Texas thirteen, Miami twelve. We're gonna keep unveiling at the
show goes on. But one of the big stories coming
into this unveiling here was what's gonna happen we all
missed with about yesterday? Lane Kiffin is gone. He's dipped
out to LSU, even though he said that he wanted
to coach in the playoffs and finish this thing through.

They said, no, hell no, we don't want you around here.
But once that was announced, there was speculation, well, hey,
we saw what happened to Florida State a few years back,
their quarterback. I heard at the end of the season
they were undefeated and they got left out of the
playoffs entirely. That was that was so bad because the
committee said, the take your boy out. So they said,

the team that you are with him is different than
the team you are without him, So you're not the
top four team. So they said, hey, if lane Kiffin
is gone, are we sure that ole Miss is still
you know, top six, top seven, whatever it is. We
know they'll be in the top twelve, we just don't
know where. So today Lane Kiffin graciously apparently put out

a statement saying, hey, Charlie Weiss, junior, my offensive coordinators
come with me to LSU.

But I'm gonna do y'all solid.

I'm gonna let him coach all Miss throughout the playoff
so that in hopes that ole Miss will stay properly ranked.
They won't suffer, They won't face any kind of consequences
for him leaving.

but you're letting a guy who's the offensive coordinator stick around.

Why not say, okay, take your suitcase and your packages
and your bags and a head with Lane because that's
where you're going anyway, and you're not going to be here.
So if that's the case, then why not just through
the whole kitten kaboodle rather than them doing what they're doing.
It's kind of weird to me because if all his
coaches are are the people who are leaving, they should
probably all leave with them.

for three years or whatever. That's why we brought up
Walter Auston, the longtime Dodger manager who signed twenty four
one year cot.

up until the last four or five years. Remember, we

scholarship to go play football at Old Miss, we.

Most people didn't know that until they kind of got
exposed over the last you know, five, six, seven, no
full ride and they can pull the plug whenever they want,
so a lot of that slowly changed. But yeah, it
was historically when you heard somebody got a scholarship, you thought,

uh Dan gamble and just I get it. He made
his name by going forward and not kicking the field goals.
It's it's like like at some point you become a

Both of you guys know that, and just it hadn't
been in a good place, and you know, it took
a biten a kneecaps guy. It took a you know,

But when they missed out on going to the super

Bowl because he decided two years ago that he didn't
want to take the points and they lose that game
but to San Francisco by three points, and then the
next year come and double down on that same behavior.
And now this year we're seeing them not getting the
outcomes that they normally would when they make decisions like that.
A certain point no matter, if you can't get past

a certain point, then maybe it's time for a new voice.
Those type of decisions will get you fired. I know
how crazy and weird that is to say about, you know,
someone who's changed the organization. But it's too much, brother, like,
I can't believe he's doing that.

Listen, you know I watched those in agony because again
they worked too hard to get down there, to not
get points, to take it three or or the opposite,
to not punt it and they put the other team

Look, I love Mike Tomlin. I think he's been a
tremendous force in this league. I also understand that I'm
a realist. The one thing I do know is the
Pittsburgh Steelers have never fired a head coach. They've only
had three fifty four years. Mike Tomlin is the third.

So for us, no matter how we feel about Mike
Tumblin and what we think should be done, they don't
put the rooms from it. They are going. They look
they have set a precedent and a standard and as
long as he's not been under fire, he's made the playoffs.
They haven't won a playoff game. Say, for whatever reason,

they win the last you know, three out of the
last for five games or whatever, and they end up
winning that division because that division is clearly up in
the air, nobody wants it. And they win that division,
they get a home playoff game, and if they lose
that game, you fire them, you can, you can you
fire him after that? After winning the division and having

a home playoff.

Somebody got to win a toilet ball. It seems like
the eighteen you know, eighteen years a long time.

missed with about yesterday? Lane Kiffin is gone. He's dipped
out to LSU, even though he said that he wanted
to coach in the playoffs and finish this thing through.

But once that was announced, there was speculation, well, hey,
we saw what happened to Florida State a few years back,
their quarterback. I heard at the end of the season
they were undefeated and they got left out of the

by year, you better do right?

the way college football can can come and get a
coach before he's done with what he's actually been hired
and paid to do. Here's an opportunity for them to
win the national championship. What if they for whatever reason,

complete the task, like and if you were to win

Just finish the job. That's that was the whole point
to try to get a chance on that job.

the Cowboys with their offense and where they are now,
they seem like they got something going.

Yeah they do. I think, you know, the momentum has shifted.
The momentum has shifted, and I think I think I
don't know who the Detroit Lions are. I really don't.

You know, are there a running team. Are there passing team? Defensively?

They've completely shifted to what they have been and what
they you know, what they've been built on. Is it
the two coordinators that are no longer there? Does that
have something to do with it? But right now one
team is ascending and one team is decending.

Let me say this real quickie from the piggyback on that,
uh Dan gamble and just I get it. He made
his name by going forward and not kicking the field goals.
It's it's like like at some point you become a
characterure of yourself, you know what I mean, and you
feel like I got to do it because that's my
brand or that's what I did in the beginning. At

some point, doesn't somebody have to shake him to say, dude,
can you kick the field goals once in a while?

Like I said this last week, I said, at a
certain point, that type of blake calling and mismanagement will
get you fired. And yet Dan Campbell was exactly what
they needed to bring that organization from where it was

Both of you guys know that, and just it hadn't
been in a good place, and you know, it took
a biten a kneecaps guy. It took a you know,
we're gonna punch him in them off and get up

we're going to break a few rules to propel us forward.
But when they missed out on going to the super

Bowl because he decided two years ago that he didn't
want to take the points and they lose that game
but to San Francisco by three points, and then the
next year come and double down on that same behavior.
And now this year we're seeing them not getting the
outcomes that they normally would when they make decisions like that.
A certain point no matter, if you can't get past

a certain point, then maybe it's time for a new voice.
Those type of decisions will get you fired. I know
how crazy and weird that is to say about, you know,
someone who's changed the organization. But it's too much, brother, like,
I can't believe he's doing that.

Listen, you know I watched those in agony because again
they worked too hard to get down there, to not
get points, to take it three or or the opposite,
to not punt it and they put the other team

to another game because you just you spoke of those

Look, I love Mike Tomlin. I think he's been a
tremendous force in this league. I also understand that I'm
a realist. The one thing I do know is the
Pittsburgh Steelers have never fired a head coach. They've only
had three fifty four years. Mike Tomlin is the third.

So for us, no matter how we feel about Mike
Tumblin and what we think should be done, they don't
put the rooms from it. They are going. They look
they have set a precedent and a standard and as
long as he's not been under fire, he's made the playoffs.
They haven't won a playoff game. Say, for whatever reason,

they win the last you know, three out of the
last for five games or whatever, and they end up
winning that division because that division is clearly up in
the air, nobody wants it. And they win that division,
they get a home playoff game, and if they lose
that game, you fire them, you can, you can you
fire him after that? After winning the division and having

a home playoff.
