Speaker 1 (02:11):
Kelvin, we got welcome in you brouh. You've been going
for fifty eleven days. At my goodness, gracious, uh, welcome,
Welcome back, Rob. I don't even know where you were
going because it was in so many different states, in
so many cities.

Speaker 4 (02:26):
I don't even know what you were doing.

Speaker 5 (02:27):
Great, great time, uh, the second leg of my baseball
tour around America because this is one more leg next month.
I mean you like legs, yeah, wings mostly yeah, but yeah.
I was in Dallas, Arlington, then I went to DC,
best friend Fred, his wife Sabrino, a great time with them,

(02:51):
Houston and then New Orleans.

Speaker 4 (02:54):
So it was a really great trip.

Speaker 1 (02:55):
He was risking it. You know, you look like you
could be Cuban or something. You know, people yet Southern
States right now, I know what you know. Yeah, I'm
just saying they rounding people up, you know, and my
Spanish is so good, you know, let's.

Speaker 4 (03:09):
Not get carried away. Yeah you I think I'm moving
to Mexican. There you go.

Speaker 5 (03:12):
I said that, and they put handcuffs on me. I'm
glad to see you're not.

Speaker 4 (03:16):
A handcuff though. Today. Throw you back, Yeah, that's right.

Speaker 1 (03:19):
Yeah, so much going on in the news, my goodness. Yeah, yeah,
it was definitely a crazy news day, all right, Uhamy
almost hits. What in the world was a letdown? Well,
you kind of knew it was. We knew it was
gonna be. It was coming from Russia.

Speaker 4 (03:34):
Let down.

Speaker 5 (03:35):
All Alex you just wanted to do is run to
the beach, pull your trunks down.

Speaker 4 (03:40):
Don't let the tsunami hit you in the crack. Is
that what you wanted?

Speaker 1 (03:44):
I think your only thing, the only thing you messed
up was they hit the trunks would have already been.

Speaker 5 (03:48):
Down, right, But but he wanted the tsunami, you know,
to to just.

Speaker 6 (03:57):
No.

Speaker 1 (03:58):
I know, I know, Goodwell, if I go to some
places that have hammocks, make sure I use a little
lights off because I know your naked cheeks. You keep
telling every time you tell me about something, we found
this hammock dude, But I'm gonna tell you naked hammock.

Speaker 4 (04:12):
No, it just my story. The one the.

Speaker 5 (04:15):
Tsunami, the really bad one in Asia. When was that
remember twenty eleven or twenty yeah, yes, probably I think
they made a movie about it. But real quick, the
story of the mother who had two kids and she
couldn't hold on anymore, and she had to let one

(04:36):
of the they would all die if she didn't, you
know what I mean, She had to let one kid go.

Speaker 4 (04:41):
Can you imagine the anguish mother.

Speaker 5 (04:45):
I'm just saying, no, no, no, But here's a story
which is great, who as a parent, she lets the
older boy go. He swims and survives, and the families reunited.
Can you can you? Can you imagine that? Like but
but it's an instinct, like you have to have to
do something otherwise you're all going to perish.

Speaker 4 (05:06):
So she had to do something and stronger I was
able to do.

Speaker 5 (05:12):
It, not the not the smaller boy, and and survived
and were reunited.

Speaker 1 (05:17):
And it felt so good. That's absolutely that's a movie.
And I'm just giving you like a that's a great heartwarming.

Speaker 4 (05:23):
Somebody better made a movie. If they haven't, I think
they made a movie about it.

Speaker 5 (05:26):
All right, let's welcome in the Odd Couple crew on
this Magic City. No, it's not, it's a worship every
time I come back, I think I think it's Monday
every time. Any time you come back, it's Magic City Monday.

Speaker 1 (05:40):
The last time you came back, it was Magic City
Monday for two days.

Speaker 4 (05:46):
Who all right, I'm just every time? What happens? What
does she do to you? No, it's it's it's the
whole idea.

Speaker 5 (05:52):
Is normally when you come back from vacation, it's on Monday.
But I've been doing these weird while I'm leaving Tuesdays
and coming back on Wednesday.

Speaker 4 (06:02):
City Monday. You do know life goes on without you? Right, Yes,
I know, no doubt about it. All right, let's welcome
in the Odd Couple crew.

Speaker 5 (06:11):
Robb g is our producer, Alex is our engineer. Martin
Weiss is at the anchor desk. Will keep us updated.
And Elijah never heard of him social media?

Speaker 1 (06:25):
Ever heard of him? Is uhe? I heard in the building.
He was in the building.

Speaker 4 (06:31):
How was that? Elijah? It was good. It's always good.
To see him. I did not get a chance to.
I do have.

Speaker 6 (06:37):
I know.

Speaker 1 (06:37):
It's if I could say one thing, Elijah, I do
need you to speak up a little bit.

Speaker 4 (06:41):
What are you talking about? Like literally, like like the
volume level? You ever noticed that? You're like, yeah, Elijah,
what you think about me? Gonna do it? But I
just think you know that's his personality. You want him
to be fake.

