plenty of stuff going on.

Speaker 6 (01:54):
Well, all right, Chris, that's that's the word of the day.

Speaker 4 (01:58):
My god, I guess so.

Speaker 7 (02:01):
Well.

Speaker 1 (02:02):
We've talked about this before though, we've talked about the
gambling aspect, and once the leagues have gotten involved, you
know what I mean with the gambling part, this is
gonna be Yes.

Speaker 5 (02:11):
We're gonna get to this in a in a moment,
Let's introduce the I Couple crew and then get the
party started. The super producer Rob g is in the
house running things on the ones and twos. Our man
Mark Ramsey in for DJ Alex tight shirt on the
updates you just heard him, Steve de Sager and on

(02:34):
the social media Sagar Patel.

Speaker 4 (02:37):
Sagar, welcome back to the I Couple.

Speaker 5 (02:41):
We got Antonio Daniels NBA Champion coming on at the
bottom of this hour. He'll update this on the New
Orleans Pelicans and all things in be a basketball. But Rob,
we gotta start with what you alluded to earlier, just
a moment ago, the uh scandal that potentially could rock

(03:05):
Major League Baseball. Show hel Tani the best player in
the league, or certainly one of them, and arguably even
the face or one of the faces of the league.
His interpreter, good friend of his, has been fired. It
was happened last week because he stole four and a

(03:29):
half million dollars from Otani to payoff games allegedly allegedly, yes, allegedly,
thank you, to pay off gambling debts and show hal
Tani spoke today, not too long ago, just within the
last hour or so, and do we have some sound
of it, Rob J.

Speaker 1 (03:47):
Yeah, Well he just read a press release, Crystal. He
didn't really take questions. It wasn't a real press prize,
but he did have a statement.

Speaker 5 (03:55):
So we are waiting on that. We don't have it
for you yet. But Rob, did you watch it live?
Whatre your thoughts?

Speaker 1 (04:02):
I saw it and basically denied everything that he didn't
he didn't bet on baseball, he didn't make a bet
on anything, and that he was he was robbed by
his good friend and interpreter, and that he didn't know
anything that was going on. Chris, they were taking four
and a half million dollars or whatever it is out

(04:23):
of his accountant.

Speaker 6 (04:23):
He had no idea.

Speaker 1 (04:28):
I got to you know what, Andrew Brandt, who we've
had on Chris. You saw the tweet by him, No
that I said, Okay, you didn't look at your phone.

Speaker 6 (04:35):
I did send it. But let me just I think
this is spot on. I really do.

Speaker 1 (04:39):
And I'm not saying that old Tani bet on baseball
or anything Chris, but it's hard for me to believe
like he has no knowledge.

Speaker 6 (04:46):
Of any of this.

Speaker 1 (04:47):
And Andrew brand of course, was a executive with the
Packers and has been on the show. He tweeted this,
either old Tani is not telling the truth or has
the worst christ Us you ready, colon, best friend, interpreter, manager, accountant, agent,

(05:09):
bank in history.

Speaker 6 (05:13):
Yeah? Yeah.

Speaker 1 (05:14):
Think about all these things that had to go wrong
for him not or for people not looking out for him,
for him to.

Speaker 6 (05:21):
Be involved in this.

Speaker 1 (05:23):
Like, it's not just you and one other person. There's
a bank that noted for Chris. A certain amount of
money comes out of your account, the bank calls you
or alert you, right, everybody, you got an agent who's
supposed to overlook you got an accountant. Why is this
five hundred thousand dollars coming out of your account. That's

(05:43):
what an accountant'll do or your manager.

Speaker 4 (05:45):
What is this?

Speaker 5 (05:47):
And he obviously did not, I mean, nobody was able
to ask him a question, and obviously we don't like that.

Speaker 4 (05:54):
Route, which is I get.

Speaker 5 (05:57):
You know, he's obviously English is the second language, and
I'm sure his legal team they probably.

Speaker 4 (06:04):
Don't want him to answer questions anyway round.

