. I'm like,
I don't see anything here.

Speaker 2 (12:55):
He please help me.

Speaker 1 (12:57):
From the best prospect quote unquote since Andrew Luck to
now he's an issue. And again, this is the problem
when you have an organization that doesn't necessarily have an
identity and still trying to figure this thing out. They've
got some talent around him. You got DJ Moore, you
got some backs, they got some they brought in an
offensive coordinator specifically for him, which obviously didn't work out already.

(13:18):
So I don't know, maybe they had some issues because
it isn't as it's some long run thing where they've
had two or three years to figure this thing out.

Speaker 2 (13:24):
They haven't.

Speaker 1 (13:25):
But offense has been putrid over the last several this
losing streak that they're on, Uh, they have not looked
right at all.

Speaker 2 (13:31):
He's got sacked a crazy amount of times, and so
it's on the offense line as well, out and out.

Speaker 1 (13:38):
And again when you look at some of these numbers
of how long he's holding the ball, he's holding the
ball longer than any other quarterback. He did that, and
he's second in all of college last year. But again,
he got to get away with it because he was
just that good because the talent gaps between SC versus
some of the schools they play are that wide. When
you're in the Pros, it's a few plays here or

(13:59):
there that's separate rate you from the teams that you're
competing against. When you're in the Pros, it's a few
player or two. Maybe you have one or two more
talented players than you have, and that's really the difference.
So I think he is now adjusting to and going
to have to I'm in a bad situation offensive line wise.
I'm gonna have to also help them by trying to

(14:19):
be in rhythm, trying to be in sync, trying to
be a part of what we do when we design
these five star five step dropbacks, five seven step dropbacks,
being sync big on time. But absolutely, he is not
going anywhere, and these guys need to get over that.
He's the number one pick. He is the heraldic guy
that they were clamoring for. They got him. They just
got to figure out a way to make this thing work.

Speaker 2 (14:39):
All right.

Speaker 4 (14:40):
Eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox eight seven seven
nine nine six sixty three sixty nine. How much blame
does Caleb Williams deserve in the Tobacco in Chicago where
we are now.

Speaker 2 (14:50):
We'll continue that conversation next with you.

Speaker 4 (14:52):
It is the Odd Couple on the Trash Talking Tuesday,
Rob Parker, Kelvin Washington right here on Fox Sports Radio stick.

Rob and I are having a conversation about the Lowly
Chicago Bears and.

Speaker 2 (15:49):
What is going on right now.

Speaker 1 (15:50):
One of fourteen on thirds downs just left this last
game against the Patriots. They look bad. Kayln Williams is disgruntled.
They've gotten rid of their offensive coordinator. Some rumblings or
some guys wanting to see somebody else play the position?
Eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox? Who's the blame in?
This is what we're talking about? What's your call?

Speaker 4 (16:08):
So we got all right, Cad and we know Nevada.
You're on the EYD couple of Fox Sportuado. What's up, Kate?

Speaker 2 (16:14):
What's up? Okay?

Speaker 5 (16:15):
How are we doing?

Speaker 8 (16:16):
Thanks for taking my call?

Speaker 6 (16:17):
Yes, sir, So I'd.

Speaker 9 (16:19):
Like to incorporate my trash talking Tuesday into this conversation
about Caleb when we go ahead and trash Nick right
really quick for saying that they were going to win
the Super Bowl with a rookie quarterback.

Speaker 4 (16:29):
Right right, which is just outrageous, like like real like
that one. And then the other one was the the
Houston Texans, We're going to the super Bowl.

Speaker 2 (16:38):
I could go on and on and on, like just
premas ain't as crazy as the Bears. No, that was
crazy too. That's premature, premature, And.

Speaker 9 (16:47):
As a Packers fan, I love to see him fail.

Speaker 5 (16:49):
But this is an organizational thing. Top to bottom.

Speaker 9 (16:53):
The problem with being the number one, you usually go
to a dumpster fire organization.

Speaker 6 (16:57):
Yes, look at it.