Speaker 1 (06:51):
It's a louder because you know, sometimes I'll be a
little far away or Alex will have the music going
and stuff, and you know, and I'll be like, uh,
I didn't hear anything you said, Elijah, but yeah, so
shout out to while you whipping on Elijah now won
he I love him so much. I want to hear
more of them. I asked some something deep yesterday and
he was like, well, no, he's a low He's a

(07:13):
load talker. Din you watch the seinfelw episode is a
lo talker. I know that episode. Thank you, thank you
for picking one that I know. All Right, we gotta
get to what Darryl Morry said. Yeah, Daryl Moury has
some stuff to say about the bubble and uh that
won that championship, which is what a lot of people say.

Speaker 4 (07:32):
About it.

Speaker 5 (07:34):
Yes, Rob g can you can you uh tell us
what what Darryl Mory said about the Lakers. He kind
of dissed the organization and Lebron and everybody else.

Speaker 3 (07:45):
Rob The Athletic did a five year update post Bubble
Championship in a piece that ran earlier on Wednesday, and
during it they asked these guys for a series of questions,
you know, what was it like there?

Speaker 4 (07:58):
What do you remember and old?

Speaker 3 (08:00):
What is the Bubbles legacy in NBA circles? Darryl Moury,
former Rockets exact now with the Sixers, had this doozy
of a take. Here's what he said quote. Had the
Rockets won the title, I absolutely would have celebrated as legitimate,
knowing the immense effort and resilience required.

Speaker 4 (08:17):
Yet everyone I speak to around the league.

Speaker 3 (08:20):
Privately agrees that it doesn't truly hold up as a
genuine championship.

Speaker 4 (08:28):
Really, is that where he's going?

Speaker 5 (08:32):
Because I gotta tell you this, the only thing more
fraudulent than that Bubble chip is Darryl Mory.

Speaker 4 (08:42):
I mean talk about a fraud.

Speaker 5 (08:45):
Talk about all of the players he's moved, and all
the analytics and how smart he was and all this,
he has nothing to show for it. How in the
world could you even take that, put that out of
your mouth and say that when.

Speaker 4 (08:59):
You haven't won. Chack.

Speaker 5 (09:01):
Sure you can say it ain't the greatest championship, but
it's a championship.

Speaker 4 (09:06):
We're counting it. I don't know about you. We're counting it.

Speaker 5 (09:09):
When you look in the NBA record books and you
look in the stats, and you look at the championship.

Speaker 4 (09:16):
By year, guess what it's in there.

Speaker 5 (09:19):
I hate to break it to you, guys, there's nothing
in any major sports with an asterisk.

Speaker 4 (09:25):
I know they bring.

Speaker 5 (09:26):
Them all old got an asterisk next to it. No,
nothing has an asterisk next to it. Zero nothing.

Speaker 4 (09:34):
It counts.

Speaker 5 (09:36):
They won, no matter what the circumstances were. The only
thing worse is to hear from a loser is a
guy who hasn't won. Seriously, keep your mouth shut. If
daln Warret won three championships in three different cities or whatever,
talk all you want, he had one, Jack, Why why

(09:59):
would you bring this up up?

Speaker 4 (10:00):
Why are you talking about it?

Speaker 5 (10:01):
And then he goes, well, I would I would say
it was legiti to of course you would.

Speaker 4 (10:06):
Do you know why? Because they would have handed you
a trophy at the end.

Speaker 5 (10:09):
You would have got championship checks, you would have got
championship rings.

Speaker 4 (10:14):
What is this?

Speaker 1 (10:17):
Trust the process? I say, Hush the process. That's what
I'm saying, Darrel Mory, hush. First of all, the one
thing I just said was and you just mentioned a
hippocritical he already said if I would have won, I
would have counted that. But my thing is, dude, this
is coming from a guy who trusted his system to
James Harden, who was a known, proven person that does
not elevate his game in the postseason.

Speaker 6 (10:39):
Right.

Speaker 1 (10:39):
This is Darryl Moray who had a chance to go
to the finals with those twenty seventeen rockets, hopefully, in
their mind, could beat the Warriors.

Speaker 4 (10:46):
They don't.

Speaker 1 (10:47):
You know why, Rob, because the process of shooting nothing
but threees oh for twenty seven is what cost him that.
This is the same guy that goes to another organization
with the seventy six ers and brings James Harden and
hitch his wagon to Harden, who has not performed in
the playoffs or in crunch time when it actually matters.
This is the same guy that has proven to draft
got Ben Simmons doesn't work out. Markel's folds doesn't work

(11:08):
out everywhere, every all the systems and guys and processes.

Speaker 4 (11:12):
It hasn't counted for anything yet. So Darren Moray is good.

Speaker 1 (11:15):
If you want to start something and maybe win fifty games,
I'll give you that. I'll give you that. He can
go get a James Hard and they can win. They
can find a way to do nothing but layups in
threes and they'll win fifty games. But ultimately, when we're
talking about championships, he is out of this conversation because
he hasn't even sniffed the finals appearance, let alone actually
win a championship and a few things to remember about
the bubble, and I get it. I think the better

(11:35):
word for the bubble is unique. It was the most
unique situation.

