You finally lifted my band from the show Man. I'm
glad to be back on some time.
Speaker 1 (02:07):
Never been you never been banned? Are you kidding?
Speaker 3 (02:10):
No?
Speaker 5 (02:10):
No, no, you're thinking of other people. I don't ban people.
I just work here. You know that you keep.
Speaker 8 (02:15):
Talking about Halliburton's dad. Man, I feel like you know
you push me out too.
Speaker 5 (02:20):
See h can't wait. We got a lot to get

Everybody's off except from being Elijah.

Mary Mary.
Speaker 5 (03:07):
So we got a full show for the next three hours.
Get comfortable if you're driving around, driving back home, whatever
in the backyard.
Speaker 1 (03:16):
Still listen to the radio or whatever.
Speaker 5 (03:18):
We're here and we're gonna want to hear from you
as we go forward.
Speaker 1 (03:23):
And Ryan, let's start here. You brought it up a
little bit.
Speaker 5 (03:27):
Tyreese Halliburton's dad was banned from the games by the
Indiana Pacers after he had an incident. And Shaye will
set us up and then we'll get going. All right,
here we go, Shay sweet So Yeah.
Speaker 9 (03:40):
Earlier today, an article came out that Tyle's Halliburn's dad
will be allowed to attend Idiana Pacers games home games
in a suite, beginning with Tuesday's Game four against the
New York Knicks. So that's a pretty big game to start.
John Halliburton has not attended a game after it was
decided he would not attend home or road contest following
an on court confrontation with Bucks forward Giannis on April
(04:02):
twenty ninth, What do you guys think about this?
Speaker 5 (04:04):
All right, I'm gonna go right here Ryan. Of course
he still should be banned. No if ANNs or butts
what he did was heinous from the idea of running
on the court after a game. Should know better. Anybody
(04:25):
else would probably be banned for a long time, if
not life, if they had done the same thing.
Speaker 1 (04:31):
I get it, his son is playing, and.
Speaker 5 (04:34):
You gotta be careful rules or rules, and just because
it's somebody's dad or somebody in that situation, you can't
play favorites. And what was the point on banning him
for a handful of games if you didn't really mean
it and you're bringing him back so quickly, he should
not have been back for the entirety of the postseason.
(04:55):
That's what he lost when he lost his train of
thought for a couple of minutes or whatever it was,
is euphoria of his son winning. And there's gotta be
rules and standards because people will look back at this
for other fans who run out on the field or
the court and say, well, why would I be banned
(05:16):
for life? And somebody else did the same exact thing,
and they were back in five or six games, So
you gotta be careful what you're wishing for. There were
Yankee fans trying to rip the ball out of Mookie
Betts's glove. They were in the stands, Mookie was reaching
in the stands and they were over zealous trying to
knock the ball out. Those guys got banned for life,
(05:38):
I think from Yankee Stadium. They told him they were
season ticket holders. Don't come back. So which one is it?
Do you not want people to run on the court
or in the fee, on the field or whatever, Or
is it okay if you're a family member. If it's okay,
(05:58):
Ryan Hollins, because you're a family member, he never should
have been suspended.
Speaker 8 (06:02):
See that's different, Rob, You set me up. See here's
the thing. I agree with you. It's not okay. And
what he did was dangerous and when he hit the floor,
it was and Rob, you know this. It was a
very emotionally charged time and if and if Gianni's had
a reaction, it would have been something that he would
have never gotten back.
Speaker 3 (06:20):
For the rest of his life.
Speaker 8 (06:21):
Because the reaction, and we saw the males in the palace,
somebody walks upon you with any energy or waving something,
it could flip.
Speaker 3 (06:29):
He could have got decked.
Speaker 5 (06:30):
And one on your list said, maybe he doesn't know
that that's Halliburton's dad, right, I mean does he did
he know? How would he know that that's Halliburton's dad
At this.
Speaker 8 (06:39):
Point, you know, I've been to Indiana and seeing when
we played against the Pacers, my rockets, and you see him.
He's quite noticeable. You know, he speaks, he's he's a
figure in the building. And what he did was dangerous.
He could have got decked. Emotionally, if somebody snaps in
that moment, especially your season's over, your frustrated Damian Lillard's
out with the achilles. I get that part. Now here's
(07:02):
the reality. Would my father have done what he did?
Maybe not, But from an emotional standpoint, parents are unreasonable.
Mister Halliburton is very much involved, and when guys make plays,
there's taunting that goes back and forth. Now, Rob, I'm
not saying it's right, but what I am saying is
that he's not a regular fan and I love what
(07:25):
he's getting.
Speaker 1 (07:26):
But wait a minute, hold on, let me ask you
this thank you to let you finish here's my issue.
Speaker 5 (07:32):
I've been covering the NBA since nineteen eighty seven. I'd
be hard pressed to think of another parent who ran
out on the court in that fashion, I'm telling you,
And that's almost forty years of covering the league.
Speaker 1 (07:46):
If you have some let me know.
