I can't be sitting out here neck without you. Just
have to say it in unison that's how we got
that one. That's actually me and Chris. That's so in
the record industry when making albums, that's called stacking.
Speaker 5 (01:40):
It was. It was just look at y'all stacking like
you're making an album.
Speaker 1 (01:43):
Imitate like he was imitating me saying my name, like
doing we're doing commercial or something or.
Speaker 6 (01:49):
How about on three you we want to try it.
That's okay, all right, this is our first bonding. This
is a trust moment. You don't fall backwards and see
if you can catch them. Think of the cadence of
Rob Parker. Now do that for Kelvin Washingington. All right, ready,
that's one, two, three, Kelvin Washington.
Speaker 5 (02:05):
Not bad. There we go. One take. There's one of them.
Speaker 6 (02:07):
All right, we'll keep it there, Sam, So like we
may come a more organic one. I don't want to
sound exactly like Rob Rob Parker. I mean that's original Parker. Yeah,
that's original. We'll come up with another one at some point,
but allright, hold that one just in case.
Speaker 5 (02:22):
Sam, how are you? We got a great show.
Speaker 1 (02:23):
We'll plan for us here, odd couple day number two
Rob Parker and Kelvin Washington.
Speaker 5 (02:30):
That's right from.
Speaker 1 (02:30):
Salam the former NFL offensive lineman. He joined us in
about twenty seven minutes. So we have ephrom Anthony Gargano,
Oh my god, you know from the Fellas from Philadelphia
and uh, he'll have plenty.
Speaker 5 (02:44):
To say about the Eagles. That's an our number two.
Speaker 1 (02:47):
And Ted Win, NFL staff writer from the Athletic he's
in our number three. But Kelvin, this is your first
time on a trash talking today. It is trash talking
is very simple. We give everybody thirty or forty seconds
to have their piece. We don't interrup we don't say anything,
(03:07):
we don't comment. It's their stage. They get to say
whatever they want. They can rip us if they want.
So trash Talking Tuesday. That happens in the second hour
of the program, sir, so you'll.
Speaker 6 (03:18):
Be ready for Oh yeah, I'm already ready for that.
And by the do you so? How hard is it
for you to not say anything when they're going at you?
Sometimes lit bleeding bit It's so hard.
Speaker 1 (03:25):
What I mean, Sometimes you're like I want to say something,
or this guy's got it all wrong or whatever.
Speaker 5 (03:31):
It may be.
Speaker 1 (03:33):
All right, let's welcome in the odd couple crew, because
you wouldn't be able to do this fine radio program
without them. Bo is in for Rob g as our producer,
right Iowa, Sam is in for Alex.
Speaker 5 (03:48):
I'm here for thirty minutes. Who's en route? And Sam's
and Dan is doing the updates?
Speaker 7 (03:56):
Now?
Speaker 5 (03:56):
Dan, are you working all night? Or what's the deal?
Speaker 1 (03:59):
There will be a Martin Weis's appearance coming up within
the hour here.
Speaker 5 (04:03):
At Fox Sports.
Speaker 7 (04:04):
What is?
Speaker 6 (04:04):
Me and Dan are in the same boat here, We're
just waiting for a replacements on a Twoday.
Speaker 5 (04:09):
I'm starting to feel is it your boy?
Speaker 7 (04:11):
Is it me is?
Speaker 6 (04:12):
They're like, well, Kevin, I want to come in if
Kelvin was in there, Yeah, it's a protest.
Speaker 5 (04:16):
Yes, I'm like Dan Bayer. I don't think Dan Barr's
ever did not an update on the TRUANC Tuesday, isn't it?
Speaker 8 (04:22):
No?
Speaker 5 (04:22):
That is true true. Dan Byer has been on the
couple more than a few times.
Speaker 6 (04:26):
In Calvin, you may not know this, but my hot
seat record was unblowing.
Speaker 5 (04:29):
That was three and ol.
Speaker 1 (04:31):
Well, you know what's crazy, Dan is the hot seat
is coming back with Calvin. Washington put it to bed
for a while for a couple of years because nobody
wanted to deal with it.
Speaker 5 (04:41):
But Dan was on the hot seat. I think I
might have been one of the last ones.
Speaker 6 (04:45):
Chris, Yeah, I called in and uh robbg Gi hit
me up some years back, a couple of years back.
Speaker 5 (04:50):
Yeah, I might have been like the last person.
Speaker 6 (04:52):
Maybe I retired that like I retired Martin and uh
and Alex, they don't want to come in today.
Speaker 1 (04:56):
Well, speaking of hot seat, can we talk about the
Philadelphia Show Eagles?
Speaker 5 (05:01):
I mean, what was that? Wahopa? Lucy?