Speaker 4 (11:41):
I have no problem.

Speaker 5 (11:42):
But if people don't want to like to me, like
put it up there on a pedestal, or or bow
down to it. I don't have any issue to rat
it or make fun of it when you haven't won anything.
That that's my issue is that of all people to
have a problem with it.

Speaker 1 (12:00):
Phil Jackson can say that my thing about it. That's
why I use the term unique. Some people like Lebron
said it's the hardest one ever. I don't necessarily agree
with that, but I do believe it was the most
mentally challenging. I want to remad a couple of things
that folks were saying when if we were called the bubble,
this wasn't just the Lakers, this wasn't just Lebron. You
got Paul George. I underestimated the mental health. Honestly, I

(12:22):
had anxiety, a little bit depression from being locked in there.
I just wasn't here. I was checked out. You go
to Jalen Brown, being here in the bubble. I guess
people might not speak on it, but it is a
challenge for a lot of guys. It's like your at
work all the time. And he goes on to say
how being isolated for the rest of society, you know,
Giannis not being able to see her family, being there
for three months, playing games with no fans, it's going

(12:42):
driving you mental. So my point is, even you got
other guys as well. DeMar Derozen talked about it.

Speaker 5 (12:47):
They don't talk about how much what you call it, guy,
how much rest and you know what I mean, and
less distractions or whatever. And you could really focus in
on it and it wasn't trying time. I get all
the other stuff that comes with it as well. Only
I think that really helped the Lakers with the two
players that they had.

Speaker 1 (13:03):
Oh to get into the pause to that, I can
understand that. That's why I said to me the word
is unique, because dude, I remember, I think, and further
we get from the bubble. I think the further we
all get from remembering COVID. I remember going to the
grocery store and genuinely thinking like, man, am I gonna
get sick? Well, I die, Especially those first few months
when we didn't know what it was and they asked

(13:25):
a lot of point. That last point I'll add to
it is when you talk about what that was for
the Lakers, you also have to add and they they
were trying to win it for Kobe as well. There
would they put that added pressure on the sales that
we want to win one for Mamba. So they had
that as well going But that I think, man, we
as humans forget how scary and how real COVID was
that first go round. That first six months to a year,

(13:47):
we didn't know what it was. People, most of us
lost family members of friends. I mean that was a
scary situation. And to be away from your family when
they could get sick and you don't know and you
couldn't leave h that was a that was a very
scary situation. So I think it's the most unique, the
most trying. You can say it was the hardest. We
say it was the you know, Disney Bubble one. But
to me, I think unique was the perfect word for me.

Speaker 5 (14:09):
All right, eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox eight seven,
seven nine nine six sixty three sixty nine. And should
the Bubble Championship have an asterisk? And is Darryl Moray
a fraud?

Speaker 3 (14:24):
A fraud?

Speaker 5 (14:25):
As I would say, We'll continue that conversation next with you.
It is the odd Couple, Rob Parker, kelvin Washington, right

way tire buying should be.

Speaker 4 (14:58):
It is the odd Couple on a worship Wednesday. Do
you know what you need to do? Alex? What's that stick?

Speaker 4 (15:24):
But here's the thing.

Speaker 7 (15:25):
We never have enough time to get to everything we
want to get to.

Speaker 8 (15:28):
And that's why we have a brand new podcast called
over Promised. You see, we're having so much fun in
our two hour show. We never get to everything, honestly,
because this guy is over promising things we never have
time for. Yeah, you blubber, list lame and me.

Speaker 4 (15:42):
Well, you know what it's called over promise. You should
be good at it because you've been over promising women
for years.

Well, it's a Cavino and Rich after show, and we
want you to be a part of it. We're gonna

continue on our after show called over Promised.

Speaker 7 (16:00):
Well, if you don't get enough Covino on Rich, make
sure you check out over Promised and also Uncensored by
the way, so maybe we'll go at it even a
little harder. It's gonna be the best after show podcast
of all time.

Speaker 8 (16:11):
There you go, over Promising. Remember you could see it
on YouTube, but definitely join us. Listen Over Promised with
Cavino and Rich on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts or
wherever you get your podcasts.

Speaker 4 (16:22):
Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 1 (16:24):
It is the odd couple of Robs back Rob Parker,
Kelvin Washington on a worship Wednesday, aching e stiff back
joints not working, not cooperating with Some days, your body's
just like noping on those days.

Speaker 4 (16:36):
Thankfully, luckily there is a leave with just one pell.

Speaker 1 (16:39):
The lead provides up to twelve hours of pain relief
so you can keep it moving, use as directed eight seven,
seven ninety nine one five, Oh My good night back
Daryl Morey saying that the Bubble Championship is not really legitimate.
Uh Robin I saying that ain't the person to be
talking about it's just not to get the other thing

(17:00):
I want to before we get to these calls real quick,
Rob too. We don't do that with shortened seasons like
the Spurs, Like nobody like that wasn't that wasn't a
legitimate champions You just say Tim Duggan has five you
know you don't. You don't do that with some of those.
So it's what, you know, interesting what we choose Sowny
championships won against New Jersey. I'm just saying, no nets

(17:21):
like that. I'm just saying, Dwight, I know Dwight in Kentucky.
You're on the odd couple of Fox Sports Radio. What's up, Dwight?