Speaker 9 (16:59):
Look look at like Sam Darnold, look at Bryce Young.
These guys were destined to fail from the jump because
you're going to an organization that doesn't know how to win.
That's where quarterbacks go to die.

Speaker 4 (17:09):
And you know what, kay, let me say this for
all that we can talk about Joe Burrow and what
he was able to do going to Cincinnati. They they
went to the playoffs. They just couldn't win a playoff game.
They were oh and seven in their previous seven playoff games.
It wasn't like they never made the playoffs, and he
took them over the top. But I'm with you, some
of these other teams are bad.

Speaker 2 (17:30):
They're just bad.

Speaker 1 (17:31):
Young being the greatest the Panthers A is just a
bad situation.

Speaker 4 (17:34):
Now, thanks for the call. Appreciate you call Robert Robert
in South Carolina. You're on the odd couple of Fox
Sports Radio.

Speaker 2 (17:40):
What's up?

Speaker 8 (17:42):
What's up?

Speaker 3 (17:42):
Brow doing good?

Speaker 2 (17:44):
Appreciate you call Buddy, Hey, look at it?

Speaker 8 (17:46):
Sixty forty sixty klib fault forty there fault. I didn't
see anybody giving Justin Field, his grace. It was just
Justin Fields is terrible. Justin Field is terrible.

Speaker 7 (17:55):
Man.

Speaker 5 (17:56):
But wait a minute.

Speaker 2 (17:56):
How many years was he there? Though? Come on, now,
this is just the fields. Was there for three years?

Speaker 4 (18:05):
Three years compared to the nine games?

Speaker 2 (18:08):
I mean, come on to uh to his point?

Speaker 8 (18:11):
Go ahead, Justin is the real book is going to
be written on Justin on his opportunity after the bas
not with the Bears.

Speaker 2 (18:22):
Okay, he had an opportunity with the Steelers.

Speaker 8 (18:27):
No, he really didn't have an opportunity. He played sick.

Speaker 4 (18:29):
They were four and two. What are you talking about?
Go back and read his comments? Go read his comments.
What do you say, Kelvin? He said, if I played better? No,
he said if he.

Speaker 8 (18:41):
They were four and two and made a quarterback change,
which tells you that the job wasn't really his.

Speaker 4 (18:45):
No, thanks for the call. Appreciate what what?

Speaker 2 (18:48):
What did he say?

Speaker 5 (18:49):
I mean?

Speaker 2 (18:49):
Kevin said I played better? Then he thought he thought
that they.

Speaker 1 (18:53):
Would be said, if I played better, we wouldn't have
a situation. But I think I think what he what
he's referring to? And what what kind of conversations you
and I had were that once they brought in Russell
Wilson and then they brought in Justin Fields. They are
always going to give him a shot. I didn't think
they necessarily needed to. That was my whole take was that,
and I get that.

Speaker 4 (19:13):
But if you play so well, you make it where
they can't replace you.

Speaker 2 (19:18):
He just didn't. He played okay.

Speaker 1 (19:21):
What I still agree with my man that Justin Fields
is going to have a nice career elsewhere when I'm
not vin Steelers, whether.

Speaker 2 (19:27):
It's the Steelers, whether it's somewhere else.

Speaker 4 (19:29):
Until he throws the ball, until he throws the ball better,
I don't.

Speaker 1 (19:32):
But we had that same conversation about Lamar Jackson. Until
he throws the ball.

Speaker 4 (19:36):
Lamar Jackson won a MVP within his first three years.

Speaker 1 (19:41):
Organization that I'm not saying they're the same talent of
what I'm saying is Lamar Jackson had an organization that
wholeheartedly believed in him, gave him the keys, and then
Justin Fields had one that for six games was building
on something looking solid, went four and two and they chose.

Speaker 2 (19:56):
To move on. That was their right.

Speaker 4 (19:57):
I just don't think the Fields is gonna be fine.
I think he's got to get better. Throwing the foot
for sure. I'm not disagreed with that until he does that.
It's just different. And you've seen Lamar improve on throwing
the football. You gotta be able to throw the football
to Kevin in Culver City. You're on they couple of
Fox Sports Radio. What's up, Kevin?