Speaker 5 (06:06):
I get that maybe with the language difference, maybe he
says something you know, that he doesn't mean to say,
or you know what I mean, I get that, as
frustrating as it may be, but I understand that from
his size perspective, I don't know this.

Speaker 6 (06:27):
This story is just taken on so many things. Chris.
I'm not saying that.

Speaker 1 (06:34):
He bet on baseball because that because that's the biggest thing.
And I think the other part is in the state
of California, and what what is that issue for him?
Chris is the illegal bookie and you know it's against
the law in Los in California, and I lost it
in California to gamble. So that's why he has to
really distance himself from that, because if he were to

(06:58):
admit to that, that that's you you've broken the law.

Speaker 6 (07:04):
And then there's the other wire fraud.

Speaker 5 (07:05):
If interpreter or ex interpreter was doing it, he also was,
you know, he was would be aware that he was
breaking the law and kind of serving as an accountlice
and all of that.

Speaker 6 (07:19):
We do have sound, Chris, let's throw to it.

Speaker 4 (07:21):
Let's there's some sound.

Speaker 8 (07:22):
MATI.

Speaker 7 (07:43):
So I never bet on baseball any other sports, or
never have asked somebody to do it on my behalf,
and I have never went through a book maker, uh
to bet on.

Speaker 3 (07:55):
Sports, Makudiga.

Speaker 8 (08:00):
So up until a couple of days ago, I didn't
know that this was happening. He and Nanny.

Speaker 7 (08:26):
Just to kind of just go over the result. Uh
in conclusion, it has been stealing money from my account
and has told lies.

Speaker 6 (08:37):
What are you? Where are you?

Speaker 1 (08:38):
Chris just just on the idea that he he says
he knows absolutely nothing and he was robbed. They they
that that his interpreter stole the money from him.

Speaker 5 (08:49):
Well, this is why it would have been nice to
get somebody to ask a question, because you know, how
did did did your interpreter have.

Speaker 4 (08:58):
Your bank account number and all that you know?

Speaker 9 (09:01):
Do you have access to your your logins, your hi everything,
and even if you did, I guess it's possible to
you know, hack in there, I guess, but you know,
was the interpreter of that skilled and you know what
I mean?

Speaker 4 (09:18):
Like we know all that to Chris.

Speaker 6 (09:20):
Let me let me ask you this as a reporter.
Let me ask you this. And he addressed it, which
was really good.

Speaker 1 (09:27):
In the in the in the in the press release.
What would have been if if you got a chance
to ask him a question? What would have been the
first question you would have asked? I asked my baseball
writing class this today and talking about this, I'm just curious,
what question, Chris would you ask as the first question

(09:52):
if you got one question to ask him?

Speaker 4 (09:54):
Man, there's so many.

Speaker 5 (09:56):
I think what I just asked, what I just said
probably would have been my first. You know, how did
how did he get your How do you think he
got into your bank account and was able to you know,
send all that money?

Speaker 4 (10:14):
Uh in your name?

Speaker 6 (10:17):
We do have sound now bet on baseball, Chris?

Speaker 1 (10:20):
Another question there you go, Let me tell you that
that would have been number one for me, because I
need to paint you into a corner as we before
we go forward like that's because that's the most damage
that can be done to him, do you know what
I mean? Chris, So that's gotta be like did you
bet on baseball?

Speaker 4 (10:37):
Show?

Speaker 7 (10:37):
Hey?

Speaker 6 (10:38):
Did you bet on baseball? Because the other stuff.

Speaker 1 (10:40):
Chris, you know, you can work through and it's not
gonna wreck you. But but the but if he's the
baseball did you bet on baseball? We've already seen Pete
Rose's name and legacy ruined, you know what I mean?
And and it would be a big stain if that
comes out, and I'd want to hear him say no, no,
I never bet on baseball.

Speaker 4 (11:01):
Obviously what he's gonna say, right.

Speaker 1 (11:03):
But but but but to get him on the record
stating that.