Speaker 9 (17:27):
Hey, how y'all doing? Man? Yes, my opinion, I think
the Bubble Championship was probably one of the hardest things
than any athletes had to do. Because I'm talking about
it from the mental standpoint.

Speaker 4 (17:40):
Yep.

Speaker 6 (17:40):
I could know how mentally.

Speaker 9 (17:41):
How COVID was affecting me, So I can imagine those guys.

Speaker 6 (17:45):
You know.

Speaker 9 (17:45):
I remember my grandkids from out of another state came
to visit me and they I had to visit them
through their car. They stinking in the car with the
windows up, and I'm out back talking to them because
BA Paul was in the high risk category. You know
what I'm saying, right that Colan was not real. People
think it's like there's something that wasn't real to eat
for them, guys even get out there on the court
man doing that. Man, you got to give them extra

(18:06):
points with just that.

Speaker 6 (18:08):
It was so hard.

Speaker 9 (18:08):
I remember we had a couple of guys sneak it out.

Speaker 10 (18:10):
Remember that.

Speaker 4 (18:11):
Yeah, No, I mean that's why we all forget that.

Speaker 1 (18:14):
That's why I said, the further we get away from COVID,
the more people are going to forget how difficult time.

Speaker 4 (18:18):
Well, if I wanted to go hear some wings, I
understand it, you know what I'm saying.

Speaker 1 (18:21):
Not during COVID, Yes, yeah, don't you remember who left
lou Will Yeah, to go get wings, Living Pepper.

Speaker 4 (18:27):
Joints, Mark and Sacramento. You're in the eye couple of
Fox Sports Radio. What's up? Mark?

Speaker 6 (18:33):
What's going on? Rob? What's going on? Mister Washington?

Speaker 4 (18:35):
Mark? What's good?

Speaker 10 (18:36):
Brother?

Speaker 6 (18:37):
And prayers out to the family of Ryan Samberg. I
was a big fan, great second Basement.

Speaker 4 (18:42):
Yeah, I mean cancer. What's sixty five years old?

Speaker 11 (18:45):
Man?

Speaker 4 (18:45):
Rhino y Rock?

Speaker 6 (18:47):
Rob? You might remember this, but I still that would happen,
and I think Dryl Moorees Delmore is crazy. Mentally, it
was this is what happened to this league. You remember
it started off with the with their prize rookie, Zion
Williamson and Clay Thompson. Those guys are hurt. They started
the season that way. Then that Darryl Mory China stuff hit.
Then David Stern passed away eight eight months, eight weeks later,

(19:13):
Kobe Bryant passed away. Then COVID hit, Then we had
George Boyd and we had civil unrest. Then they asked
those guys that go down in the bubble, which none
of them wanted to be in, and then they tried
to finish that season. That was the hardest mental thing
any league had went through. For guys have to go
back and try to play. That was extremely tough. I
think Darryl Morey's crazy, the completely mental with those guys

(19:35):
had to go through mentally that whole year, that league
was devastated by what was happening to it. Mentally, look
at all the stuff that happened.

Speaker 5 (19:41):
In DA I don't disagree with all that stuff. I
think the one thing that was great and appreciate what
the call was. Just that like it was a chance
to just focus on basketball because it really was nothing
else going on. And once you've committed to it, and
once you were there, you know what I mean, you
probably probably had the uh, the most uh what's the

(20:04):
right word. I want to say, relaxing, But do you
know what I mean? Like nobody ever gets that it
was a it was a mental break from everything because
you really weren't able to do anything.

Speaker 4 (20:14):
See that's why I get what you say, but I
don't agree.

Speaker 5 (20:17):
See when I went to Antarctica and I was on
a ship for two days without any communication with anybody
or anything, it was refreshing.

Speaker 4 (20:27):
It actually was, and I never felt better. And that's
what I'm talking. I'm just talking about that.

Speaker 5 (20:32):
Sure you want your family around, Sure you want to
be able to do other things, but it did give
you a moment to stop in life, which which we
normally don't get.

Speaker 1 (20:41):
That's all I'm I'm just I think it's hard when
dudes or dads or their husbands or their their mom
is sick. But I can't be there, And it warn't
longer you went, the longer you went. So some people
were in there three months because they went further and
further down the postseason. H and I just, I just
I can't imagine that.

Speaker 4 (20:57):
You know that.

Speaker 1 (20:58):
That's very very difficult, and it very unsettling. We didn't
know what was going on the world. President Trump said
two weeks we'll be all back, you know what I mean?
Two soup plus years. So that was just did that
was crazy? John and Boston. You're on the odd couple
of Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 12 (21:13):
What's up, John, Good evening. Fellas always enjoyed listening to
you guys.