Speaker 8 (07:48):
How about this one? Oh about this one? And it
probably happened so long ago that you forgot. And if
I'm not mistaken, Lebron James, Mom, she wasn't on the court. No,
listen to me, Rob, she was on the court.
Speaker 5 (08:00):
She sup underneath the basket, remember it.
Speaker 8 (08:05):
And and her son took a very hard foul and
they had to restrain her.
Speaker 3 (08:10):
She didn't get on the court.
Speaker 8 (08:11):
But what if what if they weren't there to restrain her.
Speaker 5 (08:15):
I'm asking you, Ryan, you played ten years. Give me
another example of somebody.
Speaker 3 (08:20):
I want you to.
Speaker 8 (08:21):
Acknowledge what happened if she got remember it? But what
happened she got sent to the suite. She's still a
tense game.
Speaker 5 (08:28):
She got sent to the with being said, she did
not run on the court, and who was the other one?
Speaker 3 (08:33):
Hold on one? What if she jumped in and grabbed
the player?
Speaker 5 (08:36):
Who was h I'm the coach of the Kings. Now,
I'm just forgetting his name. Whose wife Doug christ Christie's wife, remember,
wanted to fight.
Speaker 1 (08:45):
She's at every game, she would traveled with him. I
don't And is she get a coaching Josh's the coaching
job too. I'm just asking.
Speaker 8 (08:53):
There are moments that happened. It wasn't by any level,
But remember PJ.
Speaker 3 (08:58):
Tucker.
Speaker 8 (08:58):
We all had a smile and a hug because there
were two ut guys and PJ. Tucker and and Durant
and they're going nose and nose and they're boys. And
he looks over Mama said, don't stop hitting my boy
like that.
Speaker 3 (09:12):
I love.
Speaker 1 (09:12):
She didn't go on the court, don't didn't She didn't?
She did not.
Speaker 5 (09:15):
It ain't the same. You remember the bet you just
said it. What could have ensued? What if Yanni's for
a split second, I was like, who is this? And
and throws a punch and a melee like that. The
palace happens as people are on the court. You don't know,
is that fans? Is that somebody's pop? What's going on?
(09:36):
Did security just get breached?
Speaker 3 (09:39):
You don't know? Hear me Rob in the moment, hear
me Rob I'll give you this. You're not wrong.
Speaker 8 (09:45):
But the NBA got this right, and they got this
right because it's an entertainment league.
Speaker 3 (09:50):
Everybody is not fair.
Speaker 8 (09:52):
And Tyre's Halliburton has pushed himself in a position where
he could potentially be and he is one of the faiths.
Speaker 5 (09:58):
Okay, So why spend them at all? Why suspend them
at all? Ryan Holliday, because you have to do something?
Speaker 1 (10:04):
Why suspend Job Moran?
Speaker 3 (10:06):
No? But why suspend John?
Speaker 1 (10:08):
You have for something that's totally different?
Speaker 3 (10:10):
Why is it different? Jo? This had a been in
your time. But did you say job will be done? No?
Speaker 1 (10:16):
But this my point is what did he miss? He missed?
Speaker 5 (10:20):
What like after that thing happened to the next round?
What did he miss two or three games? That's not
a punishment? What punishment? Did they send them to bed
with the cupcakes and milk? That was the punishment. You
gotta go to bed with cupcakes and milk.
Speaker 3 (10:35):
Couldn't ask you this? Wow, Let me ask you this
game one in New York. That shot that haw the
burden hit.
Speaker 1 (10:41):
Yeah, I'm having to New York.
Speaker 3 (10:44):
Don't answer, don't answer. How big was that shot? Pretty
big shot? Right?
Speaker 1 (10:50):
Right?
Speaker 3 (10:51):
He mean he mean, so don't just say it was
one game.
Speaker 8 (10:53):
Now, don't just don't pretend like it was one game
that was a shot for the ages that a father
should be able to enjoy with his sons. Now here's
here's why I stand with you now, mister Halliburton. I
was against the band until he went on the internet
after the game saying that he didn't go to Jannis.
And mister Halliburton has to realize it's not all about
(11:14):
him in their moments that my father, I love him,
I don't have him here today.
Speaker 3 (11:18):
I wish I could hug them.
Speaker 8 (11:19):
I wish I wish I had Halliburton's dad. I wish
I had my dad to hug on too right now too,
but I wish I had my dad to hug.
Speaker 1 (11:27):
But if my dad had done that, I would understand.
Speaker 3 (11:29):
No, I would to you.
Speaker 8 (11:31):
Will send them listen. And here's the treatment he's gonna get.
And this is why I like it. He's gonna get
the Taylor Swift treatment. And if you look at the
Indiana Pacers, they need some life. They didn't have national tymes.
They're more good luck. W NBA team is more covered
than they are.
Speaker 5 (11:48):
That's okay, that's what Let's he get contything covered now.
In the next two weeks when she's out, Let's see
what the coverage is. Hey, people are trying to get
refunds on those tickets, are you kidding?
Speaker 1 (12:00):
And lives in Indianapolis.
Speaker 5 (12:01):
He told me he said he had two tickets for
the for the w NBA team and he left him
on the win shield.
