Speaker 6 (04:34):
All right, Hey, we got a great show on this Wednesday.
I was just coming from the ballpark.
Speaker 4 (04:40):
Uh.
Speaker 8 (04:40):
Yes, people are nervous down there. Nervous because you took
all the hot dogs. That's why nervous. Oh god, he's
here for his third day in a row. We're the
hot dogs. Rob G knows. The other day.
Speaker 5 (04:51):
I'm not. I'm gonna pull back the curtain.
Speaker 6 (04:54):
I was talking to Rob you about to leave the ballpark,
and I didn't want to leave the ball talk to
get to the show, rob G. Why didn't I want
to leave one when I should have been.
Speaker 9 (05:04):
Leaving because you had fourteen dollars left on your gift
card that they gave you for free.
Speaker 1 (05:11):
And the best part about this YouTube, he's not joking
like he's really was racking his broth.
Speaker 2 (05:17):
What can I do?
Speaker 6 (05:17):
How much are these cookies can I get? I was like,
I can't walk out of here with fourteen dollars hold.
Speaker 2 (05:23):
Of my mouth. There's a question does it carry over?
Speaker 4 (05:26):
No?
Speaker 2 (05:26):
So like twenty five and then you get to carry
the fourteen you have thirty nine.
Speaker 9 (05:29):
No, you got to spend it today and when I
spend it, when need that receipt But that's a given.
Speaker 1 (05:35):
Come on now, rob g what you're about to pull
out a pocket? This man making the rain receipts. When
I go to Magic City, I get a receipt. She's
the home office. She's like, I'll be back, hold on rode.
They already know I need a receipt. This is a business.
Expect listen business. I'm gonna tell the truth. Though he
(05:57):
ain't lying. It ain't lying.
Speaker 2 (05:59):
You can use don't you have basic for.
Speaker 5 (06:01):
The NBA Players Association?
Speaker 1 (06:03):
Guy right with the running that was the NFL was
the NFL's Yeah, the NFL. He was going crazy. He
told the driver stay here, don't love now, I'll.
Speaker 2 (06:13):
Call you back.
Speaker 6 (06:14):
Like he's in there for three hours with the meter
running right crazy.
Speaker 2 (06:18):
It was longer than that eleven six A m.
Speaker 5 (06:20):
Oh god, all right, all right, uh, let's welcome into
the odd couple.
Speaker 10 (06:23):
Cool.
Speaker 6 (06:23):
We wouldn't be able to do this fine radio program
without him. Rob g is our producer Mexican. That's right,
alex Is d Isaac long kron is at the anchor
was updated throughout the program.
Speaker 2 (06:39):
Don't say that out loud. YouTube gonna be mad.
Speaker 6 (06:40):
And of course heard of him. Elijah is our social
new Elijah.
Speaker 2 (06:47):
Like that Elijah. He saved me moments ago.
Speaker 5 (06:49):
Yes, he's the best. All right, Hey, let's get here.
It's game five and I told you.
Speaker 6 (06:54):
About the Blue Jays yesterday show. Hal Tani counts he's
the greatest player who ever walked the face of the earth.
He gave up four runs, went zero for three and
struck out twice. I don't want to hear about game three.
Game four, that was the one that would have pushed
him over.
Speaker 2 (07:14):
They would have a.
Speaker 5 (07:15):
Three to one lead. Here he was on the mound.
Speaker 6 (07:18):
Everybody was so small at Dodger Stadium, even Shae.
Speaker 5 (07:23):
The Dodgers are winning five games. He bet me wings
where's my gift card?
Speaker 3 (07:29):
Shaye?
Speaker 5 (07:29):
I want it now? Five games?
Speaker 6 (07:32):
My ass old Tany couldn't even have to come through for.
Speaker 5 (07:36):
Them yesterday when they needed them.
Speaker 1 (07:38):
The best part is Rob said, the Blue Jay's gonna
win five depend on what network we watched it. I
wanted to sing. I was watching at my other job
and Brian McKenny you said hi, I said six, Yeah, okay,
I got two out there.
Speaker 5 (07:53):
Five.
Speaker 2 (07:53):
Yeah. We all had the beach right now with I'm
gonna take the six.
Speaker 5 (07:58):
Okay.