Speaker 4 (21:17):
John appreciate that absolutely well.

Speaker 12 (21:20):
Speaking of unique, I'm a sixty two year old white
guy in Boston who's a huge Lebron fan, so that right, Yeah,
I'm like one of one are Actually the thing is,
I get tired of hearing about his fraudulent championship because
if Michael Jordan had done that, we would have talked
about his leadership and his focus and his single mindedness.

(21:42):
Lebron does it and it's turned into something that's fraudulent.
I mean everyone talks about the neutral court that he
was playing on. Well, the Lakers had the best record
in the West, they.

Speaker 6 (21:51):
Would have had home court advantage.

Speaker 12 (21:52):
Throughout the playoffs.

Speaker 9 (21:53):
They didn't have that.

Speaker 12 (21:54):
And I don't hear much about the Dodgers winning a
World Series in a sixty game schedule when no one
in the stands for the World Series of very few
people I don't hear about.

Speaker 4 (22:03):
I was there and I was in Texas for that.

Speaker 12 (22:06):
Right, So it wasn't It wasn't overly crowded, But in
terms of doing it in a fifty game season, that's
a bit different than a full season. But then look
at the Buccaneers that year. First of all, they played
the Super Bowl in their home field, on their home field,
but they also did have fans to deal with on
the road. You know what a massive advantage that is
when you have a veteran quarterback, I mean sorr Aon

(22:27):
Rodgers and Tom Brady basically toys with defenses that year
because there was no noise to deal with. I know,
no one cares about hockey, but the Tampa Bay Lightning
want to stand the Cup in the same exact setting
like the NBA, and I just don't hear all pardulent
cases made against those guys.

Speaker 5 (22:43):
That's fair, I mean, that's fair. And the biggest thing
is Darryl Worry of all people. I mean, that's all
you know, he's the last guy should be talking. Let's
squeeze and Drew real quick, Drew in New Jersey. You're
on the eye couple of Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 4 (22:56):
What's up, Drew? Hey, welcome back, Rob, Thank you buddy.

Speaker 10 (23:00):
How are you not bad? I gotta say, I definitely
don't think it's a fraudulent championship. Got the toughest championship,
but it definitely not fraudulent. I don't think you can
call Darryl Moury fraudulent. I mean, look at when he
spoke out about trying to in that Houston market. He
probably lost his job and he's maybe because of that.

Speaker 5 (23:20):
I'm just talking about the idea that he's put together
these teams and at some point, Drew, you gotta win, Okay,
That's what I'm talking about. Like, like, he's never even
made the NBA finals, So that's when I'm talking about fraudulent.

Speaker 4 (23:33):
You're like this great GM and you've made all these moves.
Where where's the hardware? We judge all the people like that, right,
we judge well, Aaron.

Speaker 5 (23:42):
Aaron Judge will not be solidified as a Yankee until
he wins a champions should be getting all the homeworks
he wants.

Speaker 10 (23:49):
Well, I think that with the seventy six ers he
didn't like. He came in in twenty twenty one, so
a lot of.

Speaker 12 (23:54):
The guys were already there.

Speaker 10 (23:55):
The first move he did make was drafting Kyrie s Maxley,
which was the steal of the draft.

Speaker 4 (24:00):
No, but I'm just saying, but he's been there longer
than that. He's been a GM for a long time,
is my point.

Speaker 1 (24:05):
And relevant is that we're talking he's calling out somebody
else's championships. Not that he's never done anything right, It's
that he's the one if.

Speaker 5 (24:12):
All people got a champion, if he had three in
his back pocket, I'd have to listen, Okay, I would.

Speaker 4 (24:18):
That's the issue. All right.

Speaker 1 (24:20):
We got some more uh, some things that have happened.
We've got some gambling issues for sure, and one happened
out here in LA. We'll tell you about that in
just a little bit. Right now, Martin Weiss is gonna
get you setting with trending What's up hard.

Speaker 2 (24:30):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Odd Couple
with Rob Parker and kelvin Washington weekdays at seven pm
Eastern four pm Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the
iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 1 (24:41):
Rob Parker's back in town Kelvin, Washington on a worship Wednesday,
Now to Magic City Monday. Get that right, Rob, Okay,
just once you make sure we got two more hours.
You gotta, you know, hit that lead and make sure
you get it right. I'll get it figured out by tomorrow.
Ache Ye, stiff back Joy's not cooperating. Some days your
body's just like no. And on those days, luckily there's
a lead with just one p A lead provides up

(25:01):
to twelve hours of pain relief so you can keep moving.

Speaker 4 (25:04):
Used as directed.

Speaker 1 (25:07):
Martin was just talking about that investigation into Gilbert Arenas
having some home casinos written out his home, taking cuts
from the pod having well you just did the operative word, right, yeah,
taking cuts from the tips from the young ladies as well.

Speaker 4 (25:24):
There's a lot going on. Then you're dealing with the irs,
all kinds of income, you know what I mean. It's
just a handful of different things. And then line to
the investigator.