Speaker 1 (12:07):
As soon as she got hurt.
Speaker 5 (12:08):
He came back out of the store and there were
four tickets on his windshield.
Speaker 3 (12:12):
No problem.
Speaker 8 (12:16):
But there, man, I think the NBA got it right.
And here's a reality, Rob, and this is what this
is what you know? You know this better than me.
Speaker 3 (12:23):
Rob. You taught me this. It ain't fair.
Speaker 8 (12:26):
It ain't And maybe Halliburton hitting no shot, skips his
dad a chance to be back.
Speaker 3 (12:31):
You play well, you want your dad back?
Speaker 1 (12:32):
Play well, We want to hear, We want to hear
from you.
Speaker 5 (12:36):

Speaker 1 (12:46):

Speaker 5 (12:49):
Uh Is it cool for them to lift the band
on Tyreese Halliburton's dad and allow him to attend games?
Or no, they're being easy on them, and they're giving
them the store our treatment that he doesn't deserve. Rob

Speaker 5 (13:59):
Don't get coming up the bottom of the hour Tyler
Dragon from USA Today, the NFL Reporter. But right now
we're talking about Tyler Tyre's Halliburton's dad John, who, according
to ESPN, his ban from games will be lifted and
he'll be able to go to Game four in Indianapolis
(14:20):
to see his son play. Ryan Hollins has no issue
whatsoever about the band being lifted. I got a problem
with it. We want to hear from you. Eight seven,
seven ninety nine on Fox. Let's start with Eric in Texas.
You're on the odd couple of Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 1 (14:36):
What's up?
Speaker 3 (14:37):
Eric?
Speaker 10 (14:38):
What's up?
Speaker 6 (14:38):
Ro?
Speaker 11 (14:39):
What's up?
Speaker 7 (14:39):
Ryan?
Speaker 11 (14:39):
How you guys doing?
Speaker 7 (14:40):
Man?
Speaker 1 (14:40):
Hey, what's up? Buddy?
Speaker 7 (14:42):
So Rob, I'm with you, one whole heart of one
thousand percent. Man, I don't care if it's Tarry Tolliverdon's dad, Ryan,
the man pulled up on Giannis, and if Gianni's was
anything less than a love aheaded person who knows would
have happened. And you keep bringing up the Savannah you know,
Lebron's mom want who knows what happens? The problem line
is you said a president with this right, if you
(15:04):
let Tarry.
Speaker 11 (15:04):
Telebert's dad come back, and then if a fan who
fans are crazy, right, if a fancy is that they think,
oh all right, cool, then I can go do whatever
and they'll let the band on me.
Speaker 7 (15:14):
Right.
Speaker 11 (15:14):
You can't do it, man, I'm sorry. He can come
back next to them he should be able.
Speaker 3 (15:17):
To come back the resid SoCal right one.
Speaker 8 (15:20):
Eric Well said he didn't see that shot by Halliburton.
Speaker 3 (15:22):
Apparently he.
Speaker 1 (15:25):
Shot a ch TV at home? Are you kidding?
Speaker 5 (15:28):
Which around sound better than if he was at Madison
Square Garden eight seven, seven ninety nine. On Fox, let's
go to Christy in San Diego. You're in the odd
couple of Fox Sports Radio. What's up, Christy?
Speaker 12 (15:46):
Yeah, so I think it is totally great that they
are lifting the band. We have to take any consideration
that this is his dad and how many sports parents
are out there. We can't let this man miss another game. Yes,
you know he got his slap on the wrist, but
it's time for him to let him back to the game.
Speaker 5 (16:05):
Chris Cye, he has an eighty h TV at home.
W's around sound? He ain't missing nothing in action, It's
not the same.
Speaker 12 (16:11):
In fact, it would be cruel and unusual to keep
him from seeing his child's game.
Speaker 1 (16:19):
All right, there you go, Christy's with you him, Bonnet.
Thanks for the call, Christy.
Speaker 3 (16:23):
Appreciate it and unusual.
Speaker 5 (16:25):
Rob as cool and unusual. Okay, let's go to Andre
in Massachusetts. You're on the odd couple. Of Fox Sportsuadio.
What's up, Dre, Hey, what's going on?
Speaker 11 (16:35):
Thanks taking the call.
Speaker 13 (16:36):
Happy Memorial Day, Happy happy Monday.
Speaker 11 (16:39):
Yes I do.
Speaker 13 (16:40):
I have a problem with this band being lifted. And frankly,
what this comes down to for me is the change
in philosophy from the current commissioner and Adam Silber and
the former commissioner, the late great David Starn who under
his leadership, I don't think it would have seen this. Okay,
you established a rule.
Speaker 12 (16:56):
You have to maintain that rule.
Speaker 13 (16:58):
They have to feel okay, the force of what you're
talking about, and in terms of the whole parents and
their kids play the game. I'm a sports fanatic, I referee.
I understand you know what it is and you want
to be there, But that doesn't mean you run up
on the court and get in the faith of the
former MVP and NBA champion and do something completely out
of character, unsportsman like and borderline illegal. That's why he's suspended.