Speaker 11 (07:58):
So here's Rob g Today news is that Dave Roberts
has made some switches. He has he has coming into
the night's Game five. Again, whoever wins game five when
it's two and two?
Speaker 2 (08:10):
If you hit me with aer, you not to win
it the time?
Speaker 1 (08:15):
You know, you know everyone has been since seventy right,
everyone sixty If you know the winner of game one,
sixty nine, winner of Game three, I don't want to
hear any more.
Speaker 9 (08:25):
So the big story coming into game five is that
the Dodgers, outside of Otani I cannot hit the ball
at all. They haven't been hitting as a team all playoffs.
They're batting two fourteen in this World Series, all right.
Worst of all, the quartet of Mookie Bets, Andy Pie has,
Tommy Edmund Key k Hernandez batting it combined one forty seven.
(08:45):
As a result, Dave Roberts making some wholesale changes to
the lineup. Mookie Bets, who's batted second basically all season,
drops down the third, pushes ready for me down to fourth.
Andy pie is out of the lineup altogether. The Dodgers
really moving things around, hopefully get a spark offensively.
Speaker 6 (09:04):
You know what, desperation time for the Dodgers, and Dave
Roberts is just rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic.
Speaker 5 (09:14):
Cause, let's be honest, this is on Andy Piez, who
who's bad? It's ninth, This is on him.
Speaker 6 (09:21):
He's the one who has to come out of the lineup,
even though the big dogs nobody's hitting, is it really
but the Dodgers or they're not even down in this series?
It's two two, and guess who you have on the mound?
You have your ace. Blake snow is on the mount
and you're panicking because of what not? Because of Andy Pyaz,
(09:42):
who's a great defensive player, and he did have twenty
seven home runs kelvin this year right out of nowhere.
I'll give you that. He don't have the track record
that these other guys have. I'll give you that, but
that's the reason you're losing. That you're gonna take him
out of the lineup. Mookie's not hitting months, he's not hitting.
I mean, Freddie's not really hitting. You know, he's had
(10:03):
the walk off, and O'tani other than those two games
is not hitting like they're really struggling offensively. And I
just don't stay the course after tonight. You lose tonight. Okay,
I'm with you. You got your a's on the mound.
Stay the course. Tonight was not the night. It's just
(10:26):
window dressing. I disagree. I think it was too I
think it's late. I think Dave Roberts was riding. Andy
probably has too long for fifty. At least he's consistent,
consistently bad. And let me tell you why, I actually
wish you to say you said it the ninth hole.
The reason why, Robzie, This is how I know I'll
(10:46):
be dealing with the hypocrisy of Rob Parker. Rob Parker
said next to me this entire MLB season going with
Brian Kitty. Let me tell you something, Brian, those home
runs don't matter.
Speaker 1 (10:57):
They don't matter. Got a solo home run? What you
screaming about, oh Toddy doesn't get rbrs. Well, daggit hit
the ninth hole. Wasn't hitting four for fifty? Maybe those
home rules would have been two run three run home runs.
Speaker 2 (11:10):
Can the man get on the base a little bit?
Speaker 1 (11:11):
And I'm not putting it all on him, But what
I'm saying is, in my job as David Roberts, what
do they call it, you are a manager, let me
manage this line.
Speaker 2 (11:20):
Up a little bit. Let me shake this series to two.
Speaker 1 (11:24):
It is two two, but I'm going on the road
for two and i gotta make sure we're absolutely poised
to have a chance to win. And you know what
you do towards the end of something. I don't care
if it's a ball game, I don't care. If it's
a fight, you scrap, you bite, You do anything you
can to win, and dagget if it's moving Andy, moving Mookie,
making some things happen, you have to do that. And
(11:46):
by the way, if it's also bringing a picture that
we never expected to come in to close the game
or to relieve for a little bit. At this point,
it's all hands on deck. Anything goes. We're trying to
win a game. A World Series title, I should say,
so I'm with it in effect. Again, Andy Pie has
had so many chances, even in that eighteen and you're,
all right, maybe he can get out something, but he
(12:06):
played two games and it's it's just it's shine.
Speaker 6 (12:09):
But wait a minute, but the times Okay, I'm not
not I'm not disagreeing that he hasn't hit right, it
is the other okay, But but who have they walked
show Hey to get to mook Okay?