Speaker 1 (25:34):
There you go, That's what that's that's the key part,
right there is the line to investigators, and then it
starts to become who else is there? Let's just say,
you know you're hearing that it isn't gonna be just
about necessarily the games or who was there gambling that
happens every weekend around this country.

Speaker 4 (25:53):
Nobody really cares about that.

Speaker 1 (25:55):
It's gonna be more about, well, what you mentioned live
to investigators, who is connected to with the Israeli mob
ties there?

Speaker 5 (26:03):
You know that they're probably were monitoring him the map tize. Yeah,
you know what I mean, like that guy, he's on
their radar. That's what they know.

Speaker 1 (26:11):
And I think even bigger or more interesting is I
think they're gonna be looking for any types of rico things.

Speaker 4 (26:17):
Who are these ladies, were they of age, where they come,
where they come from? State? State, out of state? You
know what I mean? Did you trensfer them? Were there
any drugs there? You know what were for you?

Speaker 1 (26:28):
Facilitating drugs for the folks who are going to be
there for these long extended weekends gambling. You know, people
are gonna want their fetishes, their appetites. I want the ladies,
I want the drugs, I want the you know whatever
else is going on action. Yeah, So all of that,
I think is what's going to be potentially getting him
in trouble, and they're saying could be up to right now,
as at least as of now, maxim up to five
years with fifteen, Oh you might have saw something.

Speaker 4 (26:51):
Yeah, it may maybe increases. Rob did you see five
or fifteen? I thought it was.

Speaker 1 (26:55):
I thought, yea, I saw five. Robber just said five too,
But I mean, who knows this is early? Yeah, Martin
just said five too. Yeah, I saw five, But who
knows this is right now?

Speaker 4 (27:05):
It's just one count so things could get at it.
You never know.

Speaker 1 (27:07):
But yeah, this is just disappointing because Gilbert Arenas listen,
he keeps finding himselves in this situation.

Speaker 6 (27:14):
Man.

Speaker 1 (27:14):
You remember back in nine with the whole gun situation
that started off from what card games and gambling started
off with the beat and then you get Crittington and
then they get into it and guns get drawn. He said,
then the real issue that the police had and all
that in the FEDS investigating that was more so him
transporting guns around the country because he was taking a
gun all those different arenas he was going to, So

(27:36):
that ended up being anything. So you got transportation of guns,
you got to gambling, and now here we are. He
had the issues in high school as well. So this
just is not the season you would want that to happen.
Your son is going through it, he was injured, he's
trying to, you know, get into his first year of
college and play ball.

Speaker 4 (27:53):
You want to be there.

Speaker 1 (27:54):
You want to be able to be a part of
that experience for him, And now you got this stuff
going on, man, and it's just it's obviously it's disappointing
and for him. And now you gotta wait and see
how this investigation on folds, because there could be a
lot more that comes out of it, the gambling aspect.

Speaker 5 (28:12):
And you brought it up like he's been danced around
this whole thing before and been in some trouble and
a lot of people.

Speaker 4 (28:21):
I know his nickname is.

Speaker 5 (28:22):
Agent Zero, But in this case Zero rolls because there's
a lot of money involved.

Speaker 4 (28:27):
And when you start dealing with a lot of money,
this ain't a nickel and dime, it's what a couple
of guys who work at ups so exactly throwing ten
dollar bills around.

Speaker 5 (28:36):
No one's going to be involved in that or worried,
and then you never know who's in there, who lost
or whatever the situation is. And I'm gonna get back
at these guys who fleece me or whatever the situation is,
because you know, obviously it's a it's a it's a
hush hush kind of private thing going on until somebody
goes and tell somebody, you know what I mean, Like,

(28:57):
that's that's the danger of it.

Speaker 1 (29:00):
That's what it is when you start getting it. You know,
in this case Israeli mobsters. Now you're dealing with some
other guys, and don't I don't get I don't know
the extent that he know was he was he you know,
was that a personal friend? Was he out of the loop,
just was unaware? All I know is you written out
the house. You got big time money going through there.

Speaker 4 (29:16):
I mentioned.

Speaker 1 (29:16):
Now you start talking about girls, and now you start
taking cuts, taking cuts, and now you just get concerned
about those rico types of things where you know you've
got money, tax evasion, you've got again hopefully no trafficking
of anything, whether it be drugs, hopefully all the girls,
young ladies, were of age.

Speaker 4 (29:34):
Just all of that.

Speaker 1 (29:35):
There's a lot of stuff that becomes a scary thing
if you're gil with her, if you're anyone else that's
in that investigation.

Speaker 5 (29:40):
Well and what a busy day it was. I mean,
there was just so many stories. This Gilbert Arena's story
of course, Shannon Sharp, that's a real one too. Me
are you getting on that at all? And Marcus Morris,
you know, like and he was in court and that
was involved again casinos.

Speaker 4 (29:55):
Not man gambling. Yeah, we got baseball players. We talk
about it all the time.

Speaker 5 (30:00):
It's it's going to be a part of the story
and conversation as you go forward because it's a part
of it. And people are feeling more comfortable with gambling
because it's a bigger part of our society now than before.
It used to be frowned upon. It was taboo. Now
is everywhere. Kids are doing it, And that's the real concern.