Speaker 6 (20:17):
God is good all the time, dedicated Williams have a stretcher.
Then he have three great games in rows, one of
the top quarterbacks in the league, and everybody was saying
how great he was and how the Bears were playing
great football with coking Man. Look, it's a rookie season.
You gotta relax. They gotta get a left tackle in there. Yes,

(20:38):
Rob Party has Trent Williams, Lamar Jackson has Ronnie Stanley
in the draft. Taking lineman, lineman, lineman, enough skilled guys,
defensive guys.

Speaker 5 (20:46):
That's covered.

Speaker 6 (20:47):
They're gonna hire your boy. I hate to tell you Kevin,
Ben Johnson from the line or Bobby folback, but you
had coach to work with the quarterback. You gotta get
an offensive coach with a young quarterback, just like the
Dolphins did with two a time to Low and Mike McDaniel.
It works that way. That's what works, you know, Andy
Reid and Patrick Mahoons. So they'll get their offensive guru.

(21:07):
But don't get on Cada Booms. He's a rookie. He's
gonna struggle, but he's played great. He's should size the
greatness this season looking like a young Steve Young and
Andrew Locket.

Speaker 2 (21:16):
And I'll tell you this, keV. I'll tell you this, keV.

Speaker 4 (21:19):
Really, that loss in Washington flipped the table on there.

Speaker 2 (21:24):
That was a huge loss as far res because it
can't go that far down. No, that's two weeks ago.
That's two weeks ago. My point is that you would
look at a little different.

Speaker 4 (21:36):
He struggled in that game, but he had the winning
drive to give them the lead with a minute to
go or whatever. Is what I'm saying. And how you
look at somebody because they win. Winning is the thing
that people look at the same way that they look
at the same way that they don't look at Mahomes'
season and his numbers and stats because they win.

Speaker 2 (21:57):
That's all I'm saying, Calvin.

Speaker 1 (21:59):
No, No, I get to win, absolutely, but I'm saying
there they've been so bad that you can't look at
this and go something is wrong.

Speaker 2 (22:05):
Right, they're just not losing. Where's all right?

Speaker 1 (22:07):
They lost a good game, their competitive, They've got a
rookie guy in his rookie year. Something's off for sure
when you look at this team and the numbers that
they're not producing and they're going negatively, So I think
something's off with them for sure.

Speaker 2 (22:19):
All right, we have Ether Salaam getting ready to join us.

Speaker 1 (22:22):
Looking forward to that continue some more football conversations.

Speaker 1 (22:36):
Coming to your line from the Tirack dot com studios
is the couple in a trash talking Tuesday Robin I
and getting ready to be joined now by Ephram Salaam,
former NFL offensive line and Fox Sports Radio Weekends.

Speaker 2 (22:48):
Salam on Twitter. Hit them up? What's up E?

Speaker 5 (22:51):
What's having? Brothers? Y'all doing doing good?

Speaker 6 (22:54):
Man?

Speaker 1 (22:54):
We're talking about uh Kayleb Williams in the massive aggression
not only with him, but this team and how you
had some hope earlier yours sitting it foreign too. You're thinking,
all right, maybe they're going to have a nice rookie campaign,
and it's not been the case. You have some at
least reports that some of the veterans are saying they
want to see the backup come in. He has been
holding on to the ball so long. You see the numbers,

(23:16):
what have you been seeing? And speak to that from
an offensive line standpoint, When a guy is holding the
ball or when things are in sync, what do you see.

Speaker 5 (23:28):
You just see a lack of confidence. And as an
offensive lineman and as anybody on the team, you want
to have all the trust in everybody in that huddle,
and when you don't have it, it creates dissension, right
because the one thing we do as players after every
game win and lose, we go and we sit and

(23:50):
watch film and so you can see it like you
see it better than you can see it on the
TV copy because we have the sideline, we have the
end zone copy, and it gives you a look at
the play. So when a quarterback is missing something right,
if you can see the receiver open, if you can

(24:12):
see the timing off that the one is glaring, and
if you do that multiple weeks, then it becomes a
situation where guys begin to lose that trust because you're
dealing with the same things, find the correct the same
mistake over and over again. Eventually you get tired of it.