Speaker 1 (05:05):
I mean, seriously, Calvin, that game should be in the bag.
The Atlanta Falcons, they choked down a game like that
at home to that team.
Speaker 6 (05:15):
Did you see the Falcons in Week one? Did they looked?
They looked awful, and all of a sudden, you wanted
to happen. You know how you go to the store
and you make sure you keep that receipt so you
can take it back. They wanted to get that receipt
and take Kirk Cousins back in that whole offense that
everybody had high hopes for. But I'm interested because to me, Rob,
everybody says a choke job, And I think sa Kwon
Barkley simply doesn't catch a catch a pass that he
(05:39):
had caught just a couple of quarters earlier for a touchdown,
same play, same you know, call you catch that, that's
a first down.
Speaker 5 (05:48):
Game over.
Speaker 6 (05:49):
So I'm not I'm not as big on everybody as
this is a choke job, as much as you make
that play. Sakwon Barkley, the guy we brought in, the
big name, the guy who's gonna be one of our betters.
Where the defense are you kidding at home against that team?
Speaker 5 (06:06):
No that I will, I will. Everybody's calling for a
knick Secy Cousins. I mean, what.
Speaker 1 (06:14):
Seriously, Galvin, you cannot if you're serious.
Speaker 5 (06:19):
And this is supposed to be the Eagle.
Speaker 1 (06:20):
They beat Green Bay in Week one after that terrible
finish the last year, and they put on a performance
like that.
Speaker 5 (06:28):
This reminded me.
Speaker 1 (06:29):
And I know there have been epic choke jobs in sports,
but the first thing I thought was, this is an
epic collapse. There's no way you should give that up
at home in that situation. And I get it, say, Kwan,
you got to catch that ball, But the defense, where's
the stop?
Speaker 6 (06:46):
It ends up being a multitude of things, which is
how you get a collapse. So I wanted to I
guess start with the call first, you know, was that
call the worst call? Everybody's calling for Nick Siriano. Everybody's
mad at the offensive play call. I wasn't as mad.
Speaker 5 (07:00):
Is that?
Speaker 7 (07:00):
Now?
Speaker 6 (07:00):
When you put it all together, you could question the
play call. Saquon doesn't make the catch, and you also
you don't do the touss push or the brotherly shove,
which is what has worked for you for now the
last two three seasons.
Speaker 5 (07:14):
That's another issue there.
Speaker 6 (07:15):
And then to the defense, and I've heard I've heard
some people question right now saying what were witnessing? You
saw it with the Rams in that fourth quarter in
the overtime against the Lions, where they just moved the
ball down there. They even didn't even think about passing,
just ran it, ran it rand at Montgomery, Montgomery down
the throat there, right. And so I think we're also
starting to see, Man, these players robbed. They ain't in shape,
(07:36):
they ain't ready.
Speaker 1 (07:37):
And a lot of them don't play any games, you
know what I mean, any meaningful games in training camp
or the preseason, and that is an issue. And now
these first couple of games, That's what I said, All
the passing numbers are down, like the offense is not.
Speaker 5 (07:54):
Terrible.
Speaker 6 (07:54):
Yeah, but I tell you who offensive line didn't look
terrible was the Falcons. They were able to give Kirk Cousins.
Did he become first cousin. He's a first cousin. Now
he went from a kissing cousin to a first cousin
and shut everybody up the way that he was able
to perform and bounce back. But that Eagles secondary. To
get back to your point, dude, you got to make
a play five path think he's five or six Kirk
(08:16):
Cousins's and these weren't rob These weren't a ceedee lamb
through a pass. He turns it up and now you
know it's a bunch of yards. This was just chunk
after chunk after ten yards, fifteen yards, twenty yards, fifteen yards.
This was chunk after chunk. And I think that's what's
disappointing when it comes to the Eagles. So I separated
the play call, not mad at it. Defensively, come on,
(08:37):
bro y'all got to stop them at least make it
hard on Kirk Cousins.
Speaker 5 (08:40):
And they didn't do that at all, especially the Falcons.
Speaker 1 (08:43):
You know, like like you looked at that game, they
were five and a half point favorites.
Speaker 5 (08:48):
The Eagles were at home.
Speaker 1 (08:49):
Because you looked at the way that they played Game one,
you go, well, they should beat did they should take
care of the Falcons easily. And I thought, of all
teams to chow against, they choke against the Falcons, who,
to me have one of the all time greatest choke
jobs in that Super Bowl. And you want to talk
(09:10):
about coaching decisions and mistakes and letting the Patriots come back,
if you remember what were they up twenty eight to three,
twenty eight to three, that's still crazy that when you
think about that, And of all the things I always
think about is Julio Jones makes a great catch on
third down to set up first and ten at the
(09:32):
twenty two. Now first and ten at the twenty two.