Speaker 8 (12:22):
Why?
Speaker 3 (12:22):
Why?
Speaker 6 (12:22):
Okay, So Mooki is a bigger part of this. I
think I just saw the graphic. He has had a
multi hit game since Game three of the NLCS. I think,
like like now, he struggled and that's a big reason.
That's why they keep walking show Hey and not pitched.
If Mooki was swinging the bad there's no there's no
(12:43):
way they could walk show Heck.
Speaker 1 (12:44):
And this is why MLB bro already know that Mookie
is more likely to come back and be Mookie like
than Andy Pye. You running out of games, so we are,
and that's why you have to start making these changes.
And that's to me why I'm going to do whatever
it takes. And that would be the same thing with
the Blue Jays, or if this were a NBA finals
or in Super Bowl halftime, well, we're gonna stay. Oh,
(13:06):
you make adjustments, you make changes, and baseball it's a
little different. You don't necessarily make adjustments kind of the
same way that other sports do.
Speaker 2 (13:13):
Maybe pitching you do that. We're gonna pitch them a
little differently.
Speaker 1 (13:16):
But this is an adjustment, and I'm not mad at
it because to me, look how far you've gotten not
making that many adjustments. Now, to me, it's all right,
this isn't working. We've tried it. Let's make some adjustments
to see if we can't finish this thing, because you
got one more here in La, then you go on
a road to another whole country.
Speaker 6 (13:36):
Eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox eight seven seven
nine nine six sixty three sixty nine. Was the Dodgers
lineup change a panic move? Are they just rearranging the
deck chairs on the Titanic? Or is this something Dave
Roberts finally figured it out. We'll continue this conversation next

Talk some mb as. We are maybe thirty forty minutes
away from Game five World Series at Dodger Stadium, and
let's get to what we're talking about. Eighty seven seven
ninety nine on Fox, Dave Roberts making some lineup changes,
pushing Mookie down one. Andy Paie has out, and Rob
believes the ship is going down. I believe you scrap, crawl, bite,
(15:45):
whatever you got to do to win three, two out
of three?
Speaker 2 (15:49):
What say you? Sake some casts? All right?
Speaker 6 (15:51):
Tony in DC, you're on the odd couple Fox Sports Radio.
What's up, Tony?
Speaker 13 (15:56):
Oh? Yes, the ship is sinking. They've hit the iceberg.
The band is playing I Love LA and they are shrinking.
Speaker 10 (16:09):
Like I said, I saw rubb she there last night
with his head on rubbin.
Speaker 13 (16:12):
Elbows with lebron and course and went to know the
little LA celebrities like it was a coordination or something.
And then the junior and paler, Vladimir Garrelo.
Speaker 10 (16:23):
Junior said not so fast, you know what you know,
last like us, Last.
Speaker 4 (16:29):
Guys like us.
Speaker 6 (16:30):
Last night was supposed to be a coordination. It was
supposed to be Otani wins this game, gives him a
three to one lead. It's two bombs, and everybody's like,
look at old Toddy, he's the greatest thing going. Instead
four earned runs, zero for three, a couple of strikeouts.
Speaker 2 (16:46):
It was who had the doctor sweeping or winning an easily?
Speaker 6 (16:51):
Now, y'all acting like it's too too That guy over there,
Shane had him in five games.
Speaker 1 (16:55):
That guy Shane, Well, nobody listening to Shane Shae Shane,
even Shy can't even get no face to her.
Speaker 4 (17:00):
Yet.
Speaker 2 (17:00):
Ain't nobody listening to Shay yet? Put shape shape?
Speaker 4 (17:03):
You?
Speaker 2 (17:03):
You said five Rob finding somebody?
Speaker 1 (17:07):
Look Rob finding somebody say say say say said one
there with the Dodgers.
Speaker 2 (17:14):
Got a doctor Jersey.
Speaker 6 (17:15):
On all right, Marty in Kentucky. You're on the couple
of Fox Sports Radio. What's up, Marty, Alex? I needed
to leave, Hey, hey, hey, Marty before you go, Alex.