Speaker 5 (11:07):
You know, and you also ribe a critical question is
why initially did your team say that you knew what
was going on?

Speaker 4 (11:19):
Stories?

Speaker 6 (11:19):
Definitely like that.

Speaker 1 (11:21):
That would be definitely another one in there, Chris, absolutely
like what you said, Uh, how did he get to
how did he get your money?

Speaker 4 (11:30):
Why?

Speaker 1 (11:31):
Why has the story changed from what they told the
ESPN like that that.

Speaker 4 (11:35):
That was just your story.

Speaker 6 (11:37):
The story changed, Like like what what happened there?

Speaker 4 (11:41):
Boy?

Speaker 6 (11:42):
What a mess? What a mess?

Speaker 4 (11:43):
It really is a mess?

Speaker 5 (11:44):
Rob and I don't know if you've talked to people
around baseball, but what is if you know, or maybe
you've talked to people who have some baseball reporters, But
I feel.

Speaker 4 (11:56):
This really is a downer.

Speaker 5 (12:00):
I mean, obviously, if he did something, if you bet
on baseball, it's just horrible. But I mean the in
terms of it taken away from Opening Day, no doubt,
and it really was probably one of the most stars
study teams in recent memory.

Speaker 1 (12:14):
I was on MLB Now with Brian Kenny today on
MLB Network and we talked about it, and I did
what you just said. It's a distraction. It's the worst
possible way you want to start this season with the Dodgers,
who are supposed to be like the Beatles this year,
Chris right, Like ticket sales for Dodger games all over

(12:37):
the country or through the roof, like when they come
to town, people were buying tickets no matter what stadium
or whoever they were playing.

Speaker 6 (12:46):
And then for this to count.

Speaker 1 (12:47):
And I'm not saying that this is a buzzkill on everything,
because it could come out after an investigation that there
is no evidence of him betting on baseball, and then
that would that part would move away that cloud, right,
you know what I mean?

Speaker 3 (13:01):
And that's the biggest.

Speaker 5 (13:02):
Class, the main thing, And it'd be great if he had.
He said he's.

Speaker 4 (13:06):
Not hasn't been on any sporting events.

Speaker 5 (13:09):
Hopefully that's the case, right, hopefully, because if he had,
if he's bet on other sporting events, Rob and I,
there's nothing wrong with that.

Speaker 4 (13:18):
He's free to do that.

Speaker 5 (13:20):
But in some people's minds, they will wonder about baseball.

Speaker 6 (13:27):
You know, it's just it's just it's just natural. It's
just natural. Chris, we just.

Speaker 1 (13:31):
Saw the story real quick, the NBA Dante I mean Johntay,
the NBA story.

Speaker 5 (13:39):
Yeah, yeah, John Ta porter John told the line up
tonight and subject of an NBA investigation into irregularities on
prop betting involving him. Uh that is uh Toronto Raptors Center.

Speaker 6 (13:55):
And Chris, are you ready for this?

Speaker 1 (13:57):
So his prop bets, so he only played four minutes
that night. Let me see, he only played four minutes,
came out with an aggravated eye, and so all the
prop bets hit for him, which was five and a

(14:18):
half points, four and a half rebounds, and one and
a half assists, and there was also an over they
don't know if he bet on him for Porters made
three pointers, but here it is Chris.

Speaker 6 (14:31):
Yeah, this is what they're investigating.

Speaker 1 (14:33):
But the next day, as a part of the daily
report on users on betting results, DraftKings Sportsbook reported that
the under on Porter's three pointers Chris was the biggest
money winner for betters of any NBA player props from
games that evening. So that's why it became suspicious because

(14:58):
people bet.

Speaker 6 (14:58):
Heavy on there.

Speaker 1 (14:59):
They would be like, why would you be why would
there be such a heavy betting action on that? And
then this guy comes out the game. That's what they
looked for in regularity, like you might bet on something,
but why is it on Johnte Porter and his you
know what I mean? Like that's weird that that they
were big losers of a lot of money.