You're already in field goal range. Okay, you run the
ball three straight times, You let the play clock run
all the way down. You leave Tom Brady like no time, right, No,
they're passing the football in that situation. They get like
(09:53):
a holding ten yards, they get a sack. Why are
you passing the ball? They fall field goal range? Tom
Brady watch him down ties the game with a two
point converted and they losing overtime Like that was probably
the worst choke job I've ever seen in the NFL.
Speaker 5 (10:10):
I have one worse.
Speaker 6 (10:11):
It was less choking as far as the length of
the game, meaning that one was, hey, you're up twenty three,
twenty eight to three, we got a whole second half.
The only one I would question because this was an
immediate choke, meaning it's right here in your face, when
you had the chance to give the bat to Marshawn
Lynch and win the game. If you're the Seahawks versus
again the Patriots. I think that one because the game
(10:34):
was literally one.
Speaker 1 (10:35):
You know what I get your yours is, hey, that
was a terrible decision, But I don't look at that
as a choke.
Speaker 6 (10:42):
That's why I said the length of the gates being
up twenty eight three, I'll conceee you know what I mean,
Like like, that's a dumb play call.
Speaker 1 (10:49):
In that situation, you have the best running back in
the league, You're throwing the ball into a tight area
when you're down that close.
Speaker 6 (10:56):
And they give you the boy want you to score
so they can have a few seconds on the fact.
Speaker 5 (11:00):
The announcers, I can't remember who's doing the game.
Speaker 1 (11:03):
They said that that the Patriot should let him score
to get the ball right there, to get let them
to get the ball back, and instead they throw the
ball there and that close.
Speaker 5 (11:12):
When you do that, chip balls, things like that.
Speaker 1 (11:15):
Interceptions happen very frequently, so that's not what you want
to do. But I thought that Falcons choke job is
the biggest one that I can remember in the NFL,
and I know it was recent.
Speaker 5 (11:26):
But that's I'm not mad at that, not mad at
that answer.
Speaker 6 (11:30):
So their first cousins, Kirk first cousins, I called the
second cousins, but he looked like first cousins yesterday on
that drive. At least, did Kirk first Cousins exercise the
demons for the entire city of Atlanta, because, as you mentioned,
the choke job, Falcons up twenty eight three loose to
the Patriots.
Speaker 5 (11:49):
Did they did he do something there?
Speaker 6 (11:50):
Did he find a way to kind of get Atlanta
back feeling like we might have something here?
Speaker 1 (11:55):
That's a good question. I think it's on Philadelphia and
not as much Atlanta's. But we want to hear from
you eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox eight seven
seven nine nine six sixty three sixty nine.
Speaker 5 (12:09):
Was it a choke job? Kelvin is like Lukewarm on it.
Speaker 1 (12:13):
I'm all the way in choke job, all the way
and the greatest choke you ever saw on sports.
Speaker 5 (12:20):
I mean it was I think is the Falcons.
Speaker 1 (12:22):
The Falcons have coughed up more flemm than anybody in
the NFL.
Speaker 5 (12:27):
I don't know what else to say. Got the New
York Knicks looking like Lisa? Wasn't us my God?
Speaker 1 (12:32):
Eight seven, seven ninety nine On Fox, It is the

Speaker 5 (13:46):
That's coming up in the second hour.
Speaker 6 (13:48):
Oh yeah, oh yeah, I got you. Rob is saying,
epic choke job yesterday last night by the Eagles, And
the most epicust choke job of all time was the
Falcons and that Super Bowl, in that Super Bowl against
the Patriots.
Speaker 5 (14:04):
So that's what we're talking about.
Speaker 6 (14:05):
I overall say that there was a choke job, but
I don't think it was that epic. In fact, I'd
be more mad at the Baltimore Ravens the week, you know,
last week against the Raiders. The Raiders, to me, that
was worse in that you were up ten in the fourth.
You got Derek Can to be running well, you got
Lamar Jackson can run, run the clock. They stopped running
the ball. Derek Can really gets one. So this season
(14:27):
I think that Ravens win was a worse one when
it comes to me, let's take some calls here.
Speaker 1 (14:31):
All right, Douglas in upstate New York, you're on the
odd couple of Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 5 (14:35):
What's up, Douglas?
Speaker 4 (14:37):
Hey, Rob loved the show.
Speaker 9 (14:38):
You're one of my favorite personalities on radio TV.
Speaker 4 (14:42):
And why you know that?
Speaker 5 (14:44):
I appreciate that. Thank you, Douglas.
Speaker 10 (14:47):
No problem.