After last night Otani giving up the four runs earned
runs and and going oh for three, I didn't need
(17:36):
baby oil last night. I needed uh, maple syrup. I'm
just so damn moist after that.
Speaker 1 (17:43):
Oh boy, oh boy, I hope he goes three for
four with three Marty what he got? He didn't want
to hear that, Marty hung up.
Speaker 10 (17:58):
I do think it's panic situation. I really do what
you know, They've had a lot of success and getting
off what getting away from what they do. I don't
think is that smart. But I think the Blue Jays
don't get enough credit for all the intangibles that they
have that are pressuring the Dodgers into panicking. And I
(18:18):
want to tell y'all one really quick story. I'm rooting
for the Dodgers big time because I'm in a bad situation.
I am afraid to gamble on sports because I'm afraid
I'd be addicted. I've never downloaded an app. I never
want to. My father came to me in the spring.
I was I was getting my pull ready and he's
he's seventy eight years old, huge baseball fan, named my
(18:41):
oldest brother, Mickey Fruit. You know yeah. And he tells me, Marty,
I know you know how to do this tech stuff,
this phone stuff. He's like, I want to make a
sports bet. I was like, dad, I'm afraid of those things. Oh,
he tells me in the spring, I want to put
three thousand dollars on the Blue Jays.
Speaker 5 (19:00):
You gotta be kidding me, Marty, Are you serious?
Speaker 4 (19:04):
I swear to you.
Speaker 10 (19:05):
And I told him, I said, he said, he told me,
He said they have it, And I said, what's it?
He said, they just have Wow. He said, you can't
see it in numbers. But when they played the Visional Games,
they're able to take it to another level. And teams
can like that do that in the playoffs, and I'm
scared to death that they're going to win and he's
going to blame me forever.
Speaker 6 (19:28):
That's a great point, Mary, that's great your dad man,
three thousand, that's all that isstry.
Speaker 1 (19:32):
But also on the flip side, Marty, you might have
created a monster had he won. If Pops win, world
have won, he would have been won the game all
the time. So you might have saved him, you know.
And I respect that about Marty saying that, you know,
I'm afraid that I might having to, you know, become addicted.
Speaker 2 (19:44):
That's that's a wise man, right there.
Speaker 6 (19:46):
Marty Brandon in Illinois, you're on the odd couple. Of
Fox Sports Radio. What's up, Brandon Braden? I'm sorry, my man.
Speaker 10 (19:54):
Hi, yo, yo yo, what's up?
Speaker 9 (19:56):
Guys?
Speaker 2 (19:56):
What's up?
Speaker 9 (19:56):
Beat?
Speaker 10 (19:58):
Hey? Dave Roberts is an old school or maybe older
school baseball guy. He knows those guys take pride in
their lineup spot like Mookie's.
Speaker 4 (20:08):
You guys said it.
Speaker 10 (20:09):
Mookie has been batting second all year. Yeap sends a
message to Mookie, Hey, man, I need to see something.
Speaker 13 (20:15):
When you're sitting him down to third.
Speaker 10 (20:17):
It gets in his head and makes him change some things.
Speaker 2 (20:19):
Boy, maybe it changes for the better, or he could pount,
it could be for the worst.
Speaker 5 (20:24):
You know, it might change the Bryton Thank you, Bodim.
Speaker 1 (20:28):
I get the sentiment, but I just don't understand, Like
if I'm trying to win a series and I mix
something up, like what am I supposed to do? Like
if your guys getting cooked, my DB's getting cooked in
the Super Bowl, I might have to put another dude
on him. Like we're trying to win this thing, the
whole thing, So I don't get that part of it.
All right on the way, Levi Weaver, We'll talk some
more MLB with him in just a moment right now,
we got Isaac lower Crown. I know it's gonna get
(20:48):
your set one stringing.
Speaker 3 (20:49):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Odd Couple
with Rob Parker and Kelvin Washington weekdays at seven pm
Eastern four pm Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and The
Eye Hard Radio Whip.
Speaker 2 (21:01):
Didn't need to know, Rob, don't ever show me nothing
like that again.
Speaker 5 (21:05):
They showed me the rat and pizza video. I can't
get that out of my head.
Speaker 2 (21:08):
Well, dang it, now you have introduced me.
Speaker 4 (21:10):
I know.