Speaker 6 (15:19):
He could have told his friends, his family, his boys,
load up.

Speaker 1 (15:24):
I'm not I'm bet the under. I'm gonna come out
the game, you know what I mean? Like you set
it up?

Speaker 5 (15:31):
Rap, And we gotta keep talking about this because we
mentioned it, like have these professional sports leagues just started
something that could wreck shop? I mean it's as simple
as that, right, You got the big if this is
if Showhy did anything wrong basically betting on baseball?

Speaker 7 (15:52):
Rap?

Speaker 4 (15:54):
Is there a big, bigger scandal shoeless Joe Jackson.

Speaker 1 (15:58):
No, not not for not for through the World Series,
but since then?

Speaker 6 (16:02):
No enough for god making seven hundred million dollars Chris No, right?

Speaker 5 (16:06):
And he's international? How do you think I bet you
over in Japan? I mean, they obviously would be disappointed
in him, but what this puts a stating on their
players and their not that it should, but you know
how people are, and he represents Japan and the league

(16:28):
and the players and so and now you.

Speaker 4 (16:31):
Got this situation with the NBA. So A seven seven
ninety nine on Fox.

Speaker 5 (16:36):
You can weigh in on show Hal tiny what'd you
think of his press conference? For lack of a better term,
he released his statement today saying he never bet on baseball.
Do you believe him? How much of a damper is
just putting on baseball? And then you got Joey Porter
Toronto Raptor Center being investigated by the league.

Speaker 4 (16:56):
I'm sorry, John Tay Porter And what are your thoughts
on that?

Speaker 5 (17:00):
And do you think this is unfortunately a sign of
things to come for these professional leagues? Now that they've
gotten in bed with gambling. Your thoughts next, Christ and
Rob the Akap of Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 3 (17:14):

Speaker 1 (18:27):
All right, let's kick it off, Chris with Matt and Charlotte.
You're on the odd couple Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 6 (18:32):
What's up, Matt?

Speaker 2 (18:35):
Hey, guys, Hey, first off, I wanted to say, love
your show, love the topics. So thanks guys, thank you. Hey. Yeah,
you know, I don't know whether Sho Tani you know,
was gambling or not, but it seems like you know
that this could be the biggest thing since you know
Pete Rose, and so I just wanted to get your guys'

(18:56):
thoughts and see if there was any parallels from your perspective.

Speaker 1 (19:01):
Well, I will say, Chris, go ahead if Show if
they bust Show Hay on gambling on baseball, betting on baseball,
they're not gonna be lenient.

Speaker 6 (19:11):
They're gonna throw the book at him. They already did
it to their all time hit leader. And Chris, they're
younger with people. Thank you. That's what I was gonna say.

Speaker 1 (19:19):
Tell people, younger, people who are listen, who are listening,
Pete Rose was an icon. I just hate like people
don't understand you look at that guy now, Chris, and
you go, what like that little guy like what? No,
he was that big in baseball, played on one of
the greatest teams ever, the Big Red Machine.

Speaker 6 (19:39):
This dude was a hitting machine.

Speaker 5 (19:42):
Rob And also, and I was in Cincinnati as a
kid when Pete Rose played. People can't understand how big
he is. He wasn't the number one star in baseball.
Now he was one of them. But baseball was bigger.
It was the national pastime, you know how it was.
You had three channels back then. Essentially when you saw

(20:05):
so players were bigger then.

Speaker 4 (20:08):
I don't know who. I mean, he arguably was bigger.

Speaker 5 (20:11):
You didn't see him as much, which made them even bigger, right.

Speaker 4 (20:15):
What you said, I mean Pete Rose was like.

Speaker 5 (20:19):
It's not now Mookie Betts is probably a bigger star.
I mean, Pete Rose was as big as it gets though,
four thousand hits, Like, I don't think young people who
weren't around are live when he played can understand just
how big he was. Robert he is, like, I mean,
he was one of the game's absolute superstars.

Speaker 6 (20:41):
Big time and that was huge.