Speaker 9 (14:48):
That choke job in the super Bowl was the biggest
choke job ever. Me and my friends we had pooled
together some money. There was three or four of us
that put one thousand dollars on Patriots with the spread,
and we're sitting there and we were having the worst
time watching the game, watching the game. We were so mad,
(15:10):
and that once they started coming.
Speaker 2 (15:11):
Back, we were Now.
Speaker 9 (15:13):
We had one friend who had the falcons and he
had the money line. He bought his wife a purse
because he was gonna win so much money. He was
gonna win like seven hundred and fifty dollars.
Speaker 4 (15:24):
Wow, water a perse.
Speaker 9 (15:26):
I'm telling you, it was the greatest Super Bowl. I'll
never forget my friend's face when the Patriots came back
and it was won, and they won, you still got
the purse.
Speaker 1 (15:35):
I would have, hey, I would have taken that thing.
Thanks Douglas. Back to the store. I'm telling you, right
after the right after that collapse. Malik in Hartford, you're
on the EYD couple of Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 5 (15:45):
What's up, Malik?
Speaker 10 (15:47):
Hey, how you doing doing great? Long time listening, first
time Cauler.
Speaker 5 (15:51):
Appreciate it. Say hi to Calvin Kelvin.
Speaker 10 (15:55):
Welcome, Welcome Kelvin.
Speaker 5 (15:56):
What's up, Malik? Appreciated? Brother.
Speaker 10 (15:58):
Hey, now let's let's switch gears here and we're just
talking sports. The greatest choke job ever?
Speaker 5 (16:07):
Yes, Sports League Sports. Where are we going? Hold up?
Speaker 7 (16:11):
The four Yankees? Yes?
Speaker 1 (16:15):
Yeah, no, I mean they were up three to Oho
and they lost for Stow first time in baseball history.
Speaker 5 (16:20):
I mean, that is a classic choke job.
Speaker 10 (16:22):
And me being a rest So fan, it was the
best thing ever because after that we went on an
eight game winning streak, four against the Yankees, four against
the Cardinals.
Speaker 1 (16:32):
That was another one that's an all timer because it
had never been done in baseball before.
Speaker 6 (16:36):
Thanks the leak and and also the fact that you're
exercising the demons for the restaurans. Right, it wasn't just
like and it happened against you against the Yankees, so
that that absolutely could be up there if it's the
Falcons or that.
Speaker 5 (16:51):
One game and the Yankees for a series, no doubt.
Speaker 1 (16:53):
Scott in North Carolina, you're on the couple of Fox
Sports Radio.
Speaker 5 (16:57):
What's up, Scott?
Speaker 11 (17:00):
That's how you're doing what we're doing?
Speaker 5 (17:01):
Great? How are you? Thanks for checking out the new show.
My man appreciate you.
Speaker 11 (17:05):
Oh yeah, most definitely, most definitely. I mean I'm an
Eagle fan and I'm highly upset with our defense. You
let Kirk Cousins down the field look like Patrick McConn
right coming off of acl injury and score a game
winning toestdown. All right, that is I'm charging my defense.
I'm sadly to do it, but I'm trusting my defense, granted,
and hitch that ball. The game is over. Our defense
(17:28):
have to make a stop.
Speaker 7 (17:29):
You have to.
Speaker 1 (17:30):
You're at home against a subpar quarterback in offense. I'm sorry,
Like if you're if you're the Eagles and you know
you made the run to the Super Bowl two years
ago and last year was a disaster at the end,
and here's a chance to start the season two and
oher with two wins, right, the Packers and and then
the Falcons at home, and you come away with a
with a game like that that was awful.
Speaker 5 (17:52):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (17:53):
The bad thing about that loss too, thanks It Also
it gets your brain start to going, oh, shoot, is
this gonna be like last year?
Speaker 7 (18:00):
Right?
Speaker 6 (18:01):
Is this where we can't finish games? We start losing?
So that's also the bad part is the mental aspect
what it does to the team. Your coach feels even
more pressure now. Losing that game definitely hurts some in
that regard to not just as simple as the game,
but what it does to you mentally.
Speaker 5 (18:14):
No doubt.
Speaker 1 (18:15):
Andre in Massachusetts, you're on the odd couple of Fox
Sports Radio.
Speaker 5 (18:18):
What's up, Dray, how you doing?
Speaker 12 (18:21):
Thanks for taking the call, Listen. I didn't see last
night as a huge joke, choke job, excuse me. And
of course A Kwon should have caught that ball. But
the bottom line for me, the Atlanta Falcons have weapons. Okay,
they got London and the wide receivers, they got pitched,
they got b Johns.
Speaker 5 (18:36):
Did you watch most of the game though that nothing
was going on until.
Speaker 6 (18:40):
The end.