(17:20):
He's not suspended because of some arbitrary ruling. And we
want to keep tying.
Speaker 5 (17:24):
Remember this is the Pacers, not the NBA. I think
that they jumped in front of the NBA to ban them,
So they're the ones who handed down the penalty.
Speaker 1 (17:32):
I just want to make sure we're clear on that.
Speaker 13 (17:34):
Okay, So point point taking Rob, But if i'm if
I'm Adam Silver above this, I know we kind of
had a different management style and he wants to allow
for these things and get but you know that type
of it's not He's suspended for a reason, and what
he did was all the way out of line and
missing the majority of this NBA playoffs, never mind an
in definite suspension I thought was reasonable. So they rolled
(17:58):
this back, And what that says is next time some
fanatic I want to act like a lunatics, then they
can go out there and do the same thing and
we'll have, you know, we'll we'll punish you, you know,
but then we're gonna you know, put a kick gloatings
on and then you can come back and do the
same type of fool stick. So I think it's at
a bad precedent, UH, to spend for this year and
then come back next year with your mind right.
Speaker 11 (18:17):
Thanks taking the call, no doubt.
Speaker 5 (18:18):
Drey appreciated eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox. Uh,
Jason in Texas, you're on the odd couple of Fox
Sports Radio.
Speaker 1 (18:26):
What's up, Jason?
Speaker 12 (18:27):
Oh doing good man?
Speaker 13 (18:29):
I got to quit.
Speaker 14 (18:30):
As long as there's four privileges are revoked. I don't
have a problem with him letting him back in the arena.
Speaker 15 (18:36):
But I got a question for you.
Speaker 5 (18:38):
Yeah, he's gonna be in the suite now. I guess
it's not as close. He'd have to take the elevator
down first Ryan before he can run out on the court.
Speaker 16 (18:45):
I'm just saying that.
Speaker 15 (18:46):
I got a question.
Speaker 14 (18:47):
Could the could the Knicks keep him from enter in
the garden?
Speaker 5 (18:51):
Uh No, if he has a ticket, how the Knick's
gonna stop him? I mean, like maybe that's that's.
Speaker 3 (18:57):
The same thing.
Speaker 5 (18:58):
No, the suspension is from the Pacers that he was
banned by the Patiers, not by the NBA.
Speaker 14 (19:03):
But but but do you think No?
Speaker 3 (19:06):
I don't.
Speaker 1 (19:07):
I don't because I think they did.
Speaker 3 (19:09):
I think they did. It's just it's a handshake deal.
Speaker 8 (19:12):
You gave him a little time out, a little slap
on the wrist till Hollibert hit that shot.
Speaker 3 (19:15):
That's what I think happened. Yes, slap on the risk.
Speaker 5 (19:17):
Thanks Jason, appreciate it. How about Michael in Miami? You're
on the odd couple of Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 6 (19:25):
What's up, Michael, gentlemen, good eating me and good after that?
Speaker 5 (19:29):
Yes, and thanks for being here with us live on
Memorial Day.
Speaker 14 (19:33):
Thank you.
Speaker 15 (19:33):
And I was just going to bring that up and
just my thanks and thoughts for all the veterans that
have served us. And then Rob, I'm gonna have.
Speaker 6 (19:42):
To agree with you, I think, I mean, I don't know,
immaturity whatever the man should have not gone to I mean,
Joannis showed such constraints.
Speaker 1 (19:55):
He sure did.
Speaker 15 (19:56):
Oh my goodness, give me a break. And unfortunately where
we are now is it's like the clan we have
in the White House that that that lets all this.
No one's responsible for anything.
Speaker 1 (20:09):
Everybody gets off, no doubt, nobody. Everybody gets off.
Speaker 15 (20:13):
I mean they let you know. Look at January sixth,
they let you know.
Speaker 17 (20:16):
They I don't want to go right right, we don't
want to get into the politics of that, but I
get your point right, we're living, we'll live in a
world now where people they put out a punishment, Ryan
and then they roll it back after a few Oh
feel bad.
Speaker 3 (20:29):
That's what it shouldn't have to mean that, That's what
it definitely.
Speaker 1 (20:32):
Means that wasn't definite. That was a week? What was that?
Speaker 3 (20:35):
That was four games? Rob? You represent me?
Speaker 8 (20:38):
What if you came somewhere and you did something obnoxious
I shouldn't.
Speaker 1 (20:41):
Yeah, I would have to understand it. Thanks for that.
Speaker 3 (20:44):
Rob Harker's with Brian hollins Man. Am I you know
that guy?
Speaker 1 (20:48):
No, it'd be like, oh my god, Rob, you embarrassed me?
One quick, one real quick? Uh?
Speaker 5 (20:54):
Taylor in Iowa, you're on the odd couple of Fox
Sports Radio.
Speaker 1 (20:57):
What's up? Taylor?
Speaker 14 (21:00):
And so I know that's a different sport, but dom
from the security guard when he actually hit a green
Swaw I think is his name, and he was only
suspended four games and the dad did miss the whole
series of Cleveland.