Speaker 1 (20:44):
No for him not to be in the Hall of
Fame and the scandal that follow him is it's it's
a shame to be honest, Kevin, Let's squeeze him in
Kevin and Culver City. You're on THEYD couple of Fox
Sports Radio.

Speaker 4 (20:55):
What's up?

Speaker 6 (20:55):
keV?

Speaker 2 (20:56):
Good all the time?

Speaker 11 (20:59):
Brother always look Pete Rose is ulterate og. I met
him in Vegas.

Speaker 12 (21:04):
Great guy.

Speaker 11 (21:05):
I'm glad.

Speaker 12 (21:06):
Show Otani got in front.

Speaker 11 (21:07):
Of it, issued a statement and said he'd never been
on baseball or sports, so he put himself out there.
He's the most polarizing figure since Barry Bonds and get
into the Joss Porter thing. I think the elephant in
the room is fantasy sports. I mean, you can have
guys impact their stats in all types of games that
people are playing. And when you have the Cleveland Cavaliers
coach a bigger staff talk about it, and then you

(21:29):
look at it, it's not the guys making fifty million
dollars a season and see other guys at Yan Rosses
who are impacting games. I think some bigger epidemic going
on in basketball than just one player. It might be
multiple players all around the league.

Speaker 5 (21:42):
So I meant some of these players, you know, you look,
first of all, nobody's making as much money as showhand.
So making somebody amount of money may not be a factor,
but you would think rob some of these players. You know,
these guys are in the league for a year, two years,

(22:02):
three years, you know, not making the big money that
these athletes make.

Speaker 4 (22:08):
But Christ their targets.

Speaker 1 (22:10):
And here's the other thing you can put your family
and friends on. Do you know what I mean? Like like,
you got a boy who's who's trying. He got twenty thousand.
I'll help you double that, Chris. I'll bet twenty thousand
on my under on threes. All right, it's five tonight.

(22:31):
I will not hit five, right.

Speaker 4 (22:34):
No, it's so easy.

Speaker 5 (22:36):
And you know we remember the points shaving scandals in college,
and you know they figured out when some guys were
shaving points.

Speaker 4 (22:43):
But man, a misshot.

Speaker 5 (22:45):
Here or there, that's all they want, you know here there,
you know, you're you're you know, it's just so easy
to affect the games.

Speaker 1 (22:57):
How about if you're a picture Christ and it says, uh,
you're gonna give up over two home runs, you could
throw groove a ball right down the middle of the plate. Man,
those are professional hitters, you grew one, dude.

Speaker 5 (23:12):
They get it out absolutely absolutely, it is. It is crazy,
So Antonio Daniels around the corner.

theme music Serious Xim, NBA radio host, Pelicans color analysts
the New Orleans also a Fox Sports Radio NBA analyst.
Our man, our friend, Antonio Daniels, Antonio, what's up man?

Speaker 6 (23:51):
What's happening?

Speaker 7 (23:52):
My man?

Speaker 6 (23:53):
We are good brother, and we should start with the gambling. Yes, Chris,
Yeah we were.

Speaker 5 (24:00):
We were just talking about Shani and you may have
seen maybe you haven't seen, but Porter. Yeah, well not
old tiny but Johntay Porter for the Toronto Raptors. He's
now being investigated. Do you I mean you obviously played
in the league when the league leagues weren't in bed
with gambling gambling the way they are now. Do you

(24:23):
think that we could see some problems with no leers?

Speaker 13 (24:28):
Yeah, go ahead, Nick, Except my thing is, I don't
think it's just players any time that you're involving gambling,
you have to understand what you're bringing in.

Speaker 12 (24:39):
It's like you're you're opening the door to a spirit
that you don't want to be attached to. That's how
I've always talked about it. But think about it. JB.
Bipperstaff has received threats from fans over gay. I felt like,
and I've always felt like that gambling has put a
very unhealthy and dangerous spotlight on players and coaches in

(25:05):
this league because a lot of some of the people
that are gamblings could care less about the game right yourself,
the fabric of the game. It's more about their money.
Anytime you're talking about money, people losing money, you have
to understand what you're what you're signing up for.