Speaker 12 (18:42):
Point taking Rob So it hasn't clipped yet and they
could be a team that sputters mid season and then
they have a quarterback controversy. But to see the Atlanta
Falcons function as you know, a team that you know
should be in the in the hunt, specifically in the NFC,
that wasn't shocking to me. So I didn't think it
was a huge choked. They just bottom line, you gotta
close a team out when you know you got to
(19:03):
deliver that knockout't do it.
Speaker 5 (19:06):
No, but Dre, let me let me.
Speaker 1 (19:07):
I don't know if you watch like any of the
pregame or whatever, I swear, not one person that I
saw pick the Falcons, right, not one like normally you
have a twinkling like it was all Eagles, Like every
board I saw, every analyst picked the Eagles, not the Falcons.
Speaker 6 (19:28):
Not one, which, by the way, I mean, we acting
we're acting like thank you appreciate, Dre. We're acting like
the Eagles were like they are all the world beaters,
Like all right, they're coming in from a bad season.
Speaker 5 (19:40):
But they did come back in.
Speaker 1 (19:41):
That game, right, they were down, and then name take
the lead and you say to yourself, okay, like this
is you don't have your best night.
Speaker 5 (19:48):
But this is what good teams do. They find a way.
Speaker 6 (19:52):
And then maybe they ain't a good team. Right, maybe
they ain't a good team. And I'm with Dre there
bad loss. I still don't think it was an epic
collapse lash. I'm bad loss, absolutely bad loss.
Speaker 5 (20:03):
Defense.
Speaker 6 (20:03):
I put a lot on them, put it obviously on
the hands of Saquan, but I don't think it's an
epic loss. I'm more inclined to be with Andre on that.
Speaker 1 (20:10):
All right, let's squeeze one more in Randy and New
Orleans d' on the odd couple of Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 5 (20:15):
What's up, Randy, Uncle Rob?
Speaker 11 (20:17):
How you doing man?
Speaker 5 (20:18):
We're good man. How are you?
Speaker 7 (20:20):
I'm going well?
Speaker 4 (20:21):
Good to hit from you, Calvin, welcome a board.
Speaker 5 (20:23):
Sir, appreciate you.
Speaker 7 (20:24):
Randy.
Speaker 5 (20:24):
How does the show sound down in New Orleans?
Speaker 7 (20:27):
Good?
Speaker 4 (20:28):
It sounds good from the two and no New Orleans Saints.
Speaker 7 (20:31):
I know it does good.
Speaker 5 (20:33):
I know it does.
Speaker 2 (20:35):
In the words of the late great Denny Green, they
let them off the hook. Yeah, they are who we
thought they were, right, epic collapse on the Eagles part.
We still got to sign up this, say, twenty eight
to three, just reminding the.
Speaker 4 (20:49):
Falcons of who they really are. Let me just say this.
Let me just say this, Nick SCHERRANI, you run the
ball on third down. If you don't get it, you
run it again on foot down, and you make Kirk
third Cousins go ninety yards, yes, seventy yards for field goal.
This is ABC. Let me say this, Uncle Rod, before
(21:10):
I get off the air. This is not big Fangil
from the forty nine ers. This is big Fangio from
the Miami Dolphins who had like the twenty fifth ranked
defense or something. It's over filmed. It's time to move on.
Speaker 5 (21:25):
Man, the league.
Speaker 4 (21:26):
Has passed you by.
Speaker 7 (21:28):
I'll tell you I appreciate the call.
Speaker 5 (21:29):
Man, Thank you, Randy, appreciate it. I'll tell you it
was ugly.
Speaker 1 (21:34):
And the people we're gonna hear from Anthony Gargano in Philadelphia,
you already know Anthony's gonna go crazy.
Speaker 5 (21:40):
And the reaction in Philadelphia. Brandy was acting like Kirk
didn't go He might not have went ninety yards.
Speaker 6 (21:45):
He went seventy you know, crazy, all right, our buddy,
he from Salam, former NFL offensive line in Fox Sports
Radio Weekends, he from Salam, joining us.
Speaker 5 (21:54):
Now we'll be blowing the whistle. That's what we're doing right.
Speaker 7 (21:57):
Back off from San Diego State. Many bore Aphram Salam.
Speaker 5 (22:04):
That sound clip is so old, it's in black and white.
What's up doing? Don't let him? Do you like that?
Speaker 7 (22:10):
What's happening? Man? Don't worry about me, man, don't don't
hide from my accomplishments. Man, That's just what it is.
Speaker 5 (22:18):
How are you?
Speaker 7 (22:19):
I'm good, brother. How y'all doing? Man?
Speaker 5 (22:20):
We're doing great. Hey.
Speaker 1 (22:22):
We were just talking about last night's Monday Night to
meet choke job?
Speaker 5 (22:27):
Where are you on that? I mean, we know the
Falcons got it done.