Speaker 4 (24:32):
I want to go here with the Chargers six and three.
Their defense is only allowed one hundred and eighteen points,
but I'm going to call them for gayzy. All six
wins against teams under five hundred Have they really shown
you anything?

Speaker 2 (24:50):
Or is this this.

Speaker 4 (24:51):
Team and their record of six and three made up
of schedule more so than anything.

Speaker 3 (24:59):
No.

Speaker 5 (25:00):
I mean, we know who Jim Harball is. We know
what his formula is. It's been that way since he's
been coaching, right. We saw him win the national championship
in Michigan with it.

Speaker 4 (25:11):
We've also sent him struggle a long time at Michigan
where they cut his pay.

Speaker 5 (25:15):
Well, yeah, but you got to remember the pandemic happened.
They played like seven games and somebody, and in terms
of struggling, it was just he couldn't beat Ohio State.

Speaker 2 (25:24):
The reality well that's what he got hired for, right.

Speaker 5 (25:28):
Right, But you know, we we have to we have
to take our you know, our fan allegiance had off
because the people they were mad because he couldn't be
the Ohigo State, just like they're mad at Ohio State's
coach day because he can't beat Michigan, right, no matter
how I mean, he's one of the most the winning
his coaches in college, but you can't beat your rival,

(25:51):
so it kind of skews people's perception of you, right.
But hardball, what we know he's going to do is
he's going to have a run game. Know that he's
going to play excellent defense, and he's not going to
overload his quarterback. The difference is he now has a
quarterback that can make every throw. So if you do

(26:12):
come down in the fourth quarter in the close game
and you got to drive the length of the field,
you really have a quarterback that can do it. He
can make every throw. He started his career all passing
for more yards than anybody in NFL history in the
amount of time he's been in the league. Now it's
not all on his shoulders, and so it's to me,

(26:34):
it's not for gays. He's not a fluke. It's his
formula and he has the talent to fulfill that that formula.

Speaker 4 (26:43):
Yeah, I believe it when I see the next four
games and how they come out of Cincinnati Baltimore Atlanta
and Kansas City. That'll determine where they are to meet,
because that's going on exactly right.

Speaker 1 (26:57):
Hey, Apram Salim joining us right now, the ACABA, Rob
Parker kelvin Washington. From some teams that people had high
hopes on going into the season, our underperforming mostly And
then one I'm going to bring up is because of injuries.
When you're looking at the forty nine ers for the
most part, some issues there. Looking at this team right now,
where do you make out for them? The rest of
the NFC? The NFC not clearly is not as deep

(27:18):
as the AFC. Do you think they got a chance
to get back to where people had them, where they
were last year and where they had the expectations of
this season?

Speaker 5 (27:25):
Well, I do think the nine Ers have the team,
have the coaching, have no organization that can continue to
go to the playoffs, can make the playoffs this year?
Will it be the number one seed? Probably not. I
know their road is a lot harder than Arizona's role
to win that division, but it's there. It's possible they

(27:45):
play Arizona in Week seventeen, it'll probably be for all
the marbles. So if you were to say to me,
if it comes down to it, would you take Shanahan,
Purty Kittle and Christian McCaffrey for one game to win
the division against anybody in that division? Who would you pick?

(28:10):
And I would definitely pick the San Francisco forty nine
ers in that case.

Speaker 2 (28:14):
Let me ask you about what's happened to.

Speaker 4 (28:17):
The Houston Texans, And we saw them lines come back
and win that game yet five interceptions. But the thing,
the bigger story to me is the second half for
the Texans this year. They've only scored They haven't scored
a touchdown in the last four games in the second half,
and only seven touchdowns overall in the second half all year.

(28:42):
So there are no adjustments or something's happening in the
second half.

Speaker 2 (28:46):
What are you seeing with that team and what's the issue?