Speaker 5 (25:23):
You know what Antonio's people, Antonio I mean because once
your money becomes involved, you know what I mean, Like,
you're not you're not pulling for a team or players,
You're pulling for your bet.

Speaker 6 (25:34):
And and they and they know it. They know what
the spread is.

Speaker 1 (25:38):
They they're yelling at Bickerstaff to keep his stars in
so that they could cover the spread, you know, correct,
Like like that's crazy.

Speaker 12 (25:47):
And the thing is as a coach or as a player,
my job, Like, think about how many times this year
that you've heard players I've seen it. I've seen it
numerous times via social media where a player comes out
and tweets thatt a fan and says, I could care
less about your prop bet right, because what they're doing

(26:08):
now people are attacking players. You know, they're putting your
prop beats up. Okay, if if all five of these
things hit, I went five thousand dollars and four to
five hits, and the one that didn't hit is on
the player that was supposed to hit five threads but
he hit four. He's supposed to get can of rebounds
and he got eight. So now you're watching the game

(26:29):
from a completely different perspective, and I don't. I mean,
we have to understand what we're asking here. I understand
that everything is about the fans and everything is about entertainment,
but we have to understand what we are what we
are allowing in here.

Speaker 5 (26:42):
Yeah, now you said, and you're right on the money.
Let's get to some NBA action. The Lakers still the
ninth seed out West, but they've won five of their
last seven. I think eight of their last twelve are
what type of threat are they if any in the
way Western Conference playoffs.

Speaker 12 (27:02):
Well, I think they're a thread definitely. If you have
Lebron James and Anthony Davis, you're a threat. That that's
the that's the easy way that. Listen, we know and
I'm not telling you guys something that you don't already know.
This league is about matchups. Realistically. Do you think that
the Lakers if Sacramento be Golden State last year? Do

(27:26):
you think the Lakers go all the way to the
NBA Finals last year? Do you think the Lakers beg Sacramento.

Speaker 4 (27:32):
That's that's a good, uh good question.

Speaker 12 (27:36):
You know, the Lakers, what they got last year and
their way to the NBA Finals was lack of interior physicality.
That's their like, that's their achilles heel. You know, that's
why when you look at the way and that this
is one of the reasons Anthny David didn't want to
play center, right, that the physicality, it wears your body down. Like, look,
I don't I don't want to do on that. What

(27:57):
they were able to do was god teams last year
in the playoffs that had physical foot line. So they
had mythith first round, right, they beat Mifith. They didn't
get Sacramento first round, they got Golden State, who.

Speaker 4 (28:11):
Sacramento owns them?

Speaker 12 (28:12):
Yeah, ye, so then they got then they got Golden
State next round. But then when they met some similar
to physicality with Niko and Darren Gordon, they got swept.

Speaker 5 (28:24):
They couldn't win again, They couldn't win the right think
that saying it that that way? I mean, obviously Denver's
just a tough that they haven't beaten Denver and who
knows how long.

Speaker 4 (28:35):
But do you feel like they match up well with
every other time?

Speaker 5 (28:39):
I mean, Sacramentos owned them, they've owned Oklahoma City. But
do you think like a New Orleans which is young
and inexperienced compared to the Lakers, and you can say
that for a lot of the teams, do you think
that would be a positive factor for the Lakers?

Speaker 12 (28:54):
Yes, I mean if if I'm a Laker fan and
if they make it is of course I'm saying, look,
as long as we can dodge Denver. But I don't
think the Lakers are the only fan base that are
making this argit as long as you can dodge Denver.
You have questions about Minnesota, You have questions about Phoenix.
You have questions about Oklahoma City, you have questions about

(29:15):
the Clippers, you have questions about the Pelicans, you have
questions all the way through all these fan bases and teams.
Fe like, you know what, if you can dodge Denver,
I'm gonna go ahead and take my chances on everybody else,
and I will feel the think about it. The Lakers
are the most seasoned out of all of those teams, right,
other teams that we just named, ok See, Minnesota, the Pelicans,

(29:40):
Clippers go down the list. Phoenix, the Lakers are the
most seasons of all of them. And if I feel like, well,
if I have the Lakers have Anny Davids, I have
Lebron James, I have that championship DNA inexperience, if we
can get in, we got a shot.