Speaker 5 (21:10):
Have you seen that?
Speaker 1 (21:11):
I tell you what the Dodger betterway? And I load
just to get that. Hey, y'all better get erased all that.
Speaker 5 (21:16):
How exciting to be president at the birth of a
new phobia.
Speaker 1 (21:19):
Yeah, my gosh, all right, thank you all though, appreciate
that I couple Rob Parker Kelvin Washington on a worship Wednesday.
Speaker 2 (21:27):
And that's right.
Speaker 1 (21:29):

Speaker 2 (21:40):

Speaker 1 (21:43):
Joy now by Levi Weaver, the wind up MLB newsleader
for the Athletic three two fis on uh X.
Speaker 2 (21:52):
So give them a follow there, Levi. What's going on?
Speaker 11 (21:54):
What's happened to Leviy doing all right, doing all?
Speaker 2 (22:00):
Levi?
Speaker 6 (22:00):
I want to know before we get here and the
lineup change and all that. Just what did you have
prior to the World Series? What was your pick? I
had the Blue Jays and six. Kelvin had the Dodgers
in five, six, six.
Speaker 2 (22:14):
Where were you, Levi?
Speaker 4 (22:16):
I did not pick a specific number, but I thought
it was going to be Dodgers in four or five.
I did not think this is going to be close?
Speaker 10 (22:24):
Wait?
Speaker 2 (22:24):
Why four? Though we talked about it, the blue Jays
offensively been great.
Speaker 6 (22:29):
Yeah, blue Jays coming in, you know, averaging six and
a half and this postseason, you know, six runs in
Major League Baseball is a lot. You know, it's a game.
Why did you not think that they would be able
to compete? It is because of the Dodger pitching against
the Brewers.
Speaker 4 (22:44):
Yes, that's one hundred. It was a combination of things,
but that's a big one is the Brewers were such
a good, pesky offensive team, all year long. And no,
they didn't hit a lot of home runs, but they
didn't strike out either, and they played good, solid, fundamental
baseball that I thought at the time, you know, let's
(23:05):
let's see how the Dodgers match up against this. And
the Dodgers steam rolled them and they struck out a
bunch of guys, and I thought, all right, well, this
is just who the Dodgers are. And then on the
flip side, you know, the other half of the inning
is how do I feel like the Blue Jays pitching
is going to match up against the Dodgers offense? And no,
the Dodgers' offense hasn't been quite what we expected this year.
(23:27):
But I just thought that the combination of those two things.
I thought the Dodgers' offense was better than the Blue
Jays pitching, and I thought it would be a better matchup.
But I thought the Dodgers pitching was going to guelch
this hot postseason run that the Blue Data been on.
Speaker 5 (23:42):
No, no, wait a minute, last night was supposed to
be a coronation. It really wasn't. Yeah it was, and LEVI,
why here's my point.
Speaker 6 (23:49):
After the show a game, you know, and they're afraid
to pitch to him and the Dodgers when would walk
off in eighteen innings, You have your guy on the mound, right,
you have this guy, this unicorn, who's he's now going
to pitch a shutout and hit two or three home
runs and everybody will.
Speaker 5 (24:03):
Say he's him, he's that guy or whatever.
Speaker 6 (24:07):
And instead he gives up four arm runs through six innings,
right and uh and goes over three with a couple
of strikeouts. And now it's a different story. I mean,
I don't think most people thought that Dodgers would be
in this situation which show Hay on the mound last night.
Speaker 4 (24:23):
I'll be honest with you, I kind of expected Akhani
to struggle last night from on the mount. And the
reason is he was on base nine times. The previous
guest he is he is him. But you just don't like,
even if you're just taking intentional walks, just being on
your feet, as much as it takes to be on
base nine times, you know, and to have I guess
(24:45):
you know, five played appearances and four intentional walks the
game six and a half hours long, like that takes
so much out of a body. And so when you
look at who is the starting pitchers. Yeah, Beaber got
up and stretched a little bit. They didn't know if
they might need him, but he basically just sat around
for six and a half hours. Otani had a very,
very busy game. So no, I'm not surprised that the
(25:07):
very next night he struggled on the mountain. I kind
of figured that m meada case, well stay here.