Speaker 5 (28:50):
Yeah, that was perplexing just watching how dominant they were
that first half, right and then coming out the second half.
I think Number one offensive line play is bad. It's
it's really bad. Uh C J. Stroud is under duress.
But the pre snap penalties, the penalty, the undisciplined nature,

(29:14):
which is or not? It is? It is? Which is?
And it's unlike Demico Ryans I know Dimico. I knew
him as a player, I know him as a coach.
But it's it's a it's an attention to details. Sometimes,
you know, teams who have early success, young teams can
start to fill themselves and they start losing focus of

(29:35):
the things that really matter. That the attension to detail.

Speaker 2 (29:39):
Some people have to the Super Bowl this year.

Speaker 5 (29:42):
Well yeah, I mean they were poised to do it.
They look like they had everything with the acquisitions of
the key players that they had on offense and on
the defensive side of the ball. That they've been hit
with an injury bug lost a bunch of receivers. Uh
the injuries uh us mixed for a little bit. So

(30:02):
they've been Ye, they've been trying to weather the storm
a little bit. But it's they can't have a good
play and then they be called back for holding. They can't,
you know, have a good play and to be called
back for illegal formation, like those are the little things
that if they clean up. And another thing I noticed

(30:25):
is they were really trying to pound the rock against
the Detroit Allions, who have one of the best run
defenses in the National Football League, so that running on
first and second down sometimes you have to abandon that.
Sometimes you have to rely on your young quarterback to
be able to drop back on first down and you know,

(30:48):
five step dropping to deliver the ball over the middle
of the field, just to take some of that pressure off.
Always being inferred and long.

Speaker 1 (30:56):
Yeah, especially when you're going up against the Lion's team.
When you knew the offense was get rolling that something well,
you knew it even.

Speaker 5 (31:02):
After five picks. You knew something was gonna give yep Hi.

Speaker 2 (31:06):
We appreciate you man as always.

Speaker 5 (31:08):
Absolutely brothers.

Speaker 1 (31:09):
All right, Salam, thank you so much for joining us

All right, Alex, Rob, g.

Speaker 4 (32:36):
Calvin, listen carefully because the comeback has started.

Speaker 2 (32:41):
You know two and one last night? Are you ready?

Speaker 4 (32:44):
I am now up to fifty six sixty one and two,
so I'm almost there, getting back to five hundred.

Speaker 2 (32:51):
Do you remember how bad and down I was?

Speaker 4 (32:53):
Yeah, so fifty six sixty one and two I need
baby on I do and a cigarette.

Speaker 2 (33:01):
But I was two and one last night.

Speaker 4 (33:02):
Here we go, because you remember I got that Dolphins
plus two and a half last night.

Speaker 2 (33:06):
They will talk about this. That was good.

Speaker 4 (33:09):
That was a big win for them on the road,
taking on the grounds. Whenever we go tonight, let's go.
I got the Milwaukee Bucks. I know they've been bad.
They need another win, so I'm gonna go with the Bucks.
They're at home, Bucks minus eight and a half.

Speaker 2 (33:28):
They definitely need a win.

Speaker 6 (33:31):
Here.

Speaker 4 (33:31):
They're taking on Toronto, and I saw Toronto play, so
Bucks minus eight and a half is the best bet.
I got the Suns minus five and a half. They
were in Utah taking on the Jazz two and seven.
So the Sons minus five and a half. And then
the big marquee game to night, Golden State and Dallas.

Speaker 2 (33:48):
I'm gonna go with the.

Speaker 4 (33:49):
Upset Dallas Wow plus two and a half for the
return of Clay Thompson to San Francisco and Golden State.

Speaker 2 (33:59):
That's right, Dallas plus two and a half.

Speaker 4 (34:02):
The Sun's minus five and a half and the Bucks
minus eight and a half. And remember, Kelvin, what's that
I'm not telling you who the bet On. I'm telling
you who I bet.

Speaker 1 (34:10):
I was Now Rob Parker, I'm gonna need that same
enthusiasm and that same grace and that same I'm making
a comeback when the Lakers or when some other teams
are maybe below five hundred or they're trying to find
their way back or cling that way, I need that
same grace from you, excitement, look at you all on

(34:31):
my way back, Baby, I need that from you.