Speaker 1 (30:19):
Martin Gear wasn't one jumping here real quick, But that's
the real concern, is that they're worried about these kids
who it's normal. It's like a game for them, Like
it's just they cut on their phone. It's on the phone,
it's easy access and they can do I'm just picking
if he's gonna have five catches or he's gonna have
two touchdowns, and that stuff becomes such important part of
their life.

Speaker 4 (30:34):
Nor that now it's an issue for them as an adulthood.

Speaker 6 (30:38):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (30:39):
I just wanted to take a moment.

Speaker 13 (30:41):
And I know Rob is going to be really broken
up about this, but very very tough day for the
Athlete podcast. You got the twins across the board, Gilbert,
I mean half the significant portion of the athlete podcast market.
Cat taking out you, Kelsey Brothers better out. Michael's mad

(31:01):
right now? Broken up about it.

Speaker 4 (31:04):
I'm not I wish no one any ill will. It's
just easier not to listen, That's all I'm just saying. Yeah,
some of them. Yeah, man, the pot is going through it.

Speaker 1 (31:13):
It's been a it's been a rough week for the
pod sure, and for me there's no damage done because
I never missed their podcast, so I never listened, so
I never missed it. And then you got the other two.
You got a couple of beefing Cam and Ryan Clark
going back and forth. Ryan Clark loves some beef.

Speaker 5 (31:30):
For Ryan Clark, I thought he apologized and he came back,
because then Cam came back and so Ry what else
I missed that?

Speaker 6 (31:37):
Well?

Speaker 4 (31:37):
Right, Ryan Sook. He's good at doing all some night
and not like a what do he apologize?

Speaker 5 (31:41):
I heard him saying, you know, Cam's career is a
m v P and I was just the undrafted player
made good bye forms.

Speaker 1 (31:48):
He said, that's the story you should be telling. Yeah,
I make sure you high like that that I played
longer than you. Right, Yeah, Ryan love it. Ryan loved
jumping in that and then jumping out, but then jumping in,
but jumping out and jumping in.

Speaker 4 (32:00):
All right, checko City. Do you remember how to do it? Yeah?

Speaker 1 (32:04):
Also, lone on, remember you know how to do it?
Speaking of gambling after all that, man, gambling is wild.
Everybody get in trouble. Yeah, but this is taking any
cuts though, I'm not taking cuts from the people in Shekels.
What about the other part of the girls? No, no,
that is whatever money you make, you you hold on to.
All right, we got Shekel City on the way. It
is The Odd Couple. Rob's back, Kelvin Washington, Rob Parker

(32:25):
on a worship Wednesday, Fox Sports Radio, Rob Sterling Junior.

Speaker 2 (32:30):

Speaker 2 (33:09):
Welcome to Shekel City. Oh for Rob Parker's daily Dix
against the spread.

Speaker 4 (33:17):
Did I knew that?

Speaker 6 (33:21):
All right?

Speaker 4 (33:21):
Let's see if you're wrestler, I knew that.

Speaker 6 (33:23):
Do that.

Speaker 4 (33:24):
I knew that.

Speaker 2 (33:26):
I knew that.

Speaker 4 (33:28):
All right, I'm gonna try to do you know? Sound
like that?

Speaker 6 (33:30):
That?

Speaker 5 (33:30):
Sound like that?

Speaker 6 (33:31):
Is that real?

Speaker 4 (33:31):
Alex? All right? You know I left my glasses in
the kitchen or something else here. Let me be ready
for you. Yeah, let me read it for you? All right?
So what was I the last time? Last night?

Speaker 1 (33:43):
You were two and one, which brought your total to
one eighty and one eighty four.

Speaker 4 (33:48):
Why are you gonna forget the five hundred again. Yeah,
I'll get there. I'm not that far behind.

Speaker 1 (33:51):
All right, Uh, here we go, best bet Los Angeles Dodgers.
Oh look at you making on show? Hey bitch, can
you get for anythink they're trying to get it into
the four?

Speaker 4 (34:02):
All right? The down one Right now?

Speaker 1 (34:04):
They are one and a half minus one, minus one
and a half favorites, and we got the Saint Louis
Cardinals minus one and a half. They're taking on the Marlins.
And then you have the Yankees, no surprise, one of
the half favorites taking on the Tampa Bay Rays.

Speaker 4 (34:22):
So there you have it, all right, So we have
the Dodgers, Dodgers and the Yankees.

Speaker 1 (34:28):
Remember one thing, Calvin, what's that I'm not telling you
who to bet on because I don't have my glasses.

Speaker 4 (34:35):
I'm telling you who I bet on.

Speaker 5 (34:37):
And I didn't take a cut from anything about to say, hey,
don't be Gilbert.

Speaker 4 (34:41):
I want the feds to know that.

Speaker 1 (34:42):
Why do I feel like Gilbert Reinas to somehow just
get out all this and he's gonna come back again
and be more and more like you know, it is
what I do.