Speaker 1 (22:31):
We know Saquan should have caught the ball and Sirianni
should have been running the football at the end or whatever.
Speaker 5 (22:36):
But I thought that was a choke job by the Eagles.
Where are you?
Speaker 7 (22:40):
Well? Yeah, I look, First of all, it was a
great game. As a fan, I was thoroughly and entertained
with the level of execution and the long drives. As
an offensive lineman, I really was into the running the ball,
long drives. You look up in that fourth quarter, the
Eagles at the ball for nine minutes. I mean, that's
(23:02):
that's that's that's my style, That's what I love. And
so for me, I was entertained now in terms of
how it ended. The choke the choke job, you know,
essentially came from the defense. You can't you can't give up.
You know what was it seventy yards?
Speaker 1 (23:24):
Come on right from That's what I'm saying. That's a
choke job. You cannot do that in your building.
Speaker 7 (23:31):
Yeah, you like that that That's a tough thing to
reconcile with as a coach. When you're at home, you
have the clear advantage in terms of the atmosphere and
the elements, and then you give it all up at
the end of the game. Like that's that's gonna be
tough to come back from because it it hits a
(23:54):
little different, It hits a little different. Here's here's a
team that wasn't really expected to too much, although especially
based on last week. I mean, the Atlanta Falcons were
unwatchable last week, right, I Mean that was.
Speaker 1 (24:09):
The part that was so tough, is that they look
so awful, so people are like, Okay, the Eagles at home,
how do they not win this game?
Speaker 7 (24:17):
Yeah, but look, shout out to Kirk Cousins. I don't
think we should be giving we should be giving this
man his flowers because he showed up. And remember early
on in his career he had problems with primetime games,
which we understand it happens, bright lights. But I believe
he's won for the last five he's played on Monday
or Sunday night. So Kirk Cousins, now you see and understand.
(24:41):
You know why they were willing to pay him that
type of money if they felt they were a quarterback away.
Obviously they have the offensive weapons that you need. But
I mean, I'm just first of all, that's my team, right,
first team that drafted me. That opening thing you gave
me was me running out on the Super Bowl for
the Atlanta Falcons. So you know, I'm happy that we
(25:02):
got that win now one in one, So things you're
looking up for the Falcons now that the division itself
is looking up.
Speaker 6 (25:10):
Yeah, you're right about that. You got the Buccaneers looking
like something the Saints. Shout out to Randy who just
called a little bit ago with the Saints ephis salam
on what U s e from. I want to stay
with this game for just a little bit. So the
Eagles able to get a win Week one, everybody's feeling
like they're righting the ship all of a sudden, Okay,
and then they get this loss. But it's not just
a loss. It's the way that they lose, as we're
talking about right now. Whether you think it's a choke
(25:32):
job or not, Nick Sirianni, people are calling for his job.
They're calling for it last year. Now this happens. What's
going on in the locker room? Is this just a hiccup? Hey,
you know, Jalen Hurts is a great leader by all accounts.
It seems like he is. People buying to him, his
teams believes in him. Is he able to say this
was just a hiccup in the wrong a long season
or they're starting to be even concerns in that locker
(25:52):
room if you're there, if you're a veteran lineman on
that team.
Speaker 7 (25:56):
No, what happens is what they should be excited about,
was the fact that that Jalen Hurst played like the
Jalen Hursts we saw two years ago. Right break it
getting out of the pocket running down right. Yeah, Like
I was excited about seeing him being comfortable when receivers
were covered down field on when the pocket broke down,
(26:19):
him getting down the getting down the field using his legs.
That's what made him so dangerous. Uh, the year before
and even the first half of last year, and it
kind of just went away. Not sure if he was
injured or what it was, but having him be able
to just just extend drives, that's why they were holding
the ball so long. I mean, you want to talk
about it. You take nine minutes of the fourth quarter
(26:42):
and you go down and you get some points, Yeah,
you would think you win that game. So I don't
think it's time to panic because what they're seeing is
flashes of what made them so great. And say Kawan
Barkley brother man looks outside of him missing that play
that would steal the game for him, right the ball
off his fingers. Outside of that, they he got a
two headed monster in terms of running the ball with
(27:03):
Jalen and same psych proclety. Man. They're going to be dangerous, man, Seriously,
they are going to be dangerous. So I don't think
it's time to panic in the locker room at all
because you can see how they can control and take
over a game.
Speaker 1 (27:17):
No doubt about it. Bryce Young benched for Andy Dalton.