Speaker 5 (21:17):
Okay, okay, But to me, originally he was going to
be indefinitely. It just seems pretty short. And I just
we've seen it happen running running on the court, no
running on the concrete.
Speaker 3 (21:31):
He that's even worse.
Speaker 1 (21:33):
Comes to the call there. We know what the details
of that. I can't believe.
Speaker 5 (21:39):
Contact and he just got four games for hitting a player.
Speaker 3 (21:42):
Come on, because I told him he loved him. When
he walked away, they said he loved all right, he did.
He said, I love you. I love you too.
Speaker 5 (21:51):
Unbelievable. I you know the paper soft NBA. Any anything goes,
everything goes. That's how it is now.
Speaker 3 (21:59):
John rt not play anymore.
Speaker 5 (22:01):
I didn't say that penalty. He would keep spending over
the line, and he keeps getting suspended. I mean, I
don't know. I think they've suspended him along.
Speaker 3 (22:09):
Bring him back, just like Halliburton's dad.
Speaker 5 (22:11):
Come all right, eight uh coming up next, we're gonna
talk with Tyler Dragon USA NFL UH. Reporter will do that,
but first let's get you caught up. Martin Weiss is
at the anchor death.
Speaker 18 (22:24):
Just the last caller ignored the fact that Big Donald
was at work.
Speaker 16 (22:28):
He was supposed to be on the sidelines.
Speaker 5 (22:30):
Just for the record, That's there's a big difference between
running out.
Speaker 1 (22:33):
That's what I'm saying.
Speaker 5 (22:34):
I didn't I didn't buy a story about the idea
that he ran out of the stands and hit somebody
and got four games.
Speaker 1 (22:40):
Yeah, I mean, it was just now what happened?
Speaker 5 (22:43):
Ryan, You ain't talking now right because that story didn't
make sense.
Speaker 8 (22:46):
I'm just saying, if we're good, if John Moran's gonna
be back playing. Halliburton come back.
Speaker 16 (22:56):
Yeah, he should play bass. Was his job.
Speaker 18 (22:58):
John Halliburton can sit on that four K TV. I'm
sure he's got it home walking out onto the court show.
Hal Tany hit his nineteen tom run lead in the
league earlier today.
Speaker 5 (23:08):
Think well, he got twenty one rbs. I'm just saying,
let's see, you know what, that's weird. It takes that
many for whatever reason, it doesn't have it in the
box score. But he's definitely got one today. All right,
it would be his because he hit lead off today.
Speaker 16 (23:21):
I'll get that. I'll get that number for you. Three
to one.
Speaker 18 (23:24):
The Dodgers right now lead the Guardian's top of the
fifth inning show.
Speaker 16 (23:27):
He also threw BP yesterday.
Speaker 18 (23:29):
But let's see Twin and the Rags right now they're
playing bottom of the second inning, scoreless between those two
with two outs. Now a ton of games today with
the being Memorial Day. The Giants beat the Tigers, I'm sorry.
Tigers beat the Giants three to one. Brewers over Red
Sox three to two. The Cubs beat the Rockies three
to one. The Orioles got a rare home win. This
is only their ninth on the year, so far beating
(23:50):
the Cardinals five to two, Blue Jays over the Rangers
two to one, and Mets over the.
Speaker 16 (23:55):
White Sox two to one. Reds over Royals seven to four.
Speaker 18 (23:59):
Getting ready here for Western Conference Finals Game four that
tips eight thirty. Eastern Oklahoma City leads two to one
in the series. The game being played in Minnesota. The
Eastern Conference Finals Game four, That puck will drop in
about thirty minutes. The Hurricanes looking to avoid getting swept
by the defending Stanley Cup champion of Florida Panthers and
Caitlyn Clark will miss a minimum of two weeks with
(24:21):
the left calf strain.
Speaker 16 (24:23):
She'll be evaluated after that. She injured herself.
Speaker 5 (24:26):
You hear that dropping those of w n B, a
of TV ratings towards I mean reports unconfirmed that they're
going to cancel the league until she comes back.
Speaker 16 (24:35):
That's when I went down back to you guys.
Speaker 1 (24:37):
Thank you hit it, Ryan Hollands.
Speaker 5 (24:40):
What I'm just saying it is the odd couple on
a Memorial Day.
Speaker 1 (24:45):
Yes, we're live.
Speaker 5 (24:46):
Rob Parker, Ryan Hollins, my main man.
Speaker 3 (24:49):
Man.
Speaker 1 (24:49):
We haven't done the show together in a while.
Speaker 3 (24:51):
Finally my band got lifted. You lifted my band, But
you don't know how the birds down to come back. Man.
I bit like I haven't done the Couple of two.
It hasn't been that long.
Speaker 8 (25:01):
Last time I did it, Chris was here and you
guys were just starting to show.
Speaker 3 (25:05):
We were.
Speaker 1 (25:07):
That would be seven years then. Allo, we've been on.
Speaker 3 (25:10):
We were in person. We did the show person.
Speaker 1 (25:14):
All right.
Speaker 5 (25:15):
Now, let's welcome in our next guest. Uh, Tyler Dragon.