Speaker 1 (25:12):
Formiliar with the Dodgers we just got, you know, the
report that Dave Roberts is going to switch in the
lineup a little bit.
Speaker 2 (25:16):
Pie has out, Mookie goes down.
Speaker 1 (25:17):
A spot, uh, panicking, strategic, trying to make some moves
to win a couple of games.
Speaker 2 (25:22):
What do you what do you make of it?
Speaker 4 (25:25):
You know, this is I have never been good at
analyzing lineups. Now, Yeah, if you've got you know the
twenty twenty one Angels and you were to bat show
hey Otani and like trout eighth and nine. Okay, I
feel like I can weigh in and this is a
bad idea. You know, there's just so much data involved
(25:46):
in these decisions now, and they've got you know, this
guy's swing path lines up against this guy's arm path,
and you know the way that this pitch breaks his
mechanics work better against that. So I kind of honestly
just to the managers on all lineup things, forever change
the lineup. Great, he's got some information.
Speaker 6 (26:05):
There, but but here's morny thing, LEVI You're you're sitting
the ninth place hitter.
Speaker 5 (26:10):
He's the reason that you're not winning or not hitting.
Speaker 6 (26:13):
And then you know, like I just look at it like, no,
it's because the reason that Otani was on base nine
times is because they kept walking him in front of
Mookie Bets because Mookie's not hitting months he's not hitting. Uh,
Freddie Freeman other than the walk off, isn't hitting. I
could just go up and down. And I don't know
if Pie as you got, he's the reason why you're
(26:34):
at it to two, you're not down in the series.
Speaker 5 (26:37):
It's too too with your ace on the mound.
Speaker 4 (26:40):
No, sure, sure, but you can't binge everybody, you know,
you gotta you gotta pick one. And Pie has been
worse than the rest, so sure, yeah, you know, bench him,
put somebody else in looking down. These are the sort
of changes that kind of tend to work better a
little at a time. I don't think they're going to
(27:02):
just you know, put all the names in the hat
and draw it out and be like, we really really
got to shake it up. It's been a good offense
so well, you know, not the offense we expected to.
Speaker 2 (27:11):
Be, but the postseason for sure, right right? That's yeah,
he LEVI, Oh go ahead, I'm sorry. Finish your thought.
Speaker 4 (27:17):
Oh well, I was just the finishing thought was like,
I don't I don't have the solution for what I
would have done to fix it. It's it's these things
are are. We all love to gripe about the lineup,
and it's a lot of fun, but when it comes
down to like that, it's it's it's so tricky that
I just I do not claim to be an expert
(27:37):
on that.
Speaker 1 (27:38):
Hey, Vlad Guerrero Junior Black gets five hundred mil. There's
a point throughout the season where even Blue Jay fans
were booling them wasn't exactly like they thought. Rom and
I talked about Juan Soto happened the same thing. Ended
up being a good season for so ended up got you.
If you're glad, I know that Mets didn't make the play, right,
that's true, that's true, But Vlad's got your two games
away from a world Series title.
Speaker 2 (27:59):
How's he been throughout the season?
Speaker 1 (28:01):
Big deal and just trying to live up to the
money and also obviously one win, win one for his father.
Speaker 4 (28:07):
Yeah, I mean, he's been so good this postseason. And
but I's been one of those guys that he's as
we've always known, who was good, but it just seemed
like he was not quite able to put together this,
you know, put to put it all together. And man,
he definitely has done that this postseason. He's been I mean,
I think probably the best hitter that I've that I've
watched in the postseason, with the exception of like those
(28:27):
two games that Donny had in which that was not
even you know, human, But but yeah, I mean he's
he's putting together good at bats, He is hitting the
ball hard when he hits it, and and yeah, but
just like you guys mentioned on the lineup with you know,
it's not all Pie has his fault, it's not all
Guerrero that's got them two games from World Series win either.
(28:49):
That entire lineup has been putting together such good at
bats and just wearing guys down. There was a stretch
in that seventh inning I think he had five hits
them in the four and a last night. For of
those hits came on the first or second pitch. They're
just when it's time to strike, they're stricken to be patient.
They're being patient. I've been so impressed by is often
(29:11):
now here we go.