Speaker 4 (34:49):
It's your boys. He's not gonna change. I mean that's
who he is, and he's been like this.

Speaker 5 (34:55):
He's nice, he's not always he's not a very likable
you know what I mean, Like personality.

Speaker 1 (35:00):
He's zero four hundred you love people love him or
a lot of people hate him. That that's it with
with Gibbs.

Speaker 5 (35:06):
I just saw a lot of social media posts and
people saying, God, maybe yeah, maybe now we don't have
to hear his NBA takes.

Speaker 4 (35:12):
I was like, my god, go I gotta get federally.

Speaker 5 (35:16):
And just stop listening like that, don't subscribe to the podcast,
don't click on.

Speaker 4 (35:24):
I'm just like, you know, it's the algorithms, because obviously
on on.

Speaker 1 (35:28):
Most of my stuff is on Instagram, but I perused
through TikTok and you'll like a Michael Jordan video or
somebody said this.

Speaker 4 (35:36):
Oh so you like podcasts about basketball? All I get
is here here you go.

Speaker 5 (35:41):
People sending me whenever he mentioned, I'm in their headline
of the their podcast a lot.

Speaker 4 (35:46):
I'm in the like when he when they talk.

Speaker 5 (35:48):
About Rob said, Gilbert ripped Steph Curry, Rob Parker exposures
Rob Parker and and so I don't know why don't
Rob g knows he doesn't tell me because he knows something.
He knows he rips me. It's okay, Gil Ris you right, wait,
I think I think you gotta have him on.

Speaker 4 (36:09):
The show before. Didn't we robbed you?

Speaker 3 (36:10):
Yeah, we've had him on at least once, maybe twice.
But yeah, he don't like you.

Speaker 4 (36:13):
No, he don't like me.

Speaker 3 (36:15):
I think you got him once recently. Then we last
I remember it was. And then once Rob found out
that Guil didn't like him, then he really didn't like Yeah.

Speaker 6 (36:22):
I know.

Speaker 3 (36:22):
I'm just saying it couldn't let It's like, if Rob
hates you, it's okay. But if he doesn't like Rob,
and it's a problem.

Speaker 4 (36:27):
Who doesn't like me? What about?

Speaker 1 (36:29):
Okay, Doug, Yeah, don't be making my don't be making
my super Bowl moments all tense. I'm over here having
a nice little we know the boss has got us
mingling and rubbing elbows. And then I turn around, I
see you in Godlie, and I don't know. I know
it was a knuck in a buck moment. Knock if
you buck. I didn't know what was going I didn't know.

Speaker 3 (36:46):
If y'all it was two Jewish guys going out to
trying to figure out who's gonna swing first, and.

Speaker 5 (36:53):
We're trying to debate who was actually gonna pay for
the free ways geez.

Speaker 1 (36:57):
Yeah, and both of the all yeah, both the all
this and for y'all ain't gonna do nothing, y'all like
fifty sat and Rick Ross right.

Speaker 4 (37:03):
Now being Doug, I told you I broke it on
the ESPN with him Game Night, me and Doug gottlie Right,
everybody starts off cool?

Speaker 6 (37:13):
Is that what?

Speaker 4 (37:14):
That's all I get on the air. I had to
break brother's breaking in. Of course, Doug already was in.
He had a key, I had, he had a car key.
I had to break in.

Speaker 3 (37:23):
How could you guys have this great origin story? And
then flash forward ten years and Rob's blocking him on
social media and saying, f Doug gottlieb on the radio, Yeah,
what's up with that?

Speaker 4 (37:34):
I don't know? And he claims I don't know.

Speaker 5 (37:36):
He claims that when I did the tryout that he
was like, you guys should hire Rob.

Speaker 4 (37:44):
He's good. I was on the radio in Detroit, you know,
and all the stuff. That's what he claims.

Speaker 5 (37:48):
And then of course they don't hire me, and I'm
on first take and I'm all this stuff. And then
he goes to the boss of there at the ESPN radio. See, look,
he's all over everything else. I told you back there.

Speaker 1 (38:01):
Are you're building a case that we should be team
Doug right now because it sounds like he was throwing
He was throwing you love he was telling everybody.

Speaker 4 (38:10):
Because I don't know. It sounds like I.

Speaker 11 (38:11):
Don't know how true that story. And that's his story
after the fact, but it's probably more. Was like Hart, Rob,
what's an ax? You can tell me Fred Rogan didn't
do your sign off for his last TV appearance.

Speaker 4 (38:24):
He actually did.

Speaker 3 (38:28):
What's crazy? Like everybody likes me. We just found two
people just a matter of one minute.

Speaker 4 (38:34):
Smoke. There's a lot of people don't like it, which
is fine.

Speaker 5 (38:36):
I get it.

Speaker 1 (38:37):
I can see the Rob g. Rob g is Luke
walmarre Man. He works with me alive. Yeah, that's the problem.
And y'all spent so much time to get Alex. Alex
is now Alex.

Speaker 4 (38:47):
I told you one. Alex is Rob Parker and your
Aaron Judge. He absolutely loves Wow. Top five hitter