He is the USA Today NFL reporter. He joins us
here on the Odd Couple. Thanks Tyler. On Memorial Day,
say hi to Ryan Hollins.
Speaker 1 (25:28):
What's up?
Speaker 12 (25:29):
Well?
Speaker 10 (25:30):
First of all, almost tongue up when he said the
WNBA radius, but don't drop Clark. That was the funny joke.
But come on, man, like the eighth Isle, love the Liberty.
There's some really good WNB player NBA players outside of Kaylin.
Speaker 1 (25:44):
Clark, no, no doubt.
Speaker 5 (25:46):
But there's a lot of sections available to at those
games with the average five.
Speaker 1 (25:49):
Or six talents.
Speaker 10 (25:51):
Oh my goodness that.
Speaker 1 (25:52):
I'm just keeping it real Ryan. You know that do
they have a team at Houston? Oh no, that they're
gone right.
Speaker 10 (25:59):
I can't believe you.
Speaker 8 (26:00):
I can I'm not what's what's up Ryan, my Seal,
my brother, thank you to thank you.
Speaker 3 (26:05):
For coming on. Man. I appreciate you here.
Speaker 5 (26:09):
Uh, no doubt, uh obviously, Uh. I want to start
here with Shador Sanders and OTA's and you know there
was some praise there by Cleveland's coach and what's going forward.
But still on the depth chart, he can't be hired
in three I mean to start at least. Do you
really expect him to leap frog over everybody and be
(26:30):
the starter or is this uh not realistic?
Speaker 14 (26:35):
So I do.
Speaker 10 (26:36):
I think he's their best quarterback in their depth chart.
I mean that's not saying much when you have injured
Deshaun Watson, a knty picket of Joe Flacco, and then
Dylan Gabriel. Now will it be right away? Probably not,
But to me, it's going to happen organically, maybe after
the second or third preseason game. Now it's going to
be up to Shador though. If he gets that starting job,
(26:58):
he'll have earned it because the Browns aren't doing him
any favors. He's been getting back up reps behind Dylan Gabriel,
behind the Knnies picket, in behind the Joe Flacco when
they're doing their off season workouts, so he's gonna have
to be able to earn it. But when I've seen
Chador Sanders, especially unfilm and practice, to me, it's just
(27:21):
it's hard for me to believe that any other quarterback
on the Browns roster it's better than him.
Speaker 1 (27:27):
Might have been.
Speaker 5 (27:28):
I mean, Tyler, the Browns passed on him five times,
like oh yeah, you know, it was almost like a
humble pick.
Speaker 1 (27:35):
I mean, it's unbelievable how many times. How shocking was
that that they even picked him?
Speaker 10 (27:41):
Well, it was shocking that he was a fifth round pick,
but a lot a lot went into that. I mean,
I did a story and then they got USA today
that I mean, there was a Dion Sanders effect. There
was an effect that he gets a lot of limelight
and a lot of publicity.
Speaker 3 (27:57):
How about that he.
Speaker 1 (27:58):
Wasn't prepared as some of the NBA when he met
with the coaches and staff.
Speaker 10 (28:02):
That affected him too. But however, on the field, when
you look at his production, when you look at his play,
he was the second best quarterback in this year's draft
class behind Cam Woard. I don't think there will be
many so why won't.
Speaker 3 (28:16):
He be the starter?
Speaker 5 (28:17):
Why do you not believe he's going to be the
starter from day one?
Speaker 1 (28:20):
If he's that good?
Speaker 16 (28:21):
Tyler?
Speaker 1 (28:21):
Seriously, I won't.
Speaker 10 (28:24):
I just said he's going to be the starter. I
just said he's not going to be the starter.
Speaker 5 (28:28):
But why not if he's But if he's better than
all of those, you should say, and maybe you should
write this column that he will be the starter when
the season starts.
Speaker 10 (28:37):
No, Rob, Rob, you didn't listen to me. I did
say that. I said that he's going to have to
prove himself, and I think by the third preseason game
he'll have earned a starting job. I don't think when
the preseason starts he'll be the starter, but when time
whereas on by week one, I would be surprised if
he's not just started. Considering the Browns quarterback depth charts.
Speaker 3 (28:58):
Now, Tyler, as best you can, can you help me
make some sense of this? So Darryl just set the
third is saying that as now this Olympic sport, if
flag football.
Speaker 8 (29:09):
Our football players can play. He said he's better than
Patrick Mahome. Now this is flag football. Tyler's best you
can And you know, I'm kind of cold when it
comes with flag football too, you know what I'm saying.
But but should he should he be the starter over Patrick?
Is there some validity now he's now keep in.
Speaker 1 (29:26):
Mind, well Patrick might throw an interception or two in flag.
Speaker 8 (29:29):
Oh my god, don't go hate on my homes here,
don't don't don't go doing that. But keep in mind
dere D said he's five to seven about one point forty.
So Tyler, help me make some sense of this. Not
you Rob, let him talk, Please leave it to the professionals.
Speaker 3 (29:41):
Man.