Speaker 1 (29:56):
Speaking of the Clippers, let me ask last thing. We
know what a what a really good coach ty lew
is we know that Westbrook been injured. I think he's
coming back. Is he coming back tomorrow? I think he's
oh today, I'm sorry. I know it was like very soon.
I thought it was tomorrow. But my point is, is

(30:17):
there some some other issue? There is there some locker
room something or some team thing, because we saw this
thing like a well oiled machine at one point when
they won eighteen out of twenty one and they were
just rolling.

Speaker 6 (30:31):
What's happened?

Speaker 12 (30:32):
Well, I'm not there in that locker room, so I
will be unfair for me to say that, but I
can tell you from experience of what I've seen and
what I've experienced, there is any such thing at speaking
too early. That's a real thing. So we have seen
teams peak in December. We've seen teams peak in Denbury, like,

(30:55):
for example, did the Lakers peak during the in season tournament?
Is that the best that they're going to love? Right?
And that's what That's what I mean. It's this league.
It's about matchups and peeking and playing the best basketball.
At the right side of the season. That Clippers team
that won eighteen to twenty one that you just referenced, Rob,
they were playing that way the second week of April.

(31:17):
Moving on, we're having a completely different conversation about.

Speaker 1 (31:20):
This team championship right right, correct?

Speaker 12 (31:24):
Correct the question that I have and I don't know
about locker room issues. I can tell you what they missed,
Russell Westbrook because bone Tiland cannot bring the same energy
that Russell Westbook breaks. He cannot. But with that being said,
even before Russell Westbrook got hurt, they weren't still they
still weren't that same team. Dam lost. I believe they
were two and two. I believe in their last four.

(31:45):
But here's the thing. The question I would ask is
did the Clippers peak too early?

Speaker 5 (31:51):
We'll see, all right, that's our man, Antonio Daniels breaking
down the NBA.

Speaker 4 (31:57):
Thank you, brother, We appreciate.

Speaker 1 (31:58):
And Antonio, one last question? Have you ever bet on baseball?
That's all I need to know.

Speaker 6 (32:02):
Yes, no, no help, I'm with you, thank you?

Speaker 8 (32:09):
All right?

Speaker 4 (32:09):
No, you ain't with him? You bet? I'm Shekel City

Speaker 6 (32:56):
All right, Chris, here you go. Best bet I'm going.

Speaker 1 (33:00):
I'm with the Chicago Bulls minus twelve and a half
hosting the Washington Wizards. That's in Shytown. I'm gonna take
the Phoenix Suns minus twelve and a half. No whim
beat tonight in San antoniotis person?

Speaker 6 (33:17):
What's that?

Speaker 4 (33:18):
I was excited about watching it?

Speaker 1 (33:19):
Yeah, there's another game you can't really want to watch anymore.
So I'm gonna take Phoenix minus twelve and a half.
Chris on the road, and I'm gonna take Houston. These
are all terrible, ridiculous spreads. I'm gonna take Houston minus
fourteen and a half taken on Portland. I mean, my god,
you take Houston with minus fourteen and a half. Yeah,

(33:40):
at home hosting Portland beat up.

Speaker 6 (33:42):
Yeah, that's why that looks like that's a really good bet. There.

Speaker 1 (33:45):
So Houston minus fourteen and a half, the Suns minus
twelve and a half, and the Bulls minus twelve and
a half. Chris, And remember I'm not a major league
player betting on games. I'm a Nobbins, but I'm not
telling you who to bet on. I'm telling you who
I bet on.