Speaker 4 (34:33):
I'm not buying it to that. I'm sorry, all right.
On the team. That's why I don't know whether he's
not on my team.

Speaker 2 (34:40):
You know, I don't know.

Speaker 1 (34:41):
I don't know what they're doing with that he on
the team, off the team halftime, that is, I.

Speaker 2 (34:44):
Don't know if it's what is going on. It makes
that sense, It doesn't make sense.

Speaker 1 (34:48):
And again this is you know, just you know, I
was okay with the whole photo wopping all that, But again,
after our conversation we talked about it last week, I
kind of laughed because you.

Speaker 2 (34:58):
Forget about it because he's not there to not playing.

Speaker 1 (35:00):
And then during the game they happened to kind of
pan down to the end of the bench and I'm like,
what is bro, I'm like he's there, like what, what
in the world is going on? So this is gonna
be an interesting thing. But he got ended up getting
in the game. And I will be honest with you,
I was actually shocked how many people were like stealing
one and standing up and like, uh, anytime he touched

(35:21):
the ball. I have somebody who get who supported the
whole photo wop of the father son situation. I thought
people would be much more over it, like all right,
Ko's on the team, whatever, move on. I gotta admit
I didn't expect it to still be kind of a
ooh oh ah thing and every single time he gets
in the game, and we already talked about it too,
folks playing seven hundred fifty dollars to go to a

(35:43):
you know, a South Bay game. So I was actually
kind of even surprised by that, Like, oh, people really
believe that.

Speaker 2 (35:49):
Yeah, that's crazy. Yeah I was crazy. Yeah, I was
shocked about it too.

Speaker 1 (35:54):
There's a couple of NBA conversations that we don't have
quite too much time to get into right now, so
we can kind of say it in just a little
bit here. But there's some some things happening around the association.
I definitely want to get into some surprising teams right now.
Some teams aren't looking as good right now as well.

Speaker 2 (36:11):
Well, the Bucks are the big story. I mean that's
that the Bucks are off. They're bad.

Speaker 5 (36:15):
Uh.

Speaker 4 (36:16):
People thought Dame Dolla was gonna be the difference that
was gonna uh Cement. Gianni's there and he was gonna
finally win his first championship and be uh you know,
uh Cemented solidified as a great player. Right going with
the team up with Giannis to win a championship. It's
been a bus it has been. It's been horrible too,

(36:37):
Like they don't look good. Last year they weren't good,
so people are like, Okay, well maybe they need another
year to get it figured out.

Speaker 2 (36:43):
They're worse this year. They are worse this year.

Speaker 1 (36:46):
And I think Giannis is uh, he's starting to you know,
he started unraveled a little bit because he wants to win, rightfully,
so he wants he's he had, he's had that taste
before that success.

Speaker 2 (36:55):
I'll tell you won feel fortunate, dude, No.

Speaker 1 (37:00):
No, no, you're right winning there, but kidding when in
Milwaukee winning now, okay, good luck.

Speaker 2 (37:05):
He wants the key, I know, but he and now,
it's hard to win.

Speaker 4 (37:08):
Ask Lebron twenty four years, four championships, twenty whatever, twenty
two years, Dude, it's hard to win.

Speaker 2 (37:16):
And he is certain. You know what I'm saying. You know,
you're right.

Speaker 1 (37:19):
He's starting to put a lot of pressure on the organization.
He's starting to put pressure on himself. He's starting to
become kna the gianas that was very likable and very
white people root it for him. He's starting to change
a little bit. You can because of the pressure. I'm
trying to win. I'm trying to win. I'm trying to win.
I'm trying to win. It's like, dude, you got one,
you got an organization that believes in you. You'll be fine.
You could probably get another one. Just relax a little bit.
We'll have some more NBA conversation here in just a bit,

(37:42):
including the NBA Cup is back. Rob is excited about it.
See if he is or not, we'll tell you about it.