Speaker 10 (29:44):
Now there there is some validity because I'll say this,
flag football and tackle football are totally different. Mean I
can go out there and play flag football too and
be very pretty good at it. Now I can't be
pretty good at the NFL right now. However, when you
talk about a Patrick Mahomes playing quarterback means he's the
(30:04):
best quarterback you and in my opinion, ever, when you
look at God, when you look at his style of
play and his ability to pass and not only scramble,
he's the best quarterback. Now he's not that doesn't have
the best resume, but he's the best quarterback ever.
Speaker 1 (30:22):
Might stretch.
Speaker 10 (30:27):
When it comes to flag football, they're going to have
to prove them I mean, the NFL said they're going
to have to make make the team, and then they're
going to have to prove that their Olympians just like
everybody else, they're not going to be getting favoritism like it,
and nobody gets favoritism when it comes to Olympic trials.
So we shall see. But in my opinion, it's probably
(30:49):
going to be a player like a Patrick Mahomes, a
player like a Justin Jefferson and for so one and
these flag football players, they're going to have to prove
that they're better than these NFL guys. That's flag football,
mind you. NFL players play flag football in the Pro
Bowl games a lot of times. In elementary school and
junior high school. They don't have tackle football, they have
(31:09):
flag football, so they're kind of accustomed to the flag
football game as well.
Speaker 5 (31:14):
All right, I want to ask you, since you the
knower of all quarterbacks and you know the quarterbacks, Justin
Fields is going to be a star if for the
New York Jets or is he just a holding place
until they decide what they're gonna do for a quarterback
next year?
Speaker 10 (31:29):
Okay, that's a big gap a star and.
Speaker 5 (31:31):
I'm reading that he's going to be a star. He's
finally going to be with somebody who wants him, and
he's got all these weapons. That's what I'm reading. So
I'm asking you, it's going to be a star with
the Jets. Some people are saying that Jets are making
the playoffs because of him, justin fields and with the weapons.
I'm asking, where's he going to be?
Speaker 10 (31:52):
I think he's going to be a pretty good starting
quarterback for the Jets. Now, will he be a star, No,
but he will play already caliber quarterback football for the Jets.
I don't have the Jets making the playoffs. The Bills
are the kings of that division. I don't foresee that changing.
And then keep in mind, the Patriots has gotten a
lot better this offseason with all the acquisitions that they
(32:16):
have done with Mike Rabols for James. So I think
the Jets are probably third, if not fourth, in that division.
That's just because the AFCAS is going to be pretty
good this season.
Speaker 5 (32:26):
All right, real quick, Right, I got the last question,
real quick, rock go ahead, real quick, real quick, and
someone Ian O'Connor, the former newspaper columnists and author, laid
out the whole Aaron Rodgers scenario that basically he didn't
want to sign with the with the Steelers early and
(32:47):
then have to miss OTAs going through some things in
his life, and that.
Speaker 1 (32:51):
He will eventually sign once that's over.
Speaker 5 (32:54):
So this way, he doesn't become the distraction of missing
OTAs and people having to make a big deal about it.
Speaker 1 (33:00):
Have you heard any of that? And do you expect
him to be with the Steelers? We got one minute.
Speaker 10 (33:05):
I do expect him to be with the Steelers today.
I would keep in mind is when the Steelers start
mini camp. I believe that's going to be June tenth.
So in my opinion, Aaron Rodgers is going to be
his first steel is going to announce it probably the
first week of June, and that means he's most likely
going to miss the first portion of OTA.
Speaker 1 (33:25):
Yeah, that's what they're saying.
Speaker 5 (33:26):
That makes sense now, and why the Steelers haven't panicked
right like people are like, what are they doing?
Speaker 1 (33:31):
They don't have a quarterback?
Speaker 5 (33:32):
But I think that they feel confident that that's going
to happen all right.
Speaker 1 (33:35):
His name is.
Speaker 5 (33:36):
Tyler Dragon from USA Today, an NFL reporter, talented writer.
I don't know about this quarterbacking. But other than that,
we appreciate you on this Memorial Day. Thank you Tyler.
Speaker 10 (33:50):
Of course, happy Memorial Day, have a good one.
Speaker 3 (33:52):
Thank you for the logic, Tyler, appreciate it.
Speaker 1 (33:53):
There you go, what you're talking about for the logic.
Speaker 8 (33:56):
All right, he's forgotten more football than we hope.
Speaker 7 (33:58):
No.
Speaker 1 (34:00):
All right?
Speaker 5 (34:00):
Coming up next, check Go City and I was red
hot on Friday.
Speaker 1 (34:05):
We'll talk about what I did that and much more.
Speaker 5 (34:08):
It is the odd couple on a Magic City Monday.

I'm sorry about that.
Speaker 5 (34:38):
It is the odd couple on a Magic City Monday,
Ryan Hollins.
Speaker 3 (34:43):
Rob Ken goes for this man.
Speaker 1 (34:45):
What's that was away?
Speaker 3 (34:47):
Kelvin?
Speaker 1 (34:47):
It's a Magic City Monday.
Speaker 3 (34:49):
Oh God, I know Kelvin personally. Man, there's no way
Kelvin goes.