Instead of throwing in the white towel, they threw in
the red towel. Andy Dalton with the Panthers, that's what
they did. But Bryce Young, I mean from the Panthers
have a lot of issues. They don't protect them the
offensive line. There's a lot of issues there. But still
(27:38):
when you watch him, I know he's won everywhere in
high school and college and all that, he just doesn't
look that good to me. Is it really the surroundings
or has he Have you seen a glimmer of hope
that says this guy is going to be going to
rebound and be the top player who is drafted in
the draft.
Speaker 7 (27:58):
Honestly, I don't see a glimmer of and even if
there were a glimmer of hope, the fact that he
was picked first and CJ Trous' second dashes out that
glimmer of hope because I don't think throughout his career
he's going to be able to reach the level the
CJ has already reached it his first year. So when
you talk about a glimmer of hope, Like what type
(28:18):
of hope. Maybe you can win a couple of games,
but in terms of winning the division and winning a
playoff game, and like, I don't see that. I didn't
see it from him coming out of college. Look, when
you're in Alabama, you're surrounded by seventy five percent of
professional athletes, right, so it makes it a little bit easier.
Number one, I thought at five to nine, way too small.
(28:40):
I don't care what they have him listed at. It
looks like a small grown man.
Speaker 5 (28:45):
He was so small that Doug Fluti said he was
too small.
Speaker 7 (28:49):
It just didn't spit in terms of what we know
and what I know personally of what the National Football
League entails. And look, he's not as mobile as Kyler Murray,
so you can't compare him there. He's not gonna be
able to see. He's not extremely accurate with the passes.
It just to me seemed like a misstep, a miss
(29:12):
draft pick. And now they really have to deal with it.
But if they want to salvage this season, they have
to move on. They have to move on from him.
They have to.
Speaker 6 (29:21):
Yeah, we'll have to wait and see if there's some
type of redemption story for him. I told Rob yesterday,
I said, man, I tell you what he's got all us,
you know, vertically challenged brother. He set us back, Drew Brees,
Russell Wilson, they were all bringing us back up, and
even dog Flutie as you mentioned now, he then set
us back man down from thank you.
Speaker 7 (29:37):
Small man, he's short that he just he's small man
or something like that.
Speaker 6 (29:44):
What you're doing, Yeah, he can't be small Anthon e
from brother, We appreciate it. I got to mind out
some new shows I need to watch. I'm gonna text
you man, you always stay on in the.
Speaker 5 (29:51):
Note all right now, appreciate it.

Speaker 3 (32:18):
Welcome to Shekel City, the whole base for Rob Parker's
daily Dix against the Sprat.
Speaker 5 (32:29):
Del.
Speaker 1 (32:29):
When I have been rolling since we restarted Shackle City,
I was off to a great start, and now last
night I'm licking my wounds. Oho and three and of
course the Eagles did The Eagles did it to me
because they had it showed up.
Speaker 5 (32:44):
Now, why are you so mad at the Eagles? This? This,
this here, damn because I was ruling.
Speaker 1 (32:49):
It was five and a half and they were winning
by six. It was it was right there. It was
all set up. But all right here we go tonight.
We got all baseball I got and these things went
out earlier today. Of course, Elijah our social media guru,
so on ax or on on the Gram. I g
that's right on the gram. You could check out these picks.
(33:10):
I got the Twins plus one and a half. That's
my best bet. They're at the Guardians, Phillies minus one
and a half runs. They're at the Brewers and they
got the Royals minus one and a half runs.
Speaker 5 (33:22):
They are hosting the Tigers.
Speaker 1 (33:24):
So the Royals minus one and a half, Phillies minus
one and a half and the twins plus one and
a half. And remember, Calvin, I'm not telling you who
to bet on. I'm telling you who I bet on.
Speaker 5 (33:37):
Yes, there you go. Choke. That was a choking, my choking.
Hold up, Oh, here we go. I don't ever want
to hear that again. Rob, Well, here we go. Alex
is here. What's up, my man? That's great to be
right now. I know we were seeing Calvin behind the
scenes the whole time. Now he's like out in the open.
Speaker 6 (34:00):
Well, no, listen, first of all, you do your hugs
are great. I'll take a hug. I will take one
of those. And no, it's great to be here. Usually
you and I it's been weekends even bow shout out
to both. But now you know, sitting in the seat
Monday through Friday, by the way, after yesterday driving home,
I was saying to myself, that's a lot of Rob
Parker my life Monday through Friday, three hours, three.
Speaker 5 (34:21):
Hours, that's a lot I will see.
Speaker 6 (34:23):
Here's the bad part, Dan, I gotta look at Rob
Parker more than my children, like I'll see you more
than than my children. I kind of cried thinking about it,
that that's a bad thing. But you got three beautiful
little thank you. No, so I got to make sure, Yea,
I gotta figure out way to get some more time
with my daughters. I'm like, I'm gonna see Ron Parker
more in a week than that.
Speaker 7 (34:42):
Rob.