Speaker 4 (34:05):
All right, Rob.

Speaker 5 (34:06):
With that said Kim Malkey, the controversial head coach to
the LSU Tigers women's team, four time national champion, she
kind of tried to get out in front of a
story that'll be coming out in the Washington Post.

Speaker 4 (34:23):
She's referring to it as a hit piece.

Speaker 5 (34:26):
Her LSU Tigers, of course, the third seed, defending national champions,
third seed in the tournament or.

Speaker 4 (34:33):
In their bracket.

Speaker 5 (34:34):
They are awaiting the winner of UCLA and Creighton later tonight.

Speaker 4 (34:40):
But Maltie tried to get out in front of this.

Speaker 5 (34:43):
What she's kind of saying is a negative piece that's
gonna be written about her in the Washington Post.

Speaker 4 (34:47):
Here she is, Rob.

Speaker 14 (34:50):
This is exactly why people don't trust journalists and the
media anymore. It's these kinds of sleazy tactics and hatching
jobs that people are just tired of. I'm fed up
and I'm not gonna let the Washington Post attack this university,
this awesome team of young women. I have or me

(35:12):
without a fight. I've heard the best defamation law firm
in the country, and I will sue the Washington Post
if they publish a false story about me. Not many
people are in a position to hold these kind of
journalists accountable.

Speaker 6 (35:28):
She is full of manlauche and full of hot air.
Go ahead.

Speaker 1 (35:34):
All she did was basically throw out her trump card
that I have money and I can hire and atturn
a false piece to Washington Post, Chris, A false piece
about her with interviewing her former players and current players.

Speaker 3 (35:50):
What false story?

Speaker 1 (35:52):
And more people want to read that story now than
if she didn't do all that.

Speaker 5 (35:56):
See, that's the thing I mean, Chris, If she didn't
draw that attention to it, it's probably not really that big.

Speaker 6 (36:03):
Read the piece first, Chris.

Speaker 1 (36:05):
Read the piece before you hire defamation attorney and go
on a stage.

Speaker 6 (36:12):
And who was she playing to?

Speaker 4 (36:13):
What crowd? To reporters?

Speaker 1 (36:16):
Chris, She's sitting in front of a press conference of
reporters covering college basketball, talking about she's gonna suit one
of the greatest newspapers in our history. You think the
Washington Post is going to jeopardize Chris or put out
a story, Come on, really?

Speaker 4 (36:35):
Yeah?

Speaker 5 (36:36):
I wonder if she was trying to derail the storm,
scare the editors at the Washington Post, you know what
I mean? Like that, that's that seems to be what
she was trying to do.

Speaker 1 (36:47):
You mean the newspaper that brought write it, the newspaper
that brought Richard Nixon's presidency down, that one Christ that newspaper.

Speaker 5 (36:56):
So I think, like you said, she should have waited
until the story came out.

Speaker 4 (37:02):
It would it. There's no way even if it had.

Speaker 5 (37:06):
Come comes out, Rob, and it is negative, There's no
way it's as big a deal if she had not
said anything as it is now, right, it is going
to be a huge deal now.

Speaker 4 (37:18):
And then you know how tough it is to prove defamation.

Speaker 5 (37:22):
You have to prove that the guy was out to
get you put out right.

Speaker 4 (37:27):
Right, I mean, it is what it is. It may
be a negative story.

Speaker 3 (37:30):
I don't know.

Speaker 4 (37:31):
We'll see, but Rob, we see those all the time.

Speaker 5 (37:35):
So she, I mean, she would really have an uphill
battle to prove defamation, and that it is.

Speaker 1 (37:41):
Very hard defamation. Could you got to prove that somebody
deliberately deliberately put out false information about you?

Speaker 7 (37:49):
Right?

Speaker 4 (37:50):
Right?

Speaker 5 (37:50):
So she I think she out smarter herself, Rob, if
she hadn't said, you don't need to tell the world
you hired, you know, investigators. Just let it go, let
it play out, and see what it is when it
comes out, all right.