Speaker 6 (29:12):
I got the Dodgers losing. So when they lose, how
big of a you know, not just a disappointment, but
a failure? Is this They spent a billion dollars in
the off season, you know, they added to show, Hey
they won last year.
Speaker 5 (29:28):
Everybody said, it's not fair, this is bad for the
baseball out of the Evil Empire. Well the call off
the season. They were supposed to be the Beatles.
Speaker 6 (29:37):
Uh, this season they wind up being Boy George and
Culture Club.
Speaker 5 (29:42):
But they were supposed to be the Beatles.
Speaker 6 (29:45):
And they get back to the World Series and everybody's
thinking they're gonna win, you know it, in four or
five games.
Speaker 5 (29:50):
They're gonna overmatch everybody. If they lose. This this is
a tremendous failure.
Speaker 4 (29:56):
I mean, yeah, you're you're not wrong. And it feels
weird to be like, yeah, they took the World Series
to six or seven games, and that's a massive failure.
It feels strange to say that, to say that's worse
than that order. It's so so hard to repeat in
this sport.
Speaker 1 (30:11):
It is, it is.
Speaker 5 (30:12):
We talk about it, Levi all the time for people
who don't know.
Speaker 6 (30:18):
No one's repeated in Major League Baseball in twenty five years,
and the last National League team to repeat the seventy
five seventy six Cincinnati Reds.
Speaker 2 (30:29):
Crazy.
Speaker 4 (30:29):
Yeah, So I don't. I just I can't bring myself
to a place where I say that it's a massive failure.
It would be a disappointment for them, but they.
Speaker 6 (30:37):
Spent a lot of money for it just to be
a disappointment, do you know, like Seattle getting to the
World Series and not winning would be disappointment. They have
such a payroll, they went out and spent so much money.
Everybody fully expected them to win. They did, and if
they don't, I think it's a failure.
Speaker 4 (30:56):
I agree with you right up until the very last statement.
I just I can't. I can't bring myself to call
it a failure. No, they listen, if they've gone to
the World eat into the World Series against like a
weak National League I got swept in for like that.
To me, I would have felt like a failure. That
would have been like a team that was not very good.
They've they've been so good this postseason. They they've lost
(31:19):
one game before they got to the World Series. So yeah,
it's it would be disappointing. I can't bring myself to
say that would be exactly a failure. Let's see how
the next you know, a few years ago, you know,
if they win two out of three, if they win
you know, even two, three out of five or six,
I feel like that's still a heck of a run
(31:40):
for any team in the sport.
Speaker 2 (31:41):
Yeah, failure is too definitive for me.
Speaker 6 (31:43):
Failure, failure, capital a usc. I don't put an F
on your paper. I put failures what you put yes
in the youth of our future.
Speaker 2 (31:52):
LEVI. We appreciate you, man, Thanks so much, Thank you, buddy.
Speaker 4 (31:55):
Yeah, of course, take care, guys.

Speaker 3 (35:07):

Speaker 1 (37:09):
Well, MLB, yeah, man, so you got a free card
to get free food and you're complaining. Meanwhile, right now,
there's a family there, a family of four or five.
We said, well, we're never gonna go on another family trip.

Speaker 5 (37:36):

I just had a hard time I had.
Speaker 6 (37:40):
You had a hard time getting up something I flinched
when she said how much it was, and I had
to give it a cap flinched.
Speaker 1 (37:47):
Now, listen, I don't disagree that it's overpriced. I don't
disagree with that you would going to ballparks since Mobi
gipp Mobi was a duck.
Speaker 7 (37:56):
Mobi Mobi Dick was a guppy since Louis, if you're
gonna let you keep that ball parks for forty years
and you acting brand new and surprise that food is
overpriced at ballparks and arenas and stadiums, you know this crazy?
Speaker 6 (38:11):
I just, I just it's a double cheeseburger and fries. Like,
how much does it cost to make that? Probably a dollar?
Speaker 2 (38:19):
But think about rob tickets are eight hundred bucks. I
know where you getting that at. That's for cheap. You

Speaker 5 (38:26):
That's you prize. It's just the principal lover, even though
it's not my money.
Speaker 1 (38:31):

average man, I would have been like, I feel you, no,
but it's all about you.