Speaker 6 (34:42):
You know, who's not gonna see something that's to Tacovaloa
is not going to see the football field now that
the Dolphins have placed him on IR to at least
Week eight, which would be minimally October twenty seventh against
the Arizona Cardinals, and who knows how good the Cardinals
will be by then.
Speaker 5 (34:58):
I'm cool with this. This is serious.
Speaker 1 (35:01):
With as many concussions as he's had, what three three
and three years, Yeah, that's a lot. Last year he
was able to stay healthy, didn't have a concussion. We
thought that that might have been Uh. He had overcome
that because last year was a big year for him
to show that he could stay healthy and not have
that and then to have one in uh in game two. Uh,
(35:21):
you know, just disappointing and scary. And I'm all for
safeguarding the player, making sure that he's going to be
alright and give him time to a recover and Kelvin
make a decision on where he's going to go in
the future, and hear from doctors and all these other people.
Speaker 6 (35:40):
What's gonna be interesting is how serious the NFL is,
how serious doctors are, and how serious Team TOUA is.
Speaker 5 (35:49):
And what I mean by that is.
Speaker 1 (35:51):
Don't count on the NFL because they want to add
another game they don't care about the healthcare is terrible
for the players, like the way I don't contract that.
Speaker 6 (36:00):
Thill Robbins to say, if at some point you're right,
But what I mean is at some point, I don't
mean this year, but at some point are they going
to start saying, we're gonna have to make this decision
for you player X fill in the blank who, Because
if you leave it up simply up to the player,
I've spent the last you know, as you have, I'm
sure seventy two however many hours now listening to ex players.
(36:21):
And one thing I've learned and been doing this for
a little while, rob as have you. No player have
I met ever said I wouldn't go back and be
back again. So if you leave it up to them,
they're going to listen to the risks they're gonna you know,
they're gonna take the risk because they're gonna think, because
this is why head injuries are so scary, rob the
same thing with mental health. I can't see it right,
(36:43):
So they're gonna say, I feel fine, I've waited the
eight weeks.
Speaker 5 (36:46):
Let me get back. That's why they have to take
the helmets from players.
Speaker 6 (36:49):
You know, yeah, because they let you back out right,
because if they don't have a helmet, they can't play.
Speaker 5 (36:55):
Those guys will put a helmet on them, want to
run back out there.
Speaker 6 (36:58):
And what's become scary for this is tools now become
the face of this. I mean not trying to be listen.
But first time we saw him throwing up gang signs,
Remember his hands were like that that that's an actual
medical term for where you're you can't control your hands
and your fingers. And he looks like you're throwing up
signs and like, oh my god, it's awful to see.
Then he gets another one. Now this one he's become.
(37:20):
Now the post remember is maybe Steve Young back in
the wild day for a while.
Speaker 5 (37:23):
I remember Steve Young concussions.
Speaker 6 (37:25):
It is TUA and that's something he's gonna have to
reflect on. But the thing about it is. It's not
even just the money that he'd be stepping away from.
I think part of it is legacy, Like this is
what I was made to do, right, this is what
I was Nobody.
Speaker 5 (37:37):
Nobody wants premature.
Speaker 1 (37:38):
He's a young gunny six Yeah, what a whole career
ahead of him. You know, you don't want to have
to bow out if you don't have to, But you
have to think about long term and your health. Without
your health, all the money, all the other stuff doesn't
mean anything. And you know what I mean, like like
it just really doesn't. That's why when Andrew Luck decided
(37:58):
to bow I can't be mad at him.
Speaker 6 (38:01):
Nope, I can't even beat up. It looks bad. It's
different than a knee. They can replace your knee later on.
We've seen so many former pro players walking around a
little beat up, a little hurt. This is your head,
and I wonder if I hope he uses his head
as well as his heart to take the time to assess.
And at the end of the day, I'll say this
(38:21):
my last point, Rock, I'm gonna be okay whatever he decides,
as long as he thought longer Hardness said, I'm gonna
live with the consequences right, because I can't tell him
what to do, Kelvin Washington.
Speaker 5 (38:30):
You can't.
Speaker 6 (38:31):
He has to live with the consequences, whatever they may be,
if he chooses to get back out there. But it's
been looking bad when you become the poster child for something.
Speaker 1 (38:38):
The NFL is loaded, have a proporie of oh in
two teams. We want to talk about that. Coming up next.
Who's gonna rebound and who's not gonna make the playoffs,
So we'll talk about that. Plus Anthony Gargano from Philadelphia
gonna give us some insight on what's going on down there,
So we'll do that and much more. It is the
(38:59):
Oddcme Apple, Rob Parker, Kelvin Washington right here on Fox
Sports Radio, Stick and Stay America.