Speaker 1 (34:55):

Speaker 19 (35:24):
Towns between the legs, dribble up tops, snatched back three
pointers straight on, nailed it shot from Karl Anthony Towns.
An unbelievable to or die fourth quarter from Towns.
Speaker 1 (35:35):
He has twenty points.
Speaker 19 (35:37):
In the last seven minutes at the next lead ninety
four to ninety.
Speaker 1 (35:41):
There you go yesterday, save the next season.
Speaker 5 (35:44):
Basically twenty points in the fourth quarter, which match what
the Pacers had. Unbelievable Ryan there. But first let's do this.
It's time for Shekel City. All right, here we go
Shekel City. On Friday, I was three and oh. That
brings my total to one thirty eight and one thirty seven.
Tonight I got the Minnesota Timberwolves at home. They're underdogs.
(36:08):
I'm taking Minnesota plus two.
Speaker 1 (36:10):
And a half.
Speaker 5 (36:10):
That's my best bet. I have the Yankees minus one
and a half runs. They're in Anaheim taking on the Angels,
and I got the Padres minus one and a half runs.
They're hosting the Marlins in San Diego. So again, Padres
minus one and a half, Yankees minus one and a half,
and the t Wolves plus two and a half. And remember, Ryan,
(36:34):
I'm not telling you who to bet on. I'm telling
you who I bet on. All right, Ryan, help me
out here. You're the NBA expert. You play ten seasons
in the NBA. You know it backwards and forwards. Give
me the preview with the Thunder t Wolves. The t
Wolves are the underdog. So Vegas is betting that the
(36:59):
thunderbounce back from that humiliating Game three loss.
Speaker 3 (37:02):
Where are you The reason they feel that way is
because it's scary and it was.
Speaker 8 (37:06):
A lot of fools gold and the score got to
forty probably felt like fifty or sixty.
Speaker 3 (37:11):
They just tapped out. And again, here's the thing.
Speaker 8 (37:14):
You don't see the shooting cons consistency from Minnesota and
the Thunder They can't do anything but play better and
with the worst thing they did.
Speaker 3 (37:24):
And this is the story of the season. Grob.
Speaker 8 (37:26):
If you can look at the stat sheet, folks at home,
look at the turnovers. Both teams thrive off turnovers, and
Oklahoma City turned the ball over. They were in a row.
They didn't show up to play. And if we don't
know anything, we know that they're gonna play better. And
the challenge is, can you got Minnesota's offense going from
their defense? You gotta assume Oklahoma City is not going
(37:46):
to turn the basketball over. And the challenges is Minnesota
gonna be able to score enough points? Is Anthony Edwards
gonna make that extra pass? Is they're gonna be Rob.
I heard you talk about this, the flow in their offense,
so as we look for it, me personally, I think
Minnesota takes care of business. This is still considered an
elimination game at.
Speaker 1 (38:05):
The end, So you say Minnesota's gonna win, I think.
Speaker 3 (38:07):
They take care of business.
Speaker 8 (38:09):
I think they're going to have to grind it out,
and I think a little home cooking comes into favor.
But again, watch the turnovers. That'll be the biggest indicator
that you see. Because Oklahoma City's offense ain't great. There
wasn't no surprise. Their offense isn't great.
Speaker 1 (38:22):
Rob no, and let me ask you this.
Speaker 5 (38:24):
You know, people are getting to watch SGA closer obviously
on a bigger stage. There's only four teams playing, right,
and they're seeing all the flopping and all the other stuff,
and now people are just like, oh god, just bad
to watch. Is he within his rights? He's getting all
the calls send them to the line, But esthetically it
(38:45):
just doesn't look good, does it.
Speaker 3 (38:48):
No, it's the reality. It's not a good look for
the league.
Speaker 8 (38:51):
It isn't because you feel like he's getting over But
at the end of the day, he's playing the game
the right way. And as a veteran you're able to
come in and both teams are relatively extremely young. But
as a veteran, you go into those games and you're
playing those guys and you play with the correct discipline.
When you had to play against a prime James Harden,
when you had to play against certain guys, Dwayne Wade
(39:14):
was a foul merchant. He doesn't get the same credit.
Maybe he doesn't pull the arm or throw the head back,
but there are several times, actually, nah man, Dwayne Wade
would run to the rim. There was one time he
jumped in the air. Nobody touching me. He just fell
on the floor of the referees with life.
Speaker 3 (39:29):
I remember. I'll never forget I played against the Wayne
in the playoffs.
Speaker 8 (39:32):
But those guys, when you guard them, you got to
keep your hands out the cookie jar.
Speaker 3 (39:36):
You have to stay disciplined and show bodies to them. Right.
Why are you making that face when I'm telling you
that man player.
Speaker 8 (39:41):
Michael Jordan, Your Michael Jordan was a foul merchant too.
Speaker 1 (39:45):
Okay, like this.
Speaker 3 (39:48):
Touch them? We love Mike the game all right?
Speaker 5 (39:54):
Coming up, the Knicks are still going to lose the series.
I'll tell you why it is. The couple Rob Parker right,
Holland stick and stay
